Azone Research Paper
2.1.7.3.3. Azone and derivatives: Azone (laurocapram, Figure 5) is a highly lipophilic liquid with an
octanol/water partition coefficient of 6.21. It is a chemically stable compound and an excellent solvent
for many drugs. Azone has a low irritating potential, a very low toxicity and nearly no
pharmacological activity (56, 58). It can be used as penetration enhancers for hydrophilic and
lipophilic substances such as steroids, antibiotics and antiviral agents and for peptide molecules as
well, such as insulin and vasopressin (58). The efficacy of Azone is concentration dependent and is
influenced by the choice of vehicle from which it is applied. Azone is most effective at low
concentrations, being employed typically between 0.1% and 5%, often between 1% and 3% (56).

To overcome this issue, many Azone like compounds have been synthesized (55). Modification in the
structure of Azone includes change in: a) The optimal hydrocarbon chain length The enhancement
activities increased as the length of the hydrophobic chains increased, but when the length of the chain
was longer than a certain limit, the activities rather decreased. The optimal hydrocarbon chain length
was between 8 and 14 carbons, which would vary according to their different polar heads. The action
of an enhancer was dependent on the balance between its hydrophilic and lipophilic nature, and
therefore different length of alkyl chain was required for best incorporation of the enhancer with
different polar heads into the skin lipid bilayers (60). b) Heterocyclic ring size The presence of five
member cycle increased the activity, while six and seven member cycle exhibited lower activity.
Azone analogs with a small polar head might be expected to be situated well into the polar lipid
domain, thus disrupting the ordered organization of the lipid layers (61). c) The heteroatoms in the
polar

Gene Expression And Its Engineering
Introduction Transformation is the process of allowing a cell to be able to accept a gene into itself and
allow the gene to become part of the cell s whole, thus changing its form and expressing the gene s
function. This process was first discovered by the British bacteriologist Frederick Griffith, who was
able to transform Streptococcus pneumoniae into a different strain of Strep. in 1928 (1928). This
discovery was pivotal in the way we understand gene expression and its engineering. An example of
genetic engineering using transformation that applies to everyday life is the synthesizing of human
insulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar that runs through the
bloodstream. In the early 1900s, insulin from other animals was used to treat diabetes, but human
insulin is now able to be easily produced in bulk through genetic engineering, and has largely replaced
animal insulin for the treatment of diabetes. Insulin is made from cells in the pancreas, and the
extraction of insulin from animals used to require taking it directly from the animal s pancreas glands.
It was not until 1977 that synthetic human insulin was genetically engineered by Arthur Riggs and
Keiichi Itakura, and was achieved by the process of transformation using Escherichia coli as a host
(1977), which allowed for the easy reproduction of human insulin. Using this method, the production
of human insulin became large scale, faster, cheaper, and more accessible. A weakened

The Passing Of Time In Virignia Woolf s To The Lighthouse
The passage discussed from Virignia Woolf s To The Lighthouse takes place in the chapter Time
Passes , and indeed, the passing of time is a central theme. Literary devices such as assonance,
imagery and narrative voice are utilised to explore the tension between the brevity of human life and
the expansion of natural time. The structure of the passage, especially the final paragraph in
parenthesis, highlights the distinction between the finite human life and the infinite course of time.
The sounds and textures of words play a great importance within the passage. Compare the harsh b
consonance in the alliterative description of how bones bleach and burn far away in Indian sands
(Woolf, 139), and the sounds used in descriptions of how the light mellows the enrgy of labour, and
smooths the stubble (139). The assonance of the o and s sound elongates the verbs mellows and
smooths and creates a soft texture to the words. There is a clear tension between the sharp b
consonance and elongated o assonance within these words. The narrative voice utilises the sharper
sounds when describing human death, perhaps to connect the quick pop of the b consonance with the
quick extinguishing of human life; later in the passage, Mrs Ramsay s death occurs rather suddenly the
night before . Through sounds, words come to represent the disparity between the fleeting human life
and natural time.
Imagery is used to express how time occurs in a series of continuous moments, but for us mortals, this
time has an end. Within the image of how so soon a bird sings, a cock crows (139), the birds acts as
symbols for the coming morning, for the crowing of a cock is often associated with sunrise and
morning. The call of these birds follows the moment darkness dims so soon (139), and with the
repetition of how the birds appear so soon after the short space of a single night, the narrative voice
creates an image of the continuous cycle of day and night a cycle that is intimately connected to
nature. Following this bird imagery, the narrative voice depicts how following the night, a faint green
quickens, like a turning leaf, in the hollow of the wave . These images are all connected to a natural
world separated from

Brady Vs Manning Analysis
(2) New England Patriots @ (1) Denver Broncos
Sunday 3:00 EST
Brady V. Manning XVII. We were robbed of this matchup back in November, but now, possibly for
the final time, we get a Tom Brady led team verse a Peyton Manning led team.
It doesn t matter that Peyton Manning is playing the worst football of his career; the narrative of this
game is Brady V. Manning. Without question, Tom Brady is the better quarterback in this matchup. He
s playing at an MVP caliber level carrying his less talented team to the AFC championship while
Manning, is asked to platy well enough to not lose the game. He relies on his championship caliber
defense. Ironically, this is probably the most talented team Peyton Manning as been apart of yet, I
would be shocked

The Diversity Of A Multicultural Organization
The multicultural organization Historically, diversity in the workplace was seen as an employment
equity issues. As the years passed by, it all changed. The surge of globalization has needed the
collaboration among people of different backgrounds and cultures. Nowadays, organizations are now
creating a diverse workforce beyond just gender, race, ethnicity, and nationality. Many U.S.
organizations are embracing women, ethnic minorities, and foreign born employees more than ever
before in history. Diversity calls for organizations to recognize individuals for themselves, regardless
their designated groups. This paper will be focusing in three different parts of diversity in the
workforce: type of organizations, the benefits cost, and measurements taken by CEOs to promote
diversity. In today s society, due to the great diversity, organizations should be multicultural to allow
all members of different cultural backgrounds to contribute and achieve their full potential. According
to Cox (1991), there three different types of organizations including monolithic, plural, and
multicultural organization. The monolithic organization is demographically and culturally
homogeneous. According to Cox, the most important fact about this type of organization is that there
is minimal structural integration. For example, most Chinese companies are monolithic from a cultural
and ethnic perspective. The majority of their workers are ethnically Han Chinese. However, from a
gender perspective

