By using social media this way in the classroom, students can unite with other cultures and societies to
become more aware of the world. Although many households do have access to computers, there are
some families who would prefer to communicate the old fashioned or traditional way. For those
families a class newsletter, phone call, written note or face to face communication can increase the
level of two way communication. It may also be a practical way to inform parents of future events and
classroom endeavors. Parents are busy people and being sensitive to their time is essential. Phone calls
and written communication to parents will be simple and straightforward. Also sensitivity to cultural
differences can support the goal of communicating with multicultural families. When communicating
to bilingual and multiethnic families it would be optimal for me to have the materials, whether its
notes, phone calls or newsletters translated into their native language. Since many parents are guarded
when they receive a note or phone call from their child s teacher, I will implement a plan to send home
letters of commendation and support to enhance the communication with the student s family. No
matter what type of communication is used letting parents know immediately if there are any concerns
will aid in working together to prevent potential problems. Integrating Instructional

Anchor Club Reflection
For the past four years, I have played a significant role in the Putnam County High School Anchor
Club. Though the club was small and a little disorganized my freshman year, it has grown to become a
prominent part of my life and a major key to my success. In these four years, the Anchor Club has
helped me grow to become the leader I am today. I now serve as the President of our Anchor Club. I
believe my leadership has helped the club reach its full potential for success. Each year, our club
participates in annual events sponsored by our Pilot and/or Anchor Clubs. For example, every
Halloween, a canned food drive event is held, sponsored by the Anchors. Our club members, in
collaboration with Putnam Christian Outreach, play a major role in the success of the annual food
drive. I also participate in numerous other annual events, such as Project Linus, the Dairy Festival,
anti bullying week, a shopping spree at the nursing home, and Christmas events for our district s
special education program. I have also played a key role in multiple fundraising events, particularly
the Ferst Foundation community yard sale, but also in planning and executing bake sales, dress down

European Imperialism Dbq Essay
For the 300 years between 1500 and 1800,European nations traded for slaves, gold, and ivory along the
west coast of africa, but they did not go deeply into the continent. In the 1880s Africa was under full
assault as European nations competed with one another for control of the continent. The driving force
behind European imperialism is power and they gain it by getting control and resources of Africa and
they justify it all by saying it was their duty as more civilised nations to make other nations as
civilized as theirs.
The first thing that European countries needed was control over Africa and many countries tried to do
so and this led to competition between almost all nations. This can be seen in document A because it
shows a map of the many locations other countries have taken as theirs. Control was a big factor in all
of this but it is only one of the many factors that comes in when a country wants power.
The next thing that the European countries needed was resourses for the mother country can get more
wealthy and better in supply. This can be seen in document D, and E because document D shows the
exports from Africa and how the mother country is using the resources to further the country s power
by advancing in technology, and document E shows the many imports and ... Show more content on

The Federal Express Air Carrier Service
Abstract
Federal Express is a company that was founded on the idea from a term paper created by a Yale
Undergraduate student, Frederick Smith. Smith was able to envision a future with successful, global
air carrier services that delivered what the customer wanted. Using this vision and staying true to the
company values Smith grew his small company in the second largest global carrier. FedEx was built
through hard work and dedication to a better service. FedEx is a strong company today and continues
to deliver packages all over the world from their base in Memphis Tennessee. Keywords: FedEx,
Federal, Express, airline, carrier, services The History of the Federal Express Air Carrier Service
People are always looking for faster and more efficient ways to ship packages. Stores and suppliers
are anxious to deliver their goods faster, and customers are anxious to receive their items sooner.
When the first airplane took flight a new industry was born, air cargo. The first shipment ever
recorded was small parcel of silk sent from a department store to a customer who was pleased to
receive the package faster than previously possible. Since then, this business has developed into a
global industry providing package delivery around the world. One of the leaders in this industry is
Federal Express, now known as FedEx.

industry, it wasn t a new concept.

The Course of Political Development in Uganda and its...
The Course of Political Development in Uganda and its Effect on Economic Development
Development has recently become a new buzz word in international relations. Through an exploration
of political, social and economic development around the globe, scholars are trying to understand
which policies are most beneficial, and why certain policies are effective and why some fail. The
connection between different types of development is often an important part of this research as well.
The connection between political and economic development is of specific interest since the end of the
Cold War and the failure of most communist based systems. The emergence of capitalism as the
dominant world economic system at the conclusion of the Cold ... Show more content on

