Sylvia Plath s Poem Daddy Essay
Sylvia Plath s Poem Daddy
Overbearing fathers who dominant their children s lives dispose of comfort and security and instead
cause irreversible damage. Sylvia Plath writes about her own experiences dealing with her
authoritarian father in Daddy. In this poem, Plath utilizes literary devices like allusion, child like
diction, and dualistic organization to communicate her bitterness in this theme of resentment and
scorn.
Plath s usage of allusion calls the reader to bring their own knowledge to the poem. She uses this
device so that the reader can recall information without Plath needing to fully state the scenario. One
of the first allusions which Plath uses is in the first stanza when she writes black shoe in which I ...

Through allusions, Plath evokes many emotions, symbols, and preconceptions like a cold father and
suffering in World War I without actually stating them specifically.
In addition to allusions to further her theme, Plath employs simple diction to reveal how deep the pain
runs. When people suffer from a traumatic experience, they often go into regression and revert back to
a childish state, which is what Plath communicates through her basic word choices. For example, the
title of the poem, Daddy, a word which is used affectionately towards a father, uncovers her desperate
need for love from this important figure. The repetition of the word throughout the piece stresses this
idea further. Also, she uses Achoo in the first stanza and later writes your gobbledygoo which shows
an infantile approach to her father s damage. This also discloses the lack of understanding of her father
and how he kept her at a distance from his world. Lastly, she mentions how he stand[s] at the
blackboard, an object which is very familiar to children and which gives an image of him as a ruler or
supervisor rather than a source of compassion. Through her employment of child like diction, Plath
conveys her reversion to childhood and feelings of insignificance when thinking of her father.

Protocol (LDAP), is an application convention for perusing and altering registries over an IP system
(Michelle Christian, 2007). It is a standard innovation for system registries. Michelle Christian (2007)
declared that Network catalos are particular databases that store data about gadgets, applications,
individuals and different parts of a PC system. It is not restricted to contact data or data about
individuals. It is fitting for any sort of index like data where quick lookups and less successive
redesigns exist. Donnelly (2008) uncovered that LDAP was made in 1995 as a scholastic college task,
and afterward popularized by Netscape in the late 1990 s. It is discovering much acknowledgment due
to its status as an Internet standard. It can likewise be tweaked to store any kind of content or twofold
information. Note that it is not a registry yet a convention. Donnelly (2008) further clarified that
LDAP arranges data in a various levelled way utilizing indexes. These indexes can store an assortment
of data and can even be utilized like a System Information Service (NIS). NIS empowers anybody to
get to their record from any machine on the LDAP empowered system. Much of the time, LDAP can
be utilized additionally, as a virtual telephone index, permitting clients to effortlessly access contact
data of different clients. Be that as it may, it is more adaptable than a telephone index. This

Number Two Effect
Number one was one that had a lot of emotional impact that was taking place throughout the duration
of the song. It expressed a tone color that was orange and very intense. There was a lot of conflict that
was taking place between Ruth and Fredrick during this time. The melody showed pitches that made
up the different parts of the song. For example, both Ruth and Fredrick take turns on who takes the
melody of the song depending on who is dominant at certain points of the song. Fredrick is more
dominant and the beginning and then Ruth takes the attention later on. Harmony took place as Ruth
and Fredrick are singing different parts at the same time and the tones are sounding simultaneously.
With this, at the intense parts there are dissonances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a tone color of purple because it was very shocking what was being said, but the paradox
part got very upbeat. This part of the story was very surprising and something that I was no expecting.
The melody that was used in number two was used by expressing different pitches. This in relation
into which one of the character was singing at the time. During the duration of this song, the
performers were the Pirate King, Frederick, and Ruth. In coalition to this, the harmony are the sounds
that were sounding simultaneously and throughout this song, the performers would sing together.
There were also times were Ruth was in more of the background which was used to create a different
melody. They also used rhythms that are known throughout the song. For example, at one point it
sounds like a circus theme song. This is used to show how this scene is intended to be one where there
is humor expressed. They are laughing and enjoying the time because Frederick is finding out that
because he was born on Leap Year he is actually only five years old. The meter that was used in song
number two was one that fluctuated depending on what the song was saying. There was no set meter
that it was focused on being. For this song, the texture is also polyphonic because they are singing the
part about paradox at the same time and it shares importance with one another. The dynamics are used
in this song when the crescendos are placed to

Work related stress develops because a person is unable to cope with the demands being placed on
them. Stress, including work related stress, can be a significant cause of illness and is known to be
linked with high levels of sickness absence, staff turnover and other issues such as more errors. There
is a difference between pressure and stress. Pressure can be positive and a motivating factor, and is
often essential in a job. It can help us achieve our goals and perform better. Stress occurs when this
pressure becomes excessive. A person experiences stress when they perceive that the demands of their
work are greater than their ability to cope. Coping means balancing the demands and pressures placed
on you (i.e. the job requirements) with your skills and knowledge (i.e. your capabilities). For example,
if you give a member of your team a tight deadline on a project they feel they have neither the skills
nor ability to do well, they may begin to feel undue pressure which could result in work related stress.
Stress can also result from having too few demands, as people will become bored, feel undervalued
and lack recognition. If they feel they have little or no say over the work they do or how they do it,
this may cause them stress. Stress affects people in different ways and what one person finds stressful
can be normal to another. With each new situation a person will decide what

