Criteria Of Frankenstein
Is Frankenstein should be the greatest novel of all time?
Reading a novel can change the way of thinking forever. As everyone knows that most of the
composition in the whole world always have their value on their own. But only some of them can
be the greatest novel of all time for readers. And an effective qualification of the great novel should
open our eyes and uplift our mind. Most people consider that Frankenstein is one of them. But there
are still controversies about masterpiece novel like Frankenstein that it should be the greatest novel
of all time or not because of the bias of the writer about the gender, an appraisal the knowledge as
dangerous things, and a creation the wrong social value through the theme of the ... Show more

Generally, all of the novels in the world always have their theme to presents the main point of
the story that the writer want to tell readers. And the obvious main theme of Frankenstein is a
theme of friendships. Shelley shows us through the theme of friendships that the worst
punishment of human is a solitariness. Most of the characters in this novel have to face with a
suffering in their life from being alone, for instance, Beaufort, Walton, Victor, and Monster. It
leads to a wrong social value that human can t live their life without friends and be ashamed to
live alone. If we have to rely on people every moment and stuck with a suffering like this, how
can we move forward to the next step in our life? It s clearly that the greatest novel of all time

Chinese Cinderella Quotes
In Chinese Cinderella there are times about when Communists are taking of Tianjin and when
Adeline is left all by herself in an orphanage. Adeline was unwanted from just two weeks after
she was born because her birth was blamed to kill her mother. In the book Adeline speaks up
when a baby was being beaten by Niang, because of that Niang will forever hate Adeline for her
arrogance and for her Aunt Baba spoiling her. In the autobiography, Chinese Cinderella, by Adeline
Yeh Mah, Adeline shows how she is verbally and physically abused. Throughout the book her life
becomes harder as she becomes more unwanted, unloved by her family, and lonelier with her
friendship.
During the book there are many times when Adeline is lonely at her house because her siblings
hate her for killing their mother, and Father and Niang only like Niangs kids. The only person in
Adeline s house that like her is Ye Ye, Aunt Baba, and Third Brother. The stewardess asked me to
fill out these cards. I m afraid I ve forgotten your Chinese name. Is it Jun qing? (Yen Mah 124

how at home and with her family she is not cared about by her father enough for him to know her

Driving Age Change
When someone wants to get clean from doing drugs there is always a withdrawal period. To get to
that withdrawal period the person must stop taking the drug they have been on. Whether the person
quits in a day or three months later, that person would still have to go through that withdrawal
period. This is similar to a teen starting to drive for the first time. The reasons why I think that the
drivingage limit shouldn t be changed is because people can still, get around the rules by waiting
until the age of eighteen to avoid the restrictions, the number of driver fatalities are decreasing
majorly, and because the number of crashes wouldn t diminish it would only put off the effect. For
instance, Delaying something from starting (much like the drug addict getting clean) won t change
much of anything (unless learned more about the subject of matter). Quoted from the Informational
Article written by Anahad O Connor Dr. Masten strongly suspects that the reason for increasing
deadly crashes among 18 year olds is that many teenagers, rather than deal... Show more content on

protect the data from unauthorized access and from various attacks to the cloud environment .we
propose a method where IDS with HONEYPOT can be integrated at the provider side to have a
robust data security for the cloud user data access. 1.Introduction: In this century, Internet is on
the edge of another revolution, where resources are globally networked and can be easily shared.
Cloud computing is in the focus that uses the Internet as a large repository where resources are
available to everyone as services.[5]. many people prefer cloud services for its
flexibility, versatility, anywhere accessibility of the services through internet. Cloud Computing is
an internet based computing technology primarily based on utilization of computing power that
provides different types of services by utilizing pool of resources mainly hardware, software,
database, network, in terms of pay for use basis as per specific Service label agreement. Cloud
Computing is becoming more and more popular at present information technology setup of many
large organizations. [2]. security plays a major role from the user prospective in the cloud
environment. Cloud computing also suffers from various traditional attacks such as IPspoofing

Analysis Of The Book The Night
Alan strode out the door just as skittish as he was when he walked in. He went over his plan in his
head a countless amount of times. He was meeting Diana for dinner that night. He was going to put
the potion into her wine. Diana wasn t aware that Alan had such a tremendous admiration for her.
He was strolling along, almost to the restaurant when a bluebird swooped down and snatched the
lovepotionfrom Alan s grip. Ah ah oh you come back here bird! That s mine! shrieked Alan. He
dashed after the bird until he could no longer run. The bird landed, and Alan could see the bird
sipping the potion. Alan s jaw dropped. He pondered upon what it would do to animals. The
wise man hadn t said anything about animals. That was supposed to be for Diana! Now what am
I going to do? Alan spoke out loud to himself. The bird was staring at him. Go away bird.
However, the bird did not go away. Instead, it flew over to Alan and landed right on his shoulder.
Alan shooed the bird off of his shoulder and started pacing towards the restaurant where he was
meeting Diana. He was still going to meet Diana, even if she wasn t going to fall in love with him
today.
Alan stepped up to the door of the restaurant. It was a glass door so he could see his reflection.
He could also see the bird s reflection. The bird was right behind him. He had followed Alan all the
way to the restaurant. You need to leave, Alan commanded the bird. Then, Alan realized what was