Political and economic development in Uganda based on these terms provides a strong case for the
relationship between the two. The lack of political development in Uganda since independence from
Britain in 1962 has hindered economic development and it was not until recent political stability that
Uganda has been able to experience any sort of economic development.
To understand the political development in Uganda, it is important to start shortly before 1962 to
examine the political atmosphere of independence. Under the colonial system, Uganda was a
protectorate, meaning that land rights of Africans were respected, despite the commonplace of forced
labor and high taxes. In 1961 Uganda was granted self rule before gaining full independence in 1962.
With the granting of self rule, three major political parties formed, the Uganda People s Congress
(UPC), the Democratic Party (DP) and the Kabaka Yekka (KY). The main platform of the UPC was
nationalist and the party strived to unite all Ugandans despite ethnic differences. The KY was mainly
an ethnic party consisting of the Baganda people who were the most favored under British rule. An
alliance between the UPC and KY gave them more collective strength than the DP and increased the
political power of Milton Obote.
At independence in 1962, Obote, of the UPC, was appointed Prime

The Dodge Challenger, Dodge s answer to the Ford Mustang... Six years too late. The Challenger
came out in 1970 to compete with Chevy s Camaro and Ford s Mustang. The Camaro and Mustang
were already too far ahead anf Dodge had to struggle. Dodge tried hard to make the Challenger seem
like a cool car by having performance borrowed from the Dodge Charger with an insane choice of
Nine different engines were available which ranged from family friendly v6 s to insane Hemi v8 s
pulling 400 plus horsepower, way more than the current Camaro and Mustang. After just one year the
Challenger received minor style updates enhancements that included two tail lights instead of a single
one in the rear like the Charger. The Challenger was changed throughout its first generation. Despite
the effort Dodge decided to cease production after only four years.
Dodge Challenger returned in 1978 as a rebadged Mitsubishi Galant Lambda with a design that was
already two years old. (Challenger Wiki) Which just means the Challenger wasn t even a pony car
anymore just a family car. Despite being sportier than the Mitsubishi model it did not live up to its

Verification of the Dead Sea Scrolls
This was arguably Professor Albright s greatest achievement in verifying the authenticity of the Dead
Sea Scrolls. Professor Albright, There is no doubt in my mind that the script is more archaic than that
of the Nash papyrus (a very small portion of the Old Testament dated between the second century b.c.

noteworthy work was working with the Dead Sea Scrolls, it was his innovative work in the field of

The City Of Karratha Region Of North East Western Australia
The City of Karratha is in the Pilbara region of north east Western Australia. It was renamed from the
Shire of Roebourne to the City of Karratha on the 1st of July 2014. The surrounding region contains
the Burrup Peninsula an area filled with petroglyphs, engravings in the rock which have been around
for over 30,000 years. This is evidence of occupation of the Aboriginal people in this area and may
even show a sign of the world s first counting system.
The mining industry in the area has boomed, and the City of Karratha is now home to many people
working in the industry. The iron ore in the area is of particular interest.
The Burrup Peninsula is not particularly cared for. There are acts of vandalism by tourists and locals
alike who sign their names on prehistoric artworks unfortunately, this can damage the rock art and can
cover the artwork that proves human inhabitancy from over 30,000 years ago. Vandalism would be
bad enough for the rock art alone but the Western Australian government shows no signs of stopping
its approval of the many mining developments in the region. Unfortunately, this rock art cannot be
replaced or removed without serious damage the whole area is rich in resources, so the mining
developments could be moved, or at least new developments approved away from these sites.
In several cases petroglyphs have been removed for the sake of mining in the Burrup Peninsula. For
example, approximately 150 petroglyphs were removed to make room for a natural

Torrent Downloads is Piracy
Torrent Downloads
Is copying a digital content and sharing it online count as a crime? Most people will answer No
because people will think they are just copying the same file that they already bought the licenses for
and sharing it to their friends, however, it is going against the copyright law if the company attached a
legal document to inform the user they could not share it for each digital content. Torrent downloads
or what is known on the web Pirate Downloads, works by having a user seeding a particular content to
a website such as Pirate Bay, Torrentz, ExtraTorrent, and many more are available for the public to
leech to their computers. Companies cannot force the law to be international because people do not
agree to banned pirate downloads and it does not have dramatic effect on all international
governments. Pirate download are becoming threat to media production companies, companies loss
mass amount money, people are getting digital products for free, and in addition, companies will
always be the first source to download the digital content.
When I speak about piracy, I mean the act of copying and sharing data online videos, software, music
etc. Torrent downloads are becoming threat to media production companies because companies put a
lot of time and effort to release a good song or a music video and for a website to buy one for few
dollars and just sharing it for people across the world who did not pay for it makes the company lose

Ancient Greek And Rome s Impact On Western Literature
The impact greek and roman culture had on western civilization
The ancient Greeks and Romans were two of the greatest civilizations of the ancient world. The two
civilizations thrived in their ancient environments which eventually led to a large amount of wealth
within these two cultures. It is because of this that these ancient cultures were able to make a variety
of advancements in literature, architecture, art and many other fields. These two civilizations also
produced some of the ancient world s greatest leaders and philosophers. The cultures of ancient