The significance of Garmin Vivofit 3 is the combination of waterproof and disposable coin battery.
Since users can wear the Vivofit 3 even in the shower and don t need to take it off to charge, they can
wear it all the time in one year, which means users will not miss out any activities (such as steps) or
lose the band when they take it off. The reason why I think it s significant is that I had a Fitbit band. It
s not waterproof, so I need to take it off every day before shower. Also, I need to take if off and
recharge it every few days. The problem was, the Fitbit band is really difficult to snap on. I only used

Abstract This case study is about analyzing the Whistler Corporation business issues. The Whistler
Corporation at some point had to make a very important business decision. The decision was about if
the company should continue manufacturing operations in the US or not. The company had experience
some serious problems with the domestic production in the US, where competing with companies that
had their supplies imported from the east Asia become impossible. The Whistler Corporation hired a
consulting company to solve these issues and also to help with manufacturing process. The
corporation management had to make big ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1986, the companies profit started to decrease drastically. The Whistler corp. loss more than
$500,000 per month. It was the time to do something radical to recover the company and to turn it
back to the top of the market.
In that period Charles Stott was on the head of Whistler corp. To save the companies future he put in
action three alternatives. Firstly, he focused on the the whole reconstruction of the biggest problem in
company, the production process, such as control of inventory process, but many other things had to
be reconstructed in order to achieve these goals such as new inventory process, products with the
bigger quality, better functionality of processing, and usage of the plant had to be more organized.
Secondly, the company would have to hire an affordable supplier of their radar detectors, which will
improve the relationship with company and external suppliers, usage of the both plants and lower
price. The third alternative and the last one was closing the doors of both plant, and making a big
change on the production district by moving the whole production process to an off shore location,
that would not be easy to apply, but it would crucially decrease the cost of production process. The
issues with the market competition, and foreign suppliers, in this case east Asia market didn t only
reflected only on the Whistler Corporation, it reflected on many other companies in manufacturing
market, they also had issues and had to

City of Thieves by David Bienoff
City of Thieves starts off with Lev Beniov sitting atop his roof, on a firefighting detail, under the
German siege of Leningrad in Kirov, Russia. As he sits on top of his building s roof with his friends
Vera Osiponva, and the Antokolsky twins they listen to anti aircraft fire, and they see a paratrooper
falling to the ground. The group hops the Kirov gate, and runs towards the paratrooper s landing sight,
realizing he is drifting to the ground dead. They began looting his body, and as Lev got a German
knife from the man, the GAZ turned on Voinova Street, and they had to run. While running back to
Kirov, Vera slipped, and Lev had to go and get her. As he helped her over the fence, the GAZ grabbed
him. Since it was after curfew, he believed execution was inevitable. He was taken to Piter s prison
called the Crosses with no light or sound. Soon, a Russian officer named Kolya was thrown in the cell
with him. In the morning, the two prisoners were taken to a mansion with NKVD officers in it. The
Colonel had a mission for the prisoners. He took their ration cards, and told Kolya and Lev they had
until Thursday to get one dozen eggs. On that Saturday morning, Kolya and Lev had left their lives on
the line for a dozen eggs. The middle of this novel begins when Kolya tells Lev that they should try
looking in the Haymarket for any eggs. They searched through the Haymarket, and they find nothing.
As they reach the end of their search, a boy tells them of a man who keeps a coop of

The Goal Of The Anger Principle
The goal of the Anger Principle is to rationalize why an individual is angry and calculate the extent of
their anger within a situation. When trying to decipher whether someone is angry, I look for a few key
indicators, such as antisocial body language and aggressive verbal language. Antisocial body language
includes pacing, rubbing your head, cupping your fist with your other hand, shaking or trembling,
clenching your jaws or grinding your teeth, and sweating, especially of the palms. Aggressive verbal
language includes getting sarcastic, losing your sense of humor, raising your voice, speaking
abrasively, and beginning to yell, scream, or cry. Many of these signs were present in my various
cases. Incidentally, case one is interesting because feelings of anger weren t associated with this
decision until 3 years later. Now, whenever I am reminded, I begin to clench my jaw and rub my head.
Also, I m not very likely to speak when I am angry, but when I do I am sarcastic and without a sense
of humor, i.e., I ll say I was such a smart kid, of course, skateboards can take you everywhere. If
anyone else attempts to make a joke about my situation, I d blankly stared at them, conveying my
anger by rejecting humor about the situation. As for case five, my friend is a big fan of the former vice
present, Joe Biden. So, when she told me about how she felt after receiving her grade, she reported
that she was sweating, shaking, and cupping her first with her other hand. Even as she

