The Effect Of Acute Administration Of B Carboline Harmine...
ABSTRACT :
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of acute administration of B carboline harmine on the
behavioral and physiological of rats exposed to CMS procedure. To develop this study we used 40
animals divided into four groups as follows: (G1) Non stressed Saline. (G2) Non stressed Harmine;
(G3) stressed Saline; (G4) stressed Harmine. ). After 30 days of exposure to CMS, rats were treated
with harmine (20 mg/kg/day) for 7 days. In this study, the time spent in the open arms and in closed
arms, arm and closed entries ,cholesterol and triglycerides levels were assessed. The results we
obtained during the experiment show that treatment with harmine induced:, Increase time spent in
open arms, , the number of arm entries and number of closed arm entries were not altered by CMS or
this treatment. normalized cholesterol levels, We concluded that harmine could be used to improved
depressive disorders.

INTRODUCTION : Anxiety is a common consequence of chronic stress. In humans, stressful life
events may lead to anxiety even in the absence of a chronic physiological stress response [13]. Many
studies have been conducted to identify the role of different factors that contribute to the development
of depression and anxiety [A,B].It has been reported that decrease anxiety related behavior in humans
and animals.( ?) Among trusty models of depression, chronic mild stress (CMS) model of

Supply And Demand of Gasoline Essay
Supply and Demand: Gasoline
I am a husband and a father of four lovely children. We need a large vehicle to haul all of us around
town. And of course I would do anything to keep them safe and I always want to provide them with
the best. Therefore, after the birth of our fourth child two and a half years ago, my wife and I decided
to upgrade our Ford Explorer to a Ford Expedition. We got everything from the side curtain airbags to
the TV and DVD player. What we did not know was we also purchased a rather large unleaded gas
bill. The first time we filled the tank it cost us roughly $35; today it costs us right around $75 to fill
the tank. Obviously the price of gas has increased significantly in the last two years. The price ...

Norway is the third largest exporter of crude oil. Three separate strikes over a five month period
severely influenced production. The supply of gasoline to various regions of the United States also
plays a significant role. The country is divided into five different regions: Gulf Coast, East Coast,
Midwest, Rocky Mountain, and West Coast. Some of these areas do not have enough refineries in
their own region to support the consumption and therefore need it brought in. For example, the West
Coast has very limited pipeline connections from the other regions. It must rely on water shipments
and its small amount of refiners for its supply. If something should happen to the water shipments, i.e.
a hurricane, tsunami, etc. it would greatly effect the supply of gasoline. The demand of gasoline has
increased steadily over the last twenty years. In 1981 the U.S. averaged 6.5 million barrels of gasoline
consumption per day. By comparison, in 2004 the U.S. averaged 9.2 million barrels of gasoline
consumption per day. For most of this time period, gas prices stayed relatively the same. This is
because the U.S. refineries increased their production to meet the demand and maintain the
equilibrium price. Also during this same time period worldwide demand for crude oil increased 27%.
Crude oil producers also increased their production to meet the demand keeping prices the same. The
price of gasoline is affected by many

Benefits Of Zoos In Zoos
Do zoos fulfill the needs of the animals? Should animals be kept in only one enclosure for their whole
life? Is it worth all the time and money for the animals to be unhappy? Many people think zoos are
doing a good job of keeping animals happy in the man made zoos. Because people think that, they
support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations
where the enclosures aren t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild
should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them,
zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and
damage animals homes.
Enclosures in zoos do not provide everything the animal needs. In paragraph 6 in the article ... Show

In paragraph 4 of the article Do Animals Lose in Zoos? it says Zoos spend millions of dollars to create
bigger and better enclosures to improve the conditions for the animals. In order to build a big zoo, the
person who owns the zoo must clear out land for the zoo, which means animals homes will be wiped
out. Although the money spent for bigger enclosures gives the animals improved living conditions, it
would be much more efficient for the animals to just live in the wild and we wouldn t have to spend so
much money for zoos. Instead, the money spent for zoos can be used for more important things such
as medical research or even animal preservations. Animal preservations care for animals that can t
fend for themselves in the wild and teach people how to help, instead of keeping perfectly capable
animals in man made enclosures. Although animals in captivity do live longer, they probably are not
happy with their living conditions. Therefore, wild animals should be kept out of zoos, unless they can
not survive on their own, then they should be taken to an animal

Cultural Differences Between Santa And Norma
My participant Santa was introduced to me by my aunt Norma. Santa and Norma both share a
grandson. Norma introduced me to Santa because she is a sixty five year old woman who has a lot of
experience because of the things she has gone through. Just like me, Santa is a Hispanic women trying
to live out the rest of her years as comfortable as possible. As I interviewed Santa, I realized that we
had many different diversity characteristics. Some of these characteristics was her immigration status.
Santa was born and raised in Puerto Rico for majority of her life time. It was not until the age of forty
nine that she had decided to migrate to Buffalo, NY. She had stated that she had never traveled outside
of Puerto Rico and that moving to the United States brought anxiety to her. My participant, Santa is
very involved in her religion. She has been attending a Catholic church since she had relocated to
Buffalo. Santa also stated that she has been on disability since 2001 due to mental health reasons. As
for her social class Santa considers herself to be in middle class, she stated that she never struggled
financially. As I interviewed Santa, her migrating to Buffalo, NY stood out to me the most. Santa was

A Fair Trial Summary
The New York grand jury indictments including the charge against the former general counsel, Mark
Belnick, 55, who was an investigator in the Senates Iran contra hearings in 1987 also accuse Mr.
Kozlowski and Mr. Swartz of bribing a Tyco board member and several Tyco employees, apparently
to try to keep their scheme secret. The indictment accuses Mr. Kozlowski and Mr. Swartz of enterprise
corruption, a charge often used in Mafia prosecutions. The authorities accuse Mr. Kozlowski and Mr.
Swartz of stealing $170 million from the company itself and reaping $430 million more by covertly
selling Tyco stock while artificially inflating the value of that stock. Prosecutors, as well as the
company, contend that Mr. Kozlowski defrauded Tyco by awarding