Architecture played a role in both the religion and daily life of ancient Greek society. The Greeks
produced some of the world s strongest architectural monuments, many of which are still standing
today. These include the Temple of Zeus, and the Temple of Poseidon. Probably one of the largest
contributions of the ancient Greeks to western civilization in regard to architecture was their
development of the three fundamental architectural systems of design, the Doric, Iconic, and
Corinthian orders. The following excerpt from an article published by The Metropolitan Museum of
Art describes the lasting influences of these three orders of Greek architecture, Ancient Greek
architects strove for the precision and excellence of workmanship that are the hallmarks of Greek art
in general. The formulas they invented as early as the sixth century B.C. have influenced the
architecture of the past two millennia (Hemingway). All of these three ancient Greek orders of
architecture can still be seen today in famous national monuments such as the White House, the
Lincoln Memorial, and Monticello. The Romans also made many contributions to western civilization
in architecture. Some of the Romans most important developments in the field of architecture include
the development of the arch, the vault, and concrete. The most notable of these was concrete because
that revolutionized building. The following excerpt from an article published by

The Hours By Michael Cunningham
Mommy, I love you
The Hours written by Michael Cunningham focuses on three different women, Clarissa Vaughan,
Laura Brown, and Virginia Woolf to show how they react differently to different things of daily
events. The three women change their perspectives as the story goes on. And through different events
and obstacles in the book, we can see how they approach and solve the issues differently. Michael
Cunningham, the author uses the characters of Virginia Woolf and Laura Brown to show how they try
to create separation with different family members, but they both fail to understand how much their
family needs them.
Laura Brown is extremely stressed out becoming mother again and she is trying her best to become a

How Childhood Is The Most Influential Stage Of Life
Some say that childhood is the most influential stage of life, the stage that shapes the future for that
child into how they will develop into adulthood. With this in mind, we are always watching what our
children are learning, and providing them with the building blocks that will help them grow up into a
good person someday, we watch and guide them, being careful they are not exposed to some things
too early and others not too late. Take fairy tales for example. Kids today know all the fairy tales, or at
least most of them. But they only know what we let them see, which, in most cases is the revised
Disney version of fairy tales that always have a happy ending and are therefore deemed appropriate
for young children. However now some are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This name came from her appearance, as she was always covered in dust and dirt from sleeping in the
ashes by the fire (Grimm 1).Although the main abuse that is depicted in this story is attributed to
Cinderella, the stepsisters are also abused by their mother. When the prince urges them to try on the
shoe, each of their feet did not fit. For one her toes did not fit, and so her mother told her to cut off her
big toe in order to make it fit. As for the other, her heel was too large and therefore she was told to cut
a piece of her heel off. And to both girls she had used the same phrase; Cut off [a piece of your
heel/your toe]. When you are queen you will no longer have to go on foot. (Grimm 4) which shows
how she encouraged the girls to mutilate themselves. This in an of itself is terrible and in the end it
didn t even work. Aside from the amount of abuse that is depicted in this story, it also paints a
negative picture of what having a stepfamily is like. Children tend to try and apply what they learn to
their lives, and if they get this idea of stepfamily treating others badly, it may affect them in the future,
should they ever become a part of one. They may make assumptions about them from what they have

Is Inequality Natural
Is Inequality Natural? During the Enlightenment era, a critical concept addressed by many prominent
authors was the equality of humankind. In Enlightenment terms, inequality can be defined as the
difference in qualities capable of demanding respect (Rousseau 1995: 425), such as strength or skill,
as well as difference in civil rights and liberties of man. Both definitions will be used in this essay, as
well as how they are related. In Jean Jacques Rousseau s Discourse on the Origin of Inequality, nature,
or the natural state of man, is portrayed as man before the rise of any social order. This essay will
analyze man in this natural state to determine that humans are naturally unequal, and it is only through
submission to a social contract ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen (DRMC) states that, Men are born and remain
free and equal in rights (French Nat. Assembly 1995: 467). So, using this logic, yes, humans are equal
and entitled to the same rights and freedom of every other human being. Yet in nature, there is nothing
that necessarily protects those rights and freedoms. Who is going to stop a stronger, more powerful
enemy from ignoring these rights and enslaving those weaker than himself? Thomas Paine answers
this question in his essay entitled African Slavery in America. He declares that every man has a
natural, perfect right to their freedom, and it is the job of the government to, set them free, and punish
those who hold them in slavery (Paine 1995: 647). Furthermore, the DRMC states that The aim of
every political association is the preservation of the natural and inalienable rights of man. It is the role
of government to protect the rights of its citizens. Rousseau held that this social order is a sacred right
which is the basis of all rights. He goes on to argue that this right is not of nature, and must be
founded on conventions (Rousseau 1995: 431). The only rights that nature guarantees for someone are
those that they can defend for themselves. Therefore, by nature, rights are unequal from one being to
the next, just as talents, strengths, and abilities are unequal. However, a person s claim to a social
order guarantees them a protection of rights and freedoms that they can gain in no other way. Of
course, during the time of these writings there were oppressed members of society, that even though
they did their part, did not receive these same protections. In America alone, African Americans,
Native Americans, women, etc. all were excluded from the equal rights promised to white males.

