Examples Of Special Lighting In Eternal Sunshine Of The...
Joel s Imaginary Actions: Spotlighting in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
While music always plays a significant part to convey emotions in film, light can be used just as
effectively. The use of a special lighting technique is very noticeable in the memory scenes of
Michel Gondry s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A major part of Eternal Sunshine is spent
inside the protagonist Joel s mind. He is in the process of deleting his memory of Clementine, who
was his girlfriend for two years. Two main lighting styles are used throughout the scenes which play
inside Joel s mind. On one hand, natural bright lighting and on the other hand a darker setting with
only one light source, carrying a strong resemblance of a spotlight (Jason Sperb, ... Show more

However, this time instead of desperately chasing the spotlight he walks towards it in a decidedly
confident manner. Both Joel and Clementine first walk through a house party and end up in
Mierzwiak s clinic. There, Joel starts talking to Mierzwiak who is in turn talking to another
version of Joel. This other version of Joel is part of the memory and does not react to the Joel we
are following around. However, Mierzwiak acknowledges the Joel who enters the memory and
starts talking to him. This whole scene is only lit by one spotlight moving back and forth in a
tracking shot between the three characters. (Eternal Sunshine, 55:59 56:44) It is again, an event
which has not happened in real life, but is just part of Joel s imagination. This could not have
been the way Joel perceives this specific memory, as Sperb called it, as Mierzwiak is saying
things which would not make sense in the real life scenario. Joel is now contacting the memory he
has of Mierzwiak instead of screaming his name out into the void. He is trying out different tactics
and none of them seem to

May 24, 2012
Abstract My paper is written in purpose to cover the issue of the role of women in Islamic culture.
My first part is devoted to the status of women according religious texts of Islam, Quran and Sunna.
The first factor that determines the role of Muslim women is spirituality. In this regard women are

Osman M.F. , a Ph.D. in Islamic law and institutional history from Princeton University, supports
this statement by stressing out that women are not seen as a mere shadow or an extension of a
man, always following him (1993, p.3). He believes that women are free as individuals and are
responsible for their faith and actions under the Islamic law. Hasan Abdul Ghaffar, a scholar of
Hadith and a member of the Islamic Ideological Council in Pakistan, takes the same stand and
concludes: There can thus be no doubt that in the Hereafter, men and women will both be
judged, each individual bearing the burden of its own acts, each soul will be punished for its
transgressions and each will be rewarded for its obedience to Allah (1996, p. 4). As Women s
League points out basing on the Quran, both males and females are supposed to play the role of
vicegerents (1995, Role as Vigerents section), praying to God and living up to his injunctions so
that they can finally get to the paradise: Say: Behold, my prayer, and all my acts of worship, and
my living and my dying are for God alone (Quran, 6:163). Some people may regard that the
vicegerency of a woman should mainly be performed through childbearing. Nevertheless, there is
no division of the vicegerency between sexes in the Quran, moreover, women should not be
disregarded for being infertile or deciding not to have children. As evidence, the prophet
Muhammad had children only from two of his wives, Khadija and

Police Procedural In The Short Story By George Simenon
What classifies a story as a good police procedural? What even makes a story a police
procedural? Along with many other stories in The Longman Anthology of Detective Fiction, the
short story written by georges Simenon portrays a police procedural and contain the attributes
necessary to make the story a police procedural. Inspector maigret deuces by George Simenon
fell in this category as it meets the requirements. The story revolves itself around the killing of
Otto Braun who was a jewish banker. Braun was killed on a train with a needle by one of the
passengers.A police procedural requires the author to focus on realism. The story could ve been
true given how it is written. George Simenon wrote this story as if it actually happened,... Show

A police procedural on the contrary places the detective in the middle of a working police force,
where he or she must abide by the rules and regulations established by the law. This was shown
during the questioning of the suspects on the train. Had it been a freelance detective he would
use threat and force to get the people on the train to speak. The police procedural was conducted
in a formal and lawfull fashion, where Maigret questions the passenger on the train one by one
to get as much info as possible to catch the killer of Braun. Solving the crime in a police
procedural is a matter of teamwork, and the answer to most cases comes from an accumulation of
information. Maigret wasn t alone, in fact he was called at around three in the morning by his
nephew Paul Vinchon to help with the investigation. Maigret and Vinchon worked as one
gathering as much info as possible, finally after much running around they sat down and planned
to catch the murderer who had been denying her guiltiness. Had ipt been just Maigret he could
have figured it out all by himself but that would have taken a while, much longer than it took.
Working as a team allows everyone a different job thus speeding the process. The murders are
usually not cleverly plotted puzzles; they are violent, messy, and committed for any number of
reasons. This murder was very messy, the body wasn t even disposed, it was just left on the train,
the murder weapon was not disposed either. The

The Theme Of Water In Arthur Golden s Memoirs Of A Geisha
From 1920 to present times, geisha numbers in Japan have dwindled from 80,000 to 150. In the
words of Memoirs of a Geisha s film adaptation, [Geisha] sell [their] skills, not [their] bodies...The
very word geisha means artist and to be a geisha is to be judge as a moving work of art. The
differences and similarities between Arthur Golden s Memoirs of a Geishaand its movie adaptation
certainly raise the book in preference over the movie. Chiyo/Sayuri s childhood background, Chiyo
s encounters with the Chairman, and the symbolism of water are all significant details in the story
of Sayuri Nitta.
Chiyo Sakamoto is born in Yoroido, Japan. With her mother sick and her father growing older
every day, she believes Mr. Tanaka is her liberator. Little does she know that, at the tender age of
nine, she is to be ripped from her poor, simple life and sold to an okiya in Gion. And at the age of
fourteen, Chiyo becomes a geisha and is renamed Sayuri Nitta. As described by a client, the idea of

Mameha, Sayuri s big sister, says Waiting patiently doesn t suit you. I can see you have a great
deal of water in your personality. Water never waits. It changes shape and flows around things,
and finds the secret paths no one else has thought about (movie). The water in Chiyo/Sayuri s
personality made her a threat to Hatsumomo, the head geisha in the Nitta okiya before Chiyo
arrived. When Hatsumomo and Sayuri have their final quarrel, Hatsumomo sets the okiya ablaze,
enforcing the impression that Hatsumomo s personality is linked to fire, making her and Chiyo
/Sayuri natural enemies. Mameha describes water as one of the most versatile elements, Water is
powerful. It can wash away earth, put out fire, and even destroy iron (movie). Without the water
element showing itself in her eyes, it is probable that she would not have become a geisha or

The Driving Factors Of Immigrant Entrepreneurship
1.0Introduction
Immigrant entrepreneurship is a relatively new phenomenon that explores the setting up and
managing of business by immigrants in their adoptive countries. Brush et al. (2010) note that
immigrant entrepreneurship has become a type of growth sector because both the host and ethnic
countries benefits from it. The driving factors of immigrant entrepreneurship are distinct from other
forms of entrepreneurship because they accrue from necessity, and the need to survive in dismal
employment situations. Bandyopadhyay et al. (2017) posits that immigrants are drawn to specific
countries mostly the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) countries
due to the push factors such as unemployment and lack of amenities in the home country and pull
factors such as potential for employment and better service provision in the host country. However,
these expectations may not always be met compelling the immigrant to look for other sources of
income through entrepreneurship. Australia s Australian s First policy for job employment
provides an apt example of natives receiving first priority in job selections (Karp, 2017). Hence,
with economic insecurity and lack of employment opportunities, immigrants are forced to seek
alternative income means such as self employment. Zimmerman (2016) considers immigrant risk
taking in unfamiliar territories with minimum resources as fulfilling the entrepreneurial
characteristics. The difference, however, is that immigrant entrepreneurship is different from other
forms of entrepreneurship, particularly in terms of funding, performance and survival rate. The
European Commission (2003) remarked that immigrant businesses in Europe showcase a potent
entrepreneurial capacity and potential. This thesis aims to assess the extent to which immigrant
entrepreneurship differs from other entrepreneurial forms. This will be achieved through a review
of existing narratives on the subject.
2.0 Existing Literature Overview
The existing literature on entrepreneurship stems from economical conceptual frameworks
developed in the early twentieth century by Schumpeter, Cole, Kirzner among others. Fayolle
(2014) notes that entrepreneurship has gained considerable study

