Describe Puerto Rico
Two years ago, I went to Puerto Rico and I absolutely loved it! Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island
and a U.S territory. It is east from the Dominical republic. The capital is called San Juan with 77
other cities! Puerto Rico has about 3.548 million people living there. Since Puerto Rico is an island
the weather there is one of the most unvarying climates in the world. All year around, the
temperature is usually from 75 to 83 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, the island is the hottest and wettest
around August, averaging about 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Puerto Ricooffers many cultural
entertainment, historical locations and tourist attractions. In Puerto Rico their cultural
entertainments are holidays, architecture and arts crafts. There are many holidays in Puerto Rico
a few of them are New Year s day, Three Kings Day, Christmas and more. According to
touertorico.org, the architecture heritages are from the Spanish. Narrow winding cobblestone
street and light colored tile roofed building with balconies. Old San Juan has about 400 structures
of history! As for arts crafts, Puerto Ricans are usually artistic whether the artists are trained in an
art school or self taught. Places to go see beautiful paintings are art galleries and the museum of the
University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. The craft... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Fair Use Violation
According to Halbert Ingulli (2012) fair use is the right to use limited portions of copyrighted
work, without permission for the owner (p.324). For example, when an individual uses a music
video for a product review for shoes, you want a video so the individual s can upload that video for
their review. The video viewed doesn t replace the shoe product. However the owner s rights are
not affected at all because the individual s right to use the copyrighted video would be acceptable
under fair use. The fair use limit use of copyrighted material without the individual getting
permission from the owner. Copyrightlaws were established not to give the author the right to deny
their work to other people, but instead to encourage its creation (Halbert Ingulli, 2012, p.324). One
example of music sharing files is the case of Sony BMG Music Entertainment V. Tennenbaum

Tennenbaum file sharing was non commercial and did not earn money for sharing files and feel

However if Tennenbaum argued the files were shared and download the software and was used
only to store music he would have been covered under fair use. Instead, Tennenbaum argued he
share and allow friends to download music for free and the courts disagreed (Halbert Ingulli,
2012, p.324 328). I believe the balance leans toward user fair use then the creator because it is

Vitamins And Minerals Of Vitamins
Vitamins and minerals
The vitamins and minerals are substances found in our daily diet foods that promote healthy and
balanced development of our body and are also called micronutrients because they are needed in
small amounts thereof to achieve that function. Most essential vitamins can not be synthesized
(produced) by the body, so it can obtain through the balanced intake of vitamins contained in natural
foods.
Vitamin deficiency is called hypovitaminosis while excessive vitamin level is called
hypervitaminosis.
Vitamins can be classified according to their solubility: if they are water soluble or are lipid soluble.
In humans there are 13 vitamins are classified into two groups: (9) water soluble (8 B complex and
vitamin C) and (4) soluble (A, D, E and K).
Water soluble vitamins
It is coenzymes or precursors of coenzymes, needed for many chemical reactions of metabolism,
in this group of vitamins, vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin or nicotinic acid),
B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 / B8 (biotin), B9 (folic acid), B12 (cobalamin) and
vitamin C (ascorbic acid).
Lipid soluble vitamins
The lipid solubles vitamins A, D, E and K, are consumed with foods that contain fat and stored in
the liver and fatty tissues. Because it can be stored in body fat is not necessary to take them every
day so it is possible, after a sufficient consumption, survive a period without their input.

Vitamin deficiency can cause more or less serious disorders,

Essay on Zimbabwe Should Not Have To Suffer This Way
Zimbabwe Should Not Have To Suffer This Way
In recent years, Zimbabwe has been prone to increasing violence as a result of a corrupt
government. There have been many instances reported to HRWO (Human rights watch
organization) of personal accounts where landowners and workers alike have been subjected to
beatings, pillaging, threats, and overall persecution. These acts of terrorism are the products of a
military coup that is currently in power called the Zanu PF and orchestrated by the veterans of the
war for Zimbabwe s Independence.
The world must not stand by and watch these crimes against humanity take place with a complacent
eye any longer. This tyrannical powers regime of terror which enacted the Zimbabwe land reform

The election was a landslide and the days of a white owned tyrannical government was over, or at
least that s what the native people were led to believe.
One British condition in the Lancaster Agreements was the ensured protection of white farm
owners for the first ten years of the new government. These conditions simply said were willing
seller, willing buyer meaning that land would not be acquired forcefully from any already
functional farms. After the term of the agreement was up, the government had control of
redistributing the land to the people. For the first ten years redistribution was slow and most of the
land was still in the hands of the white commercial farmers. During this period President Mugabe
took out enormous loans from the World Bank and invested it in institutions designed to fit the
luxurious standards of the elite. They awarded the majority of usable land to the elite of
Zimbabwe, while the majority of the country was rapidly growing poorer, and paying for the
government s outstanding loans through a process called Economic Structural Adjustment
Program. This is a program the World Bank and the IMF (International Monetary Fund) setup to

Analysis Of Liverpool
Original piece
Liverpool were back in premier league action for a mouth watering clash against an always
entertaining Arsenal side. Surprising news broke before the match which meant that current first
choice Simon Mignolet had been dropped or Rested in the words of Liverpool manager JГјrgen
Klopp replaced my Loris Karius.
And when team news was announced the always nervous looking Karius entrance was confirmed
as one of only two changes made by the Liverool manager, who also introduced Joe Gomez for
Nathan Clyne. Goals were expected at Anfield where the Reds supported the Owen McVeigh

