Essay on Global Expansion
.The advantage of being the first mover gives the opportunity to gain control. Which could bring great
success and also the risk to fail. Both companies had the first mover advantage over other companies,
Both were capable of expanding their busniness and achiving customer satisfaction. Not with the same
level of achievement but both are still standing firm.
2. The difference is that for service company they must provide customer satisfaction and for a
manufacturing company they must provide product satisfaction. To achieve global success a service
company must have a good communication with their customers by having well trained employees.
The element is having excellent customer service. An obstable to global expansion is the high ... Show

The elements that a company needs to have global success is knowing the culture of the countries that
they are going to do business with and sending the right workers to the countries they will do best in
to do business. The obstacles for global expansion would be like not finding good supporting
countries like a company like boeing and now finding good staff that can do business in a certain
country.
3. They want to build relationships between other countries and their customers is a good thing.
Another good thing is that they want to hire people in that country and place that know it better and
have lived there because they would know where everything is and who lives there and needs what.
Some bad things though is since they have so many staff workers across the world that those business
could be inefficient and they could lose their relationship with the people and places and even
countries. Then DHL could start losing their high ranked reputation and lose a lot of business with
customers and other types of companies such as boeing and then they could even go bankrupt or out
of business for good.
4. DHL failed in the U.S. because of the Airborne Express, which they paid $1 billion for and ever
since it has been making them lose money. The dangers are that other companies are going to be
looking at them more and waiting for them to mess up so that they can step in and try to take over
there business.

Fate And Free Will In Oedipus The King
Do you really have a choice? Many people believe that there is no such thing as fate. That a person
can decide their own fate and nothing is set in stone. Although, people today don t think the same as
the people from the ancient societies. Back then, a person s fate was handed down from the gods to
oracles and was decided before the child was born. People had no choice back then, what the gods say
aren t taken lightly. But yet, people still attempted to trick fate and escape their destined paths. And in
one of the many ancient greeks stories, Oedipus Rex, a major theme was do not try to outsmart fate .
Throughout the story, many people attempted to escape or outsmart fate, but instead fate outsmarted
them, leading them down their already chosen paths. Nevertheless, the main characters in Oedipus
Rex, the kings and queen, who thought themselves worthy enough to test fate, seemed to be the ones
to lose to fate in the end. It s important to realize, that the first ones to test fate were King Laios and
Queen Jocasta. In Scene II, Jocasta tells Oedipus that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On a mission to find the truth of King Laios death, Oedipus finds out the truth behind his birth. When
Oedipus was born his fate was already decided for him, and no amount of running could change his or
anyone else s fate. Oedipus would not die in the woods, nor would he escape far enough from his
family, nor would his ending be a happy one. In Exodus, it is known that Jocasta killed herself and
Oedipus has blinded himself, so that he may not see the horrors of his life. Near the end of the story,
Oedipus is seen with his two daughters of the first and last time, in Oedipus Rex. He proceeds to tell
them: Then, whom / Can you ever marry? There are no bridegrooms for you, / And your lives must
wither away in sterile dreaming (Sophocles 78 79). And with so, completing the last and final piece of

Pharmacology And Migraine Research
Migraine and Evidence based pharmacology
Introduction
In the current medical practices, there are several treatment options. The pharmaceutical industry
produces so many drugs that perform similar functions (Chaitow Schoenen, 2013). However, the
pharmacokinetics of the drugs are quite different. Moreover, all the drugs in the market have different
side effects and toxicity profiles. The same drug tends to behave differently in different people.
Therefore, doctors are faced with hardships when choosing the best treatment option to adopt in
particular patients. It is for this reason that evidence based practice(EBP) was introduced.
Evidence based practice in the field of medicine is used to refer to the application of results obtained
from empirical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Migraine headaches are often experienced on one side of the head (Tepper, 2004). The pain is
associated with the pulsatile sensation that differs from one person to another. Migraine is also
characterized by throbbing and pounding headache that can lead to nausea, vomiting, and in some
instances photophobia. Presently, about 12 % of Americans experience migraine headaches every day.
Research shows that migraine mostly affect people aged 15 to 55 years (Tepper, 2004). Migraine has
been said to occur as a result of impaired nervous and circulatory system. In migraine, blood vessels
undergo vasodilation. The enlargement of the vessels interferes with the nerve cells that normally
surround the vessels making them secrete various chemical mediators. These chemicals include
prostaglandins, substance P, interleukins, and cytokines (Schulman, 2010). The chemicals are
responsible for inflammation and transmission of pain impulses. The associated feelings of nausea and
vomiting are attributed to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic response
also leads to slowed motility and gastric emptying that in turn reduces absorptions of gastric contents
such as nutrients and drugs. Additionally, the sympathetic system also leads to excessive sound and
light sensitivity. Statistics reveals that migraines affect more women than men. The severity of
migraine headaches ranges from mild, moderate to severe depending on the individuals affected. In
some instances, migraine headache can be a major cause of morbidity due to its debilitating

Spatial Rhythm and Poetic Invention in William Carlos...
William Carlos Williams was fascinated by the ways in which living organisms and inert matter
occupy space how they move in it, or cannot move, are cramped or allowed to roam freely and how
the space inside organisms and matter is charted, perceived, and manipulated. Williams s
preoccupation with actual space in the material world is paralleled by his formal experimentations
with the placement of words on the page. Without invention nothing is well spaced (P 50), Williams
writes at the beginning of Sunday in the Park, raising the question, what does well spaced mean for
Williams? How can the world and how can poetry be well spaced? The aim of this paper is to look at
the relationship between Williams s use of what I will call ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the opening lines of Sunday in the Park, Dr. P. s walk through the park becomes a metaphor not
only for sexual intercourse but for poetic production:
Outside outside myself there is a world, he rumbled, subject to my incursions

