History And Purpose Of NAFTA
Conflict has always been an influential part of the history of man. Conflicts associated with trade, are
some of the most common products of human existence. It simply means to trade something for
something else and some ended up unhappy in the end. The items traded might be goods, services,
relationships, methods or ideas. Although once the initial terms of a transaction have been settled,
often disputes arise after the fact. Believe it or not Paid in full does not mean that the relationship ends
for neither the buyer nor the seller. A buyer might say This is not what you told me you were selling.
or the seller might disagree with the use of the item sold. Philosophy or product disputes have a long
and sorted history. One culturally relevant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated by Friedman, The essence of globalization is the free movement of people, goods services,
and capital across national borders Friedman, Mandelbaum, 2012, p.19). In 1984, Congress passed the
Trade and Tariff Act. That gave the president fast track authority to negotiate free trade agreements. It

conceptualization of globalization as a dynamic process rather than as a static condition Steger, 2000,

that globalization is not one set of social processes. We are all constantly being propelled towards the
condition of globality and that one defining the characteristic of the process: movement towards more
intense forms of connectivity and integration Steger, 2000, p11). Mayer asserts that conflict is a basic
part of the human condition. It has many roots and theoretical explanations of its origin. To give a
rather simple explanation, conflict boils down to the human competition for recourses and power
Mayer, 2000, p. 8). That being said, a conflict will always be a part of our globalized world. When
considering this, it is important that skilled mediators become a part of institutions that plan to thrive

Child Beauty Pageants Good For Children
Child beauty pageants are good for children and for society. Child beauty pageants give kids a chance
to express themselves and ability to show their talent. Child beauty pageants are known for kid under
16 years of age to join, and have fun. Pageants it s an appearance that requires girls to dress up and
perform like pint size adults, complete with fake hair, spray tans, full makeup, ornate costumes and
even artificial teeth (known as flippers) (Healy). Maybe because of this reason, children tend to be
more motivate; therefore, children like to dress up and some children like to dress up like adults. This
is a good opportunity for children to feel how it is to dress like an adult. Some parent report that their
child seems to have more confident and they love dressing up for the contest. Children are energetic
and they love about beauty pageants is they get to travel. Child beauty pageants help children be in
shape because in order to fit in any costume, the parent wants their kid to look as thin and in shape as
possible. This is a good opportunity for children, and it s good to force kid to be in shape at such an
early age. Children can learn that by being in shape can have many benefits as they get older. ... Show

2 December 2016 Social anxiety All day, every day, life is like this. Fear. Apprehension. Avoidance.
Pain. Anxiety about what you said. Fear that you said something wrong. Worry about others
disapproval. Afraid of rejection, of not fitting in. Anxious to enter a conversation, afraid you ll have
nothing to talk about. Hiding what s wrong with you deep inside, putting up a defensive wall to
protect your secret. ( What Is It Like to Live with Social Anxiety? ). Social anxiety is a fear that causes
struggle in people all the time. Being shy is different than having social anxiety. In America social
anxiety is a big deal. There certain ways to help someone with social anxiety. Social anxiety and
shyness are two different conditions; shyness can be overcome while social anxiety is chronic. A

Shyness is the physical trait of a person. Social anxiety affects the mind because it is a mental illness.
Being shy causes a person to be nervous in social settings, but then in social setting someone with
social anxiety is more likely to have panic attack and a melt down. After a while a person who is shy
will become comfortable with their current situation. Being socially anxious is hard to overcome and
takes much longer for the person to become comfortable in the same situation. People who are shy can
live a normal life but someone social anxiety is going to live in fear of leaving the house. The nature
of the relationship between shyness and social phobia can be clarified by assessing rates of social
phobia in highly shy and normative samples. (chavira, Denise A., Murray B. Stein, and Vanessa L.

How Did The Eucharist Enrich Our Culture
A theme that could enrich our culture today would be the meal, today we think of the Eucharist more
as something that we just do in church. Back in history Eucharist was more than just a thing that they
did to be close to God and remember what Jesus had done for us. But back in the early church it was
more of a worship service in and of itself. This could benefit many people in the church because meals
would start to mean more to the people that are in the church. That it would not just be a time to gather
and eat but to spend time in communion with people also to worship God together serving Him in a
service that has to do with actions as well as the placement of ones soul.
This could help refine our day and age to not just see food as nutrients ... Show more content on

This could help our churches today stand out in this society were the people are very individualistic
and this could help the society come closer to being more of a community culture. This is important to
keep Eucharist in our churches but it might be very undermined today because today s churches only
make it a small part of the service where in the early church it was a very big part of the service.
All together this could be something very difficult to install in our churches today but could be
something that might change not just the thought process of a church but could change the all of
society. Because if one starts to change the thought process of a few then sooner or later they will
continue to change the though processes of others and soon all of society. This could help our society
start to care for the poor, widowed and orphaned because this meal includes these people in the
partaking of this

Journalistic Dishonesty In Dante s Inferno
In her popular translation of Dante s Inferno, English writer Dorothy Sayers explains that Bolgia 9 in
the eighth circle of hell is reserved for sowers of discord, those who are ready to rip up the whole
fabric of society to gratify a sectional egotism. If Dante had assigned fraudulent journalists a place in
hell melodramatic as it is to think about he probably would have put them in Bolgia 9. Any intentional
inaccuracy in a story is a betrayal of the public s trust and is inexcusable for a professional whose job
it is to report the truth; as Walter Lippmann once affirmed, There can be no higher law in journalism
than to tell the truth and to shame the devil. But just as Dante recognized in concocting his orderly
progression of torment that there are shades of wrongness, so too are some fraudulent stories are more
deserving of condemnation than others. Below, I will examine five cases of journalistic dishonesty
Janet Cooke s Jimmy s World in The Washington Post ( The Post ), Jayson Blair s reporting for The
New York Times ( The Times ), Mike Daisey s feature on This American Life ( TAL ), Sabrina Erdely
s A Rape on Campus in Rolling Stone Magazine (Rolling Stone), and Stephen Glass s stories for The
New Republic and argue that the offences in each vary in pervasiveness, level of duplicity, and impact
on society. I will then scrutinize the responses of each publisher, evaluating the timeliness and
approach of each.

