1. Please EXPLAIN the concept of sunk cost effect and give a personal example from your
experiences.
The sunk cost effect is when you feel like you have to get your money s worth no matter the
circumstance or negative outcomes is. The decision is based on future costs and benefits alone. It is an
investment that has already been made and cannot be recovered. Therefore, it is the hard money we
made and paid for to risk the chances of enjoying it or not.
I paid $350 to go on a family reunion in Norfolk, Virginia. When we got on the bus early that
morning, and fell all sleep quickly as we began to ride. Our first stop at the convenient store turned
into a disaster. We found out that the AC on the bus was not working, and was forced to stay ... Show

A great example would be books. We read website and blog s and they advertise book s stating that it
gives detail s about how to make fast money and even retire in your 30 s. Therefore, convincing us to
buy the books just to purchase them and tells us thing s we already know. When we go to the book
store we notice a new book saying 100 ways to make a fortune within a month. Since we already paid
for the other book, we are easily convinced that may this could be the right book that actually gives us
real ways to become rich. So then we buy it and still feel like the information is not enough. We go
back to the bookstore and look again. Since we already lost a lot of money in the other book s we are
hoping that eventually we will find that right book with authentic information to finally know how to
make a fortune.

The Poisonwood Bible, By Barbara Kingsolver, And Jane Eyre
Family Tides Family is extremely valuable and the way you re raised completely molds the your
behaviour and beliefs in the future. In the novels The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver, and
Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, the authors express that when children are brought up by a selfish
guardian it will negatively affect them. The Poisonwood Bible is about a christian family of six who
go down to the Belgian Congo on a mission trip to save the Congolese. But instead of saving them,
[they] aimed for no more than to have dominion over every creature that moved upon the earth

lets Nathan speak for her. Since she is the conqueror s wife she she can t help but feel as nothing more

best parent to raise kids in the unfamiliar Belgian Congo. Within each story there were children who

despite their parentage were Jane and Adah. these two being the only exceptions because of their
choice to distance themselves Adah and Jane would also distance themselves by seeking seclusion
within books, making it a transient stimulus, (Bronte 17) of some sort, for both of them allowing them
to escape their guardians. As both Jane, and Adah, grew up they both seeked education unlike the rest
of their family. Jane physically got away from her relatives by pursuing an education. Although she
scarcely knew what school was, (Bronte 70) she still really wanted to get schooling, and finally escape

family. Instead of talking, she keeps [her] thoughts to [herself], (Kingsolver 34)

read it in this paragraph. Anyway this tank can haul jeeps and several crew members. The abandoned
T20 Medium Tank was envisioned as a possible successor to the famous M4 Sherman Medium Tank

The production amount of this T20 Tank was only a total of 4 tanks built of this type tank, which is
not a lot of tanks, but it cost a lot of money.

The T20 Tank is originally made in the United States and the manufacturer is the U.S Ordnance
Department. This T20 Tank is made in the year of 1944, which means that the tank is 72 years old.
The government makes replica s of the T20 Tank. The only thing about the tank is, is that it cannot

the T20 Tank but it is not functional.
Power to this tank was served through a Ford GAN V 8 gasoline fueled engine of 470 horsepower
output. The engine offered road speeds of 25 mph and an operational range of 99 miles. The engine
was at the rear of the hull and the main armament was sat within a 360 degree traversing turret.
The tank ammunition was 75mm, 30 caliber, and a 50 caliber. The 50 caliber could penetrate through

be 1 inch to maybe 2 inches in size so it is likely that it could penetrate through a

What Is The Difference Between Modern And Modern Society
ompare and contrast traditional and modern society There is nothing more in the world that can arouse
people sympathy than by seeing children and women live in a harsh living environment and being
abused on both mental and physical perspective. In Old society, people are hemmed by their family
honor, inborn mission, society rules. They never have freedom and rights to choose and persuade joy,
dream; they live for their union in their whole life. On the other hand, modern people have democracy
and rights to plan their life, and whom they want to be, but they are also confined by advanced
technology, and social rules, and social norms. Women and children who live in modern society have
much higher social status than old days. However, if you ask, do people who live in nowadays live
better life than those people who live in early society. My answer is no. Although both modern culture
and traditional society are misfortune in their way, I am more sympathetic to those who live in
contemporary society. Both modern people and traditional people are confined by social rules. Both

people who incorporate a business, or succeed their family business, usually have their family (most
of the time parents) support by introducing them to senior of the business, or friends who could help

The Flea By John Donne And His Coy Mistress By Andrew Marvell
During the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, poetry was one of the most prevalent writing
styles. There were poets like John Donne and Andrew Marvell who participated in a type of poetry
referred to as metaphysical. Metaphysical poetry essentially is poetry that deals with things that are
more philosophical than anything else. This type of poetry also is very emotion based but also has
logically aspects. These poets have written several bodies of work that can fall under the metaphysical
umbrella. Two examples of metaphysical poems written by these two poets are The Flea and To His
Coy Mistress. Being metaphysical poetry is not the only thing these two poems have in common.

We are introduced to yet another speaker who is using his words to persuade a woman into premarital
sex. Even though the intent was the same in both poems, each speaker had their own unique means of
convincing the woman.
The authors take two very different approaches to persuade a woman to participate in the same act.
Their approaches are reflective in their use of certain language. In The Flea, the speaker is taking the
approach of comparing the act to the happenings of a flea that bit both the speaker and the woman.
The speaker uses this metaphor through the entirety of the poem. The speaker goes on to say that the
flea has already mixed their blood, yet it is not seen as a sin. In this flea our two bloods mingled be;
Thou know st that this cannot be said A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead (Donne,____). The
speaker takes this logic and says that the flea mixing their blood is taking it a step further than just the
act of premarital sex, so because they were not punished for such an act as their blood actually mixing
then how can they possibly be punished for having sex before marriage. The speaker into His Coy
Mistress takes a different approach from the very beginning by blatantly saying that the women s
coyness towards him could be seen as a crime. Had we but world enough and time, This coyness, lady,
were no crime (Marvell____). The speaker is using this as a means on again romanticizing the
situation. He is saying that in a

