Oskar Schindler Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Oskar Schindler is a challenging endeavor that requires a
meticulous blend of historical research, empathy, and critical analysis. Schindler's life is a
complex tapestry woven with threads of heroism, moral ambiguity, and the grim backdrop of the
Holocaust. To encapsulate his multifaceted character, one must delve into the extensive historical
archives, primary sources, and various perspectives on Schindler's actions.
Understanding the historical context is imperative. The essay should navigate the intricacies of
World War II, the rise of the Nazi regime, and the atrocities of the Holocaust. Comprehending
Schindler's motivations and the ethical dilemmas he faced adds another layer of difficulty.
Balancing the portrayal of Schindler as a savior while acknowledging the moral complexities
surrounding his character demands a nuanced approach.
Furthermore, addressing the impact of Schindler's actions on the lives of the Jewish individuals
he saved necessitates a delicate and empathetic touch. An exploration of the survivors'
testimonies, coupled with a thorough analysis of Schindler's legacy, enhances the essay's depth
and authenticity.
Analyzing Schindler's List, both the book and the film, provides an additional layer of
complexity. Evaluating how these artistic representations capture the essence of Oskar
Schindler's story requires a keen understanding of the medium and its potential biases.
In the conclusion, synthesizing the myriad aspects of Oskar Schindler's life, actions, and legacy
poses a formidable challenge. Striking a balance between admiration and critical reflection is
crucial, as is leaving room for the reader to grapple with the moral implications of Schindler's
choices.
In essence, writing an essay on Oskar Schindler demands meticulous research, ethical sensitivity,
and a keen understanding of historical nuance. It is not merely a recounting of facts but a
thoughtful exploration of humanity's capacity for both darkness and redemption. The complexity
of the subject matter necessitates a careful and considerate approach to do justice to Oskar
Schindler's profound and intricate story.

Saussure saw a sense of purpose that comes when there is an association or
relationship between the forms of a Marker with an idea. Whereby a Marker is a
meaningful sound or graffiti that is a mental picture or concept. Semiotics creates a
meaning which the object, not only contains the complex information, but also
carries emotional impact for the audience. Human senses will catch the signal and
then pull the impression to the brain, which leads to a conclusion of subjective
meanings, depending on the perspective of each audience (Desamba 2011). Semiotics
is an investigation into how meaning is created and how meaning is communicated.
Its origins lie in the academic study of how signs and symbols, both visual and
linguistic, create meaning (Signsalad n.d.). Our actions and thoughts, or what we do
automatically, are often governed by a complex set of cultural messages and
conventions, dependent on our ability to interpret them instinctively and instantly.
For instance, when we see the different colours of a traffic light, we automatically
know how to react to them. We know this without even thinking about it. But this is
sign which has been established by cultural convention over a long period of time
and which we learn as children, requiring a great deal of unconscious cultural
knowledge to understand its meaning. Everyone is a Semiotician,

Answer: REBT stands for Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy is much the same
as CBT. It was developed by the psychologist Albert Ellis and it works by focusing
on helping clients change irrational beliefs. He identified 12 common beliefs amongst

2.The need to achieve at everything in all respects or else one is inadequate, or a

The Contributions Of Avicenna And The Modern-Day
Psychology
Avicenna was a Persian Muslim philosopher who lived during the period between
980 1037 AD. Apparently, he also doubled up as a physician whose expertise made
him attract patients even from far flung places. Consequently, Avicenna s education
background could be traced from his formative years when he undertook religious
education that was Islamic oriented. On the same note, the renowned physician and
philosopher underwent through the system of secular education that enabled him to
have an early grasp of the following vital subjects: dialects, arithmetic, geometry,
grammar, and astronomy (Alachkar, 2016). His scholarship skills were evident at an
early age when he effortlessly learned the Quran by rote before his 10th birthday.
Avicenna s father recognized his son s potential, and he took the unprecedented step
of hiring a tutor for him. Al Natili who was the hired Avicenna s tutor taught the
young tutor the subjects of astronomy, logic, and geometry using the most intensified
approach so that he could have a deep grasp on the said disciplines. Avicenna later
studied medicineand the news about his prowess spread the whole of Persia (Ivry,
2012).
Contribution
Despite Avicenna not being a professional psychologist by his right, he made
immense contributions in the psychology field. In fact, some of the contribution that
Avicenna made as far as psychology is concerned, formed the foundation in which
the modern day psychology is developed after (Bertolacci, 2014). Avicenna s

To explore an even bigger spectrum, third world countries such as Africa also
includes some of these factors in giving health care. Health care involves many
factors when it comes to rural areas because of the differences among people. To
consider these factors, in conclusion, it contains solutions on addressing these
factors, such as educating the public. 3 Introduction Everyone deserves quality
health care, whether you live in an urban setting or a rural. For those that live in a
rural area, there are many factors that could play a role in health care. Rural areas
are places that are located outside of a city or town. Only about ten percent of
physicians practice in rural America despite the fact that nearly one fourth of the
population lives in these areas (National Rural Health Association). These country
like places lack health care. Some examples could be Molokai as a rural island of
Hawaii, or North Carolina in the United States, and of course third world countries
such as Africa. Depending on the situation and culture of each specific area, factors
may vary. The most important basic factors to consider while giving health care in a
rural area are living conditions, economic situations, transportation, and religious
views. Factors Living Conditions Rural areas are considered country and usually don
t have the resources that cities and towns contain. Living conditions can reach
extreme measures. In some rural areas, they

Introduction Values are the things that you believe are important in the way you

probably the measures you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it
to. The following values are the ones that resonate with me. These are the top
priorities for me to live to pass along to my children and everyone in my life:
a.Honesty. To live genuinely; to live honesty, keeps our hearts and souls pure and our
minds free of uncertainty or vulnerability. When we are honest, we know we are
doing the correct things. b.Responsibility. Being responsible implies that others can

Kant is a non consequentialist, meaning the end results do not justify the means.
Higher profits do not justify the choice to deceive. Kant mentioned that nothing is
good in itself except good will. I will not be acting from good will if I decided to be
deceitful. Even though the organization s main end goal is to maximize profit,
human s lives do not have a price. An organization should never forget that it exists
because of its individuals. I would not use people as a means to an end and not to

rain forest is now permanent. The area is located on the Pacific Coast of British

Great Bear Rainforest, and according to the report, represents the largest tracts of
intact temperate rainforest on Earth. The forest has a complex mixture of oceans,
mountains, fjord, old forest, and salmon streams. A rarity amongst rain forest on

In the Odyssey, men and women experienced different degrees of power. Gender
heavily influenced the actions the characters committed to and the roles available to
them in Ithaca. Men proudly served in combative roles to engage in serious and
informational moments. Their presence was crucial to protect and promote courage,
loyalty, civilization, and the legacy of their society. Meanwhile, women primarily
assisted men in accomplishing their goals. In this work, men were heroes and the
women were simply their partners.
The adventures and trials the comrades encountered confirmed their dedication to
return home and their competence to kill opponents of their sacred ideology. The