Two Spirits Native American Culture
Culture is a complex concept that incorporates society s beliefs, values, arts, attitudes and more.
People like to be able to categorize animals, objects and unfortunately people. This idea of
categorizing people has been around all throughout history. Whether it be race, religion, politics, or
gender, people like categorization. Ideas that stray from tradition and challenge cultural norms lead
to discrimination and ignorance. For example, in the late 1800s and early 1900s women did not
have the same rights as their male counterparts, and women continue to struggle to receive full
equality, the wage gap. Transgender or Two Spirited is when a person s personal identity and gender
does not correspond with their birth sex. The movie Two Spirits... Show more content on

It s really unfortunate our culture doesn t view transgender people the same as the Navajo tribe.
Transgender people and families of trans people have to cope with discrimination and hate daily.
The process of coming out is a lot different for transgender than coming out as gay. The coming out
process is very difficult and emotional for families. Going from having a daughter to a son or a son
to a daughter is a challenging, emotional process for families. Parents and families have to accept
new pronouns and name changes. That is if the family is understanding and accepting of having a
transgender son or daughter, unfortunately some parents are unaccepting. When parents don t want
anything to do with their child, the transgender person has no immediate support system. The child
has to cope with all the physical, mental, and emotional trials on their own. Not only does the child
have to deal with discrimination from society, they have to deal with discrimination from their own
parents, who are supposed to love them. Forty one percent of people in the transgender community
have tried to commit suicide. Like the documentary Two Spirits said, everyone has a purpose, we
should not discriminate against innocent transgender children or adults, or anyone for that

Accents In To Kill A Mockingbird
People of many different regions and countries speak different languages. Even those that speak the
same language have different dialects and accents. Some people of different generations have
different dialects and slang. These accents cause people to judge a speaker because of their
antecedents. Although, many people attempt to stay open minded, people judge (sometimes
subconsciously) others education, class, and nationality, due to their way of speaking.
Sure, people attempt to be nonjudgmental and open minded. Today people really try not to be
judgemental over something someone can not control like their accents. People try to be politically
correct when describing someone and judging them by their language would not be politically
correct.
However, language is still a political instrument to describe someones identity. If a Russian with
good English was visiting the US and spoke to an American they may think they aren t trustworthy
because of the US s history with Russia. The American may be timid and uncomfortable near the
Russian just because they heard the Russian accents. Similarly, in the book To Kill A Mockingbird

England they would both judge each other by their accents. The Kentuckian would assume the
English person was wealthy, and better educated. While the English person would assume the
Kentuckian was less educated and poorer due to their accent. Neither of these assumptions may be
true. However, due to language being a political instrument to judge others the assumptions were

Questions On The Motives Of Ministry
Section 3 The Motives of Ministry Lesson 1: Your Relationship with Jesus Christ Maintaining
your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing you should hold onto. If you lose
that, then it is guaranteed that you will not be an effective minister. There is no way that you
can operate under the agape love and not know Jesus Christ for yourself. How can one explain the
character of Jesus Christ if you have not discovered them for yourself? Remain true to who God
has called you to be. Ministry does not begin with a love for people. It begins with a love for God
and then that love overflows to the children of God. If we minister to God s people only out of a
humanistic love for people we will be people pleasers rather... Show more content on

If you have ever been to a restaurant where they have a front cashier, like McDonalds or Wendy
s, it is the job of that front cashier to serve the customers as they enter into the building. If you
are new and just walk in from the streets, you will not be able to stand behind the counter and
serve without knowing the policy or the expectations from that company. For example, when
going to Chick Fila, for a while they were the only restaurant that will end their services with the
statement, it was a pleasure serving you or it was my pleasure . After leaving, I felt that I was
not a burden to them or that they enjoyed their job. So every time I go, I automatically expect to
hear that phrase at the end. Now, what if someone new walked in not knowing that was
something they tell their customers. They could change the entire atmosphere on how they
serve and it would be noticed. Training, workshops, meetings allow employees to stay up to date
with the owner s policy. It allows them to remain in the vision of the company. The same with
you as a minister or preacher, you have to maintain your relationship with God through prayer,
fasting, studying and more in order to remain confident that you are exactly where God wants
you to be. Not only that, but to evaluate if you are becoming more of a people pleaser or are you
still a God pleaser . Don t feel bad if that is the case, because we have all slipped into that direction

Compare And Contrast Richard The Lionheart And Saladin
Richard the Lionheart who led the Third Crusade, ended up making a deal with the opposing
leader, Saladin. Both leaders were capable of cruel doings but they had a sort of respect each other
as when Richard lost his horse in battle, Saladin sent a replacement. Every time Richard the
Lionheart and his troops moved inland towards Jerusalem Saladin s army would circle round them
cutting them off from their supplies. Eventually they agreed to a treaty that allowed Christian
pilgrims to enter Jerusalem and leave unharmed but it stayed under Muslim control, they both
signed the treaty and the fight was over.

The Mexican American Invasion
Americans know it as the Mexican War, but the people of Mexico know it by a different name.
The U.S. Invasion. The borders of America after the Louisiana Purchase was finalized, went from
what is now Oregon s eastern border all the way to the very northern tip of Texas and into
Louisiana. But President Polk still wanted more land, so in 1836 when Texaswon its independence
from Mexicothey scrambled to get the new republic annexed into the U.S. This caused problems
with Mexico because when Texas signed the treaty with the U.S they, the Americans, were
convinced the border was the Rio Grande. The Mexicans, on the other hand, thought it was the
Nueces River. But the war became unavoidable once armed American soldiers crossed into Mexico.

This land that the Americans were fighting for was originally Mexico s land. However, when
Texas had declared its independence in 1836 America saw a chance to gain more land and hurriedly
tried to convince them to join the United States. It was only then when Texas joined the U.S did
they have border problems. This is because President Polk was power hungry and what shows
power more than how much land a country has? And even though the land did not belong to
them, nor did it Texas they still tried to claim it as theirs. Polk says I had ordered an efficient
military force to take a position between the Nueces and the [Rio Grande] This had become
necessary to meet a threatened invasion of Texas [because of] the Mexican force... threatened
[Americans] solely because Texas has determined... to annex herself to our Union...it was plainly
our duty to extend our protection over her citizens and soil. (Doc B) What Polk failed to take
into consideration is that by mobilizing his armies and sending them into the disputed land
Mexico had also claimed as theirs that it could be viewed as an invasion of their lands or an act
of war. Mexico thought they were invading and merely reacted to the fact that they had soldiers
from a country they were having conversations with. This whole battle that is responsible for

Red And Processed Meat Research Paper
The Effects of Red and Processed Meat on Human Health and Diseases The Food and Agriculture
Organization states that each (non vegetarian) person in the United States, on average, consumes
270 pounds of meat annually, and according to the United States Department of Agriculture, about
71.2 pounds of it is particularly red meat, meaning beef, pork, veal, or lamb (FAO, USDA).
Processed meat constitutes about 22% of total meat consumption, coming to an average of 60

The Pros And Cons Of Libertarian Paternalism
I.Libertarian paternalism is a choice infrastructure that public or private institutions can nudge
choosers to make better choices whereas people s freedom of choices is preserved (Thaler and
Sunstein, 2003). Due to the increasing recognition of retirement saving crisis where people save
much less than is desirable, booming aging population and increasing uncertainty over the
effectiveness and impacts of traditional incentives such as tax relief, automatic enrolment (AE) is
called as a potential solution in the domain of retirement saving. This essay argues against the
current AE scheme in the UK National Employment Savings Trust and argues that while
theoretically AE can be a sensible answer to the problem of retirement saving it has a problematic
choice infrastructure which might lead to sub optimal outcomes and is facing uncertain costs. The
reminder of this essay proceeds as follows. Section II presents how nudge works in AE. Section III
focuses on the limitations of the AE s default options and presents the reasons why this scheme
might lead to sub optimal outcomes. Section IV concludes by suggesting possible solutions.