Demolition Man Dystopian Elements
Intro: The main dystopian element used in the book the host and the movie demolition man is citizens
conform to uniform expectations and rebel. This dystopian element is being portrayed by the act of
feminists, and through the baltimore riots in our world today. Without these think different people the
outcomes of their societies might still be in perish. Explain how the dystopian element is present in the
book.

The dystopian element is similar to source #1 the host because they both have citizens who want to
take their world back. Within the movie Demolition Man the main character John Spartan choses to
lead a rebellion against the new government leader because of his unjust ways of living. John goes
down into the under living areas where people don t follow the rules up above and have their own way
of living. The sewer people consider John to be a blessing in disguise causing them to get riled up and
deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau. Demolition Man shows how citizens conform to uniform
expectations and rebel by the sewer people deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau the leader of the
normal world. This is also demonstrated in The Host when Melanie beings to take back her own body
and rebels against Wanda. The Sewer people in Demolition Man effect the society up above because
they take their food also show them their way of living by wearing whatever they want and doing
whatever they want. Inside the dystopian society another main character Simon Phoenix breaks many
laws also getting a small amount of people to follow him into battle against the above world. Simone
leads with John Spartan in order to get their city back to the way it was originally and towards the end
of the movie they succeed. After Simone kills Dr. Cocteau John leads the sewer people up from under
the world and shows them their new world they then begin to ignore all of the old laws and the
citizens from up above follow the new rules and many continue to join making their new world. This
finale act of rebellion shows how even small acts can lead to big changes. The dystopian element of
citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel act as a bonding path of Demolition man and the
host as both main characters cause a rebellion so big that they end up

Sexual Assault In The Hunting Ground
Imagine this, you just moved into your dorm at your first choice of school ready to start the next four
years of college, only to get taken advantage of sexually by an upperclassman at your first college
party. This is just one of the many scenarios the documentary The Hunting Ground tells and happens
to sixteen percent of women who start their college careers. The film tells the inspirational story of
Andrea Pino and Annie Clark, two UNC Chapel Hill graduates, and their continuous journey to end
sexual assaults on college campuses and to motivate schools to stand up for their students. While
sexual assault has unfortunately always been a part of the college experience, the epidemic has
reached a breaking point in recent years, and the documentary ... Show more content on

Dreaming In Cuban Character Analysis
3Cristina Gracia book Dreaming in Cuban focus on many women and their families. In the book, there
are three women I will be focusing on called Pilar, Celia and Lourdes. The character Pilar, when
compared to her mother Lourdes, shows why she is a good character with a likable personality for a
younger audience.
Pilar through the book shows she is uncommitted to her family, and it can be assumed that she doesn t
like her mother Lourdes and tolerates her father. Pilar even tries to leave her town in Brooklyn, New
York I m going back to Cuba. I m fed up with everything around here. (25) says Pilar. You learn that
Pilar is against working in her mother s bakery, that she s Slaving away (25) in there. Pilar can be seen
as relatable with not wanting to work under her mother s job but rather learn to paint and do
something more inspiring to herself.

about her own grandmother in Cuba doesn t help. To keep something like a grudge shouldn t be seen
as uncommon. I feel like its likable and relatable for someone to not change so quickly on one s inner
true feeling and thoughts. The feeling of losing your identity and your family can be felt relatable to a
younger audience suffering close, to any family problems. Pilar is a teenager going through self wants
and trying to find herself in her time of life and a younger audience can see themselves in this. To

Does The Huntsman Winter s War Exist
I can t figure out why The Huntsman: Winter s War exists. Honestly. The movie s a rare cinematic do
over an opportunity to re enter a flawed story (the one told in 2012 s Snow White and the Huntsman)
with the intention of salvaging the tiny bits that worked the first time, while also course correcting and
removing the parts the audience deemed unnecessary. Only, that doesn t happen. This peculiar, hybrid
prequel/sequel commits the same mistakes as its predecessor, and ends up being as shapeless,
nondescript and unimaginative as Snow Whitewas... only this time, they don t have Kristen Stewart to
blame.
So, what went wrong? As far as I can tell, the producers miscalculated just how interesting Chris
Hemsworth s rugged fairy tale warrior, Eric, was, or could be. His character in Snow White was
neither a love interest nor a savior. He lived in the narrative shadow of his leading lady, while both
Stewart and Hemsworth repeatedly were eclipsed by the scenery chewing of Charlize Theron s evil
queen, Ravenna. I can t remember a single non Theron scene from Snow White and the Huntsman.
Her presence was just that dominant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dark subplot tied to Freya involving the loss of an infant that had me wondering if Huntsman was

