Nutrition Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of nutrition poses its own set of challenges, making the writing
process both intricate and demanding. The complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of
nutrition itself – a field encompassing biology, chemistry, health sciences, and even social
aspects. Juggling these diverse elements requires a comprehensive understanding of not just the
physiological aspects of food but also the broader context in which nutrition operates.
The challenge further intensifies as one navigates through the vast sea of research and
information available on nutrition. Staying current with the latest scientific findings, dietary
guidelines, and nutritional trends demands meticulous research skills and the ability to sift
through an abundance of data. Selecting credible sources and discerning between conflicting
studies become crucial tasks in constructing a well-informed and evidence-based essay.
Additionally, the task involves effective communication to convey complex nutritional concepts
in a manner accessible to a diverse audience. Striking a balance between scientific accuracy and
readability is an art that demands careful consideration of language, tone, and structure.
Furthermore, the ever-evolving nature of nutritional science adds a layer of dynamism to the
writing process. New research findings and paradigm shifts can reshape the landscape of
nutritional knowledge, requiring constant updates and revisions to maintain the essay's relevance
and accuracy.
In summary, composing an essay on nutrition necessitates a blend of scientific acumen, research
proficiency, and communication skills. It is a task that extends beyond the mere arrangement of
words; it involves synthesizing information from various disciplines, staying abreast of the latest
developments, and presenting the findings in a way that captivates and educates the reader.
For those finding themselves overwhelmed by the intricacies of such an undertaking, it's worth
noting that assistance is available. Similar essays and a myriad of other academic compositions
can be ordered through services like HelpWriting.net, providing a helping hand to navigate the
challenging terrain of nutrition essays.

As a continuing response to treating aggression in adolescents, counselors added a
strengths based element to the requirements for a successful treatment. Strengths
based approaches highlighted and developed Antoni s strengths and competencies
to reduce anger (Paylo, 2005). As part of the treatment, a focus on strengths
attempted to awaken talents, knowledge, and resources in the service of achieving
the client s goals and vision. Strengths based approaches are grounded in helping
people achieve a health and well being lifestyle. A greater emphasis is placed on
finding what is right, effective, and strong within individuals as opposed to focusing
on identifying the problems. Solution Focused Brief Therapy was developed by

Raising Bilingual Children Research Paper
Parenting Tips and Advice for Raising Bilingual Children
By Rashel Dan
Apr 19, 2008
The world is becoming smaller and cultures are almost merging. Before, transport and
communication made it difficult for people to connect. Today, it is a common
occurrence to come across people of different races. Because of these cross cultural
encounters, many individuals find spouses of different racial heritages.
Some families are also relocating to other countries. In such cases, these parents are
more than ever in need of a good parenting tip. This is because these parents need to
contemplate the need to raise their children in a bilingual environment. Why is
bilingualism necessary in some families and what parenting tip do bilingual parents
need?
Raising kids in bilingual environment has more advantages than disadvantages. This
parenting tip is highly recommended by some bilingual parents ... Show more content

It is a highly recommended parenting tip that both parents feel comfortable about the
arrangement. Otherwise one parent may not be supportive at all. Neglecting this
parenting tip may make matters unpleasant for one parent and for the children.
Start Early and Be Consistent
Begin early and start while your kid is still young. Some parents may recommend
that bilingualism should be introduced as early as infancy. They also offer the
additional parenting tip of consistency. Do not stray from your resolve and your
methods for bilingual training. At the same time, avoid fierce criticism. This may
only push your children into dismissing the minor language.
Use Techniques
Used tried and tested techniques. Some parents both insist on speaking the minority
language while at home and allow their children to speak the majority language while
outside. In some families, one parent speaks the minority language while the other
speaks the majority language when speaking to their children.

Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory Of Identity
According to Freud the id is unconscious by definition:
It is the dark, inaccessible part of our personality, what little we know of it we have
learned from our study of the dream and of course the construction of neurotic
symptoms, and most of that is of a negative character and can be described only as a
contrast to the ego. We approach the id with analogies: we call it a chaos, a cauldron
full of seething excitations. ...It is filled with energy reaching it from the instincts,
but it has no organization, produces no collective will, but only a striving to bring
about the satisfaction of the instinctual needs subject to the observance of the
pleasure principle.(1) In Psychoanalytic theory, Freud divides the personality into

Roman Boys Research Paper
The lives of Roman boys were indubitably intriguing, but they unquestionably
contrasted with the lives of boys today. To begin, Roman boys wore different types of
clothing, depending on their social status and money.Boys living in the lower class
wore only a tunic (tunica) and undergarments (subligaculum), while the higher classes
wore a tunic, undergarments, and togapraetexta. This was, at least, until they reached
manhood and switched out the toga praetexta, which was usually bordered with
garnet, for a plain white tunic. Wealthier boys actually had the color purple featured
somewhere on their togas, corresponding to the characters in our Ecce Romani
book. This was a symbol of economic superiority, since purple was a particularly rare

Colour coding is a common practice in the fish industry and provides a method of
standardization for something as subjective as colour. Both in production and sales,
colour is the most important quality parameter for salmon.
Salmon buyers can request information on the colour of a delivered lot in the form
of a number corresponding to a colour number on the Roche scale. Another salmon
colour reference is the colour number on the Salmofan scale. Kalastaa s bank, acting