Have you ever thought about changing your life completely? I am going to talk about a book that
show a kid that try to change his life and try to hide his past for his new friends
The name of this book is Jake Reinvented. One of the main themes in Jake Reinvented is some people
will do anything to keep there past behind them even if that means to change yourself into something
you thought you would never be. These paper is going to how this is the theme of Jake Reinvented
and show that this is one of the main themes in Jake Reinvented. I well cover three different scene in
the book from them beginning to the end of the book.
The first scene that supports my theme is the scene when Jake tells Rick to bring Jenifer to the next
party and Didi come with and she see Jake and realizes that he was here old mat tutor from McKinley.
This is the first major scene that comes up in the book that shows part of Jakes old self and what he
was before he started going to Rick s school. These two quotation show that Jake was kind of a nerd
Back at his old school. The first quote comes for page 42 when Didi says, Jake used to go to

The Debate Over Nuclear Waste
It is established that energy cannot be created nor destroyed and it could not be made out of nothing
according the law of conservation of energy. The way that science explains the phenomenon of energy
conservation is by portraying the conservation of energy as a physical transfer of energy between
mediums through various forms such as heat, sound, and light. Since the discovery of fire in the early
days of humanity, it can be understood that heat is the most versatile form of energy. On the expense
of sacrificial physical matter, heat is produced particularly natural resource such as fossil fuels. While
time progresses, the anticipated rate of decrease in fossil fuels has lead to the exploration of
prospectively innovative long term energy supplies. Nevertheless, like fossil fuels, injurious resources
have professed many questions regarding the discarding of nuclear waste. This controversy paper will
be mainly focusing on the question of whether nuclear waste can be disposed of safely.
Contrasting on the issues with fossil fuels, the depletion of nuclear resources cannot tangibly be
consumed. Relatively when creating heat by utilizing fossil fuels, nuclear resources do not breakdown
into individual byproducts for example, carbon dioxide and water. In contrast, electrical power plants
use nuclear resources such as uranium and plutonium pellets. When these nuclear resources are used,
they remain undamaged and become considered as consumed fuel once it reaches an industrial

North Dallas Forty vs. Any Given Sunday Essay example
Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty, made over 25 years apart, are two of the most famous
football movies ever made. Both of these movies focus on an examination of American values as seen
through the lens of a professional sport, both on and off the field. Any Given Sunday and North Dallas
Forty do indeed have many striking similarities. Furthermore, it seems that both movies try to give a
detailed depiction on the corporate mentality of modern day professional football; while at the same
time, still working to deliver a traditional, likeable sports flick. Though there is a large time gap
between the two films, they have similar messages and much in common.

Both films focus on characters struggling to stay successful in professional football and deal with
pressures off the field. In North Dallas Forty, Phil Elliott is in such terrible shape, so in order to get
through a game, it requires drugs, tape, and much padding. He is only able to compete in games when
he is hopped up on painkillers, which are conveniently provided to him by management. His cynicism
and independent spirit is looked upon as troublesome by team coaches. Eventually, the Bulls
management team benches Elliot after manipulating him to help train a fellow teammate. Many
similar things happen in Any Given Sunday. Cap Rooney, an older quarterback struggles to succeed,
as the new owner balks at renewing his contract. However, unlike Elliot, Rooney s coach fights for his
spot on the team and wants him to play for the Sharks. Unfortunately, he ends up getting hurt and is
replaced by a third string rookie quarterback. Just as management in North Dallas Forty gives away
drugs, the doctor in Any Given Sunday also saw nothing wrong with administering drugs to assist
players in making sure they got on the field no matter what.
Both movies demonstrate the fact that the game of football has changed from a true sport into a
business. In its own way, each film shows the passing of older generations and

Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer Essay
In the novel Into Thin Air, the author Jon Krakauer shows us two characters who have some
similarities, yet are markedly different. Rob Hall and Scott Fischer are both world renowned mountain
climbers as well as the leaders and head guides of their own mountain climbing enterprises. Each
employ the respect of his peers, yet here is where the similarities end. With differences in their
physical stature, climbing styles, and safety concerns, it would seem that one was destined to succeed
and other to fail. Krakauer describes Hall as being a thirty five year old man standing at six foot three
or four and skinny as a pole (31). His approach to climbing and guiding was meticulous and
demanding. He paid close attention to details and had an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with the notable exception of the summit climb. Showing genuine concern for his Sherpa help, Hall
made sure his clients understood their importance and was cavillous of other expedition leaders

recklessness is for the young, such is not the case with Scott Fischer. Fischer, in stark contrast to Hall,
was a man of forty with a very athletic build. Fischer was very passionate about climbing and had a
strong desire to be the best yet his approach to climbing was reckless with little respect for his own
welfare. Krakauer writes, If the name of Hall s business, Adventure Consultants, mirrored his
methodical, fastidious approach to climbing, Mountain Madness was an even more accurate reflection
of Scott s personal style. By his early twenties, he had developed a reputation for a harrowing, damn
the torpedoes approach to ascent (62). Like Hall, Fischer had prior successful climbs, although on
many occasions he had some climbing mishaps which could have cost him his life. Fischer did not
have the flair for publicity like Hall creating the inability to gain many sponsorships in his climbing
career. Like Hall, Fischer also climbed the summit of Mt. Everest but never as a guide. When Fischer
opened Mountain Madness in 1996, it was his first

and an investigation as to the possible reasons has led to a discovery that communications and
working relationships are not at the level they once were. As reported by Menashe (2016) in Abu
Dhabi, Halawah (2005) studied the impact of the principal and his leadership style had on the learning
environment and school climate of high schools and their students. The results showed direct
correlation between the climate of the learning environment and the level of communication between

