Huffman Trucking: Benefits Election System
Huffman Trucking Company has requested a new Benefits Election System to be implemented within
the organization. The current benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision plans for
employees. For the Benefit Election System, employee information and the benefit package they
choose are stored and managed on a database system. This can either be a hardcopy paper file or an
electronic file. Regardless of the storage method, security measures need to ... Show more content on

By utilizing a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, individuals and
corporations alike can determine where their weak spots are and attempt to correct them prior to the
risk occurring. Taking into consideration the Benefits Election System, there are several potential risks
within the systems. These risks include database corruption, spyware, and hacking.
Database Corruption
Database corruption is one potential safety concern for the Benefits Election System. Database
corruption comes in several forms including viruses and worms. Viruses act as a real program that is
installed on the computer or network and every time the program is accessed the virus spreads to other
programs until the system and/or computer essentially crashes. On the other hand, worms attack the
security holes within a network. Like viruses, worms attach themselves to holes within the security of
the network. Once worms have attached to the network the worm then scans for other networks with
holes to replicate. This kind of corruption to the system can lead to loss and damage of information on
the system. Anti corruption software is readily available in today s market which reduces

Rural Poverty Stricken County Of Hale County
Hale County
Hale County, considered one of the most poverty stricken rural counties in Alabama. Located in the
west section of Alabama. Hale County shares borders with Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Marengo, and
Greene counties. Hale County once referred to as the Black Belt was once known for its rich soil and
crop production. Currently the cash produce is catfish. The county has a lot of catfish ponds. The
switch to catfish farms allowed the county to move away from producing cotton. The county is named
after Confederate Officer Stephen Hale who died during the Civil War. The county was established in
1867. The goal of this essay is to inform readers about rural poverty stricken county of Hale.
According to the 2013 Census, there were 15,760 people residing in Hale County. Breakdown consist
of 59.0% were African American, 39.8% Caucasian, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% Native American, 0.3% of
unknown race and 0.6% of mixed race 0.9% were Hispanic or Latino (www.archives.state.al.us).
Census information from 2000 is higher, the population then was 17,185. The county is losing
community members due to the lack of jobs. Many articles suggest jobs are the only thing causing
people to leave Hale County. Research shows that many enjoy the communities, the schools and their
neighbors. The thought of relying on neighbors is somewhat comforting but, a practice of the past.
Many feel they should leave and seek higher goals.
The median income for a household in the county was $25,807,

Disadvantages Of Travel Nursing
The scope of nursing clinical practice goes beyond the treatment of a patient s illness, but is altruistic
in nature; however, the dearth of nursing staff in hospitals has created a caveat in quality of care
motivating the use of travel nursing agencies. To alleviate the health disparities between U.S.
geographic locations, agencies contract nurses through attractive recruiting processes. The
qualifications required for travel nursing and the rationale behind this subset in the nursing profession
will be further corroborated, as well as the consequent quality of life for patients, traveling nurses, and
permanent working staffs affected by travel nursing agencies.
As has been noted, agencies recruit potential travel nurses for temporary assignments. The allure of
being paid to travel to a new location every few weeks is enough for most nurses to want to sign with
a traveling agency, but these agencies ensure their acquisition by incentive. In an online article, Loree
(2016) describes grand prizes the aspiring traveling nurse could potentially obtain; however, the only
prerequisite is having been or currently being employed with a specific health care agency (para. 4 5).
The enticement of additional compensations increases the likelihood of the nurse to enter into the
traveling subset and specifically with said agency. These methods implemented are not to be confused
with the idea that agencies are subservient to the nurses for potential hire, for the nurses must meet

Teen Pregnancy And Its Effect On Children
My mother always said You are a princess and your body is a temple, so treat it like one . As I grew
up, that was the phrase that made a profound impact on my childhood. My parents felt that for me to
be confident and successful, I would have to be at peace emotionally and physically during the most
crucial years of my growth. They always said Do not become another one of the statistics! . In my
early teenage years I believed that they kept me sheltered, but now in my freshmen year of college, I
could not be more thankful for their guidance and protection. At the time I did not understand what
she meant, but after my years in high school it all made sense. I, like many other teens, would gain
knowledge on relationships and sexuality. In this country teen pregnancy has high increase in
minorities, one of the main reasons why the population is expanding. It is through proper knowledge
of sexuality and protection that female teens are able to prevent pregnancy.
Coming from a family of immigrants, I have many life goals. I always enjoyed school and participated
in extracurricular activities. My parents emphasized that keeping myself healthy and well rounded
would grant me virtue and confidence. All of middle and high school I played tennis for my school
and club team. While I kept myself fit, my coaches and mentors continually motivated me, even when
I struggled. Outside of class, I participated in Model United Nations and spent a great amount of time

Summary Of Warren St. John s Outcasts United
In Warren St. John s Outcasts United, the reader witnesses the struggles Luma Mufleh faces as she
tries to get a suitable soccer field for her soccer teams composed of refugee immigrants from nations
ravaged with war and terrorism; the conflicts she faces allows the reader to examine the changes (or
lack thereof) that are happening/have happened across the world, even in our own hometowns.
Without a doubt, the people of Clarkston are reluctant to accept the change that was beginning to
envelope the town and that is the attitude that exemplifies the xenophobia that locks the closed minds
of many Americans today. Truly, Luma would have had fewer problems acquiring the field necessary
for the team to safely practice had they been a group of white ... Show more content on

However, it is not just Luma who faced struggles in the story, such discrimination was experienced by
an African immigrant by the name of Chike Chime who suffered police brutality and an extended stay
in the local jail for doing nothing wrong other than having dark skin pigmentation and knowing the
rights that American laws provide him, such actions that have caused a recent uproar in cities across
the United States. This sudden influx in violence is not new as it has always been the belief that
immigrants should have to conform to American standards when they arrive. In fact, when St. John
interviewed the police officer responsible for the discriminatory actions against Chime, his response
was They re in America now. Not Africa. Although these immigrants and refugees have experienced a
total upheaval of all that they have known, they are expected to further change their heritage and
values to fit the template that middle class, white Americans have set. These changes in themselves are
often hard enough for these men and women to accept, however, those most affected by the
adjustment are most likely the children. Children such as those who constitute the

