Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nc
The generation of NACs started when it has become the era of BYOD. This has become the reason for
potential network security risk. Through NAC, a device is forced to properly identify itself before it is
given access to the network [2]. With the improvements and innovations with endpoint network
security, some of its current weaknesses are asset management, role based access, and the guest
network access [4]. NAC is able to integrate endpoint security, network security, and system
authentication compensating for the weaknesses given above.

FreeNAC, an OpenSource solution for LAN control and dynamic VLAN management, can be used
and is well suited for the following: research and development units, workstation LANs, meeting
rooms, rooms exposed to the public, open floor plan offices, and during re organizations to better track
and control network access. Usually, FreeNAC is used to solve LAN Access Control, ... Show more

Emotion In Holden Caulfieinger s Catcher In The Rye
The character Holden Caulfieeld in the novel Catcher in the Rye covers his true feelings by giving the
audience and the characters in the story the impression that he doesn t care when in actuality , he cares
deeply about every aspect he has been through in the chapters. He provides very nonchalant , terse ,
and swearing responses to almost every conversation he s in . For example godamm movies or very

only thing would be different would be you to prodcast the imagenery lense the character observed the

The Confessio Of St. Patrick Analysis
In The Confessio of St. Patrick, Patrick writes of his life after his conversion to Christianity and his
life leading from then to his elder years. St. Patrick most known for converting Ireland, writes of his
call to the Green country, his devotion, and his fear. In these writings, he acknowledges his failings,
and his devotion to Christ. The fifth century missionary and bishop of Ireland started out as a pagan.
His later conversion led to slip ups during his times of need where he would call upon his old Gods
and pray for their help. After his trials, he mentions again the Christian God and thanks him. In doing
so, he shows his humanity by showing his error. He writes of this fault with the quote Helias, Helias
with all my might (288,182) with his intention to acknowledge it happened. In his work, he makes a
point to not showcase his errors, but how his devotion guided and him, if not at times blindly.
Patrick wrote of his fear of God. Which could have been connected to his honest writings and his
conversion. His honest writing may have come from the belief of if it was acknowledged, he wasn t

On many occasions, he wrote how God had guided him places and spoke to him of his devotion. He
believed himself to be a significant figure in God s plan for not just himself but other people and the
spread of Christianity in Ireland. For example he writes that God told him He who touches you,
touches the apple of my eye. (289,264) He believed to repay God for his love and protection it is
necessary to spread the word of God all over the world. That it was a believers duty. He writes a quote
from God Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me (285,45 46).
These conversations he believed he had with God, is what led him to return to Ireland. Which led to
his future fame to be a decision from

Psychological Addiction Research Paper
Addiction is a disease in which the body must have medication to eschew physical and psychological
withdrawal symptoms. When utilizing this type of medication, behaviour becomes compulsive and
uncontrollable. Addiction leads to people making irrational decisions that interfere with ordinary life
responsibilities. There have been drugs that increase, the cause of addiction, such as: marijuana,
opioid, pain relievers, and cocaine. Addiction endeavored a compelling and influential impact on the
brain that is distinguished in three different categories: craving for the object of addiction, loss of
control over its use, and continuing involvement with it despite adverse consequences. (Understanding

Laramie Project Thesis
The Laramie Project Paper
The Laramie Project, written and directed by Moisés Kaufman, is a docudrama that was written and
filmed after a homosexual student was brutally beaten and killed in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998.
Although he was left in a gruesome and unimaginable state by the two boys that killed him, Matthew
Shepard did not die until five days later in a Colorado hospital. The crime brought national attention to
hate crimes and caused legislation to be passed punishing those who commit crimes for this reason.
The Tectonic Theater Project, a group based in New York City, moved into the small town of Laramie,
documenting the town s reactions to the crime and the attention that it had received. The information
gathered from these interviews ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point in the movie, the audience has not learned much of McKinney and Russell Henderson,
the other person charged of killing Shepard. Because the dialogue is in the confession setting,
McKinney keeps his answers to a minimum and only answers to what has been asked. That makes the
subtext during the scene very noticeable because the audience develops their opinion of the boys
during that instance. Through the short confession and his demeanor, the audience can conclude that
McKinney was homophobic and unwilling to grant Shepard any mercy when he beat him. The police
officer asks questions that are to the point, trying to gain as much information as possible. McKinney
answers without hesitation and tells what he claims to be the truth while revealing that he is nervous
about the outcome of his trial. This addition to the play is interesting because it has to be staged as an
actual occurrence rather than as an interview. It is similar to the speech made by Dennis Shepard
because the theater group did not specifically ask questions in search for these answers, but they use
the information because it gives the docudrama its sense of reality. This confession shapes the
murderers as characters and helps the audience answer some lingering questions. It also allows the
theater group to gather information and interviews from townspeople in response to this specific
confession and how they felt about

Nt1310 Unit 1 Elements Of Training
System nature: The system requirements and functioning can be a very simple task or a complex one.
Training level and duration can be brief with a pre defined step by step procedure to solve a limited
problem. Because in this case the most of the task is performed by the system and user has limited
thinking and evaluation requirement. On the other hand, if the user is supposed to analyze the given
task and problem, define a procedure or routine to solve it then the detail and long term training is
required. So in general, training must be as per the system complexity and the capabilities of the users.
10.4.1 Elements of User Training The planning for user training should begin long before the first

