The Imagery Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare
The imagery of Macbeth institutes a dark, evil aura that surrounds nearly every aspect of the play.
Images of evil beings, murder, as well as the natural and supernatural help to set this sinister mood
throughout the play. The three witches are a dominant source of evil in Macbeth. They are the first
characters introduced, emphasizing their significance in the play as well as their aura of darkness.
Their first meeting takes place in thunder and lightening, a dark, chaotic, and dangerous environment,
which sets the tone and atmosphere for the rest of the play . They also use a multitude of paradoxical
and contradictory statements, indicating a sense of deception (1.1.2 10). They say that the battle,
referring to the battle between Scotland, led by Banquo and Macbeth, and the armies of Ireland and
Norway, will be ere the set of sun, (1.1.5). The witches mean that this battle will be finished by the
time the sun has set, leaving any following events to occur in darkness. In their second meeting, their
evil and power is accentuated when they describe their actions; killing swine and wrecking the ships
of sailors (1.3. 2 30). This foreshadow s the dark consequences of their meeting with Macbeth.
Furthermore, the witches act as Macbeth s stimulus into a descent into evil. The witches take
advantage of Macbeth s covert desire for power, and influence him to fulfill his own prophecy, to
quench their own desire for a world of chaos. The line, All hail Macbeth that shalt be King

Clarifying The Digestive s Procedure Framework
My name is Anson and today I will be clarifying the digestive s procedure framework.
We start with the mouth, in the feature, I am chewing on a bit of bread from a sandwich, the sandwich
softens up two distinct ways, mechanical and concoction absorption. Mechanically, teeth are utilized
to bite sustenance into little pieces and blend it with salivation with the tongue s assistance. The
tongue then sends this pounded up sandwich down the throat to the stomach. Synthetically, Salivary
organs in the mouth produce spit, containing the protein amylase to separate starch, is blended with
sustenance, making it gentler and smoother prepared for its adventure down to the stomach.
So now the chewed sandwich has gone down my pharynx, or throat, and

The Lottery, By Shirley Jackson
Conformity is not based mainly on containing and supporting a society, but also to dominate and
control what is within. The control of repressed individuality benefits those at the top of a power
structure. From early on, men were considered the breadwinners and women were to maintain
households; whether due to a difference in physical, emotional, or mental state; this was an
unquestioned hierarchy. Therefore, any women who pushed back were ultimately punished for
threatening the system. In The Lottery , Shirley Jackson uses literary devices of symbolism, irony, and
characterization to reveal the danger of blind obedience, and implanting the thought of resistance for
women. To an extent, conformity is necessary in reality; time has shown that laws, rules, and
regulations that are innately bad can serve as the catalyst for rebellion, as recorded for the French
Revolution, Vietnam War, and Czarist Russia. Conformity lays the groundwork for good laws to be
constructed, and until that time, men are able to abuse and utilized the current laws for their own
superior gain. One of the biggest rebellions is backed purely by feminism, where women are repressed
by men. Unfortunately, in the past not many women knew their true value, and were prematurely
silenced; however, Jackson is revealing the reality of the restraints.
The author utilizes symbolism throughout her storyline to great effect. The physical properties, the
black box, the slips of paper, the placing of the box on the

Essay On Surveillance
Justice is dead, extinct, eradicated by those who seek monetary gain as opposed to altruism. Why
would you give the people what they need as well as desire, when instead you could line your own
pockets with capital from corrupt billionaires and businesses? Society has surpassed the point of
complete saturation with these injustices, and now we are on the brink of a catastrophic dystopian
meltdown. With politicians drafting bills to monitor and control the public, government agencies
sidestepping the law in a misguided attempt to achieve justice, and a dishonest mainstream media
trying to sway the public view every step of the way, it is quite a wonder we have lasted this long.
Surveillance is the way of the future, and anyone who exhibits a dissenting opinion is labeled un

Bills are drafted and passed by those who will not live long enough to see the consequences of their
actions, and supported by those who are too powerful to be affected by such policies. When the
options are to damage the future of your community in exchange for copious bribes, or to vote against
such a proposition and be subjected to negative publicity from the supporters of the proposal, the
choice is all too obvious. Arguing that you don t care about the right to privacy because you have
nothing to hide is no different than saying you don t care about free speech because you have nothing
to say. Envision having the opportunity to exist in a society where all of your online actions were
scrutinized. Every word you type, every website you visit, every online purchase you make, all

Senator Richard Burr known as the Burr Feinstein Encryption Bill came into the public domain.

The Importance Of Employee Empowerment
Employee empowerment is important, even if you believe in a traditional type of employee
management. Empowerment of your employees has the ability to turn your organization around and
make it more successful than it previously was. In some organizations employee empowerment is
absolutely needed. They type of organizations that need employee empowerment are basically any
business that has employees who have to work together as a team. Empowerment also does not just
mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only seek
their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from management,
I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I would put dramatic
emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees who are empowered are
employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their goals(Goetsch Davis,2014).
After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment overhaul with our employees, I would
then zone in on the things that keep the organization operational.
Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from
employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed in
order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can grow
their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important.

How Did The Silk Road Affect Long Distance Trade
The Silk Road:
The Silk Road was a road used for long distance trade between countries in central Asia. As the cities
grew and flourished, long distance travel was used to share customs with other places, and trade
goods. While traveling, General Zhang discovered new plants and trees, and then introduced them to
China, so that they could adopt them and use them for their own use, and also for trade. China also
adopted a lot more crops, and put the products they received from trading to good use. Trading had a
major impact to all the countries involved in the Silk Road, especially China.
The Sasanid Empire, 224 600:
There was a lot of silver work and silk fabrics that were produced in the Sasanid Empire in Iran, and
the empire also had organized communities that were protecting long distance trade. The Sasanid
Empire also benefited from the Silk Road because they received lots of new crops. The religion
worshipped was Zoroastrianism, while Christians were persecuted because they were political rivalry
with the Byzantines. Through the Silk Road, there were missionaries that traveled to spread different

Nursing Education
1.1 AIMS OF NURSING EDUCATION This concept was taken from module 1 Introduction to
Nursing education , sub topic 1 Concepts of nursing education . Nursing education can be defined as a
practical and theoritical training given to either student nurses or nurses with the sole aim of preparing
them towards carrying out their profesional duties as nurses. In my explanation I included nurses
because nursing education is not meant for student nurses alone, even the registered nurses can still
undergo some training to help them upgrade themselves and give effective nursing care to their
patients. Nursing education can also be defined as a professional education which is delibrately
planned and carried out through instructions and discipline for the purpose of physical, social,

