My Life At The Hotel Room
One day in summer of 2015, my family and I went on a little vacation to Dallas,Texas. My mom and
dad went to hang out with their friends the whole vacation while me and my sister were bored in the
hotel room taking care of my little brat of a brother. But to our luck, there were two girls around my
age that are my friends. It kinda sucked for my sister because she had no one that was her age other
than three boys, but she won t talk to them. The adults wanted to have an adult day, but the whole
vacation it was adult days. I wanted to go swimming in the hotel room and so did the two girls plus
my sister.
They are responsible, They will be fine, let them go, all the adults said but maybe They were so
wrong. All the adults agreed to let us four girls go to the hotel alone.
Once we got to the hotel we sprinted up to the room. All of us decided to go to the pool. Everyone
took forever to get ready, but i was done in a flash. We got to the pool. Everybody was too chicken to
go to the pool. My sister being herself, she was paranoid because there was an old man who looked
creepy. One of the girls that was with us is very social and she didn t think before she does something.
her being herself called out to the old man
Hey how are you?
I m good how is the water? the creepy old man said
It s great, she responded
Well in that case i ll go and put my swimming suit on and meet you back in the pool, at that moment
we know that everything is going to go down hill. The old

Whigs vs Democrats
Jacksonian Democracy amp; Whig Values Emerging from the Jeffersonian Democratic Republicans in
the 1830 s, came a new party, led by the famous Andrew Jackson. This new party derived the same
principle of appealing to the average American that their predecessors did. The Jacksonian Democrats
took it a step further though, and boasted their dedication to the common man by insisting that the
government bowed to the will of the people. They were also a proponent of smaller government, and
that all positions of the state be elected directly by the populous. The main principle of the Jacksonian
Democrats, was the majority is to govern , in which Jackson himself also stated that [the people had
the right] of electing their Chief Magistrate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good majority of it s patrons were from the coastal and urban areas, whilst Jacksonian Democrats
voters mainly came from rural and agrarian societies; generally, more economically developed areas
would vote Whig. The campaigns were like religious revivals, as they predominantly campaigned only
near election time. The party was quite homogeneous as well, as it drew on evangelical Protestantism,
but the Democrats were not, and more likely to accept cultural

The Second Phase Of The Battle Of Shiloh Essay
The second phase of the Battle of Shiloh starts as reinforcements from General Buell s Army of the
Ohio and a unit of Grant s own reserve division joined the Union Army now positioned at Pittsburg
Landing. These reinforcements added over 22,500 men to the Union lines13 bringing the total number
of Union forces to over 45,000, which is more than they had on 6 April, the first day of fighting.14 On
April 7, General Grant renewed the fighting with an aggressive counteract.15 Greatly outnumbered
(Confederate forces now around 25,000) and disorganized the Confederate forces now under General
Beauregard fought hard but eventually had to retreat to back Corinth.16 The second phase of the
Battle of Shiloh was won by General Grant and his Union forces due to two main reasons. The first,
Union troop numbers greatly outnumbered their enemy, over 45,000 to 25,000 respectively. And
secondly, the reinforcements received by General Grant had not fought the day before and were fresh
and excited to fight, unlike the exhausted remaining Confederate troops.17 This was the bloodiest
battle fought on American soil up to that point, with 23,746 casualties (Union: 13,047; Confederate:
10,699).18 The Union lost more men but claimed the victory because the Confederate Army retreated
back to Corinth, Mississippi.

Correlation Between Self Esteem And Healthy Individuals
Studies relating to CNM relationships have not yet begun to explore the individual s self esteem. As
has already been discussed, the research relating to CNM relationships has provided a plethora of
information supporting healthy relationships and healthy individuals. The next step is to explore the
self esteem of these CNM individuals. Therefore, the purpose of this research proposal is to explore
correlations between self esteem scores on the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1989) with
relationship choice, including polyamory, swinging, BDSM and open relationships. The researcher
believes that based on the evidence presented of individuals who engage in CNM having many of the
same traits as those with higher scores on self esteem scales that the individuals who engage in CNM
will also score high on a self esteem scale. (For this proposal non consensual non monogamous
relationships will be considered monogamous as it is assumed that at least one party of the couple
identifies as being in a monogamous relationship.) Specifically, the researcher believes that
individuals involved in consensually non monogamous relationships will have self esteem scores
similar to the general population (See Figure 1). In fact, the researcher believes that the scores will be
scores associated with having high self esteem across all types of consensual non monogamies (See
Figure 2). Method Participants Sample participants would be obtained by attending local lifestyle or

Essay On Rolls Royce
From the understanding of The Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations contribution (Slack,
Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015, p. 44) we can conclude that during the period of 1960
Rolls Royce fell into the Internal Neutrality Stage (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015)
where their operations process was considered to be at the poorest stage as they did not contribute to
any competition what so ever and their operation process did not fetch them any profits. Moreover at
this stage, there is a serious lack of Product Innovation and Process Efficiency Management where the
operations of the firm are not even considered as the source of revenue (Slack, Brandon Jones,
Johnston, Betts, July 2015).We can confirm this from the case study where it was mentioned that Rolls

They also had huge technological failure during this period and they almost filed for bankruptcy and
were nationalised in 1971 (high flier, 2009). However, over the next few decades, Rolls Royce
bounced back as ever successful and surpassed all its competition. It is safe to say that they had
reached the final stage, Externally Supportive from the Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations
contribution (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) where they have displayed radical
characteristics of Product, Technological and Service Innovation, Adapting to the changes in the
market, embracing globalisation, Increasing efficiency in cost, operation process and services (Slack,
Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) which became the heart of the organisation and obviously
their revenue increased by almost 60 percent by 2006 (high flier, 2009). This proves that Rolls Royce
had reached its pinnacle of Success in the 2000s. How did they achieve this phenomenal

