The temperature affects most reactions and increases there rates unless the reaction uses an
enzyme that only is effective up to or down to a certain temperature. This change has this effect
because it increases collision rate and speed so more collisions with the correct reaction energy
occur so more successful collisions occur increasing the reaction rate. The pressure is an
important factor in gas reactions because the gas concentration is proportional to pressure. The
use of a catalyst affect reaction rate by lowering the reaction enthalpy making the proportion of
successful collisions higher. Surface area of reactants is a key variable because a higher surface
area provides a higher chance of 2 reactants colliding and producing a successful reaction.
Activation enthalpy: I just talked a lot about activation enthalpy I will now explain what is meant
by this. Activation enthalpy is the minimum amount of kinetic energy required by a pair of
colliding particles for a reaction to occur. it is the amount of energy required for the particles of the
reactants to break the bonds holding them

First-Round Running Back Case Study
Tier 1: Potential First Round Running Backs | Todd Gurley, David Johnson, Lamar Miller,
Ezekiel Elliot, Adrian Peterson What Gurley can do for you is simple: break games open. He s
the type of running back that can have six points going into the fourth quarter, until he rushes for
a 60 yard touchdown and changes your fortunes in one play. You don t need to say much about
him. The Rams offensive line and wide receivers aren t special, and their quarterbacks are far
from even pedestrian (including No. 1 pick Jared Goff), but the Rams have Gurley. David Johnson

He has gotten his playing weight down, back to where he dominated at Alabama in college and
his rookie season with the Packers. The usually prolific Green Bay offense struggled last year
with Jordy Nelson out and Lacy on a drive thru diet. The Packers running back is expected to
pick up where he left off in 2014 as a RB1. C.J. Anderson should get a bigger workload. We
expected him to get a big workload last year; but this year, he may have finally put the threats of
Ronnie Hillman and now Devontae Booker to bed. The Broncos matched Miami s offer sheet
for Anderson and likely wouldn t have done that without being confident in him as their bell cow
back post Peyton Manning. Mark Sanchez at quarterback, or Trevor Siemian for that matter,
wont be much of a downgrade as Manning was a game manager by the end of last season.
Anderson should get a ton of touches in a Gary Kubiak offense that ran Arian Foster like a
thoroughbred in Houston. With Carlos Hyde, it comes down to health. San Francisco head
coach Chip Kelly loves to force feed his tailbacks, and Hyde is his most talented offensive player.
But to make an impact, you have to be in cleats. Hyde could be a top 5 running back with a large
workload, if he can stay on the

combined DNA index system, it was created by the FBI and is maintained by them as well. The
purpose of this databank of DNA is to help in investigations with linking samples to a suspect and
to help a forensic lab match samples faster than before it was created. A CODIS search only
allows access to certain pieces of information like; an identification to a lab, a sample identification
number, the specific DNAcharacteristics or markers, and the specific of the integrity of the DNA

Reflection On Math Lesson
What? For my second lesson, I taught a math lesson on multiplying decimals with zeros in the
product. I wanted students to be able to show that they could multiply with decimals in the
product and I wanted them to be able to explain how they know where to add the decimal point
in the answer. This lesson was part of the unit over decimals. Students will learn to add them,
subtract, multiply, divide, and then take a test for the unit. I decided to teach this lesson
because this is what my teacher had planned for the day and needed me to teach to keep her on
track for the test. Honestly, I was excited to teach a math lesson because it was a great refresher
for me. Overall, I was very satisfied with the way the lesson went. The students were
understanding the instruction I delivered and were giving the answers I had hoped for. The
students were on task and engaged for the entire lesson and when they weren t engaged, I could
draw or mention sticks and I would get more active participation. Before I asked students to work
independently or with a partner, I modeled exactly what they should be doing and how they should
do it. This made a huge difference from my first lesson because there was no confusion. When I
had one students come up to the board and share their answer, everyone in the class had the same
answer. While I was formatively checking their understanding, this told me that the way I was
teachingwas working because they all understood the problem. I really can not think of anything
that did not go as I had planned or that I was not happy with. Although, there was one point
where my math was wrong because I was not thinking logically. I need to make sure I slow down
while I am teaching to check my own work so I am not teaching the students incorrect
information! The only change I would try and make if I taught this lesson again would be to find a
way to make it more engaging and less teaching instruction out of the book. I feel that with math
this is sometimes challenging, but I think it could be done. Even though I did use multiple means
of representation by doing a whole class discussion, partner work, and independent work, I could
have found maybe a more hands on activity for the students to

Whitetail Deer Research Paper
A young deer is walking through the woods. All of the sudden its mother is shot. Many people
know the story of the fawn named Bambi. However, many don t know much about his kind, the
whitetail deer. Many people only think of deer as an animal to hunt and eat its meat, but it s much
more. In order to fully understand the whitetail deer, one must understand its complex anatomy, its
interesting way of mating, and its simple diet.
The whitetail deer, or Odocoileus virginianus, is a mammal in the cervidae family. Because of this,
they are one of the few creatures with antlers. Antlers are projections from the head that are
connected to, and part of, the skull. Antlers vary in size and contrary to popular belief, are based on
genetics and not health. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mating rituals begins with a rut. Ruts start with males proving their dominance with a grunt
snort wheeze pattern. Then the males begin to fight each other by attacking each other with
their antlers. They do this to earn the right to every doe in the area. Each doe usually have one
fawn in its first mating season, but will likely have twins in each of the following years. Fawns
are born with white spots on their backs making them easy to see. Does are very protective of
their newborn fawns, only leaving them for short intervals to graze for food. When the mother is
absent, the fawn will lay motionless on the forest floor, camouflaged from predators (American
Expedition 2017). After one month the fawn will start to follow the mother around. One to two
months later it will lose the white spots. Fawns mature at one year be will not be mated until they
are 18 months old. In the wild the deer will grow to be around six feet tall and weigh about 200
pounds. However the largest deer recorded are found in their native regions of Minnesota and
Ontario.
Even though whitetail deer can grow to large sizes they don t even eat meet to do it. Deer are
strictly herbivores that don t even chew. A deer s stomach consists of four chambers. Because of
this, they can eat some poisonous mushrooms that are lethal to humans. However, deer mainly eat
legumes, shoots, and members of the grass family. Deer use

President Of The United States
His power, his passion, is the fabric of America. And it s woven by work ethic and dreams and
drive and faith in the Almighty, what a combination. (S, Palin) Donald Trump is powerful,
persuasive and risky. As a candidate for President of the United States, Trump stands strong to
purported morals. His campaign video depicts him as the ultimate candidate ; an individual is
who has the ability to stand up for middle class American s yet be strong enough to institute
change, which the Obama administration has been perceived as failing to do. However we are
also able to see how Trump has used his power to shape his ideal self into something he is not.
Someone who uses codes and signifiers in his favour to fabricate new ideas and conventions.
Donald Trump has a strident voice, but those who stand with him appear silent in stark contrast.
The reason for this being that Trump s campaign, even down to his fan base, is centred on
oppression. His goal is to appeal to middle class, white citizens who feel that they have been
deprived of the American Dream. That is; the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal
opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative
(Oxford Dictionaries). He targets this subgroup and directs their resentment to the people who have
tarnished this American Dream . For example, Trump has voiced that he wants to deport all
Mexicans and build a wall between the borders demonstrating his strong motive to

