The Economy Of Mexico s Macroeconomics
The economy of Mexico is the 15th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 11th largest by
purchasing power parity, according to the International Monetary Fund . Since the 1994 crisis,
administrations have improved the country s macroeconomic fundamentals.
Mexico was not significantly influenced by the recent 2002 South American crisis, and maintained
positive, although low, rates of growth after a brief period of stagnation in 2001. Mexico was one of
the Latin American nations most affected by the 2008 recession with its gross domestic product
contracting by more than 6 percent. In spite of the Mexican economy s unprecedented macroeconomic
stability, which was reduced inflation and interest rates to record lows and has increased

Power and Politics Paper
Power and Politics Paper
Power and Politics are necessary influences in most organizations today. Power is not a necessary evil
and is most often contained within the position of authority. Politics is a little harder to describe.
People often see it when an individual is attempting to influence a decision or position within an
organization without a formal role or authority. In this paper I will analyze an organizational
management and leadership practices that impact organizations. I will also provide a couple real world
examples of the relationships between power and politics and how this relates to management and
leadership practices.

The organization was opening a temporary location in Overland Park, Kansas to recruit pharmacists
and technicians for a national mail order pharmacy. We had quarterly training meetings and other
unofficial gatherings in Denver prior to opening a new location in Kansas. The chief executive officer
was looking for an individual willing to relocate temporarily to the Kansas area for the length of the
contract. The individual selected as the new regional manager for the area could meet on several
occasions with the chief executive officer, chief technical officer and vice president of operations and
was offered the assignment to run the new location. He was swayed leadership to select him for the
opportunity. An example of power and politics in an organization would be Jerry Jones of the Dallas
Cowboys. Jerry Jones has legitimate power over the Dallas Cowboys and it is mostly absolute. Jerry is
the owner and general manager and makes the majority of the decisions affecting the Dallas Cowboys.
Jerry embarked on a vision to build a new stadium in Arlington, TX costing over $1.5 billion dollars.
When originally announced by franchise owner Jerry Jones in 2004, the plans for a new stadium for
the National Football League s (NFL) Dallas Cowboys carried a price tag of $650 million dollars. The

Anime Of Anime And Anime
Period 1/4 History of Anime
Manga and anime are a huge part in American and the Japanese culture. Anime and Manga were once
used for war, propaganda, and recruitment, but is now used for entertainment and leisure. Anime was
not just created by one man but by many working together. Anime has had a long line of history
causing it to become more and more loved throughout the years. It not only caused Japan a great deal
of money and working jobs but it also influenced more people to see the brighter things in life. Manga
was not only just important in anime s history but it was the cause of it. The time line of huge success
in anime started in 1914 with the first manga being created.
World War II was a big part in anime history with the nation being mobilized in which the anime and
manga industry evolved quite a lot. The war caused that government to force people to conform to the
government or pay a high price. Those that didn t cooperate were banned from writing, given
preventive detention, and sometimes even social ostracism. People who spent most of their lives
criticizing and judging the government did an about face and offered support to militarists. Those who
followed the government s command Were rewarded with support from their community and
rehabilitation programs. During that time the government used the few remaining artists, who were
not in the military or banned from working; to influence their country through

Enuma Elish Research Paper
8. Enuma Elish
Just like many ancient civilizations, the Babylonians creation myth and cosmogonic myth were the
approximately 1100 lines of an epic poem referred to as the Enuma Elish.
Dating as far back as Babylon circa, 1200 BCE, the transcripts are therefore set long before time,
when only chaos reigned supreme. Indeed the manuscript describes a heroic battle between Marduk
the Babylonian patron god and Tiamat the alleged godmother of all living. Consequently, the poem
heralds a vivid description of the original god Apsu and goddess Mummu Tiamat, the amalgamation
of two water bodies to create all the other gods as well as thereafter the patron god Marduk. Tiamat
then begins to give birth to monsters that terrify the gods because they are powerful and indomitable.
Subsequently, after the defeat Tiamat in addition to her evil offspring, who were filled with divine
power, Marduk used Tiamat s dead body to create the firmament between the heaven and the earth, in
addition to the earth as well as Sheol and the blood of her general to create man. Though the role of
the Enuma Elish was for the ancient Babylonians to understand how creation came to be, they
believed it as fact. Furthermore, it gave them a purpose and an elucidation of how they came to ...

Globalization Chapter Summary
Globalization
Globalization has recently become one of the words which define our aera. So what does globalization
mean? When writing this book the author M. Steger must have come across many challenges
associated with writing. The term globalization describes a number of accelerating economic, cultural,
political, and historical and many other processes which are dramatically quickly changing our
society. Many writers who are trying the explain globalization focus mostly of one aspect of the term.
However, globalization is a set of interconnected social processes and the author Steger has realized it.
Therefore he explains many aspects in order to keep his readers constantly aware of the cooperation
between the individual processes which are responsible for globalization as a concept.
The book starts with deconstructing Osama bin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is said that globalization is a new phenomenon. However, Steger does not agree with this statement.
He claims that whether globalization constitutes a new phenomenon depends upon how far we are
willing to extend the chain of causation that resulted in those recent technologies and social
arrangements that most people have come to associate with fashionable buzzword. (Steger p.18) he
gives us examples of how cultural exchanges can be traced back to the prehistoric period. It began
when prehistoric tribes settled, created villages and were able to defeat or unified wandering tribes. It
continued within the premodern period and inventions such as a wheel which improved transportation
of people and goods and allowed better trade. Later with the early modern period with the rise of the
European centres, merchants, material accumulation and foundation of so called capitalism. The
modern period saw the Industrial Revolution and improvements in technology. Consequently, there is
the contemporary period and its worldwide interdependencies including economic, political or ICT