This specific statement highlights his strength and refusal to submit to anything less
than victory. In addition to his spirit, he was significantly clever especially in his
notable confrontation with the monster, Cyclops. He escaped from Cyclops
stronghold by using available resources and a creative idea to intoxicate and subdue
him. Subsequently, he was forced to travel along rough, deadly winds on the fish
infested sea and land of the Lotus eaters (Homer, 173). Odysseus was truly never at a
loss or backed in a corner for a prolonged time (Homer, 157). It was his responses to
consecutive strenuous experiences that enabled his comrades to respect, admire, and
trust him. Odysseus was the ultimate standard due to optimistic disposition during
harsh times.
Odysseus was rightfully qualified to lead his comrades. The best man represented
the land and their ideology. Homer stated Odysseus objective was to save his life
and bring his comrades home (Homer, 152). Odysseus prepared his men as efficiently
as he could. He provided them with imperative encouragement, Courage no panic, no
one hang back now! (Homer, 180). It was not uncommon for men to hesitate their
involvement in battle. Odysseus was present to remind them of the reasons they were
surviving and fighting, which was to return home. The comrades confided in him.
They sincerely declared, You are the best on earth, they say, when it comes to

The Trash Sample
Within the trash sample I analyzed there were around 234 items thrown away within
a week s period. Many of the items thrown away were thrown away in pairs
suggesting that two people live in the dwelling that the sample was taken in. Some
examples of items thrown away in pairs include, Starbucks cups, church bulletins, and
Bounty paper towels. Bounty paper products, napkins and paper towels, show up on
the record 24 times, suggesting that Bounty paper products are used over three times
per day, corresponding with meals. Other brands that show up in the sample often
include Green Giant, four times, Kroger Brand, twelve times. Within the Kroger
brand items there are six plastic ziploc bags, this suggests that the people who live
in this home either take their lunch to work or school, or pre package their snacks
at home into serving sizes. The two church bulletins, and church offering envelopes,
suggest that both members of the household went to church once the week they
took their trash sample. Another interesting item thrown away was an old Tommy
Hilfiger brand shirt. The members of this household make enough money to throw
away old clothes, suggesting that they live comfortably. We also can tell what
bank they use because they threw away a check box from Regions bank. There
was a lot of first aid items in the trash sample as well multiple boxes of bandages
and a box of non stick gauze pads this suggests that someone in the home had a
wound that needed to be dressed. One can
Tkam Character Analysis
The Chosen, By Chaim Potok is an interesting and thought provoking read, yet the
moral ideas and thought provoking actions of the characters in To Kill a
Mockingbird by Harper Lee, will leave a lasting impact on one s life. Throughout
both novels characters are forced to make important decisions and difficult choices.
The 2nd novelmentioned, To Kill a Mockingbird, stands out among the two due to the
type of moral choices expressed, the way that the book connects the reader with the
characters, and the many well written plottwists and story lines. The Chosen has most
of these attributes as well, yet the author did not express them nearly as well as the
author of the other novel. Both novels are marvelously written and carry important
lessons. The lessons of TKAM were more interesting however, and connected the
reader s thoughts with that of the characters.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Moral choices in TKAM are seemingly more relevant than those of The Chosen
however, playing a larger role and occurring more often in day to day life.
Throughout TKAM the characters are forced to make choices such as, risking their
life for someone else s, helping someone who is despised by the community, and
backing down instead of lashing out. All of these important decisions occur during
today s era and this book gives important insight on how to decide what to do when
faced with said decisions. The Chosen includes many of these decisions as well, yet
the characters are faced with them in a more foreign situation than that of the
characters In TKAM. All of these moral decisions faced by the characters in the novel
would not be nearly as meaningful if the reader were not able to connect with the
characters and understand their thought
The Social And Cultural Life Of The Muslims
1.1 Introduction
So far as the minorities in India are concerned Muslims are the largest minority in the
country. Majority of this community is educationally and economically extremely
backward. Almost all other minorities are educationally and economically better off.
Unfortunately Muslims have not been able to get their due share in total welfare
work done by the Government, for economically weaker sections of the society in the
country since independence. Different Governments appointed committees time to
time to find out the causes of educational and economic backwardness of Muslims.
Among these communities the latest one is the Sachar Committee. The committee
has clearly revealed that only 4 per cent Muslim population is educated ... Show more

Despite constitutional guarantees of equality and social justice and socio economic
and educational development in the country, large numbers of Indian Muslims are
either unemployed or associated with manual low paid occupations both in villages
and cities. Rapidly increasing communalism and frequently occurring communal
Violence in different parts of the country make their economic condition fragile and
vulnerable as well as multiply their woes and agony.
Both NSSO and Sachar Committee Report provide a broad spectrum investigation
into the socio economic status of Muslims in India, and look into the roots of their
disadvantaged conditions of life. In an informative article published in The Hindu
in 2004, Asha Krishnakumar points out that socio economic condition of a majority
of Muslims is worse than those of Hindus. Some 59 per cent of Muslim women
have not attended school; 60 per cent were married by the age of 17 and hardly 14
per cent registered work participation. Overall, Muslims have literacy rate of 59.1 per
cent, 5.7 percent lower than the national average. Hardly half the Muslim women are
literate. While in Haryana, just about one fifth of Muslim women are literate, the
figure is about one third in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland and Jammu and Kashmir.
In 15 States, the literacy level among Muslim women is less than 50 per cent.
Muslims register the lowest work participation rate of 31.3 per cent, and just about
A Brief History of France
Historical Perspective
The history of France can be divided to Gaul and Roman Conquest, the middle
ages, modern time and contemporary era. The oldest traces of human life in what is
now France date from approximately 1.8 million years ago. Between 1500 and 500
B.C. The Guals moved into the region before it was known as France. Gaul was
conquered by Rome in the second century B.C., which led to the Gauls adopting the
Roman language and culture. France derived its modern name from Franks a
Germanic tribes that overran the country from the east around 5th century. (A Brief
History of France I)
In the 9th century, the Treaty of Verdun divided the Kingdom of Francia to three
territories; Eastern Francia, Middle Francia and Western Francia which was the
precursor to modern France. Before the monarchy was overthrown during the
French revolution in 1798, France was ruled with several noble families and was
involved with the hundred years war against England, Renaissance, reformation
and seven years war along with Austria against Prussia and England. (A Brief History
of France.II) About 10 years after the revolution in 1804 Pope Pius VII crowned
Napoleon Bonaparte as emperor of the France. (Table 1) Although he waged several
wars and occupied the most of Europe allied armies conquered Paris and exile
Napoleon to the island of Elba. However, he escaped from the island and tried to get
back on power but he defeated at the Battle of Waterloo. (A Brief History of France I)

Environmental Factors That Affect A Business s Profit And...

with Matsuzaki assigning board directors to be responsible for the operations and

Business Environment
There are many environmental factors that can affect a business s profit and sale as a

to change these processes, the brand image will completely change, thereby making it

Another clear obstacle and vital factor is competition, which for this franchise range
from household product shops and apparel retailers. The direct competition includes
stores like IKEA, Costco and UNIQLO. All these business are successful worldwide,
and continue to grow in consumers on a daily basis. When establishing the MUJI
franchise in its location, the franchisee must take into account the surrounding stores
which may pose a threat, and decide to make a few changes to stay competitive.
Products and Services MUJI is a functional multi product superstore that possesses
an extensive array of products ranging from apparel, accessories, stationery, house