Court Operations At The Plantation Key Government Center
I observed court operations at the Plantation Key Government Center in Tavernier, Florida twice:
on October 7th and November 4th. I observed Chief Circuit Judge Carlos Garcia in courtroom A.
The courthouse is located in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida and it s a state trial court with
general jurisdiction. The first visit was cut short, in part because it was a lighter criminal day
than planned, but also I was flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism that was present in this
courtroom. I m not sure if it s a court in Paradise problem, or something that is observed at other
courtrooms, however, I m disappointed in what I saw. Lack of professionalism was evident
during both visits from the actors and their actions in the courtroom. On October 7th I was
present at the courthouse from 8: 45 am 10: 45 am. During that initial visit, I was very nervous;
since it is a small courthouse I stood out like a sore thumb. I was over dressed in comparison to
the other actors that were present, even though I was wearing slacks, an FIU Honor s Polo, and
flats. The Assistant State Attorney was Demetrios Efstratiou who was at least professionally
dressed. There was Public Defenders present, but I did not catch their names, nor could I locate
them on the Internet. Both gentlemen were dressed professionally as well. The only actor during
this visit that was dressed unprofessionally was a private defense attorney Jessica Reilly, who is a
partner at one of the bigger firms in Key

Frida Kahlo s Painting The Two Fridas
Frida Kahlo was an astonishing Mexican artist, who mainly painted self portraits after the fact
she had a bus accident. When the bus accident happened Frida Kahlo was stabbed by a steel
handrail, which went all the way through her hip, which was a serious fracture and left her in the
hospital for several weeks in the hospital to recover. The only good outcome out of this was that
during her recovery time she used her time painting so her talent came out to the world. She was
married to another great Mexican artist, Diego Riverawho was consider a muralist at the time. He
was also a great influence when she started painting. One of her paintings, The Two Frida s,

The Roman Catholic Church During The Middle Ages
The Roman Catholic Church was the only church during the middle ages. It had very large funds
and its own set of laws. The Church, as some even considered very wealthy, had many sources of
income and it accounted for one third of the land in England. Breaking away from this entity that
dominated most of the western world and once bound everyone together for thousands of years
seemed inconceivable. It controlled religion, art, music, morals and even politics. There was truly
no alternative and anyone who went against or defied the church was known as a heretic or pagan
and was burned at the stake. Catholics began losing faith over time with the expanding influence of
Humanism and corruption in the church. This sparked the Protestant Reformation,... Show more

This mindset was precisely the reason for many objections from John Calvin and Martin Luther. As
head of the Catholic Church, popes in the middle ages were deeply religious men. Part of the
responsibility of being Pope meant dealing with the political world that surrounded them. They
were recognized as supreme ruler over religious and political matters in their entirety. Pope Boniface
VII in 14th century said, We declare, state, define and pronounce that for every human creature to
be subject to the Roman pope is altogether necessary for salvation. Each of them had their different
strengths and weaknesses, but all operated under the mental structure of the church and family.
They certainly hoped for reform, but they absolutely believed the office of the Pope should lead that
particular reform and remain the supreme head of the Church. As stated, Luther and Calvin held
great opposition to this

Causes And Treatment Of Infective Endocarditis
Before discussing Infective Endocarditis, it s imperative to understand where the endocardium is
along with its function because endocarditis affects this area of the heart. The Endocardium is the
innermost layer of heart tissue that lines the cavities and valves of the heart and is composed of
loose epithelial and connective tissue. The endocardium regulates contractions of the heart and
helps regulate the composition of the bloodthat feeds the tissues of the heart (Kenney, 2015).
Infective Endocarditis, IE, is an infection of the endocardium that generally occurs when bacteria or
germs from another part of the body, such as the mouth, spread through the bloodstream and attach
to damaged areas in the heart (Endocarditis Definition, 2015). Individuals that have an increased
risk of developing Endocarditis include:
Those with Pacemakers or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)
Individuals with existing conditions of the heart valves
HIV (What Increases Your Risk of Endocarditis?, 2015).
Diabetes Mellitus and long term hemodialysis (Infective endocarditis in adults, 2001).
According to the American Heart Association, endocarditis affects twice as many men as women
and eight times as many older men as older woman. More than a quarter of all cases occur in
individuals that are older than 60 years of age (Heart Valves and Infective Endocarditis, 2014). In
the United States alone, national data indicated that in 2009 there were up to 28,000 hospital

In the Food and Agriculture sector there is a CARVER and Shock vulnerability assessment tool.
This is target critical when there are new threat agents introduced into locations that would have
a significant health or economic impact. The C in CARVER is intended to address the critical
criteria runs on a ten point scale starting with one to two equating to a no loss of life or less than
$100 million dollars, and nine to ten equaling loss of over 10,000 lives or the loss of $100
billion. The A is for accessibility to address when the attacker can reach the target to conduct attack
and egress for the target. R is recuperability which is used to measure the time to recover
productivity ranging from one month through more than one year. Vulnerability is the measure of
the ease in which the threat agents can be introduced in quantities significant to achieve the
purpose once the target is reached. Effect is the percentage of productivity damaged by an attack at
a single facility inversely related to the number of facilities that produce to product. Recognizability
is the degree the target can be identified by an attacker without confusion with other targets or
components. The Shock tool is broken in to a combined measure of health, psychological, and
collateral national economic impact. It is also run on a ten point scale beginning with no historical,

Role Of Cosine In The Simpsons
In this project I was able to utilize my knowledge about functions in order to create an image that
represent the cosine and sine graphs as well as other trigonometric graphs. Moreover, this project
was really amusing because I had the opportunity to draw an image that represent the given graphs.
The reason I choose to do this image was first based on the cartoonish character Bart of the famous
animated comedy The Simpsons. After analyzing the character, I change many of its features such
as the mouth, nose, eyebrows, and other elements. Furthermore, I changed the eyebrows and nose
and convert them into cosine curves. Similarly, I changed the mouth, hair and the sleeves of the