However the full flowing Salah did finally find the net when he bolted on to Joel Matip s clearing
header, ran the length of the pitch, and slotted coolly into the bottom corner for a magnificent
break away goal which gave the Reds a two goal lead at the half time.
Sadio Mane had a massive chance to end the contest once and for all with 25 minutes remaining, but
the Senegalese saw his finish battered off the line as it was heading in the net. A phenomenal fourth
did arrive seven minutes later, when substitute Daniel Sturridge joined was in on the act, heading
home Salah s pin point cross only minutes after coming on.
With Arsenal by now well and truly deflated, the Reds then saw out the last 13 minutes untroubled
to earn an important and crucial victory at Anfield . It was a sensational performance from the
Reds, and one which saw a third straight win recorded over Wenger s side for the first time since
1997.
The Man of the match award was handed to new summer signing, Mo Salah, who posed a constant
threat to the wounded Arsenal defence all game. The electric reds look in good stead for the rest of
the season but the pathetic Arsenal

Rapid Critical Appraisal
Was it really rapid or was it more of a laborious process? In my opinion, the rapid critical
appraisal (RCA) process was not rapid. It was a process requiring considerable effort and time.
Though tedious, the RCA process helped me to stay focused, analyze in depth information about
the studies, and select most relevant articles that would be beneficial in answering the PICOT
question and appropriate for my evidence based practice(EBP) proposal. According to Melnyk
Fineout Overholt (2015), RCA is one of the key components to the evidence based practice
process. It helps to evaluate the validity, reliability, and applicability of a researcharticle. Did
reading the abstract help you make quick decisions about including or excluding the study?
Reading the abstract was absolutely a helpful strategy in sifting through the articles. It helped me to
make quick decisions about including or excluding the study. Abstract is the reflection of the
article as it provides an idea about what to expect in a research article. It provides an overall
summary of the components of the article and outlines the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

on what was needed from within the article. I always saved all research articles in a folder in my
computer first and later eliminated or included them using the RCA process and reading abstract.
What didn t work well for me was when I tried to read through an article and then try to fill out the
evaluation table from recollection of what I just read. Filling it out in real time helped me to stay

Sea Venture In The Tempest
As described in the Arden edition of The Tempest, despite its beautiful visual wonders, not so
much happens (Vaughan 2) in this relatively short Shakespearean play. However, it had become a
symbol of the English Explorations during Shakespeare s life time a period of geological,
governmental, and artistic discoveries. In this regard, the story of Sea Venturethrough the Bermuda
islands, is very often told, since it is the inspiration of The Tempest. The story and the play are very
closely related that a significant part of the story made it into the writing of the play. The story
becomes a candid example of England during the Age of Explorations the people wondering about
life in their colonies, the sailors bringing back the shocking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Frankly, it is very difficult to see peace and even civilized manners in the English society back
then. People would argue every time, though they survived an enormous accident together;
stealing each others goods were so prevalent; the place where they thought was safely colonized
had, in fact, almost completely disappeared. However, we, as people from 2015, would be able
to understand Shakespeare, who insisted to make this disastrous story as a play, because the
story itself is so fascinating. It, ironically, is a great pleasure to see the English struggling to face
the new world coming at them. It seems like their trait of willing to discover makes the story
interesting. It is how they are not avoiding the challenges that make us want to see more about
how they are going to overcome those challenges and engages us further into the story. This
perhaps is the reason why the story is so often told until these days. It gives us a clear idea about
what lives were like in the Age of Explorations during England how they were struggling, but
desiring. In this regard, it isn t strange for us to wonder if Shakespeare merely wanted to retell this
journey. Shakespeare must have been impressed after reading Strachey s writings. It perhaps was
written in the hopes that the readers could take away something from the English back then from
their open, active attitudes towards challenges. We,

The Dire Wolf
The Dire Wolf
The species that is known as the dire wolf is a large and powerful ancestor of modern wolves and
dogs which is now extinct. It has, however, left a rich legacy in myths and legends across many
northern countries where it once roamed as one of the most feared predators of all time. This
paper traces the way that the dire wolf has been represented in myths and legends of the past,
and also in the stories, films and computer video games of the modern world. The exact species
which gave rise to all the legends is the Canis dirus and it lived in the Pleistocene Epoch (2.6
million to 11.700 years ago) in both North and South America (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2012, p.
1). It was considerably larger than the modern gray wolf, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This game shows the dire wolf as both a fearful enemy and a loyal fighter in battle, and this
reflects an appreciation of its qualities to contribute towards good or evil outcomes. In the music
genre, the band Grateful Dead immortalized the dire wolf as six hundred pounds of sin which was
grinning outside the window at a hard drinking, hard gambling man. The chorus of the song don t
murder me implies that the dire wolf has come to take the man s life. The dire wolf symbolizes all
the wrong that a person has done in the past, and the likelihood that cruel retribution will come one
day. These examples outlined above have shown that the dire wolf has maintained its fascination for
human beings long after its extinction. Its combination of force, cruelty and cunning, along with
enormous size, and tendency to roam in packs serve as an example of power even in very harsh
conditions. It has connotations of majesty, and also cruelty, especially when dealing out justice and
revenge. Even in the twenty first century it has the power to cast fear into our modern imagination.