Shakespeare s King Lear And The Winter s Tale
A prevailing theme in Shakespeare s King Lear and The Winter s Tale is the
possibility of reconciliation. Both rulers, Lear and Leontes, allow their political
authority to often clash with their internal flaws, but Shakespeare presents these
characters in two different settings, each of which equally produce two aspects of
redemption that are worthy of discourse. They resolve their mistakes, and with other
characters and forcers within each play that aid in their restoration, Lear and Leontes
come to find emotional redemption. However, unlike the ending of The Winter s
Tale, where supernatural forces intervene and Leontes former life is completely
recovered, King Learis not as fortunate. While Lear achieves emotional redemption
and realizes the loveand affection of his daughter and closest friends, his life is not
restored to its former lever of grandeur. This begs the question of whether complete
redemption, encapsulating both the emotional and physical elements, truly exists in a
natural world.
King Lear s character is powerful because it exemplifies the raw, emotional and
physical journey of the human condition. He embodies all the trademarks of a man
with high standing. He seemingly has within his control a kingdom that he wields
with authority, great wealth, and he is held in high esteem by his followers. In the
early lines of the play, Lear takes possession of his supremacy in dividing the entirety
of his kingdom to his daughters, solely based on which of his
Life in Ancient Egypt
Life in Ancient Egypt was very different from today Religion was key and was an
important part in the everyday life of Egyptians This was shown in all aspects,
particularly in the form of gods, temples, belief in the afterlife, mummification,
tombs, pyramids, weighing of the heart and the journey to the afterlife The gods
were the foundation Egyptian religion The ancient Egyptians had hundreds gods
and goddesses whom they believed in and worshipped every day They believed
that life would crumble without the gods To keep them happy they provided them
with offerings They offered food, drink, clothes and even jewels in hopes that they
would help them when they needed it The Egyptians believed that different gods
goddesses were responsible for different events that happened naturally For
example, the Egyptians believed that gods and goddesses took part in the creation of
the world They believed that some brought the flood every year, some offered
protection, and some took care of people after they died The Egyptians believed that
they could call on their gods to ensure a good crop, a victory in war, help in a crisis
or any other worthwhile purpose Other gods that they believed in were either local
gods who represented towns, or minor gods who represented plants or animals For
example gods like Osiris (god of the dead) Nut (goddess of the sky) Ra (god of the
sun) and Geb (god of the earth) played major parts in the life of an Egyptian These
gods were what held Egyptian
Reasons To Be A Nun In The Middle Ages
In the Middle Ages, a woman might have several reasons to be a nun. Some of them,
for example, wanted to dedicate themselves to the God; or their families couldn t
afford a daughter and sent them to the convent; or they were not attractive enough to
appeal a man and got marriage so they went to the convent. Although we don t know
the reason the prioress becoming the nun, she mustn t have gone to the convent
because of believing in god for she lacked a true religious calling. Besides, as for
her background, there are many suggestions she was from a noble family. Last but
not the least, the brooch the prioress wore had some words: Amor vincit omnia which
means love conquers all. Nevertheless, her amor wasn t to the god but to other... Show

It represented a part of the rotten religious world.
The prioress s French indicates her education. She spoke French good and elegantly,
but she had never been to France. It seems that she was taught French in England.
Without living in France, she must have been given a good environment or a fine
teacher to learn French while the convent didn t have so enough resource. Therefore,
she learned it at other place the family she belonged that could afford to give a
daughter a well education. However, having so well environment but not going to
France to learn more, the prioress shows her superficiality of limited learning.
The love of the prioress is an irony. Her love described in the prologue was not to
the God but to the little animals. She did many things with her charity and love
that others believed she love animals by heart. Nevertheless, no matter she loved
animals by heart or not, her major intention was to be a woman of empathy in
other s eyes. The reason is like why she did good table manner she wanted to earn
other s esteem. In addition, she showed her compassion to mice was another irony.
The God was the highest status respected by followers, but the prioress pitied on a
mouse which was at very low status hated by people. In addition, England just went
through the most dreadful period, Black Death mice were the symbol of death at that
time. It seems that she didn t know this misfortune in the world but pretended having

Stereotypes In Social Psychology
Social psychology is a science that study social thinking, how we perceive
ourselves and others, judgement we make and our attitudes. With the term social
psychology welcomes a theme of social situation that impacts how we as a group
think including setting and context. In social psychology, a stereotype is a thought
that can be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing
things. Stereotypes are used in all different types of manners such as positive,
negative, environment, different races, culture, ethnic groups, etc. The use of
stereotypes is a major way in which we simplify our social world; since they reduce
the amount of processing (i.e. thinking) we have to do when we meet a new person.
By stereotyping we conclude that a person has a whole variety of characteristics and
abilities that we assume all members of that group have. Stereotypes lead to what we
social characterization, which is one of the reasons for prejudice attitudes (i.e. them
and us mentality) which leads to in groups and out groups (McLeod). A... Show more

However, most people do depend on on stereotypes nearly every day to help them
function in society. For example, say a woman is walking home late from work
alone in the city at night. Walking toward her is a group of young men talking
loudly and acting rowdy. Her first thought in her mind is I don t feel safe, let me
go somewhere that I know I would be safe . The woman crosses the street and enters
the closes convenience store until the young men all pass by. Most people would say
she acted discreet, even though she relied on a stereotype to guide her behavior.
Stereotypes can lead to misrepresentation and cause people to amplify differences
among groups. They can lead people to focus selectively on information that come to
an agreement with the stereotype and take no notice of information that disagrees with

Alcoholin Cyst Research Paper
A Bartholin cyst is a fluid filled sac that forms on a Bartholin gland. Bartholin
glands are small glands located within the folds of skin (labia) along the sides of the
lower opening of the vagina. These glands produce a fluid to moisten the outside of
the vagina during sexual intercourse.
A Bartholin cyst causes a bulge on the side of the vagina. A cyst that is not large or
infected may not cause symptoms or problems. However, if the fluid within the cyst
becomes infected, the cyst can turn into an abscess. An abscess may cause discomfort
or pain.
CAUSES
A Bartholin cyst may develop when the duct of the gland becomes blocked. In many
cases, the cause of this is not known. Various kinds of bacteria can cause the cyst to
become infected and lead to an abscess.
RISK FACTORS
You may be at an increased risk of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An incision is made in the cyst or abscess so that the fluid drains out. A catheter
may be placed inside the cyst so it does not close and fill back up with fluid. The
catheter will be removed after following up with a specialist (gynecologist).
в—‹ Marsupialization. The cyst or abscess is opened and kept open by stitching the
edges of the skin to the walls of the cyst or abscess. This allows it to continue to
drain and not fill up with fluid again.
If you have cysts or abscesses that keep returning and have required incision and
drainage multiple times, your health care provider may talk to you about surgery to
remove the Bartholin gland.
HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Take medicines only as directed by your health care provider.
If you were prescribed an antibiotic medicine, finish it all even if you start to feel

Cal Polyy s Production Of The Crucible
Last week, I attended Cal Poly s production of the Crucible that was shown in
Spanos Theatre. The original playwright is Arthur Miller; In the school s adaption
of the play, it was directed by Heidi L. Ness and consisted of a cast of about 20
actors. The overall production of the play was well done, but the element that
especially stood out was the set design. Pegi Marshall, the Scenic and Lighting
designer, did an excellent job in setting the arrangement of the props and overall
structure of the set. The small details added were notable because they boosted the
overall success of the play by working hand in hand with other elements to make the
play stronger. At first glance, tree limbs were carefully placed around the rim of the

Nonverbal Communication In Nursing Essay
The importance of communication is the essential foundation of nursing practise; it is
primarily dependant upon verbal and non verbal communication. Encompassing both
speech and behavioural aspects, efficient delivery and receiving of the nurse patient
messages initiates advantageous relationships, or contrarily, generates significant
repercussions if applied ineffectively, thus affecting the quality of the nurse patient
relationship. This essay will discuss how effective verbal and non verbal
communicationin nursing practice will facilitate a mutually satisfying therapeutic
nurse patient relationship. It will firstly discuss verbal communication, followed on
by the complementary non verbal communication and lastly listening. However, for...