Support Language Development
There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et
al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through
copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and
individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that
through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain
key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro
(2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new
target vocabulary. Hurrell (1999) criticises the motion of copy writing: as it gives the children too
many things to focus on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a very difficult task especially in a foreign language with differing word structures and
sentence conventions. Another criticism of copy writing is that children often make assumptions that
copy writing is easy which means they do not necessarily pay full attention, meaning they make
careless mistakes which result in the little recall of the vocabulary (Macaro, 2006). Alternative
activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008),
encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of
their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises
phonetic awareness. It is important for children to improve their phonetic awareness when learning to
write in a foreign language alongside being allowed to make mistakes without fear of second language
anxiety, as outlined by Levine

The Treaty Of Paris ( 1763 )
The Treaty of Paris (1763) was an agreement signed to end the Seven Years War (1754 1763), or
French and Indian War as it was known in North America between the British and French Empires.
Agreement is different, from the Treaty of Paris signed in 1783 which concluded the American
Revolution (1775 1783) and provided for the independence of the United States of America from
Great Britain. It is also distinct from Treaty of Paris (1815) which solidified Napoleon s defeat in
Europe, and the Treaty of 1856 which concluded the Crimean War (1853 1856). By the conditions of
the 1763 Treaty, which was conjointly signed with the Treaty of Habertusburg (1763), France ceded to
the British Empire holdings in India in addition to its territories in North America east of the
Mississippi River with the exception of New Orleans. While France s Louisiana territories west of the
Mississippi were given to Spain. In addition, Spain received the islands of Havana and Manila while
ceding Florida to British control. In exchange, France retained the islands of St. Lucia, Guadeloupe,
and Martinique as well as having a number of captured outposts in the West Indies restored to their
control. Beyond these matters in North America, Great Britain also garnered a number of trade
concessions and agreements in relation to its African, Central American, and Indian territories. The
immediate result of this agreement was to reduce France s Imperial authority and effectively conclude

Ice Fili also finds strength in its employee retention. With a workforce of about 600 employees, over
40% have been employed for over 20 years. The open and cooperative environment proves most
beneficial for employee retention and attracting young talent to join the ranks of Ice Fili s workforce.
Although lacking behind today s technology, Ice Fili has made an outstanding effort in capital
investments to increase productivity; contributing over $8 million throughout the 1990 s.
Ice Fili s marketing approach and product distribution could be seen as weaknesses in the company s
primary activities. In 2001 the firm started its first TV marketing campaign years after competitor s
advertised through the media outlets. To date Ice Fili is still very inexperienced and far lacking of
marketing strategies deployed by Western competitors such as Unilever and Nestle. Not only does Ice
Fili need to market more fiercely against competitors within industry, it must also compete against
other consumables such as beverages and snacks. Another weakness is the distribution that is handed
over to several distribution companies. There is a much higher chance (twice as likely) to find
products of its biggest competitor NestlƩ than those of Ice Fili. Another detriment is how ice cream is
viewed socially. Currently ice cream is primarily an impulse purchase. If Ice Fili can change this
outlook, it would result in an enormous

Attending Elementary School
Attending elementary school is a period of time in which you are learning the basics of every subject
that you will carry on throughout your whole life. You will be able to learn how to read, write, add,
subtract, etc. Also, you are taught how to act and think like a normal person. The best thing about
elementary school is that you have very little responsibilities and you don t have to worry about
college. I attended Fairview Elementary School from grades K 5. I remember each year like it was
yesterday. For example, I remembered the way I looked, the friends I made, the events that occurred,
and the problems I had.
All throughout my years of elementary school, many people would pick on me and boast about their
appearance in comparison to me. For example, I was the smallest kid in my class. Everyone would
always be taller than me and make me reach for a pencil as they held it up high. In addition, I also had
a big head which also gave kids another opportunity to make fun of me. Finally, many kids started to
get braces. I had very crooked teeth and a gap in my tooth.

How to Set Up Your Own Fm Radio Station
How To Set Up Your Own FM Radio Station Licensing And Start Up Issues
There are several ways to set up your own radio station. It depends on how serious you are about it.
The single most important thing you should know before you get started is why would you need to
start your own radio station?
Maybe, it s because you are a DJ or you have a band and want to reach an audience with your songs.
Maybe, you have a huge collection of rock music and want to share it with the world. Maybe you are a
member of club and want to make money by broadcasting a certain type of music along with
commercials. Maybe you are a candidate and want to spread the word about your nomination and your
speeches. Or maybe you are just person who is passionate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In New Zealand, there are no ongoing fees to operate this type of station however you do need to pay
nominal annual fees to APRA and RIANZ for music royalties. You do need to ensure however that
your transmission equipment is compliant with Radio Spectrum Management regulations.
Additionally, as is the case with any radio station, all your broadcasts need to comply with the
Broadcasting Act. Fundamentally this means your broadcasts must be in good taste. The advantages
that a low power FM radio station have over a commercial station is that is is much less expensive to
set up at the outset, your likelihood of finding a suitable frequency are much higher, and there are far
fewer ongoing costs.
When operating a low power FM station, you need to determine who your audience is. If you are
broadcasting in an area where there are already a number of resident commercial stations, you may
enjoy more success by broadcasting niche programming that appeals to an audience not currently
served by the full power FM stations. Alternatively for those who are located in a more rural area or
town, you then have the opportunity to set your station up as the local alternative to what is already
available. Generally a local station competing against a station being beamed in by satellite from one
of the main centres will attract a great deal of local community support.
When it comes to setting up or starting up a low power FM radio