Ancient Chinese Ink Techniques In The 21st Century
Ancient Chinese Ink Techniques in the 21st Century.
As the paint brush dips into the paint and watching the brush the brush form perfect lines, knowing
that the art that is being created is what one is expressing. Art and design has been influencing our
lives since the dawn of the ages. Art has been created on cave walls, has been formed in architecture,
and continues to grow and expand. Art is very beautiful, but also is a matter of expression. Art can
mean many things such as love, concern, anger, desire, and politics. Two Chinese born ink artists by
the name of Zhang Daqain, and Hua Tunan have become well known traditional Chinese ink artists.
More known for his landscape designs, Zhang Daqain has incorporated splashes and pops of color in
these traditional looking drawings. Through the decades, other artists have learned traditional ink
drawings but have also developed other artistic ways to express who they are. For example, one artist,
Hua Tunan, is a young artist who has experimented with graffiti and in his favor, was a success. Both
artists are advocates for nature being their primary subjects. From mountainous ranges to flowers, to
detailed portraits of animals, these paintings bring awareness to people about the beauty on our planet.
One of Zhang s work from Art of Asian Landscapes contains bold colors just like in Hua Tunan s art
like his ink splattered tiger. Zhang Daqain and Hua tunan are both amazing artists that have created
exquisite artwork

Oticon Change Management
How was the resistance to change overcome by Oticon? Change is generating resistance and that can
be attributed to different factors (Buchanan amp; Huczynski 2004). What is important is how a
company can handle and overcome the resistance to change in order to accomplish this difficult
process. It has to be mentioned that, at a certain moment in time, different parts of the same
organisation can be at different stages of the change. There are five main stages addressed by each
individual that goes through a change process: Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance The
timeline of the Oticon change did last for 6 years, until positive results reported in 1994. After 2 years

Burns listed many definitions of organisational culture, and a more simplistic and reductionist one is:
Culture is how things are done around here (Burnes 2004 p.170). The change in Oticon can be seen as
a Re Creation or Corporate transformation i.e. frame breaking or discontinuous change that impacts
the whole organisation. This means the culture in the organisation will have to change to enable
sustainability of the competitive edge. This is the reason why all things reminding of the past and the
old culture had to disappear. Burke and Litwin (1992) consider that a transformational change
involves a paradigm shift, and completely new behaviours. Instead of changes designed to help the
organisation do things better (incremental change) the organisation needs to do things differently or do
different things (Hayes 2007 p.121). There are four main pillars to success in this type of cultural
change (The Denison Model): * Consistency * Mission * Involvement * Adaptability Lars Kolind
used those 4 main streams in the processes of build, implement, develop and communicate this vision.
Stakeholders were also involved in the in the process as he needed their support in adapting the
company to better respond to market requests. References BUCHANAN, D. and HUCZYNSKI, A.,

More recently, the food trend has turned into pre heated or pre cooked meals to take away (Schlosser,
2001).
In recent years, the fast food industry has been facing significant challenges due to the increase in the
consumer awareness on the production process and health concerns. The consumer awareness on
health factors and the marketers detecting the possibility of change in the consumer taste have led the
firms to expand their product lines in drinks more healthy foods (Schlosser, 2001). In other words, the
industry is fighting saturation by creating a much more diverse variety of offerings.
2 What are Organic Foods?
The changes in the consumer taste and the increase in the consumer awareness in eating healthy
products and organic foods have increased immensely in the past few years throughout the whole
world as well as the UK (BBC, 2001).
To have a healthy life, eating organic and healthy is a great way to start. The confusion among the
consumers is due to lack of information towards nutrition and individually the amount and what the
body needs. It is not only going to a shop and purchasing fruits, vegetables, whole grains etc. but
being aware of how these goods are grown raised and how they would influence the individual s
health and the environment.
The expression organic denotes the way agricultural products are grown and processed (Fromartz,
2006). Certain requirements should be met in order for a product to get the label organic such as

II accelerates Anne s, Jeanne s and Elie s precious maturity and coming of age process. World War II,
the Nazis and their identity of being Jewish forces Anne and Elie to grow up and mature much sooner

being a software developer might not be ready to manage a project and as a result I might not do well

concept of the project implies to the addition of extra features or more polishing the features to the
planned project, i.e. adding functionality or process beyond the scope of the project. The project team
members mainly the developing team have tendency to continue working on a task beyond the
requirements. The developers put extra time on the task to enhance the product or improvising the
features thinking that the client would be interested with polished product. This extra effort might or
might not add value to the project, might also disappoint the client, as the product didn t match the