These styles of non verbal communication can be grouped together to form body
language. Chambers (2003) also adds touch, physical appearance and passive
listening . Through careful consideration of those non verbal signs, nurses are able to
gain a more profound insight into the emotional needs and experiences of patients,
thus encouraging additional patient investigation (Stein Parbury, 1999).
Clearly these signs of non verbal communication together with appropriate use will
endeavor to enhance the nurse patient relationship. According to Caris Verhallen,
Kerkstra Bensing (2002, p. 809) to express warmth and empathy the nurse need to
make eye contact with the patient . However, eye contact is a special exception in
non verbal communication (Vernallen, Kerkstra Bensing, 2002). It can reveal some
hidden and profound feelings that cannot be expressed in another manner that will
serve as a role in emphatic connection (Benjamin, 2005). For instance, in western
culture, looking people in the eye is assumed to indicate honesty and straight
forwardness, in Latin and Asian cultures it represents aggression and/or disrespect
(Le Roux, 2002). Certainly in these circumstances, the importance of limiting eye
contact and touch in appropriate cultures and regarding them as culturally dissimilar
ensures patient misinterpretation is avoided.
Additionally the use of touch can in some cultures be a sensitive issue for example in
the Muslim culture,
Drinking Behavior Case Study Essay
As Andrea is in the formal operational stage, the connection between her drinking and
how it affects her is apparent. Her ability to use deductive reasoning emerges at this
stage by increasing her drinking habits to determine specific outcomes. In this
scenario, Andrea s outcomes from drinking benefit her socially and emotionally.
Adolescents at this age are able to think about abstract concepts and think about
hypothetical situations and possible results of their actions. Moreover, adolescents
have the ability to consider various solutions to problem solve before acting.
Although Andrea believes the solution to her problems is to abuse alcohol, she is not
considering the future consequences of her actions. During adolescence, skills such as
the ability to think logically emerge. Although this is a positive and helpful skill for
adolescents during this stage, Andrea s ability to utilize this cognitive skill impacts
her negatively. Her way of thinking is that if she drinks, it will help her cope with
her emotional pain and increase her social relationships. Andrea only focuses on the

The Pros And Cons Of A Republican Party
A Republican is a person who is involved with or supports the Republican Party. They
support the ideals that the party holds in its party platform. Their party platform
includes restoring the American Dream, reforming the Federal government, renewing
American values, and abiding by the Constitution to fix the country. Some party
planks include cutting government spending, making a Federal State partnership to
create jobs, reform the tax code, and organizing space missions and programs. A
Republican is usually more conservative, which means that they most likely
disapprove gun control, oppose abortion, and disagree with same sex marriage. They
believe in a limited government, helping the debt crisis, in a private sector to create
jobs, and strict interpretation of the Constitution. They feel that government should

Seduction in John Donne s The Flea Essay
Seduction in John Donne s The Flea
Poetry is not only a brilliant form of expression, but also a powerful tool for
persuasion. The renowned metaphysical poet John Donne uses the genre for this
very purpose in The Flea, a work in which he encourages a young woman to have
premarital sex with him. Donne backs his argument by referring to a flea that has
sucked his own blood as well as his lover s. In the first stanza Donne assures the
woman that sleeping together would be a minor act. When he says How little that
which thou deniest me is he promises the woman that the act would be as miniscule
as the flea is in size (1.2). Also, by using the word deniest he tries to make the women
feel a sense of guilt, as if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He takes it a step further by stating that in the flea they yea more than married are
(2.1). It is one thing to note that a flea contains two individuals blood, but to say
that this union is greater than marriage is very extreme. Yet Donne executes this
unlikely comparison with the utmost confidence, creating a surprisingly poignant
argument. When the speaker says though parents grudge, he acknowledges that the
woman s parents (and society in general) would show great disapproval for such
behavior (2.5). However, he replies that they are cloistered in these walls of jet
(2.6). He describes their blood as secluded within the flea to remind his lady that
they are also far away from any condemning parents. When the lady threatens to kill
the flea, the speaker shows his opposition when he states And sacrilege, three sins in
killing three (2.9). Once again, it seems strange to jump to the defense of a
bothersome insect, but when we consider the flea as two lovers and the chamber that
houses them it becomes more rational.
In the final stanza the woman kills the flea. Unsurprisingly, the very dramatic
Donne labels the death as cruel and sudden (3.1). He goes on to say that she has
purpled thy nail, in blood of innocence (3.2). What he means by this is that the flea
has done nothing more than suck her blood, yet she has ended its life. Since the
mingling of blood is representative of sex, it implies that the act of sex is

Detail 1: Although Hamlet and Prufrock in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrockare
confronted with completely different situations, these two characters prove they are
possessed of similar personality traits. Just like Hamlet, Prufrock is an emotional,
over analytical and indecisive character.
Detail 2: As can be deduced from the poem, Prufrock spends all of his time
pondering how to behave, and to act in society, as he wants to become a man of
action. Prufrock imagines himself achieving great things for himself and having
everything he desires. Nonetheless, he cannot find a way to realize his wishes.
Prufrock is well aware of his tragedy, and he makes sure the audience understands
that he is a flawed man full of fears, whims and self fancies. Again, just as we find
in Hamlet s character, Prufrock s personality makes him cautious of acting towards
any goal he might have, and his over analytic persona makes him incapable of
taking control of any situation. Prufrock explains his problems through a simple
example from one of his failures. He recounts that he was incapable of asking a girl
to date him, and despite his loving for her, he did nothing to make his love count.
Detail 3: Prufrock s situation is not as tragic as Hamlet s, yet it is easy to
understand why Prufrock s character shares similar tragic flaws with Hamlet s. There
is an extreme sense of
Copper Cable versus Fiber Optics
Copper Cable (Ethernet) versus fiber optics
The topic we picked to do our presentation on is fiber optics versus cable, which is
better for a company use and what are the future prospects of fiber optics and
cable. We also talked about the history of DSL, broadband, fiber optics, and dial
up. There are both pros and cons with fiber optics and copper cable. The main point
for our research is which would companies choose. During our research there was
many obstacles because it was hard to say why companies would choose fiber
optics or copper cable because it varies from company to company. The start of our
research had to be choosing to talk about the history by showing where it all came
from.
History:
The research method we used was the internet and it provided us with relevant,
interesting information. When we started our research we wanted to focus on the
history of DSL, dial up, Broadband, and fiber optics. Starting with dial up, it was
created in 1962 by Bell with speeds reaching 300 bits per second. dial up evolved
over years into standard 56k modem in about 1996 by Dr. Brent Townshend. Next,
DSL was invented in 1988 by Bellcore, DSL was revolutionary because it proved
that data and phone could be sent at the same time using the same line. The next is
Broadband it was created in 1996 by Roger Communications. Broadband is
currently the most widely used way to transport data. It was used in 70% of homes

Comparing Fairy Tales And The Wife Of Bath s Tale
A fairy tale is a type of short story that typically features European folklore fantasy
characters such as fairies and witches. One of The Canterbury Tales is similar to a
fairy tale. The Wife of Bath s Tale contains many characteristics of fairy tales, and
she strongly suggests that when a husband gives control to the wife it leads to a
happy marriage.
One reason The Wife of Bath s Taleis similar to a fairy tale is because the tale
features characters that are usually found in a fairy tale. In the tale there is a king
and a queen just like in most fairy tales. In most fairy tales there is a knight and in
The Wife of Bath s Tale the knight is the main character. The king and queen are
similar to the ones in fairy tales because of their actions and demands. In the tale the
king wants to behead the knight and show him no mercy, but the queen spares the
knight. The characters in The Wife of Bath s Tale help make it comparable to a fairy