Value Of Value Proposition Essay
Discussion of how value propositions delivery value in different aspects
Background and concept definition
The term value proposition was first mentioned by Michael Lanning and Edward Michaels in a 1988
staff paper, they think value proposition has a function of delivering value in a business. A clear and
simple statement of the benefit and price which firm can provide to its customer. However, the rapid
development of business management, there are some argues of this term, and the concept is changing.
A value proposition not only is a statement, it should be a consequence after researching customers
need.
In practices, a successful value proposition needs to recognize the target consumer and their
expectations, and the way to meet the demand of the consumers. This means that the company could
provide a clear solution of optimizing time, performance and cost for their consumer, which not only
create competitive advantage for themselves, also for their consumer.
The strategic importance of the value proposition
To gain a strategically success on a company s business means they need to choose the right
consumer, or make the right products suitable for specific consumers who are willing to pay for it. In
this case, company usually develop a product which has its own value, after procurement and
manufacturing, they sell it to consumers, and normally the product come with afterward services, also
marketing would add additional value to the product, for example, the value of

Sarbanes-Oxley s Code Of Ethics
First, we need to grasp how Codes of ethics were created and if formulated from a standard boilerplate
Ethics program. As stated by FindLaw.com under Corporate Ethics and Sarbanes Oxley, in order to
create code of ethics, an organization must define its most important guiding values, formulate
behavioral standards to illustrate the application of those values to the roles and responsibilities of the
persons affected, review the existing procedures for guidance and direction as to how those values and
standards are typically applied, and establish the systems and processes to ensure that the code is
implemented and effective. (Navran, 2003) A company can work to promote ethical behavior;
however, the process is not easily created from boilerplate. (Navran, 2003) The process has been
broken into five sections which can be seen below from Corporate.FindLaw.com, on the same page by

alternative thinking molded societey into the remarkable place it is today. Mark Zuckerberg, Steve

Roughly a decade after founding Facebook Zuckerberg truly demonstrated his generosity by signing
up for a pledge known as The Giving Pledge. In effort to help solve humanity s dilemmas, Warren
Buffet and Bill Gates founded the pledge, which is intended to encourage the wealthiest humans on
the planet to donate at least half of their earnings to philanthropic causes. At only 30 years of age to
have the moderation, maturity and especially the generosity to join the pledge is something I truthfully
admire. Improving time and work management has been a goal I have set for myself the last couple of
years. How Mark Zuckerberg managed his time and the work that Harvard and the creation of billion
dollar idea takes is something I would like to experience how. College in its self is hard enough, and
going to Harvard is demanding, but materializing a multibillion dollar idea while at Harvard is just
way beyond insane. How he made Facebook successful under the circumstances he was already

Explain How And When Did The Earth Produce Its Core,...
How and when did the Earth produce its core, mantle and continental crust?
It has been known for well over a century now that the Earth s core, mantle and the crust make up the
basic structure of the Earth. However, there is some controversy over how and when the Earth
produced its core, mantle and crust. In this essay, I will first discuss about the formation of the Early
Earth and its Moon, then about the methods used to pinpoint the age of the Earth. Other than that, I
will also expand on core and mantle formation, as well as the eventual production of the continental
crust.

FORMATION OF THE MOON
Many believe that while Early Earth was undergoing accretion, it had a massive collision with a large
body as huge as the size of Mars (see Fig. 2.). This collision produced a shower of debris around the
Earth and thrusted it into space (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). According to this theory, the Earth
reformed as a boy with an outer molten layer hundreds of kilometres thick a magma ocean.
(Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). Marshak (2007) deduced that the Moon was formed from the accretion
of the debris floating around the Earth. He also suggested that the Moon s composition resembles that
of the mantle because of the way the Mars sized body collided with the Earth. From this, we can
assume that when the collision happened it did not disturb the Earth s iron nickel core that was already
formed. The formation of the Moon must have happened 4.51 billion years ago between the early
stages of the accretion of the Earth which was 4.56 billion years ago,) and the formation of the oldest
Moon rocks brought back by the Apollo astronauts (4.47 billion years ago,) (Grotzinger and Jordan,
2010).

Comparison Of Alexander Pope, Aristotle And William...
Poems vs. Prose
(A comparison between Alexander Pope, Aristotle and William Woodsworth compared to Virginia
Woolf.) Virgina Woolf was one of the most gifted modernists writers. She started writing novels and
trying to compete with others, but she had her own views. She took a stance on poets and people who
wrote prose. With her unique style she chose to write in letterform. Her ideas were similar to three
other prominent writes. William Woodsworth who was born in 1770 was a prominent writer whose
writing was challenged when the war started. He was an orphan and started writing. Eventually he was
an influential writer, but took a slightly different stance on prose and poetry then Virginia Woolf.
Alexander Pope who was born almost a hundred years earlier was also a writer that many people
admired. He showed London and the world his only feelings and his views, which were similar to
Woolf. Lastly, the oldest poet Aristotle who was born in 385 B.C. was a Greek who changed writing.
He also published their views. While there were many years that separated these individuals they all
described an idea that was based off of prose versus poets. All held a high position in society, but
show different ideas. Alexander Woolf wrote a letter that held similar ideas to Aristotle, Alexander
Pope and William Woodsworth. Aristotle held his own personal views regarding prose and poets that
were similar to Virginia Woolf. Both Aristotle and Woolf believed that people needed to be united in

The Parable Of The Good Seed
Poetry is oftentimes filled with several literary elements, but many make a single one its main focus.
This same concept is seen with the poems The Parable of the Good Seed by Matthew, Love Calls Us
to the Things of This World by Richard Wilbur, and The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats. All
three poets focus on the same allusion of religion throughout their poems all in their own unique way.
Each alludes to ideas outside of the actual poem by incorporating religious structures and beliefs.
Whether its literature straight from the Christian Bible or their interpretation of its promised afterlife,
each of these poems includes allusion that makes the reader wonder about these unearthly, eternal
ideas. By recognizing and going into depth of each of their allusions, we accomplish the Student
Outcome of being able to identify and demonstrate the use of the basic structural element of allusion
in poetry. The Parable of the Good Seed by Matthew is pulled directly from the Bible. Because of this
connection, its allusion to religion is quite clear. The best part of this poem, in my opinion, is its strong
connection to God as the father and sinners as the son with hardly mentioning religion. Matthew
perfectly describes the relationship between God and his children on earth flawlessly without blatantly
stating it and using a comparison to explain its complexities. Religion is specifically alluded to in the
very beginning where it says, The kingdom of heaven is

