Relation Between Islamic Spirituality And Sufism Beyond...
Relation between Islamic spirituality and Sufism beyond ordinary understanding. The concept of
Sufism in Islam is a Muslim who believes in Allah and seeks Allah and spent all life in truth.
Following Islam, loving Allah, and seeking direct experience of Allah. Islamic civilization was
flourishing and rising exponentially with the Sufi philosophy in Islam the spread of Sufism has been
considered a fixated factor in the spread of Islam and in the creation of rich Islamic society especially
in Africa and Asia. Between the 13th and 16th century, Sufism was on the rise and became a widely
respected practice and many famous scholars and spiritual masters were educated during this period.
They practiced the Tasawwuf, purification of heart, self discipline, and they guided and teaches people
the discipline of Fiqh and moral lives, and by the end of the 13th century Sufism became a school of
thought and a science of spiritual awakening. Sufism or Tasawwuf is the spiritual path towards Allah
by following the truth and turning the heart away from all else but Allah. Maulana Ashraf Ali
Thanawi, wrote in his book Sufi Study of Hadith, Tasawwuf is a name for the development of the
inner and outer aspects of the individual, and there is not a single Quranic verse or hadith text which is
not in some way related to it (Name, page #). Famous Sufis such as Ali Hujwiri claims that the Sufism
started with Ali Ibn Abi Talib, who was the fourth Caliph and nephew of Prophet Muhammad, peace

Kabuki Greek Theatre
Kabuki is a form of theater that is rooted in challenging the deviance. Izumo no Okuni a female who
dressed like a man was the creator of the Kabuki art form. Kabuki arose during the later part of the
16th century and early part of the 17th century. What made the Kabuki Theater a direct challenge to
social and political norms was the storylines chosen, the audience to which it was preformed, and who
the performers were. Kabuki is an art form that serves as a representation of how theater can be used
to challenge authority, and how through such a confrontation can play a role revaluating norms in
society. Kabuki challenged notions of masculinity and femininity. Kabuki theater came to popularity
during the Edo period in Japan. During this period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Izumo no Okuni as previously mentioned created Kabuki. Much of Okuni s early life is unknown, but
what is known is that she was born in the late 16th century most likely in 1571. Also, it is known that
during Okuni childhood she learned the art form of performance dance. It is not known that at some
point she moved from preforming to Buddhist devotional dances to non religious dances. However,
the exact point in which she made the change is not known. If one knew what her reasoning for the
change was it would add another element into the process she went through to pursue non religious
dance. What lead Okuni to early success was the fact that she moved to Kyoto the capital of Japan
were music and dance was thriving. After her move to Kyoto is when one sees Kabuki begin to form.
Okuni made her start by making skits that made of individuals from all social economic statuses. She
also began incorporating eroticism in her performances during this time. This along with the choice to
not use mask was the beginning of Kabuki theater. What is important to note about these three
attributes is that they are what gave Kabuki it s name. Kabuki in English means to behave deviantly.
This name is fitting especially because Kabuki is a direct challenge to

Ophelia s Madness In Hamlet
The Madness in Hamlet
Much could be said about the role madness plays in William Shakespeare s Hamlet. We can see this
madness play out in two separate ways. The madness displayed by both Hamlet and Ophelia is driven
by the deaths of their fathers, but they each portray madness in different ways. Both character s
gender, in addition, helped to play a role in their descent into madness.
In writing Hamlet, William Shakespeare shapes a new language for madness and provides one
important site for its redefinition. The plays theatricalize and disseminate the complicated distinction
that the treatises theorize. In the drama, madness is diagnosed by those who observe it. (Neely, Carol
Thomas) The prose used for their mad speeches imply disorderly shape and contributes to its
colloquial character. Using this technique, Shakespeare represents distinctions between ... Show more

Her restlessness, agitation, shifts of direction, her winks and nods and gestures (1. 11) suggest the
spasms of the mother and show that madness is exhibited by the body as well as in speech; gesture and
speech, equally convulsive, blend together: Ophelia beats her heart, / Spurns enviously at straws (11. 5
6). The representation of Ophelia implicitly introduces conventions for reading madness as gender
inflected. Gender distinctions likewise begin to take shape in the contrasts between Hamlet and
Ophelia. Although Ophelia in her mad scenes can be seen to serve as a double for Hamlet during his
absence from Denmark and from the play, Hamlet s madness is in every way contrasted with hers, in
part, no doubt, to emphasize the difference between the feigned and actual madness. His discourse,
although witty, savage, and characterized by non sequiturs and bizarre references, almost never has the
quoted, fragmentary, ritualized quality of Ophelia s as we are instructed: Nor what he spake, though it
lacked form a little, / Was not like madness

The Most Important Aspects Of Radical Reconstruction And...
During reconstruction, some 2000 African American held public office, from the local level all the
way up to the US. Senate, though, they never achieved representation in government proportionate to
their numbers. The term Reconstruction Era or Radical Reconstruction in the context of the history of
the United States, has two senses: the first covers the complete history of the entire country from 1861
to 1877 following the Civil War (1861 1865); the second sense focuses on the attempted
transformation of the Southern United States from 1863 to 1877. Also, the period from the end of
World War II until the late 1960s is often referred as the Second Reconstruction. One of the most
important aspects of the Reconstruction 1861 1877 and second reconstruction 1945 1968, was the
active participation of African American community in the political, economic and social life of the
South.
According to history.com staff, 2010; The rise of African American leaders during the Reconstruction
in political life was a quest for autonomy and equal rights under the law, not only as individuals, but
also as black community as a whole.
After April 1865, took place an extensive mobilization within the Black community, with meetings,
parades and petitions calling for legal and political rights, including the all important right to vote .
During the first two years of Reconstruction, blacks organized Equal right leagues throughout the
South and held state and local conventions to

