Range Finders Research Paper
How to Choose the Best Rangefinder for Hunting
Range Finders are a great modern devices for measuring the distance between an observer and his
target. The machine offers several capabilities including navigation, precisionary aiming, golfing and
surveying as well as photography. The most commonly used devices today include hunting
rangefinder, Bushnell rangefinder, golf laser and golf rangefinders. Laser rangefinders which can be
used for both golfing and hunting typically cost more money. Always check to see if you have all the
appropriate features and menu options. The device is also slowing replacing the traditional riflescopes
and binocular due to it s due to its versatility and high adaptability. Some range finders are fitted with
built in cameras to provide more accurate reading when it comes to measuring distance and taking
photos. These capabilities all work together to m help the user make more informed decisions which
in turn produces more favorable results with little guesswork. Most of the devices in use today come
with advanced features such as distance reading, waterproof resistance and different modes ... Show

Some of the things you need to consider when selecting a good hunting device include; price and
quality, angle compensation, simplicity, maximum range, and overall size.
1. Price and quality it is important to note some of the best finders in the market are also some of the
most expensive. In essence you simply get what you pay because quality and price go hand in hand.
When choosing you device it is important to go for the best range finder that you can buy. This will
eliminate regrets and boost your confidence when using the device.
2. Size range finders come in all sizes and designs, since there is a lot more gear that you need to put
on carry, it would be much easier to find a device that is easy to carry in your pocket or hold in your

EXAMINING NATIONAL IDENTITY
Research Question:
How do sociological and psychological needs affect form, national identity, and concept in the
contemporary world? What is the importance of cultural identity? And why is it important? These are
a few question I would answer in the following study. The objective is to understand the early or
modern concepts representing cultural or national uniqueness. This research proposes, the designs and
concepts to be crafted more than being engineered (Norman D, 1990), so that every culture is unique
in itself, and analysing Australian national identity in connection with globalization, culture, art, and
society. Examining greek culture in the previous assignment made us familiar with the concept and
will also help to analyze the Australian National identity.

U.s. Government s Department Of Defense
Organizational Management Approach
Introduction
The U.S. Government s Department of Defense (DoD) is a very large organization with many leaders
at various levels. From a macro level or overarching perspective the DoD is very hierarchal and
bureaucratic. Then, from a micro level perspective, there are leaders within the DoD who practice
more lateral or flat approaches to leadership. Furthermore, the DoD has both a military side where
leadership is hierarchal as well as transactional, as well as a civilian side which is much more
transformational. These varying leadership approaches within the DoD s macro level, micro level,
military, and civilian structure are all very appropriate and effective leadership approaches for this
large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These missions and goals rarely change. However, these higher level leaders, consisting of military
general officers, each have their own methods and styles of leading in terms of how they will
accomplish their defined mission and goals. These general officers direct both high ranking military
officers and civilian directorates who carry out the missions and goals set forth by their high
authorities. The macro level structure more authoritative, where direction is provided without
consulting lower levels input. Furthermore, there are specific rules and regulations and a clear division
of labor within the Government bureaucracy (Schoology, 2017). The Government s bureaucratic,
hierarchal, and authoritarian approach is very similar to Max Weber s classical organization theory as
he viewed it from a macro perspective (Onday, 2016). Conversely, the Government is very different
from a micro level perspective.
Micro Level Contingency and Lateral Approaches The micro level, below the military and civilian
directorates, the leadership is less authoritative, this is particularly true on the civilian side. The
civilian side of Government follows more of neo classical management theory, focused more on
culture and performance (Schoology, 2017). However, the military side continues to maintain a
relatively strong authoritative leadership approach down to the lowest level, due to the nature of how
they carry out their defined mission and goals. For

Persuasive Essay On Gun Rights
The issue of gun rights has been a popular debate in the United States of America. The side opposing
the rights to own certain guns have been frantically trying to convince others to join them in the fight.
Like most advertisements, the ads concerning the issue of gun rights have to be provocative and eye
catching. The Moms Demand Action for Gun Safety in America society created an advertisement
around 2013 to persuade Americans to support the ban of assault weapons in America. The
advertisement got the point across about the danger of not banned assault weapons compared to a
relatively harmless banned children s book, but fell short with the lettering, resulting in the lack of
explanation for the ad. The image contains two elementary age girls sitting on the ground facing the
camera. These two girls are different races. The African American girl holds a copy of Little Riding
Hood in her hands facing the camera. The Caucasian girl is holding a massive assault gun that appears
to be almost as big as she is. These two girls are sitting cross legged on the ground in a typical
elementary school library. The library has an American flag tucked in the corner. The wording One
child is holding something that has been banned in America to protect them. is in white in the middle
on top of the image. Underneath the white wording lies Guess which one is in red. The sponsor s logo
is in the right corner. There is small, white print located at the very bottom of the ad. The print

Country As A Developing Country
Honestly, one would think that in todays modern world every country should be developed. However,
few realize that there are still many developing countries. Mostly due to ignorance, and the majority
doesn t pay attention to the needs of developing countries. For instance, the only time a person may
think of a developing country is when the see the commercials on television, and believes that this
must be the only issues facing developing countries. Normally, people visualize those commercials
asking for money to feed, or asking for help of some type of medical expenses. Take the United States
as an example, and often this country would release funds to foreign aid before their own citizens.
Which could easily cause tension amongst the government and the American people. According to,
SAE there are about 137 developing countries, and countries that earns on average 11,905 or less are a
developing country. There are many different choices when comes to picking a developing country.
However, the country of Sierra Leone will be the country up for discussion. Sierra Leone is one
example of what the World Bank considers to be a developing country, and it is in West Africa. As
well as, the capital, Freetown, was founded as a home for reported former slaves. Currently, Sierra
Leone has a population of about 6.1 million citizens, and on average the life span expectancy is 48
years old male, and 49 years old female. However, this country s most brutal civil war ended in 2002,

Planning Strategic Organisational Change Assignment
Planning Strategic Organisational Change Assignment
For this assignment I will be looking at the recent organisational restructure which took place in our
work place. Having a background in senior management for over 20 years I have always viewed this
sector with continual improvement as a key to stay one step ahead and in the words of Isaac Asimov
The only constant is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in
society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the
world as it is, but the world as it will be.

The co ordinator can put into action skills they have learnt and are trained for rather than delivering
direct support and the pool of support workers also gain much needed additional backup support for

Like any objective we looked at a SMART approach, (the first know use of this term being in the
November 1981 issue of Management Review by George T. Doran) first we knew what and why we
wanted to change, all steps could be measured, the plan was realistic and we had a definitive
timescale.
The basic approach was:
Specific The change from team leader to service co ordinator, reduction in staff, realignment of middle
management structure. A detailed plan of action was produced and approved befor being put into
action
Measurable Not only by way of stipulating the numbers of staff affected but as an improvement of the
service after the process is complete. By defining new job descriptions we set in initial targets for staff
to achieve.
Achievable Ensuring that there are no blocks in the way to carry out the proposed restructure. By
keeping all of those involved in the process informed and on our side we were able to guarantee the
process reaching its proposed end.
Realsitic We would look at whether this was just a quick fix or a genuine approach to improving staff

Camp Manitowa Description
Have you ever been to a camp that did not even have a roof to cover people from the rain? The camp
had an unbelievably large amount of people, especially friends, it had two different cabins, five of the
boys and five for the girls. The camp had a sparkling blue pool and a vast lake that countless children
and families enjoyed swimming in. At nighttime there would be mysterious tag games in the dark.
After the games concluded the campers were given the freedom to talk and tell stories. The camp lasts
a total of at least 7 long days and tons of people would probably want to come back for a second visit.
The name of the camp is Camp Manitowa which is located in Benton, Illinois. Nevertheless, this

