A Report On Telus Corporation
This first work term was done at Telus Corporation (also known as TELUS), one of the three major
telecommunications companies operating in Canada. The duration of the work term was spent
working in the Enterprise Architecture department as a Technology Architecture Assistant, and
working with the Wireless Development team as a temporary Software Tester. Working as a
Technology Architecture Assistant, main responsibilities included the managing of the content within
an internal department SharePoint site, aiding with the relaunching of a database synchronization
process, and the updating of charts report documents for the end of the first quarter. First, the co op
student was required to familiarize themselves with all the documents and lists present on the internal
department SharePoint site, and propose content which should be deleted or archived due to no longer
being relevant. By the end of the term, a means of identifying content to clean up was derived, and the
actual action of deletion and archiving was carried out. Secondly, the student was required to studying
a pre existing synchronization process that previously took place in Microsoft Access which
synchronized the contents of an external database with a list in SharePoint. Since the synchronization
process had stopped working prior to the arrival of the co op student, the student was required to find
a means to reproduce a working version of the process. The third major task, the updating of charts
and reports,

Bernice Bobs Her Hair Essay
amp;#8220;Bernice Bobs Her Hair ;
Have you ever at one time or another felt like an outsider? Many people do, trying desperately to fit in
with their social counterparts. Whether it be in school, at work, or life in general, many yearn to be
accepted by their peers and feel as though they are a part of some sort of amp;#8220;club ; that is
viewed by others as the amp;#8220;in ; crowed. F. Scott Fitzgerald tries to express this turmoil with
the short story amp;#8220;Bernice Bob amp;#8217;s Her Hair ;. He attempts to show the inner
workings of the popular youth and the means in which one can successfully enter it. By creating the
distinct characters of Marjorie, Bernice and Warren, one can see the ... Show more content on

It seemed Bernice had amp;#8220;stolen private property ; which allegedly belonged to Marjorie (1).
Sometime being popular will make one more territorial and suspicious of others which might hurt
them in the long run.
Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naïve and shy, thus
keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning of the
story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would like to
dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when asked to go
out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It seems that Bernice,
being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. In a group Bernice is more
likely to be stay inconspicuous and just listen rather that beginning or entering a conversation.
Another example of her shy persona was when Warren and Bernice sat down on the veranda. It was
apparent she was very nervous about the situation; her knees were pressed together so tightly one
could have cracked a nut between them. Bernice is also very naïve and Marjorie took full advantage of
that. Her innocence led her to believe that Marjorie could make all her dreams come true, question
nothing, and following all orders from her. This is apparent at the dinner table when she announced
that she was going to bob her hair in the near

Real Time Web and Viral Marketing
Alice DE VIRON
Manuela COREDA
Presentation on the 21st of October 2016
I. Introduction
In today s ever changing world, it s important for companies to react on the run to customers and to
adapt in order to be competitive in terms of marketing campaign. Thanks to the internet, brands can
collet incredible amounts of data concerning their customers. But also due to the development of new
technologies and the faster communication coming together, brands have to raise customer awareness
faster than their competitors. Therefore, brands have to constantly remain aware in order to be able to
react to events or competitors actions.
While traditional marketing is based on the planning of a specific strategy, real time web and viral
marketing are spontaneous. They are also closely intertwined as, as we will develop hereunder, real
time marketing is a key to go viral.
II. What is Real Time Web?
Real time web is the use of technologies in order to receive and share the information as soon as they
have been published. Therefore, real time marketing is the use of technologies by marketers to get
information from the customers but also to share information with them in real time.
Also called NewsJacking or Hijacking, real time marketing is defined as « the practice of brands
engaging their audience via content, advertising, and product placement

Forensic Anthropology Case Study
Your first lab link can be found at Case Files.
1.In the first case, what did forensic entomologists discover about the body using information from
flies? How did they determine this? The forensic entomologist estimated approximated that the
specimens associated with the body were in their fourth stage of development. It was said that the
victim had died about 28 days before her body was discovered from the flies. They concluded this by
calculating the development rate of the flies.
2.What is forensic palynology?
Forensic palynology is the science study of analyzing pollen and spores to help solve cases.

What did the forensic scientist find on the ladder in the third case? What was the importance of what
he found?
Forensic scientists examined the ladder parts Koehler noted their was a set of square holes in one rail
that did not match the ladder s construction. He also discovered damages left by tools including a hand
saw, a chisel, and a hand plane, and the distinctive marks of a machine planer with a flawed blade.
They could have accused an innocent person, but Hauptmann insisted he was innocent. He proclaimed
proudly that he was a carpenter and if he had made the ladder, it certainly wouldn t have broken.
Nonetheless, he was convicted and sentenced to death.

1.How did Goff become a forensic entomologist?
Goff was studying to become a marine biologist, and accepted a job in the newspaper for the wrong
job it was for an entomology job.
2.Why does Goff think it is important to obtain evidence before the body is moved?
Goff believes, If the body is moved before collections are made, you can lose significant evidence.
The insects will leave the body or move to a different part of the body. Some of the evidence is lost
and cannot be used to prove someone guilty or

Primordial-Up Hypothesis Research Paper
The primordial soup hypothesis is a hypothesis that was identified by a Russian chemist named Oparin
and an English genetics, Haldin in the year 1920. The hypothesis explains that life began in a pond or
an ocean from a combination of chemicals from the atmosphere. The two scientists thought that that
the basic building blocks of life came from a simple molecule that was formed in the atmosphere.
Evidence that they used to create this hypothesis was that they observed a molecule that was energized
by lightning and rain from the atmosphere that created organic soup. The reason why they had to
prove their assumption was because the amino acids had to become protein in order for different
gasses in the atmosphere to be contained then those used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the theory of direct panspermia. The claim is that the seed of life is everywhere and life existed all