I USC will return during the school year for the length of the entire implementation plan and continue
to monitor and adjust development as needed for all stakeholders including parents.
Starting this plan during the scheduled professional development days in August 2016, we will be
celebrating greater student success and a very harmonious school environment at The Academy of
Diverse Thinkers.
Future Research
Progress monitoring will occur during the course work, as well as individual surveys tracking each
leader s opinions of both the delivery method and the training itself. After the course work is
completed, anonymous surveys will be used to explore the efficacy of the development. Further
professional development will be created as the changes in our society s methods and skills in
communication evolve. It should be noted that due to the differences and variety of human learning
styles, multiple modalities must be used from this point forward in regards to any training,
communication, or dissemination of information.
Conclusion
The comprehensive communications enhancement program will cost the entirety of the budget already
set aside for professional development, however the return on investment will be multi faceted and
priceless: (1) the learning environment will improve greatly along with, (2) student success, (3) re
enrollment, and (4) teacher

Child Neglect Within The United States
Child neglect refers to the continued failure to offer a child with the necessary protection, and care.
Such protection and attention involve the necessities such as food, medical care, clothing, as well as
shelter (Conte 7). In addition, lack of proper supervision for the young children for an extended
duration of time is also child neglect. There are various signs of possible neglect. These include;
inconsistent school attendance, evidence that health care is not being provided for in a child, or lack of
proper hygiene (Conte 9). The child may also appear to be lacking clothes or poorly nourished.
The issue of child neglect is one of the most current forms of child maltreatment especially in the
United States. According to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System, child neglect is
referred to as a kind of maltreatment which relates to the failure of a caregiver to offer the needed, age
appropriate care, despite the fact that the parent may be financially stable to do so (Conte 13). Neglect
in many instances is described by an ongoing pattern that relates to lack of care and is observed by
individuals in close contact with a child. Child neglect can occur in cases such as a parent or a
caregiver emotionally or physically neglecting a child (Conte 17). This issue has a lengthy history.
Many children have been subjected to neglect by their parents or other adults, for a considerable long
period. Children who were under the English common law were given a

Cross Country Running Comparison
Running has many different aspects of workouts and forms of doing it. Comparisons a lot of people

Both do deal with running, but the differences are very major and they go much as to change the
workouts done for the sports. More comparisons that are mostly said that if a runner enjoys long
distance running then they also should go out for track since it has long distance events. Even though
it has those events it doesn t change the fact the two are very different. Cross country mostly deals
with long distance running, but its running on a grass and on hills. The works one would have to do to
prepare for cross country meets would be transitions of 400 mile repeats, long runs that could be
around five to ten miles on grass, gravel, or muddy, and dreaded hill workouts. These types of
workouts work out the legs and core of a person to be ready for any rugged terrain that they would run
on. Cross country also deals with the fact one must compete with a lot of more people. A normal cross

Coca Cola Advertising Research
Priming and Its Effects on Advertisement Ratings of Coca Cola
Why are some advertisements more appealing than others? Can people be influenced to like certain
advertisements more than others? People are constantly surrounded by ads that try to persuade them to
buy certain products instead of others. These ads are geared to appeal to certain cultures, such as
individualist cultures and collectivist cultures. In individualist cultures, people think of being an
individual strive to be independent and different from other individuals. Therefore, individualist
thought processes involve traits, states, or behaviors (e.g. I am honest ) (Trafimow, Triandis, Goto,
1991, p. 649). In collectivist cultures, on the other hand, people think of themselves as part of a group
and strive to do their best to contribute to the group. Therefore, collectivist thought processes involve
group memberships that involve family, society, race, gender, or other groups (e.g. I am a son )
(Trafimow, et al., 1991, p. 649). Little research has been done on whether or not individualistic and
collectivistic thoughts can be manipulated to prefer certain advertisements. This experiment attempts
to demonstrate that the thought process can be manipulated by priming to prefer advertisements that
are different from cultural upbringing. Many researchers have wondered about the influence culture
and upbringing has on people. This had led many researchers to study the different aspects of self,

Rhetorical Devices In The Glass Castle
Adversity, unfavorable fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.
Adversity is something everyone encounters at some juncture in their life. Many people concede in the
face of adversity, while many people persevere through the struggles they face daily. Jennette Walls
wrote The Glass Castle, a memoir that unmasked the dark mysteries of The Walls Family s onerous
life. She continuously proves that no one s background they can make it through the adversity in their
lives. Jeannette captivates the readers by using rhetorical devices. She utilizes symbolism so she can
express the importance of certain objects in her life, imagery to include emotion and enthusiasm, and
irony to add a little humor to the book.
Objects can prove to be the cause of some of the most impactful features or events in someone s life.

The rules require banks with assets of over $50 billion to hold up to 3% of their proceeds in cash or
highly liquid securities in order to avoid bank failure in the case of another crash.
The problem for banks is that they now can t use that small percentage of low yielding assets to turn a
profit on, and this makes them very sad. You see, bank CEOs don t really care if their banks fail and
millions of American are left in a lurch due to a lack of this protection. They simply want to make as
much profit as possible and let the potential carnage to the markets be damned that s because the
executives of a bank can walk away with all their money, while leaving a decimated stock market
behind.
Another aspect of the plan is that large banks must submit resolution plans to regulators each year
detailing how their institution could be dissolved without harming financial markets. And this is
terrible for banks because, I don t know, extra paperwork? Or maybe they just don t like to have to

A Consensus On Our Policy Analysis Framework
In this paper I will be discussing how our class came to a consensus on our policy analysis framework.
To understand what we are attempting to accomplish, you need to understand the denotation of policy
analysis. Policy analysis is a technique used in public administration so individuals can evaluate and
scrutinize policies. Policy analysis is not only limited to policy s that are already enacted, policy
analysis can be used to analyze perspective policy s. There are already a handful of policy analysis
frameworks available for use. These include: Chambers 2009, Gilbert and Terrell 2009, Popple and
Leighninger 2004, and Dobelstein 2003. Many of the frameworks are heavily influenced by the work
of Eveline Burns, who was prevalent in the 1940 s and 1950 s. While these frameworks would have
been suitable to use for our analysis our class chose to create our own framework to help with
analysis. In these next few paragraphs I will explain how and why we chose what we did. The first
part of our policy analysis framework that we made was the goals and objectives section. We took this
specific concept from Chambers framework, although many of the other frameworks also use this
concept. The class came to a consensus as to what the definition would mean specifically. We all
chose to measure the policy s intended impact, as well as the policy s actual impact. We also agreed on
that participation in the program helps as a stepping stone for these individuals. What we mean by this

