How Did Nina Simone Influence The Civil Rights Movement
The soulful queen of R B, blues, and jazz stood as a figure of raw talent, resilience, and most of all
grace. She captured the essence of a strong black woman. She emerged in the 50 s and 60 s,
captivating people with her raspy voice and beautiful music training. As a devoted Civil Rights
activists, Ms. Simone used her platform as a singer to fight the cause. She was known for songs such
as Mississippi Goddam, Young, Gifted and Black and Feeling Good .
She didn t feed on fame, she used it to expand the work that others were doing. Before she would be
known as Nina Simone, on February 21, 1933, in Tryon, North Carolina, Eunice Kathleen Waymon
was born. As a young girl, playing piano in church she felt, I was a black girl and I knew about it. She
realised the effect of racism when the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia rejected her application

She sought to sing the truth and share it to anyone that would listen. She inspired many performers
including Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, and Lauryn Hill. Lauryn Hill wrote because I fed on this
music ... I believed I always had a right to have a voice. Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to
a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift (Lauryn Hill). Indeed that was true, Nina Simone
inspired a new generation of talented artists to have the courage to express their talents. Her voice
continues to live on through television and film soundtracks. Two documentaries on Nina Simone s
life were released in 2015: The Amazing Nina Simone, directed by Jeff L. Lieberman and What
Happened, Miss Simone?, from Netflix. The project s detailed hard aspects of Simone s life. The
project s included the abuse Simone endured from her ex husband and also the aduse her daughter
received from her mother. What Happened, Miss Simone? later received an Oscar nomination for best

The Case Identifies Struggle And Problem Faced By...
Tegan + Hrad Technika Case Kriti Paliwal The case identifies struggle and problem faced by
organizations outsourcing IT projects and allows us to ponder on how to manage outsourcing well.
Case Questions: 1. What do you think caused the current situation with respect to Tegan s A/P system
development project outsourced to Hrad Technika? The A/P outsourcing project failed miserably, as an
outcome of multiple mistakes from both the companies, this case explores major mistakes an
organization can make to cause such a fiasco. Below are the causes which contributes to this failure.

linear approach but the linear approach demands for appropriate requirements and analysis at the very
start of the project, and the A/P system project clearly demanded an iterative approach as described in
the case, the fluctuating requirements made it impractical to have been completed in the decided time,
also waterfall method leads to increasing cost and time, and thus is not appropriate under the fixed
price contract because there are no adjustments for any scope change, so, here because of wrong
contract agreement, incorrect methodology, directly constituted to high governance costs for Tegan.
Tegan failed to impart proper knowledge of its A/P system to Hrad due to lack of sufficient personnel
and expertise in that area, as per the case, only one employee was there (Julia Jones) who was having
the functional knowledge of the current system and was solely responsible to interact and review the
low level designs (LLDs), which resulted in the backlog of reviews and thus Hrad was not able to
iterate as required. One more integral factor which led to the failure of this outsourcing was the lack of
leadership and commitment for the project from both the ends. Tegan did not show its commitment to
the project because first, it failed to deploy adequate expertise to facilitate the review

Globalisation and Australian Automotive Industry
Globalisation and World Today globalization is essentially a synonym for global business.
Globalization is changing the world we live in at a very increasingly rapid pace (Rodrik., 1997).
Changes in technology, communication, and transportation are opening up borders and markets at
increasing rates. In any large city in any country, Japanese cars ply the streets, a mobile call can be
enough to buy equities from a stock exchange half a world away, local businesses could not function
without U.S. computers, and foreign multinationals have taken over large segments of service
industries. Impact of Globalisation, both theoretically and practically, can be observed in different

Stages of Human Nature Essay
the more profoundly a man thinks, the more tenderly he feels, the more highly he rates himself, the
greater the distance grows between him and the other animals the more he appears as the genius
among the animals the closer he will get to the true nature of the world and to a knowledge of it: this
he does in fact do through science. ~Friedrich Nietzsche1 Stages of Human Nature Throughout
history, human beings have encountered many changes that have altered the way society has viewed
them. The cruel hands of history, which constantly hold the foundation of the mind and the spirit, have
shaped human nature. Knowledge is the tool by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is what history makes him. History keeps him in constant movement. For many people in the early
18th century, life was based on subsistence living. An individualís human nature was dictated by their
bloodline and their social position was secured by birth. If a man was born a peasant, he stayed a
peasant, and he died a peasant. This theory of blood can be summed up in one statement: You are what
you bleed. People viewed their environment within the confines of localism, which is limiting life to a
locality, and described it as ìnasty, brutish, and shortî because of the subsistence lifestyle they led in an
agrarian, nature based society. An individualís inherent qualities, their ways of life, the very spirit of
his nature, were completely encumbered to the process of survival. The individual did not exist to
express their being or their mind. The difficulties of this life led to collectiveness among people of
common blood. Human ingenuity, the desire to be free, and the ability to reason for themselves,
instead of living by the divinely bestowed power of an absolute monarch, did not exist in the first half
of the 18th century. Human nature was bland, oppressed, and uncreative. It was contained within the
walls of ancestry, chained by subsistence and localism, and oppressed by a central rulerís power that
could not be questioned because of the fear of God. Despite the chains of a difficult lifestyle that
human nature endured,

Mother Son Conflict In The Odyssey
There is a common theme in Greek Mythology of children fighting with, overthrowing, and often
killing their parents. Zeus kills his father Cronus to rise to power as the king of the Olympian gods.
Prior to this, Cronus had killed his own father, Uranus, which lead to the rise of the Titans.
Perhaps you re confused. No one kills their parents in the books we read in class, you re probably
thinking. In this, you are correct. However, Telemachus relationship with his mother Penelope still fits
some aspects of this trope of struggling in the assumption of power from his parents. His murder of
the maids at his father s command is influenced by his attempting to prevail in this mother son
conflict.
In order to present this concept in my media project, I created a comic detailing Telemachus
hypothetical thought process, the people and statements I d imagine were passing through his mind the
moment before he murdered the maids. In doing so, I can justify my thesis. Sections from the comic
and the quotations that go along with them will appear on the screen behind me as I provide literary
analysis, and at the end I ll show the comic in full.
To begin, in order to prove the murders were influenced by the conflict, it must first be proven that
there is a conflict. Shortly after the introductory section of the Odyssey, we see Telemachus telling his
mother to go back to her quarters and tend to her distaff and loom . Then, he reminds her he holds the
reins of power in their house.