Manitowa is a popular place to go to in Benton, Illinois and you will enjoy the things that are there
with other people and maybe even your friends if you are somehow lucky enough.
Fourth, the things at Camp Manitowa were at an extremely high level because of the people and the
pool/lake that were close by it. The extraordinary lake was exciting because it had interesting fish
inside of it such as bass, minnows, bluegill, and stripers. The glistening clean pool was fabulous
because people would play games such as Marco Polo, catch, and other unique games. The people

The Consequences Of Improper Hygiene And Social Safety
Many people don t understand the consequences of improper hygiene. However, they also don t
understand the benefits of correct hygiene. This results in being unclean and unsanitary, which can
lead to issues in the professional world, a person s overall health, and their social life. Proper hygiene
leads to a better chance of getting a job, overall body health, and it improves self esteem and social
acceptance.
Has anyone ever imagined a device that can improve their hygiene without them needing to do any
work? Well, they need to stop imagining, because this device will soon become a reality. The Refresh
Ride is a car with the technology to clean people s body with only the click of a button! This
developing technology allows users to do extreme multitasking. The Refresh Ride is a car with a
device inside that cleans the user s body for them, combining hygiene and travel into one!
The device inside of the Refresh Ride cleans the user s body for them. It is like a shower, without the
hassle and time consuming effort. When the user gets into the car, they can choose any seat. The
device will come to the seat they have chosen and ask them to select where they are going. It will then
determine the level of hygiene for the place they are going. For example, if they are going to a job
interview, the device will make sure they are well groomed and professional looking. Proper grooming
and professional appearance are important to gain not just positive impression but also

Summary Of The Lobster By David Foster Wallace
Throughout Consider the Lobster, an article written by David Foster Wallace about the 2004 Maine
Lobster Festival, Wallace demonstrates that not all of his writing is clear and concise. The author does
this through his various viewpoints in the article, which allow him to capture the reader s attention. A
particular sentence that captures the initiation of Wallace s writing is, The suppers come in styrofoam
trays, and the soft drinks are iceless and flat, and the coffee is convenience store coffee in more
styrofoam, and the utensils are plastic (there are none of the special long skinny forks for pushing out
the tail meat.) (Pg. 239). Within this sentence, Wallace describes the many parts of the festival and
how they show the not so good side of the festival. Between the cheap styrofoam trays and the flat
drinks, the festival gives off a poor vibe to the reader. Wallace s use of changing viewpoints adds to
what he originally wants to do, which is to be able to give the reader a chance to pick which side of
the argument they want to be on. The author not only gives the reader different views, but he also
changes up his tone. By adding dynamic shifts in his writing, he includes the reader and gives better
feel for what this article is really about. This gives the reader a feel of what Wallace really is thinking.
This sentence stands out due to the fact that Wallace talks about the positive aspects of what occurs
during the festival throughout the beginning of the article.

Relics Of Buddhism And Buddhism
Relics are thought to be present in Buddhism since the 5th Century B.C.E, when the original Buddha,
Siddhartha Gautama, was said to have lived, and Buddhism itself was a new religion. They continue
today as sacred objects of worship. Relics that are as old as Buddhism itself are said to exist and still
be worshipped. Although the idea of relics may seem contradictory to many of Buddhist beliefs, they
actually do resonate with many ideals of Buddhist teachings and practices. To see whether relics pose
a contradiction between doctrine and practice, we first need to see exactly what relics in Buddhism
are. The word relic itself has many meanings including something left behind , the body or bodily
frame , constituent element or essential ingredient and many more interpretations. In Buddhism, relics
are body parts and/or any physical remains of a highly regarded Buddha or monk. They are held in
stupas, constructed dome shaped structures, associated with Buddhas or other powerful beings. Relics
are worshiped just as sacred objects and other things in a temple would be. A large appeal of relics is
that they are portable and are an easy way to closer with the Buddha itself. When relics are present the
Buddha is present, quoted Schopen, describing just how connected relics are believed to be to these
powerful beings. Relics are, therefore, an important aspect of worship and relation to the Buddha in
this religion. How then could they be contradictory to the doctrine of

The David Story, And The Iliad
In the books The David Story, and The Iliad the overall stories show us that history has evolved. In
which case, we read the differences between the human relationships toward their god(s). In The
David Story, David turns to Yahweh for advice, reassurance, and in some instances, a second opinion,
whereas in The Iliad, Achilles is overseen by the god of wisdom and military victory, Athena. The
relationships between the humans and their god have similarities but are also significantly different.
The Iliad takes place in a city, Troy, which is in modern day Turkey. Achilles a great warrior of Greek
mythology participated in the Trojan War, on which Homer s epic poem, The Iliad is based. Achilles
was the son of Thetis and Peleus, king of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Achilles had been struck down and needed the courage to go and fight. Athena is in favor of the
Greeks because she saw a part of herself in Achilles, and frankly because she hated the Trojans.
Fate bound the gods in Book 22 lines 190 209. As Achilles was face to face with Hector, Zeus showed
pity for Hector. In this scene, Zeus knew that Hector was destined to die. Zeus wanted to save Hector,
but was persuaded by Athena that it was Hector s time. Athena argued with him that if he would step
in and save Hector that many other gods would be upset with his actions. Not only would the gods be
angry, but death was Hector s fate, and the gods were bound to it. This is an example of how fate
outweighed what the gods wanted to happen. Zeus was wrestling with the thought of saving Hector or
allowing Hector to meet his fate.
Achilles and Athena s relationship seemed to be superficial. Although Athena seemed to care for
Achilles, her motive came from viewing parts of herself within him. The gods seemed to intervene
when the scene looked as if it needed a bit of excitement. For example, in Book 22, Hector was being
chased along the city wall by Achilles. Athena presented herself in the image of Hector s brother,
Deïphobus, to persuade Hector to stop running and fight with Achilles.
In The David Story, the largest portion of the story, takes place in Jerusalem. David was a great
warrior of the Hebrew era. He was famously known for killing the Philistine giant, Goliath. He

Armor is any covering worn as defense against weapons. (Dictionary.com) During the Medieval era,

Italian Art Research Paper
Art is defined as something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that
expresses important ideas or feelings. (Merriam Webster) Since the beginning of time, art has been a
regular part of life. Art is all around us every day, and sometimes, we don t notice or care where these
paintings, sculptures, or even photographs stemmed from. Since the beginning of time, art has been a
regular part of life. Over time, expressional art was categorized in a wide variety of ways, from the
Middle Ages, to the more cutting edge and modern distinction. The history of art was initially founded

Artistic styles have many impacts, however, the most prolific impacts originate from the newly
formed religious Orders coming to light in Italy during the 1200s and 1300s. Because of these new
religious orders, two notorious art styles merged together to make a necessary change. Dominican and
Franciscan styles merge together with the Byzantine art styles to form a completely new format. While
Western Christendom fell into the cultural abyss of the barbarian Dark Ages, its religious, secular and
artistic values were maintained by its new Eastern capital in Byzantium (later renamed Constantinople
after Constantine). Along with the transfer of Imperial authority to Byzantium went thousands of
Roman and Greek painters and craftsmen, who proceeded to create a new set of Eastern Christian