Mandatory Health Insurance
Mandatory Insurance Coverage for Women s Reproductive Health
Critique of Health Policy Position Statements
All people in America should have a right to health care benefits and services considering health care
is at the center of the national agenda. Mandatory health care insurance is a system that pays the cost
of health care for those who are enrolled and in which enrollment is required for all members of a
population. Insurance works by people pooling together their risks of incurring expenses, not knowing
whether they will file claims but choosing to insure for the emotional and financial security coverage

Recommendations on women s preventive health care, including contraception, have been developed
by a panel of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) after the reforms were enacted and became binding for
many plans. There is need to prioritize the aspect of guidance from the government to the insurers
concerning the plans owing to the complexity of reproductive health matters including on preventive
matters. Preventive services requirements include a wide array of services beyond contraceptive care
that are central to the sexual and reproductive health of women but the biggest challenge is how much
the public will learn about other preventive care services that these same plans must also cover
without patient cost sharing. Reproductive health isn t all about treatment. Prevention, counseling, and
checkups matter as well, and they should be covered comprehensively by sealing all the loopholes that

LDCT Screening
According to recent studies at Indiana Universty School of Medicine, alternative methods for
detecting non small cell lung cancer are emerging. The current methods of detecting NSCLC may be
effective, but they are also very expensive. One method called a low dose computed tomography
(LDCT) has been successful in identifying malignant tumors. However, routine LDCT screenings
would result in 1.3 to 2 billion dollars nationally in health care costs annually. Deig, Mendonca, and
Lautenschlaeger suggest that pursuing other methods of screening for NSCLC would significantly
decrease this cost. If screenings could be conducted in a cost efficient and effective manner, then the
expensive LDCT procedure would only have to be conducted for patients who ... Show more content

Biomarkers are natural indicators in the body that respond noticeably to the presence of disease. By
measuring the responses of biomarkers, oncologists detect the cancerous cells before recommending
expensive procedures, rather than immediately resorting to these procedures. One of these biomarkers
that responds to the presence of cancerous cells is microRNA. MicroRNAs are molecules that are
involved in the cell life cycle and therefore the progression of cancerous cells. A study in cancer
patients was conducted to compare the accuracy of screening with microRNAs to screening with
LDCT. Observing microRNAs did not prove to be as accurate at identifying cancer as LDCT, but
since using microRNAs is a less expensive process, it can identify patients that should undergo LCDT
testing. Screening with microRNA testing initially would decrease the number of patients paying for
LCDT testing. Another biomarker that can be observed in response to cancer is ct DNA. Ct DNA
refers to fragments of DNA from tumors found circulating in the blood stream. A recent study
indicated that observing ct DNA could have multiple useful applications for oncologists. Ct DNA
analysis during treatment could serve as an indication of how tumors react to treatment methods and
whether recurrence is likely. Detecting ct DNA in the bloodstream could even serve as an early sign of
cancer, observable before imaging tests even show tumors. However, ct DNA analysis has not yet
proved to be a replacement for LDCT

Essay On Why College Football Should Be Banned
College Football should be banned for lots of reasons. Why this sport should be banned is that college
football is a distraction on the athlete s studies and takes away their critical knowledge about the real
world, but also school work and what is important in life. Another reason why college football should
be banned is players could get injured severely. For examples, concussions, broken spin, injuries that
keeps them for not doing anything in life. College football also makes school more expensive than it
should be.

full scholarships. College football, and basketball players get a lot of amount of money its around
hundred thousand dollars for housing, living off or on campus, and supplies for school (Blackistone
2014). It s not fair for college football players that don t do has much school work a normal student
would do daily. College athletes and regular students should have the same rules same accountability
the school demands (Blackistone 2014). Another big part why college football should be banned is
that programs take money from college students that pay for class pay for meals pay everything they
do on campus just as student fees and funds and Student athletes get everything for free not have to
pull out their own wallets (Bissinger 2012). When college football coaches take millions of dollars
they are also making the school more and more expensive for the students that must pay to attended to
that university or college there are at (bissinger 2012). Students that go to school just go for education
don t have any athletic ability to play college football and get that opportunity to have to that. Every

Unnatural Thankfulness In Nicaragua
A wave of joy and laughter dances around me as I sit with what seems to be an endless amount of

to eat his arm. I join the children in amusement then to comment, Friends are not food, like in the
movie Nemo remember? Friends are not food, oo ha ha . I began to laugh expectant of the children to
join, only to find blank stares and confused expressions. I quickly realize that they aren t laughing

It s unfortunate that to simply become grateful I had to travel to a third world country and live with the

everything they could ever want or need. I became angry at school when kids complained about
seemingly insignificant things. I would think to myself, that chicken you refuse to eat because it is too

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad vs. Things Fall Apart...
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe are two novellas
written to make a statement about the struggles of early societies. Both stories stir up moments of
hope, anger, disappointment, despair, and enlightenment in an attempt to inform the reader of the
injustices and societal differences during the 1800 s. Heart of Darkness tells the story from a European
Colonist perspective while Things Fall Apart illustrates the outlook of the African tribe member being
colonized. Throughout this piece I will investigate these unique texts in hopes of revealing the

realizes that his clan is not willing to go to war. Soon after the murder, Okonkwo prideful character,
and inability to accept defeat, results in his suicide. Heart of Darkness and Things Fall Apart
exemplify two different perspectives of African Literature. In Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad
shows the African Culture through the eyes of the white man or colonizing Europeans. In this story the
native Africans are depicted as vicious savages.
In response to Conrad s stereotypical depiction of Africans, Chinua Achebe wrote Things Fall Apart
through the point of view of the natives to show Africans, not as primitives, but as members of a
thriving society. Things Fall Apart follows Okonkwo s life as he strives for prestige in his community.

Fahrenheit 451 Research Paper
Fahrenheit 451: Burning Books or Burning People?
The Jaws Effect is a term used to express the experience a group goes through after a piece of media
misrepresents them. This phrase was coined after the infamous 1975 cult film Jaws inspired a nation
wide shark hunt that resulted in many species becoming endangered or almost extinct. Many classic
novels are a contributor to this phenomenon; Catcher in the Rye alone has inspired at least four
assassination attempts on public figures due to its messages about how wrong society apparently is.
The root of the Jaws Effect lies within the age old notion that fiction affects reality; a notion that has
obviously has proved itself to be true. Representation of any group can be crucial in influential media;
a positive or negative depiction can be the difference of how society views a minority, group, or
organization. So, why is it that our education system continues to push for students to read books ...

