Political, Social, And Political Changes In The Medieval Ages
In Medieval Europe Kingdoms there were many changes. Most of the changes were good for the
world. The changes in medieval times can be drawn comparison to todays world. The changes focused
on will be political, social, and economic. These changes will help people understand a small part of
the worlds history. There were many political changes in Europe s Medieval society. In Medieval
Europe it showed the largest growth in the society in Europe. The government was also made into
bureaucracies, bureaucrats did not have full control over the people. Europe helped influence many
places around them. The rulers did not have complete rule of there people, it leads to a more self
governed society. The rulers in the society more made rules for the people, made ideas for battle, and
found out ways to strengthen their communities as a whole. This did cause plenty of fights in
Medieval Europe over who had the most power. The popes were important to the people back then.
After the fight between pope and government Europe was seeing the world with a new eye. Political
changes helped sculpt the world that in present day, and will help effect life for a long time to come.
Another important fact to the changing of Medieval Europe is the social changes. There were new
social classes that came into play at this time. Merchants and artisans helped in the change of the
social classes. Even though women did increase the Europe world they were still considered defined
by men in the time.

The Intelligence and National Security Architecture of the...
This essay will detail the intelligence and national security architecture of the Republic of Korea
(ROK South Korea). It will discuss how the current structures were developed and the effectiveness
the ROK services and agencies, and thirdly it will look at key events that have led to reforms and
restructuring of the system, and if those changes have produced better outcomes.
In 1905 Korea became a protectorate of Imperial Japan following the Russo Japanese war and in 1910
Japan annexed Korea as a colony. After the Japanese surrender to United States and allied forces in
1945 following the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Korea regained its independence
from Japan, establishing a Republic of Korea (ROK) in the southern half ... Show more content on

This has fostered an environment in which the south has had to learn lessons and adapt quickly to
survive.
Security and intelligence capabilities of the ROK consist of both civilian and military services.
Agencies that come under the military command structure of the over arching Ministry of National
Security include the Coast Guard (including the former Civilian Marine Police Force), Defense
Security Command (DSC) with its several subsidiary agencies, and the Homeland Defence Forces
(Regional Combat Forces).
Civilian services include the Korean National Police agency (KNP), the ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Trade (formerly known as the Ministry of the Interior) and the National Intelligence Service
(NIS), (formerly the National Information Agency (NIA), formerly the Agency for National Security
Planning (ANSP), formerly the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA). Also included in the
civilian services is the Presidential Security Service.
The primary intelligence and security agency of the ROK is the NIS which is a cabinet level agency
that is directly accountable to the president. The NIS is the lead agency on intelligence gathering,
analysis and dissemination of intelligence product and works with the support of other civilian and
military services.
The NIS is an intelligence organization

Ordo Virtutum By Hildegard Von Bingen
Hildegard von Bingen s Ordo Virtutum was one of the most profound liturgical dramas ahead of its
time. It is the only musical dramas to survive that include the texts and music. The play was written in
Latin text, for entertainment purposes of Hildegard s community of noblewomen. This musical play is
a morality play with allegorical characters, which includes prophets, virtues, and an innocent soul. The
play is a symbolic interpretation between good and evil, a battle between the devil and virtues for the
innocent soul. The play uses sixteen virtues in order to fight off satan and guide the soul into a
righteous path into heaven.
Hildegard uses various musical techniques to distinguish the virtues, patriarchs, and the devil. The

Case Study On Intellectual Property
Based on Zizi s case study, there are some legal issues on intellectual property and the legal methods
that Zizi have to understand so that he may employ to protect his business property.
The purpose of intellectual property is to encourage creativity as well as to ensure reimbursement for
the labour of individuals. There are different type of intellectual property such as patent, trademark,
and copyright.
Patent is concerned about how it works rather than focus on the abstract ideas. In other words, it focus
on the process or method of making of a work or invention. On the other hand, trademark is a symbol
or sign which form by letter or number. It used to indicate a particular product or services. In addition,
trademark enable people to differentiate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So that, he can take precautions for possible infringement.
According to the law of breach of confidence in the context of intellectual property is meant to protect
secrets and confidential. In addition, the law of confidence often acts complementary to copyright law
as well as the patent law. According to the case study of Zizi, when Zizi narrates the idea for a
software program to the Ben, the programmer. The latter would be under an obligation not to exploit
the idea without the permission of Zizi. Therefore, if Andrew uses the idea of Zizi without permission,
Andrew has infringe the breach of confidence.
On the other hand, fiduciary relationship such as partnership and trusts have been held to be relevant
in determining a duty of confidence. For example the case of Morison v Moat (1851). Therefore, if
Zizi found that his partner has break the duty of confidence. Zizi can take action about it.
Employment contracts usually have express terms imposing an obligation of confidence. All employee
will be under the obligation to protect trade secrets, even if this is not an express term in the contact.
For example, case of Hivac Ltd v Park Royal Scientific Instruments Ltd

Technology on the Rise
Technology has been growing throughout the years; ever changing and evolving in all new ways. It
has come natural to us by now, to use technology on anything and everything. We use technology for
even the littlest things, such as looking up a recipe for a meal, or the name of an actor. It seems to be
that the more technology develops, the more addicted and the more dependent we become. If we
really think about how many times we use technology a day, we will start to realize how much it has
consumed us. Think about how many times a day you see someone on their phone, or on a computer.
Now you start to realize how addicted we are. It s so common for us to use and see people use
technology, that we take it for granted and never think twice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

People who use their cell phones while driving are not only a danger to themselves but to everyone
else on the road. It s estimated that at least 23% of all car accidents each year involve cell phone use
that s 1.3 million crashes. (Statistics, lines 38 39) The increased use in cellular devices seems to be
very distracting to drivers and therefore becoming a hazard. Sometimes, you might catch someone
walking into a wall or bumping into others, as if they were a zombie, because they are too distracted
by their technology. As technology can help save our lives in many different ways, it can also be what
causes our lives to be at risk; we should be cautious and careful how we use it and never become
zombified by it. Technology has not only made things easier for us but has made things in life a lot
faster. Cars, trains, planes, and boats have made traveling around the world so much faster. Places that
would take us days to get by car, we can simply take a plane and get there in a few hours. Phone calls,
texting, E mail, and social media have made it so much faster to talk to friends who live hours always
or even across the world. You can now Facetime or Skype with family and friends to keep in touch,
face to face. Computers now make sending files to jobs, schools, and friends very fast and efficient.
Technology allows us to do many things much faster, but does that make us more dependent on it.
Most people have had that moment when they can t feel their cell

The Three Major Theories Of International Relations
Midterm
International relations theories are a set of ideas that explain how states work within global system of
alliances and shared interests. What separates a theory from an ideology is concrete evidence of
practice and deep reasoning that backs up the theory. The three major theories of international
relations are realism, liberalism, and constructivism. I believe Realism theory, which states that states
only act in their own interests and to increase their own power relative to other states most accurately
predicts the behavior of states. If we assume that states act primarily on the foundation of security for
their people, it is rational to assume international relation theories find greater application during
periods of war and revolutions, where rulers are more pressed to provide stability. In times like those,
we see how states are compelled to act out of self interest to maintain a dominant status.
Realist theorists argue that politics should be viewed as it currently exists, and not how one would
wish the world operated. When looking at the international system, realists focus their beliefs on how
international relations work based upon the idea of power and security. The definition of Realism, as
defined by John Mearsheimer in Anarchy and the Struggle for Power, explains realism through five
assumptions with total hegemony as a goal. The first assumption is that an international system of
anarchy lacks of any central authority. The second assumption is that

