Necessary Evil
Words That Give Direction: Support, Refute, Qualify
Important Words: Support, Belief support: experienced father, naive/innocent boy belief: state in thesis
Thesis: In Cormac McCarthy s The Road, the idea that someone cannot experience goodness before
they discover evil is strengthened by the dynamic between the cautious father and the naive and
innocent nature of the boy.
Paragraph 1: father s struggle with morality
CD1: fell back instantly and lay with blood bubbling from a hole in his head,
CD2: the boy crying and looking back at the nude and slatlike creature standing there in the road and
shivering and hugging himself
Paragraph 2: boy s compassion
CD1: carrying the fire

As the man faces choosing lesser evils in order to survive, he compliments the goodness found in his
son, who instead of basing his actions off his own survival, he bases them off his innocent desire to be
and do good, as he asks his father on several occasions after partaking in questionable acts if they are
still carrying the fire. While his father is preoccupied with survival, he is focused on helping those
survivors he sees around him in a naive hope to be the good guy. At one point, his father thinks death
is right around the corner and tells his son to take the gun, but his son refuses saying, I don t want the
gun, (70.5 6). The boy only associates the gun with its ability to take life away, excluding the
protection it gives him and his father, which in his eyes makes the gun a symbol of evil and
destruction; something he wishes to be separate from. However, the boy takes the gun anyways,
finally realizing that its evil is necessary in order to survive, so that he may continue to carry the fire

Of Mice And Men Book Vs Movie Essay
In the movie, Of Mice and Men the scene in Weed was a lot different than the one explained in the
book. First the girl is actually chasing them which didn t happen in the book. They also were chasing
Lennie and George, not looking for them. I think the director chose to do it this way because it adds
more to the story then seen in the movie ,and makes it more interesting. It s also the beginning of the
story so he probably wanted to draw you in. This changes the story. The director probably chose to
start the story on a train for many reasons. First, it is pretty much a good way to start a movie. The
director also might have done this because he wanted to show that they were leaving Weed. The
director is telling us that George s life, has a lot of trains and transportation in it, because he moves
around so much! This is also due to Lennie s behavior, getting them kicked of town, after town, after
town. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He encounters Curley s wife and he is alone with her. She starts to ask him questions. Another scene
that we see in the movie that is not presented through the book is when George and Lennie are
working together and to load up the wagon when Curley s wife comes along. These new scenes add
more of the loneliness factor that I have noticed throughout the book and the movie. I think they show
the audience how desperate and lonely she is to talk to someone. I had different emotions throughout
the book and movie. I One was that Lennie was useless in the beginning of the book and movie..
Another emotion that I had was towards George. I thought he was just bossing around Lennie and
trying to make fun of him like when he told Lennie to jump in a river, he jumps and forgets after
George saves him. But, then he I guess saw that George killed Lennie out of love so he won t suffer

In this case study, the intangible factors include Kelly s cultural propensity towards emphasising her
entitlement to use her accumulated sick leave while Mr. Higashi s cultural propensity towards respect
for his employer and expectation of his subordinates means that he believes the ALT s should utilise
their paid leave entitlements first.
It is initially hard to distinguish which of these tangible or intangible factors are more important.
Based on the cultural dimensions and values identified further in the report, it is clear that each has its
own importance and merit. Understanding the cultural norms and expectations at play in the case
study are critical to resolving the conflict at hand. Whilst Kelly believed she had adequate prior
knowledge of the Japanese culture, it is clear that she is not as well versed as she thinks.
Mr. Higashi has a responsibility to his employees (which include the Japanese workers) to ensure that
equality prevails in the workplace and the hierarchical, masculine structure is preserved. As detailed in
section 3, Japanese culture is about hard work, loyalty, and honour. If Kelly were to take her concerns
directly to CLAIR without first attempting to resolve them with Mr. Higashi, she may inadvertently
bring shame to Mr. Higashi and cause him to lose face (Lewicki, 2011).
Although Kelly has tangible considerations at play, the intangible factors associated with Mr.

Mining Hazards Are Caused By Mining Activities That Impact...
Mining hazards are caused by mining activities that impact the nearby environment. Irreversible
damages were caused around the globe since the beginning of mining.
On January 22, 1959, an underground coal mine located in Pennsylvania, U.S.A., suffered one of the
major disasters in the American coal mining industry. The River Slope Mine, an underground coal
mine under the Knox Coal Company administration, was flooded by the Susquehanna River after their
experienced personnel followed orders and continued mining the Pittston vein area. Catastrophic
consequences followed after reaching the safety stop line beneath the Susquehanna River. From a total
of 82 men that were present at the time of the occurrence only 38 men evacuated successfully and
were able to find their way out with no other assistance than the desperation to live. After enormous
effort 32 men were rescued later that same day. The subsequent mine damage was extensive and sadly
12 men were trap, despite the relentless effort to rescue them the task was impossible to complete,
their bodies were never recovered.
The purpose of this study is based on engineering geology, assuring that the geological factor
regarding the location, design, development, operation and maintenance of the River Slope Mine
(Knox Mine) were recognised and accounted for.
The monitoring of active mining operations are performed by the owners and by the mining
authorities, but depending on the knowledge and standards at the time, hidden

American Diplomacy That Kissinger Notes And What Makes...

U.S. History Since 1877
U.S. History Introductory Paper
August 31, 2015
In this paper I will be answering the following questions. What are the inherent tensions in American
Diplomacy that Kissinger notes and what makes American diplomatic history unique? To what extent
would you define yourself as a realist or an idealist in regards to American foreign policy? What
unique factors contribute to American expansionism and isolationism? The inherent tensions in
American diplomacy, in the twentieth century, that Kissinger notes, are foreign policy, the balance of
power system, and the conflicts and ideas of Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt. Foreign
policy was a tension in American diplomacy because America had two conflicting stances towards
foreign policy. The first stance was the fact that they thought it was best to perfect democracy in
America, and then just act as an example to the rest of the world. The second stance as Kissinger
states is that America s values impose on it an obligation to crusade for them around the world. In
short America wavered between a tough decision of isolationism and commitment. Also the balance of
power system was a tension in American Diplomacy because it was a big issue in foreign policy. The
balance of power system s goal was not peace, but to maintain stability and moderation. This meant
that the system would not satisfy everybody involved, it worked because dissatisfaction wasn t so high
that somebody would

The Impact Of Ansel Adams On The Conservation Movement
Assess the impact of Ansel Adams as an influential figure in the conservation movement Intro
America s National Parks are deeply indebted to the American photographer Ansel Adams. Through
his masterful photography, he turned Yosemite National Park into an American icon. Ansel spent the
majority of his life fighting for the National Parks through intense political activism. He was a key
figure in conservation in the United States, beginning in a time when environmental conservation was
a rare concept.
From a young age he showed uncommon interest in wilderness and the outdoors and grew into one of
the personalities most responsible for defining what American wilderness means. In his twenties,
Ansel demonstrated incredible mastery of the young art form of photography. Through his friendships
and collaboration with other artists and environmentalists and through his many prestigious art shows
and published collections he gained fame. He used his fame, strong personal voice and persuasive
activism for environmental conservation causes such as ... and for environmental organizations such as
the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Society. In particular, Ansel Adams was inspired and captivated by
Yosemite at a young age and found the mountains to be his calling. His passion to preserve the park he
experienced as a young boy fueled his efforts.