Analysis Of Julio Cortazar s Short Story Axolotl
In Julio Cortazar s short story, Axolotl, the young man is searching for answers to his life. He finds
these answers in the small, Mexican salamander trapped within its enclosure at the Jardin. The axolotl
challenges the young man to see the simplicity behind the mysterious guise of the small amphibian.
The young man s daily visits to the Jardin only make the appeal of the axolotls greater. In those visits
he begins to see not only the creatures simplicity, but also their neotenous tendencies and connection
to death; all of which contribute to his association and union with them. Although he is a friend of
lions and panthers, his usual draw to nature is lacking. He finds himself unsatiated until the axolotl
exhibit catches his eye. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simplicity is an integral part of the young man s union with the axolotl. But the simple creature the
man comes to know and admire could not be without its neotenous characteristics. As the salamander
grows it never reaches adulthood and seemingly never ages. In this feature of the axolotl, the young
man comes to the realization that death is a part of life for all men. He is scared of facing aging and
dying, unsure how to react or feel about the unknown, and wants to avoid the question that all men
hate to face. Looking to the axolotl for answers, he gets a paradoxical result. The animal that never
ages, the animal he transforms into to escape the question of death, is a representation of death. The
axolotl is lonely, immobile, seemingly lacking life, inexpressive, and unable to communicate, all
things we associate with death. Somethings cannot be understood until you have personally faced the
trials yourself. No living man has experienced dying, but all have experienced death. Similarly, the
young man cannot truly begin to know what it is like to be the caged axolotl until he has been there.
All his insecurities as a human disappear and his life as a simple axolotl begins. At last the young man
can feel what the axolotls feel. All human understanding vanishes like dust in the wind. He stands still
like all axolotls do, a prisoner looking for a purpose. The young man can see now that the axolotls
have devoured his humanity.

intelligence program that the film s characters: Tony Stark and Bruce Banner created. Tony thought it
would be wise to have some help, saving the world is difficult task so he created the Iron Legion,
which was a group of robots who would assist the Avengers on their various missions. Tony and Bruce
tried to create something more powerful, but their attempts failed. After the Avengers successfully

Yoder was a Theologian who preferred the ideals that are directly opposite of Niebuhr. Yoder believes
in Christian Pacifism. In the reading of Taking the Question Seriously. John breaks down the question
of his opposition. What would you do if a criminal, say, pulled a gun and threated to kill your wife...or
daughter or sister or mother (Yoder, John H.). He related this to Just War when discussing the second
of the questioner s assumptions, control. In this section of the reading the criterion of probable success
is a reoccurring element. Failure to be successful is a serious possibility in every case of dramatic
confrontation...In any war at least one side loses; in some wars, no side wins (Yoder, John H.). Yoder
then goes on to knowledge and what outcomes can occur if no effort to kill the aggressor is made. He
will rape my wife, kill my daughter, attack me...I also know I will be successful if I try to take his life
(Yoder, John H.). Yoder explains that this reasoning is also in questioning, he cites that the
unpredictability of violence and that no one has knowledge of what the outcome will be. John follows
this by stating that his wife, daughter, or mother should be involved in the decision process; he as a
third party can not act on his own desires. He moves his attention on how this single event compares
to something on a larger scale such as war. Yoder mentions various options involving the event.
Christian faith warns me that I use my self centered control of my decision as a tool of my
rebelliousness, as a way of solidifying my independence from my Maker ( Yoder, John H.). We can
generalize from Yoder s statements and opinions that he believes that Christians can not be involved in
matters of violence/ war because Jesus Christ was a pacifist and we should be living a similar life
following the very rule that Niebuhr said humanity does not

Who Is The Hacker In The Masked Avengers
The Masked Avengers By David Kushner is about a group of people who are anonymous and hack
into things like data web bases, this is pretty much all they have in common. Hackers are not a group
who do things the same and together primarily because there are so many different types of people
who are interested in different things although Wikipedia more commonly sees hacking as skilled
computer expert that uses their technical knowledge to overcome a problem . For example a hacker
can do their job not as the stereotypical way of bad but in helping out the common good in people,
such as tracking down child predators and turning them into the police. Even though this may be seen
as illegal hacking that violates the privacy of others, when its

Pros And Cons Of M4
According to South (2017), the Army is replacing the M4 with a new rifle with a bigger bullet by
2020. This essay will start out with giving a brief history of the topic and discuss about the issue of the
Army M4. Pro and cons on how to replace the weapons system would affect soldier maneuverability
and combat effectiveness. There have been many upgrades and negative complaints from the soldiers
down range in regards to the M16/M4 since it s been used within the Army. Within the past 20 years,
the Army spent a lot of money on the M4 carbine program, but Congress didn t approve. They still
certain that the M4 is a superior weapon against enemies (Freedberg, 2013). The Army should replace

A new platform would be more lethal, more effective, and more reliable than the M4. A major
concerned with the M4 is that the M4 is prone to jamming and malfunctioning due to fouling. Fouling
is caused by carbon residue build up in the weapon system. In combat situations the M4 has been
unreliable, because the weapon misfires. M4 malfunctions include failure to fire, failure to eject,
failure to chamber a round, and failure to feed. The Army conduct a dust test in 2007 for testing M4A1
reliability. The Army testers and engineers selected ten M4s and three other weapon systems shot 6000
rounds in the dust chamber. M4 has 683 stoppages and perform the worst against other weapons. In
other words, the M4 jammed every 68 rounds (Lowes, 2007). The other selected weapons are the
Heckler Koch 416, XM8, and the FN SCAR. (Lowes, 2007). The XM8 jammed every 472 rounds and
the HK 416 jammed every 257 rounds. The XM8 has the lowest stoppage rate. If the Army adopted
one of these three weapons, it will significantly increases reliabilities in the combat zone. The second
issue with the M4A1 is also closely related to malfunction. The M4 is easy to overheat after prolonged
firing. There s two factors that cause this problem. The first factor is the high pressure and high
velocity round shooting out from the barrel. The other factor is the gas operation mechanism of the

Nestorianism Controversy
The teachings of Nestorianism, centered on the similar teaching of the school of Antioch. The
teachings focused on the full humanity of Jesus, while disputing the titles of the Virgin Mary, Jesus
mother. Nestorius the leader of the Nestorians and the bishop of Constantinople disagreed with the
Church that Mary was the God bearer and Mother of God. His disagreement with the kerygma, liturgy
and theology of the Church exposed the fundamental problem. This problem was that the Nestorians
did not want to recognize that through Jesus God suffered in the flesh.
This fundamental problem raised much controversy between the Nestorians and the Church. The
Nestorians refused to believe, that the divine spirit of God could also be in a human form.