Panselectionism Vs Pluralism
I am reminded of learning that when air rushes out of a flat tire, it isn t being squeezed out, it is merely
not being completely contained and the kinetics of matter in the gas phase are sufficient to allow the
tire to deflate to equilibrium with the atmosphere. At first this seemed like a linguistic matter and
mostly irrelevant. For most people it is a completely irrelevant nuance, but not for physicists and
chemists who are using the principles of effusion to separate isotopes of radioactive uranium.
Similarly, while a discussion regarding the difference between panselectionism and pluralism will
sedate most readers into a state of drooling submission, the critique issued by Gould and Lewontin
should be considered carefully by evolutionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several alternatives to panselectionism are presented and are generally all a variation on the neutral
theory of molecular evolution (printing should pend inquiry regarding the lack of credit to Motoo
Kimura for development of said theory). This hypothesis proposes that random genetic drift plays a
dominant role in genetic evolution with selection playing a minor supporting role. In the section titled
Telling Stories, the authors criticize scientists who ignore and/or marginalize the more likely
explanation of neutral theory in favor of the archaic approach of justifying every identifiable
characteristic of an organism as beneficial and inventing an often completely untestable hypothesis for
its utility. I heartily agree with this objection I have long felt that the field of evolutionary biology is
weakened every time the phrase over millions of years is uttered (and it is uttered far beyond the point
of cliché), and every time a biologist duplicitously represents that selection happens without values
and judgment (of course), and then proceeds to describe the various features in terms of survival value
and utility. As the authors point out, the mere existence of a good fit between organism and
environment is insufficient evidence for inferring the action of natural selection (593). Finally, the
authors invoke Darwin himself in order to remind readers that He was patently pluralist and bristled at
being portrayed as a panselectionist although as Gould and Lewontin note, we do not now regard all
of Darwin s subsidiary mechanisms as significant or even valid

A feeling of entrapment caused by the environment may lead to a lack of belonging which may result
in isolation. The feeling of isolation occurs when an individual feels separated from their surroundings
by lack of control. Could an individual overcome isolation? The Lamp at Noon , a short story written
by Sinclair Ross the protagonist has to overcome numerous obstacles in order to pursue happiness and
belonging. In the short story Ross suggests that in moments of difficulties an individual relies on the
presence of their partner to gain comfort however, if such needs are not provided one may adjust their

According to the information from the caselet, Deep Blue Robotics (DBR) might be facing the
following threat:
1. Malicious Software (Malware)
Malware is a class of malicious code that incorporates viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. Specialized
communication tools are used by destructive malwares in order to spread. Malwares could be
distributed by means of email and texts, Trojan horses dropped from web sites, and virus infected
records obtained from peer to peer connections. Malwares looks for existing flaws and loopholes in
the system architecture to make a peaceful and simple entrance.
Head office and manufacturing company resources are connected through Virtual Private Connections
(VPN) which has been setup using Fiber Optic cables; to ensure a secure data transmission between
connected devices. A security threat still exists if either end of the connected devices is infected by a
malware. This can potentially result in loss of information, information damage, or even equipment
damage.
2. Social Engineering
Social engineering is the ability of manipulating people to give up confidential information. The most
common Social Engineering attack is targeted to trick the victim into giving away their passwords or
bank information or having someone access your computer to secretly install a malware which can
access your passwords, bank information and other sensitive information stored in that computer.
Deep Blue Robotics (DBR) has backup procedures setup in such

The Boston Massacre In The Incident On King Street
The Incident on King Street is not well known in America but if one was to bring it up in Great Britain
the British could talk for days. In America, The Incident on King Street is well known as the Boston
Massacre. The Boston Massacre is a crucial event in America s early history and is a leading factor in
our freedom from Great Britain. It is a leading cause for the American Revolution and made people
look at British rule in a different light. According to Hiller B. Zobel, author of The Boston Massacre ...
we realized that our country s freedom grew from bloodshed. The Boston Massacre occurred on
March 5th, 1770, but events lead up to an accident of this severity for months, and even years before.
With rulers who ruled from thousands of miles away, it was hard to understand the needs and wants of
the colonist in America. Although the main goal from the rulers in Great Britain was to collect money
from the colonist, the colonist had different goals in mind.
According Jack P. Greene ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

colonists started to gather and yell, British soldiers were in a fury. The soldiers were lead by Captain

any instructions of the soldiers. Bostonmassacre.net claims the crowd of colonist were taunting the
soldiers by shouting Fire and be damned. Although there are counts of the Captain saying fire it is not
for certain that he did not say do not fire . It can not be for certain what was said and it what context

Abstract
Purpose The cold chain has become an integral part of the supply chain of perishable items. Recent
studies have shown a critical absence of a strong and dependable cold chain in developing economies.
The purpose of this paper is to set out to identify and inter relate the inhibitors that significantly
influence the efficiency of a cold chain in developing economies like India.

integrity of the cold chain must be preserved from the point of production, processing, through each of
the transport stages handling, loading, unloading, and storage and extends to storage at the consuming
household (Salin and Nayga, 2003). An efficient management of the cold chain is the key to prevent
unnecessary losses and maintaining the bottom line. Literatures on cold chain management have
discussed about various performance variables and factors that influence the cold chain efficiency and
integrity. Donk et al. (2008) have explored the specific problems of food manufacturers seeking