Women During The 19th Century
Men and women play different roles in society. In the beginning of the 19th century, the gap
between males and females was much larger than it is now. Back then men and women were
usually assumed to have certain occupations. For example, in the 1950s women were supposed to
become housewives and stay at home all day cleaning, cooking, or taking care of their children
(Parry 1584). Men on the other hand, were suspected to go out and work all day doing whatever
occupation they held. Due to the media uprising in the 19th century, women began to feel restrained
on what they can accomplish. They began to care about their appearance more than anything else.
This is one of the factors that created the gendergap, but society has always had the gap that has
separated the two. This picture was taken in California in 1921, and it depicts Dr. Louis Estes
helping his daughter put on her boxing gloves while she gets ready to square up against her little
brother. The title of the picture describes the daughter as husky which does not make sense. The
word husky, usually applied to overweight individuals, does not accurately describe the girl in the
photo. It is possible that the author may be referring to her as more masculine than feminine in the
picture. This influential image shows the daughter as taller than both males in the photo which
asserts dominance. Also, both Dr. Estes and his son s eyes, both lead to the daughter s, which
makes her the focal point of the image. Dr. Estes

Research Paper On Valley Forge Dbq
Valley Forge has turned into a graveyard. Thousands of soldiers lie sick or dead. The continental
army has camped there for the winter, 18 miles away from the British in Philadelphia. My nine
month enlistment is almost up, and I must make a choice: Should I re enlist or go home to my
aging mother? The decision has been very demanding. I have thought long and hard about this,
and have come to a choice. I have decided to re enlist for three reasons which are the fact that there
are not many soldiers, to help others, and because I can do what others can t to aid the cause. The
first reason I will re enlist is because there are not many soldiers. Many soldiers are sick and close
to dying. Those who are alive are too weak to do anything. Nearly 2,000 soldiers have died due
to illness so far.(Doc A) I expect that there will be more death to come. I am strong and need to
stay so that we will have an army that can conquer the British. . If everyone who was merely

History Of The Campaign Finance
History of The Campaign Finance in the U.S
Campaign finance in the United States is the financing of electoral campaigns at the federal, state,
and local levels. At the federal level, campaign finance law is enacted by Congress and enforced by
the Federal Election Commission (FEC), an independent federal agency. Although more campaign
spending is privately financed, public financing is available for qualifying candidates for President
of the United States during both the primaries and the general election. Eligibility requirements
must be fulfilled to qualify for a government subsidy, and those that do accept government funding
are usually subject to spending limits on money.
To gain votes from recently enfranchised, unpropertied voters, Andrew Jackson launched his
campaign for the 1828 election through a network of partisan newspapers across the nation. After
his election, Jackson began a political patronage system that rewarded political party operatives,
which had a profound effect on future elections. Eventually, appointees were expected to
contribute portions of their pay back to the political party. During the Jacksonian era, some of the
first attempts were made by corporations to influence politicians. Jackson claimed that his charter
battle against the Second Bank of the United States was one of the great struggles between
democracy and the money power. While it was rumored that The Bank of the United States spent
over $40,000 from 1830 to 1832 in an effort to stop

What Are Leonardo Da Vinci s Accomplishments
Leonardo da Vinci was the greatest masters of the Renaissance. He was a famous painter, sculptor,
architect, engineer, musician, inventor, and scientist. No other man has been gifted in as many
different ways as he was. Leonardo was born in the small town of Vinci, Tuscany. He was the son
of a Florentine notary and a peasant girl. In the mid 1460S, Leonardo and his parents moved to
Florence. He was then given the best education that Florence could possibly offer. He advanced
both socially and intellectually. Leonardo s extreme artistic talent took him to Verrocchio s

He worked on the composition for a long time, but again, he did not finish his work. From 1495 to
1497, he worked very hard on his masterpiece, The Last Supper. While Leonardo stayed in Milan,
he made many more paintings, theater designs, and even a model for the dome of the Milan
Cathedral. His largest piece of work was the bronze monument to Francesco Sforza. However,
when the Sforza family was chased out of Milan by French forces, the statue was left unfinished
and ended up being destroyed by French archers who used it for target practice. In 1503,
Leonardo was a member in a group of artists who would decide where the marble statue called The
David should be located. Florentine Sculptor, Michelangelo, did the statue. Near the end of 1503,
Leonardo began to think of a decoration for the great hall of the Palazzo Becchi. He was to paint

ideas and sketches but he never actually finished the wall painting. During his stay in Florence,
Leonardo painted more portraits, however only one survives still today. It is the Mona

