A zero voltage and zero current switching full bridge (FB) converter with secondary resonance is
another method in this primary side of the converter have FB insulated gate bipolar transistors, which
are driven by phase shift control and secondary side is composed of a resonant tank and a half wave
rectifier [6]. Without an auxiliary circuit, zero voltage switching and zero current switching are
achieved in the entire operating range. In this without using additional inductor, the leakage
inductance of the transformer is utilized as the resonant inductor. It has many advantages, including
high efficiency, minimum and number of devices this topology is attractive for high voltage and high
power applications. For closed loop speed control operation, in current control loop, three phase stator
current information is required. The current sensors and the associated accessories increase the
complexity of the system, cost and size of the motor drives and decrease the reliability of the system
and also more number of power electronics switches means more switching losses and costly.
Therefore to overcome this problem a new drive system is proposed which uses four switches and two
current sensor, less switches and less current sensors means less switching losses and low cost. In this
paper, the PWM technique is therefore proposed to minimize the torque ripple and designed to
overcome the disadvantages from other torque ripple

David Fincher s adaption based The Girls in the Dragon Tattoo on the international bestselling
psychological thriller novel of the same name by the late Stieg Larsson. Director Fincher has created a

The Psychoanalytic Criticism Scope Of Hamlet
Hamlet is one the best known works of Willian Shakespeare, a play that emphasizes revenge, as one of
the major topics . The main character hamlet is driven by all of this revenge matter , and ends up
physically killing 2 people, Claudius and Polonius, as well as indirectly causing the deaths of 5 other
characters throughout the play. It is a Play that leaves us with uncertainty and doubts , we can go
either way, we could see hamlet as a protagonist who seeks justice for his father s murder or an
antagonist, because let s be realistic it is a bit extreme all the deaths he cause just to avenge one
person. I chose to look at hamlet through the psychoanalytic criticism scope. I will attempt to
demonstrate how his id, ego, and super ego influenced In his behavior and decision on murdering his
uncle, and the problems he confronted while attempting to accomplish his fathers will to do so.
Hopefully, we can make a decision after being presented hamlet through this new perspective.
First we can analyze hamlet being devastated by his fathers death. It is only fair to understand the pain
he must have felt, and on top of that he is supposed to be the heir to the throne of Denmark. Instead,
his uncle takes it from him by marrying his mother, Gertrude, so quick. By looking through the
psychoanalytic lens, we first look at his id or unconscious, which are our most desired dreams or
hopes that are deep within our mind, also known as the pleasure principle: is the

The Chinese Communist government has complete power over the legislation, economic and cultural
institutions. While western economies have governments that promote transparency for doing
business, China s Communist Party s rules and regulations have made transparency difficult
(Jayaraman, 2009). Large manufacturing companies can come under various and random regulations
and bureaucracies, and the Chinese promotes a form of social networking called guanxiwang, where
guanxi is the relationship between the individual and the entities of the network (Jayaraman, 2009).
With the heavy amount of corruption and the lack of transparency the guanxiwang or the social
network with connections with people from the communist party can help western businesses avoid
red tape and bureaucracy. The IMF told the international business world that China was doing fine in

made them? The 1960 s was one of the most influential decades ever with so many new inventions

Another invention that revolutionized this era was the ram chip invented by Robert Dennard January,

Inventions sprouted up through the entire decade in the U.S ( Famous Inventions Of The 1960 s ).
Another invention was the barcode scanner which was made by NCR Corp. January 1, 1969 is of
course still used and made a very heavy impact in american lives even today. Everytime you go to the

Comparing A Good Man Is Hard To Find And Good Country People
The Power of Judgement
Are there really any good people living on this planet? This question seems to loom in the one s mind
after reading Flannery O Connor s two stories, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People
. Not only does O Connor portray gruesome imagery throughout both stories, she also incorporates
aspects of religion. What makes these stories captivating is the element of pure shock during the
climax. Nevertheless, the short stories both help the readers visualize how judging others or jumping
to conclusions about certain individuals can have a dramatic conclusion.
O Connor enlightens the readers about how judging a book by its cover or jumping to certain
conclusions about others can be fatal. This is shown in Good Country People when the main character
Hulga gets too comfortable with a bible salesman named Manley Pointer. Even though Pointer seems
simple or of good country people , he is the polar opposite. In fact, he has a secret identity and cons
disabled women. However, the reader does not understand this shocking twist until Pointer gets close
to Hulga and convinces her that they are in love just to steal her prosthetic leg. O Connor also uses the
theme of judgment in another short story.