Methods Of Procurement Of Housing Project
The following summary will outline the feasible techniques used to estimate cost based on the
already chosen traditional method of procurement of housing project, whilst also tying in with the
main stages within the RIBA Plan of Works 2013 in an endeavour to explore the key tasks,
participants involved and their roles as per topic stage.
The RIBA Plan of Works 2013 Stages:
Stage 0 : Strategic Definition
The clients requirement is for the construction of a two story, three bedroom detached house within
the west midlands region. This is the projects realisation stage which is in place to ensure that the
proposed business case has been fully considered for development constraints, the projects
sustainability, preparation of feasibility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The participants include the client and appointed professional lead consultants for aiding in the
assembling of the project team. A report by Sir Latham, M (1994) states that professional
consultants should be selected on a basis which properly recognises quality as well as price This
selection model is important because in order for a project to be successful, a compatible team
needs to be put together.
The mode of estimation that is suitable for this stage is based on the approximation technique of
functional unit rate. The ball park budget cost is refined by using a past but similar project contract
price whilst also taking into account its closest location and date. An example is set in appendix()
Approximate floor area = 114m2 Building cost ВЈ1,122 /m2 = ВЈ127 899
[2Q2016 TPI =282 (F) / 4Q2008 TPI = 240 (previous)] x Building cost ВЈ127 899 (See appendix )
Projects estimated budget cost = ВЈ150 281
Stage 2 : Concept Design
Design sketches and a further refined budget estimate with the aid of an elemental cost plan
technique are drafted. Greenhalgh, B (2013 p 85) illustrates the element cost method within a
hierarchy of estimating data that can be used in relation to the cost per square meter of individual
elements ( see appendix) An example is set below with reference to (appendix ) that illustrates an
approximate element cost per square meter of the detached house.
Projects estimated budget cost = ВЈ150 281 has

Qualitative Interview
The article titled learning to interview in the social sciences makes a valid point that as
interviewers we can never ensure what will happen during an interview. To some degree
interviewing for the social sciences and the purpose of research resembles clinical intake

opinion the qualitative interview while it may develop a different ebb and flow than research

both have the same aim in mind; to collect, interpret, and analysis data on some level. The findings

previous articles, interviewees also benefit from this experience. As interviewers and researchers it
is true that we are making some private details public, we do so in hoping to benefit other
individuals in similar situations. While I understand the perspective on manipulation, every

Primal Fear Gregory Hoblit
Primal Fear (1996)
Primal Fear is a neo noir crime thriller directed by Gregory Hoblit, based on William Diehl s novel
of the same name. It follows a Chicago defence attorney, Martin Vail (Richard Gere) as he defends
a 19 year old choir boy (Edward Norton) who is accused of murdering an influential Archbishop.
The split personality is portrayed, like many other films using the trope, through dialogue. When
Aaron is giving his statement, he describes how he loses time or blacks out, which he said he
did after he saw the Archbishop s dead body. Later when he is explaining his blackouts to a
psychiatrist (Frances McDormand), his alter ego Roy appears. Unlike Aaron, Roy is very abrasive

The use of editing in the scene towards the end of the film, where Aaron is being tried in court, the
camera cuts between him on the stand trying to contain himself and the prosecutor (Laura
Linney) trying to get him to confess. This use of editing demonstrates the conflict that is
happening in the scene between both Aaron and Roy and Aaron and the prosecutor. The pace of
the editing picks up when Roy comes forward and attacks the prosecutor, showing his violent
behaviour through quick cuts. The pace slows back down when he becomes Aaron again, which
in addition to the lack of a soundtrack, shows the shock the character feels at what he just did. As
Dancyger (2013, pg373) says, Pace is most obvious in action sequences, but all sequences are
shaped for dramatic effect. Variation in pace guides viewers in their emotional response to the film.

The Ebola Virus
The Ebola Virus
A virus is an ultramicroscopic infectious organism that, having no independent metabolic activity,
can replicate only within a cell of another host organism. A virus consists of a core of nucleic
acid, either RNA or DNA, surrounded by a coating of antigenic protein and sometimes a lipid
layer surrounds it as well. The virus provides the genetic code for replication, and the host cell
provides the necessary energy and raw materials. There are more than 200 viruses that are know to
cause disease in humans. The Ebola virus, which dates back to 1976, has four strains each from a

Close contact and dirty needles spread the Ebola virus. The center of the epidemic in Zaire
involved a missionary hospital where they reused needles and syringes without sterilization. Most
of the staff of the hospital got sick and died. This outbreak infected 318 with a death rate of 93% (Le

ever became of it. The most recent case recorded was the infamous breakout in Kikwit, Zaire. This
breakout had the world in an uproar about the possibility of this virus spreading out globally. This
outbreak appeared to have started with a patient who had surgery in Kikwit on April 10,
1995. Members of the surgical team then developed symptoms similar to those of a viral
hemorrhagic fever disease (Ebola Info. from the CDC 2). From there, the disease spread to more
than 300 others. The most frequent symptoms at the onset were fever (94%), diarrhea (80%), and

signs of bleeding occurred in 38% of cases (JAMA 274: 373). The World Heath Organization
declared on
August 24, 1995 that the outbreak of Ebola Zaire in Kikwit was officially over after killing 244 of
its 315 known victims ( Ebola Outbreak Officially Over 1).

This act states that the maximum penalty for damaging property is up to $24,000 and 2 years
prison time (State Graffiti Taskforce, 2016). Therefore, with such a high penalty, why would people
still commit this crime? The theories stated above could help present ideas to why youths graffiti
Although nothing is known about the vandals in both these reported crimes, they all chose to
vandalise and graffiti tags across school buildings, which can possibly link to both Cohen s and
also Cloward Ohlin s theories. These youths could ve experience some level of strain due to their
education and possible failure in the education system which lead to Cohen s delinquent solution in
where they joined with others in a similar situation and created their own gangs/subcultures
(Newburn, 2013. Pg. 198). Furthermore, this solution could ve lead to hostile feelings towards the
education system so they targeted schools and vandalised them through the use of graffiti to

Analysis Of Spielberg s Schindler s List Uses A Variety...
Spielberg s Schindler s List uses a variety of macro and micro techniques that are effective in
eliciting strong emotional response form the spectator. Unlike horror films, which rely on micro
techniques to create tension or foreshadowing, Spielberg relies on unconventional techniques that
are often juxtaposed to have the spectator feel unsettled. Despite not being a horror film, it is
compatible to through the lack of violence in the film and the context of the Holocaust. Therefore,
as a spectator, it is clear that horror in a horror movie differs greatly to horror in this particular
film because of Spielberg s raw and authentic style in making the spectator feel unease as the
narrative progresses.
Firstly, one of the most important scenes in the film is when a Jew pretends to be an officer to fool
the approaching Nazi guards. Spielberg s use of a wide shot has the spectator focus on the character
rummaging through the suitcases, which essentially builds the tension in the scene, as the focus on
the background of the Nazi guards approaching without the use of sound immediately triggers a
response of anxiety as the spectator feels they are to witness another massacre. This response of
anxiety is elevated further through the box like framing having Goeth on the left and his other
henchmen on the right, trapping the Jew who is in the middle. Like horror many films, the
directors choose to leave the audience guessing and using their imagination rather than just explore