(to me) at rest, which I approach concretely The scene s the Park upon the rock, female to the city
upon whose body Paterson instructs his thoughts
The link between walking, coitus, and creativity is part of a larger framework in Sunday in which
biological processes and various kinds of movement through space what I am calling spatial rhythms
are used to explore the nature of poetry.
One only has to look at the configuration of words on the page to know that for Williams well spaced
involves not regularity but constant change and surprise. Williams s manipulation of space, both on
the page and in the Park, is, in this section of Paterson, the main tool used to create the structure that
M. L. Rosenthal and Sally Gall have described as characteristic of the modern poetic sequence, a
structure that is not predominantly narrative or dramatic, but lyrical, a progression of specific qualities
and intensities. [1] This rhythm corresponds to a cyclicity of mood that can be described as manic
depresive or, to use Rosenthal s and Gall s term, cyclothymic.[2] Corresponding to this constantly
changing tone is a space that is

Myth In Texas
While any constitution has the right to secede, it may be nothing more than an entertaining, and
persistent urban myth. It provides a useful advantage point from which to think about Texas role in the
United States. With the economy being the 12th largest economy compared to any other country in the
world, could Texas go it alone? Should Texas go at it alone?
While we could, it will be detrimental, even though Texas is the second largest state of the fifty states
in this country. Geographically it is located in the south central part of the country. Texas also shares
the border with Mexican States to the west; it also shares the border with Oklahoma, and to the north
with Arkansas, and also to the northwest, and to the east of Louisiana.

Father s Twine Research Paper
The Father s Twine
Around sometime in June of 1963 the father left the temple for personal reasons believed to be due to
income or to the shifting parties of the NOI in house discontent (The Father Allah was noted to have
been suspended several times for his actions). Nevertheless he and a few Muslims that understood the
problem of the temple and the reality of Allah s vision took to the streets. He decided to focus his
attention on the youths who could not be reached by local religious organizations and law
enforcement. He taught the youths who came from dysfunctional homes with no hope in sight;

What Is Meant by State Recognition in International Law
What is meant by state recognition in international law INTRODUCTION Some definitions of
international law can be found on the Web as follows: The body of laws governing relations between
nations , International law is the term commonly used for referring to the system of implicit and
explicit agreements that bind together nation states in adherence to recognized values and standards,
differing from other legal systems in that it concerns nations rather than private citizens. ... , A
complex network of principles, treaties, judicial decisions, customs, practices, and writings of experts

What are the rights and duties, the powers and immunities that attach to an entity because it is a State?
Crawford gives a list of five exclusive and general legal characteristics of States: (1) States have

exclusively competent with respect to their internal affairs exclusive means plenary and not subject to
control by other States. (3) States are not subject to international process without their consent. (4)

Preliminary Ruling Procedures
Enforcing the European Union legal system is diverse and done on multiple platforms; through not
only actions taken against member states for breach of their obligations, but also, for example, through
the use of direct effect1. Article 267 TFEU; an organism devised to practice private enforcement of
EU law before national courts, has been critical to ensure uniform interpretation and application of EU
law in member states. References for preliminary rulings occur when the national courts are presented
with a question of EU law due to uncertainty of the provision. The national court will therefore make a
reference to the Court of Justice (COJ) to obtain a preliminary ruling on any point of EU law relevant
to the proceedings 2. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under Art. 267, only court or tribunal of a member state may initiate preliminary reference to the ECJ,
however through succeeding case law this has been expanded by allowing entities whose members
may not be judges, provided that those entities have the power to adjudicate disputes 12. This concept
of a court or tribunal has been interpreted widely as it is a matter of union law13. The Advocate
General in De Coster14 criticised the court s approach and criteria to the interpretation as he deemed it
confusing. The court in this instance accepted the reference, as it was a permanent body established in
law, that it gives legal rulings and that the jurisdiction is compulsory 15. The court in further cases has
treated tribunals as not only tax appeal like in the case above but also; customs, social security and
immigration.
Despite the president of the ECJ optimism concerning caseload, there are still many issues present.
For example, the commission celebrates reducing the average duration of proceedings, however fails
to note the employment of 10 judges. There has been a dramatic rise in the number of cases since the
first referral in 1961, increasing from 1 to 38516. This is the highest level in the history of the ECJ.
Critics argue that this heavy workload has an adverse impact on the

Pan Africanism
Pan Africanism and the Organization of African Unity
Pan Africanism Definition
Pan Africanism is a sociopolitical worldview, and philosophy, as well as a movement, which seeks to
unify both native Africans and those of the African Diaspora, as part of a global African community .
Pan Africanism represents the aggregation of the historical, cultural, spiritual, artistic, scientific and
philosophical legacies of Africans from past times to the present. Pan Africanism as an ethical system,
traces its origins from ancient times, and promotes values that are the product of the African
civilization and struggles against slavery, racism, colonialism, and neo colonialism.

