My family and I commonly go to Curtis Hixon Park and Kiley Gardens, they are extremely
family friendly and very welcoming. The specific day I went to observe the parks was on
Tuesday, July 25th around 4 pm. I sat in the parks for an hour, analyzing the architecture and
people who walked by. From the time i sat on a bench observing I noticed many people walked by,
all whom were from different demographics. Curtis Hixon is a great family park, it has an open field
and a playground, which is equipped with modern toys that aren t typically seen in regular
playgrounds. If you walk just a step away from the playground there will be misty fountains, and at

personal feelings and experiences through the use of story telling. One of the most popular genres
of music is rap or also known as hip hop. Hip hop music has a profound effect, both positive and
negative on many of today s youth which transforms and evolves American culture and society.
What started it all was the origin of gangsta rap , which was popularized by gangster rappers such
as Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Ma$e, Snoop Dogg, and Scarface. These were all rappers who
influenced American culture and made the genre of rap and hip hop more mainstream which
captivated many listeners not only on a local level, but on an international level. However, some
of the lyrics that were stated were not only meaningful, but sometimes controversial in the eye of
the general public. Nonetheless, hip hop music has always had an influence on many
generations and their shaping of what we know today of the modern American society and

Aristotle s Views On Human Happiness
2 PURPOSE OF HAPPINESS
For Aristotle, happiness was related to a natural function. He argued that if we as human fulfilled
our natural function/purpose then we will be able to be happy and want for nothing at all (page
91). Aristotle believed that human happiness refers to the function most proper to the human
should and essentially the function must be exclusive to human. He argues that this supposed
function is a practical aspect of life that comes from the rational part within humans. The use of the
term practical suggests that there is a predetermined conduct which comes as a result of having
rational capabilities. This ultimate good of an individual should stem from this and therefore
naturally flow from performing your function to a high standard. In order to attain true happiness,
this must be repeated throughout one s life. Aristotle s view can be considered to be flawed as he
says that only human beings can fully use reason or be described truly happy as happiness derives
from reasoning. He argues that the distinction between human beings and animals is due to human
capability to perform certain actions that only human beings can perform due to having reason.
However, in the instance of a young child who is not yet able to reason, Aristotle s statements are
highly problematic. Can we really say that it is incapable for a child to experience true happiness?

The contact between languages is one of the various fields investigated by socio linguistics.
Commonly it is thought that monolingualism is the most usual linguistic behaviour but language

In the novel Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, an unnamed narrator finds a mentor named Ishmael. Ishmael
is a gorilla that teaches through telepathy, how human civilization has developed to its current state.
He explains that human culture can be split into two groups: Takers and Leavers. Takers are the
most dominant culture; they seek to control the world through aggressive agricultural production
and development of new technology. The leavers on the other hand, are people who live in tribal

Cultural context and social setting of The King s Speech and The Great Gatsby. I have had the
privilege to study two compelling masterpieces this year. The enthralling novel The Great
Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald and the exceptional visual sensation that is The King s Speech .
The cultural context alludes what aspects are relevant to the society of that world and their daily
lives. I was very intrigued when comparing both of these texts While the texts presents very
different worlds there are some striking similarities. Ultimately each text creates its own unique

England during the time period of 1925 1939. This was a very tense period since England was