Why Is Scott Van Winkle Important
Scott Van Winkle (MLA Format)
My Thesis is, the Mexican Revolution was important because the people were getting fed up and
something needed to be done about the corruption and the possibility of a free market. This kind of
opportunity would help the rich but the poor would only have a larger gap into the steps of economical
and political society. People were unsatisfied with the Diaz Regime and it had now effected much
larger groups. Liberals and radicals wanting democracy, owners of land not wanting foreign control,
and people suffering for regulated pay and healthy working environments. Several landowners lost
their land to landowner takeovers.
A call to arms by Francisco Madero, a leader of the prodemocracy forces, united the disparate groups
opposed to Diaz which succeeded in overthrowing the Porfirian government and forcing Diaz into
exile (Vanden Prevost 319).
With Madero s efforts he was able to become president but was assassinated by a team put together by
Victoriano Huerta. Two Mexico s was addressed when the Revolution was sparked and taken control
by Venustiano Carranza part of the constitutionalist army and Emiliano Zapata which whom will be
under credited for their efforts in the future. They took Huerta out of power in 1914.
After the victory there was a split between the two revolution leaders due to differences in direction

Cause And Effects Of The Spanish-American War
The building of the First Transcontinental Railroad was a key symbol of the Industrial Revolution
beginning in the United States. The railroad crossed the middle of the country and connected the
eastern portion to the west. The building began in Sacramento, California and continued all the way to
Council Bluffs, Iowa, resulting in 1,776 miles of new rails that were a staple for both the
transportation of people and goods. Less lives were lost on the hazardous trails through the Rocky
Mountains and thus the West Coast experienced an increase in population. The railroad greatly
impacted the nation, as it united the people and also allowed for the improvement of the speed of

Maximilien Robespierre And The Reign Of Terror Of The...
Maximilien Robespierre was a revolutionary who significantly influenced and justified the Reign of
Terror. The Reign of Terror was a dark and violent time during the French Revolution. It began when
the Girondins were overthrown by the Jacobins, who were led by Robespierre. Later, the members of
the government had lost to the Jacobins and sans culottes, thus the king was executed. The Jacobins
were the driving force of the Reign of Terror, while Robespierre was the mastermind. The Girondins
were a branch of the Jacobins but they were conservatives and less radical. The Jacobins were the
most radical and ruthless of the political groups, and they identified themselves with the common
people, also known as the sans culottes. In response to their poverty stricken life under the Ancien
Régime, most of the sans culottes became revolutionaries and militant supporters of the French
Revolution. The sans culottes saw popular violence as a political right, therefore they attacked
anything or anyone who was against the revolution. They were determined to avoid street violence,
hence taking violence into their own hands as an instrument of the government. (Linton, Marisa 2006)
In association with Robespierre, the Jacobins started the Reign of Terror. Robespierre and the Jacobins
began to concentrate their power in spreading the Reign of Terror when they dominated the National
Convention. Without delay, they made various harsh laws to frighten anyone who disagreed with
them.

As he assumes that the arguments are over and he is in control of his own life again. Additionally,
Bigger has more important problems to worry about than his current friendship, as he had just

Bigger is naturally afraid that Jan might speak a different story than what he told P.I. Britten, so in an
attempt to silence and bully him into submission to stop asking questions. This however backfires as
Jan is not the kind of man who would easily give up on what he set his eyes on, in this case it was his

The Matter Of Gun Control
The matter of gun control has become an increasingly controversial issue. Whenever, a nationalized
tragedy ensues that involves gun violence, the question on what to accomplish regarding America s
gun control takes center stage. While exploring this topic, this essay will attempt to discuss the
circumstances that prohibit a person from possessing firearms, also regulations to prevent these
persons from possessing firearms. Upon reflecting on the personal side of the gun control debate,
stricter gun control begins to infringe upon our rights, as citizens and they should concentrate on
enforcing the current laws in the books, instead of making additional laws.

Furthermore, Federal Firearms Act of 1938 brought about congress directing a law involving the
selling and shipping of firearms within interstate or foreign retail networks. Nonetheless, after the
assassination of President Kennedy the 1968 Gun Control Act was enacted, which tightens legislation
on the sales of mail order guns. Moreover, beginning in 1972 was the establishment of the Bureau of
Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. Facilitating restrictions on gun sellers and the selling of some guns,
was the 1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act. Eventually, establishing a policy for drug free school

Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century
Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced
in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered
around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower
class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the
higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded
Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted
ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other
interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective
and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of
the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving
ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal
performances of Russian Ballet.

Dna Testing And The Second Amendment
DNAAS EVIDENCE
DNA testing was first used in criminal prosecutions in 1985 and is now admissible in all states. (Hails,
184) Scientific and legal communities seem to universally accept the use of DNA as good evidence.
Questions could arise regarding testing procedures. There are several testing methods that have been
proven reliable and easily pass general acceptance and scientific validity tests. This is causes number
of Daubert cases questioning DNA to decline. In most cases, the tests that are used are well
established and do not require a separate hearing (Hails, 160) Once it is established the testing method
used passes the Daubert test, the court must determine admissibility based on the Fourth Amendment.
The Fourth Amendment is the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and

have bees that say If we die, you die with us, and state that the ecosystem would fail without the
honey bee. But are either of these claims true?
Western honey bees are one of the many pollinators that inhabit North America. There are around four
thousand bee species native to North America, but the western honey bee is not one of them. The exact
etymology of the honey bee has always been a question. Entomologists first put the origin of the

These species include bees, such as the western honey bee, along with flies, beetles, moths, and
butterflies. Pollination, as far as honey bees are concerned, is a process where honey bees legs get
coated in pollen which they transfer from flower to flower to fertilize the plant. Plants rely on
pollinators to grow and produce offspring. Without pollination, many plants would die off and would
not be around the next growing season. Pollination is the sole reason the U.S. has as many fruits,
vegetables, and nuts that it does. The western honey bee is one of the many important pollinators that
have become a huge part of North American agriculture, but they might not be necessary.
Many industries rely in some way on the honey bee. Agriculture relies on the western honey bee for
pollination. Honey and beeswax are both byproducts of the honey bee. Even the western honey bee
itself has its own industry. In order to understand if the western honey bee is necessary to the U.S., it
is important just how influential the honey bee is in these