My Personal Experience With Heavenly Mother
Heavenly Mother, the New Jerusalem is the female image of God that gives eternal life in the Last
Days. For thousands of years people have known we have a Father in Heaven. What many still do not
know is that there is a prophecy being fulfilled right now, this very moment. This states that wo not
only have a Father in Heaven, but we also have a Heavenly Mother who is being revealed in the Last
Days to give us eternal life. I can truly believe in The New Jerusalem because I have personal
experience with her, the Bible clearly testifies about her as the spiritual life giver, and anyone can see
evidence of this fact even in nature.Through my personal experience with Heavenly Mother, I can say

I came for the nest Sabbath day and that day I was baptized. That hole was filled, my heart was full,
and it knew that Heavenly Mother had saved my soul.Among the many prophecies in the Bible, one of
the most important is that concerning Heavenly Mother who gives life. Jesus came to this Earth about
two thousand years ago and he taught his disciples the way through which they could receive
salvation, that is, the Passover (Jn 6:53.) Even at that time hecould have given eternal life and taken
them to Heaven, but instead he told them to wait until the Last Days (Jn 6:54.) This is because that is
the time Heavenly Mother appears. In Matthew 22:1 10 Jesus told a parable, in which he compared the
Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. Being invited to thewedding banquet is the same as being
invited to the Kingdom of Heaven. To have a wedding there must be a groom, a bride, and guests. In
the parable there is a groom, and guests, but no bride even thoughthe bride is the most important piece
of a wedding. This is because she was not ready at Jesus s firstcoming, but at his second coming. That
s why Revelations 19:7 NIV says Let us rejoice and be glad and give him Glory! For the wedding of
the Lamb(Christ) has come, and his bride has made herself ready! The bride is ready in the Last Days.
Rev 21:9 10 say that this bride is the New Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven. Just as Jesus is not
a physical lamb, this Jerusalem is not

The Woman Behind Every Man
Matthew Lee
Mrs. Wong
ENG 3UAA a
16 July 2015 The Woman Behind Every Man Can it be argued that men play a bigger role than women
in life? Through the centuries, women are seen as less valuable than their sexual counterparts, but time
and time again, females have proven themselves as being just as intellectually capable as men. This
concept is present in William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, which is a tragic play demonstrating the
effects of absolute power and corruption. The characters, especially the women, are heavily influential
and greatly impactful in the growth of others. Lady Macbeth s actions greatly shape and develop the
personality and motivations of Macbeth, leading to his ultimate demise. Although Duncan dies at the
hand of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth plays a key role in manipulating him to complete the murder.
Following the news that her husband will soon become king, Lady Macbeth realizes she does not want
to wait. She wants to be queen as soon as possible and for Macbeth to be successful, but she is aware
that Macbeth is not capable of killing King Duncan. Thus, Lady Macbeth takes it upon herself to
convince her husband that killing the king is just, which is present in her soliloquy as she says, Hi thee
hither, That I may pour my spirits in thine ear, And Chastise with the valour of my tongue All that
impedes thee from the golden round, (1.4.24 27)

achieved international recognition for his long distance swimming. While in New Orleans during the
Katrina hurricane Zeitoun also hopped that his siblings might see him in water like a sailor again,
being helpful and serving god, would show his siblings that he is a good man just like his brother
Muhammad. It can also be said that Zeitoun is an immigrant, and a Muslim. When he decided to his
country for another one, he always had the need to prove that he is as good as other civilians in New

People in the Sierra Leone have massive problems and sad stories of what they have seen in their

This left people with nothing to have and several families died or were lost. Numerous amounts of

Obviously, one of the most important of these basic needs is food. There are 154,000 refugees in

most difficult jobs one can do. The main food served in the camps is corn meal. Many refugees are

while others are tired of it. UNHCR uses many farmers to plant food in the gardens but farmers also

The Challenges Of Leadership In The Danielson Framework...
Our professional development sessions are conducted weekly in a variety of subject areas, and the
monthly school wide session, using interactive reform activities, align with the Danielson Framework
for Teaching (Danielson, 2013) to showcase best practices of teachers and to develop grade level
performance tasks, looking at students work to provide individual feedback that is aligned with the
teaching rubric in order to show academic progress and growth in the target areas of ELA and Math.
Distributed Leadership and Social Justice Leadership Theory
The research speaks to the eight symbolic roles of leaders; here the school leader serves as a historian
examining the challenges of the internal and external school culture. Terrence E. Deal and Kent D.
Peterson (1990) stated:
Who school leaders are what they do, attend to, or seem to appreciate is constantly watched by
students, teachers, parents, and members of the community. Their interests and actions send powerful
messages. They signal the values they hold. Above all else, leaders are cultural teachers in the best
sense of the word. (Deal Peterson, 1990, p. 201)
For that reason, the principal and school administrators will be visible and visiting classrooms, making
rounds, and attending and participating in community events. The school leaders will use their voice
to be advocates for the needs of the students, parents, faculty, and staff of HSHS and to showcase
everyone s accomplishments.
Another researcher, John P. Kotter (2006) outlined the Eight Steps to Transforming Your Organization,
which are:
1. Establishing a sense of urgency
2. Forming a powerful guiding coalition
3. Creating a vision
4. Communicating the vision
5. Empowering others to act on the vision
6. Planning for creating short term wins
7. Consolidating improvement and producing still more change
8. Institutionalizing new approaches. (p. 4)
The professional learning community will develop the steps of transforming our schools. It will use
these eight steps as professional development protocols in reducing the dropout rate and increasing
college and career readiness.
Matthews and Crow (2010) suggested that the professional learning community (PLC):