Euthanasia Is A Form Of Doctor Assisted Suicide
Euthanasia is a form of doctor assisted suicide. There are many different types of Euthanasia and all
are currently illegal in the United States with the exception of the state of Oregon. When a patient is
being Euthanized they can be given an injection intravenously which causes their death this is called
Euthanasia by action. A person could also be assisted to death through euthanasia by omission; this is
when the patient is not provided with the appropriate things such as food or water. Also patients can be
given a medication that renders them into a deep sleep in which they are left to die, either through the
progression of their illness or through starvation. The most important aspect of doctor assisted suicide
is whether it is voluntary, involuntary or non voluntary. The difference between non voluntary and
involuntary is that non voluntary is when the patient does not request to be euthanized but they are.
Involuntary euthanization is when a person specifically asks that they not be euthanized and they are.
Although euthanasia is illegal some forms of it are still regularly practiced in today s healthcare
system. Euthanasia dates back to as early as 1828 when the first law was written to outlaw anyone
from providing a person with a dangerous weapon and or a harmful chemical that would knowingly be
used in the taking of a person s own life. This would include taking the life of another person with
their permission. In 1920 the book Permitting the Destruction of Life

Voting Age Voting
In the most recent election in 2016 only 59% of Americans voted. Many people today see this as a
major issue; however, a major argument has risen on how to solve this problem. One of the solutions
that have been considered is lowering the voting age to 16 to get younger Americans votes. However
many Americans think that this is crazy to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. The clear and only
answer to this contentious question is that 16 and 17 year olds should not be able to vote. As stated
before 16 and 17 year olds should not be allowed to vote because sixteen and seventeen year olds are
not mature enough, their opinions can be easily swayed or changed based on what others think, and
they are not educated enough on politics in order to vote. To begin, Americans under the age of
eighteen should not be allowed to vote because they aren t mature enough. Headcount.org points out
that, Minors, according to current laws are not mature enough to take part in consuming alcohol, [or]
tobacco... is voting any different? (Debanno n.pag.) In other words, if sixteen year olds are not old
enough to handle these substances then they are clearly not mature enough to vote. In the article For
and Against: lowering voting age, it states that, 18 year olds may think that they know everything but
they really do not. (Blacklock n.pag.) In other words, what this article is saying that if some 18 year
olds are not mature enough to vote then we shouldn t even be considering lowering our voting

Depression And Anxiety And Depression
Although anxiety and depression may seem to be separate categories of symptoms, as outlined in the
DSM 5 (APA, 2013), and therefore different, many theorists posit that there is an underlying set of
factors for both (Clark, Steer Beck, 1994, Clark Watson, 1991). Such commonalities between the
diagnoses may explain the common comorbidity (Wittchen, Zhao, Kessler, Eaton, 1994). The high
comorbidity between anxiety and mood disorders exacerbates the debate on the distinguish ability of
the constructs (Andrews, 1996).
One central component of anxiety and depression is the anticipation of negative future outcomes
(Miranda, Mennin, 2007). This has been found across a wide age range, from adolescents to adults
(Kagan, MacLeod, Pote, 2004). However, depression and anxiety differ in that those with higher
depression scores tend to also anticipate a low chance of positive future outcomes (MacLeod, Tata,
Kentish, Jacobsen, 1997). Not only do individuals with depression differ from anxious individuals
with regards to low anticipation of positive outcomes, they also differ from non depressed individuals
in that they are more likely to hold such pessimistic beliefs about the future (Anderson, 1990). This
supports the tripartite model (Clark Watson, 1991) of high anticipation of negative outcomes, and low
anticipation of positive outcomes.

The tripartite model of depression (Clark Watson, 1991) states that the differences in anxiety and
depression can be

Execution of Project Through Generalization and...
Introduction:
Execution of the project:
Execution of the project (implementation phase of the project) proceeds on correct lines, the data to be
collected would be adequate and dependable. The researcher should see that the project is executed in
a systematic manner and in time. If the survey is to be conducted by structured questionnaires, data
can be readily machine processed. In such situation, questions as well as the possible answers may be

selection and training of the interviewers. Steps should be taken to ensure that the survey is under

A high budget research project might take a smaller sample from every school in the country; a lower
budget operation may have to concentrate upon one city or even a single school.
The key to generalization is to understand how much your results can be applied backwards to
represent the group of children, as a whole. The first example, using every school, would be a strong
representation, because the range and number of samples is high. Testing one school makes
generalization difficult and affects the external validity.
You might find that the individual school tested generates better results for children using that
particular educational program.
However, a school in the next town might contain children who do not like the system. The students
may be from a completely different socioeconomic background or culture. Critics of your results will
pounce upon such discrepancies and question your entire experimental design.
Most statistical tests contain an inbuilt mechanism to take into account sample sizes with larger groups
and numbers, leading to results that are more significant.
The problem is that they cannot distinguish the validity of the results, and determine whether your
generalization systems are correct. This is something that must be taken into account when generating
a hypothesis and designing the experiment.
The other option, if the sample groups are small, is to use proximal similarity and restrict your
generalization.

The Republic by Plato Essay
The Republic by Plato
At the beginning of Book I, we are introduced to the narrator, Socrates, and his audience of peers. We
are made aware, however, of Socrates special charm and intellectual gifts through the insistence of
Polemarchus and the other men for the pleasure of his company. The tone is casual and language and
modes of expression rather simple, as is commonly the case in Plato s dialogues. However, Plato s
unaffected style serves at least two purposes. For one it belies the complexity and elevation of the
ideas, thus it is in accord with Socrates characteristic irony itself, which draws the quot;fool quot; in
by feigned ignorance, only so that the master can show that he does not know what he thinks he
knows. And second, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates response (another question) clarifies his epistemology: quot;how can anyone answer who
knows, and says that he knows, just nothing?? quot; What Socrates knows is incommunicable other
than to say that he knows nothing. His philosophical speculations embody a process rather than a
philosophy. That is, Socrates method is in accord with the nature of inquiry and of intellectual
exploration itself: he is his style. And, acutely aware of this fact, Socrates repels every temptation
toward dogma, characterized by Thrasymachus complaints.
The second definition of justice, obedience to the interest of the stronger, is Thrasymachus veiled
justification for tyranny (might is right), and is foreshadowed in his indecorous demand for payment.
He is portrayed in sharp contrast to Socrates, who suggests that the stronger may not always know his
own interest; therefore, at times, it is necessary for the weaker to disobey him. Socrates then
successfully upsets the definition by demonstrating that, insofar as his role is an art, a ruler acts in the
best interest of his subjects, as exemplified by the physician for his patients and the captain for his
crew.
Still unresolved, the debate moves into a second stage, where tyranny, or perfect injustice, and
benevolent rule, or perfect justice, are evaluated against one another. Again, through a series of
examples, Socrates prevails the unjust man s pride and ambition are shown to be weaknesses,