In some cases they ask for a favor. In The Wife of Baths Tale, the knight is charged
for raping an innocent woman. He is then sentenced to death, but the queen gives
the knight twelve months and a day to discover what women truly want or desire.
That is what sets the whole tale. In a fairy tale, during a quest the main character
sometimes encounters one that will play an important role in the tale. In The Wife
of Bale s Tale, the knight runs into a group of women who disappear and the only
thing that approaches him is an old lady. The old lady plays an important role
because she saves the knight by answering the question of what women truly desire.
However she asks the knight for a favor in return. The old lady asks the knight to
marry him. The plot in this tale is very similar to fairy tales there is a problem that

Forrester. This novel is a flashback to the year 1943, when Gene is attending Devon
School during his senior year and the summer before it. Gene s youth and
inexperience make him ill equipped to deal with situations that require maturity
(Overview: A Separate Peace 2). However, Gene is a follower of Finnyand therefore

Gene becomes more disciplined and athletically inclined. He is undertaking
circumstances that he knows will never come true, the 1944 Olympics, yet making
the best of them to please his best friend. Gene is learning to do things although he
does not want to do and that have no purpose. This is a difficult task for an
immature child; however, through Gene s ability to train for the inexistent
Olympics, shows that he is growing up. He looks at his training as if he were
preparing for the war. Accepting that he must go to war is also another sign of
maturity brought on by the training for the Olympics with Finny. Through his
preparation for the Olympics, Gene s coming of age becomes more and more evident.
Finny s death causes the greatest maturity growth in Gene s character. After Finny
dies, he realized how his own hatred caused the death of his best friend. He came to
understand Finny s innocence and purity which causes Gene to see flaws within
himself and forces him to grow up (Alton 1). Being able to admit your own flaws is
critical in maturing. When Gene finally sees his impact of immature behavior, he
realizes how much he needs to mature. Even though Finny is physically gone, his
spirit remains with Gene and essentially makes him the adult that he grows up to
be. Finny s death is a crucial part of Gene s coming of age. When Finny dies, Gene s
immature behaviors also die. Because Gene s hatred was gone, he entered war as a
man.
Warfare In Medieval Italy
Incessant Warfare In the 14th century, the northern Italy was divided into many
conflicting city states. The most powerful of these city states were Milan, Florence,

Attitudes of Christianity and Islam Toward Merchants and...
From their origins to 1500, the attitudes of both Christian and Muslims toward trade

Christian attitudes were more negative, while Muslims tended to encourage and

in that they were suspicious of traders whereas the Christians became more like the
early Muslims, equating merchants (at least honest ones) with doing God s work,

Commerce is the increasing of capital by buying goods and attempting to sell them
at a price higher than their cost. Waiting for a rise in the market price or by
transporting the goods to another place where they are more keenly demanded. It is
necessary to have enough initial capital to pay in cash the sellers from whom one
buys goods, to sell for cash as honesty. Dishonesty leads on the one hand to fraud and
the adulteration of goods and on the other to delays on payment which diminish
profits because capital remains idle during the interval. (Document 5, fourteen

characteristics of the profession and qualities lead to a decrease and weakening in

Additionally, the BOD has a direct relation with IJV managers. The structure of IJV
helps us to understand the challenges that parent firms face in designing the contract.
2.1Parent firms and IJV managers relation
IJV managers are promoted to the venture by the parent firms in order to represent
the parent firm s culture, goals etc. Therefore, IJV managers are working on behalf of
the both parent firm s objectives in the IJV. In this context, agency theory helps us in
understanding the relationship between the IJV managers and parent firms.
Agency theory is concerned with resolving two problems that can occur in agency
relationships. The first is the agency problem that arises when (a) the desires or
goals of the principal and agent conflict and (b) it is difficult or expensive for the
principal to verify what the agent is actually doing.
The cause of the agency problem between IJV and parent firm relation is that the
parent firm usually lacks of measuring and controlling the behavior of the managers
appropriately. That means that information is asymmetric and IJV managers have
more information about the ongoing works of the IJV than their parent firms.
Therefore, IJV managers generally show the tendency to satisfy their self interest
instead of the parent firm s interest. In this context, two different kinds of agency
problem arise, namely moral hazard and adverse

As described in the article, Outsourcing Pros And Cons by Kristin Carpenter;
Outsourcing is basically the practice of one company to contract another company to
provide the services that could have been performed by their own staff.... One of the
main reasons why companies are into outsourcing is diminished company resources,
both in financial terms and in manpower costs (Carpenter). Because the most
powerful American corporations in the U.S are no longer producing their
merchandise in the U.S but in developing nations, in order to reduce the cost of labor
and increase productivity, the United States no longer has companies that produce
jobs in America. And due to the gradual growth of the use of outsourcing, American
employment opportunity has decline greatly, leaving many people unemployed and
harming our economic strength in the world. In addition outsourcing is also the result
of globalization; Jagdish Bhagwati s definition of globalization says, Globalization is
integration of national economies into the international economy through trade,
foreign direct investment, capital flow, migration, and the spread of technology
throughout the world (Bhagwati 8). Finn implies that globalization is the major
factor for the exploitation of cheap foreign labor in third world countries and the

Catholic Beliefs Of Ecumenism
Catholicism is the world s largest denomination which is part of the apostolic
church. The catholic origin and way of life was established by Jesus Christ during
the 33 A.D time period. During Jesus s lifetime, he and his twelve disciples spent
their time, nurturing and developing the faith of catholicism, through their rites,
beliefs and practices. Today there are over 1.2 billion catholics following the church
s beliefs and practices under the head of the catholic churchPopeFrancis who is
recognised as the successor of St Peter .
Under the guidance of Jesus Christ, the catholic faith and other christian
denominations attempt to unite together through a process called Ecumenism.

Catholicism teaches catholics to worship their lord by following the seven
sacraments. The seven sacraments include; Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist,
Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. The Catholic
Church sees baptism as the first and basic sacrament of Christian initiation.
Baptism is the act of sprinkling water onto a person s forehead or immersing them
in water. Confirmation is done to seal the gift of the Holy Spirit and to strengthen
someone s christian life. During conformation, a bishop anoints a person by using
oil of Chrism to make the sign of the cross on their forehead. The sacrament of
Penance (also known as Reconciliation) is the first sacrament of healing. During
Penance catholics confess any sins they have committed after baptism, to a priest.
There priest follows the four steps of forgiveness and forgives them for their sins.
Anointing of the sick is the second sacrament of healing. It involves anointing
those who are extremely sick and are highly likely to die. It is a rite that is
performed to convey God s grace to the recipient, through the power of the Holy
Spirit. It is also likely to be the last sacrament that an individual s receives in their
life. Holy Orders is the sacrament where a man is made a bishop, a priest, or a
deacon, and carries out the image of Christ. Matrimony, or Marriage
Nazis Use Of Propaganda During The Holocaust
Some ways the holocaust was implemented was the use of propaganda, the
relocation of people to Ghettos, the creation of laws to strip people of their rights,
and the use of technology to increase the efficiency of the machinery of genocide. I
think one of the most effect sytstem was using propaganda because a picture is
worth a thousand words. Seeing how the Nazis used propaganda and how that system
was very effective and terrible.
The use of propaganda at that time wasnt just putting posters around town. The
Nazis produced textbooks, flims, comics and even specific radio stations. The use
of all of the propaganda may have seemed minor but because the Nazis went
overboard today we look at propaganda as a horrible thing. The use of propaganda
is just reminding the people in the holocuast that their lives werent worth anything
and gave them broken faith, which was the point. In the Nazis favor the use of
propaganda was just another way of domination. A brilliant man named Joseph
Goebbels influeneced the poropaganda game greatly and made Hitler look like a
hero and used the fear of the people as stability. Joseph Goebbels was the
mastermind behind all of the porpagnada. Because Joseph was the head of the Nazis
propaganda his offical title was Minister of Propaganda and National Enlightenment.