The Immature Brain Circuitry
Throughout history, many individuals have proclaimed whether humans are capable of determining
their own destiny. Many people have their own arguments about the situation between determined and
undetermined, though these claims are not valid they have commenced many thoughts in life. Even
though several unknown scenarios have determined a leading destination, we don t know the cause of
it. A research called The Immature Brain Circuitry was established for a particular reason to see if the
brain s structure had a specific function on making decisions. The research began by monitoring the

Legalizing Marijuana. Marijuana, Also Called Herb, Weed,
Legalizing Marijuana Marijuana, also called herb, weed, herb, pot, grass, and a vast number of other
slang terms, is a greenish gray combination of the dried, shredded leaves and flowers of Cannabis
sativa, the hemp plant. Some individuals smoke marijuana in hand rolled cigarettes called joints; many
use pipes, water pipes, or marijuana cigars called blunts (often made by cutting open cigars and
replacing some or all the tobacco with marijuana). Marijuana is frequently mixed into foods (edibles)
such as brownies, cookies, or candies, particularly when it is sold or consumed for medicinal

According to government surveys, 25 million Americans have smoked marijuana in the past year, and
more than 14 million do so on a regular basis, despite harsh laws against its use. Marijuana is far less
hazardous than tobacco or alcohol. Nearly 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning.
Additionally, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to smoking tobacco. By comparison,
marijuana is non hazardous and cannot cause death by overdose. The United States public policies
should reflect this reality, not deny it. (NORML) The legalization of marijuana is a liberty that people
deserve to choose for themselves. Legalization would also reduce crime, and give sick patients a new
effective medicine. The most important reason for marijuana to be legalized is because people deserve
to be free, and have the choice to smoke marijuana. As the members of what we call a free nation
should have the right to make decisions for ourselves. Marijuana is less hazardous than other drugs
that are already legal, like alcohol and tobacco. Marijuana also takes part of some religions. Just as
Christians drink wine on certain occasions, religions such as some Buddhists, Hindus, and
Rastafarians use marijuana in their spiritual and religious ceremonies. These individuals have the right
to exercise their religion, and The First Amendment in our Constitution protects these rights. Smoking
marijuana does not cause harm to others; therefore,

Hope as the stone itself is emerging from two boulders known as the Mountain of Despair. These
powerful words were derived from the side of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial that was

Another example of a muddled purpose lies within The Maine Lobsterman. Maine is known for its
fishermen, so H. Elroy Johnson, a resident of Maine who trapped lobsters for a living, was chosen to
be memorialized. As his statue was moved from place to place its purpose was lost because he truly
represented his home state of Maine only. When developing a monument, its purpose is at the root of
its success and should be timeless and/or clear to those who will view it in the general public.
Secondly, placement is a key factor in creating a monument of someone or an event. As described in
Source E, placement could offend the surrounding population. In this source, the Holocaust Museum
is located in The Mall in Washington, DC and it offended both Jewish and non Jewish communities.
This is primarily due to the fact that a museum dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust would be

When he said we were at Wendy s I heard him yell at him from across the table. After we were done
eating, we left right away and started to head home. Two block down from the Wendy s, we stopped
because we felt like were about to throw up.We waited there for 20 minutes then started back home.
We stopped at a church so I could take off my shirt because I was really hot outside. When we were 10
minutes away, there was a giant hill that was a block long. Nick and I started down the hill, I was
thinking I can do this, I can do this. Oh boy was I wrong. When we went down the hill, we were in the
street because the sidewalk was full of cracks. Halfway down, the board was wobbling and I fell off. I
did a front flip and landed on my back, shoulder, and my elbow. I got up and ran after my board so it
didn t hit the curb or worse, a car. When I was running I didn t feel any pain because I was in shock.
After I got the board I went on the sidewalk and the pain hit me like a