Developing Two Bioanalytical Sensing Platforms Essay
The aim of this project is to develop two bioanalytical sensing platforms as a means to study
phenomena in organized 3D cellular microenvironments that appropriately model key aspects of
biological habitats. Three important questions, listed below, will be addressed during this project,
which we discuss in detail in Sections 3.1 3.3.
(1) Can we determine concentrations of cellular biogenic species (NO, H2O2) in organized
microcommunities using T CUAs?
(2) Can we monitor proximity dependent cellular behavior in dynamic microcolonies?
(3) Can we perform real time analyses of cellular behavior in response to in vivo environments?
3.1 T CUAs for Electrochemical Detection of Cellularly Derived Biogenic Species in Organized 3D
Microenvironments.
The complex environments in which cells interact can have diverse cellular populations and be
susceptible to changes that influence cellular survival, division, differentiation, death and virulence.
Such dynamic responses are often mediated, at least in part, by changes in the concentration of
biogenic signaling molecules. Hence, detection of these chemical species is key to understanding
cellular communication. Using T CUAs as electrochemical sensors in tandem with µ3DP cell cultures,
we will electrochemically detect two signaling molecules, NO and H2O2, directly from macrophages
and S. gordonii cells, respectively.
Macrophages are immunological (eukaryotic) cells that respond to bacterial infections within in an
organism by secreting

Uncertainty Reduction Theory Report
Getting to know people can be a long and challenging process. Most of the time, we choose not to put
in the effort to get to know someone unless we need something from him or her or we put in the
minimal effort necessary to keep the conversation from getting to awkward. The book calls this the
uncertainty reduction theory. The uncertainty reduction phase has three steps to it. The entry phase,
which is the time when a relationship is just beginning. The subjects are strangers and have never met
before. The next phase is the personal phase. In this phase, the subjects of the relationship begin to
communicate in more of a personal level. They begin to open up about themselves and share more
personal details with each other. Lastly, the exit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We first met in 2007, while attending the same junior high. When we first met, she was in 8th grade
and I was in 7th. We started out in the entry phase just with the small talk and chitchat throughout the
day. The relationship developed and moved into the personal stages. We began to learn new details
about each other and communicate more frequently during and outside of school. I asked her to be my
girlfriend in 2008, when I was in 8th grade and she had moved into high school. I think we were still
in the personal stage for a while, because who knew if the relationship would last. Eventually, about a
year later, I feel we moved into the exit phase. We both decided that we wanted to continue with the
relationship and see where it went. I do no think that either of us would have though we would still be
in the same relationship over seven years later. Another example of the uncertainty reduction theory is
when I moved into the suites on campus my freshman year. I had no idea who I was moving in with. I
did not even have the opportunity to speak to them via Facebook or email, because my room was
finalized so late. The entry phase was very awkward. I had nothing in common with two of my
roommates and the other was just a little quite. I did not know where the relationship was going to

The Structure Of The Company s Expansion
6.4 Growth Planning
The company s expansion consists of platforms in two objectives: (1) provide in house services such
as publishing, manufacturing, merchandising, tour promotion and recording; and (2) sell products in
new geographical markets. Grow is based on expanding operations to territories outside the Twin
Cities area; the number of finished products is increased as we enter new areas. Determining when to
expand depends on the condition of the business and the economic conditions of the market, outlined
below. Before growth is considered, operations must function firmly, and the needs of customers and
clients must be met before, during and after transitions.
Condition of the Business Objections
When any of these factors are met, Devotion will open proposals for growth platforms.
Devotion is recognized by the community and/or a threat in the industry.
Devotion has a customer base that regularly buys our products and employs our services.
Devotions needs extra office, storage, floor, packaging and/or manufacturing space.
Devotion has sales that are rising with steady marketing campaigns.
Artist s begin to form a following in major territories.
Devotion needs to hire new employees and divide operations in management departments with
directors, managers and staff.
Devotion is netting further merchandise and/or manufacturing orders that need fulfillment.
Devotion is trafficking increasing songwriters, producers and talents alike.

To Helen And Doolittle s To Helen
In ancient times, Helen of Troy was known far and wide for her astounding beauty. She was the wife
of Menelaus, a Greek king. She abandoned her husband for a young Trojan prince named Paris.
Menelaus enraged by his wife s betrayal, began preparations for what is known as the Trojan War.
Now in modern times many writers use this legend as poetic inspiration, but certainly view Helen in
different ways. These diverse viewpoints of Helen are made known by the different tones between
Edgar Allen Poe s poem To Helen and Hilda Doolittle s poem Helen. In To Helen Poe s speaker has a
very adoring view of Helen, while in Helen Doolittle s speaker tells of the fostered hatred Greece has
for her. The difference in these views is illustrated in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In To Helen, she is portrayed as an iconic, goddess like beauty, while in Helen, she is viewed as the
bane of Greece and is described as frail and detested by others. What is noticed in the poem Helen, is
the increasing abhorrence towards her. Throughout the poem each stanza has a line added on to it,
symbolizing the increasingly negative feelings toward Helen. This change is implemented into the
poem because of how the people of Greece reminisce on past enchantments and past ills. They begin
to remember how much they praised Helen for her beauty, and then how much her act of betrayal
changed their lives for the worse. To further demonstrate her feelings of hate towards Helen she states,
[Greece] could love indeed the maid, only if she were laid, white ash amid funereal cypresses. Using
diction such as white ash and funereal cypresses which implies Helen is cremated and a funeral is
being held for her. These words signify that the Greek s hate could not be satisfied with anything other
than Helen s death. In To Helen, the speaker describes her Lo! in yon brilliant window. How statue
like I see thee stand. even idolizing her posture. Another way the speaker views her as a beautiful
goddess is his comparison between their relationship and Psyche, from the regions which are Holy
Land! The speaker is comparing his relationship to the love between the immortal Cupid and mortal