Low Velocity Impact And Impact After Compression Of Cork...
Low Velocity Impact and Impact after Compression in Cork Based Composite material
ABSTRACT:
Experiments are carried out in the investigation to find out the role of cork as an ideal core material,
which is used as a shield plate in the front of land military vehicles to verify the energy absorption and
damage tolerance. Composite materials are used in various industries these days due to its high
strength to weight ratio putting them into light weight applications. Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion
Method is chosen to manufacture the laminate. Specimens are cut according to American Society for
Testing and Materials Standards are used. Low velocity impact is carried out on the specimens to
observe the energy absorption capabilities of the specimens with two different testing variables i.e.,
energy level and amount of the viscoelastic material. Afterwards, Compression after Impact test is
carried out to study the Damage tolerance of the impacted specimen. The study of all the results from
the above tests shows us the energy absorption and damage tolerance with the presence of cork as a
core material. Further studies can be done in different energy levels, different viscoelastic materials
and also different fibres and resins. INTRODUCTION:
Recent years, high modulus and high strength was the main concern of the development of advance
performance of the composite materials. High strength is not only the objective but also the
performance of the material along with ability

libertarian utopia, free from governments prying eyes would be the basis of this site. Dreaming of a
website that would be a black market to buy and sell drugs, Ulbricht created and fostered what he
would call The Silk Road. The site saw major success with millions of dollars in bitcoins, an online

Later in life he would graduate with a masters in material science and engineering. He would move on
to start several businesses, most failed. One of the few businesses that would succeed would be his
bookstore, Good Wagon Books that he founded with his roommate at the time. Ulbricht would give
back to the community by hiring college students to work for him. This all collapsed on him when he
had made an oversight in the construction of the book selves. Once he began the Silk Road, Ulbricht
attempted to keep it secret from his family and close friends. He would tell lies and lead a double life
in order to remain under the radar. One example of this was when he was dating a girl named Jessica.
Ulbricht agonized over the fact that he could not be more intimate with her and had to resort to deceit
to keep his secrets hidden. Over time Ulbricht would become more corrupt. Having a false sense of
security from law enforcement through the dark web caused him to become arrogant and ignorant of

Movement In The Stranger
Movement within one s life provides adventure and expansion while further developing ideas and one
s outlook on life. In the novel, the stranger by Albert Camus, we follow the story of a protagonist
named Meursault. Throughout the novel we can contrast the thoughts and outlook of Meursault as he
is both exposed to movement and confinement, highlighting his outlook on life and seeing just how
much of an influence it has on both him and the plot.
At the beginning of the novel, Meursault experiences what most would see as a great and sad loss, the
death of his mother. His mother, who he calls manam lives away from Meursault causing him to travel
to her funeral. This movement and change of routine for Meursault seems to stress him and almost ...

After killing a man, he is sent to prison where he waits and talks continuously to attorneys. In this
large section of the novel, little to no movement occurs. This increases the character s feeling of being
self aware and actually going against his pre established existentialist ideas. Traveling is something
most see as a glorious luxury and wish to do so continuously throughout their lives. However,
Meursault thinks otherwise initially. He rather waste away in prison as he sees everything in life as
extra, unnecessary and a waste of time. He has no ambition in life, he isn t curious about others and
their stories. When offered to travel due to a new job position opening up, he turns it down as he sees
no need for it. He kills the man and feels no remorse nor does he try to get out of it. This is the kind of
mindset we slowly see to develop as the lack of movement slowly begins to influence him and his
thoughts. The time of trial provides a showcase of Meursault true feelings, he states One thing
bothered me throughout. Despite everything that was on my mind, I felt like intervening every now
and then, but my lawyer kept telling me just keep quiet it won t do your case any good. In a way, they
seemed to be arguing the case as if it had nothing to do with me. Everything was happening without
any participation. My fate was being decided without anyone so much asking my opinion.

John Updike s A P, Richard Wright s The Man Who Was Almost a Man, and James Joyce s Araby
Stories about youth and the transition from that stage of life into adulthood form a very solidly
populated segment of literature. In three such stories, John Updike s A P, Richard Wright s The Man
Who Was Almost a Man, and James Joyce s Araby , young men face their transitions into adulthood.
Each of these boys faces a different element of youth that requires a fundamental shift in their
attitudes. Sammy, in A P , must make a moral decision about his associations with adult institutions
that mistreat others. Dave, in The Man Who Was Almost a Man, struggles with the idea that what

Sammy, however, surprises us, just like the story does. His immediate infatuation with the girls and
everything they represented (the youth he was quickly denying himself by being tied at such a young
age to the very adult world of work) quickly brought him to realize that his life was still that of a
young person. What he thinks is an act of bravery, which will certainly be awarded with the attentions
of Queenie , turns out to be a solo act of personal assertion. Just when Sammie thinks his life is
ending, it is truly just beginning.
Richard Wright s story, The Man Who Was Almost a Man , is also a story of a youthful ignorance of
the actual complexities of the world. To Dave, the main character of the story, getting a gun will make
all the difference in his becoming a man, musing Shucks, a man oughta hava little gun aftah he done

the gun is the central literary symbol of Wright s. With a gun in his hand, Dave is convinced that his
fears will disappear, that he will become powerful and honored. Just as Updike demonstrates with
Sammy, Wright shows us that Dave is both naïve and misguided. From the first, Dave demonstrates
his childishness in his very strategy to get the gun. He speculates, sounding quite immature, that his
mother will give him a gun. He is subsequently childish in his handling, or mishandling, of the old
revolver. As he

Fairy Tales By The Grimm Brothers
Originally, fairy tales were used to teach children social norms or cultural beliefs within a society,
instead of primarily being used as entrainment. Fairy tales are also known to guide children to accept
the traditional stereotypes of being female and male, as they typically reinforce the idea that women
would be more desirable if they are not only obedient, but pure and beautiful as well. The view of
women as a lessor sex is also a common belief in a patriarchal society, which is commonly found in
most fairy tales. The ideas which fairy tales reinforce needs to be challenged. Written by the Grimm
brothers, the two fairy tales Little Snow White {1819} and Little Briar Rose {1812} will be analysed,