Hospice Nurse Role
Hospice is a concept of care that is based on the belief that meaningful living is achievable during a
terminal illness that is free of interventions that prolong physiologic dying. The role of a hospice nurse
is to take on a holistic approach to patient care that involves a careful evaluation of not only physical
problems but also the psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of the patient and the patient s family
(Hinkle Cheever, 2014). The hospice nurse is culturally aware and sensitive in their approach to
communication that respects beliefs, attitudes, and values of the patient and family about end of life
care. The hospice nurse also provides support to families even after the death of the patient (Nies
McEwen, 2015).
The hospice nurse also educates family members about the physical symptoms of terminal illness such
as dyspnea, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mrs. Keith practiced hospice nursing for over 10 years. Mrs. Keith became a hospice nurse because
her mother was dying and choosing to put her on hospice was the best decision she has ever made.
Although retired, Mrs. Keith still volunteers time to time to sit with patients. Mrs. Keith stated,
You walk with families, with all the issues families may have; you walk with them, through their fears
and anger, through love, laughter, and tears. You see great healing and forgiveness at times. A healing
that traditional medicine may not understand. But it is the healing a medicine cannot touch. It is the
healing of love and compassion and presence. It is our presence, love, and compassion, as patients and
families journey, step by step, closer and closer to saying goodbye to each other. (personal
communication, April 26, 2018)
I was blown away by her compassion for hospice nursing. I believe it takes a special person to be a
hospice nurse. Although nurses outside of hospice deal with patients dying or having a life limiting
illness; it is not every encounter with a

Nationalism And Its Impact On National Identity
Nationalism can be defined in two dimensions. First, the feeling of having a sense of national identity.
This national identity is often confronted with a dilemma as to how to draw the boundaries of what
creates a nation. This pre requisite often comes in the form of either similarities in origin, ethnicity,
culture and willingness to partake in the membership of a nation . This is contrasted with the concept
of states as states such as the Native American Iroqouis, whom although are a nation have no
presiding political autonomy over themselves.
Second, nationalism is defined as active conscious decisions made by members of a nation when
aiming to maintain their national sovereignty and independence. The key focus in this definition is
sovereignty, and its prerequisites (needing absolute control over internal and external decisions,
otherwise known as full statehood or quasi statehood) is sufficient. Hence, geographic dominance over
a nation s territorial parameters has been seen as a necessary feature to achieving full statehood ,
which inevitably results in nationalistic prerequisites being fulfilled for sovereignty nationalism. This
is contrasted with the first definition of nationalism, based on the notion of culture and values versus
geography. History has itself shown many examples of socially cohesive nations as well as socially
conflicting nations. This leads to the formation of the debate as to whether nationalism is a source of
social cohesion or of

Scarface The Movie Psychology
In this essay I decided to watch the movie Scarface (1932). This movie is directed by Howard Hawks
and Richard Rosson. Its lead actors are Osgood Perkins, Paul Muni, Ann Dvorak, and Karen Morley.
Scarface is a film about guns, gangsters, and pretty woman, it follows a story of a fast rising gangster
who lives by the moto the world is yours, but once he finds himself at the top he is quick to find his
world is tumbling down around him.
Looking at scenes of sexual innuendo the film handled it with showing minor skin or even kissing.
One scene of a sexual innuendo is the dialogue with Tony (Paul Muni) and Poppy (Karen Morley). In
this scene you hear Tony say I m not hungry. Except for you. You got something I like hinting to
Poppy that he is interested in her more than he is food. Even with the films restrictions on not showing
a lot of skin or even a sex scene the directors were able to still put their points across to what the
characters implied, and that there was a sense of romance between the two without having to show
any explicated scenes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You have an anonymous shadow who is Antonio Tony Camonte walking across the wall, then shots
are fired and it pans back to the body of Big Louis Costillo (Harry J. Vejar) not showing the actual
death or blood. This would be an ongoing theme because in the entire film the only blood you really
ever see is on the sleeve of Johnny Lovo (Osgood Perkins) when he is clipped by a bullet. Even with
the restrictions the directors had for the time I found it refreshing to see that I was able to understand
the crisis that was happing but not have it required by the director to have a shock factor of blood and

Milton’s Paradise Lost Essay examples
Milton s Paradise Lost has been praised as being the greatest English epic of all time, most stunningly
in its author s depiction of the parents of humanity, Adam and Eve. How Milton chose to portray the
original mother and father has been a focus of much criticism with contemporary readers. One of the
main subjects of these comments is in reference to Eve, who, according to many, is a trivial character
that is most definitely inferior to her mate. Nonetheless, many do not recognize that, after the fateful
Fall, she becomes a much more evolved character. When Eve is introduced to the storyline of the epic,
her character is shallow and extremely undeveloped, meant simply for display. She is quite firmly set
as being inferior to her mate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He does this because the scene happens in the past and therefore he uses her to discuss it rather than
confusing the reader with a flashback type scene. He also has Eve relate what happened to prove that
Eve must indeed be beautiful if she herself was taken by her looks as she discusses how she pined
with vain desire (IV, 466) for the image of her reflection. In fact, Eve s beauty is discussed repeatedly.
For example, when Satan first sees the human couple, he is overtaken by Eve s beauty and submissive
charms (IV, 498). Milton even goes so far to stress her beauty and charms as to have her stun Satan
himself with it. Actually, as Satan is on his mission to seduce Eve into eating the apple, her beauty
overtakes him.
If chance with nymphlike step fair virgin pass, What pleasing seemed, for her now pleases more, She
most, and in her looks sums all delight; Such pleasure took the Serpent to behold This flowery plant,
the sweet recess of Eve Thus early, thus alone; her heavenly form Angelic, but more soft and feminine,
Her graceful innocence, her every air Of gesture or least action, overawed His malice, and with rapine
sweet bereaved
His fierceness of the fierce intent it brought.
That space the Evil One abstracted stood From his own evil, and for the time remained
Stupidly good, of enmity disarmed, Of guile, of hate, of envy, of revenge. (IX, 452 466)
Thus Milton creates an Eve