My Reflection On My Parents Instilled
My parents instilled in me the importance of reading since a very early age. We formed a nightly
routine of reading every night before bed as soon as I started learning the basics of reading. I
enjoyed every moment of this; it was my favorite part of the day. The first book I was able to read
on my own was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. The feeling of success I had
after this accomplishment is as clear as day and I can still see myself as a five year old beaming
with joy when I could finally read a bookwithout assistance. In grade school, I was never the one
who was passionate about reading. However, when it came time to write a story, I was excited and
even wrote stories on my own. In third grade, my friends and I would write fictional stories
during lunchtime and present them to our teacher after recess. I can still remember the sense of
pride we felt when we saw the surprised and proud looks on our teacher s face. It made us want
to write more and more. But years went on, and I still never formed a fondness for recreational
reading. I ve been assigned more than five books a year in the past; some would catch my
interest, but never enough to pull me in as much as to read in my spare time. There were rare
occasions when I was really pulled into a book that was assigned to me. To this day I do not know
if that was because of the mere thought that I was not willingly reading the book, or just that I did
not have the patience for it. All

The Mystery Of Iniquity By Lauryn Hill
The audience may think the top of their heads might blow off, when first hearing the song
Mystery of Iniquity by Lauryn Hill. The album that the song was on (MTV Unplugged No. 2.0)

connect to relationships, politics, faith, and cultural criticism, but not like the famous Lauryn Hill.
The poetic devices in Lauryn Hill s Mystery of Iniquity reveal society s inevitable self destruction
through societal stigmas and stereotypes, justice system flaws, and religious references. To all the
people who said that hip hop had nothing important to say, and had not a lick of musical bone in
them, this song was a smack in the face to all the haters.

The Bronies And The Boony Phenomenon
The brony phenomenon creates a sense of conviviality for several men by opposing the stringent
expectations established by our society. As the show was not intended for people in their age
group, the bronies have secured an unexpected camaraderie with each other in effect from being
different from what society anticipated and hence attempting to create a more permissive culture.
Together these grown men, stuck in Erikson s fifth stage of development, have trouble discovering
a place for themselves in our conservative society. Applied by our conventional society, austere
expectations prompt Bronies to be stuck in a state of role bewilderness. Acting like adolescents,

The characters represent many things for the Bronies, such as honesty, kindness, generosity, and
loyalty thus giving much comfort to these flummoxed men. Since the ponies all depict a specific
character trait, the Bronies are able to picture themselves through the ponies. For typification, a
young man with Aspergers named Daniel can see himself through one of the stars of the show:
Twilight Sparkle. This pony is very intelligent, organized, kind, serious and anxious he saw himself
in that character. He felt a connection to that specific animated character. For people who have this
syndrome, it makes it much more difficult to interact in social situations, causing them to become
socially awkward. Instead of helping his condition, the cartoon impedes his condition. By projecting

people to ВЁassume an identity of convenienceВЁ in order to ВЁsuppress the anxietyВЁ that

Free Speech Essay
Free Speech
Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.
These words were spoken by Benjamin Franklin, one of our nation s founding fathers, when the
United States was still a newly independent country. Free speech, which is defined as the right to
express any opinion in public without censorship or restraint by the government, is a subject that is
still present in the minds of many people today. At one extreme of the spectrum is a group of folks
that do not care the slightest bit about free speech issues and at another end is a group of people

There are many different groups that choose to implement internet filtering software on computers
that they own. Among these groups are libraries, schools, employers, and parents. In December of
2000, the United States Congress passed the Children s Internet Protection Act (CHIPA), which is
legislation that forced public and private libraries as well as schools that are federally funded
through certain federal programs to install internet content blocking software for both child and
adult users alike. If libraries and schools that chose to implement the internet blocking technology
on their computers were compensated or benefited monetarily through additional government
subsidy would have been fine, but when the government is federally mandating censorship it is a
direct violation of individuals rights to free speech and expression guaranteed by the first
amendment of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution of the United States of America. In an
educational organizations letter to legislation, a strong opposition was expressed regarding the
mandated censorware in schools and libraries across the nation. Several points were made in
opposition to the internet content filters. The organization states that the new mandatory

The Effect Of Solar And On Earth
Most solar storms produce a variety of effects on our planet. The intensity of a solar storm
increase gradually, the storm can begin to develop the capacity to create a major disaster on
Earth. The variety of intensity of solar storm is like the difference between being hit with a
tropical rainstorm and being devastated by a Category 5 hurricane. Oak Ridge National
Laboratories estimated that only a solar storm just slightly stronger than the 13 March 1989 storm
would have the capacity to produce a cascading blackout involving the entire Northeastern sector
of the United States and other effect on the terrestrial biological systems. So the question is what
are the components of Solar Flares? How does it cause damages? What are they? Are there any
measures to mitigate the risks? This paper dissects and analyzes the various threats created by
Great solar storms and provide some Theorell experiences and research details that entail the

Solar Flares:
Definition and Impacts Introduction
Solar storms consist of three major components: solar flares, solar proton events (SPEs) and
coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs can interact with Earth s magnetic field to produce a
geomagnetic storm. Not all solar storms produce all three elements but the largest solar storms tend
to. (James. A Maruesk 2007) Recent scientific information indicates that an extreme solar storm

How Did Akhenaten Change Of Religion
Akhenaten
During the time of the new kingdom a powerful Pharaoh came into power.
Akhenaten, also known as Amenophis IV believed that only one god should rule universally, and
that god is known as the Aten. Akhenaten was the crucial changer of polytheism. Changing
polytheism to monotheism was an enormous impact on society back then and now. But, Nicholas
Reeves uses all sorts of evidence and opinions of his, to conclude that Akhenaten changed the
religion of Egypt. Historians have asked why Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt, and many
opinions have come into contact. Reeves argues that, even though Akhenaten was the founder a
new faith he desperately used the new religion for political uses. In an attempt to reassert the

Reeves interprets the changing of religion for political reasons, and it all started with Hatshepsut.
Thutmose III was the sixth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and was ruling co regent with his aunt
Hatshepsut. Akhenaten wanted to restore power in himself, not because he cared about his
people only because he thought the gods had more power than him. To fix that problem, he
wanted only one god, the Aten, to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was
changing beliefs for theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. From the start of
his reign, it was clear that Akhenaten was determined to change something, and was willing to
share his beliefs in monotheism. Pharaoh, it is clear, was a man with a mission; of rare
intelligence, recognizably well tutored in the theological minutiae...despite his age, he was certain
in his beliefs and determined to share them (91). There was a text discovered called the Great Hym
of Aten and it is a hieroglyphic text discovered in el Amrna in the tomb of Ay. It was believed to
have been written by Akhenaten himself translated by W.J. Murnane. Reeves points out that the
hym was rather a strong emphasis on how one should portray the nature of reality, and rather weak
connection between Aten and the kingdom. He also notes that the hym as well as many other texts,
never emphasize sympathy or kindness to the Egyptian people, and it only praises Aten and the
relationship with Akhenaten. Whom you have taught your ways and your might...you yourself are
lifetime, one lives by you. This is showing us how much praise Akhenaten is giving to the Aten and