Beaten by a Hair
Introduction
The case I chose to write on is based on a DVD that we watched in class called Beaten by a hair . In
this case, a woman was reported missing after she went to work and never returned home. After the
police discovered a bloody pillow case in the woods, near her house, they linked it to the missing
pillow case in the woman s room, and then realized that they had a murder case on their hands. A
mystery in the case was that one of the local neighbors had mentioned seeing the woman leave
through the front door of her house but the evidence says different, so investigators had to find out
who left the house that morning. I am interested in this case because it was very intriguing how the

294). This means even after a week the blood has been cleaned up, luminol can still detect it. Also
after applying luminol, the area needs to be darkened so that blue glow can be emitted. The iron from
the hemoglobin in the blood causes luminol to glow, so a blue glow is produced when the solution is
sprayed where there is blood. Only a tiny amount of iron is required to catalyze the reaction
(Helmenstine, 2012). The use of luminol revealed that there were blood stains on the bed sheets and
suspected that the woman was killed in her bedroom and that she did not go to work that day or leave
the house.
Upon further analysis of the woman s bedroom, the forensic officers used a chemical called amido
black. Amido black is a protein dye that is sensitive to the protein in blood and when it makes contact
stains a latent blue black colour. It is used for revealing fingerprints, trace evidence, and fibers that
may be in the crime scene. This technique was not useful for the officers because they could not find
any prints or evidence. The forensic officers also performed an ultraviolet light test which was used to
reveal trace evidence such as vaginal fluid, urine, semen, or saliva. The ultraviolet test is usually done
before using chemicals such as luminol to see if there are any fibers to be found and used first.
However the officers were not able to find anything, but this method was useful to them because they
could not find any evidence to prove that

Imagery, Diction, And Tone Of Roethke s Root Cellar
A Plant s Bacchanalia:
Imagery, Diction, and Tone in Roethke s Root Cellar
How can an atmosphere be so unbearable and cold, but evidently full of life and constant growth? Set
in an old, decaying basement, Theodore Roethke addresses this in the poem Root Cellar. Life is
clinging to and climbing over the dirty, damp, and dark possessions of the cellar. Why is it possible
that so much life is present in such a place of shadows? In Root Cellar , Roethke uses imagery,
diction, and tone to display that is possible for life to overcome unbearable circumstances suggesting
that nature is a truly dominant and powerful force.
First, Roethke uses a variety of natural imagery to illustrate the poor conditions of the root cellar. The
imagery is extremely concrete, which is illustrated through the use of sensory language. By being
inside the cellar, multiple senses are engaged, which ranges from smells, sights, and surfaces to touch.
Roethke writes that there were a congress of stinks (6) and then proceeds to explain them as roots ripe
as old bait (7) and leaf mold, manure, lime (9); the sensory imagery here reveals that the root cellar is
not only unpleasant to the eye, but the nose as well. Additionally, sensory imagery, such as the phrase
slippery planks (9) reveals that one might not want to get too close to the scene. However poor the
sensory experience may be for a human, life is persisting for the plants regardless. The plants are able
to strive and continue to grow

Too Much Crying isn t a Good Thing
Crying is undoubtedly one of the most common humanistic features when it comes to the emotions of
the average person, due to the fact that every human being has shed tears for which ever reasons their
emotions led them to. However, crying can also be the result of many other issues and can indicate a
serious problem if done continuously and drastically to the point where it becomes a serious concern.
In adolescents, it is more normal to cry as the child may not understand or know what to do about a
situation, leaving them flustered, agitated, sad, angry, or any negative emotion causing them to cry.
With these things being said, when crying is understood to be the result of an underlying deep rooted
issue, the next step is to understand the enforcer that is keeping the behavior of crying continuous and
figure out exactly how to decrease it to the point of normality. Crying has also yet to be examined
systematically in isolation from other problem behavior, such as aggression or tantrums, during
functional analyses (Hanley, Iwata, McCord, 2003). Identification of variables that may maintain
crying is especially important for populations who are susceptible to psychiatric interventions (e.g.,
individuals who have intellectual disabilities and communication deficits). The current study extended
functional analysis methodology to crying with an adolescent boy who had been diagnosed with
intellectual disabilities. Results suggested that crying was maintained by caregiver

The Dual Diagnosis Service Users Essay
Methodology
This section will provide the rationale of the methods employed and highlight how the study will be
performed. The study will examine the dual diagnosis service users with the sample size identified,
data collection method and its analysis will be offered.
Research Approach
This study draws on an array of evidence based literature to promote positive behaviour amongst dual
diagnosis service users. An examination of the research literature was used to inform the design of the
study and the research questions. The research approach influences the study s entire formation and its
outcome will be dependent on the approach used (Silva et al, 2015). The research purpose is to
formulate a research question and follow a plan to adequately answer it (Maltby et al, 2014). A
selected research approach depends on the question being examined, Parahoo (2014). Within research,
there exist three identified approaches namely qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.
This study will utilise a qualitative approach to obtain dual diagnosis service users perspective on
minimising violent and aggressive behaviour. I will use focus groups to collect data from the patients
and interview staff using semi structured questionnaires. This will permit me to examine the
perspectives and experiences of dual diagnosis service users and staff as argued by Newell and

Vertical initiatives can lead to dependent systems. As described by lecture 4 from week 5, vertical
programs can result in the tail wagging the dog syndrome, in which the organization or health system
becomes dependent on these external resources and must respond to specific initiatives of interest to
their donors, and not on those programs and services which the organization wants to implement In
contrast horizontal initiatives commonly have as an objective to create sustainable systems . Based on
these statements, it would easy to just assume that the best way to build sustainable systems is through
horizontal initiatives since it is an integrated management of multiple determinants of health and
focuses on the use of local staff, facilities,

Social Justice And Government By Karl Marx
Social Justice and Government
The view of social justice in today s society may be different depending on who you are, what religion
you come from, or even the culture in which you were raised. According to the Catholic Church and
its social teachings, the view of social justice is talked about in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
It is viewed as the condition that allows individuals and associations to gain what is their due,
according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church s stance on social justice. Since individuals are
already created equally through God, therefore the perfect form of social justice is an environment
where the individual is able to reach their full human potential. The Industrial Revolution that started
in the 1780 s in Great Britain had many effects, but they were not fully felt until the 1830 s or 1840 s.
The works done by Karl Marx talks about how the classless system was not the ideal form of
government in Europe. Karl Marx formed and developed the modern day popular form of social
justice known as Marxism or socialism. Marx s problem with the struggles of social justice and
society during his time era were that he could not accept the form of politics such as the classless
system at that time and on the rebound he introduced his idealism. Marx also unified the theory of
social justice with the practical beliefs that human activity is key. Marx s approach to social justice is
based on human relations as free from exploitation,

Plato s Classical Athenian Architecture, Drama, And Arts
Plato
Plato was born around 428 B.C., Both of Plato s parents were from distinguished aristocratic families.
Besides being born into an illustrious family, Plato was born into an illustrious city. He was born in
the wake of Athens s Golden Age, the period that had witnessed Athens s the beginning of the
strongest Greek power, the birth of classical Athenian architecture, drama, and arts. His father Ariston
died when he was a child. His mother Perictione remarried the politician Pyrilampes. He was educated
in philosophy, poetry and gymnastics by distinguished Athenian teachers including the philosopher
Cratylus.
It was also at an early age, probably in adolescence, that Plato began to hear Socrates, who engaged a