Theme Of Alienation In The Movie Metropolis
The silent film, Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang, released in 1927, reflects the social situation of the
time in Germany during the Weimar Period, before the rise of Hitler power. At that time, there was a
new political climate, which was in favor of an equity oriented fascism rather than liberty oriented
capitalism. The film clearly gives viewers an idea that fascism way of the political system is the
preferable ideology for the society by depicting the class struggles between capitalists and labours.
Thus, the movie was often interpreted as a propaganda movie and being criticized. At the beginning of
the movie, it highlights some differences between one category of people called heads, which is a
metaphor that represents rulers or capitalists and the other one called hands, which represents workers
in a capitalist society. The former, who live in a highly developed city above the ground, are pictured
lively, dress nicely, and seem to have a satisfiable life, whereas the latter, who live in deep under the
ground, live deadly and seem to have lost their humanity because of the exceeded workload. Karl
Marx developed the theory of alienation that explains the function of the capitalist society causes
separation, dehumanization of workers, and disenchanting effects of hard work (Marx, 1932, p. 324).
Among four types of alienation that Marx provides; alienation from the product, alienation from
labour process, alienation from one another, and alienation from species being, the first one explains
that what the workers made does not actually belong to them but capitalists (Marx, 1932, p. 325, 326).
Furthermore, the process of activities of workers are also estranged from them because workers
externalize their ability to work, labour power, to the object, but that labour power is controlled by
capitalist and exists outside of workers (Marx, 1932, p. 324). As we saw in the movie, those are
workers that who spend 10 hours a day at the workplace and devote themselves producing
productions; however, those productions end up belonging to capitalists. For example, trains cars,
clothes, and those other commodities are made by hands but it is head that who actually uses them.
Consequently, in the capitalist society,

Exemplary Post 24 Points
932086 Jimenez Hi Linda,
Exemplary Original Post 24 points: This is a wonderful post. Not only did you address all the
discussion prompt questions but the Original Post was well organized and had rich detail. I especially
liked Its known that many pharaohs and high ranking officials would sometime have their servants
depicted in some form of image or sculpture so that when they went to the afterlife they would able to
utilize their skills to help them in their second life . This post shows that you understand the material
and can synthesize the information well. I will caution against something like the Seated Scribe was
royal as this might be a bit of a stretch. He would most certainly be part of the government working
under the king or visar of Egypt, but be a scribe would not be a typical job for a royal. There could be
many reasons he was shown in this position. Also, given that there is a lot more information to
confirm he was indeed a script and, therefore, an important part of the government over being a royal.
Also, I would like to see more of the post in your words instead of quotes, since I want to see how you
would state something and your thoughts.

You have some good points and ideas. The post really wants you to explore similarities in the
artworks. Where the artwork is today does not really tell us anything about the values and beliefs of
those cultures. Also, you were to compare 2 different cultures. In one of you posts, you compare Egypt
to Egypt. In future posts, I will be looking for you all to answer the questions more directly. It is also
better to compare known facts instead of possibilities. So comparing the possibility that the seated
scribe was a royal is not a good comparison point because there is little to no evidence to make the

Red October Case Study
Sleek and modern are just two of the words that the Soviet leadership would use to describe Red
October, the submarine that the Soviet Navy has been looking forward to owning for years.
Furthermore, it is something that Soviet Navy Captain, First Rank Marko Ramius has been looking
forward to commanding for years, albeit for a different reason: he intends to use it as the vehicle of his
defection. Therefore, I predict that the Russians will go to any extreme necessary: deploying their
entire navy, even conducting special black operations against the U.S., to get or destroy Red October.
With the Soviet government and military now aware of Marko s intent, the largest search in modern
naval history commences. Thus it goes without saying: the Soviets ... Show more content on

Dallas have reported that no less than twenty eight attack submarines have been suddenly and
mysteriously deployed, it seems, to the North Atlantic. In addition, other satellites report that the
Soviets newest missile cruisers, destroyers, and frigates are currently in or heading towards the
Norwegian Sea, the entrance of the North Atlantic from the Arctic Ocean. Finally, the National
Security Agency (NSA) has intercepted multiple HF/VHF (high/very high frequency) messages,
indicative of military communications. Upon deciphering them, the analysts find out that the Russian
high command has issued a mysterious order deploying all warships and attack submarines in the
Arctic, Baltic, and Mediterranean fleets, and recalling all strategic missile submarines back to base.
Even the Americans, who are clueless about Ramius intent, can very clearly tell that something has
gone wrong for the Soviets, big time. Conversely, the Soviets understand the threat to its full extent. If
Red October falls, there is the loss of equipment and computers on board, plus the loss of the
submarine itself, as previously

Sexual Harassment Crooks
The more I try to think if people do take sexual harassment too serious, the more I think they are not
taking it serious enough. I believe that is someone feels like they are being harassed sexually, then we
absolutely must take them 100% serious. According to Our Sexuality by Crooks and Baur, sexual
harassment means, Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or
physical conduct of a sexual nature in the workplace or academic setting (Crooks/Baur, 2014, 533). I
don t think we have gone too far in protecting individuals who make charges of sexual harassment. If
someone is making someone feel uncomfortable, sexually, then we need to protect them. In fact, I

Continuously refer to the statement of work or scope document help eliminate scope creep (non
controlled changes in a project). Use a predetermined process of change control and approval to add to
or redefine the scope of the project. 2.2 Observe Performance Once a control process is in place, the
project manager and stakeholders must then balance between being too aggressively involved or too
hands off. Task owners need a reasonable amount of time to complete their tasks. They appreciate
follow up but not constant observation. During the control phase, the project manager must be fully
and actively engaged. Human behavior plays a very large role in controlling the project schedule as it
relate to timely task completion. The project manager must have a keen awareness of what is
happening (or not happening) with the project and must be alert to possible risks. 2.3 Follow Up,
Follow Up, and Follow Up Routinely update the schedule. If a participant is not available during a
normally schedule s update session, arrangements are strongly suggested to get the latest news in
advance so that information can be shared with the rest of the project team and stakeholders. A tried
and true management theory still works management by walking around. Stakeholders, team leaders
and the project manager cannot control a project strictly from their offices. To effectively control a

Thievery Quotes In The Book Thief
Imagine you are a poorly fed citizen, who is living in Germany, during the World War II, what would
you be doing, probably stealing something to fill up your tummy right? It is true that at the
economically unstable period mentioned in the book, thievery is understandable, anything could be
stolen and anyone could be a thief. However, for those who have read and understand the book
thoroughly would acknowledge the importance of Liesel s thievery characteristic.Markus Zusak, in
The Book Thief characterizes Liesel as a thief to compare her theft with mutiny against Nazi
Germany, other rebellious German people and the development of her personal identity. First, Zusak