What Is Remarque s View Of War In All Quiet On The Western...
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is a historical fiction that talks about
Remarque s experience in the Great War and how it dramatically changes his perspective of war as a
patriotic duty. In the novel, the protagonist, Paul Baumer and his comrades are vulnerable to physical
attacks at any given moment which installs fear amongst the group. With the death of many soldiers,
long lasting battle and terrible conditions of the Great War, Baumer and his comrades have become
disheartened. Primarily, one of the major characters that introduces the soldiers to the glory of war is
Kantorek. He teaches the young men of the great value in fighting for one s country and eventually

He was injured in his leg so the medics had no choice but to amputate it. It states, Kemmerich has lost
his foot. The leg is amputated. He looks ghastly, yellow and wan. (Remarque, 14). As a result of
World War I s technological deficiency many soldiers died from the incapability of finding fast and
sufficient cures. Kemmerich personifies many other soldiers whose life becomes worn out and drained
because of the war. It states, In his face there are already the strained lines that we know so well, we
have seen them hundreds of times. They are not so much lines as marks. Under the skin the life no
longer pulses, it has already pressed out the boundaries of the body. (Remarque, 14). Kemmerich s
death mainly affects Baumer because it is the first time he had seen a dear friend traumatized by the
effects of the war. He is concerned about Kemmerich but the nurses and orderlies don t seem to care
too much about the patients as they just want to clear Kemmerich s bed for another wounded soldier. It
states, Hospital orderlies go to and fro with bottles and pails. One of them comes up, casts a glance at
Kemmerich and goes away again. You can see he is waiting, apparently, he wants the bed. (Remarque,

The Influence of Cotton Mather Essay
The Influence of Cotton Mather The Salem witchcraft trials, a phrase not too often heard these days in
everyday conversation. Witches burning at the stake, or drowning in a tub of water, and perhaps the
most humane way of their execution, hanging. This piece of American history is a prudent example of
how everyday people can, and were, be lead astray from what would normally be considered
ridiculous and preposterous ideas, into something that warrants these horrible means of human
demise. What or more importantly who was responsible for this catastrophic loss of life? The Quaker
society of colonial America was where these events took place. The term Quaker refers to a member
of a religious sect called The Society of Friends, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His major publications were Wonders of the Invisible World in 1693, Magnalia Christi Americana in
1702, Bonifacius year 1710, Memorable Providences, Relating to Witchcrafts and Possessions in 1689
and several others. What type of man was Cotton Mather? What did he value? And how did his
writing reflect his beliefs? Let us first start by evaluating a writing related to the events described
above, The Wonders of the Invisible World. In this publication, Mather makes many references to
accounts of eyewitness testimonies and confessions of the accused; not only to justify, but also to
prove that the Salem witchtrials were a God sanctioned attack against Satanic works. Mather says, He
(the devil) has wanted incarnate legions to persecute us, as the people of God have in the other
hemisphere been persecuted: he (the devil) has therefore drawn upon his more spiritual ones to make
an attack upon us. (2) Mather s use of the term spiritual ones, is meant to represent the accused
witches of the time. Witches, Mather believes, are the work of the devil. Throughout this writing
Mather quotes from the Bible. Mather knows that the people of his church would not dare question the
validity of the Bible. So, by choosing specific verses that favor the intended goal of his writings he is
able to add rock solid validity to the statements he is making to the members of his church. References
to past situations illustrated in the Bible prove to Mathers audience that these

manager of the Scranton branch, the most successful one in the company. Michael did not attend

Percy Jackson Book Comparison
Have you ever read the Percy Jackson books and/or Carter Kane books? If not I think you should, they
are fantastic books as Percy and Carter are both very brave. A character trait that they both share is
being brave. The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus are by Rick Riordan as are The Red
Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow. Except The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus
stars Percy Jackson, and The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow stars Carter Kane. Percy
Jackson and Carter Kane both have to fight evil and save the world. My first reason, is that they both
have to fight evil. An example is, about Percy is, he had to fight an evil Titan, Kronos, and win.
Kronos was and is a Titan who once devoured his children that are gods this is another way that they
are alike. He had to choose between giving Luke the knife or not. He chose to give Luke the knife,
Luke then stabbed Kronos as Luke was in control of Kronos. Carter had to fight the god of evil, Set,
he was trying to turn the world to chaos and/or evil. Set had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One piece of evidence is, Percy had to return the lighting bolt to Zeus and succeed in which he did,
this where they are different and alike in a way. Carter had to return the golden scarab to Zeus. He had
to do that so gods don t start a war. If the gods had started a war the world would be a warzone with
only a few traces of human life form left behind. My second piece of evidence is Carter had to fight
Apophis this is a way Percy and Carter are alike, they both had to fight a higher up more powerful
being. I know I ve mentioned this before, but Carter has to defeat the god of chaos and/or send him
deep enough into the Duat so that Apophis can t come back to the surface of the earth. If/When