The Theory Of Free Market Economics
When I came back to Oregon after spending four years in the Marine Corps, I quickly became
interested in politics. In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system
where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government
or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat
confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to
enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel
uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything
in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free
market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market
is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.) The non aggression
principle is the key component that makes libertarianism work. A free market if followed offers a
maximization of economic and monetary security if the NAP; it leads to complete non interventionist
economy. The best way to maximize peace is to remove any justification for dynamic, aggressive
force (i.e. Institutions of the state) the concepts of government welfare programs can be taken over by
the moral obligation to help your fellow man. Historically the state breeds war, in

Essay on Midnight in Paris
The star studded romantic comedy Midnight in Paris is one of Woody Allen s most recent films which
he did both, wrote and directed. It is a film about a man named Gil (Owen Wilson) who travels to
Paris with his fiancée s parents in order to expand his imagination and he ends up embarking on a
journey to the 1920s while walking the streets of Paris at night. Not only is this film engaging and
witty, but it also manages to provide both, overt and covert examples of postmodernism in film. By
analyzing Woody Allen s 2011film Midnight in Paris, we can identify the presence of many
underlying motifs in both the narrative and the characterization of the film when using some of
Frederic Jameson and Jean Baudrillard s concepts on postmodernism. ... Show more content on

In Midnight in Paris, Gil tags along with her fiancées family to a trip in Paris in order to become more
inspired by the ambiance of the beautiful city, by having Gil experience the golden age without any
help of technology, he is deliberately opposing the idea of postmodernism and how people tend to
connect to people and places. According to Jameson, everything we experience is mediated by
technology or capitalism, so we no longer experience things as natural unmediated. It is inferred that
Gil understands this, and therefore decides to get out of Los Angeles in order to experience Paris for
himself, instead of through the use of technology. We see how his fiancées opposes his views in the
scene in which it is raining, and she attempts to avoid the rain while Gil is happily enjoying walking in
the rain. In this film, we can see how Inez s character represents popular culture which does not bother
experiencing things without being mediated, while Gil attempts to accomplish the opposite. He
attempts to have a fell for the mood and ambient of the city in order to regain the inspiration and
motivation he had lost while in the city, where mostly everything is mediated by modern items.
In the film, there tends to be a constant, and sometimes excessive schizophrenic tendency in the
characterization of Gil, he has a tendency to look backwards. When looking at Frederic Jameson s
concept on postmodernism, he suggests that according to Jacques Lacan, schizophrenia

Nuclear Bomb Research Paper
Nuclear bombs are fatal weapons engendering explosions that produce fireballs, shockwaves, and
intense radiation and later causing a mushroom cloud to form. The mushroom cloud forms from
vaporized debris and disperses that fall on earth causing environmental damage. As stated in the

The Cross Tattoo Culture
The cross tattoo meaning centers around the culture of its origins, the time frame of its original design,
and the personality of the person who has one applied. While the cross tattoo symbolism is mainly
regarded by people as being of religious origin, it actually has roots in the Pagan world. The cross tats

Those reasons are based on religions, traditions, cultures, and simple liking of the intricate designs.

The Similarities And Contributions Of Akhenaten And His...
Despite more than a thousand years passing the Byzantine piece Emperor Justinian and His Attendants
shares many aspects with the ancient Egyptian piece Akhenaten and His Family. Not only do they
share the same title layout with The ruler of a country and His other figures but they also share formal,
religious, and historical aspects. Visually they have their own unique style with a couple small
similarities, symbolically they both use symbols in relation to the ruler and the countries monotheistic
religion, and historically they both experienced the destruction of art like them. By examining these
two pieces of art from their respective times and culture it is easy to the similarities and differences.
First looking at both Akhenaten and Justinian while there are a few similarities between them, there
are other aspects that makes each pieces form unique. Akhenaten is carved in a limestone panel using
the technique of sunken relief giving the carvings some sense of definition in the figures. The panel is
12 ¼ x 15 ¼ much smaller compared to the larger Justinian who stretches out at 8 8 x 12 covering the
north wall of the apse. Justinian and the other figures is done in the popular byzantine technique of
mosaic set against a golden background and their feet seem to float while Akhenaten and his wife are
sitting down grounded on chairs with their daughters sitting on their laps. Akhenaten and the other
figures are shown with the traditional Egyptian style of the torsos

The Rule Of The Ottoman Empire
Introduction
As early as 1516, Syria has been known to be ruled under Ottoman Turks Empire for well over several
centuries. In 1916 Arabs and British military collaborated together and rebelled against Turkish rules.
This allowed independence over the Turks for Arab countries and ending 400 years of supreme
political power of the Ottoman Empire. After many years of restructuring Syria economics, social, and
political fields, they combined the Ottoman, French, and Islamic laws up until the 1980 s. The
criminal, civil, and commercial codes were mostly based on the French way of practicing laws. In
1949, they had certain provisions that they had to follow due to religious minorities. Now the Islamic

combat against internal security threats to the government. During the 1970 s and 1980 s they used
more conventional ways of dealing with professionalism, also using ways to persuade internal security

Bandwidth Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transmitted over the network within a given
time which is usually measured in bps (bits per second). Bandwidth is not the same as speed but it is
the amount of data it can send each second which does speed up the process. It is not the same as how
fast it can send data from one point to another. Imagine two boxes which move at the same speed to
reach the same destination; one box has more space to fit more inside than the other box. This means
the bigger box has more bandwidth and can carry more information per second than the smaller box
with less bandwidth. Network Connection There are different ways of connecting to the internet. You
can be connected wireless or wired and have normal broadband or fibre optic broadband. The type of
connection will have an effect on the speed of your network. Unlike the copper wires of an ADSL
connection, cables are partially made of fibre optic material, which allows for much faster broadband
speeds and increased reliability. Another factor which may affect speeds is the distance of your house
to your local telephone box unit on your road. Internet Speed Your internet speed that your ISP is