Elasticity Of Demand And Supply
Elasticity of Demand and Supply
INTRODUCTION:
Elasticity : In Economics, how responsive an economic variable is to a change in another is the
measurement of elasticity. It is an unit free measure. By using Elasticities, we can measure the two
markets of price and quantity. The difference among markets can be quantified by the economist using
elasticities without the measurement of the units. It is the responsiveness of one variable (demand or
supply) to a change in another (e.g. cost). This idea is basic to appreciating how advertises function.
The most widely recognized versatilities utilized incorporate value flexibility of interest, value
flexibility of supply, cross value flexibility of interest and pay flexibility of interest.
The Equation of Elasticity is = % of change in quantity / % of change in price.
Elasticity of Demand :
Elasticity of Demand also referred to as Price Elasticity of Demand in Economic measures is based on
the effect of how the quantity demanded is changed when there is change in the price. With respect to
price it is the quantity demanded responsiveness degree. For example lets consider a case in the below
figure, where there is elastic demand when the curve is almost flat. You can see that, the quantity
decreases a lot if there is a change in price from $.75 to $1. There can be many reasons for this On the
off chance that demand is extremely inelastic, then vast changes in cost won t do particularly to the
amount requested. For example,

Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger,...
Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger, written by Albert
Camus?
Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger, written by
Albert Camus? This is a question that naturally protrudes throughout the novel, as it is not abundantly
clear what Meursault, the protagonist, was, in fact, put on trial for. At the beginning of the second part
of the narrative, it is understood that he is put on trial for the murder of an Arab; however, it later
comes to our attention that the murder was not the primary reason of his trial, and perhaps not even an
essential one for that matter. The fact remains that
Meursault was undoubtedly put on trial, not for the murder committed, but for being the way he was:
unemotional through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer is simple: it does not relate to the murder of the
Arab. Being the representative of society, the jury opposes Meursault and accuses him of not
conforming to society s natural ways, and being what we nowadays refer to as the odd one out . They
exclude him from society for his odd clear cut and sincere demeanor, and for his manifestation of an
inexpressive character.
Another example is the moment in which the magistrate, a local member of the judiciary having
limited jurisdiction, especially in criminal cases, questioned Meursault. In this particular scene, the
magistrate changes the topic rather abruptly from his love for Maman, to which he responded he loved
the same as anyone (p. 67), to the murder scene.
What followed was a vast discussion on Meursault s belief in God, which he felt rather apathetic
about; however, the magistrate, waving a crucifix to his face refers to him as the antichrist (p. 71). And
later, during the trial, the judge and the prosecuting attorney seem more intrigued by the fact that
Meursault did not grieve at his mother s funeral and got involved with Marie the day after it, than the
actual act that had been committed: the assassination of a man.
The majority of the witnesses that had been called only supported the argument of his callous nature,
as they very well knew that Meursault was frighteningly candid, and could not, or would not, create a

Men Approaching Death
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas describes how men feel when approaching
death. The readers are encouraged to approach death with hesitation because you can offer a lot more
to this world if you have the determination to live longer. Thomas use of literary devices emphasize
this idea and gives examples of how men approach death.
The poem begins with the speaker talking to an unknown listener and ends by telling us that the
unknown listener is the speaker s father. The speaker describes the behaviors of various types of
outstanding men and how they view their lives. Throughout the poem, the speaker encourages the
reader to fight until their last dying breath. Thomas directly relates to this poem because it was written
as he watched his father wither away. This poem symbolizes his father s determination to fight.
The structure of the poem itself is a very important factor, as it describes the different views of men ...

Darkness symbolizes death and how it is inevitable. Death is something that everyone will experience
but that does not mean one should allow it to define them. People are should fight for as long as they
can before they greet death and that is exactly what Thomas is trying to say in the second stanza.
Thomas uses the experiences of the noble men in the third stanza to show that they were contempt
with what they did with their life but acknowledge that there is still more time for them. The noble
men are to rage against the dying of the light as they are on their last wave (9). They reminisce on
their pasts together and become aware that although they are near their end they can still accomplish
more in life. Moreover, they approach death with hesitation because they feel like they haven t done
the most they can with their life. They fight against death to try and utilize the time they still have

Emily Dickinsons View On Religion
Everybody has a different view on religion and its existence. Emily Dickinson, an objective poet
acting as a detached observer, describes what she has seen or heard and brings her own reflections on
the things she has experienced. Objective poetry is impersonal, which allows readers to be open to
different interpretations; it allows the facts to represent themselves and not be impacted by the
individual values and predispositions of the poet. Dickinson s poem, Prayer is the Little Implement ,
exemplifies a true objective piece. Emily asks how someone could reach the heavens when God has
denied his presence. Because God hides himself from human presence, men fling their prayers. They
fling their despairs and request into God s ear, on the