The messages about censorship are things we as a society should be made aware of, and some its
points about becoming too reliant on technology do make a good argument. The problem that lies
within Fahrenheit 451, as a highly influential book that is still read in classrooms today, is that it sends
the wrong messages about oppression, which is harmful to everyone. Those in positions of power then
have misconstrued perceptions about theirs and other s places in the world, and those who are apart of
minority groups get told, yet again, that their anger towards their discrimination is unjustified.
Considering this novel is so highly influential, the fact that this is a prevalent theme is quite harmful.
Fahrenheit 451, while an American classic, should be treated with a much more scrutinizing eye when
being taught or read. Its discriminatory themes should be called out and made apparent as so the
audience will not unconsciously internalize them without analyzing their real life

Analysis Of Jane Austen s Persuasion
Perfection in Austen s Persuasion Jane Austen is know for writing sympathetic but realistically flawed
female characters. Elizabeth Bennet is witty but prideful, Emma Woodhouse is well meaning but
frightfully un observant, and overcoming these flaws is what drives these characters arcs throughout
their respective books. Yet in Austen s novel, Persuasion, at first, Anne Elliot seems as if she is the
perfect woman. She is a woman of birth, beauty, and mind, (Austen 20), she manages to be liked by
nearly everyone she meets, and she was the only one to keep a calm head when Louisa fell in Lyme
(79). However ideal she may seem though, she is not flawless. Anne Elliot s greatest fault is that she

Yet besides a simple suggestion that it is the woman s job to look after the children, Anne doesn t tell
Mary that her behavior is egotistical, and actually uses Mary s outburst to avoid seeing Captain
Wentworth by suggesting that she herself will look after the child (41). Anne does not challenge Mary
s poor behavior even when it is blatantly selfish and even compromises with her in order to further
avoid a different type of confrontation. This is not the only time that one of Anne s family members
acts disagreeable in such an obvious fashion. Her father s character is so shallow that he only cares
about looks and rank (4), rarely acts in a way that is not displeasing or ridiculous to the reader, and has
overspent all of his money and is now in debt (8). Austen even states that Sir. Walter has no affection
for Anne, (175) his own daughter. He goes so far as to make fun of the appearance of a man who
served in the navy (15). We as the reader can see that Sir. Walter has no redeemable qualities, and yet
Anne does not stand up to him when he disproves of her engagement with Wentworth when she is
younger (20). Austen does say that, it might have been possible to withstand her [Anne s] father s ill
will, (21) and it is ultimately Lady Russel that convinces Anne to sever the relationship, but young

What Does Skiing Mean To Me Essay
All year long I am constantly doing some sort of sport or outdoor activity. I love being active. If I had
to choose just one I would without a doubt choose skiing. Skiing for me is more than a sport or hobby.
It is an escape. It relaxes, calms and creates an environment that is unlike any other. That feeling of
speed as the wind hits my face is so thrilling.
I started skiing when I was just five. I started taking lessons and really learning the basics when I was
seven. When I first started skiing I did not enjoy it at all. I was cold, tired and did not like falling
down. After many lessons and skiing on my own, I started to enjoy skiing more. I skied with friends
and family a few times a year. The elementary school I attended offered a winter ski and snowboard

Pine Ski Resort in Madison, NH. We would take ski lessons offered at the mountain. During those

International Relations Essay
The first paradigm of international relations is the theory of Realism. Realism is focused on ideas of
self interest and the balance of power. Realism is also divided into two categories, classical realism
and neo realism. Famous political theorist, Hans Morgenthau was a classical realist who believed that
national interest was based on three elements, balance of power, military force, and self interest
(Kleinberg 2010, 32). He uses four levels of analysis to evaluate the power of a state. The first is that
power and influence are not always the same thing. Influence means the ability to affect the decision
of those who have the power to control outcomes and power is the ability to determine outcomes. An
example of influence and power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The power of a state is always contextual and relative. The final level of analysis Morgenthau
considers to be important is whether or not the power is legitimate and moral or if it is illegitimate and
immoral. Legitimate and moral power carries considerable weight in the international community.
However, if the power of a state is derived from illegitimate sources such as a dictatorship the
international community will be less responsive to that state, weakening its power. Weak or small
states may enter into alliances with stronger states to increase their power and influence within the
international community (Kleinberg 2010, 33 34). Morgenthau also believed that the charisma and
personality of a leader was very important when reviewing the balance of power and understanding a
state s self interest (Kleinberg 2010, 32). Realism focuses on the balance of power and how it impacts
of actions of state actors within the international political system. Morgenthau said that, The
aspirations for power on the part of several nations, each trying to either maintain or overthrow the
status quo, leads of necessity to a configuration that is called the balance of power and to policies that
aim at preserving it (Morgenthau 1967,131). He goes on by explain that not only is the balance of
power and the policies that protect it inevitable but also that they are essential for

Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence
ONE STEP TOWARDS JUSTICE:
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Right now, right at this very instant, a silent war all across the nation is being waged. A violation of
humanity, a crime that is least prosecuted, and a great threat endangering the lives of thousands of
women and children daily. Of course, I am talking about harsh reality of domestic violence. We live in
a time where domestic violence is kept a taboo subject, a shameful secret that shouldn t be let out. We
know it s happening, and even hear or see the events. But who s taking action?
I can stand here and give you a list of statistics about this issue, but is that all it is? A statistic? Sadly
enough, people look at this endless crime as just a figure or percentage, we re shocked at first but
nothing more. So today, I am taking the first step, a step towards justice, a step to end the struggle, and
a step to save our nation.
And yes, I m not anyone special, I don t study the topic, nor am I a survivor of domestic violence
myself. But I m here to tell a story. I m here to make a change. And I m here to encourage all of you to
do the same.
I m going to share an experience I had. Something that I ve regretted and hated myself for since,
knowing that help could ve been sought earlier. A few years back, I was catching up with a family
member and noticed a faint bruise on her face. Naturally, I asked her what had happened but she just
brushed it off, told me it was nothing but a sport injury. Weeks progressed, and the bruises became
worse and worse, but I stop questioning. To me, she still seemed the happy go lucky girl I knew and
loved, the only difference were these markings. But let me tell you, sometimes the people who seem

Although there were so many signs, my ignorance restrained me from helping her help herself.
Needless to say, I was absolutely disgusted. And to this day, I still can t even begin the fathom how