12 Bar Blues Progression Essay
12 bar Blues progression is 12 measures long (I, IV, and V chords of a key). A bar
is measuring the music against its rhythm. A bar is a vertical line that is drawn
through a musical staff. The rhythm is usually one two three four. When you put
stress on the two and four you get your blues progression basic beat. Speeding up or
slowing down this beat will set the tempo of the song. The theme is in the first four
line and then repeated in the fifth through eight lines. Then the closing four bars have
the original theme, but with improvisational endings adding up to twelve lines. This
gives you the 12 bar Blues progression.
In the introduction Armstrong starts with an improvise cornet solo over harmonium.
On 0 14 the first chorus starts with When I was Young... which is Bessie singing.
When the final two measures of the first chorus comes on 0 51 Armstrong does an
improvisation with his cornet as a fill that indicates the chord progression. Then the
second chorus kicks in with then I am growing old which is Bessie singing on 0 57.
In the final two measures of the second chorus 1 31 Armstrong improvised a fill with
his cornet. One the first chorus Bessie repeats some of the vowels to give a more

Pros And Cons Of Cross Trainer
Fitness Bootcamp Cross Trainers Are A Good Investment
Fitness BootcampWhen you are involved in a fitness bootcamp workout not only is
it important to wear the right kind of sports bra and clothing, but also the right kind
of footwear. Most people will just pull on any kind of trainers without thinking about
what effect wearing them could have on their feet. In fact the best type of footwear
you can wear when taking part in a fitness bootcamp workout are those known as
cross trainers.

variety of different activities. So of course they are capable of being able to cross
from one activity to another without the need for you having to take them off and
put another pair of trainers on. However these aren t the kind of trainers you should
be wearing when you are doing a lot of running.
So what are the pros and cons to be gained from investing in a pair of these types of

These types of trainers tend not to have so much cushioning, as you would find in a
pair of running ones. However they still provide enough cushioning and support to
ensure that no serious damage is caused to your feet and legs as you exercise. When it
comes to purchasing cross trainers you have a choice of material from which the
cushioning inside them is made. The first type is EVA, which is very lightweight but
won t offer you much stability. Whilst the other material used is PU (Polyurethane)
this is much denser and so is much more stable and much more durable, but does

Tuskegee Air Field History
The U.S. Army Air Corps entered World War II as an all white fighting force.
There was never a thought of integrating any black men into its ranks. The common
knowledge at the time was that the black man was inferior to the white man in
every way, and could not possibly perform the complex tasks of operating an
airplane, either in the relatively safe traffic pattern around an Army Air Field, or
in the chaos of air to air battle in a war zone. Segregation of the black man in the
army has remained unchanged since the civil war. The pre Word War II Army had
separate living quarters, mess halls, and bathrooms for the colored soldiers. The
black man was considered to be suited for jobs in the Army that were simple in
nature, such as cooking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The P 47 was the first airplane the Tuskegee Airmen painted the tail red. The P 47
had a relatively short life with the 332nd, as the P 51 was much better suited to
escorting bombers over long distances. The 332nd also painted the tails of their P
51s red, and got the nickname Red Tail Angels from the bomber crews they
protected. It is rumored the Red Tails never lost a bomber they were protecting.
The Tuskegee Airmen were the first black aviators in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
They were the first to shoot down a German ME 262 (the first jet fighter plane).
They earned three Distinguished Unit Citations, 96 Distinguished Flying Crosses,
14 Bronze Stars, 744 Air Medals, 8 Purple Hearts, and at least one Silver Star. They
flew over 1500 combat missions and destroyed over 100 enemy aircraft in the air,
and 150 enemy aircraft on the ground. They also destroyed 40 barges and boats,
and incapacitated a German destroyer. The Tuskegee Airmen also paid a price for
their country. Of the 355 Tuskegee Airmen deployed, 84 lost their lives, and 32 were

Male Toucan Vs Northern Harriers
There are two different types of survival needs in organisms for example, why can
t toucan lives in arctic while hawk can live almost everywhere?Generalist are most
often found in a place where temperature is moving from hot to cold, and variety of
food sources are available for organisms living there. Animals found in these place
are called broad niches, which are able to adapt to almost any environment. Opposite
of generalist would be specialist, which means temperature stays the same and same
kind of food sources available, this kind of environment are more suitable for narrow
niches.
For instance Toucans are considered as specialists, their surrounding habitat is made

Male toucan will stay away from the nest and makes sure no predators come near
the nest, if nest is being threatened there is going to be violence between two birds.
However Northern harriers can relate to male Toucan after their mating period as
well, Northern harriers must bring food for the family and need to be prepared to
take in extra effort for the family. Both birds don t let the newborns isolate from the
parent and be very careful around them, they have to be aware of their life as a
parents. Since newborn had come to life, there is no way that the offspring can
adapt to different niche which parents are unable to. Both birds sexual reproduces,
sexual reproduction requires both parent and combine two different genes to create
a offspring. If both parent are specialists there is no chances that the offspring can
be generalist. The females birds deliver about 3 5 eggs each year after mating with
the male bird. There is least difference in food of these two examples, both of them
eats almost same thing such as small mammals and lizards except for fruits. Northern
harriers are not able to locate fruits in grassland
In summary Northern harrier versus the Toucans are not a huge difference because
they are both the birds but they are different kinds, the only one difference that
matter between these two common birds are generalist versus and other are
specialist. However they both can relate by same reproductive system and same
responsibilities of male s concerns about the family. Toucans are specialist while
Northern harriers are generalist, each of these birds have somehow difference in diet
and mainly different habitats,