With the goal of ensuring that all preschools in California offer highquality programs, the California
Department of Education collaborated with leading early childhood educators, researchers, advocates,
and parents to develop Volume 2 of the preschool learning foundations. The foundations outline key
knowledge and skills that most children can achieve when provided with the kinds of interactions,
instruction, and environments shown by research to promote early learning and development. Volume
2 focuses on three domains: visual and performing arts, physical development, and health. These
domains often receive less attention than some of the other domains, but they are equally important for
preschool children s overall learning and development. As research that is summarized in this volume
indicates, physical v vi exercise and healthy routines and nutritional choices set the stage for
lifelong healthy habits. The recent NAEYC report underscores the need for children to play outside,
use their large muscles, and engage in vigorous physical activities every day. Of course, the visual and
performing arts fuel both preschool children s imaginative play and creativity and also promote
learning in all domains, including physical skill development, cognitive development, and social
emotional development. I believe that these foundations will help guide and support all California
preschools in providing developmentally

The Rationale Behind Nursing Interventions
Introduction:
Mrs. Pink, aged 75 was admitted to the orthopaedic ward after suffering a fall at home, resulting in an
intracapsular fracture of the hip at the femoral neck. Mrs. Pink has a history of cancer and cardiac
diseases and has severe rheumatoid arthritis. Due to ageing patients putting a great deal of strain on
the health care system, the incidences of hip fractures in the elderly are a major concern and requires
careful consideration regarding treatment. Known as a major cause of disability in the elderly, hip
fractures and their subsequent need for surgery result in chronic pain and an altered quality of life
(Strike, Sieber, Gottschalk Mears, 2013). Although important to improve a patient s quality of life and
physical independence, pain related to a total hip replacement (THR), also known as hip arthroplasty
(HA) can lead to delays in ambulation, longer hospital stays, poor functional outcomes and quality of
life. The purpose of this essay is to identify the rationale behind nursing interventions provided to post
operative THR patients as well as the pathology of a femoral neck hip fracture and their procedure for
assessment and diagnosis.
Pathology:
The pathology of a hip fracture relates to the science, or aetiology of the femoral neck fracture in
question and risk factors specific to hip fractures in the elderly are related to ageing. The most
common cause of a hip fracture is physical trauma or impact, such as when stress or pressure placed

The Internal Conflict Of Man And Self
Stories have been written regarding the internal conflict of man and self. Within this conflict, man
struggles with his own moral compass or natural character flaws. This conflict leaves man with many
questions including questions concerning immortality and life in general. In the novel Frankenstein,
Mary Shelley writes about the revolving conflicts between the two characters, Victor Frankenstein and
his monster. Victor and his monster s motives are parallel throughout the novel. Both characters begin
searching for an identity, Victor for fame through science and the monster trying to find his role in
society. Genesis 1:27 from the New King James Version of the Bible states, So God created man in
His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (The Holy
Bible). Religion teaches that man was created to be a likeness to God and not a more perfect being. In
his essay, Jean Jacques Rousseau stated, Everything is good as it leaves the hands of the Author of
things; everything degenerates in the hands of man (Rousseau 205). Rousseau explains in his
document, that there is a natural goodness in man that can be nurtured and maintained, but man can be
easily corrupted. The novel Frankenstein, deals with the divisions between Victor Frankenstein and
the monster that he creates. Their struggles illustrate the haunting similarities between the creator and
the created. Rousseau and Shelley both write about the conflicts that man faces throughout

Gastrocnemius Muscle Essay
Discussion
Gastrocnemius Muscle vs Sciatic Nerve Threshold and Maximum Voltage Stimulation (Direct vs
Indirect stimulation) The gastrocnemius muscle which consists of bundles of myofibrils continuously
contract and initiate a motor unit recruitment which makes it easier to increase from the threshold to
the maximum voltage via the sciatic nerve from 75.4 grams to 184 grams. When there was already
such a high threshold it was easy to reach a maximum with an increase in only .8 volts. In contrast, the
direct stimulation of the muscle has a physical limitation to the region that is innervated by the current
thus it seems that it takes a lot more voltage to reach a maximum voltage. As seen in figure 5, there
seems to be a greater amount of voltage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this experiment there were surprising results for how the individual muscles build up and uses
energy with recruitment can elucidate why it is important to see how the muscle attempts to remain
efficient with such a use. There seemed to be no tetany reached, and it helped understand that it must
have been a research error because there is enough literature that explains how the mechanism of such
a motor unit recruitment occurs. This just indicated that it is important to double check all lab
equipment to avoid researcher error. It seems that both the direct vs indirect experiment and the
frequency experiment indicated the importance of the Henneman s principle of motor recruitment.
Last but not least, tubocurare seemed to behave like a classic competitive inhibitor where there
seemed to be a point where it was not as effective at competing for the acetylcholine receptors, and
thus resulted in an decrease in the rate of how much tubocurare was taken up as seen in figure 4. All
these different aspects that play a role in skeletal muscle movement imply that there needs to be a lot
of conjunction between so minute aspects of the muscle and the motor