Plato what is at stake is a clash between what we might call comprehensive world views; it seems that
matters of grave importance in ethics, politics, metaphysics, theology, and e are at stake. Plato agrees
that Homer is indeed the educator of Greece, and immediately adds that Homer is the most poetic and
first of the tragic poets. Plato is setting himself against what he takes to be the entire outlook in
contemporary. Since Homer shaped the popular culture of the times, Plato is setting himself against
popular culture as he knew it. Plato has in his sights all of poetry, contending that its influence is
pervasive and often harmful, and that its insite about nature and the divine are mistaken.
It is not easy to understand what Plato means by poetry, whether it is dangerous because of its form or
content or both. These questions are complicated by the fact that Plato was not thinking of poetry as a
written text read in silence; he had in mind performances, often experienced in theater. When Socrates
and Plato conducted their inquiries, poetry was far more influential than what Plato calls philosophy.
Few people today would imagine that there is any interesting relation between poetry and rhetoric. To
think of great poets as rhetoricians seems weird, and most rhetoricians do not seem to know the first
thing about poetry. Yet Plato himself associates the two very closely: at Gorgias he characterizes

Evolution Of The Traditional Family In The 1950 s
Emily Hodack
Soc 100
3/14/17
Discussion 9 Nuclear family is defined as familial form consisting of a father, a mother, and their
children (Conley, 2015, p. 453). This type of family was considered the traditional family in American
society in the 1950s. The traditional family was when the man worked outside the home and the wife
stayed at home and tended to the home and children. Also the idea of the traditional family has
changed, especially with the rate of divorce and single parents increasing. The divorce rate has been
steadily rising since the nineteenth century, as divorce became less and less of a social and religious
taboo (Conley, 2015, p. 456).
Now in the U.S. there are different types of families such as blended, where

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Many people in today s society tend to only listen to the beat of the song rather than the meaning, and
vise versa. They either like the lyrics or like the beat and do not fully understand the meaning. For
example, Foster the People s Pumped Up Kicks is a very catchy song with a good chorus but the
meaning is misconstrued. The meaning and the musicality is not intertwined. It is a song about a a
disturbed kid going on a killing spree. Unlike Foster the People, people adore Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow, a nineteenth century poet, not because he had a good rhythm, but because he intertwines
musicality and imagery. He merges sight and sound to establish a cinematic orchestra and paints a
vivid image full of depth and personality. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow incorporates religion through
the influence of nature and the strong presence of musicality in The Cross of Snow , My Lost Youth ,
Autumn and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls . Many of Longfellow s influences on his works have
sprouted from his early life experiences. Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine to Stephen
Longfellow and Zilpah Longfellow. As a child Longfellow was known for his vivid imagination. Little
did he know that his childhood experiences sparked many of ideas for his future works. Stephen
Longfellow was a leading Portland lawyer who wished to start Longfellow s education early. Thus,
Longfellow began schooling at the age of three and attended college at fourteen. Gartner states that

Persuasive Essay About Soccer
Soccer, also known as football is a sport played by millions all around the world. This is not only a
sport, but an activity available to anyone that offers valuable life lessons to those who play. Lessons
and skills such as leadership and teamwork, determination, and friendships are a few that I have gotten
out of playing soccer. Many people view soccer as a waste of two and a half hours because the game
becomes repetitive and predictable. The start off of the game is as follows, one team starts with
possession of the ball with the intention is to score a goal, while keeping it away from the other team
and vice versa. Watching the sport may seem boring to those who do not play because they don t
understand it. People who don t play soccer do not realize the amount of time and effort it takes to
excel in this sport, which comes down to the time spent practicing and conditioning. The more hours
spent on footwork and physical conditioning, the better you become. This sport can be extremely
physical, but it is also a mental game. It is important to be in the right mental state during a game
because distraction in the head leads to mistakes on the field. A strong mental state is extremely
important in soccer, as well as every day. The ability to multitask proves to be an advantage in the
game; when a player has the ball, they need to continue to move, look for open teammates on the
field, and maneuver around the opposing team simultaneously. People who understand this sport can

What Sparked Wachowski s Knowledge In The Film
The aforementioned question was raised during the film when Morpheus asked Neo an important
question, although basic in comparison to the plot of the film. Morpheus simply asked Neo, This is
your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill the story ends, you wake up
in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill you stay in Wonderland
and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes . I think the idea of knowledge being a truly powerful
force is what sparked Wachowski s imagination, and because of this, was the idea for the film. The
concept of knowledge (or lack of it), was demonstrated through the constant twists and turns
throughout the film. In dystopian environments, knowledge is a limited resource ... Show more

When Neo escaped from the Matrix, he joined up with Morpheus and a few others, with the eventual
goal of bringing down the Matrix and releasing everybody being kept prisoner by it. This shows the
power those who are oppressed can have when they gain knowledge they are not supposed to have,
and this is an issue explored in dystopian worlds. Neo took the red pill, a decision I too would have
made. This revealed to us Neo s thirst for knowledge and to what extent he was willing to go to gain
information. In my opinion Neo made the correct decision in selecting the red pill. I feel that someone
who strives for perfection, and somebody who strives to always do better should have the same thirst
for knowledge that Neo had. When the question was initially asked of Neo, I did not see how he could
turn it down; being given the chance to learn one of the biggest secrets on your planet, to me, was too
good an opportunity to turn down. As a consequence of this it did not shock me when Neo decided to

Evolution Of Flight Research Paper
Flight is a very complex function, and in order to develop into what we know now as birds, there are
several major evolutionary changes that needed to develop to maturity. In order for fly, the skeletal
structure, musculature, respiratory system, circulatory systems, and feathers must all be adapted to
allow for an organism to take flight. Many scientists have proposed theories about the origin of flight,
but the Arboreal and Cursorial theories have emerged as the strongest cases. Arboreal theories are
based around the idea that the organisms climbing into trees jump out of those trees and glide down,
eventually adapted to flap to increase drag. This theory is based in the skeletal similarities of gliding
animals to those of birds.1 This tree hopping evolution hypothesis is supported by Archaeopteryx, one
of the prime examples of a transitional animal for flight. Archaeopteryx presents with long unfused
claws that are adaptations for climbing and grasping.3 In addition, there are also presence of a furcula,

Essay On The Lost Colony Of Roanoke
The lost colony of Roanoke is a controversial topic because no one is sure about what happened to the
colony. The lost colony was a colony founded by Walter Raleigh established in 1585 on Roanoke
Island which is now North Carolina. The colony disappeared without a trace sometime between 1587
and 1590. There are many theories about what happened to the colony but there is no conclusive
answer. The lost colony of Roanoke is one of the biggest and oldest American mysteries because of
the uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of its disappearance. On the 25th of March, 1584 a
charter was issued to Walter Raleigh from Queen Elizabeth I. The charter issued stated that Raleigh
was to discover, search, finde out, and view such remote, heathen and barbarous lands, countries, and

were two men that had the surname Kendall that were apart of the attempts at colonizing Roanoke.

