Red October Case Study
Sleek and modern are just two of the words that the Soviet leadership would use to describe Red
October, the submarine that the Soviet Navy has been looking forward to owning for years.
Furthermore, it is something that Soviet Navy Captain, First Rank Marko Ramius has been looking
forward to commanding for years, albeit for a different reason: he intends to use it as the vehicle of his
defection. Therefore, I predict that the Russians will go to any extreme necessary: deploying their
entire navy, even conducting special black operations against the U.S., to get or destroy Red October.
With the Soviet government and military now aware of Marko s intent, the largest search in modern
naval history commences. Thus it goes without saying: the Soviets ... Show more content on

Dallas have reported that no less than twenty eight attack submarines have been suddenly and
mysteriously deployed, it seems, to the North Atlantic. In addition, other satellites report that the
Soviets newest missile cruisers, destroyers, and frigates are currently in or heading towards the
Norwegian Sea, the entrance of the North Atlantic from the Arctic Ocean. Finally, the National
Security Agency (NSA) has intercepted multiple HF/VHF (high/very high frequency) messages,
indicative of military communications. Upon deciphering them, the analysts find out that the Russian
high command has issued a mysterious order deploying all warships and attack submarines in the
Arctic, Baltic, and Mediterranean fleets, and recalling all strategic missile submarines back to base.
Even the Americans, who are clueless about Ramius intent, can very clearly tell that something has
gone wrong for the Soviets, big time. Conversely, the Soviets understand the threat to its full extent. If
Red October falls, there is the loss of equipment and computers on board, plus the loss of the
submarine itself, as previously

Orthodox Jewish Culture
Jewish culture is a specific set of customs, morals, and traditions of the Jewish people starting as far
back as four thousand years ago when Israel and Palestinian territories were still known as Canaan.
Jewish culture is able to fulfill a large majority of people s cultural ideals through their religious
beliefs, praying rituals, views on marriage and family, and their holidays celebrations, therefore
making it acceptable to say that the culture is going to attract a numerous amount of followers for
many years to come. A Jew is member of the people and cultural community whose traditional
religion is Judaism. In order to be considered a Jew, the mother of the newborn child must be a Jew or,

Judaism follows the Ten Fundamental Principles which was derived from the Torah. The Torah is the
central reference of Judaism. The Jew s Torah is essentially the Christian s Bible. Although Judaism is
the main religion, it branches off into three denominations. These denominations include: orthodox,
conservative, and reform Judaism. Orthodox Judaism is then divided into modern orthodox and ultra
orthodox Judaism. Because Jews are often offended by the term ultra orthodox, they refer to
themselves as Haredi. An orthodox Jew is a person who follows the principles and practices of
traditional Judaism strictly. Modern orthodox Judaism is a orthodox practice that synthesizes Jewish
values and laws with the modern world, while an ultra orthodox, or Haredi Jew, distances themselves
from modern culture. Compared to orthodox Jews, conservative Jews adhere by the principles and
practices of traditional Judaism but allow some departure. Similar to orthodox Jews, conservative
Judaism once broke off into a branch called reconstructional Judaism. A reconstructionist Jew
followed the modern american movement that viewed Judaism as a progressively evolving civilization
rather than a religion during the late 1920s until the 1940s. This movement was based on the ideas of
Mordecai Kaplan, a rabbi, an essayist, and a Jewish educator. The final denomination is reform
Judaism. Reform Judaism is also known as liberal or progressive Judaism. Reform Judaism is the
abandonment of orthodox Jew aspects in order to adjust to modern changes in political, social, and
cultural life. Although the main goal of reform Judaism is to adjust to modern changes, the
denomination stills follows the moral lessons of the Torah. Because there are denominations that fit to
everybody s needs, it can be assumed that more people will convert to Judaism based on their desire to

Songlyrics In The Figurative Language In Literature
Figurative language in the world of literature is language that uses words or expressions with a deep
meaning that is different from the normal meaning of words and expressions. In the world of literature
many writers and poets use figurative language to grab their audience attention. Figurative language is
very common in poetry, lyrics, nonfiction writing and prose pieces. In this particular essay I would be
discussing and analyzing different songlyrics that contain figures of speech and how effective these
different figures of speech make the songs popular. In the figurative language we have different
figures of speech. A figure of speech is a word or phrase that has different meaning than the actual
meaning is a way writers used to exaggerate feelings and emotions. There are several figures of
speech such as a hyperbole, personification, metaphor, simile and onomatopoeia. Each of these figures
of speech all have different functions they play in the world of writing. Figures of speech are not used
to exaggerate language, but to also cause a moment of excitement and intensity when reading. The
majority of these figures of speech provide the writing with a more concise and clarifications of what
the author, singer, writer or poet is trying to share with their particular audience. For instance, let s
take a look at several songs that contain figures of speech. For example in the song Mean by Taylor
Swift is singing about how someone s words could be painful and

The Arab Ba ath Movement and The Rise of the Baath Party...
Contrary to popular beliefs, civil activism and civil society has managed to thrive in the Middle East.
Social movements on a variety of topics have occurred despite the lack of democracy and democratic
institutions in certain countries. One popular movement was the Arab Ba ath Movement which
eventually led to the formation of the Baath Party. By analyzing the movement s history, ideological
stance, goals, the actors, dissenters, and international aspect, one can determine how and why the
movement flourished in Syria.
Syria was granted de jure independence from the French in 1941. However, the country was not truly
independent until 1946. For the next twenty five years, the country would be launched into extreme
political instability and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were attracted to the idea of equality on the basis of being an Arab and the promise of social
reform, something that was desperately needed in the countryside. Additionally, the nationalist ideals
the Baath promoted would neither exclude nor destroy the middle class and the positions they held
(Galvani 4). The Baath also had a base in the military. Therefore, they were able to help members of
rural communities join and gain prestige in the military.
The Baath Party had two goals: to unite the Middle East into one Arab nation and to create a new set
of political elites completely comprised of the rural, lower class to replace the tradition urban elites
(Antoun and Quataert 33). They wanted to reverse the effects caused by imperialist intervention and
the agrarian crisis in the 1950s. Therefore, when they took power, transformation a reformation from
the top down occurred. The new regime took a more revolutionary turn and incorporated extreme
leftist elements such as the idea of a one party system. It also had the state play a major role in
national development, social welfare services, labor rights, regulation of private business in the
national interest, and agrarian reform (Hinnebusch 680).
What made the Baath Movement so successful was its ability to bring together various classes of
society that divided Syria. It did this by promoting movements that were aligned

