Gregor In Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis
In Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis Gregor, a young traveling salesman who dutifully leaves
the family apartment early every day for a job he hates so that he can pay off his father s debts.
Gregor is characterized as a bug because for the longest time he has felt nothing but pressure, so
much pressure has been thrown at him that makes it him feel small. This portrays when Gregor
changes into a being that is always alone and helpless, an insect. The first idea that leads to think
Gregor is described as a bug is because Gregor has to step up and take care of his family debt.
Gregor, being a salesman doesn t like his job, yet he continues to do it for the sake of the family.
He often complains Oh God, what a grueling job I ve picked! I ve got the torture of... Show more

Gregor s father is a lazy man who does nothing all day. He lives off the money his son makes for
him because his business has failed which left him exhausted and emotionally broken and
because of that Gregor has to step up and become the breadwinner. Although, Gregor s father is
in good health, he sits around all day reading newspapers in his nightgown while his son labors
at a stressful, dehumanizing job. After Gregor s metamorphosis With a hostile expression his
father clenched his fist, as if to drive Gregor back into his room (Kafka 5). Usually when a child
wants to help their parents through financial trouble they would usually get praised for helping,
stepping up to the plate. However, when Gregor stepped up and got a job, despite its beneficial
effects the father expresses considerable hostility toward Gregor. This gave an even more stress
and causes Gregor to be depressed because, know what matter how much effort Gregor put into
his job in order to help his family he would always get nothing but neglect instead of thanks from
his father. This characterizes Gregor as a bug because he feels trapped by his father s failings just

Nancy Ward s Influence On Cherokee Indians
Nanye hi, or Nancy Ward as she was most common known, was a Cherokee Indian. She was a
very determined and respected women. She was born into a powerful family in the Wolf clan,
who lived in the hills of what today is Eastern Tennessee. Growing up Nancy Ward was greatly
affected by the constant conflict with European settlers and with enemy tribes. This violent
impact influenced the strong willed Nancy Ward to become a significant mediator between the
native tribes and European settlers. This impact also let the the change in customs of the
Cherokee people. Nancy Ward first married Tsu la and had two children. During the Battle of
Taliwa the Cherokees raided the Creeks. Nancy Ward fought by her husband s side. Many
sources say she would chew the lead bullets for his rifle to make them more pointed and deadly
on the enemies. When the Creeks killed Ward s husband she picked up his rifle and led a charge
that brought victory to the Cherokees. Due to her actions during the raid, the Cherokee clans made

Ward voiced her opinion that peace and patience between the Cherokee tribe and settlers was the
only way to guarantee survival. Despite Nancy Ward s wisdom, the people of her tribe strongly
disagreed with her and warned her against the settlers westward expansion. The Cherokee people
wanted to kill the prisoners from the war. As Beloved Woman, Nancy Ward had power over the
fate of prisoners. Nancy Ward immediately left the council and saved Lydia Bean, a prisoner who
some warriors had already tied to a stake to be burned. Bean stayed with Nancy Ward as her guest
until it was safe for her to return home. Bean taught Nancy Ward how to make butter and cheese.
This led Nancy Ward to buy her own cattle and introduce cows into Cherokee s

Government Control Throughout Literary Works
Governmental control surrounds society daily and has been around for centuries. Governments
came around so that they could control others. It recurs throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet by William Shakespeare, as well as in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
Even in modern day, government control remains a significant part of life. For example, the
SOPA bill arose in Congress when the need for anti piracy protection became urgent or the USA
admitting the Yemeni dictator into one of its medical centers. It occurs from the 1500s in The
Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet to the 1800s in The Count of Monte Cristo and even modern day.
Each government designs itself in a way so that it functions with a united purpose to keep the human

Napoleon puts himself into power after he successfully overthrows the king of France. The French
monarchy weakens day by day and thus, the Napoleon Empire quickly establishes itself in the
monarchy s place. Governmental control appears strongly when it just takes Villefort s signature to
throw an innocent person into jail. Dantes realizes this when he thinks: Villefort s change in
demeanour during the examination, the burning of the letter, the exacted oath, the magistrate s
almost supplicating voice which seemed to implore rather than to threaten, all passed through his
mind (Dumas 61). Once Dantes learns of Villefort s treachery, his personality completely turns
around. An innocent man should not be sent to jail because someone else chooses to cover his or
her tracks and fix his or her own problems. Governmental control has become corrupted and no
longer functional. The 1800s style governments opened themselves to conflict; however,
corruption prevailed. Modern day differs greatly compared to previous centuries but the need for
control has continued to live on. Modern day has vastly improved its government over the
previous centuries. However, society still faces issues due to governmental control. A bill called
SOPA tried to limit creativity on the Internet, but classed as an anti piracy bill. The USA formerly
debated on whether to admit a Yemeni dictator, one who has killed thousands of the Yemeni people,
into one of its medical centers.