By using social media this way in the classroom, students can unite with other cultures and societies to become more aware of the world. Although many households do have access to computers, there are some families who would prefer to communicate the old fashioned or traditional way. For those families a class newsletter, phone call, written note or face to face communication can increase the level of two way communication. It may also be a practical way to inform parents of future events and classroom endeavors. Parents are busy people and being sensitive to their time is essential. Phone calls and written communication to parents will be simple and straightforward. Also sensitivity to cultural differences can support the goal of communicating with multicultural families. When communicating to bilingual and multiethnic families it would be optimal for me to have the materials, whether its notes, phone calls or newsletters translated into their native language. Since many parents are guarded when they receive a note or phone call from their child s teacher, I will implement a plan to send home letters of commendation and support to enhance the communication with the student s family. No matter what type of communication is used letting parents know immediately if there are any concerns will aid in working together to prevent potential problems. Integrating Instructional ... • 3. Anchor Club Reflection For the past four years, I have played a significant role in the Putnam County High School Anchor Club. Though the club was small and a little disorganized my freshman year, it has grown to become a prominent part of my life and a major key to my success. In these four years, the Anchor Club has helped me grow to become the leader I am today. I now serve as the President of our Anchor Club. I believe my leadership has helped the club reach its full potential for success. Each year, our club participates in annual events sponsored by our Pilot and/or Anchor Clubs. For example, every Halloween, a canned food drive event is held, sponsored by the Anchors. Our club members, in collaboration with Putnam Christian Outreach, play a major role in the success of the annual food drive. I also participate in numerous other annual events, such as Project Linus, the Dairy Festival, anti bullying week, a shopping spree at the nursing home, and Christmas events for our district s special education program. I have also played a key role in multiple fundraising events, particularly the Ferst Foundation community yard sale, but also in planning and executing bake sales, dress down days, ... European Imperialism Dbq Essay For the 300 years between 1500 and 1800,European nations traded for slaves, gold, and ivory along the west coast of africa, but they did not go deeply into the continent. In the 1880s Africa was under full assault as European nations competed with one another for control of the continent. The driving force behind European imperialism is power and they gain it by getting control and resources of Africa and they justify it all by saying it was their duty as more civilised nations to make other nations as civilized as theirs. The first thing that European countries needed was control over Africa and many countries tried to do so and this led to competition between almost all nations. The lack of political development in Uganda since independence from Britain in 1962 has hindered economic development and it was not until recent political stability that Uganda has been able to experience any sort of economic development. To understand the political development in Uganda, it is important to start shortly before 1962 to examine the political atmosphere of independence. Under the colonial system, Uganda was a protectorate, meaning that land rights of Africans were respected, despite the commonplace of forced labor and high taxes. In 1961 Uganda was granted self rule before gaining full independence in 1962. With the granting of self rule, three major political parties formed, the Uganda People s Congress (UPC), the Democratic Party (DP) and the Kabaka Yekka (KY). The main platform of the UPC was nationalist and the party strived to unite all Ugandans despite ethnic differences. The KY was mainly an ethnic party consisting of the Baganda people who were the most favored under British rule. I would prefer a date around 100 b.c.... Inside the archaeological community and the general public, Albright received critical acclaim. Although, Professor Albright s most noteworthy work was working with the Dead Sea Scrolls, it was his innovative work in the field of biblical archaeology that had the biggest impact. Professor Albright, More than any other scholar Albright s astounding corpus of books, articles, and public lectures defined a new relationship between archaeology and biblical studies. Professor Albright one states Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the Bible as a source of history. It was renamed from the Shire of Roebourne to the City of Karratha on the 1st of July 2014. The surrounding region contains the Burrup Peninsula an area filled with petroglyphs, engravings in the rock which have been around for over 30,000 years. This is evidence of occupation of the Aboriginal people in this area and may even show a sign of the world s first counting system. The mining industry in the area has boomed, and the City of Karratha is now home to many people working in the industry. The iron ore in the area is of particular interest. The Burrup Peninsula is not particularly cared for. There are acts of vandalism by tourists and locals alike who sign their names on prehistoric artworks unfortunately, this can damage the rock art and can cover the artwork that proves human inhabitancy from over 30,000 years ago. Vandalism would be bad enough for the rock art alone but the Western Australian government shows no signs of stopping its approval of the many mining developments in the region. Unfortunately, this rock art cannot be replaced or removed without serious damage the whole area is rich in resources, so the mining developments could be moved, or at least new developments approved away from these sites. In several cases petroglyphs have been removed for the sake of mining in the Burrup Peninsula. For example, approximately 150 petroglyphs were removed to make room for a natural ... With this in mind, we are always watching what our children are learning, and providing them with the building blocks that will help them grow up into a good person someday, we watch and guide them, being careful they are not exposed to some things too early and others not too late. Take fairy tales for example. Kids today know all the fairy tales, or at least most of them. • 21. Is Inequality Natural Is Inequality Natural? During the Enlightenment era, a critical concept addressed by many prominent authors was the equality of humankind. In Enlightenment terms, inequality can be defined as the difference in qualities capable of demanding respect (Rousseau 1995: 425), such as strength or skill, as well as difference in civil rights and liberties of man. Both definitions will be used in this essay, as well as how they are related. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen (DRMC) states that, Men are born and remain free and equal in rights (French Nat. Assembly 1995: 467). So, using this logic, yes, humans are equal and entitled to the same rights and freedom of every other human being. Yet in nature, there is nothing that necessarily protects those rights and freedoms. Who is going to stop a stronger, more powerful enemy from ignoring these rights and enslaving those weaker than himself? Thomas Paine answers this question in his essay entitled African Slavery in America. He declares that every man has a natural, perfect right to their freedom, and it is the job of the government to, set them free, and punish those who hold them in slavery (Paine 1995: 647). Furthermore, the DRMC states that The aim of every political association is the preservation of the natural and inalienable rights of man. It is the role of government to protect the rights of its citizens. Rousseau held that this social order is a sacred right which is the basis of all rights. He goes on to argue that this right is not of nature, and must be founded on conventions (Rousseau 1995: 431). The only rights that nature guarantees for someone are those that they can defend for themselves. Therefore, by nature, rights are unequal from one being to the next, just as talents, strengths, and abilities are unequal. However, a person s claim to a social order guarantees them a protection of rights and freedoms that they can gain in no other way. Of course, during the time of these writings there were oppressed members of society, that even though they did their part, did not receive these same protections. In America alone, African Americans, Native Americans, women, etc. all were excluded from the equal rights promised to white males. Despite forward ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Elasticity Of Demand And Supply Elasticity of Demand and Supply INTRODUCTION: Elasticity : In Economics, how responsive an economic variable is to a change in another is the measurement of elasticity. It is an unit free measure. By using Elasticities, we can measure the two markets of price and quantity. The difference among markets can be quantified by the economist using elasticities without the measurement of the units. It is the responsiveness of one variable (demand or supply) to a change in another (e.g. cost). This idea is basic to appreciating how advertises function. The most widely recognized versatilities utilized incorporate value flexibility of interest, value flexibility of supply, cross value flexibility of interest and pay flexibility of interest. The Equation of Elasticity is = % of change in quantity / % of change in price. Elasticity of Demand : Elasticity of Demand also referred to as Price Elasticity of Demand in Economic measures is based on the effect of how the quantity demanded is changed when there is change in the price. With respect to price it is the quantity demanded responsiveness degree. • 36. Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger,... Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger, written by Albert Camus? Is there truly any justice in the novel The Stranger, written by Albert Camus? This is a question that naturally protrudes throughout the novel, as it is not abundantly clear what Meursault, the protagonist, was, in fact, put on trial for. At the beginning of the second part of the narrative, it is understood that he is put on trial for the murder of an Arab; however, it later comes to our attention that the murder was not the primary reason of his trial, and perhaps not even an essential one for that matter. The fact remains that Meursault was undoubtedly put on trial, not for the murder committed, but for being the way he was: unemotional through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The answer is simple: it does not relate to the murder of the Arab. Being the representative of society, the jury opposes Meursault and accuses him of not conforming to society s natural ways, and being what we nowadays refer to as the odd one out . They exclude him from society for his odd clear cut and sincere demeanor, and for his manifestation of an inexpressive character. Another example is the moment in which the magistrate, a local member of the judiciary having limited jurisdiction, especially in criminal cases, questioned Meursault. In this particular scene, the magistrate changes the topic rather abruptly from his love for Maman, to which he responded he loved the same as anyone (p. 67), to the murder scene. What followed was a vast discussion on Meursault s belief in God, which he felt rather apathetic about; however, the magistrate, waving a crucifix to his face refers to him as the antichrist (p. 71). And later, during the trial, the judge and the prosecuting attorney seem more intrigued by the fact that Meursault did not grieve at his mother s funeral and got involved with Marie the day after it, than the actual act that had been committed: the assassination of a man. The majority of the witnesses that had been called only supported the argument of his callous nature, as they very well knew that Meursault was frighteningly candid, and could not, or would not, create a ... • 39. Emily Dickinsons View On Religion Everybody has a different view on religion and its existence. Emily Dickinson, an objective poet acting as a detached observer, describes what she has seen or heard and brings her own reflections on the things she has experienced. Objective poetry is impersonal, which allows readers to be open to different interpretations; it allows the facts to represent themselves and not be impacted by the individual values and predispositions of the poet. Dickinson s poem, Prayer is the Little Implement , exemplifies a true objective piece. Emily asks how someone could reach the heavens when God has denied his presence. Because God hides himself from human presence, men fling their prayers. They fling their despairs and request into God s ear, on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