Narrative Structure Of Memento
Time can be a thinker s most thought provoking yet infuriating concept to grasp. Infinitely complex,
time plays a crucial role in everyone s life. We do not know much about it, other than that it is there.
What is before time or after time? Most movies move through a linear fashion. There is a beginning,
middle, and end. Narrative structure can slightly be bended or modified, but for the most part it
follows the same basic formula. The movie Memento (2000), directed by Christopher Nolan, follows
Leonard Shelby, the main character with short term memory loss, trying to avenge his fallen spouse.
He only remembers up until the time his head was bashed into a mirror after his spouse was sexually
assaulted. The movie is told in a unique way through two stories that do not make complete sense until
the end. Memento s unconventional narrative structure puts the audience into Leonard s shoes, which
is apparent in the movie s convoluted flashbacks, out of sequence story, and bleak ending.
One of the most conventional uses of a flashback is to give the viewer some answers through back
story. In Memento, the audience is getting information thrown at them, but it is confusing and
mysterious. It invites the viewer to ask more questions rather than answer questions. Nolan does this
intentionally, so that the audience relates to Leonard s jumbled life. Roger Ebert, a well known film
reviewer, wrote One striking element of the film is a series of flashbacks that illuminate, or confuse,
the

Wisconsin-Madison Research Paper
The University of Wisconsin Madison struck my eye from the very first time I stepped on campus. It
was a beautiful morning in November; the air was brisk, the sun was shining, and the leaves were just
beginning to fall. Being from Arizona, there were only two seasonal weather patterns that existed:
really hot with a nice, cool winter. I had loved every second at home, but I was ready to experience
something new.
I never knew anyone who had attended the University of Wisconsin Madison, which made the entire
visiting trip feel personal and unique. My initial undergraduate major fluctuated between the business
and engineering world. I was constantly reminded by my parents about how the typical college student
changes their major six times, so I had a desire to pursue a school with a plethora of options. Luckily,
the University of Wisconsin Madison had top tier programs in both fields. ... Show more content on

alive. Even in harsher weather conditions, the students make it out to the games, filling the seats high
and heavy with a sea of screaming red Badgers. Furthermore, the Badgers excel in every sport,
including my personal favorite, hockey. To be apart of a dominate Big Ten school is everything I had
dreamt of. What makes the University of Wisconsin different from other power five schools is their
ability to switch into student mode. The majority of athletically gifted universities tend to focus their
time on athletics alone, whereas the University of Wisconsin Madison values both education and

Analysis Of saturn His Son, At The Museum Of El Prado...
I first saw this painting, Saturn Devouring His Son, at the Museum of El Prado alongside the other
Black Paintings. My initial reaction was of fear. These are artworks that should not be simply seen in
front of a computer screen. The thickness of the paint and the careful attention to details; these are
things that are missed if not seen in person. Upon walking into the small room the first painting that
draws the attention of visitors is this painting. Not only is this a grotesque piece in an otherwise
frightening room, Saturn also looks like he s rather enjoying this action, and his intense glare from his
bulging eyes gives the impression as if you (the viewer) are the next target. The goal for this essay is
to show Goya s way of depicting events that have affected not only society but him personally.
It is a mythological subject that literally shows Saturn devouring his son. Light is very important as it
focuses directly on the face of Saturn and the body of his son. It is a blinding light that leaves the dark
background with a feeling of gloominess. The composition revolves around a single plane in which
Saturn is placed devouring his victim. The dark background marks the sense of depth. Violent motion
appreciates both his posture, and his mouth. His face reflects an expression of drama and tenebrism.
The predominant color on the drawing emphasizes the dark tones that contrast with the clarity of the
body of the victim. His deformity produces more drama in the scene.

My Fourth Performance Analysis
My fourth performance will be a group performance that focuses on the story of Julio, from the book
Underground America: Narratives of Undocumented Lives. Julio is an immigrant that tries to cross the
border seven times, and on the eighth time he goes through terrible circumstances only to make it
through the desert alive. My group will try to use theories of Conquergood, Pollock, and Bell, while
keeping in mind the second learning objective in order to execute Julio s story properly. We ve taken
great pains to ensure that we keep Conquergood s theory of dialogic performance in mind. Since we
are committing to the piece and understanding Julio s story, we are not in danger of falling into the
Skeptic s Cop out or the Custodian s Rip Off (Conquergood, 1985, pg. 5). We have to ensure that we
balance the idea of being enthusiastic to portray him realistically and to show Julio s story, while
trying to not portray Julio as a fascinating story that is represented as a freak show (Conquergood,
1985, pg. 7). There needs to be an interaction with ourselves as performers and the story without

Jim Hawkins Quotes In Treasure Island
Jim Hawkins is the main character in Treasure Island. Jim playes many roles including a spy, a cabin
boy, a son, and many others. He is very honest and loyal. For example, when he was held hstage at the
stockade, Dr. Livesey told him to run for the woods and escape, but he wouldn t do it because it wasn t
a honest thing to do. In the beggining of the book, Jim was just a shy boy who helped with the family
inn. Once his father dies, and him and his mother have to escape from pirates, he starts to gain his
bravery and courage. The story continues and he is faced with many challenges. As he works through
thease challenges, he becomes stronger, braver, and more confident. He becomes a great ali, and hero
to Captain Smollett and his men. Long John Silver is a strange character because at first he seems
good, and freindly, when actually he is planning a secret mutiny. Then once his plan is reaveled, he
actes cruel, and unforgiving. When in the end, he turns out to be loyal to captain Smollett. This makes
Silver interesting and unexpected. Silver is a natral leader. He is bold, outgoing, and always shares his
opinion. Even though he is tough and cruel on the outside, I think he does have a heart. He shows this
by caring for Jim, and wanting the best for him even if he doesn t like showing it. ... Show more

Designer Paper: Viktor and Rolf and Elie Saab
Viktor and Rolf are an inseparable duo in the fashion world and I was in awe the moment I saw their
work. I was planing on researching only one side of the duo for Haute couture but all the information
on them is in sync. When in Arnhem, The Netherlands in 1992 Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren

The duo worked hard to develop their first line that premiered in 1993 (Heritage, 2015). The duo was

The dutch men have collaborated with Loreal to create a scent for the brand labeled Flowerbomb.
Then also partnered with H M. The men have also created fashion eyewear and a shoe line. With the
build up of their brand the duo has recently announced some huge news.
Viktor and Rolf have recently announced that they will no longer continue in ready to wear and
strictly focus on haute couture. They state that ready to wear is creatively restricting (Socha, M.,2015,
February). The announcement happened after their most recent collection for fall/winter 2015/16. The
show was breathtaking. Victor states that The idea was wearable art. now that we are concentrating on
couture we wanted to emphasize very literally how we have artistic roots and how fashion can be art
in our universe.
Viktor and Rolf have been very successful at creating a name for themselves. This success has led to
interest in there haute couture lines. Because of the major breakthroughs and innovative collections
the men will continue to grow. Their strong point is art and dropping their ready to wear line will
allow them to continue to push the boundaries in fashion, inspire, and awe crowds. Viktor and Rolf
have established a name and keep living up to their title. They only continue to push and strive to
invent new concepts. I expect Viktor and Rolf to define new terms for fashion and art.
For my ready to wear designer I have chosen Elie Saab. I was drawn in by Saab s