The main concern of the automatic enrolment is that it assumes that government or choice designer
knows best and makes judgement about people s best interests and that of society (Halpern, 2015).
This issue can be partly addressed by the fact that people have low level of financial education thus
tend to make bad decisions and that people s rights to drop out are guaranteed. However, to avoid
misusage by unscrupulous government, transparency and disclosure requirement should be

Cultural Differences Between The Nisei And The Issei
In 1869, the first Japanese Immigrants arrived in California in an attempt to escape the Meiji
restoration, which forced them out of their houses. Many joined them in America after that, forming
the first generation of Japanese Americans, the Issei. Those immigrants then formed families and
gave birth to the second generation, the Nisei. However, the cultural differences between the Issei
and the Nisei, who were all born in America, created an important gap between the two generations.
The short story Seventeen Syllables , through the relation between Rosie, a Nisei young girl, and
Tome Hayashi, her mother, is a good depiction of this issue.
First of all, the lack of a common language between the Nisei and the Issei was the main problem
in their relations. Most the Nisei went to American schools where they learned everything in
English. The Issei, for their part, had learned Japanese as their first language. In Seventeen
Syllables , Rosie only has little knowledge in Japanese. Here, the author describes a bit more her
level in that language: It was about cats, and Rosie pretended to understand it thoroughly and
appreciate it no end, partly because she hesitated to disillusion her mother about the quantity and
quality of Japanese she had learned in all the years now that she had been going to Japanese school
every Saturday (and Wednesday, too, in the summer). (170) It reflects the delicate situation in which
that ignorance put the Nisei. To make their parents proud,

Self-Disclosure In Sports Psychology
The authors concluded with a few take home messages. The first is that self disclosure can have a
profound impact (both positive and negative) on a client s progress. They emphasized that this

so we would have someone to go to in these lonely times and this person is Jesus christ and God.
In this chapter Bonhoeffer really discusses how we being individuals need to accept Jesus Christ
the mediator. Back to the issue of Jesus bearing all of our sins it truly shows how caring and
how much he values our lives. If Christ is willing to die for us and our sins we should at
minimum bring him into our lives. We should recognize what he did for us and live in a way
where he can shine through us. So by God creating us as lonely individuals we should be able to

Our concentration will be fast service with a quality product, but we also plan to acquire new
customers who prefer a sit down meal.
As for our market segmentation the concentration will be on teens, young adults, and parents.
Since teens don t typically cook a lot we believe that there should be a chance for success in this
area because we are offering quality products at a cheap price. The same could be said about the
young adults as they could be new into the work force and looking to get the most food for the
price and this is something that we will be able to provide for them. With all of this being said
our main focus will still be with parents and families. This is because we want to gain customers
at a young age and hope to maintain these customers for the period of their entire lives. If our
business is able to obtain life long customers it is sure to be a success and this is what we are
looking for with our business.
Positioning StatementTo provide the best meal possible, while maintaining our speed of service
and friendliness of the crew.
While it is our main goal to be fast, accurate, and friendly we also want to make sure that the
quality is there with our products as this will build repeat business for our restaurant.
Offering to customersFast food service with excellent customer service with a smile. The idea is to
be welcoming to customers of all ages and especially to children.

Periodontal Disease Case Study
Based on this patient s history, how would you educate this patient about periodontal disease and
the factors contributing to the disease (identify the factors that are contributing to the disease
process). Mr. Tosis, after looking at your radiographs and evaluating results of your periodontal
evaluation, I concluded that you have gum inflammation and significant bone loss around your
teeth. This condition has been going on for many years and it is a slow process. It also explains the
gum bleeding that you experience during flossing and also explains the tooth mobility on certain
teeth. Unfortunately, this periodontal condition not only effect your mouth but it has negative
consequences throughout the whole body. If left untreated, the risks could be loosing your natural

Diabetes affects the periodontal condition by feeding harmful bacteria that thrives under your gums
with sugars from your blood circulation. With more bacteria attacking your body, your immune
system must fight much harder and has less energy to work on other issues like diabetes. Another
risk of having this bacteria living in your mouth is that these bacteria enter the blood system and
attach to the inner walls of the blood vessels forcing the immune system building a barrier around
them and slowly closing up the arteries. When the arteries getting narrower the heart must work
harder to pump the blood through and this cause increase in blood pressure. You must be aware of
the affect of smoking that cause systemic and oral problems as well. Nicotin from the cigarettes
cause constriction in the blood vessels that also increase blood pressure and result in less blood
flowing through the gum tissue. When this happens, the immune cells have no access to the
harmful bacteria that cause the inflammation in the gums to protect your tissue, and

Does Franchise Quarterback Wins
Introduction: In the NFL, there is a general consensus that the Quarterback is the most important
position on the field. For the most part, wins and losses are both attributed to the quarterback.
Thus, it is imperative for teams to find a Franchise Quarterback to build their team around. With
such importance being placed on one position, it can be easy to put more pressure one
quarterbacks than they actually deserve. In this study, I wanted to determine if the quarterback
really does hold the key to winning. Is there a link between how well your quarterback plays and
how many games the team wins? Additionally, I included statistics on the defense and the running
game for an overall picture of what impacts the win percentage the most.... Show more content on

The variables regarding the quarterback were averaged over the number of games the
quarterback started. In contrast, the remaining two variables (defensive YPG and running YPG)
were averaged over the full 16 game season. My dependent variable was the win percentage for
however many games the quarterback played. My data had 201 observations, going back 5
years (from the 2010 season to the 2015 season). My original model was able to pass most of the
assumptions but not all. The error terms were normal (Figure 1) and there were no serious
outliers, multicollinearity, or autocorrelation. However, the scatter plot of the predicted Y values
and the residuals showed signs of heteroscedasticity, depicted in Figure 2. Given that, I
transformed my dependent variable by squaring the values of the dependent variables. This
corrected the heteroscedasticity, as shown in Figure 3 and the error terms still followed a normal
distribution, as given by Figure 4. My final model now checked off all of the assumptions and I
could move forward. My analysis of the data suggests that the touchdown to interception ratio had
the greatest effect on the win percentage. I had predicted that defensive YPG would have the
greatest impact on win percentage but it was actually the touchdown to interception ratio. Also, the
coefficient for defensive yards allowed was negative as I predicted. However, the coefficient for the

The Importance Of Executive Agreements In Foreign Policy
In foreign policy, there are two types of executive agreements, treaties and international
agreements or executive agreements. The president is able to create a treaty with another country
but needs two thirds of the U.S. Senates advice and consent for the treaty to pass. Joint possession
of the power in question, by the President and Senate, would afford a greater prospect of security
than the separate possession of it by either of them (Milkis and Nelson, 2016). The Constitution
believed that it would be safer for the United States if both the executive and legislative branches
worked together to create treaties. An example of a treaty is the Jay Treaty. The Jay Treat was
between the United States and Great Britain, but there were some issues with this treaty. Other
politicians and citizens did not like what the treaty stated. They believed the Jay Treat
unconstitutionally undermined the separate of powers (Demmer, 2015). But they could not take
any action because senate already gave the two thirds approval. For treaties, Congress has the power
to accept or decline what the president writes. The Constitution of the United States, has
empowered Congress, and not the president (Demmer, 2015). This means Congress has more power
in leading foreign policy. Then there is the executive agreement which brought into force with
respect to the United States on a constitutional basis other than with the advice and consent of
Senate ( Treaty vs. Executive Agreement ).