Organ Donations Philosophy Paper
Phil 2300 301 13 April 2010 [Title] Is it time for our society to reconsider the prohibitive laws that
make it legally impossible to establish licit markets for bodily organs? So many people are unable to
obtain organs they need due to the lack of availability. Increased medical advances have created the
need for many more organs than are available (Staff). A commercial market may or may not solve the
problem. There is a lack of commitment when it comes to donating organs which could be from fear.
Potential donors fear medical personnel will not make every attempt possible to save their lives if they
know they are donors. Little do they know, their organs will be available to save 50 more lives in the

One example of this situation is the following incident: In 2001, Brian Lykins, 23, of Minnesota, died
because a small piece of cadaver material used to repair his knee was contaminated with bacteria
(Armour). There is also the possibility of the recipient becoming seriously infected due to unsanitary
handling during the dismemberment process. Whereas done in a legally regulated environment, this
process can be done in a sterile operating room decreasing the risk of infection (Armour). There is
legislation and laws in place to avoid these incidents; however those who deal in the black market
normally are not law abiding individuals concerned with these regulations. There are 3 proposed
solutions to the problem. An organ market, a presumed consent program and a required request
program (The Legal Dictionary). The organ market idea would be a system where living donors would
sign a contract while they are still alive. This contract means a fixed amount would be decided for the
donation . This would allow for the donors organs to be removed upon their death. This could be done
with a cash payment or a tax credit prior to death. Benefits to this would mean a greater availability of
organs. It could also drive the cost of operations down due to the number of transplants that are
performed enabling staff to become more proficient and operations more affordable. It would also

Peaceful And Nonviolent Resistance
While peaceful and nonviolent approaches are effective when it comes to changing social attitudes and
initiating social revolutions, these approaches do not always guarantee peaceful change. The methods
of peaceful resistance articulated by Ghandi and MLK, only work within the context of democratic
states with some form of established civil society. Nonviolent resistance in authoritarian dictatorships,
on the other hand, does not guarantee change for the oppressed population, as this population is
entirely at the mercy of the established order which typically views any opposition as a threat to their
power and survival. Long term institutionalized oppression requires escalation from the dominant
authority before nonviolent resistance can become viable option. Within democratic societies, violent
resistance can often be directly linked to some form of state sanctioned violence. However, in these
cases, non violent resistance offers a much better alternative because the state is more responsive to
peaceful tactics. When established regime s chose violence as a response to non violent resistance, we
see an escalation of violence. This is best exemplified by Syria s peaceful Arab Spring protests, which
quickly escalated into a bloody civil war because of the Assad regime s decision to violently
crackdown on peaceful protests. King writes that privileged groups rarely give up their privileges
without strong resistance. But when oppressed people rise up against oppression there

Aboriginal Customary Laws and Australian Contemporary Laws
Aboriginal customary laws, before white settlement in 1788, were considered primitive by the British,
if considered at all. But Aboriginal laws and customs had lasted hundreds of years, based on traditions
such as kinship ties and rituals.
These laws were formed by ancestors, spirits, and Aboriginal beliefs, and were passed down the
generations by word of mouth instead of written down. Being over 500 tribes (each with it s own
clans) in Australia at one point, there were many variations to their guidelines, customised to each area
of the land. Although the laws varied throughout the ages, this way of life remained until white
settlement.

Australian laws have two forms, public and private law. Public law is an individual versus the
Australian government, for example, criminal law, constitutional law and environmental law. It
involves public bodies, public matters and is the concern of everybody in Australia. Private law
involves disputes between private citizens or entities, for example, contract law, family law and
probate laws.
Traditional Aboriginal marriages were very different to English marriages and Australian marital laws
today. Aboriginal girls were to be married when they reached puberty, and were married to much older
men, who could marry (and have numerous wives) once a certain age. This meant that sex at a young
age was acceptable.
Australian law states that no person can legally marry until the age of 18, or have sex until the age of
16, and it is socially unacceptable for people to have numerous partners. Australian law declares under
age sex as child abuse and a criminal offence.
All Aboriginals were involved in their customs and laws, with rules being imposed by the
communities. Each clan was tight knit and respected their ancestry and customs.
Punishments varied, depending on the severity of the crime committed. Types of punishment included

Passion gives you a goal or a dream to chase after too. Another quote I hear pretty often is Have
Outstanding Passion Every Day! CollegeTrack. We strive with outstanding passion in whatever we do,
whether is completing a homework assignment, doing a sport, club activities, and just in life in
general. Having this passion gives you something to look forward to every day instead of mindlessly
getting up to go to school or work to do the same generic tasks everyday. Everyday is a new day,
which means there are new challenges, by having a passion it gives you the motivation, the excitement
to conquer new challenges. Think of it as Candy Crush, you worked on a single level for days and you
finally passed that level, the sense of accomplishment encourages you to pass the next level and so
forth. The kind of people with the most amount of passion are CEO and entrepreneurs because they
get to enjoy their creations in their business every day, solve a new problem in their business or create
another branch of their franchise. For example, Bart Kwan and Joe Jo of JustKiddingFilms, who are
very passionate about film and comedy, combined their two interests and created a YouTube franchise
where they dedicate themselves to making comedic videos. Another example would be myself. I am
very passionate about happiness, wary of others feelings, tend to know when one is happy or sad, and

Proximal tubular secretion:
The drug that do not enter the glomerular filtrate leaves the glomeruli though efferent arterioles. The
arterioles divide to form a capillary plexus surrounding the nephric lumen in the proximal tubule. The
occurrence of secretions mainly occurs in the proximal tubule. This happens by active transport, one
for anions and one for cations. Active transport requires energy. The two systems have low specificity
and can transport many compounds. [2]
Distal tubular reabsorption:
The concentration of the drug will exceed that of the perivascular space due to the increase in
concentration as the drug moves toward the distal convoluted tubule. The drug may diffuse back into
the circulation if it is uncharged. In attempt to minimize the diffusing back into circulation, the pH of
the urine may be manipulated to increase the ionised from of the drug. [2]
Below is a diagram to show renal elimination.

People with kidney problems/disease must have the dosage of drugs administered adjusted as they
have a lower glomerular filtration rate than those without kidney problems/disease. People with renal
dysfunction and those on dialysis are often given opioids for pain relief. Adjusting the dosage for a

The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay

Tragic hero
Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis. His
father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the
rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesar s
mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s being
only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted him in
about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus before he
reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC, Brutus revived his
adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide, Gaius Servilius Ahala,
from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his political career started
when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus. During this time, he enriched
himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also active in the province of Cilicia, in
the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents how Brutus profited from
moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. He returned to Rome a rich man, where he married
Claudia Pulchra. From his first appearance in the Senate, Brutus aligned with the Optimates (the
conservative faction) against the First Triumvirate

NOVEL STUDY (GRACELING, BY KRISTIN CASHORE)
NOVEL STUDY.
(GRACELING, BY KRISTIN CASHORE) I started reading Graceling as a novel study, but the more I
read the more I wanted to know!
I disliked at first that it was written from thread person, though I learned to love it. Part One The Lady
Killer. The lady killer is not mealy a metaphor, The Lady Killer is the story.
A story of how Kasta (The Lady Killer) revolves and rebels! Kasta (The Lady Killer) is graced with
the power too kill, so it is thought...
In this time and place people with graces belong to the king, he has the right to use them in anyway
necessary. Kasta being a relative of the Randa, King of the Middluns is now a part of the game of
power. The king uses her to scare and toucher or even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the battle, Po gives Katsa his ring. In his attempt to kill Leck, Po is shot with an arrow, and
falls off a cliff into a pool of water, face first.
When Katsa fishes him out, she and Bitterblue dress the wound in his shoulder, slump him over a
horse, and set out for the king was not dead and the only one who could kill him was knocked out.
Po insists that they leave him behind to save the child because he was slowing them down. Sad as
Katsa was, they left him in a cabin and set off for Po s castle on the other side of the Seven Kingdoms
in Lienid, an island to the southwest. Katsa supposes that Leck s men will be at the mountain pass, and
Monport by the sea.
She decides to take the suicidal path through the mountains and the two end up in Sunder where they
head to the water to take a boat to Lienid. Disguising themselves as boys, they attempt to board a
Lienid ship where they pay a boy for passage.
He accuses them of stealing and takes them to Captain Faun for approval. The lady captain shortly
realizes that the two boys were not in fact boys. When Katsa shows them Po s ring and says he gave it
her, they were not so easily convinced but soon realized it to be the truth. Because of her possession of
the royal ring, they agree to travel to Lienid.
When they arrive at Lienid, Katsa and Bitterblue head for Po s castle.
Once inside, a steward says that his master as recently arrived, assuming that he meant Po, they were
astonished. But,