The Green Mile Death Quotes
The Green Mile is written about E Block, the place where prisoners who have been sentenced to the
death penalty go. This book shows many different situations where death is involved even if it isn t
necessarily the executions. Many of the deaths in the books can be related back to deaths and how
they affect people in real life. Death happens all the time, but throughout The Green Mile it is clear
that death is selfish, emotionally painful, and inevitable. All cases of murder are selfish. The Green
Mile makes an example of this from the very beginning when Arthur Flanders (The President) was
introduced. He had killed his father in order to get insurance money. Possibly the biggest example of
how murder is selfish is the Detterick twins and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Green Mile shows this when Percy steps on Mr. Jingles in front of Delacroix. Paul had noticed
how calm Delacroix had been despite his execution being one day away. Just when it seemed like
Delacroix was most excited about Mr. Jingles, Percy took his chance and stepped on Mr. Jingles while
he was retrieving the wooden spool. This proved to the reader that Percy couldn t care less about Del
even if it was his last day. Right after this happened, Delacroix screamed the mouses name repeatedly,
clearly hurt by Percy s actions. Situations in real life that cause emotional pain are hurricanes and
earthquakes. Many people lose sentimental items, houses and possessions, and even family and
friends. Many people never recover mentally or physically from these loses. This relates to Percy
stepping on Mr. Jingles in many ways. Percy is similar to the natural disaster because both are the
reason for others pain and both are unable to feel sympathy for those that are hurt. Delacroix is similar
to the victims and their families because both are distraught by events that are not within their control.
Throughout the book and real life there are many situations where death has brought pain to people

Alcohol Use Initiation Among Adolescents
Abstract
This literature review examines alcohol use initiation among adolescents through the constructs of
Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The review consists of 23 peer reviewed sources. TPB was
applicable to 18 sources, 4 did not fall within the constructs of TPB and 1 source was used solely to
understand the public health context of this behavior. Sources were located through PubMed,
Academic Search Complete, PsycINFO and Scopus databases. The following combination of search
terms were used: alcohol use initiation adolescent behavior and age of first drinking adolescent
influences. Findings from the literature were sorted and applied to constructs of the Theory of Planned
Behavior. A chapter from the book Health Behavior and Health Education: Theory, Research and
Practice (Montaño and Kasprzyk 2008) was also used in order to understand the TPB. TPB consists of
the following constructs: behavioral intention, evaluation of outcome, normative beliefs, motivation to
comply, control beliefs and perceived power (Montaño and Kasprzyk 2008). Conclusions found the
behavior of alcohol use initiation among adolescents can be applied to all constructs of the model, but
existing literature did not explore all constructs of TPB at an equal level of depth. Current literature
lacks depth in the constructs of behavioral intention, evaluation of outcome and control beliefs, while
a wide variety of literature focuses on the constructs of normative beliefs and motivation to comply.

Relationship Between Barbie Dolls And The Development...
Primary data will be used to answer the research questions guiding this research. The population,
sample and procedure will be covered in the following sections. Sample The population will be
gathered from all adolescent girls ages 5 15 in Lubbock, TX. Given that children develop a self
concept at the age of 6, 120 African American female children ages 6 8 will be invited to participate in
the study from North, South, East and West Lubbock. This is the equivalence to a child s first, second
and third grade level. Prior to any participant recruitment or data collection, all procedures will be
approved by the school district and written parental consent will be obtained for each participating
girl. Verbal consent will be obtained from each girl prior to each session where they will be told they
can leave at any time if they wish to do so. Sampling Technique Probability sampling was chosen to
generalize the results of the study to the population and investigate the relationships between Barbie
dolls and the development in racial identity and self concept. A qualified sample was utilized to
control who can participate in the study. The sampling method best suited to gather the participants is
stratified sampling to get an adequate representation of the population. The characteristics of the
segments included age, gender, ethnicity and zip code. In each year group, one third of the girls will

Comparing The Birthday Party The Moonstone, By Harold...
Compare how the relationship between genders is presented in any two texts studied this term
Harold Pinter and Wilkie Collins both appear to realistically demonstrate the relationship between
genders through the works of literature. Within their pieces, The Birthday Party The Moonstone, the
novelist and playwright are successfully able to mirror the way in which the interaction between the
sexes have developed over time, I feel especially from a woman s point of view. This essay introduces
the argument that these readings have been influenced in their production through the way society in
Britain has shaped the female and male gender relations. The thesis will be presenting the shift of the
interactions within creative writing, as a consequence of a changing hierarchy for the duration of
history ; focusing predominantly on the two periods which the play and novel are set around.
Upon gender being explored within The Birthday Party, a prime example to peruse are Meg the
landlady, and Stanley the lodger, as to interpret the correlation between sexes and the roles they both
are expected to enforce . Despite her being his senior ;as well as married, it is immediately evident
that there is a latent flirtatious undertone in which the two communicate with one another. This is clear
in Act 1 where Meg takes it upon herself to enter Stanley s room in the claims of wanting to wake him
up: I m coming to get you! (Pinter, 13). Due to being inappropriately intimate, it becomes

Children are innocent until we pollute their minds with the filth of society is what Dawe is saying.
Owen describes the sky as Littered with stars , ironically, as the stars are pure and not soiled with the
filth of mankind. Thus by saying the sky is littered with stars, he is taking the point of view of society
the fact that they would want to bring order and conformity to everything. These stars are scattered
across the sky in an unorderly fashion, and no one had got around to fixing [them] up yet . He is
highlighting that society takes beautiful, unadulterated natural things and pollutes them with their
rules and regulations. Moving from childhood to the middle ages in but a few lines, highlighting that it
s not worth mentioning the rest of his childhood, as it was all had too much of a resemblance to what
has already been said. There is a quick and noticeable change of tone as the man is described as a
money hungry , back stabbing and miserable , no longer the image of innocence as he was portrayed
in the first 4 stanzas. Not guarded by adolescence any more, he enters the real world and is instantly
polluted with the filth of society. He says goodbye to the stars their natural splendour no longer

Racial Profiling by Police is Not Justified Essay
Even the United States struggles with issues of racial discrimination despite being a society highly
based on immigrants and multicultural diversity. On one hand, people frown on treatment based on
race, whether that is on an individual or group level. On the other, people are tired and annoyed by the
seemingly constant call of discrimination. All of these feelings culminate into the debate pertaining to
the use of racial profiling. Likewise, there are some individuals that hold a certain level of acceptance
in regard to racial profiling. However, what is lost in the process because of that acceptance? There are
many components that need to be thought about in reference to the use of racial profiling. In addition,