The Little Buddhism Analysis
The Little Buddha is an amazing, and uplifting movie, and full of positive meaning, yet it also is full
of religious meaning. Aspects of life and death are shown throughout the movie, but the film mainly
explains three key aspects of Buddhism. Buddhist teachings of reincarnation, impermanence, and
enlightenment, are connected deeply to each other and is illustrated throughout the film. The first
Buddhist teaching of reincarnation is evident from the beginning of the movie. The audience starts to
see these teachings when a Buddhist teacher is making it evident to his student (Lama Norbu) that he
is ready to reincarnate, after he passes away. Lama finds out that there are three potential
reincarnations of his teacher s soul. These reincarnates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It subtly explained that death is not permanent as it is merely a temporary state of one s soul that will
cycle on. The films depiction of impermanence gives the viewers the message of change and how it is
a part of life we all go through, however, death is not permanent. Nothing is forever in life, everyone
goes through changes that are positive and negative just like the films element of impermanence, that
provide the natural changes in the challenges of life. For instance, when one of the reincarnates child s
father s brother dies and they experience a difficult death, which is also showing that life is not finite.
Another illustration of impermanence and a lesson of reincarnation is a scene where Lama Norbu
explains what it means to reincarnate and its relation to the religion. He explains that the mind and the
body is like the content and the container . He illustrates this by smashing his cup of tea, and states,
the cup is not a cup anymore. Yet where is the tea? [...]just like the mind after one dies, the
tea(content) moves from one container to the next, but it is still tea . This is an important point about
how the soul travels from vessel to vessel. The vessels change but the soul remains the same, like the
tea in its cup, the floor, and in a

Comparing The Book Cruel And Unusual
Do you enjoy crime solving books? The book Cruel and Unusual by Patricia Cornwell was published
by pocket star books and was published in 1993. It is 409 pages long. The book starts off when the
Chief Medical Examiner, named Kay Scarpetta, walks into an autopsy of a murderer named Ronnie
Waddell who just got executed. A little bit after the execution a little boy is killed the same way that
Wadell killed people. Waddell s DNA was found near the body. One of Kay s old FBI friends, Benton
Wesley, and a homicide investigator, Pete Marino, help Kay Scarpetta figure out how a deceased
Ronnie Waddell can murder a little boy. I think that Cruel and Unusual was very interesting and
addicting to read. I would recommend this book to teenagers and

Photo Therapy Framework
To support my hypothesis, I will use the article Establishing the framework for using photos in art
therapy (and other therapies) practices by Weiser. According to this author the photo therapy has a
valuable use in psychologist, neuropsychologist and Gestalt psychotherapies (Weiser, 2014). In
neuropsychological rehabilitation, the photography may be used to recover client s memories, work in
their personal identity, autobiographical history, as well as new roles and emotions (Weiser, 2014).
Family albums and portraits may be used in psychotherapy by caregivers of patients with brain

The Importance Of Gross Motor Development
Motor skills involve movement of muscle in the body (John, 2009). These are larger movements such
as crawling, running, and jumping (John, 2009). Most of the gross motor development occurs during
childhood (John, 2009). Gross motor skills have two principals that determent how a child will
regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Head to toe development this
means the upper parts of the body will develop before the lower parts of the body (John, 2009).
Children develop these skills throughout play (John, 2009). A tree year old Toddler can be very active
therefore participating in activity that require movement, coordination, and balance can be beneficial
to help a toddler to develop their motor skills (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child can throw a
ball but catching it is more difficult. They start walking with good posture similar to an adult; they can
also walk backwards (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old can run which required strength and
balance, during running they should be able to rotate their trunk and swing their arms (John, 2009). By
the age of 3 a child walks up and down stairs alternating their feet without support which is possible
because their balance has increase (John, 2009). A 3 year old child also learns to jump from a step and
learn to jump forward (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). They start hopping at the
age of 3 ½ and also can stand on one foot (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Skipping
requires sequencing and rhythm which makes it more difficult this include step and hop patterns. Fine
Motor Fine motor skills are the movements made with the small muscle of the hand (Jan, Beth
Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child gets better in their fine motor skill (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). They
are able to move their fingers independently and have better spatial awareness; therefore, these
children can engage in more complex tasks such as using a scissor, the first cutting skills start at the
age of 3 (John, 2009). Children of this age should be able to unbutton a shirt or eat with a fork without
assistance (John, 2009). They can also complete and insert puzzle pieces, picking up small objects
with the thumb and

Suzie Wong Stereotypes
In this film, the protagonist, Asian women who lives in Hong Kong named Suzie Wong . She is a

child with her (but not with Robert). However, Robert seems to be the one that can help her from

Straight Hair Vs Clean Hair
People who dye their hair commonly have straight or slightly wavy hair. I have seen numerous people
with straight hair get highlights, streaks, or even color their whole head. But one thing that is
uncommon, almost rare is people with colored my type of hair. My type of hair can be described as
curly, kinky, frizzy, natural, or even as afro hair. Growing up I have seen very few people with color
their afro hair. Not only in my hometown, but nearly everywhere I have been to and even in the media.
I want to know why dyed straight hair is more common than dyed afro hair. Whether that must do
with the effects hair dye has to natural hair. Or the price and extended effort of taking care of dyed
hair. Or even the way hair trends are portrayed in the media and by celebrities When dyeing darker
hair, bleach is needed to lighten the color for the actual hair dye to color the hair. Bleach is harmful to
the hair as it causes dryness and breakage. Natural hair is usually dark and would need to be bleached
if it were going to be dyed, but the last thing it needs is more dryness. From experience, my type of
hair dries out easily and needs numerous other products to keep it moisturized. Hair dye is purely
chemical which might affect curl patterns and the overall look of the hair. Convenience stores don t
always carry the best quality products for an at home treatment and don t have the best selection of
products for different hair types. While going to the salon is an option for people

Strategic Issues the Association Should Address Essay
TO: APSA Council
RE: Council Discussion Topic: Organized Sections
This overview is designed to help launch a Council small group discussion about journals, and about
strategic issues the Association may wish to address. The memo notes salient issues the Association is
or will soon face. The themes included here are surely not complete and the goal is for a discussion
that helps ferret out or sharpen heretofore unarticulated issues as well as the ones we see now.
I. Introduction
APSA Organized Sections have been a mainstay of the Association since first formed in the early
1980 s. There has not been a comprehensive review of Sections and the ways in which the prominence
of Sections has shaped the Association since then, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This increases the total cost of APSA membership commensurately, especially consequential if a
member seeks to join multiple sections. We worry this may discourage multiple section membership,
diminish opportunity for cross fertilization among fields; and create sticker shock for APSA
membership in general.
At the same time, there may be potential value for the Association of being aligned with a bundle of
journal content organized across topical areas a kind of journal based analogue to the annual meeting
division structure.
As a specific matter, APSA has the opportunity help the State Politics and Policy Organized Section
purchase its journal from the university press that now owns it, by lending the Section money with
payback revenues over 10 years. Assuming the business deal made sense, would such a step make
sense from the standpoint of an Association wide journals policy.
APSA might seek to bring Section journals more under the Association umbrella itself and applying
journal guidelines, unbundling subscriptions from Section membership (while leaving editorial control
with the Sections.)
C. Governance and Liabilities
APSA s Organized Sections operate under the Association s Tax ID number, and legally are elements
of APSA as a corporation. A few APSA sections engage in outside activities such as separate
conferences. Generally, these are handled entirely by section members