Also, because of a clear quantitative metrics that are within a specific threshold and an
arrangement to proceed with the plans, it can be used as a data analysis and does not require an
expertise to be able to construct and utilize a risk matrix. Although some of this benefits are very
important, some drawbacks when using a risk matrix are: insufficient resolution, inaccuracy,
inconclusive figures, ineffective for random decision making and highly negative correlations.
The impact of the risk is determined by using the impact criteria provided below. And the
likelihood criteria are used to determine the likelihood of the hazard occurring. The range of the
hazard is further analyzed from the risk matrix by evaluating the intersection of the impact and

THE PURPOSE OF MUSIC VIDEO The overview requirements: Promotional Extension

Synergy Producers strategies (major label and independent) History Modern music
videos were initially made and used as a publicizing device intended to promote the sale of music
recordings. They are often called promos . In 1940, Walt Disney created Fantasia , an animated
film based around famous piece of classical music. The original music videos were shot in the
1950s. In 1956 Tony Bennett was shooting walking along The Serpentine in Hyde Park as his
song Stranger in Paradise played. This was dispersed to TV stations in the UK and US. The
Beatles first major motion picture A hard Day s Night in 1964 arguably set out the basic visual
vocabulary of today s music videos. Penny Lane in 1967 used methods derived from
underground and avant garde film to exemplify the song in an artful manner. 1970s In the UK
the significance of Top of the Pops to promote a single created an environment of revolution and
competition amongst bands and record labels as the show s producers placed strict limits on the
number of videos it would use, consequently a good video would increase a song s sales. Queen s
Bohemian Rhapsody also started a whole new age for using music videos as promos. 1980s 1981

The gun laws of the United States have a long history on determining the credentials on purchasing

All 50 states allow a conceal carry on the same level but only a few are more restrictive than other.
I think this is the issue at hand and can be an issue if the federal government doesn t fix it. So, to
answer the question, who regulates gun control federal government or the individual states? The
federal government regulates the gun control but without being specific on the gun regulations, the
individual states can form gun laws that restrict a person from possess or carrying a firearm. It s not
right but, there is no clear definition in the Constitution that states that the individual states cannot
make laws on how to obtain a firearm or a carrying permit.
What is the 2nd Amendment about? Before that is stated, the 2nd Amendment states A well

The Issue Of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has one of the most exceedingly terrible human rights records on the planet as the
nation routinely detains and executes many individuals named as foes of the kingdom. As
indicated by the Human Rights Watch (HRW), the rule of King Abdullah, who passed away on
2015 at 90 years old, realized minor advances for women, yet neglected to secure the key privileges
of Saudi Arabiasubjects to free expression, affiliation and assembly. The nation regularly sparks
overall shock for its restraint of fundamental flexibilities and oppression of political adversaries and
human rightsactivists. The issue in Saudi Arabia is that the legal framework is utilized as a device
against the individuals who need more opportunity. In Saudi Arabia, there is the supposed religious
police, whose part is to discover human rights seekers and flexibility contenders and rebuff them.
Additionally, there are high courts, which do not work like in Western nations and they are not
accountable for ensuring the security of rights, but rather ensuring that disciplines are completed.
There are additional reports expressing that numerous individuals who are detained, regularly
without being charged, are likewise tormented, as the degree is to mortify them and make them
endure. Detainees are likewise tormented in light of the fact that the Saudi Arabian legitimate
framework depends on admissions. This is a gross infringement of worldwide principles,
considering the way that Saudi Arabia intentionally

Arrow Paradox Baby Bash
Artist: Baby Bash
Song: In Motion
Lyric: I m in motion/Sippin love potion
Topic: Arrow Paradox
The concept of arrow paradox claims that when objects occupy an equal space at rest and
locomotion is constant at the moment; then a flying arrow will be declared to be motionless. Zeno
claims that at any instant an object is motionless because it cannot move to a place that it is not due
to the fact that time has not elapsed. On the other hand, an object cannot move to where the
object already is because that would create a paradox, seeing as the object is already there. It is
impossible to observe any form of motion when the time is paused. Furthermore, if space is
occupied by the objects then also the arrow should be dormant. Thus, the entire elaboration of this
notion creates a fallacy. One can conclude form the arrow paradox that motion is impossible
because everything is motionless at each instant, and time in essence is the sum of many instances.

Greeny Ride A Horse Western Analysis
How To Properly Ride a Horse Western
Welcome, greeny rider.
I am assuming you know nothing about horseback riding, western style, from the way you are
looking at the saddle. Yes, that is the correct form and fit of the saddle. Yes, it probably is heavy
for your arms. Yes, the reins are supposed to be that long. Any more questions...? Put your hands
down! Good...
Make sure that, when you are trotting, you move against the saddle. When you are in saddle, you
should never move with the saddle. Never. You need to keep your body flailing around against it.
Also, make sure that when you are moving against it, you push your body up towards the saddle
horn and almost clonk the inside of your legs against it every time. That won t hurt at all..

This will make your horse get used to being pulled really hard in the mouth, and it will refuse to
stop whenever you pull back on the reins in the future, because it is so used to having its mouth
ripped up. This will make sure your horse go fast and never tire, because it doesn t have to worry
about being stopped.
Make sure the horse s head is behind the vertical when riding. They don t need to breathe! It won t
even hurt their neck! A horse s head is meant to be pulled down to it s neck, so air has trouble
getting in through their nose and into their lungs. Nobody s head hurts after looking down all day,
either.
You must wear shorts or thin riding pants. Jeans are overrated. You are going to wantthe saddle to
rub against your legs and scrape the skin off. Tougher skin will grow back! But you must keep
riding, even through the pain. You fidgeting in your saddle will make the horse do much better,
because it totally can t pick up on your mood.
And, this, is how to ride Western. The proper way. It s for everyone, especially if you like
ignoring your instructor, or just learning on your own. No mistakes can be made if you do all of

behavior is defined in our textbook as, a state of persistently elevated mood, feelings of

of Pat s manic behavior is when he doesn t fall asleep and instead stays up all night to read and

the book and being displeased with the ending, he wakes up his parents to rant to them about the

Seizing the Day in Robert Herrick’s poem, “To the...
To what extent may an argument be framed as believable or serious? Persuasion on seizing the
day is a common theme in Robert Herrick s poem, To the Virgins, To Make Much of Time and
Andrew Marvel s To His Coy Mistress . The arguments within the poems can seem unrealistic, a
little hyperbolic, with an underlying intent to acquire a womanto sleep with them. The concrete
position of all the arguments within the two poems seems to be, getting a woman to sleep with
them. The two poets posses similarities between the two pieces of poetry, however argue the topics
in different ways. Beauty is not forever lasting, coyness put aside, while pleasure embraced, and
time is of the essence; are all points made to intrigue women to be with them. To focus on those
points a little: The beauty of a woman is compared to aspects of nature. Herrick s poem only
looks at the physical qualities of a woman, unlike Marvel s, which references personality along
with physical traits. Sexual passion embraced, and coyness set aside? The poets, both urge
women to act upon sexual urges while they stay youthful, but if a woman was told they are not
going to be desired when older, would they actually want to be with someone who tells them that?
Time is moving quickly and its made known within the poems. Herrick is an advocate to relate
everything to physical aspects, so of course he says a woman s beauty diminishes quickly. Marvel
does not relate beauty and time together, instead he would

as a sacred sacrificial site to a towering fortress, and has shown up time and time again in
European history. Due to its strategic location, Gibraltar has been involved in many wars from the
Spanish Succession to World War II. The rock lies at the neck of the Strait of Gibraltar, the last
point before Mediterranean joins the Atlantic. Here, five million years ago, the Atlantic waters
breached the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean was created. The history of Gibraltar, like so
much in 1700s Europe, is part of the tug of war between the English and Spanish. To this day,
Gibraltar remains a contested country between these two nations. Gibraltar... Show more content on