The key aims of the first conference were:
To bring into closer touch with one another the peoples of African descent throughout the world
T o inaugurate plans to bring about a more friendly relationship between Caucasian and African races
To start moving to securing all African races living in civilized counties with full rights to promote
their business interests.
The success of this early conference was limited but it did set the wheels in motion for greater debate.
For the first time the various elements of anti colonial and anti racial movements were brought to the
forefront and discussed in the public light. Dubois led the 1st Pan African congress, which took place
in Paris 1919, to discuss racial discrimination against colored troops stationed in France after WW1.
The next major landmark in the history of Pan Africanism was the 1945 Manchester Pan Africanism
Conference. For the first time the congress did not ask for recognition or favors from European
powers. They unequivocally demanded an end to colonialism in Africa, in addition to demands for
social justice and rights. All schemes of half freedom were rejected. The Manchester Congress gave an

Jim Costello s Dynamics Of Desire
Jim Costello was born in Rochester, New York, and when he was a young boy his passion for art
showed (Jim Costello). Costello studied at the Ecole St. Luc art school during high school, and then
continued his art career in college. The following years of teaching, Costello moved his family to
northwest Virginia, and started to paint the landscapes and the different scenery around his house. In
Costello art work you can tell that he is a modern painter because he uses different shapes and bright
colors to bring the viewers eyes directly to his paintings. The title of his show called Dynamics of
Desire: The Evocative Works of Jim Costello make it seem as if his painting will have some type of
sexual content (Jim Costello). Although his painting displays naked women, he is trying to capture the
spirt and energy that animates the Shenandoah Valley. This explains why in many of his painting there
is a naked woman and a landscape of the valley because he is trying to display mother nature in his
work. He does not finish his paintings in one setting, he does them over a period of years because his
art work is in a very large scale. The painting, Blanton, was finished in 1997 and it was a landscape of
mountains and a lake. The colors in this painting are so vibrant, that the blues, greens, and the browns
go directly to the viewer s eyes. This artist has so many elements of art in this piece, with the lines and

Generic Deafness Research Paper
Generic deafness can be classified into two sections syndromic and nonsyndromic. Nonsyndromic
affects the ear only and consists of 43 genes that hold recessive mutations and 25 genes, which consist
of dominant mutations.
The restoration of deafness requires the introduction of a missing exogenous gene or gene product.
Gene therapy offers the possibility of regenerating damaged cells by reprogramming cells to obtain the
characteristics of the damaged hair cells. Researchers have discovered a gene called Atoh1, also
known as Math1, which can generate into functional hair cells if stimulated. This experiment shows
that if the gene is forced to activate inside the human ear, new hair cells may be produced in
replacement of dead hair cells. However

The Golden State
California, nicknamed the Golden State, has attracted many an immigrant through the years. From the
migrations of peoples thousands of years ago that led to the establishment of the many Native
American tribes that populated the land, to the Spanish and Americans in later centuries, one wonders
what attracted all to the farthest frontier, the unsettled west coast. That is until you delve deeper into
what the land had to offer as an economic source. The year 1769 saw Gaspar de Portola and Father
Saint Junípero Serra leading the first permanent European settlers to California. Before the end of the
century, missions were established along the coast and towns were established, especially Los Angeles
in 1781. The establishment of missions and towns began economic growth based on agricultural
production and Native American labor that would soon lead to cities, ranches and local owners under
Mexican occupation taking the same advantage to produce locally until the United States brought a
wave of new settlement and industrial ideas that would sweep local trade and production into a new
era of transcontinental economic growth, transportation and financial gains.
In 1542, Juan Cabrillo made his way up what the coast of what the Spanish called Alta California from
the newly conquered Spanish province of Mexico in search of gold, but he only found Native
Americans living on land that consisted of thousands of square miles of fertile valleys, high

Examples Of Romantic Narrative In Mass Media
Romantic Narratives in Mass Media: The Construction of Ideals
As Television sales increased in the 1940s, more homes in the United States included TVs as a
common accessory in the family room. Since then, televisions have become another tool for
socialization individuals use to try and make sense of the world around them (Riesman, Denny,
Glaser, 1950). Furthermore, the combination of romance and mass media produced narratives
continues to be a prominent form of entertainment where TV writers and producers construct a picture
of what love should look like.
The way romantic relationships develop and the expectations individuals have for courtships vary by
culture; therefore, this proposed study will focus solely on images of idealized romance through a
Western lens. In general, romantic relationships in Western societies are guided by personal choice,
passion, and the notion of love at first sight. As you watch television or popular movies in the United
States, you can see examples of this type of love embedded into our media. For instance, the CBS
show How I Met Your Mother based each episode on the main character, Ted Mosby s quest for love.
As the show moves through its eight seasons, the viewer sees Ted go from one unhappy relationship to
another until he meets his ideal partner and eventually finds true love. Many shows like this center
around the main character s journey for his or her soul mate. The media has created certain
expectations of an idealized

Da Vinci s artwork of The Last Supper is as a piece of art that captures the moment of Christ just after
he tells his disciples that one of them will betray him is a very influential moment of the bible and is
beautifully depicted in this art work. I believe this work of art is a stand alone piece of art that is great
in that it shows Christ in the moment having his hands spread apart showing that they are pointed at a
piece of bread and a glass of wine. Which in turn represents the body of Christ in the bread and the
blood of Christ in the wine, which is the sacrament. What is also interesting about the painting is that
Jesus s hand that is reaching for the wine is also near a dish on the table which Judas is reaching for
symbolizing that fact that Judas is the one who betrays Jesus and has a bag of silver in his other hand
in the painting. As for William Byrd, I believe his music is beautiful in the fact that it is very calming
and easy listening, which makes me just want to listen to more of it. His style of music reminds me of
the Gothic era of music in a way because of the deep echo voices in the background, but it has more to
it as the other singers bring a more full sound to the piece of music and make the texture a nice soft
but abrasive type of listening that has emotion in its sound. I enthusiastically enjoyed