Comparing Bonnie And Clyde
Everybody loves a good rebel. Throw a love story in with it and bam you ve got yourself a great
plotline. What makes it even better is if it is a true account. This story of Bonnie and Clyde has
survived through the ages and the critics by surpassing any movie that had been done on the killer duo
before it. It was the American dream that had a deadly ending. It did not end well for them much like
it hadn t for most chasing the dream of prosperity. And while Bonnie and Clyde may not have gotten
their prosperity they did gain the fame they so wished for. This blood drenched movie changed
America with it s violence, sex symbols, and the hero s journey in ways we can still see today on the
big screen.
Through out the movie you see violence. That, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are also the good guys. But I think that this movie takes a look at the Hero s Journey a little bit
differently. The hero in this story would be Bonnie. In the beginning she is living in an ordinary world.
She wants a life of adventure but does not know how to go about this. Then there is that call to
Adventure. I believe that Clyde would be Bonnie s call. He is young, fit, charismatic. He falls in her
sexual range. But Bonnie wants a dangerous man. You just have to look at her husband to know she
wants a bad boy. Clyde has all of that, seeing as that he was in jail, and was still a thief. He also
carried a gun. This was alluring to Bonnie. There is not much of a refusal of the call. She is lured right
away. She does learn some about him but still ends up running away with him. Then you have meeting
the mentor. The mentor in this story would also have to be Clyde. He has experience is being a thief
and a criminal. He knows how to use a gun in which he teaches Bonnie. He also shows her how to pull
off a robbery. There then is crossing the threshold from where there is no return. Bonnie crosses this
threshold as soon as she runs away with Clyde and crosses from staying within the law and becomes
an outlaw. She commits herself to a life of crime. There are tests that Bonnie has to undergo. She has
to learn to be cool during robberies, car chases, and being shot at. She recruits C.W. who becomes part
of her gang. She also has to be contend with the enemies she gains which fall from the law
enforcement to Blanche. Then we come to the approach to the inmost cave. With this it is the
reference to their inevitable death. Which would be violent. And we see Bonnie handle this with
acceptance. After we see the ordeal. It is the fill arc of Bonnies crime. It was fun in the beginning then
it becomes deadly. When they start killing more and more people the violent becomes frequent.

Persuasive Essay On Why Dogs Are Great Pets
Puppy Love
Imagine walking in the door after a long day; your furry loving puppy is sprinting towards you so
excited to see you after missing you all day. Your puppy is ready to grab your attention and distract
you from the terrible day you ve had, comforting you in the process. Dogs are great pets because of
their comforting nature, playfulness and protective tendencies.
Puppy snuggles and dog kisses are comforting when life is stressful. Dogs are loving to the families
they live with and are very compassionate creatures. Puppies and dogs are good at cheering you up
when you are down. Dogs are also super loyal to their owners so they want to do anything they can to
make you feel better on a rough day. Not only are dogs comforting once you get home, the knowledge

Dogs are a lot like little kids begging for your attention except they want you to play tug of war or
throw a tennis ball. While some people may say dogs are too time consuming and need too much
attention it is very easy to find a dog breed that is more laidback or to play with you energetic dog by
throwing a ball from the couch. The great thing about dogs is there is a dog out there for everyone and
there are ways to fulfill the playtime your dog need without ever having to get up yourself if you are
too tired or just aren t in the mood. In contrast, getting up and playing with a dog is not just fun for the
dog it is also fun for the owner. Playing with your dog is not just fun, but can be good exercise.
Running back and forth with a puppy or dog can be tiring but is also tons of fun. Additionally, having
your excited dog by your side is much more motivating to keep running and playing than a treadmill
constantly alerting you of how long it has been and how far you have left to go. All the fun times and
enthusiasm a puppy or dog provides while playing is another reason dogs are great

Title: Rangers Report
Welcome to the first week of Rangers Report, where I will take a look at some of the past
performances by players in the past week, and do a quick little recap on how the past week has gone
for the team.
The Rangers will need strong performances night in and night out in order to make the playoffs. Every
game is incredibly critical, and the difference between winning the AL West and gaining a Wild Card
spot is huge. If the Rangers win the West, then they will be guaranteed a spot in the ALDS where they
will get to play in a five game series. If they only get a WC spot, then they will find themselves in a
one game playoff, which anything can happen in a one game playoff. Not only that, but Cole