The Importance Of Traditional Liberal Arts
In America, there has been many people that question the importance of including traditional liberal
arts within our own education. Within this controversy, there have been many voices that have
spoken up. One voice happened to be Sanford Ungar, author, and previous liberal arts president at
Goucher College in Maryland. Ungar believes that Americans are steering away from the traditional
liberal education. Choosing educational paths that lead them on a one way career path, and not
realizing what a liberal education has to offer. Some Americans believe that liberal artshas become
irrelevant in today s society, however, A 2009 survey for the Association of American Colleges and
Universities actually found that more than three quarters of our nation s employers recommend that
college bound students pursue a liberal education ( Ungar 228). By providing this information,
Ungar urges Americans to open up their minds to the pursuit of a liberal arts education. With that
being said, there were others who had different opinions.
W.H Brady Scholar, political scientist, and author, Charles Murray, expresses his own thoughts.
It is said that liberal education is part of Core Knowledge. Some even say that everyone residing
in the United States needs to know the ins and outs of Core Knowledge. Regardless of what
others say, in Murray s eyes, people have a choice. The author Murray, emphasizes that the
material covered in liberal arts is for people who enjoy that subject of

The Global Collapse Of Fish Species

Global Collapse of Fish Species. Within the article, experts cited that if fishing around the world
continues at its present pace, more and more species will vanish, marine ecosystems will unravel
and there will be global collapse of all species currently fished, possibly as soon as midcentury.
(Dean, 2006). The issue of overfishing, which is defined as continuously taking more fishthan can

There is one reason as to how the population of the cod collapsed: overfishing. Before the 1960s,
the cod of Newfoundland had sustained a population where natality and mortality rates (includes
natural death, death by predators, and fishing) were balanced. However, when foreign factory ships
migrated towards Newfoundland, the population of the cod began to drastically increase. In the
1960s, over 30% of foreign ships reported catching over 800,000 tons of cod in a single year. From
that point on, the birth and growth rates of the cod began to decrease. As of result, Canada
attempted to take control of the fishery; unfortunately, it was unable to rebuild the population. Due
to this,
Canada was unable to meet it s target catch in 1991. This caused not only a problem in the food
industry, but for the economy as a whole. Once Crosbie closed the cod fishery, about 20,000
people became unemployed. This event depicts how overfishing affects the jobs of those who work
in the industry. According to the United States Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO),
commercial fishing employs about 44 million people. If fish populations continue to decline,
millions of people will become unemployed as did those in Newfoundland. This will effect the
incomes of families, thus affecting the economic statuses of countries. Along with those who work
as fisherman, those who work in the food industry are affected as well.

H. P. Lovecraft s Influence In Literature
How could someone become famously known as an author if they have never even written a book
in their lifetime? Well, the acceptance of H. P. Lovecraft as an important American writer, and as
the finest exponent of dark fantasy or (Lovecraftian horror) since Poe, has not come quickly or
easily. Much of this neglect was due to the rejection of pulp writers. The primary outlet for his
stories was Weird Tales , a pulp magazine whose circulation barely reached twenty thousand a
month although its influence on horror fictionhas been enormous. His two most famous works
were The Outsider and The Call Of Cthulhu, who s contributions to the supernatural horror genre
and original approach to dark fantasy revitalized the genre and influenced every important new

Notes On Leadership And Management
Leadership versus Management
1. Define Management.
Management is the organizational process that includes strategic planning, setting; objectives,
managing resources, deploying the human and financial assets needed to achieve objectives, and
measuring results. Management also includes recording and storing facts and information for later
use or for others within the organization.
Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people
and other organizational resources.
There are three main characteristics that management focus on: It is a process or series of
continuing and related activities, involving and concentrating on reaching organizational goals, and
reaching the goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources.
2. Define Leadership. Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to
influence and guide followers or other members of an organization. Leadership involves making
sound (and sometimes difficult) decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing
achievable goals and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve these
goals. Leadership is the ability of a company s management to make sound decisions and inspire
others to perform well. Effective leaders are able to set and achieve challenging goals, to take swift
and decisive action even in difficult situations, to outperform their competition, to take calculated
risks and to

Gender Roles In To Kill A Mockingbird
The song Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya is a powerful number that Jean Louise (Scout) Finch in
Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird would love; it voices her tomboyish actions through a song
that seems like something she would listen to and live by. Women have come a long way in
history and have gained countless rights in the process. Although Scout is told to dress as a proper
lady by every other womanin Maycomb, she stayed stubborn; her stubbornness was reciprocated by
other suffragettes, and that is how they acquired multiple rights. Genderroles for women have
developed dramatically over the years, from 1930 to the present women now are more respected
and are not held to the same standard of ladylikeness . Starting with some of the women in To
Kill a Mockingbird, the roles that women in Maycomb play follow similar social pattern; they
all act very opinionated, and their job is to be seen and not heard. For example, in the novel,
Miss Stephanie does not think that Scout could become a proper lady in Maycomb if she does
not wear dresses more often (Lee 234). Miss Stephanie is acting as a gossip in this excerpt, as
numerous women did. Women were expected to be poised and very silent, which is part of the
reason why Miss Stephanie does not think Scout can become a young woman until she dresses
the part. Mrs. Dubose also gets on to Scout for not acting well mannered, saying And you she
pointed an arthritic finger at me what are you doing in those overalls? You should be in a dress
and camisole, young lady! (Lee 105). Miss Dubose was raised in a time where being
sophisticated was the only job a woman was actually allowed to do. She thinks that Scout is
sullying the Finch name in this passage since she is acting very boyish when she should be
trying to act in the same manner as the other little girls do; wearing dresses and not playing
around outside like boys. Aunt Alexandra also reprimands Scout for not being like other girls,
and Aunt Alexandra moves in with Atticus due to the fact that she is not ecstatic that Calpurnia
is the only female influence in her life. In her eyes, Calpurnia does not live a Maycomb lady s
typical life, so Scout will not grow up to be a proper Maycomb lady if she keeps