Civil Liberties And Airport Security
Are the civil liberties of the citizens of the United States sacrificed during the airport security checks
with the use of body scanners for the sake of national security? This week thousands of Americans
will board airplanes to head to their Thanksgiving destinations, and they will need to undergo several
security checks in order to advance to their flight. Since September 11, 2001, the vulnerability and
fear arose in the United States citizens about the security tactics in place to protect our nation. One
area of concern was the airport security measures that allowed al Qaeda and their associates to take
control of United State s airplanes to carry out their plan of attack. The fear of another terrorist attack
taking place on the airplanes resulted in extraordinary security tactics immediately emerging to protect
the citizens. Further instances of other threats required more advanced security equipment to be
installed, such as the body scanners. Statistics revealed there were an estimated 793 scanners (full
body scanners) in use in March 2016 in more than 157 airports in the United States (Jansen). All of
these security measures have taken place with the expense of sacrificing civil liberties. Although, the
body scanners were developed to protect the people, the civil liberties of the United States citizens are
sacrificed for the sake of national security through invasion of privacy, inefficiencies, misuse, and
expense.
To begin, in general, civil liberties are

Ancient Ireland Research Paper
The first humanoids appeared in Ireland during the 7th millennium BC. They are believed to have
arrived from France and Scandinavia over the open ocean. They settled areas on the North Eastern
coast of Ireland. During the Mesolithic period inhabitants depended mostly on fishing and hunting and
gathering. Curraghs, light weight boats, were used to navigate inland water and coastal fishing. The
only remnants of this culture are the imprints left in pottery, there were no major contributions to the
island itself. During the 4th millennium BC Ireland s second major wave of settlement. During this
period Europeans came to Ireland in search of land for their crops and animals. These people left

Patrick s Confessio was written circa 440 AD, by St. Patrick. In the Confessio St. Patrick tells the
story to the Irish people of why he came to Ireland. He tell them of the messages sent to him from God
throughout his life that had saved him from slavery during his childhood. He uses the story of his life
to show the Irish why they should turn to Christianity. St. Patrick even explains the Irish that he is not
a perfect person. I know I cannot trust myself as long as I am in this body subject to death This quote
shows that he does not hold him above the Irish people, but as an equal. He talks about how even
though he has sinned God has forgiven him and has even saved him in times of need. This confession
by St Patrick also defends his actions in Ireland. When I baptised so many thousands of people, did I
hope to receive even the smallest payment? If so, tell me, and I will return it to you This quote tells the
Irish that he is not converting them in a selfish way. He is converting them for their sakes and because
he was asked by God himself. In 1171 internal struggle for power caused the Irish to be open to attack
from Anglo Welsh warriors. This is the first time that Ireland had faced an army from outside of it s
own borders, which had this meant that he Irish had not had to keep up with the current military
innovations. In October of 1171 King Henry II arrived in Ireland. In 1172 King Henry took Dublin
under his protection and issued the first Charter for his city .

Analysis Of Pink Plastic Flamingo
How can a simple pink plastic decoration effectively symbolize the collective culture of the U.S.? In
her essay The Pink Plastic Flamingo: A Natural History , Jennifer Price explains both the impact that
the iconic decoration had on American and what it says about American culture as a whole. Price
expertly crafts the text using powerful diction to explain the significance of the pink flamingo,
allusions to cultural icons to demonstrate the easily influenced nature of Americans, and sarcasm and
irony to explain and highlight America s consumeristic and materialistic culture. Price s carefully
calculated diction and word choice effectively explains America s attachment towards bold statements
of wealth and status and thus, their attraction towards the flamingo. Through usage of such phrases
including ...synonymous with wealth and pizzaz. (Price 7 8), ...cachet of leisure and extravagance.
(Price 19), ...extra fillip of boldness... (Price 20), and ...broiling magenta, livid pink, incarnadine...
(Price 34 35), Price is able to effectively explain the connotations of wealth, status, and boldness that
the plastic flamingo had to Americans through describing the flamingo as how most Americans would
perceive it. Price s powerful diction creates vivid imagery of the flamingo and the underlying
meanings behind it. Using such wording, Price is not only able to explain what the flamingo
symbolizes, but is also able to demonstrate why Americans would be drawn to the simple lawn

Frequent Flyer Research Paper
Frequent flyer programs benefit plans are intended for those who travel regularly by the same carrier
or group of partner airlines, as a reward for their loyalty as customers. If you are associated with a
frequent flyer program you will receive miles with each flight you make. Miles accrued have a value
in itself, and will accumulate in your frequent flyer account. Miles can not be transferred from one
account to another frequent traveler. Therefore, it is advisable to participate in one frequent flyer
program for alliance, so to centralize in one account all miles earned to travel on each airline group
and not scatter your miles in different programs.
But how really are frequent flyer programs work? With frequent flyer programs, airlines seek to
increase customer loyalty, managing to be the main option for your trip. In turn, customers benefit by