How Did James Montgomery Change The Idea Of Grief
Since the early sixteenth century, elegies and grief themed poems have developed substantially.
William Lisle Bowles Time and Grief and James Montgomery s A Poor Wayfaring Man Of Grief from
the Augustan Era, Paul Laurence Dunbar s Love and Grief and George Meredith s The Lesson Of
Grief from the Victorian Era and Charles Bukowski s Consummation of Grief and Thomas Hardy s
How Great My Grief from the Modern Era have changed the idea of grief from something that was
feared into something that is better understood. As the length of the poems began to decrease, the tone
of the poems became less depressing and more insightful, and historical eras and expectations,

The length of a poem specifically, can convey the overall thoughts of the poet. In James Montgomery
s A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief from the Augustan Age, had a very long and descriptive structure
which exaggerated the story within the poem as well as the theme it portrayed. He was, Stripped,
wounded, beaten nigh to death (Montgomery Line 33). James Montgomery turned grief into
something that was emotionally slow and agonizing with all the details he used to allude to Jesus
suffering. In George Meredith s The Lesson of Grief , had shorter, simpler lines that were used to
explain grief furthermore. When I had shed my glad year s leaf,/ I did believe I stood alone,/ Till that
great company of Grief/ Taught me to know this craving heart For not my own (Meredith 6 10).
George Meredith used shorter lines to get his idea straight across and show that grief is not only
something that is painful but also becomes a part of who you are as a person. In Charles Bukowski s
Consummation of Grief , the structure of the poem consisted of many short lines that are all separate
and aren t part of any stanzas. I listen to the water/ on nights I drink away/ and the sadness becomes so

Gender Inequalities And Globalization In Soccer
Gender Inequalities, and Globalization in Soccer Soccer is a sport that many know and love. It has
been globalized through the ages, and has brought many people enjoyment by watching, and playing
the sport. While soccer has brought many people from around the world together, it has also driven a
wedge between males and females in society. This sport is controversial for many reasons. It brings
about controversy because of the fact that some people can clearly identify the separation of equitable
treatment between the genders, while others are oblivious to this idea. Many people from around the
world have joined in on this topic. This not only shows the connection of globalization to the gender

Even though soccer was being played thousands of years ago, the sport didn t experience mass
expansion until it reached England. While the sport was still in early development, rules were not truly
implemented which brought about some violent behaviors between the players, ultimately resulting in
the sport being banned by the king at the time, King Edward III. This ban was set into place around
the year of 1365. This ban was introduced to Scotland a few decades later. Around the year of 1424,
Scotland s King James I decided that no man will be allowed to play football ( football is how many
foreign countries have named soccer).
For centuries, the activity of the sport seemed to become lost, but there was a resurgence of the sport
around the year of 1815, This is where many of the modern rules that are set in place today came into
focus. A couple of college universities brought forth a system of rules for the sport which were known
as the Cambridge Rules, the original official set of rules for the game. The game had been created with
two versions, one in which later became known as rugby, while the other kept the traditional soccer
style that many have come to love and enjoy. There was no concrete foundation of soccer until about
the year of 1869 when the Football Association banned any type of ball handling with the hands. This
is the first look at globalization. British sailors, soldiers,

The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay
The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate
Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife,
Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that
led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is
trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and
symbolism. With respect to word choice, Chopin foreshadows the idea that it was possible that Mrs.
Mallard s husband was not dead at all. From the start she describes the news as possible (79). To
further show this, she chooses to use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is comfortable and roomy (79). These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is
going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so
comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as
being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out
of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had
to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This
feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for
her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the
phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of
Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison
she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free
(80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at
this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In
resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two
white slender hands would have been (80).

Symbolism In Their Eyes Were Watching God
Use of Symbolism in Their Eyes Were Watching God
Throughout the novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, objects and symbols recur. Zora Neale Hurston
s writing is full of metaphors that illustrate the complex concepts that are significant in the novel.
Hurston s compelling use of these symbols help clarify the deeper meaning of Janie s travels,
thoughts, and experiences. The author s tells the story by using copious amounts of symbols, some of
which are Janie s hair, the pear tree, and the horizon. The symbol of Janie s hair is a strong recurring
symbol that gives off many impressions. Janie s hair has strong effect on almost every character

The horizon is closely related to the symbol of hopes and dreams. The horizon represents better things
the possibility for change and improvement. The horizon is mentioned in the opening page of the
novel. Ships at a distance have every man s wish on board. For some they come in with the tide. For
others they sail forever on the horizon, never out of sight, never landing until the watcher turns his
eyes away in resignation, his dreams mocked to death by Time (1). The author compares the hopes
and dreams of man to a ship on a sea. The ships that come in with the tide are ended dreams and the
ships that stay sailing on the horizon are the ones that are still believed in. That is, until the dreamer
realizes their dreams and leave, being mocked by the time they had wasted. Janie s dream sails on the
horizon for most of her life. She can wish and hope for better things but the reality she lives in is very
different. At the end of the novel, Janie realizes her dream. Her wish is to come in with the tide. So
Hurston writes that Janie pulled in her horizon like a great fishnet (193). The author includes this
quote to show that Janie had realized her dream. She pulled it from the ocean to stop it from sailing
any further. The horizon is Janie s place for dreams, as seen throughout the

Emily Grierson Illness
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, Miss Emily Grierson

Criticism Of The Media In Gone Girl And The Braindead...
Are politicians or even newscasters trustworthy enough to present newsworthy material? Whether it s
about politics, an investigation, or a criminal trial, a person must critically analyze the information that
s being laid out in front of them before they should make any form of judgment based off what is
presented. Criticism of the media is an important aspect of Gone Girl and The Braindead Megaphone.
In both literary works, media is represented or described as subjective and storytelling pursuant which
can end up being dangerous in some situations, and is prevalent in the real worlds postmodern
broadcasting.