The film does discriminate against women, as it portrays women to be submissive to a man s will. The
film also displays an attitude that it is perfectly acceptable for a beautiful woman to fall in love with
an ugly beast, but there is no indication that it is okay for a handsome man to fall for an ugly woman.
The film also displays woman solely in the private sphere, and the one occasion where Belle leaves it,
she has to be rescued. This indicates the idea that once a woman leaves the comforts of home, she has
to require the services of man to ensure her safety. Aside from the enchantress, all other female
character are shown as silly and selfish.
The film also displays the idea that if one does not conform to societies guidelines and values, then
they will be deemed as an outcast. Throughout the beginning of the film it is clear to the reader that
Belle is very intelligent, and possesses qualities which are typically reserved for male characters, such
as being adventures, reading, and inventing. Despite her obvious intelligence, the villagers deem her
as an outcast due to her overall longing for adventure. This reinforces the thinking that intelligent
females are a rarity, and to be something to be tolerated, but not encouraged. This is shown when the
villagers attempt to foil her ideas,

Importance Of Political Society In Modern Society
The American federal framework enables state and local governments to try different things with
various sorts of political establishments, electoral instruments and creative public policies. The
political societies of these legislatures help characterize the legitimate exercises of governments, how
they should work and who ought to partake. The investigation of state and local political culture in the
United States has been ruled by Daniel Elazar s model of the moralistic, individualistic and
traditionalistic subcultures. All the more as of late another political culture has risen in view of
economic and social changes. The investigation of political culture has been generally utilized, yet it
isn t without critics who contend that different components have more impact on approaches at the
state and local level, and that culture is excessively troublesome, making it impossible to characterize.
Importance of Different Political Subcultures into Modern Society Daniel Elazar first estimated in
1966 that the United States could be separated into three unmistakable political societies: moralistic,
individualistic, and traditionalistic, in his book American Federalism: A View from the States . The
dissemination of these societies all through the United States is ascribed to the transient patterns of
immigrants who settled in and spread out the nation over from the east toward the west coast. These
settlers had unmistakable political and religious esteems that influenced their

Term Limits For Positions In Congress
The idea of setting term limits for positions in Congress is a hotly debated issue in politics. Both sides
of the issue have very persuasive and valid arguments. Those who argue for term limits claim that
term limits reduces corruption and promotes productivity. Term limits will hinder politicians chances
to become corrupt. According to occupytheory.org, politicians without term limits have more time to
develop connections and learn how to navigate the system for personal gain. Also, shorter time in

Analysis Of The Poem Porphyria s Lover And My Last...
In the poems, Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess , both written by Robert Browning, each
speaker mentions a woman whom they had once known. The poems, being considered as dramatic
monologues, depict a particular role that women have through the eyes of speaker. Browning keeps
the speakers mysterious, but lets out their true characters through the use of the women in each of their
lives. Each speaker brings their own eerie tone to the poem which adds to the mysteriousness of their
characters. Browning uses the women as a way for the obsessive qualities of both speakers to shine
through. These women are not very important actors in the poem, but Browning uses these women to
create a sense of the speakers by how and what they say pertaining to these women. The plot line of
Porphyria s Lover starts off calm, but ends up to be quite gruesome. The woman, Porphyria, comes in

beginning of the poem holds a seemingly romantic quality. There is a sense of familiarity between the

Multiple Definitions Of Being Intentional
Intentional Intentional can have multiple definitions. The definition, to me, that describes it the most is
to do something on purpose. I have so far been very intentional this school year. By studying hard, and
listening more in class. I am intentionally trying to make even better grades. I have also been
intentional when it comes to my friendships with friends. I have been spending more time with them. I
have been intentionally trying to have better friendships with them. Something I need to work on is
being more intentional with behaving better in class. I have a problem with talking, and easily having
an attitude when I do not need to have one. I also need to work on being more intentional when it
comes to obeying my parents. I really

The Korean War
With the elimination of the Japanese threat by 1945, the demoralization of the Chinese Nationalist
Party (KMT) in 1949, and the conclusion of the Korean War by 1953, the Chinese Communist Party
(CCP) and the party s leader, Mao Zedong, internalized efforts and re established order within the
People s Republic of China (PRC). Under Mao s leadership, the PRC experienced immediate and
influential reforms ⎯ most notably the Hundred Flowers Campaign, the Great Leap Forward, and the
Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution ⎯ that benefitted the PRC at first, but later steered the nation to
unprecedented political, social, and economic turmoil. By 1976, the year of his death, Mao had left
China in widespread chaos and civil unrest with millions of Chinese dead, starving, and impoverished.
By 1979, Chinese statesman Deng Xiaoping emerged to become China s undisputed leader after
defeating Hua Guofeng, Mao s chosen successor. With his superior political skills and decades of
experience, Deng engineered vital economic, political, social reforms that would help restore China
from the amounting unrest Mao established between 1957 and 1976. However, similar to Mao, Deng
also confronted opposition and problematic events that tarnished his legacy. Ultimately, not only did
Mao s aspirations for China fail to completely coincide with reality, but also the aftermath of his ideals
produced unwarranted consequences. Consequently, by implementing a more practical government
and minimizing the

College Student Athlete
When you invest your time, you make a goal and a decision of something that you want to
accomplish. Whether it s make good grades in school, be a good athlete, be a good person, go down
and do some community service and help somebody who s in need, whatever it is you choose to do,
you re investing your time in that (Nick Saban). Athletes .Being a student athlete in college increases
your chances of success in college by getting constant pressure from the coaches to get good grades,
receiving a full scholarship helps the athlete not have any debt after he or she graduates also playing
sports helps one build social network.
The pressure the coaches put on their players has a positive reflection on their grades. Coaches will
push and nag for their student athletes to go to tutorials, get to know your professor, and even sit in the
front so the teacher can know you are serious about your education. The graduation rate for student

Exploration of Civil Disobedience in Sophocles Antigone, King s Letter from Birmingham Jail, and
Plato s From Crito
Civil disobedience spawns a major and widely debated issue by many who established by well known
intelligent scholars and many examples of civil disobedience become displayed. The acts of civil
disobedience can be noted in major works such as Sophocles?s Antigone, King?s ?Letter from
Birmingham Jail?, or even from Plato?s ?from Crito?. A specific claim exemplified throughout these
works make that civil disobedience races in gaining popularity and should remain allowed, and
continued to be seen as a solution to reform poorly established laws. A claim represented is, civil
disobedience is right. Rhetorically, appeals such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The body referring to Antigone?s brother, this determination was to go against the law established by
Creon. When a particular law is poorly established, someone is bound to defy it. Namely, Antigone
was bound to break this law and disobey its authority. Credibility is also shown in ?from
Crito?; the prisoner who taught philosophy. Plato was imprisoned because he taught philosophy to
people and he is credible for not doing wrong. In King?s ?Letter from Birmingham Jail?, it is credible
because it is known that Martin Luther King Jr. is a very credible person in the civil rights movement.
Credibility strikes to be an important part of this claim.
The logical part of the rhetorical appeals refers mainly to the specific facts as evidence. From ?Letter
from Birmingham? a good logical claim, made by Martin Luther King Jr., supports and explains how
his race was treated as inferior and being persecuted. He utilizes examples of how racial injustice
became a huge problem. Antigone also provided facts for claims of civil disobedience and of how she
was opposed to the law of leaving her brother left without a proper burial. The quotation ?After those
terrible threats of yours, kings, we brushed the dust away from the body.? This quotation refers and
explains how Antigone had originally buried the body and the guard had uncovered it. There isn?t
much logical appeal in the work ?from Crito?.