Find out before you plan your trip, as airlines often limit the mileage redemption on air during peak
holiday season or to certain destinations. You can also redeem your miles for other products or
services such as hotel accommodation, magazine subscriptions, car rentals and the like. Having earned
a lot of miles is also putting you in some sort of a pedigree that only the affluent would be able to
understand. The more miles you have accumulated, the more rewards you will.
Some airlines have levels such as silver, gold and platinum to indicate the status of the most active
frequent travelers. In this way, you will become part of the elite group where you can enjoy important
privileges, such as staying in the room of the airport aimed at the first class, moving up the flight
category, receive preferential treatment when signing in airports, to boarding the plane and check your
luggage. Also, if you are a member, you earn Elite mileage bonuses for each journey made, based on
the actual miles

The Differences Between The Arab People Of Arabia And...
Culture in Syria With the United States being involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, we as soldiers learn a
completely new type of culture. We also know that in each of the two countries that their way of living
is different from each other even though their religion is same. This is true throughout the world and
that is what makes it hard for one to understand why there cannot be more cohesion between
countries. The same true of Syria. The way they live day to day and worship is different from either of
the other two countries, despite that they are an Islamic country. The Syrian people are different in the
approach to people, economy, government, and cultural life.
Ethnic and Linguistic The people of Syria draw their influence from several origins over a long
period. The Greeks and Romans ethnic influence was negligible. The people of Arabia and
Mesopotamia left their influence on what we see today. Even though the Turks, Greeks, and Romans
influenced the political and economic structures of Syria, they could not change in the dominant Arab
character of the Syrian people. Ninety percent of the population speaks the official language, which is
Arabic. There three other languages that are spoken in the country and they include Kurdish,
Armenian, and Circassian. Some ancient languages are still present today in the country. They include
Maalua, Aramaic, and Syriac, also English and French are used, but that is from speaking with
tourists.

Essay on America Should Not Use Military Force in Iraq
Dear Americans:
After the successful anti terrorism war in Afghanistan, are we going to fight another war on Iraq? In
almost every statement on foreign policy, Bush states his belief on his war against Iraq and depicts
Saddam Hussein as an evil. A recent poll showed that nearly seven in 10 supported military action to
force Saddam Hussein from power (Public Agenda). Before you make your decision, do you think a
war after Iraq is justified by International law and US law? Do you know the current situation and the
background of Iraq and the Middle East world? Do you think getting rid of Hussein can stop terrorists
attack on America? Have you thought about the huge capital cost of the war, the casualties of US
soldiers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now President Bush has declared his intention to wage a preemptive war against Iraq (Messineo and
Hilliard). Preemptive war means we can attack Iraq in the first place just because we believe Iraq is
supporting terrorists and we believe Iraq will attack us in the future. Then who can justify whether
what we believe is right or wrong? What if some terrorists attack us first just because they believe that
US will attack them in the future?
We can clearly see the injustice of the war by other countries responses. Fighting the al Qaeda
terrorists in Afghanistan was a right action against terrorists. Most countries around the world
supported us. But on the issue of war on Iraq, even though Bush tries his best to persuade other
countries leaders, most key countries are still against it (BBC news). For example, Germany argues
that international efforts to fight terrorism, rebuild Afghanistan and calm the conflict in the Middle
East could be destabilized by a strike against Iraq ; France has serious reservations about an attack on
Iraq ; Russia indicates that it might agree to attack Iraq only under UN authority if Baghdad blocks the
work of weapons inspectors (BBC news). Most Middle East Arabian countries are strongly against
military action on Iraq before every possible effort on peace talk has made and before the United
Nation has

To fight or not to fight
Life is hard for kind people. We live in a world where we are told to be kind since we are children. To
hold doors for girls ,and to use manners and give compliments. We are told this all through school, but
by the time most people are in middle school all those lessons that had been drilled into us since we
are kids seem to disappear. On the internet you can be a cruel person knocking down others beliefs
and self worth ,but it seems like all those people know how to keep their mouth shut when they re not
behind a screen. Even through all this there seems to still be some optimist still out there. Lots of
times those people draw the short straw. Most of the time these people shrug it off and keeping going
on with their lives, but sometimes people snap. That s the case with Mary Maloney in Roald Dahl s
Lamb to slaughter.
You see the story starts off with Mrs. Maloney waiting for her husband to come home. It also says
Now and again she glanced at the clock, but without anxiety. This proves that this woman knows that
her husband will come home to her safe and sound. In the text It also says that Mrs. Maloney is
expecting a baby. Throughout the story their is no mention of any other children letting us know that
this is Mary s first child ,and usually women have their first born when their young ,say their early or
mid twenties. What we can infer is that Mary is a young wife expecting

A Perfect Health Care System
I feel as if we will never have a perfect health care system in place. No matter what we try, something

With Obama care we had an option for everyone to get health insurance. Now what the government is
trying to pass through will cause million of people to lose their health care. Also, Medicaid is going to
be reduced by millions. So many poor, disabled, and old people will lose their insurance making it
hard for them to get the help they need. Politicians make us think there is just a simple fix to our