How Is Hagar Shipley An Unlikeable Character
Pride of Living
It is difficult for the reader to take an objective view of the characters in this novel, particularly Hagar
Shipley, because of the first person nature of the story. Furthermore, it is also impossible not to dislike
Hagar at times because of her detachment from the things that could bring her happiness. Hagar
suffers from dysthymia, she is a victim of relational and social distance. Her past was not in her favor
when contributing to her emotionally distant future.
Hagar is portrayed as an unlikeable character being blinded by pride, and just overly bitter. While she
may not be the hero or the villain (due to this type of story not having a demand of good vs evil) it
does make the story more believable. In real life, there is no black and white when I come to
personalities. Her personality may well be reflected as unpleasant at times but it does not necessarily
make her a bad person. She cannot be described as the antagonist nor protagonist. In many instances,
she displays actions of disapproval towards almost everyone in her life this is frustrating to readers at
times because what is leading her to her unhappiness can easily be solved by a slight change in
character. Hagar is in constant denial of her actions and the consequences that come with it.
Hagar is blind to her own faults. Stubborn and resentful of everyone around her and won t let herself
be happy and yet Hagar is the kind of character you root for, she strives for independence which no

Abrahamic Religion Essay
There are two broad categories of religions that people believe on and they include the Abrahamic
religion and Eastern religion. The two largest religious groups have some common beliefs and have
diverse different aspects of explaining life and the creator of the universe. The Abrahamic religion
includes Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The Islamic religion is a common religion practiced by
Muslims all over the world. It subscribes to Allah teachings as professed by Prophet Muhammad (Ali,
2011). There have been times in Islamic history when men we counted as a superior creation as
compared to women. They were seen as lesser beings that have no social and human rights at all. They
were considered to serve as a means for men sexual gratification and the subservience. However,
things changed in the Arabic land in the past fourteen hundred years when Islam appeared.
Muhammad changed the position of women in the society and now it has improved tremendously
unlike in the pre Islamic period. Islam has worked on ensuring equality among the people is achieved.
This has seen the elimination of barriers that had been created by people that wanted to be seen as
superior and distinguished from others. The segregation of women in the society was synonymous
where they were seen as to be in different part of the society, without any living standards (Sharma,
2016). Good Muslim teaching has created a peaceful, coherent and balanced society that considers
women as an equal entity. It has

Importance Of Student To Student Observation
When completing the student to student observation a pre kindergarten classroom was observed. There
were fifteen students in the classroom with a teacher and an aide. The students were divided into three
groups of four and one group of three. The groups where cycling through an art center that integrated
math supervised by the aide, a literacy and history center supervised by the lead teacher and a puzzle
center. At the art center being observed, students were following picture directions to count out the
right number of materials to complete their turkey hats. Then they had to follow the directions with
the aide s help to assemble the hat. When observing the teacher student interactions, it was interesting
to see the personality of the four students come out. Student one seemed to be quiet when interacting
with the teacher. She seemed to not give more than one or two word answers, normally yes or no. She
didn t seem to want the teacher help or to interact with the aide. Student two seemed to be the opposite
of student one. While she stayed on topic, she gave elaborate and over detailed answers to the aide.
She seemed to want the aide to only pay attention to her and wanted constant positive feedback from
the aide. She seems to get upset when the aide starting helping the other children and would try to
direct the attention back to herself. It almost be a sense of learned helplessness. Student three seemed
to be a mix between student one and two. When the aide would

One was an elderly man, another was a man suffering from illness, and finally he saw a dead body
surrounded by mourners. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his charioteer
what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and unavoidable,
and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him out into the city;
this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life forever. The last sight he saw
was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was completely shaved and he was

Dbr Case
Based on the information in this case analysis, what are the types of threats DBR may be facing?
DBR is facing various kinds of threats like one from its competitors who could try to steal the
intellectual property of DBR and other from the advanced hackers who may be against the offshore oil
drilling projects and could target DBR for their role in those projects.
Corporate Theft Sabotage
Recently DBR released their advanced robotic prototype at an international tradeshow. Industry
experts have termed this prototype as the most advanced robotic system and also suggest that this
prototype is at least 5 years ahead of what DBR s competition has to offer. Because of this reason,
DBR fear that their competitors could try and steal their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Espionage through advanced persistent threat (APT)
Advanced persistent threat (APT) is most critical information security threat. Competitor companies
could try such attacks with intent of having ongoing access to DBR s research data. In these attacks,
the data is not damaged or deleted, but is stolen without raising any alarms. This is the most advanced
and critical threat because with APT attacks, competitors can have unrestricted access to DBR s
network and data for as long as they desire.
Corporate Theft Sabotage
The threat which DBR is facing from its competitors is another significant threat. Before the launch of
the new prototype robot, DBR s competitors had an upper hand in the market which they lost once the
DBR announced their new prototype. Network attacks from the DBR s competitors could be aimed at
either at stealing the intellectual property so that they can again get in front in the robotics market or
those attacks could be for damaging or corrupting the research data so that DBR is not able to function
as efficiently. Such network attacks are also capable of damaging the company s infrastructure.
Competitor s intent behind these threats is straightforward, they want to get ahead in the market either
by stealing the information from DBR or by hampering DBR s functioning through data and
infrastructure damage.

A Critical Analysis of Liguistic Imperialism Essay
Introduction English has become one of the major languages of the world, and it can be an agent of
linguistic imperialism (Phillipson, 1992). This review will offer a critique of the of the 1992 book,
Linguistic Imperialism, published by New York: Oxford University Press. The author, Robert
Phillipson, is a research professor at Copenhagen Business School s Department of English. Through
the examination of this article, it can be confirmed that Phillipson has accurately described the
existing problems of the dying minority languages and the untenable idea of the combination of
globalization and English. However, I contest that English can promote social mobility in low income
countries in Africa and other countries. The questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is strongly suggested that with this global diffusion of English, the equality for speakers of all
languages is flawed.
However, in contrast to this, the article The Triumph of English, published in The Economist argues
that the language of globalization and of economics and politics is necessary for international
communications and further education on large variety of subjects. English will be spoken by over a
billion people within a decade, and that the English language has diffused everywhere and globally.
The English language is a vital skill to operate on the world stage, because many of the fruitful
sources needed for education are published in the global language of English, and people can
understand the economics and politics of the world. The ability to understand and communicate in
English is mandatory in various fields and professions, and is therefore possibly the lingua franca of
the modern day society.
Discussion
English is essential to the globalization processes for economic and political restructuring. There are
opposition of this idea that English can be equally diffused on a global scale. This spread of the
language is the imperialism of culture, where Americanization takes place, and American culture is
forced into various cultures through the power of the dominance of English as the lingua franca.