Wild Prairie Fires Research
Upon reviewing how frequently historical wildfires have burned near my home (Fire Regime 2017) I
had found that my home area fell between the fire regime group 1 and 2. These regimes have a 0 35
year frequency of wildfires occurring with surface fires being the most common. This is due to the fact
that the area around my home is made up of mainly 20% herb and tree cover. Most of the wildfire in
my area are made up of prairie fires which have an important role in healthy ecosystems near me.
Wild prairie fires can introduce some benefit for the prairie ecosystems near my home. To start wild
prairie fires can help decrease the invasion of trees from the edges to the prairie ecosystem. This
allows small prairie plants to gain the sun needed to

Stem Cell Research Questions
1. What examples of learning by happy accident have you experienced in your own life? In my own
life, I have been lucky enough to encounter a range of happy accidents that have helped me learn and
better explore the world. For instance, as a child, I was able to understand the concept of depth by
trying to cram all of my possessions into a desk drawer. I was able to understand the concept of radius
and diameter when I was slicing up an apple pie for my mother. The concept of evaporation was
demonstrated to me firsthand as a child in that I was too lazy to clean up a glass of water that I spilled
in my room. Hours later, I found that science had cleaned it up for me. Excited, I read all about
evaporation and was able to understand the principles behind the subject. 2. What do you think it
means for a person (especially a scientist) to have a prepared mind, as Pasteur describes? As Pasteur
describes, a prepared mind is a mind which is well educated, and which has taken the time to study
and understand certain fundamental concepts and principles in a variety of fields. A prepared mind
describes a mind that has all the foundations in place so that learning, and more importantly, real
discovery, can occur. This mind has all the solid foundations in place so that exploration and chance
can bless it with good fortune. 3. How can a person prepare his or her mind to be open to chance
within any particular discipline? What roles might education, job experience, and

Chewing Gum Essay
Chewing gum has been linked to concentration thru studies showing that people who chew gum
during an assessment might do better than a person who is not. This is do to the fact that while
chewing gum your concentration rate goes up and allows you to focus more on the assessment given.
The Brain is set up with two systems one is your involuntary this is the system that collects stimuli
and process it. It s the system that makes automatic decisions for us, like turning our heads when we
hear our names called or freezing when we see a spider.
While system 2 runs the voluntary parts of our brains. It processes suggestions offered by System 1,
makes final decisions and chooses where to allocate our attention. The funny thing about how these
system work is that we assume a lot of the things we do are purely conscious decisions made by
System 2. In fact, almost everything we consciously decide on is based on automatic reactions and
suggestions fed to us by System 1.New research shows it takes one part of the brain to start
concentrating and another to be distracted. This discovery could help scientists develop better
treatments for attention deficit disorder.
This ability to willfully focus your attention is physically separate in the brain from distracting things
grabbing your attention, said Earl Miller, a neuroscientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He led the study, published in Friday s edition of the journal Science.
Now we know these two things are

Figure 3.5: FAST Feature detection in an image patch. The high lighted squares are the pixels used in
the feature detection. The pixel at C is the centre of a detected corner: the dashed line passes through
12 contiguous pixels which are brighter than
C by more than the threshold. [33]
is applied to find top N points. FAST does not compute the orientation and is rotation variant. It
computes the intensity weighted centroid of the patch with located corner at center. The direction of
the vector from this corner point to centroid gives the orientation. Moments are computed to improve
the rotation invariance. So, in ORB, a rotation matrix is computed using the orientation of patch and
then the BRIEF descriptors are steered according to the orientation. ... Show more content on

The Lucas Kanade method relies on three main assumptions:
Pixel intensity does not change between frames.
Chapter 3. System Composition 26
Figure 3.6: Visualization of optical flow.[11]
Neighboring pixels have similar motion.
Movement is small between frames.
The first assumption is needed as the method operates directly on the intensity of the image, if these
were to change much between each frame the algorithm would fail. The second assumption is needed
as the algorithm uses a window around the point of interest. The window is necessary as (u, v) cannot
be computed from just one pixel. The last assumption is needed as the algorithm uses a search window
to find the vector (u, v). If the movement between frames are too large it may fall outside of the search
window and the vector can not be calculated.
u and v are found by solving the equation shown in (3.6). Ix and Iy are the hori zontal and vertical
gradient images within the search window. These are found by convolving the image with the vertical
and horizontal Sobel kernels. q1, q2 , . . . , qn are the pixels coordinates of the pixels in the
neighborhood of the point being evaluated. Ix(q1)v + Iy (q1)u = −It(q1)
Ix(q2)v + Iy (q2)u = −It(q2)

Evolutionary Past
Evolutionary Past The first known ancestor of the horse lived around 55 million years ago. This dog
sized animal was called the Hyracotherium, and the fossils were found in North America. This animal
is said to look nothing like a horse, instead it had dog like characteristics such as an arched back, short
snout, and long tail. 40 million years ago the species Mesohippus celer appeared. It was taller than the
Hyracotherium ( being 24 inches at the shoulder compared to 10 20 inches). They also didn t look as
dog like, because the back straightened slightly, the neck and legs grew a few inches, and the snout
and face had grown longer. A close relative of the Mesohippus celer came to be, around 36 million
years ago, called Miohippus assiniboiensis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Miocene horses, seen 18 million years ago, had adapted to be better grass grazers. The teeth
changed so that they could easily eat harsh grasses and the teeth also grew longer. They had also
increased in body size, leg length, and face length. These horses even became advanced in running. 24
million years ago the Parahippus appeared and were found to be the link between modern and ancient
horses. They were the first horses to have one big toe with two smaller toes off the side, instead of
four toes of the same size. 17 million years ago the Merychippus marked a truly horse looking horse.
Even though it still had three toes, it was the first to have high crowned cheek teeth that made it a
grazing horse. The closet living relative to horses, donkeys, and zebras is called the Dinohippus. It
was discovered 12 million years ago. This was the first to have only one toe, similar to that of the
modern horse. The Dinohippus eventually evolved to Equus, the genus of modern horses. They had
straight backs, long legs, and one toe. The Equus underwent slight changes over the last 4 million
years, but overall they are the