How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism?
Q. How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism?
A. Romantic poetry was an artistic movement of the late 18th and early
19th century. It dealt with nature, human imagination, childhood and the ability to recall emotional
memories of both happiness and sadness. Before Wordsworth began writing his revolutionary new
style of poetry, all preceding poetry had a very different style.
The reason these poems were classed as revolutionary was because he believed that romantic poetry
should describe incidents of common life and ordinary people and were written in deliberately
plain words. It was what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and a single small cottage the only dwelling on earth that she loves She looks, her heart to heaven
This shows how happy she is at seeing her cottage, in the countryside that she loves.
However, this soon fades. The images go away and she is sad once again as she goes back to her
unhappy life in the city where she feels trapped. This fits into Romanticism by including most of the
main features. It deals with human feelings and how Susan is sad. It includes memories and the use
of imagination. It also shows probably the most important feature, which is a love of nature. We see
that Susan feels truly happy surrounded by hills and pastures.
We also see this in Wordsworth s most famous and well known poem
Daffodils . Wordsworth thought of his poetry as originating in
emotion recollected in tranquillity . His memories were memories of strong feelings of happiness
brought about by something or some landscape connected to the nature.
In Daffodils , we again see all the features that make this poem fit into the tradition of Romanticism
and Romantic Poetry.
Wordsworth describes nature and says how beautiful it is and the beauty he sees when he looks at
the daffodils.
when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils .
He also uses his imagination to see the daffodils almost as human beings. He describes their
movements as, and compares

Racial Ethnic Differences Of Offending, Victimization, And...
Q1.The racial/ethnic differences in offending, victimization, and incarceration? Minorities,
particularly African Americans, are generally overrepresented in the criminal justice system both
as offenders and as victims. According to the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) for 2003, African
Americans (who were 12.7 percent of the population in 2003) were arrested for 37 percent of
violent crimes (murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated
assault) and 29 percent of property crime(102:288). African Americans are disproportionately
arrested for violent crimes and whites for burglaries and property crimes. Although most crime
is committed by males, black women are also disproportionately involved in the criminal justice
system. The rate of black women under control of the criminal justice system is growing faster
than for any other group, including black men and white men (86:136). Blacks are victims of
serious violent crimes at far higher rates than whites. In 2002, blacks were 6 times more likely to
be murdered than whites; and although homicide levels have declined for all groups over the past
decade, during the 1976 to 2002 period, rates were disproportionately high for African Americans at
47 percent of victims (28
Native Americans also have disproportionately high rates of criminal offending and victimization.

The Human Body Cope With Stress
I am someone who is deeply interested in studying the human condition as it ranges in response to a
variety of life experiences and stressors. Humans respond to stress differently and largely as a
function of their environmental context. The many ways in which the systems of the human body
cope with stress can influence long term health and developmental outcomes that may even cross
over into subsequent generations.
Much of my curiosity in learning about human development stems from my own family
background. In fact, my parents are refugees from the country of Eritrea; they fled from the Eritrean
Ethiopian civil war as the people of Eritrea fought for their independence from Ethiopian rule. My
parents, along with thousands of others, sought political asylum and eventually found refuge in the
United States. My parents recount their experiences of having to stealthily travel from camp to
camp and entering neighboring countries that forced them to assimilate for the sake of their safety
and survival. Currently, Eritrea continues to experience a outflux of its citizens by the thousands as
they attempt to escape the despotism in government that currently plagues the land.
The experiences of my parents and the countless other immigrants of Eritrea motivate me so
strongly to focus and draw parallels to the current experiences of people who have been directly
impacted by the crisis in Syria. It inspires me to grasp a better understanding firsthand of the

If I Die In A Combat Zone Analysis
If I Die In A Combat Zone
Throughout If I Die in a Combat Zone, Tim O Brien attests that the Vietnam War was unjust by
illuminating the erosion of autonomy due to the drafting, illustrating the excruciating suffering of
the innocent, and interpreting the inequitable price of the war. O Brien reveals the lack of
autonomy throughout the war by expressing his discontent with the draft and the moral
confrontation of fighting in the war. One example of this would be when O Brien was speaking
with The Chaplain Edward about his quality of life as a soldier where the chaplain asks about the
cafeteria servings almost ironically(pg.55), and O Brien goes on to explain the physical and
emotional trauma he has endured in the process of the war and the ... Show more content on

He exemplifies this perspective when he not only begs for everlasting peace, but encourages the
reader to follow the old idealisms of war, that it is awful and made only to turn boys into men,
defending the idealism no matter the perspective, none of it seems correct (pg.23). He makes
this a point to say that any viewpoint that doesn t include the war itself is acceptable, indicating
prevention of it at all costs. He continues to support his argument as the soldiers approach
heading home. Claiming that he had little to no colleraltation to the life he once had, and the
world that he was going back to. Everything resembles his old life, but was a completely different
feeling than before.O Brien does this to conclude his story and signify the impact of the war and
the way it does not only affect the battlefield but one s entire life(pg. 205). O Brien explains to the
reader that before, and even after the war he remains convinced that the war was wrong and should
not have happened. He goes on to explain that the war was wrongly conceived and couldn t have
benefited the situation with any of the victories possible(pg. 18).He does this to truthfully express
his values, because throughout the book most opinions vary on how O Brien truly feels. This
significant statement he created, not only gave his personal perspective, but signified the purest

Summary-Literary Analysis of Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean...
In Mommy, What Does Nigger Mean? , author Gloria Naylor explains throughout her piece that
reality shapes language and language can shape reality. Naylor explains this, chicken or the egg
dispute (Naylor 1) through her experiences with the word nigger. Gloria explains how she starts
on one side of reality and shaping her language, then comes to another understanding from the
boy in her third grade class. Language can be how words are used, what their meaning is and the
purpose behind that selection of words. Reality is everyday life and experiences. When in third
grade Naylor encounters nigger as a racial derogatory when a boy said nigger to her while receiving
graded tests back. To Gloria it was anything but a racial put down since... Show more content on