Changes in the Role of Women Between the Sixteenth and the...
Over long periods of time change is often inevitable. One such instance of change throughout
history is that of family members and their role in not only the family, but also in society as a
whole. Although changes can be seen in the roles of every family member, it can be argued that the
role of women in the family, especially that of mothers, changed the most. Between the sixteenth
century and the twentieth century, the role that mothers played in the family and in society
changed greatly. Since the sixteenth century, one of the most important roles of mothers, or women
in general, was to have children. Although most women accepted this role and believed it was their
duty to have children, not every womanwas pleased with this... Show more content on

One common way in which the number of births was limited was by marrying late. Although this
provided some reduction in the number of children a woman had, once she was married she would
begin to have children at regular intervals.
While in general women during this time period gave birth to many children, social class had an
impact on just how many children a mother had. Prior to the nineteenth century, poor women had
fewer children than wealthy women even though at the time their role was the same; to procreate.
Some reasons as to why wealthy women had more children than poor women include health, loss
of husbands, and breast feeding. Poorer women were less likely than wealthy women to have
enough to eat. A lack of nutrients could result in amenorrhea and miscarriages as well as other
reproductive problems. Also, with the staggering death rates, women were likely to lose their
husbands before they reached menopause. While wealthy women would sometimes remarry for
economic or social reasons, poor women would commonly remain widows. Finally, wealthy
women were likely to put their babies out to wet nurses while poor women would usually nurse
their own children. Breast feeding actually reduces fertility after child birth leading to longer
intervals between pregnancies for poor women. By the nineteenth century, the role of mothers had
not changed in regard to the responsibility of bearing children. However, what did change was their
role in deciding

Japanese Religion
In what way(s) is Japanese religion as much a matter of practice as it is beliefs ? And, if applicable,
are you able to step back and find ways in which your own habits, practices, or ways of acting in
the world are perhaps more religious than you may have thought?
Japanese religion is not just one religion. Within the reading it says there are as many Japanese
religions as there are Japanese people. (PAGE 6) This means that in Japanese culture one does
not have to associate themselves with just one religion. The practices that the Japanese people
take part in are festivals. Families will attend festivals of all religions. The families will also take
beliefs of all religions and make it into their own way of life. Both are important to

Abuse Of Drug Abuse
Drug addiction within the healthcare has become a very important issue. Drug addicted Doctors
Health Care Professionals (2015) studied that doctors and other health care workers are addicted to
drugs in the same proportion as the general population (para, 1). Anesthesiologists, specifically,
continuously shows an increase rate of drug misuse. There are many factors that contribute to the
abuse of drugs to include: access to drugs, high stress environment, control oriented personality.
The main drugs that are being abused are fentanyl, sufentanil, merperidine, and morphine
(substance abuse among anesthesiologists, 2012). The abuse of drugs by medical professionals
causes many patient related problems. The burden of this issue is that diseases may be spreaded.
The way physicians get by with using drugs is they inject the patient first, then themselves, and
then the patient again. In combination to the dilemma of infection, there is the issue of patients
not getting all the drugs they require. When drugs are shared between a medical professional and
a patient, it is known as drug diversion, which signifies that the patient who genuinely needs the
sedative or anodyne, or both is not receiving a full dose. In a case study at Community Hospital

Blue Jays Case Study
The Toronto Blue Jays recent success, shown in large by the team s first playoff berth in
22 years, has boosted ticket prices at an exponential rate. Through the use of economic concepts and
the book Cocktail Party Economics, the change in prices can be explained further in depth.
While any Blue Jays enthusiast could tell that the price boost is due to the increase in the team s
popularity, one with a working knowledge of economics could explain that the price increase is a
factor of scarcity, demand equilibrium.
Scarcity, simply put, is the underlying reason why economics and markets exist: the fact that there
is not enough of a good for everyone who wants one to have one. In Cocktail Party
Economics, the author gives an example of having 10 stones that 20 different ... Show more content

There is a limited number of seats in a stadium, and thus there is a limit to the number of tickets to
sell, resulting in only the most dedicated and faithful fans paying large prices to see the playoff
games.
After the Jays improved performance in the regular season and the increased popularity of the
team, it would be easy to simply say that playoff tickets are in higher demand. However, we must
turn to economics to explain why demand has increased. Demand refers to how much of a good
the market will buy at any given price. For this reason, it is important to understand that price
changes, whether they be increasing or decreasing, do not change demand В they change the
quantity demanded. During the first half of the baseball season, the Blue Jays had a worse record
and were not expected to be in the playoff team for that simple reason that they rarely sold out
their games, despite the tickets being at a lower price point than present. However, today tickets
sell out mere hours after being put to market as consumer preferences changed in favour of the
team. Cocktail Party Economics gives the example of grocery stores stocking products with

Comparison Between Environmental Wackos And...
Environmental wackos and anti environmentalists , according to Edward O. Wilson s The Future of
Life, both have a hidden agenda. He claims that these hidden agendas are rooted in personal interest
and ideas which only benefit them and not the people, nor the environment. Through the use of
absurdity and irony with a sarcastic tone, Wilson satirizes these agendas that make the
environmentalists and people first critics unproductive. Absurdity is used throughout his work to
exhibit his claim. By explaining the true intentions of the environmentalists, he reveals that their
aim is to gain political power by expanding the government which is not what they should be doing.
Instead, they should be concerned with protecting the environment rather than perpetuating their
own personal and hidden [needs and] agenda . He ultimately says... Show more content on

In the first passage, he says (metaphorically) let them [property owners] be the real grass roots in
this country. Grass roots mean a movement from the people, people rising up, however, it is the
environmentalists that claim to be the grass roots to cause an uprise of change while they are
doing the total opposite. Totally ironic isn t it? On the other hand, the irony is used similarly in the
second passage in which Wilson describes the their idea of conservation is stocking trout streams
and planting trees around gold courses. (lines 51 52) This conveys the superficiality of the ideals of
the people first critics. Moreover, they have representatives to go to these national meetings to talk
about the environment but look outside the window or are rather uninterested. To further the irony
of it all, Wilson questions what exactly they are trying to conserve [...] their own selfish interests,
for sure, not the natural environment, completely capturing the essence of his claim that they are

Reflection Of The Five Psychoosexual Stages Of Personality...
Attending the psychology lecture has been an interesting experience for me, which I learn about
different psychological theories explaining how our behaviors and thoughts are changing by the
surrounding stimuli and factors. While I attain the theoretical knowledge, I also understand the
important to convert this knowledge into daily applications. Among the theories I have learnt in the
lesson, I found the psychoanalytic framework of Sigmund Freudis more appealing to me as I can
somehow relate it to myself and the psychological development of my little brother. Moreover, it
seems a more controversial theory when compare to other psychologyperspective.
As Sigmund Freud suggested, every mature individual has a personality structure with three ...