One example I found of propagnda effecting the youth was a poster of Hitler
holding a german child and the poster is conveying that Hitler is a god like figure

no one else matters. The disturbing truth of teaching the future genertion to not be

As a student in Finland, one can expect to take one main standardized test. The
teachers have a professional responsibility to prepare students for this main test. The

This exam determines whether or not a student will move onto a college or
university, repeat a year in high school, or move directly into the workforce. The
National Matriculation Exam has existed for roughly 160 years receiving very
minimal changes throughout that time. One can note a major difference between
Finnish and American standardized testing first and foremost with knowing that
American tests are newer and undergo changes almost constantly. The Finnish exam
is created by well qualified teachers meaning that lawmakers have almost no power
over the test (Strauss 1 of 3). The required areas tested within this test include spoken

Problems Are Not Stop Signs
Problems Are Not Stop Signs, They Are Guidelines My family once said,
Sometimes the bad things our lives put us directly on the path to the best things
that will ever happen. Dilemmas that have occurred in my life have led me to
where I am now and where I will be in the future. Thinking and wanting to become
an RN was not exactly what my 18 year old self thought I would be interested in
doing, but the past has changed my desire to make change in my career choice,
which consisted of just being a nurse. Since I was young I have observed many
struggles that occurred in my family; the main struggle was how to get through life

That is most definitely not the case. I have manifested that perception is in the

I Believe in Sneakers
I Believe in Sneakers
It all started with a Jumpman and a swoosh, it was more than just a shoe it was the
start of a culture. What most people look at as just a shoe to protect their feet has a
story behind it and a deeper meaning to me and many others than just a pair of shoes
. Don t put on a pair of shoes unless you know how to wear them right. For every
pair I own I could explain the troubles I went through and the people I met to get
each sneaker. The best feeling was opening that fresh shoe box and taking out that
paper wrapping. Putting on each new pair of sneakers is like taking a breath of fresh
air each pair crisp as bacon. I am one among many sneakerheads, people who love to
buy, sell, trade, and collect rare shoes. There is a culture, lifestyle, and history behind
sneaker collecting. Most people would think dropping hundreds if not thousands on
a pair of shoes is crazy but I believe sneakers are essential.
It all started my freshman year in high school when I noticed my friends Jordan s
that he had waited hours outside of a shoe store for. At the time they were some of
the coolest shoes I had ever seen, I wanted a pair like that. I took a deeper look into
retro Jordan s and found out that most were really hard to get. You couldn t just go
to your nearest shoe store and just pick up the pair you wanted. You would have to
drops hundreds of dollars on a pair that others camped out for or woke up hours
early to get on the nike.com release of the shoe.
Essay On Sperm
Researchers from the Gurdon Institute at the University of Cambridge are believed to
be the first team to reach the halfway point in creating human sperm. If they could
successfully recreate the way the human body produces sperm, it may lead to the
creation of artificial sperm and eggs for infertility treatment.
The pathway between stem cells and immature sperm involves a series of complex
steps, meiosis, Engadget reported. For around eight weeks, the cells follow the
same journey before it takes different directions depending on if it will become an
egg or sperm. The team previously managed to reach the four week mark of the
pathway,

Good news for gay couples
The study, by offering important clues to the cause of infertility, could offer new
hope to infertile couples. If the researchers can perfect the production of germ cells
which the team estimates may take them 10 years, the regulators in Britain which
have banned clinics from using artificial eggs or sperm could be pressured to change
the rules.
Among the implications of the creation of sperm is that women with fertility issues
can choose to have lab grown eggs rather than take fertility drugs. Gay couples can
have a baby that is genetically related to the two parents of the same gender. It could
make the law less discriminatory if same sex couples can use their genes to produce
the egg or sperm.
Because of the improved technology, judges may no longer deny legal rights to a
child which a divorcee helped raise on the ground that she was not the biological
mother, like the decision issued by a Mississippi judge in December, Pink News
noted.
Getting each step right.
Because it is important to get each step right, Surani did not set a date when the
artificial egg and sperm will be available for human use. Since all of these steps are
incredibly important, he said that researchers have to ensure it has gone through the
right stages if it would ever be used in a clinical setting.
He said that an egg may look like an egg, but in molecular detail, it might not be the
right cell. There would be a lot of
Christianity Protestant Reformer Research Paper
Christianity: Protestant Reformer Martin Luther
Martin Luther, born into the Catholic Church in 1483, is considered to be the
father of Protestantism. 1 Luther was a devout man who dedicated himself to the
study of the bible; in addition to being a Professor of Biblical Studies at the
University of Wittenberg, he was also a priest and a monk. He spent a lot of his
time focusing on what one could do to earn eternal salvation as it was written about
in the Bible. This was especially troubling to him given the actions of his colleagues
at the University of Wittenberg and his fellow priests and monks. He felt the actions
of many of those in the Church that he loved were both immoral and corrupt, and
especially in the midst of his own struggles with the idea of salvation, these actions
troubled him deeply. 2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had issues with abuses of power amongst clergy, especially with regard to
church finances. He disliked the idea of indulgences, which involved members of
the congregations paying priests and other leaders for abolition of their sins,
effectively bribing church leaders for their own salvation. More than this, spiritual
merit was attached to donations made to the church, and masses were able to be
purchased for the dead. The University of Whittenberg held many sacred relics,
including hairs said to have been from the Virgin Mary and the crown of thorns
placed on Jesus head during crucifixion. Rather than cherishing these items for their
religious worth, they were sold. 3
Because of these things, Martin Luther was raged with a fierce and agitated
conscience . 4 After intense study, Luther followed the traditional method of
protesting within the Catholic church he nailed his complaints to the Church door and
invited them to meet with him. Because of his refusal to take back these complaints,
and despite his intention to stay in the church, he was excommunicated in 1521.
Little Ice Age
Europe had experienced a general cooling of the climate between years 1150 and
1460 and a very cold climate between 1560 and 1850. This event came to be known
as the Little Ice Age. This cold weather had impact on agriculture, health, economics,
emigration, and art and literature . The term Little Ice Age was named by Francois
Matthes in 1939 to describe the most destructive climatedrop in Europe. This ice age
was consisted of mountain glaciers which brought temperatures as low as 2 degrees
Fahrenheit. Numerous people got sick and some were even killed and starved to
death because of a famine. Farms and villages were lost due to the cold weather. It is
unknown on what caused this Little Ice Age. We do know that this event impacted...