Trade Unions And The Workplace
Trade Unions are organisations and purpose is to look after employees in the workplace and protect
their rights. The way trade unions work, is that an employee needs to become a member of a specific
trade union, pays a fee to invest in the union s operations. In turn trade unions help employees with
things such as health and safety in the workplace, protection from discrimination, proper pay and
leave entitlements, making sure that the workers rights are protected etc. Unions also aim to protect
the interests of a union member for example, they commence campaigns and negotiations for
increased pay rates and they also try to improve working conditions such as health and safety.

be detailed below. NES RIGHTS: The National Employment Standards are ten rights the employees
are entitled to and they all apply to any worker in any job. The minimum NES rights include
provisions relating to the number of hours worked, such as the right to work no more than a maximum
weekly total of hours, and the right to request flexible working arrangements (including variation of
hours). Parental leave and Related Entitlements should be available to all non casual employees that
have family responsibilities. Annual leave is another provision under the NES rights to which all (non
casual) employees are entitled, and allows employees to take holidays. When an employee is ill, or has
family issues etc, Personal Carer s and Compassionate leave entitles them to take time off to deal with
their problems. Community service leave includes employees such as casual workers who can have
leave for certain activities such as voluntary emergency management activities and so forth. Public

Violence Is A Straightforward Premise
Violence has a straightforward premise. We have a tendency to focus on what Žižek calls subjective
violence: demonstrations of strike, murder, dread and war. However, there are two different
assortments of target brutality: the symbolic violence found in speech , and systemic violence, the
often catastrophic consequences of the functioning of our economic and political systems . Žižek then
embarks to break down these types of objective violence, however he winds up concentrating totally
on the systemic assortment.
What never ceases to surprise is how the very same people who commit terrible acts of violence
towards their enemies can display warm humanity and gentle care for the members of their own
group. The display of contradictions is not in the least pointless: all the time it drives Žižek to turn up
real gems. His analysis of the suspect motivations of what he calls liberal communists the informed,
liberal working classes is a good example of parody: Liberal communists also love the student protests
which shattered France in May 1968: what an explosion of youthful energy and creativity! However a
main idea that stood out to me the most, was his idea on tolerance: My duty to be tolerant towards the
Other effectively means that I should not get too close him, intrude on his space. In other words, I
should respect his intolerance of my over proximity.
Philosopher Karl Popper further expands on Žižek s idea of Tolerance, by labeling it the Paradox of

Honor in Henry Iv, Part I – Falstaff vs. Hotspur
Honor In Henry IV, Part I – Falstaff vs. Hotspur
According to F. Scott Fitzgerald, The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing
ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. Indeed, very few people have this
quality, the playwright William Shakespeare being one of them. In many of his plays, Henry IV, Part
One among them, Shakespeare juxtaposes different worldviews, ideologies, and even environments.
His characters usually provide a clear example of a split among them in one of many perspectives.
One of his characters in Henry IV —Falstaff—is first seen as an endearing, uproariously funny
scoundrel and later reveals himself more of a lowlife with his view of honor—he seems ... Show more

He says I like not such grinning honor as Sir Walter hath: give me life, which if I can save, so; if not,
honor comes unlocked for, and there s an end. (V, iii) Thus, honor is, as Falstaff says, nothing more
than a word, for it expresses a concept, which can be conveniently twisted to support whatever side of
any battle that one is on.
Hotspur, on the other hand, is always seen as honorable even though he has caused this whole war;
there is no way, therefore, for anyone to correctly say what brings honor and what dishonors. The
second time the word honor appears in the play, it is on the lips of Hotspur, who is damning the King
and urging his father and Worcester to redeem / [their] banish d honors and [to] restore [them]selves...
(I, iii). The reader can easily see Shakespeare s notion that the concept of honor and its embodiment
seldom come together in the reality of a single person—certainly the way that Hotspur wants his father
and uncle to redeem themselves (by dethroning the king) is not very honorable, yet his honor is from
battles won in the king s name. So despite his treasonous thoughts, his honor from battle remains with
him for the rest of his life, as even the prince calls him valiant. (V, i) Both Hotspur and the King
believed in the undegenerate chivalric conception of honor, which was a lofty one. Under it, trial by
battle, and war, became religious affairs. Hotspur also talks of honor as a symbol for a trophy of
victory: he

Since the publication of the experiment report management and the worker in 1939(Gillespie, 1991)
the Hawthorne studies have been playing an important role in management, psychology and sociology.
Hawthorne studies were the foundation for the modern day management thinking. Hawthorne studies

Advice From Nel Gaiman Analysis
TAKING ADVICE FROM NEIL GAIMAN There is a multitude of advice I will receive as I make my
path in the career of art and these are just two two the many; When you start out on a career in the arts
you have no idea what you are doing (Gaiman, 2012). and If you have an idea of what you want to
make, what you were put here to do, then just go and do that (Gaiman, 2012). I chose these pieces of
advice from Gaiman s address because as a beginning artist, it is the advice I have heard most from
those with experience. The people I look up to and whose work I admire, the people who have jobs in
the field they want or a large following of people who support their work all give the same advice. I
feel that it is because once you get to that point in your career, you have been in the exact same spot

Economic Differences Of Physical Geography Of India And India
Physical Geography, in many ways impact what humans do. Multiple states do things similarly and
differently because of the physical environment. China and India and Pakistan similarly have a high
population density near rivers and have a higher economy due to their physical location; however,
they contrast because India and Pakistan use bodies of water for politics, while China uses bodies of
water for economic advantages. India similarly has high population rates near rivers to China. The