The Museum in Washington, D.C. is home to the Journalists Memorial, which lists
the names of over 2,100 journalists from around the world who were killed in the line
of duty. The relationship between a professional journalist and a source can be rather
complex, a source can actually impact the direction of the article written by the
journalist. The article A Compromised Fourth Estate uses Herbert Ganz metaphor to
capture their relationship. He uses a dance metaphor The Tango to illustrate the co
operative nature of their interactions It takes two to tango . Herbert suggests that the
source often leads but journalists commonly object to this notion for 2 reasons: o It
signals source supremacy in news making. o It offends journalists professional
culture, which emphasizes independence and editorial
Wilma Rudolph Accomplishments
Wilma Rudolph Wilma Rudolph became the first American woman runner to win
three gold medals in the Olympic games (Rudolph). Wilma Glodean Rudolph was
born on June 23rd, 1940, in Bethlehem, tennessee. Rudolph had trouble at birth
doctors thought she would not live but she did. At as young as four years old she
dealt with double pneumonia and scarlet fever left her with no use of her left leg.
Despite an illness that might have prevented her from even walking, Wilma
Rudolph became an amazing athlete whose story continues to inspire. Her
amazing accomplishments have inspired many athletes around the world. Rudolph
s mother took her weekly days off work to drive forty five miles into Nashville for
heat and water treatments on her leg ( Rudolph, Wilma. ). Rudolph s mother and
some of her older brothers and sisters learned how to rub Rudolph s legs with
treatment four times a day between her trips to Nashville. By the age of eight, she
could walk with the aid of a leg brace and then a specially built shoe. By age eleven,
she no longer needed the specially made shoe (Wiggins). Rudolph... Show more

Health Of Achieving Health And Wellness
Achieving health and wellness is a highly individualized, dynamic process that is
characterized by six interrelated dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, emotional,
spiritual, and environmental health. The focus of this paper is my physical health as
it relates to wellness.
Furthermore, the objective of focusing on my physical health is to identify current
health behaviors and factors that may be impacting and prohibiting me from
achieving optimal physical health. Using the Transtheoretical Model for Stages of
Change1 as a guide, I will identify a specific health behavior I am seeking to
improve, and outline an action plan to achieve and maintain good physical health.
In assessing my health behaviors, I have identified three specific behaviors that have
negatively impacted my physical health: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and
inadequate sleep. The factors that I attribute to these current heath behaviors are: a
lack of social support and guidance, the nutritional value of foods consumed (as
related to the culture in which I was raised), and time management.
I attribute my lack of physical activity to an absence of social support and guidance
in my life. For example, my mother suffers with cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet
rarely engages in physical activity. Five years ago, my mother had a heart attack, and
underwent an angioplasty2 in order to receive a stent3. In accordance with the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Benefits Of Planned Parenthood
The issue that is to be discussed is if the government should continue to fund
Planned Parenthood. This question is a sociological issue because it can affect
millions of people because in a year Planned Parenthood can help four million
people who are mainly low income, of all religions, and race (Berg). Not only that,
but is it something that is constantly being discussed in the media and on the floor,
so it is something that we should be focusing on right now. I will say that I am a
supporter of Planned Parenthood and I am open that I am also a patient there as
well because to me Planned Parenthood is more than just what the media shows, but
even so I will stay objective to be ethical in this research(Schaefer). One of the topic I
would like to search is how Planned Parenthood is funded by the government. Most
people believe that a portion of their taxes are taken out and given to these clinics
that people can just go in and receive free healthcare. Some believe that the
government writes Planned Parenthood a check and that money comes from the
people. However, these are both incorrect and that is why I believe this is one of
the main topics to search into because this is something that can affect everyone
whether or not they go to Planned Parenthood. This also goes hand in hand with
another topic I would like to search into: how does Planned Parenthood affect
people? With this, I would like to find out why people choose to go to Planned
Parenthood, why society does not

Brain Dysfunction in Criminal Behavior
After viewing the ABC video The Brain and Violence: Secrets of Your Mind I do
believe that people are predisposed to violence. I do maintain my position that even
if the same Neurological and genetic factors that lead to crime are present in a person
the lack of a healthy environment is what will cause those neurological and genetic
factors to manifest themselves into crime or violence. The video also discusses the
region of the human brain that can be linked to crime/evil. I do believe now that
people can be born with genetic factors that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As mentioned earlier, self regulation is so intimately related to crime that it could be
said that antisocial behavior begins where self regulation ends (Delisi, 2013).
Another fact to consider is the fact that most behavior is learned and/or imitated to
include criminal behavior and thought processes behind criminality are also a learned
process. I think that the link is how that biological factor has been addressed and
treated before that person commits crime, in other words besides the biological issue
one has to take into account how and what has happened in that persons past along
with taking into account that persons environment in which he/she was raised in
which may or may not have failed to influenced him/her positively.
Finally, the impairments in personality functioning must be relatively stable across
time and situations, cannot be better understood as developmentally or culturally
normative, and cannot be solely due to the direct physiological effects of a substance
or medical condition (Lynam, amp; Vachon, 2012). Again biological factors alone
cannot be the sole reason crime exists or the cause of crime within a human.
In the ABC video The Brain and Violence: Secrets of Your Mind they highlighted

commonly found in serial killers and
Reasons Why Kids join Neo-Nazi Gangs Essay

Theory Of Evaluator s Practice
Theory in Evaluator s Practice
Evaluation theory is a broad term, there are many different theories and models to
follow in an evaluation. An evaluator can pick any when doing an evaluation,
however each as a ground framework they start with. That starting theory can show
up when they first begin an evaluation. However the evaluation determines the theory
used to best address the problem or program being evaluated. I interviewed an
evaluator, Person A, who explained that every evaluation and assessment is unique,
so her approach was holistic to try to see every necessary variable and she used mix
and match theories she knew to best address the current issues, sometimes changing
models when necessary. For the start of planning an ... Show more content on

One example of a process evaluation she does is to find out student satisfaction of

higher response rate than using paper surveys. However the response rate was still
low since the survey was sent out once at the end of the year. Person A wanted a