An instance of her exemplification is by calling someone a, trifling nigger (Naylor 2) is to say that
person has a bad reputation of being drunk, foul or rude. Calling another person that name may be
demeaning to their reputation but in no way does it discriminate against them racially. A second
exemplifying definition is the possessive adjective use by a woman to her boyfriend or husband.
When that woman calls her man my nigger (Naylor 2) it means a term of endearment or a
compliment. By defining a word specifically one can alter the meaning and the reality of that word
through language while excluding prejudice.
Although exemplification plays a big role in proving Naylor s ideas, refutation backs up the
examples and adds more content. Through instances of refutation she proves a great deal of
supportive information to establish her ideas effectiveness by softening opposing opinions. Gloria
shows refutation by exemplification of definitions that have no racial prejudice and how those
accepted definitions from her family modeled her language. Another example of a definition used
in the family is when talking about approval of a trait. In the passage the speaker says, I m
telling you, that nigger pulled in $6,000 of overtime last year. (Naylor 2). The trait being
approved of here would be drive or determination resulting in success. The second piece of negation
is that the people in people in

What Does Maine Mean To Me Essay
I may be an elected senator for the great state of Maine, but one of the best experiences in my life

Individuals under 18 and between the ages of 50 and 64 are the predominant age groups and the

Essay On Radical Republicans
Radical Republicans believed that blacks were entitled to equal political opportunities and
rights as whites. They also believed that Confederate leaders should be punished for what they
did in the Civil War. People like representative Thaddeus Stevens and Senator Charles Sumner
were extremely against Andrew Johnson s lenient policies and thought the federal government
stuck its nose in state affairs too much. However, they grew tired of waiting for a change and
took a direct intervention into state affairs. These Radicals believed that blacks must be given
the chance to engage in a free labor economy. In 1866, Congress created a bill to prolong the
existence of the Freedmen s Bureau and then began to develop a Civil Rights bill. However,
President Johnson was completely against it and vetoed the Freedmen s Bureau Bill. He said it
would make the government too big. He also vetoed the Civil Rights Bill. Many Republicans were

Sign Language Research Paper
Around this same period in Europe, there were hearing people that began to be fascinated with
the ability that Deaf people could communicate with each other using their own home signs.
With this same fascination in America lived a man named Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet. He met a
girl named Alice Cogswell, who was Deaf and was able to teach her a few words. According to
Gallaudet University s website it says that he not knowing sign language, Thomas attempted to
communicate with Alice by pointing to his hat and writing H A T in the dirt. She understood
him and he was inspired to teach her more (Gallaudet University). Thomas decided that to further
his understanding of sign language, he would benefit by traveling to Europe to learn from
educators there about how to educate people who were Deaf. There he found a man named Abe
Sicard who was the director for the school for the Deaf in Paris. Another pupil who worked along
side Sicard was Laurent Clerc. After some time acquiring French Sign Language, Thomas was able

Theme Of Loss In The Remains Of The Day
The two novels The Remains of the Day and Atonement both illustrate the theme of loss and grief
throughout their novel. In my own words the definition of loss is described as losing someone or
something, and the definition of grief is described as how someone reacts to a loss. Whether it s
through anger, guilt, sadness, or restraint. In the novels each character expressed their emotions in
diverse ways when dealing with loss and grief. In the novel The Remains of the Day Stevens loses
his father, Miss Kenton loses her aunt, Lord Darlington loses friends and his godson, Stevens and

their profession was more important. Differently, in Atonement Cecilia was the daughter of the of

Persuasive Essay On Trapped In America
Trapped in America For an American citizen my freedom is determined by the government,
making me question if I am truly free. Arguably many Americans have a political dispute over
our free, if our country is free or not. No doubt, I am by the side that thinks we aren t free. We
aren t even close to being free, we aren t a country who based our idea of being free and let
people come into our country to feel safe and to feel at home. The land of the free and the home
of the brave (Francis Scott Key) is the national anthem, it is saying men and women are free and
we are a strong country that doesn t give up on each other. In fact, we aren t even the top 15th
freest country in the world, that should mean something. As a country we say we are free, yet
they re the people that control us says a different meaning. Above all we made this a free
country and a place to call home . Strangely enough, we left Britain because the King had the
power to overrule anyone, he was powerful and our people needed to leave. As a result, we
needed a place where you control yourself, and do what makes you happy without all the intense
power of the king. We now have come back to the overpowering ruling from someone around
you. Now we will always have someone that control you like your parents, your grandparents,
your teachers, and your boss . Similar to people is the objects that control us like money and guns.
We will never obtain back the freedom we once had because we will never have the

Diphenyltetrazolium Bromide Lab Report
2.10. MTT Assay 3 [4,5 dimethylthiazol 2 yl]2,5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) is a yellow
water soluble tetrazolium salt. A mitochondrial enzyme in living cells, succinate dehydrogenase,
cleaves the tetrazolium ring, converting the MTT to an insoluble purple formazan. Therefore, the
amount of formazan produced is directly proportional to the number of viable cells. After 48 h of
incubation, 15 L of MTT (5 mg/mL) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) was added to each well
and incubated at 37ЛљC for 4 h. The medium with MTT was then flicked off and the formed
formazan crystals were solubilized in 100 l of DMSO and then measured the absorbance at 570 nm