Homemade Is The New Organic By Rachel Jones For The Atlantic
Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an importance of caring about
what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals over processed food. Home Cooking is not
just healthier, but also it has tons of benefits. Simple examples are saving money, controlling body
weight and avoiding food poisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by Rachel Jones for the
Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cooking at home. In her article, she explained how
cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family which has low income had no choice
but to use homemade food. Today, however, meaning of homemade food changes. People start to
appreciate the goodness of cooking at home and intentionally choose the homemade. Moreover, she
mentioned that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we have all the necessary tools
and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general
public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. In my opinion, Rachel successfully
achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint.
First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the audience.
In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more persuading. In the
beginning of the article, she acknowledges her personal facts to demonstrate her idea. For example,

Realism In Angels And Demons
The opposing sides of good and evil, religion and science, power and intelligence, and knowledge and
ignorance have been battling for centuries. Loyal and faithful believers aid both halves and have
affected the world we live in today. Dan Brown is a renowned author who has penned many books in
his Robert Langdon series that explore these conflicts. The first book, Angels and Demons, focuses on
the clashes of the Catholic Church and scientific institutions around the world. In it, Robert Langdon
must find a bomb planted in Vatican City by a science advocate before it goes off, annihilating the
Pope, his cardinals, and the entire Catholic Church. However, Brown s fourth book, Inferno, examines
the problem of overpopulation while analyzing Dante s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, these two books are contrasting in the strength of their endings, by whether or not Robert
Langdon is able to save the world, how closely the fictional world resembles ours, and if the
antagonist receives any punishment. These three techniques affect how the reader feels after finishing
the novel, whether it concerns Robert Langdon on his quest to dismantle the bomb hidden in Vatican
City in Angels and Demons, or watching him race through Italy as he attempts to contain the world s
deadliest plague in Inferno. Both of these books question the truth in religion and science, two strong
opposing forces that cannot peacefully coexist. Dan Brown challenges us to choose a side. Do we

The Tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School
I remember exactly where I was when I heard about the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook
Elementary School. I was walking through the common room and the TV was turned on to a news
station that was reporting what was happening at the school. I remember not being the only one who
was clearly upset at what occurred. There were also other students gathering around the TV watching
the TV waiting for updates and talking about what had happened. When I heard that Kaitlin Roig was
going to speak at Westfield I knew I had to go to hear her speak. I had to hear her speak because I
wanted to not only hear about her experience but I also knew that she would give helpful advice about
being a teacher. I want to be a teacher and I knew that I could use all the advice I could get not only
about how to be an excellent teacher but also about how the experience that her and many others went
through had an impact on their lives. As a result, I went to see her speak and I will never forget the
presentation that she gave to the Westfield community. I learned a lot from her presentation and there
were many things she said that were important to me. In addition, she taught the community about
how important empathy and social skills are in shaping the world. There were many topics that Mrs.
Roig talked about that meant a lot to me. The first thing that she said that was important to me was
that a teacher should be someone who makes a positive difference in the lives of his/her students

Investigating The Performance And Financial Position Of An...
A Reporting Entity as per SAC 1(para 40) means, an entity which, regardless of any sector, has
stakeholders who rely on the general purpose financial reports, evaluate the performance and financial
position of an entity and make decisions regarding allocation of resources. Hence, an entity will be
called as an reporting entity, if there are users who would rely on the analysis provided by the GPFR.

SAC 1 Paras 19 22 broadines the factors to identify whether there are dependent users. Factors

Separation of Management from economic interest The higher is the spread of ownership = higher is

The World War I Was A Crisis Caused By Imperialism,...
First World War was definitely a crisis caused by imperialism, nationalism, as well as other things.
Between the fighting over government types and the push to colonize every nation that was not under
one of the European nations already, it is no wonder war broke out. Each of these causes directly or
indirectly led to the powder keg which set off one of the most massive, expensive wars the world had
ever seen up until that point. It was the greed and nationalism that set off this war and these ideas that
fueled it for years to follow. The First cause of this Great War starting is each countries new sense of
self. Nationalism and pride are key contributors to this war. Nationalism is the sense of pride a citizen
has for their country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labor was used for this statement in order to tell the citizens it will take a lot of hard work from the
craftsmen to make their nation strong. Lastly franchise was used in order to create a stronger economy
for the nation. While national pride can sometimes lead to a stronger more unified nation, there is the
backroom objective of readying for war. Germany was unified by blood and iron in the Prussian wars
before Germany was one nation. The Prussia war campaign against Denmark, Austria, and France led
to the creation of the German Empire. After each victory against these countries the German Empire
gained more and more territories and continuously expanded. The idea of nationalism was not only
used to fuel these wars, but also afterwards in creating a limited government. In fueling these wars, the
citizens were promised that a unified German Empire will lead to prosperity and peace. They were
only too happy to go on the offensive and try and claim new lands in the name of their great nation.
Once they had conquered these lands and claimed a small piece as a prize, they set up Kaiser Wilhelm
as the Emperor on July 18, 1871. After this the Reichstag was formed as the limited government with
the illusion that they could make a difference. In truth, Kaiser Wilhelm would shoot down any bill he
seemed to disagree with. Also they all reported to Wilhelm and could easily be fired for causing too