Gibraltar finally fell into British hands as part of the War of the Spanish Succession. An
operation against the French, it was intended to prevent the French from inheriting the Spanish
throne. The allied forces of the British and Dutch intended to drive through the Mediterranean to
pressure France. In doing so, they would alleviate some of the pressures facing their forces
within the Atlantic and the Caribbean. They hoped this expedition into the Mediterranean
would aid them in establishing a bridgehead in which they could pressure Madrid. In May 1704,
Admiral Rooke took 49 ships into the Mediterranean Sea. They were diverted from Nice when
they received news that two fleets of opposition had entered the Mediterranean. This force
would boast 95 ships, and would be virtually unassailable. The British and Dutch needed a safe
harbor where they could plan their next move. They wanted Cadiz but feared its garrisons. Then
Prince Hesse, leader of the marine forces, suggested Gibraltar. Gibraltar was sure to not be as
garrisoned as Cadiz. On August 1st, the fleet entered Gibraltar Bay. By the 6th, Gibraltar was
claimed. Many of the native inhabitants would flee from the oppression of the British and Dutch
forces. The exiles fled to San Rocque, where they created a new

The Effect Of Workaholism On A Couple s Marriage And...
Workaholism, according to Wikipedia can be described as an addiction to work and is not same as
working hard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workaholic). Numerous studies have been conducted
determining the effect of workaholism on a couple s marriage, and their marital status. These
studies have revealed that there is a direct correlation between negative effects of work stress on
either spouse and their marital estrangement over a course of time due to loss of intimacy,
commitment and belonging of the work stressed partner to their spouse. Workaholism continues to
be the driving force for pragmatic decision making, mental health problems, anxiety and even
severe depression amongst today s generation, thereby becoming an idol and replacing... Show

These respondents assessed their current spouse s work habits using WART, rated their current
marriage in terms of emotional closeness using Marital Disaffection Scale, and recorded positive
affects toward their spouse if any using the Positive Feelings Questionnaire. These respondents
were also asked to perform a Nowicki Strickland locus of Control Scale on themselves. All these
scales, questionnaires and Wart were contained inside the instrument packet provided to them in the
mail. This study empirically investigated the marital relationships of spouses of workaholics. The
findings were drawn for conclusions and their clinical implications were presented (Robinson et al.,
2010)
The results of this study supported a prior hypothesis made that revealed a statistically large
difference between spouses of workaholics and nonworkaholics. This difference was significantly
large and the spouse s struggle and trauma in putting up with their workaholics partner spoke louder
than any questionnaire or study could ever speak. The results indicated egotism, domestic physical
violence, abuse, and infidelity that is becoming a shocking reality for many victimized spouses.
The partners get so consumed and sucked up in their performance that they don t even realize when
their work starts taking place of their spouse and their family (Robinson et al., 2010) (Psychology
Today).

Stardom is simply an economic process. Discuss.
Stardom, as a social phenomenon, has strong impacts on the society and its people. Stardom is
firstly associated with the Hollywood film system, but now it appears in all areas, predominantly in
sports, television industry and popular music industry. Shuker (2012) defines stardom in popular
music as it is about illusion and appeal to the fantasies of the audience and is about talent and
creativity as well. Without overlooking the commercial profits that it evidently generates, at the
same time, it brings benefits and detriments to both the artists and the influenced crowd. In this
essay, I will be arguing that stardom is not simply an economic process that brings revenue and

stardom brought changes to the stereotypical ideas that the society held and re evaluated the
meaning of certain items. Apart from the glasses, Lennon was an activist who was profoundly

Stardom often challenges the artist s process of finding their true identity. From Hannah Montana to

personality. People went outrageous on her performance at VMA in 2014, questioning her
authenticity as an artist as they could not believe that she went from a role model to a latex

Another aspect of its success is how it functions is in the human resources department. The
company has been recognized for being innovative and effective for its stay interviews and
manager certification programs (Ruggles, 2011). Their turnover rates for both management and
hourly employees were among the lowest in their industry segment,? said Joni Doolin, founder of
the People Report, a research firm and sponsor of the conference along with Black Box
Intelligence, another research firm (Ruggles, 2011). Instead of performing exit interviews the
company utilizes stay interviews designed to improve working conditions to impress upon
employees to stay. In order to efficiently monitor sales and inventory the company utilizes a Point
of Sale(POS) system as items are rang up in the register providing at real time key spending and
income factors.
Organizational Design
The company is geographically located in most major united states locations. It employs a
hierarchal organizational design. One of the contributing factors to its success is the company s
success in providing a dining experience for its customers that excel in choices, price, customer
service, and serving size. The company is known world wide for its delicious cheesecakes with the
key factor being the variety.

Social Play Analysis
A). Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means
rather than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally
applies rules (Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play,
and pretend symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age
of birth to 4 months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking
legs, reaching for or sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age
of 24 months and 36 months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and
put together puzzles. Social play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the
child s mother, father or caregiver. Pretend/symbolic play usually emerges after the first birthday,
when children behave in a nonliteral way, acting as if they were performing familiar routines, such
as eating, going to sleep, or washing their face (Gross, 195).... Show more content on

This topic is interesting to me as it amazes me how as we grow playing takes different forms to
us. It is also interesting because as we get older we can give meaning to objects making playing
more intentional. Playing also caught my attention as before reading about this topic in our
book I would have never correlated pointing and naming games as mothers using it as a way to
teach their child, I use to believe they would do this just to have fun with their child. I was
interested in this topic as well because I never knew play was different in cultures I always
believed it meant the same thing. It also interested me as when I get older and have kids of my
own I will use play to teach, a process known as

Animal Farm Rhetorical Analysis
An Allegory is, a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning,
typically a moral or political one. Animal Farm is an allegory for the Stalinist era of the Soviet
Union. George Orwell wrote Animal Farm with the intention of helping others understand the
gravity of Stalin s rule. He wrote in an allegoryinstead of a black and white opposition to Stalin
and it worked. Because of the allegorical story, it was understandable to anyone, and it was created
in a simple way that shows not only the evil of the antagonist, but also how understandable it was
that he got there. The story doesn t shame the animals that put Napoleon there, it shows how
maniacal and manipulative Napoleon was and how anyone could have lead him... Show more

The rhetoric in Animal Farm was intended to inform and influence readers on Stalin s coming of
power. For example Napoleon was an allegory for Joseph Stalin, and Squealer has been compared
to Vyacheslav Molotov. Orwell said that this was the only book he consciously wrought with
purpose in mind, this purpose was the rhetoric of the story. Rhetoric is written to persuade an
audience and that was exactly what Orwell intended. Orwell published the book in 1945 when the
British held Stalin in high esteem. Something Orwell hoped he could change, through the rhetorical
components of his story.
Using an allegory as a rhetorical device is intiary different from a synopsis of an historical event.
Using either of these is a more creative way to illustrate complex ideas and concepts in ways that
are comprehensible or striking to readers. Simply putting bullet points of information on the Soviet
Union does nothing to help understand the manipulation and intensity to stalin s rise to power. Not
to bash on history but without sympathy for the events it can be quite boring and mundane to learn.
Animal Farm made me feel for the characters, and understand them, making the history much more

claimed that the language of nature s book is mathematics and that the way to understand nature is

among the higher echelons of the Christian church. Encouraged by his success, Galileo began

Advantages Of Helical Spring
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
1.1 Helical Spring
Helical spring is defined as an elastic body, whose function is to distort when loaded and to recover
its original shape when the load is removed. The helical springs are made up of a wire coiled in the
form of a helix and are primarily intended for compressive or tensile loads. The cross section of the
wire from which the spring is made may be circular, square or rectangular. Helical compression
springs have applications to resist applied compression forces or in the push mode, store energy
to provide the push . Different forms of compression springs are produced. The helical springs are
said to be closely coiled when the spring wire is coiled so close that the plane containing each ...