Mind, Brain By John Searle
John Searle is an American philosopher who was known for creating the thought experiment,
the Chinese room for challenging the idea of strong AI and functionalism. Searle s work, Minds,
Brains and Programs introduces the Chinese room and refutes some objections to the points he
brings up. The Chinese room was created in order to refute the idea of strong AI and the
functionalist theory of mind and is described as follows. Imagine a computer program that can
be told a short story and make inferences about certain details of the story. For example, Kyle ran
into his house after a long day of school...threw his book bag on the floor and plopped onto the
couch. After six hours of playing Grand Larceny VII, he ate some pizza and fell asleep with a

knows no Chinese and cannot even distinguish Chinese from Japanese or any other logographic
language. This first batch of Chinese writing is plain Chinese script. The second and third batch
each come with a set of rules written in English which he can read and understand as well as any
native English speaker. The rules accompanying the second batch, allow him to correlate the
second batch to the first batch and allow him to identity each symbol based on its shape. The
second set of rules (that came with the third batch) allow him to correlate the third batch with the
first and second batch as well as how to write Chinese symbols in response to the Chinese symbols
given in the third batch. Suppose that he becomes extremely proficient at manipulating the Chinese
symbols and the rules he is given become so extensive such that he can respond to any query and
his responses become indistinguishable from a native Chinese

Boo Radley Stereotypes
In our culture we place people in boxes, and attach stereotypes to different types of people. It is
difficult to break free from the conventional ways of our pasts. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee a character defines the way we as a society view stereotypes. Boo Radley is an
important character in To Kill a Mockingbirdyet the only time we have actually witnessed him is
the very last scene of the book. Readers only hear town gossip, and see small kindnesses from
him in the form of trinkets hidden in trees.Boo radley is a symbol for the misconceptions and

American Vs. Russian Space Program
Since the launch of Sputnik 1, Russia and America continually compete against one another in the
exploration of space. The idea of exploring a new frontier intrigued the citizens of both countries.
The race to achieve the first successful launch into space created the institution of two independent
space programs, the Soviet Space Program and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA). Since their origins, the agencies contrasted in mission procedures, construction, and view
of space s applications. Though the two programs ultimately amalgamated to further exploration
and elevate productivity, Russia proves the victor as it dominates the gateway to space. The current

Inside the camouflaged tent, four men stood around a large table. The only illumination coming

intently to the headsets they each wore they would occasionally reach out with thin poles they each

Striding into the tent a young officer glanced over the map, swore and strode back out, barking

Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels
Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels, was a key figure in the establishment of German culture in Texas.
Despite being in Texas for only one year, Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels was able to leave a
lasting legacy of German culture and traditions through the town of New Braunfels.
Early Life
Born on July 27, 1812 to Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Solms Braunfels and Princess Friederike of
Mecklenburg Strelitz, Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Ludwig Georg Alfred Alexander, known as
Prince Carl, was brought up in a wealthy noble family. He was educated as a soldier and
courtier, and was fluent in three different languages. As with most nobles of the time, Prince Carl
had an illustrious family tree and many connections. Because of this, he received important
military assignments and awards. In 1834, he secretly married Luise Auguste Stephanie Beyrich,
a woman of lesser status. This was considered a disgrace and not fit for a prince, so in 1841, he
annulled his marriage to Luise after being pressured to by his family. While serving in the cavalry
of the Austrian Army, Prince Carl stumbled upon G.A. Schrepf s guide to Texasimmigrants, Charles
Sealsfield s novel about Texas, and William Kennedy s Texas: Its Geography, Natural History, and
Topography. This sparked an interest of Texas in the adventurous, charismatic prince.

Piercing the Veil in Taxation Matters
Piercing the veil is one of the most discussed and litigated doctrines in all of corporate law. A
company has a corporate personality distinct from its members. From the juristic point of view, it
is a legal person distinct from its members. This is the principal laid down in Salomon v. Salomon
amp; co. ltd., (1897) A.C. 22].The courts did this to in relation to a one person member company.
The principal is commonly referred as veil of incorporation The courts were bound by these
principals but they realised exceptions to the rule. This happened due to human inventiveness
which started using the veil of corporate personality deliberately for fraud and improper conduct.
The courts started to lift the fictional veil between the company... Show more content on

statutory provisions are as follows: 1. Reduction of membership below statutory minimum
(Section 45): This section provides that if the number of member of a company is reduced
below 7 in the case of public company or below 2 in the case of private company and the
company continues to carry on the business for more than 6 months, while the number is so
reduced, every person who knows this fact and is a member of the company is severally liable
for the debts of the company contracted during that time. 2. Improper use of name (Section 147):

The Performance Of First Milk Ltd
Introduction
First Milk Ltd is an enterprise owned cooperative; it has 1600 members which are all and only
British dairy farmers (First Milk Ltd 2014; Co operative News 2014; Co operative UK 2014).
According to Co operative UK (2014), First Milk Ltd has made a turnover of over ВЈ529 million in
2013. First Milk Ltd is the top earning cooperative in agriculture industry in the 2013 trading year.
In this report, it is going to discuss the structure of the cooperative and its relationship with the
members. It will also demonstrate how First Milk Ltd satisfies the seven cooperative principles and
the reasons behind nominating First Milk Ltd for the Cooperative of the Year award.
Methodology
In this report, secondary sources, both online sources and published materials, will be used to help
illustrate and discuss the performance of First Milk Ltd on satisfying the seven cooperative
principles.
Findings
7 cooperative principles
1.Voluntary and Open Memberships
As a British farmer owned cooperative (First Milk Ltd, 2014), it is suggested that members in
First Milk Ltd have to be dairy farmers in the UK. They accept members who are willing to
contribute to the cooperative by buying its capital investment (First Milk Ltd, 2014). Gender,
social, racial, political or religious limitations are not applying in the cooperative unless the
members are UK dairy farmers (First Milk Ltd, 2014).