Short Story About The Haunted House
In the year of 1989, there was a street named Elm, in the state of Wyoming. Few chose to live on that
street, and they all knew about the haunted house, up on the hill, on the west side of town, coming off
of Elm. Once, I spent the week with some friends and, Halloween came upon us, while I stayed with
them. I was telling my first grade brother and his friends stories to scare them out of their wits.
Besides, no one wants little kids tagging along with you to go trick or treating, when you could go
with your friends to Haunted Houses, and not ones set up by the town hall. We were just about to pass
the house, not thinking anything of it, when we heard a moan coming from Old Man Reaper s house.

one of my brother s friends shouted. Let s finish eating, I said. Darn! all the boys said in unison. We

the living room, except me. I hung around to make sure my brother had his costume on right and it
looked scary enough. He looked amazingly creepy. I ran to my little brother and jumped onto the
couch beside him. So we all rummaged about in our bags for our flashlights, and when we turned
them on, there was a black cat staring straight at us, with red, glowing eyes. The boys all gasped. We
jumped but didn t make any noise for fear of someone hearing us. We started to go up the stairs but
decided to make sure we all stayed together in case of an emergency. We started to tiptoe through the
house and look into all of the rooms. Suddenly, a door opened behind us, and a tall, toothpick looking
man came out and had a round white face, two dots for a nose, and a thin smile, like the one you

Essay On Prostate Cancer Screening
Prostate Cancer Screening: An Analysis The paper Prostate Cancer Screening is written as an analysis
of the controversy on the use of screening for prostate cancer. The paper itself is written between
doctors Elie Mulhem, Nikolaus Fulbright, and Norah Duncan. The analysis, while likely directed to
those in the medical field, is tailored to be easily understood by laypeople. While the paper itself is a
somewhat brief, surface level analysis of the situation, it does support the notion that prostate cancer
screening through methods like prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing and digital rectal examinations
(DRE) have questionable effectiveness. The intention of the paper appears to persuade doctors and the
public to the viewpoint that prostate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first reason being the level accuracy of PSA testing is questionable. The test determines a positive
for the cancer based on the levels of prostate specific antigens in the blood of the patient, which can be
abnormally high for multiple other reasons not related to prostate cancer. The major evidence
supporting said claim is that individuals with more than 4.0 ng per mL (the threshold to test positive)
can have false positive rates of 70% (Mulhem 2). The second reason would be the implications of
testing positive for prostate cancer, including but not limited to unnecessary treatment of the disease.
While the analysis does not back up unnecessary treatment with any statistical evidence, it does go to
explain further tests and procedures to confirm and understand the nature of the patient s condition.
This bleeds over to the negative physical and psychological side effects of regular prostate cancer
screening cited by the analysis. Mulhem explains that after testing positive for prostate cancer, more
tests are performed to determine the accuracy of the screening and if so, reveal the specificities of the
cancer. The most common of these tests being the prostate biopsy, a procedure that causes a significant
portion of participants to develop moderate to severe problems requiring a follow up with their doctor

The Child s Bath, By Mary Cassatt
What is art? It is a way to express an individual s personal reflections and thoughts. It is a calming
remedy; it is a way to suppress secrets, emotions, and desires within an individual s mind. The Child s
Bath, by Mary Cassatt, is one such painting that brings you to experience the powerful emotion of a
mother s love.
Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American impressionist painter. Cassatt is most remembered for her
noteworthy paintings that portray special moments captured between a mother and her child. Cassatt
stated, I love to paint children. They are natural and truthful. This quote is ironic to me because
Cassatt was not married, nor did she have children. My notion is that Cassatt painted the important
intimate bond between mother and child in this painting because she herself was longing for that
feeling. As a result of painting this intimate bond she thought she could experience motherhood
through art. The Child s Bath is Mary Cassatt s unconventional way of showing her long for family,
independent spirit, and commitment to her craft. I feel that Cassatt was trying to show a mother the
way she feels a mother should be. In the painting The Child s Bath Cassatt paints the mother as
someone who is embracing the lifestyle of motherhood. The painting shows the love and joy a mother
has just by holding her child, and shows how a mother can have dignity in motherhood. When I first
glanced at the painting The Child s Bath, I saw simplicity in its most bare and beautiful