Female Athletes Essay

Female Athletes
In this report I will be exploring two conditions and their implications on female athletes. The
conditions I will be investigating in relation to female athletes are pregnancy and iron deficiency.
Pregnancy
Overview
Pregnancy, also known as gestation, is the term used to describe the period in which a fetus
develops inside a woman s womb or uterus (Definition from https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics
/pregnancy/conditioninfo/Pages/default.aspx). Pregnancy is typically divided into three trimesters,
the first is twelve (12) weeks, the second is fifteen(15) weeks, the third is eleven (11) weeks.
Totalling nine (9) months, this is commonly expressed as the term of pregnancy.
Female athletes who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnant athletes should avoid exercise in hot conditions and for long durations. To avoid this the
athlete should drink water throughout the day in order to stay hydrated.
Sports Injuries can occur if the mother participates in a contact sport such as boxing, wrestling,
football and soccer, gymnastics, skiing, or any sport where contact levels are higher than that of
everyday life. At any stage during the pregnancy, any extreme pressure or force (or fall onto) to
the abdomen can damage the placenta. Later in the pregnancy, the fetus is no longer protected by
the pelvis, creating greater risk of damage by direct impact during sport.
Oxygen Deficiency can vary throughout pregnancy, it will be involved with the duration, type and
intensity that the athlete performs. This will increase the fetus heart rate, however if training
occurs regularly the fetus will become better conditioned and have the ability to adapt to the strain
of exercise. Irregular extreme exercise can be detrimental to the fetus.

Abortion, Right, Public Policy, And Constitutional Law Essay
Abortion, Right to Life Abortion raises subtle problems for private conscience, public policy, and
constitutional law. Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of
clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers
(Feinberg 1984: 1).
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first
28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many
consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is
forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed
the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.
Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the
moral law. John Calvin, a French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation, states
that :
The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a
most monstrous crime to rob it of the life, which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more
horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most
secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it
has come to light. (Calvin, 1984)
Many women resort to abortion because they think that they

Hard Power on Iran
Paper 1 This paper will show that the US and its allies should take a more Hard Power approach
when it comes to nuclear program of Iran. The paper will show how Iran cannot be trusted, due
to its history of braking its word, and how the deals that we have made so far shows that the
world is giving them the ability to create nuclear weapons. Also I will show how the resent
agreements mad heave not done enough to stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons. The first thing
we have to look at is how trustworthy has Iran been in the past. If Iran cannot be trusted then a
Soft Power approach will not work. The U.N. had already found the country in violation of its
international agreements in 2003 (Obama s Iran Gamble) Iran was caught red handed violating its
U.N. treatyobligations when it built a secret uranium enrichment facility in the mountains near the
town of Fordow.(Obama s Iran Gamble) This shows that Iran cannot be trusted to follow any
diplomatic agreements. No matter what interoperations are given, Iran s right to enrichment has
been recognized, (FoxNews) said the Iranian president Rouhani after the resent nuclear deal was
reached. This is perhaps one of the biggest arguments against the new deal, or any other deal that
allows Iran to continue to run the nineteen thousand centrifuges that Iran currently operates.
(FoxNews) This states that by allowing Iran to continue to manufacture nuclear material we are
recognizing its right to make nuclear material. This is a

  • 2. Examples Of Special Lighting In Eternal Sunshine Of The... Joel s Imaginary Actions: Spotlighting in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind While music always plays a significant part to convey emotions in film, light can be used just as effectively. The use of a special lighting technique is very noticeable in the memory scenes of Michel Gondry s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A major part of Eternal Sunshine is spent inside the protagonist Joel s mind. He is in the process of deleting his memory of Clementine, who was his girlfriend for two years. Two main lighting styles are used throughout the scenes which play inside Joel s mind. On one hand, natural bright lighting and on the other hand a darker setting with only one light source, carrying a strong resemblance of a spotlight (Jason Sperb, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this time instead of desperately chasing the spotlight he walks towards it in a decidedly confident manner. Both Joel and Clementine first walk through a house party and end up in Mierzwiak s clinic. There, Joel starts talking to Mierzwiak who is in turn talking to another version of Joel. This other version of Joel is part of the memory and does not react to the Joel we are following around. However, Mierzwiak acknowledges the Joel who enters the memory and starts talking to him. This whole scene is only lit by one spotlight moving back and forth in a tracking shot between the three characters. (Eternal Sunshine, 55:59 56:44) It is again, an event which has not happened in real life, but is just part of Joel s imagination. This could not have been the way Joel perceives this specific memory, as Sperb called it, as Mierzwiak is saying things which would not make sense in the real life scenario. Joel is now contacting the memory he has of Mierzwiak instead of screaming his name out into the void. He is trying out different tactics and none of them seem to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