Zusak as the author, demonstrates Liesel as a thief to compare her with other rebellious Germans.
Throwback to the book Arrival On Himmel Street, death has written Her knees entered the ground.
Her moment had arrived. Still in disbelief, she started to dig. He couldn t be dead. He couldn t be
dead. He couldn t (23), these words indicate the similarities between Liesel and many other Germans
during the period. As we all have known, during World War II, many German families has to suffer
from separation. Childrens are separated from their parents, siblings are supported by each others. Just
like Liesel, many in the time were departed from their parents on their way to their foster parents.
Unfortunately for some of them, their siblings, who share the same journey with them cannot make it
to the destination. Not only Liesel shares faiths with the rebellious German who are affected by the
World War II, she is also experiencing the same feeling that they are sensing. They are all angry, they
are in disbelief, that their loved ones have left them behind in the lonely world. Correspondingly, in
the book The Woman With The Iron Fist, Issa has spoken This is what I have to put up with, these rich
bastards, these lazy swine... (43). These words have spoken for the majority of Germans at the time.
Through the words, the abusive tone of the character Issa, we can clearly see the spark of rebellious.
Although these words were not directly from Liesel, we all know that Who

  • 3. Supply And Demand of Gasoline Essay Supply and Demand: Gasoline I am a husband and a father of four lovely children. We need a large vehicle to haul all of us around town. And of course I would do anything to keep them safe and I always want to provide them with the best. Therefore, after the birth of our fourth child two and a half years ago, my wife and I decided to upgrade our Ford Explorer to a Ford Expedition. We got everything from the side curtain airbags to the TV and DVD player. What we did not know was we also purchased a rather large unleaded gas bill. The first time we filled the tank it cost us roughly $35; today it costs us right around $75 to fill the tank. Obviously the price of gas has increased significantly in the last two years. The price ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Norway is the third largest exporter of crude oil. Three separate strikes over a five month period severely influenced production. The supply of gasoline to various regions of the United States also plays a significant role. The country is divided into five different regions: Gulf Coast, East Coast, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, and West Coast. Some of these areas do not have enough refineries in their own region to support the consumption and therefore need it brought in. For example, the West Coast has very limited pipeline connections from the other regions. It must rely on water shipments and its small amount of refiners for its supply. If something should happen to the water shipments, i.e. a hurricane, tsunami, etc. it would greatly effect the supply of gasoline. The demand of gasoline has increased steadily over the last twenty years. In 1981 the U.S. averaged 6.5 million barrels of gasoline consumption per day. By comparison, in 2004 the U.S. averaged 9.2 million barrels of gasoline consumption per day. For most of this time period, gas prices stayed relatively the same. This is because the U.S. refineries increased their production to meet the demand and maintain the equilibrium price. Also during this same time period worldwide demand for crude oil increased 27%. Crude oil producers also increased their production to meet the demand keeping prices the same. The price of gasoline is affected by many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Benefits Of Zoos In Zoos Do zoos fulfill the needs of the animals? Should animals be kept in only one enclosure for their whole life? Is it worth all the time and money for the animals to be unhappy? Many people think zoos are doing a good job of keeping animals happy in the man made zoos. Because people think that, they support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations where the enclosures aren t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them, zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and damage animals homes. Enclosures in zoos do not provide everything the animal needs. In paragraph 6 in the article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In paragraph 4 of the article Do Animals Lose in Zoos? it says Zoos spend millions of dollars to create bigger and better enclosures to improve the conditions for the animals. In order to build a big zoo, the person who owns the zoo must clear out land for the zoo, which means animals homes will be wiped out. Although the money spent for bigger enclosures gives the animals improved living conditions, it would be much more efficient for the animals to just live in the wild and we wouldn t have to spend so much money for zoos. Instead, the money spent for zoos can be used for more important things such as medical research or even animal preservations. Animal preservations care for animals that can t fend for themselves in the wild and teach people how to help, instead of keeping perfectly capable animals in man made enclosures. Although animals in captivity do live longer, they probably are not happy with their living conditions. Therefore, wild animals should be kept out of zoos, unless they can not survive on their own, then they should be taken to an animal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Fair Trial Summary The New York grand jury indictments including the charge against the former general counsel, Mark Belnick, 55, who was an investigator in the Senates Iran contra hearings in 1987 also accuse Mr. Kozlowski and Mr. Swartz of bribing a Tyco board member and several Tyco employees, apparently to try to keep their scheme secret. • 8. The Debate Over Nuclear Waste It is established that energy cannot be created nor destroyed and it could not be made out of nothing according the law of conservation of energy. The way that science explains the phenomenon of energy conservation is by portraying the conservation of energy as a physical transfer of energy between mediums through various forms such as heat, sound, and light. Since the discovery of fire in the early days of humanity, it can be understood that heat is the most versatile form of energy. On the expense of sacrificial physical matter, heat is produced particularly natural resource such as fossil fuels. While time progresses, the anticipated rate of decrease in fossil fuels has lead to the exploration of prospectively innovative long term energy supplies. Nevertheless, like fossil fuels, injurious resources have professed many questions regarding the discarding of nuclear waste. This controversy paper will be mainly focusing on the question of whether nuclear waste can be disposed of safely. Contrasting on the issues with fossil fuels, the depletion of nuclear resources cannot tangibly be consumed. Relatively when creating heat by utilizing fossil fuels, nuclear resources do not breakdown into individual byproducts for example, carbon dioxide and water. In contrast, electrical power plants use nuclear resources such as uranium and plutonium pellets. When these nuclear resources are used, they remain undamaged and become considered as consumed fuel once it reaches an industrial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. North Dallas Forty vs. Any Given Sunday Essay example Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty, made over 25 years apart, are two of the most famous football movies ever made. Both of these movies focus on an examination of American values as seen through the lens of a professional sport, both on and off the field. Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty do indeed have many striking similarities. Furthermore, it seems that both movies try to give a detailed depiction on the corporate mentality of modern day professional football; while at the same time, still working to deliver a traditional, likeable sports flick. Though there is a large time gap between the two films, they have similar messages and much in common. In Any Given Sunday, Oliver Stone takes on professional football, a sport, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both films focus on characters struggling to stay successful in professional football and deal with pressures off the field. In North Dallas Forty, Phil Elliott is in such terrible shape, so in order to get through a game, it requires drugs, tape, and much padding. He is only able to compete in games when he is hopped up on painkillers, which are conveniently provided to him by management. His cynicism and independent spirit is looked upon as troublesome by team coaches. Eventually, the Bulls management team benches Elliot after manipulating him to help train a fellow teammate. Many similar things happen in Any Given Sunday. Cap Rooney, an older quarterback struggles to succeed, as the new owner balks at renewing his contract. However, unlike Elliot, Rooney s coach fights for his spot on the team and wants him to play for the Sharks. Unfortunately, he ends up getting hurt and is replaced by a third string rookie quarterback. Just as management in North Dallas Forty gives away drugs, the doctor in Any Given Sunday also saw nothing wrong with administering drugs to assist players in making sure they got on the field no matter what. Both movies demonstrate the fact that the game of football has changed from a true sport into a business. In its own way, each film shows the passing of older generations and ... • 10. Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer Essay In the novel Into Thin Air, the author Jon Krakauer shows us two characters who have some similarities, yet are markedly different. Rob Hall and Scott Fischer are both world renowned mountain climbers as well as the leaders and head guides of their own mountain climbing enterprises. Each employ the respect of his peers, yet here is where the similarities end. With differences in their physical stature, climbing styles, and safety concerns, it would seem that one was destined to succeed and other to fail. Krakauer describes Hall as being a thirty five year old man standing at six foot three or four and skinny as a pole (31). His approach to climbing and guiding was meticulous and demanding. Hall maintained that his clients climbed as a cohesive group as well as enforcing the turn around times with the notable exception of the summit climb. Showing genuine concern for his Sherpa help, Hall made sure his clients understood their importance and was cavillous of other expedition leaders indifference to their Sherpa help. While most people would agree that wisdom comes with age and recklessness is for the young, such is not the case with Scott Fischer. Fischer, in stark contrast to Hall, was a man of forty with a very athletic build. Fischer was very passionate about climbing and had a strong desire to be the best yet his approach to climbing was reckless with little respect for his own welfare. Krakauer writes, If the name of Hall s business, Adventure Consultants, mirrored his methodical, fastidious approach to climbing, Mountain Madness was an even more accurate reflection of Scott s personal style. By his early twenties, he had developed a reputation for a harrowing, damn the torpedoes approach to ascent (62). Like Hall, Fischer had prior successful climbs, although on many occasions he had some climbing mishaps which could have cost him his life. Fischer did not have the flair for publicity like Hall creating the inability to gain many sponsorships in his climbing career. Like Hall, Fischer also climbed the summit of Mt. Such protection and attention involve the necessities such as food, medical care, clothing, as well as shelter (Conte 7). In addition, lack of proper supervision for the young children for an extended duration of time is also child neglect. There are various signs of possible neglect. These include; inconsistent school attendance, evidence that health care is not being provided for in a child, or lack of proper hygiene (Conte 9). Comparisons a lot of people make is that cross country and track are the same thing, but those two sports are entirely different. Both do deal with running, but the differences are very major and they go much as to change the workouts done for the sports. More comparisons that are mostly said that if a runner enjoys long distance running then they also should go out for track since it has long distance events. Even though it has those events it doesn t change the fact the two are very different. Cross country mostly deals with long distance running, but its running on a grass and on hills. The works one would have to do to prepare for cross country meets would be transitions of 400 mile repeats, long runs that could be around five to ten miles on grass, gravel, or muddy, and dreaded hill workouts. • 15. Coca Cola Advertising Research Priming and Its Effects on Advertisement Ratings of Coca Cola Why are some advertisements more appealing than others? Can people be influenced to like certain advertisements more than others? People are constantly surrounded by ads that try to persuade them to buy certain products instead of others. These ads are geared to appeal to certain cultures, such as individualist cultures and collectivist cultures. In individualist cultures, people think of being an individual strive to be independent and different from other individuals. Therefore, individualist thought processes involve traits, states, or behaviors (e.g. I am honest ) (Trafimow, Triandis, Goto, 1991, p. 649). In collectivist cultures, on the other hand, people think of themselves as part of a group and strive to do their best to contribute to the group. Therefore, collectivist thought processes involve group memberships that involve family, society, race, gender, or other groups (e.g. I am a son ) (Trafimow, et al., 1991, p. 649). Little research has been done on whether or not individualistic and collectivistic thoughts can be manipulated to prefer certain advertisements. This experiment attempts to demonstrate that the thought process can be manipulated by priming to prefer advertisements that are different from cultural upbringing. Many researchers have wondered about the influence culture and upbringing has on people. This had led many researchers to study the different aspects of self, such as ... Adversity is something everyone encounters at some juncture in their life. Many people concede in the face of adversity, while many people persevere through the struggles they face daily. Jennette Walls wrote The Glass Castle, a memoir that unmasked the dark mysteries of The Walls Family s onerous life. She continuously proves that no one s background they can make it through the adversity in their lives. Jeannette captivates the readers by using rhetorical devices. She utilizes symbolism so she can express the importance of certain objects in her life, imagery to include emotion and enthusiasm, and irony to add a little humor to the book. Objects can prove to be the cause of some of the most impactful features or events in someone s life. Once he finished work on the Prospector and we struck it rich, he d start work on our Glass Castle. (Walls 25). The Prospector was a symbol of aspiration, she wanted to have a more exciting and fulfilling life. The Glass Castle is quite impactful in Jeannette s life, it gave her hope for a better life. However it s not just that, it s confidence in her father. While the travesty that is the Trump administration marches forward, it is interesting to point out that many of Trump s policies serve to continue the economic decline of many Americans, most notably those in his own base. Trump supporters have spent the past year and a half blinding themselves to facts rather then give up their