Analysis Of Slumdog Millionaire
Rising from the slums to become a millionaire is one in a million chance. Yet,
Jamal, the main character of Slumdog Millionaire, has raised his life from living in
the slums to living the life a millionaire. With their mother dying, Jamal and his
brother started off in the slums living off trash and garbage. From experience,
Jamal was able to recall certain events and situations to help him answer certain
question on the Who wants to be a millionaire show. For example, Jamal was able to
answer the question, What does God Rama hold in his right hand? , by simply
remembering the time after his mother was killed and him and his brother, Salim,
were being chased. (Thesis) Not only did the plot of the movie made the movie
interesting and amazing to watch, but the acting, aging through camera transitions,
and overall goal of Jamal to find Latika throughout conflicts made Slumdog
Millionaire a amazing movie.
The acting of Slumdog Millionaire seemed to be integrated into the environment
and the setting of the slums. With the use of real children from the slums, the
movie seems to be very real as the children seem to already fit the descriptions of
being part of the slums. Living in India, I was able to understand the conditions and
lives of the people that lived around the slums. These people are recognized by the
majority of the public as being savages and uncivilized. The child actors that played
Jamal and Salim in the movie fit the description of being savages and uncivilized. For
example, Jamal jumped into the pile of poop from the outdoor bathroom to get to
Amitabh Bachchan to get his autograph. And as for Salim, Salim fit the description
of being uncivilized due to the fact he had no regards for other people s lives. A
perfect example is when Salim was in charge of all the other children in the child
slave ring, Salim at one point took away a baby from another girl to give it to
Latika. In this scene, Latika didn t want to hold the baby but had to hold the baby
because Salim threaten to drop it. Overall, the acting of Slumdog Millionaire was
amazing because of many reasons. Reasons including the fact that the actors that
played Jamal, Salim, and Latika were real children from the slums of India which

Wandering Jew Chapter Summaries
The tale of the Wandering Jew is an interesting myth that originates during the 13th
century. On a surface level, it is an entertaining myth with roots back to early
Christianity. However neat the story is; there are illogical inconsistencies within the
myth, and the Wandering Jew falls victim to the one of us/ one of them fallacy and
the fallacy of Division, leaving us with a depiction of the views 13th century
Christians held, and how they portrayed them.
The myth begins as Jesus Christ is carrying the cross he is to be crucified upon,
Jesus stumbles under the weight of the cross in front of a Jewish shoemaker, the
shoemaker harasses Jesus, telling him to hurry up and get on with it; it is here when
the Jew is cursed to wander the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The myth falls to the One of us/one of them fallacy because the myth divides people
into two parts, the ones who stood by Jesus s side, and the Jews who betrayed him.
The Wandering Jew depicts a Jewish man harassing the son of God, an analogy for
the blame the Jews received for the death of Jesus by medieval Christians. the
Jewish people have a long history of persecution by other religions, in the 11th
century, social and political standings all depended on your religious standing, as
such Jews were seen as lower class and forbidden from holding office in any
government. Jews often were forced to live in ghettos. Jewish people were blamed
for Jesus s crucifixion, as well as blamed for ritualistically killing Christian children
this goes to show how Christianity in the middle ages tended to view the Jewish
people (Michael Berenbaum, Anti Semitism ). This relates directly to the Wandering
Jew because of how Joseph is purposely made the antagonist of the story, and is
punished by God by being cursed, because of this it s clear how the one of us/one of
them fallacy ran rampant during this time period, including in the Wandering
Detection Capabilities Of Endpoint Antivirus Solutions
Many enterprises have trouble discovering advanced threats because they exclusively
rely on the limited detection capabilities of endpoint antivirus solutions. The figure
below demonstrates how signatures are significantly better at discovering
opportunistic attackers. This is because opportunistic attackers find value in scale.
Their objective is to compromise as many endpoints as possible and as a result are
likely to have a signature developed shortly thereafter. The advanced attacker who
only targets a finite number of assets needed to accomplish a specific mission can
remain below the detection threshold and go significant amounts of time without
registering a signature, if they register one at all. Additionally, an advanced attacker
can move laterally to more critical systems in an attempt to escalate their privileges
within an environment. If the attacker succeeds, they can come and go as they please
within a given enterprise living off the land by leveraging built in tools to reduce the
number of new executables reducing the amount of change they introduce into the
environment. As a result, the attacker can persist for long periods of time by adding
more user and system accounts. By proactively deploying continuous data collection
to track an attacker s every move, and classifying threats by leveraging robust threat
intelligence, enterprises can hunt across the attacker s entire kill chain. The example
below also illustrates the shortcomings of endpoint
Examples Of Greed In John Steinbeck
The works of John Steinbeck have been used universally on scholarly account
because of his ability to establish themes in his writing that are relevant to life. The
Pearl, is one work that contains issues as ideas that are still significant to this day.
One theme, such as greed, is displayed throughout the course of the novel. As each
character develops, their intentions with the pearlbecome evident to the reader. This
theme is seen through many of the characters who are eager to obtain the pearl. In
The Pearl, the theme of greed is shown through the doctor s intentions, Kino s
attitude, and Juana s discontent of the pearl. The doctor, along with common
people in the town, is very judgemental and only cares about what he will benefit

wishes for with what they desire. The doctor looked past his aged patient and saw
himself sitting in a restaurant in Paris and a waiter was just opening a bottle of

The Canadian Court System Sentencing Procedure
We believe that our judicial system does not support the rights guaranteed in
Canadian charter rights and freedom and focus on legal guilt over factual guilt.
The Canadian court system sentencing procedure see over both sides of the story
carefully but court focus on proving suspect guilt rather then innocence. Our
judicial systems currently have many flaws and it s clearly noticeable in some
situations. There have been a lot of cases where our judicial system failed to
provide justice to the victim or guaranteed rights to society. Our main law that has
been compromised in years is the privacy law. Fifteen years ago privacy was not as
important as it today, the main reason for that is technology. As science advance it
came up with all these new gadgets such as cell, computer and tables and with all
technology came the rise social media. We now have Facebook, Twitter, Istagram,
and many more online social media sites that people uses. Our law says that all of
our private information cannot be disclosed to government unless someone is a
threat but these rights have been violated multiple times. The first time it was an
issue was in G20 summit, June 2010. Lately is have also been an issue in Canadian
spy companies. Also government recently passed the bill c 150, which clearly
violates our charter rights.
To begin with, G20 summit took place in Downtown Toronto in June 2010. Police
started to violate charter rights by taking peoples private information and