Alienation In A Rose For Emily
A Rose for Emily : Death By the Community In A Rose For Emily, William Faulkner portrays how
crippling alienation and slanderous gossip transform Emily Grierson into an unstable necrophile
and murderer. The townspeople regard Miss Emily as a symbol of their dignified past, but become
overcritical and apathetic towards her as events unfold. Even though Miss Emily is highly thought
of, women in the community display little sympathy or compassion after the deathof her father, a
reaction that ultimately negatively impacts her ability to behave within an ordinary civilization.
However, when the townspeople show a blatant disregard for Emily, they fail to recognize that she
is damaged and deranged. They do not consider her feelings in the disastrous life around her, and
even exclaim , ... it would be the best thing if she killed herself (Faulkner). The townspeople
discard her as a lost cause, allowing her to harbor the detrimental feelings she has towards the
loss of her father. Although many may argue that Miss Emily s actions are caused by a mental
disorder, the townspeople s apathy, neglect, and inability to recognize her true feelings are the
real cause of her scandalous actions. In Miss Emily s early life, Miss Emily s father pushes
everybody away from her because of his arrogance. In her father s eyes, nobody is suitable for her
traditional figure that her family upholds. The townspeople believes that the Griersons family sees
themselves as much too important,

Women enjoyed the right to divorce, not the men. And if marriage ended in a divorce, the dowry

Social structure among the Norse wasn t what one could call equal for all. Though class
distinctions were not absolute and fixed, they did separate the masses from those most likely to
succeed. Slaves, or thralls, occupied the lowest rung of the social ladder, although prisoners of
war, bankrupts, and sons and daughters of slaves also inhabited this class, though they may not
have started there. They performed the most manual tasks on their owners farms and could be
bought and sold like any piece of property. Depending on the master, a slave s life was not
always grim, and it was even possible for a slave to work his or her way to freedom. Next in line
were the Karls, or free peasants, who hired out their services to landowners. Also in this class
were artisans, peddlers, fishermen, shipwrights, small time merchants, and mercenary soldiers who

Analysis Of James Joyce s Portrait Of The Artist As A...
In 19th and 20th century Ireland, the Catholic Church dominated the lives of many Irish citizens.
The Church played a role in every aspect of their lives including their personal lives, their political
lives, their education, and their work. Often people followed the Church for fear of what would
happen if they didn t follow. While for many, this control by the Catholic Churchprovided structure
and stability in their lives, for others it was a source of major struggle and inner conflict. James
Joyce found the Catholic Church s power to be both overwhelming and repressive. In his Portrait of

James Joyce s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is commonly considered a reflection of
Joyce s own life and struggles that he faced with and against the Catholic Church. As Stephen
Dedalus does in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Joyce fluctuated between agreeing with
and rejecting the Church. He was raised by Catholic parents and attended Catholic schools
throughout his life. As is common for children before they re able to make their own choices and
think for themselves, Joyce merely followed the religious example that his family and society
had set for him. So why did Joyce ultimately reject the Catholic Church? As researched by Jeffrey
Hibbert, The weakening of the Church s temporal powers was met by tightening its political
control over local churches and its ideological control over dogma. Between the 1830s and the
1890s, the Church grew increasingly conservative and intolerant of liberalism, democracy and
modernity (199). The church wasn t allowing Joyce to express his creativity and become who he
wanted to be. It was becoming increasingly controlling and limited his creative abilities. Joyce s
attitude towards the Catholic Church were structured by the 3 A s: alienation, anger, and apathy
(Lernout 8).
In a letter to his wife that was written in 1904, Joyce claimed to have left the Church six years
earlier, at which time he would have been about 14 years old. In the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Technology
Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology Technology has changed every aspect of our lives,
whether it was for the better or for the worse. It has a positive impact on our lives because it allows
us to connect more with people that are farther away, and it grants us access to information about
anything. Unfortunately, it has changed our lives for the worse, too, it makes us over dependent on
technology, and it leads to a decline in face to face conversations. Technology that is constantly in
our face changes the way we think and carry out our everyday lives. For example, when you are
standing in a room full of people instead of conversing with others you would take out your phone
and engage yourself in this world that you have created. Integrated computers can benefit our daily
lives, because it allows us to resurface old information that was part of the old conversation
allowing a more personal conversation. The downside of this is that it could also resurface old
fights that you might have had. All of these positives or negatives can be seen in Black Mirror,
Her, Our Computers Ourselves, and Crispr Radiolab. The positive impact that technology plays
on our lives is that it allows us to connect with people that are far away from us, whether it be via
email, phone calls, or any form of social media. This is a good thing because generations before us