Wilhelm Wundt:
In the nineteenth century Wilhelm Maximillian Wundt was the founder of the newest science of the
time, which was psychology, he wanted to separate psychology from philosophy. Wundt did a lot of
contributions in making psychology to become a real science; another thing that made psychology
become a new science is the extensive propaganda for Experimental Psychology (Benjamin, 2014,
p.66). He established the first laboratory of experimental research in psychology laboratory in Berlin
at the University of Leipzig. He had a journal called Philosophical Studies and he wrote the first book

Ebbinghaus obtained a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Bonn. One of his biggest
attributions in psychology was the work he did in memory and retention. Ebbinghaus worked by
himself he had no money and he also had no subjects he worked by himself because he had no money
and had no subjects; he was the experimenter and the subject in his research (Benjamin, 2014, p.49).
He wanted to study associations but in a different way than previous research, he wanted to study
them as they were being formed. He did not used words that had a meaning, He tried and worked
really hard to eliminate all the biases in his research, he created nonsense for him not to have any
associations with the word, Example: AXD. The creation of the nonsense syllable was advancement in
research, especially in studying memory and associations (Benjamin, 2014, p.50). With all the work

Social Security Tax
Taxes are a necessary evil in any civilization. In order to keep the government running and pay for
goods and services, like police and a defense force, everyone must pay their fair share so that money
can be collected to foot the bill, so to speak. Social Security is one such service. The Social Security
program helps seniors to be able to live in retirement and also helps the less fortunate who need
government assistance for various reasons. While most citizens pay their fair share of the tax, there is
a bias in the system towards the very rich. This bias makes the Social Security tax not only a recessive
tax, but also one that unfairly burdens the less fortunate with the bulk of the costs. The tax ... Show

The higher a person s income above the taxation cap, the less of a percentage of their income they pay
into the system. It is thus possible for a person who makes $40,000 a year to pay a higher tax rate than
a person who makes $1,000,000 a year. Thus, Social Security must be considered a recessive tax.
Furthermore, one must take into account who in fact will be receiving the benefits of the Social
Security Program. It is logical to assume those who have better access to health care and the ability to
pay for health care costs will live longer than those who do not. Moreover, the nature of one s work
would also affect health through injuries and bodily strain through manual labor. The wealthier a
person is, the more likely they are to live a long life. It is fairly clear that the Social Security Tax
affects the poor far more than it does the rich. Even among those under the tax cap, the more money
one has, the more one can do to prolong their existence. The sad fact is that the lower an individual s
income, the more the tax becomes detrimental to their daily life and less likely they are to ever receive
the benefits of the program they have paid into.
The way the tax affects the poor does not seem fair. The way the tax affects a large chuck on the
middle class does not seem fair. In reality, the way the tax treats anyone making equal to or less than
$110,100 does not seem fair. Taxes affect

The Texas Rangers By Stephen F. Austin
In the early 1800s volunteers provided security services. They were mainly enrolled to watch over
large factories and other buildings. They also want to watch over local shops. They would alarm
people of fires and the occasional burglary. Around 1823, Stephen F. Austin created the Texas
Rangers. They say this was not the official beginning of the Rangers, because some people questioned
as to whether they were actually employed as Rangers. Originally they only had around ten men to
protect close to one thousand people. Instead, after the Mexican Revolution in 1835 is when they were
officially recognized them as an institution. They were an example of the security that the government
would provide to the new settlers.
In 1850 a Chicago Businessman named Allen Pinkerton created a private guard service. He was
originally contracted to protect available property, and ended up exposing the activities have a band of
counterfeiters. In 1861, he actually received national recognition when he was able to successfully
uncover a plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. During the Civil War, He helped organize the federal
Secret Service that helped the union. Pinkerton security is still around today, and is a leading provider
of risk management services for organizations around the world. With the formation of this agency,
other agencies were also formed and these included Wells Fargo Company, Brinks, Burns, and others.
These agencies were often employed to track down wanted persons.

TASK 1 OPTION 2 HISTORY
Which is more important in explaining the public support for Chartism: economic circumstances, or
the tradition of radical politics?
To explain the rise of the chartist political movement and the public support it received we need to
consider the two main contributing factors at the time. Historians like Asa Briggs, W.W. Rostow and
Gareth Steadman Jones take differing views on which was the most important explanation for the
dramatic rise in public support for the chartist movement. Briggs agreed with an economic based
reason and Steadman Jones agreed with the radical new policies that Chartism offered being the main
reason for the growth in support for the movement. This essay will explore these two views ... Show

The general feel of the working class was expressed in the chartist newspaper the morning chronicle
we require justice before charity . (Morning Chronicle may 3rd 1842). This was taken from a banner
in the crowd of supporters. The speaker in the extract reflects the sentiment of the banner and the
feeling of the crowd at the rally. This shows how political motivations were a major factor in the
growth of Chartism and how the chartists used public feeling to garner support.
In conclusion to explain the growth and mass support for Chartism and the rise of the political
movement which gripped the nation A mix of both economic problems combined with radical political
ideas left a nation wanting change the Chartists used the economic situation to tailor support for their
cause and increase the idea that political change would improve conditions for the working classes.
Chartism would not have had the same effect without a combination of these 2 factors.