Should Prisoners Be Given The Right To Vote Essay example
Should prisoners be given the right to vote?
The UK has been accused of breaching the European Convention of Human Rights
Article 3 of protocol 1 by having a blanket ban on prisoners voting. The European
Court of Human Rights (ECHR) promotes the idea that convicted prisoners should
be allowed to vote and have a right to vote, despite the Conservative party being
opposed to this view. As a result the ECHR have being pressuring the Tory s to bow
to their rules for many years. This essay will examine the history behind the debate
of prisoners voting and, give reasons in favour of the ban and opposing to the ban,
whilst strongly promoting the view that prisoners should not have the right to vote.

This shows that there is little argument against the disenfranchisement of prisoners as
they are prepared and encouraged to be a part of society.
People are incarcerated for different crimes some a lot more severe than others. For
example, a single parent was sentenced to 3 months for the theft of a pair of jeans
worth ВЈ10 (BBC News, 2011). However, while these are viable points and
questions, the government allowing certain individuals in prisons to vote could
be a complicated decision. Felons circumstances are not simply black and white;
there can be a grey area with individual cases. Appropriate retribution is said to only
occur when an appropriate punishment is given for the crime (Hegel, 1965). This
makes it difficult to judge who has committed a serious enough offence to enable
them to be stripped of their right to vote. Streeter said, the UK decided hundreds of
years ago that prisoners should not have the right to vote (Streeter, 2011). This is a
settled view in this country which has been accepted since 1870 (Hollobone, 2011).
Do we want convicted murderers, rapists and paedophiles to be given the vote?
(BBC News, 2010). In terms of making the right decision and having it morally and
politically justifiable, felons should not be allowed to vote and it is nonsensical to
think they should.
This essay has given a brief history behind the debate of prisoners voting. It has
examined and shown both sides of the debate and
Smoking Habits Of The Ohio State University Students
Essay
Introduction: According to the Center of Disease Control national survey, smoking
habits have significantly decreased in the United States (CDC). With medical
evidence and stricter regulations, smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes are
perceived as a concerning habit. As traditional cigarette usage declines, the use of
electronic cigarettes (e cigarettes) have been a popular alternative, especially
prominent among young adults ages 18 24 years old (CDC). E cigarettes are inhaled

Media Influences Children s Behavior
Media can be described as the social and mass media that children are exposed to in
their daily lives. Examples of the media platforms and materials include radios and
television broadcasts, movies and music, newspapers and magazines, social media
platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google Talk, Skype, among others
(Samantha 2013). Media plays a critical role in the lives of the children. It provides a
socializing tool, educative and informative resources, entertainment, marketing and
advertising. Although the contents` and accessing of the media contents by children
are regulated, some of the contents of the media accessed by children indicate
violenceincidences (Samantha 2013, p. 6). Exposing children to Violence contained
in the contents of these platforms may or may not influence the behavior of the
children. The writer postulates that exposing children to media violence has a
negative influence to their behavior that develops a hostile and violent behavior in
the children.
Media violence Influences Children`s Behavior

adulthood: A cultural approach, she explores the social cultural factors that

identified that the leading behavior influencers were community structure and
relations, family structure and functions, school life, and the religious beliefs and
practices. At the centre of these was
North Pacific Gyre Research Paper
The North Pacific Gyre is one of the five major ocean gyres and one of the most
biggest too. It is roughly the size of Texas. This gyre is obviously located in the
northern Pacific Ocean. This gyre is often called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
An oceanic gyre is like a giant mass of water that is moved by the currents,
sometimes people compare them to vortexes. The North Pacific Gyre is created by
the currents of California, North Equatorial, Kuroshiro, and North Pacific Ocean.
These four currents move in a somewhat clockwise direction around an area of
about 7.7 million square miles. The area in the center of the gyre is the calmest and
this is where the debris collects and then it becomes trapped here and is often not
cleaned up. Most of the trash and things that are collected in the garbage patch can
not be broken down.
The actual garbage patch was predicted in a 1988 paper that was published by the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States. This
prediction was based off of results from several alaskan based researchers between
1985 and 1988. Charles J. Moore, returning home through the North Pacific Gyre

Osteoporosis And Treatment Of Osteoporosis Essay
Osteoporosis is one of the most prevalent bone diseases worldwide (Mulcahy, et
al.). It is characterised as a disease which leads to the loss of bone mass due to bone
deterioration, therefore leading to bones becoming more brittle and fragile (U.S.
Department of Health and Human services, 2004). Physiologically, boneis constantly
re modelled by concerted and coordinated interactions between osteoclasts, type of
cells that are involved in resorption of the bones, and osteoblasts, which ensure bone
formation and mineralization. Osteoporosisresults from an imbalance between bone
deposition and resorption (Castiglioni, et al., 2013)
Osteoporosis affects millions of people worldwide, but the groups that are at highest
risks include elderly and post menopausal women (International Osteoporosis
Foundation, 2015). As osteoporosis is associated with aging, it becomes a major
health concern as the aging population will double over the next decade (Age UK,
2016). Due to that fact, there has been an increase in an interest in development of the
preventive strategies for decreasing the incidence of osteoporosis. One of most
important strategies is dietary intervention, as there are nutritious factors that play a
key role in formation and development of the bones. Majority of the previous studies
were concentrated on relationship between calcium, vitamin D and density of the
bones. But recent studies have mentioned the importance of Magnesium, chemical
element which plays a key role in