A New Form Of Leadership
Paul Ryan, current Speaker of the House, holds an antithetic leadership style to solve issues in
the future of congress. However, it is not a new form of leadership we have seen in politics. Paul
Ryan is a Republican and the Republicans do currently have power in the Senate and House of
Representatives. Clearly though, the Republican Party is divided and struggles to solve current
issues in congress. Currently this is due to collective action issues such as, the need for
information, time, and coordination currently in Republican Party. What Paul Ryan has done to
solve these issues so far is, unify republicans, and at the same time solve collective action issues
and other problems thus far by giving congressional committees the power to achieve these
issues. The history of Congressional power from 1890 to present day has varied from strong
individuals, to strong committees. From 1890 to about 1910 the speaker would heavily
influence the House of Representatives. Speakers had the power to appoint the committees to
chairs, and had control of legislative agenda s. But in 1910, a revolt had happened against
Speaker Joe Cannon. Power shifted to the committees whose leaders were based on seniority.
From the 1920 s to the 1970 s party influence was very weak and this was known as the era of
committee government. Beginning in the 1970 s preferences of the party and its members became
more similar. They did not have to be as concerned with the leader s preferences, because it would

Anolis Lizards Essay
Ecological Speciation in Anolis Lizards
Adaptive radiation of different organisms have occurred throughout geological time through the
filling of ecological niches. Organisms different from one another are capable of radiating greatly,
as they evolve traits that allow them to thrive better in their environment. The Anolis lizards of the
Caribbean islands are a great example of a single genus to have radiated not once, but multiple times
through very similar mechanisms. Different populations of the Anolis phenotypically vary in their
morphological traits to facilitate adaptation to particular niches. These phenotypic variations have
evolved in convergence in more than one occasion, as recently discovered fossil specimens show
similar patterns in morphology to modern Anolis.
Anolis as a Model Organism. Anolis is a primary example used in evolutionary studies in
diversification. Nicholson et al. (2005) show that their existence on the islands has resulted from
single colonization events (p. 935). After a population settles on an island, the lizards begin to
specialize in habitats and fill unoccupied niches. Subpopulations that correspond to each niche ...

As seen with Anolis, single species of organisms have the ability to undergo adaptive radiation and
become new species by filling niches in a given environment. This is prevalent not only in Anolis,
but other model organisms as well, such as finches, sticklebacks, and cichlids. All of these
organisms have gone through the similar mechanisms and processes to evolve into different
species. Alike to Anolis, they have gone through reproductive isolation, adaptation, and convergent
evolution. Due to a poor fossil record of Anolis, the other model organisms may give better outlook
on how they have diverged overtime. Further investigations on all of these organisms and their
evolutionary mechanisms would not only give better a better idea of ecological speciation, but
more comprehension on the origin of all

Puberty Rites Of Passage
In many cultures around the world, ceremonies are held or rituals are undergone to mark the
passage of adolescents into adulthood. These are known as rites of passage. Rites of passage, is a
term first coined by Arnold Van Gennep in 1909 to describe the universal transition of adolescents
by maturational progression, a phenomenon that is cross cultural (Gibson, 2007). Indeed, the term
puberty rites and rite of passagecan be used interchangeably. Because puberty is an experience all
humans have, the rite of passage may reflect cultural evolution as co occurring with bodily
changes (Weisfeld ,1997, as cited by Gibson, 2007). Rites of passage can also signify changes of
status in other stages of life, and these transitions seem to be demarcated... Show more content on

It is theorized that the adolescent rite of passage has lost its importance because of a change in
focus from communal concerns to individuality, or exposure to varied belief systems (Gibson,
2007). Some youth, who lack the completion of these semblances of rites, create their own
through activities such as the use of substances, body modification, or gang initiation (Sande,
2002; Vigil, 1996; Wall, n.d., as cited by Gibson, 2007). A possible reason for the fading of formal
rites, is a societal move away from the importance of sexual maturity for reproduction reasons to a
society that instead imbues status for financial and vocational gains (Gibson,

Diluted EPS = (net income preferred dividends) / (weighted average number of common shares

Since there is not enough information to calculate the increment in common shares, the diluted EPS
cannot be proved in this case.
6. Explain the earnings per share amount that you would recommend an investor should use to

(page 66) I would recommend an investor use the diluted EPS. For investors, it is important to
value the business assuming all possible dilution that can take place will take place. According to
the 10 K, the amount of exercised stock option is quite large annually, which means the increment
in common shares is considerable. Using the diluted EPS will help the investor to evaluate the
Company in a big picture.
7. How much would the diluted earnings per share be if the stock price were high enough to make

in its voyage of progress and civilization. All the natural resources are contaminated with lethal

Without Visible Permanent Deformation Of A New Guardrail
without visible permanent deformation. This load requirement is applied at any point
distributed over 50 millimeters from any direction. Also, if the guardrail is a flexible barrier
such as chain or cable than it should not deflect from the minimum force or 1,000 Newtons as
well. This load is applied more than 80 millimeters from the normal undeflected position of the
flexible barrier. Also, the standards state that fixed guardrails can be replaced by retractable
guardrails or handrails or handholds to make transporting from jobsite to jobsite easier
(Standardization, 2011). These standards give the team a specific set of dimension and load
constraints for the design of a new guardrail. The dimensions of the guardrail the team is designing
shouldn t be much different than the current design. The team believes the load requirement will
be the biggest requirement to meet, since the current design is failing from vibration loads. This
set of standards states that the replacement of a fixed guardrail for a retractable guardrail is
allowed. This states that the purpose of the project follows the international standards; the only
difference is the project is called a collapsible guardrail. Expected Results/ Outcome Expectations
Determining how a project will turn out is somewhat puzzling when looking at the big picture.