Later in the book, Nick talks about his feelings and thoughts about Amy (Flynn 302 303). The public
may view it as true even though there isn t any actual evidence of Nick s feelings about her (Flynn 302
303). These things aren t easy to physically prove so the public would have to take Nicks word if they
decide to believe him and see the situation from his viewpoint. In other words, he s able to
subjectively manipulate the situation to better his circumstances. The possible outcome of this
information being reported isn t necessarily destructive, even though it s psychologically manipulating
material. The presentation of this information would mainly have an effect as to how the public may
perceive Nick. Another characteristic of media that is portrayed in Gone Girl and described in The
Braindead Megaphone is Storytelling. George Saunders defines storytelling as the idea that we shape
or build our knowledge of a subject based off a simulacrum or representation of it that is provided by
the mass media (9). In The Braindead Megaphone, the individual with the megaphone (anybody
communicating to the outside world) becomes a storyteller/simulacra builder for the happening (9).

Persuasive Essay On Saving For Retirement
When you are young you always hear people saying it is never too early to start saving for retirement,
but at that age the last thing you want to do is put your money towards ending the career you are just
trying to start. It is hard to imagine a time where you won t have to go to work on a daily basis, to
make a wage, in order to pay your bills, but the ultimate goal is getting to that time in your life where
you don t have to go to work and the bills are already taken care of. The hope for everyone is that the
bills are taken care of and you are able to focus on leisurely things you did not have an opportunity for
while employed. What we fail to realize is that the longer we wait to save the more we have to be
concerned with the pressure of time running out and not enough money saved. Not to mention the
sooner you start saving the more time you give your money to grow.
Let s be honest, we simply can never have enough money, so when you are planning for a time where
you have no income you must prepare accordingly. Many Americans are under the false impression
that when they retire Social Security will cover their living expenses, but the reality is that the average
Social Security benefit is $1180.80 per month. With the federal minimum wage being $7.25, a Social
Security check is nearly equivalent to a minimum wage job, which is hardly a livable income for most
people. The average wage needed for a two bedroom apartment throughout our country is $20.30, so

Ginneken et al. (2010:1115) explains that CHWs were located in health clinics full time and were no
longer flexible community based workers. Their responsibility to the community changed for the
worse. Many CHWs started resenting unpaid requests from fellow villagers. The government now has
this huge thing, they ve got this small business programme, the pay roll. And the village health
workers, if the pay doesn t come out, they toy toy , they don t go to work (Ginneken et al. 2010:1115).
Introducing this stipend caused CHWs to reject volunteer work.
A CHW Framework has been established by South Africa to guide the development of a national
CHW programme. This Framework has failed to recognize diversity, needs and flexibility, and this has
cause to say the aim is invalid. The current potential professionalisation of CHWs makes the ideal
bridging gap between the community and the health system more distant. Once the diversity, needs of
people, and the flexibility within the CHW programme s are recognised, the gap between the
community and the health system will be inexistent (Ginneken et al. 2010:1116).

The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol
The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form
alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is
produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological
process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is
glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when
yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different
types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different
fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a
vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in.
The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their
products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments
to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol
being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was
hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25
degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in

of flood traditions in both the Hebrew tradition and the Mesopotamian tradition. [4: W. G. Lambert, ?

K.A. Kitchen names nine differences and seven similarities in the two traditions. The two narratives
claim that the decision to send the flood as punishment was divine (made by deity); a chosen person
(man) is instructed to save himself and his family, together with living animals and to do this he is
asked to build an ark (boat); the flood destroys everyone else on the earth. The boat eventually rests on
a mountain and the birds are sent out off the boat to see if there is any land that is habitable. The
chosen man eventually sacrifices to the divine and humanity is renewed on the earth.[footnoteRef:7]
For Kitchen, the differences are that in the Genesis narrative, deity (God) observes the wickedness that
was done by the humans on the earth

Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Background
The Report presents a hybrid neural network solution, which compares favorably with other methods
and recognizes a person within a large database of faces. These neural systems typically return a list of
most likely people in the database. Often only one image is available per person. First a database is
created, which contains images of various persons. In the next stage, the available images are trained
and stored in the database. Finally it classifies the authorized person s face, which is used in security
monitoring system. Faces represent complex, multidimensional, meaningful visual stimuli and
developing a computational model for face recognition is difficult. Face has certain distinguishable
landmarks that are the peaks and valleys that sum up the different facial features. There are about 80
peaks and valleys on a human face. The following are a few of the peaks and valleys that are measured
by the software:
*Distance between eyes
*Width of nose

home and happy disposition , a sentence that I immediately associated with the snobbish societies that
were common in that period. That s why I wasn t looking forward to reading the rest of the story. And
my presumption was met in the first chapter where she only seemed to care about herself. She seemed
to be a classic example of a menefreghista as we say in Italian, that means that she is a person with an
uncaring or couldn t care less attitude.
I was really surprised when things took a turn real quick and it wasn t just a story about a spoilt, rich
girl, with rich girls problems anymore. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is important in the story because he serves as a model of good sense and is the only one who
openly critices Emma and points out all her flaws and foibles. Not because he is bitter or enjoys
making people feel down, but out of genuine concern and care for her. He therefor is my favorite
character. His unfailing honesty is tempered with tact and kindheartedness.
He has had some lapses of judgment and self control, but they were only caused by his uncontrollable
love for Emma. He immediately makes clear that he doesn t like Frank and everyone knows Knightley
just feels jealous and does not welcome the new rival. This jealousy causes Knightley to behave very
uncharacteristicly impulsive; he escapes to London to declare his love to Emma. This loss of control
just makes clear that he is just a normal human being with feelings.
Frank is the typical smooth bad boy, girls like so much. He epitomizes attractiveness in speech,
manner, and appearance. A lot of people don t trust him, but everyone except Knightley is charmed
enough to indulge him. He really seems to be the manly version of Emma, that s probably why they