Irish Writer By Liam O Flaherty
Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness
thrust upon them. This quote by William Shakespeare certainly holds true to author Liam O Flaherty,
who had defiantly achieved greatness. Irish author Liam O Flaherty was born August 28, 1897, on a
small island off the coast of Ireland. O Flaherty was famous for the short stories he wrote during the
Irish Renaissance, a time around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
However, writing was not all that O Flaherty had worked as: a lumberjack, deckhand, dishwasher,
bank clerk, and as a miner were various vocations he had been employed in. He had also traveled
across several countries, some being the United States, Canada, and several others throughout South
America. O Flaherty also served in World War I after abandoning his quest for priesthood (The Editors
of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2015). Sadly, on September 1, 1984, Liam O Flaherty died at the age of
87, but he left behind an incredible collection of written works for people around the world to enjoy.
One popular short story that Liam O Flaherty wrote was The Sniper . This story takes place in the city
of Dublin, the present day capital of Ireland, amidst the Irish Civil War. A young man close to his
college years was atop a roof with his rifle, laying in silence. The young man had lit a cigarette, but as
he did, a bullet streaked by his head. He then turned and saw

Gun Control Policies Applied To Rational And Group Theory...
Short Analysis of Gun Control Policies Applied to Rational and Group Theory Models In 2012 Sandy
Hook Elementary School was victim of a terrible mass shooting that prompted several states and cities
to pass strict gun control measures. This sparked a widely debated and controversial issue for gun
friendly states in the South and West, who responded with bills that would strengthen Stand Your
Ground laws and allow weapons in most public places. The nation continues to be divided on gun
control policies, as it is very controversial and continues to be a very hot topic in society today. There
has been a rise in gun violence throughout the years, and it has been widely been debated that guns are
too easily accessible and there is a continued push for stricter gun laws that can reduce the risk of gun
violence. This paper will focus on the implementation of two models of public policy; Group Model
and Rational Model. Group Theory begins with, the proposition that interaction among groups is the
central fact of politics. Group Theory is when individuals with common interests band together
formally or informally to press their demands upon government, a shared attitude group that makes
certain claims upon other groups in society (Dye, p. 26). Additionally, this paper will apply the
rational model to gun control policies. Rational policy, as defined by Dye, is a policy that gives the
majority of society what they want. It has emphasis on achieving maximum social gain (Dye, p.30)
Group Theory Model The group theory model, as defined by Dye, reflects that there is power in
numbers and that the influence of a group can be determined by numbers, wealth, organizational
strength, access to decision makers and internal cohesion (Dye, p.27). As the federal government
moves to make strict gun control laws and policies one extremely influential group has had
overwhelming success in slowing the process of these policies. That powerful group is known as the
National Rifle Association, a group founded in 1871 that has a focus on promoting and encouraging
rifle shooting. The NRA, already a large mass of like minded people, has been influencing policy
makers for decades via sending letters and eventually developing a

Argumentative Essay On Declining Fish
Over fishing our waters is causing a great deal of concern amongst environmentalist and commercial
fishermen. According to the Declining Fish Stock video, the average commercial fishermen s catch is
about 20,000 pounds. This has been estimated to equal a couple hundred fish per day per vessel
(Declining Fish, 2007). Some studies indicate that commercial fishing fleets have stripped the ocean
waters of at least 90 percent of its big fish (Declining Fish, 2007). This has begun to cause heavy
competition between commercial fishermen who are left competing for the other 10 percent of the
remaining fish population (Declining Fish, 2007).
Studies indicate that our oceans are not as resilient as we had once believed (Declining Fish, 2007).
According to Dr. Jeremy Jackson of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, we will never again be
able to fish our waters at the level that we have been over the last half century (Declining Fish, 2007).
Dr. Jackson also states that over fishing is more destructive to the ocean waters than toxic pollution or
degrading water quality (Declining Fish, 2007). This is a frightening thought and seems to have
environmentalists and commercial fishermen at each other s throats.
When asked if the damage to the fish population is at a level of completion, Dr. Jackson said that the
damage was near completion but that the damage could be reversed if we take much needed drastic
measures to ensure that these fish have a chance to repopulate (Declining Fish,

Loggerhead Sea Turtles: Effects of climate change on the population of sea turtles.
Abstract
The effects of climate change and global warming have severe effects on loggerhead sea turtles and
various other marine mammals. The rate of climate change goes far beyond the abilities of animals to
adapt to these drastic changes taking place around them in their habitats. These changes are predicted
to cause an extinction of many species over the next few decades. (SEE Turtles, 2015) The sea level
rises from melting glaciers, and ice caps are already resulting in the loss of nesting grounds of these
loggerhead turtles. Extreme weather that is also linked to climate change result in a chance for more
severe storms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Feldman et al. 2015) This in turn not only affects the temperatures on land, but also the oceans that
are home to many cetaceans (i.e. Dolphins and whales) as well as other marine life such as seals, and
turtles. Climate change is an issue that is linked to human influences.
The loggerhead sea turtle is an endangered species exposed to many anthropogenic hazards in the
Pacific. It is believed that pelagic longline fisheries pose one of the major risks for these loggerheads
but the effects such as human
induced global climate change have rarely been considered. (Chaloupka,
Kamezaki Limpus, 2008)
The effects of climate change have enormous impacts on sea turtles. One of them being that the rise in
sea level will disrupt turtle nesting beaches. Sea turtles usually return to the same site where they
hatch to repeat their ancient nesting ritual. These direct impacts of polar caps melting, and sea levels
rising, these beaches that were once nesting grounds are starting to disappear completely.