Freire explains the importance of reading and how the moments in each stage of his life shaped how
he read and interpreted the world. Freire argues that the world that an individual is raised in affects the
words that they read therefore affecting their concept of the world. Freire flashes back to his childhood

Compared to Tingle who discusses the struggle of perceptual activity from a working class standpoint,
it is clear that Freire s perceptual activity is more in a middle class mindset. His childhood and
education was more of a success where Freire attended Eunice Varsconcello s private school. Freire s
perceptual activity was encouraged by his family who helped expand his world. Unlike Tingle who
was not encouraged to talk or challenge authority throughout his working class upbringing, Freire
states that Exercising my boy s curiosity did not distort it, nor did understanding cause me to scorn the
enchanting mystery of the world. In this I was aided rather than discouraged by my parents (7). Indeed
both Tingle and Freire bring forward their personal experiences in explaining the importance of
perceptual activity from upbringing, They both explain the concept of perceptual activity in two

The Experience of Becoming a Mother
In woman s life, becoming a mother is one of the most exciting and best moment in their life.
Knowing what happen in the growing baby in womb during the pregnancy time can make women
enjoy the exciting moment and help in reduce the nervous of giving birth. According to Trish (2004),
pregnancy is a special time and a healthy life event. During pregnancy time, women also go through
every emotional phase in her life time. A pregnancy woman s body also will undergoes some physical
change. The changes is important to assist for fetal development. There are three stages of pregnancy
which are the first trimester, second trimester and third trimester. (Refer to figure 1 in appendix 1) The
first trimester is the first stage of pregnancy. In this stage, zygote, embryo and fetus development
occur in the first three month. The first two weeks are not actually considered as pregnant. Pregnancy
will start about two weeks after the last period begins. In this stage, the germinal stage begins when
the sperm and the egg unite in woman fallopian tube to form a zygote which is one celled entity. The
formation of zygote occur with fertilization of the oocyte which is the egg and spermatozoon the
sperm combine and form a zygote which is the simplest form of new human and will begin to split and
divide into new cell that will become organized, specialized, and form shapers of new structure as it
become more complex. (Samuel, 2012).
This phase is called fertilization that occur in week three.

Ethical Complications of Genetic Engineering and Eugenics...
Genetic engineering is currently the fastest growing and perhaps most controversial field of science.
Genetic engineering is decoding and manipulating DNA to use for scientific and medical purposes.
The discovery that human cells can be grown in a petri dish has opened up breathtaking possibilities
for curing disease and a morass of ethical complications (Allen 9).
Genetic engineering has already started to be most helpful in the field of medicine. The map of the
human genome offers many cures and potentially successful medical procedures. By creating artificial
chromosomes, scientists may be able to replace diseased inherited traits with functional ones.

Charles Darwin published The Origin of Species in 1859. In this book, he explained his theory of
natural selection which is that members of species with the most desired ( best fit ) traits will survive
and reproduce. Eugenicists took Darwin s ideas of natural selection and applied them to society and
the human race. Some American and German scientists agreed the human race could be cleansed by
means of artificial selection and sterilization (Proctor 10 15).
In Germany, eugenics became focused on racial hygiene and was transformed into genocide. In the
beginning, Nazis targeted people with handicaps or mental illnesses, those who they felt had real,
medical justifications to be killed. In Grafeneck, Germany in 1940 approximately 10,000 mentally
handicapped people or people with mental diseases were killed with toxic gas in the course of the Nazi
euthanasia program (Wunder 1). After this they moved on to other groups that they believed tainted
their Aryan race. The Nazis fabricated scientific reasons for killing gypsies, Jews, blacks, and Jehovah
s witnesses along with the handicapped, saying that their brains were smaller and that they were
inferior.

Disadvantages Of Process Control
Process control plays a crucial role in the chemical engineering industry. The aim of process control is
to have a safe plant operation, to attain the design product output, to obtain quality standards from
maintaining the product composition and to operate at the lowest production cost (Sinnott, 2005). A
process control system is there to eliminate or implement corrective actions on any disturbance that
occurs during operation of a process. Achieving these actions is done through using control loops that
measure specific process variables, compare a desired output to these variables and control another
variable to correct any deviation in the set point of the system being investigated (Svrcek, Mahoney,

Improving Airport Security
How can airport security be more advance and safe around the world? Airport security attempts to
prevent any threats or potentially dangerous situations from arising or entering the country. If airport
security does succeed in this, then the chances of any dangerous situations, illegal items or threats
entering into aircraft, country or airport are greatly reduced. As such, airport security serves several
purposes: To protect the airport and country from any threatening events, to reassure the traveling
public that they are safe and to protect the country and their people. There are many ways to improve
airport security, but it will take a lot to do so. One way is hiring and training TSA different. The way

Beginning in December 1972, the Federal Aviation Administration required airlines to scan all
passengers with metal detectors in an attempt to stop hijackers from carrying concealed guns and other

passengers, TSA officers are empowered to perform pat down screenings and baggage searches for
any passenger that they feel requires additional screening. If the owners bag is locked TSA can cut or

airlines are still responsible for checking passenger information against government issued watch lists

Mr. M, a 54 year old man is taken to a sleep disorder facility for examination of daytime somnolence
and insomnia. He has been battling with anxiety and depression, a disorder he is being treated with.
He reports that he has been suffering from Insomnia for several years and only turned worse about 7
years ago. He is troubled with sleep initiation, which usually takes him over one hour to fall asleep. As
soon as he is asleep, he wakes up several times, which makes him to struggle again to go back to
sleep. He turns in bed without sleep until dawn when he gets up feeling fatigued and drained. The
major diagnosis is DSM 5 insomnia disorder. Given the comorbid indications of obstructive sleep
apnea and depression, it would perhaps be hard to assess whether Mr. M has DSM IV primary
insomnia since DSM 5 enables the clinician to generate an unpremeditated attribution between
obstructive sleep disorder and insomnia.