Cufee Industry Analysis
Chemistry Assessment Task 2
Identify the metal ore from which copper is extracted.
Copper is extracted from chalcopyrite ore, its chemical formula is CuFeS2. Chalcopyrite is a brass
yellow mineral with a chemical composition of CuFeS2. Most sulfide mineral deposits in Australia
contain chalcopyrite ore and has been the most valued ore of copper for thousands of years.
Describe the mining and extraction process of commercial copper ore deposits
Copper can be extracted from the chalcopyrite ore by:
1. Traditional mining
2. Leaching.
Traditional mining involves the sinking of a vertical shaft into the Earth to an appropriate depth. Then
the shafts are driven into horizontal tunnels into the chalcopyrite ore. There is an open pit, as seen in

To meet the growing demand for copper in Australia, mining is necessary but there is still a huge
supply of recycled copper, as it plays a vital part in the conservation of the supply of chalcopyrite ore,
which reduces energy consumption, decreases waste disposal, and conserves the environment. It is
estimated that such recycling supplies 50% of copper used in the Australian copper industry. In 2010,
it was reported that 770,000 metric tons of copper were recycled, at an estimated value of nearly six
billion Australian dollars. First, the copper has to be reduced to a reusable form through baling. This
form differs depending on the use of the copper. When the copper has gone through a process reducing
it to a reusable form for industry, the final process is to transport the recycled copper to a smelter
where it goes through melting, and is eventually smoothed into flat sheets for new industry

My Experience At Panera Bread
Life teaches us lessons every day. Sometimes when we are in the midsts of frustration or confusion we
never see clearly or understand the lesson from the situations we are put in. It is only through
moments of reflection when a person can begin to see how certain situations have shaped their way of
thinking or doing things. For a little over half a year, I worked a part time job during my senior year of
high school at Panera Bread. During my time there i was able to observe and see all kinds of different
family dynamics and people walk through the door every day. It was strange, it was different, and it
was amazing all at the same time to see all of those different walks of life. A favorite memory of mine
there that I will never forget occurred on Super Bowl Sunday night. Looking back on my experience
from that frustrating night, I find that i learned the value of teamwork, work relationships, and I
learned how the most unpleasant situations can turn into great unexpected surprises. To start at the
very beginning, I have always had this certain manager that i could never really get along with

Courage In Finding Forrester
Having courage to accomplish a new task may not only be extremely difficult for most, but also
harder for one to apply that courage to go out of their way to an unfamiliar place. In the movie Finding
Forrester, both of the main characters, Forrester and Jamal, portray the idea of courage throughout the
entire movie. Finding Forrester is a classic movie about a forgotten author, Forrester, and a teenager,
Jamal, with a hidden dream. Jamal and Forrester create a special bond between the two of them
through their love of writing. This bond between the two allows for each of them to gain courage.
Through this courage, Jamal is able to share his dream with his peers and Forrester is able to

Since Forrester gained a new sense of courage from his friendship with Jamal, it enables him to go to
professor Crawfords classroom and to stand up for Jamal. Jamal is accused of plagiarizing a paper that
he wrote for Crawford s class, but the catch behind is that the beginning of the paper is actually
Forrester s work. This accusation on Jamal creates a new conflict not only for Jamal, but also for
Forrester. Jamals conflict is to either break his promise with Forrester or risk being accused of
cheating. For Forrester, his obstacle is to either overcome his fear or let Jamal suffer from his mistake.
Forrester builds up his courage and goes to read one of Jamal s writings to the class, and prove that he
did not actually plagiarize. Since Forrester secluded himself from all of society because of his self
guilt, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to go out into an unfamiliar place, especially to a
classroom with a professor who attempted to tear him down by criticizing Forrester.Movielocity
(2000) stated, It comes down to a moment of truth for both men; for Jamal, a choice between
following his dream or betraying a friend, and for Forrester, a decision to remain closed off or to look

Barbaric Death Penalty
Coretta Scott King once stated, An evil deed is not redeemed by an evil deed of retaliation. Justice is
never advanced in the taking of a human life. Morality is never upheld by a legalized murder . This
quote demonstrates how taking a person s life because they took someone else s does not justify the
crime. For multiple centuries the death penalty was used as a way to execute criminals who have been
convicted of capital offenses. Sixty four% of the United States still use capital punishment while the
other 36% have abolished it because they felt it was a cruel and unusual punishment. This topic
controversial due to advocates who believe it is a deterrence and opponents who believe that it is
barbaric. The death penalty should be banned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The death penalty is hypocritical and sends a false message to society by using continuing to use this
type of punishment. Just because a criminal killed or committed murder does not make it right for
them to execute the person. The U.S. Constitution s Eight Amendment contains just sixteen words:
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments
inflicted. (Bessler 193) According to Jane Doe, board of director for ending Utah s death penalty, she
believes that all current methods of execution are unconstitutional and should be revoked immediately.
Capital punishment will always be known as heartless form of consequence until it is