Out of necessity this also includes other human persons and human community. The Pope s
understanding of personalism found its practical application in his ethics: the indispensable role of
freedom, the fulfillment of freedom in the loving gift of self to others and the effect that moral choices
have on the person who makes them. These few attributes were the ones that made him the person he
was. It all came from the love he has received from his closest family, his brother and parents, of
whom all three have died by the time he was 22 years old. Personalism is so central to Karol Wojtyla s
internal psychological and spiritual structure, that it overflows into his theology. An example of that is
his divine revelation as the personal messenger of God to all people. This also ties in with the
quintessential congregation of two personal realities, one of which is human and one divine. It also
covers various aspects of the religious freedom of the human person, social ethics, grace and human
sexuality. John Paul II was much disciplined in all these matters and shared the love to oneself and
others.
His theology and philosophy reached however even further than his religion. Despite his lack of
interest in politics, he has met and spoken to leaders of many countries. This was most

The Epic Quest For Oil, Money, And Power
The United States, once the world s largest producer and still its largest consumer, must import half of
its oil supply, weakening its overall strategic position and adding greatly to an already burdensome
trade deficit a precarious position for a great power (Yergin 14). So said Daniel Yergin in the prologue
of his 1990 bestseller The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power. Today, oil retains its
importance in the hydrocarbon societies of developed and developing countries as a major engine of
economic growth, but the story is not so simple. When Yergin wrote The Prize, the United States
seemed to be on an inevitable path toward instability and crisis as domestic reserves, long depleted,
forced oil imports and exports around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comparing this to the world oil price in that same time period, there seems to be an overall positive
relationship between oil price and imports and exports. The price rises about $50/barrel over three
years until a sudden spike in 2007 2008, then drops dramatically before sharply rising again (Figure
2). The drop in total imports and exports in 2012 does not seem to be correlated with price, since there
is an upward trend in price from 2009 2013. Aside from that year, it appears that there is an overall
positive correlation between total imports and exports of oil and the price of oil, suggesting that
because oil is an essential commodity, demand is much more inelastic than supply. Thus, imports rise
when prices are high even though it is disadvantageous for importers because exporters are willing to
provide a larger quantity and importers are less sensitive to price.
To analyze whether this is true for individual countries requires further breaking down of the data. The
United States, Japan, China, South Korea, India, and Germany are almost always in the top six for
importers and Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates are almost always in
the top five for exporters, with the bottom half of the top ten importers and exporters varying year by
year. The top importers tend to be more static than the top exporters; that is, there are only about
eleven countries that switch up between the ten importing spots over that period whereas

Why Does Evolution Happen
The theory of evolution is a change over time to help the species survive due to natural selection.
(survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened after a
creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens. Adaptation is
the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and reproduce. Physical
change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size of the finches beaks, or
the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the other type of adaptation.
Whales used to be land animals, but eventually changed their behavior and became water animals so
they could find food. Evolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whales couldn t find any food on land so they adapted their behavior and eventually the way they
look to survive in water. Each couple million years the fossils change. Whales started off looking sort
of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point whales almost
looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws to webbed feet to
fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted early on because some of
them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to hunt some fish. They were most
likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved to make it easier. Whale evolution
supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils, and how they changed. Also, you see
the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of this you see what they looked like, where
they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a fossil record of whales because of the rock
layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says that any undisturbed sequence of rocks
deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at those layers to create a fossil record. You can
use absolute and relative dating to find the age of any fossil. Scientists used half life of some type of
chemical to find the absolute age of a whale fossil. Also, they looked at fossils and whale relatives to
find relative age, like some

Drama Improvisation
Drama Essay
To be good at improvisation, it doesn t really matter how talented you are, but more about giving it
your best shot
Improvisation is the art of being able to create ideas in a split second, with little or no warning as to
what you are making up. In drama the art of improvisation, and being a good improviser, is absolutely
essential. However, there are many different views on what it takes to be good at improvisation. To be
good at improvisation, it relies very little on how talented the actor is, but more importantly, it relies
on them trying they re very hardest to be a good improviser, on them giving it their best shot. This can
be determined by how hard the actor is concentrating, on wether or not they have knowledge ... Show
more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Above all other factors of improvisation, having knowledge of the basics is absolutely vital. This is
knowing about the concept of make, accept, extend . This is where one person makes the offer, it is
accepted by another, and then is extended by the actors playing out the scene. An excellent example of
this was shown in class today, during an improvisation game. One group set up a scene for another
group to act in (this was where the offer was made), and in this scenario, it was a game show. Straight
away, the group that was acting picked up on what scenario they had been put into (this was where the
offer had been accepted) and continued on with the scene without hesitation (this was where the offer
was extended). Another excellent, and hilarious example of make, accept, extend was when in class,
we acted out the scenario of waiting at a bus stop. Jerrah had acted out that she was pregnant and in
labour. Suddenly, Gabby decided she would be the baby. Jerrah had to quickly accept the offer made
by Gabby, which she did, and they both extended it in an incredibly hilarious fashion.
Another important factor of improvisation is the idea of giving it your best shot to interact with your
fellow actors. Without interacting with one another, there could be no scene, no scenario, nothing at
all. When tyring your very best to interact with your fellow actors, improvisation is definitely at it s
best. This was seen during our

The School For Prison Pipeline
Tomorrow s future is in the hands of the youth of today is not a particularly new sentiment. But what
is new, what has become a pressing question, is what is to become of the future if our youth are behind
bars instead of in schools? Youth today are being pushed into the criminal justice system at an
alarming rate. This issue is known as the school to prison pipeline ─ the rapid rate at which children
are pushed out of schools and into the criminal justice system. The school to prison pipeline is a term
that came into use by activists in the late 1970 s and has gained recognition throughout the years as the
issue became more prominent in the 1990 s. Some activists view policies meant to correct
misbehaviors, especially in regards to Zero Tolerance policies and the policing of schools, as a major
contributor to the pipeline. Others believe that the funding of schools and the education standards are
to blame for the rapid increase of youth incarcerations. While the school to prison pipeline affects
every student, African American students, both male and female, are more often the victim of
discrimination in education. The school to prison pipeline must end, and the trend must be reversed.
Proponents of change have noted that the school to prison pipeline has been perpetrated by harsh
discipline guidelines and policies placed in schools. Russell J. Skiba, Ph.D., a Professor in Counseling
and Educational Psychology at Indiana University, defined Zero Tolerance policies as