Case Study Of Tata Motors Acquisition Jaguar
Background on Tata Motors Acquiring Jaguar
Tata Motors is India s largest passenger automobile and commercial vehicle established in 1945 Listed
on the New York Stock Exchange in 2004. TATA Motors is best example that has a number of
Acquisition, subsidiaries, Associate Companies and Strategic Tie up. One can attribute the difference
in the outcomes to the differences in approaches to acquisition process. TATA employed a method
which is directly opposite to Daimler. The essence of this method lay in respecting the existing culture
rather than imposing a foreign culture. The expansion continues with the Acquisition of Jaguar Land
Rover, the world s most respectable and iconic brands.
The concept of acquisition factor that leads to successful can be understood better with the case of
Tata acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover Land Deal. The deal basically focuses on the prime sector of
automobile and the reputation of companies at their own segment. Globally, the number and size of
deals is heading toward record levels, with cross border deals taking centre stage, as companies take
advantage of cheap financing to pursue their expansive acquisition strategies.

management to the executives in the England. The deal comes out to be transformational as it moved
the brand Tata Motors from a commercial vehicle and small car manufacturer to a global player with
premium brands in their list. In the fiscal year 2008, ended in March, Jaguar posted an increase of 27
percent in retail sales, to 306,000 (Three lakh six thousand) vehicles, and became the drive for the

Comparing The Parthenon Of Ancient Greece And Rome
Last of all, both of these edifices directly affect the responsibilities of the citizens and what makes the
Greek or Roman. With the massive amount of wealth and power gained by the Athenians the
statement of the Parthenon is a sort of claim of superiority over all other nations and enforces a sort of
national pride on Athenian power. It is an example of their efficiency as a fighting machine. The
reliefs serve as metaphors of triumph over the irrational barbarians and order over chaos that defines
the mindset of Athenian society. Similarly, the Ara Pacis is also a statement of dominance over an
irrational society but the Romans sought to further this by claiming they were saviors, not just
conquerors. Even the name of the monument, Arch of

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Persuasive Speech
During the episode Hush from Joss Whedon s the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy the main
character s hometown Sunnydale is invaded by demons who call themselves The Gentlemen. The
Gentlemen come into a town during the late hours of the night and while everyone is asleep they steal
the voices of the towns people, and begin to harvest their hearts. This relates to how most politicians
come and take over a town and many times the citizens of said town have no say in anything.Similar
to The Gentlemen, politicians seem to emerge out of thin air and take control of everything, by doing
things their own way and ignoring what their suppose to do as politicians. The Gentlemen as political
leaders have to steal the voices of the townspeople in order have complete control. Similarly to the
tactics of politicians, The Gentlemen suddenly came into town and since they are superior, they

After Buffy screams, her voice alone kills the Gentlemen. The heads of the Gentlemen start to

stand up for what they believe in and use their voices just like how Buffy used her scream to defeat the
gentlemen. For example, people complain about how things are not right but instead of complaining
they could just use their voices to speak up then things would be different instead of complaining
continuously. Then people who are more so suited for political positions would end up elected. And
just like how Buffy used her scream in order to defeat the Gentlemen, the people would use their
voices to rise up and create a better political system with good hearted people. This just comes to

vineyard provides a variety of services for the community. One thing I liked about the vineyard is how
much the community cares and value the children receive from the volunteers and staff. The mission
of the vineyard is that the children from all different schools are brought together for a couple of hours
to engage in different activities to learn and grow as a whole. The vineyard has an enormous impact

they feed the children dinner which is a very lovely. During my time at the vineyard the population of
children I worked with ranged from kindergarten to 3rd graders. I had a lot of one on one time with

The presenter also showed pictures that he took himself when he toured Pompeii. The fact that the

The Power of Interior Monologues in War and Peace Essay...
War and Peace probed into the human essence and its search for the truths of life. Tolstoy focused on
two men to represent and carry the burden of finding those ethereal values. Throughout the novel, he
utilized numerous images, symbols, dialogue, and foreshadowing to advance the progress of his
characters. Yet, his most effective use of technical device can be found in describing the psychological
thoughts and interior monologues of the characters. Most notably, the thoughts of Pierre and Andrei

Truly a pioneer, he managed to profess these beliefs in a fictitious novel that has become one of the
masterpieces of western and world literature. Upon further examination of War and Peace, he
expresses these Zen and early Christian beliefs specifically through the mental thoughts of Pierre,
Andrei, and even the mythical Platon. Though not as skilled a writer of the human mind as his
compatriot, Fyodor Dostoevsky, he did meritoriously utilize Pierre s and Andrei s mental awareness
and psychological changes of consciousness to foreshadow upcoming actions and to present the Zen
belief, so popular in the modern western world today.
Tolstoy introduces his first main character, Pierre Bezukhov, at Anna Pavlovna s soire. Pierre will
experience several mental awakenings into the meaning of life that eventually builds up into a
climactic revelation that changes his life forever. In essence, Pierre s life progresses mainly through
his thoughts and feelings rather than through his actions. Of all the major characters, he partakes in the
least number of physical actions, and the actions he does perform can be foreshadowed from previous
thoughts. His journey to define life occurs in three psychological stage: pre conversion, conversion,
and post conversion. The pre conversion period portrays his mind as a conglomerate of differing
emotions, feelings, thoughts, and impulses. Tolstoy describes these