The Mystery of Ancient Civilization s Buidling of Massive...
Have you ever wondered how ancient civilization built massive structures? Many ancient civilizations
built things that served a multitude of purposes. Most of the purposes of these structures are already
known but, there still may be unknown uses for the thing these ancient civilizations built. There also
many different ancient civilizations like the Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Egyptian, Mayans, and Aztecs.
Many of the things built in ancient times influenced the things that we build today. For example, the
coliseum influenced the basic designs of modern football stadiums. Also the designs made by these
ancient civilizations helped to change the way other civilizations made there monuments. For
example, when the romans started to different types of columns and arches the style was adopted,
modified, and used in the designs of cathedrals in Europe .There are many parts of these ancient
buildings still undiscovered. For example there could still be sealed rooms in the pyramids of Giza.
Usually when people start to research architecture made by ancient civilizations, they have to answer
how were they built, and what were they built for.
There were many things built in the period of ancient Greece that had many different uses. Ancient
Greeks were the first to build lighthouses. The first one was originally one of the Seven Wonders of
the World and was used to guide ships to shore. It used wicker lamps as a light source so the light
could only be seen from a few miles away. The

causes them to contract. This forces blood into the ventricles which sets the rate and rhythm of the
heartbeat. A pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s natural
pacemaker sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system.
Growing knowledge of the human body led to the experimentation of a wide range of electrotherapies
by pioneering scientists and physicians. These techniques employed both direct current and static
electricity. It was already known that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Electrostimulation is needed when the heart cannot generate electrical signals by itself. A pacemaker
electrically stimulates the heart and consists of a battery, pulse generator, wires and electrodes.
Functionally, the pacemaker must match the action (electrical) potential produced by a working sinus
node (Testing a Pacemaker 2016).
The battery generates power for the pacing system. It produces electricity as a result of a chemical
reaction. In its simplest form a battery consists of an anode, electrolyte, separator and cathode.
Pacemaker batteries are composed of Lithium Iodine. Lithium acts as an anode and provides electrons
and the Iodine acts as a cathode, receiving electrons. The anode and cathode are separated by
electrolytes which serves as a conductor of ionic movement but as a barrier to electron transfers
(Butler, n.d). The battery voltage depends on the chemical composition of the Lithium Iodine. At the
Beginning of Life (BOL) of the battery produces around 2.8 volts. At the Elective Replacement
Indicator point in which 90% of battery life has been used the battery generates at around 2.4 volts.
This rate decreases exponentially until the End of Life (EOL) is reached and the battery generates
around 1.8 volts. The contributing factors to the longevity of the pacemaker include chemical
composition of the battery, the size of the battery, the amount of internal discharge, voltage

The Tragedy of EveryMan in Death of a Salesman
Will you take that phony dream and burn it before something happens?

Only in America. The American Dream. Much is made in our society of the pursuit of the American

After all, the unhindered pursuit of life, liberty and happiness is our birthright. But this is part of that
visible world that Miller is punching holes in, exposing it to some of those inescapable truths of
existence. There is a dark side to the freedom inherent in our pursuit of the American dream. Things
get corrupt and out of balance when greed and power replace concern for others, or when the
capitalistic system degenerates into nothing more than survival of the fittest mentality. Too much
emphasis gets placed on wealth. Thus Willy can not accept that the things around him are enough to
have a good life. He must be rich like his brother Ben. And in a dog eat dog world its all right for
those riches to be obtained by unscrupulous means Never fight fair with a stranger boy. You ll never

life he finds that he is a piece of fruit whose peel is being tossed away. And as for Biff, it s not enough

Strategic Location And Energy Reserves
During his keynote address at the opening of the 30th Asia Pacific roundtable, Malaysian Prime
Minister said, We will continue to rely on diplomacy and dialogue to peacefully resolve difference and
disputes. We will do so in accordance with and in adherence to the norms, customs, and principles of
international law (Cheng, 2016). Disputes in the SCS have been a long standing issues amongst
claimants such as Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Republic of China.
Apart from territorial disputes, the SCS holds a critical geostrategic importance due to its strategic
location and energy reserves (Kaplan, 2011). Increased of China assertive action in the SCS and
reclamation work in Spratlys has disturbed the SCS claimants and its users. In early 2013, Philippines
have initiated an arbitration case against China over maritime disputes in the South China Sea at the
Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague (Xue Lei, 2016). Indonesia recently involved with the
SCS disputes when Chinese fishing vessel encroached into Natuna Islands waters and Indonesian war

visited Natuna Islands and held a meeting onboard the war ship as to send a stern warning about the

When I was a young girl and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I had no idea

Elementary was when I realized exactly what I wanted to do. I was a shy child, but when comfortable

Sternberg believes that psychology can help others in their everyday lives. Sternberg conducted this
study at an APA convention where he would give the audience members three quizzes based on his
research on learning, love and conflict resolution. The exercises showed that if your style doesn t
match with the three most important levels that you are involved in you are less likely to be
successful. There first quiz was revolved around how we think and learn in the work place it contained
three levels and each person has a varying amount of each. The three levels are the legislative,
judicial, and executive and everyone has a different style due to fact that we are all different. No one
level is better than the other, but it all depends on what task is being given. Furthermore, Sternberg s
second quizzed put emphasis on how we love impacts our relationships. There are also three levels
included in Sternberg s triangular theory of love, which include intimacy, passion and commitment.
Intimacy, passion, and commitment all positively related to successful relationships. How well the
levels matched with your partner would determine the happiness of the relationship. Also, the third
quiz involved how we solve conflict. Sternberg found that the way we solve conflict is steady and
almost universal. The article proves that the Psychology is important for the basic human interaction

Gender Bias In The Early Greek Culture
Gender Bias in the Early Greek Culture
It s important to know that discrimination is the unjust treatment of a person or thing based on age,
race, and or sexual orientation (CITE THIS). Discrimination is seen throughout the world s history in
forms of slavery, social inequality, racial bias, and gender inequality. Unfortunately, women in history
also faced discrimination by not having much of the same rights as men did. More specifically, when
looking at the history of the Greeks, one can clearly point out gender inequality in everyday life, law,
and even literature.
Athenian women were the subjects of bias in day to day life. A women s property was controlled by
her father until she entered an arranged marriage, usually at the age of fourteen. Her husband would
then supervise her and that was because it was believed that a woman could not act independently (
PAGE NUMBER). If they left the house or attended court they were accompanied by a male. They
didn t receive formal educations and couldn t act in plays. Women essentially couldn t do anything.
Women were seen as inferior to men and therefore were treated like such. This idea bled into the belief
that women should do things at home while the man goes off to work. Men were taking advantage of
women by stripping them from any potential power by controlling every aspect of their lives.
Although it may seem odd that women did not fight for their rights, many of them feared the
consequences for not obeying her husband,