Methamphetamine as a Sleepless Dream or Addictive Nightmare
Methamphetamine has reclaimed a place in the lexicon of party drugs. Hailed by nocturnal
adventurers, condemned by raver idealists, is speed a sleepless dream or an addictive nightmare?
Here at the end of the millennium, the pace of modern life seems fleeting a whirl of minutes, hours
and days. In dealing with the changes, humans have equipped themselves with the tools to move
faster, more efficiently. At the same time a dependence for the marketing, high speed transportation
and pharmacology of this modern age has evolved. In a race to outdo ourselves, we have moved
dangerously toward the fine line between extinction and evolution. Therefore, the human ... Show

The hyperreality of today goes hand in hand with the drugs being administered.
It s 6 a.m. Around the speaker bins are small packs of animated dancers grinding their feet into the
floor and shaking their hands in front of them. The lookie loos and weekend warriors have long since
gone home. Absent from their faces are the smiles of midnight, replaced by the blank, vacant stare of
sleepless dreams.
They have a name in the rave community, they are tweakers. Tweaking, the common name for sniffing
lines of speed, the drug methamphetamine, (popular for its availability and price) has somehow
replaced MDMA and LSD as the perfect rave drug, allowing users the clear head and stamina to keep
dancing long after their bodies have gone to sleep.
A prominent opinion during the aftermath of the Los Angeles Summer of Love was that speed killed
the rave scene. Where speed had been seen in every scene from metal to the punk scene, for some
reason it was shocking for some to see methamphetamine take hold, even though MDMA (an
amphetamine like substance) had been circulating for years. Some likened the rise to the quash of
young newcomers, some equated it with the greed of drug dealers. Judging from today s roster of
events throughout the nation, raves are still alive and well. However, many old schoolers have been
turned off by the newbie vibe that came with speed s rise in popularity. Some were casualties
themselves of the drug s addictive nature. Others

The Ethics Of Cloning-To-Produce-Children
Human cloning would allow families or society to reproduce individuals of great genius, talent, or
beauty, where these traits are presumed to be based on the individuals desirable or superior genetic
makeups. For example, some admirers of great athletes, musicians, or mathematicians, believing that
the admired attributes are the result of a superior genetic endowment, might want to clone these
distinguished individuals. Just as the cloning of cattle is being promoted as a means of perpetuating
champion milk or meat producing cows, so cloning to produce children has been touted as a means of
perpetuating certain superior human exemplars.
It is not only a matter of prudence. Cloning to produce children would also be an injustice to the

The Time Machine, And The Machine Stops By. Forster
Projections that have been made about how today s society and culture will look in the coming years,
decades, and centuries, all have yet to be seen in how valid they are. If you look in any sort of media:
television, social media, or radio/music, you will see people giving their interpretations of what will
become of our world down the road. Yet, few people look to see how our the current state of culture
and society reflect the projections made by people in previous years, decades, and centuries. In
looking at the visions of the future presented by both novelas, The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, and
The Machine Stops by E.M. Forster, each story presents aspects of society that prominently appear
today. Written during the Industrial Revolution, a time where technology and human innovation was at
one of its highest points in recent history, both stories explore the possible effects of the machinery
that was becoming evermore present. Both authors present aspects such as omnipotent technology,
decaying human independence, and destruction of real communication, to create the artistic statement
that complacency is rising within the human race, and that complacency will eventually lead to the fall
of mankind. In both stories, the authors speak against human complacency and deference to
technology, warning that it will lead to the creation of weaker people and society that will ultimately
destroy the human race, yet that complacency is present in today s culture and due to the

Emotional Abuse Therapy Assignment Outline
Emotional Abuse Therapy Assignment Submitted to Dr. Robin Walsh for Principles of Counseling
PSY 4402 Submitted by Heather J. Winkler Troy University October 4, 2017 Abstract Emotional
abuse is the most common form of abuse and yet least talked about (Munro, 2011). Studies have
shown that regardless of country of residency, native language, gender, age, sexual orientation,
religious belief or economic status, emotional abuse is often seen as an acceptable form of
communication (Munro, 2011) and in many cases, normal. But as mental health professions, we know
this is not the case, and it often breaks our hearts to see another human being suffer especially when
we are unable to convince our clients to leave their abuser. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, with compassion for the victim and the enormous amount of guilt they struggle with,
emotional abuse can be stopped (Stosny, 2009). Theories A Counselor Should Understand Behavioral
Theory Humans are the producers and products of their environment... Learning can be used to change
behavior (Gladding, 2018). Counselors should understand that in regards to emotional abuse, the
behavioral theory can be used to explain the action of the event as well as the reinforcement that
occurs. For the abuser, this reinforcement comes as a positive one in where the action made them feel
better perhaps even powerful given that there wasn t any repercussions. For the victim, it was negative
because they began to internalize the actions of the abuser by believing that in some way shape or
form, they were ultimately responsible for the deplorable behavior exhibited by the abuser. Counselors
need to be active in the counseling session, take on the role of consultant, teacher, adviser, reinforce,
and facilitator (Gladding, 2018). Counselors

Baroque Era Research Paper
In the early Middle Ages, the human voice, God s creation within us, had been regarded in the sacred
realm as being the only instruments we needed. The church considered the use of instruments as
profane. There was no musical notation as songs were passed along from person to person by rote
memorization. In the secular world, instruments were used at times by jongleurs, trouveres, and
minnesingers. Some of those early instruments include the vielle, harp, psaltery, flute, shawm,
bagpipe, and drums (Thomas et al.). Those instruments were most likely used in an accompaniment
capacity, but since musical notation in the secular world was not really happening during this period,

The forces grew in size and became more widely used across many genres of music. Composers such
as Bach built large works that included many instruments to go along with vocalists. The Opera,
setting a play completely to music, emerged and used many instruments as accompaniment. A basso
continuo was the early rhythm section in the Baroque period which included a keyboard instrument
such as harpsichord, organ or clavichord and a bass instrument such as cello, violone, or bassoon.
Figured bass notation was written with interval numbers above a bass line to tell the keyboardist what
intervals to use to build the chords. Bach s Flute Sonata in C Major, BWV 1033 is an example of this
technique with one melodic line on the top staff with a single bass line with numbers underneath in the
second bass clef staff. Instrument making techniques also improved with technology during this
period which allowed instrument makers to streamline their processes and create instruments faster
and for less money. This made instrument buying even more affordable and proliferated the spread