Presidents Of Washington And Lincoln
Every four years, for decades and decades, U.S. citizens have been faced with the challenge of
deciding which presidential candidate they ll vote for. Sometimes presidents with severe deficiencies
in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the ability to tackle the
problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also been some presidents
who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal president to many people.
Washington and Lincoln are two of these presidents, who exemplified many admirable qualities as
leaders.
This year, voters will again have to choose who they think would be the most qualified candidate. But
before this can be determined, it has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and power
that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the good of the
country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example. He was already
a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of president. In his
inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never
hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection,
and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years...
(Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task of being president.
It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major
undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should
have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president
should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do
things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain
the respect of the people.
The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and policies
of the country,

Heart Murmur Research Paper
Heart Murmurs
Definition
A heart murmur is an abnormal, extra sound during the heartbeat cycle made by blood moving through
the heart and its valves. It is detected by the physician s examination using a stethoscope.
Description
A heart which is beating normal makes two sounds, lubb when the valves between the atria and
ventricles close, and dupp when the valves between the ventricles and the major arteries close. A heart
murmur is a series of vibratory sounds made by turbulent blood flow. The sounds are longer than
normal heart sounds and can be heard between the normal sounds of the heart.
Heart murmurs are common in children and can also result from heart or valve defects. Nearly two
thirds of heart murmurs in children are produced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Innocent heart murmurs and those which do not impair the function of the heart have no symptoms.
Murmurs that are due to severe abnormalities of a heart valve may cause shortness of breath,
dizziness, chest pains, palpitations, and lung congestion.
Diagnosis
Heart murmurs can be heard when a physician listens to the heart through a stethoscope during a
regular check up. Very loud heart murmurs and those with clicks or extra heart sounds should be
evaluated further. Infants with heart murmurs who do not thrive, eat, or breath properly and older
children who lose consciousness suddenly or are intolerant to exercise should also be evaluated. If the
murmur sounds suspicious, the physician may order a chest x ray, an electrocardiogram, and an
echocardiogram.
An electrocardiogram (ECG) shows the heart s activity and may reveal muscle thickening, damage, or
a lack of oxygen. Electrodes covered with conducting jelly are placed on the patient s chest, arms, and
legs. They send impulses of the heart s activity through a monitor (oscilloscope) to a recorder which
traces them on paper. The test takes about 10 minutes and is commonly performed in a physician s
office. An exercise ECG can reveal additional

Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit
Jeanette Winterson s novel Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit when published in 1985 as her first novel,
it was unanimously regarded as a realistic and heavily autobiographical comedy of coming out
(Onega) in which the narrative structure employs elements derived from the Bildungsroman tradition
expression of the heroine s quest for individuation, as much as a feminist gesture of self assertion,
deployed in a hostile Pentecostal Evangelist environment. The story of young Jeanette, the character,
clearly echoes the author s own story: the protagonist falls in love with another girl, and has to fight
her emotional way through the coercive norms of her religious community in the North of England.
The novel was read in the light of the emerging

Comparing The Desktop And Other Computer Systems
Comparing the Desktop with other computer systems
Advantages
Top of the range desktops have more power than laptops, micro computers, mobile devices and all in
One PCs.
To start off, desktops can contain much more hardware than a mobile device or microcomputer and
AIO PCs, the outcome of being able to store so many components is the result of fitting high quality
parts that are more power immense in the computing industry so desktops beat small devices on
meeting possibilities.
The desktop has the extra benefit of being extremely customisable to adapt to the user and
environmental challenges
Extending from previous points, the desktop can surpass other systems in terms of using components
that can be located swiftly whilst being changeable in order for a client to upgrade, this is ideal in the
industry for those that want to commission their system for a preferable experience.
Disadvantages
Highly bulky compared with the other mobile, all in one and micro systems
On the other hand, due to the occupation of desktops for retention of more dynamic components that
are heavy, the weight builds up to create a computer device that is forced to be in one space
involuntary for usage on the go in comparison to mobile devices.
Need a big space
Furthermore, the last disadvantage is users have an insufficient device for versatility, clients would
have to make additional purchases of a big platform and chair to use or support the technology so that
it is strenuous to breakage whilst

The Devonian Era
The Devonian period initiating approximately 416 Mya and culminating 359 Mya represents a
geologic time period, which characterizes a major part of the Paleozoic Era. Traversing between the
Silurian period (444 416 Mya), and Carboniferous period (359 299 Mya) the Devonian period

In the early Devonian period, also known as the Lochkovian, Pragian and Emsian epoch, due to
substantial tectonic activity, resulted in the convergence of numerous continental land masses, forming
into two supercontinents known as Euramerica and Gondwana. Both these supercontinents assembled

eastern North America. The formation started in the early Devonian period, however reached its
pinnacle during the mid to late Devonian period. As a result of the newly formed mountain range,

Another difference is majority of abuser are men and the abused will be a women. Screening any type
of jealousy, control, and manipulations will set the abuser apart from the abused. An individual who is
abused will have characteristics of insecurities, low self esteem, trust issues, and withdrawn
symptoms. This can happen from the effects of mental or physical abuse.
Screening a child for abuse or neglect can be difficult at times because the child is not fully
development to understand what is wrong and right especially when the abuser is a family member the
child trust. Screening a child can takes months sometimes to fully understand the characteristics that
are shown. Examples of the patterns are; not able to show affection, having continuous nightmares,
fear of touch, regression to common childlike behavior, and fear of individuals and environments. The
characteristics of an abuse child or neglected are; withdrawn symptoms, violent, depressed, and
fearful. These characteristics have to be evaluating carefully to ensure there is not a disability that the
child is suffering or the child just wants to be defiant. When child maltreatment is suspected, going