The Ancient Greek Chorus Influence On Modern Theatre
Referred to as the mouthpiece of society and morality , (E. Karayannakos, The Actors and The
Chorus, 2007), the Ancient Greek chorus used a range of vocal techniques and elements, which have
influenced and shaped western theatre as it is today (M. Mendenhall, Greek Theatre Influences on
Modern Theatre, 2012). From 7th Century BC to 4th Century BC, Greek choruses are particularly
renowned for their approach in engaging the audience with the context of a play. (B. Simpson,
Development of Greek Theatre, 2007), Specifically, vocal techniques played a main role in this
engagement (A. Thompson, The Ancient Greek Chorus and Elements of Choral Speaking, 2012) and

Antigone believes that humanity or natural laws have priority over Creon s laws and disobeys his

bringing further tragedy to other characters (J. Jennings, Summary of Antigone, 2011). Antigone is a
tragic play about defiance, law, death and love (B. Honig, Antigone Interrupted, 2013, pg. 6). These
elements make Antigone one of the most tragic plays in Ancient Greek Theatre as multiple deaths of
main characters occur within the traditional texts. In order to convey these elements the chorus had a

I have been a firm believer that if one does not understand where you come from you can have little
understanding of where your heading. The first thirty two pages of the book on Methodism and the
Christian Heritage in England gave a background as to Wesley s foundation that so many authors
overlook. The first page summed it up best in: The long course of English ecclesiastical history met
the force of a new concern for renewal, both individual and institutional. A long tradition of
propositional certainty of faith met the power of a personal experience of faith. An institution built by
and for the establishment met a concern for the souls and bodies of the disenfranchised (p.1,

legally exist under certain prescribed conditions: (1) meeting houses must be registered with the

How these groups formed, and purpose: their approach was aimed more toward quality than quantity

Strawson And Jean Donnellan Summary
Donnellan, in Reference and Definite Description, outlines two uses of definite descriptions. He
argues that definite descriptions can either have an attributive or a referential use. While theories
outlined by Strawson and Russell account for a single use, Donnellan advocates for both. To explain
both the attributive and referential uses, I will review two examples. The first example, put forth by
Donnellan, is for the statement Smith s murderer is insane. There are two ways of interpreting this
statement, based on whether the definite description attributes or refers. In one situation, the audience
does not know who murdered Smith. If this is the case, then the speaker does not pick someone out.
Instead, the speaker s statement uses the definite description attributively. Here, the definite
description itself is what is most significant. Meanwhile, if someone, whom we will call Jones, has
been accused of the murder, the use changes. When the speaker now makes the statement, the
audience picks out Jones as the referent. The definite description has a referential use. It acts as a tool
for picking out a particular one or thing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, when we say, Smith s murderer is insane, the implication is not true. The consequences of
this differ based on which use of description the speaker is employing. Under an attributive usage,
there would be no person who we can truly attribute insanity to. Meanwhile, with a referential usage,
the speaker could still successfully refer to Jones. However, the description, insane murderer would no
longer fit Jones. The act of picking out is the key function for a referential use of a description. Even if
the description is wrong, reference is still

Jane For Christmas
Ideas for Useful and Practical Christmas Presents
Again the season on Christmas draws ever closer. Now the sudden question of Oh my GOSH, what do
i buy Jane for christmas? begins to hail in our minds. So now where do we begin? of course the
presents range between make up, to the normal tie that we give our father in law.
I will begin with what we could give young girls from about 10 30, or even a little older.
If you know that the girl has been banned from using make up, than it s probably not the best gift to
give, even though it may seem like the most obvious gift. Oftern a make up set may also stay fogottern
in their wardrobe, especially if they have loads already. A good gift for them could be a pair of hair
straighteners, or a curling tong. These could be great for when they get a little older, and start feeling
the pressure with boys too, also for a couple of little presents to add to this if you want to, or for other
familiy members presents, setting gel and some other hair products, ... Show more content on

You could get them some cheap ones from Primark, or you could go a little up market and get them

even if you just get some fakes.
If these two things don t sound to good, there is of course chick flicks, these can be in book or movie
form. Everyone in my grade at school LOVES gossip girl, it s great to watch, so if you get them the
DVDs they are sure to love you forever. The Louise Rennisons books, they can provide hours of

Institute of Contemporary Art
Institute of Contemporary Art
How do you make a building for contemporary art that stays contemporary in the future without
stooping to a neutral language? And how do you attract a big public without compromising the selfish,
private, exclusive time we all want to have in a museum? These questions, put forward by Elizabeth
Diller of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, represent the urbanistic motivation supporting the construction of
Boston s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). In such a manner Boston s ICA engages, not only with
the urban citizen, but also the urban landscape in which the site is located. The ICA conveys the idea
of architecture as art in itself. As a presenter of art to the urban citizen and because of its open design,
the inside allows the citizens to not only appreciate the art within the building but also see the art of
the building s natural environment and setting.
Boston s ICA situated at Fan Pier in South Boston represents a shift from preconceived architectural
constructs to more innovative forms. The building s position in the middle of a currently undeveloped
urban landscape gives it a striking entity that engages the viewer in a way that facilitates its various
functions as a contemporary art museum. Furthermore its structure and location alter the population s
understanding of museum architecture as it has traditionally been defined, that it is a shell that
contains significant artistic work. A visual paradox becomes evident between