Twelve Habits Of Christian Thought
The Apostle Paul says that we should rejoice always (Phil. 4:4). The basis of our attitude is not on our
circumstances but on the character of God. Philippians 4: 8 9, tells us what we should have our minds
set on. It will take verbal and mental discipline as Christians to develop the characteristics of a healing
church.
Six Habits of Christian Thought
The author lists the six commandments Paul states that form the habit of Christian thought. (1) Think
about those things. Let go of the negatives and have Christ like thoughts. (2) Think with discernment.
Think on Jesus the Truth not on facts alone. Not all facts are true. (3) Think honorable thoughts. These
thoughts dwell on praise, worship, and thanksgiving. We are God s workmanship to which we owe
only praise and thanksgiving. (4) Think just thoughts. All our thoughts should be without prejudice
and bigotry. We are to think rightly and justly about all situations, giving everyone the same chance in
our consideration of them. (p. 165) (5) Think untainted thoughts. Think thoughts from the Spirit, not
mindless, vain meditation. (6) Have an eye for the beauty around you. Life is more than facts and
statistics. There is beauty and artistic value in creation. We are to marvel at God s handiwork. We are
to think like Jesus thought, which is different from the world. It takes discipline to become a healing
church.

Hardy was also very interested in writing about fate and coincidence in his work for his readers. As
this shows in the The Withered Arm . Rhoda feels such a strong dislike for Gertrude, her ex husbands
new wife, that she subconsciously grasps her by the arm in a dream. Also, another strong coincidence
is that Gertrude is told to receive her cure for the arm by pressing it against the neck of a hanged
person. The coincidence is that the hanged person turns out to be Rhoda s own son, who had be
hanged for stealing. The son of the woman who seems to have caused the illness, was the same person
that offered her the cure, although Gertrude dies very soon after.
The Son s Veto presents another moral issue. A lower class woman marries an upper class man. To
avoid judgement they move away. When this man dies, she meets a past love, but because he is now of
a lower class, her son forbids her to marry him and she dies an unhappy lady. The

Abuse Of Power Throughout History
Throughout history, people have gone crazy over power, making them do things that they would have
never done. Stories have been written, wars have been fought, and even families destroyed over the
struggle for power. Desiring power is part of our human nature, everyone wants it, and what one does
while in power, is often attempts to gain more. Even the most paramount leaders can become corrupt,
leaving their legacy resonating through history. A common theme throughout our history is the abuse
of power. It is often that societies find that their highly elected officials have broken laws to a large
degree. With superfluous power, there is an abuse of power. Human nature is to covet power, and
when someone feels power, it makes them go ballistic over it, eventually, leading to that power
becoming corrupt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Commander hands Offred a magazine, which in Gilead is criminal for a woman to possess

something I shouldn t have been doing, and that he found pleasure in seeing me do it (pg. 157). The
pleasure he found in watching an illegal activity performed in front of him is an abuse of his power.
The Commander is using his power to benefit himself and is attempting to arouse Offred by what he
can offer her. Any attempt to try and attract a female other than for reproduction, is off limits.
Therefore, the use of the magazine to try and attract Offred is a double abuse of power, and the abuse

Ruhl Pride And Prejudice
Sarah Ruhl s Eurydice presents a modern interpretation and extension of the classic Greek myth of
Orpheus and Eurydice while employing an untraditional and unique structure. There are in turn
several interconnected structural choices that are purposely done and have significant implications on
the play s meaning. For instance, Ruhl meticulously and shrewdly contrasts significant climactic
moments with trivial arguments and discussions. This is done in order to enhance the contrast between
the mythic and mundane elements of the play, allow the characters to avoid emotion, and establish an
untraditional structure that fails to move towards a climactic event. Yet the very fact that Ruhl makes a
conscious decision to avoid a clear climactic scene ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The central question in the play seems to be whether Eurydice will achieve love by overcoming her
differences with Orpheus and abandoning her father. While Ruhl s downplay of climactic moments
using mundane conversation renders it difficult to determine a single climactic moment, the scene that
answers this significant question is when Orpheus turns around and looks at Eurydice. Thus, this is the
central climactic

Mayor Of Boston Campaign Speech Examples
Campaign Speech
In the concord of this ministry I suppose you all know me as a well known author but I am rather an
ordinary man with equally ordinary problems. Today we have come to a predilection that I will win
the election and become your new Mayor of Boston. However, even with my immaculate allegiance to
the Puritanic society, I have come to the conclusion that as mayor my views are for the people, rather
than myself. Consequently, I am inert in my intimation that all laws and past punishments should be
absolved and the condemned shall no longer live in the shadows. As a believer and worshipper of
God, our belief in predestination means that no matter your good will or passion in the sacraments of
the Church your destiny is already written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the contrary, in society you have law, order, control, and the inability to control your views on
others as there are already a view or set way in observing another being. For example, if someone was
to steal an item from a home and then upon confronting the thief he admits that he has stole it, you
would most likely react with a sense of sympathy but if you were to live under society s blanket you
would have to condemn the thief no matter the situation. This is a small example but the point is that
society will no matter what, control in some way, shape, or form, how you think, act, speak, and also
how you feel, why you feel that way or even why you don t feel a certain way. How? With order
comes disorder and humans are laden with this disorderly thought process because we are only
animals and because of this I believe that everyone should be able to have their own views on society
and nature. In conclusion, if you believe in freedom of choice, freedom of speech, or are against the
current Bostonian leadership for their harsh punishments or irrelevant tyrannical laws please come
forth and vote for me. I stand by you in this race to justice for the Bostonian people, and against those
who don t, I am Josias

Improvisation Theatre History
Improvisational theatre, often called improv or impro, is the form of theatre, often comedy, in which
most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted: created spontaneously by the performers.
In its purest form, the dialogue, action, story, and characters are created collaboratively by the players
as the improvisation unfolds in present time, without use of an already prepared, written script.
Improvisational theatre exists in performance as a range of styles of improvisational comedy as well
as some non comedic theatrical performances. It is sometimes used in film and television, both to
develop characters and scripts and occasionally as part of the final product. Improvisational
techniques are often used extensively in drama programs to train ... Show more content on

History The earliest well documented use of improvisational theatre in Western history is found in the
Atellan Farce of 391 BC. From the 16th to the 18th centuries, commedia dell arte performers
improvised based on a broad outline in the streets of Italy. In the 1890s, theatrical theorists and
directors such as the Russian Konstantin Stanislavski and the French Jacques Copeau, founders of two
major streams of acting theory, both heavily utilized improvisation in acting training and rehearsal.
Modern Modern theatrical improvisation games began as drama exercises for children, which were a
staple of drama education in the early 20th century thanks in part to the progressive education
movement initiated by John Dewey in 1916. Some people credit American Dudley Riggs as the first
vaudevillian to use audience suggestions to create improvised sketches on stage. Improvisation
exercises were developed further by Viola Spolin in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, and codified in her book
Improvisation For The Theater, the first book that gave specific techniques for learning to do and