Caesar and Cleopatra
The meeting of Cleopatra with Caesar was sudden and unexpected. During 48 B.C., a civil war broke
out in Rome between Caesar and Pompey (a military General of Rome). After series of attacks,
Pompey was forced to leave to Alexandria hoping for the support of Ptolemy XIII. Instead, he was
killed by Ptolemy XIII and his head was presented to Caesar when he arrived there.
At the meanwhile, the conflicts between Cleopatra and Ptolemy XIII became worse. Ptolemy XIII
hoped that he could win the throne (According to the will of Ptolemy XII, both of the heirs should
distribute their power) and barred his relations with Caesar. Cleopatra sensed this and was able to
present her case to him. Impressed by her keen intelligence and beauty, eventually, he fell in love with
her and a child was born named Caesarion.
With the support of Ptolemaic kingdom, Roman empire became more powerful. With the support of
Caesar, Cleopatra almost grabbed the entire power of Egypt and also declared Caesarion as the

Analysis of Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man Essay
Analysis of Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man
The prologue from The Invisible Man deals with many issues that were palpable in the 1950s, and that
unfortunately are still being dealt with today. An African American man who refers to himself as the
invisible man goes through life without being truly noticed as a person. He states that because of his
skin color he is only looked down upon, if he is ever noticed at all. The invisible man goes through
life living in a closed down part of a basement that no one knows exists and he anonymously steals all
of the power that he needs from the Monopolated Light Power Company. Ralph Ellison successfully

This was to show that Ellison and every American was just that, American. Everyone is a citizen no
matter creed or color. The purpose of the essay was to open the publics eyes to the unjust treatment of
minorities of that time. Ellison clearly established to his audience that racism was not going away and
that facing the problem head on would be the only was to fix the problem at hand.
This essay also used a pathetic appeal to sway the reader. Ellison wrote descriptively about the events
that made the invisible man who he was. All of the examples were extraordinarily evocative in
depicting the way the invisible man made it through life. From the paradigm of the invisible man and
his encounter with the blond man, to the portrayal of the former slave woman, Ellison captivated the
audience. I kicked him repeatedly, in a frenzy because he still uttered insults though his lips were
frothy with blood , illustrates the invisible mans hate toward the blond man who offended him first.
This dramatic recourse pales in comparison to the account of the former slave woman. When recalling
a dream the invisible man recites a tale of a woman who loved her former master even though he
would not free her or her children that her master fathered. This depiction pulls at the heart strings
when the woman sobs after being asked about freedom, and she knows that she will never be able to
taste it. Overall the representations are powerful and

Morals And Ideas Of Characters In The Great Gatsby
The morals and ethics of the characters in the Great Gatsby are twisted.Their ideas of morals and
ethics are very selfish and apply to their wants and needs. Fitzgerald creates characters that have very
different ways of thinking but, in a way, the same. They all have their own twisted ways of
lying,cheating, and being manipulative.
The ethics and morals of the characters in the Great Gatsby were very weak. For example when Tom
found out daisy was having an affair he was very hypocritical towards her even though he was having
an affair with myrtle.People who have good ethics and morals first off don t cheat or have affairs
behind their significant others back. Then when tom gets mad and hypocritical about the situation it
gos to show just how untruthful he is and how he can t own up to what he s doing as well. When Tom
has is other mistress calling the house it shows he has no respect for Daisy, that he only cares about
himself.A person with strong ethics and morals has respects for others and shows that respect for them
whether they are with them or not.Tom is doing things behind Daisy s back and even treating her like
garbage to her face and people notice that.
The characters in the Great Gatsby really don t have ethics and morals. There constantly
lying, cheating, or doing something to hurt on another, it s very dramatic .Tom cheats on Daisy,Jordans
a liar,Gatsby lies about his life, etc.If they really did have ethics and morals they wouldn t be getting

The Age Of New Imperialism
The Age of New Imperialism in Britain was a time of prosperity and total domination. Compared to
previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power,
Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late 19th
century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements to the
country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a whole, had
to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading scientists
decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist ideologies at the
root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during the 19th century.
This paper will discuss some of the most influential sciences produced during the late 19th century,
including social Darwinism, eugenics, and phrenology, that were used to justify British Imperialism
and how they supported imperialism.
White is the supreme race, non White people are inferior, White people are the ones with all the
achievements in the world these ideologies and theories, though formally constructed in the late
1800s, were created from discussions long before. The idea of race superiority has existed since the
15th and 16th centuries, early days of African slavery, but at that time it was supported by religion and
God. In the early 16th century, a Swiss

The Gods Of The Ancient World
Some of the Goddesses of the Ancient World
The goddesses named in this chapter occur in the midst of the earliest pagan deities mentioned in
numerous ancient writings; particularly, the ones frequently linked to the land of Canaan. In fact,
several of the goddesses that promoted idolatry and prostitution exist directly in the King James
Version of the Bible, such as Ashtoreth, Diana and Lilith. Although, the word prostitute exists only
once (Lev 19:29), still, prostitution happens to be identified with various words; such as whore(s),