Character Analysis Of Don Giovanni

Professor Heywood

W.A. Mozart Don Giovanni
Produced by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787, Don Giovanni is regarded as one the best operas
ever made. The piece is based on the legend of Don Juan, an illusory libertine and seducer of women
(Kerns, 2010). At first, Mozart s opera seems more like a story of the romantic adventures of a
dissolute nobleman and his disgrace. However, there is much more to Don Giovanni than just a series
of events and serious laughs, just as the protagonist is much more than a notorious, single minded, and
unprincipled seducer. Closer examination of the piece reveals its core themes of social classes and
divisions as depicted by Leporello s complaints about his servitude to his employer in the first scene
(Mozart, Fisher, Ponte, 2007). The play also touches on vital human traits and principles, including
loyalty, faithfulness, and sincerity. More importantly, Don Giovanni centers on the ambiguity intrinsic
to human relations, the intricate connection between life and death, and the interminable tension
between love and the risk of its extermination.
Don Giovanni can be characterized as a comic opera due to its indulgence with tragic themes, such as
crime and murder, in an astoundingly funny manner. By definition, an opera is an art form in which
the composers combine dramatic works with musical scores and libretto or text in theatrical settings.
The singing may be either melodic or recitative. Traditionally,

Climate and Location
Tundras are one of the harshest and coldest biomes here on earth. The climate of tundras are cold with
heavy, constant winds and low rainfall. Tundras are treeless regions that are cold throughout most of
the year. During the winter, the sun hardly shines. In the summer, the sun shines almost 24 hours a day
and last around 6 to 10 weeks. Temperatures during the summer do not rise above 50 degrees
Fahrenheit. Tundras are located in Alaska, Northern Canada, Russia, and Northern Siberia.

Reindeer mosses and lingonberries are the producers of the tundra s food chain (Naik, 2013) . The
primary consumers, arctic hare and reindeer, can t get their energy directly from the sun so they
depend on the producers to obtain the energy they need. The arctic fox is the secondary consumer
because they prey on arctic hares but also eat berries. The snowy owl, polar bear, and arctic wolf are
the tundra s tertiary consumers. Snowy owls eats the arctic hare and and arctic fox. Arctic wolves eats
the arctic hare, arctic fox, and reindeer. Arctic wolves have been known to prey on snowy owls
because unlike regular owls they build their nests on the ground. This brings a disadvantage to the
snowy owl since it is now more accessible to prey. The last tertiary consumer in this biome is the polar
biome. The polar bear consumes the arctic fox, arctic hare, and sometimes the reindeer. Because
nothing are predators to the arctic wolf or polar, they die a natural death. When these organisms die
they decompose and become nutrients to the producers of this biome. This allows the entire process to

This hardware also contains memory chips onto which the software is loaded. The software residing
on the memory chip is also called the ĀµfirmwareĀ¶. The embedded system architecture can be
represented as a layered architecture as shown in Fig. The operating system runs above the hardware,
and the application software runs above the operating system. The same architecture is applicable to
any computer including a desktop computer. However, there are significant differences. It is not
compulsory to have an operating system in every embedded system. For small appliances such as
remote control units, air conditioners, toys etc., there is no need for an operating system and you can
write only the software specific to that application. For applications involving complex processing, it
is advisable to have an operating system. In such a case, you need to integrate the application software
with the operating system and then transfer the entire software on to the memory chip. Once the
software is transferred to the memory chip, the software will continue to run for a long time you donĀ¶t
need to reload new software. 2.2 Characteristics 1. Embedded systems are designed to do some

Figurative Language In MLK Jr. s I Have A Dream
Martin Luther King Jr. was the man who wrote the speech entitled I have a dream and presented it to
nearly 250,000 people on August 23, 1963. In that speech, MLK Jr. used several different types of
figurative language/rhetorical devices in order to convey his message to the people on a deeper level.
These devices include personification, allusion, symbolism, hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and
anaphora. Personification is a form of figurative language that gives an object human qualities. One
example of this in MLK Jr. s writing would include I have a dream that one day this nation will rise
up, live out the true meaning of its creed . Here, MLK Jr. gives the U.S. the human qualities of being
able to rise up from the ground as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of just straight up telling the audience the name of something, MLK Jr. was able to show the
reader who he ment with the use of context clues. Afterall, if any author can inform their audience of
the person or thing they are referencing without telling the audience who or what it actually is, they
can keep the audience in the mind set they want to have their audience in instead of having their mind
wander off, thinking about other things in which that person or object was or is currently involved in.
MLK Jr. took advantage of this by only referencing Lincoln through Emancipation Proclamation,
which was related to the topic at hand, racial equality of people of color. Symbolism itself is the use of
a symbol (like an object or fact) to represent an idea or quality that is not what the symbol itself
physically is. MLK Jr. used symbolism as a way to show the reader or listener to his speech his ideas
or his point in a clearer manner. One example of symbolism he used would be, Now is the time to rise
from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of justice. In that quote MLK talks
about a dark and desolate valley of segregation and the sunlit path of justice. The dark and desolate
valley of segregation is referring to the U.S. at that point in time. People were separated based on their
skin color and there was no social or legal justice for the people of dark colored skin. It was a horrible