The Scientific Revolution Of Western Civilizations
During the seventeenth century, the scientific revolution in Europe was at its peak, changing people s
lives through the new techniques of the scientific method. Citizens of western civilizations had
previously used religion as the lens through which they perceived their beliefs and customs in their
communities. Before the scientific revolution, science and religion were intertwined, and people were
taught to accept religious laws and doctrines without questioning; the Church was the ultimate
authority on how the world worked. However, during this revolution, scientists were inspired to learn
and understand the laws of the universe had created, a noble and controversial move toward truth
seeking. The famous scientists of the time, such as Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo and Newton, were
known to be natural philosophers, intending to reveal God s mystery and understand (through proof)
the majesty of God. Throughout previous centuries, people had hypothesized how the world and
natural phenomenon may work, and new Protestant ideals demanded constant interrogation and
examination. Nevertheless, some of these revelations went against the Church s teachings and
authority. If people believed the Church could be wrong, then they could question everything around
them, as well. As a result, the introduction of the scientific method, a process by which scientists
discovered and proved new theories, was revolutionary because it distinguished what could be proved
as real from what was simply

Anne Bradstreet s Poem, My Dear And Loving Husband
Throughout history women have always taken second chair next to men. Women were thought to be
the weaker, less intellectual, and less valuable sex. Many women accepted their position in life, and
never bothered to strive for more, however, Anne Bradstreet did. She knew she could be much more
than the simple house wife she was meant be; she valued herself to be more, and took to poetry as a
means of communicating her views on life; not knowing one day she would be the famous female
American poet she is today. Even with eight children, Anne Bradstreet found time to express her
interests and views by writing in her poetry journal. Out of all her many poems, To My Dear and
Loving Husband stuck out as, one with a simple message, with hidden meanings throughout.
Though Bradstreet is known as one who made large bounds for her fellow women, the fact that she
relies on her husband for a sense of self is present in the second line of the poem. Bradstreet using the
word man, not the corresponding term husband ; this grants him a level of independence from the
relationship that she does not give herself (Kelly). The fact that there seems to be unevenness in the
marriage is indicative of the puritan culture. Puritan women are vulnerable and servers to their
husbands, not partners as they are thought of today. Even with her role as wife Bradstreet is able to
challenge many of the stereotypes that women faced during the late 1600 s. If it was not for the use of
poetry,

Essay on Learning Theory Applied to Health Care
Learning Theory Applied to Health Care The purpose of this paper is to discuss a learning theory with
application to a teaching learning situation in health care. This paper will focus on the social learning
theory and its application to the teaching learning process in nursing. I will explore a clear definition
of the theory and present the main concepts. Lastly, I will apply my knowledge of the social learning
theory by describing how I use it in a health care setting when educating student nurses during senior

Therefore, it is important to identify the learner s perception, interpretation and response to the social
situation in which they are learning. This can be particularly important in the health care environment.
Learning and behavior occur because of the interaction of environmental and cognitive factors
occurring within a social context by observation, imitation, and modeling the behaviors, attitudes and
emotional reactions of others (Abbott, 2007; Ormrod, 1999). Bandura (1977) uses a four step
approach when implementing learning consisting of four phases: Attentional , Retention,
Reproduction, and Motivational. The attentional phase is when the learner observes the role model.
The processing and memorization of the observations takes place in the retention phase. The learner
performs the learned action or behavior in the reproduction phase. Lastly, the motivation phase
focuses on the learner s motivation to perform the behavior depending on their perception of reward or
punishment as a consequence. This is known as vicarious reinforcement (Bastable , 2008).
Application of Learning Theory to Health care Setting As a Registered Nurse I have had the
opportunity to be a preceptor to a number of nursing students. I take this role very seriously as I am
aware of the impact that my mentoring has on the students learning experience, competence and

An Analysis of Conflict in the Novel the Son of Neptune
Do conflicts develop our characters and help us attain our goals? Following the theme of conflict in
the novel the Son of Neptune, Rick Riordan uses conflict to make the piece of writing more
interesting. Riordan incorporates different types of conflict in the novel to show how the heroes must
co operate with each other to complete their quest.
The conflict between the hero and his family shows a subsequent reaction further in the novel. The
author is showing the hero struggling with his family which helps to form a closer bond with his
friends. Riordan shows the hero separating himself from his father, Mars, the god of war, whom the
hero despises, by working closer with his friends on the quest that is given to them (Son of Neptune,
151). When this meeting occurs, the hero is confronted by old memories which handicap him during
the quest and needs the help of his friends to aid him on his quest. As well as mentally in conflict with
his family, the hero displays common exhibits of grief for his family which is an opening to express
hurt or anger from experience elsewhere (Varieties of Family Conflict in Adolescence). The author
shows the hero using the death of his mother and his new found father to inflict pain on other family
members. With this much trouble in his family, Riordan shows how the hero depends on his friends to
help him throughout the story.
As well as being in conflict with his family, the hero is battling the thought of dying every single day.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal was a package of economic programs that were made and
proposed from 1933 up to 1936. The goals of the package were to give relief to farmers, reform to
business and finance, and recovery to the economy during the Great Depression. Among many other
new acts to help give recovery to the economy, the NIRA was born. The National Industrial Recovery
Act (NIRA) was created by Roosevelt to see to the needs of industry, trade unions, and even the

The previously mentioned codes dealing with minimum work hours, wages, and labor conditions were
also not working out. Those codes would not become a part of work and labor laws until later in
history. Another section of these codes dealt with fair competition. All sorts of codes were created just
dealing with fair competition, but they would not apply to antitrust laws. Antitrust laws were laws
made to reduce competition between companies and prevent monopolies from forming (National
Industrial Recovery Act of 1933). Since these codes did not apply to antitrust laws it basically gave
businesses the opportunity to create monopolies. After monopolies were created, it had raised the
prices on goods and services. That is certainly not the best thing for an economy, and to add more fuel
to the fire deflation was also a major problem during this time. Deflation is the lowering of the price
of goods and services. These higher prices were made on purpose to allow people like farmers to
prosper. Their theory of higher prices equals more prosperity failed miserably and made the economy
just stop. The prices ended up being too high, and that did absolutely nothing for the economy or the
people (National Industrial Recovery Act (1933)). Another reason the NIRA wasn t all too successful
in the thirties was the lack of support it had from businesses. Larger business had given their support