The Five Layerss Of The Deep Sea
The deep sea is a dark and mysterious place. So little is known about the deep sea. Even though some
things are not a lot known about The deep sea. There are still some things that is know about the deep
sea such as, there are five layers of the ocean, the hadalpelagic zone, Abyssopelagic Zone,
Bathypelagic Zone, Mesopelagic Zone, Epipelagic Zone. There are four main factors that the deep sea
has. There are also a lot of different creatures in the deep sea, that have different adaptations. Some of
those adaptations are not fully known. In the certain layers of the ocean show a certain Uniqueness.
About 95% of the ocean is not explored. Even though there are five known layers of the ocean, and
there might be more layers in the ocean. The first layer is called the epipelagic zone. this is the surface
layer . It goes down to about 200 m. The surface temperature range from as high as 97F(36C). There is
also the mesopelagic zone. This is called the twilight zone. The sunlight down here is very faint.
Extends from 200m to 1000m. In 1000m to 4000m is the bathypelagic zone, also known as the
midnight zone. The temperature never really changes, it usually stays at 39F. It reaches over 5850

ABSTRACT
Artificial intelligent models (AIMs) have been successfully adopted in hydrological forecasting in a
plenty of literatures. However, the comprehensive comparison of their applicability in particular short

Flood warnings must be provided with an adequate lead time for the public and the emergency
services to take actions to minimize flood damages.
Real time flood forecasting is an important and integral part of a flood warning service, and can help
to provide more accurate and timely warnings. Depending on catchment characteristics and catchment
response to rainfall, various types of flood forecasting models, including correlations, simple trigger
flood forecasting, and more sophisticated real time catchment wide integrated hydrological and
hydrodynamic models may be adopted. These models provide flow and level forecasts at the selected
key locations known as Forecast Points, which are usually located along major rivers or on streams
near urban areas that have a history of flooding.

neuros, working independently and connecting to each other by weighted links. It is capable of
simulating complex nonlinear system due to its ability of self learning, self adaption and

they, as in people around him, usually conclude that Mom spoiled me; gave me everything I wanted
because I had no pappy. In life, people see what they want to see, and automatically decide that a
person is overweight because they eat too much, or don t exercise. That may be the case for some, but
other overweight and obese people may have problems such as a slow metabolism or they eat to deal

because they know that everyone has problems in life, and they think that anyone obese has eating

Romeo And Juliet 1996 Vs 1996
The Romeo and Juliet film adaptation that I preferred was Baz Luhrmann s 1996 adaptation. The two
films, even though they were about the same story of star cross d lovers, were completely different.
The 1996 version made the timeless classic, Romeo and Juliet, much more modern and relatable. The
decision to depict Romeo and Juliet, in a bustling city was a daring move, but was still able to convey
the theme that Shakespeare had intended nearly 400 years ago. The costumes in the 2013 version were
much more realistic with peasants, kings, and townspeople being dressed, similarly to how they would
have been dressed during Shakespeare s times. On the other hand, the characters in the 1996 version

King Leontes And Queen Hermione Analysis
In Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale, King Leontes and Queen Hermione are aided by their servants
during the play. Leontes s servant Camillo appears to be loyal at the beginning of the play but quickly
switches his loyalty to King Polixenes when the King discovers his drink was poisoned. Hermione s
servent Paulina is loyal the entire play because she is constantly arguing for Hermione s innocence and
fighting against Leontes s assumptions. As the male servant, Camillo has an easier role because he
represents someone who will serve whoever he believes will allow him to live which is why he
becomes Polixenes s servant. As the female servant, Paulina takes on a more challenging role and
remains loyal to Hermione the entire play even if there are consequences from Leontes. Solely based
on the play, it is more difficult to be a female servant because Paulina had to be loyal to her superior
while Camillo took the easy route and switched his allegiance. At first, Camillo is loyal to Leontes and
even agrees to poison Polixenes because Leontes believes Hermione slept with Polixenes. Camillo
says Sir, my lord, I could do this, and that with no rash potion, but with a lingering dram that should
not work maliciously like poison, (I. 2. 318 321). Camillo is saying that he can do the act with alcohol
that works similarly to poison. By not using actual poison, it shows that Camillo already is hesitant to
go against Polixenes. Additionally, Camillo says so sovereignly being honorable. I

The Klux Klan And The Klan
Throughout the 1920 s the Ku Klux Klan or KKK were a very powerful and influential group of white
protestant men in the United States. This powerful group advocated white supremacy, racism, anti
Catholicism, and nativism just to name a few things. Many of the KKK members, as well as their
followers disagreed with abolishing slavery and believed that immigrants, homosexuals, and southern
Republicans along with many others threatened American values. The Klan hit its peak during the mid
1920s with millions of members across the country (Wormser, 2002). The groups popularity came
from their violent reputations, as well as the print and media coverage they received throughout the
years. This soon allowed the Klan to have a powerful political influence at both the state and local
level. Although the media and newspapers were important elements in helping the Klan grow it was a
double sided blade, and soon was a leading cause in the group s demise.
The Ku Klux Klan has been classified as one of the first hate groups in the United States. This was
due to their excessive amount of violent acts towards any group of people who did not meet their
standards. A few of the goals of this group included; defeating the Republican Party and its supporters,
as well as trying to maintain an absolute white reigned America. The Klan was not afraid to use
violence to get their message across, and did so on many occasions. According to Jonathan M. Bryant

through this key concept the cast encounters many issues and adventures. The productions share
similar plots, this is achieved through the construction of the characters, settings and themes. Through
the construction of the characters the plots of both the play and the film are developed. This is