Goals Of Diversity In The Workplace
Since the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it has been illegal to discriminate in regards to hiring, firing or
promotions based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin or disability (U.S. Equal
Employment, 2016). Organizations have adhered to this federal regulation, some more than others,
by incorporating this law into their policies and procedures for personnel. Adhering to the law
through the hiring process and during orientation by informing them that these practices are
prohibited in regards to their performance and work. In all fairness, most organizations have done
a good job in adhering to this law. If not only because by not doing so would cause potential for

This can be measured through employment satisfaction surveys and analysis of human capital in
regards to gender and race. Once this analysis is conducted and completed by human resources it
will be easier to assess and implement strategies and goals to address these barriers. The second
goal should be to ensure that the current workforce is a reflection of the community in which the
organization serves. This can be measured by ensuring that the organization has a solid affirmative
action and equal employment opportunity plan in place then by assessing the data collected
through hiring to the relevant data from the surrounding demographic of the area to ensure that the
organization compares favorably. The third goal should be to attract, develop and retain a diverse
workforce in an inclusive manner that values and respects differences. This can be measure over
time by analyzing the retention rates of each demographic group in your organization. Employment
satisfaction surveys will also measure the effectiveness of this goal on employee happiness and
whether they feel that their differences are appreciated in the organization. The last goal should be
to increase the diversity of the top management team and senior level management of the
organization. The can be measured effectively by evaluating the senior positions to ensure that
there is an equal representation of women and minorities in top level positions of the organization.
This particular goal is extremely important in ensuring that the organization values and continues

Abortion, Right, Public Policy, And Constitutional Law Essay
Abortion, Right to Life Abortion raises subtle problems for private conscience, public policy, and
constitutional law. Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of
clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers
(Feinberg 1984: 1).
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first
28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many
consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is
forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed
the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.
Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the
moral law. John Calvin, a French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation, states
that :
The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a
most monstrous crime to rob it of the life, which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more
horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most
secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it
has come to light. (Calvin, 1984)
Many women resort to abortion because they think that they

This proves that in this show, most relationships are based on sexual attraction, instead of
cognitive relationships. Then he asked his roommate to break up with the woman for him, since
he had to leave. In reality, most people like to believe that sex is a sign of love and, although there
are also many exceptions to this rule, many still try and live by it. Today there are also many fears
about AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases being spread. The characters on Friends seem to be
completely immune and ignorant of sexually transmitted diseases while having sex with many
different partners. Finally, another aspect that is falsely portrayed in this show is homosexuality. It
seems that almost everywhere the main characters go there are homosexuals that are either hanging
around the main characters or are attracted to them. In reality, the homosexual population only
makes up around 10 12% of the U.S. population, so it would be unlikely that the main characters
would run into that many homosexuals in the small areas where they live.
The next show that I have researched is the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond . Even
though this show falls into the same category as Friends , the shows are very different. One
difference is that the main character in Everybody Loves Raymond is married. On Friends , all of
the main characters are single, and they have sexual relations more frequently. Everybody Loves
Raymond does not present as much sex as most sitcoms

Consequently, she acts out, and is a handful for her single mom!
The campground is small, but has a fun mini golf game, hiking trails, and has a pool, but no diving

Mary was cooperative during the interview and was very responsive to my questions. However, she

Mary repeatedly asked me how long the case would take and mentioned her large bills from

What is the layout of the pool? How deep and large is it?
Were there any signs around the pool?
Is there a lifeguard on duty?
Have there been previous incidences at this campground pool?

Effects of Illegal Insider Trading Essay
Insider trading is a term that most investors have heard and usually associate with illegal conduct.
But the term actually includes both legal and illegal conduct. The legal version is when corporate
insiders officers, directors, and employees buy and sell stock in their own companies. When
corporate insiders trade in their own securities, they must report their trades to the SEC. Illegal
insider tradingrefers generally to buying or selling a security, in breach of a fiduciaryduty or other
relationship of trust and confidence, while in possession of material, nonpublic information about
the security. Insider trading violations may also include tipping such information, securities trading
by the person tipped, and securities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, in a case like that of Enron, their stock price was enormous since it was not evident that they
were cooking their books. This would not have happened if insider trading were legal. Investors
would not have lost most of their money investing in a firm like Enron and taking the hit when
they were investigated for insider trading and fraud. The Enron insiders would have sold their
shares and the price would have corrected itself and the disaster might have been avoided.
Investors could have allocated their money towards more promising investments, which in turn
would increase market efficiency. With legalizing insider trading, stock prices would be more
efficient with the ability to acquire more information. Illegal trading is still common and some
may say it is actually growing. This puts law abiding investors at a disadvantage. Insider trading
bans allow for some comparable behavior. For example, if I were to work for a company and
hear that we were going to post a profit this quarter, I would not sell my shares. This could be
considered insider non trading and is currently legal, but can basically be considered insider
trading. There are plenty of loopholes in the current system. With increased information, we might
be able to smooth the volatility of the market. It will lessen the exposure to bad information and
will benefit the market s participants. Profits being made from the information will expedite the
flow of information. There is a gray area

Child Rearing Practices Within The Society
Humans are social beings, living off of interactions. Through these interactions, society is created.
Society defines socials norms, taboos, traditions, and so on. Humans also derive certain feelings
and beliefs like happiness, love, ethics, and culture from society. Unarguably, society is extremely
powerful around the world. It does however alter from place to place. Some societies are based on
the individual, while others value community. Not to mention, some societies are integrated and
homogeneous while others are disintegrated and heterogeneous. Anthropologist, Dorothy Lee, finds
there to be conflicts in western cultures disintegrated society, which she is looking to resolve. Lee
goes on to explore the cultures of different homogeneous societies. Primarily, she placed her focus
on child rearing practices within these different cultures. Homogeneous cultures believe that
individual integrity goes hand in hand with structure. However, unlike heterogeneous cultures, they
also signify authentic individual freedom. The key social problem addressed by Lee, is that the
negligence of personal autonomy, results from an undeveloped community, failing the necessities
of structure and freedom. She discussed the importance of respect, value of the being, and
spontaneous functioning as elements of a prosperous community. Community is the harmony felt
by a grouping of people. It is the creation of structure. Predominantly, a community consists of the