Ethanol s Environmental, Economic, And Social Impacts
In a time of energy crisis and a subsequent search for a renewable replacement for crude oil, biofuels
have arisen as a source of hope. Currently, the largest source of biofuels in the United States is corn
based ethanol. The large scale of corn ethanol production and the potential promise of finding a
domestic, reliable source of energy, requires the fuel s viability as a replacement for crude oil to be
evaluated. However, there is debate surrounding corn based ethanol s environmental, economic, and
social impacts. The scientists and governments who support the development of biofuels claim that it
will not only provide a new and sustainable source of energy but also that it will reduce greenhouse
gas emissions and is therefore better for the environment. However, although corn based ethanol
continues to harbor support from the United States government, environmentalists argue that ethanol
is not substantially better for the environment, especially when the effects of its production are taken
into account. Also, while some larger farms profit from ethanol production, it places economic stress
upon smaller farms and the agricultural industry and leads to higher food prices that are a great
detriment to those living at the level of subsistence. Therefore, in order to produce energy efficient,
environmentally friendly fuel, the United States must work towards developing cellulosic biofuels and
those produced by microbes as they have fewer consequences than corn based

The Discovery Of A Fossil Specimen
After so many years of searching and excavating, my partners and I have discovered our first hominin
fossil. After all the digging, cleaning, and cataloging of hominin discoveries is complete, we begin to
start analyzing mysterious specimen #6. It looked a lot like a modern human but the skull features is
slightly different and the molars is quite large. From what we have noticed at first sight, the incisors,
canines and the premolars of the specimen are missing. Without analyzing and measuring the teeth s,
it would make our job a bit difficult, but there is always alternative route to analyze this mysterious
specimen.
My partners and I shared each other hypotheses about mysterious specimen #6 that were trying to
figure it out. We observed every little feature that the specimen have and we re not were not sure what
hominin it is, we first guessed that this specimen is just another known fossil species in the human
lineage or it could be a new fossil species in the human lineage. Our main hypothesis that were trying
to find the answer is mysterious specimen #6 is a previous human species before modern humans
today, and How long does mysterious specimen #6 live? There are so many questions about
mysterious specimen #6 and were we going to get to the bottom of this by analyzing the skull features,
measuring the specimen with special tools and compare and contrast to all hominin from the past to
see anything similar and related to mysterious specimen #6.

Volunteer Spirit Research Paper
The volunteer spirit, in essence, is a feeling of pride that I have for having the opportunity to attend
the University of Tennessee. It means embracing the traditions, the history, and especially the color
orange. The volunteer spirit is the pride that you see at every football game in all the students, alumni,
and other fans that are yelling Rocky Top as loud as they can. It is the sense of wonder you can see in
the students expanding their horizons and working to learn so that they can make their mark on the
world and improve it. The volunteer spirit is something that is different for everyone. It is a different
experience for every student; however, it stems from one thing, a love for the University of Tennessee.

I want to take challenging courses, attend sporting events, join clubs, and just get involved in whatever
ways I can. I want to have the best experience I can in college and I can only do that through leaving
my comfort zone and trying out everything that Tennessee has to offer. I am going to stud hard so that
I can use the knowledge that I gain at Tennessee to build a life for myself and hopefully, I can impact
the world. This is not an easy task; however, I believe that the University of Tennessee has the
resources and professors that will allow me to accomplish this. I plan to completely accept the spirit of
the campus when I arrive and to branch out so that I can become a well rounded person and so that I
can expand my knowledge as much as possible. In the end, I think that the volunteer spirit boils down
to the love and pride that I, and many others, have for UT. It is this love that causes us to cheer for it
no matter what, and even to wear orange despite it not matching with anything. It is a desire to have
the full experience while attending the University and learning all you can from it. It is making the
most of your years at the University of Tennessee and asking sure that you get involved and make
strong, lasting friendships. The volunteer spirit is different for everyone, and everyone can interpret it
differently; however,

Child Support Hearing
This week I had the pleasure of sitting in on five hearings. On Monday Magistrate Akel allowed me to
observe a child support hearing where both parties were living in Iowa. The initial order was given
while the couple lived in Florida. When the father moved to Iowa he was ordered to pay $509.00
dollars a month in child support. The mother sent the child to Iowa to visit his father for a week but
the child never came back to Florida. While the child was in the father s custody he continued to pay
child support to the mother. During the hearing, the father wanted to ensure that his ex wife placed the
money that she owed him into a depository account. The attorney representing the father pointed out
that she was behind in paying him back. The attorney as well as the father believed that the she was
using the money to support her other children. The mother claimed that all of the money that she owed
her ex husband was already in the depository. Magistrate Akel made sure that the mother was aware
that if the money was not there she would be held in contempt of court.
The next hearing involved timesharing. The mother and father could not agree on a schedule that was
best for the child. The mother was concerned that the father was not bonding enough because his

Karl Marx And The History Of Marxism
Chapter 1: In this chapter I m going to explain a brief introduction to Karl Marx and the history of
Marxism. Karl Marx, who was a German philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist and
revolutionary socialist created the theory of Marxism. Marx was born in Trier, Germany in 1818 and
died in London in 1883. The social struggles in Marxs family were apparent before he was even born,
ancestrally Jewish, he came from a long line rabbis on both sides of his family. His father, who was a
lawyer converted to the Protestant denomination of Lutheranism, which was the predominant sect in
Germany and Prussia at the time, in order to escape the constraints of Pre Nazi anti Semitic
legislation. Marx started Trier High School in 1830, after having been home schooled by his father.
The headmaster Hugo Wyttenbach, who was a friend of his fathers, employed many liberal humanists
as teachers which the conservative government at the time strongly opposed leading to the police
raiding the school in 1832, discovering literature supporting political liberalism had been distributed
amongst the students. This being considered as such a heinous crime the authorities took it upon
themselves to institute reforms and replaced several members of staff during Marx s attendance at the
school. Marx attended the University of Bonn in 1835, aged 17, wanting to study philosophy; his
father disagreed with this and believed that law would be a more appropriate field of study. In his time

Descriptive Essay On A Desert At City
My eyes swung open as the car shook. I glanced out the window and noticed that we were in a desert
at night. It seemed as if our family was in the middle of nowhere. A brief moment later, I noticed a
group of lights emerge on the horizon. I waited impatiently as we approached it. My excitement rose
as it got closer and closer to us. I then saw one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. It was a
crowded area with casinos, shopping malls, and hotels everywhere. Each individual building lit up the
night sky with its vibrant colors. They each attracted the visitors with its unique architecture and
design. The sidewalks were jammed with visitors from across the nation. We were at the Las Vegas
Strip.
We circled the parking lot a few times waiting for a place to park. We found a narrow parking spot and
I got out of the car. I stretched my legs and felt my stomach growl. I did not eat for the past eight
hours and I looked forward to eating at a nice restaurant. My parents got out of the car and opened the
trunk. My mom pulled out a thick blue jacket and told me to wear it.
¨Here! Wear this jacket. It´s gonna get cold.¨
¨I ll be fine,¨ I said.
She tossed the jacket back into the trunk. We then started the three and a half mile journey across the
Las Vegas Strip. We passed numerous casinos and were overwhelmed by the crowd and smell of
cigarettes. We also walked in busy shopping malls and explored the merchandise. We saw unique
jewelry, art, and souvenirs that resembled