The Odysseus-Personal Narrative
Complete Cleansing An old crow perched on the uppermost battlements of the enormous black stone
castle. Its wise eyes gazed out at the surrounding scenery, giving the impression that it had ruled the
castle for eternity. In the courtyards and rooms below the wizened crow, the silence ruled so heavily
that it could almost be heard. Nothing had set foot within the gates in many, many years. A heavy
curse lay on the blackened stones of the might fortress, and no living thing dared venture within the
crow s watchful gaze. Jason stepped out of the woods and studied the fearsome fortress, which loomed
on a hill, many yards above his head. Jason wore a long dark coat, which barely managed to conceal
the hilt of a long sword hanging at his belt. His bright blue eyes shone out from beneath his curly dark
hair, and his right hand clutched nervously at the cluster of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As he reached the center of the courtyard his advance was halted by the sudden appearance of the
dreaded human shapes, one in each archway leading out of the large open space. He turned slowly,
counting twelve sword bearing shadows preventing his escape. Briefly, he thought about making a
dash for the tower and trying to barricade himself in, but the idea flickered and died as soon as it
appeared. Completely silent, the black shadows glided quickly towards him. They blended in perfectly
with the jet black stone walls, making them difficult to see. Jason drew his sword, nervous about his
chances. Realizing that he couldn t let all twelve of them converge on him at once, he started running
towards the tower. As he d anticipated, the shapes swerved to cut him off. The first one bore down on
him swifter than the wind. Jason blocked the first blow, and then sliced strait through the shadowy
head. His blade did no harm however, and Jason was beginning to see the dire situation he had gotten

Why I Have A Healthcare Profession
During tenth grade, I decided to have a healthcare profession. Several people in my family work in the
health field as a psychiatrist, nurse, and doctor. In my country, Haiti, the option to go to school was
very limited because it s very expensive. My father saved up enough money, so we can move to the
United States. At the age of three, we came to the U.S. and my little brother Kenley was born in this
country. I accomplished my twelve year public education in Stamford, CT. I graduated from Academy
of Information Technology Engineering high school in 2013. Throughout high school, I volunteered in
the Stamford Hospital for three years. It was a great experience to serve many different individuals.
For example, I worked in departments such as Endoscopy, Patient Transportation, Patient Registration,
Maternity, Sunshine Team, and the Surgical Weight Loss. Next, I attended a nursing program called
Southern Westchester Boces in Harrison, NY on September, 2014. In addition, I was assigned three
nursing home locations and for each place I stayed there for eight weeks. I learned nursing skills such
as vital signs (pulse, temperature, respirations, and blood pressure); administered medication;
performed injections; provided care for tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and wounds. I graduated on June
24, 2014 and it was a ten month program. After graduating from a nursing school, it s a requirement to
take the National Council Licensure Examination known as the NCLEX to receive a nursing

Abandonment In Siddhartha
In the beginning of the novel, Hesse artfully defines Siddhartha as the most intelligent, dashing young
man of his village. The untouchable Siddhartha, however, is unsatisfied with his life. Instead, he is
possessed by an unquenchable thirst for enlightenment. He rejects his father s dreams, he rejects his
teachers, and he even rejects the honorable teachings of Buddha because he honestly believes that they
cannot help him in his journey to enlightenment.
On the other hand, why would Hesse demonstrate Siddhartha s consistent behavioral pattern of
abandonment? Understandably, when a student learns all that he or she can from a tutor or a mentor,
they would want to move on, learning advanced subjects or skills. It s a natural path. One cannot
continue to learn addition for the rest of their lives. So, it s shocking that when Siddhartha finally
meets the best teacher in all of Asia, Buddha, he bluntly disagrees with his wisdom. Hesse purposely
did this. In order for Siddhartha to continue his spiritual pilgrimage, he needed to be narcissistic.
However, it s ironic. He states: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Siddhartha claims that Buddha robbed him of his friend, Govinda, yet Siddhartha encouraged him to
follow him. Without Buddha stealing Siddhartha s shadow, then Siddhartha would have never
embarked on his own journey to find himself. Without meeting Buddha and rejecting his teachings,
Siddhartha would have never realized that he must experience wisdom for

My Father Speech
Dreams From My Father by the well known author Barack Obama was one of the most diversified
presidents The United States has ever seen. His life began, being born in Honolulu, Hawaii then
growing up in Indonesia and eventually living in the middle of Chicago; his upbringing is nothing of
the ordinary. Barack s memoir reveals his encounters, stories, and feelings about becoming an African
American leader in the United States of America. His diction and use of precise language helps
captivate the reader into understanding the struggles he had faced throughout his life. Barack had a
strong devotion to helping the young kids of Chicago. He wanted to give them a life, a chance at
something. His discussions often got pretty heated with other leaders in the community over this issue
as well as many other. No, I m just asking you a question. You say you re tired, the same way most
folks out here are tired. So I m just trying to figure out what s going to happen to these boys. Who s
going to make sure they get a fair shot? The alderman? The social workers? The gangs? (172). This is
just an example of the several outbursts Barack had while facing opposition throughout his
community. The way in which he calls to action, allows the reader to question his/her own
involvement in their own community . It lets the reader reflect upon their own choices and makes
them realize that they have a commitment to uphold to their community. Furthermore, the way Barack

Chaucer Characters In Canterbury Tales
In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales General Prologue , 29 pilgrims plan to journey from
London to Canterbury and back to worship at the shrine of St. Thomas a Beckett, Maryland. Each
pilgrim agreeing to tell two stories on the way there and two stories on the way back. Amongst these
character s in the General Prologue we have three estates that separate them called the; Aristocrats,
Clergy, and the Workers, each responsible for their own duties. In the following paragraphs we will be
focusing more on the estate of the Aristocrats than that of the other estates. The estate of the
Aristocrats who are uniquely made up of the Sergeant at Law, the Franklin, the Doctor of Medicine,
his Pharmacists, and the honorable Knight. Taking a look at and evaluating how the majorities actions,
dress, and behavior within the prologue reflect how they are hypocritical to the value of their estate.
While only one character truly adheres to those values of their estate and is thus worthy of respect.
The first of many of these hypocrites that we run into is the Sergeant at Law who rather than adhering
to the oath of the aristocrats of upholding justice and protecting the weak, prey s on those who are in
trouble. Seizing the land of those who were below him and having nobody even question him of his
suspicious actions as Chaucer states, So great a land buyer elsewhere was none; / He would directly
buy up the estate; / His purchase, no one could invalidate (Chaucer, 320 323). This is