One such similarity that can be seen is her name, as Bianca s name in the film was transferred straight
from the play when the adaptation was created. Other similarities include her suitors and her
personality underneath her innocence. In both the play and the film Bianca is portrayed as a naive
prize that must be won, however what makes her such a complex character is not her innocence but
what lies underneath. Throughout the whole film Bianca constantly surprises everyone with deep
insights such as, when discussing the difference between liking and loving Bianca: You know, there s
a difference between like and love. I like my Skechers, but I love my Prada backpack. Chastity: But I
love my Skechers. Bianca: That s because you don t have a Prada backpack. Even simply ideas like
this show the hidden depth of the character. However, when it comes to Bianca s sister Kat she, like
everyone around her assumes that my sisters a particularly hideous breed of looser and doesn t realise
why Kat is the way she is. until a fight with Kat about her mother s pearls takes an interesting turn
towards Bianca s relationship with Joey, when Kat tells Bianca the reason for her acting out of the
norm is because an uncomfortable encounter with Joey. Furthermore, in the play Bianca doesn t have
as many insights as such, however many quotes suggest that Bianca is by no means short of whits.
One such quote being, Katerina and Bianca s are arguing about who Bianca shall marry is it for him
you do envy me so? Nay, then you jest, and now I well perceive you have but jested with me all this

The Importance Of A Good Cafe Place
The definition of a good café place is not only about its drink or food, but also about its environment
and the employee s service attitude. I have been to many places to buy coffee in Starbucks, and I have
to say I really enjoy the Starbucks in MU in my school. The background of the Starbucks is very
interesting. The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, on March 30, 1971, by three partners
who met while they were students at the University of San Francisco. The three were inspired to sell
high quality coffee beans and equipment by coffee roasting entrepreneur Alfred Peet after he taught

North America, Latin America, Europe, and the other 37 countries, with more than 12,000 coffee shop
and more than 117,000 employees. The location of Starbucks is in the northwest corner of Memorial
Union. Although the location is not in the middle of Memorial Union, it near by the Hayden Library

The World Of Puerto Rico Essay
Boriqua! is a commonly used term among the people of Puerto Rico when referring to themselves or
their country. Puerto Rico, formerly known as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is a U.S. Territory.
It is a small island, only 100 miles long and 35 miles wide, located in the Caribbean Ocean. It is about
1,000 miles off the tip of Florida in between the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands. The
climate is tropical and mild with little variation in the seasonal temperature. The country is composed
of one large island and many smaller islands. Puerto Rico is home to 3.6 million people, and its capital
city San Juan is home to almost 400,000 people. Spanish and English are the two main languages
spoken. The country is one of few in the world that is officially bilingual (NationFacts). The term
boricua is linked with Puerto Rico s native heritage. The word comes from Boriken, the Taíno word
for the island (NationFacts), the Great Land of the Valiente and Noble Lord (prfdance.org).
The population of Puerto Rico is a mix of culture and ethnicities, whose origins can be traced back to
native Taino, Spanish and West African roots. On Columbus second voyage to the New World in 1493,
the Spaniards came across the island of Puerto Rico. At that time the island was populated by peaceful
indigenous people called the Taino indians (prfdance.org). The Taino welcomed the Spaniards, but the
Spaniards treated them severely. Due to the slave labor conditions and new European diseases