to give off much oxygen into the atmosphere, which we breathe in. The true impact
of The Little Ice Age began around 1600 and lasted until the 1800 s. During that
time in Europe is when it was at its height. It was considered to be the most
significant climate event of the last millennium. Only until recently have
climatologist discovered research of climate conditions in historical times. As stated
before, no one is quite sure how The Little Ice Age evolved. Climatologist and
historians have had many discussions on what they think was the main cause of the
ice age. Today they are able to determine the yearly average temperatures, rainfalls,
volcanic activity, and the effect of the sunduring that period . What we know is that
the sun experienced a quiet period, meaning its intensity was not that strong.
Therefore, a cooling occurred. Sunspots which determine the suns strength were
noted to be in decline. Volcanic activity is to be another known source of the cause.
As the volcanoes erupted they shot out particles and gases into the air. With these
gases floating in the
Piaget And Vygotsky s Four Stages Of Cognitive
Development
Four sub domains of a child s development are physical, cognitive, social, and
emotional development. Every single domain is very important for children s
development. Therefore, cognitive development is one of the important factors of
children s development. As many doctors and researchers began to study cognitive
development in depth, there are different theories and many steps and data about
cognitive development. All of the individuals in this field of the study must have
heard Piaget and Vygotsky at least once. They both announced two different theories
about cognitive development. They do have some of their thoughts in common, but
they approached it in different views. Also, this development is not just an
explanation of how children learn and process information. There are important sub
stages inside this broad topic called cognitive development. So the question is what

infants will start focusing on the deliberate variation of actions (Feldman, 2014,
Business Types And A Proposed Staffing Plan
Introduction
In today s society, many people view employment inversely than years past.
Punching a time clock to supply livable means for families is no longer a way of life
for many. The entrepreneurial spirit flows within the universe. Freedom to put
innovation into action for profit is prevalent. People express their passion and vision
through entrepreneurship. Before displaying the desire and sharing the dream
through entrepreneurship, it is mandatory to gather data and information as well as
performing a risk assessment. Leaving a job, earning a stable income or spending
retirement on a free enterprise venture can impact livable means. In this assignment,
business types and a proposed staffing plan will be defined. A financial plan will be
outlined to ensure compliance with regulatory rules are in place.

There is a lot of focus on schools these days by local, state, and federal government.
With all these eyes focusing on schools there is a lot of pressure as well as
curriculum state standards set in place to be met. At the same time it almost makes
it impossible for educators as well as students to breathe; they have to jump over
numerous hurdles with expectations that are sometimes impossible to meet. One of
the challenges high schools are having to address is the EOC (End of Course) exam
, stated by (Mizell, 2014) that more and more students are failing to pass, this exam
is what decides if a high schoolstudent graduates or not. These state standards and
regulations, that schools are required to meet, makes for a long and grim discussion.
Schools are identifying more and more at risk students due to the students not
passing the EOC exams and the schools themselves are becoming high risk with no
reward for faculty or students. It is my desire and hope to improve and greatly
impact the educational community by focusing on the statistics involving these
identified at risk students. At risk students , are students who fall through the cracks
due to various reasons, such as, learning difficulties, being second language learners,
drug and alcohol concerns, and poverty concerns in their homes. (Chapter 6: search
for opportunity) The focus of my work will be to facilitate the prevention of high
school dropouts and provide support that will be readily available to all students.

Oskar Schindler Essay. Oskar Schindler by Jazmin Estebez

  • 1. Oskar Schindler Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of Oskar Schindler is a challenging endeavor that requires a meticulous blend of historical research, empathy, and critical analysis. Schindler's life is a complex tapestry woven with threads of heroism, moral ambiguity, and the grim backdrop of the Holocaust. To encapsulate his multifaceted character, one must delve into the extensive historical archives, primary sources, and various perspectives on Schindler's actions. Understanding the historical context is imperative. The essay should navigate the intricacies of World War II, the rise of the Nazi regime, and the atrocities of the Holocaust. Comprehending Schindler's motivations and the ethical dilemmas he faced adds another layer of difficulty. Balancing the portrayal of Schindler as a savior while acknowledging the moral complexities surrounding his character demands a nuanced approach. Furthermore, addressing the impact of Schindler's actions on the lives of the Jewish individuals he saved necessitates a delicate and empathetic touch. An exploration of the survivors' testimonies, coupled with a thorough analysis of Schindler's legacy, enhances the essay's depth and authenticity. Analyzing Schindler's List, both the book and the film, provides an additional layer of complexity. Evaluating how these artistic representations capture the essence of Oskar Schindler's story requires a keen understanding of the medium and its potential biases. In the conclusion, synthesizing the myriad aspects of Oskar Schindler's life, actions, and legacy poses a formidable challenge. Striking a balance between admiration and critical reflection is crucial, as is leaving room for the reader to grapple with the moral implications of Schindler's choices. In essence, writing an essay on Oskar Schindler demands meticulous research, ethical sensitivity, and a keen understanding of historical nuance. It is not merely a recounting of facts but a thoughtful exploration of humanity's capacity for both darkness and redemption. The complexity of the subject matter necessitates a careful and considerate approach to do justice to Oskar Schindler's profound and intricate story. As stated in a previous paper, and an intake interview helps the case manager know goals that the clients are setting for themselves. The intake interview also helps us know how much English the clients may or may not know. Sadly, these clients not only have very little English, but neither of them have had any schooling. If this was a game show, this would be called a double whammy. It s already hard finding jobs for clients that don t have much English, so for them to two disadvantages doesn t help at all. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We have to work with what we have. They tell us that they really want to work, so hopefully I and my fellow co workers are able to find them jobs.... I applied both clients to the Wyndham hotel, then I email the human resource manager to let her know which clients I applied, and that they will need extra time learning. She emailed me back quickly to tell me that she is glad to accept our clients, and they will get as much training as they

The following values are the ones that resonate with me. These are the top priorities for me to live to pass along to my children and everyone in my life: a.Honesty. To live genuinely; to live honesty, keeps our hearts and souls pure and our minds free of uncertainty or vulnerability. When we are honest, we know we are doing the correct things. b.Responsibility. I will not be acting from good will if I decided to be deceitful. Even though the organization s main end goal is to maximize profit, human s lives do not have a price. An organization should never forget that it exists because of its individuals. I would not use people as a means to an end and not to dehumanize human beings. Gender heavily influenced the actions the characters committed to and the roles available to them in Ithaca. Men proudly served in combative roles to engage in serious and informational moments. Their presence was crucial to protect and promote courage, loyalty, civilization, and the legacy of their society. Meanwhile, women primarily assisted men in accomplishing their goals. He escaped from Cyclops stronghold by using available resources and a creative idea to intoxicate and subdue him. Subsequently, he was forced to travel along rough, deadly winds on the fish infested sea and land of the Lotus eaters (Homer, 173). Odysseus was truly never at a loss or backed in a corner for a prolonged time (Homer, 157). It was his responses to consecutive strenuous experiences that enabled his comrades to respect, admire, and trust him. Odysseus was the ultimate standard due to optimistic disposition during harsh times. Odysseus was rightfully qualified to lead his comrades. The best man represented the land and their ideology. Homer stated Odysseus objective was to save his life and bring his comrades home (Homer, 152). Odysseus prepared his men as efficiently as he could. • 11. The Trash Sample Within the trash sample I analyzed there were around 234 items thrown away within a week s period. Many of the items thrown away were thrown away in pairs suggesting that two people live in the dwelling that the sample was taken in. Some examples of items thrown away in pairs include, Starbucks cups, church bulletins, and Bounty paper towels. Bounty paper products, napkins and paper towels, show up on the record 24 times, suggesting that Bounty paper products are used over three times per day, corresponding with meals. Other brands that show up in the sample often include Green Giant, four times, Kroger Brand, twelve times. Within the Kroger brand items there are six plastic ziploc bags, this suggests that the people who live in this home either take their lunch to work or school, or pre package their snacks at home into serving sizes. The two church bulletins, and church offering envelopes, suggest that both members of the household went to church once the week they took their trash sample. Another interesting item thrown away was an old Tommy Hilfiger brand shirt. The members of this household make enough money to throw away old clothes, suggesting that they live comfortably. We also can tell what bank they use because they threw away a check box from Regions bank. There was a lot of first aid items in the trash sample as well multiple boxes of bandages and a box of non stick gauze pads this suggests that someone in the home had a wound that needed to be dressed. The 2nd novelmentioned, To Kill a Mockingbird, stands out among the two due to the type of moral choices expressed, the way that the book connects the reader with the characters, and the many well written plottwists and story lines. The Chosen has most of these attributes as well, yet the author did not express them nearly as well as the author of the other novel. Both novels are marvelously written and carry important lessons. Throughout TKAM the characters are forced to make choices such as, risking their life for someone else s, helping someone who is despised by the community, and backing down instead of lashing out. All of these important decisions occur during today s era and this book gives important insight on how to decide what to do when faced with said decisions. The Chosen includes many of these decisions as well, yet the characters are faced with them in a more foreign situation than that of the characters In TKAM. All of these moral decisions faced by the characters in the novel would not be nearly as meaningful if the reader were not able to connect with the characters and understand their thought