Five Key Individuals Who Assisted Essay
The Intervention
Five key individuals who assisted in the intervention:
1. Mary the superior of Jan.
Mary appeared to be on board with the intervention. Jan called Mary as her husband requested, for the
day off, by Jan s spouse. Mary provided Jan the day off and continued to be very secretive about the
intervention.
The preparation intervention Mary was asked to speak first, at the real intervention. Jan sat next to
Mary on arrivals. Mary held Jan s hand and a very calm, soft soothing way. Spoke of the specific
events that made Mary worried, falling asleep at her desk, the birthday, and a day in July. Jan listened
and did not leave the room.
2. Jeff the son in law
Jeff Clarified to Jan how Kim felt at home. He gave specifics Kim was angry and has a huge amount
of sorrow about the alcohol, and Kim has many tears fall. Jeff also, went on to rational thoughts about
bringing the baby over to the house. He explained in a very compassionate manner that Kim and I
both did not want it to be the same as the birthday. Jan looked surprised at what Jeff had believed. The
thoughts that he spoke about Kim, appeared to impact Jan. Jan stayed and continued to listen.
3. Sue and Jim, the neighbors
Sue held it together when Jan confronted her drinking. Sue agreed she may have a problem too,
however Sue brings it back to Jan in a very tranquil manner. The husband Jim did not speak, but was
supportive and perhaps thought of his own drinking.
4. Kim the daughter At first she

My Graduate Program At Ladoke Akintola University Of...
The dominant thread that ties my past, present and future together is a dedication to maximizing my
opportunities so I may contribute significantly within and beyond my sphere of influence. My ability
to recognize necessity and innovatively provide practical solutions enabled me to excel in many
endeavors. Early in my undergraduate program at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria,
I recognized the poor conditions of our learning environment. The lecture room was insufficiently
ventilated and barely accommodated the students, which made lectures uncomfortable because of
congestion, heat and high humidity. Additionally, the insufficient supply of laboratory chemicals to
perform experiments made many students cluster together in the lab to make use of the few available
resources. I took on an executive position in my departmental students association in an effort to
address these issues. My colleagues and I forwarded a petition on behalf of 300 undergraduate
students to the departmental administration for the much needed overhauls. We also approached our
departmental alumni and nearby chemical companies to solicit help. Our efforts saw the suggested
improvements implemented, which enhanced our learning experience for the rest of our program. In
this executive position, I sought ways to enrich and meet the needs of the students I represented. I
presented workshops on software, like MATLAB and HYSYS, to over 50 students to help them
complete their coursework. Later

Reflecting on The Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago
The purpose of this paper is to provide a reflection on the field trip to the Hindu Temple of Greater
Chicago. After a brief Introduction to the Context, the Watercress tool will be used to highlight my
observations. In our study of the Hinduism, the class visited The Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago
(HTGC). This active temple is a house of worship that serves thousands of devotees as they pay
hamage to a diverse variuety of Idol and spiritual gods. Taughted as one of the oldest religions in the
world, it accepts all religious belief systems and God. In fact, the Temple is designed to accommodate
any and many gods to include the practices and rites of the devotees. Our volunteer tour guide
explained the Hindu theology in lthis way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When using the Rituals portion of the WTR CRESS , The temple devotees pratices numerous rituals
to honor their particular god. Some ran in circles, some left fruit and rice, some bowed, laid prostrate,
or did push ups. Moreover, some had tattooes or some kind of inking on their face and forehead. Some
where dressed in a kind of silk robe. When asked about the color and care of the idols, the guide told
us the gods had to be cared for similar to the devotees. They had to be cleaned, dressed, provided
food, and other such things. Additionally, he commented the gods resemble their devotees, which
explained the various colors. The only exception would be the blue colored idols. When using the
Communication portion of the WTR CRESS, the discursive communication was observed through the
various rituals, rites, and practices performed by the devotees. In some cases devotees ran several
times around the idol and in other cases they would burn incense and other items in hopes of sending
up prayers via smoke to Parabrahma. Though I am not sure about the correlation between the burning
material and the devotees prayer, one for one or more, it was evident that a certain amount of items
were burned for each prayer. Non Discursive could be felt in the reverence for each and every god.
Particularly when someone would first enter the temple and rang the bell. The guide commented the
sound of the bell was a type of

Was the U.S. Federal Government’s 1932 Intervention in the...
Was the U.S. federal government s 1932 intervention in the market for home ownership desirable?
How did the creation of Fannie Mae in 1938, Ginnie Mae in 1968, and Freddie Mac in 1970 expand
homeownership and shape lending practices at banks and other mortgage lending firms?
Yes, I do believe that the U.S. federal government s 1932 intervention in the market for
homeownership was desirable, not only for the government but also for potential home owners as well
as those in construction, etc. Prior to the intervention only short term, nonamortizing loans with lower
LTV ratios were available and the result was many loans being defaulted on. The intent of the
intervention was to assist in minimizing defaulted loans on short term mortgages ... Show more

Ultimately, in my opinion, these Acts all seemed to contribute to allowing those who maybe should
not be qualified for a loan, to obtain one anyways. The legislation was definitely effective in
expanding homeownership because now way more people were able to qualify for mortgages. The
government s promotion of subprime mortgages and high LTV subprime mortgages most definitely
created additional risks for lenders and those who obtained MBSs and CDOs. I would think that by
offering loans to those with low incomes, unstable employment, high debt to income ratios, etc. the
risk is increased for all parties involved. By not ensuring (as much as a lender possibly can) that an
individual is capable (now and in the future) of making the mortgage payments is bound to result in
disaster. By the government promoting such loan types, it just further enabled the lenders and
homeowners to basically dig themselves their own graves.
Was CFC pursuing an ethical strategy? Were all of CFC s business practices ethical? Were CFC s
compensation practices ethical and in the best interest of shareholders? Did its lending practices harm
borrowers? Is there anything unethical about its VIP loan program?
By no means was CFC pursuing an ethical strategy. I think it s pretty safe to say that their business
practices were the definition of predatory. They didn t abide by their own underwriting standards nor
the industry s, they put

The Possible Links Between Cellphone Uses and Tumors
1. How do cellphones work? These work by the signals which are transmitted to and can be received
from the base station (usually located close by) through RF wave. RF wave is a type of
electromagnetic wave with a frequency range of 300GHZ widely used in radio communication and in
applications such as heating. RF waves along with FM waves, microwaves, visible light and heat
come under non ionizing radiation. RF does not cause cancer. These waves are different from
radiations i.e. x rays, gamma rays and UV rays. These radiations can destroy the chemical bonds that
make up DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). At higher levels the RF waves can raise the temperature of the
body. But the RF waves emitted by the cell phones are generally of lower energy level and hence it
does not affect body temperature. 2. How are people exposed to RF waves? RF waves require more
energy for long distance transmission. The energy at the transmitting antenna in cellphone will greater
than the energy received by the receiving antenna of the cellphone (loss of energy during long distance
transmission). When a customer communicates using cellphone which is in contact with their ear
(either left or right) the maximum energy at the transmitting antenna of the cellphone during
communication will be directly absorbed by that ear. The ear that is closest to the phone will absorb
more energy that the ear that farther away. It also depends on factors such as: 1. Amount of time the
cellphone is being used

Maniac Magee Character Traits
The author of Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli, uses delineate details, dialogue, actions, and thoughts to
evolve the character, Amanda Beale. To summarize, Amanda is very brave and caring. She cares about
other people and is a very interesting character, as depicted by Jerry Spinelli in his writing. He shows
that she can be mature, too. Amanda displays this trait due to her actions on page 23. On page 23,
Amanda cleans up some glass that her little siblings, Hester and Lester, broke. However, some readers
may argue that this is a simple action, not showing maturity, some may declare that this does. Most
children would not clean up glass. Many adults can agree that children cleaning up glass is rare, seeing
how it could be a hazard.