Diabetic Macular Edema
Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that can cause damage to many end organs, including the eye if
it is not controlled.1 Diabetic macular edema is one of the many complications that can occur from
Diabetes Mellitus. It defined as swelling or thickening of the eye s macula, which results from blood
vessels in the retina leaking fluids.2 The retina and macula work together to allow for sharp central
vision.1 When individuals with Diabetes Mellitus have poorly controlled hyperglycemia, the blood
vessels in the eye are weakened and can leak fluid.1 As a result, fluid is able to permeate into the
retina and macula making these areas swell, which ultimately results in loss of vision.1 A consequence
of diabetic macular edema involves the activation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, at the final follow up at 12 months, the authors mentioned that BCVA improved more in the
bevacizumab group versus the triamcinolone group. This may be linked to drug induced mechanisms
within the inflammatory versus the angiogenic cascade.6 Although the results from this trial also
concluded that the use of bevacizumab for DME was statistically significant, there were some
weaknesses. This trial only included a small sample size of participants from Europe between the ages
of 59 ±11 years old, and did not provide information on race or ethnicity of the participants, which
limits external validity. In addition, authors mentioned that because of the flexible PRN regimen after
12 weeks of treatment, macular edema periodically reoccurred and regular treatment was required in
both groups to sustain the beneficial

Pros And Cons Of Bonded Labor
INTRODUCTION
Bonded labor is defined as the labor when work by the labor is demanded back in return as repayment
of debt. It is also known as debt bondage which mean bondage till debt is paid. The advance cash
taken is known as Peshgi . This is a modern type of slavery that enslaves millions of men, women and
children each year across the world including Pakistan. The labor is trapped into working for very
long hours with little or no pay, in order to pay back their debt.
Such labors, held in bondage includes men, women, children and usually whole families, and are
mostly employed in industries such as agriculture, brick kilns, fisheries, carpet weaving industries,
shoe making, refuse sorting, power looms and stone/brick crushing. The majority of bonded labors in
Pakistan belong to some excluded groups and minorities.
According to the international Law a bonded labor in encountered with many internationally

multi dimensional strategy is the solution to bonded labor s eradication. The plan focusing on all
aspects of bonded labor simultaneously. Such as lack of education, social disparity, lack of micro
finance, poverty, multiple scheme for workers and capacity building of government organizations,
rehabilitation of workers and their families, their training and education programs (formal and

Cleopatra s Last Ptolemaic Ruler
She was the one who captured two of the greatest Romans of her day, and completely destroyed
herself because of the third. Cleopatra was born in Alexandria, Egypt in the year of 69 B.C. into the
Ptolemaic dynasty. When she stepped up to become ruler alongside her brothers. Together, they
controlled the whole eastern Mediterranean Coast. She ruled for twenty two years, and in that time she
made enemies and also got many Roman men with her imperial ambitions and motives. At the same
time though, the dynasty was quickly diminishing. Although she was the last Ptolemaic ruler, she was
one of the Egyptians most influential and remembered rulers. As a ruler, she was mostly described as
ruthless, yet intelligent, educated and wise. During her time, she also was lovers with Mark Antony,
Julius Caesar and many other men. Her full story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her life was dominated by men,who also defined her life. As an overview of her life, it was described
as A life of disappointments. One of her main goals, was to just preserve her own personal power.
Cleopatra s military could never succeed in beating Rome s military, and Roman senators were Egypts
greatest threat. The people that she ruled, always had a fear that she was secretly pro roman, due to her
relations with many Roman men. One of her relationships with a Roman man, Mark Antony, was seen
very negatively. Together they were described as not particularly likeable or successful. This really
showed at the Battle of Actium, when Octavian s forces defeated those of Antony and Cleopatra. Later
on, Cleopatra faked her death, which resulted in the death of Mark Antony out of grief. It turned out
that Cleopatra never actually killed herself, and even after that whole situation she tried to claim more
Roman men, but failed. Soon, herself and two of her most trusted servants all committed suicide to
avoid being captured by

Review Of Who Moved My Cheese
Who Moved My Cheese is about how to make changes in your life and work. The story has four
characters Hem and Haw, who are human. And Sniff and Scurry, who are mice. They are metaphors
for different parts of your life. They all have a task in hand, to find cheese. Cheese is a person s life
goals. In the maze, or a person s environment is where they need to seek cheese.
Both the mice and the humans pair off. They all need to find cheese, which is success. The humans
and the mice find cheese. The humans act like their in charge and decide who they will consume the
cheese. The mice return to the station with cheese, but there isn t any left. They aren t shocked by
what they find.
I feel like it s another metaphor, people trying to find achievement any cost. They will do whatever it
takes to be on top. So they step on people and don t care about the outcome. It s them above everyone
else. Eventually all of the cheese is gone. And when the mice find out, they leave and go on to the next
station. They knew this would be the outcome. It s like every man for himself. The humans are
angered by the absence of the cheese. Hem and Haw are ill equipped because they depended on the
cheese for support. This is a metaphor for working and eventually being fired from your job. You have
taken it for granted and have become unprofessional, so you re let go.
One human, haw thinks of looking for new start. He was suggesting moving on from this step back
and starting a new life. But Hem is

The Effects Of Extracurricular Activities On College Students
As kids get into high school, most parents hope that their kids will join some kind of club or team. A
question parents might ask is, How involved should kids be in extracurricular activities or should they
even be involved at all? Extracurricular activities can be both advantageous and unpromising
depending on what the student plans on participating in and also how many activities the student plans
participating in. Many studies have been conducted trying to find the answer to those questions. One
great thing that comes along with extracurricular activities is that it looks great on college
applications. They won t know if you spend hours upon hours playing video games; they will certainly
notice a lack of notable activities on your college application (Extracurricular Activity). When
admissions offices for colleges are looking at students applications for their school, the first thing they
look at to determine if they even meet the requirements to get into that school is their grades. The next
criteria is the amount of work or activities the applicant is involved in outside of the classroom. If two
people have the same GPA and the same academic test scores, the admissions office will look at the
extracurricular activities that both of the students have participated in. The student that has done more
outside of the classroom will most likely be accepted over the student he/she was competing against.