May 24, 2012 Abstract My paper is written in purpose to cover the issue of the role of women in Islamic culture. My first part is devoted to the status of women according religious texts of Islam, Quran and Sunna. The first factor that determines the role of Muslim women is spirituality. In this regard women are equal to men; they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Osman M.F. , a Ph.D. in Islamic law and institutional history from Princeton University, supports this statement by stressing out that women are not seen as a mere shadow or an extension of a man, always following him (1993, p.3). He believes that women are free as individuals and are responsible for their faith and actions under the Islamic law. Hasan Abdul Ghaffar, a scholar of Hadith and a member of the Islamic Ideological Council in Pakistan, takes the same stand and concludes: There can thus be no doubt that in the Hereafter, men and women will both be judged, each individual bearing the burden of its own acts, each soul will be punished for its transgressions and each will be rewarded for its obedience to Allah (1996, p. 4). As Women s League points out basing on the Quran, both males and females are supposed to play the role of vicegerents (1995, Role as Vigerents section), praying to God and living up to his injunctions so that they can finally get to the paradise: Say: Behold, my prayer, and all my acts of worship, and my living and my dying are for God alone (Quran, 6:163). Some people may regard that the vicegerency of a woman should mainly be performed through childbearing. Nevertheless, there is no division of the vicegerency between sexes in the Quran, moreover, women should not be disregarded for being infertile or deciding not to have children. As evidence, the prophet Muhammad had children only from two of his wives, Khadija and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Along with many other stories in The Longman Anthology of Detective Fiction, the short story written by georges Simenon portrays a police procedural and contain the attributes necessary to make the story a police procedural. Inspector maigret deuces by George Simenon fell in this category as it meets the requirements. The story revolves itself around the killing of Otto Braun who was a jewish banker. A police procedural on the contrary places the detective in the middle of a working police force, where he or she must abide by the rules and regulations established by the law. This was shown during the questioning of the suspects on the train. Had it been a freelance detective he would use threat and force to get the people on the train to speak. The police procedural was conducted in a formal and lawfull fashion, where Maigret questions the passenger on the train one by one to get as much info as possible to catch the killer of Braun. Solving the crime in a police procedural is a matter of teamwork, and the answer to most cases comes from an accumulation of information. Maigret wasn t alone, in fact he was called at around three in the morning by his nephew Paul Vinchon to help with the investigation. Maigret and Vinchon worked as one gathering as much info as possible, finally after much running around they sat down and planned to catch the murderer who had been denying her guiltiness. Had ipt been just Maigret he could have figured it out all by himself but that would have taken a while, much longer than it took. Working as a team allows everyone a different job thus speeding the process. The murders are usually not cleverly plotted puzzles; they are violent, messy, and committed for any number of reasons. This murder was very messy, the body wasn t even disposed, it was just left on the train, the murder weapon was not disposed either. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Theme Of Water In Arthur Golden s Memoirs Of A Geisha From 1920 to present times, geisha numbers in Japan have dwindled from 80,000 to 150. In the words of Memoirs of a Geisha s film adaptation, [Geisha] sell [their] skills, not [their] bodies...The very word geisha means artist and to be a geisha is to be judge as a moving work of art. The differences and similarities between Arthur Golden s Memoirs of a Geishaand its movie adaptation certainly raise the book in preference over the movie. Chiyo/Sayuri s childhood background, Chiyo s encounters with the Chairman, and the symbolism of water are all significant details in the story of Sayuri Nitta. Chiyo Sakamoto is born in Yoroido, Japan. With her mother sick and her father growing older every day, she believes Mr. Tanaka is her liberator. Little does she know that, at the tender age of nine, she is to be ripped from her poor, simple life and sold to an okiya in Gion. The water in Chiyo/Sayuri s personality made her a threat to Hatsumomo, the head geisha in the Nitta okiya before Chiyo arrived. When Hatsumomo and Sayuri have their final quarrel, Hatsumomo sets the okiya ablaze, enforcing the impression that Hatsumomo s personality is linked to fire, making her and Chiyo /Sayuri natural enemies. • 7. The Driving Factors Of Immigrant Entrepreneurship 1.0Introduction Immigrant entrepreneurship is a relatively new phenomenon that explores the setting up and managing of business by immigrants in their adoptive countries. Brush et al. (2010) note that immigrant entrepreneurship has become a type of growth sector because both the host and ethnic countries benefits from it. The driving factors of immigrant entrepreneurship are distinct from other forms of entrepreneurship because they accrue from necessity, and the need to survive in dismal employment situations. Bandyopadhyay et al. (2017) posits that immigrants are drawn to specific countries mostly the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) countries due to the push factors such as unemployment and lack of amenities in the home country and pull factors such as potential for employment and better service provision in the host country. However, these expectations may not always be met compelling the immigrant to look for other sources of income through entrepreneurship. Australia s Australian s First policy for job employment provides an apt example of natives receiving first priority in job selections (Karp, 2017). Hence, with economic insecurity and lack of employment opportunities, immigrants are forced to seek alternative income means such as self employment. Zimmerman (2016) considers immigrant risk taking in unfamiliar territories with minimum resources as fulfilling the entrepreneurial characteristics. The difference, however, is that immigrant entrepreneurship is different from other forms of entrepreneurship, particularly in terms of funding, performance and survival rate. The European Commission (2003) remarked that immigrant businesses in Europe showcase a potent entrepreneurial capacity and potential. This thesis aims to assess the extent to which immigrant entrepreneurship differs from other entrepreneurial forms. This will be achieved through a review of existing narratives on the subject. 2.0 Existing Literature Overview The existing literature on entrepreneurship stems from economical conceptual frameworks developed in the early twentieth century by Schumpeter, Cole, Kirzner among others. Fayolle (2014) notes that entrepreneurship has gained considerable study ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Two Spirits Native American Culture Culture is a complex concept that incorporates society s beliefs, values, arts, attitudes and more. People like to be able to categorize animals, objects and unfortunately people. This idea of categorizing people has been around all throughout history. Whether it be race, religion, politics, or gender, people like categorization. Ideas that stray from tradition and challenge cultural norms lead to discrimination and ignorance. For example, in the late 1800s and early 1900s women did not have the same rights as their male counterparts, and women continue to struggle to receive full equality, the wage gap. Transgender or Two Spirited is when a person s personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. The movie Two Spirits... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s really unfortunate our culture doesn t view transgender people the same as the Navajo tribe. Transgender people and families of trans people have to cope with discrimination and hate daily. The process of coming out is a lot different for transgender than coming out as gay. The coming out process is very difficult and emotional for families. Going from having a daughter to a son or a son to a daughter is a challenging, emotional process for families. Parents and families have to accept new pronouns and name changes. That is if the family is understanding and accepting of having a transgender son or daughter, unfortunately some parents are unaccepting. When parents don t want anything to do with their child, the transgender person has no immediate support system. The child has to cope with all the physical, mental, and emotional trials on their own. Not only does the child have to deal with discrimination from society, they have to deal with discrimination from their own parents, who are supposed to love them. Forty one percent of people in the transgender community have tried to commit suicide. Like the documentary Two Spirits said, everyone has a purpose, we should not discriminate against innocent transgender children or adults, or anyone for that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Accents In To Kill A Mockingbird People of many different regions and countries speak different languages. Even those that speak the same language have different dialects and accents. Some people of different generations have different dialects and slang. These accents cause people to judge a speaker because of their antecedents. Although, many people attempt to stay open minded, people judge (sometimes subconsciously) others education, class, and nationality, due to their way of speaking. Sure, people attempt to be nonjudgmental and open minded. Today people really try not to be judgemental over something someone can not control like their accents. People try to be politically correct when describing someone and judging them by their language would not be politically correct. However, language is still a political instrument to describe someones identity. If a Russian with good English was visiting the US and spoke to an American they may think they aren t trustworthy because of the US s history with Russia. • 10. Questions On The Motives Of Ministry Section 3 The Motives of Ministry Lesson 1: Your Relationship with Jesus Christ Maintaining your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing you should hold onto. If you lose that, then it is guaranteed that you will not be an effective minister. There is no way that you can operate under the agape love and not know Jesus Christ for yourself. How can one explain the character of Jesus Christ if you have not discovered them for yourself? Remain true to who God has called you to be. Ministry does not begin with a love for people. It begins with a love for God and then that love overflows to the children of God. If we minister to God s people only out of a humanistic love for people we will be people pleasers rather... If you have ever been to a restaurant where they have a front cashier, like McDonalds or Wendy s, it is the job of that front cashier to serve the customers as they enter into the building. If you are new and just walk in from the streets, you will not be able to stand behind the counter and serve without knowing the policy or the expectations from that company. For example, when going to Chick Fila, for a while they were the only restaurant that will end their services with the statement, it was a pleasure serving you or it was my pleasure . After leaving, I felt that I was not a burden to them or that they enjoyed their job. So every time I go, I automatically expect to hear that phrase at the end. Now, what if someone new walked in not knowing that was something they tell their customers. They could change the entire atmosphere on how they serve and it would be noticed. Training, workshops, meetings allow employees to stay up to date with the owner s policy. It allows them to remain in the vision of the company. The same with you as a minister or preacher, you have to maintain your relationship with God through prayer, fasting, studying and more in order to remain confident that you are exactly where God wants you to be. But President Polk still wanted more land, so in 1836 when Texaswon its independence from Mexicothey scrambled to get the new republic annexed into the U.S. This caused problems with Mexico because when Texas signed the treaty with the U.S they, the Americans, were convinced the border was the Rio Grande. However, when Texas had declared its independence in 1836 America saw a chance to gain more land and hurriedly tried to convince them to join the United States. And even though the land did not belong to them, nor did it Texas they still tried to claim it as theirs. Due to the increasing recognition of retirement saving crisis where people save much less than is desirable, booming aging population and increasing uncertainty over the effectiveness and impacts of traditional incentives such as tax relief, automatic enrolment (AE) is called as a potential solution in the domain of retirement saving. This essay argues against the current AE scheme in the UK National Employment Savings Trust and argues that while theoretically AE can be a sensible answer to the problem of retirement saving it has a problematic choice infrastructure which might lead to sub optimal outcomes and is facing uncertain costs. The reminder of this essay proceeds as follows. Section II presents how nudge works in AE. Section III focuses on the limitations of the AE s default options and presents the reasons why this scheme might lead to sub optimal outcomes. Section IV concludes by suggesting possible solutions. Cultural Differences Between The Nisei And The Issei In 1869, the first Japanese Immigrants arrived in California in an attempt to escape the Meiji restoration, which forced them out of their houses. Many joined them in America after that, forming the first generation of Japanese Americans, the Issei. Those immigrants then formed families and gave birth to the second generation, the Nisei. However, the cultural differences between the Issei and the Nisei, who were all born in America, created an important gap between the two generations. The short story Seventeen Syllables , through the relation between Rosie, a Nisei young girl, and Tome Hayashi, her mother, is a good depiction of this issue. First of all, the lack of a common language between the Nisei and the Issei was the main problem in their relations. Most the Nisei went to American schools where they learned everything in English. The Issei, for their part, had learned Japanese as their first language. In Seventeen Syllables , Rosie only has little knowledge in Japanese. Here, the author describes a bit more her level in that language: It was about cats, and Rosie pretended to understand it thoroughly and appreciate it no end, partly because she hesitated to disillusion her mother about the quantity and quality of Japanese she had learned in all the years now that she had been going to Japanese school every Saturday (and Wednesday, too, in the summer). This is about how God made people as individuals. God made us to be alone and be lonely. He did this so we would have someone to go to in these lonely times and this person is Jesus christ and God. With such importance being placed on one position, it can be easy to put more pressure one quarterbacks than they actually deserve. This corrected the heteroscedasticity, as shown in Figure 3 and the error terms still followed a normal distribution, as given by Figure 4. My final model now checked off all of the assumptions and I could move forward. My analysis of the data suggests that the touchdown to interception ratio had the greatest effect on the win percentage. • 27. The Importance Of Executive Agreements In Foreign Policy In foreign policy, there are two types of executive agreements, treaties and international agreements or executive agreements. The president is able to create a treaty with another country but needs two thirds of the U.S. Senates advice and consent for the treaty to pass. Joint possession of the power in question, by the President and Senate, would afford a greater prospect of security than the separate possession of it by either of them (Milkis and Nelson, 2016). The Constitution believed that it would be safer for the United States if both the executive and legislative branches worked together to create treaties. An example of a treaty is the Jay Treaty. The Jay Treat was between the United States and Great Britain, but there were some issues with this treaty. Other politicians and citizens did not like what the treaty stated. They believed the Jay Treat unconstitutionally undermined the separate of powers (Demmer, 2015). But they could not take any action because senate already gave the two thirds approval. For treaties, Congress has the power to accept or decline what the president writes. The Constitution of the United States, has empowered Congress, and not the president (Demmer, 2015). This means Congress has more power in leading foreign policy. Then there is the executive agreement which brought into force with respect to the United States on a constitutional basis other than with the advice and consent of Senate ( Treaty vs. Executive Agreement ). ... The issue in Saudi Arabia is that the legal framework is utilized as a device against the individuals who need more opportunity. In Saudi Arabia, there is the supposed religious police, whose part is to discover human rights seekers and flexibility contenders and rebuff them. Additionally, there are high courts, which do not work like in Western nations and they are not accountable for ensuring the security of rights, but rather ensuring that disciplines are completed. There are additional reports expressing that numerous individuals who are detained, regularly without being charged, are likewise tormented, as the degree is to mortify them and make them endure. • 33. Arrow Paradox Baby Bash Artist: Baby Bash Song: In Motion Lyric: I m in motion/Sippin love potion Topic: Arrow Paradox The concept of arrow paradox claims that when objects occupy an equal space at rest and locomotion is constant at the moment; then a flying arrow will be declared to be motionless. Zeno claims that at any instant an object is motionless because it cannot move to a place that it is not due to the fact that time has not elapsed. On the other hand, an object cannot move to where the object already is because that would create a paradox, seeing as the object is already there. It is impossible to observe any form of motion when the time is paused. Furthermore, if space is occupied by the objects then also the arrow should be dormant. Thus, the entire elaboration of this notion creates a fallacy. One can conclude form the arrow paradox that motion is impossible because everything is motionless at each instant, and time in essence is the sum of many instances. ... Persuasion on seizing the day is a common theme in Robert Herrick s poem, To the Virgins, To Make Much of Time and Andrew Marvel s To His Coy Mistress . The arguments within the poems can seem unrealistic, a little hyperbolic, with an underlying intent to acquire a womanto sleep with them. The concrete position of all the arguments within the two poems seems to be, getting a woman to sleep with them. The two poets posses similarities between the two pieces of poetry, however argue the topics in different ways. Beauty is not forever lasting, coyness put aside, while pleasure embraced, and time is of the essence; are all points made to intrigue women to be with them. To focus on those points a little: The beauty of a woman is compared to aspects of nature. Herrick s poem only looks at the physical qualities of a woman, unlike Marvel s, which references personality along with physical traits. Sexual passion embraced, and coyness set aside? The poets, both urge women to act upon sexual urges while they stay youthful, but if a woman was told they are not going to be desired when older, would they actually want to be with someone who tells them that? Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means rather than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally applies rules (Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play, and pretend symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age of birth to 4 months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking legs, reaching for or sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age of 24 months and 36 months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and put together puzzles. Social play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the child s mother, father or caregiver. • 54. Female Athletes Essay Sports Medicine Female Athletes In this report I will be exploring two conditions and their implications on female athletes. The conditions I will be investigating in relation to female athletes are pregnancy and iron deficiency. Pregnancy Overview Pregnancy, also known as gestation, is the term used to describe the period in which a fetus develops inside a woman s womb or uterus (Definition from https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics /pregnancy/conditioninfo/Pages/default.aspx). Pregnancy is typically divided into three trimesters, the first is twelve (12) weeks, the second is fifteen(15) weeks, the third is eleven (11) weeks. Totalling nine (9) months, this is commonly expressed as the term of pregnancy. Female athletes who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pregnant athletes should avoid exercise in hot conditions and for long durations. To avoid this the athlete should drink water throughout the day in order to stay hydrated. Sports Injuries can occur if the mother participates in a contact sport such as boxing, wrestling, football and soccer, gymnastics, skiing, or any sport where contact levels are higher than that of everyday life. At any stage during the pregnancy, any extreme pressure or force (or fall onto) to the abdomen can damage the placenta. Later in the pregnancy, the fetus is no longer protected by the pelvis, creating greater risk of damage by direct impact during sport. Oxygen Deficiency can vary throughout pregnancy, it will be involved with the duration, type and intensity that the athlete performs. This will increase the fetus heart rate, however if training occurs regularly the fetus will become better conditioned and have the ability to adapt to the strain of exercise. Irregular extreme exercise can be detrimental to the fetus. https://www.active.com/women/articles/fitness training for pregnant athletes 876109?page=1 Iron Deficiency Overview Iron deficiency is a common type of anaemia, a condition in which the blood lack adequate healthy red blood