Essay On Anselm s Ontological Argument
Ontological Argument
Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings.
A being that is necessary is greater than a being that is not necessary.
If God exists as an idea, but not in reality, then we can imagine something greater than Him.
If God is a perfect being, we cannot imagine a being greater than Him.
Thus, if God exists in the mind as an idea, then God necessarily exists in reality.
In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent on
any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on anything.
In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus, making God
the only being to have necessary existence.
However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It equivocates
between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the same as nothing
greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to exist in reality will
always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything that exists in reality is
more susceptible to flaws, but a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 6. Laramie Project Thesis The Laramie Project Paper The Laramie Project, written and directed by Moisés Kaufman, is a docudrama that was written and filmed after a homosexual student was brutally beaten and killed in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. Although he was left in a gruesome and unimaginable state by the two boys that killed him, Matthew Shepard did not die until five days later in a Colorado hospital. The crime brought national attention to hate crimes and caused legislation to be passed punishing those who commit crimes for this reason. The Tectonic Theater Project, a group based in New York City, moved into the small town of Laramie, documenting the town s reactions to the crime and the attention that it had received. The information gathered from these interviews ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point in the movie, the audience has not learned much of McKinney and Russell Henderson, the other person charged of killing Shepard. Because the dialogue is in the confession setting, McKinney keeps his answers to a minimum and only answers to what has been asked. That makes the subtext during the scene very noticeable because the audience develops their opinion of the boys during that instance. Through the short confession and his demeanor, the audience can conclude that McKinney was homophobic and unwilling to grant Shepard any mercy when he beat him. The police officer asks questions that are to the point, trying to gain as much information as possible. McKinney answers without hesitation and tells what he claims to be the truth while revealing that he is nervous about the outcome of his trial. This addition to the play is interesting because it has to be staged as an actual occurrence rather than as an interview. It is similar to the speech made by Dennis Shepard because the theater group did not specifically ask questions in search for these answers, but they use the information because it gives the docudrama its sense of reality. This confession shapes the murderers as characters and helps the audience answer some lingering questions. It also allows the theater group to gather information and interviews from townspeople in response to this specific confession and how they felt about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Developing Two Bioanalytical Sensing Platforms Essay The aim of this project is to develop two bioanalytical sensing platforms as a means to study phenomena in organized 3D cellular microenvironments that appropriately model key aspects of biological habitats. Three important questions, listed below, will be addressed during this project, which we discuss in detail in Sections 3.1 3.3. (1) Can we determine concentrations of cellular biogenic species (NO, H2O2) in organized microcommunities using T CUAs? (2) Can we monitor proximity dependent cellular behavior in dynamic microcolonies? (3) Can we perform real time analyses of cellular behavior in response to in vivo environments? 3.1 T CUAs for Electrochemical Detection of Cellularly Derived Biogenic Species in Organized 3D Microenvironments. The complex environments in which cells interact can have diverse cellular populations and be susceptible to changes that influence cellular survival, division, differentiation, death and virulence. Such dynamic responses are often mediated, at least in part, by changes in the concentration of biogenic signaling molecules. Hence, detection of these chemical species is key to understanding cellular communication. Using T CUAs as electrochemical sensors in tandem with µ3DP cell cultures, we will electrochemically detect two signaling molecules, NO and H2O2, directly from macrophages and S. gordonii cells, respectively. She abandoned her husband for a young Trojan prince named Paris. Menelaus enraged by his wife s betrayal, began preparations for what is known as the Trojan War. Now in modern times many writers use this legend as poetic inspiration, but certainly view Helen in different ways. These diverse viewpoints of Helen are made known by the different tones between Edgar Allen Poe s poem To Helen and Hilda Doolittle s poem Helen. In To Helen, she is portrayed as an iconic, goddess like beauty, while in Helen, she is viewed as the bane of Greece and is described as frail and detested by others. What is noticed in the poem Helen, is the increasing abhorrence towards her. Throughout the poem each stanza has a line added on to it, symbolizing the increasingly negative feelings toward Helen. This change is implemented into the poem because of how the people of Greece reminisce on past enchantments and past ills. They begin to remember how much they praised Helen for her beauty, and then how much her act of betrayal changed their lives for the worse. To further demonstrate her feelings of hate towards Helen she states, [Greece] could love indeed the maid, only if she were laid, white ash amid funereal cypresses. Using diction such as white ash and funereal cypresses which implies Helen is cremated and a funeral is being held for her. The first reason being the level accuracy of PSA testing is questionable. The test determines a positive for the cancer based on the levels of prostate specific antigens in the blood of the patient, which can be abnormally high for multiple other reasons not related to prostate cancer. The major evidence supporting said claim is that individuals with more than 4.0 ng per mL (the threshold to test positive) can have false positive rates of 70% (Mulhem 2). The second reason would be the implications of testing positive for prostate cancer, including but not limited to unnecessary treatment of the disease. While the analysis does not back up unnecessary treatment with any statistical evidence, it does go to explain further tests and procedures to confirm and understand the nature of the patient s condition. This bleeds over to the negative physical and psychological side effects of regular prostate cancer screening cited by the analysis. Mulhem explains that after testing positive for prostate cancer, more tests are performed to determine the accuracy of the screening and if so, reveal the specificities of the cancer. The most common of these tests being the prostate biopsy, a procedure that causes a significant portion of participants to develop moderate to severe problems requiring a follow up with their doctor (Mulhem ... It is a calming remedy; it is a way to suppress secrets, emotions, and desires within an individual s mind. The Child s Bath, by Mary Cassatt, is one such painting that brings you to experience the powerful emotion of a mother s love. Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American impressionist painter. Cassatt is most remembered for her noteworthy paintings that portray special moments captured between a mother and her child. Cassatt stated, I love to paint children. They are natural and truthful. This quote is ironic to me because Cassatt was not married, nor did she have children. My notion is that Cassatt painted the important intimate bond between mother and child in this painting because she herself was longing for that feeling. As a result of painting this intimate bond she thought she could experience motherhood through art. The Child s Bath is Mary Cassatt s unconventional way of showing her long for family, independent spirit, and commitment to her craft. I feel that Cassatt was trying to show a mother the way she feels a mother should be. In the painting The Child s Bath Cassatt paints the mother as someone who is embracing the lifestyle of motherhood. • 21. Strawson And Jean Donnellan Summary Donnellan, in Reference and Definite Description, outlines two uses of definite descriptions. He argues that definite descriptions can either have an attributive or a referential use. While theories outlined by Strawson and Russell account for a single use, Donnellan advocates for both. To explain both the attributive and referential uses, I will review two examples. The first example, put forth by Donnellan, is for the statement Smith s murderer is insane. There are two ways of interpreting this statement, based on whether the definite description attributes or refers. In one situation, the audience does not know who murdered Smith. If this is the case, then the speaker does not pick someone out. Instead, the speaker s statement uses the definite description attributively. Here, the definite description itself is what is most significant. Meanwhile, if someone, whom we will call Jones, has been accused of the murder, the use changes. When the speaker now makes the statement, the audience picks out Jones as the referent. The definite description has a referential use. It acts as a tool for picking out a particular one or thing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, when we say, Smith s murderer is insane, the implication is not true. And how do you attract a big public without compromising the selfish, private, exclusive time we all want to have in a museum? These questions, put forward by Elizabeth Diller of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, represent the urbanistic motivation supporting the construction of Boston s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). In such a manner Boston s ICA engages, not only with the urban citizen, but also the urban landscape in which the site is located. The ICA conveys the idea of architecture as art in itself. As a presenter of art to the urban citizen and because of its open design, the inside allows the citizens to not only appreciate the art within the building but also see the art of the building s natural environment and setting. Boston s ICA situated at Fan Pier in South Boston represents a shift from preconceived architectural constructs to more innovative forms. The building s position in the middle of a currently undeveloped urban landscape gives it a striking entity that engages the viewer in a way that facilitates its various functions as a contemporary art museum. Therefore, in this study, the artificial neural networks (ANN), Intelligent multi agent approach, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) were selected for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Flood warnings must be provided with an adequate lead time for the public and the emergency services to take actions to minimize flood damages. Real time flood forecasting is an important and integral part of a flood warning service, and can help to provide more accurate and timely warnings. Depending on catchment characteristics and catchment response to rainfall, various types of flood forecasting models, including correlations, simple trigger flood forecasting, and more sophisticated real time catchment wide integrated hydrological and hydrodynamic models may be adopted. These models provide flow and level forecasts at the selected key locations known as Forecast Points, which are usually located along major rivers or on streams near urban areas that have a history of flooding. 2. ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK: ANN consists of a large number of parallel processing neuros, working independently and connecting to each other by weighted links. It is capable of simulating complex nonlinear system due to its ability of self learning, self adaption and generalization. The feed forward neural network (FFNN), with one input layer, one or more hidden layer and one output layer, is employed in this study. BP algorithm, firstly introduced by Rumelhart, is employed for training. The global error ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eric explains that, they, as in people around him, usually conclude that Mom spoiled me; gave me everything I wanted because I had no pappy. In life, people see what they want to see, and automatically decide that a person is overweight because they eat too much, or don t exercise. That may be the case for some, but other overweight and obese people may have problems such as a slow metabolism or they eat to deal with personal issues. The two films, even though they were about the same story of star cross d lovers, were completely different. The 1996 version made the timeless classic, Romeo and Juliet, much more modern and relatable. The decision to depict Romeo and Juliet, in a bustling city was a daring move, but was still able to convey the theme that Shakespeare had intended nearly 400 years ago. • 30. King Leontes And Queen Hermione Analysis In Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale, King Leontes and Queen Hermione are aided by their servants during the play. Leontes s servant Camillo appears to be loyal at the beginning of the play but quickly switches his loyalty to King Polixenes when the King discovers his drink was poisoned. Hermione s servent Paulina is loyal the entire play because she is constantly arguing for Hermione s innocence and fighting against Leontes s assumptions. As the male servant, Camillo has an easier role because he represents someone who will serve whoever he believes will allow him to live which is why he becomes Polixenes s servant. As the female servant, Paulina takes on a more challenging role and remains loyal to Hermione the entire play even if there are consequences from Leontes. Solely based on the play, it is more difficult to be a female servant because Paulina had to be loyal to her superior while Camillo took the easy route and switched his allegiance. At first, Camillo is loyal to Leontes and even agrees to poison Polixenes because Leontes believes Hermione slept with Polixenes. Camillo says Sir, my lord, I could do this, and that with no rash potion, but with a lingering dram that should not work maliciously like poison, (I. 2. 318 321). Camillo is saying that he can do the act with alcohol that works similarly to poison. By not using actual poison, it shows that Camillo already is hesitant to go against Polixenes. This powerful group advocated white supremacy, racism, anti Catholicism, and nativism just to name a few things. Many of the KKK members, as well as their followers disagreed with abolishing slavery and believed that immigrants, homosexuals, and southern Republicans along with many others threatened American values. The Klan hit its peak during the mid 1920s with millions of members across the country (Wormser, 2002). The groups popularity came from their violent reputations, as well as the print and media coverage they received throughout the years. This soon allowed the Klan to have a powerful political influence at both the state and local level. Although the media and newspapers were important elements in helping the Klan grow it was a double sided blade, and soon was a leading cause in the group s demise. The Ku Klux Klan has been classified as one of the first hate groups in the United States. This was due to their excessive amount of violent acts towards any group of people who did not meet their standards. A few of the goals of this group included; defeating the Republican Party and its supporters, as well as trying to maintain an absolute white reigned America. • 39. Essay On Anselm s Ontological Argument Ontological Argument Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings. In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent on any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on anything. In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus, making God the only being to have necessary existence. However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It equivocates between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the same as nothing greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to exist in reality will always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything that exists in reality is more susceptible to flaws, but a ...