The Outcomes Of The Past Elections
The outcomes of the past elections in Indonesia clearly show how promiscuous power sharing has led
to the current challenges to Indonesia s democratization. The election outcomes of 2004, 2009, and
2014 have proved that party cartelization among the political parties has continued to predominate in
Indonesian politics. The 2004 elections marked the beginning of direct presidential and parliamentary
elections. Yudhoyono was able to win the 2004 presidency due to PDI P s plummeting vote share and
voter dealignment as all five major parties vote share have dramatically shrunk compared to the 1999
election (Slater 85). The dramatic decrease of vote share and serious voter dealignment issue were due
to party cartelization of major parties followed by severe political corruption among the political elites
in the PDI P Golkar coalition. This helped Yudhoyono and his party, PD, to gain popularity from the
voters and win seats in the DPR. The PD under the leadership of Yudhoyono was able to defeat PDI P
s Megawati in a landslide victory ( Unbuilding Blocs 311). After Yudhoyono won his presidency,
promiscuous power sharing continued as he launched his United Indonesia Cabinet (Honna 479),
which included almost all major parties including PKS that promoted anti corruption ideals by
criticizing Megawati s all encompassing coalition during her presidency ( Unbuilding Blocs 311). This
coalition disappointed PD leadership as Yudhoyono gave only one ministerial position to the party

Afghanistan War Research Paper
The war in Afghanistan has a complex history that goes back decades before the start of the fighting.
The conflict started in 1978 when the Peoples Party came to power in Afghanistan, they ruled over the
people with an iron fist. The Mujahideen stood up to the government and the Sour Revolution began.
When the Soviet Union entered into Afghanistan to support the government we became afraid that
communism would take over the country, and we sent supplies to the Mujahideen to aid them in their
fight. The United States was fighting a proxy war with the Soviet Union, meaning that we were not
fighting their troops with ours, but were aiding opposite sides of an existing fight. The Soviet Union
left Afghanistan in 1988 and 1989, and the warlords that were part of the Mujahideen take over and

Pricing is one of the key functions of the finance as well a marketing department of any company

During the initial years of e commerce, many predicted that the internet would lead to a frictionless
economy with lower search costs and availability of better information over the internet. Generally
people feel that if a product is purchased online, they would be in a position to take advantage of the
fixed price displayed online which would in most cases be lower than the retail prices in the customer
s country. However, the headline price displayed is not always depict the full cost of purchasing that
product as the hidden costs are not mentioned. Hidden costs may be shipping charges (postage and
packing), tax liable on purchase.
Several efforts have been made to standardize the way prices are display and online shopping websites
have been very helpful in providing comprehensive details about the cost of products sold online.
Inspite of such efforts made, there are still some unresolved issues concerning the local taxes which
differ from country to country.
Ethnocentric pricing policy
According to this pricing policy the prices are set uniform across the world and the importer absorbs
fright and import duties. This is the simplest of all as no knowledge of the competitors prices and
market is required but the disadvantage of such pricing policy is pricing does not respond to the
market conditions of each national market thus it does not help to maximize the company s

Retention In Healthcare
Recruitment, Selection, and Retention The amount of Healthcare employees in the United states is
expected to continue to change dramatically in the upcoming years. The generation known as the Baby
Boomers are retired or heading towards retirement. The first set in this generation was born in 1946
and became entitled in 2008 for retirement which lead to a 11 percent decrease in the workforce. This
decrease lead to an inadequate supply of replacement workers to fill the gaps so in 2015 twenty
percent of the labor force was aged 55 and older (Valerie Dreachslin, 2007). This change has caused
healthcare organizations to adopt changes that promote recruitment, selection, and retention.
Recruitment refers to how an organization attracts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An initial step in the process is finding where qualified applicants are located also known as applicant
sourcing. An organization must decide if they want to recruit employees internally or externally.
Internal recruitment can be beneficial because candidates are generally known by the organization and
it may also build morale because it shows that there are always opportunities for advancement but it
could also lead to the Peter principle which happens when successful employees continue to be
promoted until they reach a position above their level of competence. Internal recruitment also may
cause a ripple effect to occur when one person moves up the ladder it leaves another vacancy, that is
then filled by another internal employee that in turn causes another vacancy. An advantage of external
recruitment is that the new employee might bring new ideas to the organization and they can target
applicants with the skills needed then settling for a internal employee who may lack some of the skills.
On another note, external recruitment can be negative because it is costlier to hire a new employee,
conduct a drug screen, provide training, and it also takes a new employee more time to get to know the
organization. Recruitment is followed by selecting the right person from the applicants known as
selection. Selection is a tricky task. They must carefully decide which applicant will have the most
likely chance of success. The organization strives to

Fire Equipment Operator Report
The sound of a q siren has been my favorite noise ever since I can remember. My dream of becoming
a firefighter came true in 2005 when I was hired at the Bloomington, MN Fire Department. Over the
last 11 years, I have attended multiple classes which include Emergency Medical Technician, Fire
Equipment Operator and Hazardous Materials Technician. None of these extra classes focused on
managerial development but in 2015, after an intense hiring process, I was promoted to the position of
Captain. In this position, I am a first line supervisor and responsible for 25 firefighters that work with
out of my station. Malcolm Gladwell s The 10,000 Hour Rule states you will be successful in
something if you apply 10,000 hours towards it and in my experience and opinion, Gladwell s theory
is misleading.
In Gladwell s The 10,000 Hour Rule theory, he uses The Beetles and Bill Joy as examples of how they
have practiced something for 10,000 hours and have become masters and ultimately extremely
successful. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

performance. (Princeton University, 2014) From my own experiences, and from additional research, I
don t agree with Gladwell s theories that he outlines in the first and second chapters of Outliers as
much as I believe it has to do with opportunities that arise and resources that you have available. The
one thing I can say for certain is that if it was up to Gladwell I would be a master at his theories with

