ratio of total deposit to total Funding, liquid assets to demand liabilities and gross loans to total
deposit were used as the measurement criteria.
To crown up it all, new challenges and opportunities come with liquidity that the bank has which
finally can affect the efficiency of the banks.
The paper contributes the literature in Tanzania banking system in the following manner:
The liquidity measure will give any indication whether the commercial banks are operating at higher
level of liquidity or not and the development of capital market is still in infancy stage this will give
confidence to the policy markers, bank management and stakeholders to overcome challenges arising
in commercial banks

Mary Shelley Constraints
In everything, there are constraints to what you can do in that subject. I am currently in a class that
studies how those constraints bring about the creativity in the world. I believe Mary Shelley is an
excellent example of how a beaucoup of restraints can lead to one of the best novels of all time,
Frankenstein. The most notable would be the time period she wrote it in, that she was a woman
pursuing any sort of career in that time period, and creating a new genre of book altogether.
Mary Shelley is thought to have a very tragic life. Mary Shelley was born August 30, 1797 to Mary
Wolstencraft Godwin and William Godwin and she had a sister named Fanny. About a week later, her
mother died due to ongoing fever (Mellor). About four years

The Requirements Of Australian Standards
Accounting for Business Combinations and its relevant issues under the requirements of Australian
standards have raised a considerable number of concerns, and therefore remained controversial for
both accountants and scholars who have been struggling to deal with the practical and theoretical
development of the Accounting industry. Regardless of such difficulties, due to the undeniable
meaning of Accounting practices and the enormity of transactions involved on a daily basis, it is of
great importance to research, study and understand the application of Business combination
Accounting according to Australian requirements.
As a matter of fact, within the limitation of a short paper, this study aims to provide a critical review
on the Accounting issues in Business combination under the requirement of Australian standards or to
be specific, under the conceptual framework provided by the Australian Accounting Standard Board
(AASB.) Firstly, evaluation on the exclusions from the scope of AASB 3 is brought about, followed
by the implications of the requirement to use the acquisition method of accounting for business
combinations, the determination of fair value of assets, the reasons why fair value method is chosen in
a business combination and lastly, a review on the nature and treatment of goodwill or bargain
purchase from these particular transactions will be mentioned.
Exclusions from the scope of AASB 3
First of all, the determination of Business combination stated in

The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton
The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton The impeachment of President Clinton is something that
will be remembered forever. Along with the fact that a presidential impeachment has only happened
one other time since the Civil War, the publicity that came with the Clinton trial was extensive (Miller
2004). While the Republican and Democratic members of the House of Representatives had vastly
different views on impeaching President Clinton, the fact that only five Democratic Representatives
voted to impeach him truly shows how wide that gap was between the two parties. Clinton was
impeached on the grounds of perjury to a grand jury and obstruction of justice, with the vote on both
articles extremely close, a 228 206 vote on perjury to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the merits of that argument, such action is clearly unnecessary. There is no need or
justification for us to take this important action in such haste (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). In
another case, Democrat Rush Holt defeated Republican Michael Pappas in the 1998 contest of New
Jersey s 12th Congressional District, but Pappas still cast his vote on the impeachment. Holt believed
that Pappas should withdraw his impeachment vote because it s a matter of historic significance and
he doesn t have to answer to anybody (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). Against Holt s and many others
views, Pappas, along with the other thirty nine representatives in their final term, participated in the
impeachment trial while facing no electoral accountability (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). While the
Democrats still could have received some votes from the departing Republican representatives, the
chances that enough Republican representatives would vote non guilty to create a Democratic majority
were very slim. In the 105th Congress, the House of Representatives consisted of 227 members from
the Republican Party, 207 members from the Democratic Party, and one member who was
Independent but sided with the Democrats (Congressional Pictorial Directory). With the fifty two
percent Republican majority, as long as all 227 Republicans voted for the counts of impeaching
Clinton, no Democratic votes would be needed. This proved to be the

Characteristics Of Web Based Learning
This week s reading discussed a variety of topics such as web based learning, identified and explored
web based learning activities and how to be faithful servants of God. In chapter eight of our text book
we looked at characteristics of four online module, how to select tools and strategies to build an online
course, and procedures for developing an effective online course. The first article discussed web 2.0
technology specifically Wikki s and how they are being used in the classroom. The second article
looked at the difference in information searching environments and how it affects the learning the
environment. All the resources for this week are crucial ways to improve learning and retention
especially for the slower learners.

The second article was published in the British Journal of Educational Technology and discussed the
effects of using selected network resources in web based problem solving. This research targeted a
senior high school computer class and attempted to compare the effects of using selected and open
network resources on students intentions about their information system usage by means of
technology acceptance model (TAM) questionnaires and learning effectiveness by analysis of
covariance of tests in web based problem solving activities (Hsu, 2013). The activities used in this
research project allowed students to learn from the total process of problem solving. All of these
activities were student centered and not teacher centered. The subjects of this research project were
measured on the basis of pre and post test design in which each test was composed of fifteen multiple
choice question(Hsu, 2012)s . The control group was the open source group and the experimental
group was the selected resource group. At the end of the research project each student completed a
questionnaire(Hsu, 2012).The results of this research project show that the lower and mid ability
students greatly benefited from this selected resource learning process and the advanced learners
benefited more from the open network resources. This research also showed that digital library s and

Chemical Bonding Properties of Molecules
1. For the following molecules determine which atoms are bonded (write the symbols with a bond
between them), the electronegativity difference between them, and the type of chemical bond it
represents. If the bond is ionic, state what ions are produced. If the bond is polar covalent, indicate the
direction of the dipole on the symbols from the first part.
a) KCl Electronegativity difference = K Cl = 0.8 3.0 = 2.2 ionic bond K1+ Cl1 b) LiBr

Both have London dispersion force drawing them together.
These two are isoelectronic so the London force should be the same. This is manifested in similar
boiling temperatures.
5. Why does liquid propane (C3H8) boil at a much lower temperature than gasoline (C8H18)?
Both are pure hydrocarbons and are non polar (symmetry causes dipoles to cancel). Both have london
dispersion force. Propane has 26 electrons, gasoline has 66. Since gasoline has more electrons, it has a
higher london dispersion force and so has a higher boiling temperature than propane.
6. Given the following molecules:
i) methane iii) butane ii) propane iv) methyl propane
a) Draw each structure

b) Predict the order of increasing melting point. Give reasons for your answer.
methane, propane, butane, methyl propane.
fewest electrons, lowest melting point. methyl propane is more compact than butane so it packs better
in the solid phase and has the highest melting point.
c) Predict the order of increasing boiling point. Give reasons for your answer.
methane, propane, methyl propane, butane
fewest electrons, lowest boiling point. butane has more surface area in the liquid phase so more
interactions with surrounding molecules give it a higher boiling point.