Marine Fisheries And Its Impact On The Environment
Marine fisheries make up some of the largest ecosystems/habitats that span from the coastal regions
all the way through the various oceans of the globe. In addition, the habitats and ecosystems of marine
fisheries contain some of the most diverse groups of organisms worldwide just because of the sheer
amount of the planet s surface that the oceans cover. Although the range and diversity of marine
fisheries are vast, they are declining at increasing rates. There are many factors that have led to this
decline which include climate change, pollution, and the introduction of invasive species into
particular habitats. However, the two largest factors behind the collapse of marine fisheries are
directly correlated with human interaction with the marine fisheries. One is the overexploitation by the
fishing industry, while the other is habitat alteration (mainly around the coastal areas) (Layman et. al
2011).
Findings of the Conservation Issue Marine fisheries revenues totaled about $70 billion in the late
1990s and accounted for $13 billion in net exports (Botsford, L.W., et. al., 1997). The total revenues
for marine fisheries today is $91.2 billion This huge industry also supplies a large food source to
populations around the world and is an important source of jobs for many countries. However, almost
half of the world s fish stocks are fully exploited or overexploited. Fisheries management has failed to
reach the one goal of marine fisheries, sustainability.

What Is The Theme Of Her Choice Of Life By Richard Dalloway
All events happened after the World WarⅠ, the war trauma still influenced the whole society. Excessive
pursuit of materialism deforms previously loft value system, the feeling of alienation, strangeness,
loneliness pervading the individualisms. The whole story began with the preparation for the evening
party, Clarissa buying flowers, and ended with the party. Although the time span just is in a day, we
are able to familiar with the protagonists personalities through the technique of stream of
consciousness, narrations by different narrators and multi perspectives. It seems that there is no
relevance between Clarissa and Septimus Warren Smith, but in fact, their destinies are bound together.

II. A DAY OF TROUBLE
Before we can really understand what is taking place in verse one of the chapter and to see what news
that has Hezekiah so upset, we must look back to the end of chapter 36 in which we have a field
commander of the Assyrian King who had been sent to give Hezekiah a message. Now this field
commander went to Jerusalem with a large Army and according to verse 2 He stood at the channel for
the Upper Pool on the road to Laundryman s Field . It s here that he delivers a message. It was a
message warning that the God of Israel would not save them from destruction and that they should
reject their God and put their trust in the King of Assyria.[1]
A. THE PLEA FROM HEZEKIAH
It was a message of peace and prosperity if they would follow King Sennacherib and deny the God of
Hezekiah, delivered by Rabshakeh the Field Commander. It is also eerily close to the message that the
Antichrist brings to those seen in the book of Revelation if they take the mark of the Beast.
Hezekiah of course when told of the message becomes very distressed. He is sure to be thinking of
what happened to those

The Current Banking Industry Environment Essay
Our analysis explores the current banking industry environment. This industry contains banks that
provide loans and other financial services to their clients that include commercial and business clients
and individual consumers. We looked at strengths and weaknesses to assess the strongest US banks
and what makes them successful. We focused on opportunities in the banking industry, the rise in
mobile banking technology, better customer service, and capitalizing on the rising need for home
loans to underserved consumers. Additionally, the banking industry faces threats including regulatory
issues, cyber risks, and future devaluation of the dollar. Expansion to new markets and innovations
were also analyzed. We included strengths and weaknesses of the top four banks, though we ignored
the internal analysis on the US banking industry as it is not possible to adequately analyze an
aggregated industry of banks and this is a firm level analysis.
We used databases such as Mergent Online, Business Source Complete, IBISWorld, Mintel Academic
and others to guide us to the necessary research.
Strengths and Weaknesses According to IBISworld, the top four public banks by market share, as
shown in the chart above, are Wells Fargo Company, JP Morgan Chase Co., Bank of America, and
Citigroup. (Hoffman, 2016)Since this is an industry report and an external analysis, it would not be
possible to analyze a whole category of business internally as every business is different.

John P. Kotter s Eight Stages Of Change
Introduction
The definition of change according to the Webster dictionary is to become different or to make
someone or something different. John P Kotter writes that change is always about changing the
behavior of people (preface XII) Kotter explains that change is a concept that is used by organizations
to restructure or improve their business behavior. Many companies find it difficult to initiate change
due to the lack of motivate employees or leaders. In his book Kotter proposes eight stage process that
could help organizations that are looking for change.
Discussion
The Eight important stages of change by John P. Kotter
Stage one: Establishing a Sense of Urgency
In this stage Kotter shares business stories of successful companies that increased urgency to spark a

He explains that when the right team is not there changes will not happen. Those who should be
driving change are not doing their job, and nobody wants to confront the issue, (Kotter and Cohen,

work environment will never happen. To create effective teams you need the right people that can
work together as a team. Kotten list four ingredients that are important to create a good team on page
46 of Kotter and Cohen book:
A single individual who feels great urgency usually pulls in the first people.
Individuals are selected to have the right combination of capabilities within the team.
The team is created by pulling people in and occasionally pushing people out.

Golden Circle Manipulation
In today s world manipulation is the norm. It starts from an early age, offering to trade friendship for a
piece of candy or a toy, and is used throughout our personal and professional lives to get what we
want. There are many forms of manipulating. Some invoke fear, the promise of safety, or the
opportunity to have a better version of you. Although, manipulation isn t the only way to get people to
do or boy what you d like. Why, how, and what are what is referred as the Golden Circle. According to
Simon Sinek (2009), the Golden Circle is what finds order and predictability in our behavior. It allows

Liberalism Is A Political World View
Liberalism is a political world view which was founded on the ideas of liberty, which economically
means that the government should not try to control rents, wages and to control prices but to instead
let open competition and forces of demand and supply create an equilibrium. Politically the concept is
that preservation of individual liberty and maximization of freedom should be the main aim of the
government. Liberalism states that all individuals should be equal before the law, no special privileges
for those higher up in society. Liberalism is a political and/or social philosophy promoting the
freedom of individuals in a society, parliamentary systems of government, promotes the nonviolent
change of social, economic or political institutions to ensure that it is not restricted in the development
of all spheres in human efforts and the reassurance of individual human rights. There are two main
principles of liberalism, individualism and liberty. It places the individual at the center of society and
argues that the highest social order is to be built around the individual. The purpose of society is to let
the individuals to be able to reach their full potential if that individual wants to, and to do this, is to
give the individual as much liberty as possible to reach their goal.

feeling of displeasure between the Burmese natives and the British, Orwell s pressure feelings and
imperialism resentment. According to Orwell, both the conquered and conqueror are annihilated in the
event of imperialism. While working under the British command system in Burma, his personal
experience makes him to criticize the evils that were an associate of imperialism. Explicitly, the author
stands with the Burmese people since they are most affected by the oppressions of the colonial rule.