  • 17. Shakespeare s King Lear And The Winter s Tale A prevailing theme in Shakespeare s King Lear and The Winter s Tale is the possibility of reconciliation. Both rulers, Lear and Leontes, allow their political authority to often clash with their internal flaws, but Shakespeare presents these characters in two different settings, each of which equally produce two aspects of redemption that are worthy of discourse. They resolve their mistakes, and with other characters and forcers within each play that aid in their restoration, Lear and Leontes come to find emotional redemption. However, unlike the ending of The Winter s Tale, where supernatural forces intervene and Leontes former life is completely recovered, King Learis not as fortunate. While Lear achieves emotional redemption and realizes the loveand affection of his daughter and closest friends, his life is not restored to its former lever of grandeur. This begs the question of whether complete redemption, encapsulating both the emotional and physical elements, truly exists in a natural world. King Lear s character is powerful because it exemplifies the raw, emotional and physical journey of the human condition. He embodies all the trademarks of a man with high standing. He seemingly has within his control a kingdom that he wields with authority, great wealth, and he is held in high esteem by his followers. In social psychology, a stereotype is a thought that can be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things. Stereotypes are used in all different types of manners such as positive, negative, environment, different races, culture, ethnic groups, etc. The use of stereotypes is a major way in which we simplify our social world; since they reduce the amount of processing (i.e. thinking) we have to do when we meet a new person. Clearly these signs of non verbal communication together with appropriate use will endeavor to enhance the nurse patient relationship. However, eye contact is a special exception in non verbal communication (Vernallen, Kerkstra Bensing, 2002). It can reveal some hidden and profound feelings that cannot be expressed in another manner that will serve as a role in emphatic connection (Benjamin, 2005). For instance, in western culture, looking people in the eye is assumed to indicate honesty and straight forwardness, in Latin and Asian cultures it represents aggression and/or disrespect (Le Roux, 2002). Certainly in these circumstances, the importance of limiting eye contact and touch in appropriate cultures and regarding them as culturally dissimilar ensures patient misinterpretation is avoided. The renowned metaphysical poet John Donne uses the genre for this very purpose in The Flea, a work in which he encourages a young woman to have premarital sex with him. Donne backs his argument by referring to a flea that has sucked his own blood as well as his lover s. In the first stanza Donne assures the woman that sleeping together would be a minor act. He takes it a step further by stating that in the flea they yea more than married are (2.1). It is one thing to note that a flea contains two individuals blood, but to say that this union is greater than marriage is very extreme. Yet Donne executes this unlikely comparison with the utmost confidence, creating a surprisingly poignant argument. When the speaker says though parents grudge, he acknowledges that the woman s parents (and society in general) would show great disapproval for such behavior (2.5). However, he replies that they are cloistered in these walls of jet (2.6). He describes their blood as secluded within the flea to remind his lady that they are also far away from any condemning parents. When the lady threatens to kill the flea, the speaker shows his opposition when he states And sacrilege, three sins in killing three (2.9). Once again, it seems strange to jump to the defense of a bothersome insect, but when we consider the flea as two lovers and the chamber that houses them it becomes more rational. In the final stanza the woman kills the flea. Unsurprisingly, the very dramatic Donne labels the death as cruel and sudden (3.1). He goes on to say that she has purpled thy nail, in blood of innocence (3.2). What he means by this is that the flea has done nothing more than suck her blood, yet she has ended its life. Since the mingling of blood is representative of sex, it implies that the act of sex is

This novel is a flashback to the year 1943, when Gene is attending Devon School during his senior year and the summer before it. Gene s youth and inexperience make him ill equipped to deal with situations that require maturity (Overview: A Separate Peace 2). However, Gene is a follower of Finnyand therefore gains experiences that provoke his development into adulthood. This is a difficult task for an immature child; however, through Gene s ability to train for the inexistent Olympics, shows that he is growing up. He looks at his training as if he were preparing for the war. Accepting that he must go to war is also another sign of maturity brought on by the training for the Olympics with Finny. Through his preparation for the Olympics, Gene s coming of age becomes more and more evident. Finny s death causes the greatest maturity growth in Gene s character. After Finny dies, he realized how his own hatred caused the death of his best friend. He came to understand Finny s innocence and purity which causes Gene to see flaws within himself and forces him to grow up (Alton 1). Being able to admit your own flaws is critical in maturing. When Gene finally sees his impact of immature behavior, he realizes how much he needs to mature. Even though Finny is physically gone, his spirit remains with Gene and essentially makes him the adult that he grows up to be. Finny s death is a crucial part of Gene s coming of age. When Finny dies, Gene s immature behaviors also die. Because Gene s hatred was gone, he entered war as a man.

In this context, agency theory helps us in understanding the relationship between the IJV managers and parent firms. Agency theory is concerned with resolving two problems that can occur in agency relationships. The first is the agency problem that arises when (a) the desires or goals of the principal and agent conflict and (b) it is difficult or expensive for the principal to verify what the agent is actually doing. The cause of the agency problem between IJV and parent firm relation is that the parent firm usually lacks of measuring and controlling the behavior of the managers appropriately. • 52. Helping and Supporting Educational Systems by Starting a... There is a lot of focus on schools these days by local, state, and federal government. With all these eyes focusing on schools there is a lot of pressure as well as curriculum state standards set in place to be met. At the same time it almost makes it impossible for educators as well as students to breathe; they have to jump over numerous hurdles with expectations that are sometimes impossible to meet. One of the challenges high schools are having to address is the EOC (End of Course) exam , stated by (Mizell, 2014) that more and more students are failing to pass, this exam is what decides if a high schoolstudent graduates or not. Schools are identifying more and more at risk students due to the students not passing the EOC exams and the schools themselves are becoming high risk with no reward for faculty or students. It is my desire and hope to improve and greatly impact the educational community by focusing on the statistics involving these identified at risk students. At risk students , are students who fall through the cracks due to various reasons, such as, learning difficulties, being second language learners, drug and alcohol concerns, and poverty concerns in their homes. (Chapter 6: search for opportunity) The focus of my work will be to facilitate the prevention of high school dropouts and provide support that will be readily available to all students.