A Day At Home
It had been a fairly, nice day. Work wasn t to bad. My boss wasn t on my tail for not getting him a
paper on time. It was supper time when I got home. The food was already set out and the kids at the
table when I walked in the door. Jane, 9 years old, had a book in her hand like normal. Billy, 4 years
old, sat there picking at his scab. My husband came in with the last plate. Jason had been out of a job
for 9 months now, so he was the stay at home mom for a little while. I set my bag down on our
wooden table right beside the door. I walked over to the table said hi down and went to finish helping
my husband. When we were finished, I sat down to look all of my wonderful family in the eye and see
that today was a good day.
When supper was over, we sent the kids to go brush their teeth like we do every time after dinner. I
was helping my husband with the dishes after dinner. When we were done, the kids were in bed and
we had to go and tuck them in. We went and tucked Jane in. She was going to read a little before she
completely went to sleep. Jason, my Husband, left the room when he was done to use the restroom. I
then went to Billy s room to tuck him in. I sat down on the edge of the bed.
I said, How was today?
Billy replied, It was fun. We did a lot of coloring. I colored a huge bear.
Good I am glad you had fun with coloring. I said.

A Research Study On Abstract- Vehicular Networks Essay
Abstract Vehicular networks or VANET announce as the communication networks of the future, where
the mobility is the main idea. These networks should be able to interconnect vehicles. The optimal
goal is that these networks will contribute to safer roads and more effective in the future by providing
timely information to drivers and concerned authorities. They are therefore vulnerable to many types
of attacks among them the black hole attack. In this attack, a malicious node disseminates spurious
replies for any route discovery in order to monopolize all data communication and deteriorate network
performance. Many studies have focused on detecting and isolating malicious nodes in VANET. In
this paper, we present two mechanisms to detect this attack. The main goal is detecting as well as
bypass cooperative black hole attack. Our approachs has been evaluated by the detailed simulation
study with NS2 and the simulation results shows an improvement of protocol performance. .
Keywords VANET; AODV; Black Hole;Ad Hoc; NS2
I. INTRODUCTION
Ad hoc networks consist of a set of self organized of mobile nodes which cooperate using a routing
protocol to facilitate the communication. They have become very popular in recent years due to their
characteristics: easy deployment, lack of infrastructure, dynamic topology, mobility and minimum
commissioning costs.
A VANET network is a subset of ad hoc networks where each mobile node is an intelligent vehicle
equipped with communication

December 16, 2014 The movie Gojira in 1954 reflects monstrosity in the history of mid 20 century.
The appearance of the dinosaur age animal in Japan bring different perspective view through
psychoanalysis to different groups of people. This film also read as a national allegory for Japanese,
war trauma and the revenge of nature. In the movie of Gojira, Japan was thrown into a panic state after
several cases of fishing and military boat reported missing mysteriously. Military officials suspected
the missing might due to sea mine or underwater volcanic activity. Somewhere near the ships were

The Consequences Of Video Game Violence In Video Games
Violence in video games is well known for toeing the line between entertainment and immorality. The
controversy began as early as 1976, when protestors destroyed an arcade game that revolved around
hitting human like creatures with a car. As computers grew more advanced in the next two decades,
video game violence became increasingly realistic ( Background of the Issue ). This prompted the
creation of the Entertainment Software Rating Board, commonly abbreviated ESRB, in 1994 for
parents to make informed decisions regarding the content their children were exposed to. The 1999
shooting at Columbine High School fueled the debate further, drawing potential connections between
virtual violence and real world consequences ( Background of the Issue ). In the years following, laws
regarding the sale of video games with graphic violence sprouted up across the nation. Even the
Supreme Court was involved ( Background of the Issue ). Today, as many as 97% of US kids age 12
17 play video games, contributing to the $21.53 billion domestic video game industry ( Violent Video
Games ). Critics of video game violence argue that it directly increases a person s violent behavior and
lowers their tendency to act for the benefit of others. Defenders of video game violence argue that
media coverage of video game violence is heavily biased, studies that link it to acts of violence are
flawed, and that video game violence is a harmless outlet for emotions of aggression. Critics of
violence in video games believe that it increases an adolescent s tendency toward violent actions.
Multiple credible organizations also view playing violent video games as a statistical detail affecting a
person s aggressive tendency. Over 98% of American pediatricians say that children and teens become
more aggressive when exposed to violent media such as a violent video game ( Violent Video Games
). The FBI uses an individual s violent video game history to assess the risk of a school shooting
threat. The American Psychological Association cites frequent violent video game exposure as a risk
factor that contributes to violence in teens ( Violent Video Games ). Some groups that are against
video game violence go as far as to list it as a primary cause

Communication Within the Nhs
1. The National Health Service (NHS) is a publicly funded service, providing free health care for all
British citizens. Since its launch in 1948, the NHS has grown to become the world s largest publicly
funded health service together with one of the largest employers in the world . However throughout
the past decade the demand for health care has been rising radically and with the continuous need to
be accountable for public spending the NHS has been put under immense pressure to be cost effective
at the same time as achieving their prime objective of improving the standard of care (NHS Choices,
2010).