American Frontier Thesis Statement

1)Turner s Frontier Thesis is an argument that was formed by the American frontier however it was
developed in Chicago in 1893 by Frederick Jackson Turner, an American Historian. In the thesis, the
American frontier established liberty by freeing Americans from the European mindset and
customs. Turner s Frontier thesis quickly became popular amongst scholars and intellectuals. It
emphasized the importance on how the frontier shaped America and its characteristics, in the
abundance of free land, individualism, mobility, and materialism.

businessmen who were involved in immortal and ruthless business practices. They would gain
large amounts of profits by paying their employee s very low wages. They drove out their

Physical And Cultural Themes Of Geography Throughout The...
Geography is the mother of sciences . (Wickramaratne, 2015) Geography studies the physical and
cultural characteristics of different places and how they affect one another. Geography is
considered a social and physical science and is taught in classrooms throughout the United States.
Geography is taught in hope that someone can see the meaning in the arrangement of things on
Earths surface and be able to see relations between people, places, and environments, who uses
geographic skills, and who applies spatial and ecological perspectives to life situations. (Heffron
Downs, 2012) When Geographyis being taught it is broken down into five themes: location, place,
human earth interaction, movement, and regions.

Human Earth interaction uses two main ideas, accessibility and connectivity. Accessibility is how
easily we can reach other places, but connectivity is the way places remain connected: roads, train
tracks, telephone lines. Transportation and technology has made traveling between cities easier
allowing trade and movement to be possible on larger scale. Movement studies people s ability to
transport goods and themselves around the earth and to what impact. Globalization is making
movement more rapid. People connect and interact with each other and their environments in an
instant; allowing new technologies and fashions the ability to move around the world with a push
of a button. Many trends will start in one region and make their way to another allowing movement
to be created.
Regions are areas that have consistent characteristics by no fixed boundaries. Regions can include
deserts, countries, fairs, grocery stores and all different types of areas. There are four types of
regions geographers use to describe areas: administrative, formal, functional, and perceptual.
Administrative regions are dictated by the rules and laws of the land. States boundaries are defined

London Is The Most Eclectic Megalopolis Of The West
Unusually, I was a late subscriber to the idea of observing deeply into the capital s wonders;
London is possibly the most eclectic megalopolis of the West, it stirs ambition like no other
place, in some professional sectors it s like swimming against the tide if you re not registered in
London. Realistically for me, it probably was six years ago, when I took note of what London
urbanity offers, before then, I was probably too busy, fatigued and self orientated to allow London
a laborious thought in the early noughties; I recall, it took a nudge from famous authors who
resided in the capital, such as Iain Sinclair, J.G. Ballard and Hanif Kureishi, to name a few, who
systematically embraced the capitalwithin their creative works. Their savoir faire wordage spurred
me on to experience London with fresh eyes; I owe much to their observations, they introduced me
to London s identities just enough, so you can muster your own observations and prose. The
process was like peering through a keyhole at collective humanism entirely unique to the voyeur.
For London truly is a collaboration of creativity and creed, to state the City has one identity stroke
congruence is veraciously wrong. London is that versatile, it has a plethora of characteristics, rich
in detail, purpose and belonging; why everyone has an opinion whatever the experience, London
demands respect. Author: Craig Taylortakes this analogy a step further and in the book: Londoners;

Georgia Settlement
The Reasons for the Settlement of Georgia By: Tirth Patel When James Oglethorpe came to
Georgia, he had an idea to make a settlement. In this settlement, he wanted to have a good
defense, economy, and charity. Out of these reasons for the settlement, only two of them
succeeded. Georgia had a good economy and a good defense. Georgia had a good economy,
because of Georgia s trading industry. Georgia s defense was great, because of it was the military
buffer between Florida and South Carolina. The one thing that didn t succeed in Georgia was
charity. This did not work, because when the poor people of England came, they couldn t pay their
taxes, therefore they were locked up and never lived in the new colony they were promised.

The economy worked well, because of mercantilism. Mercantilism was a good thing for Georgia,
because of Savannah s port. At Savannah s port, all kinds of people would come and trade for
some of the main items in Georgia like wine, rice, indigo, silk, and tobacco. In the first passage,
it said, The first settlers brought silk and wine grapes, hoping that the climate would be amenable
to the framing of both. This states that the silk and wine grapes succeeded and helped Georgia s
economy thrive. The economy also exceeded because the native Americans would trade deerskins
and other items to the merchants. Britain also took raw goods and produced, manufactured items
which they would ship back to Georgia to use and trade. In the second passage, it said, England
economically benefit through the natural resources and raw materials that were sent by. This
proves that England took the resources from Georgia. In conclusion, only two of the reasons for
the colonization of Georgia were accomplished. Georgia succeeded in having a good defense and
economy. The defense of Georgia was strong, mainly, because it was the military buffer between
Florida and South Carolina. It was also great because it made treaties with the local native
Americans and Georgia had plenty of fortifications. Georgia had a thriving economy, because of
mercantilism. Mercantilism was a big part of Georgia s economy, because of the port of Savannah.

be communicated. It also involves many conversations across the institution to allow me to get a
sense of where the campus community is in terms of these priorities
I would ask a series of questions including:
1. Does it know what they are? 2. Does it support them or does it need further understanding of the
priorities?
3. What concerns might it have regarding the priorities?
4. What excites it about the priorities?

a.Local By loca,l I mean the university. What development would benefit me as the provost of
Capital University? As the portfolio includes Student Affairs, The Law School and the soon to be
merged Seminary, I would look for development opportunities that guide a provost in leading in
these areas, such as NASPA conferences that focus on Student and Academic Affairs partnerships.
Other opportunities I would pursue would involve creating a network of colleagues with similar
portfolios with whom we could exchange ideas.
b.Regional To be the most effective Provost for Capital University, I need to become familiar with
Columbus and Ohio in terms of the higher education landscape, and the business and governmental
environment. This would help me position Capital and its students in the best position and
contribute to Capital s visibility. Therefore, I would seek membership and participation in local and