A Regression Analysis Of Consumer Related Data For A...
The main objective of this paper is to carry out a regression analysis of consumer related data for a
specific product. The product selected for analysis was sport utility vehicle (SUVs) sales in the United
States. The United States Department of Transportation website was the source of the data used for the
paper. It contained sales, market share, price, and fuel consumption information. Using this relevant
consumer information, a linear regression model was developed that investigated the relationship
between SUV sales, price, market share and fuel consumption. In this case, SUV sales is the
dependent variable and refers to the number of SUVs sold within the United States per year. On the
other hand, the market share (refers to the total ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Description of Dataset
As mentioned earlier, the data used for this paper was sourced from The United States Department of
Transportation website. In order to locate the dataset a Google search was conducted with search
terms that include SUV sales data annual sales. Google returned a number of website sources, which
were examined and sorted. From the list of searches, the best and most credible source was The
United States Department of Transportation website. Using the search feature available on the website
an additional search was carried out using similar search terms. The data titled Table 1 21: Period
Sales, Market Shares, and Sales Weighted Fuel Economies of New Domestic and Imported Light
Trucks (Thousands of vehicles) was downloaded and it contained sales, market share and fuel
consumption information for a number of light trucks (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016).
Using Excel, the original dataset was filtered in order to remove the small, medium, and large size
pickup data and only leave data on SUVs. The main reason for this is that the study was interested in
studying price, market share and consumption as factors that affect sales of SUVs in America. The
dataset contains annual data from 1990 to 2012. It also contains data from 1980 and 1985 (Bureau of
Transportation Statistics, 2016). This in total consisted of 25 observations for each dataset.

Epistemology Vs. Theory Of Knowledge
Epistemology, technically speaking, covers one third of all philosophical enquiry, and it is the branch
most concerned with faith.
Epistemology, or the theory of knowledge, is always asking questions like, how do you know that,
how do you know anything, what is knowledge, what signifies knowledge as fact as opposed to an
opinion? How to you get to fact from opinion?
I use epistemological questions to level the playing field across all my work. Here are some examples:
In Broad Apologetic Theory
When entering a new classroom I often get the students to describe their worldview. I do this by
giving everyone a blank sheet of paper and asking a series of questions that determine what they
know, what they think they know, what their priorities are, and what they truly care about deep down.
These questions range from who is the most important person in the world to why are you here and
each question is followed by an epistemological question such as how do you know that, why do you
think that, or how can you be certain that s true?
The result of this exercise is a wide variety of worldviews (or dare I say religions) that hinge on a
varying degree of faith. Even those who thought that they had an incredibly naturalistic, empirical or
scientific approach to life need to admit a large reliance of faith.
In Specific Apologetic Questions
When responding to specific questions about God s existence such as, how can you believe in a God
when evil exists , or hasn t

The Rise Of Pollution Levels
There I was in Shanghai, China, staring at the sun as if I were trying to look at a lamp behind a
curtain. The rise of pollution levels in China has intrigued the minds of people who never even cared
about the environment before. The People s Republic of China is now the largest emitter of CO2 in the
world. But of course, this a global phenomenon: a global phenomenon that in no way started with
China as Alanna Mitchell would agree to. By the end of the 19th century, the powerful duo that was
industrialization and imperialism spread industrial growth from Great Britain to Southeast Asia. From
the opium wars in the mid 19th century to the economic reforms of 1970s, China has been
incorporated into the global economy as the world s manufacturer. And as we know, modern
manufacturing is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. This has put an immense amount of international
pressure on the Chinese to improve their environmental footprint. But sustainable development needs
to start not just with China, but with all major players in the global economy. Mitchell s statement, the
idea that the planet s future might come down to China s choices is hard for the West to fathom (102)
is not only ironic, but a dangerous idea to accept. An historical context of China s industrialization and
urbanization will show you that Western interests in China led to its massive carbon emission. Further,
the root of the problem must be solved the way it started, with help from the West.

Canada s Identity And National Pride
During the time of the confederation in 1867, Canada was merely seen as one of the established
colonies within the British empire and was hence subordinate to the British Parliament and its
decisions, however it was gradually becoming more independent over a series of events that took
place over the years. From 1914 to 2017, Canada has continuously gone though gradual political
processes and developments untimely gaining its own identity and national pride. Canada has many
positive events that shaped it identity and contributed to gaining independence from Britain after
World War II, such as the making of the symbolic Canadian flag, the Order of Canada, and the
Constitution Act of 1982. The first significant event that helped Canada be

Construction Project Essay
The design phase in the construction project life cycle is considered as a significant contributor to the
project performance. Many researchers have considered this phenomenon as being dependent on the
project success which comprises of quality, cost, time and sustainability. Nowadays, most of the
construction projects must be delivered through the fast track, therefore it is difficult to co ordinate
between the specialists and personnel as there is no accepted platform of good practice in managing
the design process (Bibby, 2003). Although some technologies have been developed and applied in
construction projects, the performance of the construction industry is still considered low (Sacks
Goldin, 2007). (Aziz Hafez, 2013) argue that the current technologies can only improve the
management of the construction process, however, in improving quality of the projects effectively, it
does not reduce cost and time of design and construction. This is referred to as the traditional method
that is still in place and currently being practiced in the industry. The objective of this work is to
present the innovative design process in building construction projects where lean thinking (LT) is
being considered for design process improvements. This research proposes a design process model
that integrates LT into the traditional design process with activities which are able to eliminate wastes
in the design process. The model is based on the set based concurrent engineering (SBCE)

Essay about How World Poverty is Changing the Human Race
Poverty is an epidemic which has created a huge dent to human race. More than 50% of the world
population lives on less than $2.50 a day. People can t provide even one proper meal to their children.
The income differentials are widening across the globe. What are we doing to reduce this widening?
What are we doing to eliminate this menace of poverty? Why can t we produce enough food for
everyone? Why can t everyone have a proper shelter? Is it the greed in us, the cause for it? Why can t
we help each other and work together to eradicate poverty? Poverty is a menace to humanity. The

Literacy, Natural resources, climate, government systems, laws, regulations, culture, greed and many
other reasons cause poverty. More than half the world population lives on less than $2.50 a day. At
least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. The poorest 40% of the world s population
accounts for 5% of global income while the richest 20% accounts for 75% of world income. Poverty
affects every nation for a reason. There is no silver bullet to eliminate poverty. No one solution work
in every country.
There is no one solution to eradicate poverty. Governments should create laws to help bring people
above poverty. Rich countries with abundant natural resources should help out poor countries. Benefit
systems should be established in all countries. People should unite globally to eliminate this menace.
Currently, most of the work is being done by NGOs and non profit organizations. Instead,
governments, people from every walk of life, political leaders and organizations, every human should
unite and help each other to eliminate poverty. The unity of the people and desire to help each other is
the only real solution that could eliminate poverty forever.
Realistically people can help out in many ways. Local organizations, schools, and clubs can hold
fundraisers. Also, people can have clothing donation drives. Also, people can volunteer in soup
kitchens, and try not to waste

The Powerful Effects Of Nuclear Fission Bombs
How you ever thought about the chaos and havoc a nuclear war would cause? Today, we have very
advanced nuclear technology. We have hundreds of nuclear power plants worldwide, providing us
with a lot of electricity. Also, many nations still have nuclear weapons. These weapons would cause
horrifying damage and would emit a lot of radiation. Because of this threat, there is a lot of
international politics involved. But first of all, you re probably wondering What is a nuclear bomb? .
Nuclear fission bombs are bombs with the power up to 500 kilotons of TNT (For nuclear fission
bombs created in the past). The bomb uses a process called nuclear fission. A neutron hits and splits in
half a uranium 235 or plutonium 239. This releases heat, radiation, and more neutrons, which
continues to split more atoms. This is a huge chain reaction, and eventually so many atoms are split
apart so the heat level rises to very high temperatures. This causes the huge explosion. Although
nuclear fission bombs are very powerful, there is an even more powerful type of bomb. ... Show more