Commentary On Date Rape
I found this play difficult to read. The overall tone of the piece was tinged with sadness. As I read, I
would have to occasionally put it down to keep from crying. I m not exactly sure why this piece
affected me so emotionally, but I feel that an emotional response to artwork is pretty significant. As I
felt like crying, I was surprised by the section which talks about whiteness and a prescriptive notion
that people shouldn t be emotional. The lady in blue states ...yes let s go on and be white...let s think
our way out of feeling (shange 54). This was interesting commentary on the way in which dominant
culture undervalues the body and emotions. Certainly all people have the capacity to be emotional and

It was violent and in many ways another sort of bodily invasion. First the speaker must endure the
brutality and humiliation of rape, and then she must endure the pain and danger of this medical
procedure. This brought me back to Rich s Compulsory heterosexuality and her complication of
consent and choice. I would very firmly argue that abortion should be an option for women, but I
wonder how this procedure can be free from coercion within a violent patriarchal rape culture. I also
found that the mixture of experiences this play portrays is very important. These women can share
certain aspects of their experience, but they are far from the same. I found the lady in blue s story
especially impactful. She is a clear embodiment of the way in which trauma and tragedy can make one
feel that they must be cold and distant to survive and avoid further brutality. She argues that nice is
such a rip off and I can certainly see her point (shange 53). The way in which that bitterness is used
against each of the characters is also beautifully written and incredibly

Be Nobody s Darling Self Identity Essay
The poems Be Nobody s Darling by Alice Walker and Williams Ernest Henley s Invictus cover the
same main topic of self identity, but each portrays self identity in a different way. In Be Nobody s
Darling , the narrator is telling the reader to go against society, to be an outcast , or to not follow the
crowd, but to go in the opposite direction. The narrator says to take the contradictions of your life, and
wrap around you like a shawl which is saying to turn bad scenarios into good ones. The main meaning
for this poem in my opinion is to show that the reader doesn t have to follow the trends, and if they
don t that isn t bad. In the poem Invictus self identity is shown as a determined individual who won t