Abraham Maslow s Theory Of Psychology
Abstract
A psychologist by the name of Abraham Harold Maslow only accepted the ultimate best for
himself in life. Born to Samuel and Rose Schilofsky, Maslow was one of their seven children.
His parents were not well educated. Driven for success, they pushed Maslow very hard, but
often underestimated him and categorized him as being ill. He felt often neglected as a child.
Maslow read to stimulate his mind. Because he knew that his parents would appreciate it, he
studied law at the City College of New York. Maslow realized that law was not for him so he
went to Cornell University. His first cousin, Bertha, and he got married and they had two children.
Maslow s love for psychology was sparked at the university. He obtained a host of degrees. He
returned to New York where he started studying and researching about human sexuality. He taught
full time at Brooklyn College. He was the chair of psychology at Brandeis until his health started to
fail. On June 8, 1970, Abraham Maslow died in California. The Life and Career of Abraham Maslow

UMUC Frederick MD Network Proposal
The network IP addressing scheme for the Frederick MD building should be designed to ease
network management. A well thought out network subnet design enables administrators to quickly
locate computers by IP address by building floor and room, and whether the computer is a server,
a student computer, staff computer or instructor s computer. A proper subnet design will also
minimize broadcast traffic that decreases network performance, by reducing the total number of
computers allowed in each broadcast domain. A proper subnet design will also provide for

Performance On Immediate Retention Tests
Roediger Karpicke (2005) predict that performance on immediate retention tests would rise with the
number of study opportunities, due to massed practice usually only producing short term results.
They also believe that taking a retention directly after a study session would result in superior
retention on delayed tests compared to repeatedly studying the material. This would result in
proving that test taking as a better means to improve long term retention compared to re
presentation of material during testing.
Methods
In order to obtain this information on retention two experiments were conducted using
psychological testing to collect data (Weiten, 2014). The first was a experimental 2 x 3 factorial
design, using one hundred twenty undergraduate students from Washington University, ages 18 to
24 (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The independent variables that were manipulated were the different
learning conditions and time between studying and test taking, as well as when the subjects would
take the final retention test which occurred either 5 minutes, 2 days, or 1 week after the end of the
1st phase of the experiment (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The dependent variable were how much
information could the subjects reten and their performance on the final retention test given in phase
2 of the experiment. The order of learning conditions and the order of the passages given to the
subjects were the same were counterbalanced across all the subjects. After the experiment was

Astor Pazzolla
Astor Piazzolla is from Argentina and became a composer. He created a new tango genre called
nuevo tango which incorporates jazz into tango that also infers expanding instrumentation. Since
tango had lost in popularity around 1950s and 1960s, Piazzolla was considered to be the saviour
of tango since he created the new genre of tango. Traditional tango was for dance, not for listening.
Furthermore, it was listened and played by poor people or lower middle class people. In 1950s,
Tango started losing it s creativity and popularity. Since then, tango became things that were
listened and studied. In fact, new tango musicwas not allowed to be melodic since tango was used
for protestant and expression which means that the music has power.
Piazzolla developed the traditional tango in 1955 and it has gained popularity in upper middle
class as well as international tourists. Tango that Piazzolla developed was for listening due to its
rhythm. He transformed tango music from a functional dance style to a symbolic social statement
(Live Class session 3). Those statement represented the poor and oppressed people in Argentina as
well as the world. It also inferred the importance of each human being. The melody of his tango

Both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions are nucleophilic substitution reactions, though they are slightly
different. Sn2 reactions have bimolecular displacement and are also concerted, meaning the bond
making and the bond breaking processes happen in one step.1 Sn1 reactions require two steps and
have unimolecular displacement. This difference can be seen when comparing Figure 1 and Figure

The Myth Of The Divine Comedy
The traditional myths stories of legends, undying divine beings, and horrific creatures have been
the wellsprings of numerous books, films, plays, and art. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and
standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the
best writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each
part of The Divine Comedyhas been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement
decisions, to the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology
has been inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions
coming about because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized
agnostic myths pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established
mythology in Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the
oddity between the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually,
investigation of the myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative
qualities the myths add to the lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular
myths, or talks about the impacts of the established artists themselves. However to completely
esteem and perceive what Dante did in his lyric, we should not just comprehend the social
responses to the myths and the individuals

The Etiology of Addiction Disease Model Essay examples
Addiction is like all behaviours the business of the brain . Addictions are compulsive physical and
psychological needs from habit forming sustenances like nicotine, alcohol, and drugs. Being
occupied with or involved in such activities, leads a person who uses them again and again to
become tolerant and dependent eventually experiencing withdrawal. (Molintas, 2006).
Addictive drugs cause dopamine neurons to release dopamine, the pleasure hormone. The narcotics

stimulated. Endorphins are produced and released within the brain, creating a high and reinforcing