Significance Of Tattoos
Origin of tattoos
Many people all over the world have been marking their bodies for thousands of years. The word
tattoo may have two meanings; a verb or a noun, whereby as a verb it means the act of marking
the skin with indelible ink whereas tattoo as a noun refers to the picture or a pattern made. A
person who puts tattoos is called a tattoo artist, tattooist or a tattoer and the shop where he operates
is called tattoo parlor/shop.
The word tattoo is said to be a loanword from Polynesians (Tahitians) which had various spellings
such as tatu, tattow, ta tu, tatao which means to mark something. It is believed that this word was
brought to England during Captain Cook s voyages from Tahiti where he got introduced to tattoos.
Egyptians are the earliest known people known to put tattoos on their bodies. This dates back to
2000 B.C. where female ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example; tattoos were used by women in Bomeo for purposes of getting a suitor. These women
would put marks on their forearms showing the skill they were good at and thus attracting men who
would later marry them.
In Greece, tattoos were used as a form of communication; by use of tattoos spies were easily
identified. While in Rome, people who became criminals would be marked or tattooed so that
they could be easily picked from the rest of the people and the same would be done to slaves. In
Western Asia, mainly among the people of Ainu; the use of tattoos was a way of showing ones
status in the society for example girls and married women would easily be distinguished.
The Japanese also embraced use of tattoos especially on criminals where there was a certain mark
for the first offense which was a line on the criminal s forehead. They would then put an arch for
second offense and another line for the third one which was the last one. It was a visible mark of
punishment which would be seen by

So when the firm done correctly to identify fixed and variable cost, it can do CVP analysis
correctly and manager can used the correct CVP analysis to make decision making.
2. In graph Cost are in straight line
Assume that fixed cost no change in any of range. Variable Cost is proportional and parallel to
the line revenue. So in the reality cost of behaviour not remain constant. It mean when we do
CVP analysis we must assume a straight line (constants) so when do a calculation it easy to
calculate the cost and make analysis. For example if we see in graph the cost is curve line it hard
to calculate the cost if the cost is out of range from the graph. So that why we must assume in
straight line so it easy to calculate and identify the cost even it out of range in graph.
3. Price is fixed for every volume was purchase/selling ( selling price/direct material)
When buy a lot of item, item we buy was offering/make a discount. These make a problem to
determine contribution margin ratio. Example normally when we buy/sell a lot of item we can
receive/give discount. Event we know that it hard to calculate when price always changes base on
the quantity item of we buy/sell. So in order to make easy calculation we must make assumption
fixed price every volume was purchase and selling and ignore the cost that give effect the change in
price and volume.
4. Variable cost is fix per unit not calculated based on volume produce
So when it calculated per unit it hard to

Essay On Apollo 11
In 1969, the United States were the first to accomplish the feat of successfully landing a man on
the moon. In the Apollo 11 mission, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Buzz Aldrin were the first men to
land on the moon. After World War II, another war started, which was the Cold War. The Cold War
pitted the United States and the Soviet Union against each other, thus leading to the two countries
fighting and competing for superiority, which eventually becomes a race for space. In 1959, the
Soviet Union launched Luna 2, which was the first space probe to hit the moon. Then, later in
1961, the Soviet Yuri Gagarin was the first person to orbit the Earth in the Votstok 1. Due to these
accomplishments by the Soviet Union, President John F. Kennedy boldly promised the public that

The reason for the lack of stars is similar to why we cannot see stars during the daytime it s because
of the sun s light. Due to the moon lacking an atmosphere, even during the day the sky is pitch
black (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/debunking myth that moon landing was hoax 1457501). Also, an
article in The Telegraph, Apollo 11Moon landing: conspiracy theories debunked , the Apollo
landing took place during lunar mornings, which resulted in the Sun shining brightly. With the
moon s surface, sun, and the black sky, the stars are simply not bright enough to be captured in
photographs. Another reason for the lack of stars is the exposure time settings on the cameras used
for the moon landing. The cameras were using fast exposure settings, approximately 1/150th or 1
/250th of a second, which would have limited any background light to appear in photographs. (http:/

The East India Company ( Eic )
A corporation, as defined by the Business Dictionary, is a Firm that meets certain legal
requirements to be recognized as having a legal existence, as an entity separate and distinct
from its owners. One of the earliest known corporations was the East India company (EIC),
receiving its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, in 1600, which granted it the right to
incorporate during a time when most people were either sole proprietors or in partnerships. The
EIC was a charter company whose most lucrative commodity was tea, opium and textiles. Their
power and influence was unparalleled and unyielding, acting as a governing authority in places
with weak or no governments. By taking control of the Bengal opium industry, they were able to
trade opium for tea in China, using the excess gains to buy textiles in Bengal and use them to
trade for slaves in Africa, which ultimately they sold for gold in America. These army backed
bandits were above the law and beneath the bailout. By the time of their eventual demise, the
world had changed and laws were put into place to prevent another EIC era, which better fit
Ambrose Bierce s Devil s Dictionary description of a corporationas, an ingenious device for
obtaining profit without individual responsibility .
Introduction
In this essay, I will discuss the basic requirements for starting a business corporation in China, and
do the same for both India and the United States. I will further identify the level of complexity of the

Kluckhohn and Strodbeck’s Value Model
Abstract: Culture is the holistic interrelationship of a group s identity, beliefs, values, activities,
rules, customs, communication patterns, and institutions. (Dodd, 1998) Values are important
components of a given culture accepted by individuals sharing that culture. They are deep and
hidden elements of the cultural iceberg that are seldom questioned or defended but can reflect
different characteristics of different cultures. Kluckhohn and Strodbeck s valuemodel is used here to
analyze distinct Chinese and American culture. Key words:culture; values; Kluckhohn and
Strodbeck s value model; Chinese and American culture