1. About Rene Descartes Meditations:
a) What is the function of the doubt in Descartes Meditations? What are the different stages of

Descartes function of doubt in Meditations is basically to overthrow skepticism on its own

first stage of doubt is the argument of physical misconception, our senses betray us some of the

with the power of information system coupled with brilliant business practices and supportive
management to achieve a world class operational efficiency. Wal Mart using RetailLink system to
link its suppliers to every Wal Mart s stores worldwide. As soon as customer purchases an item,
the supplier monitoring the item knows to ship a replacement to the shelf. Dirt Bikes does not sell
directly to retail customer, it relying on a network of 40 distributors. A small percentage of Dirt
Bikes is export their motorcycles to Europe with independent distributor that sell other brands of
motorcycles. Dirt bikes is using typical order system, the sales department must works closely with
those Distributors. By using a better order system, it helps dirt bikes enhance its operation
progress, the system will automated receive the order and telling the manager which distributor is
ordering their products. Besides that, the system can auto inform the supplier of Dirt Bikes that the
goods are sold. The supplier will know to ship a replacement for that. This system will reduce the
human power and paper form for the production department of Dirt Bikes. Another example,

Summary Of Brutal Imagination By Cornelius Eadya
Cornelius Eady is a Black American writer who focuses and writes widely on the topics of race
and society. His poetry is usually centered on jazz and blues, violence, home life, family life and
societal problems arising from questions of race and socioeconomics. Eady has written over twelve
books but the most popular include Brutal Imagination, Hardheaded Weather, Don t Miss Your
Water, The Gathering of My Name, and The Autobiography of a Jukebox. From this list, I chose to
explore the content of Brutal Imagination, The Gathering of My Name and Hardheaded Weather.
Brutal Imagination is based on a true story about a mom named Susan Smithfrom Union. South
Carolina. On October 25th, 1994, Smith told police she d been carjacked by a Black man, who
forced her out of her car and drove away with her two young sons still in the back of the vehicle
(Susan Smith Biography.com. 2014). She then blamed the death of her sons on this man but later
she confessed and was convicted of the murder of the boys and was sentenced to life in prison.
This book is made up of two cycles of poems, each confronting the same subject: the
characterization of a black man in white America. In this book, I plan to focus mainly on the first
cycle and touch briefly on the second. The first cycle includes four different sections. In section
one of cycle one, Eady writes about Susan Smith and Charles Stuart, two murderers who blamed
their crimes on nonexistent black attackers. The first poem is called How I Got Born (Eady 5), in
this poem the fictional young African Americanman is conjured up. In the upper right hand corner
of the page, Eady writes a note that explains who and what the speaker is: The speaker is the
young black man Susan Smith claimed kidnapped her children (Eady 5). In the first few lines of
the poem he says, Susan Smith willed me alive/ At the moment/ Her babies sank into the lake (l.
1 40). So right away he gives us a pretty straightforward explanation for what this poem is about
and what this section will be about. In the next few poems, the narrator discusses his existence and
reason for being created. Eady uses a lot of metaphors, similes and imagery in his poems, and he
does a phenomenal job with imagery.

The Dehydration Of 2-Methyl-2-Butanol Was Performed Using
The dehydration of 2 methyl 2 butanol was performed using sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid in
order to synthesize alkene products 2 methyl 1 butene and 2 methyl 2 butene. After carrying out
steam distillation to isolate the organic alkenes from aqueous components within the reaction
mixture, the purity and characterization of the products were then assessed through various
analytical methods including Gas Chromatography (GC), Infrared Radiation (IR) Spectroscopy, and
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Imaging. Through the characterization of the final products, it
was found that little impurities remained in the final reaction solution and according to the GC, no
alcohol remained in the vial after the reaction was complete. The actual yield... Show more content

The products of interest within this experiment are 2 methyl 1 butene and 2 methyl 2 butene
from sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid catalyzed dehydration of 2 methyl 2 butanol. The
reaction mixture was then separated into its separate alkene components by steam distillation
and then analyzed by gas chromatography (GC), Infrared Radiation (IR) spectroscopy, and
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) imaging. Gas chromatography is an analytical technique
that is able to characterize if specific compounds exist in a reaction mixture, even if they are in
low quantities, assess how much of a compound exists within a reaction mixture relative to other
components within the sample, and determine the purity of an isolated product. In the case of
this experiment, gas chromatography is used to analyze how pure the alkene reaction sample
was and if any remnants of impurities or 2 methyl 2 butanol remained in the sample after
isolation of alkene components. Results and Discussion Mass (g) Alcohol (Before dehydration)
2.3478 Alkene (After dehydration)0.6675 0.6675/2.3478 x 100=28.4% Based on prior
calculations, expected yield for the alkene products was 79.5%. The actual yield was not as high,
resulting in a 28.4% yield. Even with this relatively small yield, the reaction still went to
completion as indicated by the GC results in Figure 2. This is known because there is no presence
of 2 methyl 1 butanol within the GC spectra. Only the two desired alkene products with