(David Capuzzi, 2008, p. 20) Those people who over consumed were regarded as weak willed or
sinful but were not felt to be a threat to society. Records indicate that people sought help for
drinking problems in Egypt approximately 5000 years ago. Even though there has been substantial
research, many questions remain regarding addiction (David Capuzzi, 2008, p. 20).
Historically in the later part of the 18th century, the teachings and writings of Benjamin Rush
actually precipitated the birth of the American disease concept of alcoholism as an addiction (David
Capuzzi, 2008, p. 10). Benjamin Rush; a physician, originally from Philadelphia began to write
about inebriety (UnKnown, 2011). He referred to this condition as a disease of the will, resulting
in loss of control, and that over drinking behaviour is curable but only through abstinence (David
Capuzzi, 2008, p. 10) (UnKnown, 2011). The rationale for this view was that no rational person
would deliberately engage in a behaviour that was both anti social and harmful to them. Hence they
must be consuming substances against their will, which is unlike normal people. They had no
control over their consumption so they had to have a disease (UnKnown, 2011).
In 1960 E.M. Jellinek a scientist, was credited for introducing this controversial and initially
popular model of addiction from past research of the late 1930`s and early 1940`s. His findings
have received wide acceptance however, the research from which he

Los Vendidos Sparknotes
A Clash of Social Classes
Los Vendidos, is a one action play written by Luis Valdez. It compares the Hispanic population
using stereotypical characters who are currently on sale at a Used Mexican Lot. It takes place in
California in 1967 in a dense Mexican population. Politics and culture collide together. The Hispanic
population comes to the United States to increase their wealth. This play demonstrates how
Mexican Americans have struggled to find their identity and equality in the United States. (CLC)
Stereotypes and Marxism plays a role in the play.
Miss. Jimenez is the protagonist in the play. She is the secretary that works for Governor Reagan s
office. She oversees finding a Mexican American for the administration. The Mexican American is
needed to help promote business and votes from the Hispanic population. The secretary is Hispanic
herself, but tries to hide her identity. This is shown when the salesman, Honest Sancho, pronounces
her name the correct way and she has a quick response, Don t you speak English? What s wrong
with you? (Vendidos) She doesn t want her name associated with the Mexican culture. Stereotype is
shown when the secretary only wants the Mexican American. She has difficulty with social identity
by rejecting her own culture.
The secretary and the other Hispanic figures have the same culture. Since Miss. Jimenez is
rejecting her own culture and appearing as an American, there is difference between social classes.

centers on the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority, who is targeted by several killers dressed in red devil

series includes violence, gore and the use of sexual language, the show tends to be more satirical
than terrifying. In addition, Scream Queens is a unique show because it parodies and pokes fun at
the horror genre. An analysis of the pilot episode from Scream Queens (2015 present) illustrates
how the TV aesthetics of the show develop and portray the themes of death, revenge and good vs
evil. Plus, demonstrates the mood of fear and humor and lastly, the narrative of a comedyand horror

methods that are distinguishable from classic TV network aesthetics. Ultimately, this essay will
explain how each aesthetic element: the narrative, cinematography, production design, sound and
editing illustrate how the show s genre mixing of horror and comedy creates an acceptable

is and whom Anwar wants him to be and this puts the friendship under great strain resulting in
Maxxie refusing to turn up to Anwars party. Gay adolescents who are more conventional in their
gender characteristics have the option of passing as straight and many do. (Op. cit. p. 461) This
situation happens a lot in real life but can be the cause of many problems, both for the person
dealing with feelings of homosexuality and hiding them and those around that person. Many people
have reported having feelings of being trapped within themselves and having pent up aggression
due to being in such a situation, which isn t hard to believe when we think that adolescence is when
we discover ourselves sexually. Adolescence involves the development of a sense of self and social
identity independent of one s parents (Erikson, 1968; Steinberg 2004). Answering questions about
one s sexuality figure centrally in this

A Study On Norwich University Essay
Norwich University Norwich University is a military college located in Vermont. This private
university is the oldest military college in the country. The university was founded in the early
1800 s and was followed by only five other military colleges. The Department of Defense
recognizes Norwich University as the birthplace of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC).
Norwich University creates a supportive learning environment by maintaining an average student
faculty ratio of one to 12. The Academic Achievement Center employs professionals who regularly
connect with students to offer academic, study skills and social networking support. Norwich
University does not employ teaching assistants, so instructors offer better quality classes. Norwich
University s student body is predominately made up of military personnel, veterans and family, but
civilian students are completely integrated in the classrooms and in extracurricular activities.
Civilian and pre military students, such as those from the Corps of Cadets program, have separate
residences. Norwich University offers over 30 academic programs, 20 varsity sports teams and a
large amount of clubs and organizations for students. They have nationally recognized academic
programs and departments. This includes the nationally recognized David Crawford School of
Engineering, the Army ROTC approved Nursing program, the Emmy award winning
Communications program and the National Security Agency approved Computer