Thor as Portrayed in the Kenneth Branagh Movie
In this paper, I will talk about Thor as portrayed in the movie directed by Kenneth Branagh as he may
be depicted differently in other sources. Thor is the god of thunder and son of Odin, ruler of Asgard in
Norse mythology. A powerful God that was next in line for the throne of Asgard. Thor had the power
of thunder and was able to control its power with his hammer, which also allows him to fly.
Comparing Thor to Jesus, both are powerful beings. Asgard and Heaven are very similar as it is where
the Gods/God live. With great power both Thor and Jesus conquered things in their own way. Jesus
conquered sin, not by using his fists to fight Satan, but instead he was crucified to stop Satan controls
over the people. Where in Soteriology 1 payment for sin. Jesus conquered sin by offering his body, the
body of god, to repent for the people of the world s sin. Unlike Jesus, Thor s course of action is not
non violence. He comes from Asgard, a world where war was heavily prevalent, which was the reason
Thor was banished to earth. He conquered his enemies through his hands. Though both are godly and
had similar intentions Thor s course of action for his mission was different from Jesus according to
course text.
Thor is a savior figure because he saves humanity from God s themselves specifically his brother
Loki, who betrayed his family while he was banished by their father Odin. In this film Thor is your

What Factors Played A Role In The Death And Life Of A...
What factors played a role in the death and life of a language?
There are roughly 7.4 billion people in the world, with over 6000 diverse cultures and societies.
Within these cultures lies languages and dialects. Sadly, there are serval hundred languages that have
faded away from a cultural society. This research paper analyzes the factors that lead to the death and
life of a language.
Origin of language
There are two different views on how human beings we were able to begin communicating with
language. Historians believe that the first known communication between man was cave paintings.
The paintings consist of signs and drawings of human hunting animals. Evidence suggests that the
paintings were used as a story liner. They re also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These areas of Egyptian safe havens are modern day middle eastern countries. The Greeks did not last
very long for the Romans invaded and took over the Egyptian lands. So just for the Egyptian land
alone faced language changes from Egyptian/Hebrew, to Greek, to Latin.
Where did these languages come from? How did mankind go from paintings on caves to speaking so
many different languages?
Ever heard the story the Tower of Babel? The story begins with a nation of people speaking One
tongue coming together to build a tower to reach the heavens to escape the possible coming of the
second flight. However, God saw how powerful mankind can be when united togeather as one nation
speaking the same language. So, He created a confusion in the languages and spread people out. The
original language spoken by the people of Babel was Hebrew. In Genesis 11:18 states that the world
had one language and a common speech. In verse two one can find the name of the land the Babel
people settled in was Shinar, Babylon. And the word Babel Is the Hebrew word for confusion. So, if a
Siri was already named the Hebrew name it must imply that he was the main language before the
confusion. And if we go further back to Genesis chapter 1 in the creation of Adam and Eve there is a
verse where Adam is brought all the beasts of the earth to mean name. And that Adam talked with
God.

The Moral Ambivalence Of Crime And Criminology
Crime and Criminology Essay
It is common knowledge that crime exists all over the world and that justice and punishment may vary
in different countries and societies. However, how justice and punishment is enforced in a society and
globally is not common knowledge. Global justice refers to the belief that the world is unjust; while
social justice, in a manner of speaking, refers to the fair treatment of everyone in a society.( Social
Justice ). Both social and global justice value human rights, remove inequality, and holds people
accountable for fair practices.( Social Justice ). If someone commits the same crime as another person,
for example, they should receive the same punishment. That is what most people would be inclined to
believe, but in the reading The Moral Ambivalence of Crime in an Unjust Society by Jeffrey Reiman,
crime and justice is reviewed and defined in an uncommon way. Reiman discusses justice in a society
where a crime was committed against him and his wife. A visit to France should be like a dream come
true, an experience of a lifetime, but for Jeffrey Reiman and his wife it was not. In the summer of
2005, they visited a town called Nice. After traveling all night, the couple picked up a car that they
were leasing for the summer. Before they could lock the doors to the car or even enjoy any of the
accommodations, they were victimized. There, in the city of Nice, they have a crime called vol a la

Essay Comparing Frankenstein And The Picture Of Dorian Gray
Creators are the Real Monsters Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and Oscar Wilde s The Picture of Dorian
Gray both have a creator and a monster; however, the books contain two different opinions of what it
means to be monstrous, in which Henry realizes his power over Dorian and Frankenstein abandons his
creation. These creations had no choice in the way they turned out because they were made and
molded by their creators, which in turn makes the creators that gave them life the real monsters. The
works of Frankenstein and The Picture of Dorian Gray give clear warnings to a creator foretelling that
if they fail to be responsible in providing their own creation with an appropriate upbringing, The
Creation will fail and thus turn into a monster. Mary Shelley tells the story of a scientist named Victor