In the Bible story of Adam and Eve, God throws them out of the Garden of Eden because they ate
the fruit from the Tree of knowledge. But with modernism came a sense that progress improves
the world and the people in it, and actually already with Puritanism came the work ethic which in
a sense suggested that if a person works hard he can overcome his sinful nature as stated in busy
hands make for good morals and idle hands are the devil s opportunity . Democratic and
educational ideals also work toward the improvement of mankind. (Kulich, personal email to the
author, 2007) So Americans have changed to seeing humans as a mixture of good and evil despite
that the traditional belief continues to flourish, for example among fundamentalist Christians who
follow the Bible in their daily life. Influenced by the teachings of Confucius, The Chinese people
believe that people are born pure and innocent. Humans nature is good and the corruption only
begins when people grow and are affected by society. In order to prevent the corruption, parents,
teachers and other related persons are obligated to set up good examples for their protГ©gГ©s and
educate them. So from a Chinese point of view, ideally there are humans who are perfect

The office was around a 50/50 mix of male and female staff. The call centre was a high pressure
job and quite a stressful atmosphere. Tempers would often boil however there never seemed to be
any lasting conflict until on an occasion after a works dinner party.
Two ladies wished to sit near one of the managers, the manager was unaware of this. As everyone
took their seats at the tables, only one of the ladies was able to sit at the same table as the
manager. The lady who was not able to sit on the manager s table became quite upset and the
following day at work refused to speak to the other girl. All the colleagues in the office who were
aware of the situation did not pay too much attention to the dispute as

To get to that withdrawal period the person must stop taking the drug they have been on. Whether the person quits in a day or three months later, that person would still have to go through that withdrawal period. This is similar to a teen starting to drive for the first time. The reasons why I think that the drivingage limit shouldn t be changed is because people can still, get around the rules by waiting until the age of eighteen to avoid the restrictions, the number of driver fatalities are decreasing majorly, and because the number of crashes wouldn t diminish it would only put off the effect. For instance, Delaying something from starting (much like the drug addict getting clean) won t change much of anything (unless learned more about the subject of matter). How does William Wordsworth s poetry fit into the literary tradition of Romanticism? A. Romantic poetry was an artistic movement of the late 18th and early 19th century. It dealt with nature, human imagination, childhood and the ability to recall emotional memories of both happiness and sadness. Before Wordsworth began writing his revolutionary new style of poetry, all preceding poetry had a very different style. The reason these poems were classed as revolutionary was because he believed that romantic poetry should describe incidents of common life and ordinary people and were written in deliberately plain words. This fits into Romanticism by including most of the main features. It deals with human feelings and how Susan is sad. It includes memories and the use of imagination. It also shows probably the most important feature, which is a love of nature. We see that Susan feels truly happy surrounded by hills and pastures. We also see this in Wordsworth s most famous and well known poem Daffodils . Wordsworth thought of his poetry as originating in emotion recollected in tranquillity . His memories were memories of strong feelings of happiness brought about by something or some landscape connected to the nature. In Daffodils , we again see all the features that make this poem fit into the tradition of Romanticism and Romantic Poetry. Wordsworth describes nature and says how beautiful it is and the beauty he sees when he looks at the daffodils. when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils . He also uses his imagination to see the daffodils almost as human beings. He describes their movements as, and compares