The Theory Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory
Albert Bandura is one of the most influential psychologist in history, best known for his famous Bobo
Doll Experiment. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory
that we learn from one another through observation.
To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed
aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford
University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and
female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24
children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a
model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato
prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5
foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing
toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking
for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the
nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. Following the mallet
aggression, the model tossed the doll up in the air and kicked it around the room. These aggressive
acts were repeated three times, interspersed

Hawaii and the Monst Inspiring Liliuokalani Women
Close your eyes and imagine this: an immense ocean, stretching far and wide, and when you look
down, nothing but deep blue. Now imagine looking out into the sky, and seeing the faint outline of
land rising in the horizon. These are the Hawaiian Islands. As you get closer, it looks like you re
seeing dark heads poking out of the water. As you arrive even closer so that the individual fronds of
the palm trees are visible, you realize that they are actually dark heads popping out of the water. For a
second, you almost believe that they could be mermaids, but in fact, it turns out that they are the
women of Hawaii coming out to welcome you with song! Welcome to Liliuokalani s world.
Liliuokalani affected America by being one of the most inspiring women ever to be a part of our rich
history. Queen Liliuokalani remains a popular symbol of Hawaiian character and spirit, and is a
cherished connection to the island s past. [She] was the last reigning monarch of the Hawaiian Islands.
She felt her mission was to preserve the islands for their native residents. (Tina Koeppe p. 22)
Liliuokalani (aka Lydia) was born on September 2, 1838 to a high chief of Hawaii. It was the custom
among the Hawaiian chiefs to give their new born babies to other chiefs to raise. The chiefs believed
that this custom made them feel close as if they all belonged to one big family. Lydia was sent to the
home of Abner Paki and his wife Konia. Because of the custom, Lydia grew up with a

The Female Characters Of Shakespeare s Hamlet
Women have played small roles in society in the past. In social, economical, and political standings.
Therefore in Shakespeare s Hamlet the women in the play, their roles are not portrayed as important.
The female characters in the play such as Gertrude, Hamlet s mother and Ophelia Hamlet s lover are
complicated, and very much opposite of one another. Although these are two different characters
Shakespeare portrays them in a negative matter in their small roles. Their acceptance in the world, and
their grief is not allowed by the men in their life, or of the world. The women have no chance for
redemption in the play, follow the demands, and decisions the men make for them. Gertrude in the
play is Hamlet s mother. Her character is in the middle of the conflict of all the family drama.
Throughout the play she continues to keep the conflict between Hamlet and Claudius as if she is
innocent to not really knowing of the issues going on.(University of California Santa Cruz 1).Of
course the marriage arrangement upsets Hamlet, because it had happened so soon after the death of his
father. Gertrude being a woman she might have married Claudius for a sense of security from a man,
or guidance with owning the kingdom. However she also shows independence (Rogers 1) according to
Rogers Gertrude rebels against her religion, and the authority of her newlywed husband Claudius. In
the scene he tells Gertrude to not drink from the cup, and she proceeds to do so. As for her religion the

False Perception Paper
False Perception There are times when correlation between variables appears to present an obvious
causal relationship, however, it is irresponsible for both researchers and the news media to produce
predictions without looking for alternate factors. A good example is decades of reporting on the
relationship between single mother households (independent variable) and rising crime rates
(dependent variable). The preceding example was explored by Philip Cohen (2012) in his article on
the single mom and murder rate relationship during the 1990s, in which he noted, I think single
mothers especially those who were raising kids back in the 1990s deserve an apology from the
conventional wisdom purveyors of that time (para. 2). Beginning with an exploration of the media s
interpretation of this relationship, I will also further examine the correct interpretation, and the policy
implications of Cohen s finding. The Media s Interpretation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sadly, it appears the media bought into an apparent epidemic and began to publish reports, perhaps
driven by confirmation bias or simply failing to conduct enough investigation. The published reports
in the 1990s cited the cause of rising crime rates as the rising amount of black households with single
mothers that were unable to control their children, instill values, etc. (Cohen, 2012). While I believe it
is not that farfetched to assume there is a relationship between family structure and the youths from
those households committing crime, I also believe there are other factors involved that the media
should have

Heathcliff Addiction
Within Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights, the theme of love as an addiction is
consistently weaved throughout the pages of the novel. It is seen in many characters, but Heathcliff is
the most clear example of this theme. His entire life and all of the decisions that he makes are based
off of the fact that he is addicted to loving Catherine, and can not get over her. There are many ways in
which readers can see that Heathcliff s love is an addiction, rather than a normal love story.
Addiction generally begins when a person is looking to fill a void within their life. Heathcliff grew up
as an adopted child, and after Mr. Earnshaw died, he had no parental figures in his life. HIndley
treated him poorly throughout his childhood, so Heathcliff

A Study on Mutual Funds of India
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
MEANING | A Mutual Fund is a trust that pools the savings of a number of investors who share a
common financial goal. The money thus collected is then invested in capital market instruments such
as shares, debentures and other securities. The income earned through these investments and the
capital appreciation realised are shared by its unit holders in proportion to the number of units owned
by them. Thus a Mutual Fund is the most suitable investment for the common man as it offers an
opportunity to invest in a diversified, professionally managed basket of securities at a relatively low
cost. In other words, Mutual fund is a mechanism for pooling the resources by issuing units to the