Total Equality Analysis
The Societal Problems of Total Equality
I m the Greatest man you ll never know (2081). Harrison Bergeron was indeed the greatest character
never known in his society. 2081 and Harrison Bergeron tell of the futuristic society who citizens that
excel in normal activities are handicapped to meet the normal population standards. In Harrison
Bergeron and the short film 2081, the author and director use similar and different plot structures and
characteristics. Each similarity and difference show that limiting variation in a society is dangerous.
Harrison Bergeron and the short film 2081 have many similar elements in plot structure and
characteristics. For example, The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren t only
equal before the law. They were equal in every which way (Vonnegut 38). 2081 choose to incorporate
the same beginning narration in the short story. This element sets up the viewer s expectations for the
plot and contributes to the idea of what Vonnegut portrays as the conflict of interest in the story.
Harrison does not want society to be equal and tries to overthrow the government to change that
because he sees the problems with total equality in society. In addition, both the film and short story
show how handicaps negatively affect society through Harrison father, George. In 2081, George is
shown with a handicap that plays sharp sounds such as a pin hitting a milk bottle to impair his thought

Howard Zinn Chapter Summary
What evidence does Zinn offer to show the US government was not opposed to fascism on principle?
Zinn first explains that the governments main interest from the start wasn t really to even stop fascism
but rather to advance the counties own imperial interest. For example, Italy during this time was
practicing fascism. If the The US was opposed to fascism the government would have tried to cut Italy
off but instead it let American Businesses send oil to Italy. Zinn then explains how policies in the
United States almost perfectly mirrored those practiced in the fascists Nations. He portrays this in two
ways, first he explains the treatment of women and then explains the racism the broke out in the US
towards the Japanese. Fascist nations strongly believed in fallowing gender roles. What I mean by this
is that, according to fascists principle women were to basically embrace their stereotypes; staying at
home and being good housewives. Even though the US was supposed to be in a war against fascism, it
really didn t do anything differently to help equalize the role of women and men. Apparently other
than using women in defense industries the US didn t do anything different, also keep in mind there
were no other options besides women at this time. United states policies kept women out of the policy
making areas and only used them for war work. Lastly, Zinn explains how the racist practices in the
United starts almost perfectly imitated those seen in fascist nations. He used the

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
The author of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time, Mark Hadden, was a genius to write
this book from Christopher s point of view. Writing the book in third person would defeat the point of
the book which is to let us see the world through the eyes of Christopher. The books main plot is very
basic and the mystery pretty easy to figure out. Hadden wants us to see Christopher s way of thinking
and interacting though an event that people without his disease may think of as straight forward.
Another aspect the reader would miss out on are the chapters that diverge from the main plot line
showing his logical way of thinking. The powerful meaning behind the novel all comes from the use
of first person. First, letting the reader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this would have been the same in third person, we wouldn t be able to interpret Christopher

go home. In the following chapter, which is one that diverges from the main plot, the line And what he
meant was that maths wasn t like life because in life there are no straightforward answers at the end
relates to the previous chapter because of the unpredicted events Christopher just faced. Lastly, in
chapter 167 Christopher s father confesses to killing Wellington after apologizing for lying about his
mother because he doesn t want any more secrets. In third person we would see he is clearly outraged
at his father. In first person we get more in depth into his feelings, we learn how he rationales that his
father is going to kill him next which lead to the final chapters in the book. In third person we could
have foreseen these events but through Christopher s logical mind we get lost in following his more in
depth, unpredicted, and emotional path to the answer. To sum it all up, first person was the obvious
choice for this book because of the real story Haddon was portraying. The story let us get inside the
head of a person with Aspergers disease. Through his logical thinking processes, unique observations,

Anonimity on the Web
Internet is a network that can be used in many different ways and can be accessed from anywhere.
Internet is being used in schools, ministries, hospitals, etc. When people use the internet, many of
them choose to be anonymous. People choose to be anonymous to do everything they want without
the risk of exposing their identity. This paper will list how being anonymous can be a double edged
sword.
Anonymity on the web is the way of hiding your identity in order to do anything freely without
exposure to legal repercussions. Hackers are the most group of people that keep their identity
anonymous. For example, when hackers attempt to hit a target, the first thing they do is hiding their
identity with more than one way to keep them safe from being tracked by governments and
cybercrime organizations.
A group of hackers called themselves The Anonymous are one of the most powerful hacking group
that internet have ever witnessed. That group believes that people should have their rights of doing
anything without being infringed by governments. The Anonymous have attacked the most secret and
highly sensitive websites of governments. They have hit Israeli, American and European government s
websites and exposed secret information that can lead to war. That group is still free because their
identities are unknown.
Anonymity has also helped hackers in many other different ways. Hackers around the world believe
that security has been made to be hacked. Those hackers have the desire of

Media Athletics Greek mythology has had a large influence on modern day sports, especially the
Olympic Games, held every four years in Olympus. The first Olympic games were held in 776 BCE,
in honour of Zeus. Male contestants (ONLY men) participated in sports like javelin throwing,
wrestling, and racing. Winners were awarded with crowns made of laurels and eternal glory in their
city state. Today, the Olympics are celebrated every two years, alternating between summer and
winter. The types of sports played vary, depending on the season; for example, the summer Olympic