In relation to the debate of racial profiling, Taylor and Whitney define racial profiling as the practice
of questioning blacks in disproportionate numbers in expectation that they are more likely than people
of other races to be criminals (Taylor Whitney, 2002). Statistics show that African Americans and
Hispanics commit more crime than Caucasians, with 90% of the 1.7 million interracial crimes
stemming from the hands of African American men. Even looking at these numbers, does that make it
okay for the police to arrest and interrogate these racial minorities at such a high frequency? Where
are these statistics coming from? How accurate are they? Does the media provide a skewed analysis of
these findings? These are the types of questions that need to be addressed in regard to evaluating the
validity of racial profiling.
The annual National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) has been the primary method for gathering
data and providing these staggering statistics. The NCVS provides information gathered from the
victim, which includes information on crimes that went unreported to the police. The Uniform Crime
Report (UCR) is also a valid reference for gathering crime information within the United States. The
UCR only has information regarding crimes that were reported to the police, as well as arrests. Both
forums are used by the FBI. In addition, researchers use this information for their research. Even

Uranium Mining Impacts
Uranium is most notably recognised for its radioactivity however, when compared with other
radioactive elements, Uranium has quite slow rate of decay (Pappas, 2015). U 235, an isotope of
Uranium, can be used in a fission bomb due to the fact that when its nucleus splits it releases
substantial amounts of energy. The most infamous example of how uranium has been used in this way
is the atomic uranium bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by the U.S in 1945 (Atomic
Heritage Foundation, n.d.). Furthermore, the same properties that allow uranium to be used in a bomb,
are valued in the world of nuclear energy. Nuclear power stations use energy from uranium to produce
electricity and this production accounts for approximately 11 percent of the ... Show more content on

Parts of the Finniss River have been contaminated as a result of acids draining into the system. Here,
acid mine drainage has leached as a by product of the Rum Jungle mine and has been toxic to the
aquatic ecosystem and its vegetation and fauna (ABC News, 2016). Furthermore, low level radiation
was detected in in the area which resulted in the popular Rum Jungle South Recreation Reserve being
shut down (Australian Broadcasting Corporation, 2014). Additionally, The Olympic Dam mining
centre located in South Australia is home to the largest known single uranium deposit in the world as
well as a metallurgical processing plant (Mining Technology, n.d.). Olympic Dam has a significant
impact on the South Australian environment, with a water consumption rate of more than 35 million
litres daily, from bore fields at southern end of the Great Artesian Basin. This figure makes it the
largest industrial consumer of underground water in the Southern Hemisphere (Australian Map of
Nuclear and Uranium Sites, 2013). The Great Artesian Basin supports a number springs, which in turn
support smaller wetlands and creeks. The water use at Olympic dam has negatively influenced the
health of these springs by reducing the flow of water through them and therefore the wildlife that rely

Essay on Current State of the Republican Party
It was a commonly held belief among the Republican party that Mitt Romney was almost a guaranteed
win in the 2012 presidential election. This view wasn t necessarily because Romney followed
Republican policy to a T but rather because of Obama s disastrous job with the economy in the
previous four years. History was well in the minds of most Republicans in that particular matter since
no president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt had ever won a presidency after the economy had gone
as low as it did and was in a serious struggle to rebound. With this piece of history in the minds of
most Republicans the assumptions was history would continue to repeat itself even if Romeny wasn t

The first such way is in social issues. The traditionally narrow minded view on most social issues has
almost all but gone away and the open mindedness of the american people is more apparent. One of
these issues is gay marriage and the acceptance it has been met by. We see this with certain states that
have already legalized it and in more and more states contemplating proposing gay marriage and
placing it on the ballot. According to a ABC News poll, conservative support for gay marriage has
gone from 10 percent support in 2004 to 19 percent in 2006 and 30 percent currently (Abramowitz).
Another important issue is abortions and the womens right to choose. This has always been an issues
of friction in america but abortion has become more open and a more commonly used option among
women. For women who do not necessarily agree with the practice of abortion they still share the idea
that women should have the right to choose and make decisions that are inherently theirs because it is
their body. Womens rights have always been a debated subject in american and it has only expanded
over the years. Telling women they have no say in their body and their future in the way of having
children is taking a drastic step backwards from the forward moving expansion of rights. Republicans
failed to budge on their view on womens right to choose while the Democrats made it clear they
supported the right to choose. According to exit polls 53 percent of the voters in the 2012 elections

The Pros And Cons Of Federalism, Unitary And Confederal...
Bhaumik Mehta
POS 2041: American National Government
Fall 2017
Instructor: Douglas Rivero
Analyze the pros and cons of federalism, unitary and confederal systems. Explain to me whether you
believe that we should keep our federal system or whether we should abandon it in favor of a different
one.
Before discussing the pros and cons of different governmental systems, let s know about the federal,
unitary, and confederal systems? There are three systems of government exist today: federal, unitary,
and confederal. Federal system is a medium centralized, Unitary system is highly centralized, and
confederal system has a low level centralization. Furthermore, federal system believes in the strong
national government which shares power with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biggest advantage of federal system is check and balances a political system where each branch of
government have authority to keep checks on other branches and to influence the decisions of other
branches; the political power is not concentrated in the hands of individuals or groups. Now, let s see
the cons of the federal system. Cons of the federal system are: prevention of the creation of a national
policy, lack of accountability, and potential for corruption. Federalism also causes confusion between
the local governments and the national government as well. (Federalism Pros and Cons List, 2015) For
an example, the United State doesn t have a single policy on issues, which often leads to the
confusion. Also, power of authority can create a possible atmosphere for corruption at local and
national level. For an example, if majority of the congress wants to pass a law on something and local
states do not agree on it, then the local government can agree on the law to get something in return in
form of money or favors!
Second, advantages of unitary system are simplicity, less corruption, simplified economic policies,
and high level of national pride. Unitary government is simple. Fewer people are involved in the
decision making process so that decisions are made faster and more efficiently. (apecsecadmin, 2015)
In a unitary system, only few self motivated people have direct access to the decision makers,