The temperature affects most reactions and increases there rates unless the reaction uses an enzyme that only is effective up to or down to a certain temperature. This change has this effect because it increases collision rate and speed so more collisions with the correct reaction energy occur so more successful collisions occur increasing the reaction rate. The pressure is an important factor in gas reactions because the gas concentration is proportional to pressure. The use of a catalyst affect reaction rate by lowering the reaction enthalpy making the proportion of successful collisions higher. Surface area of reactants is a key variable because a higher surface area provides a higher chance of 2 reactants colliding and producing a successful reaction. Activation enthalpy: I just talked a lot about activation enthalpy I will now explain what is meant by this. Activation enthalpy is the minimum amount of kinetic energy required by a pair of colliding particles for a reaction to occur. it is the amount of energy required for the particles of the reactants to break the bonds holding them ... • 3. First-Round Running Back Case Study Tier 1: Potential First Round Running Backs | Todd Gurley, David Johnson, Lamar Miller, Ezekiel Elliot, Adrian Peterson What Gurley can do for you is simple: break games open. He s the type of running back that can have six points going into the fourth quarter, until he rushes for a 60 yard touchdown and changes your fortunes in one play. You don t need to say much about him. The Rams offensive line and wide receivers aren t special, and their quarterbacks are far from even pedestrian (including No. 1 pick Jared Goff), but the Rams have Gurley. David Johnson is one of the most talented backs on a great offense that loves to feed him the ball, on the ground and through the air. Lamar Miller has been one of the most efficient backs the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has gotten his playing weight down, back to where he dominated at Alabama in college and his rookie season with the Packers. The usually prolific Green Bay offense struggled last year with Jordy Nelson out and Lacy on a drive thru diet. The Packers running back is expected to pick up where he left off in 2014 as a RB1. C.J. Anderson should get a bigger workload. We expected him to get a big workload last year; but this year, he may have finally put the threats of Ronnie Hillman and now Devontae Booker to bed. The Broncos matched Miami s offer sheet for Anderson and likely wouldn t have done that without being confident in him as their bell cow back post Peyton Manning. Mark Sanchez at quarterback, or Trevor Siemian for that matter, wont be much of a downgrade as Manning was a game manager by the end of last season. Anderson should get a ton of touches in a Gary Kubiak offense that ran Arian Foster like a thoroughbred in Houston. With Carlos Hyde, it comes down to health. San Francisco head coach Chip Kelly loves to force feed his tailbacks, and Hyde is his most talented offensive player. But to make an impact, you have to be in cleats. Hyde could be a top 5 running back with a large workload, if he can stay on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Reflection On Math Lesson What? For my second lesson, I taught a math lesson on multiplying decimals with zeros in the product. I wanted students to be able to show that they could multiply with decimals in the product and I wanted them to be able to explain how they know where to add the decimal point in the answer. This lesson was part of the unit over decimals. Students will learn to add them, subtract, multiply, divide, and then take a test for the unit. I decided to teach this lesson because this is what my teacher had planned for the day and needed me to teach to keep her on track for the test. Honestly, I was excited to teach a math lesson because it was a great refresher for me. Overall, I was very satisfied with the way the lesson went. The students were understanding the instruction I delivered and were giving the answers I had hoped for. The students were on task and engaged for the entire lesson and when they weren t engaged, I could draw or mention sticks and I would get more active participation. Before I asked students to work independently or with a partner, I modeled exactly what they should be doing and how they should do it. This made a huge difference from my first lesson because there was no confusion. When I had one students come up to the board and share their answer, everyone in the class had the same answer. While I was formatively checking their understanding, this told me that the way I was teachingwas working because they all understood the problem. I really can not think of anything that did not go as I had planned or that I was not happy with. Although, there was one point where my math was wrong because I was not thinking logically. I need to make sure I slow down while I am teaching to check my own work so I am not teaching the students incorrect information! The only change I would try and make if I taught this lesson again would be to find a way to make it more engaging and less teaching instruction out of the book. I feel that with math this is sometimes challenging, but I think it could be done. Even though I did use multiple means of representation by doing a whole class discussion, partner work, and independent work, I could have found maybe a more hands on activity for the students to ... • 8. Whitetail Deer Research Paper A young deer is walking through the woods. All of the sudden its mother is shot. Many people know the story of the fawn named Bambi. However, many don t know much about his kind, the whitetail deer. Many people only think of deer as an animal to hunt and eat its meat, but it s much more. In order to fully understand the whitetail deer, one must understand its complex anatomy, its interesting way of mating, and its simple diet. The whitetail deer, or Odocoileus virginianus, is a mammal in the cervidae family. Because of this, they are one of the few creatures with antlers. Antlers are projections from the head that are connected to, and part of, the skull. Antlers vary in size and contrary to popular belief, are based on genetics and not health. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mating rituals begins with a rut. Ruts start with males proving their dominance with a grunt snort wheeze pattern. Then the males begin to fight each other by attacking each other with their antlers. They do this to earn the right to every doe in the area. Each doe usually have one fawn in its first mating season, but will likely have twins in each of the following years. Fawns are born with white spots on their backs making them easy to see. Does are very protective of their newborn fawns, only leaving them for short intervals to graze for food. When the mother is absent, the fawn will lay motionless on the forest floor, camouflaged from predators (American Expedition 2017). After one month the fawn will start to follow the mother around. One to two months later it will lose the white spots. Fawns mature at one year be will not be mated until they are 18 months old. In the wild the deer will grow to be around six feet tall and weigh about 200 pounds. However the largest deer recorded are found in their native regions of Minnesota and Ontario. Even though whitetail deer can grow to large sizes they don t even eat meet to do it. Deer are strictly herbivores that don t even chew. A deer s stomach consists of four chambers. • 9. President Of The United States His power, his passion, is the fabric of America. And it s woven by work ethic and dreams and drive and faith in the Almighty, what a combination. (S, Palin) Donald Trump is powerful, persuasive and risky. As a candidate for President of the United States, Trump stands strong to purported morals. His campaign video depicts him as the ultimate candidate ; an individual is who has the ability to stand up for middle class American s yet be strong enough to institute change, which the Obama administration has been perceived as failing to do. However we are also able to see how Trump has used his power to shape his ideal self into something he is not. Someone who uses codes and signifiers in his favour to fabricate new ideas and conventions. Donald Trump has a strident voice, but those who stand with him appear silent in stark contrast. The reason for this being that Trump s campaign, even down to his fan base, is centred on oppression. His goal is to appeal to middle class, white citizens who feel that they have been deprived of the American Dream. That is; the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative (Oxford Dictionaries). He targets this subgroup and directs their resentment to the people who have tarnished this American Dream . For example, Trump has voiced that he wants to deport all Mexicans and build a wall between the borders demonstrating his strong motive to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Court Operations At The Plantation Key Government Center I observed court operations at the Plantation Key Government Center in Tavernier, Florida twice: on October 7th and November 4th. I observed Chief Circuit Judge Carlos Garcia in courtroom A. The courthouse is located in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida and it s a state trial court with general jurisdiction. The first visit was cut short, in part because it was a lighter criminal day than planned, but also I was flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism that was present in this courtroom. I m not sure if it s a court in Paradise problem, or something that is observed at other courtrooms, however, I m disappointed in what I saw. Lack of professionalism was evident during both visits from the actors and their actions in the courtroom. On October 7th I was present at the courthouse from 8: 45 am 10: 45 am. During that initial visit, I was very nervous; since it is a small courthouse I stood out like a sore thumb. I was over dressed in comparison to the other actors that