Anthropogenic Effects on Coral Reefs Essay
Abstract:
Humans have a very large effect on the ecosystems of coral reefs. Sensitivity of coral reefs causes
them to be more susceptible to harmful anthropogenic practices. Some of these are sedimentation,
global warming, recreational activities, poison fishing, blast fishing practices, water pollution, and
coral mining. All of these very different practices can effectively end up with the same results; the
mortality of coral reefs around the world. Coral reefs are an important ecosystem of the world, and
support many different industries and millions of people. Introduction
Coral Reefs are said to be the tropical rainforest of the sea. They are home to over 25% of all marine

As a result of this, more sediment is released into rivers that flow out into the ocean and coral reefs.
Mangrove Forests are found between 32 degrees north and 38 degrees south latitude
(www.earthisland.org ). They protect the coastlines from erosion, storm damage, and wave action.
They also serve as sediment traps from inland sources, and help protect coral reefs from over
sedimentation. As land clearing and intensive farming increase these important ecosystems become
scarce (Wolanski and Spagnol 1999). Clearing the land causes an increase in soil erosion, creating
mud that flows out to coral reefs. Nowlis et. al. (1997), found more sediment and coral damage on
reefs closest to large river mouths. Sedimentation ultimately smothers coral reefs by reducing sunlight
needed for photosynthesis (Birkeland ). Normally corals can sustain low levels of sediment supply by
using natural removal processes. Over time they are unable to remove the sediment if there is too
much sediment in the water (Grigg and Dollar 1990). In worst case scenarios sediments can bury
corals completely. This was the case about 35 years ago in Castle Harbor, Bermuda. After dredging
practices took place, corals that were found with in confined water circulation had a catastrophic
mortality rate (Brown 1997).
Water Pollution
There are two significant types of water pollution that harm coral reefs; sewage run off and oil spills.

thought of losing control is frightening and this structure gives them comfort
2. Other smaller stockholders are not be able to collectively overrule the founder on company

3. Allows strong leadership to put long term interests first while seeing beyond the near term financial
situation
4. Ownership stakes in managers hands tend to improve corporate performance
Cons:
1. Might scare off potential investors or even future hires
2. Allows a small group of privileged shareholders to maintain control while others (with less voting
power) provide the majority of the capital.
3. Heavy voting control by insiders weakens the corporate structure
4. These stocks tend to under perform
E.g.: If a founder has a 10 to 1 multiple then he or she only needs a smaller percentage to maintain
control, much smaller than 50% anyways. This is why the structure is so appealing.
Cross Ownership:

  • 2. Paragraph 1: father s struggle with morality CD1: fell back instantly and lay with blood bubbling from a hole in his head, CD2: the boy crying and looking back at the nude and slatlike creature standing there in the road and shivering and hugging himself Paragraph 2: boy s compassion CD1: carrying the fire CD2: I don t want the gun. The idea that evil may be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the man faces choosing lesser evils in order to survive, he compliments the goodness found in his son, who instead of basing his actions off his own survival, he bases them off his innocent desire to be and do good, as he asks his father on several occasions after partaking in questionable acts if they are still carrying the fire. While his father is preoccupied with survival, he is focused on helping those survivors he sees around him in a naive hope to be the good guy. At one point, his father thinks death is right around the corner and tells his son to take the gun, but his son refuses saying, I don t want the gun, (70.5 6). The boy only associates the gun with its ability to take life away, excluding the protection it gives him and his father, which in his eyes makes the gun a symbol of evil and destruction; something he wishes to be separate from. However, the boy takes the gun anyways, finally realizing that its evil is necessary in order to survive, so that he may continue to carry the fire of the good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Of Mice And Men Book Vs Movie Essay In the movie, Of Mice and Men the scene in Weed was a lot different than the one explained in the book. First the girl is actually chasing them which didn t happen in the book. They also were chasing Lennie and George, not looking for them. I think the director chose to do it this way because it adds more to the story then seen in the movie ,and makes it more interesting. It s also the beginning of the story so he probably wanted to draw you in. This changes the story. The director probably chose to start the story on a train for many reasons. First, it is pretty much a good way to start a movie. The director also might have done this because he wanted to show that they were leaving Weed. The director is telling us that George s life, has a lot of trains and transportation in it, because he moves around so much! This is also due to Lennie s behavior, getting them kicked of town, after town, after town. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He encounters Curley s wife and he is alone with her. She starts to ask him questions. Another scene that we see in the movie that is not presented through the book is when George and Lennie are working together and to load up the wagon when Curley s wife comes along. These new scenes add more of the loneliness factor that I have noticed throughout the book and the movie. I think they show the audience how desperate and lonely she is to talk to someone. I had different emotions throughout the book and movie. I One was that Lennie was useless in the beginning of the book and movie.. Another emotion that I had was towards George. I thought he was just bossing around Lennie and trying to make fun of him like when he told Lennie to jump in a river, he jumps and forgets after George saves him. But, then he I guess saw that George killed Lennie out of love so he won t suffer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this case study, the intangible factors include Kelly s cultural propensity towards emphasising her entitlement to use her accumulated sick leave while Mr. Higashi s cultural propensity towards respect for his employer and expectation of his subordinates means that he believes the ALT s should utilise their paid leave entitlements first. It is initially hard to distinguish which of these tangible or intangible factors are more important. Based on the cultural dimensions and values identified further in the report, it is clear that each has its own importance and merit. Understanding the cultural norms and expectations at play in the case study are critical to resolving the conflict at hand. Whilst Kelly believed she had adequate prior knowledge of the Japanese culture, it is clear that she is not as well versed as she thinks.
  • 5. Mr. Higashi has a responsibility to his employees (which include the Japanese workers) to ensure that equality prevails in the workplace and the hierarchical, masculine structure is preserved. As detailed in section 3, Japanese culture is about hard work, loyalty, and honour. If Kelly were to take her concerns directly to CLAIR without first attempting to resolve them with Mr. Higashi, she may inadvertently bring shame to Mr. Higashi and cause him to lose face (Lewicki, 2011). Although Kelly has tangible considerations at play, the intangible factors associated with Mr. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Mining Hazards Are Caused By Mining Activities That Impact... Mining hazards are caused by mining activities that impact the nearby environment. Irreversible damages were caused around the globe since the beginning of mining. On January 22, 1959, an underground coal mine located in Pennsylvania, U.S.A., suffered one of the major disasters in the American coal mining industry. The River Slope Mine, an underground coal mine under the Knox Coal Company administration, was flooded by the Susquehanna River after their experienced personnel followed orders and continued mining the Pittston vein area. Catastrophic consequences followed after reaching the safety stop line beneath the Susquehanna River. From a total of 82 men that were present at the time of the occurrence only 38 men evacuated successfully and were able to find their way out with no other assistance than the desperation to live. After enormous effort 32 men were rescued later that same day. The subsequent mine damage was extensive and sadly 12 men were trap, despite the relentless effort to rescue them the task was impossible to complete, their bodies were never recovered. The purpose of this study is based on engineering geology, assuring that the geological factor regarding the location, design, development, operation and maintenance of the River Slope Mine (Knox Mine) were recognised and accounted for. The monitoring of active mining operations are performed by the owners and by the mining authorities, but depending on the knowledge and standards at the time, hidden ... • 7. American Diplomacy That Kissinger Notes And What Makes... Khalil Akil U.S. History Since 1877 U.S. History Introductory Paper August 31, 2015 In this paper I will be answering the following questions. What are the inherent tensions in American Diplomacy that Kissinger notes and what makes American diplomatic history unique? To what extent would you define yourself as a realist or an idealist in regards to American foreign policy? What unique factors contribute to American expansionism and isolationism? The inherent tensions in American diplomacy, in the twentieth century, that Kissinger notes, are foreign policy, the balance of power system, and the conflicts and ideas of Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt. Foreign policy was a tension in American diplomacy because America had two conflicting stances towards foreign policy. The first stance was the fact that they thought it was best to perfect democracy in America, and then just act as an example to the rest of the world. The second stance as Kissinger states is that America s values impose on it an obligation to crusade for them around the world. In short America wavered between a tough decision of isolationism and commitment. Also the balance of power system was a tension in American Diplomacy because it was a big issue in foreign policy. The balance of power system s goal was not peace, but to maintain stability and moderation. This meant that the system would not satisfy everybody involved, it worked because dissatisfaction wasn t so high that somebody would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Impact Of Ansel Adams On The Conservation Movement Assess the impact of Ansel Adams as an influential figure in the conservation movement Intro America s National Parks are deeply indebted to the American photographer Ansel Adams. Through his masterful photography, he turned Yosemite National Park into an American icon. Ansel spent the majority of his life fighting for the National Parks through intense political activism. He was a key figure in conservation in the United States, beginning in a time when environmental conservation was a rare concept. From a young age he showed uncommon interest in wilderness and the outdoors and grew into one of the personalities most responsible for defining what American wilderness means. In his twenties, Ansel demonstrated incredible mastery of the young art form of photography. Through his friendships and collaboration with other artists and environmentalists and through his many prestigious art shows and published collections he gained fame. He used his fame, strong personal voice and persuasive activism for environmental conservation causes such as ... and for environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Society. In particular, Ansel Adams was inspired and captivated by Yosemite at a young age and found the mountains to be his calling. His passion to preserve the park he experienced as a young boy fueled his efforts. Hospice Nurse Role Hospice is a concept of care that is based on the belief that meaningful living is achievable during a terminal illness that is free of interventions that prolong physiologic dying. The role of a hospice nurse is to take on a holistic approach to patient care that involves a careful evaluation of not only physical problems but also the psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of the patient and the patient s family (Hinkle Cheever, 2014). The hospice nurse is culturally aware and sensitive in their approach to communication that respects beliefs, attitudes, and values of the patient and family about end of life care. The hospice nurse also provides support to families even after the death of the patient (Nies McEwen, 2015). The hospice nurse also educates family members about the physical symptoms of terminal illness such as dyspnea, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mrs. Keith stated, You walk with families, with all the issues families may have; you walk with them, through their fears and anger, through love, laughter, and tears. You see great healing and forgiveness at times. A healing that traditional medicine may not understand. But it is the healing a medicine cannot touch. It is the healing of love and compassion and presence. It is our presence, love, and compassion, as patients and families journey, step by step, closer and closer to saying goodbye to each other. • 10. Nationalism And Its Impact On National Identity Nationalism can be defined in two dimensions. First, the feeling of having a sense of national identity. This national identity is often confronted with a dilemma as to how to draw the boundaries of what creates a nation. This pre requisite often comes in the form of either similarities in origin, ethnicity, culture and willingness to partake in the membership of a nation . This is contrasted with the concept of states as states such as the Native American Iroqouis, whom although are a nation have no presiding political autonomy over themselves. Second, nationalism is defined as active conscious decisions made by members of a nation when aiming to maintain their national sovereignty and independence. The key focus in this definition is sovereignty, and its prerequisites (needing absolute control over internal and external decisions, otherwise known as full statehood or quasi statehood) is sufficient. Hence, geographic dominance over a nation s territorial