Blackbeard
From working for the British on a Privateer then moving to Jamaica and taking up piracy, Blackbeard
s life was full of excitement.
Blackbeard was known as Edward Teach was British. It was believed that Teach was born in the 1680
s. He was operating in Jamaica as a privateer. Privateers are a private, armed boat hired by the
Government during the War of the Spanish Succession or Queen Anne s War. During the war in Teach
had become a very skillful sea robber. By the end of the war in 1716 Teach as most of the privateers
moved to Jamaica to take up piracy (Kirkpatrick). When Teach became a pirate he Joined the crew of

When Blackbeard captured the La Concorde he found satisfying so, he took the ship as his own. Teach

canons on the ship which change the number from 26 to 40 canons. So now the once French cargo
ship is now a 110ft, 300 ton ship with 40 canons (Hamilton 8 9). Aboard the Queen Anne s Revenge
Blackbeard never let his crew forget who was incharge. Some of Blackbeard s crew was foolish
enough to accept a crazy challenge. The challenge was to see who could stay below deck in a room
while sulfur was burning the longest. Once the the sulfur was lit crew members were running to get
above on the deck and soon all of the crew members were out in the open gasping for fresh air. The
last one to come out was of course Blackbeard. Teach once shot one of his own crewmen over a
drunken game of poker. Once Blackbeard even said that If he didn t kill one of his crew members once
in awhile, they would forget who he was (Hamilton 16).
When Blackbeard attack he put fear into people s eyes. His long black beard which gave him the
nickname Blackbeard and his mad man s look. Charles Johnson wrote in his book A General History

Get Drunk By Charles Baudelaire
In the prose poem, Get Drunk, Charles Baudelaire shares advice on how to escape all the burdens that
come with life. He encourages his readers to get drunk and to always be drunk. Charles Baudelaire
sensibly uses the word drunk to describe what one should do when he or she begins to feel the burden
of time. The way he defines drunkenness in this poem inspires readers to change their mindset on
what brings them satisfaction in life. I believe Get Drunk transmits a healthy message and the poet
views drunkenness as a positive experience. When people hear or see the word drunk , they
automatically think of alcohol consumption and the psychological effects it has on the mind.
Baudelaire s definition of drunkenness differs from the dictionaries

Guatemalan Literature
Syriac literature accounts for 90% of the total Aramaic literature. The literature was written in the
Esṭrangelā (Classical) form. The earliest forms of Syriac literature were based in Edessa and were
written by pagans, agnostics, Jews, and Christians. The exact origins of these works were never found.
By the start of the third century the Old Testament had already been translated into Syriac from
Hebrew. Around the same time is when one of the earliest versions of the New Testament known as
the Diatessaron came into being. This work was used by the Syriac Church for two centuries until a
prominent bishop claimed that the author, Tatian was a heretic. This book consisted of the gospels of

Though called the Assyrian genocide a better suited name would be the Assyrian/Syriac/Chaldean
genocide. between the years 1914 1920 along with the better known Armenian genocide and the
Greek genocide. This event was not the first tragedy in Syriac history as Byzantine oppression,
slaughter at the hands of the Crusaders, and Mongol invasion occurred prior (The Syriac Orthodox
Church a Brief Overview, NP). The rise of nationalism among the Christian citizens of the Ottoman
Empire and the rise of the Young Turk government that preached a Turkey for the Turks was recipe for
a disaster. The Young Turk government staged a successful coup in 1913. Following the entrance of
the Ottoman Empire into World War I in November 1914 simultaneous genocides against Assyrians,
Armenians, and Greeks occurred along with the help of Kurdish tribes. Victims were plundered, raped,
deported, and massacred horrifically. The Assyrian genocide is treated slightly differently from that of
the Armenians as there were no specific orders to attack and deport Assyrians from Ottoman leaders
since they were not assisting the Russian Empire and did not desire their own nation state. The
genocide was carried out by local leaders and Kurdish tribes. In some cities the entire adult
populations were wiped out whereas in other cities such as Mardin only the male population was
killed and the widows and children were forced to leave on foot which caused many more deaths. The
deaths were not limited to just the Ottoman Empire as Assyrians in Persia were also slaughtered when
the Ottoman Empire invaded northwestern Persia (The Assyrian Genocide, 1914 to 1923 and 1933 up
to the Present, NP). The death toll was believed to be 300,000 Syriacs yet has only been recognized by
the Swedish and Armenian Parliaments (Centenary of 1915 Syriac (Sayfo) genocide, NP). As the

Should Gum Be Allowed In Schools Essay
Chewing Gum should be Allowed in New Zealand Schools
We are all enslaved by the perpetual habit that has brought students frequent detentions and meetings
with deans. Who would have guessed that such a tiny and irrelevant piece of rubber would cause such
controversy and create so many problems for the young consumers. But hidden behind society s
prejudice, the facts of gum providing aid in studies, being able to relay positive vibes towards peers
and being an easily disposable and recyclable product. As fellow students of Lynfield College who
have been embarrassed, punished ruthlessly, and threatened by teachers on a daily basis, it s time to
stand up for our own rights and our gum rights. Gum is a practical tool that could benefit students
massively, yet the facts are censored from the public.
Majority of students and teachers are unaware of the significance gum can impact on a student s
studies and ability to learn, as a tool that can be used to learn better, chewing gum should be allowed
in school. However, in the eyes of the community the common opinion is gum is bad for our health .