Observation Paper On Religion
When I was deciding which worship service to encounter for this assignment, many
religious sects came to mind, as there are many religions to explorer and
understand. For me the religion that has always peaked my curiosity was Judaism,
and as such, I chose this particular religion as the basis of my paper. Once I had
chosen a specific religion, I then had to decide which denomination of JudaismI
would observe, reform or conservative. In the end, I chose conservative because I
felt the religion rituals and service would be most similar to the Roman Catholic

For this comparison of building, I will focus on my church after I moved to New
Jersey, as there are many similarities between both the religious buildings. What
was most interesting to me was the temple had an industrial feel to it, and if it
were not for the sign out front, I would have mistaken Temple Israel as a
commercial building. When I entered the sanctuary, where the main religious
ceremony takes place, the first thing I did was put on a yarmulke, small Jewish hat
worn mostly by men but I looked women could wear them if that already are not
wearing a hat of some kind. As the religious ritual began, the Rabbi walked up the
alter steps, approached the podium, and began the Morning Prayer. This is very
different from the Roman Catholic Church where the approach to the alter is more
ceremonial, with a hymn being sung while the presit carries the Bible down the aisle,
usually accompanied by an altar boy carrying a cross. The readings continue with a
practitioner standing behind a large podium, where the Torahwould eventually be
placed, reading various Psalms from various passages referred to as the Mishna,
Minyan, Yarsit Kotage, and Posit Mar. The first reading of the psalms ended with
the Prayer for Peace, which asks God for world peace. This is similar to what I was
used to attending Church; however, the ritual was far shorter, with the Priest
reading from two sections of the Bible, as opposed to multiple passages. Another
person walks up to the podium of the Torah, which I learned is also known as the
bimah, and precedes to read additional readings, did not hear them being referred to
as psalms. This process goes on for approximately twenty minutes, with various

Cult Of Gods Research Paper
As hinted above, devotion, iconoclasm, and preservation efforts are intricately
entwined with processes that happen before, during, and after the performances that
the perspective party participates in. In each environment, the object takes on new
meanings and significances due to the discourses surrounding it and the
subjectivities of the people who possess it. Moreover, preservation often engages in
the same processes that religious iconoclasts did and do by creating new narratives
of the objects and relegating necessary performances with the object. Apart from just
merely the smashing of objects or gods, by removing these objects out of their
original socio historical contexts, the objects are destroyed, literally and/or
figuratively,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, instead of religious narratives, moderns have modern narratives based on
specific conceptualizations of history, humanism, and secularism. No longer about a
history of a particular group of people as with the Jewish or Islamic narratives,
modern discourse is often developed in terms of human history, human civilization,
and human progress. In A Secular Age, Charles Taylor argues that modern secularity
was a parallel development of a purely self sufficient humanism for the first time in
history, clarifying I mean by this a humanism accepting no final goals beyond human
flourishing, nor any allegiance to anything else beyond this flourishing. Of no
previous society was this true (18). Before the modern era, Taylor argues, human
beings were never on top; gods were the ones who were dominant and worthy of
devotion, for only with their benefice would humans be able to flourish (Taylor 18).
However, secularity now places humans on the pedestal, further intensifying the
disenchantment of the secular age by displacing
Narcissism In Social Work
Published
There are many business issues we all face in the work place today. One of those
that I can personally relate to my professional work life is narcissism. Stephen
Robbins defines narcissism as being the tendency to be arrogant, have a grandiose
sense of self importance, require excessive admiration, and have a sense of
entitlement. (Robbins, 2009, p. 113) We have one employee who has the attitude of
narcissism. He is very arrogant and thinks that he knows everything about anything.
This would be fine if he actually did. However, we are an electrical company.
Meaning we work very closely with electricity, which is highly dangerous if you
do not know 100% what you are doing. It makes it very difficult to work with
someone like this. They make their co workers feel belittled and they are less
effective at the job. Narcissisms are very arrogant in the fact that they do not care
about their co workers feelings. In the article Narcissism and Emotional Contagion ,
Writer Anna Czarna states that after much research, narcissists are less likely to catch

Habakkuk 2:4 states
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by
his faith.. (Holy Bible, KJV) When it mentions lifted up and is referring to being
boast or proud. This can easily be related to someone who is narcissistic. We as
Christians should put off this narcissism attitude and portray more like Christ.
Narcissism is easy to see in someone through their personality traits. In Bob Stretch
s presentation, he suggest that the best way to access someone s personality is
through measuring using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five Model
(Stretch,2009, Slide 4) Completing this is most helpful in the hiring process. I
believe that if my boss would do this we could seek out potential employees who
would help the business succeed instead of damaging it by being narcissism or
The American President -a movie review Essay example
The American President a movie review The American President is a romantic
comedy that takes place in the White House during primary season. The president is
hoping to be reelected and to pass two bills, one on gun control and one on fuel
restrictions. During this movie, the president meets Sydney, a lobbyist, and goes out
with her, and because of this he takes a hit on his ratings. The American President
shows many different themes covered in politics and government 101, these themes
are the rolls of the media, polls, primaries and elections, and the process of
introducing a bill to congress. This movie also shows the relationship between the
executive branch and the legislative branch while detailing the relationship the...