He commanded the srikezone, walking no one, and kept A s hitters off balance all night. Of the 29
batters he faced, he struck out four and induced 17 batters to fly out. Lewis is at his best when he is
able to get hitters to hit lazy popups, and that is exactly what he did this past week.
Cold: Delino DeShields
I m a huge DeShields fan, what he has brought to the table has been absolutely huge for the Rangers.
His ability to swipe bags and be a threat on the base paths is something this lineup needed, and he has
certainly brought it. That being said, DeShields has struggled over the course of the past week.
DeShields is hitting a putrid .154 (2 for 13) with a double and two runs scored. His six strikeouts in
the past five games is also a cause for concern, especially when you consider the speed he possesses.
That speed being said, it is also a little alarming that he hasn t had a stolen base over the past ten
games. But not all hope is lost for DeShields, as he has an OBP of .353 over the past week. So while
he is still getting on base, you would love to see him generating a few more chances.

1. Corporate malfeasance is defined as deceptive and/or fraudulent activities carried out by corporate
officers. Usually the CEO is held responsible for corporate problems, but a firm s board is essential to
preventing malfeasance and ensuring that management acts with integrity. I would describe some of
Messier s actions as corporate malfeasance. For example, Messier repurchased a significant amount of
Vivendi Universal s stock (i.e., 6.4 billion Euros from 2001 2002) to fund employee stock option
grants. Because Messier was so focused on the firm s stock, his focus was not on the firm s financial
stability nor did he make the best use of excess cash. Further, the accounting rules used were
questionable, as Vivendi Universal used, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Messier was dedicated to Americanizing the firm, taking away from its French heritage. When
Messier decided to sell off Vivendi Environment, the parent company s most profitable business, to
finance a deal with USA Networks he continued to transform the firm into a media first business
neglecting the firm s water supply roots. Now the parent company was left with debt and many
overvalued assets. Vivendi Universal would eventually have to write down significant amounts due to
excessive goodwill estimates from acquisitions. Messier was stubborn. He declared that these loses
were not reflective of the company s sound operations and tried to blame Lescure, the decision maker
for Canal Plus, for the parent company s business failure, deeming Canal Plus as a tumor for Vivendi
Universal. All in all, Messier was adamant in keeping to the story that his firm was in good financial
position, and, because he had the support of board members (who he had initially appointed), others
believed this story as well. His persistence in growing the business fogged his perception of reality he
was managing a failing business. It is clear that Messier did a poor job as CEO.
3. Messier was a victim of bad timing, however, his failure as a CEO should not only be attributed to
poor timing. Yes, the dot.com bubble burst during his tenure, which may have caused him to over
value some acquired firms. Other issues

Summary Of Afonso I s Letter To John III Of Portugal
One course reading that reflects the ideas and themes of the documentary is Afonso I s Letter to John
III of Portugal. In his letter, Afonso expressed his anger toward the Portuguese merchants who
overstepped their boundaries and sold his people as slaves, regardless of whether they could actually
be sold as slaves. He was also frustrated that the merchants only sought profit and sold products that
were prohibited, and, as a result, the people of Kongo bought wares from the merchants rather than
from other citizens, which hurt the economy of the country. Additionally, he emphasized his desire to
maintain a friendly trading relationship because of the importance of European goods and guns in
securing his position as king. This letter describes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his letter, Columbus praised the land and the natives in the New World, knowing that his letter
would have likely been seen by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. He also knew that if they
approved of the colonization of the land, he would receive more funding and would get to keep ten
percent of the revenue achieved from the land. Columbus also highlighted the natives lack of
weapons, stating, They have no iron, nor steel, nor weapons, nor are they fit for them... In addition, he
claimed that they were very timid and seemed to think he was a god, meaning they were very
compliant and easy to enslave. Similarly, Guns, Germs, and Steel notes that the Spanish conquered the
Inca empire in their quest for gold and glory. It also mentions the importance of guns and steel swords
in their conquest. Furthermore, as previously mentioned, it acknowledges the enslavement of natives
in both Africa and South America. Both the letter and the documentary look at Europeans desire for
wealth through colonization and conquest. Additionally, both emphasize Europeans use of guns and
steel for advanced weapons, while those in the New World were at a disadvantage with their simpler
weapons or lack thereof. Finally, as with Afonso I s letter, both examine the ease of enslaving natives

Interracial Jim Crow Laws
The most prevalent laws to appear not just in the South but, most of the United States dealt with
marriage, with a total of sixteen states outlawing the act. Interracial marriage was an unforgiving
crime, they were considered null and void, and could be punished by a fine and up to ten years in jail.
The laws wording varied from state to state, not just outlawing marriage between white and black but
also, between whites and almost any nonwhite race. One eighth of any nonwhite blood could define a
person as not white and had the ability to make marriages void in many states. The most famous