They contain a fission bomb, which provides the heat and pressure required to activate a fusion
reaction. A fusion reaction is when a deuterium atom (hydrogen with a neutron) combines with
another atom to form a larger atom. This process requires heat and pressure, and emits even more heat.
A fission bomb is used to start this reaction, and this reaction causes even higher temperatures and
more damage. For most average nuclear bombs, today destruction happens in a radius of 1.6
kilometers from the place of the bomb. Severe damage happens in a radius of 2 km, and moderate
damage in a radius of 3.2 km. Slight damage happens in a radius of 5.6

Animal Extinction and its Effects on the Human Race
Animal extinction is a tremendous problem in our society. Every year, more and more animals are
going extinct. If we don t do something to stop it, we could see a massive animal extinction in our
lifetime. Many people believe the extinction is irrelevant to human life. They are wrong. Every species
in our universe is part of a web. If one specie on the web goes the whole thing slowly starts to fall
apart, humans included (Bove).
We live in a magnificent place. I close my eyes. I feel the wind surround me, the birds chirping, the

Special Education Issues For Public Schools
Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public
schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students
suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough
money to fund the programs.
I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws
and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school
lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I
have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born
at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit
and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early
intervention services such as occupational therapy.
After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she
was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along
acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to
mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right.
I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher.

The Problem Of The Low Utilization Ratio Of Seats
Introduction Libraries have been playing a very important role in information, knowledge finding and
providing people great places to study. McGill University, one of the biggest and highly ranked
universities in Canada, consists of 11 facilities and has 39,988 students [1]. McGill University library
system comprises 13 branch libraries, holding over 6 million items and providing great quiet study,
group study rooms and computer for students and staff. However, most students have experienced
difficulties in finding a seat for studying or group discussing in the library, especially during the exam
period. Besides, although the library has clearly defined that students cannot occupy seats. But
because of the lack of the alarm system, it is difficult to judge which one is free and which one is not,
the problem of the low utilization ratio of seats is very serious. This leads to a serious waste of
resource and so many students who loves to study cannot find seats in the library. In addition, students
can be distracted from studying, by people who are walking around for finding a seat in the library.
Besides, the ubiquity and popularity of smartphones among end users have increasingly drawn

The three primary early advantages [least expensive design rate, surge in tech companies starting, and
accepting nearly any and all incoming bids] is no longer financially sustainable for Swell Spaces.
They need a financial and business plan that would allow them to be more discerning with client
proposals, diversify their client base, and charge more realistic project design fees. Small firms like

Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway
Walt Whitman s poem When I heard the Learn d Astronomer shows a moment which captures the
beauty of self reliance and non conformity. In the poem, the speaker listens to a lecturer who speaks
about astronomy through calculations and measurements. Being sick and tired of the lecture, the
speaker wanders off outside to see the stars for himself and becomes struck in awe of the physical
beauty of the stars. He also regains peace within himself after finding a new outlet for understanding.
This idea of non conformity being a precursor to self actualization and inner peace similarly resonates
in Virginia Woolf s novel Mrs. Dalloway. The portrayal Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith are
both examples in the novel that show the negative consequences of conformity. In the beginning lines
of the poem, the speaker begins to tell an anecdote about a time he heard a learn d astronomer . The
man is perceived to be highly intelligent and specifically invested in the study of astronomy. However,
Whitman contracts the word learned , presenting a plain voice that contrasts to the revered
sophistication of the astronomer (Whitman 1). This ironic use of tone could be used in order to make
fun of the astronomer, despite being a well educated man and a master of astronomy. Continuing on,
the astronomer presents his mathematical proofs , ranged in columns by using figures and the charts
and diagram (2 3). The speaker at this point hears the lecture as a list of random

the Ku Klux Klan, Christian Identity sects, Aryan Nation, as well as the creativity movement are all
far right extremist groups that support violence, separation, deportation, and immigration restrictions
of nonwhites so as to maintain the purity of the white race (Dyson).

Charles A Riley Disability And The Media Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetorical Analysis The mainstream press today when discussing a disabled celebrity disregards many

American Revolution Dbq Analysis
One of the biggest events in history is when the colonists decided to declare their independence and
break away from Great Britain. Was it necessary though? Yes, it was necessary for America to declare
independence from England as they had begun to outgrow their relationship for many years. The three
main reasons that contributed to the American Revolution were as follows. The first reason was that
the colonists were being taxed unfairly, the second reason was that colonists had no representation in
the English Parliament and the third reason was that the governing mother country was an ocean away
from the colonies. The colonies were first taken over by the British in the early 1600 s, and by the

The Innocent By Fredric Wertham
Introduction Comic books originated in the 1930s and superhero comics rose to popularity quickly
becoming the most prominent comic books within the first decade. The most popular original
superhero comics included Superman, Batman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Wonder
Woman. Superman was originally published in 1938 and is considered to be the first of its kind, the
super powered protagonist, beginning the heroic genre. These comics grew to such popularity so
quickly that almost immediately they became adapted into shows and films. Superman paved the way
for numerous comic books to be adapted into movies and television shows. After World War II, the
popularity of the comics declined. The two reasons for the decline in ... Show more content on

The Hearings that focused on comic books specifically were in order to prove that people like
Wertham were correct and could also testify their argument that comic books cause harm. The
hearings took place in New York where they would discuss horror comics and other comics in bad
taste that could only further its impact on youths becoming delinquents (Coville).
Both situations caused comic book distributors to take the stories off of the racks consequently leading
to a serious decline in sales and popularity. Superheroes have been created within a completely
different dimension of our own, thus creating its own form of language and allowing the fans to exist
within two dimensions at the same time.
The lack of popularity led the books to be uncommon which led to quite a stereotype: only nerds read
superhero comics. This stereotype impacted the language used within and about this community.
Originally, it was considered normal for people to converse about superheroes but, after the popularity
died down, it became nerdy for people to talk about and eventually they developed their own
conversation and own use of vocabulary that became unknown to people outside of the community.

different languages, behaviors, and ways of dressing and appearing. Many outside of these forums will

I. History of Poland
After the Partitions of Poland (1772 1795), which had decreased the size of the country, giving most

The First World War provided a practical chance for Poland to restore its independence. The powers,
which had separated the country more than one hundred years earlier, were fighting on opposite sides.
Germany with the Austro Hungarian Empire (the Central Powers) fought Imperial Russia allied with
France and Great Britain. Polish troops, under their own banners, also joined the fight. At first, under

Poland had to balance between Germany and Soviet Russia. In 1932 Poland signed a non aggression
treaty with the Soviet Union, which was to last until 1945. In 1934 a similar ten year pact was signed
with Germany. One year earlier, shortly after Adolf Hitler s ascension to power, Polish Head of State
Marshal Pilsudski made a secret proposal to France to mount together a preemptive strike against
Germany to unseat Hitler before the Germans had time to rearm. But France refused, compelling the
Polacks to do the next best thing: to enter into a non aggression pact with the Germans. In 1936 the
Germans broke the Versailles treaty by reoccupying the demilitarized zone in the Rhineland, thus
demonstrating to the world their aggressive intentions. As we now know, Hitler and Joseph Stalin
eventually broke both non aggression pacts.
After annexing Austria, Sudetenland and Czechoslovakia in March 1939, the German government
repeated their request to Poland, demanding that Gdansk become part of the Third Reich and that an
extraterritorial highway and railroad be constructed across the so called quot;Polish Corridor. quot;
The request was rejected by Poland. In April 1939 a mutual assistance treaty was concluded between
Poland, France and Great Britain. On August 23, 1939, the Ribbentrop Molotow pact was signed in