Mikhail Gorbachev was born on March 2, 1931, in Privolnoye, Russia. In 1961, he became a delegate

medal in 1950, his father persuaded him to continue on to university. Gorbachev s academic record
was stellar, and he was accepted into Moscow University, the premier school in the Soviet Union,
without having to take the entrance exam. The university even provided him with free living
accommodations at a nearby hostel. Gorbachev graduated from Moscow University cum laude with a
law degree in 1955 and shortly afterward returned to his hometown with his new wife, Raisa, a fellow
Moscow University alumnus.
EARLY POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT
Gorbachev had become a candidate member of the Communist party while he was in high school, but
it wasn t until 1952, when he was at Moscow University, that he was granted full membership.
Once back in Stavropol after graduation, Gorbachev took a position at the Stavropol territorial
prosecutor s office. Soon after he began the job, Gorbachev ran into some old acquaintances. They
remembered him from his involvement in the Young Communist League during high school. Because
Gorbachev had shown himself to be dedicated and organized, they asked him to be the assistant
director of propaganda for the territorial committee of the local Communist youth league. Soviet
premier Joseph Stalin had died two years prior, and the Soviet Union s process of political
restructuring created an exciting climate for young Communist Party activists.

Ancient Greece Influence On Modern Society
Some of the greatest aspects of modern society came from Ancient Greece. The people of Ancient
Greece were very creative, and they designed their own buildings and theatres. They were smart
because they established the foundations for mathematics and philosophy. Ancient Greece influenced

in the areas of philosophy, mathematics, art, architecture, sports, and government had a profound
impact on modern day culture and society.
The people of Ancient Greece laid the foundations for mathematics and philosophy. Greek
philosophers, full of knowledge and wisdom, believed that ordinary humans could understand the

Alcohol Addiction Is A Never Ending Problem Essay
In the state of Wisconsin where I currently reside, alcohol addiction is a never ending problem.
Alcohol is often associated with football games, baseball and even social gatherings. Unfortunately,
alcohol can also be a coping mechanism for those who are dealing with a loss of a family member,
financial crisis or even homelessness. The cost of alcohol addiction and treatment in the State of
Wisconsin is approximately $6.8 billion and rising due to the continued abuse of alcohol (Wisconsin
Department of Health Services, 2014, p. 14). With the high usage of alcohol abuse, one must turn to

Relationship Between Empathy And Narcissism
Where did we make a wrong turn in our society regarding ethics? If students think that ethics and
codes don t apply to them, what structure do they have to base any decisions they will make in the
future? The attributes theme (specifically the focus on the person, self absorption, and the role of
narcissism and self centeredness played in ethics violations) was the most influential aspect of this
research, in my opinion. It expanded my knowledge base on the lack of ethical thinking that possibly
exists in Generation Y, students born in the 80s and 90s. I have three Generation Y children and it does
appear that they all struggle with ethical decision making. It s not because they were not exposed to
sound moral character modeled around the house. Was the lack of parental involvement while growing

Obstacles In College
Being a freshman in college, I set impractical and unrealistic goals for myself. Throughout the year, I

goals during the first year of college was to earn a 4.0 GPA. I thought this would be an easy feat as I

The Roman Catholic Church
There are always issues in the world that we have to face, they change with time but a lot of them
seem to have a common theme and that is indifference. I cannot help but think that people are
uncomfortable with anything that is different from the norm. Many of us are set in our ways and we
quickly remove any one who threatens that. A lot of us come from a set of foundations that help create
who we are. While doing research for this paper I searched for topics that interest me. I also searched
for a topic that anyone would be able to give their opinion on. This search lead me to the 266th Pope
of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis. Much to my surprise he is extremely popular in this
modern time. Many call him the pope of the new world. The model of millions of Catholics around
the world. As a child my family often had figures from the Catholic Church around the house. Saints,
crosses and even small statues of popes who served in the past. As I grew older I came to realize that
this was a common trend in a Dominican family home. As I reflect back into what my childhood was

What a terrifying situation to be in! [Amanda Hampson]. Affluenza Materialism: Materialism is also
an indication of this sickness we call Affluenza . What brings about materialism and causes Affluenza
? This simple answer is marketers by using a plenty of information that cannot be avoided they seduce
consumers to buy trough various media [Blenkhorn and N. Wright]. Advertisements Affluenza: It
would be reasonable to believe that if someone view a commercial even half the number of times they
would feel the need to buy or use that product, wouldn t it? Some would say the simple solution would
be to turn off the TV, but that wouldn t solve the problem of marketers attempting to condition
consumers either. Advertising accounts 2/3 of the space in newspapers and 40% of all mail, [Kirsch,

with all of these advertisements one can shop around, compare the prices and find the best deals for

In fact, using Adderall and other cognitive enhancing drugs in the workplace is a controversial issue
for many companies. Similar to taking off label medicines in football games, many people consider
taking drugs in the workplace as an unethical action. If the management promote employees who use
Adderall to boost their working performance, it will be unfair for others who only work by their
natural abilities. In contrast, if the promotion is based on medicines usages, this will violate employees
privacy. Besides the ethical issues, the management should also consider the strategy issues in order to

from classical music and leaned more towards jazz and blues. In the 1950 s, she played in Atlantic
City clubs. She started singing with her music because the bar owner insisted she do so. She had to
think of a stage name to keep her mother from finding out, so she took the stage name Nina Simone.

they were dating, and Simone was inspired by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1960 s, Nina became known as the voice of the Civil Rights Movement. One of her most
famous songs, Mississippi Goddamned, was banned on southern radios because some say goddam was

When she wrote it, Simone had been fed up with the country s racial unrest. Medgar Evers, a
Mississippi born civil rights activist, was assassinated in his home state in 1963. That same year, the
Ku Klux Klan bombed a Birmingham Baptist church and as a result, four young black girls were
killed. Simone took to her notebook and piano to express her

The Torus Shaped Vessel
2.3 Diverter Applications
The diverter is located at the bottom of the torus shaped vessel and is designed to extract heat from the
plasma as well as the exhaust fumes of the reaction occurring which are helium and any impurities
from the first wall of the reactor. The basic concept of a diverter used within a tokamak design can be
understood better by looking at figure x which is a diagram of JET after it had a divertor fitted. The
separatrix is the last field line which contains the plasma. The magnetic field transports the plasma to
the diverters at the bottom as shown where the heat energy strikes the diverter target plates and
conducted to pipes where it is then removed through either a water or helium cooling system and the
exhaust gases are extracted by a vacuum.
The diverter itself is made up of several components shown in figure x. The plasma facing
components are the two vertical targets and dome. A closer look at one of the vertical target in figure x
shows how the cooling system works with a pipe with cooling fluid flowing through it is fitted
through blocks of armour material which make up the targets.
Looking to the future as projects grow in size towards DEMO, which will be a functioning fusion
power plant, the demands on materials especially PFC s are going to increase. For ITER the plasma
facing components for the divertor are to be made of carbon fibre reinforced carbon composite s
(CFC) and some sections tungsten armour materials but for DEMO

Entrepreneurial Orientation In The Apple Computer Company
Entrepreneurial orientation is a key concept when organizations are creating strategies to do
something new and take advantage of opportunities that other organizations cannot exploit (Ketchen
Short, 2017). It can be defined as an organizational level strategic management, which includes
characteristic such as: autonomy, risk taking, competitive aggressiveness, innovativeness and pro
activeness. When major brands Apple and Nike implement entrepreneurial orientation successfully,
they re able to achieve high performance and quality products through innovative techniques that
allows them to maintain market dominance. We ll go into further detail discussing how both these
companies effectively executed entrepreneurial orientation to achieve such success; starting with some
background information.
Apple s history dates to 1974 when two men, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak had a vision that
inexpensive home computers would soon be in demand. Two years later, Jobs and Wozniak built their
first computer in Jobs family garage, they named it Apple I. On April 1, 1976, the Apple Computer
Company was established.