Justification Of Revolt In America
Justification of Revolt The American colonists came to North America to part from Britain and its
monarchy. They called America the New World, a land for new beginnings. The King, or the Royal
Brute of Great Britain, thought of the New World as a token in which he could benefit from. He used
America for its cotton, gold, and to show that Britain was the most powerful country. King George III
took advantage of the colonists and America s resources. The colonists wished to separate from Great
Britain and had enough spirit to be able to win the war. The American colonists were justified in
breaking away from Britain and initiating the Revolutionary War because parliament was passing
absurd laws and acts, withdrawing colonial freedom, and disrupting the peace among colonial citizens
; however, one may consider that the colonists were the blame for the Revolutionary War happening at
all. Parliament had passed many laws without consulting those in the colonies. In result, America was
denied the right to colonial currency, Britain cut off trade with America, and the King placed a tax on
all paper items. The Sugar, Townshend, and Stamp Acts were all unreasonable and caused disruption
among the colonies. Even published in Letters From a Farmer in Pennsylvania a man said There is
another late act of parliament, which appears to me to be unconstitutional. [...] Never did the British
parliament, [until the passage of the Stamp Act] think of imposing duties in America for the

J. Gustafson Observation
I heard Officer J. Gustafson, who was doing an evidence track with and K 9
Officer C. Buchanan, stated via the radio, they found a firearm in the 1700 block of A ST SE, which is
just south of the 7/11. I walked to Officer
Gustafson s location as he was taking photographs of the firearm. I observed a firearm, which had a
black grip and silver slide in a bush on the east side of A
ST SE. Officer Gustafson collected the firearm and removed the magazine. I observed the firearm and
magazine did not have any ammunition in them. I placed the firearm and magazine in paper bags for
evidence.
The firearm was a Smith Wesson SD 40 VE. The serial number on the firearm was
HEE3709. I checked the serial number through WACIC/NCIC via dispatch and it returned clear and ...

I later observed there were 13 pills in the bottle, 9 white and 4 green. The white pills either had Xanax
or GG 249 inscribed on them, and the green pills had S 90 3 inscribed on them. I used Drugs.com pill
identifier and learned all of the pills were 2 mg of Alprazolam (Xanax).
I drove to the Auburn Police Department to enter evidence. Once there, Officer
Minkler gave me a black LG ZTE cell phone and a Pittsburgh Steelers beanie to be entered into
evidence. She stated both items belonged to Samaga and he was wearing the beanie when Police
contacted him.
Officer Minkler also provided me with two Samsung cell phones, one black one white, and stated they
belonged to Dominique Davis Hill, who was in custody for a warrant. Officer Minkler stated the cell
phones needed to be entered into evidence because Davis was involved with Samaga and she had
made phone calls since the incident occurred.
I took photographs of the firearm, magazine, beanie, backpack, pills, marijuana, scale, and cell
phones. I later copied the photos to the V:drive
I entered all of the above items into evidence.
This concluded my involvement in this case and this report is being forwarded to the Auburn Police

Rhea hid zeus. After Cronus eat zeus brothers Rhea hid zeus to grow up in a cave and when he cried

Social and Emotional Development
Child Development:
Social and Emotional Development
Child Development Social and Emotional Development
Introduction:
As we grow older we change; these changes are most visible during infancy and childhood. From
birth, babies grow larger and show noticeable development in both their social and intellectual
competence. The study of age related changes in human behaviour is referred to as developmental
psychology. Child development refers to the psychological and biological changes that occur in
individuals from birth to adolescence. By understanding child development, psychologists know what
to expect in infants and children at each developmental stage, and can therefore establish the
limitations in infant s and children s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, it allows us to help infants and children deal with and work through any experiences that
they have had, because we can understand and acknowledge how the infant/child is feeling. However,
we are all individuals with individual personalities, and as such, we must remember that children will
develop in different ways and at different rates from each other. Below I will portray the age related
development in infants and children both socially and emotionally.
The following bullet points outline the stages of social development in children:
Infants (1 month):
Even newborn infants show social behaviours. They love to be touched, held, smiled at and cooed to.
At as young an age as one month old, infants can be seen to experiment with their faces and
expressions, and may even try to mimic adults facial gestures. Because their facial muscles are fully
developed at birth, they can make many expressions Newborns can smile slightly, knit their brows, or
appear to pout or cry, and if you give them something that tastes awful, they look disgusted (4).
Infants (3 months): At three months of age, infants will spend their time watching what is going on
around them. They will show their first real smile, perhaps accompanying it with some gurgling in an
attempt to start interacting with others, especially parents/guardians. Infants (4 months): At