A Tiny Home is a house which is less than 300 400 square feet in size. Most of the Tiny Homes are
only 200 square feet and they serve the purpose of providing comfort and safety quite well. This is the
planning stage, when you must think of every significant thing or you might spend massive amounts
of time rethinking your decisions.
The idea is to think tiny. When you begin, you must understand what you need to carry out and to do
that, you must know why Tiny Homes are so good for you. It helps you to plan your Tiny Home and
make a list of things you want to do in it and the kind of items that are indispensable to your lifestyle.
The main things that you should think about are the advantages, the utility aspect, expenses, and
having your own solar panel grid for power for your house. The advantages are self explanatory. The
utility factor includes simplicity, expense and minimalistic living. The solar power grid will need some
figuring out from your side. You can read about how to make calculations in the coming chapters.
Using solar power will cut costs and give you the mobility you need.
Advantages of a Tiny Home
● First, there is no wastage of space. Everything is within reach.
● Next, you do not spend much, either on the building or for maintaining the Tiny Home.
● When you begin to think small, your cost comes down.
● The Tiny Homes are environmentally friendly since you will naturally produce less waste.
● Life becomes simpler. o You cannot hang on to your shoe

Pastor s Report for the Laurel Church of the Nazarene 2016
We have been spending some time with the verse from Luke(9:23) And he said to all, If any man
would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. We have sent
the last month asking the question Are you a Fan or a follower? What makes us a follower? What do
we have to give up to be a follower? What will we exchange for our lives?
Everything we have is a gift from God. We owe him everything, including our very lives. It is possible
to give God our money, but not ourselves, or to give him lip service, but not our hearts. A true disciple
gives up all that he has in exchange for an unending life of joy and happiness with God. Are you ready
to lose all for Jesus Christ in order to gain all with Jesus Christ?
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and all my will, all that I have
and possess. You have given them to me; to you, O Lord, I restore them; all things are yours, dispose
of them according to your will. Give me your love and your grace, for this is enough for me. (Prayer
of Ignatius of Loyola, 1491 1556)

The Believability of John Grisham’s Bleachers Essay
Many people form their opinions of whether or not a book is believable solely on the book s
classification as nonfiction or fiction. Others use New Critical analysis to determine whether a book is
believable or not. The use of New Critical analysis requires the reader to consider events that happen
throughout the book and any conflict that may have occurred. It also requires that the reader focus on
the plot of the book and the characters. Grisham sets the book to take place in a small, football crazed
town, known as Messina. The book is set in present day time, but Grisham uses his characters to
incorporate flashbacks from the sixties, seventies, and eighties. Grisham uses many characters
throughout the entire book to tell the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Grisham stated: [on] Friday nights, the entire town of Messina waited for the gate to open, then
rushed to the bleachers where seats were claimed and nervous pregame rituals were followed. The
black, paved pasture around Rake Field would overflow long before the opening kickoff, sending the
out of town traffic into the dirt roads and alleys and remote parking zones behind the school s cafeteria
and its baseball field. (2) Many people would question whether or not this detail is believable,
especially if they are unaware of how big of a sport high school football is in the South. Grisham lets
us see that high school football is a sport that the whole town of Messina was involved in. He also lets
us see that the people of Messina not only loved high school football, but they had rituals they
followed as well. Readers, who are unfamiliar with Southern high school football tradition, would
question Grisham s depiction of Messina s rules. When describing an incident involving a Messina
field keeper named Rabbit (43) and a speeding opposing player, known as Lightning Loyd (44),
Grisham states that the score was tied late in the third quarter (44) when: to the horror (and delight) of
ten thousand Messina faithful, Rabbit flung his bony and brittle body into the arena, and somewhere
around the thirty five yard line, he collided with Lighting. The collision, while nearly fatal for Rabbit,
who at the time was at least forty years old, had little

Key Issues and Concerns in the Development of a Proposal
Introduction
Status of the Opportunity
The first steps taken after reviewing a Request for Proposal involves determining the status of the
opportunity. (Johnson Sheehan, 2008). In short one must determine if an opportunity or problem
exists. The Request for Proposal under review indicates that Government officials are soliciting a
vocational initiative that will be funded to train a service oriented work force. The service jobs

More information is definitely needed to determine whether a solid opportunity exists in this case. By
all appearances this may be a philanthropic opportunity as opposed to a personal profit opportunity.
The request is asking to a lot within what may be an unrealistic budget. Further exploration of key
issues of concern will follow.
Defining the Problem
In the process of reviewing the provided Request for Proposal (RFP) it has came to our team s
attention that there are several areas of concern. To begin with there is no identifying name or
reference number so as to separate this request for proposal from any other that the originator my have
out for review. There is no creation date or closing date for applications. This makes it very hard for
the contractor to reference this RFP in correspondence to the point of contact. With the fact
outstanding that there is no point of contact listed or a contracting office or department named in the
RFP, collecting addition information presents it own problems. The Five W and How questions
referenced in chapter two of Johnson Sheehan s, Writing Proposals would be consider as ignored by
the contractor. (Johnson Sheehan, 2008). If the contractor was interested enough he would have to
work his way through a long list of red tape to get his proposal to the proper person for review and

developed by Microsoft. It is part of the Microsoft Office suite, and runs on Microsoft Windows and

There are no compelling results to prove or disprove that PowerPoint is more effective for learner
retention than traditional presentation methods.[9] The effect on audiences of poor PowerPoint
presentations has been described as PowerPoint hell.
[edit]Criticism
Although PowerPoint has the aforementioned benefits, some argue that PowerPoint has negatively
impacted society. The terms Death by PowerPoint and PowerPoint Hell refer to the poor use of the
software. Many large companies and branches of the government use PowerPoint as a way to brief
employees on important issues that they must make decisions about. Opponents of PowerPoint argue
that reducing complex issues to bulleted points is detrimental to the decision making process; in other
words, because the amount of information in a presentation must be condensed, viewing a PowerPoint
presentation does not give one enough detailed information to make a truly informed decision.
A frequently cited example is Edward Tufte s analysis of PowerPoint slides prepared for briefing
NASA officials concerning possible damage to the Space Shuttle Columbia during its final launch.
[10] Tufte argues that the slides, prepared by the Boeing Corporation, had the effect of
oversimplifying the situation, and provided false assurance that the ultimately fatal damage to the
shuttle was only minimal. Tufte argued:

We were first tasked to create a sound piece in groups of 6 depicting what happened from when Jo and

reversing, an impression created through Actor 1 s beep sound effect. The beeping got faster
continuously, and Actor 2 (Jo) shouted Judy slow down a bit! before they started to laugh. The
beeping that gradually got faster suggested that the car was going to crash into something, before their
laughter breaks the tension and gives the scene an anti climax. This suggests that they are in a drunken
state, because people would not usually be laughing at the prospect of crashing their car. This also
efficaciously foreshadows the tragic accident that occurs later. To further build up the tension, Actor 1
could have walked towards the audience as he performed the sound effect to suggest that the car was
crashing into them. For Task Two we were required to add movement to the piece. A section near the
end portrayed the accident as it happened. Actors 2 and 3(Judy) were sat on blocks behind two tables,

student athletes should not receive a pay check to participate in a sport. However on the other end of
the spectrum, many critics believe that student athletes should receive pay for play because not only
are they participating in a sport, they are entertaining the spectators. They believe that if performers in