Gender and Life Expectancy
Gender and Life Expectancy It s a phenomena seen in every population and every country: women
live longer than men by 4 to 5 years everywhere. At first people tried to explain this fact by saying that
men did more dangerous things and therefore died younger. Men ride motorcycles, don t go see the
doctor and just take more risks. When the statisticians got done with the data, though, these
explanations didn t really explain much. It seems women just live longer. In fact, men are around five
times more likely to die from cardiovascular problems than women. Why could this be happening?
Life expectancy in the human race has risen dramatically in the past century (Harris, 2009) reaching
its highest level for both males and females on record (Office for National Statistics (ONS), 2006).
Japan currently has the longest surviving individual with a life span averaging 84 years for both men
and women (World Health Organization (WHO), 2006). According to Rooney et al (2004) the term
life expectancy is defined as the number of years that somebody can expect to live, according to
statistics (p. 1084).Over the last 100 years, the expectancy of life has increased and the overall goal is
to live a long and healthy life. Some social scientists have predicted that the western population has a
possible life span within the range of 85 100years. Others have suggested that with medical advances
humans can be expected to live beyond these ages. The longest lived human on record was 122 years

Social Media And Self-Esteem
Social media plays an important role in the lives of teenagers and potentially young women. It can
actually be a big influencer on their decisions being as it s a place to express yourself in many ways
even if those ways put off negative connotations to those around. Daily on social media you typically
see a lot of ads, people who you might perceive as beautiful or pretty , along with statuses and pictures
that talk about how the perfect relationship or person should be. As a teenager myself, I recognize that
a lot of young girls struggle with finding themselves and wanting to be different. Females in general
have a hard time This current generation of teenagers are more concerned with social media sites like
facebook, instagram, twitter, and snapchat. More people are concerned with the number of likes or
favorites they get rather than actual important or real world things. For a teen that struggles with self
esteem issues, it could be confusing to see a lot of pretty girls and not know why you don t or can not
look like them. Social media when used addictively has negative or harmful effects on young girls self
esteem. Social media is also an easy place to experience cyber bullying. Typically on Facebook
cyberbullying happens by one person sharing a picture of someone else that they are trying to make
fun of.This cycle happens over and over until the picture goes viral and many people have brought
attention to it. Since social media is a way for one to express themselves, people feel justified to have
the right to share what they want on their account, even though it is hurting someone else. Recently,
Facebook changed how statuses work. If you re friends with someone, you can t just automatically
share their picture. To be able to share it, they have to make the picture public so the world can already
see it. This somewhat cuts down on how many people can see you picture but it stops the chain of
someone going viral in a bad way. Since Cyber bullying is so prevalent, the rates of teen suicide have
increased and are linked to social media. On January 22nd of this year, a sixteen year old girl took her
life and broadcasted it on Facebook live. While young Naika Venant was on her live broadcast There

Character Traits Contribute To Benedict Arnold s Role In...
Certain character traits contribute to Benedict Arnold s role in history. Benedict Arnold was an
American Revolutionary War general most famous for his betrayal of the Continental Army in the
year 1780. Before he turned on his fellow Patriots, Benedict Arnold was a true war hero. He was a
complicated and interesting man that today is mostly remembered for just his treason. But, many
people forget that before Arnold was a turncoat, he was a courageous military leader that contributed
to many of the Americans victories in the Revolutionary War. Arnold was born on January 14, 1741 in
Norwich, Connecticut. He was one of five children, and only him and his sister survived childhood. At
age 15, Arnold ran away from home to join the Connecticut militia to fight in the French and Indian
War (Gaines 11). For Arnold s education, he went to a tutor at a very young age. After that, Arnold
attended Prudence Crandall s School in Canterbury and was later taught by a man known as Reverend
James Cogswell. He was expected to go to Yale, but dropped out due to father s alcoholism (Gaines ...

Arnold showed bravery in many moments, including the time when he argued with General Horatio
Gates in the Battle of Bemis Heights until he was able to force him to make an important military
decision. Arnold also later bravely disobeyed what Gates had said and helped his fellow troops on the
battlefield (Murphy 167). Bravery was also shown when he joined Ethan Allen and the Green
Mountain Boys and captured Fort Ticonderoga. Arnold had no experience in battle. But he had wits,
drive, and a lack of fear. states page thirty six of Benedict Arnold: From Patriot to Traitor on when he
received orders from the Massachusetts Committee of Safety to attack Ticonderoga (Dell 36).
Benedict also showed bravery when he led a group of one thousand troops through the Maine

The Geological Formation Of Kangaroo Point Cliffs
Kangaroo Point Cliffs are one of the most iconic places that highlight Brisbane city s history along
with the Brisbane City Hall and Story Bridge. These cliffs were known by Aborigines even before
European settlers arrived in Brisbane. The development around the Kangaroo Point Cliff was started
in the 1900s when roads were developed around the cliff. Today, the Kangaroo Point Cliff offers many
adventurous activities such as rock climbing, kayaking on the Brisbane River, Segway tours, bike
riding around the garden etc. The rocks found on these steep cliffs are known as the Brisbane Tuff .
These unique pink and green stones were also used in building public buildings during the 1820s and
1830s. The very steep feature and gas holes on the cliff plays a significant role in identifying these
cliffs a result of a volcanic eruption (Visit Brisbane, 2018). This essay analyses geological formation

Summary Of Let s Really Reform Our Schools By Anita Garland
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Nelson Mandela). In
Let s Really Reform Our Schools by Anita Garland she discusses how schools need to change to help
students succeed. Garland states, We need to completely restructure our thinking about what schools
are and what we expect of the students who attend them (620). Garland wants to better schools, so
students can be successful. Garland makes a strong argument when she states schools need uniforms,
better food and to remove disruptive students. If schools do so there will w a better learning
environment. If schools require uniforms students will not spend as much time laying out their outfits
each night. Students would not struggle with self image as much, since everyone would be wearing
the same outfit. Garland states, Kids from modest backgrounds could stand out because of their
personalities and intelligence, rather then being tagged as losers because they can t wear the season s
hottest sneakers or jeans (621). I agree with Garland not everyone can afford new clothes every
season, so if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schools should teach students how to eat healthy, so students can learn the right and wrong things that
will fuel their bodies. Garland says, What s for lunch today? How about a Milky Way bar, a bag of
Fritos, a Coke, and just to round out the meal with a vegetable, maybe some french fries. And then
back to the classroom for a few hours of intense mental activity, fueled on fat, salt, and sugar (621). I
agree with Garland. How are you going to expect students to function on sugar and fat? I personally
could never eat at school because I have a gluten allergy and there was nothing to ever eat there.
schools need to have options for students that have gluten or vegetarian option to all students not just
students with allergy. By having healthy options students would be more successful in the