Foils in Othello
The Foils of Othello One of William Shakespeare s many attributes as a playwright of the late 16th
century was his character development. Shakespeare s seamless use of indirect characterization sets
his works apart from the other playwrights and authors of his time. In Othello, the Shakespearian
tragedy about the newlywed Othello and Desdemona, Shakespeare uses character foils to emphasize
the strengths and weaknesses of the characters. By making inwardly similar characters seem like polar
opposites, Shakespeare truly shows how dynamic each of the characters is. Othello, the play s
protagonist, is the most dynamic character of them all due to the fact that he is a complete foil of
himself by the final act of the play. In the second act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Iago and Desdemona rarely interact throughout the play there are used to show how evil or
good the other is.
Desdemona was also a foil to the person she interacted with the most in the play; her husband,
Othello. Othello and his newlywed Desdemona become opposites toward the end of the play. The
main couple of the play is very different from each other which is easily seen by the audience because
of how they interact with one another. Othello was filled with hate for Desdemona because he
believed she had cuckolded him, and Desdemona never stopped loving him even though he accused
her of things she did not do. Desdemona asks Emilia That there be women do abuse their husbands In
such gross kind? (4.3) showing how truly innocent she is and when Emilia asks if she would cheat on
Othello she is appalled at the idea. Desdemona would never cheat on the husband she works tirelessly
to please. In this instance Desdemona does not only prove her innocence, but she also shows that she
is virtually incorruptible making her different from her easily corruptible Othello. Iago only had to
show Othello a little evidence for him to become corrupted with jealousy. It was not Othello s fault
that he was corruptible, but he was very quick to build hate for his wife, but slow to believe her pleas
of innocence. The reason for this is related to the time in which the story

Essay On Psychiatric Service Dogs
A 2015 study found that 16.1 million adults in the United States had experienced at least one major
episode of depression in the past year. This is one of the most common mental illnesses in the country.
Anxiety is another common disorder, with about 40 million people suffering from it. It is important
that such patients seek treatment early to keep their mental condition from taking a turn for the worse.
Another thing that can be of immense help to such people is getting psychiatric service dogs to help
them in this battle. Let s take a look at how such dogs can help patients with depression and anxiety.
What are psychiatric service dogs?
Psychiatric service dogs are ones that have received official recognition to help a person with mental

These dogs can remind a person to take medication and even fetch water to help swallow pills. Also,
they are trained to provide deep pressure therapy to calm down a person and reduce the severity of
anxiety attacks.
ā— Unconditional love: All training aside, dogs are animals who provide unconditional love to their
humans, and this in itself can be a major encouraging factor for people with depression/anxiety to
fight their illness. Moreover, knowing that your psychiatric service dog is there to take care of you
encourages you to move out and meet people, which helps you manage the symptoms of your
condition better.
Pets have long been known to have beneficial health effects on people, both physically and mentally.
However, for someone with severe mental illnesses like major depression and anxiety, a psychiatric
service dog can be a life saver. With time, these dogs become more attuned to the needs of their
handler/human, and can often recognize signs that even other people cannot. These non judgmental,
loyal, and trained animals can provide the right kind of care to mental health patients and set them on

Porter s Porter, 1992 Model Of Competitive Advantage
Porter, (1992) model of competitive advantage has three generic strategies these are cost
leadersĀ¬Ā¬Ā¬Ā¬hip, differentiation and focus strategy. An organization can accomplish greater profit rates
over their competitors in either of the two ways (Grant, 2005).
By supplying a product at a comparatively lower cost which means cost leadership strategy. By
supplying an item which is differentiated from their rival s product in such a way that the consumers
are ready to pay at a quality price for the product. This is known as differentiation strategy.
Cost Leadership
Cost leadership is where an organization accomplishes relatively lower costs than their rivals and
competes across a broad range of divisions Thompson, (2005). An organization must be willing to
offer their products at the lowest possible price without making any compromises in the quality of the
product. It does not imply that the company has to offer their product at the lowest market price as
those products are often regarded as inferior. A company which concentrate on cost leadership strategy
will be able to produce greater profit margins by marketing more product units. Cost leadership can be
accomplished by superior management, concentrating on cost saving opportunities, ... Show more