The Good Old Days The image of the 1950s is usually characterized by clean cut, all American
families with not a worry in the world, but behind the scenes, the American people just got out of a
devastating war, and they must face the difficult challenges that came out of it. The 1950s Beach Date
photograph portrays a beach scene that focuses on a young couple spending their day together. With
its classic black and white color quality and vintage style atmosphere this photo would surely put the
older generation in a state of nostalgia. However, the photo s meaning is the real treasure here, and it
could go much farther than the wistful feelings it depicts. The 1950s represents the carefree, simpler

This correlates with the importance of sharing these memories with each other. As mentioned above, it
is seen through their gestures and facial expressions that the main couple enjoy being with each other,
and they appreciate their time together. The people of the background also suggest they enjoy sharing
their day with someone else. Some hold hands like the young couple in the middle, showing a sign of
affection. Another pair places their arm on the other s shoulder, indicating a relationship of some kind.
One man actually seems to be helping his friend out as he stumble along the sandy path, implying that
he cares if his friend gets hurt. Others race down the sand dunes together, suggesting a fun filled
relationship. On the other hand, a man on the left of the photo is seen alone. He expresses a
melancholy look on his face suggesting he is lonely. With his dark, heavy clothing, the man seems out
of place and contrasts with the others of the photo. It is possible that he was captured in this shot to
prove that friendship was important and almost essential at this time. Despite the gloomy feeling of
the lonely man, it is the friendships that capture the untroubled nature of the 1950s and shows the fun
memories were shared with ones they cared

An International Student Of Public Health Essay
Trying to Fulfil a Dream As an international student, public health is not a major you hear about
regularly. As a Middle Eastern, everyone is expected to pursue a degree in Medicine, Engineering or
Pharmacy. I recall the most common question I got asked when I mentioned I was majoring in public
health was, ...so, you are going to be a nurse? The idea was introduced to me by my mother some
years back, who is a physician, who thought it would suit my lifetime general goals. As a child I
remember always being that one person who would always warn my classmates about the dangers of
doing this and that, and of eating this or drinking that. I would make presentations in class about the
negative effects that soft drinks have on our bodies, laser printers exhaust on air pollution and aerosol
sprays on the ozone, and in turn on our skin from harmful UV rays. Therefore, with my introduction to
public health as a major, I realized it was the perfect way to fulfill what I want to do in my future,
even though I barely had a clue what it was. A public health major was yet the first door to open that
led to many more doors. Perhaps I was not so familiar with the number of specialties and career
choices that come with a public health major, but I at least knew which path to follow. Upon research
into the different positions I found that one in specific related most to what I felt I want to do:
Epidemiology. It is explained on publichealthdegrees.org that Epidemiologists work to reduce

Police Brutality Against Black Men
Honestly, there seems to be an ongoing battle between Black men and Law enforcement. Police
Brutality against Black men is at an alarming rate. The history of violence, discrimination, supremacy,
and disregard for the law has been morally accepted amongst our Society. Besides that, the seemingly
higher number of men being killed by law enforcement could be attributed to poverty stricken
communities, which have higher crime rates, racial bias, and sinful pride! Recent events have become
so detrimental that black men try to avoid confrontations and committing crimes altogether in fear of
losing their lives. Moreover, Black men today are not as submissive to law enforcement, and policies
as their ancestors were in the past. Today s Black men are more aggressive toward law enforcement
due to fear of the outcome of a simple search and procedures. This mentality happens because black
men fear going to jail, getting shot, being misunderstood, or simple injustice. Stereo typed and learned
behavior also play a vital role in these type situations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Police Brutality has been a rampant issue in Mobile, Alabama, where a murphy high school student,
Michael Moore, lost his life at the hands of Mobile Police Department. According to Officer Hurst,
Moore reached for a weapon, which was never discovered at the scene of the crime. However, police
claimed a weapon was discovered in his waistband at the hospital. Although no video emerged to back
up that claim. Witness on the scene testified that Moore had a cellphone. Mobile County Grand Jury

The Outliers Malcolm Gladwell
The Outliers book that was written by Malcolm Gladwell s tries to study the reason some people are
more successful than others in life. In the book, he usually refers to them as these outliers have
extraordinary brilliance and intelligence as compared to an average person. This belief he tried to
counter by explaining on the lifestyle of some outliers. It evaluates the successes and prosperity of
people like Bill Gates whose achievement he attributed to some factors outside of him than anything
within him. He opined that the day he was born has a lot of advantage on his success and that of his
establishment; Microsoft Corporation.
The book reflected on some questions which bothered on the birth of some important Canadian

Anxiety Disorder And Anxiety Disorders
A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an
uncertain outcome. This is the definition for anxiety from a text book stand point. Someone that has or
has experienced anxiety would describe it differently. An anxiety problem can be developed through
genetics, past life events, and personality. Anxiety can be broken down into six different branches:
generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobia, post traumatic
stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder. People with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) often
have increased anxiety over something that shouldn t create worry. Such as thinking about having to

But when those fears disrupt someone s daily routine or relationship they might have a phobia anxiety
disorder. Someone with this disorder might travel an extra thirty minutes out of the way for work just
to avoid a bridge because of their fear of heights. Some believe that these phobias are developed
during childhood but they are more commonly brought on suddenly during adulthood. These people
usually realize that their fears are irrational but they can t change them because even thinking about
them cause extra distress. 8.7% (9 million) of American have this disorder and is usually onset around
the age of 7.
It is very normal for someone to have nightmares or flashbacks to something traumatic that happened
but post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) is much more serious. People that have experienced a very
traumatic event such as war, rape, death, or any other event will have PTSD. Sudden flashbacks or
memories can cause someone to have a panic attack or cause them to become very aggressive. PTSD
can stick around for months or even years after the experience that caused it. It is estimated that
around 7.8% of Americans will experience PTSD at some point in their lives.
Social anxiety disorder also known as social phobia is a phobia that prevents the person from being
able to have a normal social life. When in a crowed situation this person will have a constant fear that