  • 2. The Imagery Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare The imagery of Macbeth institutes a dark, evil aura that surrounds nearly every aspect of the play. Images of evil beings, murder, as well as the natural and supernatural help to set this sinister mood throughout the play. The three witches are a dominant source of evil in Macbeth. They are the first characters introduced, emphasizing their significance in the play as well as their aura of darkness. Their first meeting takes place in thunder and lightening, a dark, chaotic, and dangerous environment, which sets the tone and atmosphere for the rest of the play . They also use a multitude of paradoxical and contradictory statements, indicating a sense of deception (1.1.2 10). They say that the battle, referring to the battle between Scotland, led by Banquo and Macbeth, and the armies of Ireland and Norway, will be ere the set of sun, (1.1.5). The witches mean that this battle will be finished by the time the sun has set, leaving any following events to occur in darkness. In their second meeting, their evil and power is accentuated when they describe their actions; killing swine and wrecking the ships of sailors (1.3. 2 30). This foreshadow s the dark consequences of their meeting with Macbeth. Furthermore, the witches act as Macbeth s stimulus into a descent into evil. The witches take advantage of Macbeth s covert desire for power, and influence him to fulfill his own prophecy, to quench their own desire for a world of chaos. The line, All hail Macbeth that shalt be King ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Lottery, By Shirley Jackson Conformity is not based mainly on containing and supporting a society, but also to dominate and control what is within. The control of repressed individuality benefits those at the top of a power structure. From early on, men were considered the breadwinners and women were to maintain households; whether due to a difference in physical, emotional, or mental state; this was an unquestioned hierarchy. Therefore, any women who pushed back were ultimately punished for threatening the system. In The Lottery , Shirley Jackson uses literary devices of symbolism, irony, and characterization to reveal the danger of blind obedience, and implanting the thought of resistance for women. To an extent, conformity is necessary in reality; time has shown that laws, rules, and regulations that are innately bad can serve as the catalyst for rebellion, as recorded for the French Revolution, Vietnam War, and Czarist Russia. Conformity lays the groundwork for good laws to be constructed, and until that time, men are able to abuse and utilized the current laws for their own superior gain. One of the biggest rebellions is backed purely by feminism, where women are repressed by men. Unfortunately, in the past not many women knew their true value, and were prematurely silenced; however, Jackson is revealing the reality of the restraints. The author utilizes symbolism throughout her storyline to great effect. The physical properties, the black box, the slips of paper, the placing of the box on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On Surveillance Justice is dead, extinct, eradicated by those who seek monetary gain as opposed to altruism. Why would you give the people what they need as well as desire, when instead you could line your own pockets with capital from corrupt billionaires and businesses? Society has surpassed the point of complete saturation with these injustices, and now we are on the brink of a catastrophic dystopian meltdown. With politicians drafting bills to monitor and control the public, government agencies sidestepping the law in a misguided attempt to achieve justice, and a dishonest mainstream media trying to sway the public view every step of the way, it is quite a wonder we have lasted this long. Surveillance is the way of the future, and anyone who exhibits a dissenting opinion is labeled un American, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bills are drafted and passed by those who will not live long enough to see the consequences of their actions, and supported by those who are too powerful to be affected by such policies. When the options are to damage the future of your community in exchange for copious bribes, or to vote against such a proposition and be subjected to negative publicity from the supporters of the proposal, the choice is all too obvious. Arguing that you don t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don t care about free speech because you have nothing to say. • 6. The Importance Of Employee Empowerment Employee empowerment is important, even if you believe in a traditional type of employee management. Empowerment of your employees has the ability to turn your organization around and make it more successful than it previously was. In some organizations employee empowerment is absolutely needed. They type of organizations that need employee empowerment are basically any business that has employees who have to work together as a team. Empowerment also does not just mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only seek their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from management, I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I would put dramatic emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees who are empowered are employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their goals(Goetsch Davis,2014). After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment overhaul with our employees, I would then zone in on the things that keep the organization operational. Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed in order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can grow their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mandatory Health Insurance Mandatory Insurance Coverage for Women s Reproductive Health Critique of Health Policy Position Statements All people in America should have a right to health care benefits and services considering health care is at the center of the national agenda. Mandatory health care insurance is a system that pays the cost of health care for those who are enrolled and in which enrollment is required for all members of a population. Preventive services requirements include a wide array of services beyond contraceptive care that are central to the sexual and reproductive health of women but the biggest challenge is how much the public will learn about other preventive care services that these same plans must also cover without patient cost sharing. • 10. LDCT Screening According to recent studies at Indiana Universty School of Medicine, alternative methods for detecting non small cell lung cancer are emerging. The current methods of detecting NSCLC may be effective, but they are also very expensive. One method called a low dose computed tomography (LDCT) has been successful in identifying malignant tumors. However, routine LDCT screenings would result in 1.3 to 2 billion dollars nationally in health care costs annually. Deig, Mendonca, and Lautenschlaeger suggest that pursuing other methods of screening for NSCLC would significantly decrease this cost. If screenings could be conducted in a cost efficient and effective manner, then the expensive LDCT procedure would only have to be conducted for patients who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Biomarkers are natural indicators in the body that respond noticeably to the presence of disease. By measuring the responses of biomarkers, oncologists detect the cancerous cells before recommending expensive procedures, rather than immediately resorting to these procedures. One of these biomarkers that responds to the presence of cancerous cells is microRNA. MicroRNAs are molecules that are involved in the cell life cycle and therefore the progression of cancerous cells. A study in cancer patients was conducted to compare the accuracy of screening with microRNAs to screening with LDCT. Observing microRNAs did not prove to be as accurate at identifying cancer as LDCT, but since using microRNAs is a less expensive process, it can identify patients that should undergo LCDT testing. Screening with microRNA testing initially would decrease the number of patients paying for LCDT testing. Another biomarker that can be observed in response to cancer is ct DNA. Ct DNA refers to fragments of DNA from tumors found circulating in the blood stream. A recent study indicated that observing ct DNA could have multiple useful applications for oncologists. Ct DNA analysis during treatment could serve as an indication of how tumors react to treatment methods and whether recurrence is likely. Detecting ct DNA in the bloodstream could even serve as an early sign of cancer, observable before imaging tests even show tumors. However, ct DNA analysis has not yet proved to be a replacement for LDCT ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s not fair for college football players that don t do has much school work a normal student would do daily. College athletes and regular students should have the same rules same accountability the school demands (Blackistone 2014). It took only one week of my summer to begin appreciating things of little relevance in our fast pace and chaotic culture. • 13. Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad vs. Things Fall Apart... Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe are two novellas written to make a statement about the struggles of early societies. Both stories stir up moments of hope, anger, disappointment, despair, and enlightenment in an attempt to inform the reader of the injustices and societal differences during the 1800 s. Heart of Darkness tells the story from a European Colonist perspective while Things Fall Apart illustrates the outlook of the African tribe member being colonized. However, when the crowd allows the other Europeans to escape, Okonkwo realizes that his clan is not willing to go to war. Soon after the murder, Okonkwo prideful character, and inability to accept defeat, results in his suicide. Heart of Darkness and Things Fall Apart exemplify two different perspectives of African Literature. In Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad shows the African Culture through the eyes of the white man or colonizing Europeans. In this story the native Africans are depicted as vicious savages. In response to Conrad s stereotypical depiction of Africans, Chinua Achebe wrote Things Fall Apart through the point of view of the natives to show Africans, not as primitives, but as members of a thriving society. Things Fall Apart follows Okonkwo s life as he strives for prestige in his community. When European missionaries come to Umuofia, Okonkwo s clan, Okonkwo tries to protect the culture that the missionaries would destroy in the name of civilizing the natives. The shrinkage defect was precluded starting the first experiment since it can usually be corrected by proper design of the gating systems .  In fact, much more experiments were needed to determine the clear causes of gas defects as such causes are so many in number. • 15. Fahrenheit 451 Research Paper Fahrenheit 451: Burning Books or Burning People? The Jaws Effect is a term used to express the experience a group goes through after a piece of media misrepresents them. This phrase was coined after the infamous 1975 cult film Jaws inspired a nation wide shark hunt that resulted in many species becoming endangered or almost extinct. Many classic novels are a contributor to this phenomenon; Catcher in the Rye alone has inspired at least four assassination attempts on public figures due to its messages about how wrong society apparently is. The root of the Jaws Effect lies within the age old notion that fiction affects reality; a notion that has obviously has proved itself to be true. Representation of any group can be crucial in influential media; a positive or negative depiction can be the difference of how society views a minority, group, or organization. So, why is it that our education system continues to push for students to read books ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The messages about censorship are things we as a society should be made aware of, and some its points about becoming too reliant on technology do make a good argument. The problem that lies within Fahrenheit 451, as a highly influential book that is still read in classrooms today, is that it sends the wrong messages about oppression, which is harmful to everyone. Those in positions of power then have misconstrued perceptions about theirs and other s places in the world, and those who are apart of minority groups get told, yet again, that their anger towards their discrimination is unjustified. Considering this novel is so highly influential, the fact that this is a prevalent theme is quite harmful. Fahrenheit 451, while an American classic, should be treated with a much more scrutinizing eye when being taught or read. Its discriminatory themes should be called out and made apparent as so the audience will not unconsciously internalize them without analyzing their real life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Analysis Of Jane Austen s Persuasion Perfection in Austen s Persuasion Jane Austen is know for writing sympathetic but realistically flawed female characters. Elizabeth Bennet is witty but prideful, Emma Woodhouse is well meaning but frightfully un observant, and overcoming these flaws is what drives these characters arcs throughout their respective books. Yet in Austen s novel, Persuasion, at first, Anne Elliot seems as if she is the perfect woman. She is a woman of birth, beauty, and mind, (Austen 20), she manages to be liked by nearly everyone she meets, and she was the only one to keep a calm head when Louisa fell in Lyme (79). However ideal she may seem though, she is not flawless. Anne Elliot s greatest fault is that she suffers from a lack of courage and nerve, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet besides a simple suggestion that it is the woman s job to look after the children, Anne doesn t tell Mary that her behavior is egotistical, and actually uses Mary s outburst to avoid seeing Captain Wentworth by suggesting that she herself will look after the child (41). Anne does not challenge Mary s poor behavior even when it is blatantly selfish and even compromises with her in order to further avoid a different type of confrontation. This is not the only time that one of Anne s family members acts disagreeable in such an obvious fashion. Her father s character is so shallow that he only cares about looks and rank (4), rarely acts in a way that is not displeasing or ridiculous to the reader, and has overspent all of his money and is now in debt (8). Austen even states that Sir. Walter has no affection for Anne, (175) his own daughter. He goes so far as to make fun of the appearance of a man who served in the navy (15). We as the reader can see that Sir. Walter has no redeemable qualities, and yet Anne does not stand up to him when he disproves of her engagement with Wentworth when she is younger (20). Austen does say that, it might have been possible to withstand her [Anne s] father s ill will, (21) and it is ultimately Lady Russel that convinces Anne to sever the relationship, but young Anne never tries to defend herself against Sir ... If I had to choose just one I would without a doubt choose skiing. Skiing for me is more than a sport or hobby. It is an escape. It relaxes, calms and creates an environment that is unlike any other. That feeling of speed as the wind hits my face is so thrilling. I started skiing when I was just five. I started taking lessons and really learning the basics when I was seven. When I first started skiing I did not enjoy it at all. I was cold, tired and did not like falling down. After many lessons and skiing on my own, I started to enjoy skiing more. I skied with friends and family a few times a year. The elementary school I attended offered a winter ski and snowboard program. Every Tuesday of every week from January to March my entire school would travel to King Pine Ski Resort in Madison, NH. We would take ski lessons offered at the mountain. During those years when I was able to leave school and be brought to this mountain and ski with friends was when I started to look at skiing less as hobby and more as a passion. Skiing is a completely unique experience. Whether it s flying down the mountain, cutting through glades or going off a huge kicker, the feeling is almost addicting. • 19. International Relations Essay The first paradigm of international relations is the theory of Realism. Realism is focused on ideas of self interest and the balance of power. Realism is also divided into two categories, classical realism and neo realism. Famous political theorist, Hans Morgenthau was a classical realist who believed that national interest was based on three elements, balance of power, military force, and self interest (Kleinberg 2010, 32). He uses four levels of analysis to evaluate the power of a state. The first is that power and influence