Transformation Of Escherichia Bacteria And Dna
Transformation of Escherichia coli in different concentrations of Plasmid DNA
Introduction
This report discusses an experiment which students have to transform and plate competent
Escherichia coli in different concentrations of plasmid DNA. This experiment uses four
concentrations of plasmid DNA to perform four transformations. These concentrations are namely,
5 Вµl of distilled water, which acts as the control in this experiment; 2.5 Вµl of undiluted
plasmid DNA; 1.0Вµl of undiluted plasmid DNA; and lastly, 1.0Вµl of plasmid DNA diluted 1 in
10. Transformation is an important aspect in genetic engineering as it allows for a particular DNA
to enter into another cell. The aim of this experiment is to be able to perform a cell transformation

Then, we placed 100 Вµl of the E. coli cells into four Eppendorf tubes each and labelled them A,
B, C and D. After filling them up, we placed them into an ice box. After this, we needed to
perform the transformation process by mixing the E. coli cells with different concentrations of
plasmid DNA. In test tube A, we added 5 Вµl of distilled water to the E. coli cells. In test tube B,
we added 2.5 Вµl of undiluted plasmid DNA to the E. coli cells. In test tube C, we added 1.0 Вµl
of undiluted plasmid DNA to the E. coli cells. Lastly, in test tube D, we added 1.0 Вµl of
plasmid DNA diluted 1 in 10 to the E. coli cells. Then, we used a P100 pipette and mixed all the
liquids in all the Eppendorf tubes by pipetting the solution up and down. Then, we left the
Eppendorf tubes along with its contents in the ice box for twenty minutes. After twenty minutes,
we labelled the base of the four agar plates to match with the appropriate plasmid DNA
concentration about to be plated. We also wrote our initials, the date, and the table number on
the base of the agar plate. We then gently lifted up the cover of the agar plate with just enough
space to allow us to plate each tube of cells onto four different agar plates one agar plate to one
plasmid DNA concentration. We used a spreader to spread the cells evenly over the surface of the
agar, being careful not let the spreader touch

If I had not stayed home and taken care of the issue, his blood pressure could get worse and out

The Harappan Civilization Of Indus River Valley
The Indus River Valley, located in present day Pakistan was a full fledged civilization that emerged
in 3300 B.C.E. The Harappan Civilization, stretching from present day Afghanistan to Pakistan
contained vast amounts of small communities. The society was very technologically advanced and
somewhat modeled the fundamentals of the society we live in today. The Harappan society was
one of the earliest to have a system of writing; however historians have still not interpreted them
today. Nevertheless, the society left us numerous archaeological and architectural ruins that provide
much information. Harappa, an Indus RiverValley that left us no written records, but only some

From the remains that were left by the Harappan society; today archaeologists can understand the
civilization s urban planning. In the last few years, archaeologists discovered major structures that
belonged to the time period of 2600 B.C.E. These structures were made from baked bricks. These
structures gave us clues about the material that was used from the planning of the city. From such
remains, archaeologists were able to learn that house sand streets were laid out in a certain pattern,
which was from North to South and East to West. There were multistoried houses that were found,
giving us information that houses were present in the Harappan Civilization many like the ones
today. There were also parts of

My High School Poem By Alvin Schwartz
the fifth grade is not as fun as they advertise. she said at the beginning we would be doing
science experiments and all that junk, but that stuff has not occurred and the year is almost
over. I was reading scary stories poems by alvin schwartz. It was ten minutes before the bell rang
and the whole room was silent. Normally they would be scurrying for their stuff and
mrs.morgan would be complaining, but this day is different, everybody seems more tranquill I
kept reading my favorite poem over and over, it was in my (at the time) favorite book , called
scary stories treasury by alvin schwartz. the ghost with bloody fingers was my most loved poem in
that book . I hear a slight thud, i look up and everyone was getting their things, it was two minutes

why they replaced mrs.galbreath. I walked outside and felt the cold autumn air on my face. i
never bring a coat (hence why i get sick all the time) i feel better without one. I sat on the huge
lawn in front of the school. I don t have any friends at this school. I can t trust anyone here not
even the one person i grew up knowing. My phone turned on and i got a text from my mom.
Almost there I smiled. My mom is like my best friend, We were inseparable. and we still are to
this very day. I watched and waited as the littler kids got picked up in the little narrow driveway
they had in front of the school. I saw my moms car at the end of the line, i saved her some
headache and walked to the car, she looked nervous, and i knew exactly why. Mom had been
talking about divorcing dad for months now. She attempted it once but dad didn t think she would
go through with it (which she didn t ). So she is trying again tonight, i am just scared where me ,
my mom, and my dog storm are going to end up. Hey mom i said with a positive

The basic demand is the demand for the ultimate product or service from the end user. To meet this
demand of end user, different links in the supply chain need to supply some goods or service to the

previous link.
Logistics refers to all the processes involved in storing, moving, transporting or in any other way