parameters has been seen as a necessary feature to achieving full statehood , which inevitably results in nationalistic prerequisites being fulfilled for sovereignty nationalism. This is contrasted with the first definition of nationalism, based on the notion of culture and values versus geography. History has itself shown many examples of socially cohesive nations as well as socially conflicting nations. This leads to the formation of the debate as to whether nationalism is a source of social cohesion or of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Scarface The Movie Psychology In this essay I decided to watch the movie Scarface (1932). This movie is directed by Howard Hawks and Richard Rosson. Its lead actors are Osgood Perkins, Paul Muni, Ann Dvorak, and Karen Morley. Scarface is a film about guns, gangsters, and pretty woman, it follows a story of a fast rising gangster who lives by the moto the world is yours, but once he finds himself at the top he is quick to find his world is tumbling down around him. Looking at scenes of sexual innuendo the film handled it with showing minor skin or even kissing. One scene of a sexual innuendo is the dialogue with Tony (Paul Muni) and Poppy (Karen Morley). In this scene you hear Tony say I m not hungry. Except for you. You got something I like hinting to Poppy that he is interested in her more than he is food. Even with the films restrictions on not showing a lot of skin or even a sex scene the directors were able to still put their points across to what the characters implied, and that there was a sense of romance between the two without having to show any explicated scenes. ... • 12. Milton’s Paradise Lost Essay examples Milton s Paradise Lost has been praised as being the greatest English epic of all time, most stunningly in its author s depiction of the parents of humanity, Adam and Eve. How Milton chose to portray the original mother and father has been a focus of much criticism with contemporary readers. One of the main subjects of these comments is in reference to Eve, who, according to many, is a trivial character that is most definitely inferior to her mate. Nonetheless, many do not recognize that, after the fateful Fall, she becomes a much more evolved character. When Eve is introduced to the storyline of the epic, her character is shallow and extremely undeveloped, meant simply for display. She is quite firmly set as being inferior to her mate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He does this because the scene happens in the past and therefore he uses her to discuss it rather than confusing the reader with a flashback type scene. He also has Eve relate what happened to prove that Eve must indeed be beautiful if she herself was taken by her looks as she discusses how she pined with vain desire (IV, 466) for the image of her reflection. In fact, Eve s beauty is discussed repeatedly. For example, when Satan first sees the human couple, he is overtaken by Eve s beauty and submissive charms (IV, 498). Milton even goes so far to stress her beauty and charms as to have her stun Satan himself with it. Actually, as Satan is on his mission to seduce Eve into eating the apple, her beauty overtakes him. If chance with nymphlike step fair virgin pass, What pleasing seemed, for her now pleases more, She most, and in her looks sums all delight; Such pleasure took the Serpent to behold This flowery plant, the sweet recess of Eve Thus early, thus alone; her heavenly form Angelic, but more soft and feminine, Her graceful innocence, her every air Of gesture or least action, overawed His malice, and with rapine sweet bereaved His fierceness of the fierce intent it brought. That space the Evil One abstracted stood From his own evil, and for the time remained Stupidly good, of enmity disarmed, Of guile, of hate, of envy, of revenge. • 13. How Is Hagar Shipley An Unlikeable Character Pride of Living It is difficult for the reader to take an objective view of the characters in this novel, particularly Hagar Shipley, because of the first person nature of the story. Furthermore, it is also impossible not to dislike Hagar at times because of her detachment from the things that could bring her happiness. Hagar suffers from dysthymia, she is a victim of relational and social distance. Her past was not in her favor when contributing to her emotionally distant future. Hagar is portrayed as an unlikeable character being blinded by pride, and just overly bitter. While she may not be the hero or the villain (due to this type of story not having a demand of good vs evil) it does make the story more believable. In real life, there is no black and white when I come to personalities. Her personality may well be reflected as unpleasant at times but it does not necessarily make her a bad person. She cannot be described as the antagonist nor protagonist. In many instances, she displays actions of disapproval towards almost everyone in her life this is frustrating to readers at times because what is leading her to her unhappiness can easily be solved by a slight change in character. Hagar is in constant denial of her actions and the consequences that come with it. Hagar is blind to her own faults. Stubborn and resentful of everyone around her and won t let herself be happy and yet Hagar is the kind of character you root for, she strives for independence which no ... The Abrahamic religion includes Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The Islamic religion is a common religion practiced by Muslims all over the world. It subscribes to Allah teachings as professed by Prophet Muhammad (Ali, 2011). There have been times in Islamic history when men we counted as a superior creation as compared to women. They were seen as lesser beings that have no social and human rights at all. They were considered to serve as a means for men sexual gratification and the subservience. However, things changed in the Arabic land in the past fourteen hundred years when Islam appeared. Muhammad changed the position of women in the society and now it has improved tremendously unlike in the pre Islamic period. Islam has worked on ensuring equality among the people is achieved. This has seen the elimination of barriers that had been created by people that wanted to be seen as superior and distinguished from others. The segregation of women in the society was synonymous where they were seen as to be in different part of the society, without any living standards (Sharma, 2016). Philippians 4: 8 9, tells us what we should have our minds set on. It will take verbal and mental discipline as Christians to develop the characteristics of a healing church. Six Habits of Christian Thought The author lists the six commandments Paul states that form the habit of Christian thought. (1) Think about those things. Let go of the negatives and have Christ like thoughts. (2) Think with discernment. Think on Jesus the Truth not on facts alone. Not all facts are true. (3) Think honorable thoughts. These thoughts dwell on praise, worship, and thanksgiving. We are God s workmanship to which we owe only praise and thanksgiving. (4) Think just thoughts. All our thoughts should be without prejudice and bigotry. We are to think rightly and justly about all situations, giving everyone the same chance in our consideration of them. (p. 165) (5) Think untainted thoughts. Think thoughts from the Spirit, not mindless, vain meditation. (6) Have an eye for the beauty around you. Life is more than facts and statistics. There is beauty and artistic value in creation. We are to marvel at God s handiwork. We are to think like Jesus thought, which is different from the world. For instance, Ruhl meticulously and shrewdly contrasts significant climactic moments with trivial arguments and discussions. The large scale of corn ethanol production and the potential promise of finding a domestic, reliable source of energy, requires the fuel s viability as a replacement for crude oil to be evaluated. However, there is debate surrounding corn based ethanol s environmental, economic, and social impacts. The scientists and governments who support the development of biofuels claim that it will not only provide a new and sustainable source of energy but also that it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is therefore better for the environment. However, although corn based ethanol continues to harbor support from the United States government, environmentalists argue that ethanol is not substantially better for the environment, especially when the effects of its production are taken into account. Also, while some larger farms profit from ethanol production, it places economic stress upon smaller farms and the agricultural industry and leads to higher food prices that are a great detriment to those living at the level of subsistence. Karl Marx, who was a German philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist and revolutionary socialist created the theory of Marxism. Marx was born in Trier, Germany in 1818 and died in London in 1883. The social struggles in Marxs family were apparent before he was even born, ancestrally Jewish, he came from a long line rabbis on both sides of his family. His father, who was a lawyer converted to the Protestant denomination of Lutheranism, which was the predominant sect in Germany and Prussia at the time, in order to escape the constraints of Pre Nazi anti Semitic legislation. Marx started Trier High School in 1830, after having been home schooled by his father. The headmaster Hugo Wyttenbach, who was a friend of his fathers, employed many liberal humanists as teachers which the conservative government at the time strongly opposed leading to the police raiding the school in 1832, discovering literature supporting political liberalism had been distributed amongst the students. This being considered as such a heinous crime the authorities took it upon themselves to institute reforms and replaced several members of staff during Marx s attendance at the school. Mangrove Forests are found between 32 degrees north and 38 degrees south latitude (www.earthisland.org ). They protect the coastlines from erosion, storm damage, and wave action. They also serve as sediment traps from inland sources, and help protect coral reefs from over sedimentation. As land clearing and intensive farming increase these important ecosystems become scarce (Wolanski and Spagnol 1999). Clearing the land causes an increase in soil erosion, creating mud that flows out to coral reefs. Nowlis et. al. (1997), found more sediment and coral damage on reefs closest to large river mouths. Sedimentation ultimately smothers coral reefs by reducing sunlight needed for photosynthesis (Birkeland ). Normally corals can sustain low levels of sediment supply by using natural removal processes. Over time they are unable to remove the sediment if there is too much sediment in the water (Grigg and Dollar 1990). In worst case scenarios sediments can bury corals completely. This was the case about 35 years ago in Castle Harbor, Bermuda. • 36. Neural Stack Essay Neural stack is a type of data structure. Neural network helps in learning push and pull the neural network by using the back propagation. There are some of the pre requisite of this understanding of neural network in general. It is better if we understand how neural networks will help to push the stack on sequences and pull off it in a reverse order. It is better to have a sequence to be pushed over 6 numbers by popping 6 times and pushing it over 6 times and reverse the list in correct sequence. Here, neural stack comes into existence by accepting the clear inputs and transforming it to the pattern over the learned data. Neural stacks help in inputting and accepting the data as well popping and pushing it accordingly so that it will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