Ignorance of these differences may lead to offending an employee, leading to unintentional
discrimination and poor relationships. It would therefore be beneficial for human resource
management to understand culture disparities that may affect the way in which a message is perceived
(Culturaldiversisty.org, 2008). Cultural diversity not only causes interferences within verbal
communication but also in the way non verbal communication is perceived. In relation to the cultural
variations within non verbal communication, body language is often misconstrued. For example when
the British are talking face to face they tend to look away spasmodically , in contrast to this the
Norwegians typically look people steadily in their eyes without altering their gaze, thus a British
individual communicating with a Norwegian could portray this eye contact as threatening and a wrong
perception of that person may be perceived (Mullins, 2005, p231).
3.1 As the prime objective of the NHS care system is to provide optimal care for all UK citizens, and
with a multicultural country as our own, cultural competence ought to be manifested at every level
within the NHS organization to ensure there are no damaging effects. Missunderstandings may lead to

Freedom In A Caged Bird
In Maya Angelou s famous poem Caged Bird, she writes The caged bird sings of freedom. Although
Angelou was born many years after Jane Eyre became popular in the Victorian Age, Bronte s message
of finding one s independence when they are trapped in a situation or relationship has continued
throughout time. In Charlotte Brontё s Jane Eyre, bird imagery is used to represent the lack of freedom
that poor and low class Victorian woman like Jane had in their life but Bronte wanted to show through
Jane that with bravery, strength and money; women are able to fight becoming a caged bird and can
make a fulfilling and financially stable life on their own.

Rochester believes throughout the whole novel that he is an expert at reading people which he tries to
prove by disguising himself as a gypsy fortune teller for Jane and his friends. Before this strange act
when Rochester and Jane have their first discussion, he tries to read Jane by saying at intervals the
glance of a curious sort of bird through the close set bars of a cage: a vivid, restless, resolute captive is
there; were it but free, it would soar cloud high. (263) Rochester describes Jane as a caged bird
wishing to be free because Jane is stuck teaching at Thornfield which is located far away from the
nearest town which magnifies Jane s feeling of isolation. Rochester sees that she could be powerful
which is why throughout Jane s time at Thornfield he is constantly trying to prove his dominance. As
much as Rochester tries to win over Jane, she resists him exclaiming I am no bird; and no net ensnares
me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you. (483) The
discovery of Bertha helps Jane to realize she could become a trapped and crazy woman if she stayed
with Rochester. This revelation helps Jane to break out of the cage that is Thornfield and soar cloud
high just like Rochester predicted. Fuller discusses both sides of Thornfield that Jane finds a great deal
of liberty in the grounds of Thornfield, but for Rochester they represent as much of a prison as Jane s
garden at Lowood. The irony of how one place can feel like home to one person but a prison to
another is demonstrated through Thornfield. Rochester has a part of his past that he is ashamed so he
hides it away in Thornfield while Jane begins to feel some freedom because she is finding a type of
family who cares for