Descriptive Essay On Ttto Bene
The smooth, heart felt voice of Jersey Boy Frank Sinatra floods my ears as I enter Mario s Tutto Bene.
The dim, lit dining room with hanging Tiffany Lamps and era style tables from the 1940 s takes you
back into an era of glamor and organized crime. The half moon Italian leather booths that surround the
outmost of the dinner room are soft and comfortable. The authentic Italian foods such as: Penne
Vodka, Chicken Saltimbocca, Shrimp Scampi and Veal Parmigiana engulf your sense of smell and
make your mouth water. The rich Red and White wines that are imported directly from Italy sing a
symphony across your taste buds. This is New Jersey dining at its best.
Mario s Tutto Bene is the very image of Italian beauty, comfort and cuisine. The walls are painted a
dark wine color with deep brown woodwork adorning the walls and doorways. The long dark brown
bar that stretches out before you is sculpted by hand and polished to a high gloss, reflecting your very
image off of it, like a mirror. There is a sleek, shiny, black Piano in perfect opposition of the bar, set up
on a small stage, enclosed by wood banisters that stand guard on either side of the stairs polished in
the same deep hue of the bar. The half moon Italian leather booths surround the outermost area of the
dining hall, leaving room for tables, large enough to accommodate 8 10 people in the middle.

Escape From Alcatraz Research Paper
Escape from Alcatraz
` On that night of June 1962 the Anglin brothers Clarence and John and, Frank Morris. It s pretty
obvious that that the famous Alcatraz escapees survived. There may be some persuasive arguments
against that but, by looking through the evidence it seemed the fact that they survived out weighed the
fact they died. The prison they may have escaped from is a lone island on the San Francisco bay.
Surrounded by the freezing cold water chances of a swim escape was very slim the 50 degree water
would kill in half an hour. The current would pull them out to the ocean where they would eventually
drown. Inside Alcatraz is a high security prison for the worst of the worst. With tool proof cell bars
prisoners would spend years trying to cut through the bars. Along with that the guards had machine
guns and had continuous prisoner checks knowing if and when the prisoners tried ... Show more

Statistically that doesn t just happen randomly that night. Many men who had tried to swim downed
many people say. But did those men have a boat? Frank morris was an armed bank robber and was
extremely familiar on how to escape according to the scholastic scope. Many claim that the sharks ate
them because their are supposedly sharks in san francisco bay. There happen to be sharks in the san
francisco bay. Now those of you who live in san francisco don t jump out of your pants they re only
little bottom feeder sharks they only are about as big as your fingers. It would seem that there be a
chance the could have died but that is very unlikely based on the evidence I have found. They are most
likely down in south america right now drinking out of coconuts while the FBI says their dead. So that

Did you know who influenced modern english? No? Well it is Geoffrey Chaucer, who also made quite
a few notable books. So we start the story of Geoffrey Chaucer who was born in London somewhere
in 1343. He was born in a middle class family who were financially secure or almost elite (Money
wise). Their parents were wine vendors.
At age 17, Chaucer was a public worker. He attended St.Paul s Cathedral School where he first met
influential writing. He was also a moneyer (someone who mints) and was a public service worker. His
public service time was very well documented, between his time being the noblewoman s page to a
diplomat. His work life also has over 500 documents testifying to his career. He was also a courtier,

his later life, he once again joined the army for a shorter time though this time. During this stage in his

The Transformation Of Macbeth s Character
As Innocent flower, (Shakespeare 25) Macbeth begins to change drastically, developing a completely
new identity, his transformation is quite obvious as he goes from innocent to the serpent under [the

caught going against his moral beliefs as he represses all emotions that are caused by his actions in
killing; consequently, the guilt that is accumulated inside of him begins to take over, caused by the
initial push which began his redevelopment. Simply stated, Macbeth s obsession in gaining power
acted as a push causing his psychological state to spiral downhill. Macbeth s mind whose murder yet

thought of not having courage is lodged into Macbeth s head as he becomes aware that he is Letting I

to kill Duncan but is abruptly stopped as Banquo is unable to fall asleep due to his thoughts of the

Caribbean Double Bass Guitar Analysis
The double bass, to a non musician, can just look like a giant guitar, but in reality it is less like a guitar
and more like a giant violin. The double bass is the biggest of the violin family but emanates a lower
pitch than most of the other family members. The solo Pirates Of The Caribbean Double Bass Solo is
an awesome example of how this instrument can tell a story just with its notes. This melody is not an
easy one to remember, it can be very complex since it has so many different notes to achieve in such a
close amount of time. The double bass is not a simple instrument to play especially because of its low
pitch and its volume. The tone of the instrument does not let the musician play very high notes
because this instrument is made with low range. I can only hear one clear theme in this work and that
is what makes it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But with time there are consonant harmonies in this work because the dissonance finally meets stage
where the notes fall back into a pleasant sound and no longer makes us humans tensioned. The rhythm
to this piece is very important because through the rhythm is where the artist portrays the journey of
the pirates and takes you to another world while listening to it, it takes you to the actual movie! When
I listen to this piece my emotions are adventurous. Listening to this piece makes me want to be the
pirate Jack and go find some gold and kill some sailors. The whole piece itself I would describe it as a
color blue, blue for its adventurousness and bravery. the texture can be thin just because of the reason
the double bass does not create a thick texture but this does not take away from the piece. The piece is
perfectly fine played with the double bass. In fact, with any other instrument it wouldn t have captured
the musicians true purpose of adventurouness and bravery in the way it