1.1 WHY AN ORGANISATION NEEDS TO COLLECT AND RECORD HR DATA
The idea of this assignment is to talk about the importance of managing data in any business activity,
but specifically the one which is of most interest to us is related to HR practices: how to act when we
manage data, how to collect this information and how to store the documents.
One of the reasons why an organisation needs to collect and record HR data is to drive future business
decisions within a company. Everything is based on the data and directly affects the company s
strategy and the company s needs.
Another reason to collect and record data is to comply with legal requirements and legislation, for
example the principle of equality. If we have in our HR department adequate personnel records, we
can make sure we are complying with the law and therefore

Analysis Of The Planets By Gustav Theodore Holst
Gustav Theodore Holst was born on September 21st, 1874 and died on May 25th, 1934 he was an
English composer and teacher. He was best known for The Planets suite, this composition became
famous internationally after World War One. The Planets was composed from 1914 to 1916, it had
seven movements, each of the movements had the Astrological traits of the planets but had no
connections to mythology. The first movement of the suite is Mars Bringer of War which refers to the
God of War. This movement includes various instruments such as tubas, trumpets, trombones, horns,
timpani, flutes, clarinets, violins, cellos, and snare drums. The movement was characterized by five
beats and a minor scale which indicates the opposite of happy. There is no harmonic purpose in the
Bringer of War piece, I would classify it as an inhuman piece of work because war is horrific,
insensible at all costs. The music was suspenseful and tormenting since the beginning, it had a fast
tempo throughout the whole movement. Many dynamics were used all the way through, when the
movement was finishing up many rests kept showing as if war came to an end or was coming to an
end. Mars, Bringer of War gave me an utterly angry, threatening vibe, the combination of the rhythms,
the vibrato of the string instruments and the beats of the drum gave the whole movement a military
essence. Although I believe that the rhythm, in the beginning, was not the same in the end it somehow
slightly changed. Gustav creates

Schizophrenic Epidemiological Studies
Another compelling facet of schizophrenic etiological research is perinatal complications and
infections. Commonly researched obstetric complications and infections connected to schizophrenia

351). The findings of the prospective cohort study suggest that fetal hypoxia acts as an additive or
interactive factor that increases liability to schizophrenia (Cannon et al., 2010). Most studies have
found that schizophrenia is associated with multiple complication rather than specific, isolated causes
(Cannon et al., 2010; Khandaker et al., 2013). Hypoxia related OCs are related to the etiology of
schizophrenia, however, a complex studied completed by the Schizophrenic Bulletin note that these
factors are unlikely to cause schizophrenia on their own.
Relationships between influenza and schizophrenia were first researched based on influenza
epidemics. However, much of the data collected during that period was misdiagnosed and therefore
unable to be used in current studies with any degree of accuracy (Khandaker et al., 2013; Jenkins,
2013; Brown Derkits, 2013). A study noted by Brown Derkits (2013) demonstrated a threefold
increase in risk of schizophrenia following exposures to influenza during the first half of gestation,
however, had no elevated risk during the second half of gestation after influenza

The Family Tree Sparknotes
The Family Tree, by Carole Cadwalledr, is a novel that attempts to overcome the patriarchal control of
society by focusing on the matrilineal line of family history and genetics. The pervasive male bias in
literature leads readers to equate the experience of a good life with the experience of being male. This
misrepresentation of women s lives produce a partial and distorted understanding of culture and
society; which serves to obfuscate relations of power and reinforce the devaluation of women s roles
and contributions. Cadwalledr s feminine model of development, based on the experiences of women
within this novel, stands as a direct testimony of the rigid constrictions of the patriarchal society in
which they live. Women have long been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This model defines gender as social understandings of how males and females should behave within
society s specific constraints. The ideology of gender is a social construct that changes with the
societal views most vividly expressed through the opposing beliefs and values of Doreen and her

minister! Who ever would have thought it? Of course it s the children I feel sorry for. She also
expresses this strong belief against women working by commenting on the new female deputy head: It
s not right. Imagine taking food out of the mouths of children like that! They should have given it to a
breadwinner! Doreen exemplifies the typical housewife throughout this entire novel, clearly shown
through this quote: There was no shortage of house proud housewives in Beech Drive but my mother

Organic Food Saves Health
Organic food saves health?
Kip Pester, the author of the In Organic We Trust movie, suggests that people have to use organic
food, because it is healthier, and it has more nutrients. It is made in a natural environment, and organic
food is without pesticides. Organic food is healthier food; this gives a better health, and gives better
quality. Organic foods have more nutrients. His interview and film is effective in convincing people
that organic food is better for them. His film information is very good and helpful, but in contrast, he

Organic food is more expensive than regular food items. The farm machinery needed to harvest
organic food is more specialized, and therefore the food is more expensive. They use the best tools
and fertilization supplies. The farmers create natural environments. Organic food is grown without
pesticides. Nowadays, people are using organic food broadly. The author gives lot information about
organic food, and how it works. Regular food is made with lot of pesticides, and it is effect on
humans. Nowadays people have cancer, more pesticides effect on IQ. 73% people used organic food,
and that is good.
The farmers of organic food have to certify, or evaluate by government organization, USDA (United
States Department of Agriculture). Organic certification is a certification process of producing organic
food that must needed. The farmers can not use any chemical solution, such as pesticides, and