Benefits And Benefits Of Pay And Reward Strategies
Several pay and reward strategies can be adopted by organisations. However, each of the strategies
involves issues that must be considered as it could affect the employees and the organisation.
Therefore, it is vital that each organisation implement and develop certain pay and reward strategies,
which are aligned with its own business strategies. This will ensure that perspectives of employees,
employers and the costs are all considered in the course of the application of each strategy. The aim of
this essay is to explain and evaluate the main pay and reward strategies adopted by organisations as
well as the benefits and disadvantages of each. Graded pay, broad banding graded pay, labour market
related pay, performance related pay and total reward which includes financial and non financial
rewards will all be explained in detail and evaluated as well as the benefits and drawbacks of each.
Gilmore and Williams (2013) suggest that one of the most important Human Resource Management
activities in any organisation is reward management such as pays and benefits as well as non financial
rewards which is also referred to as intrinsic rewards since this can have a strong impact on recruiting
new people and retaining existing employees. In addition to this, Bartol and Locke (2000) and Caruth
and Hand logten (2001) explains that financial rewards satisfy employees basic needs for survival
such as security and recognition at work and intrinsic rewards are the psychological enjoyment

Cinderella And The Little Glass Slipper
Cinderella is a well beloved folktale following the life of a kind hearted heroine trapped in an abusive
household, yet despite the obstacles faced, she manages to attend a ball and eventually receives her
happily ever after. The story has been reinterpreted in numerous countries where it is estimated that
there are nearly seven hundred versions out there. With the continuous popularity of Cinderella, there
has been much criticism concerning the representation of Cinderella and the effects it has on the
female demographic. By analyzing Cinderella s gender representation of a particular version in
accordance to generated criticism related to the effects it has on the female demographic, it can be
determined that as new renditions are being created over time, it can be noticed that Cinderella s
gender representation are gradually becoming more independent, and active.
Charles Perrault s Cinderella or The Little Glass Slipper was published in 1697. It is considered to be
one the most prevalent reinterpretations of the classic story. Perrault s version was addressed largely to
an adult and highly sophisticated audience (Cullen 57). For this reason, Perrault seldom emphasizes
the details of Cinderella s mistreatment and instead shifts the stories focus on the moral and
materialistic concerns related to his audience in order to to please [his] aristocratic audience (Tatar
189). Accordingly, Perrault portrayed Cinderella to be dependent, self sacrificing, and exhibits

Critique Of The Nutcracker
On November 25, 2017 I attended The Nutcracker ballet performance at the Eisemann Center. The
dance was adapted from a story by E.T.A Hoffman with the music by Tchaikovsky. The show was a
faithful adaptation of The Nutcracker with the dancers, costumes, sets, and Tchaikovsky s music all
playing an integral part in depicting the story in an entertaining way. Overall, the presentation was
successful in portraying the holiday classic that is The Nutcracker, and the majestic sets and costumes
along with the music allowed for sustained attention and spectacle that was still true to the narrative of
The Nutcracker. The production did this by having grand, bright costumes and sets that resembled the
time period of The Nutcracker and depicted the setting of the dances, the original music by
Tchaikovsky which was able to produce the emotions that come with the story, and lighting techniques
that showed the weather and time of day which helped show what scenes were being told throughout
the performance. While observing this dance ballet, there were many things that caught my attention.
First, the theater itself was extremely large, and the stage itself was big, and the dancers had plenty of
room to move across the stage and perform their routines. There were many dancers, and they all
played various roles that ranged from Clara, Fritz, Herr Drosselmeyer, the Rat King, the Nutcracker,
the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, and many more. All of the performers wore vivid costumes

How To Write A Paper On Totem Poles
Did you ever wonder what these scary looking figures were that was on totem poles? Totem poles

elephant, lotus, dolphin, dog and the color blue because they represent my story. The first item I chose

The State Of Eastland s Waste Disposal Regulation
SUMMARY OF ARGUMENT
The decision of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals should be affirmed. The state of Eastland s waste
disposal regulation is neither discriminatory nor protectionist. Historically, businesses and
professionals know that licensing requirements and authority belong solely to states and local
governments. A state government does not violate the commerce clause when it sets licensing
requirements for incineration and interment of fetal tissues pursuant to its autonomy and police
powers in carrying out local activities that have always been its traditional function to ensure the
health and safety of its citizens. Also, a state acts legitimately and fairly when having funded a public

This case is distinguishable from Carbone, Inc. v. Clarkstown. Indeed, it is hard to imagine two cases
that are factually more distinct, as Carbone involved a state favoring a single private business and our

they are strictly in the business for profit. And it s a widely known fact that when people engage in

both in state and out of staters are free without restriction to operate in all other regions of the state

Singing Research Paper
Singing
Music speaks what cannot be expressed soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it
whole, flows from heaven to the soul . Anonymous. Music can be a big part of people s everyday life
to calm down, to have fun, but do they really know the progress it takes to make those songs, to sing
them? There is a progress leading up to making the perfect song. Like the voice pitch, the warm ups so
the voice isn t scratchy, but is warmed up and ready for singing, and the type of genre that the artist is
singing. There are many different types of voice tones. Like, Sopranos, Altos, Bass, Tenors, Soprano

Is it rap, pop, opera? Exactly we need to know, but how many genres are there? Well there s rap/hip
hop music, it isn t really sung more like saying something really fast with a cool beat. Pop is written
songs from the heart based on a tune of the artists choice with meaningful lyrics at times. Opera is
good when singing if a Soprano, Soprano one, or Soprano two. Because of how high the voice is, but
for when it s good for how low the voice is. Country music, well that s another story. Country is like a
mix of all types of voice ranges made into a good song about drinking and heartbreak. Like Carrie
Underwood is a country singer and her voice range is a Soprano. And as for Luke Bryan he is also a
country singer and he is a High Baritone. So as we can see everyone has a different voice range, genre