are not always the same thing. Influence means the ability to affect the decision of those who have the power to control outcomes and power is the ability to determine outcomes. An example of influence and power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The power of a state is always contextual and relative. The final level of analysis Morgenthau considers to be important is whether or not the power is legitimate and moral or if it is illegitimate and immoral. Legitimate and moral power carries considerable weight in the international community. However, if the power of a state is derived from illegitimate sources such as a dictatorship the international community will be less responsive to that state, weakening its power. Weak or small states may enter into alliances with stronger states to increase their power and influence within the international community (Kleinberg 2010, 33 34). Morgenthau also believed that the charisma and personality of a leader was very important when reviewing the balance of power and understanding a state s self interest (Kleinberg 2010, 32). Realism focuses on the balance of power and how it impacts of actions of state actors within the international political system. Morgenthau said that, The aspirations for power on the part of several nations, each trying to either maintain or overthrow the status quo, leads of necessity to a configuration that is called the balance of power and to policies that aim at preserving it (Morgenthau 1967,131). • 20. Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence ONE STEP TOWARDS JUSTICE: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Right now, right at this very instant, a silent war all across the nation is being waged. A violation of humanity, a crime that is least prosecuted, and a great threat endangering the lives of thousands of women and children daily. Of course, I am talking about harsh reality of domestic violence. We live in a time where domestic violence is kept a taboo subject, a shameful secret that shouldn t be let out. We know it s happening, and even hear or see the events. But who s taking action? I can stand here and give you a list of statistics about this issue, but is that all it is? A statistic? Sadly enough, people look at this endless crime as just a figure or percentage, we re shocked at first but nothing more. So today, I am taking the first step, a step towards justice, a step to end the struggle, and a step to save our nation. And yes, I m not anyone special, I don t study the topic, nor am I a survivor of domestic violence myself. But I m here to tell a story. I m here to make a change. And I m here to encourage all of you to do the same. I m going to share an experience I had. Something that I ve regretted and hated myself for since, knowing that help could ve been sought earlier. A few years back, I was catching up with a family member and noticed a faint bruise on her face. Naturally, I asked her what had happened but she just brushed it off, told me it was nothing but a sport injury. Weeks progressed, and the bruises became worse and worse, but I stop questioning. To me, she still seemed the happy go lucky girl I knew and loved, the only difference were these markings. But let me tell you, sometimes the people who seem happiest, are actually hurting the most. And this was exactly the case. Flashforward a few months, and her partner was being trialled and charged under the case of domestic abuse. Although there were so many signs, my ignorance restrained me from helping her help herself. Needless to say, I was absolutely disgusted. And to this day, I still can t even begin the fathom how anyone could possibly put their hands on someone they loved. To purposely harm their significant other and act like everything is fine. The untouchable Siddhartha, however, is unsatisfied with his life. Instead, he is possessed by an unquenchable thirst for enlightenment. He rejects his father s dreams, he rejects his teachers, and he even rejects the honorable teachings of Buddha because he honestly believes that they cannot help him in his journey to enlightenment. On the other hand, why would Hesse demonstrate Siddhartha s consistent behavioral pattern of abandonment? Understandably, when a student learns all that he or she can from a tutor or a mentor, they would want to move on, learning advanced subjects or skills. It s a natural path. One cannot continue to learn addition for the rest of their lives. So, it s shocking that when Siddhartha finally meets the best teacher in all of Asia, Buddha, he bluntly disagrees with his wisdom. The dominant thread that ties my past, present and future together is a dedication to maximizing my opportunities so I may contribute significantly within and beyond my sphere of influence. My ability to recognize necessity and innovatively provide practical solutions enabled me to excel in many endeavors. Early in my undergraduate program at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, I recognized the poor conditions of our learning environment. The lecture room was insufficiently ventilated and barely accommodated the students, which made lectures uncomfortable because of congestion, heat and high humidity. Additionally, the insufficient supply of laboratory chemicals to perform experiments made many students cluster together in the lab to make use of the few available resources. I took on an executive position in my departmental students association in an effort to address these issues. My colleagues and I forwarded a petition on behalf of 300 undergraduate students to the departmental administration for the much needed overhauls. We also approached our departmental alumni and nearby chemical companies to solicit help. Our efforts saw the suggested improvements implemented, which enhanced our learning experience for the rest of our program. Yes, I do believe that the U.S. federal government s 1932 intervention in the market for homeownership was desirable, not only for the government but also for potential home owners as well as those in construction, etc. Prior to the intervention only short term, nonamortizing loans with lower LTV ratios were available and the result was many loans being defaulted on. Ultimately, in my opinion, these Acts all seemed to contribute to allowing those who maybe should not be qualified for a loan, to obtain one anyways. The legislation was definitely effective in expanding homeownership because now way more people were able to qualify for mortgages. The government s promotion of subprime mortgages and high LTV subprime mortgages most definitely created additional risks for lenders and those who obtained MBSs and CDOs. I would think that by offering loans to those with low incomes, unstable employment, high debt to income ratios, etc. the risk is increased for all parties involved. By not ensuring (as much as a lender possibly can) that an individual is capable (now and in the future) of making the mortgage payments is bound to result in disaster. By the government promoting such loan types, it just further enabled the lenders and homeowners to basically dig themselves their own graves. Was CFC pursuing an ethical strategy? • 30. The Possible Links Between Cellphone Uses and Tumors 1. How do cellphones work? These work by the signals which are transmitted to and can be received from the base station (usually located close by) through RF wave. RF wave is a type of electromagnetic wave with a frequency range of 300GHZ widely used in radio communication and in applications such as heating. RF waves along with FM waves, microwaves, visible light and heat come under non ionizing radiation. RF does not cause cancer. These waves are different from radiations i.e. x rays, gamma rays and UV rays. These radiations can destroy the chemical bonds that make up DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). At higher levels the RF waves can raise the temperature of the body. But the RF waves emitted by the cell phones are generally of lower energy level and hence it does not affect body temperature. 2. How are people exposed to RF waves? RF waves require more energy for long distance transmission. The energy at the transmitting antenna in cellphone will greater than the energy received by the receiving antenna of the cellphone (loss of energy during long distance transmission). When a customer communicates using cellphone which is in contact with their ear (either left or right) the maximum energy at the transmitting antenna of the cellphone during communication will be directly absorbed by that ear.