The NCAA believes that a student athlete is a student first and athlete second. Student athletes benefit
more than from playing a sport that they love. The graduation rate is higher among the student athletes
than the general student body. NCAA studies show that student athletes enjoy high levels of
engagement in academics, athletics and community: have positive feeling about their overall athletics
and academic experiences: attribute invaluable life skills to being a student athlete: and are more
likely to earn similar or higher wages after college than non student athletes. The majority of student
athletes attend college to receive an education. It is a bonus that they are allowed to play a sport that
they love a few years longer, before they have to move on and enter the workforce in the field for
which they studied for. Advocates for not providing pay for play

The Life Of Margaret Sanger And Planned Motherhood
Imagine finding yourself pregnant at the age of 30 with your ninth child. You live in a small apartment
and you are unable to feed all of the members of your large family, also clueless as to how to prevent
future pregnancies. This story would not be too far from reality for many women over a hundred years
ago. It is also similar in ways to the life of Margaret Sanger, a women s rights activist who is
responsible for the family planning movement that started birth control. Margaret Sanger s mother had
11 children and 18 pregnancies, that definitely took a destructive toll on her body, and she died at only
46 years old (Yasunari 2000). Margaret took notice of what happened to her mother and many other
women, inspiring her to make it her life s work to help women have more control over their bodies
and families. Margaret s work grew famous for the beginning of a birth control movement and the
later creation of Planned Parenthood, but it also has a sometimes dark side of eugenics. She went to
college to be a nurse and treated many women who continued to have children, even though they were
wishing to prevent pregnancies. Margaret saw a correlation between impoverished struggling families
and having a large number of children. Margaret referred to women being slaves to their bodies and
involuntary motherhood, and also that by age 35, motherhood often exhausted women s bodies
(Katzive 2015). She also probably noticed how desperate some women were to prevent pregnancies.

Immigration And The United States
Immigration is one of the most heated topics in the U.S. political and social agenda and usually evokes
strong polar opinions in the American society, in part due to its complex composition of peoples and
cultures. It is precisely due to this fact, that the interpreters and translators working in the field of
Immigration must be familiar not only with the basic types of immigration hearings, but have an
understanding of the history of Immigration in the United States, different types of visas and statuses
as well as paths to Permanent Residency and Citizenship.
This Unit will provide you with the condensed knowledge of the main events in the United States
history, explain the difference between the numerous types of visas and inform you ... Show more

1. HISTORY OF IMMIGRATION
The United States of America has a rich immigration history, dating back to the 18th century, where
there were virtually no immigration restrictions, making the U.S. a kaleidoscope of ethnic and cultural
groups it is today. Following the Civil War, several U.S. states made initial attempts in regulating
immigration, which led to the 1875 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court to make the immigration a
federal responsibility, thus launching a chain of Immigration laws and regulations leading us to today.
The first immigration law, the Page Act of 1875 (aka the Asian Exclusion Act) was passed in 1875 and
prohibited the importation of Asian contract workers, any Asian women who would engage in
prostitution and everybody who is considered to be a convict in their own county. The Page Act of
1875 was followed by the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act, which prohibited Chinese contract laborers to
immigrate to the United States, as well as Alien Contract Labor laws of 1885 and 1887, both of which
broadened the laborers exclusion list.
Soon after, the increasingly complex immigration laws established by the federal government led to
the creation of the Office of the Superintendent of Immigration within the Treasure Department. The
newly organized government office inspected, admitted or rejected as well as processed all the newly
arriving immigrants.
January 2nd, 1892 marked the opening of the famous immigration station located on Ellis Island in the

Essay on Robert Browning
The Jealous Monk
Robert Browning s, Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister involves a jealous monk with much hatred of,
Brother Lawrence, the perfect monk. Irony, diction, and syntax are clearly evident in this dramatic
monologue.
Throughout the poem the nameless monk is constantly expressing his anger and sarcasm through the
use of syntactical irony. This particular monk is angered at a fellow monk, as evidenced by quot;If
hate killed men, Brother Lawrence, God s blood, would not mine kill you! quot; which seems ironic
knowing he is a religious monk. He is taking out his anger to a great extent, which is not good church
practice. Obviously it seems that Brother Lawrence is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a monk, he plays the total opposite of an actual monk. He puts down the innocent Brother
Lawrence, when he himself is the rotten one. Browning expresses certain words with diction. A monk
does not watch girls wash their clothes and hair at the bank. Steeping tresses in the tank, Blue black,
lustrous, think like horsehairs, the selfish monk does this, not the innocent Brother Lawrence. As a
monk, one should not look upon women showering themselves and washing clothes. Being the
opposite of a monk he also owns a dirty book, My Scrofulous French novel...If I double down its
pages at the woeful sixteenth print, he also knows exact pages of the book to look at. Towards the end
of the poem the monk plans to rid himself of his fellow Brother, by sending him to Hell. He speaks of
slipping his French novel revealing quot;Belial s gripe, quot; Belial being one of the classical devils of
Hell, the Lord of Lies. One may determine that the monk intends to present a false message to his
Brother in order to damn his soul. It is clear that he is not following his title as a monk; he is a traitor
to his own name.
Throughout Browning s Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister , he exposes different devices used. Irony,
diction, and syntax all play a major role in each stanza. By

Autistic Thronology Research Paper
The Link Between Autism and Otolaryngology
According to the CDC, about 1 in 88 children in the United States fall into the autistic spectrum. If
your child has autism, you should pay a visit to your local Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor. It is not
uncommon for autistic children to suffer with maladies that can be diagnosed and treated by an
otolaryngologist. By doing this, you may be able to help your child overcome some of the obstacles
they face, and it might even help with any self injurious behavior. It can be very difficult to pinpoint
what it bothering your autistic child due to communication issues, so you want to make sure that there
is not a medical reason behind some of your child s behavior.
It is not uncommon for children with

Syrian Jets Bombed A Marketplace
Syrian jets bombed a marketplace in Douma, Syria in August of 2015 (Robins Early 5). This was an
attack that occurred in the midst of the Syrian civil war, a war between the government (led by
President Bashar al Assad) and rebel civilians. The current civil war revolves around a conflict
regarding the balance of power within the country, while an immense number of innocent civilians are
being caught in the center of the violence and instability that the brutal war is causing. Over 4 million
people have left the country as refugees, while others have been unable to escape the horrific violence
(Robins Early 1). Amongst those who have been stuck within the country, children are quitting school
to make money to support their families, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the United Nations (U.N.), the total number of children deaths has been over 8,500,
including 2,000 under the age of 10 (Omer 1). This brutal war has undoubtedly affected the lives of
many Syrian citizens, and while the death toll continues to rise, the lives of Syrian children are being
affected the most, as they are most vulnerable to the damage. Anthony Lake, the executive director of
the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF), says that Never in recent memory have so many
children been subjected to such unspeakable brutality (Omer 1). While many children are being
affected by crises around the world, UNICEF s executive director believes that this war that has been
going on for half a decade is what has been most cruel towards children because of the violent nature
of the war that takes place amongst them. Wynn Flaten, the director of World Vision s Syria Crisis
Regional Response team, says that refugee children need special protection. They need to get into
schools. Even when they can get in, often the classrooms are overflowing with extra students, or they
are bullied to such an extent that they no longer even want to go (Omer 2). The war is affecting the
children greatly, as when they try to get the education they want, they are often rejected by either the
school or the bullies within them. Either way, they are turned away from getting a proper education,