Even though the South s backwardness was on display for the entire country to see, there were still
those who refused to give up their style of life. African Americans of southern states continued during
this violent time to demand equal and fair treatment. Jim Crow laws defined them as second class
citizens, required them to continue to be subservient to whites. They were unable to receive proper
health care, they had to live in certain sections of town, and were forced to withstand abuse of all
nature without protection from law enforcement. Through these times though, civil rights groups, such
as the NAACP and movements continued to face the dangers of a hostile Southern population. In their
way stood hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan and the White Citizens Council, ready to fight for their
beliefs. Jim Crow laws were held up at not only the state levels but, also, the federal government.
Even through adversity, the call for real freedom was heard. Many African American and even whites
were inspired by great leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and little Linda Brown. The courage of
the African American community during Jim Crow can be summed up by Harper Lee, Real courage

The Impressions Of The Russian Conflict In Ukraine And The...
Since Russia s annexation of Ukraine s Crimea, tensions have been high in the international
community regarding how to best cope with Russian aggressions. Although many NATO and other
institutions have moved to assist Ukraine retrieving its territory, the international communities main
goal is a demilitarization zone in between the Ukraine and Russia to prevent further conflicts.
Although NATO has preferred to use economic and political routes to deter Russian aggression, it is
clear to the Ukrainian decision makers that this route will not have their desired effect of retaking
Crimea. For Ukraine, regaining the city of Crimea is the only way to keep Russian aggression in check
and to create relative peace in that region. Recently, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in 2010, Yanukovych was finally elected, steering Ukraine economically and politically
closer with Russia. Yanukovych was also responsible for Ukraine s backing away from joining the
EU, causing mass protest throughout Ukraine s citizens, resulting in his impeachment. This strife is
what allowed Russia to invade Crimea following their vote, as Ukraine was at a point of political
weakness. Due to Russia and Ukraine sharing a border and historical ties of unity, their economies
have also become conjoined, creating a reliance on each other. According to Hromadske International,
Russia and Ukraine s territorial proximity and integrated Soviet era economy means that both
countries economies are largely intertwined (Dunnet Web). In regards, Ukraine, along with other
countries in the EU, relies heavily on gas from Russia. Recently, Russia wanted Ukraine to pay off its
gas debts about 5.3 billion and cut off Ukraine s supply until a debt was paid. Ukraine had been
struggling to afford the gas prices as a steep rise occurred after Yanukovych signed a reduced deal on
gas with Russia. When Russia cut off Ukraine s supply, EU nations were greatly affected as well. The
Russian gas lines run through Ukraine into EU nations, meaning the cutoff of Ukraine s supply meant
no gas for EU nations as well. This caused support and assistance for Ukraine from the EU. Although