Toward a New Trilateral Strategic Security Relationship: United States, Canada, and Mexico
The article Toward a New Trilateral Strategic Security Relationship written by Richard J. Kilroy, Jr.,
Abelardo Rodríguez Sumano and Todd S. Hataley, published in the Journal of Strategic Security;
introduces the idea(s) of a trilateral strategic security relationship between the United States, Canada,
and Mexico. The term trilateral means to involve or share three parties, therefore this is a perfect term
to use when it comes to creating a strategic security plan between the three countries discussed in this
paper.
The Trilateral Commission has three separate regions: European, North American, and Asia Pacific; it
created in the early 1970 s, as a way to increase global interdependence. Trilateral summits have taken
place globally between said countries in regards to the security issues each country is perceptible to as
far as acts of terror, natural disasters and/or epidemic issues. Trilateral commissions are non
governmental, policy oriented groups that focus on discussion. The sole purpose of a trilateral
commission is to encourage an understanding and mutual aid among the three regions that make up
said commission on shared global issues. The United States, Canada, and Mexico make up the North

Case Herman Miller
Introduction
Herman Miller is an American company that was founded in 1905 in Zeeland, Michigan as the Star
Furniture Co. They are the major American company of office furniture and equipment. In 1919 Dirk
Jan De Pree became the president of the company and renamed the company The Michigan Star
Furniture Co. Then Dirk and his father Herman Miller buy 51% of the company in 1923 and renamed
Herman Miller Furniture Company, and in 1960 became Herman Miller Inc.
They started selling quality furniture, bedrooms and other things made of wood but in 1930 because of
the Great depression they started to look for other market and products so the company could survive
this economic situation that affect all the US. Because of this they started ... Show more content on

But in the long term the distribution channels would be clear and without interferences again. Also it
would be possible to have a clear marketing direction and therefore planning is possible again in the
future without interferences of the different distributors with each others. That would practicably mean
that Vreni should decide to get out of the contract of Asal Products, Inc. even when there would be
legal problems. Moreover, the business relationships to this company could be worsened in the long
run.
Another alternative should be to create a plant in Europe so now they don t have top ay all the taxes
they have to pay so they can export their products, in that way they will be able to give better prices to
their clients, and they will supposed to have a better service and more quality because they where the
pioneers in those products.
The last alternative could be to create a better marketing about their products, to compare their brand
with the competition so the market can understand that the differences between prices is because of
the good quality, the brand name, the knowledge, and that they are the only ones, the expert ones on
those kind of products.
Finally we think that a great alternative also could be to open a new market, for example if the
competitors are taking some of the market that they used to have when they

Analysis Of The Book Hello Comrades
Hello comrades, this is a journal to document my story and the stories of my companions as we fought
for the freedom of all species who live in this world. The purpose of the journal is also to provide
information in regards to the locations of bases and strongholds. For those of you who know me now,
the beginning of my tale may be difficult to believe because I was a much different person all those
years ago. If you are a total stranger to myself and my cause, you will learn the best ways of
contacting the resistance and getting this to their leader if I am gone. All of these events were
witnessed by me and added to by others that were there with me. I will begin my story on the day that
my life changed forever, the day on which I nearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of going to my room, I entered the supply closet that opened out onto the main deck. Now for
those of you who know nothing of my past, it may come as a surprise to you that I was very passive in
my youth. I never acted first, I always reacted to my surroundings but it all changed with The
Paradise. As I stood behind that door fearing for my life, I came to the conclusion that I could die that
day, that everything I had ever known would end and I would be forced into whatever came next.
They re trying to board us Captain, what do we do? a crew member near the door asked. Before the
captain responded, a voice carried clearly from the other ship. We are the King s men, prepare to be
boarded, someone from the privateer said. At this I naively believed that we were all safe. I should
have known better but I blame my upbringing that I was not able to anticipate what would happen
next. I felt a dull thud reverberate along the wooden floor of the door frame. The four men that came
aboard first were all armed with crossbows slung across their backs and swords at their belts. They
were followed by a man in armor who had only a sword. The man who appeared to be the captain of
the other vessel approached the center of the ship as his men spread out, gathering all members of the
crew near the

Grapevine Personal Statement
One reason I would like to Volunteer at Baylor Scott White in Grapevine Is to get exposure to
different medical fields inside the hospital. I know that this program is not a shadowing opportunity or
anything of that nature. However, every time I step foot in a hospital I get extremely excited and ready
to go to medical school. I am not only doing this for the experience though. One of the things that
brings me the most joy in life is being able to help people. In fact, that is one of the reason s I want to
go into the medical field. Something I hope to gain from this experience is learning more about the
hospital environment. Once again I know this isn t a job shadowing opportunity but being able to be
inside the hospital, I can potentially still learn a lot from observing my surroundings. Another thing I
would like to be able to gain from this experience is to learn even more people skills than I already
know. I have a job so I do have the people skills necessary to work, but I would love to learn more
people skills and maybe some that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I m a student athlete and so I know what it is like to be busy and to be stressed out. I work very well in
high stress situations and I m very calm when I need to be. Is emergency medicine does not work out
then I would also love to be a physician s assistant inside the emergency room. wall I m in college,
getting my bachelors degree I would love to do part time EMT work. I think that this would give me
great experience before going into medical school and potentially working in the emergency room. It
would give me an opportunity to have a high paced job that can give me knowledge that would be
necessary to work in the emergency room but also not be the exact same thing as working there. If I do
get accepted for this volunteer opportunity I would love to be able to ask questions about what path I
should take to get to these goals of

Almost everyone has surge protection power strips in their home for TVs and computers. However,
strips shouldn t be considered a primary protective device, but rather are a last line of defense in a
surge protection system. In addition, it s essential to realize surge protection strips provide no
protection at all for the electrical system, but only to the electronics plugged in to it. Only whole house