Failure of the Russian Provisional Government
To a large extent the political predicament in Russia was unsuccessful due to the provisional
government holding power. The provisional government set policies that weren t under the autocratic
government which lead them to be favoured by the people of Russian, an example of these policies
included; freedom of speech, freedom of the press, Immediate preparations for a vote to elect a
constituent assembly consisting of representatives from the whole nation; when formed, the
provisional government will cease to exist and many others (Malone, 2009,P.108). However the
provisional government went back on to their policies and this manifested into the July days. Thru the
July days from 16th to the 19th over 568 factories closed down with the factories closing down this
made a huge impact on the economy as over 104000 workers loss their jobs (Malone, 2009,P.116)
which increased the unemployment dispute dramatically. The soldiers and industrial worker engages
in spontaneous demonstrations against the Russian Provisional Government. The Bolsheviks tried to
provide leadership to the demonstrations. However the military attacked the peaceful demonstrations
and engaged in repression against the Bolsheviks. During this repression Lenin went into hiding,
whilst other Bolshevik leaders were arrested (Malone, 2009,P, 115. P, 116). The aftermath of the July
Days signified a temporary deterioration of growth, power and influence to the Bolsheviks. By the end

The Death Of Sickle Cell Disease
The purpose of this essay it to determine whether or not Jonathon Jackson, a 30 year old air traffic
controller whom has been faithful to his company and job for over eight years that has recently
discovered he has sickle cell anemia, should be dismissed from his job regarding his genetic test
results. Sickle cell anaemia is the most severe form of sickle cell disease and is a genetic disease of the
red blood cells (Gibbons, 2015). Red blood cells have a disk like form which allows them the ability
to travel through blood vessels. Although in people with sickle cell, the red blood cells form an
abnormal crescent shape which makes them rigid and sticky as shown in Diagram 3 below. This
causes the sickled cells to get trapped in small vessels which blocks blood from reaching different
parts of the body leading to pain, tissue damage and many more symptoms (University of Utah, 2015).
The term anaemia comes from having a shortage of red blood cells in your blood which occurs
because sickled cells only last up to 10 20 days while normal red blood cells last approximately 120
days. The name sickle comes from an old farm tool known as a sickle as shown in Diagram 4 below
which represents the same shape as curved sickled cells (Petch, 2012). Sickle cell disease affects
millions of people worldwide and is most common in those who have ancestors from Africa, the
Mediterranean, The Arabian Peninsula and Spanish speaking areas in South America. People with

Home Ownership In America
THE DESIRE FOR HOME OWNERSHIP
One of the most powerful motivating forces behind the movement of people from
Europe and elsewhere to the United States, and from the east to the west within the
United States, has been the desire to own property and a home of one s own. In fact, this society is
distinctive in how widespread home ownership is here.
It s easy enough to understand why immigrants to America wanted to own land.
Many of them were unable to own land in their countries of origin, and America of fered not only
private ownership, but in many cases and for some time very inex pensive land, along with the
freedom to enjoy it. Why, then, has this desire to own real property persisted through the generations?

Discuss the view that class is still the most important factor influencing the way people vote
Voting behaviour is the way in which the individuals of the electorate vote. Typically this can be
divided into a sociological approach based on entrenched characteristics such as class, age and region
and rational choice approach based on individual decisions based on political issues, governance and
party leaders or image.
Between the years of 1945 1970 social class dominantly shaped the voting behaviour of individuals.
Whilst there has been a decline in prominence of class voting: Labour remains the most popular
working class party and Conservatives perform best among middle class voters. Social classes are
defined by economic and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conservatives receive an increasing percentage of votes in correlation with age and Lib Dem and
Labour have high performance among the younger groups. The writer G.B. Shaw once wrote that, If
you are not a socialist by the time you are 25, you have no heart. If you are not a Conservative by the
time you are 35, you have no head . There is the entrenched view that young people are more liberal
whilst as individuals grow older they become more set in their ways, more wedded to traditional
values and attitudes and more likely to believe that Conservative governments are more likely to
safeguard their financial and personal security which appear increasingly important in later life.
Considering this, surprisingly in the 2010 general election, the ages of 18 24 voted fairly equally
between the three main parties with the age bias gap only really becoming apparent from the age 55
onwards. This shows that younger prejudices and party alignment are not as ingrained as that of the
elderly meaning that old people may be influenced in their voting behaviour by their age but the same
is not as apparent for young people, despite the surface recognition that it is. Yet the implication of
young people sharing their votes between parties could be due to other factors, when

Essay about bounded rationality

Assignment 1: OVERALL STRUCTURE The following is an example of how this assignment might
look when finished. The word limits are indicated at the end of each section. This is neither an essay
or a report; it is simply an assignment with 3 sections. It does not need to have an introduction or a
conclusion. Clarity is achieved by clear section headings, and clear paragraphing.
NB: our example does not reach 1500 words; further paragraphs need to be written in sections 2 and 3.

Analysis of the Decision
Parker s budgeting decision is a good example of an individual acting with bounded rationality. This
term was introduced by Simon in 1957 (as cited in Tolbert Hall, 2008) to argue that normative models
of decision making, which assume fully rational and objective judgement (Teale, Dispenza, Flynn
Currie, 2003), are unrealistic because human rationality is limited. Parker s judgement may have
seemed rational to him, but it was not rational for the organisation, a subtle distinction about
rationality made by Storing (as cited in Tolbert Hall, 2008). Parker s judgement was also not rational
in that he did not have all available knowledge and awareness of risk, which are the conditions of
normative models (Teale et al, 2003) and the official theory of management (Anthony, as cited in
Teale et al, 2003, p. 14). For example, Parker did not know about the variations in the terrain when he
made his decision, and he also assumed that the assistant workers could work at the same physical rate
that he could. Both of these limitations were factors resulting in a risk to on time task completion.

Ageism In Our Society
Ageism also known as age discrimination has an enormous part in our society today. Many people
have experienced discrimination against their age daily, even in schools and workplaces. Why is this
important? Ageism can relate to everyone in the society; managers, employees, teachers, police
officers, principles, etc. For example in a workplace, there are questions you are not allowed to ask
during an interview, to your employees and coworkers, etc. Managers can get in trouble for saying
stuff like you can t do this because your too young , forcing someone to retire due to their age, not
interviewing someone due to their age, As an employer, you cannot be denied a job, training or
promotion, or forced to retire, because of your age, etc.
If you are experiencing age discrimination against you, you can make a human rights complaint by
contacting the human rights tribunal of Ontario. The Ontario Human Rights Code protects people
from discrimination under the ground of age. The Code defines age as 18 years or older However,
persons age 16 or older are protected from discrimination in housing if they are not living with their
parents also you cannot refuse to rent to younger people because you assume they won t be good
tenants.