Back in history Eucharist was more than just a thing that they did to be close to God and remember what Jesus had done for us. But back in the early church it was more of a worship service in and of itself. This could benefit many people in the church because meals would start to mean more to the people that are in the church. That it would not just be a time to gather and eat but to spend time in communion with people also to worship God together serving Him in a service that has to do with actions as well as the placement of ones soul. Journalistic Dishonesty In Dante s Inferno In her popular translation of Dante s Inferno, English writer Dorothy Sayers explains that Bolgia 9 in the eighth circle of hell is reserved for sowers of discord, those who are ready to rip up the whole fabric of society to gratify a sectional egotism. If Dante had assigned fraudulent journalists a place in hell melodramatic as it is to think about he probably would have put them in Bolgia 9. Any intentional inaccuracy in a story is a betrayal of the public s trust and is inexcusable for a professional whose job it is to report the truth; as Walter Lippmann once affirmed, There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and to shame the devil. • 9. Support Language Development There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro (2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new target vocabulary. Hurrell (1999) criticises the motion of copy writing: as it gives the children too many things to focus on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a very difficult task especially in a foreign language with differing word structures and sentence conventions. Another criticism of copy writing is that children often make assumptions that copy writing is easy which means they do not necessarily pay full attention, meaning they make careless mistakes which result in the little recall of the vocabulary (Macaro, 2006). Alternative activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008), encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises phonetic awareness. It is important for children to improve their phonetic awareness when learning to write in a foreign language alongside being allowed to make mistakes without fear of second language anxiety, as outlined by Levine ... Tolstoy focused on two men to represent and carry the burden of finding those ethereal values. Throughout the novel, he utilized numerous images, symbols, dialogue, and foreshadowing to advance the progress of his characters. Yet, his most effective use of technical device can be found in describing the psychological thoughts and interior monologues of the characters. Upon further examination of War and Peace, he expresses these Zen and early Christian beliefs specifically through the mental thoughts of Pierre, Andrei, and even the mythical Platon. Though not as skilled a writer of the human mind as his compatriot, Fyodor Dostoevsky, he did meritoriously utilize Pierre s and Andrei s mental awareness and psychological changes of consciousness to foreshadow upcoming actions and to present the Zen belief, so popular in the modern western world today. • 22. Character Analysis Of Don Giovanni Jason Dang Professor Heywood MUSC 131 1 December 2017 W.A. Mozart Don Giovanni Produced by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787, Don Giovanni is regarded as one the best operas ever made. The piece is based on the legend of Don Juan, an illusory libertine and seducer of women (Kerns, 2010). At first, Mozart s opera seems more like a story of the romantic adventures of a dissolute nobleman and his disgrace. However, there is much more to Don Giovanni than just a series of events and serious laughs, just as the protagonist is much more than a notorious, single minded, and unprincipled seducer. Closer examination of the piece reveals its core themes of social classes and divisions as depicted by Leporello s complaints about his servitude to his employer in the first scene (Mozart, Fisher, Ponte, 2007). The play also touches on vital human traits and principles, including loyalty, faithfulness, and sincerity. More importantly, Don Giovanni centers on the ambiguity intrinsic to human relations, the intricate connection between life and death, and the interminable tension between love and the risk of its extermination. Don Giovanni can be characterized as a comic opera due to its indulgence with tragic themes, such as crime and murder, in an astoundingly funny manner. By definition, an opera is an art form in which the composers combine dramatic works with musical scores and libretto or text in theatrical settings. The singing may be either melodic or recitative. Arctic wolves have been known to prey on snowy owls because unlike regular owls they build their nests on the ground. This brings a disadvantage to the snowy owl since it is now more accessible to prey. The last tertiary consumer in this biome is the polar biome. The polar bear consumes the arctic fox, arctic hare, and sometimes the reindeer. Because nothing are predators to the arctic wolf or polar, they die a natural death. • 26. Figurative Language In MLK Jr. s I Have A Dream Martin Luther King Jr. was the man who wrote the speech entitled I have a dream and presented it to nearly 250,000 people on August 23, 1963. In that speech, MLK Jr. used several different types of figurative language/rhetorical devices in order to convey his message to the people on a deeper level. These devices include personification, allusion, symbolism, hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and anaphora. Personification is a form of figurative language that gives an object human qualities. One example of this in MLK Jr. s writing would include I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its creed . Instead of just straight up telling the audience the name of something, MLK Jr. was able to show the reader who he ment with the use of context clues. Afterall, if any author can inform their audience of the person or thing they are referencing without telling the audience who or what it actually is, they can keep the audience in the mind set they want to have their audience in instead of having their mind wander off, thinking about other things in which that person or object was or is currently involved in. MLK Jr. took advantage of this by only referencing Lincoln through Emancipation Proclamation, which was related to the topic at hand, racial equality of people of color. Symbolism itself is the use of a symbol (like an object or fact) to represent an idea or quality that is not what the symbol itself physically is. MLK Jr. used symbolism as a way to show the reader or listener to his speech his ideas or his point in a clearer manner. One example of symbolism he used would be, Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of justice. In that quote MLK talks about a dark and desolate valley of segregation and the sunlit path of justice. The dark and desolate valley of segregation is referring to the U.S. at that point in time. Thor is the god of thunder and son of Odin, ruler of Asgard in Norse mythology. A powerful God that was next in line for the throne of Asgard. Thor had the power of thunder and was able to control its power with his hammer, which also allows him to fly. Comparing Thor to Jesus, both are powerful beings. Asgard and Heaven are very similar as it is where the Gods/God live. With great power both Thor and Jesus conquered things in their own way. Jesus conquered sin, not by using his fists to fight Satan, but instead he was crucified to stop Satan controls over the people. Where in Soteriology 1 payment for sin. Jesus conquered sin by offering his body, the body of god, to repent for the people of the world s sin. Unlike Jesus, Thor s course of action is not non violence. The Moral Ambivalence Of Crime And Criminology Crime and Criminology Essay It is common knowledge that crime exists all over the world and that justice and punishment may vary in different countries and societies. However, how justice and punishment is enforced in a society and globally is not common knowledge. Global justice refers to the belief that the world is unjust; while social justice, in a manner of speaking, refers to the fair treatment of everyone in a society.( Social Justice ). Both social and global justice value human rights, remove inequality, and holds people accountable for fair practices.( Social Justice ). If someone commits the same crime as another person, for example, they should receive the same punishment. That is what most people would be inclined to believe, but in the reading The Moral Ambivalence of Crime in an Unjust Society by Jeffrey Reiman, crime and justice is reviewed and defined in an uncommon way. Reiman discusses justice in a society where a crime was committed against him and his wife. A visit to France should be like a dream come true, an experience of a lifetime, but for Jeffrey Reiman and his wife it was not. In the summer of 2005, they visited a town called Nice. Zinn first explains that the governments main interest from the start wasn t really to even stop fascism but rather to advance the counties own imperial interest. For example, Italy during this time was practicing fascism. If the The US was opposed to fascism the government would have tried to cut Italy off but instead it let American Businesses send oil to Italy. Zinn then explains how policies in the United States almost perfectly mirrored those practiced in the fascists Nations. He portrays this in two ways, first he explains the treatment of women and then explains the racism the broke out in the US towards the Japanese. Fascist nations strongly believed in fallowing gender roles. What I mean by this is that, according to fascists principle women were to basically embrace their stereotypes; staying at home and being good housewives. Even though the US was supposed to be in a war against fascism, it really didn t do anything differently to help equalize the role of women and men. Apparently other than using women in defense industries the US didn t do anything different, also keep in mind there were no other options besides women at this time. United states policies kept women out of the policy making areas and only used them for war work.