The State Of Discipline Essay
The State of the Discipline History cannot be changed, but as time goes on different discoveries,
interpretations, issues, and concerns for the discipline arise that cause historians to analyze the state of
the discipline. To investigate these concerns, I read articles from Perspectives on History, particularly
the October 2017 issue. During this research, I discovered that some of the ideas, topics, and debates
that are occupying historians right now are: student enrollment, the preservation of history, and the
rewriting of history via alternative facts. One major concern currently for historians is how to revive
history in the classroom. In almost every month so far in 2017, there has been at least one article
concerning low numbers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important aspect of these monuments are that they are beginning to memorialize all the victims
from the Holocaust, such as the Jews, handicapped, and homosexuals. Another issue concerning
historians is the idea of alternative facts popularized by the United State s current president, Donald
Trump. The author, Robert Blackey, makes his opinion about alternative facts clear: they are
detrimental to history and are not alternative, but false. An important distinction he makes is that
alternative facts are not synonymous with alternative interpretations. Historians (and students of
History 200) learn how to formulate historical narratives. As discussed in the last paper, certain
aspects can deviate and focus on various factors that ultimately shape the narrative. However, there
are always facts and evidence supporting every claim. Alternative facts are a lie, and it believe so as a
historian is to betray history, and this is why it is an important issue plaguing the nation. In order to
prove a point or save face, individuals are undermining history and facts.
The topics that are being presented in this article are present issues that have been influenced by the
past. When individuals decide on a stance on the issue of confederate monuments, it is important that
they investigate the past for the context, and this article specifically encourages individuals to do so.

The Impact Of Mongol Conquests
As the Mongols expanded their nation through conquest, they were able to revive trade while
cultivating the blend of new ideas and cultural traditions. Despite the positive attributes that the
Mongols brought, the Mongol conquests also caused a great deal of destruction to the societies of Afro
Eurasia during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. The barbaric violence used by the Mongols
during these times contradicts the peace and prosperity they supposedly yearned for. The brutality of
the Mongolian military resulted in a large drop of Afro Eurasian population. Mongol invasions were
extremely cruel to the extent where some cities were annihilated and entire populations extinguished.
An anonymous author of The Secret History of the Mongols writes about the merciless Chinggis Khan
and his gruesome warfare tactics he used on the Tangut peoples. The Mongolian ruler ordered Tangut
cities to be destroyed and to have the women, children, and grandchildren all executed. (Doc. 1). This
document provides insight to the extent of the impact of Mongol destruction, where cities like Tangut
were completely destroyed. One would expect the author to glorify the Mongols by discussing the
humane aspect of Mongol conquest, because this account was written for the Mongol royal family.
However, an account like this might have been seen as satisfactory for the royal family, since the
Mongols celebrated and encouraged horrendous atrocities. Russian monks from the city of Novgorod

Essay on Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain
Why Britain Won the Battle of Britain
After taking France in addition to his list of captured countries on mainland Europe, Adolf Hitler set
his sights on Britain. After the success of Blitzkrieg, the evacuation of Dunkirk and the surrender of
France, Britain was by herself. However, before Hitler could contemplate undertaking an invasion he
was advised by his generals that Germany had to destroy the Fighter Command of the Royal Air Force
in order to gain superiority in the air. This would in turn enable him to gain control of the English
Channel in order to transfer the 160,000 German troops on the 2000 invasion barges, which had been
assembled in German, French and Belgian harbors, over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, under the category of technology I could say that one reason why Britain won the battle
of Britain was because they had the services of the radar system.
Firstly, the tactics employed by both sides would play a key role in itself to deciding the outcome of
the Battle of Britain. The battle started on July 10th 1940 when the Luftwaffe attempted to gain
control of the Straits of Dover. The tactics employed by the Luftwaffe was to tempt the RAF out for a
full scale battle. However, by the end of July, the RAF had lost 150 aircraft while the Luftwaffe had
lost 268. These figures illustrate that there was a much greater loss of aircraft experienced by
Germany than the British. These large losses of planes from the outset of a battle would have been a
significant blow to any army however, this would have damaged German morale as a greater loss of
planes was not something they would have contemplated and as they were coming into this battle with
such high expectations, this would have been a significant blow to the Luftwaffe and a stern wake up
call to their commanders. However, Britain too was suffering, it was the loss of trained pilots that was
crippling the RAF, and the real battle had yet to begin. In August, the Luftwaffe changed their tactics
and started to attack Fighter Command s airfields, operation rooms and radar stations the idea being
that the RAF

Arctic Like Biomes
The Arctic like biomes has a very limited amount of plant and animal life compared to other biomes.
These Arctic like biomes would include the Arctic of course, the Taiga, and the Tundra. They are very
well known for its ridiculously cold and harsh climate and is important because it helps moderate our
global climate. One example of an animal from these Arctic like biomes is the Mustela obsesipedetes.
There is little doubt that creatures in these Arctic like biomes are perfectly adapted for life in the cold.
In my personal opinion, I believe that the Mustela obsesipedetes is the most well adapted creature in
the whole entire Animalia. The species is a member of the Mustela genus. The genus Mustela can be
characterized by several, distinct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Mustela albus obesipedetes has adapted to its environment in many numerous ways such as it is at
the top of the food chain in the Arctic, Tundra, and Taiga despite its appearance. An adaptation it has
would be its light, snowy white coat of fur that can turn into a shade of brown. Over the course of the
biome s harsh winters, it snows a tremendous amount, making everything white, icy, and snowy. In the
winter, the Mustela albus obesipedetes fur is snowy white and turns brown as it transitions to the
summer, blending into the environment. Another characteristic it has is its ability to keep warm
against the jarring cold weather. The Mustela albus obesipedetes has insulated blubber, making it fat,
but helps it keep cozy, warm, and active throughout its day. The diet of the Mustela albus obesipedetes
primarily consists of meat, such as polar bears, wolves, eagles, foxes, and whatnot. Although these
animals may seem impossible for this small, vulnerable creature to catch, the Mustela albus
obesipedetes hunger and wanting of prey takes on another level of savage, ferociously defeating its
opponent with all its features. The Mustela albus obesipedetes has a very large diet and likes to eat
very much, in reflection to its chubby

Jean Pierre Corteggiani From The French Institute Of...
Jean Pierre Corteggiani from the French Institute of Oriental Archeology states that the Nile is
therefore life itself to Egypt. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing
without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian
civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers
from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile
river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to
keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the
water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was that gods
spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to agriculture. As new
techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production increased as well.
Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden age of ancient
Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a pharaoh could
have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. Under their commands, gigantic pyramids
were constructed. However, the logic of the edification of those pyramids and their builders are still a
mystery. All that is known is that the construction of the mausoleum required high technical