Christian Beliefs In Dorothy Sayers s The Mind Of The Maker
Dorothy Sayers was one of the most renown female British Christian writers of the twentieth century.
Her best works were in the field of crime and mysterious fiction, however the The Mind of the Maker,
a Christian theological novel that challenged the ideas of Christian beliefs, quickly grabbed the
attention of many in England. Published in the year of 1941, a time period of chaos and distraught
throughout Europe due to warfare that continued to dominate world affairs. Sayers laid the foundation
of great contemporaries in the Church of England were T. S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams
were acquainted. She portrays the doctrine of the Trinity by relating it to the process of writing fiction,
a concept that she could speak on with tremendous knowledge.
The Mind of the Maker sets forth an analogical study of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity,
comparing the various aspects of the Godhead to the human person. Sayers demonstrates this by
shedding a new perspective on a set of statements made in the Christian creeds. The word Creed is
derived from the Latin word credo, translating to the meaning of I believe . Moreover, The Creeds are
a summary of beliefs in Christianity. In the early years after the death of Christ, churches encountered
the problem of opposing views over matters of whether he was truly God, or if he had both a human or
divine nature. This notion was established not because the early Fathers were eager to finalize the
language of what they believed

Essay about The Divided Self Commentary
The Divided Self by R. D. Laing Commentary In The Divided Self , Laing examines schizoid and
schizophrenic people and attempts to make their situation more understandable in existential terms. In
order to understand Laing s work, a person must first understand the concept of existential
phenomenology, in which a person is characterized by his way of being in the world. It involves the
way he reacts to his environment and himself as a part of his world. It must also be mentioned that a
person can not interact with the world, without having relatedness to others in the world. Part One
Laing begins by stating that a schizoid is one that is divided into different parts, between himself and

The psychiatrist s personal opinions regarding the patient are not important, and so therefore it s best
that a professional manner when dealing with patients is taken. Looking at an example of one of
Kraepelin s patients who was showing signs of catatonic excitement, we come back to the picture of
the vase or two faces. Depending on which way this behaviour is viewed; it is possible to see that
either this was simply another sign of his disease, or that he wanted to confirm his own existence,
rather than being treated and tested as an object. It is impossible not to impose out own interpretations
of the patient s actions, no matter if one tries to be more objective, to see more signs of disease, or to
view his actions as a movement of muscles. Once the psychiatrist has developed a relationship with
the patient, it is impossible to be entirely neutral. The way the patient and his actions are interpreted is
a key component. Clinical psychiatry can be compared to the analysis of ancient documents, in the
sense that instead of formally analyzing the structure, style and other linguistic traits, the patient s
speech and behaviour is closely scrutinized. By knowing the patient s history, as with early
documents, it may be easier to understand the patient s position, and therefore allow the psychiatrist

The Abandoned Colony by Karen Ordahl Kupperman
Thesis: The Roanoke colony proved to be an unsuccessful venture in the New World for England,
since leaders of the expedition held the viewpoint that privateering would prove to be the most
profitable aspect of founding the new settlements in the West. However future, still unsuccessful
attempts to make a permanent colony at Roanoke, helped England understand how to build a
prosperous one; and it became a building block for establishing future colonies for England and
helped shape the ideas that would help launch their empire.

They had a strange relationship, since many of the colonists respected the Indian s way of life and
were amazed by how they lived. Many attributed their strength to the tobacco that they consumed.
Others saw them as savages and wanted to convert them to the European way of life. The colonists
ended up waging war with them and killed some Croatoans. White went back to England to request
supplies, and when he came back, the colony was abandoned, with evidence that they joined the
Croatoans. CRO was written on a tree, a sign that the colonists left to tell him where they had gone.
However, they were to carve a cross over the name if they were forced to vacate, but there was no
such mark. An entrance post also had the word Croatoan carved into it, also without any crosses. Big
items like weapons were left behind, but all smaller supplies were gone. The book uses Professor
David Quinn s theory to explain what happened. The bulk of the colony moved to the Chesapeake Bay
and lived in peace while the rest stayed behind to guard the heavier equipment. However, the Spanish
threat and Indian hostility forced them to leave. They were the ones who left the notes. Rumors
continued to spin when Indians told stories to the people of Jamestown in the Chesapeake Bay about
whites living with the Indians. Unfortunately, White, Ralegh, and everyone else searching for the
colony never found them. Even after hearing of why Roanoke failed,

Pros And Cons Of Alexander Hamilton Vs. Aaron Hamilton
In many U.S. history classes all over the country, the Alexander Hamilton Vs. Aaron Burr duel is
taught with little detail. Hamilton is a founding father, Burr is the Vice President, they challenge each
other to a duel and Hamilton dies. However there is much more to the story as Hamilton consciously
made the decision to throw away his shot and give Burr all of the power. This may not be the kind of
decision that most people would make in this situation, but for Hamilton it was necessary. Alexander
Hamilton had been through a great deal of hardships in his life. In the beginning his childhood was
dark and filled with death, he tainted his love life and career with an affair, he gave his son fatal
advice, and by speaking what he thought to be true he landed himself a spot in the duel against Burr.
Within all of these aspects, Hamilton found himself helpless and no matter what he tried, he could not
seem to fix the situation. Perhaps Hamilton decided to lay his fate in the hands of someone else for
once because he never truly felt in control. When it comes to Alexander Hamilton s early life, it is no
surprise that he spoke very little of his upbringings. Hamilton himself said, My birth is the subject of
the most humiliating criticism . This comment is in part due to the fact that his mother, Rachel, was
considered a prostitute for leaving her husband and becoming pregnant with an illegitimate child
Alexander. This seemed to have doomed Hamilton from the start. When he was