Assess The Importance Of Feedback In Student Education
Reporting to both students and parents/carers is an important skill and part of being a teacher.
Reporting to students in the form of feedback is a critical element of the learning cycle. Incorporating
a range of effective strategies for providing students with feedback can advance students
understanding and development. Lacing instruction with correctional feedback will result in the
production of new instruction (Hattie Timperley, 2007, p.82). The combination of instruction and
feedback gives students the next step they need to take to develop a deeper understanding. For
feedback to provide any meaning to students it must link to the task at hand and be provided in a
timely manner. Sadler, as cited in Hattie and Timperley (2007, p.82) point out that feedback should
provide students with a stepping stone from what they understand to what is to be understood. The
feedback given to students to bridge the gap between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents/carers are also invested in the development of student education. The aspects of their child s
education that parents/carers are interested in are the progress they are making, their strengths and
weaknesses, their development in comparison to other children and what they can do at home to help
(Cohen et al., as cited in Kivunja, 2015, p.385). It is the teachers responsibility to keep parents/carers
informed and attend to any concerns they may have. In addition to mid year and end of year reports
there are a number of strategies teachers can take to keep parents/carers informed. Readman and Allen
(2013, p.159) have identified a phone call or letter home, or an entry into a student diary that is to be
sighted and signed off by a parent/carer as some effective strategies to report students progress. It is
important for teachers to communicate through these strategies to keep parents/carers aware of their
child s progress and there are no surprises when reports are sent

Foreign Direct Investment (Fdi) in Bangladesh
Abstract
The issue of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has been receiving phenomenal attention from many
governments. Bangladesh is not lagging behind from it. Economic development for the developing
countries like Bangladesh is largely dependent on FDI. The major challenges for the host country are
to ensure an eye catching and conducive investment climate to foreign investors for FDI inflow. In
recent years, Bangladesh has been devoting efforts for attracting FDI offering a lot of lucrative
incentives and benefits. Though attempts taken to increase FDI inflow, the result achieved is not ...

All Weddings Have Memorable Moments
All weddings have memorable moments. Memorable moments serve as highlights, or lowlights,to
recall on subsequent anniversaries. Some, like ours, still cause my heart to palpitate as I recall that ill
conceived phone call. To understand its significance you must understand that I began our courtship as
a fourth stringer behind Doug, Harry and John (Names are changed to protect the guilty). All had had
significant relationships with my June when I joined the taxi squad. None were on waivers. All were
still in contention for capturing the coveted starter position as fiancée. I was perhaps the weakest
suitor in terms of wealth and personality, but I had the strength of physical position since we both
taught in the same school system, in the same building, only two floors apart. The other contenders
lived miles away. My June always says that timing is everything which was the case in our courtship.
At that point in her life she was a willing receiver for my passes and after a whirlwind courtship she
succumbed to my naive charms and agreed to be my bride. So it was that I made the jump from fourth
to first string and was the unchallenged game winner or so I thought. Certain things, like that
memorable phone call, are preceded by other plays that a more seasoned starter would have foreseen
as predictive. But I was new at the game. One such play came when I took June to homecoming at the
university from which we had both graduated. We were walking out of a restaurant not

Wearing The United States Army Uniform
Introduction
It is being known that clothes make a man or a woman and by all means, this is a true statement
regarding the United States military. Soldier s uniforms symbolize everything from branch, rank,
position, loyalty, and prestigious. The image of a sharp outfit creates a psychological, moral booster
and spirit de corps of Soldiers. As a general rule, Soldiers are identified by their uniforms. Each
uniform has multiple components that have a legacy and a history behind. Although Soldiers have
pride in wearing the United States Army Uniform, a few of them don t know the origin and purpose of
each part of the uniform. Every part has its purpose, and it was strategically made based on the
necessities in the battlefield.

The Camouflage
Historically, military uniforms were primarily about identity, pride, and recognition; however, at the
beginning of the twentieth century, military uniforms become less decorative and more attuned to the
need of the Soldiers This was the though when it comes to camouflage. A Soldier s life might depend
on it. Camouflage was first understood by hunters as far as from prehistoric time. These hunters
observed and understood how an animal had a protection beyond just teeth and claws. They
discovered that most animals could mix it with a natural background such as trees, leaves, and rocks,
make them undetectable to other animals and humans. The military has little used at the beginning of
these techniques. There are few examples of the use of camouflage in ancient and medieval warfare
because camouflage was rare at that time. A well known example of camouflage was during the 17th
century when William Shakespeare described the medieval warriors that were ready to march on
Macbeth at his fortress at Dunsinane (Newark, Newart, Borsarello, 1996).
The Headgear
The Director of the Non Commissioned Officer Heritage and Education Center, Mr. Mark R. Henry,
stated that historically, nations copy the design of the uniform from the most successful units in
combat and without a doubt, the United States Army did that.