The Doom Clock Chapter 2.
An old, blue Ford truck sped down a mountain trail. Trees of fiery leaves lined the dirt road.
Alexander sat in the back seat of the car. In the front sat his mom, dark haired and green eyed, and his
dad, wearing a faded jacket and a look of desperation. It was Sunday in November. Normally,
Alexander would be at the park playing baseball with his friends or at the library. Today was different.
A family trip, his mom had told him. But something seemed odd. Maybe it was the way his parents
were barely glancing him, the way they seemed to have something to hide. Alexander s mom had said
that they would be back at their Albuquerque home before the day finished. They had been driving for
[number of] hours. It was evening. The car stopped at an old farm. In the middle lay a rotting barn that
had once been light blue. Paint peeled. Rusted tractor parts and equipment were scattered across the
lawn. To the right lay deep green woods. Dirt road stretched to the left. The farm looked utterly
deserted. Were here, grunted Alexander s father. Alex s mom marched toward the door of the barn.
There was a rusted bell, connected to a pulley and a thick rope. Alex s mom pulled it. The bell rang
out, loud and strong. The family waited. They must have looked strange, crowded onto the stoop of an
old farm house outside of Santa Fe. Alexander s parents often did strange things. They had little
money, and always signed up for odd jobs. Alexander s dad worked as a part time doorman,