  • 2. Red October Case Study Sleek and modern are just two of the words that the Soviet leadership would use to describe Red October, the submarine that the Soviet Navy has been looking forward to owning for years. Furthermore, it is something that Soviet Navy Captain, First Rank Marko Ramius has been looking forward to commanding for years, albeit for a different reason: he intends to use it as the vehicle of his defection. Therefore, I predict that the Russians will go to any extreme necessary: deploying their entire navy, even conducting special black operations against the U.S., to get or destroy Red October. With the Soviet government and military now aware of Marko s intent, the largest search in modern naval history commences. Thus it goes without saying: the Soviets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dallas have reported that no less than twenty eight attack submarines have been suddenly and mysteriously deployed, it seems, to the North Atlantic. In addition, other satellites report that the Soviets newest missile cruisers, destroyers, and frigates are currently in or heading towards the Norwegian Sea, the entrance of the North Atlantic from the Arctic Ocean. Finally, the National Security Agency (NSA) has intercepted multiple HF/VHF (high/very high frequency) messages, indicative of military communications. Upon deciphering them, the analysts find out that the Russian high command has issued a mysterious order deploying all warships and attack submarines in the Arctic, Baltic, and Mediterranean fleets, and recalling all strategic missile submarines back to base. Even the Americans, who are clueless about Ramius intent, can very clearly tell that something has gone wrong for the Soviets, big time. Conversely, the Soviets understand the threat to its full extent. If Red October falls, there is the loss of equipment and computers on board, plus the loss of the submarine itself, as previously ... • 3. Orthodox Jewish Culture Jewish culture is a specific set of customs, morals, and traditions of the Jewish people starting as far back as four thousand years ago when Israel and Palestinian territories were still known as Canaan. Jewish culture is able to fulfill a large majority of people s cultural ideals through their religious beliefs, praying rituals, views on marriage and family, and their holidays celebrations, therefore making it acceptable to say that the culture is going to attract a numerous amount of followers for many years to come. A Jew is member of the people and cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism. Judaism follows the Ten Fundamental Principles which was derived from the Torah. The Torah is the central reference of Judaism. The Jew s Torah is essentially the Christian s Bible. Although Judaism is the main religion, it branches off into three denominations. These denominations include: orthodox, conservative, and reform Judaism. Orthodox Judaism is then divided into modern orthodox and ultra orthodox Judaism. Because Jews are often offended by the term ultra orthodox, they refer to themselves as Haredi. An orthodox Jew is a person who follows the principles and practices of traditional Judaism strictly. Modern orthodox Judaism is a orthodox practice that synthesizes Jewish values and laws with the modern world, while an ultra orthodox, or Haredi Jew, distances themselves from modern culture. Compared to orthodox Jews, conservative Jews adhere by the principles and practices of traditional Judaism but allow some departure. Similar to orthodox Jews, conservative Judaism once broke off into a branch called reconstructional Judaism. A reconstructionist Jew followed the modern american movement that viewed Judaism as a progressively evolving civilization rather than a religion during the late 1920s until the 1940s. This movement was based on the ideas of Mordecai Kaplan, a rabbi, an essayist, and a Jewish educator. The final denomination is reform Judaism. Reform Judaism is also known as liberal or progressive Judaism. Reform Judaism is the abandonment of orthodox Jew aspects in order to adjust to modern changes in political, social, and cultural life. Although the main goal of reform Judaism is to adjust to modern changes, the denomination stills follows the moral lessons of the Torah. Because there are denominations that fit to everybody s needs, it can be assumed that more people will convert to Judaism based on their desire to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Songlyrics In The Figurative Language In Literature Figurative language in the world of literature is language that uses words or expressions with a deep meaning that is different from the normal meaning of words and expressions. In the world of literature many writers and poets use figurative language to grab their audience attention. Figurative language is very common in poetry, lyrics, nonfiction writing and prose pieces. In this particular essay I would be discussing and analyzing different songlyrics that contain figures of speech and how effective these different figures of speech make the songs popular. In the figurative language we have different figures of speech. A figure of speech is a word or phrase that has different meaning than the actual meaning is a way writers used to exaggerate feelings and emotions. There are several figures of speech such as a hyperbole, personification, metaphor, simile and onomatopoeia. Each of these figures of speech all have different functions they play in the world of writing. Figures of speech are not used to exaggerate language, but to also cause a moment of excitement and intensity when reading. The majority of these figures of speech provide the writing with a more concise and clarifications of what the author, singer, writer or poet is trying to share with their particular audience. For instance, let s take a look at several songs that contain figures of speech. For example in the song Mean by Taylor Swift is singing about how someone s words could be painful and ... • 5. The Arab Ba ath Movement and The Rise of the Baath Party... Contrary to popular beliefs, civil activism and civil society has managed to thrive in the Middle East. Social movements on a variety of topics have occurred despite the lack of democracy and democratic institutions in certain countries. One popular movement was the Arab Ba ath Movement which eventually led to the formation of the Baath Party. By analyzing the movement s history, ideological stance, goals, the actors, dissenters, and international aspect, one can determine how and why the movement flourished in Syria. Syria was granted de jure independence from the French in 1941. However, the country was not truly independent until 1946. For the next twenty five years, the country would be launched into extreme political instability and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were attracted to the idea of equality on the basis of being an Arab and the promise of social reform, something that was desperately needed in the countryside. Additionally, the nationalist ideals the Baath promoted would neither exclude nor destroy the middle class and the positions they held (Galvani 4). The Baath also had a base in the military. Therefore, they were able to help members of rural communities join and gain prestige in the military. The Baath Party had two goals: to unite the Middle East into one Arab nation and to create a new set of political elites completely comprised of the rural, lower class to replace the tradition urban elites (Antoun and Quataert 33). They wanted to reverse the effects caused by imperialist intervention and the agrarian crisis in the 1950s. Therefore, when they took power, transformation a reformation from the top down occurred. The new regime took a more revolutionary turn and incorporated extreme leftist elements such as the idea of a one party system. It also had the state play a major role in national development, social welfare services, labor rights, regulation of private business in the national interest, and agrarian reform (Hinnebusch 680). What made the Baath Movement so successful was its ability to bring together various classes of society that divided Syria. It did this by promoting movements that were aligned ... William Lisle Bowles Time and Grief and James Montgomery s A Poor Wayfaring Man Of Grief from the Augustan Era, Paul Laurence Dunbar s Love and Grief and George Meredith s The Lesson Of Grief from the Victorian Era and Charles Bukowski s Consummation of Grief and Thomas Hardy s How Great My Grief from the Modern Era have changed the idea of grief from something that was feared into something that is better understood. In James Montgomery s A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief from the Augustan Age, had a very long and descriptive structure which exaggerated the story within the poem as well as the theme it portrayed. He was, Stripped, wounded, beaten nigh to death (Montgomery Line 33). James Montgomery turned grief into something that was emotionally slow and agonizing with all the details he used to allude to Jesus suffering. In George Meredith s The Lesson of Grief , had shorter, simpler lines that were used to explain grief furthermore. When I had shed my glad year s leaf,/ I did believe I stood alone,/ Till that great company of Grief/ Taught me to know this craving heart For not my own (Meredith 6 10). George Meredith used shorter lines to get his idea straight across and show that grief is not only something that is painful but also becomes a part of who you are as a person. In Charles Bukowski s Consummation of Grief , the structure of the poem consisted of many short lines that are all separate and aren t part of any stanzas. It has been globalized through the ages, and has brought many people enjoyment by watching, and playing the sport. While soccer has brought many people from around the world together, it has also driven a wedge between males and females in society. This sport is controversial for many reasons. While the sport was still in early development, rules were not truly implemented which brought about some violent behaviors between the players, ultimately resulting in the sport being banned by the king at the time, King Edward III. This ban was set into place around the year of 1365. This ban was introduced to Scotland a few decades later. Around the year of 1424, Scotland s King James I decided that no man will be allowed to play football ( football is how many foreign countries have named soccer). For centuries, the activity of the sport seemed to become lost, but there was a resurgence of the sport around the year of 1815, This is where many of the modern