Buying things can also be hard for younger people, buying a house, a car, electronics, etc. People will
judge you thinking that you will not able to afford the item. There are very few opportunities for
younger generations due to the fact that people are retiring later since our life expectancy is later, older
generations might need to find a job after they retire because they might need to pay for their kids if
they got fired or can t find a job due to age discrimination or paying back their kids education funds,
which means that the younger generation will have a hard time supporting the baby

How High Energy X Rays Are Used On A Crystal Essay
Figure 1: Top: Shows how high energy X rays are used on a crystal to create an XRD pattern (Law
2009). Bottom: An example XRD pattern for a sample point (Xue et al. 2016). Then the collected
XRD patterns are organized and the underlying structures are found. Meaning that for each library
there should be a small number of underlying XRD patterns, usually less than ten, such that every
pattern in the library can be reconstructed as a linear combination of these underlying patterns. These
underlying patterns can then be used to interpret the crystal structure of each sample point, as well as
give insights into the material properties of each sample point. These underlying XRD patterns are
often called a phase. This signal de mixing of material systems is referred to as the phase mapping
problem. Using traditional methods material scientists can process approximately ten XRD patterns
per day, whereas sample points are generated on the order of thousands per day (Gregoire et al. 2009;
2014). Clearly there is a need for a scalable algorithmic approach to address this problem. To address
this problem the novel solver AgileFD was created that is based on convolutive non negative matrix
factorization (cNMF), which has been previously used for source separation problems (Smaragdis
2004; Mørup and Schmidt 2006). AgileFD uses lightweight iterative update rules that allows for fast
solutions, on the order of minutes (Xue et al. 2016). However the many constraints that a solution

The Role of Queen Guinevere in King Arthur and His...
She is the most perdurable female figure in King Arthur and his Knights. Without her the suspense and
the plot flow could not have been achieved. Her influence has enabled her to penetrate into men s
world a trait that distinguishes her from the rest of the women. Knights are referred to as the queen s
knights. We could say the same of the ladies who accompany the queen and keep the knights in good
company (pg.52) .Queen Guinevere, as the King s wife, is acknowledged by males.
But despite her access to the Round Table, she has no legitimate power. She is a woman figure who
can be discarded as desired. Her presence in the male dominated arena is a source of discord among
them. She is resented as a threat to the bonds of men, an eventuality ... Show more content on

The debate on whether to sanction Queen Guinevere by death, or not, takes place between the Pope,
King Arthur and Sir Lancelot through letters. Men who are the source of women s suffering are the
same ones to redeem them from their bondage.
Although she is in more social limelight and higher status than other women, she suffers the same
humiliation as they do. She is stripped naked in front of her subjects. The homo social bond among the
Knights of the Round Table leaves no room for Guinevere. According to King Arthur, she is
substitutable whereas the Knights are not. For the king, she is an emblem of superiority and power
over the other knights.
Queen Guinevere is the only woman who does not fully conform to what is expected of her. She does
not passively consent to Mordred s intention to inherit her like an item. She makes use of the women s
persuasive power and feigns the desire to look good on their wedding day to pave her way out of
Mordred s captivity. She is the master of flirtation and she knows how to stroke the male ego.
All in all, Queen Guinevere mirrors what the male society expects of her by becoming a nun. She
blames the tragedy which has befallen the Kingdom on the romance. She is unaware that she was only
an instrument of the action but not the agent of it. She is neither an example as a Queen nor as a
woman to the women of her time as well as the readers of the 21st century.

The Environment Of A Soil Ecosystem
A soil ecosystem is composed of both living and non living matter with a diversity of interactions (The
Environmental Literacy Council, N.d.). This is a place where energy and matter are transformed and
transported. Analyses that can be used to assess the functioning of land ecosystems is abiotic
indicators, biological indicators, and atmospheric indicators. Abiotic indicators can include pH,
moisture, and temperature. Soil temperature and moisture are important environmental factors that
affect the conservation and physiology of earthworms (M.L. Presley et al, 1996). Biological indicators
can include earthworms, plants, and leaf litter. Atmospheric indicators include carbon dioxide
emissions. Interactions among these three indicators can also help to assess if the ecosystem is
functioning. It is hypothesized that a functioning ecosystem is related to many types of interactions,
such as earthworms eating leaf litter and leaf litter falling from the plants. It is predicted that IU has
good soil quality based on the fact is is near Jordan River, and there is a diversity of plant life
growing. What is the ecosystem s quality based on the interactions between leaf litter, soil, and
worms? The ecosystem is claimed to be functioning based on the biomass of the earthworms and leaf
litter and the pH, moisture, and temperature of the soil.

have issues related to infertility [2]. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is the technology used to

Hormonal Causes
Hormonal changes leading to the release of an egg from the ovary and the thickening of the
endometrium in preparation for the fertilized egg do not occur.
Causes of Male Infertility
The main causes of male infertility may include health or medical issues. This includes varicocele,
infections, antibodies in which attack sperm cells, drug use or weight and many more [9].
Varicocele
A varicocele is a swelling of the veins that drain the testicle. It s the most common reversible cause of
male infertility [9].
Infections
Some infections can interfere with sperm production or sperm health or can cause scarring that blocks
the passage of sperm. These include epididymitis (epididymis inflation) and orchitis (testicles) [9].
Antibodies Attacking Sperm
Anti sperm antibodies are immune system cells that mistakenly identify sperm as harmful invaders
and attempt to eliminate them [9].
Illicit Drug Use
Anabolic steroids taken to stimulate muscle strength and growth can cause the testicles to shrink and
sperm production to decrease or mute. Cocaine or marijuana use may also reduce sperm production
[9].

India s Ban On Tobacco Advertising
India in 2001 proposed a ban on tobacco advertisement in an effort to curb tobacco use with
adolescents. It was met with sharp criticism from the tobacco industry. However, some saw it as a
great move by the government in looking after the welfare of its citizens. I hope to explore in the
essay each side s voice as well as deal with the myriad of issues the government faced upon the bans
proposal. Lastly I will give my opinion on what position the government should take. One the main
arguments for this proposed ban was that the tobacco industry was targeting children. In fact citing an
internal documents from the tobacco industry that referred to 14 to 24 year olds as their targets
(Reynold, 2010). Recognizing this report for India was extremely important. Due to the increased
health problems of smoking by targeting a younger age bracket they would effectively increase the
weight the government had to carry when it comes to providing health care for its citizens. The
government also had in its favor the fact that in all but one case smoking use by young people had
decreased when these bans where put in effect. The government s argument for banning tobacco ads
can be summed up pretty simply. They were trying to watching out for the safety of their citizens and
were working toward the betterment of India. The government had the advantage of being able to take
the moral high road and being able to paint the tobacco industry as the devil . The Nays in this case
were represented