The president then took a major hit in the polls. The president s staff relied on
public opinion polls a lot throughout the quot;Sydney conflict. quot; A fair amount
of the criticism of Sydney came from the fact that she is a lobbyist for a special
interest group, the GDC (or Global Defense Committee). A good depiction of the
interaction between the president and interest groups was seen in The American
President. In this movie a special interest group, the GDC, sent a lobbyist, Sydney, to
get a bill introduced into the senate. The process they went through, convincing the
president to introduce the bill if they got enough support from congressmen and then
seeing them gain support from the congressmen, was very informative. This movie
also helped set a complete picture of the way the president works in the political
system. Two relationships were alluded to in The American President but not
directly confronted, one was between the president and congress, and the other was
between the president and his staff. In this movie the president was shown making
deals with senators and fighting for their approval on certain subjects. He was also
seen seeking help from his advisors, not listening to advice from his advisors, and
this movie showed how much the President depended on his staff. The way that the
President lent on his staff was quite humanizing. This in turn opened the door for a

knowledge, I became motivated to assist people in navigating through this cycle.
Although our country has problems it also awards people (me), the means to effect
change through direct action and knowledge. As a result, I am driven to create

Inspired by my passion to create change, I volunteered as an AmeriCorps VISTA. I

public policy did not enable significant change. After a year as a VISTA, where I
saw families struggling to feed and house themselves, I also experienced this battle

Summary Of Oration On The Dignity Of Man
1a. Giovanni Pico della Mirandola says that human beings are free to become
whatever or whomever they may choose to be. In his work, Oration on the Dignity
of Man, Mirandola discusses how as a human being you have no limit or no bound
and may choose for yourself the limits and bounds of your nature He believes that
God created humans with no fixed position in life and that the choices they make
during their journey will define whether they fall into high or low positions on the
chain of life.
1b. Pico believes that human beings are free because they have the ability to choose
their own paths. In Oration on the Dignity of Man, he states that we should not
make that freedom of choice God gave us into something harmful, for it was
intended to be to our advantage. Representing that God created us as free beings in
having the freedom to choose. Later on in his work, he declares, Let a holy ambition
enter into our souls; let us not be content with mediocrity, but rather strive after the
highest and expend all our strength in achieving it. He regarded the most noble goal,
the goal to reach the highest position, in union to god. To choose to be next to God
was the greatest achievement.
1c. The ancient philosopher that was the most influential in Pico s beliefs was Plato.
His influence guided him away from the focus on civic life that had been such a
feature of earlier humanist thought and lead him to the belief than man could aspire

I live as God s walking poem, because Jesus and his glory live alive in me. I know I
am set apart in a special way, unlike a tree, the sky, or any other of God s creation,
and I let Christ pour out of me, right where I am because he has chosen me to live
within. And even as my introverted self, I force myself to embrace the truth that I
experience God through you more fully than I can without you, because he lives
within you too. I see God s glory revealed in the art of man s life and in the poetry
of man s work, no matter who I m with or what I m doing, what s gone wrong or
how little I m paid. I choose to be alive in the presence of Christ, seeking to know
people as Christ is poured out of them through their own uniqueness and
individuality. (AMLW, p 178). And this is what ultimately helps me to
continuously engage with others in my calling and my craft. There s no denying
that at the very core of my being, God has made me with a deep desire to want to
help others pull back the layers that suffocate the truth of who they really are and
to encourage and release them to live as though they believe that they indeed have
something to offer the world. (AMLW, p 17). In all that I do, I want others to

The Ideal American Family Analysis
As stated in an article by Kimi Kennedy entitled Television: The Ideal American
Family, most American families portrayed on television in the late 40s and early
50s consisted of a husband, wife and 2.5 kids (Kennedy). In Arthur Miller s Death of
a Salesman, the Loman family seems to perfectly fit the mold of a familyliving the
American dream; however, the actions of the family show that everything is not what
it seems. Although the Lomans appear to be the ideal family of the time, the way in
which the family treats each other directly contrast with other fictional families of the
time. The family s treatment of Happy exemplifies the lack of attention given to
some children within American families. Throughout the play, Happy often takes a
back seat to Biff when it comes to getting his parents attention. In Act I on pages

conflicted about his father. Biff cannot seem to decide if he really loves his father or
not. On page 1864, Biff is confident in his love toward his mother yet, the love he
feels for his father seems to be an afterthought (Miller).
The Loman family seems like the ideal American family based on television in the
1940s and 50s. Willy, Linda, Biff, and Happy, however, do not get along very well
and most they all have secrets that they keep from each other. The Lomans first
appear to be a typical fictional family of the time consisting of a mother, father, and
two children, but soon show their flaws. Arthur Miller breaks the mold for the
fictional families of the time in his play Death of a Salesman by highlighting the
flaws and downfalls of each member of the

Arguments For And Against Euthanasia Essay
Euthanasia is the practice of ending an individual s life in order to relieve them
from an incurable disease or unbearable suffering. The term euthanasia is derived
from the Greek word for good death and originally referred to as intentional killing
( Patelarou, Vardavas, Fioraki, Alegakis, Dafermou, Ntzilepi, 2009). Euthanasia is a
controversial topic which has raised a great deal of debate globally. Although
euthanasia has received great exposure in the professional media, there are some

The patient voluntarily wanted to end his life because he was suffering from Lou
Gehrigs s disease (Siu, 2008). Since then, the controversy over active euthanasia
has remained an ethical dilemma for healthcare providers, patients and their family
members in America and the rest of the world. The general public s belief is that,
health care providers have professional obligations to save the lives of their
patients regardless of their health status. The majority of the public feels that,
healthcare workers involvement in the euthanasia practice is a betrayal of the do
no harm oath. When a healthcare worker is involved in either active or passive
euthanasia, it can be viewed as a disregard to this value. However, the proponents
for euthanasia claim that a physician turning down a suffering patient s request to
end their life is also a violation to the do no harm oath (Siu, 2008). The right to die
falls under patient s autonomy and the basic question is whether individuals should
be allowed to end their lives if they choose to do so (Sanders Chaloner 2007). Those
in the healthcare sector grapple with this notion on a daily bases because they have to
practice under the codes of ethics guidelines. Nurses and doctors should be cautious
in their practice as they balance the patient s autonomy and their professional ethics
and guidelines. Sanders Chaloner (2007) pointed out that nurses and doctors know
that a patient s autonomy
Use Of Cell Phones In Class
Should schools put away teenagers cellphones during class time ? Nowadays most
of students have cell phones as a way to communicate with others.but sometimes
they can get distracted by these devices in class. Schools should require cell phones