National Incident Management System Summary
The National Incident Management System (NIMS) was put in to place to be a proactive approach to
manage incidents involving threats and hazards. It was designed for all levels of government,
nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector to work together to reduce the loss of life,
property, and harm to the environment (National Incident Management System, 2016). A fundamental
part of managing threats and hazards is to set up an Incident Command System (ICS). An ICS
provides consistency and standardization for dealing with a threat or hazard such as a weapon of mass
destruction incident. Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) can be biological, chemical, radiological,
or a mass explosion. First responders to the attack are tasked with patient assessment, and they are
usually the first ones to determine what type of an attack it is. If the attack is determined to be
biological, chemical, radiological; then an ICS is set up and takes over control. The incident command
will be the ultimate decision maker for the control of the incident. The ICS has an Incident
Commander and their staff will make operational decisions and allocate resources to implement these
decisions. The ICS is the framework necessary to manage the resources, personnel, apparatus, and
equipment, used to mitigate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As direct competition, Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion contains key ingredients such as emollients and
humectants to prevent moisture loss from the skin (Galderma Laboratories 2013). Other, more indirect
competition includes products such as Dove s Deep Moisture Body wash that boasts a
NutriumMoisture formula as a two in one moisturiser and body wash. 2.4 Positioning Against
Competition The Daily Moisturising Lotion is positioned as a tonic for sensitive skin, through the
references to the use of colloidal oatmeal as the ingredient based point of difference (Johnson amp;
Johnson, 2014). The competition, Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion, is similar in that it claims to be a
strong, gentle moisturiser for dry skin, with a corresponding ingredient based point of difference
(Galderma Laboratories 2013). This ingredient based point of difference, however, isn t promoted to
the same degree, as seen in commercials (TV Commercial Spot Cetaphil The Genty Power Gentle
Skincare Products 2014). Though the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion and Olay s Complete Defense
Daily UV Moisturising Lotion SPF30 share points of parity such as their daily use positioning, the
specification of the Olay lotion s SPF relegates the Aveeno to a somewhat all round lotion. It is,
however, the ingredients that take centre stage in the positioning of Aveeno s Daily Moisturising

Aristole s View on Drama
Preamble
Drama is an aspect of literature represented in performances and has been a part of the world for many
decades. Drama originated in classical Greece around the fifth century B.C. The earliest performances
took place in amphitheaters, which the Greeks invented to incorporate plays in their religious and
civic festivals. These Greek festivals were huge theatrical events filled with three days of drama. The
structure of the amphitheater allowed for an audience of thousands to observe the theatrics and watch
as the actors vie to win the drama competition. In addition, ancient Greek theater used dramas to relay
moral and political messages to their communities.
There are two different categories of drama: comedy and tragedy. Greek ... Show more content on

Shakespeare is said to have shaped the beginnings of modern day culture through his tragic plays by
introducing man as the tragic hero rather than the Gods. Although both Miller and Shakespeare have
modified the classic Greek tragedies in this manner they still fulfill Aristotle s definition of tragedy in
many ways.
Aristotle Vs Othello and Death of a Salesman Shakespeare s protagonist, Othello and Miller s
protagonist, Willy Lowman are both considered the tragic heroes in the play. Othello is a moor and a
general in Venetian army. He is experienced in battle and valued by the people. Since he is this well
respected military leader, the people listened and cared about what he had to say. One instance of his
high regard can be seen when one of the senators said, Here comes Barbantio and the valiant Moor ,
(Act I scene 3). With Othello overcoming racist Venice and managing to gain this high status in the
community, Aristotle s first requirement for a tragic hero is fulfilled. However, many would argue that
in Millers play, Willy Lowman s character stretches the definition of a tragic hero. Since Willy
Lowman was a mere salesman struggling to seize the American dream he would definitely not be
considered a man of high status. Although Willy Lowman did hold one honorable position and that
was head of the household. This is illustrated during a conversation that Willy s wife Linda has with
their son Biff. Linda Says No. You can t