Gloria Anzaldua And Dear White People
Struggles with Identity
Finding your identity can be hard for some people. Your identity obviously makes you who you are.
Gloria Anzaldua s To Live in the Borderlands (1987) and Justin Simien s Dear White People (2014)
had a couple things in common when related to identity. In the poem, she talks about being between
the borderlands and trying to find who you are based on where you are from and where you are now. I
see a similar concept of not being able to decide who you really are in several characters in Dear
White People. When I think of the struggles with identity in both the poem and the movie, I think of
the tug of war game. The reader, or character in the movie, is in the middle and having both sides of
who they are on each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You are the battle ground where enemies are kin to each other and you are at home, a stranger is where
that situation really stands out. She is saying that she is the middle man of two different sides. In this
case, I see it being between her homeland and where she is now. When she writes you are at home, a
stranger meaning when she goes back to where she grew up, she is not the same person she once was
and her family and friends do not recognize her. If I picture this poem as visual aspect, I see the reader
in the middle and the hometown on one side and the current residence on the other playing tug of war
and the reader cannot decide who should win.
When I watch Dear White People I see the same features come through as with the overall aspect of
To Live in the Borderlands. Rather than one person with identity issues in the poem, in the movie
there are several people with this problem. The first person that really stands out to me when I think
identity conflictions is, Samantha White. We see her being strong and forceful for the black
community on Winchester campus and then see her sleeping with Gabe, a white man. Right off the
bat, we see some in between from choosing to be with a white man and sticking up for the black
community. It only gets more conflicting as the movie goes on. She is still back and forth with the
community and with Gabe. As the movie comes to an end, we find out that Sam has a white father and
she was never really

Me: After his then infamous scandal and Cambridge University turning their back on him Louis
Leakey began his own expeditions (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2013), in Tanzania where he explored
the fossil rich strata of Olduvai Gorge (Figure 4). In 1937 he once gain returned to his home and

reputation due to its remarkable success (Bowman Kruhm, M. 2005).