Furthermore, the objective of focusing on my physical health is to identify current health behaviors and factors that may be impacting and prohibiting me from achieving optimal physical health. Using the Transtheoretical Model for Stages of Change1 as a guide, I will identify a specific health behavior I am seeking to improve, and outline an action plan to achieve and maintain good physical health. In assessing my health behaviors, I have identified three specific behaviors that have negatively impacted my physical health: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and inadequate sleep. The factors that I attribute to these current heath behaviors are: a lack of social support and guidance, the nutritional value of foods consumed (as related to the culture in which I was raised), and time management. I attribute my lack of physical activity to an absence of social support and guidance in my life. I think that the link is how that biological factor has been addressed and treated before that person commits crime, in other words besides the biological issue one has to take into account how and what has happened in that persons past along with taking into account that persons environment in which he/she was raised in which may or may not have failed to influenced him/her positively. From experience, Jamal was able to recall certain events and situations to help him answer certain question on the Who wants to be a millionaire show. For example, Jamal was able to answer the question, What does God Rama hold in his right hand? , by simply remembering the time after his mother was killed and him and his brother, Salim, were being chased. (Thesis) Not only did the plot of the movie made the movie interesting and amazing to watch, but the acting, aging through camera transitions, and overall goal of Jamal to find Latika throughout conflicts made Slumdog Millionaire a amazing movie. The acting of Slumdog Millionaire seemed to be integrated into the environment and the setting of the slums. With the use of real children from the slums, the movie seems to be very real as the children seem to already fit the descriptions of being part of the slums. Living in India, I was able to understand the conditions and lives of the people that lived around the slums. These people are recognized by the majority of the public as being savages and uncivilized. The child actors that played Jamal and Salim in the movie fit the description of being savages and uncivilized. For example, Jamal jumped into the pile of poop from the outdoor bathroom to get to Amitabh Bachchan to get his autograph. And as for Salim, Salim fit the description of being uncivilized due to the fact he had no regards for other people s lives. A perfect example is when Salim was in charge of all the other children in the child slave ring, Salim at one point took away a baby from another girl to give it to Latika. In this scene, Latika didn t want to hold the baby but had to hold the baby because Salim threaten to drop it. Overall, the acting of Slumdog Millionaire was amazing because of many reasons. This relates directly to the Wandering Jew because of how Joseph is purposely made the antagonist of the story, and is punished by God by being cursed, because of this it s clear how the one of us/one of them fallacy ran rampant during this time period, including in the Wandering
  • 28. Detection Capabilities Of Endpoint Antivirus Solutions Many enterprises have trouble discovering advanced threats because they exclusively rely on the limited detection capabilities of endpoint antivirus solutions. The figure below demonstrates how signatures are significantly better at discovering opportunistic attackers. This is because opportunistic attackers find value in scale. Their objective is to compromise as many endpoints as possible and as a result are likely to have a signature developed shortly thereafter. The advanced attacker who only targets a finite number of assets needed to accomplish a specific mission can remain below the detection threshold and go significant amounts of time without registering a signature, if they register one at all. Additionally, an advanced attacker can move laterally to more critical systems in an attempt to escalate their privileges within an environment. If the attacker succeeds, they can come and go as they please within a given enterprise living off the land by leveraging built in tools to reduce the number of new executables reducing the amount of change they introduce into the environment. As a result, the attacker can persist for long periods of time by adding more user and system accounts. By proactively deploying continuous data collection to track an attacker s every move, and classifying threats by leveraging robust threat intelligence, enterprises can hunt across the attacker s entire kill chain. The example below also illustrates the shortcomings of endpoint

The UK has been accused of breaching the European Convention of Human Rights Article 3 of protocol 1 by having a blanket ban on prisoners voting. This shows that there is little argument against the disenfranchisement of prisoners as they are prepared and encouraged to be a part of society. People are incarcerated for different crimes some a lot more severe than others. For example, a single parent was sentenced to 3 months for the theft of a pair of jeans worth ВЈ10 (BBC News, 2011). However, while these are viable points and questions, the government allowing certain individuals in prisons to vote could be a complicated decision. Felons circumstances are not simply black and white; there can be a grey area with individual cases. Appropriate retribution is said to only occur when an appropriate punishment is given for the crime (Hegel, 1965). This makes it difficult to judge who has committed a serious enough offence to enable them to be stripped of their right to vote. Physiologically, boneis constantly re modelled by concerted and coordinated interactions between osteoclasts, type of cells that are involved in resorption of the bones, and osteoblasts, which ensure bone formation and mineralization. I live as God s walking poem, because Jesus and his glory live alive in me. I know I am set apart in a special way, unlike a tree, the sky, or any other of God s creation, and I let Christ pour out of me, right where I am because he has chosen me to live within. And even as my introverted self, I force myself to embrace the truth that I experience God through you more fully than I can without you, because he lives within you too. I see God s glory revealed in the art of man s life and in the poetry of man s work, no matter who I m with or what I m doing, what s gone wrong or how little I m paid. I choose to be alive in the presence of Christ, seeking to know people as Christ is poured out of them through their own uniqueness and individuality. (AMLW, p 178). And this is what ultimately helps me to continuously engage with others in my calling and my craft. There s no denying that at the very core of my being, God has made me with a deep desire to want to help others pull back the layers that suffocate the truth of who they really are and to encourage and release them to live as though they believe that they indeed have something to offer the world.