  • 2. A Report On Telus Corporation This first work term was done at Telus Corporation (also known as TELUS), one of the three major telecommunications companies operating in Canada. The duration of the work term was spent working in the Enterprise Architecture department as a Technology Architecture Assistant, and working with the Wireless Development team as a temporary Software Tester. Working as a Technology Architecture Assistant, main responsibilities included the managing of the content within an internal department SharePoint site, aiding with the relaunching of a database synchronization process, and the updating of charts report documents for the end of the first quarter. First, the co op student was required to familiarize themselves with all the documents and lists present on the internal department SharePoint site, and propose content which should be deleted or archived due to no longer being relevant. By the end of the term, a means of identifying content to clean up was derived, and the actual action of deletion and archiving was carried out. Secondly, the student was required to studying a pre existing synchronization process that previously took place in Microsoft Access which synchronized the contents of an external database with a list in SharePoint. Since the synchronization process had stopped working prior to the arrival of the co op student, the student was required to find a means to reproduce a working version of the process. The third major task, the updating of charts and reports, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Bernice Bobs Her Hair Essay amp;#8220;Bernice Bobs Her Hair ; Have you ever at one time or another felt like an outsider? Many people do, trying desperately to fit in with their social counterparts. Whether it be in school, at work, or life in general, many yearn to be accepted by their peers and feel as though they are a part of some sort of amp;#8220;club ; that is viewed by others as the amp;#8220;in ; crowed. F. Scott Fitzgerald tries to express this turmoil with the short story amp;#8220;Bernice Bob amp;#8217;s Her Hair ;. He attempts to show the inner workings of the popular youth and the means in which one can successfully enter it. By creating the distinct characters of Marjorie, Bernice and Warren, one can see the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seemed Bernice had amp;#8220;stolen private property ; which allegedly belonged to Marjorie (1). Sometime being popular will make one more territorial and suspicious of others which might hurt them in the long run. Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naïve and shy, thus keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning of the story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would like to dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when asked to go out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It seems that Bernice, being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. In a group Bernice is more likely to be stay inconspicuous and just listen rather that beginning or entering a conversation. Another example of her shy persona was when Warren and Bernice sat down on the veranda. It was apparent she was very nervous about the situation; her knees were pressed together so tightly one could have cracked a nut between them. Bernice is also very naïve and Marjorie took full advantage of that. Her innocence led her to believe that Marjorie could make all her dreams come true, question nothing, and following all orders from her. This is apparent at the dinner table when she announced that she was going to bob her hair in the near ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The hypothesis explains that life began in a pond or an ocean from a combination of chemicals from the atmosphere. The two scientists thought that that the basic building blocks of life came from a simple molecule that was formed in the atmosphere. Evidence that they used to create this hypothesis was that they observed a molecule that was energized by lightning and rain from the atmosphere that created organic soup. The reason why they had to prove their assumption was because the amino acids had to become protein in order for different gasses in the atmosphere to be contained then those used ... All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is a historical fiction that talks about Remarque s experience in the Great War and how it dramatically changes his perspective of war as a patriotic duty. In the novel, the protagonist, Paul Baumer and his comrades are vulnerable to physical attacks at any given moment which installs fear amongst the group. With the death of many soldiers, long lasting battle and terrible conditions of the Great War, Baumer and his comrades have become disheartened. He was injured in his leg so the medics had no choice but to amputate it. It states, Kemmerich has lost his foot. The leg is amputated. He looks ghastly, yellow and wan. (Remarque, 14). As a result of World War I s technological deficiency many soldiers died from the incapability of finding fast and sufficient cures. Kemmerich personifies many other soldiers whose life becomes worn out and drained because of the war. It states, In his face there are already the strained lines that we know so well, we have seen them hundreds of times. They are not so much lines as marks. Under the skin the life no longer pulses, it has already pressed out the boundaries of the body. (Remarque, 14). Kemmerich s death mainly affects Baumer because it is the first time he had seen a dear friend traumatized by the effects of the war. He is concerned about Kemmerich but the nurses and orderlies don t seem to care too much about the patients as they just want to clear Kemmerich s bed for another wounded soldier. It states, Hospital orderlies go to and fro with bottles and pails. One of them comes up, casts a glance at Kemmerich and goes away again. You can see he is waiting, apparently, he wants the bed. • 9. The Influence of Cotton Mather Essay The Influence of Cotton Mather The Salem witchcraft trials, a phrase not too often heard these days in everyday conversation. Witches burning at the stake, or drowning in a tub of water, and perhaps the most humane way of their execution, hanging. This piece of American history is a prudent example of how everyday people can, and were, be lead astray from what would normally be considered ridiculous and preposterous ideas, into something that warrants these horrible means of human demise. What or more importantly who was responsible for this catastrophic loss of life? The Quaker society of colonial America was where these events took place. The term Quaker refers to a member of a religious sect called The Society of Friends, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His major publications were Wonders of the Invisible World in 1693, Magnalia Christi Americana in 1702, Bonifacius year 1710, Memorable Providences, Relating to Witchcrafts and Possessions in 1689 and several others. What type of man was Cotton Mather? What did he value? And how did his writing reflect his beliefs? Let us first start by evaluating a writing related to the events described above, The Wonders of the Invisible World. In this publication, Mather makes many references to accounts of eyewitness testimonies and confessions of the accused; not only to justify, but also to prove that the Salem witchtrials were a God sanctioned attack against Satanic works. Mather says, He (the devil) has wanted incarnate legions to persecute us, as the people of God have in the other hemisphere been persecuted: he (the devil) has therefore drawn upon his more spiritual ones to make an attack upon us. (2) Mather s use of the term spiritual ones, is meant to represent the accused witches of the time. Witches, Mather believes, are the work of the devil. Throughout this writing Mather quotes from the Bible. Mather knows that the people of his church would not dare question the validity of the Bible. So, by choosing specific verses that favor the intended goal of his writings he is able to add rock solid validity to the statements he is making to the members of his church. References to past situations illustrated in the Bible prove to Mathers audience that these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Percy Jackson Book Comparison Have you ever read the Percy Jackson books and/or Carter Kane books? If not I think you should, they are fantastic books as Percy and Carter are both very brave. A character trait that they both share is being brave. The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus are by Rick Riordan as are The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow. Except