  • 4. Political, Social, And Political Changes In The Medieval Ages In Medieval Europe Kingdoms there were many changes. Most of the changes were good for the world. The changes in medieval times can be drawn comparison to todays world. The changes focused on will be political, social, and economic. These changes will help people understand a small part of the worlds history. There were many political changes in Europe s Medieval society. In Medieval Europe it showed the largest growth in the society in Europe. The government was also made into bureaucracies, bureaucrats did not have full control over the people. Europe helped influence many places around them. The rulers did not have complete rule of there people, it leads to a more self governed society. The rulers in the society more made rules for the people, made ideas for battle, and found out ways to strengthen their communities as a whole. This did cause plenty of fights in Medieval Europe over who had the most power. The popes were important to the people back then. After the fight between pope and government Europe was seeing the world with a new eye. Political changes helped sculpt the world that in present day, and will help effect life for a long time to come. Another important fact to the changing of Medieval Europe is the social changes. There were new social classes that came into play at this time. Merchants and artisans helped in the change of the social classes. Even though women did increase the Europe world they were still considered defined by men in the time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the only musical dramas to survive that include the texts and music. The play was written in Latin text, for entertainment purposes of Hildegard s community of noblewomen. This musical play is a morality play with allegorical characters, which includes prophets, virtues, and an innocent soul. The play is a symbolic interpretation between good and evil, a battle between the devil and virtues for the innocent soul. The play uses sixteen virtues in order to fight off satan and guide the soul into a righteous path into heaven. • 7. Case Study On Intellectual Property Based on Zizi s case study, there are some legal issues on intellectual property and the legal methods that Zizi have to understand so that he may employ to protect his business property. The purpose of intellectual property is to encourage creativity as well as to ensure reimbursement for the labour of individuals. There are different type of intellectual property such as patent, trademark, and copyright. Patent is concerned about how it works rather than focus on the abstract ideas. In other words, it focus on the process or method of making of a work or invention. On the other hand, trademark is a symbol or sign which form by letter or number. According to the case study of Zizi, when Zizi narrates the idea for a software program to the Ben, the programmer. The latter would be under an obligation not to exploit the idea without the permission of Zizi. Therefore, if Andrew uses the idea of Zizi without permission, Andrew has infringe the breach of confidence. On the other hand, fiduciary relationship such as partnership and trusts have been held to be relevant in determining a duty of confidence. For example the case of Morison v Moat (1851). Therefore, if Zizi found that his partner has break the duty of confidence. Zizi can take action about it. Employment contracts usually have express terms imposing an obligation of confidence. • 8. Technology on the Rise Technology has been growing throughout the years; ever changing and evolving in all new ways. It has come natural to us by now, to use technology on anything and everything. We use technology for even the littlest things, such as looking up a recipe for a meal, or the name of an actor. It seems to be that the more technology develops, the more addicted and the more dependent we become. If we really think about how many times we use technology a day, we will start to realize how much it has consumed us. Think about how many times a day you see someone on their phone, or on a computer. Now you start to realize how addicted we are. It s so common for us to use and see people use technology, that we take it for granted and never think twice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People who use their cell phones while driving are not only a danger to themselves but to everyone else on the road. It s estimated that at least 23% of all car accidents each year involve cell phone use that s 1.3 million crashes. (Statistics, lines 38 39) The increased use in cellular devices seems to be very distracting to drivers and therefore becoming a hazard. Sometimes, you might catch someone walking into a wall or bumping into others, as if they were a zombie, because they are too distracted by their technology. As technology can help save our lives in many different ways, it can also be what causes our lives to be at risk; we should be cautious and careful how we use it and never become zombified by it. Technology has not only made things easier for us but has made things in life a lot faster. Cars, trains, planes, and boats have made traveling around the world so much faster. Places that would take us days to get by car, we can simply take a plane and get there in a few hours. Phone calls, texting, E mail, and social media have made it so much faster to talk to friends who live hours always or even across the world. You can now Facetime or Skype with family and friends to keep in touch, face to face. Computers now make sending files to jobs, schools, and friends very fast and efficient. Technology allows us to do many things much faster, but does that make us more dependent on it. Most people have had that moment when they can t feel their cell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Three Major Theories Of International Relations Midterm International relations theories are a set of ideas that explain how states work within global system of alliances and shared interests. What separates a theory from an ideology is concrete evidence of practice and deep reasoning that backs up the theory. The three major theories of international relations are realism, liberalism, and constructivism. I believe Realism theory, which states that states only act in their own interests and to increase their own power relative to other states most accurately predicts the behavior of states. If we assume that states act primarily on the foundation of security for their people, it is rational to assume international relation theories find greater application during periods of war and revolutions, where rulers are more pressed to provide stability. In times like those, we see how states are compelled to act out of self interest to maintain a dominant status. Realist theorists argue that politics should be viewed as it currently exists, and not how one would wish the world operated. When looking at the international system, realists focus their beliefs on how international relations work based upon the idea of power and security. The definition of Realism, as defined by John Mearsheimer in Anarchy and the Struggle for Power, explains realism through five assumptions with total hegemony as a goal. The first assumption is that an international system of anarchy lacks of any central authority. The second assumption is that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Narrative Structure Of Memento Time can be a thinker s most thought provoking yet infuriating concept to grasp. Infinitely complex, time plays a crucial role in everyone s life. We do not know much about it, other than that it is there. What is before time or after time? Most movies move through a linear fashion. There is a beginning, middle, and end. Narrative structure can slightly be bended or modified, but for the most part it follows the same basic formula. The movie Memento (2000), directed by Christopher Nolan, follows Leonard Shelby, the main character with short term memory loss, trying to avenge his fallen spouse. He only remembers up until the time his head was bashed into a mirror after his spouse was sexually assaulted. The movie is told in a unique way through two stories that do not make complete sense until the end. Memento s unconventional narrative structure puts the audience into Leonard s shoes, which is apparent in the movie s convoluted flashbacks, out of sequence story, and bleak ending. One of the most conventional uses of a flashback is to give the viewer some answers through back story. In Memento, the audience is getting information thrown at them, but it is confusing and mysterious. It invites the viewer to ask more questions rather than answer questions. Nolan does this intentionally, so that the audience relates to Leonard s jumbled life. Roger Ebert, a well known film reviewer, wrote One striking element of the film is a series of flashbacks that illuminate, or confuse, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Wisconsin-Madison Research Paper The University of Wisconsin Madison struck my eye from the very first time I stepped on campus. It was a beautiful morning in November; the air was brisk, the sun was shining, and the leaves were just beginning to fall. Being from Arizona, there were only two seasonal weather patterns that existed: really hot with a nice, cool winter. I had loved every second at home, but I was ready to experience something new. I never knew anyone who had attended the University of Wisconsin Madison, which made the entire visiting trip feel personal and unique. My initial undergraduate major fluctuated between the business and engineering world. I was constantly reminded by my parents about how the typical college student changes their major six times, so I had a desire to pursue a school with a plethora of options. Luckily, the University of Wisconsin Madison had top tier programs in both fields. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. Analysis Of saturn His Son, At The Museum Of El Prado... I first saw this painting, Saturn Devouring His Son, at the Museum of El Prado alongside the other Black Paintings. My initial reaction was of fear. These are artworks that should not be simply seen in front of a computer screen. The thickness of the paint and the careful attention to details; these are things that are missed if not seen in person. Upon walking into the small room the first painting that draws the attention of visitors is this painting. Not only is this a grotesque piece in an otherwise frightening room, Saturn also looks like he s rather enjoying this action, and his intense glare from his bulging eyes gives the impression as if you (the viewer) are the next target. The goal for this essay is to show Goya s way of depicting events that have affected not only society but him personally. It is a mythological subject that literally shows Saturn devouring his son. Light is very important as it focuses directly on the face of Saturn and the body of his son. It is a blinding light that leaves the dark background with a feeling of gloominess. The composition revolves around a single plane in which Saturn is placed devouring his victim. The dark background marks the sense of depth. Violent motion appreciates both his posture, and his mouth. His face reflects an expression of drama and tenebrism. The predominant color on the drawing emphasizes the dark tones that contrast with the clarity of the body of the victim. His deformity produces more drama in the scene. ... Julio is an immigrant that tries to cross the border seven times, and on the eighth time he goes through terrible circumstances only to make it through the desert alive. My group will try to use theories of Conquergood, Pollock, and Bell, while keeping in mind the second learning objective in order to execute Julio s story properly. We ve taken great pains to ensure that we keep Conquergood s theory of dialogic performance in mind. Since we are committing to the piece and understanding Julio s story, we are not in danger of falling into the Skeptic s Cop out or the Custodian s Rip Off (Conquergood, 1985, pg. 5). We have to ensure that we balance the idea of being enthusiastic to portray him realistically and to show Julio s story, while trying to not portray Julio as a fascinating story that is represented as a freak show (Conquergood, 1985, pg. 7). As he works through thease challenges, he becomes stronger, braver, and more confident. He becomes a great ali, and hero to Captain Smollett and his men. Long John Silver is a strange character because at first he seems good, and freindly, when actually he is planning a secret mutiny. Then once his plan is reaveled, he actes cruel, and unforgiving. When in the end, he turns out to be loyal to captain Smollett. This makes Silver interesting and unexpected. Silver is a natral leader. He is bold, outgoing, and always shares his opinion. • 16. Marine Fisheries And Its Impact On The Environment Marine fisheries make up some of the largest ecosystems/habitats that span from the coastal regions all the way through the various oceans of the globe. In addition, the habitats and ecosystems of marine fisheries contain some of the most diverse groups of organisms worldwide just because of the sheer amount of the planet s surface that the oceans cover. Although the range and diversity of marine fisheries are vast, they are declining at increasing rates. There are many factors that have led to this decline which include climate change, pollution, and the introduction of invasive species into particular habitats. However, the two largest factors behind the collapse of marine fisheries are directly correlated with human interaction with the marine fisheries. One is the overexploitation by the fishing industry, while the other is habitat alteration (mainly around the coastal areas) (Layman et. al 2011). Findings of the Conservation Issue Marine fisheries revenues totaled about $70 billion in the late 1990s and accounted for $13 billion in net exports (Botsford, L.W., et. al., 1997). The total revenues for marine fisheries today is $91.2 billion This huge industry also supplies a large food source to populations around the world and is an important source of jobs for many countries. However, almost half of the world s fish stocks are fully exploited or overexploited. Fisheries management has failed to reach the one goal of marine fisheries, sustainability. ... Excessive pursuit of materialism deforms previously loft value system, the feeling of alienation, strangeness, loneliness pervading the individualisms. The whole story began with the preparation for the evening party, Clarissa buying flowers, and ended with the party. Although the time span just is in a day, we are able to familiar with the protagonists personalities through the technique of stream of consciousness, narrations by different narrators and multi perspectives. • 19. II. A DAY OF TROUBLE Before we can really understand what is taking place in verse one of the chapter and to see what news that has Hezekiah so upset, we must look back to the end of chapter 36 in which we have a field commander of the Assyrian King who had been sent to give Hezekiah a message. Now this field commander went to Jerusalem with a large Army and according to verse 2 He stood at the channel for the Upper Pool on the road to Laundryman s Field . It s here that he delivers a message. It was a message warning that the God of Israel would not save them from destruction and that they should reject their God and put their trust in the King of Assyria.[1] A. THE PLEA FROM HEZEKIAH It was a message of peace and prosperity if they would follow King Sennacherib and deny the God of Hezekiah, delivered by Rabshakeh the Field Commander. It is also eerily close to the message that the Antichrist brings to those seen in the book of Revelation if they take the mark of the Beast. • 20. The Current Banking Industry Environment Essay Our analysis explores the current banking industry environment. This industry contains banks that provide loans and other financial services to their clients that include commercial and business clients and individual consumers. We looked at strengths and weaknesses to assess the strongest US banks and what makes them successful. We focused on opportunities in the banking industry, the rise in mobile banking technology, better customer service, and capitalizing on the rising need for home loans to underserved consumers. Additionally, the banking industry faces threats including regulatory issues, cyber risks, and future devaluation of the dollar. Expansion to new markets and innovations were also analyzed. We included strengths and weaknesses of the top four banks, though we ignored the internal analysis on the US banking industry as it is not possible to adequately analyze an aggregated industry of banks and this is a firm level analysis. We used databases such as Mergent Online, Business Source Complete, IBISWorld, Mintel Academic and others to guide us to the necessary research. Strengths and Weaknesses According to IBISworld, the top four public banks by market share, as shown in the chart above, are Wells Fargo Company, JP Morgan Chase Co., Bank of America, and Citigroup. (Hoffman, 2016)Since this is an industry report and an external analysis, it would not be possible to analyze a whole category of business internally as every business is different. ... I cannot help but think that people are uncomfortable with anything that is different from the norm. Many of us are set in our ways and we quickly remove any one who threatens that. A lot of us come from a set of foundations that help create who we are. While doing research for this paper I searched for topics that interest me. I also searched for a topic that anyone would be able to give their opinion on. This search lead me to the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis. Much to my surprise he is extremely popular in this modern time. Many call him the pope of the new world. The model of millions of Catholics around the world. As a child my family often had figures from the Catholic Church around the house. Saints, crosses and even small statues of popes who served in the past. As I grew older I came to realize that this was a common trend in a Dominican family home. As I reflect back into what my childhood was like and how huge of impact religion had on my core foundations. I thought of family members who I thought had the biggest impact. I was a caregiver to my aunt, she had stage four lung cancer, this involved me helping her get ready for the day but before she could do anything in the morning my aunt would watch a church service with her rosary in hand. This would take an at least an hour of my day ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Affluenza in American Society Introduction: The basic purpose of this essay is to evaluate a common disorder of our society that is infecting people throughout World and particularly in the U.S. This disorder is called Affluenza it is very catching and once polluted with the disease it is difficult to be overthrown. Affluenza is characterized as an unhealthful connection with money, blown up hopes and tiresome efforts to keep up with the Joneses. Affluenza creates anxiety, bankruptcy, and becomes the reason of several problems in associations. Even though, there are some people who have unlike definitions for Affluenza . Many people find Affluenza to be a rich man s mental sickness and have responded by suggesting that the world has bigger problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What a terrifying situation to be in! [Amanda Hampson]. Affluenza Materialism: Materialism is also an indication of this sickness we call Affluenza . What brings about materialism and causes Affluenza ? This simple answer is marketers by using a plenty of information that cannot be avoided they seduce consumers to buy trough various media [Blenkhorn and N. Wright]. Advertisements Affluenza: It would be reasonable to believe that if someone view a commercial even half the number of times they would feel the need to buy or use that product, wouldn t it? Some would say the simple solution would be to turn off the TV, but that wouldn t solve the problem of marketers attempting to condition consumers either. Advertising accounts 2/3 of the space in newspapers and 40% of all mail, [Kirsch, T.]