The Id, Ego, and Super-Ego in T.S. Eliot’s The Love Song...
T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is inhabited by both a richly developed world
and character and one is able to categorize the spaces in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock to
correspond to Prufrock s mind. Eliot uses the architecture of the three locations described in the text to
explore parts of Prufrock s mind in the Freudian categories of id, ego, and super ego; the city that is
described becomes the Ego, the room where he encounters women his Id and the imagined ocean
spaces his Super Ego. Eliot is vague in his suggestion of Prufrock s audience, only referring to the
listener once using you and I; (1) however, by analyzing Eliot s intertextual inclusion of the passage

These issues the introversion, the self degradation are joined by a myriad of other psychological
disturbances that are all derived from inability to fulfill sexual desire. The poem becomes an
introspective examining of the faults in the mind of a man. By including the quote from Dante s
Inferno, and creating a character that is so introverted Eliot suggests that Prufrock is examining his
own mind and delving into the most delicate of problems. If one applies the Freudian concepts of id,
ego, and super ego to Prufrock s troubled mind, a clear delineation of three sections is made in the
poem. A short explanation of id ego and super ego is necessary in connecting them to the spaces in the
text. Freud s theory stemmed from a need to classify the parts of the mind . From this stems the
organization of personality into three parts all of which are demonstrated in the Love Song of J. Alfred
Prufrock . The id is the impulsively and instinctually driven section of Freud s personality complex
and is based on seeking pleasure. An especially important factor for Prufrock is that the id
encompasses is sexual desire. It is largely accountable for the unconscious mind. The ego is the most
rationalized and outward facing of the personalities that creates a practical approach in

response to war, because it depicts how all wars cause senseless acts of cruelty, overwhelming sadness

The And Authority Of The New Testament Canon
The traditional interpretation of the development and authority of the New Testament canon is often a
topic of debate and scrutiny; however, Dr. Michael J. Kruger provided an excellent, well written
justification of how the New Testament canon came to be the 27 books known today. Kruger is
President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at
Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Other publications include The Gospel of the
Savior, The Question of Canon, The Heresy of Orthodoxy, Gospel Fragments, and A Biblical
Theological Introduction to the New Testament. His written work has led him to be known as a
scholar in the origins of the New Testament Canon, in particular writings related to the New Testament
Canon.
For centuries people have been perplexed regarding the books of the New Testament canon. Many
Christians have accepted the 27 books in the New Testament Canon but often cannot provide adequate
justification regarding how the canon was established. In Canon Revisited: Establishing the Origins
and Authority of the New Testament Books, Michael J. Kruger provides readers with a glimpse of this
tough question and his response. He offers the readers a response to succinctly justify their acceptance
and understanding of the New Testament canon. In a few short chapters Kruger articulately confronted
this very difficult topic.
Michael Kruger s book is written in two sections on the topic of the canonical model. Section

determines his own destiny and thereby achieves the American dream. Rather than becoming a
salesman as his father had hoped, Biff decided to work with his hands the lifestyle which he new he
could enjoy. The poem Ellis Island said that the American dream is not achieved with the self
determination of Americans, but rather, it is achieved by the theft of self determination from Native
Americans. The line, When the earth became owned , tells the reader that Americans only enjoy
success because they took America, the land of success, from its original residents, the Native
Americans (Bruchac l. 22). The poem America and I mentions the freedom gained once people are
liberated from constant hunger. It says, For the first time in America, I d cease to be a slave of the
belly. I d be a creator, a giver, a human being (Yezierska l. 16 17). When freed from the constant need
to find food, men can put their efforts towards achieving their dreams. In addition to showing the
relations of freedom to the American dream, the authors gave ideas on how the American dream is
achieved.

The Article Fear, Romance, And Transience
The article called Fear, romance, and transience in the lives of homeless women by Radley, Hodgetts
and Cullen was a thought provoking article. I did not grow up in a neighborhood where homeless
people were present, nevertheless; I have learned many assumptions about homeless people through
what I have seen, my family s guidance and by watching numerous television shows and news reports
on television and on the radio. Since these assumptions have been embedded in my life it has become
a norm for me to think about homeless people as different from other humans who are not homeless.
Since I was a child, my parents would always tell me to never talk to strangers and ignore the
homeless because they are dangerous, dirty and poor people. From a young age it was evident that
homeless people were not like everyone else and they should be treated differently. The only place I
have been that has homeless people present is Toronto. I rarely visit Toronto but when I do, I only see
homeless males who usually have beards with low hygiene. In reference to the article this image does
reflect the over representation of men among the street homeless (Radley et al. P. 437. 2006). Now
whenever I go to Toronto and see a man matching this description on the streets I automatically
assume he is homeless. I also assume homeless people are intoxicated. I learned this assumption
because many of the times I have been to Toronto the homeless people are stumbling around. For

Are There Too Many Pressures And Expectations On Teens...
Mrs. Roczniak ENG 4C Monday, December 4, 2017 Option #2 Are there too many pressures and

higher expectations than ever before. It s a well known fact that being a teen is hard and accompanies
its own arrangement of troubles. Teens are expected to do extremely well in school and to have an
idea on what they want to do after school. Teens want to feel like they are welcomed and wanted from
their peers and they will do anything to fit in. Teenagers are also expected to teach themselves in

required at an early stage to do everything right and to have their lives arranged out, teens are
expected to know what they want to do after school where they want to work. For an example, in the

he was on his way into detention his mother said, well mister you figure out a way to study (Hughes,

Comparison Of Cormac Mccarthon In KnoxvilleSummer 1915
The city of Knoxville, Tennessee, located in the Smokey Mountains, was established in 1792, and was
named after Henry Knox, president Washington s Secretary of war. Not only is this city located in the
Smokies, but it also houses many famous attractions such as the Knoxville Zoo, the Tennessee theatre,
old historic Knoxville, and the Sunsphere. Many authors came from this city, and among these are
Cormac Mccarthy, who wrote Suttree in May, 1979, and James Agee, who wrote Knoxville: Summer
1915 in 1957. Both authors relayed the tone of their passages well, a communal tone for Agee and
venomous for Mccarthy, but only one expressed their tone the best. This author was Mccarthy who
established his tone, venomous, through his use of diction throughout the excerpt.
The tone of Knoxville:Summer,1915 by Agee is communal. This is shown where Agee states, ...that of
the father of the families, each in his space of lawn...the hoses were set very much alike...the sound
therefore was pitched much alike...it is habitual to summer nights, and is of the great deal of noise..but
the men by now one by one have silenced their hoses... The quote supports the topic sentence by
showing how the whole community started and stopped watering their grass at about the same time.
The excerpt also shows how they worked like clockwork and were always in sync with one another.
Another piece of text that also supports the tone of communalism is where Agee states, There were