Government s Department Of Defense Organizational Management Approach Introduction The U.S. Government s Department of Defense (DoD) is a very large organization with many leaders at various levels. From a macro level or overarching perspective the DoD is very hierarchal and bureaucratic. Then, from a micro level perspective, there are leaders within the DoD who practice more lateral or flat approaches to leadership. Furthermore, the DoD has both a military side where leadership is hierarchal as well as transactional, as well as a civilian side which is much more transformational. The macro level structure more authoritative, where direction is provided without consulting lower levels input. Furthermore, there are specific rules and regulations and a clear division of labor within the Government bureaucracy (Schoology, 2017). The Government s bureaucratic, hierarchal, and authoritarian approach is very similar to Max Weber s classical organization theory as he viewed it from a macro perspective (Onday, 2016). Conversely, the Government is very different from a micro level perspective. Micro Level Contingency and Lateral Approaches The micro level, below the military and civilian directorates, the leadership is less authoritative, this is particularly true on the civilian side. The civilian side of Government follows more of neo classical management theory, focused more on culture and performance (Schoology, 2017). However, the military side continues to maintain a relatively strong authoritative leadership approach down to the lowest level, due to the nature of how they carry out their defined mission and goals. The side opposing the rights to own certain guns have been frantically trying to convince others to join them in the fight. Like most advertisements, the ads concerning the issue of gun rights have to be provocative and eye catching. The Moms Demand Action for Gun Safety in America society created an advertisement around 2013 to persuade Americans to support the ban of assault weapons in America. The advertisement got the point across about the danger of not banned assault weapons compared to a relatively harmless banned children s book, but fell short with the lettering, resulting in the lack of explanation for the ad. The image contains two elementary age girls sitting on the ground facing the camera. These two girls are different races. The African American girl holds a copy of Little Riding Hood in her hands facing the camera. The Caucasian girl is holding a massive assault gun that appears to be almost as big as she is. These two girls are sitting cross legged on the ground in a typical elementary school library. The library has an American flag tucked in the corner. • 10. Summary Of The Lobster By David Foster Wallace Throughout Consider the Lobster, an article written by David Foster Wallace about the 2004 Maine Lobster Festival, Wallace demonstrates that not all of his writing is clear and concise. The author does this through his various viewpoints in the article, which allow him to capture the reader s attention. A particular sentence that captures the initiation of Wallace s writing is, The suppers come in styrofoam trays, and the soft drinks are iceless and flat, and the coffee is convenience store coffee in more styrofoam, and the utensils are plastic (there are none of the special long skinny forks for pushing out the tail meat.) (Pg. 239). Within this sentence, Wallace describes the many parts of the festival and how they show the not so good side of the festival. Between the cheap styrofoam trays and the flat drinks, the festival gives off a poor vibe to the reader. Wallace s use of changing viewpoints adds to what he originally wants to do, which is to be able to give the reader a chance to pick which side of the argument they want to be on. The author not only gives the reader different views, but he also changes up his tone. By adding dynamic shifts in his writing, he includes the reader and gives better feel for what this article is really about. This gives the reader a feel of what Wallace really is thinking. This sentence stands out due to the fact that Wallace talks about the positive aspects of what occurs during the festival throughout the beginning of the article. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Relics Of Buddhism And Buddhism Relics are thought to be present in Buddhism since the 5th Century B.C.E, when the original Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, was said to have lived, and Buddhism itself was a new religion. They continue today as sacred objects of worship. Relics that are as old as Buddhism itself are said to exist and still be worshipped. Although the idea of relics may seem contradictory to many of Buddhist beliefs, they actually do resonate with many ideals of Buddhist teachings and practices. To see whether relics pose a contradiction between doctrine and practice, we first need to see exactly what relics in Buddhism are. The word relic itself has many meanings including something left behind , the body or bodily frame , constituent element or essential ingredient and many more interpretations. In Buddhism, relics are body parts and/or any physical remains of a highly regarded Buddha or monk. They are held in stupas, constructed dome shaped structures, associated with Buddhas or other powerful beings. Relics are worshiped just as sacred objects and other things in a temple would be. A large appeal of relics is that they are portable and are an easy way to closer with the Buddha itself. When relics are present the Buddha is present, quoted Schopen, describing just how connected relics are believed to be to these powerful beings. Relics are, therefore, an important aspect of worship and relation to the Buddha in this religion. How then could they be contradictory to the doctrine of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Athena is in favor of the Greeks because she saw a part of herself in Achilles, and frankly because she hated the Trojans. Fate bound the gods in Book 22 lines 190 209. As Achilles was face to face with Hector, Zeus showed pity for Hector. In this scene, Zeus knew that Hector was destined to die. Zeus wanted to save Hector, but was persuaded by Athena that it was Hector s time. Athena argued with him that if he would step in and save Hector that many other gods would be upset with his actions. Not only would the gods be angry, but death was Hector s fate, and the gods were bound to it. This is an example of how fate outweighed what the gods wanted to happen. Zeus was wrestling with the thought of saving Hector or allowing Hector to meet his fate. Achilles and Athena s relationship seemed to be superficial. Although Athena seemed to care for Achilles, her motive came from viewing parts of herself within him. The gods seemed to intervene when the scene looked as if it needed a bit of excitement. For example, in Book 22, Hector was being chased along the city wall by Achilles. Athena presented herself in the image of Hector s brother, Deïphobus, to persuade Hector to stop running and fight with Achilles. • 17. Imagery, Diction, And Tone Of Roethke s Root Cellar A Plant s Bacchanalia: Imagery, Diction, and Tone in Roethke s Root Cellar How can an atmosphere be so unbearable and cold, but evidently full of life and constant growth? Set in an old, decaying basement, Theodore Roethke addresses this in the poem Root Cellar. Life is clinging to and climbing over the dirty, damp, and dark possessions of the cellar. Why is it possible that so much life is present in such a place of shadows? In Root Cellar , Roethke uses imagery, diction, and tone to display that is possible for life to overcome unbearable circumstances suggesting that nature is a truly dominant and powerful force. First, Roethke uses a variety of natural imagery to illustrate the poor conditions of the root cellar. The imagery is extremely concrete, which is illustrated through the use of sensory language. By being inside the cellar, multiple senses are engaged, which ranges from smells, sights, and surfaces to touch. Roethke writes that there were a congress of stinks (6) and then proceeds to explain them as roots ripe as old bait (7) and leaf mold, manure, lime (9); the sensory imagery here reveals that the root cellar is not only unpleasant to the eye, but the nose as well. Additionally, sensory imagery, such as the phrase slippery planks (9) reveals that one might not want to get too close to the scene. However poor the sensory experience may be for a human, life is persisting for the plants regardless. The plants are able to strive and continue to grow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Too Much Crying isn t a Good Thing Crying is undoubtedly one of the most common humanistic features when it comes to the emotions of the average person, due to the fact that every human being has shed tears for which ever reasons their emotions led them to. However, crying can also be the result of many other issues and can indicate a serious problem if done continuously and drastically to the point where it becomes a serious concern. In adolescents, it is more normal to cry as the child may not understand or know what to do about a situation, leaving them flustered, agitated, sad, angry, or any negative emotion causing them to cry. With these things being said, when crying is understood to be the result of an underlying deep rooted issue, the next step is to understand the enforcer that is keeping the behavior of crying continuous and figure out exactly how to decrease it to the point of normality. Crying has also yet to be examined systematically in isolation from other problem behavior, such as aggression or tantrums, during functional analyses (Hanley, Iwata, McCord, 2003). Identification of variables that may maintain crying is especially important for populations who are susceptible to psychiatric interventions (e.g., individuals who have intellectual disabilities and communication deficits). Social Justice And Government By Karl Marx Social Justice and Government The view of social justice in today s society may be different depending on who you are, what religion you come from, or even the culture in which you were raised. According to the Catholic Church and its social teachings, the view of social justice is talked about in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is viewed as the condition that allows individuals and associations to gain what is their due, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church s stance on social justice. Since individuals are already created equally through God, therefore the perfect form of social justice is an environment where the individual is able to reach their full human potential. The Industrial Revolution that started in the 1780 s in Great Britain had many effects, but they were not fully felt until the 1830 s or 1840 s. The works done by Karl Marx talks about how the classless system was not the ideal form of government in Europe. Karl Marx formed and developed the modern day popular form of social justice known as Marxism or socialism. Marx s problem with the struggles of social justice and society during his time era were that he could not accept the form of politics such as the classless system at that time and on the rebound he introduced his idealism. Marx also unified the theory of social justice with the practical beliefs that human activity is key. Marx s approach to social justice is based on human relations as free from exploitation, ... He was born in the wake of Athens s Golden Age, the period that had witnessed Athens s the beginning of the strongest Greek power, the birth of classical Athenian architecture, drama, and arts. His father Ariston died when he was a child. His mother Perictione remarried the politician Pyrilampes. Plato what is at stake is a clash between what we might call comprehensive world views; it