A zero voltage and zero current switching full bridge (FB) converter with secondary resonance is another method in this primary side of the converter have FB insulated gate bipolar transistors, which are driven by phase shift control and secondary side is composed of a resonant tank and a half wave rectifier [6]. Without an auxiliary circuit, zero voltage switching and zero current switching are achieved in the entire operating range. In this without using additional inductor, the leakage inductance of the transformer is utilized as the resonant inductor. It has many advantages, including high efficiency, minimum and number of devices this topology is attractive for high voltage and high power applications. For closed loop speed control operation, in current control loop, three phase stator current information is required. The current sensors and the associated accessories increase the complexity of the system, cost and size of the motor drives and decrease the reliability of the system and also more number of power electronics switches means more switching losses and costly. Therefore to overcome this problem a new drive system is proposed which uses four switches and two current sensor, less switches and less current sensors means less switching losses and low cost. In this paper, the PWM technique is therefore proposed to minimize the torque ripple and designed to overcome the disadvantages from other torque ripple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Psychoanalytic Criticism Scope Of Hamlet Hamlet is one the best known works of Willian Shakespeare, a play that emphasizes revenge, as one of the major topics . The main character hamlet is driven by all of this revenge matter , and ends up physically killing 2 people, Claudius and Polonius, as well as indirectly causing the deaths of 5 other characters throughout the play. It is a Play that leaves us with uncertainty and doubts , we can go either way, we could see hamlet as a protagonist who seeks justice for his father s murder or an antagonist, because let s be realistic it is a bit extreme all the deaths he cause just to avenge one person. I chose to look at hamlet through the psychoanalytic criticism scope. I will attempt to demonstrate how his id, ego, and super ego influenced In his behavior and decision on murdering his uncle, and the problems he confronted while attempting to accomplish his fathers will to do so. Hopefully, we can make a decision after being presented hamlet through this new perspective. First we can analyze hamlet being devastated by his fathers death. It is only fair to understand the pain he must have felt, and on top of that he is supposed to be the heir to the throne of Denmark. Instead, his uncle takes it from him by marrying his mother, Gertrude, so quick. By looking through the psychoanalytic lens, we first look at his id or unconscious, which are our most desired dreams or hopes that are deep within our mind, also known as the pleasure principle: is the ... This question seems to loom in the one s mind after reading Flannery O Connor s two stories, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People . Not only does O Connor portray gruesome imagery throughout both stories, she also incorporates aspects of religion. What makes these stories captivating is the element of pure shock during the climax. Nevertheless, the short stories both help the readers visualize how judging others or jumping to conclusions about certain individuals can have a dramatic conclusion. O Connor enlightens the readers about how judging a book by its cover or jumping to certain conclusions about others can be fatal. This is shown in Good Country People when the main character Hulga gets too comfortable with a bible salesman named Manley Pointer. Even though Pointer seems simple or of good country people , he is the polar opposite. In fact, he has a secret identity and cons disabled women. However, the reader does not understand this shocking twist until Pointer gets close to Hulga and convinces her that they are in love just to steal her prosthetic leg. This states that wo not only have a Father in Heaven, but we also have a Heavenly Mother who is being revealed in the Last Days to give us eternal life. Jesus came to this Earth about two thousand years ago and he taught his disciples the way through which they could receive salvation, that is, the Passover (Jn 6:53.) Even at that time hecould have given eternal life and taken them to Heaven, but instead he told them to wait until the Last Days (Jn 6:54.) This is because that is the time Heavenly Mother appears. In Matthew 22:1 10 Jesus told a parable, in which he compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. Being invited to thewedding banquet is the same as being invited to the Kingdom of Heaven. To have a wedding there must be a groom, a bride, and guests. In the parable there is a groom, and guests, but no bride even thoughthe bride is the most important piece of a wedding. This is because she was not ready at Jesus s firstcoming, but at his second coming. That s why Revelations 19:7 NIV says Let us rejoice and be glad and give him Glory! For the wedding of the Lamb(Christ) has come, and his bride has made herself ready! The bride is ready in the Last Days. • 12. The Woman Behind Every Man Matthew Lee Mrs. Wong ENG 3UAA a 16 July 2015 The Woman Behind Every Man Can it be argued that men play a bigger role than women in life? Through the centuries, women are seen as less valuable than their sexual counterparts, but time and time again, females have proven themselves as being just as intellectually capable as men. This concept is present in William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, which is a tragic play demonstrating the effects of absolute power and corruption. The characters, especially the women, are heavily influential and greatly impactful in the growth of others. Lady Macbeth s actions greatly shape and develop the personality and motivations of Macbeth, leading to his ultimate demise. Although Duncan dies at the hand of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth plays a key role in manipulating him to complete the murder. Following the news that her husband will soon become king, Lady Macbeth realizes she does not want to wait. She wants to be queen as soon as possible and for Macbeth to be successful, but she is aware that Macbeth is not capable of killing King Duncan. Thus, Lady Macbeth takes it upon herself to convince her husband that killing the king is just, which is present in her soliloquy as she says, Hi thee hither, That I may pour my spirits in thine ear, And Chastise with the valour of my tongue All that impedes thee from the golden round, (1.4.24 27) Macbeth has the ambition for power. Distributed Leadership and Social Justice Leadership Theory The research speaks to the eight symbolic roles of leaders; here the school leader serves as a historian examining the challenges of the internal and external school culture. Terrence E. Deal and Kent D. Their interests and actions send powerful messages. They signal the values they hold. Above all else, leaders are cultural teachers in the best sense of the word. (Deal Peterson, 1990, p. 201) For that reason, the principal and school administrators will be visible and visiting classrooms, making rounds, and attending and participating in community events. The Rationale Behind Nursing Interventions Introduction: Mrs. Pink, aged 75 was admitted to the orthopaedic ward after suffering a fall at home, resulting in an intracapsular fracture of the hip at the femoral neck. Mrs. Pink has a history of cancer and cardiac diseases and has severe rheumatoid arthritis. Due to ageing patients putting a great deal of strain on the health care system, the incidences of hip fractures in the elderly are a major concern and requires careful consideration regarding treatment. Known as a major cause of disability in the elderly, hip fractures and their subsequent need for surgery result in chronic pain and an altered quality of life (Strike, Sieber, Gottschalk Mears, 2013). Although important to improve a patient s quality of life and physical independence, pain related to a total hip replacement (THR), also known as hip arthroplasty (HA) can lead to delays in ambulation, longer hospital stays, poor functional outcomes and quality of life.