How Does Shakespeare Use Humor In Romeo And Juliet
Meagan Healey Heather Norwood ENG2D1 04 1 June 2016 Life Needs Laughter Romeo and
Juliet is one of the most famous plays written by William Shakespeare. Although the story of
Romeo and Juliet is one that is very tragic, it has some very humorous aspects that are essential to
the development of the plot and of the characters. The humorous characters, the intrigue of the the
jokes and puns and the comic relief after a tragic scene, all play a very significant role. These
elements are the reason that the play, Romeo and Juliet is continued to be read and analyzed today.
Certain characters are seen as insignificant or irrelevant in this tragic play. However, with further
analysis, it is evident that minor characters use humour to develop the plot and the main characters.
Firstly, the Nurse... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Juliet is very anxious about what Romeo said to the Nurse. The Nurse teases her and sais Where
is your mother right before she reveals what Romeo said to her. This releases the tension of the
readers and builds curiosity to intrigue. The comic relief in Romeo and Juliet also drives the plot
of the play. The scenes in this tragedy alternate between serious and humorous modes. This
allows the characters to develop their emotions and to react based on the jokes and puns often
told by the minor characters. Here s such a coil! come, what says Romeo? (2.5.28). Juliet
becomes very frustrated when the Nurse uses comic relief to avoid telling her what Romeo said.
This is often the outcome of comic relief in this play. The frustration of Juliet is very amusing to
the readers and the Nurse s comic relief provides more excitement for Juliet after anticipating the
answer for awhile. The Nurse in Romeo and Juliet creates a very provoking comedy that navigates
the plot. The comic relief in this play is compelling to the readers and adds liveliness to the tragedy

What Is Slow Moving Significant
Slow Moving Significance Sometimes in life a person is very aware when a significant event is
happening i.e. marriage, graduation, parenthood, etc. but sometimes a significant event takes
place and the person does not realize that this event will be very important in shaping their
future. The event I am about to describe fits the latter of the two previous categories. I actually
tried to deny that this event had any impact on my personal development. I did not believe that
the day I received my driver s license I had changed at all. Like most kids I was excited to be
turning sixteen and to be able to take the driving test, but that particular year my church s week to

scientifically research. The approach will examine the relationship between the level of exercise
and personal health, which will illustrate whether the individual s personal health is impacted by
his/her level of exercise or if there are additional variables that might effect this causal relationship.
The significance of the study review the issues and factors, whether increasing an individual`s

Conceptual framework
Independent variable Constant variable Dependent variable
Independent variable: The level of exercise is measured by how much a student s exercise per week
Dependent variable: Is measured by the individual weekly health measurements
Control variable: Is measure by the students degree of food intake, whether healthy food or non
healthy food. Section 2: Univeriate analysis
Independent variable: level of Exercise
A measure of central tendency was computed to summarize the data for the level of exercise. A
measure of dispersion is computed to understand the variability scores of the independent variable.
The following are the results obtained from the data collection sample size = 1238, Mean = 1.99,
Median = 2.00, Mode = 1.00 and SD = 0.889 variable. When looking at the mean, it appears that
most students responded to the variable in the questionnaires. And it shows that distribution is
symmetric since the mean is close to equal the median, which concludes that this variable has a
close to zero skewness.

A Woman s Best Quality Eggs
A woman is at her most fertile when she is in the ages 20 to 24. Infertility is generally defined as
the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sex. At the age of 30 fertility starts to
gradually decline, the chance of successfully conceiving each cycle drops from 22% to just 6 to
8% between 30 and 40 years of age. This big drop in fertility is due to the ageing of a female s
eggs. When born women have around a million eggs, by the time they reach their mid thirties
this number will have dropped to around 25,000. Unfortunately, a woman s best quality eggs
will likely have been used up when younger, meaning the ones left over are of a worse quality
and therefore less fertile. Women also release fewer eggs when they get older. In terms of
successful IVF treatment (which is more often used by older women), for women under 35
years the success rate is around 27%, but for women over 40 years old that drops to as low as
6%. The graph to the left shows the general trend in the drop in fertility, backing up what was
said earlier, and further backed up by Benjamin Younger, the executive director of the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine. He states that fertility continues to decline after the age of 35
but takes a nosedive at the age of 38. Clearly fertility is something to be worried about, and
looking at these stats it is well worth getting pregnant younger in order to have a better chance of
getting pregnant and also having good quality eggs still. Health

Psychological Impact On Public Consciousness
INTRODUCTION
Psychological operations are successfully used to influence the public consciousness, the economy,
and the military operations.
THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS
Nowadays psychological operations are becoming an effective tool in both foreign and domestic
policy. They are widely used in the sphere of international relations to ensure the voluntary
submission of opponents, to promote the activities of supporters, and to maintain a high level of
motivation among allies. One of the most important elements of these actions is the informational
and psychological impact on public consciousness. During the Gulf WarPSYOPS effectively used
to influence on public consciousness of international community and local populations.
Before entering the war against Iraq in 1990, for multinational forces was necessary to explain the
causes of the war to the international community. Multinational forces had to clarify to the world
all reasons like: the restoration of Kuwait s lost independence (in August 1990, Iraqi troops
occupied Kuwait); Protection of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman against
possible aggression by Iraq; Protection of the freedom of global navigation in the Persian Gulf;
Protection of the trampled rights of Kurds and Shiites in Iraq. With using global information
network, it became possible to show the aggressiveness of Iraq and set up world public opinion
against Iraq. At the same time attempts by Iraq to find the support of other countries have

