During the Middle Ages, there were strict gender roles for men and women; men were seen as active
figures of authority in both the household and society, whereas women were largely confined to the
domestic realm and expected to submit passively to men. These gender roles resulted in a strict gender
binary which held the belief that each sex was born with a set of traits that made them distinctly
masculine or feminine. Accordingly, the society in the thirteenth century old French fabliau La Dame
Escoillée upholds these medieval attitudes towards men and women. Throughout the fabliau, the
speaker portrays a patriarchal society which privileges men over women and is governed by

Although there are an increasingly number of literature when it comes to serial killers, but it would
appear that most of it is more based on the identification of the killer and the reasons why he or she
did it (2009). According to Bartels and Parsons, it is believed that there is a dominant understanding of

Objectivity is a funny way of people justifying their own subjections. Edmund Husserl is the guy to

of liver cirrhosis. It is associated with worsening liver function, ascites and the occurrence of