For due to the goddess, routinely unmarried women, including those from the chief families in the

Herodotus describes this ancient practice that exploited women sexually, stating:
Emphatically, due to the goddesses, women and young girls required to have their virginity callously
stolen away how sick is that? Indeed, the paint brush of this practice appears to be broad among the
fertility goddesses, for this domination became witnessed repeatedly in various lands; instigating
unwanted pregnancy. Generally, the most vulnerable time in a female s life occurs generally during
pregnancy or the rearing of small children; therefore this reality helped evil cripple women into
submission through the centuries. The following occurs as a brief summary of a few of the main
goddesses in the land of Mesopotamia, the ancient Middle East and surrounding areas.
Lilith
Lilith became intertwined with Ishtar and Inanna in Babylonian as sacred prostitutes, and in the Old
Testament her existence occurs subtly. Furthermore, Lilith became a sexual predator towards men and
dwelled in desolate desert places as stated in the Bible. Along with other demons, Lilith occurs
referenced in the Dead Sea Scrolls that contains an undeniable indication of Lilith s reputation by
being grouped with evil. Virtually, early portrayals of various demons identify with Lilith and became

Its operational capacity was severely limited by runway layout; Stapleton had two parallel north south
runways and two additional parallel east west runways that accommodated only commuter air carriers.
Denver s economy grew and expanded greatly in the early 1980s, consequent to booms in the oil, real

liability that limited the attractiveness of the region to the many businesses that were flocking to it.
Delays had become chronic. Neither the north south nor east west parallel runways had sufficient
lateral separation to accommodate simultaneous parallel arrival streams during poor weather
conditions when instrument flight rules were in effect. This lack of runway separation and the layout
of Stapleton s taxiways tended to cause delays during high traffic periods, even when weather
conditions were good. Denver s geographic location and the growing size of its population and
commerce made it an attractive location for airline hubbing operations. At one point, Stapleton had

Virgin Of The Rocks Essay
Featured in this gallery are the two versions of The Virgin of the Rocks (also known as The Madonna

the Virgin of the Rocks. The Virgin has been placed in the center of the composition dressed in a blue
garment. By having the Virgin as the focal

Working successfully with others requires practical as well as personal skills. One of the main
advantages of working with others is that you can benefit from the skills of others that you may not
have yourself and share your own skills, and discovering your talents. For example, Sierra has lots of
good ideas and is good at putting them together. Sam is talkative and good at gathering ideas. Jacob is
a good listener and able to summarize at the end of a meeting.
Transition:
Now that you know a little about being able to work together,
let s look at coming up with better thoughts than an individual will come up with.