In The Flea, the speaker is taking the approach of comparing the act to the happenings of a flea that bit both the speaker and the woman. Low Velocity Impact and Impact after Compression in Cork Based Composite material ABSTRACT: Experiments are carried out in the investigation to find out the role of cork as an ideal core material, which is used as a shield plate in the front of land military vehicles to verify the energy absorption and damage tolerance. Composite materials are used in various industries these days due to its high strength to weight ratio putting them into light weight applications. Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion Method is chosen to manufacture the laminate. Specimens are cut according to American Society for Testing and Materials Standards are used. Low velocity impact is carried out on the specimens to observe the energy absorption capabilities of the specimens with two different testing variables i.e., energy level and amount of the viscoelastic material. Afterwards, Compression after Impact test is carried out to study the Damage tolerance of the impacted specimen. The study of all the results from the above tests shows us the energy absorption and damage tolerance with the presence of cork as a core material. Further studies can be done in different energy levels, different viscoelastic materials and also different fibres and resins. In the poems, Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess , both written by Robert Browning, each speaker mentions a woman whom they had once known. The poems, being considered as dramatic monologues, depict a particular role that women have through the eyes of speaker. Browning keeps the speakers mysterious, but lets out their true characters through the use of the women in each of their lives. Each speaker brings their own eerie tone to the poem which adds to the mysteriousness of their characters. Browning uses the women as a way for the obsessive qualities of both speakers to shine through. These women are not very important actors in the poem, but Browning uses these women to create a sense of the speakers by how and what they say pertaining to these women. The plot line of Porphyria s Lover starts off calm, but ends up to be quite gruesome. The woman, Porphyria, comes in from rainy weather and makes herself at home, and let her damp hair fall, / And, at last, she sat down by my side (Lines 14 15). The beginning of the poem holds a seemingly romantic quality. There is a sense of familiarity between the two. He spends his time waiting in a cottage for her in more than one way. The Korean War With the elimination of the Japanese threat by 1945, the demoralization of the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) in 1949, and the conclusion of the Korean War by 1953, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the party s leader, Mao Zedong, internalized efforts and re established order within the People s Republic of China (PRC). Under Mao s leadership, the PRC experienced immediate and influential reforms ⎯ most notably the Hundred Flowers Campaign, the Great Leap Forward, and the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution ⎯ that benefitted the PRC at first, but later steered the nation to unprecedented political, social, and economic turmoil. By 1976, the year of his death, Mao had left China in widespread chaos and civil unrest with millions of Chinese dead, starving, and impoverished. By 1979, Chinese statesman Deng Xiaoping emerged to become China s undisputed leader after defeating Hua Guofeng, Mao s chosen successor. With his superior political skills and decades of experience, Deng engineered vital economic, political, social reforms that would help restore China from the amounting unrest Mao established between 1957 and 1976. However, similar to Mao, Deng also confronted opposition and problematic events that tarnished his legacy. Ultimately, not only did Mao s aspirations for China fail to completely coincide with reality, but also the aftermath of his ideals produced unwarranted consequences. Plato was imprisoned because he taught philosophy to people and he is credible for not doing wrong. In King?s ?Letter from Birmingham Jail?, it is credible because it is known that Martin Luther King Jr. is a very credible person in the civil rights movement. Credibility strikes to be an important part of this claim. The logical part of the rhetorical appeals refers mainly to the specific facts as evidence. From ?Letter from Birmingham? a good logical claim, made by Martin Luther King Jr., supports and explains how his race was treated as inferior and being persecuted. He utilizes examples of how racial injustice became a huge problem. This quote by William Shakespeare certainly holds true to author Liam O Flaherty, who had defiantly achieved greatness. Irish author Liam O Flaherty was born August 28, 1897, on a small island off the coast of Ireland. O Flaherty was famous for the short stories he wrote during the Irish Renaissance, a time around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. However, writing was not all that O Flaherty had worked as: a lumberjack, deckhand, dishwasher, bank clerk, and as a miner were various vocations he had been employed in. He had also traveled across several countries, some being the United States, Canada, and several others throughout South America. O Flaherty also served in World War I after abandoning his quest for priesthood (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2015). Sadly, on September 1, 1984, Liam O Flaherty died at the age of 87, but he left behind an incredible collection of written works for people around the world to enjoy. One popular short story that Liam O Flaherty wrote was The Sniper . This story takes place in the city of Dublin, the present day capital of Ireland, amidst the Irish Civil War. • 29. Gun Control Policies Applied To Rational And Group Theory... Short Analysis of Gun Control Policies Applied to Rational and Group Theory Models In 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School was victim of a terrible mass shooting that prompted several states and cities to pass strict gun control measures. This sparked a widely debated and controversial issue for gun friendly states in the South and West, who responded with bills that would strengthen Stand Your Ground laws and allow weapons in most public places. The nation continues to be divided on gun control policies, as it is very controversial and continues to be a very hot topic in society today. There has been a rise in gun violence throughout the years, and it has been widely been debated that guns are too easily accessible and there is a continued push for stricter gun laws that can reduce the risk of gun violence. This paper will focus on the implementation of two models of public policy; Group Model and Rational Model. Group Theory begins with, the proposition that interaction among groups is the central fact of politics. Group Theory is when individuals with common interests band together formally or informally to press their demands upon government, a shared attitude group that makes certain claims upon other groups in society (Dye, p. 26). Additionally, this paper will apply the rational model to gun control policies. Rational policy, as defined by Dye, is a policy that gives the majority of society what they want. It has emphasis on achieving maximum social gain (Dye, p.30) Group Theory Model The group theory model, as defined by Dye, reflects that there is power in numbers and that the influence of a group can be determined by numbers, wealth, organizational strength, access to decision makers and internal cohesion (Dye, p.27). As the federal government moves to make strict gun control laws and policies one extremely influential group has had overwhelming success in slowing the process of these policies. That powerful group is known as the National Rifle Association, a group founded in 1871 that has a focus on promoting and encouraging rifle shooting. The NRA, already a large mass of like minded people, has been influencing policy makers for decades via sending letters and eventually developing a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Argumentative Essay On Declining Fish Over fishing our waters is causing a great deal of concern amongst environmentalist and commercial fishermen. According to the Declining Fish Stock video, the average commercial fishermen s catch is about 20,000 pounds. This has been estimated to equal a couple hundred fish per day per vessel (Declining Fish, 2007). Some studies indicate that commercial fishing fleets have stripped the ocean waters of at least 90 percent of its big fish (Declining Fish, 2007). This has begun to cause heavy competition between commercial fishermen who are left competing for the other 10 percent of the remaining fish population (Declining Fish, 2007). Studies indicate that our oceans are not as resilient as we had once believed (Declining Fish, 2007). According to Dr. Jeremy Jackson of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, we will never again