  • 5. Ophelia s Madness In Hamlet The Madness in Hamlet Much could be said about the role madness plays in William Shakespeare s Hamlet. We can see this madness play out in two separate ways. The madness displayed by both Hamlet and Ophelia is driven by the deaths of their fathers, but they each portray madness in different ways. Both character s gender, in addition, helped to play a role in their descent into madness. In writing Hamlet, William Shakespeare shapes a new language for madness and provides one important site for its redefinition. The plays theatricalize and disseminate the complicated distinction that the treatises theorize. In the drama, madness is diagnosed by those who observe it. • 8. Informal Research Paper Social Security Tax Taxes are a necessary evil in any civilization. In order to keep the government running and pay for goods and services, like police and a defense force, everyone must pay their fair share so that money can be collected to foot the bill, so to speak. Social Security is one such service. The Social Security program helps seniors to be able to live in retirement and also helps the less fortunate who need government assistance for various reasons. While most citizens pay their fair share of the tax, there is a bias in the system towards the very rich. This bias makes the Social Security tax not only a recessive tax, but also one that unfairly burdens the less fortunate with the bulk of the costs. The tax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The higher a person s income above the taxation cap, the less of a percentage of their income they pay into the system. It is thus possible for a person who makes $40,000 a year to pay a higher tax rate than a person who makes $1,000,000 a year. Thus, Social Security must be considered a recessive tax. Furthermore, one must take into account who in fact will be receiving the benefits of the Social Security Program. It is logical to assume those who have better access to health care and the ability to pay for health care costs will live longer than those who do not. Moreover, the nature of one s work would also affect health through injuries and bodily strain through manual labor. The wealthier a person is, the more likely they are to live a long life. It is fairly clear that the Social Security Tax affects the poor far more than it does the rich. Even among those under the tax cap, the more money one has, the more one can do to prolong their existence. The sad fact is that the lower an individual s income, the more the tax becomes detrimental to their daily life and less likely they are to ever receive the benefits of the program they have paid into. The way the tax affects the poor does not seem fair. The way the tax affects a large chuck on the middle class does not seem fair. In reality, the way the tax treats anyone making equal to or less than $110,100 does not seem fair. Taxes affect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Baroque Era Research Paper In the early Middle Ages, the human voice, God s creation within us, had been regarded in the sacred realm as being the only instruments we needed. The church considered the use of instruments as profane. There was no musical notation as songs were passed along from person to person by rote memorization. In the secular world, instruments were used at times by jongleurs, trouveres, and minnesingers. Some of those early instruments include the vielle, harp, psaltery, flute, shawm, bagpipe, and drums (Thomas et al.). Those instruments were most likely used in an accompaniment capacity, but since musical notation in the secular world was not really happening during this period, not a lot of concrete information is really known about instrumental ... Composers such as Bach built large works that included many instruments to go along with vocalists. The Opera, setting a play completely to music, emerged and used many instruments as accompaniment. A basso continuo was the early rhythm section in the Baroque period which included a keyboard instrument such as harpsichord, organ or clavichord and a bass instrument such as cello, violone, or bassoon. Figured bass notation was written with interval numbers above a bass line to tell the keyboardist what intervals to use to build the chords. Bach s Flute Sonata in C Major, BWV 1033 is an example of this technique with one melodic line on the top staff with a single bass line with numbers underneath in the second bass clef staff. Instrument making techniques also improved with technology during this period which allowed instrument makers to streamline their processes and create instruments faster and for less money. This made instrument buying even more affordable and proliferated the spread instruments around Europe (Westrup ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everything is based on the data and directly affects the company s strategy and the company s needs. • 31. Analysis Of The Planets By Gustav Theodore Holst Gustav Theodore Holst was born on September 21st, 1874 and died on May 25th, 1934 he was an English composer and teacher. He was best known for The Planets suite, this composition became famous internationally after World War One. The Planets was composed from 1914 to 1916, it had seven movements, each of the movements had the Astrological traits of the planets but had no connections to mythology. The first movement of the suite is Mars Bringer of War which refers to the God of War. This movement includes various instruments such as tubas, trumpets, trombones, horns, timpani, flutes, clarinets, violins, cellos, and snare drums. The movement was characterized by five beats and a minor scale which indicates the opposite of happy. There is no harmonic purpose in the Bringer of War piece, I would classify it as an inhuman piece of work because war is horrific, insensible at all costs. The music was suspenseful and tormenting since the beginning, it had a fast tempo throughout the whole movement. Many dynamics were used all the way through, when the movement was finishing up many rests kept showing as if war came to an end or was coming to an end. Mars, Bringer of War gave me an utterly angry, threatening vibe, the combination of the rhythms, the vibrato of the string instruments and the beats of the drum gave the whole movement a military essence. Although I believe that the rhythm, in the beginning, was not the same in the end it somehow slightly changed. Gustav creates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The findings of the prospective cohort study suggest that fetal hypoxia acts as an additive or interactive factor that increases liability to schizophrenia (Cannon et al., 2010). Most studies have found that schizophrenia is associated with multiple complication rather than specific, isolated causes (Cannon et al., 2010; Khandaker et al., 2013). Hypoxia related OCs are related to the etiology of schizophrenia, however, a complex studied completed by the Schizophrenic Bulletin note that these factors are unlikely to cause schizophrenia on their own. Relationships between influenza and schizophrenia were first researched based on influenza epidemics. However, much of the data collected during that period was misdiagnosed and therefore unable to be used in current studies with any degree of accuracy (Khandaker et al., 2013; Jenkins, 2013; Brown Derkits, 2013). A study noted by Brown Derkits (2013) demonstrated a threefold increase in risk of schizophrenia following exposures to influenza during the first half of gestation, however, had no elevated risk during the second half of gestation after influenza ... • 33. The Family Tree Sparknotes The Family Tree, by Carole Cadwalledr, is a novel that attempts to overcome the patriarchal control of society by focusing on the matrilineal line of family history and genetics. The pervasive male bias in literature leads readers to equate the experience of a good life with the experience of being male. This misrepresentation of women s lives produce a partial and distorted understanding of culture and society; which serves to obfuscate relations of power and reinforce the devaluation of women s roles and contributions. Cadwalledr s feminine model of development, based on the experiences of women within this novel, stands as