Sylvia Plath writes about her own experiences dealing with her authoritarian father in Daddy. In this poem, Plath utilizes literary devices like allusion, child like diction, and dualistic organization to communicate her bitterness in this theme of resentment and scorn. Plath s usage of allusion calls the reader to bring their own knowledge to the poem. She uses this device so that the reader can recall information without Plath needing to fully state the scenario. One of the first allusions which Plath uses is in the first stanza when she writes black shoe in which I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through allusions, Plath evokes many emotions, symbols, and preconceptions like a cold father and suffering in World War I without actually stating them specifically. In addition to allusions to further her theme, Plath employs simple diction to reveal how deep the pain runs. When people suffer from a traumatic experience, they often go into regression and revert back to a childish state, which is what Plath communicates through her basic word choices. For example, the title of the poem, Daddy, a word which is used affectionately towards a father, uncovers her desperate need for love from this important figure. The repetition of the word throughout the piece stresses this idea further. Also, she uses Achoo in the first stanza and later writes your gobbledygoo which shows an infantile approach to her father s damage. This also discloses the lack of understanding of her father and how he kept her at a distance from his world. Lastly, she mentions how he stand[s] at the blackboard, an object which is very familiar to children and which gives an image of him as a ruler or supervisor rather than a source of compassion. Through her employment of child like diction, Plath conveys her reversion to childhood and feelings of insignificance when thinking of her father. Though the majority of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Work related stress develops because a person is unable to cope with the demands being placed on them. Stress, including work related stress, can be a significant cause of illness and is known to be linked with high levels of sickness absence, staff turnover and other issues such as more errors. There is a difference between pressure and stress. Pressure can be positive and a motivating factor, and is often essential in a job. It can help us achieve our goals and perform better. Stress occurs when this pressure becomes excessive. A person experiences stress when they perceive that the demands of their work are greater than their ability to cope. Coping means balancing the demands and pressures placed on you (i.e. the job requirements) with your skills and knowledge (i.e. your capabilities). For example, if you give a member of your team a tight deadline on a project they feel they have neither the skills nor ability to do well, they may begin to feel undue pressure which could result in work related stress. Stress can also result from having too few demands, as people will become bored, feel undervalued and lack recognition. If they feel they have little or no say over the work they do or how they do it, this may cause them stress. Stress affects people in different ways and what one person finds stressful can be normal to another. With each new situation a person will decide what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was the time to do something radical to recover the company and to turn it back to the top of the market. In that period Charles Stott was on the head of Whistler corp. To save the companies future he put in action three alternatives. Firstly, he focused on the the whole reconstruction of the biggest problem in company, the production process, such as control of inventory process, but many other things had to be reconstructed in order to achieve these goals such as new inventory process, products with the bigger quality, better functionality of processing, and usage of the plant had to be more organized. Secondly, the company would have to hire an affordable supplier of their radar detectors, which will improve the relationship with company and external suppliers, usage of the both plants and lower price. The third alternative and the last one was closing the doors of both plant, and making a big change on the production district by moving the whole production process to an off shore location, that would not be easy to apply, but it would crucially decrease the cost of production process. The issues with the market competition, and foreign suppliers, in this case east Asia market didn t only reflected only on the Whistler Corporation, it reflected on many other companies in manufacturing market, they also had issues and had to ... As he sits on top of his building s roof with his friends Vera Osiponva, and the Antokolsky twins they listen to anti aircraft fire, and they see a paratrooper falling to the ground. The group hops the Kirov gate, and runs towards the paratrooper s landing sight, realizing he is drifting to the ground dead. They began looting his body, and as Lev got a German knife from the man, the GAZ turned on Voinova Street, and they had to run. While running back to Kirov, Vera slipped, and Lev had to go and get her. As he helped her over the fence, the GAZ grabbed him. Since it was after curfew, he believed execution was inevitable. He was taken to Piter s prison called the Crosses with no light or sound. Soon, a Russian officer named Kolya was thrown in the cell with him. In the morning, the two prisoners were taken to a mansion with NKVD officers in it. The Colonel had a mission for the prisoners. He took their ration cards, and told Kolya and Lev they had until Thursday to get one dozen eggs. On that Saturday morning, Kolya and Lev had left their lives on the line for a dozen eggs. • 13. The Goal Of The Anger Principle The goal of the Anger Principle is to rationalize why an individual is angry and calculate the extent of their anger within a situation. When trying to decipher whether someone is angry, I look for a few key indicators, such as antisocial body language and aggressive verbal language. Antisocial body language includes pacing, rubbing your head, cupping your fist with your other hand, shaking or trembling, clenching your jaws or grinding your teeth, and sweating, especially of the palms. Aggressive verbal language includes getting sarcastic, losing your sense of humor, raising your voice, speaking abrasively, and beginning to yell, scream, or cry. Many of these signs were present in my various cases. Incidentally, case one is interesting because feelings of anger weren t associated with this decision until 3 years later. Now, whenever I am reminded, I begin to clench my jaw and rub my head. Also, I m not very likely to speak when I am angry, but when I do I am sarcastic and without a sense of humor, i.e., I ll say I was such a smart kid, of course, skateboards can take you everywhere. If anyone else attempts to make a joke about my situation, I d blankly stared at them, conveying my anger by rejecting humor about the situation. Since we have all the necessary tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. In my opinion, Rachel successfully achieves her intention with the help of following rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint. First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals to the audience. In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make her article more persuading. Morality is never upheld by a legalized murder . This quote demonstrates how taking a person s life because they took someone else s does not justify the crime. For multiple centuries the death penalty was used as a way to execute criminals who have been convicted of capital offenses. Sometimes presidents with severe deficiencies in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the ability to tackle the problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also been some presidents who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal president to many people. Washington and Lincoln are two of these presidents, who exemplified many admirable qualities as leaders. This year, voters will again have to choose who they think would be the most qualified candidate. But before this can be determined, it has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and power that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the good of the country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example. He was already a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of president. In his inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection, and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years... (Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task of being president. It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain the respect of the people. The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and policies of the country, ... Innocent heart murmurs and those which do not impair the function of the heart have no symptoms. Very loud heart murmurs and those with clicks or extra heart sounds should be evaluated further. Infants with heart murmurs who do not thrive, eat, or breath properly and older children who lose consciousness suddenly or are intolerant to exercise should also be evaluated. If the murmur sounds suspicious, the physician may order a chest x ray, an electrocardiogram, and an echocardiogram. An electrocardiogram (ECG) shows the heart s activity and may reveal muscle thickening, damage, or a lack of oxygen. Electrodes covered with conducting jelly are placed on the patient s chest, arms, and legs. This essay also used a pathetic appeal to sway the reader. Ellison wrote descriptively about the events that made the invisible man who he was. All of the examples were extraordinarily evocative in depicting the way the invisible man made it through life. From the paradigm of the invisible man and his encounter with the blond man, to the portrayal of the former slave woman, Ellison captivated the audience. I kicked him repeatedly, in a frenzy because he still uttered insults though his lips were frothy with blood , illustrates the invisible mans hate toward the blond man who offended him first. This dramatic recourse pales in comparison to the account of the former slave woman. When recalling a dream the invisible man recites a tale of a woman who loved her former master even though he would not free her or her children that her master fathered. Compared to previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power, Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late 19th century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements to the country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a whole, had to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading scientists decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist ideologies at the root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during the 19th century.