  • 2. My Life At The Hotel Room One day in summer of 2015, my family and I went on a little vacation to Dallas,Texas. My mom and dad went to hang out with their friends the whole vacation while me and my sister were bored in the hotel room taking care of my little brat of a brother. But to our luck, there were two girls around my age that are my friends. It kinda sucked for my sister because she had no one that was her age other than three boys, but she won t talk to them. The adults wanted to have an adult day, but the whole vacation it was adult days. I wanted to go swimming in the hotel room and so did the two girls plus my sister. They are responsible, They will be fine, let them go, all the adults said but maybe They were so wrong. All the adults agreed to let us four girls go to the hotel alone. Once we got to the hotel we sprinted up to the room. All of us decided to go to the pool. Everyone took forever to get ready, but i was done in a flash. We got to the pool. Everybody was too chicken to go to the pool. My sister being herself, she was paranoid because there was an old man who looked creepy. One of the girls that was with us is very social and she didn t think before she does something. her being herself called out to the old man Hey how are you? I m good how is the water? the creepy old man said It s great, she responded Well in that case i ll go and put my swimming suit on and meet you back in the pool, at that moment we know that everything is going to go down hill. • 3. Whigs vs Democrats Jacksonian Democracy amp; Whig Values Emerging from the Jeffersonian Democratic Republicans in the 1830 s, came a new party, led by the famous Andrew Jackson. This new party derived the same principle of appealing to the average American that their predecessors did. The Jacksonian Democrats took it a step further though, and boasted their dedication to the common man by insisting that the government bowed to the will of the people. They were also a proponent of smaller government, and that all positions of the state be elected directly by the populous. The main principle of the Jacksonian Democrats, was the majority is to govern , in which Jackson himself also stated that [the people had the right] of electing their Chief Magistrate ... • 4. The Second Phase Of The Battle Of Shiloh Essay The second phase of the Battle of Shiloh starts as reinforcements from General Buell s Army of the Ohio and a unit of Grant s own reserve division joined the Union Army now positioned at Pittsburg Landing. These reinforcements added over 22,500 men to the Union lines13 bringing the total number of Union forces to over 45,000, which is more than they had on 6 April, the first day of fighting.14 On April 7, General Grant renewed the fighting with an aggressive counteract.15 Greatly outnumbered (Confederate forces now around 25,000) and disorganized the Confederate forces now under General Beauregard fought hard but eventually had to retreat to back Corinth.16 The second phase of the Battle of Shiloh was won by General Grant and his Union forces due to two main reasons. The first, Union troop numbers greatly outnumbered their enemy, over 45,000 to 25,000 respectively. And secondly, the reinforcements received by General Grant had not fought the day before and were fresh and excited to fight, unlike the exhausted remaining Confederate troops.17 This was the bloodiest battle fought on American soil up to that point, with 23,746 casualties (Union: 13,047; Confederate: 10,699).18 The Union lost more men but claimed the victory because the Confederate Army retreated back to Corinth, Mississippi. • 5. Correlation Between Self Esteem And Healthy Individuals Studies relating to CNM relationships have not yet begun to explore the individual s self esteem. As has already been discussed, the research relating to CNM relationships has provided a plethora of information supporting healthy relationships and healthy individuals. The next step is to explore the self esteem of these CNM individuals. Therefore, the purpose of this research proposal is to explore correlations between self esteem scores on the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1989) with relationship choice, including polyamory, swinging, BDSM and open relationships. The researcher believes that based on the evidence presented of individuals who engage in CNM having many of the same traits as those with higher scores on self esteem scales that the individuals who engage in CNM will also score high on a self esteem scale. (For this proposal non consensual non monogamous relationships will be considered monogamous as it is assumed that at least one party of the couple identifies as being in a monogamous relationship.) Specifically, the researcher believes that individuals involved in consensually non monogamous relationships will have self esteem scores similar to the general population (See Figure 1). In fact, the researcher believes that the scores will be scores associated with having high self esteem across all types of consensual non monogamies (See Figure 2). Method Participants Sample participants would be obtained by attending local lifestyle or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On Rolls Royce From the understanding of The Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations contribution (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015, p. 44) we can conclude that during the period of 1960 Rolls Royce fell into the Internal Neutrality Stage (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) where their operations process was considered to be at the poorest stage as they did not contribute to any competition what so ever and their operation process did not fetch them any profits. Moreover at this stage, there is a serious lack of Product Innovation and Process Efficiency Management where the operations of the firm are not even considered as the source of revenue (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015).We can confirm this from the case study where it was mentioned that Rolls Royce at 1960s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They also had huge technological failure during this period and they almost filed for bankruptcy and were nationalised in 1971 (high flier, 2009). However, over the next few decades, Rolls Royce bounced back as ever successful and surpassed all its competition. It is safe to say that they had reached the final stage, Externally Supportive from the Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations contribution (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) where they have displayed radical characteristics of Product, Technological and Service Innovation, Adapting to the changes in the market, embracing globalisation, Increasing efficiency in cost, operation process and services (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) which became the heart of the organisation and obviously their revenue increased by almost 60 percent by 2006 (high flier, 2009). • 7. The Little Buddhism Analysis The Little Buddha is an amazing, and uplifting movie, and full of positive meaning, yet it also is full of religious meaning. Aspects of life and death are shown throughout the movie, but the film mainly explains three key aspects of Buddhism. Buddhist teachings of reincarnation, impermanence, and enlightenment, are connected deeply to each other and is illustrated throughout the film. The first Buddhist teaching of reincarnation is evident from the beginning of the movie. The audience starts to see these teachings when a Buddhist teacher is making it evident to his student (Lama Norbu) that he is ready to reincarnate, after he passes away. Lama finds out that there are three potential reincarnations of his teacher s soul. These reincarnates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It subtly explained that death is not permanent as it is merely a temporary state of one s soul that will cycle on. The films depiction of impermanence gives the viewers the message of change and how it is a part of life we all go through, however, death is not permanent. Nothing is forever in life, everyone goes through changes that are positive and negative just like the films element of impermanence, that provide the natural changes in the challenges of life. For instance, when one of the reincarnates child s father s brother dies and they experience a difficult death, which is also showing that life is not finite. Another illustration of impermanence and a lesson of reincarnation is a scene where Lama Norbu explains what it means to reincarnate and its relation to the religion. He explains that the mind and the body is like the content and the container . He illustrates this by smashing his cup of tea, and states, the cup is not a cup anymore. Yet where is the tea? [...]just like the mind after one dies, the tea(content) moves from one container to the next, but it is still tea . This is an important point about how the soul travels from vessel to vessel. It is 409 pages long. The book starts off when the Chief Medical Examiner, named Kay Scarpetta, walks into an autopsy of a murderer named Ronnie Waddell who just got executed. A little bit after the execution a little boy is killed the same way that Wadell killed people. Waddell s DNA was found near the body. One of Kay s old FBI friends, Benton Wesley, and a homicide investigator, Pete Marino, help Kay Scarpetta figure out how a deceased Ronnie Waddell can murder a little boy. In neuropsychological rehabilitation, the photography may be used to recover client s memories, work in their personal identity, autobiographical history, as well as new roles and emotions (Weiser, 2014). • 10. The Importance Of Gross Motor Development Motor skills involve movement of muscle in the body (John, 2009). These are larger movements such as crawling, running, and jumping (John, 2009). Most of the gross motor development occurs during childhood (John, 2009). Gross motor skills have two principals that determent how a child will regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Head to toe development this means the upper parts of the body will develop before the lower parts of the body (John, 2009). Children develop these skills throughout play (John, 2009). A tree year old Toddler can be very active therefore participating in activity that require movement, coordination, and balance can be beneficial to help a toddler to develop their motor skills (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child can throw a ball but catching it is more difficult. They start walking with good posture similar to an adult; they can also walk backwards (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old can run which required strength and balance, during running they should be able to rotate their trunk and swing their arms (John, 2009). By the age of 3 a child walks up and down stairs alternating their feet without support which is possible because their balance has increase (John, 2009). A 3 year old child also learns to jump from a step and learn to jump forward (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). They start hopping at the age of 3 ½ and also can stand on one foot (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Skipping requires sequencing and rhythm which makes it more difficult this include step and hop patterns. Fine Motor Fine motor skills are the movements made with the small muscle of the hand (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child gets better in their fine motor skill (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). They are able to move their fingers independently and have better spatial awareness; therefore, these children can engage in more complex tasks such as using a scissor, the first cutting skills start at the age of 3 (John, 2009). Children of this age should be able to unbutton a shirt or eat with a fork without assistance (John, 2009). They can also complete and insert puzzle pieces, picking up small objects with the thumb and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Straight Hair Vs Clean Hair People who dye their hair commonly have straight or slightly wavy hair. I