perceived by the witness . The study served to aid the argument that memory can be altered and
distorted when they subject is presented with new information that is given prior to the event. In order
to test their hypothesis, Loftus Palmer conducted two laboratory experiments; both experiments took
the design of an independent measures. The first experiment consisted of a group of 45 students who
were shown footage of car accidents, following each film questionnaires were answered. The critical
question from this questionnaire was in regards to the speed at which the car was travelling. In this
question the verb used to describe the actions changed, meaning this was the independent variable.
The results of this question varied depending on the verb used. With the highest mean speed being for
the word smashed and the lowest for the verb contacted . The dependent variable in this experiment
was the estimated mean speed.
The second experiment differed in that it had a sample size of 150 students, they were divided into

It did not take me long to coax he, though she only agreed to have a look at the puppies. In my heart I
knew that half the battle was won! That same evening we headed to the pet store. It was lined with
countless aquariums housing a variety of fish. My eyes searched for the dogs but I could see none.
The store manager informed us that they kept them in the other room. They had only one Labrador
puppy available then. I waited patiently while they fetched the puppy. However, my patience soon ran
out and I started wandering around the store. The fish seem to follow my every move; it was as if they
could sense my eagerness.
In a few minutes a man emerged from the other room with the most adorable little wonder of nature

like eyes. In the instant that our eyes met, I could see the joy and exhilaration in them. As soon as the
man set him down, the puppy ran towards us stumbling on the sleek floor. He started jumping around
with joy while I patted him. The way he bounced around made him seem more like a little bunny than
a puppy. The little pup had succeeded in winning over mom s heart. I was jumping with joy when I
heard her discussing the paperwork with the manager.

Burmese pythons are an invading species that are causing problems to the local animal population, the
local ecosystems, and the people in the area of Florida s Everglades. These snakes are one of the
biggest snakes in the world and grow up to be twenty three feet long and weigh up to two hundred
pounds. They are able to hunt in the dark due to the chemical receptors on their tongues and heat
sensors all over their jaw. This is bad for humans, as we cannot see very well in the dark. This can
cause the snake to see us, but us not be able to see them. Without natural predators, these animals are
lean, mean killing machines that can destroy many populations of animals and stand as a threat to
humans.
An invasive species is a species that comes out of its natural environment, and enters another. These
animals are usually very bad for the ecosystem and may cause an unbalance. These animals usually
come in with many competitive advantages and can easily dominate any competition. This will give
them the ability to eat as much as they would like without being threatened in any way. This could
possibly diminish many populations and end an entire ecosystem.