. This would seem to go against my research that Affluenza can be prevented. But on the opposing with all of these advertisements one can shop around, compare the prices and find the best deals for him or her using the marketers plan against them and finding the best quality product that fits ones resources, and standard of living. Although, marketers are in the business of promoting materialism and in turn perpetuating Affluenza it all comes down to personal choice and self control. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evergreen Management Essay Problem Statement: The main problem facing Evergreen management is how to make the promotion decision when the best candidate, Charlie Pace, is taking the medication off label Adderall to enhance his working performance. Albert, a senior partner at Evergreen Investments, finds it difficult to make his final personnel decision which is fair for both Charlie Pace and Daniel Faraday as well as benefit the company in long term. In fact, using Adderall and other cognitive enhancing drugs in the workplace is a controversial issue for many companies. Similar to taking off label medicines in football games, many people consider taking drugs in the workplace as an unethical action. If the management promote employees who use Adderall to boost their working performance, it will be unfair for others who only work by their natural abilities. In contrast, if the promotion is based on medicines usages, this will violate employees privacy. Besides the ethical issues, the management should also consider the strategy issues in order to make a wise personnel decision. This means that the management should be able to predict how the decision affects the company in the future. For example, although Adderall and other cognitive enhancing drugs can help people to feel stronger, more energetic and exciting, their benefits will dissipate after a period of time. If the employees stop taking Adderall, they might not maintain their working performance. As a result, their productivity might be decreased, and the profit of the company will be negatively affected. Some people believe Adderall may help them to improve their brainpower and concentration; however, others argue that they are unhealthy and cause a lot of serious side effects. Users have to suffer unexpected negative effects of this medicine and may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eunice taught piano and worked as an accompanist for other performers when she attended Juilliard; however, she had to leave school after she ran out of funds. She moved to Philadelphia and lived with her family there in order to save money and go to a more affordable music program. She was rejected from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and later claimed the school denied her admittance because she was African American. Not long after, Eunice decided to turn away from classical music and leaned more towards jazz and blues. In the 1950 s, she played in Atlantic City clubs. She started singing with her music because the bar owner insisted she do so. She had to think of a stage name to keep her mother from finding out, so she took the stage name Nina Simone. • 43. The Torus Shaped Vessel 2.3 Diverter Applications The diverter is located at the bottom of the torus shaped vessel and is designed to extract heat from the plasma as well as the exhaust fumes of the reaction occurring which are helium and any impurities from the first wall of the reactor. The basic concept of a diverter used within a tokamak design can be understood better by looking at figure x which is a diagram of JET after it had a divertor fitted. The separatrix is the last field line which contains the plasma. The magnetic field transports the plasma to the diverters at the bottom as shown where the heat energy strikes the diverter target plates and conducted to pipes where it is then removed through either a water or helium cooling system and the exhaust gases are extracted by a vacuum. The diverter itself is made up of several components shown in figure x. The plasma facing components are the two vertical targets and dome. A closer look at one of the vertical target in figure x shows how the cooling system works with a pipe with cooling fluid flowing through it is fitted through blocks of armour material which make up the targets. Looking to the future as projects grow in size towards DEMO, which will be a functioning fusion power plant, the demands on materials especially PFC s are going to increase. For ITER the plasma facing components for the divertor are to be made of carbon fibre reinforced carbon composite s (CFC) and some sections tungsten armour materials but for DEMO ... • 46. Gender and Life Expectancy Gender and Life Expectancy It s a phenomena seen in every population and every country: women live longer than men by 4 to 5 years everywhere. At first people tried to explain this fact by saying that men did more dangerous things and therefore died younger. Men ride motorcycles, don t go see the doctor and just take more risks. When the statisticians got done with the data, though, these explanations didn t really explain much. It seems women just live longer. In fact, men are around five times more likely to die from cardiovascular problems than women. Why could this be happening? Life expectancy in the human race has risen dramatically in the past century (Harris, 2009) reaching its highest level for both males and females on record (Office for National Statistics (ONS), 2006). Japan currently has the longest surviving individual with a life span averaging 84 years for both men and women (World Health Organization (WHO), 2006). According to Rooney et al (2004) the term life expectancy is defined as the number of years that somebody can expect to live, according to statistics (p. 1084).Over the last 100 years, the expectancy of life has increased and the overall goal is to live a long and healthy life. Some social scientists have predicted that the western population has a possible life span within the range of 85 100years. Others have suggested that with medical advances humans can be expected to live beyond these ages. The longest lived human on record was 122 years ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Social Media And Self-Esteem Social media plays an important role in the lives of teenagers and potentially young women. It can actually be a big influencer on their decisions being as it s a place to express yourself in many ways even if those ways put off negative connotations to those around. Daily on social media you typically see a lot of ads, people who you might perceive as beautiful or pretty , along with statuses and pictures that talk about how the perfect relationship or person should be. As a teenager myself, I recognize that a lot of young girls struggle with finding themselves and wanting to be different. Females in general have a hard time This current generation of teenagers are more concerned with social media sites like facebook, instagram, twitter, and snapchat. More people are concerned with the number of likes or favorites they get rather than actual important or real world things. For a teen that struggles with self esteem issues, it could be confusing to see a lot of pretty girls and not know why you don t or can not look like them. Social media when used addictively has negative or harmful effects on young girls self esteem. Social media is also an easy place to experience cyber bullying. Typically on Facebook cyberbullying happens by one person sharing a picture of someone else that they are trying to make fun of.This cycle happens over and over until the picture goes viral and many people have brought attention to it. Since social media is a way for one to express themselves, people feel justified to have the right to share what they want on their account, even though it is hurting someone else. Recently, Facebook changed how statuses work. If you re friends with someone, you can t just automatically share their picture. To be able to share it, they have to make the picture public so the world can already see it. This somewhat cuts down on how many people can see you picture but it stops the chain of someone going viral in a bad way. Since Cyber bullying is so prevalent, the rates of teen suicide have increased and are linked to social media. On January 22nd of this year, a sixteen year old girl took her life and broadcasted it on Facebook live. While young Naika Venant was on her live broadcast There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Benedict Arnold was an American Revolutionary War general most famous for his betrayal of the Continental Army in the year 1780. Before he turned on his fellow Patriots, Benedict Arnold was a true war hero. He was a complicated and interesting man that today is mostly remembered for just his treason. But, many people forget that before Arnold was a turncoat, he was a courageous military leader that contributed to many of the Americans victories in the Revolutionary War. Arnold was born on January 14, 1741 in Norwich, Connecticut. He was one of five children, and only him and his sister survived childhood. At age 15, Arnold ran away from home to join the Connecticut militia to fight in the French and Indian War (Gaines 11). For Arnold s education, he went to a tutor at a very young age. In Let s Really Reform Our Schools by Anita Garland she discusses how schools need to change to help students succeed. Garland states, We need to completely restructure our thinking about what schools are and what we expect of the students who attend them (620). Garland wants to better schools, so students can be successful. Garland makes a strong argument when she states schools need uniforms, better food and to remove disruptive students. If schools do so there will w a better learning environment. If schools require uniforms students will not spend as much time laying out their outfits each night. Students would not struggle with self image as much, since everyone would be wearing the same outfit. Garland states, Kids from modest backgrounds could stand out because of their personalities and intelligence, rather then being tagged as losers because they can t wear the season s hottest sneakers or jeans (621).