  • 2. How Did Nina Simone Influence The Civil Rights Movement The soulful queen of R B, blues, and jazz stood as a figure of raw talent, resilience, and most of all grace. She captured the essence of a strong black woman. She emerged in the 50 s and 60 s, captivating people with her raspy voice and beautiful music training. As a devoted Civil Rights activists, Ms. Simone used her platform as a singer to fight the cause. She was known for songs such as Mississippi Goddam, Young, Gifted and Black and Feeling Good . She didn t feed on fame, she used it to expand the work that others were doing. Before she would be known as Nina Simone, on February 21, 1933, in Tryon, North Carolina, Eunice Kathleen Waymon was born. As a young girl, playing piano in church she felt, I was a black girl and I knew about it. She realised the effect of racism when the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia rejected her application because she was black. After ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She sought to sing the truth and share it to anyone that would listen. She inspired many performers including Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, and Lauryn Hill. Lauryn Hill wrote because I fed on this music ... I believed I always had a right to have a voice. Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift (Lauryn Hill). Indeed that was true, Nina Simone inspired a new generation of talented artists to have the courage to express their talents. Her voice continues to live on through television and film soundtracks. Two documentaries on Nina Simone s life were released in 2015: The Amazing Nina Simone, directed by Jeff L. Lieberman and What Happened, Miss Simone?, from Netflix. The project s detailed hard aspects of Simone s life. The project s included the abuse Simone endured from her ex husband and also the aduse her daughter received from her mother. Tegan + Hrad Technika Case Kriti Paliwal The case identifies struggle and problem faced by organizations outsourcing IT projects and allows us to ponder on how to manage outsourcing well. Case Questions: 1. What do you think caused the current situation with respect to Tegan s A/P system development project outsourced to Hrad Technika? The A/P outsourcing project failed miserably, as an outcome of multiple mistakes from both the companies, this case explores major mistakes an organization can make to cause such a fiasco. Below are the causes which contributes to this failure. Approach of outsourcing should be followed when there is a lack of expertise required for the development of that project. Outsourcing comes with huge number of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... linear approach but the linear approach demands for appropriate requirements and analysis at the very start of the project, and the A/P system project clearly demanded an iterative approach as described in the case, the fluctuating requirements made it impractical to have been completed in the decided time, also waterfall method leads to increasing cost and time, and thus is not appropriate under the fixed price contract because there are no adjustments for any scope change, so, here because of wrong contract agreement, incorrect methodology, directly constituted to high governance costs for Tegan. Tegan failed to impart proper knowledge of its A/P system to Hrad due to lack of sufficient personnel and expertise in that area, as per the case, only one employee was there (Julia Jones) who was having the functional knowledge of the current system and was solely responsible to interact and review the low level designs (LLDs), which resulted in the backlog of reviews and thus Hrad was not able to iterate as required. One more integral factor which led to the failure of this outsourcing was the lack of leadership and commitment for the project from both the ends. Tegan did not show its commitment to the project because first, it failed to deploy adequate expertise to facilitate the review ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Globalisation and Australian Automotive Industry Globalisation and World Today globalization is essentially a synonym for global business. Globalization is changing the world we live in at a very increasingly rapid pace (Rodrik., 1997). Changes in technology, communication, and transportation are opening up borders and markets at increasing rates. In any large city in any country, Japanese cars ply the streets, a mobile call can be enough to buy equities from a stock exchange half a world away, local businesses could not function without U.S. computers, and foreign multinationals have taken over large segments of service industries. Stages of Human Nature Essay the more profoundly a man thinks, the more tenderly he feels, the more highly he rates himself, the greater the distance grows between him and the other animals the more he appears as the genius among the animals the closer he will get to the true nature of the world and to a knowledge of it: this he does in fact do through science. ~Friedrich Nietzsche1 Stages of Human Nature Throughout history, human beings have encountered many changes that have altered the way society has viewed them. The cruel hands of history, which constantly hold the foundation of the mind and the spirit, have shaped human nature. Knowledge is the tool by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is what history makes him. History keeps him in constant movement. For many people in the early 18th century, life was based on subsistence living. An individualís human nature was dictated by their bloodline and their social position was secured by birth. If a man was born a peasant, he stayed a peasant, and he died a peasant. This theory of blood can be summed up in one statement: You are what you bleed. People viewed their environment within the confines of localism, which is limiting life to a locality, and described it as ìnasty, brutish, and shortî because of the subsistence lifestyle they led in an agrarian, nature based society. An individualís inherent qualities, their ways of life, the very spirit of his nature, were completely encumbered to the process of survival. The individual did not exist to express their being or their mind. The difficulties of this life led to collectiveness among people of common blood. Human ingenuity, the desire to be free, and the ability to reason for themselves, instead of living by the divinely bestowed power of an absolute monarch, did not exist in the first half of the 18th century. Human nature was bland, oppressed, and uncreative. It was contained within the walls of ancestry, chained by subsistence and localism, and oppressed by a central rulerís power that could not be questioned because of the fear of God. • 6. Mother Son Conflict In The Odyssey There is a common theme in Greek Mythology of children fighting with, overthrowing, and often killing their parents. Zeus kills his father Cronus to rise to power as the king of the Olympian gods. Prior to this, Cronus had killed his own father, Uranus, which lead to the rise of the Titans. Perhaps you re confused. No one kills their parents in the books we read in class, you re probably thinking. In this, you are correct. However, Telemachus relationship with his mother Penelope still fits some aspects of this trope of struggling in the assumption of power from his parents. His murder of the maids at his father s command is influenced by his attempting to prevail in this mother son conflict. In order to present this concept in my media project, I created a comic detailing Telemachus hypothetical thought process, the people and statements I d imagine were passing through his mind the moment before he murdered the maids. In doing so, I can justify my thesis. Sections from the comic and the quotations that go along with them will appear on the screen behind me as I provide literary analysis, and at the end I ll show the comic in full. To begin, in order to prove the murders were influenced by the conflict, it must first be proven that there is a conflict. Shortly after the introductory section of the Odyssey, we see Telemachus telling his mother to go back to her quarters and tend to her distaff and loom . Then, he reminds her he holds the reins of power in their house. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Civil Liberties And Airport Security Are the civil liberties of the citizens of the United States sacrificed during the airport security checks with the use of body scanners for the sake of national security? This week thousands of Americans will board airplanes to head to their Thanksgiving destinations, and they will need to undergo several security checks in order to advance to their flight. Since September 11, 2001, the vulnerability and fear arose in the United States citizens about the security tactics in place to protect our nation. One area of concern was the airport security measures that allowed al Qaeda and their associates to take control of United State s airplanes to carry out their plan of attack. The fear of another terrorist attack taking place on the airplanes resulted in extraordinary security tactics immediately emerging to protect the citizens. Further instances of other threats required more advanced security equipment to be installed, such as the body scanners. Statistics revealed there were an estimated 793 scanners (full body scanners) in use in March 2016 in more than 157 airports in the United States (Jansen). All of these security measures have taken place with the expense of sacrificing civil liberties. Although, the body scanners were developed to protect the people, the civil liberties of the United States citizens are sacrificed for the sake of national security through invasion of privacy, inefficiencies, misuse, and expense. In her essay The Pink Plastic Flamingo: A Natural History , Jennifer Price explains both the impact that the iconic decoration had on American and what it says about American culture as a whole. Price expertly crafts the text using powerful diction to explain the significance of the pink flamingo, allusions to cultural icons to demonstrate the easily influenced nature of Americans, and sarcasm and irony to explain and highlight America s consumeristic and materialistic culture. A pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s natural pacemaker sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system. Electrostimulation is needed when the heart cannot generate electrical signals by itself. A pacemaker electrically stimulates the heart and consists of a battery, pulse generator, wires and electrodes. Functionally, the pacemaker must match the action (electrical) potential produced by a working sinus node (Testing a Pacemaker 2016). The battery generates power for the pacing system. It produces electricity as a result of a chemical reaction. In its simplest form a battery consists of an anode, electrolyte, separator and cathode. Pacemaker batteries are composed of Lithium Iodine. Lithium acts as an anode and provides electrons and the Iodine acts as a cathode, receiving electrons. The anode and cathode are separated by electrolytes which serves as a conductor of ionic movement but as a barrier to electron transfers (Butler, n.d). The battery voltage depends on the chemical composition of the Lithium Iodine. At the Beginning of Life (BOL) of the battery produces around 2.8 volts. At the Elective Replacement Indicator point in which 90% of battery life has been used the battery generates at around 2.4 volts. Unfortunately, women in history also faced discrimination by not having much of the same rights as men did. More specifically, when looking at the history of the Greeks, one can clearly point out gender inequality in everyday life, law, and even literature. Athenian women were the subjects of bias in day to day life. A women s property was controlled by her father until she entered an arranged marriage, usually at the age of fourteen. Her husband would then supervise her and that was because it was believed that a woman could not act independently ( PAGE NUMBER). If they left the house or attended court they were accompanied by a male. They didn t receive formal educations and couldn t act in plays. Women essentially couldn t do anything. Women were seen as inferior to men and therefore were treated like such. This idea bled into the belief that women should do things at home while the man goes off to work. • 31. The Consequences Of Video Game Violence In Video Games Violence in video games is well known for toeing the line between entertainment and immorality. The controversy began as early as 1976, when protestors destroyed an arcade game that revolved around hitting human like creatures with a car. As computers grew more advanced in the next two decades, video game violence became increasingly realistic ( Background of the Issue ). This prompted the creation of the Entertainment Software Rating Board, commonly abbreviated ESRB, in 1994 for parents to make informed decisions regarding the content their children were exposed to. The 1999 shooting at Columbine High School fueled the debate further, drawing potential connections between virtual violence and real world consequences ( Background of the Issue ). In the years following, laws regarding the sale of video games with graphic violence sprouted up across the nation. Even the Supreme Court was involved ( Background of the Issue ). Today, as many as 97% of US kids age 12 17 play video games, contributing to the $21.53 billion domestic video game industry ( Violent Video Games ). Critics of video game violence argue that it directly increases a person s violent behavior and lowers their tendency to act for the benefit of others. Defenders of video game violence argue that media coverage of video game violence is heavily biased, studies that link it to acts of violence are flawed, and that video game violence is a harmless outlet for emotions of aggression. Critics of violence in video games believe that it increases an adolescent s tendency toward violent actions. Multiple credible organizations also view playing violent video games as a statistical detail affecting a person s aggressive tendency. Over 98% of American pediatricians say that children and teens become more aggressive when exposed to violent media such as a violent video game ( Violent Video Games ). The FBI uses an individual s violent video game history to assess the risk of a school shooting threat. The American Psychological Association cites frequent violent video game exposure as a risk factor that contributes to violence in teens ( Violent Video Games ). Some groups that are against video game violence go as far as to list it as a primary cause ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since its launch in 1948, the NHS has grown to become the world s largest publicly funded health service together with one of the largest employers in the world . However throughout the past decade the demand for health care has been rising radically and with the continuous need to be accountable for public spending the NHS has been put under immense pressure to be cost effective at the same time as achieving their prime objective of improving the standard of care (NHS Choices, 2010). 1.1 Human resource management is crucial to the success of this goal since it identifies the increasing recognition that health care ... It would therefore be beneficial for human resource management to understand culture disparities that may affect the way in which a message is perceived (Culturaldiversisty.org, 2008). Cultural diversity not only causes interferences within verbal communication but also in the way non verbal communication is perceived. In relation to the cultural variations within non verbal communication, body language is often misconstrued. For example when the British are talking face to face they tend to look away spasmodically , in contrast to this the Norwegians typically look people steadily in their eyes without altering their gaze, thus a British individual communicating with a Norwegian could portray this eye contact as threatening and a wrong perception of that person may be perceived (Mullins, 2005, p231). 3.1 As the prime objective of the NHS care system is to provide optimal care for all UK citizens, and with a multicultural country as our own, cultural competence ought to be manifested at every level within the NHS organization to ensure there are no damaging effects. Missunderstandings may lead to missdiagonosis, thus practitioners and nurses along with managers should all be culturaly aware. • 34. Freedom In A Caged Bird In Maya Angelou s famous poem Caged Bird, she writes The caged bird sings of freedom. Although Angelou was born many years after Jane Eyre became popular in the Victorian Age, Bronte s message of finding one s independence when they are trapped in a situation or relationship has continued throughout time. In Charlotte Brontё s Jane Eyre, bird imagery is used to represent the lack of freedom that poor and low class Victorian woman like Jane had in their life but Bronte wanted to show through Jane that with bravery, strength and money; women are able to fight becoming a caged bird and can make a fulfilling and financially stable life on their own. Rochester believes throughout the whole novel that he is an expert at reading people which he tries to prove by disguising himself as a gypsy fortune teller for Jane and his friends. Before this strange act when Rochester and Jane have their first discussion, he tries to read Jane by saying at intervals the glance of a curious sort of bird through the close set bars of a cage: a vivid, restless, resolute captive is there; were it but free, it would soar cloud high. (263) Rochester describes Jane as a caged bird wishing to be free because Jane is stuck teaching at Thornfield which is located far away from the nearest town which magnifies Jane s feeling of isolation. Rochester sees that she could be powerful which is why throughout Jane s time at Thornfield he is constantly trying to prove his dominance. As much as Rochester tries to win over Jane, she resists him exclaiming I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you. (483) The discovery of Bertha helps Jane to realize she could become a trapped and crazy woman if she stayed with Rochester. This revelation helps Jane to break out of the cage that is Thornfield and soar cloud high just like Rochester predicted. Fuller discusses both sides of Thornfield that Jane finds a great deal of liberty in the grounds of Thornfield, but for Rochester they represent as much of a prison as Jane s garden at Lowood. The irony of how one place can feel like home to one person but a prison to another is demonstrated through Thornfield. Rochester has a part of his past that he is ashamed so he hides it away in Thornfield while Jane begins to feel some freedom because she is finding a type of family who cares for ... For some, dogs are more than a man s best friend. They are used for assistance for people with disabilities. Military, police service and people with mental disabilities are helped therapeutically by these furry animals. With approximately 78.2 million dogs in the United States, approximately 39 percent of U.S households owns at least one dog.