A Common Understanding Of Weather Menace
1. What is fog? A common understanding of this weather menace must be established before delving
into its dangers. Layman s terms suggest that fog is a low hovering cloud which limits the visibility at
ground level in a wide variety of intensity. From personal experience, fog may prevent you from
locating your own home, or may simply cause the air to feel moist. Fog forms when the difference
between air temperature and dew point is generally less than 4 °F. Fog begins to form when water
vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets suspended in the air, usually also clinging to pollutants
or naturally occurring particles (ex: dust, salt, etc.) Water vapor is added to the air by: wind
convergence into areas of upward direction, precipitation, daytime heating which evaporates water
from the surface of large bodies of water, oceans or wetlands; transpiration from plants, cool or dry air
moving over warmer water, and lifting air over mountains. Think of fog as a lower rendition of the
cloud form stratus; meaning it is a lower deck that occurs when a cool air mass is confined under a
warm air mass. 2. Different types of fogs? Foggiest place in the United States? Fog can form in many
ways dependent on what caused the cooling and how the condensation occurred. The most common
form of fog, Radiation fog, is fashioned by the cooling of terrain after sun down by thermal radiation
when wind conditions are relatively calm and cloud cover is at a minimum. The cooling ground

Summary Of Siddhartha By Herman Hess Essay
Austin Burchett Dr. Bain Selbo Dr. Samuels RELS 200: World religious literature November 10, 2016
Siddhartha is a novel written by Herman Hess, that tells the story based off one of the past lives of the
Buddha. In the story, Siddhartha Gautama is on a quest to pursue spiritual enlightenment by seeking
guidance from external sources such as Buddhists, Brahmins, Samanas, and even in the material
world. Throughout his spiritual pilgrimage, Siddhartha eventually discovers that he cannot learn how
to achieve spiritual enlightenment by only relying on exterior sources of spiritual guidance. Siddhartha
finally fulfills his Nirvana when he has an internal connection to the river that allowed him to see the
complexity of existence. In my opinion, exterior paths for Siddhartha, is not essential to achieving
Nirvana but I believe that without exterior guidance, finding internal guidance would be merely
impossible. During Siddhartha s youth, he would always sit and talk with the elders to further
understand the Brahmin heritage and achieve all the knowledge he possibly could. After gaining all
the wisdom of the Brahmin, Siddhartha tells his father that he believes he and the other scholarly
Brahmin have learned nearly everything from the holy books, but he is concerned that they have not

Donald Glover s Remedial Chaos Theory
The popular meme of Donald Glover walking into a room filled with chaos originally derives from the
NBC s comedic sitcom, Community which aired from 2009 to 2015 ( Community ). During the
episode that this scene is from, Remedial Chaos Theory , Troy and Abed host a housewarming party
for their new apartment, inviting their study group. When the pizza arrives, Jeff decides to roll a die to
decide who fetches it. According to Abed, this creates six possible timelines (in addition to the main
timeline),, in which he imagines all of them with magnified creativity. Remedial Chaos Theory was
highly received by Community fans, receiving a rating of 9.8 on the International Movie Database

For instance, in almost every sequence, Pierce gives or attempts to give his house warming gift to
Troy. However, there are different outcomes in each of the timelines. During one timeline, he tortures
and taunts Troy with his gift of a creepy, Norwegian troll doll, while in another timeline he makes the