rules that are set in place today came into focus. A couple of college universities brought forth a system of rules for the sport which were known as the Cambridge Rules, the original official set of rules for the game. The game had been created with two versions, one in which later became known as rugby, while the other kept the traditional soccer style that many have come to love and enjoy. There was no concrete foundation of soccer until about the year of 1869 when the Football Association banned any type of ball handling with the hands. This is the first look at globalization. • 9. The Story of an Hour, by Kate Chopin Essay The Story of an Hour is a stark display of female rejection of the norms of society. This work, by Kate Chopin, begins with a woman going through the stages of grief for her husband s death. For the wife, Louise Mallard, this was an awakening of a new life. This new life is cut short as the information that led her to believe this news turns our false. Kate Chopin reveals that even the desire for love is trumped by the need for freedom and independence, through her use of precise diction and syntax, and symbolism. These descriptors help the reader to understand the transition she is going through. Due to the loss of her husband, she now has room to live her life, and to do so comfortably, without the intrusion or imposition of her husband. The outside world is described as being aquiver with the new spring life (79). She also describes the feeling of freedom as creeping out of the sky (80). It is hard for Mrs. Mallard to accept the new feelings of her freedom. The feeling had to creep due to the fact that her freedom was granted on the premise of her husband s death. This feeling, however, comes out of the sky as to show the new life promised to her, but it is still hard for her to believe that she wanted this freedom more than love. This is further displayed by the use of the phrase monstrous joy (80). The juxtaposition of these words shows very well the emotional state of Louise Mallard. The joy she is feeling is something that others could call monstrous, but the prison she was in previously could never be called joyful. Most important is the repetition of the word free (80). Muttering this under her breath is a sign that she cannot believe what she is even saying. It is at this moment that she realizes that she is free and can now enjoy her life as an independent person. In resisting this new emotion Mrs. Mallard was feeling, Chopin describes her as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been (80). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author compares the hopes and dreams of man to a ship on a sea. The ships that come in with the tide are ended dreams and the ships that stay sailing on the horizon are the ones that are still believed in. That is, until the dreamer realizes their dreams and leave, being mocked by the time they had wasted. Janie s dream sails on the horizon for most of her life. She can wish and hope for better things but the reality she lives in is very different. At the end of the novel, Janie realizes her dream. Her wish is to come in with the tide. So Hurston writes that Janie pulled in her horizon like a great fishnet (193). The author includes this quote to show that Janie had realized her dream. The hope for everyone is that the bills are taken care of and you are able to focus on leisurely things you did not have an opportunity for while employed. What we fail to realize is that the longer we wait to save the more we have to be concerned with the pressure of time running out and not enough money saved. The production of Ethanol is a form alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in. The 2004 elections marked the beginning of direct presidential and parliamentary elections. Yudhoyono was able to win the 2004 presidency due to PDI P s plummeting vote share and voter dealignment as all five major parties vote share have dramatically shrunk compared to the 1999 election (Slater 85). Internal recruitment can be beneficial because candidates are generally known by the organization and it may also build morale because it shows that there are always opportunities for advancement but it could also lead to the Peter principle which happens when successful employees continue to be promoted until they reach a position above their level of competence. Internal recruitment also may cause a ripple effect to occur when one person moves up the ladder it leaves another vacancy, that is then filled by another internal employee that in turn causes another vacancy. An advantage of external recruitment is that the new employee might bring new ideas to the organization and they can target applicants with the skills needed then settling for a internal employee who may lack some of the skills. On another note, external recruitment can be negative because it is costlier to hire a new employee, conduct a drug screen, provide training, and it also takes a new employee more time to get to know the organization. Recruitment is followed by selecting the right person from the applicants known as selection. Selection is a tricky task. They must carefully decide which applicant will have the most likely chance of success. The organization strives to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Fire Equipment Operator Report The sound of a q siren has been my favorite noise ever since I can remember. My dream of becoming a firefighter came true in 2005 when I was hired at the Bloomington, MN Fire Department. Over the last 11 years, I have attended multiple classes which include Emergency Medical Technician, Fire Equipment Operator and Hazardous Materials Technician. None of these extra classes focused on managerial development but in 2015, after an intense hiring process, I was promoted to the position of Captain. In this position, I am a first line supervisor and responsible for 25 firefighters that work with out of my station. Malcolm Gladwell s The 10,000 Hour Rule states you will be successful in something if you apply 10,000 hours towards it and in my experience and opinion, Gladwell s theory is misleading. In Gladwell s The 10,000 Hour Rule theory, he uses The Beetles and Bill Joy as examples of how they have practiced something for 10,000 hours and have become masters and ultimately extremely successful. ... According to research from psychological scientist Brooke Macnamara of Princeton and colleagues, Overall, deliberate practice activities designed with the goal of improving performance accounted for only 12 percent of individual differences observed in performance. (Princeton University, 2014) From my own experiences, and from additional research, I don t agree with Gladwell s theories that he outlines in the first and second chapters of Outliers as much as I believe it has to do with opportunities that arise and resources that you have available. The one thing I can say for certain is that if it was up to Gladwell I would be a master at his theories with the 10,000 hours under my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Commentary On Date Rape I found this play difficult to read. The overall tone of the piece was tinged with sadness. As I read, I would have to occasionally put it down to keep from crying. I m not exactly sure why this piece affected me so emotionally, but I feel that an emotional response to artwork is pretty significant. As I felt like crying, I was surprised by the section which talks about whiteness and a prescriptive notion that people shouldn t be emotional. The lady in blue states ...yes let s go on and be white...let s think our way out of feeling (shange 54). This was interesting commentary on the way in which dominant culture undervalues the body and emotions. Certainly all people have the capacity to be emotional and venerable, but these qualities are often ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was violent and in many ways another sort of bodily invasion. First the speaker must endure the brutality and humiliation of rape, and then she must endure the pain and danger of this medical procedure. This brought me back to Rich s Compulsory heterosexuality and her complication of consent and choice. I would very firmly argue that abortion should be an option for women, but I wonder how this procedure can be free from coercion within a violent patriarchal rape culture. I also found that the mixture of experiences this play portrays is very important. These women can share certain aspects of their experience, but they are far from the same. I found the lady in blue s story especially impactful. She is a clear embodiment of the way in which trauma and tragedy can make one feel that they must be cold and distant to survive and avoid further brutality. She argues that nice is such a rip off and I can certainly see her point (shange 53). The way in which that bitterness is used against each of the characters is also beautifully written and incredibly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Be Nobody s Darling Self Identity Essay The poems Be Nobody s Darling by Alice Walker and Williams Ernest Henley s Invictus cover the same main topic of self identity, but each portrays self identity in a different way. In Be Nobody s Darling , the narrator is telling the reader to go against society, to be an outcast , or to not follow the crowd, but to go in the opposite direction. The narrator says to take the contradictions of your life, and wrap around you like a shawl which is saying to turn bad scenarios into good ones. The main meaning for this poem in my opinion is to show that the reader doesn t have to follow the trends, and if they don t that isn t bad. In the poem Invictus self identity is shown as a determined individual who won t let their menace get to him. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Isopoda Research Paper Isopoda is an order of crustaceans that includes woodlice and their relatives. Isopods live in the sea, in fresh water, or on land. Most are small greyish or whitish animals with rigid, segmented exoskeletons. They have two pairs of antennae, seven pairs of jointed limbs on the thorax, and five pairs of branching appendages on the abdomen that are used in respiration. Females brood their young in a pouch under their thorax. Isopods have various feeding methods: some eat dead or decaying plant and animal matter, others are grazers or strain food particles from the water around them, a few are predators, and some are internal or external parasites, mostly of fishes. Aquatic species mostly live on the seabed or bottom of freshwater bodies of water, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