The Effects Of Technology In The Hunger Games
Technology can change human kinds future and present in various ways that they may not notice or
understand. But it is happening everyday and will most likely happen in the future. The book trilogy
The Hunger Games shows this very well as people are tricked and scared by technology, media, and
war.
The Hunger Games is set in the future of North America called Panem, that consists of the wealthy
Capitol and 12 districts in varying states of poverty. The trilogy s protagonist Katniss Everdeen, lives
in District 12, where people regularly die of starvation. As punishment for a past rebellion against the
Capitol, one boy and one girl from each district, are selected to compete in an annual death match
called the Hunger Games. The Games are a televised event in which the participants are forced to fight
to the death in a public arena. The purposes of the Hunger Games are to provide entertainment for the
Capitol and to remind the districts of the Capitol s power and lack of forgiveness for the failed
rebellion of the current competitors ancestors. In this book trilogy the capitol and districts use
futuristic technology and science to fight. Also, the capitol uses technology with media to confuse and
influence people in the country.
Two examples of how they used technology and media to trick people can be seen in these media
effect theories. First is the Spiral of Silence Theory, this is when people who hold minority views on

The goal of the experiment conducted was to determine the correlation, if any, between Texas A M
student alcohol consumption each week and the number of classes missed per week. Given the
abilities and constraints of descriptive statistics, choosing to focus on this type of statistic allowed for
the student to properly view the overall information, since there were many interacting values.
Method
In this study, the participants were randomly selected throughout a two week period (N = 35). The
people were all Texas A M students, ranging from freshman to senior classifications (M = 2.71, SD =
1.07, freshman to senior recorded as 1 to 4). The continuous predictors for this experiment were the
participants ages and how many alcoholic beverages that they said they consumed per week. The
participants had a mean age of of 20.43 (SD = 1.58). The variables in this study were how many
classes a student missed per week, how many hours they were taking, how likely they were to miss
class after a night of drinking, and how enjoyable class was after a night of consuming alcohol. How
likely they were to miss class after a night of drinking and how enjoyable class was the morning after

Studies identified desmin as a new ASB2β target for proteasomal degradation in cardiomyocytes
suggesting accumulation of desmin could contribute to UPS impairment in HCM mice and patients.
Desmin is a muscle specific, type III intermediate filament that integrates the sarcolemma, Z disk, and
nuclear membrane in sarcomeres and regulates sarcomere architecture[43]. Recently ASB2 was found
to be assisting in the ubiquitination of Notch targets such as E2A and Janus kinase 2 by forming a non
canonical E3 ligase complex[44]. Jak2 is likely bound with ASB2, but bound with E2A via F BOX
containing protein, Skp2, also known to associate with Skp1 and Cul1. Moreover, ASB2 was activated
by Notch signaling showing its involvement as regulator of Notch signaling. In multicellular
organisms, Notch signaling pathway is a highly conserved signaling pathway. In spite of the fact that
ASB2 is involved in degrading key proteins involved in cell proliferation and differentiation, more
studies are required to understand the variations occurring in the ASB2 mediated ubiquitylation

The Catholic Faith and Its Postive Outlook Upon the Loss of One s Physical Presence on Earth
In the face of one of the biggest fears known to man death the Catholic faith provides a positive
outlook upon the loss of ones physical presence on earth. Through the life and death of Jesus Christ
(the hypostatic union of son and Father,) a Christocentric theology resolves the mystery of death
through faith and grace. Gods only Sons death grants a Catholic Christian with an answer to the why
of death, resulting in a realistic, yet hopeful attitude toward the loss of the physical being, while
continuing to believe in the flourishing life of the spirit in a realm beyond our understanding. Atheism
has always questioned the essence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A man made in the image of God who saved humanity through love and compassion. But these views
of Christ are also sharply contrasted with the historical Jesus, thus, through Borg s careful analysis of
the scriptures; he brings forth the concepts of a pre Easter Jesus and post Easter Christ.
Borg s attempt to research Jesus is a means to reveal His humanity, to bring forth the concept that He
was not always all good ; that He too had a temper, He too felt pain and sorrow, but at the same time,
He also had compassion and mercy. By doing so, through the careful analysis of scripture, Borg brings
Jesus reality closer to our world; demonstrating that Christ was just as flawed and human as us. This
culminates itself as the final revelation of Gods love, by attempting to save us through a human
example of pure love and compassion. Borg carefully reads into scripture as an oral tale that depicts
certain aspects of the Jesus of faith, but at the same time, brings forth the Jesus of history as a means
of placing this ancient faith in perspective. By doing so Borg proves the essence of the Catholic faith,
proving the atheistic idea of an illusionary faith, to be wrong. This analytical and educated revelation
of Jesus adds a new dimension to the Catholic religion, which brings us closer to our faith. The
Gospels introduce the life of Christ, bringing forth the man, the human being who shapes the Catholic
Christian