Singapore s Upcoming 2020 General Elections Essay
Introduction
In light of Singapore s upcoming 2020 general elections, there are a few changes Singapore s
electoral system should embrace to ensure a more effective electoral process and accurate
outcomes. A condition for democracy to occur is to have free and fair elections as it depicts
popular choice and control over government. The People s Action Party (PAP) has dominated the
political playing field since 1965 and this resulted in Singapore being known as a model of soft
authoritarianism with limited democracy (Yeo. L.H, 2010). Although Singapore has seen an
increase in the number of opposition parties, these parties appear to be ineffective to compete
against the PAP.
Singapore employs a unique multi party parliamentary system (Wikipedia). The President is the
head of state while the Prime Minister is the head of government. Presidential and parliamentary
elections follow the First Past The Post (FPTP) system. While it is the simplest form of plurality
system, given Singapore s growing multi ethnic population and rising number of opposition parties,
this system may not be as effective as before.
Hence, this essay will cover how the FPTP system is currently employed in Singapore, and the
evaluation of its effectiveness. I will also discuss briefly why I did not choose alternative
electoral systems such as Two Round System (TRS) and Party Block Vote (PBV) System. Lastly, I
will proceed to discuss about Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) System for Singapore that can

Marshall University
Marshall University is very special to its community because of its founded history, cataclysmic
plane crash, and its ability to come together as a town when tragedy strikes. Marshall University
was originally founded in 1837 for the children of local farmers. The local citizens of what is now
Huntington, West Virginia petitioned the General Assembly of Virginia to establish an advanced
educational program named after Chief Justice John Marshall. By 1850, financial support and the
instruction given had deteriorated. Trustees then decided it was time to give it up and offered it to
the Western Virginia Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The church accepted and was

They were enrolled in three programs: the primary, academic, and the normal. The primary school
served children ages six to fourteen; the academic school equipped students for business and for
further education. The normal school trained teachers for their duties in the educational system.
Furthermore, the first class of normal school students graduated in June 1870.
From 1880 into the 1900 s, Marshall College went through many changes. Academia and the Music
department expanded, enrollment finally surpassed two hundred, and the business department was
established. In 1907, Lawrence J. Corby, the president, developed intercollegiate athletics. The
school also added an addition for alumni and College Hall, a dormitory for women. Additionally, in
1913, the legislation granted $158,000, $45,000 of that went to a new science building and a
gymnasium.
The years between 1915 and 1946 struck a steady growth in expansions, enrollment, and
improvement of a curriculum. Marshall s curriculum was then eligible to be a four year college in
1920, and awarded its first baccalaureate degrees in 1921. The school also had more teachers earing
terminal degrees, developed a student government, and the athletics department earned the
nickname the Thundering Herd. In spite of the Great Depression, a music building, student union,
two dormitories were built, and the Albert Gallatin Jenkins Laboratory School was established for
education

Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors In Mcdonough
According to Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in McDonough, the most common pre funeral
services are viewings, wakes, and visitations.
Below, their staff explain the purpose and distinct characteristics of each of these pre funeral
services.
Viewing: Viewings allow friends and familyto gather together and pay tribute to the deceased.
They are usually held at a funeral home or place of worship. The body will be present, and the
family may choose to have an open or closed casket. Visitations are traditionally held the evening
before the funeral, although some families decide to hold them a few days earlier.
Wake: People often refer to viewings and wakes interchangeably; however, there are subtle
differences between the two services. While

Shadowing In High School
The first time I was first exposed to the overwhelming benefits of Optometric medicine was when I
was 17 years old. It was the summer of 2011 and I was going to be a senior in high school. I
decided to shadow my Optometrist, Dr. Lobe, for a senior project. Before shadowing, I knew that
the Optometrist was a person I went once a year to get my eyes checked. I loved seeing my eye
doctor and getting my eyes dilated, I would go back to school bragging to all my friends and
educating them about why my pupils were dilated and the benefits of seeing an Optometrist.
During the 40 hours I spent shadowing, my younger sister, Madison, who was 12 at the time,
was seeing Dr. Lobe for accommodation problems. She had just started middle school and was
doing poorly on the standardized tests in her classes. While on a routine eye exam, Dr. Lobe
discovered that she was having difficulties focusing on small print. That summer I spend
shadowing, I worked both in the office and at home with Madison. I helped her train and strengthen
her eye muscles with the exercises Dr. Lobe prescribed to her.... Show more content on

I was able to witness and experience first hand the enormous effect this seemingly simple summer
treatment had on her life. Madison went from getting low B s and C s on exams to getting straight
A s the next semester she was in school. Today she just finished her junior year of high school and
was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, an accomplishment that would not have
been possible without the accommodation training she had that