carnival barker who spews feel good phrases about building walls and putting political opponents in jail. But who cares what a person s policy agenda turns out to be as long as they are saying what you want to hear? The rules require banks with assets of over $50 billion to hold up to 3% of their proceeds in cash or highly liquid securities in order to avoid bank failure in the case of another crash. The problem for banks is that they now can t use that small percentage of low yielding assets to turn a profit on, and this makes them very sad. You see, bank CEOs don t really care if their banks fail and millions of American are left in a lurch due to a lack of this protection. They simply want to make as much profit as possible and let the potential carnage to the markets be damned that s because the executives of a bank can walk away with all their money, while leaving a decimated stock market behind. Another aspect of the plan is that large banks must submit resolution plans to regulators each year detailing how their institution could be dissolved without harming financial markets. And this is terrible for banks because, I don t know, extra paperwork? • 18. A Consensus On Our Policy Analysis Framework In this paper I will be discussing how our class came to a consensus on our policy analysis framework. To understand what we are attempting to accomplish, you need to understand the denotation of policy analysis. Policy analysis is a technique used in public administration so individuals can evaluate and scrutinize policies. Policy analysis is not only limited to policy s that are already enacted, policy analysis can be used to analyze perspective policy s. There are already a handful of policy analysis frameworks available for use. These include: Chambers 2009, Gilbert and Terrell 2009, Popple and Leighninger 2004, and Dobelstein 2003. Many of the frameworks are heavily influenced by the work of Eveline Burns, who was prevalent in the 1940 s and 1950 s. While these frameworks would have been suitable to use for our analysis our class chose to create our own framework to help with analysis. In these next few paragraphs I will explain how and why we chose what we did. The first part of our policy analysis framework that we made was the goals and objectives section. We took this specific concept from Chambers framework, although many of the other frameworks also use this concept. The class came to a consensus as to what the definition would mean specifically. We all chose to measure the policy s intended impact, as well as the policy s actual impact. We also agreed on that participation in the program helps as a stepping stone for these individuals. What we mean by this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Panselectionism Vs Pluralism I am reminded of learning that when air rushes out of a flat tire, it isn t being squeezed out, it is merely not being completely contained and the kinetics of matter in the gas phase are sufficient to allow the tire to deflate to equilibrium with the atmosphere. At first this seemed like a linguistic matter and mostly irrelevant. For most people it is a completely irrelevant nuance, but not for physicists and chemists who are using the principles of effusion to separate isotopes of radioactive uranium. Similarly, while a discussion regarding the difference between panselectionism and pluralism will sedate most readers into a state of drooling submission, the critique issued by Gould and Lewontin should be considered carefully by evolutionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several alternatives to panselectionism are presented and are generally all a variation on the neutral theory of molecular evolution (printing should pend inquiry regarding the lack of credit to Motoo Kimura for development of said theory). This hypothesis proposes that random genetic drift plays a dominant role in genetic evolution with selection playing a minor supporting role. In the section titled Telling Stories, the authors criticize scientists who ignore and/or marginalize the more likely explanation of neutral theory in favor of the archaic approach of justifying every identifiable characteristic of an organism as beneficial and inventing an often completely untestable hypothesis for its utility. I heartily agree with this objection I have long felt that the field of evolutionary biology is weakened every time the phrase over millions of years is uttered (and it is uttered far beyond the point of cliché), and every time a biologist duplicitously represents that selection happens without values and judgment (of course), and then proceeds to describe the various features in terms of survival value and utility. As the authors point out, the mere existence of a good fit between organism and environment is insufficient evidence for inferring the action of natural selection (593). Finally, the authors invoke Darwin himself in order to remind readers that He was patently pluralist and bristled at being portrayed as a panselectionist although as Gould and Lewontin note, we do not now regard all of Darwin s subsidiary mechanisms as significant or even valid ... • 25. Theme Of Alienation In The Movie Metropolis The silent film, Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang, released in 1927, reflects the social situation of the time in Germany during the Weimar Period, before the rise of Hitler power. At that time, there was a new political climate, which was in favor of an equity oriented fascism rather than liberty oriented capitalism. The film clearly gives viewers an idea that fascism way of the political system is the preferable ideology for the society by depicting the class struggles between capitalists and labours. Thus, the movie was often interpreted as a propaganda movie and being criticized. At the beginning of the movie, it highlights some differences between one category of people called heads, which is a metaphor that represents rulers or capitalists and the other one called hands, which represents workers in a capitalist society. The former, who live in a highly developed city above the ground, are pictured lively, dress nicely, and seem to have a satisfiable life, whereas the latter, who live in deep under the ground, live deadly and seem to have lost their humanity because of the exceeded workload. Karl Marx developed the theory of alienation that explains the function of the capitalist society causes separation, dehumanization of workers, and disenchanting effects of hard work (Marx, 1932, p. 324). Among four types of alienation that Marx provides; alienation from the product, alienation from labour process, alienation from one another, and alienation from species being, the first one explains that what the workers made does not actually belong to them but capitalists (Marx, 1932, p. 325, 326). Furthermore, the process of activities of workers are also estranged from them because workers externalize their ability to work, labour power, to the object, but that labour power is controlled by capitalist and exists outside of workers (Marx, 1932, p. 324). As we saw in the movie, those are workers that who spend 10 hours a day at the workplace and devote themselves producing productions; however, those productions end up belonging to capitalists. For example, trains cars, clothes, and those other commodities are made by hands but it is head that who actually uses them. Consequently, in the capitalist society, ... This post shows that you understand the material and can synthesize the information well. I will caution against something like the Seated Scribe was royal as this might be a bit of a stretch. He would most certainly be part of the government working under the king or visar of Egypt, but be a scribe would not be a typical job for a royal. There could be many reasons he was shown in this position. Also, given that there is a lot more information to confirm he was indeed a script and, therefore, an important part of the government over being a royal.