The Economy Of Mexico s Macroeconomics The economy of Mexico is the 15th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 11th largest by purchasing power parity, according to the International Monetary Fund . Since the 1994 crisis, administrations have improved the country s macroeconomic fundamentals. Mexico was not significantly influenced by the recent 2002 South American crisis, and maintained positive, although low, rates of growth after a brief period of stagnation in 2001. Mexico was one of the Latin American nations most affected by the 2008 recession with its gross domestic product contracting by more than 6 percent. • 3. Power and Politics Paper Power and Politics Paper Power and Politics are necessary influences in most organizations today. Power is not a necessary evil and is most often contained within the position of authority. Politics is a little harder to describe. People often see it when an individual is attempting to influence a decision or position within an organization without a formal role or authority. In this paper I will analyze an organizational management and leadership practices that impact organizations. I will also provide a couple real world examples of the relationships between power and politics and how this relates to management and leadership practices. Organizational Power Power in an organization is defined as the ability to get someone to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The organization was opening a temporary location in Overland Park, Kansas to recruit pharmacists and technicians for a national mail order pharmacy. We had quarterly training meetings and other unofficial gatherings in Denver prior to opening a new location in Kansas. The chief executive officer was looking for an individual willing to relocate temporarily to the Kansas area for the length of the contract. The individual selected as the new regional manager for the area could meet on several occasions with the chief executive officer, chief technical officer and vice president of operations and was offered the assignment to run the new location. He was swayed leadership to select him for the opportunity. An example of power and politics in an organization would be Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones has legitimate power over the Dallas Cowboys and it is mostly absolute. Jerry is the owner and general manager and makes the majority of the decisions affecting the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry embarked on a vision to build a new stadium in Arlington, TX costing over $1.5 billion dollars. When originally announced by franchise owner Jerry Jones in 2004, the plans for a new stadium for the National Football League s (NFL) Dallas Cowboys carried a price tag of $650 million dollars. Anime has had a long line of history causing it to become more and more loved throughout the years. It not only caused Japan a great deal of money and working jobs but it also influenced more people to see the brighter things in life. World War II was a big part in anime history with the nation being mobilized in which the anime and manga industry evolved quite a lot. The war caused that government to force people to conform to the government or pay a high price. • 5. Enuma Elish Research Paper 8. Enuma Elish Just like many ancient civilizations, the Babylonians creation myth and cosmogonic myth were the approximately 1100 lines of an epic poem referred to as the Enuma Elish. Dating as far back as Babylon circa, 1200 BCE, the transcripts are therefore set long before time, when only chaos reigned supreme. Indeed the manuscript describes a heroic battle between Marduk the Babylonian patron god and Tiamat the alleged godmother of all living. Consequently, the poem heralds a vivid description of the original god Apsu and goddess Mummu Tiamat, the amalgamation of two water bodies to create all the other gods as well as thereafter the patron god Marduk. Tiamat then begins to give birth to monsters that terrify the gods because they are powerful and indomitable. Subsequently, after the defeat Tiamat in addition to her evil offspring, who were filled with divine power, Marduk used Tiamat s dead body to create the firmament between the heaven and the earth, in addition to the earth as well as Sheol and the blood of her general to create man. Though the role of the Enuma Elish was for the ancient Babylonians to understand how creation came to be, they believed it as fact. Furthermore, it gave them a purpose and an elucidation of how they came to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steger must have come across many challenges associated with writing. The term globalization describes a number of accelerating economic, cultural, political, and historical and many other processes which are dramatically quickly changing our society. Many writers who are trying the explain globalization focus mostly of one aspect of the term. However, globalization is a set of interconnected social processes and the author Steger has realized it. He claims that whether globalization constitutes a new phenomenon depends upon how far we are willing to extend the chain of causation that resulted in those recent technologies and social arrangements that most people have come to associate with fashionable buzzword. (Steger p.18) he gives us examples of how cultural exchanges can be traced back to the prehistoric period. It began when prehistoric tribes settled, created villages and were able to defeat or unified wandering tribes. It continued within the premodern period and inventions such as a wheel which improved transportation of people and goods and allowed better trade. Later with the early modern period with the rise of the European centres, merchants, material accumulation and foundation of so called capitalism. • 8. Violence Is A Straightforward Premise Violence has a straightforward premise. We have a tendency to focus on what Žižek calls subjective violence: demonstrations of strike, murder, dread and war. However, there are two different assortments of target brutality: the symbolic violence found in speech , and systemic violence, the often catastrophic consequences of the functioning of our economic and political systems . Žižek then embarks to break down these types of objective violence, however he winds up concentrating totally on the systemic assortment. What never ceases to surprise is how the very same people who commit terrible acts of violence towards their enemies can display warm humanity and gentle care for the members of their own group. The display of contradictions is not in the least pointless: all the time it drives Žižek to turn up real gems. His analysis of the suspect motivations of what he calls liberal communists the informed, liberal working classes is a good example of parody: Liberal communists also love the student protests which shattered France in May 1968: what an explosion of youthful energy and creativity! However a main idea that stood out to me the most, was his idea on tolerance: My duty to be tolerant towards the Other effectively means that I should not get too close him, intrude on his space. In other words, I should respect his intolerance of my over proximity. Philosopher Karl Popper further expands on Žižek s idea of Tolerance, by labeling it the Paradox of ... Scott Fitzgerald, The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. Indeed, very few people have this quality, the playwright William Shakespeare being one of them. In many of his plays, Henry IV, Part One among them, Shakespeare juxtaposes different worldviews, ideologies, and even environments. His characters usually provide a clear example of a split among them in one of many perspectives. One of his characters in Henry IV —Falstaff—is first seen as an endearing, uproariously funny scoundrel and later reveals himself more of a lowlife with his view of honor—he seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He says I like not such grinning