Repko And Rezostak
Interdisciplinary studies can be recited as a degree plan that will allow students to use their knowledge
from pervious field to another field study. In the textbook the authors Repko and Szostak (2017),
describe interdisciplinary as studies between two or more fields of study. This can also be considered
as a research study that will enhance knowledge in understanding a variety of complex situations
while constructing a field study. Repko and Szostak argue that interdisciplinary should be viewed as
complementary to discipline rather than a threat to them. My beliefs is that interdisciplinary can be
beneficial educational path because it can combine an existing knowledge of field study to use to
another new study. My interdisciplinary is Rehabilitation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

understanding the causes and side effects. Even though my profession may differ from other

In the article Youngblood (2007), view interdisciplinary as bridging discipline that is unsuccessful but
can be changed by finding the strengths in both interdisciplinary. Youngblood states that the
development of interdisciplinary effects strengths rather the weakness the disciplines. It should be
clear that a credit should be given where credits is due. If a development was created, it should be

disciplinary one that would be a mistake because the purpose is different. Both are needed,

I am currently in a class that studies how those constraints bring about the creativity in the world. I believe Mary Shelley is an excellent example of how a beaucoup of restraints can lead to one of the best novels of all time, Frankenstein. The most notable would be the time period she wrote it in, that she was a woman pursuing any sort of career in that time period, and creating a new genre of book altogether. Mary Shelley is thought to have a very tragic life. Mary Shelley was born August 30, 1797 to Mary Wolstencraft Godwin and William Godwin and she had a sister named Fanny. • 4. The Requirements Of Australian Standards Accounting for Business Combinations and its relevant issues under the requirements of Australian standards have raised a considerable number of concerns, and therefore remained controversial for both accountants and scholars who have been struggling to deal with the practical and theoretical development of the Accounting industry. Regardless of such difficulties, due to the undeniable meaning of Accounting practices and the enormity of transactions involved on a daily basis, it is of great importance to research, study and understand the application of Business combination Accounting according to Australian requirements. As a matter of fact, within the limitation of a short paper, this study aims to provide a critical review on the Accounting issues in Business combination under the requirement of Australian standards or to be specific, under the conceptual framework provided by the Australian Accounting Standard Board (AASB.) Firstly, evaluation on the exclusions from the scope of AASB 3 is brought about, followed by the implications of the requirement to use the acquisition method of accounting for business combinations, the determination of fair value of assets, the reasons why fair value method is chosen in a business combination and lastly, a review on the nature and treatment of goodwill or bargain purchase from these particular transactions will be mentioned. • 5. The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton The impeachment of President Clinton is something that will be remembered forever. Along with the fact that a presidential impeachment has only happened one other time since the Civil War, the publicity that came with the Clinton trial was extensive (Miller 2004). While the Republican and Democratic members of the House of Representatives had vastly different views on impeaching President Clinton, the fact that only five Democratic Representatives voted to impeach him truly shows how wide that gap was between the two parties. Clinton was impeached on the grounds of perjury to a grand jury and obstruction of justice, with the vote on both articles extremely close, a 228 206 vote on perjury to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whatever the merits of that argument, such action is clearly unnecessary. There is no need or justification for us to take this important action in such haste (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). In another case, Democrat Rush Holt defeated Republican Michael Pappas in the 1998 contest of New Jersey s 12th Congressional District, but Pappas still cast his vote on the impeachment. Holt believed that Pappas should withdraw his impeachment vote because it s a matter of historic significance and he doesn t have to answer to anybody (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). Against Holt s and many others views, Pappas, along with the other thirty nine representatives in their final term, participated in the impeachment trial while facing no electoral accountability (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). While the Democrats still could have received some votes from the departing Republican representatives, the chances that enough Republican representatives would vote non guilty to create a Democratic majority were very slim. In the 105th Congress, the House of Representatives consisted of 227 members from the Republican Party, 207 members from the Democratic Party, and one member who was Independent but sided with the Democrats (Congressional Pictorial Directory). With the fifty two percent Republican majority, as long as all 227 Republicans voted for the counts of impeaching Clinton, no Democratic votes would be needed. This proved to be the ... This research targeted a senior high school computer class and attempted to compare the effects of using selected and open network resources on students intentions about their information system usage by means of technology acceptance model (TAM) questionnaires and learning effectiveness by analysis of covariance of tests in web based problem solving activities (Hsu, 2013). The activities used in this research project allowed students to learn from the total process of problem solving. All of these activities were student centered and not teacher centered. The subjects of this research project were measured on the basis of pre and post test design in which each test was composed of fifteen multiple choice question(Hsu, 2012)s . The control group was the open source group and the experimental group was the selected resource group. At the end of the research project each student completed a questionnaire(Hsu, 2012).The results of this research project show that the lower and mid ability students greatly benefited from this selected resource learning process and the advanced learners benefited more from the open network resources. Both are pure hydrocarbons and are non polar (symmetry causes dipoles to cancel). Both have london dispersion force. Propane has 26 electrons, gasoline has 66. Since gasoline has more electrons, it has a higher london dispersion force and so has a higher boiling temperature than propane. 6. The product selected for analysis was sport utility vehicle (SUVs) sales in the United States. The United States Department of Transportation website was the source of the data used for the paper. It contained sales, market share, price, and fuel consumption information. Using this relevant consumer information, a linear regression model was developed that investigated the relationship between SUV sales, price, market share and fuel consumption. In this case, SUV sales is the dependent variable and refers to the number of SUVs sold within the United States per year. On the other hand, the market share (refers to the total ... In order to locate the dataset a Google search was conducted with search terms that include SUV sales data annual sales. Google returned a number of website sources, which were examined and sorted. From the list of searches, the best and most credible source was The United States Department of Transportation website. Using the search feature available on the website an additional search was carried out using similar search terms. The data titled Table 1 21: Period Sales, Market Shares, and Sales Weighted Fuel Economies of New Domestic and Imported Light Trucks (Thousands of vehicles) was downloaded and it contained sales, market share and fuel consumption information for a number of light trucks (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016). Using Excel, the original dataset was filtered in order to remove the small, medium, and large size pickup data and only leave data on SUVs. The main reason for this is that the study was interested in studying price, market share and consumption as factors that affect sales of SUVs in America. The dataset contains annual data from 1990 to 2012. It also contains data from 1980 and 1985 (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016). • 10. Epistemology Vs. Theory Of Knowledge Epistemology, technically speaking, covers one third of all philosophical enquiry, and it is the branch most concerned with faith. Epistemology, or the theory of knowledge, is always asking questions like, how do you know that, how do you know anything, what is knowledge, what signifies knowledge as fact as opposed to an opinion? How to you get to fact from opinion? I use epistemological questions to level the playing field across all my work. Here are some examples: In Broad Apologetic Theory When entering a new classroom I often get the students to describe their worldview. I do this by giving everyone a blank sheet of paper and asking a series of questions that determine what they know, what they think they know, what their priorities are, and what they truly care about deep down. These questions range from who is the most important person in the world to why are you here and each question is followed by an epistemological question such as how do you know that, why do you think that, or how can you be certain that s true? The result of this exercise is a wide variety of worldviews (or dare I say religions) that hinge on a varying degree of faith. Even those who thought that they had an incredibly naturalistic, empirical or scientific approach to life need to admit a large reliance of faith. In Specific Apologetic Questions When responding to specific questions about God s existence such as, how can you believe in a God when evil exists , or hasn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Rise Of Pollution Levels There I was in Shanghai, China, staring at the sun as if I were trying to look at a lamp behind a curtain. The rise of pollution levels in China has intrigued the minds of people who never even cared about the environment before. The People s Republic of China is now the largest emitter of CO2 in the world. But of course, this a global phenomenon: a global phenomenon that in no way started with China as Alanna Mitchell would agree to. By the end of the 19th century, the powerful duo that was industrialization and imperialism spread industrial growth from Great Britain to Southeast Asia. From the opium wars in the mid 19th century to the economic reforms of 1970s, China has been incorporated into the global economy as the world s manufacturer. And as we know, modern manufacturing is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. This has put an immense amount of international pressure on the Chinese to improve their environmental footprint. But sustainable development needs to start not just with China, but with all major players in the global economy. Mitchell s statement, the idea that the planet s future might come down to China s choices is hard for the West to fathom (102) is not only ironic, but a dangerous idea to accept. An historical context of China s industrialization and urbanization will show you that Western interests in China led to its massive carbon emission. Further, the root of the problem must be solved the way it started, with help from the West. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Construction Project Essay The design phase in the construction project life cycle is considered as a significant contributor to the project performance. Many researchers have considered this phenomenon as being dependent on the project success which comprises of quality, cost, time and sustainability. Nowadays, most of the construction projects must be delivered through the fast track, therefore it is difficult to co ordinate between the specialists and personnel as there is no accepted platform of good practice in managing the design process (Bibby, 2003). Although some technologies have been developed and applied in construction projects, the performance of the construction industry is still considered low (Sacks Goldin, 2007). (Aziz Hafez, 2013) argue that the current technologies can only improve the management of the construction process, however, in improving quality of the projects effectively, it does not reduce cost and time of design and construction. This is referred to as the traditional method that is still in place and currently being practiced in the industry. The objective of this work is to present the innovative design process in building construction projects where lean thinking (LT) is being considered for design process improvements. This research proposes a design process model that integrates LT into the traditional design process with activities which are able to eliminate wastes in the design process. We have hundreds of nuclear power plants worldwide, providing us with a lot of electricity. Also, many nations still have nuclear weapons. These weapons would cause horrifying damage and would emit a lot of radiation. Because of this threat, there is a lot of international politics involved. But first of all, you re probably wondering What is a nuclear bomb? . Nuclear fission bombs are bombs with the power up to 500 kilotons of TNT (For nuclear fission bombs created in the past). The bomb uses a process called nuclear fission. A neutron hits and splits in half a uranium 235 or plutonium 239. This releases heat, radiation, and more neutrons, which continues to split more atoms. This is a huge chain reaction, and eventually so many atoms are split apart so the heat level rises to very high temperatures. This causes the huge explosion. Although nuclear fission bombs are very powerful, there is an even more powerful type of bomb. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 20. Special Education Issues For Public Schools Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough money to fund the programs. I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early intervention services such as occupational therapy. After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right. I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McGill University, one of the biggest and highly ranked universities in Canada, consists of 11 facilities and has 39,988 students [1]. McGill University library system comprises 13 branch libraries, holding over 6 million items and providing great quiet study, group study rooms and computer for students and staff. However, most students have experienced difficulties in finding a seat for studying or group discussing in the library, especially during the exam period. Besides, although the library has clearly defined that students cannot occupy seats. But because of the lack of the alarm system, it is difficult to judge which one is free and which one is not, the problem of the low utilization ratio of seats is very serious. This leads to a serious waste of resource and so many students who loves to study cannot find seats in the library. In addition, students can be distracted from studying, by people who are walking around for finding a seat in the library. Besides, the ubiquity and popularity of smartphones among end users have increasingly drawn software developers attention over the last few years. • 24. Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway Walt Whitman s poem When I heard the Learn d Astronomer shows a moment which captures the beauty of self reliance and non conformity. In the poem, the speaker listens to a lecturer who speaks about astronomy through calculations and measurements. Being sick and tired of the lecture, the speaker wanders off outside to see the stars for himself and becomes struck in awe of the physical beauty of the stars. He also regains peace within himself after finding a new outlet for understanding. This idea of non conformity being a precursor to self actualization and inner peace similarly resonates in Virginia Woolf s novel Mrs. Dalloway. The portrayal Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith are both examples in the novel that show the negative consequences of conformity. In the beginning lines of the poem, the speaker begins to tell an anecdote about a time he heard a learn d astronomer . The man is perceived to be highly intelligent and specifically invested in the study of astronomy. However, Whitman contracts the word learned , presenting a plain voice that contrasts to the revered sophistication of the astronomer (Whitman 1). This ironic use of tone could be used in order to make fun of the astronomer, despite being a well educated man and a master of astronomy. Continuing on, the astronomer presents his mathematical proofs , ranged in columns by using figures and the charts and diagram (2 3). Grisham lets us see that high school football is a sport that the whole town of Messina was involved in. He also lets us see that the people of Messina not only loved high school football, but they had rituals they followed as well. Readers, who are unfamiliar with Southern high school football tradition, would question Grisham s depiction of Messina s rules. When describing an incident involving a Messina field keeper named Rabbit (43) and a speeding opposing player, known as Lightning Loyd (44), Grisham states that the score was tied late in the third quarter (44) when: to the horror (and delight) of ten thousand Messina faithful, Rabbit flung his bony and brittle body into the arena, and somewhere around the thirty five yard line, he collided with Lighting. There are no compelling results to prove or disprove that PowerPoint is more effective for learner retention than traditional presentation methods.[9] The effect on audiences of poor PowerPoint presentations has been described as PowerPoint hell. [edit]Criticism Although PowerPoint has the aforementioned benefits, some argue that PowerPoint has negatively impacted society. The terms Death by PowerPoint and PowerPoint Hell refer to the poor use of the software. Many large companies and branches of the government use PowerPoint as a way to brief employees on important issues that they must make decisions about. Opponents of PowerPoint argue that reducing complex issues to bulleted points is detrimental to the decision making process; in other words, because the amount of information in a presentation must be condensed, viewing a PowerPoint presentation does not give one enough detailed information to make a truly informed decision. A frequently cited example is Edward Tufte s analysis of PowerPoint slides prepared for briefing NASA officials concerning possible damage to the Space Shuttle Columbia during its final launch. [10] Tufte argues that the slides, prepared by the Boeing Corporation, had the effect of oversimplifying the situation, and provided false assurance that the ultimately fatal damage to the shuttle was only minimal. • 41. Too Much Punch For Judy Play Analysis The play that we read for this unit is Too Much Punch For Judy, by Mark Wheeller. It is a form of Verbatim Theatre, which means the play is based on the spoken words of real people. This play is about the story of a young woman who kills her sister in an alcohol related accident. When I first read the play I couldn t empathize with the story as I have never encountered such a shocking event in my life. In this essay I will describe, analyse and evaluate both my work and the work of other actors in my group, focusing on the mediums, elements and explorative strategies of Drama. In Hour One, we explored the play by using two explorative strategies, which are still image and thought tracking. Task One was to create four still images that showed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We were first tasked to create a sound piece in groups of 6 depicting what happened from when Jo and Judy left the bar up to the accident. There was a moment after the opening when Jo and Judy were reversing, an impression created through Actor 1 s beep sound effect. The beeping got faster continuously, and Actor 2 (Jo) shouted Judy slow down a bit! before they started to laugh. The beeping that gradually got faster suggested that the car was going to crash into something, before their laughter breaks the tension and gives the scene an anti climax. This suggests that they are in a drunken state, because people would not usually be laughing at the prospect of crashing their car. This also efficaciously foreshadows the tragic accident that occurs later. To further build up the tension, Actor 1 could have walked towards the audience as he performed the sound effect to suggest that the car was crashing into them. For Task Two we were required to add movement to the piece. A section near the end portrayed the accident as it happened. Actors 2 and 3(Judy) were sat on blocks behind two tables, symbolizing the front of the car. Actor 1 and I crouched on either side of the tables wearing white masks and right after Actor 3 shouted Judy slow down a bit! , we flipped the tables violently to the side and stood straight up. The purpose of the white mask was to hide our identity, creating a mysterious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Essay College Athletes Should Not Get Paid for Play The argument whether a student athlete should be paid to play or not be paid is one that spans the ages. College sports are considered to be of amateur status by the NCAA. Therefore they believe student athletes should not receive a pay check to participate in a sport. However on the other end of the spectrum, many critics believe that student athletes should receive pay for play because not only are they participating in a sport, they are entertaining the spectators. They believe that if performers in the entertainment industry are paid, why not pay the college athletes. Are student athletes considered student athletes or employees? The NCAA stands firm by the rules that student athletes are not employees, therefore should not be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Robert and Amy McCormick, law professors at Michigan State University, believe that some student athletes attend college to play sports and that due to scheduling conflicts between class and practices they do not have full choice as to what major they would like to take (Cooper, 12 13). The way football and basketball players in Division I programs manage juggling sport and school, the McCormicks maintain, undermines the NCAA s contention they are student athletes. (Cooper, 12 13). The NCAA believes that a student athlete is a student first and athlete second. Student athletes benefit more than from playing a sport that they love. The graduation rate is higher among the student athletes than the general student body. NCAA studies show that student athletes enjoy high levels of engagement in academics, athletics and community: have positive feeling about their overall athletics and academic experiences: attribute invaluable life skills to being a student athlete: and are more likely to earn similar or higher wages after college than non student athletes. The majority of student athletes attend college to receive an education. It is a bonus that they are allowed to play a sport that they love a few years longer, before they have to move on and enter the workforce in the field for which they studied for. • 45. The Life Of Margaret Sanger And Planned Motherhood Imagine finding yourself pregnant at the age of 30 with your ninth child. You live in a small apartment and you are unable to feed all of the members of your large family, also clueless as to how to prevent future pregnancies. This story would not be too far from reality for many women over a hundred years ago. It is also similar in ways to the life of Margaret Sanger, a women s rights activist who is responsible for the family planning movement that started birth control. Margaret Sanger s mother had 11 children and 18 pregnancies, that definitely took a destructive toll on her body, and she died at only 46 years old (Yasunari 2000). Margaret took notice of what happened to her mother and many other women, inspiring her to make it her life s work to help women have more control over their bodies and families. Margaret s work grew famous for the beginning of a birth control movement and the later creation of Planned Parenthood, but it also has a sometimes dark side of eugenics. She went to college to be a nurse and treated many women who continued to have children, even though they were wishing to prevent pregnancies. Margaret saw a correlation between impoverished struggling families and having a large number of children. Margaret referred to women being slaves to their bodies and involuntary motherhood, and also that by age 35, motherhood often exhausted women s bodies (Katzive 2015). She also probably noticed how desperate some women were to prevent pregnancies. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