Minorities, particularly African Americans, are generally overrepresented in the criminal justice system both as offenders and as victims. According to the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) for 2003, African Americans (who were 12.7 percent of the population in 2003) were arrested for 37 percent of violent crimes (murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault) and 29 percent of property crime(102:288). • 14. The Human Body Cope With Stress I am someone who is deeply interested in studying the human condition as it ranges in response to a variety of life experiences and stressors. Humans respond to stress differently and largely as a function of their environmental context. The many ways in which the systems of the human body cope with stress can influence long term health and developmental outcomes that may even cross over into subsequent generations. Much of my curiosity in learning about human development stems from my own family background. In fact, my parents are refugees from the country of Eritrea; they fled from the Eritrean Ethiopian civil war as the people of Eritrea fought for their independence from Ethiopian rule. My parents, along with thousands of others, sought political asylum and eventually found refuge in the United States. My parents recount their experiences of having to stealthily travel from camp to camp and entering neighboring countries that forced them to assimilate for the sake of their safety and survival. Currently, Eritrea continues to experience a outflux of its citizens by the thousands as they attempt to escape the despotism in government that currently plagues the land. The experiences of my parents and the countless other immigrants of Eritrea motivate me so strongly to focus and draw parallels to the current experiences of people who have been directly impacted by the crisis in Syria. O Brien reveals the lack of autonomy throughout the war by expressing his discontent with the draft and the moral confrontation of fighting in the war. One example of this would be when O Brien was speaking with The Chaplain Edward about his quality of life as a soldier where the chaplain asks about the cafeteria servings almost ironically(pg.55), and O Brien goes on to explain the physical and emotional trauma he has endured in the process of the war and the ... Naylor explains this, chicken or the egg dispute (Naylor 1) through her experiences with the word nigger. Gloria explains how she starts on one side of reality and shaping her language, then comes to another understanding from the boy in her third grade class. Language can be how words are used, what their meaning is and the purpose behind that selection of words. Reality is everyday life and experiences. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An instance of her exemplification is by calling someone a, trifling nigger (Naylor 2) is to say that person has a bad reputation of being drunk, foul or rude. Calling another person that name may be demeaning to their reputation but in no way does it discriminate against them racially. A second exemplifying definition is the possessive adjective use by a woman to her boyfriend or husband. When that woman calls her man my nigger (Naylor 2) it means a term of endearment or a compliment. By defining a word specifically one can alter the meaning and the reality of that word through language while excluding prejudice. Although exemplification plays a big role in proving Naylor s ideas, refutation backs up the examples and adds more content. Through instances of refutation she proves a great deal of supportive information to establish her ideas effectiveness by softening opposing opinions. Gloria shows refutation by exemplification of definitions that have no racial prejudice and how those accepted definitions from her family modeled her language. Another example of a definition used in the family is when talking about approval of a trait. In the passage the speaker says, I m telling you, that nigger pulled in $6,000 of overtime last year. The land of the free and the home of the brave (Francis Scott Key) is the national anthem, it is saying men and women are free and we are a strong country that doesn t give up on each other. In fact, we aren t even the top 15th freest country in the world, that should mean something. As a country we say we are free, yet they re the people that control us says a different meaning. Above all we made this a free country and a place to call home . Strangely enough, we left Britain because the King had the power to overrule anyone, he was powerful and our people needed to leave. As a result, we needed a place where you control yourself, and do what makes you happy without all the intense power of the king. We now have come back to the overpowering ruling from someone around you. Now we will always have someone that control you like your parents, your grandparents, your teachers, and your boss . Similar to people is the objects that control us like money and guns. We will never obtain back the freedom we once had because we will never have the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. A New Form Of Leadership Paul Ryan, current Speaker of the House, holds an antithetic leadership style to solve issues in the future of congress. However, it is not a new form of leadership we have seen in politics. Paul Ryan is a Republican and the Republicans do currently have power in the Senate and House of Representatives. Clearly though, the Republican Party is divided and struggles to solve current issues in congress. Currently this is due to collective action issues such as, the need for information, time, and coordination currently in Republican Party. What Paul Ryan has done to solve these issues so far is, unify republicans, and at the same time solve collective action issues and other problems thus far by giving congressional committees the power to achieve these issues. The history of Congressional power from 1890 to present day has varied from strong individuals, to strong committees. From 1890 to about 1910 the speaker would heavily influence the House of Representatives. Speakers had the power to appoint the committees to chairs, and had control of legislative agenda s. But in 1910, a revolt had happened against Speaker Joe Cannon. Power shifted to the committees whose leaders were based on seniority. From the 1920 s to the 1970 s party influence was very weak and this was known as the era of committee government. Beginning in the 1970 s preferences of the party and its members became more similar. They did not have to be as concerned with the leader s preferences, because it would ... • 26. Anolis Lizards Essay Ecological Speciation in Anolis Lizards Adaptive radiation of different organisms have occurred throughout geological time through the filling of ecological niches. Organisms different from one another are capable of radiating greatly, as they evolve traits that allow them to thrive better in their environment. The Anolis lizards of the Caribbean islands are a great example of a single genus to have radiated not once, but multiple times through very similar mechanisms. Different populations of the Anolis phenotypically vary in their morphological traits to facilitate adaptation to particular niches. These phenotypic variations have evolved in convergence in more than one occasion, as recently discovered fossil specimens show similar patterns in morphology to modern Anolis. Anolis as a Model Organism. Anolis is a primary example used in evolutionary studies in diversification. Nicholson et al. (2005) show that their existence on the islands has resulted from single colonization events (p. 935). All of these organisms have gone through the similar mechanisms and processes to evolve into different species. These are known as rites of passage. Rites of passage, is a term first coined by Arnold Van Gennep in 1909 to describe the universal transition of adolescents by maturational progression, a phenomenon that is cross cultural (Gibson, 2007). Indeed, the term puberty rites and rite of passagecan be used interchangeably. Because puberty is an experience all humans have, the rite of passage may reflect cultural evolution as co occurring with bodily changes (Weisfeld ,1997, as cited by Gibson, 2007). So when the firm done correctly to identify fixed and variable cost, it can do CVP analysis correctly and manager can used the correct CVP analysis to make decision making. 2. In graph Cost are in straight line Assume that fixed cost no change in any of range. Variable Cost is proportional and parallel to the line revenue. So in the reality cost of behaviour not remain constant. It mean when we do CVP analysis we must assume a straight line (constants) so when do a calculation it easy to calculate the cost and make analysis. For example if we see in graph the cost is curve line it hard to calculate the cost if the cost is out of range from the graph. So that why we must assume in straight line so it easy to calculate and identify the cost even it out of range in graph. 3. Price is fixed for every volume was purchase/selling ( selling price/direct material) When buy a lot of item, item we buy was offering/make a discount. These make a problem to determine contribution margin ratio. Example normally when we buy/sell a lot of item we can receive/give discount. • 46. The East India Company ( Eic ) A corporation, as defined by the Business Dictionary, is a Firm that meets certain legal requirements to be recognized as having a legal existence, as an entity separate and distinct from its owners. One of the earliest known corporations was the East India company (EIC), receiving its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, in 1600, which granted it the right to incorporate during a time when most people were either sole proprietors or in partnerships. The EIC was a charter company whose most lucrative commodity was tea, opium and textiles. Their power and influence was unparalleled and unyielding, acting as a governing authority in places with weak or no governments. By taking control of the Bengal opium industry, they were able to trade opium for tea in China, using the excess gains to buy textiles in Bengal and use them to trade for slaves in Africa, which ultimately they sold for gold in America. These army backed bandits were above the law and beneath the bailout. By the time of their eventual demise, the world had changed and laws were put into place to prevent another EIC era, which better fit Ambrose Bierce s Devil s Dictionary description of a corporationas, an ingenious device for obtaining profit without individual responsibility . Introduction In this essay, I will discuss the basic requirements for starting a business corporation in China, and do the same for both India and the United States. I will further identify the level of complexity of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