seems that matters of grave importance in ethics, politics, metaphysics, theology, and e are at stake. Plato agrees that Homer is indeed the educator of Greece, and immediately adds that Homer is the most poetic and first of the tragic poets. Plato is setting himself against what he takes to be the entire outlook in contemporary. Since Homer shaped the popular culture of the times, Plato is setting himself against popular culture as he knew it. Plato has in his sights all of poetry, contending that its influence is pervasive and often harmful, and that its insite about nature and the divine are mistaken. It is not easy to understand what Plato means by poetry, whether it is dangerous because of its form or content or both. These questions are complicated by the fact that Plato was not thinking of poetry as a written text read in silence; he had in mind performances, often experienced in theater. When Socrates and Plato conducted their inquiries, poetry was far more influential than what Plato calls philosophy. Few people today would imagine that there is any interesting relation between poetry and rhetoric. To think of great poets as rhetoricians seems weird, and most rhetoricians do not seem to know the first thing about poetry. Yet Plato himself associates the two very closely: at Gorgias he characterizes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evolution Of The Traditional Family In The 1950 s Emily Hodack Soc 100 3/14/17 Discussion 9 Nuclear family is defined as familial form consisting of a father, a mother, and their children (Conley, 2015, p. 453). This type of family was considered the traditional family in American society in the 1950s. The traditional family was when the man worked outside the home and the wife stayed at home and tended to the home and children. Also the idea of the traditional family has changed, especially with the rate of divorce and single parents increasing. The divorce rate has been steadily rising since the nineteenth century, as divorce became less and less of a social and religious taboo (Conley, 2015, p. 456). They either like the lyrics or like the beat and do not fully understand the meaning. For example, Foster the People s Pumped Up Kicks is a very catchy song with a good chorus but the meaning is misconstrued. The meaning and the musicality is not intertwined. It is a song about a a disturbed kid going on a killing spree. Unlike Foster the People, people adore Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a nineteenth century poet, not because he had a good rhythm, but because he intertwines musicality and imagery. He merges sight and sound to establish a cinematic orchestra and paints a vivid image full of depth and personality. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow incorporates religion through the influence of nature and the strong presence of musicality in The Cross of Snow , My Lost Youth , Autumn and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls . Many of Longfellow s influences on his works have sprouted from his early life experiences. Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine to Stephen Longfellow and Zilpah Longfellow. As a child Longfellow was known for his vivid imagination. Little did he know that his childhood experiences sparked many of ideas for his future works. This is not only a sport, but an activity available to anyone that offers valuable life lessons to those who play. Lessons and skills such as leadership and teamwork, determination, and friendships are a few that I have gotten out of playing soccer. Many people view soccer as a waste of two and a half hours because the game becomes repetitive and predictable. The start off of the game is as follows, one team starts with possession of the ball with the intention is to score a goal, while keeping it away from the other team and vice versa. Watching the sport may seem boring to those who do not play because they don t understand it. People who don t play soccer do not realize the amount of time and effort it takes to excel in this sport, which comes down to the time spent practicing and conditioning. The more hours spent on footwork and physical conditioning, the better you become. This sport can be extremely physical, but it is also a mental game. It is important to be in the right mental state during a game because distraction in the head leads to mistakes on the field. A strong mental state is extremely important in soccer, as well as every day. The ability to multitask proves to be an advantage in the game; when a player has the ball, they need to continue to move, look for open teammates on the field, and maneuver around the opposing team simultaneously. I think the idea of knowledge being a truly powerful force is what sparked Wachowski s imagination, and because of this, was the idea for the film. In my opinion Neo made the correct decision in selecting the red pill. I feel that someone who strives for perfection, and somebody who strives to always do better should have the same thirst for knowledge that Neo had. When the question was initially asked of Neo, I did not see how he could turn it down; being given the chance to learn one of the biggest secrets on your planet, to me, was too good an opportunity to turn down. Evolution Of Flight Research Paper Flight is a very complex function, and in order to develop into what we know now as birds, there are several major evolutionary changes that needed to develop to maturity. In order for fly, the skeletal structure, musculature, respiratory system, circulatory systems, and feathers must all be adapted to allow for an organism to take flight. Many scientists have proposed theories about the origin of flight, but the Arboreal and Cursorial theories have emerged as the strongest cases. Arboreal theories are based around the idea that the organisms climbing into trees jump out of those trees and glide down, eventually adapted to flap to increase drag. This theory is based in the skeletal similarities of gliding animals to those of birds.1 This tree hopping evolution hypothesis is supported by Archaeopteryx, one of the prime examples of a transitional animal for flight. There are many theories about what happened to the colony but there is no conclusive answer. So many people are unable to obtain organs they need due to the lack of availability. Increased medical advances have created the need for many more organs than are available (Staff). A commercial market may or may not solve the problem. There is a lack of commitment when it comes to donating organs which could be from fear. Whereas done in a legally regulated environment, this process can be done in a sterile operating room decreasing the risk of infection (Armour). There is legislation and laws in place to avoid these incidents; however those who deal in the black market normally are not law abiding individuals concerned with these regulations. There are 3 proposed solutions to the problem. An organ market, a presumed consent program and a required request program (The Legal Dictionary). This would allow for the donors organs to be removed upon their death. This could be done with a cash payment or a tax credit prior to death. • 35. Peaceful And Nonviolent Resistance While peaceful and nonviolent approaches are effective when it comes to changing social attitudes and initiating social revolutions, these approaches do not always guarantee peaceful change. The methods of peaceful resistance articulated by Ghandi and MLK, only work within the context of democratic states with some form of established civil society. Nonviolent resistance in authoritarian dictatorships, on the other hand, does not guarantee change for the oppressed population, as this population is entirely at the mercy of the established order which typically views any opposition as a threat to their power and survival. Long term institutionalized oppression requires escalation from the dominant authority before nonviolent resistance can become viable option. Within democratic societies, violent resistance can often be directly linked to some form of state sanctioned violence. However, in these cases, non violent resistance offers a much better alternative because the state is more responsive to peaceful tactics. When established regime s chose violence as a response to non violent resistance, we see an escalation of violence. This is best exemplified by Syria s peaceful Arab Spring protests, which quickly escalated into a bloody civil war because of the Assad regime s decision to violently crackdown on peaceful protests. The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay Marina Senseney Eng. ll / 4th block October 27, 2015 Tragic hero Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis. His father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesar s mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s being only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted him in about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus before he reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC, Brutus revived his adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide, Gaius Servilius Ahala, from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his political career started when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus. During this time, he enriched himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also active in the province of Cilicia, in the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents how Brutus profited from moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. • 45. Justification Of Revolt In America Justification of Revolt The American colonists came to North America to part from Britain and its monarchy. They called America the New World, a land for new beginnings. The King, or the Royal Brute of Great Britain, thought of the New World as a token in which he could benefit from. He used America for its cotton, gold, and to show that Britain was the most powerful country. King George III took advantage of the colonists and America s resources. The colonists wished to separate from Great Britain and had enough spirit to be able to win the war. The American colonists were justified in breaking away from Britain and initiating the Revolutionary War because parliament was passing absurd laws and acts, withdrawing colonial freedom, and disrupting the peace among colonial citizens ; however, one may consider that the colonists were the blame for the Revolutionary War happening at all. Parliament had passed many laws without consulting those in the colonies. In result, America was denied the right to colonial currency, Britain cut off trade with America, and the King placed a tax on all paper items. The Sugar, Townshend, and Stamp Acts were all unreasonable and caused disruption among the colonies. Even published in Letters From a Farmer in Pennsylvania a man said There is another late act of parliament, which appears to me to be unconstitutional. The study of age related changes in human behaviour is referred to as developmental psychology. Additionally, it allows us to help infants and children deal with and work through any experiences that they have had, because we can understand and acknowledge how the infant/child is feeling. However, we are all individuals with individual personalities, and as such, we must remember that children will develop in different ways and at different rates from each other. Below I will portray the age related development in infants and children both socially and emotionally. The following bullet points outline the stages of social development in children: Infants (1 month): Even newborn infants show social behaviours. They love to be touched, held, smiled at and cooed to. At as young an age as one month old, infants can be seen to experiment with their faces and expressions, and may even try to mimic adults facial gestures.