  • 11. Women During The 19th Century Men and women play different roles in society. In the beginning of the 19th century, the gap between males and females was much larger than it is now. Back then men and women were usually assumed to have certain occupations. For example, in the 1950s women were supposed to become housewives and stay at home all day cleaning, cooking, or taking care of their children (Parry 1584). Men on the other hand, were suspected to go out and work all day doing whatever occupation they held. Due to the media uprising in the 19th century, women began to feel restrained on what they can accomplish. They began to care about their appearance more than anything else. This is one of the factors that created the gendergap, but society has always had the gap that has separated the two. History Of The Campaign Finance History of The Campaign Finance in the U.S Campaign finance in the United States is the financing of electoral campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. At the federal level, campaign finance law is enacted by Congress and enforced by the Federal Election Commission (FEC), an independent federal agency. Although more campaign spending is privately financed, public financing is available for qualifying candidates for President of the United States during both the primaries and the general election. There is one reason as to how the population of the cod collapsed: overfishing. Before the 1960s, the cod of Newfoundland had sustained a population where natality and mortality rates (includes natural death, death by predators, and fishing) were balanced. However, when foreign factory ships migrated towards Newfoundland, the population of the cod began to drastically increase. In the 1960s, over 30% of foreign ships reported catching over 800,000 tons of cod in a single year. From that point on, the birth and growth rates of the cod began to decrease. As of result, Canada attempted to take control of the fishery; unfortunately, it was unable to rebuild the population. Due to this, Canada was unable to meet it s target catch in 1991. This caused not only a problem in the food industry, but for the economy as a whole. Once Crosbie closed the cod fishery, about 20,000 people became unemployed. This event depicts how overfishing affects the jobs of those who work in the industry. According to the United States Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), commercial fishing employs about 44 million people. • 24. Gender Roles In To Kill A Mockingbird The song Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya is a powerful number that Jean Louise (Scout) Finch in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird would love; it voices her tomboyish actions through a song that seems like something she would listen to and live by. Women have come a long way in history and have gained countless rights in the process. Although Scout is told to dress as a proper lady by every other womanin Maycomb, she stayed stubborn; her stubbornness was reciprocated by other suffragettes, and that is how they acquired multiple rights. Genderroles for women have developed dramatically over the years, from 1930 to the present women now are more respected and are not held to the same standard of ladylikeness . Starting with some of the women in To Kill a Mockingbird, the roles that women in Maycomb play follow similar social pattern; they all act very opinionated, and their job is to be seen and not heard. For example, in the novel, Miss Stephanie does not think that Scout could become a proper lady in Maycomb if she does not wear dresses more often (Lee 234). Miss Stephanie is acting as a gossip in this excerpt, as numerous women did. Women were expected to be poised and very silent, which is part of the reason why Miss Stephanie does not think Scout can become a young woman until she dresses the part. Mrs. Dubose also gets on to Scout for not acting well mannered, saying And you she pointed an arthritic finger at me what are you doing in those overalls? You should be in a dress and camisole, young lady! (Lee 105). Miss Dubose was raised in a time where being sophisticated was the only job a woman was actually allowed to do. She thinks that Scout is sullying the Finch name in this passage since she is acting very boyish when she should be trying to act in the same manner as the other little girls do; wearing dresses and not playing around outside like boys. Aunt Alexandra also reprimands Scout for not being like other girls, and Aunt Alexandra moves in with Atticus due to the fact that she is not ecstatic that Calpurnia is the only female influence in her life. In her eyes, Calpurnia does not live a Maycomb lady s typical life, so Scout will not grow up to be a proper Maycomb lady if she keeps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Performance On Immediate Retention Tests Roediger Karpicke (2005) predict that performance on immediate retention tests would rise with the number of study opportunities, due to massed practice usually only producing short term results. They also believe that taking a retention directly after a study session would result in superior retention on delayed tests compared to repeatedly studying the material. This would result in proving that test taking as a better means to improve long term retention compared to re presentation of material during testing. Methods In order to obtain this information on retention two experiments were conducted using psychological testing to collect data (Weiten, 2014). The first was a experimental 2 x 3 factorial design, using one hundred twenty undergraduate students from Washington University, ages 18 to 24 (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The independent variables that were manipulated were the different learning conditions and time between studying and test taking, as well as when the subjects would take the final retention test which occurred either 5 minutes, 2 days, or 1 week after the end of the 1st phase of the experiment (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The dependent variable were how much information could the subjects reten and their performance on the final retention test given in phase 2 of the experiment. Even though there has been substantial research, many questions remain regarding addiction (David Capuzzi, 2008, p. 20). Historically in the later part of the 18th century, the teachings and writings of Benjamin Rush actually precipitated the birth of the American disease concept of alcoholism as an addiction (David Capuzzi, 2008, p. 10). Benjamin Rush; a physician, originally from Philadelphia began to write about inebriety (UnKnown, 2011). He referred to this condition as a disease of the will, resulting in loss of control, and that over drinking behaviour is curable but only through abstinence (David Capuzzi, 2008, p. 10) (UnKnown, 2011). The rationale for this view was that no rational person would deliberately engage in a behaviour that was both anti social and harmful to them. Hence they must be consuming substances against their will, which is unlike normal people. They had no control over their consumption so they had to have a disease (UnKnown, 2011). In 1960 E.M. Singapore s Upcoming 2020 General Elections Essay Introduction In light of Singapore s upcoming 2020 general elections, there are a few changes Singapore s electoral system should embrace to ensure a more effective electoral process and accurate outcomes. A condition for democracy to occur is to have free and fair elections as it depicts popular choice and control over government. The People s Action Party (PAP) has dominated the political playing field since 1965 and this resulted in Singapore being known as a model of soft authoritarianism with limited democracy (Yeo. L.H, 2010). Although Singapore has seen an increase in the number of opposition parties, these parties appear to be ineffective to compete against the PAP. Singapore employs a unique multi party parliamentary system (Wikipedia). The President is the head of state while the Prime Minister is the head of government. Presidential and parliamentary elections follow the First Past The Post (FPTP) system. While it is the simplest form of plurality system, given Singapore s growing multi ethnic population and rising number of opposition parties, this system may not be as effective as before. Hence, this essay will cover how the FPTP system is currently employed in Singapore, and the evaluation of its effectiveness. I helped her train and strengthen her eye muscles with the exercises Dr. Lobe prescribed to her.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