Gardner CMGT442: Information Systems Risk Management March 19, 2012 Craig McCormick Huffman Trucking: Benefits Election System Huffman Trucking Company has requested a new Benefits Election System to be implemented within the organization. The current benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision plans for employees. For the Benefit Election System, employee information and the benefit package they choose are stored and managed on a database system. This can either be a hardcopy paper file or an electronic file. Regardless of the storage method, security measures need to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By utilizing a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, individuals and corporations alike can determine where their weak spots are and attempt to correct them prior to the risk occurring. Taking into consideration the Benefits Election System, there are several potential risks within the systems. These risks include database corruption, spyware, and hacking. Database Corruption Database corruption is one potential safety concern for the Benefits Election System. Database corruption comes in several forms including viruses and worms. Viruses act as a real program that is installed on the computer or network and every time the program is accessed the virus spreads to other programs until the system and/or computer essentially crashes. On the other hand, worms attack the security holes within a network. Like viruses, worms attach themselves to holes within the security of the network. Once worms have attached to the network the worm then scans for other networks with holes to replicate. This kind of corruption to the system can lead to loss and damage of information on the system. Anti corruption software is readily available in today s market which reduces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hale County shares borders with Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Marengo, and Greene counties. Hale County once referred to as the Black Belt was once known for its rich soil and crop production. Currently the cash produce is catfish. The county has a lot of catfish ponds. The switch to catfish farms allowed the county to move away from producing cotton. The county is named after Confederate Officer Stephen Hale who died during the Civil War. The county was established in 1867. • 4. Disadvantages Of Travel Nursing The scope of nursing clinical practice goes beyond the treatment of a patient s illness, but is altruistic in nature; however, the dearth of nursing staff in hospitals has created a caveat in quality of care motivating the use of travel nursing agencies. To alleviate the health disparities between U.S. geographic locations, agencies contract nurses through attractive recruiting processes. The qualifications required for travel nursing and the rationale behind this subset in the nursing profession will be further corroborated, as well as the consequent quality of life for patients, traveling nurses, and permanent working staffs affected by travel nursing agencies. As has been noted, agencies recruit potential travel nurses for temporary assignments. The allure of being paid to travel to a new location every few weeks is enough for most nurses to want to sign with a traveling agency, but these agencies ensure their acquisition by incentive. In an online article, Loree (2016) describes grand prizes the aspiring traveling nurse could potentially obtain; however, the only prerequisite is having been or currently being employed with a specific health care agency (para. 4 5). The enticement of additional compensations increases the likelihood of the nurse to enter into the traveling subset and specifically with said agency. These methods implemented are not to be confused with the idea that agencies are subservient to the nurses for potential hire, for the nurses must meet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Teen Pregnancy And Its Effect On Children My mother always said You are a princess and your body is a temple, so treat it like one . As I grew up, that was the phrase that made a profound impact on my childhood. My parents felt that for me to be confident and successful, I would have to be at peace emotionally and physically during the most crucial years of my growth. They always said Do not become another one of the statistics! . In my early teenage years I believed that they kept me sheltered, but now in my freshmen year of college, I could not be more thankful for their guidance and protection. At the time I did not understand what she meant, but after my years in high school it all made sense. I, like many other teens, would gain knowledge on relationships and sexuality. In this country teen pregnancy has high increase in minorities, one of the main reasons why the population is expanding. It is through proper knowledge of sexuality and protection that female teens are able to prevent pregnancy. Coming from a family of immigrants, I have many life goals. I always enjoyed school and participated in extracurricular activities. My parents emphasized that keeping myself healthy and well rounded would grant me virtue and confidence. All of middle and high school I played tennis for my school and club team. While I kept myself fit, my coaches and mentors continually motivated me, even when I struggled. • 6. Summary Of Warren St. John s Outcasts United In Warren St. John s Outcasts United, the reader witnesses the struggles Luma Mufleh faces as she tries to get a suitable soccer field for her soccer teams composed of refugee immigrants from nations ravaged with war and terrorism; the conflicts she faces allows the reader to examine the changes (or lack thereof) that are happening/have happened across the world, even in our own hometowns. Without a doubt, the people of Clarkston are reluctant to accept the change that was beginning to envelope the town and that is the attitude that exemplifies the xenophobia that locks the closed minds of many Americans today. Truly, Luma would have had fewer problems acquiring the field necessary for the team to safely practice had they been a group of white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it is not just Luma who faced struggles in the story, such discrimination was experienced by an African immigrant by the name of Chike Chime who suffered police brutality and an extended stay in the local jail for doing nothing wrong other than having dark skin pigmentation and knowing the rights that American laws provide him, such actions that have caused a recent uproar in cities across the United States. This sudden influx in violence is not new as it has always been the belief that immigrants should have to conform to American standards when they arrive. In fact, when St. John interviewed the police officer responsible for the discriminatory actions against Chime, his response was They re in America now. Not Africa. Although these immigrants and refugees have experienced a total upheaval of all that they have known, they are expected to further change their heritage and values to fit the template that middle class, white Americans have set. A clear and simple statement of the benefit and price which firm can provide to its customer. However, the rapid development of business management, there are some argues of this term, and the concept is changing. A value proposition not only is a statement, it should be a consequence after researching customers need. In practices, a successful value proposition needs to recognize the target consumer and their expectations, and the way to meet the demand of the consumers. This means that the company could provide a clear solution of optimizing time, performance and cost for their consumer, which not only create competitive advantage for themselves, also for their consumer. • 8. Sarbanes-Oxley s Code Of Ethics First, we need to grasp how Codes of ethics were created and if formulated from a standard boilerplate Ethics program. As stated by FindLaw.com under Corporate Ethics and Sarbanes Oxley, in order to create code of ethics, an organization must define its most important guiding values, formulate behavioral standards to illustrate the application of those values to the roles and responsibilities of the persons affected, review the existing procedures for guidance and direction as to how those values and standards are typically applied, and establish the systems and processes to ensure that the code is implemented and effective. (Navran, 2003) A company can work to promote ethical behavior; however, the process is not easily created from boilerplate. The World Through Their Eyes The World Through Their Eyes We can disagree with them, appreciate or belittle them but one thing we must never do is ignore those who think differently because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. Steve Jobs. At first the world rejected Zuckerber, Jobs and Hawking s attempt to change societey and called them crazy. These three people s alternative thinking molded societey into the remarkable place it is today. Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs and Stephen Hawking are all people who I would like to switch lives with. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Roughly a decade after founding Facebook Zuckerberg truly demonstrated his generosity by signing up for a pledge known as The Giving Pledge. In effort to help solve humanity s dilemmas, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates founded the pledge, which is intended to encourage the wealthiest humans on the planet to donate at least half of their earnings to philanthropic causes. At only 30 years of age to have the moderation, maturity and especially the generosity to join the pledge is something I truthfully admire. Improving time and work management has been a goal I have set for myself the last couple of years. How Mark Zuckerberg managed his time and the work that Harvard and the creation of billion dollar idea takes is something I would like to experience how. College in its self is hard enough, and going to Harvard is demanding, but materializing a multibillion dollar idea while at Harvard is just way beyond insane. How he made Facebook successful under the circumstances he was already dealing with makes me want to have that experience to develop the work and time management skills he has which completely amazes me. • 11. Explain How And When Did The Earth Produce Its Core,... How and when did the Earth produce its core, mantle and continental crust? It has been known for well over a century now that the Earth s core, mantle and the crust make up the basic structure of the Earth. However, there is some controversy over how and when the Earth produced its core, mantle and crust. In this essay, I will first discuss about the formation of the Early Earth and its Moon, then about the methods used to pinpoint the age of the Earth. Other than that, I will also expand on core and mantle formation, as well as the eventual production of the continental crust. THE BIRTH OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM HEATING OF EARLY EARTH Firstly, to deduce how the Earth came to form the structures we know today in modern Earth, we must go back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... FORMATION OF THE MOON Many believe that while Early Earth was undergoing accretion, it had a massive collision with a large body as huge as the size of Mars (see Fig. 2.). This collision produced a shower of debris around the Earth and thrusted it into space (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). According to this theory, the Earth reformed as a boy with an outer molten layer hundreds of kilometres thick a magma ocean. (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). Marshak (2007) deduced that the Moon was formed from the accretion of the debris floating around the Earth. He also suggested that the Moon s composition resembles that of the mantle because of the way the Mars sized body collided with the Earth. From this, we can assume that when the collision happened it did not disturb the Earth s iron nickel core that was already formed. The formation of the Moon must have happened 4.51 billion years ago between the early stages of the accretion of the Earth which was 4.56 billion years ago,) and the formation of the oldest Moon rocks brought back by the Apollo astronauts (4.47 billion years ago,) (Grotzinger and Jordan, 2010). • 12. Comparison Of Alexander Pope, Aristotle And William... Poems vs. Prose (A comparison between Alexander Pope, Aristotle and William Woodsworth compared to Virginia Woolf.) Virgina Woolf was one of the most gifted modernists writers. She started writing novels and trying to compete with others, but she had her own views. She took a stance on poets and people who wrote prose. With her unique style she chose to write in letterform. Her ideas were similar to three other prominent writes. William Woodsworth who was born in 1770 was a prominent writer whose writing was challenged when the war started. He was an orphan and started writing. Eventually he was an influential writer, but took a slightly different stance on prose and poetry then Virginia Woolf. Alexander Pope who was born almost a hundred years earlier was also a writer that many people admired. He showed London and the world his only feelings and his views, which were similar to Woolf. Lastly, the oldest poet Aristotle who was born in 385 B.C. was a Greek who changed writing. He also published their views. While there were many years that separated these individuals they all described an idea that was based off of prose versus poets. All held a high position in society, but show different ideas. • 13. The Parable Of The Good Seed Poetry is oftentimes filled with several literary elements, but many make a single one its main focus. This same concept is seen with the poems The Parable of the Good Seed by Matthew, Love Calls Us to the Things of This World by Richard Wilbur, and The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats. All three poets focus on the same allusion of religion throughout their poems all in their own unique way. Each alludes to ideas outside of the actual poem by incorporating religious structures and beliefs. Whether its literature straight from the Christian Bible or their interpretation of its promised afterlife, each of these poems includes allusion that makes the reader wonder about these unearthly, eternal ideas. By recognizing and going into depth of each of their allusions, we accomplish the Student Outcome of being able to identify and demonstrate the use of the basic structural element of allusion in poetry. The Parable of the Good Seed by Matthew is pulled directly from the Bible. Because of this connection, its allusion to religion is quite clear. The best part of this poem, in my opinion, is its strong connection to God as the father and sinners as the son with hardly mentioning religion. Matthew perfectly describes the relationship between God and his children on earth flawlessly without blatantly stating it and using a comparison to explain its complexities. Religion is specifically alluded to in the very beginning where it says, The kingdom of heaven is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Euthanasia Is A Form Of Doctor Assisted Suicide Euthanasia is a form of doctor assisted suicide. There are many different types of Euthanasia and all are currently illegal in the United States with the exception of the state of Oregon. When a patient is being Euthanized they can be given an injection intravenously which causes their death this is called Euthanasia by action. A person could also be assisted to death through euthanasia by omission; this is when the patient is not provided with the appropriate things such as food or water. Also patients can be given a medication that renders them into a deep sleep in which they are left to die, either through the progression of their illness or through starvation. The most important aspect of doctor assisted suicide is whether it is voluntary, involuntary or non voluntary. The difference between non voluntary and involuntary is that non voluntary is when the patient does not request to be euthanized but they are. Involuntary euthanization is when a person specifically asks that they not be euthanized and they are. Although euthanasia is illegal some forms of it are still regularly practiced in today s healthcare system. Euthanasia dates back to as early as 1828 when the first law was written to outlaw anyone from providing a person with a dangerous weapon and or a harmful chemical that would knowingly be used in the taking of a person s own life. This would include taking the life of another person with their permission. In 1920 the book Permitting the Destruction of Life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Voting Age Voting In the most recent election in 2016 only 59% of Americans voted. Many people today see this as a major issue; however, a major argument has risen on how to solve this problem. One of the solutions that have been considered is lowering the voting age to 16 to get younger Americans votes. However many Americans think that this is crazy to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. The clear and only answer to this contentious question is that 16 and 17 year olds should not be able to vote. As stated before 16 and 17 year olds should not be allowed to vote because sixteen and seventeen year olds are not mature enough, their opinions can be easily swayed or changed based on what others think, and they are not educated enough on politics in order to vote. To begin, Americans under the age of eighteen should not be allowed to vote because they aren t mature enough. Headcount.org points out that, Minors, according to current laws are not mature enough to take part in consuming alcohol, [or] tobacco... is voting any different? (Debanno n.pag.) In other words, if sixteen year olds are not old enough to handle these substances then they are clearly not mature enough to vote. In the article For and Against: lowering voting age, it states that, 18 year olds may think that they know everything but they really do not. (Blacklock n.pag.) • 18. Depression And