  • 2. Essay on Global Expansion .The advantage of being the first mover gives the opportunity to gain control. Which could bring great success and also the risk to fail. Both companies had the first mover advantage over other companies, Both were capable of expanding their busniness and achiving customer satisfaction. Not with the same level of achievement but both are still standing firm. 2. The difference is that for service company they must provide customer satisfaction and for a manufacturing company they must provide product satisfaction. To achieve global success a service company must have a good communication with their customers by having well trained employees. The element is having excellent customer service. The elements that a company needs to have global success is knowing the culture of the countries that they are going to do business with and sending the right workers to the countries they will do best in to do business. The obstacles for global expansion would be like not finding good supporting countries like a company like boeing and now finding good staff that can do business in a certain country. 3. They want to build relationships between other countries and their customers is a good thing. Another good thing is that they want to hire people in that country and place that know it better and have lived there because they would know where everything is and who lives there and needs what. Some bad things though is since they have so many staff workers across the world that those business could be inefficient and they could lose their relationship with the people and places and even countries. Then DHL could start losing their high ranked reputation and lose a lot of business with customers and other types of companies such as boeing and then they could even go bankrupt or out of business for good. 4. DHL failed in the U.S. because of the Airborne Express, which they paid $1 billion for and ever since it has been making them lose money. The dangers are that other companies are going to be looking at them more and waiting for them to mess up so that they can step in and try to take over there business. 5. • 3. Fate And Free Will In Oedipus The King Do you really have a choice? Many people believe that there is no such thing as fate. That a person can decide their own fate and nothing is set in stone. Although, people today don t think the same as the people from the ancient societies. Back then, a person s fate was handed down from the gods to oracles and was decided before the child was born. People had no choice back then, what the gods say aren t taken lightly. But yet, people still attempted to trick fate and escape their destined paths. And in one of the many ancient greeks stories, Oedipus Rex, a major theme was do not try to outsmart fate . Throughout the story, many people attempted to escape or outsmart fate, but instead fate outsmarted them, leading them down their already chosen paths. Nevertheless, the main characters in Oedipus Rex, the kings and queen, who thought themselves worthy enough to test fate, seemed to be the ones to lose to fate in the end. It s important to realize, that the first ones to test fate were King Laios and Queen Jocasta. In Scene II, Jocasta tells Oedipus that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On a mission to find the truth of King Laios death, Oedipus finds out the truth behind his birth. When Oedipus was born his fate was already decided for him, and no amount of running could change his or anyone else s fate. In Exodus, it is known that Jocasta killed herself and Oedipus has blinded himself, so that he may not see the horrors of his life. Near the end of the story, Oedipus is seen with his two daughters of the first and last time, in Oedipus Rex. He proceeds to tell them: Then, whom / Can you ever marry? There are no bridegrooms for you, / And your lives must wither away in sterile dreaming (Sophocles 78 79). And with so, completing the last and final piece of Oedipus s ... • 4. Pharmacology And Migraine Research Migraine and Evidence based pharmacology Introduction In the current medical practices, there are several treatment options. The pharmaceutical industry produces so many drugs that perform similar functions (Chaitow Schoenen, 2013). However, the pharmacokinetics of the drugs are quite different. Moreover, all the drugs in the market have different side effects and toxicity profiles. The same drug tends to behave differently in different people. Therefore, doctors are faced with hardships when choosing the best treatment option to adopt in particular patients. It is for this reason that evidence based practice(EBP) was introduced. Evidence based practice in the field of medicine is used to refer to the application of results obtained from empirical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Migraine headaches are often experienced on one side of the head (Tepper, 2004). The pain is associated with the pulsatile sensation that differs from one person to another. Migraine is also characterized by throbbing and pounding headache that can lead to nausea, vomiting, and in some instances photophobia. Presently, about 12 % of Americans experience migraine headaches every day. Research shows that migraine mostly affect people aged 15 to 55 years (Tepper, 2004). Migraine has been said to occur as a result of impaired nervous and circulatory system. In migraine, blood vessels undergo vasodilation. The enlargement of the vessels interferes with the nerve cells that normally surround the vessels making them secrete various chemical mediators. These chemicals include prostaglandins, substance P, interleukins, and cytokines (Schulman, 2010). The chemicals are responsible for inflammation and transmission of pain impulses. The associated feelings of nausea and vomiting are attributed to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic response also leads to slowed motility and gastric emptying that in turn reduces absorptions of gastric contents such as nutrients and drugs. Additionally, the sympathetic system also leads to excessive sound and light sensitivity. Statistics reveals that migraines affect more women than men. The severity of migraine headaches ranges from mild, moderate to severe depending on the individuals affected. In some instances, migraine headache can be a major cause of morbidity due to its debilitating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Spatial Rhythm and Poetic Invention in William Carlos... William Carlos Williams was fascinated by the ways in which living organisms and inert matter occupy space how they move in it, or cannot move, are cramped or allowed to roam freely and how the space inside organisms and matter is charted, perceived, and manipulated. Williams s preoccupation with actual space in the material world is paralleled by his formal experimentations with the placement of words on the page. Without invention nothing is well spaced (P 50), Williams writes at the beginning of Sunday in the Park, raising the question, what does well spaced mean for Williams? How can the world and how can poetry be well spaced? The aim of this paper is to look at the relationship between Williams s use of what I will call ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One only has to look at the configuration of words on the page to know that for Williams well spaced involves not regularity but constant change and surprise. Williams s manipulation of space, both on the page and in the Park, is, in this section of Paterson, the main tool used to create the structure that M. L. Rosenthal and Sally Gall have described as characteristic of the modern poetic sequence, a structure that is not predominantly narrative or dramatic, but lyrical, a progression of specific qualities and intensities. [1] This rhythm corresponds to a cyclicity of mood that can be described as manic depresive or, to use Rosenthal s and Gall s term, cyclothymic.[2] Corresponding to this constantly changing tone is a space that is ... With the economy being the 12th largest economy compared to any other country in the world, could Texas go it alone? Should Texas go at it alone? While we could, it will be detrimental, even though Texas is the second largest state of the fifty states in this country. Geographically it is located in the south central part of the country. Preliminary Ruling Procedures Enforcing the European Union legal system is diverse and done on multiple platforms; through not only actions taken against member states for breach of their obligations, but also, for example, through the use of direct effect1. Article 267 TFEU; an organism devised to practice private enforcement of EU law before national courts, has been critical to ensure uniform interpretation and application of EU law in member states. References for preliminary rulings occur when the national courts are presented with a question of EU law due to uncertainty of the provision. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under Art. 267, only court or tribunal of a member state may initiate preliminary reference to the ECJ, however through succeeding case law this has been expanded by allowing entities whose members may not be judges, provided that those entities have the power to adjudicate disputes 12. This concept of a court or tribunal has been interpreted widely as it is a matter of union law13. The Advocate General in De Coster14 criticised the court s approach and criteria to the interpretation as he deemed it confusing. The court in this instance accepted the reference, as it was a permanent body established in law, that it gives legal rulings and that the jurisdiction is compulsory 15. The court in further cases has treated tribunals as not only tax appeal like in the case above but also; customs, social security and immigration. Despite the president of the ECJ optimism concerning caseload, there are still many issues present. For example, the commission celebrates reducing the average duration of proceedings, however fails to note the employment of 10 judges. There has been a dramatic rise in the number of cases since the first referral in 1961, increasing from 1 to 38516. This is the highest level in the history of the ECJ. The success of this early conference was limited but it did set the wheels in motion for greater debate. For the first time the various elements of anti colonial and anti racial movements were brought to the forefront and discussed in the public light. Dubois led the 1st Pan African congress, which took place in Paris 1919, to discuss racial discrimination against colored troops stationed in France after WW1. The next major landmark in the history of Pan Africanism was the 1945 Manchester Pan Africanism Conference. For the first time the congress did not ask for recognition or favors from European powers. The following years of teaching, Costello moved his family to northwest Virginia, and started to paint the landscapes and the different scenery around his house. In Costello art work you can tell that he is a modern painter because he uses different shapes and bright colors to bring the viewers eyes directly to his paintings. The title of his show called Dynamics of Desire: The Evocative Works of Jim Costello make it seem as if his painting will have some type of sexual content (Jim Costello). Although his painting displays naked women, he is trying to capture the spirt and energy that animates the Shenandoah Valley. This explains why in many of his painting there is a naked woman and a landscape of the valley because he is trying to display mother nature in his work. He does not finish his paintings in one setting, he does them over a period of years because his art work is in a very large scale. The painting, Blanton, was finished in 1997 and it was a landscape of mountains and a lake. The colors in this painting are so vibrant, that the blues, greens, and the browns go directly to the viewer s eyes. This artist has so many elements of art in this piece, with the lines and the texture on the water and the mountains. The lines are everywhere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Generic Deafness Research Paper Generic deafness can be classified into two sections syndromic and nonsyndromic. Nonsyndromic affects the ear only and consists of 43 genes that hold recessive mutations and 25 genes, which consist of dominant mutations. The restoration of deafness requires the introduction of a missing exogenous gene or gene product. Gene therapy offers the possibility of regenerating damaged cells by reprogramming cells to obtain the characteristics of the damaged hair cells. Researchers have discovered a gene called Atoh1, also known as Math1, which can generate into functional hair cells if stimulated. This experiment shows that if the gene is forced to activate inside the human ear, new hair cells may be produced in replacement of dead hair cells. However ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the migrations of peoples thousands of years ago that led to the establishment of the many Native American tribes that populated the land, to the Spanish and Americans in later centuries, one wonders what attracted all to the farthest frontier, the unsettled west coast. That is until you delve deeper into what the land had to offer as an economic source. The year 1769 saw Gaspar de Portola and Father Saint Junípero Serra leading the first permanent European settlers to California. Before the end of the century, missions were established along the coast and towns were established, especially Los Angeles in 1781. The establishment of missions and towns began economic growth based on agricultural production and Native American labor that would soon lead to cities, ranches and local owners under Mexican occupation taking the same advantage to produce locally until the United States brought a wave of new settlement and industrial ideas that would sweep local trade and production into a new era of transcontinental economic growth, transportation and financial gains. In 1542, Juan Cabrillo made his way up what the coast of what the Spanish called Alta California from the newly conquered Spanish province of Mexico in search of gold, but he only found Native Americans living on land that consisted of thousands of square miles of fertile valleys, high mountains, freshwater lakes, and ... • 16. Examples Of Romantic Narrative In Mass Media Romantic Narratives in Mass Media: The Construction of Ideals As Television sales increased in the 1940s, more homes in the United States included TVs as a common accessory in the family room. Since then, televisions have become another tool for socialization individuals use to try and make sense of the world around them (Riesman, Denny, Glaser, 1950). Furthermore, the combination of romance and mass media produced narratives continues to be a prominent form of entertainment where TV writers and producers construct a picture of what love should look like. The way romantic relationships develop and the expectations individuals have for courtships vary by culture; therefore, this proposed study will focus solely on images of idealized romance through a Western lens. In general, romantic relationships in Western societies are guided by personal choice, passion, and the notion of love at first sight. As you watch television or popular movies in the United States, you can see examples of this type of love embedded into our media. For instance, the CBS show How I Met Your Mother based each episode on the main character, Ted Mosby s quest for love. As the show moves through its eight seasons, the viewer sees Ted go from one unhappy relationship to another until he meets his ideal partner and eventually finds true love. Many shows like this center around the main character s journey for his or her soul mate. The media has created certain expectations of an idealized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Da Vinci s artwork of The Last Supper is as a piece of art that captures the moment of Christ just after he tells his disciples that one of them will betray him is a very influential moment of the bible and is beautifully depicted in this art work. I believe this work of art is a stand alone piece of art that is great in that it shows Christ in the moment having his hands spread apart showing that they are pointed at a piece of bread and a glass of wine. Which in turn represents the body of Christ in the bread and the blood of Christ in the wine, which is the sacrament. What is also interesting about the painting is that Jesus s hand that is reaching for the wine is also near a dish on the table which Judas is reaching for symbolizing that fact that Judas is the one who betrays Jesus and has a bag of silver in his other hand in the painting. As for William Byrd, I believe his music is beautiful in the fact that it is very calming and easy listening, which makes me just want to listen to more of it. His style of music reminds me of the Gothic era of music in a way because of the deep echo voices in the background, but it has more to it as the other singers bring a more full sound to the piece of music and make the texture a nice soft but abrasive type of listening that has emotion in its sound. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory that we learn from one another through observation. To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5 foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. False Perception Paper False Perception There are times when correlation between variables appears to present an obvious causal relationship, however, it is irresponsible for both researchers and the news media to produce predictions without looking for alternate factors. A good example is decades of reporting on the relationship between single mother households (independent variable) and rising crime rates (dependent variable). The preceding example was explored by Philip Cohen (2012) in his article on the single mom and murder rate relationship during the 1990s, in which he noted, I think single mothers especially those who were raising kids back in the 1990s deserve an apology from the conventional wisdom purveyors of that time (para. 2). The rise of nationalism among the Christian citizens of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of the Young Turk government that preached a Turkey for the Turks was recipe for a disaster. The Young Turk government staged a successful coup in 1913. Following the entrance of the Ottoman Empire into World War I in November 1914 simultaneous genocides against Assyrians, Armenians, and Greeks occurred along with the help of Kurdish tribes. Victims were plundered, raped, deported, and massacred horrifically. The Assyrian genocide is treated slightly differently from that of the Armenians as there were no specific orders to attack and deport Assyrians from Ottoman leaders since they were not assisting the Russian Empire and did not desire their own nation state. The genocide was carried out by local leaders and Kurdish tribes. In some cities the entire adult populations were wiped out whereas in other cities such as Mardin only the male population was killed and the widows and children were forced to leave on foot which caused many more deaths. The deaths were not limited to just the Ottoman Empire as Assyrians in Persia were also slaughtered when the Ottoman Empire invaded northwestern Persia (The Assyrian Genocide, 1914 to 1923 and 1933 up to the Present, NP).