have seen numerous people with straight hair get highlights, streaks, or even color their whole head. But one thing that is uncommon, almost rare is people with colored my type of hair. My type of hair can be described as curly, kinky, frizzy, natural, or even as afro hair. Growing up I have seen very few people with color their afro hair. Not only in my hometown, but nearly everywhere I have been to and even in the media. I want to know why dyed straight hair is more common than dyed afro hair. Whether that must do with the effects hair dye has to natural hair. Or the price and extended effort of taking care of dyed hair. Or even the way hair trends are portrayed in the media and by celebrities When dyeing darker hair, bleach is needed to lighten the color for the actual hair dye to color the hair. Bleach is harmful to the hair as it causes dryness and breakage. Natural hair is usually dark and would need to be bleached if it were going to be dyed, but the last thing it needs is more dryness. From experience, my type of hair dries out easily and needs numerous other products to keep it moisturized. Hair dye is purely chemical which might affect curl patterns and the overall look of the hair. • 13. Strategic Issues the Association Should Address Essay TO: APSA Council RE: Council Discussion Topic: Organized Sections This overview is designed to help launch a Council small group discussion about journals, and about strategic issues the Association may wish to address. The memo notes salient issues the Association is or will soon face. The themes included here are surely not complete and the goal is for a discussion that helps ferret out or sharpen heretofore unarticulated issues as well as the ones we see now. I. Introduction APSA Organized Sections have been a mainstay of the Association since first formed in the early 1980 s. There has not been a comprehensive review of Sections and the ways in which the prominence of Sections has shaped the Association since then, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This increases the total cost of APSA membership commensurately, especially consequential if a member seeks to join multiple sections. We worry this may discourage multiple section membership, diminish opportunity for cross fertilization among fields; and create sticker shock for APSA membership in general. At the same time, there may be potential value for the Association of being aligned with a bundle of journal content organized across topical areas a kind of journal based analogue to the annual meeting division structure. As a specific matter, APSA has the opportunity help the State Politics and Policy Organized Section purchase its journal from the university press that now owns it, by lending the Section money with payback revenues over 10 years. Assuming the business deal made sense, would such a step make sense from the standpoint of an Association wide journals policy. APSA might seek to bring Section journals more under the Association umbrella itself and applying journal guidelines, unbundling subscriptions from Section membership (while leaving editorial control with the Sections.) C. Governance and Liabilities APSA s Organized Sections operate under the Association s Tax ID number, and legally are elements of APSA as a corporation. A few APSA sections engage in outside activities such as separate conferences. Generally, these are handled entirely by section members ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wild Prairie Fires Research Upon reviewing how frequently historical wildfires have burned near my home (Fire Regime 2017) I had found that my home area fell between the fire regime group 1 and 2. These regimes have a 0 35 year frequency of wildfires occurring with surface fires being the most common. This is due to the fact that the area around my home is made up of mainly 20% herb and tree cover. Most of the wildfire in my area are made up of prairie fires which have an important role in healthy ecosystems near me. • 16. Stem Cell Research Questions 1. What examples of learning by happy accident have you experienced in your own life? In my own life, I have been lucky enough to encounter a range of happy accidents that have helped me learn and better explore the world. For instance, as a child, I was able to understand the concept of depth by trying to cram all of my possessions into a desk drawer. I was able to understand the concept of radius and diameter when I was slicing up an apple pie for my mother. The concept of evaporation was demonstrated to me firsthand as a child in that I was too lazy to clean up a glass of water that I spilled in my room. Hours later, I found that science had cleaned it up for me. Excited, I read all about evaporation and was able to understand the principles behind the subject. 2. What do you think it means for a person (especially a scientist) to have a prepared mind, as Pasteur describes? As Pasteur describes, a prepared mind is a mind which is well educated, and which has taken the time to study and understand certain fundamental concepts and principles in a variety of fields. A prepared mind describes a mind that has all the foundations in place so that learning, and more importantly, real discovery, can occur. This mind has all the solid foundations in place so that exploration and chance can bless it with good fortune. 3. This is do to the fact that while chewing gum your concentration rate goes up and allows you to focus more on the assessment given. The Brain is set up with two systems one is your involuntary this is the system that collects stimuli and process it. It s the system that makes automatic decisions for us, like turning our heads when we hear our names called or freezing when we see a spider. While system 2 runs the voluntary parts of our brains. It processes suggestions offered by System 1, makes final decisions and chooses where to allocate our attention. The funny thing about how these system work is that we assume a lot of the things we do are purely conscious decisions made by System 2. In fact, almost everything we consciously decide on is based on automatic reactions and suggestions fed to us by System 1.New research shows it takes one part of the brain to start concentrating and another to be distracted. This discovery could help scientists develop better treatments for attention deficit disorder. This ability to willfully focus your attention is physically separate in the brain from distracting things grabbing your attention, said Earl Miller, a neuroscientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He led the study, published in Friday s edition of the journal Science. Now we know these two things are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The pixel at C is the centre of a detected corner: the dashed line passes through 12 contiguous pixels which are brighter than C by more than the threshold. [33] is applied to find top N points. FAST does not compute the orientation and is rotation variant. It computes the intensity weighted centroid of the patch with located corner at center. The direction of the vector from this corner point to centroid gives the orientation. Moments are computed to improve the rotation invariance. So, in ORB, a rotation matrix is computed using the orientation of patch and then the BRIEF descriptors are steered according to the orientation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first assumption is needed as the method operates directly on the intensity of the image, if these were to change much between each frame the algorithm would fail. The second assumption is needed as the algorithm uses a window around the point of interest. The window is necessary as (u, v) cannot be computed from just one pixel. The last assumption is needed as the algorithm uses a search window to find the vector (u, v). If the movement between frames are too large it may fall outside of the search window and the vector can not be calculated. u and v are found by solving the equation shown in (3.6). As a Middle Eastern, everyone is expected to pursue a degree in Medicine, Engineering or Pharmacy. I recall the most common question I got asked when I mentioned I was majoring in public health was, ...so, you are going to be a nurse? The idea was introduced to me by my mother some years back, who is a physician, who thought it would suit my lifetime general goals. As a child I remember always being that one person who would always warn my classmates about the dangers of doing this and that, and of eating this or drinking that. I would make presentations in class about the negative effects that soft drinks have on our bodies, laser printers exhaust on air pollution and aerosol sprays on the ozone, and in turn on our skin from harmful UV rays. Therefore, with my introduction to public health as a major, I realized it was the perfect way to fulfill what I want to do in my future, even though I barely had a clue what it was. During this research, I discovered that some of the ideas, topics, and debates that are occupying historians right now are: student enrollment, the preservation of history, and the rewriting of history via alternative facts. The author, Robert Blackey, makes his opinion about alternative facts clear: they are detrimental to history and are not alternative, but false. An important distinction he makes is that alternative facts are not synonymous with alternative interpretations. Historians (and students of History 200) learn how to formulate historical narratives. For example, under the category of technology I could say that one reason why Britain won the battle of Britain was because they had the services of the radar system. Firstly, the tactics employed by both sides would play a key role in itself to deciding the outcome of the Battle of Britain. The battle started on July 10th 1940 when the Luftwaffe attempted to gain control of the Straits of Dover. The tactics employed by the Luftwaffe was to tempt the RAF out for a full scale battle. However, by the end of July, the RAF had lost 150 aircraft while the Luftwaffe had lost 268. These figures illustrate that there was a much greater loss of aircraft experienced by Germany than the British. These large losses of planes from the outset of a battle would have been a significant blow to any army however, this would have damaged German morale as a greater loss of planes was not something they would have contemplated and as they were coming into this battle with such high expectations, this would have been a significant blow to the Luftwaffe and a stern wake up call to their commanders. However, Britain too was suffering, it was the loss of trained pilots that was crippling the RAF, and the real battle had yet to begin. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. In the front sat his mom, dark haired and green eyed, and his dad, wearing a faded jacket and a look of desperation. It was Sunday in November. Normally, Alexander would be at the park playing baseball with his friends or at the library. Today was different. A family trip, his mom had told him. But something seemed odd. Maybe it was the way his parents were barely glancing him, the way they seemed to have something to hide. Alexander s mom had said that they would be back at their Albuquerque home before the day finished. They had been driving for [number of] hours. It was evening. The car stopped at an old farm. In the middle lay a rotting barn that had once been light blue. Paint peeled. Rusted tractor parts and equipment were scattered across the lawn. To the right lay deep green woods. Dirt road stretched to the left. The farm looked utterly deserted. Were here, grunted Alexander s father. Alex s mom marched toward the door of the barn. There was a rusted bell, connected to a pulley and a thick rope. Alex s mom pulled it. The bell rang out, loud and strong. The family waited. They must have looked strange, crowded onto the stoop of an old farm house outside of Santa Fe. Alexander s parents often did strange things. They had little money, and always signed up for odd jobs. Alexander s dad worked as a part time doorman, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