Anxiety And Depression Although anxiety and depression may seem to be separate categories of symptoms, as outlined in the DSM 5 (APA, 2013), and therefore different, many theorists posit that there is an underlying set of factors for both (Clark, Steer Beck, 1994, Clark Watson, 1991). Such commonalities between the diagnoses may explain the common comorbidity (Wittchen, Zhao, Kessler, Eaton, 1994). The high comorbidity between anxiety and mood disorders exacerbates the debate on the distinguish ability of the constructs (Andrews, 1996). One central component of anxiety and depression is the anticipation of negative future outcomes (Miranda, Mennin, 2007). This has been found across a wide age range, from adolescents to adults (Kagan, MacLeod, Pote, 2004). However, depression and anxiety differ in that those with higher depression scores tend to also anticipate a low chance of positive future outcomes (MacLeod, Tata, Kentish, Jacobsen, 1997). Not only do individuals with depression differ from anxious individuals with regards to low anticipation of positive outcomes, they also differ from non depressed individuals in that they are more likely to hold such pessimistic beliefs about the future (Anderson, 1990). This supports the tripartite model (Clark Watson, 1991) of high anticipation of negative outcomes, and low anticipation of positive outcomes. Tripartite model The tripartite model of depression (Clark Watson, 1991) states that the differences in anxiety and depression can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A high budget research project might take a smaller sample from every school in the country; a lower budget operation may have to concentrate upon one city or even a single school. The key to generalization is to understand how much your results can be applied backwards to represent the group of children, as a whole. The first example, using every school, would be a strong representation, because the range and number of samples is high. Testing one school makes generalization difficult and affects the external validity. You might find that the individual school tested generates better results for children using that particular educational program. However, a school in the next town might contain children who do not like the system. The students may be from a completely different socioeconomic background or culture. Critics of your results will pounce upon such discrepancies and question your entire experimental design. Most statistical tests contain an inbuilt mechanism to take into account sample sizes with larger groups and numbers, leading to results that are more significant. The problem is that they cannot distinguish the validity of the results, and determine whether your generalization systems are correct. This is something that must be taken into account when generating a hypothesis and designing the experiment. The other option, if the sample groups are small, is to use proximal similarity and restrict your generalization. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We are made aware, however, of Socrates special charm and intellectual gifts through the insistence of Polemarchus and the other men for the pleasure of his company. The tone is casual and language and modes of expression rather simple, as is commonly the case in Plato s dialogues. However, Plato s unaffected style serves at least two purposes. For one it belies the complexity and elevation of the ideas, thus it is in accord with Socrates characteristic irony itself, which draws the quot;fool quot; in by feigned ignorance, only so that the master can show that he does not know what he thinks he knows. And second, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socrates response (another question) clarifies his epistemology: quot;how can anyone answer who knows, and says that he knows, just nothing?? quot; What Socrates knows is incommunicable other than to say that he knows nothing. His philosophical speculations embody a process rather than a philosophy. That is, Socrates method is in accord with the nature of inquiry and of intellectual exploration itself: he is his style. And, acutely aware of this fact, Socrates repels every temptation toward dogma, characterized by Thrasymachus complaints. The second definition of justice, obedience to the interest of the stronger, is Thrasymachus veiled justification for tyranny (might is right), and is foreshadowed in his indecorous demand for payment. He is portrayed in sharp contrast to Socrates, who suggests that the stronger may not always know his own interest; therefore, at times, it is necessary for the weaker to disobey him. Socrates then successfully upsets the definition by demonstrating that, insofar as his role is an art, a ruler acts in the best interest of his subjects, as exemplified by the physician for his patients and the captain for his crew. Still unresolved, the debate moves into a second stage, where tyranny, or perfect injustice, and benevolent rule, or perfect justice, are evaluated against one another. Sickle cell anaemia is the most severe form of sickle cell disease and is a genetic disease of the red blood cells (Gibbons, 2015). Red blood cells have a disk like form which allows them the ability to travel through blood vessels. Although in people with sickle cell, the red blood cells form an abnormal crescent shape which makes them rigid and sticky as shown in Diagram 3 below. This causes the sickled cells to get trapped in small vessels which blocks blood from reaching different parts of the body leading to pain, tissue damage and many more symptoms (University of Utah, 2015). The term anaemia comes from having a shortage of red blood cells in your blood which occurs because sickled cells only last up to 10 20 days while normal red blood cells last approximately 120 days. The name sickle comes from an old farm tool known as a sickle as shown in Diagram 4 below which represents the same shape as curved sickled cells (Petch, 2012). (299 words) Analysis of the Decision Parker s budgeting decision is a good example of an individual acting with bounded rationality. This term was introduced by Simon in 1957 (as cited in Tolbert Hall, 2008) to argue that normative models of decision making, which assume fully rational and objective judgement (Teale, Dispenza, Flynn Currie, 2003), are unrealistic because human rationality is limited. Parker s judgement may have seemed rational to him, but it was not rational for the organisation, a subtle distinction about rationality made by Storing (as cited in Tolbert Hall, 2008). Parker s judgement was also not rational in that he did not have all available knowledge and awareness of risk, which are the conditions of normative models (Teale et al, 2003) and the official theory of management (Anthony, as cited in Teale et al, 2003, p. 14). For example, Parker did not know about the variations in the terrain when he made his decision, and he also assumed that the assistant workers could work at the same physical rate that he could. Both of these limitations were factors resulting in a risk to on time task completion. Many people have experienced discrimination against their age daily, even in schools and workplaces. Why is this important? Ageism can relate to everyone in the society; managers, employees, teachers, police officers, principles, etc. For example in a workplace, there are questions you are not allowed to ask during an interview, to your employees and coworkers, etc. Managers can get in trouble for saying stuff like you can t do this because your too young , forcing someone to retire due to their age, not interviewing someone due to their age, As an employer, you cannot be denied a job, training or promotion, or forced to retire, because of your age, etc. If you are experiencing age discrimination against you, you can make a human rights complaint by contacting the human rights tribunal of Ontario. Bottom: An example XRD pattern for a sample point (Xue et al. 2016). Then the collected XRD patterns are organized and the underlying structures are found. Meaning that for each library there should be a small number of underlying XRD patterns, usually less than ten, such that every pattern in the library can be reconstructed as a linear combination of these underlying patterns. These underlying patterns can then be used to interpret the crystal structure of each sample point, as well as give insights into the material properties of each sample point. These underlying XRD patterns are often called a phase. This signal de mixing of material systems is referred to as the phase mapping problem. Using traditional methods material scientists can process approximately ten XRD patterns per day, whereas sample points are generated on the order of thousands per day (Gregoire et al. 2009; 2014). Analyses that can be used to assess the functioning of land ecosystems is abiotic indicators, biological indicators, and atmospheric indicators. Abiotic indicators can include pH, moisture, and temperature. Soil temperature and moisture are important environmental factors that affect the conservation and physiology of earthworms (M.L.