honor as Sir Walter hath: give me life, which if I can save, so; if not, honor comes unlocked for, and there s an end. (V, iii) Thus, honor is, as Falstaff says, nothing more than a word, for it expresses a concept, which can be conveniently twisted to support whatever side of any battle that one is on. Hotspur, on the other hand, is always seen as honorable even though he has caused this whole war; there is no way, therefore, for anyone to correctly say what brings honor and what dishonors. The second time the word honor appears in the play, it is on the lips of Hotspur, who is damning the King and urging his father and Worcester to redeem / [their] banish d honors and [to] restore [them]selves... (I, iii). The reader can easily see Shakespeare s notion that the concept of honor and its embodiment seldom come together in the reality of a single person—certainly the way that Hotspur wants his father and uncle to redeem themselves (by dethroning the king) is not very honorable, yet his honor is from battles won in the king s name. So despite his treasonous thoughts, his honor from battle remains with him for the rest of his life, as even the prince calls him valiant. (V, i) Both Hotspur and the King believed in the undegenerate chivalric conception of honor, which was a lofty one. Under it, trial by battle, and war, became religious affairs. They discovered that most animals could mix it with a natural background such as trees, leaves, and rocks, make them undetectable to other animals and humans. The military has little used at the beginning of these techniques. There are few examples of the use of camouflage in ancient and medieval warfare because camouflage was rare at that time. A well known example of camouflage was during the 17th century when William Shakespeare described the medieval warriors that were ready to march on Macbeth at his fortress at Dunsinane (Newark, Newart, Borsarello, 1996). The Headgear The Director of the Non Commissioned Officer Heritage and Education Center, Mr. Mark R. Alfred Prufrock is inhabited by both a richly developed world and character and one is able to categorize the spaces in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock to correspond to Prufrock s mind. Eliot uses the architecture of the three locations described in the text to explore parts of Prufrock s mind in the Freudian categories of id, ego, and super ego; the city that is described becomes the Ego, the room where he encounters women his Id and the imagined ocean spaces his Super Ego. Eliot is vague in his suggestion of Prufrock s audience, only referring to the listener once using you and I; (1) however, by analyzing Eliot s intertextual inclusion of the passage from Dante s Inferno and Prufock s ... These issues the introversion, the self degradation are joined by a myriad of other psychological disturbances that are all derived from inability to fulfill sexual desire. The poem becomes an introspective examining of the faults in the mind of a man. By including the quote from Dante s Inferno, and creating a character that is so introverted Eliot suggests that Prufrock is examining his own mind and delving into the most delicate of problems. If one applies the Freudian concepts of id, ego, and super ego to Prufrock s troubled mind, a clear delineation of three sections is made in the poem. A short explanation of id ego and super ego is necessary in connecting them to the spaces in the text. Freud s theory stemmed from a need to classify the parts of the mind . From this stems the organization of personality into three parts all of which are demonstrated in the Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . The id is the impulsively and instinctually driven section of Freud s personality complex and is based on seeking pleasure. An especially important factor for Prufrock is that the id encompasses is sexual desire. It is largely accountable for the unconscious mind. Exploratory Essay Examples Over the course of this semester, the three essays that I wrote were the exploratory essay, A Cute Condition (12 pages), the personal narrative, Lost and Found (11 pages), and the profile essay, Not for the Faint of Heart (12 pages). After rereading my twelve page exploratory essay, A Cute Condition, I was surprised by how I differently I felt about the essay at this point in the semester compared to when I first turned it in. This was an essay about cuteness and the baby schema effect. It was inspired by Joshua Slice s animations about Lucas the Spider. The And Authority Of The New Testament Canon The traditional interpretation of the development and authority of the New Testament canon is often a topic of debate and scrutiny; however, Dr. Michael J. Kruger provided an excellent, well written justification of how the New Testament canon came to be the 27 books known today. Kruger is President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Other publications include The Gospel of the Savior, The Question of Canon, The Heresy of Orthodoxy, Gospel Fragments, and A Biblical Theological Introduction to the New Testament. His written work has led him to be known as a scholar in the origins of the New Testament Canon, in particular writings related to the New Testament Canon. For centuries people have been perplexed regarding the books of the New Testament canon. Many Christians have accepted the 27 books in the New Testament Canon but often cannot provide adequate justification regarding how the canon was established. In Canon Revisited: Establishing the Origins and Authority of the New Testament Books, Michael J. Kruger provides readers with a glimpse of this tough question and his response. He offers the readers a response to succinctly justify their acceptance and understanding of the New Testament canon. In a few short chapters Kruger articulately confronted this very difficult topic. Rather than becoming a salesman as his father had hoped, Biff decided to work with his hands the lifestyle which he new he could enjoy. The poem Ellis Island said that the American dream is not achieved with the self determination of Americans, but rather, it is achieved by the theft of self determination from Native Americans. The line, When the earth became owned , tells the reader that Americans only enjoy success because they took America, the land of success, from its original residents, the Native Americans (Bruchac l. 22). I did not grow up in a neighborhood where homeless people were present, nevertheless; I have learned many assumptions about homeless people through what I have seen, my family s guidance and by watching numerous television shows and news reports on television and on the radio. Since these assumptions have been embedded in my life it has become a norm for me to think about homeless people as different from other humans who are not homeless. Since I was a child, my parents would always tell me to never talk to strangers and ignore the homeless because they are dangerous, dirty and poor people. From a young age it was evident that homeless people were not like everyone else and they should be treated differently. The only place I have been that has homeless people present is Toronto. I rarely visit Toronto but when I do, I only see homeless males who usually have beards with low hygiene. In reference to the article this image does reflect the over representation of men among the street homeless (Radley et al. P. 437. 2006). Many authors came from this city, and among these are Cormac Mccarthy, who wrote Suttree in May, 1979, and James Agee, who wrote Knoxville: Summer 1915 in 1957. Both authors relayed the tone of their passages well, a communal tone for Agee and venomous for Mccarthy, but only one expressed their tone the best. Method In this study, the participants were randomly selected throughout a two week period (N = 35). The people were all Texas A M students, ranging from freshman to senior classifications (M = 2.71, SD = 1.07, freshman to senior recorded as 1 to 4).