HISTORY OF IMMIGRATION The United States of America has a rich immigration history, dating back to the 18th century, where there were virtually no immigration restrictions, making the U.S. a kaleidoscope of ethnic and cultural groups it is today. Following the Civil War, several U.S. states made initial attempts in regulating immigration, which led to the 1875 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court to make the immigration a federal responsibility, thus launching a chain of Immigration laws and regulations leading us to today. The first immigration law, the Page Act of 1875 (aka the Asian Exclusion Act) was passed in 1875 and prohibited the importation of Asian contract workers, any Asian women who would engage in prostitution and everybody who is considered to be a convict in their own county. The Page Act of 1875 was followed by the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act, which prohibited Chinese contract laborers to immigrate to the United States, as well as Alien Contract Labor laws of 1885 and 1887, both of which broadened the laborers exclusion list. Soon after, the increasingly complex immigration laws established by the federal government led to the creation of the Office of the Superintendent of Immigration within the Treasure Department. The newly organized government office inspected, admitted or rejected as well as processed all the newly arriving immigrants. Irony, diction, and syntax are clearly evident in this dramatic monologue. Throughout the poem the nameless monk is constantly expressing his anger and sarcasm through the use of syntactical irony. This particular monk is angered at a fellow monk, as evidenced by quot;If hate killed men, Brother Lawrence, God s blood, would not mine kill you! quot; which seems ironic knowing he is a religious monk. He is taking out his anger to a great extent, which is not good church practice. Obviously it seems that Brother Lawrence is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a monk, he plays the total opposite of an actual monk. He puts down the innocent Brother Lawrence, when he himself is the rotten one. Browning expresses certain words with diction. A monk does not watch girls wash their clothes and hair at the bank. Steeping tresses in the tank, Blue black, lustrous, think like horsehairs, the selfish monk does this, not the innocent Brother Lawrence. As a monk, one should not look upon women showering themselves and washing clothes. Being the opposite of a monk he also owns a dirty book, My Scrofulous French novel...If I double down its pages at the woeful sixteenth print, he also knows exact pages of the book to look at. Towards the end of the poem the monk plans to rid himself of his fellow Brother, by sending him to Hell. He speaks of slipping his French novel revealing quot;Belial s gripe, quot; Belial being one of the classical devils of Hell, the Lord of Lies. One may determine that the monk intends to present a false message to his Brother in order to damn his soul. It is clear that he is not following his title as a monk; he is a traitor to his own name. Throughout Browning s Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister , he exposes different devices used. Irony, diction, and syntax all play a major role in each stanza. By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was an attack that occurred in the midst of the Syrian civil war, a war between the government (led by President Bashar al Assad) and rebel civilians. The current civil war revolves around a conflict regarding the balance of power within the country, while an immense number of innocent civilians are being caught in the center of the violence and instability that the brutal war is causing. Over 4 million people have left the country as refugees, while others have been unable to escape the horrific violence (Robins Early 1). This brutal war has undoubtedly affected the lives of many Syrian citizens, and while the death toll continues to rise, the lives of Syrian children are being affected the most, as they are most vulnerable to the damage. Anthony Lake, the executive director of the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF), says that Never in recent memory have so many children been subjected to such unspeakable brutality (Omer 1). While many children are being affected by crises around the world, UNICEF s executive director believes that this war that has been going on for half a decade is what has been most cruel towards children because of the violent nature of the war that takes place amongst them. Wynn Flaten, the director of World Vision s Syria Crisis Regional Response team, says that refugee children need special protection. They need to get into schools. Even when they can get in, often the classrooms are overflowing with extra students, or they are bullied to such an extent that they no longer even want to go (Omer 2).