It recurs throughout The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, as well as in The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Even in modern day, government control remains a significant part of life. For example, the SOPA bill arose in Congress when the need for anti piracy protection became urgent or the USA admitting the Yemeni dictator into one of its medical centers. The French monarchy weakens day by day and thus, the Napoleon Empire quickly establishes itself in the monarchy s place. Dantes realizes this when he thinks: Villefort s change in demeanour during the examination, the burning of the letter, the exacted oath, the magistrate s almost supplicating voice which seemed to implore rather than to threaten, all passed through his mind (Dumas 61). Once Dantes learns of Villefort s treachery, his personality completely turns around. An innocent man should not be sent to jail because someone else chooses to cover his or her tracks and fix his or her own problems. Governmental control has become corrupted and no longer functional. The 1800s style governments opened themselves to conflict; however, corruption prevailed. Modern day differs greatly compared to previous centuries but the need for control has continued to live on. Modern day has vastly improved its government over the previous centuries. However, society still faces issues due to governmental control. Even though Miss Emily is highly thought of, women in the community display little sympathy or compassion after the deathof her father, a reaction that ultimately negatively impacts her ability to behave within an ordinary civilization. However, when the townspeople show a blatant disregard for Emily, they fail to recognize that she is damaged and deranged. They do not consider her feelings in the disastrous life around her, and even exclaim , ... it would be the best thing if she killed herself (Faulkner). The townspeople discard her as a lost cause, allowing her to harbor the detrimental feelings she has towards the loss of her father. Although many may argue that Miss Emily s actions are caused by a mental disorder, the townspeople s apathy, neglect, and inability to recognize her true feelings are the real cause of her scandalous actions. Often people followed the Church for fear of what would happen if they didn t follow. While for many, this control by the Catholic Churchprovided structure and stability in their lives, for others it was a source of major struggle and inner conflict. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... James Joyce s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is commonly considered a reflection of Joyce s own life and struggles that he faced with and against the Catholic Church. As Stephen Dedalus does in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Joyce fluctuated between agreeing with and rejecting the Church. He was raised by Catholic parents and attended Catholic schools throughout his life. As is common for children before they re able to make their own choices and think for themselves, Joyce merely followed the religious example that his family and society had set for him. So why did Joyce ultimately reject the Catholic Church? As researched by Jeffrey Hibbert, The weakening of the Church s temporal powers was met by tightening its political control over local churches and its ideological control over dogma. Between the 1830s and the 1890s, the Church grew increasingly conservative and intolerant of liberalism, democracy and modernity (199). The church wasn t allowing Joyce to express his creativity and become who he wanted to be. It was becoming increasingly controlling and limited his creative abilities. Joyce s attitude towards the Catholic Church were structured by the 3 A s: alienation, anger, and apathy (Lernout 8). Technology that is constantly in our face changes the way we think and carry out our everyday lives. For example, when you are standing in a room full of people instead of conversing with others you would take out your phone and engage yourself in this world that you have created. Integrated computers can benefit our daily lives, because it allows us to resurface old information that was part of the old conversation allowing a more personal conversation. The downside of this is that it could also resurface old fights that you might have had. All of these positives or negatives can be seen in Black Mirror, Her, Our Computers Ourselves, and Crispr Radiolab. The positive impact that technology plays on our lives is that it allows us to connect with people that are far away from us, whether it be via email, phone calls, or any form of social media. This is a good thing because generations before us who didn t have the telephone or any other form of communication to talk to relatives far away would live their entire ... What does Descartes find to be ultimately indubitable to constitute the foundation of his new philosophy? Descartes function of doubt in Meditations is basically to overthrow skepticism on its own ground, to begin by doubting everything you know and everything you think you know. The first stage of doubt is the argument of physical misconception, our senses betray us some of the time but possible that it betrays us all of the time. The second stage is knowing if one is dreaming or not, some dreams are so real that its hard to tell if they are indeed real and anything that you see while you are awake can be a dream. The third stage is the evil demon, believing that an evil demon who is powerful enough to deceive you and who is as strong as god but isn t good. God is not something anyone can attest or validate, with that being said he is something one can chose to believe in or not. We imperfect and finite beings visualize the opportunity to be perfect. Descartes wants to prove the idea of god in his mind as an innate idea and ends up proving it using the ontological argument. • 21. Summary Of Brutal Imagination By Cornelius Eadya Cornelius Eady is a Black American writer who focuses and writes widely on the topics of race and society. His poetry is usually centered on jazz and blues, violence, home life, family life and societal problems arising from questions of race and socioeconomics. Eady has written over twelve books but the most popular include Brutal Imagination, Hardheaded Weather, Don t Miss Your Water, The Gathering of My Name, and The Autobiography of a Jukebox. From this list, I chose to explore the content of Brutal Imagination, The Gathering of My Name and Hardheaded Weather. Brutal