  • 2. Azone Research Paper 2.1.7.3.3. Azone and derivatives: Azone (laurocapram, Figure 5) is a highly lipophilic liquid with an octanol/water partition coefficient of 6.21. It is a chemically stable compound and an excellent solvent for many drugs. Azone has a low irritating potential, a very low toxicity and nearly no pharmacological activity (56, 58). It can be used as penetration enhancers for hydrophilic and lipophilic substances such as steroids, antibiotics and antiviral agents and for peptide molecules as well, such as insulin and vasopressin (58). The efficacy of Azone is concentration dependent and is influenced by the choice of vehicle from which it is applied. Azone is most effective at low concentrations, being employed typically between 0.1% and 5%, often between 1% and 3% (56). Addition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To overcome this issue, many Azone like compounds have been synthesized (55). Modification in the structure of Azone includes change in: a) The optimal hydrocarbon chain length The enhancement activities increased as the length of the hydrophobic chains increased, but when the length of the chain was longer than a certain limit, the activities rather decreased. The optimal hydrocarbon chain length was between 8 and 14 carbons, which would vary according to their different polar heads. The action of an enhancer was dependent on the balance between its hydrophilic and lipophilic nature, and therefore different length of alkyl chain was required for best incorporation of the enhancer with different polar heads into the skin lipid bilayers (60). b) Heterocyclic ring size The presence of five member cycle increased the activity, while six and seven member cycle exhibited lower activity. Azone analogs with a small polar head might be expected to be situated well into the polar lipid domain, thus disrupting the ordered organization of the lipid layers (61). c) The heteroatoms in the polar ... • 3. Gene Expression And Its Engineering Introduction Transformation is the process of allowing a cell to be able to accept a gene into itself and allow the gene to become part of the cell s whole, thus changing its form and expressing the gene s function. This process was first discovered by the British bacteriologist Frederick Griffith, who was able to transform Streptococcus pneumoniae into a different strain of Strep. in 1928 (1928). This discovery was pivotal in the way we understand gene expression and its engineering. An example of genetic engineering using transformation that applies to everyday life is the synthesizing of human insulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar that runs through the bloodstream. In the early 1900s, insulin from other animals was used to treat diabetes, but human insulin is now able to be easily produced in bulk through genetic engineering, and has largely replaced animal insulin for the treatment of diabetes. Insulin is made from cells in the pancreas, and the extraction of insulin from animals used to require taking it directly from the animal s pancreas glands. It was not until 1977 that synthetic human insulin was genetically engineered by Arthur Riggs and Keiichi Itakura, and was achieved by the process of transformation using Escherichia coli as a host (1977), which allowed for the easy reproduction of human insulin. Using this method, the production of human insulin became large scale, faster, cheaper, and more accessible. A weakened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Passing Of Time In Virignia Woolf s To The Lighthouse The passage discussed from Virignia Woolf s To The Lighthouse takes place in the chapter Time Passes , and indeed, the passing of time is a central theme. Literary devices such as assonance, imagery and narrative voice are utilised to explore the tension between the brevity of human life and the expansion of natural time. The structure of the passage, especially the final paragraph in parenthesis, highlights the distinction between the finite human life and the infinite course of time. The sounds and textures of words play a great importance within the passage. Compare the harsh b consonance in the alliterative description of how bones bleach and burn far away in Indian sands (Woolf, 139), and the sounds used in descriptions of how the light mellows the enrgy of labour, and smooths the stubble (139). The assonance of the o and s sound elongates the verbs mellows and smooths and creates a soft texture to the words. There is a clear tension between the sharp b consonance and elongated o assonance within these words. The narrative voice utilises the sharper sounds when describing human death, perhaps to connect the quick pop of the b consonance with the quick extinguishing of human life; later in the passage, Mrs Ramsay s death occurs rather suddenly the night before . Through sounds, words come to represent the disparity between the fleeting human life and natural time. Imagery is used to express how time occurs in a series of continuous moments, but for us mortals, this time has an end. Within the image of how so soon a bird sings, a cock crows (139), the birds acts as symbols for the coming morning, for the crowing of a cock is often associated with sunrise and morning. The call of these birds follows the moment darkness dims so soon (139), and with the repetition of how the birds appear so soon after the short space of a single night, the narrative voice creates an image of the continuous cycle of day and night a cycle that is intimately connected to nature. Following this bird imagery, the narrative voice depicts how following the night, a faint green quickens, like a turning leaf, in the hollow of the wave . These images are all connected to a natural world separated from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It doesn t matter that Peyton Manning is playing the worst football of his career; the narrative of this game is Brady V. Manning. • 6. The Diversity Of A Multicultural Organization The multicultural organization Historically, diversity in the workplace was seen as an employment equity issues. As the years passed by, it all changed. The surge of globalization has needed the collaboration among people of different backgrounds and cultures. Nowadays, organizations are now creating a diverse workforce beyond just gender, race, ethnicity, and nationality. Many U.S. organizations are embracing women, ethnic minorities, and foreign born employees more than ever before in history. Diversity calls for organizations to recognize individuals for themselves, regardless their designated groups. This paper will be focusing in three different parts of diversity in the workforce: type of organizations, the benefits cost, and measurements taken by CEOs to promote diversity. In today s society, due to the great diversity, organizations should be multicultural to allow all members of different cultural backgrounds to contribute and achieve their full potential. According to Cox (1991), there three different types of organizations including monolithic, plural, and multicultural organization. The monolithic organization is demographically and culturally homogeneous. According to Cox, the most important fact about this type of organization is that there is minimal structural integration. For example, most Chinese companies are monolithic from a cultural and ethnic perspective. The majority of their workers are ethnically Han Chinese. However, from a gender perspective ... He finds these answers in the small, Mexican salamander trapped within its enclosure at the Jardin. The axolotl challenges the young man to see the simplicity behind the mysterious guise of the small amphibian. The young man s daily visits to the Jardin only make the appeal of the axolotls greater. In those visits he begins to see not only the creatures simplicity, but also their neotenous tendencies and connection to death; all of which contribute to his association and union with them. Although he is a friend of lions and panthers, his usual draw to nature is lacking. He finds himself unsatiated until the axolotl exhibit catches his eye. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simplicity is an integral part of the young man s union with the axolotl. But the simple creature the man comes to know and admire could not be without its neotenous characteristics. As the salamander grows it never reaches adulthood and seemingly never ages. In this feature of the axolotl, the young man comes to the realization that death is a part of life for all men. He is scared of facing aging and dying, unsure how to react or feel about the unknown, and wants to avoid the question that all men hate to face. Looking to the axolotl for answers, he gets a paradoxical result. The animal that never ages, the animal he transforms into to escape the question of death, is a representation of death. The axolotl is lonely, immobile, seemingly lacking life, inexpressive, and unable to communicate, all things we associate with death. Somethings cannot be understood until you have personally faced the trials yourself. No living man has experienced dying, but all have experienced death. Similarly, the young man cannot truly begin to know what it is like to be the caged axolotl until he has been there. All his insecurities as a human disappear and his life as a simple axolotl begins. At last the young man can feel what the axolotls feel. All human understanding vanishes like dust in the wind. He stands still like all axolotls do, a prisoner looking for a purpose. A new platform would be more lethal, more effective, and more reliable than the M4. A major concerned with the M4 is that the M4 is prone to jamming and malfunctioning due to fouling. Fouling is caused by carbon residue build up in the weapon system. In combat situations the M4 has been unreliable, because the weapon misfires. M4 malfunctions include failure to fire, failure to eject, failure to chamber a round, and failure to feed. The Army conduct a dust test in 2007 for testing M4A1 reliability. The Army testers and engineers selected ten M4s and three other weapon systems shot 6000 rounds in the dust chamber. M4 has 683 stoppages and perform the worst against other weapons. In other words, the M4 jammed every 68 rounds (Lowes, 2007). The other selected weapons are the Heckler Koch 416, XM8, and the FN SCAR. (Lowes, 2007). The XM8 jammed every 472 rounds and the HK 416 jammed every 257 rounds. The XM8 has the lowest stoppage rate. The Reign of Terror was a dark and violent time during the French Revolution. It began when the Girondins were overthrown by the Jacobins, who were led by Robespierre. Later, the members of the government had lost to the Jacobins and sans culottes, thus the king was executed. The Jacobins were the driving force of the Reign of Terror, while Robespierre