be able to fish our waters at the level that we have been over the last half century (Declining Fish, 2007). Dr. Jackson also states that over fishing is more destructive to the ocean waters than toxic pollution or degrading water quality (Declining Fish, 2007). This is a frightening thought and seems to have environmentalists and commercial fishermen at each other s throats. When asked if the damage to the fish population is at a level of completion, Dr. Jackson said that the damage was near completion but that the damage could be reversed if we take much needed drastic measures to ensure that these fish have a chance to repopulate (Declining Fish, ... Abstract The effects of climate change and global warming have severe effects on loggerhead sea turtles and various other marine mammals. The rate of climate change goes far beyond the abilities of animals to adapt to these drastic changes taking place around them in their habitats. These changes are predicted to cause an extinction of many species over the next few decades. (Feldman et al. 2015) This in turn not only affects the temperatures on land, but also the oceans that are home to many cetaceans (i.e. Dolphins and whales) as well as other marine life such as seals, and turtles. Climate change is an issue that is linked to human influences. The loggerhead sea turtle is an endangered species exposed to many anthropogenic hazards in the Pacific. It is believed that pelagic longline fisheries pose one of the major risks for these loggerheads but the effects such as human induced global climate change have rarely been considered. (Chaloupka, Kamezaki Limpus, 2008) The effects of climate change have enormous impacts on sea turtles. One of them being that the rise in sea level will disrupt turtle nesting beaches. Sea turtles usually return to the same site where they hatch to repeat their ancient nesting ritual. These direct impacts of polar caps melting, and sea levels rising, these beaches that were once nesting grounds are starting to disappear completely. The Pope s understanding of personalism found its practical application in his ethics: the indispensable role of freedom, the fulfillment of freedom in the loving gift of self to others and the effect that moral choices have on the person who makes them. These few attributes were the ones that made him the person he was. It all came from the love he has received from his closest family, his brother and parents, of whom all three have died by the time he was 22 years old. Personalism is so central to Karol Wojtyla s internal psychological and spiritual structure, that it overflows into his theology. An example of that is his divine revelation as the personal messenger of God to all people. This also ties in with the quintessential congregation of two personal realities, one of which is human and one divine. It also covers various aspects of the religious freedom of the human person, social ethics, grace and human sexuality. The Epic Quest For Oil, Money, And Power The United States, once the world s largest producer and still its largest consumer, must import half of its oil supply, weakening its overall strategic position and adding greatly to an already burdensome trade deficit a precarious position for a great power (Yergin 14). So said Daniel Yergin in the prologue of his 1990 bestseller The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power. Today, oil retains its importance in the hydrocarbon societies of developed and developing countries as a major engine of economic growth, but the story is not so simple. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comparing this to the world oil price in that same time period, there seems to be an overall positive relationship between oil price and imports and exports. The price rises about $50/barrel over three years until a sudden spike in 2007 2008, then drops dramatically before sharply rising again (Figure 2). The drop in total imports and exports in 2012 does not seem to be correlated with price, since there is an upward trend in price from 2009 2013. Aside from that year, it appears that there is an overall positive correlation between total imports and exports of oil and the price of oil, suggesting that because oil is an essential commodity, demand is much more inelastic than supply. Thus, imports rise when prices are high even though it is disadvantageous for importers because exporters are willing to provide a larger quantity and importers are less sensitive to price. To analyze whether this is true for individual countries requires further breaking down of the data. The United States, Japan, China, South Korea, India, and Germany are almost always in the top six for importers and Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates are almost always in the top five for exporters, with the bottom half of the top ten importers and exporters varying year by year. (survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened after a creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens. Adaptation is the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and reproduce. Physical change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size of the finches beaks, or the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the other type of adaptation. Whales used to be land animals, but eventually changed their behavior and became water animals so they could find food. Evolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whales started off looking sort of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point whales almost looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws to webbed feet to fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted early on because some of them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to hunt some fish. They were most likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved to make it easier. Whale evolution supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils, and how they changed. Also, you see the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of this you see what they looked like, where they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a fossil record of whales because of the rock layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says that any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at those layers to create a fossil record. Above all other factors of improvisation, having knowledge of the basics is absolutely vital. This is knowing about the concept of make, accept, extend . This is where one person makes the offer, it is accepted by another, and then is extended by the actors playing out the scene. An excellent example of this was shown in class today, during an improvisation game. One group set up a scene for another group to act in (this was where the offer was made), and in this scenario, it was a game show. Straight away, the group that was acting picked up on what scenario they had been put into (this was where the offer had been accepted) and continued on with the scene without hesitation (this was where the offer was extended). Another excellent, and hilarious example of make, accept, extend was when in class, we acted out the scenario of waiting at a bus stop. Jerrah had acted out that she was pregnant and in labour. Suddenly, Gabby decided she would be the baby. Jerrah had to quickly accept the offer made by Gabby, which she did, and they both extended it in an incredibly hilarious fashion. Another important factor of improvisation is the idea of giving it your best shot to interact with your fellow actors. But what is new, what has become a pressing question, is what is to become of the future if our youth are behind bars instead of in schools? Youth today are being pushed into the criminal justice system at an alarming rate. This issue is known as the school to prison pipeline ─ the rapid rate at which children are pushed out of schools and into the criminal justice system. The school to prison pipeline is a term that came into use by activists in the late 1970 s and has gained recognition throughout the years as the issue became more prominent in the 1990 s. Some activists view policies meant to correct misbehaviors, especially in regards to Zero Tolerance policies and the policing of schools, as a major contributor to the pipeline. Others believe that the funding of schools and the education standards are to blame for the rapid increase of youth incarcerations. While the school to prison pipeline affects every student, African American students, both male and female, are more often the victim of discrimination in education. The school to prison pipeline must end, and the trend must be reversed. Also it would be possible to have a clear marketing direction and therefore planning is possible again in the future without interferences of the different distributors with each others. That would practicably mean that Vreni should decide to get out of the contract of Asal Products, Inc. even when there would be legal problems. Moreover, the business relationships to this company could be worsened in the long run.