  • 56. Abortion, Right, Public Policy, And Constitutional Law Essay Abortion, Right to Life Abortion raises subtle problems for private conscience, public policy, and constitutional law. Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers (Feinberg 1984: 1). Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law. John Calvin, a French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation, states that : The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a most monstrous crime to rob it of the life, which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light. (Calvin, 1984) Many women resort to abortion because they think that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Hard Power on Iran Paper 1 This paper will show that the US and its allies should take a more Hard Power approach when it comes to nuclear program of Iran. The paper will show how Iran cannot be trusted, due to its history of braking its word, and how the deals that we have made so far shows that the world is giving them the ability to create nuclear weapons. Also I will show how the resent agreements mad heave not done enough to stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons. The first thing we have to look at is how trustworthy has Iran been in the past. If Iran cannot be trusted then a Soft Power approach will not work. The U.N. had already found the country in violation of its international agreements in 2003 (Obama s Iran Gamble) Iran was caught red handed violating its U.N. treatyobligations when it built a secret uranium enrichment facility in the mountains near the town of Fordow.(Obama s Iran Gamble) This shows that Iran cannot be trusted to follow any diplomatic agreements. No matter what interoperations are given, Iran s right to enrichment has been recognized, (FoxNews) said the Iranian president Rouhani after the resent nuclear deal was reached. This is perhaps one of the biggest arguments against the new deal, or any other deal that allows Iran to continue to run the nineteen thousand centrifuges that Iran currently operates. (FoxNews) This states that by allowing Iran to continue to manufacture nuclear material we are recognizing its right to make nuclear material. This is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