was the mastermind. The Girondins were a branch of the Jacobins but they were conservatives and less radical. The Jacobins were the most radical and ruthless of the political groups, and they identified themselves with the common people, also known as the sans culottes. In response to their poverty stricken life under the Ancien Régime, most of the sans culottes became revolutionaries and militant supporters of the French Revolution. The sans culottes saw popular violence as a political right, therefore they attacked anything or anyone who was against the revolution. They were determined to avoid street violence, hence taking violence into their own hands as an instrument of the government. In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.) The non aggression principle is the key component that makes libertarianism work. A free market if followed offers a maximization of economic and monetary security if the NAP; it leads to complete non interventionist economy. In Midnight in Paris, Gil tags along with her fiancées family to a trip in Paris in order to become more inspired by the ambiance of the beautiful city, by having Gil experience the golden age without any help of technology, he is deliberately opposing the idea of postmodernism and how people tend to connect to people and places. According to Jameson, everything we experience is mediated by technology or capitalism, so we no longer experience things as natural unmediated. It is inferred that Gil understands this, and therefore decides to get out of Los Angeles in order to experience Paris for himself, instead of through the use of technology. We see how his fiancées opposes his views in the scene in which it is raining, and she attempts to avoid the rain while Gil is happily enjoying walking in the rain. In this film, we can see how Inez s character represents popular culture which does not bother experiencing things without being mediated, while Gil attempts to accomplish the opposite. He attempts to have a fell for the mood and ambient of the city in order to regain the inspiration and motivation he had lost while in the city, where mostly everything is mediated by modern items. In the film, there tends to be a constant, and sometimes excessive schizophrenic tendency in the characterization of Gil, he has a tendency to look backwards. When looking at Frederic Jameson s concept on postmodernism, he suggests that according to Jacques Lacan, schizophrenia ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite more than a thousand years passing the Byzantine piece Emperor Justinian and His Attendants shares many aspects with the ancient Egyptian piece Akhenaten and His Family. Not only do they share the same title layout with The ruler of a country and His other figures but they also share formal, religious, and historical aspects. Visually they have their own unique style with a couple small similarities, symbolically they both use symbols in relation to the ruler and the countries monotheistic religion, and historically they both experienced the destruction of art like them. By examining these two pieces of art from their respective times and culture it is easy to the similarities and differences. Network Capacity Constraints Bandwidth Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transmitted over the network within a given time which is usually measured in bps (bits per second). Bandwidth is not the same as speed but it is the amount of data it can send each second which does speed up the process. It is not the same as how fast it can send data from one point to another. Imagine two boxes which move at the same speed to reach the same destination; one box has more space to fit more inside than the other box. This means the bigger box has more bandwidth and can carry more information per second than the smaller box with less bandwidth. Network Connection There are different ways of connecting to the internet. You can be connected wireless or wired and have normal broadband or fibre optic broadband. The type of connection will have an effect on the speed of your network. Unlike the copper wires of an ADSL connection, cables are partially made of fibre optic material, which allows for much faster broadband speeds and increased reliability. The Scientific Revolution Of Western Civilizations During the seventeenth century, the scientific revolution in Europe was at its peak, changing people s lives through the new techniques of the scientific method. Citizens of western civilizations had previously used religion as the lens through which they perceived their beliefs and customs in their communities. Before the scientific revolution, science and religion were intertwined, and people were taught to accept religious laws and doctrines without questioning; the Church was the ultimate authority on how the world worked. Nevertheless, some of these revelations went against the Church s teachings and authority. If people believed the Church could be wrong, then they could question everything around them, as well. Women were thought to be the weaker, less intellectual, and less valuable sex. Many women accepted their position in life, and never bothered to strive for more, however, Anne Bradstreet did. She knew she could be much more than the simple house wife she was meant be; she valued herself to be more, and took to poetry as a means of communicating her views on life; not knowing one day she would be the famous female American poet she is today. Even with eight children, Anne Bradstreet found time to express her interests and views by writing in her poetry journal. Out of all her many poems, To My Dear and Loving Husband stuck out as, one with a simple message, with hidden meanings throughout. Though Bradstreet is known as one who made large bounds for her fellow women, the fact that she relies on her husband for a sense of self is present in the second line of the poem. Bradstreet using the word man, not the corresponding term husband ; this grants him a level of independence from the relationship that she does not give herself (Kelly). The fact that there seems to be unevenness in the marriage is indicative of the puritan culture. Puritan women are vulnerable and servers to their husbands, not partners as they are thought of today. Even with her role as wife Bradstreet is able to challenge many of the stereotypes that women faced during the late 1600 s. If it was not for the use of poetry, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, it is important to identify the learner s perception, interpretation and response to the social situation in which they are learning. This can be particularly important in the health care environment. Learning and behavior occur because of the interaction of environmental and cognitive factors occurring within a social context by observation, imitation, and modeling the behaviors, attitudes and emotional reactions of others (Abbott, 2007; Ormrod, 1999). Bandura (1977) uses a four step approach when implementing learning consisting of four phases: Attentional , Retention, Reproduction, and Motivational. The attentional phase is when the learner observes the role model. The processing and memorization of the observations takes place in the retention phase. The learner performs the learned action or behavior in the reproduction phase. Lastly, the motivation phase focuses on the learner s motivation to perform the behavior depending on their perception of reward or punishment as a consequence. This is known as vicarious reinforcement (Bastable , 2008). Following the theme of conflict in the novel the Son of Neptune, Rick Riordan uses conflict to make the piece of writing more interesting. Riordan incorporates different types of conflict in the novel to show how the heroes must co operate with each other to complete their quest. The conflict between the hero and his family shows a subsequent reaction further in the novel. The author is showing the hero struggling with his family which helps to form a closer bond with his friends. Riordan shows the hero separating himself from his father, Mars, the god of war, whom the hero despises, by working closer with his friends on the quest that is given to them (Son of Neptune, 151). When this meeting occurs, the hero is confronted by old memories which handicap him during the quest and needs the help of his friends to aid him on his quest. As well as mentally in conflict with his family, the hero displays common exhibits of grief for his family which is an opening to express hurt or anger from experience elsewhere (Varieties of Family Conflict in Adolescence). The author shows the hero using the death of his mother and his new found father to inflict pain on other family members. With this much trouble in his family, Riordan shows how the hero depends on his friends to help him throughout the story. As well as being in conflict with his family, the hero is battling the thought of dying every single day. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Antitrust laws were laws made to reduce competition between companies and prevent monopolies from forming (National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933). Since these codes did not apply to antitrust laws it basically gave businesses the opportunity to create monopolies. After monopolies were created, it had raised the prices on goods and services. That is certainly not the best thing for an economy, and to add more fuel to the fire deflation was also a major problem during this time. Deflation is the lowering of the price of goods and services. These higher prices were made on purpose to allow people like farmers to prosper. • 42. A Common Understanding Of Weather Menace 1. What is fog? A common understanding of this weather menace must be established before delving into its dangers. Layman s terms suggest that fog is a low hovering cloud which limits the visibility at ground level in a wide variety of intensity. From personal experience, fog may prevent you from locating your own home, or may simply cause the air to feel moist. Fog forms when the difference between air temperature and dew point is generally less than 4 °F. Fog begins to form when water vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets suspended in the air, usually also clinging to pollutants or naturally occurring particles (ex: dust, salt, etc.) Water vapor is added to the air by: wind convergence into areas of upward direction, precipitation, daytime heating which evaporates water from the surface of large bodies of water, oceans or wetlands; transpiration from plants, cool or dry air moving over warmer water, and lifting air over mountains. Think of fog as a lower rendition of the cloud form stratus; meaning it is a lower deck that occurs when a cool air mass is confined under a warm air mass. 2. Different types of fogs?