The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus stars Percy Jackson, and The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow stars Carter Kane. Percy Jackson and Carter Kane both have to fight evil and save the world. My first reason, is that they both have to fight evil. An example is, about Percy is, he had to fight an evil Titan, Kronos, and win. Kronos was and is a Titan who once devoured his children that are gods this is another way that they are alike. He had to choose between giving Luke the knife or not. He chose to give Luke the knife, Luke then stabbed Kronos as Luke was in control of Kronos. Carter had to fight the god of evil, Set, he was trying to turn the world to chaos and/or evil. Set had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One piece of evidence is, Percy had to return the lighting bolt to Zeus and succeed in which he did, this where they are different and alike in a way. Carter had to return the golden scarab to Zeus. He had to do that so gods don t start a war. If the gods had started a war the world would be a warzone with only a few traces of human life form left behind. My second piece of evidence is Carter had to fight Apophis this is a way Percy and Carter are alike, they both had to fight a higher up more powerful being. I know I ve mentioned this before, but Carter has to defeat the god of chaos and/or send him deep enough into the Duat so that Apophis can t come back to the surface of the earth. This book shows many different situations where death is involved even if it isn t necessarily the executions. Many of the deaths in the books can be related back to deaths and how they affect people in real life. Death happens all the time, but throughout The Green Mile it is clear that death is selfish, emotionally painful, and inevitable. All cases of murder are selfish. The Green Mile makes an example of this from the very beginning when Arthur Flanders (The President) was introduced. He had killed his father in order to get insurance money. Possibly the biggest example of how murder is selfish is the Detterick twins and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Green Mile shows this when Percy steps on Mr. Jingles in front of Delacroix. Paul had noticed how calm Delacroix had been despite his execution being one day away. Just when it seemed like Delacroix was most excited about Mr. Jingles, Percy took his chance and stepped on Mr. Jingles while he was retrieving the wooden spool. This proved to the reader that Percy couldn t care less about Del even if it was his last day. Right after this happened, Delacroix screamed the mouses name repeatedly, clearly hurt by Percy s actions. Situations in real life that cause emotional pain are hurricanes and earthquakes. Many people lose sentimental items, houses and possessions, and even family and friends. Many people never recover mentally or physically from these loses. This relates to Percy stepping on Mr. Jingles in many ways. Percy is similar to the natural disaster because both are the reason for others pain and both are unable to feel sympathy for those that are hurt. Delacroix is similar to the victims and their families because both are distraught by events that are not within their control. • 14. Alcohol Use Initiation Among Adolescents Abstract This literature review examines alcohol use initiation among adolescents through the constructs of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The review consists of 23 peer reviewed sources. TPB was applicable to 18 sources, 4 did not fall within the constructs of TPB and 1 source was used solely to understand the public health context of this behavior. Sources were located through PubMed, Academic Search Complete, PsycINFO and Scopus databases. The following combination of search terms were used: alcohol use initiation adolescent behavior and age of first drinking adolescent influences. Findings from the literature were sorted and applied to constructs of the Theory of Planned Behavior. A chapter from the book Health Behavior and Health Education: Theory, Research and Practice (Montaño and Kasprzyk 2008) was also used in order to understand the TPB. TPB consists of the following constructs: behavioral intention, evaluation of outcome, normative beliefs, motivation to comply, control beliefs and perceived power (Montaño and Kasprzyk 2008). Conclusions found the behavior of alcohol use initiation among adolescents can be applied to all constructs of the model, but existing literature did not explore all constructs of TPB at an equal level of depth. Current literature lacks depth in the constructs of behavioral intention, evaluation of outcome and control beliefs, while a wide variety of literature focuses on the constructs of normative beliefs and motivation to comply. ... Sampling Technique Probability sampling was chosen to generalize the results of the study to the population and investigate the relationships between Barbie dolls and the development in racial identity and self concept. A qualified sample was utilized to control who can participate in the study. The sampling method best suited to gather the participants is stratified sampling to get an adequate representation of the population. The characteristics of the segments included age, gender, ethnicity and zip code. Compare how the relationship between genders is presented in any two texts studied this term Harold Pinter and Wilkie Collins both appear to realistically demonstrate the relationship between genders through the works of literature. Within their pieces, The Birthday Party The Moonstone, the novelist and playwright are successfully able to mirror the way in which the interaction between the sexes have developed over time, I feel especially from a woman s point of view. This essay introduces the argument that these readings have been influenced in their production through the way society in Britain has shaped the female and male gender relations. The thesis will be presenting the shift of the interactions within creative writing, as a consequence of a changing hierarchy for the duration of history ; focusing predominantly on the two periods which the play and novel are set around. Upon gender being explored within The Birthday Party, a prime example to peruse are Meg the landlady, and Stanley the lodger, as to interpret the correlation between sexes and the roles they both are expected to enforce . Despite her being his senior ;as well as married, it is immediately evident that there is a latent flirtatious undertone in which the two communicate with one another. This is clear in Act 1 where Meg takes it upon herself to enter Stanley s room in the claims of wanting to wake him up: I m coming to get you! (Pinter, 13). Racial Profiling by Police is Not Justified Essay Even the United States struggles with issues of racial discrimination despite being a society highly based on immigrants and multicultural diversity. On one hand, people frown on treatment based on race, whether that is on an individual or group level. On the other, people are tired and annoyed by the seemingly constant call of discrimination. All of these feelings culminate into the debate pertaining to the use of racial profiling. Likewise, there are some individuals that hold a certain level of acceptance in regard to racial profiling. However, what is lost in the process because of that acceptance? There are many components that need to be thought about in reference to the use of racial profiling. In addition, it can be viewed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In relation to the debate of racial profiling, Taylor and Whitney define racial profiling as the practice of questioning blacks in disproportionate numbers in expectation that they are more likely than people of other races to be criminals (Taylor Whitney, 2002). Statistics show that African Americans and Hispanics commit more crime than Caucasians, with 90% of the 1.7 million interracial crimes stemming from the hands of African American men. Even looking at these numbers, does that make it okay for the police to arrest and interrogate these racial minorities at such a high frequency? Where are these statistics coming from? How accurate are they? Does the media provide a skewed analysis of these findings? These are the types of questions that need to be addressed in regard to evaluating the validity of racial profiling. The annual National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) has been the primary method for gathering data and providing these staggering statistics. The NCVS provides information gathered from the victim, which includes information on crimes that went unreported to the police. Federalism also causes confusion between the local governments and the national government as well.