Imagination is based on a true story about a mom named Susan Smithfrom Union. South Carolina. On October 25th, 1994, Smith told police she d been carjacked by a Black man, who forced her out of her car and drove away with her two young sons still in the back of the vehicle (Susan Smith Biography.com. 2014). She then blamed the death of her sons on this man but later she confessed and was convicted of the murder of the boys and was sentenced to life in prison. This book is made up of two cycles of poems, each confronting the same subject: the characterization of a black man in white America. In this book, I plan to focus mainly on the first cycle and touch briefly on the second. The first cycle includes four different sections. In section one of cycle one, Eady writes about Susan Smith and Charles Stuart, two murderers who blamed their crimes on nonexistent black attackers. The first poem is called How I Got Born (Eady 5), in this poem the fictional young African Americanman is conjured up. In the upper right hand corner of the page, Eady writes a note that explains who and what the speaker is: The speaker is the young black man Susan Smith claimed kidnapped her children (Eady 5). In the first few lines of the poem he says, Susan Smith willed me alive/ At the moment/ Her babies sank into the lake (l. 1 40). So right away he gives us a pretty straightforward explanation for what this poem is about and what this section will be about. In the next few poems, the narrator discusses his existence and reason for being created. Eady uses a lot of metaphors, similes and imagery in his poems, and he does a phenomenal job with imagery. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Dehydration Of 2-Methyl-2-Butanol Was Performed Using The dehydration of 2 methyl 2 butanol was performed using sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid in order to synthesize alkene products 2 methyl 1 butene and 2 methyl 2 butene. After carrying out steam distillation to isolate the organic alkenes from aqueous components within the reaction mixture, the purity and characterization of the products were then assessed through various analytical methods including Gas Chromatography (GC), Infrared Radiation (IR) Spectroscopy, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Imaging. Through the characterization of the final products, it was found that little impurities remained in the final reaction solution and according to the GC, no alcohol remained in the vial after the reaction was complete. The products of interest within this experiment are 2 methyl 1 butene and 2 methyl 2 butene from sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid catalyzed dehydration of 2 methyl 2 butanol. The reaction mixture was then separated into its separate alkene components by steam distillation and then analyzed by gas chromatography (GC), Infrared Radiation (IR) spectroscopy, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) imaging. Gas chromatography is an analytical technique that is able to characterize if specific compounds exist in a reaction mixture, even if they are in low quantities, assess how much of a compound exists within a reaction mixture relative to other components within the sample, and determine the purity of an isolated product. In the case of this experiment, gas chromatography is used to analyze how pure the alkene reaction sample was and if any remnants of impurities or 2 methyl 2 butanol remained in the sample after isolation of alkene components. Results and Discussion Mass (g) Alcohol (Before dehydration) 2.3478 Alkene (After dehydration)0.6675 0.6675/2.3478 x 100=28.4% Based on prior calculations, expected yield for the alkene products was 79.5%. The actual yield was not as high, resulting in a 28.4% yield. Even with this relatively small yield, the reaction still went to completion as indicated by the GC results in Figure 2. • 46. A Woman s Best Quality Eggs A woman is at her most fertile when she is in the ages 20 to 24. Infertility is generally defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sex. At the age of 30 fertility starts to gradually decline, the chance of successfully conceiving each cycle drops from 22% to just 6 to 8% between 30 and 40 years of age. This big drop in fertility is due to the ageing of a female s eggs. When born women have around a million eggs, by the time they reach their mid thirties this number will have dropped to around 25,000. Unfortunately, a woman s best quality eggs will likely have been used up when younger, meaning the ones left over are of a worse quality and therefore less fertile. Women also release fewer eggs when they get older. In terms of successful IVF treatment (which is more often used by older women), for women under 35 years the success rate is around 27%, but for women over 40 years old that drops to as low as 6%. The graph to the left shows the general trend in the drop in fertility, backing up what was said earlier, and further backed up by Benjamin Younger, the executive director of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He states that fertility continues to decline after the age of 35 but takes a nosedive at the age of 38. Clearly fertility is something to be worried about, and looking at these stats it is well worth getting pregnant younger in order to have a better chance of getting pregnant and also having good quality eggs still. THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS Nowadays psychological operations are becoming an effective tool in both foreign and domestic policy. They are widely used in the sphere of international relations to ensure the voluntary submission of opponents, to promote the activities of supporters, and to maintain a high level of motivation among allies. One of the most important elements of these actions is the informational and psychological impact on public consciousness. During the Gulf WarPSYOPS effectively used to influence on public consciousness of international community and local populations. Before entering the war against Iraq in 1990, for multinational forces was necessary to explain the causes of the war to the international community. Multinational forces had to clarify to the world all reasons like: the restoration of Kuwait s lost independence (in August 1990, Iraqi troops occupied Kuwait); Protection of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman against possible aggression by Iraq; Protection of the freedom of global navigation in the Persian Gulf; Protection of the trampled rights of Kurds and Shiites in Iraq.