a direct testimony of the rigid constrictions of the patriarchal society in which they live. The ideology of gender is a social construct that changes with the societal views most vividly expressed through the opposing beliefs and values of Doreen and her sister, Suzanne. As Doreen watches the first female prime minister get elected, she utters, A lady prime minister! Who ever would have thought it? Of course it s the children I feel sorry for. She also expresses this strong belief against women working by commenting on the new female deputy head: It s not right. Imagine taking food out of the mouths of children like that! They should have given it to a breadwinner! Doreen exemplifies the typical housewife throughout this entire novel, clearly shown through this quote: There was no shortage of house proud housewives in Beech Drive but my mother was, arguable, the proudest of them all. Her kitchen floor really was clean enough to eat your dinner off. As Rebecca reflects on a camping trip her family took as a child, she comments on the gender roles her family executes: It might have been a holiday, but the strict gender zoning laws of life still applied. Her best works were in the field of crime and mysterious fiction, however the The Mind of the Maker, a Christian theological novel that challenged the ideas of Christian beliefs, quickly grabbed the attention of many in England. Published in the year of 1941, a time period of chaos and distraught throughout Europe due to warfare that continued to dominate world affairs. Sayers laid the foundation of great contemporaries in the Church of England were T. S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams were acquainted. She portrays the doctrine of the Trinity by relating it to the process of writing fiction, a concept that she could speak on with tremendous knowledge. The Mind of the Maker sets forth an analogical study of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, comparing the various aspects of the Godhead to the human person. Sayers demonstrates this by shedding a new perspective on a set of statements made in the Christian creeds. The word Creed is derived from the Latin word credo, translating to the meaning of I believe . Moreover, The Creeds are a summary of beliefs in Christianity. In the early years after the death of Christ, churches encountered the problem of opposing views over matters of whether he was truly God, or if he had both a human or divine nature. • 37. Essay about The Divided Self Commentary The Divided Self by R. D. Laing Commentary In The Divided Self , Laing examines schizoid and schizophrenic people and attempts to make their situation more understandable in existential terms. In order to understand Laing s work, a person must first understand the concept of existential phenomenology, in which a person is characterized by his way of being in the world. It involves the way he reacts to his environment and himself as a part of his world. It must also be mentioned that a person can not interact with the world, without having relatedness to others in the world. Part One Laing begins by stating that a schizoid is one that is divided into different parts, between himself and his world, and within his own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The psychiatrist s personal opinions regarding the patient are not important, and so therefore it s best that a professional manner when dealing with patients is taken. Looking at an example of one of Kraepelin s patients who was showing signs of catatonic excitement, we come back to the picture of the vase or two faces. Depending on which way this behaviour is viewed; it is possible to see that either this was simply another sign of his disease, or that he wanted to confirm his own existence, rather than being treated and tested as an object. It is impossible not to impose out own interpretations of the patient s actions, no matter if one tries to be more objective, to see more signs of disease, or to view his actions as a movement of muscles. Once the psychiatrist has developed a relationship with the patient, it is impossible to be entirely neutral. The way the patient and his actions are interpreted is a key component. Clinical psychiatry can be compared to the analysis of ancient documents, in the sense that instead of formally analyzing the structure, style and other linguistic traits, the patient s speech and behaviour is closely scrutinized. By knowing the patient s history, as with early documents, it may be easier to understand the patient s position, and therefore allow the psychiatrist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Abandoned Colony by Karen Ordahl Kupperman Thesis: The Roanoke colony proved to be an unsuccessful venture in the New World for England, since leaders of the expedition held the viewpoint that privateering would prove to be the most profitable aspect of founding the new settlements in the West. However future, still unsuccessful attempts to make a permanent colony at Roanoke, helped England understand how to build a prosperous one; and it became a building block for establishing future colonies for England and helped shape the ideas that would help launch their empire. They had a strange relationship, since many of the colonists respected the Indian s way of life and were amazed by how they lived. Many attributed their strength to the tobacco that they consumed. Others saw them as savages and wanted to convert them to the European way of life. The colonists ended up waging war with them and killed some Croatoans. White went back to England to request supplies, and when he came back, the colony was abandoned, with evidence that they joined the Croatoans. CRO was written on a tree, a sign that the colonists left to tell him where they had gone. However, they were to carve a cross over the name if they were forced to vacate, but there was no such mark. An entrance post also had the word Croatoan carved into it, also without any crosses. Big items like weapons were left behind, but all smaller supplies were gone. The book uses Professor David Quinn s theory to explain what happened. The bulk of the colony moved to the Chesapeake Bay and lived in peace while the rest stayed behind to guard the heavier equipment. However, the Spanish threat and Indian hostility forced them to leave. They were the ones who left the notes. Rumors continued to spin when Indians told stories to the people of Jamestown in the Chesapeake Bay about whites living with the Indians. Unfortunately, White, Ralegh, and everyone else searching for the colony never found them. Even after hearing of why Roanoke failed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Pros And Cons Of Alexander Hamilton Vs. Aaron Hamilton In many U.S. history classes all over the country, the Alexander Hamilton Vs. Aaron Burr duel is taught with little detail. Hamilton is a founding father, Burr is the Vice President, they challenge each other to a duel and Hamilton dies. However there is much more to the story as Hamilton consciously made the decision to throw away his shot and give Burr all of the power. This may not be the kind of decision that most people would make in this situation, but for Hamilton it was necessary. Alexander Hamilton had been through a great deal of hardships in his life. In the beginning his childhood was dark and filled with death, he tainted his love life and career with an affair, he gave his son fatal advice, and by speaking what he thought to be true he landed himself a spot in the duel against Burr. Within all of these aspects, Hamilton found himself helpless and no matter what he tried, he could not seem to fix the situation. Perhaps Hamilton decided to lay his fate in the hands of someone else for once because he never truly felt in control. When it comes to Alexander Hamilton s early life, it is no surprise that he spoke very little of his upbringings. Hamilton himself said, My birth is the subject of the most humiliating criticism . This comment is in part due to the fact that his mother, Rachel, was considered a prostitute for leaving her husband and becoming pregnant with an illegitimate child Alexander. This seemed to have doomed Hamilton from the start. When he was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