were present, even though I was wearing slacks, an FIU Honor s Polo, and flats. The Assistant State Attorney was Demetrios Efstratiou who was at least professionally dressed. There was Public Defenders present, but I did not catch their names, nor could I locate them on the Internet. Both gentlemen were dressed professionally as well. The only actor during this visit that was dressed unprofessionally was a private defense attorney Jessica Reilly, who is a partner at one of the bigger firms in Key ... When the bus accident happened Frida Kahlo was stabbed by a steel handrail, which went all the way through her hip, which was a serious fracture and left her in the hospital for several weeks in the hospital to recover. The only good outcome out of this was that during her recovery time she used her time painting so her talent came out to the world. The Church, as some even considered very wealthy, had many sources of income and it accounted for one third of the land in England. Breaking away from this entity that dominated most of the western world and once bound everyone together for thousands of years seemed inconceivable. It controlled religion, art, music, morals and even politics. Pope Boniface VII in 14th century said, We declare, state, define and pronounce that for every human creature to be subject to the Roman pope is altogether necessary for salvation. Each of them had their different strengths and weaknesses, but all operated under the mental structure of the church and family. • 14. Causes And Treatment Of Infective Endocarditis Before discussing Infective Endocarditis, it s imperative to understand where the endocardium is along with its function because endocarditis affects this area of the heart. The Endocardium is the innermost layer of heart tissue that lines the cavities and valves of the heart and is composed of loose epithelial and connective tissue. The endocardium regulates contractions of the heart and helps regulate the composition of the bloodthat feeds the tissues of the heart (Kenney, 2015). Infective Endocarditis, IE, is an infection of the endocardium that generally occurs when bacteria or germs from another part of the body, such as the mouth, spread through the bloodstream and attach to damaged areas in the heart (Endocarditis Definition, 2015). Individuals that have an increased risk of developing Endocarditis include: Those with Pacemakers or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Individuals with existing conditions of the heart valves HIV (What Increases Your Risk of Endocarditis?, 2015). Diabetes Mellitus and long term hemodialysis (Infective endocarditis in adults, 2001). According to the American Heart Association, endocarditis affects twice as many men as women and eight times as many older men as older woman. More than a quarter of all cases occur in individuals that are older than 60 years of age (Heart Valves and Infective Endocarditis, 2014). Spielberg s Schindler s List uses a variety of macro and micro techniques that are effective in eliciting strong emotional response form the spectator. Despite not being a horror film, it is compatible to through the lack of violence in the film and the context of the Holocaust. Therefore, as a spectator, it is clear that horror in a horror movie differs greatly to horror in this particular film because of Spielberg s raw and authentic style in making the spectator feel unease as the narrative progresses. Firstly, one of the most important scenes in the film is when a Jew pretends to be an officer to fool the approaching Nazi guards. Spielberg s use of a wide shot has the spectator focus on the character rummaging through the suitcases, which essentially builds the tension in the scene, as the focus on the background of the Nazi guards approaching without the use of sound immediately triggers a response of anxiety as the spectator feels they are to witness another massacre. This response of anxiety is elevated further through the box like framing having Goeth on the left and his other henchmen on the right, trapping the Jew who is in the middle. We formed a nightly routine of reading every night before bed as soon as I started learning the basics of reading. I enjoyed every moment of this; it was my favorite part of the day. The first book I was able to read on my own was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. The feeling of success I had after this accomplishment is as clear as day and I can still see myself as a five year old beaming with joy when I could finally read a bookwithout assistance. In grade school, I was never the one who was passionate about reading. However, when it came time to write a story, I was excited and even wrote stories on my own. In third grade, my friends and I would write fictional stories during lunchtime and present them to our teacher after recess. I can still remember the sense of pride we felt when we saw the surprised and proud looks on our teacher s face. It made us want to write more and more. But years went on, and I still never formed a fondness for recreational reading. I ve been assigned more than five books a year in the past; some would catch my interest, but never enough to pull me in as much as to read in my spare time. There were rare occasions when I was really pulled into a book that was assigned to me. To this day I do not know if that was because of the mere thought that I was not willingly reading the book, or just that I did not have the patience for it. All ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. How Did Akhenaten Change Of Religion Akhenaten During the time of the new kingdom a powerful Pharaoh came into power. Akhenaten, also known as Amenophis IV believed that only one god should rule universally, and that god is known as the Aten. Akhenaten was the crucial changer of polytheism. Changing polytheism to monotheism was an enormous impact on society back then and now. But, Nicholas Reeves uses all sorts of evidence and opinions of his, to conclude that Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt. Historians have asked why Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt, and many opinions have come into contact. Reeves argues that, even though Akhenaten was the founder a new faith he desperately used the new religion for political uses. In an attempt to reassert the authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reeves interprets the changing of religion for political reasons, and it all started with Hatshepsut. Thutmose III was the sixth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and was ruling co regent with his aunt Hatshepsut. Akhenaten wanted to restore power in himself, not because he cared about his people only because he thought the gods had more power than him. To fix that problem, he wanted only one god, the Aten, to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was changing beliefs for theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. From the start of his reign, it was clear that Akhenaten was determined to change something, and was willing to share his beliefs in monotheism. Pharaoh, it is clear, was a man with a mission; of rare intelligence, recognizably well tutored in the theological minutiae...despite his age, he was certain in his beliefs and determined to share them (91). There was a text discovered called the Great Hym of Aten and it is a hieroglyphic text discovered in el Amrna in the tomb of Ay. It was believed to have been written by Akhenaten himself translated by W.J. Murnane. Reeves points out that the hym was rather a strong emphasis on how one should portray the nature of reality, and rather weak connection between Aten and the kingdom. He also notes that the hym as well as many other texts, never emphasize sympathy or kindness to the Egyptian people, and it only praises Aten and the relationship with Akhenaten. Of course, Callum could have bought his way out of the draft, if it were not for his rat bastard of a father. Said war would put some hair on his chest that it would be good for him and then refused to cover the draft fees. So here Callum was, trudging alongside several thousand men under General Lee s command. The Union has been trying to gain control of Virginia since the very inception of the war. After Virginia joined the Confederacy, it was rewarded with the Confederate capitol in Richmond due to its industry and factories. His hometown was the only large scale industrial city in the Confederacy. Having the capitol and the bulk of the army here allowed for easy restocking of supplies. It was a logistically sound move, but also a dangerous one. Virginia lies at the border of the Confederacy and the Union, not even a hundred miles south of the Union s capital in Washington. Although changes can be seen in the roles of every family member, it can be argued that the role of women in the family, especially that of mothers, changed the most. Between the sixteenth century and the twentieth century, the role that mothers played in the family and in society changed greatly. One common way in which the number of births was limited was by marrying late. Although this provided some reduction in the number of children a woman had, once she was married she would begin to have children at regular intervals. While in general women during this time period gave birth to many children, social class had an impact on just how many children a mother had. Prior to the nineteenth century, poor women had fewer children than wealthy women even though at the time their role was the same; to procreate. Some reasons as to why wealthy women had more children than poor women include health, loss of husbands, and breast feeding. Poorer women were less likely than wealthy women to have enough to eat. A lack of nutrients could result in amenorrhea and miscarriages as well as other reproductive problems. Also, with the staggering death rates, women were likely to lose their husbands before they reached menopause. While wealthy women would sometimes remarry for economic or social reasons, poor women would commonly remain widows. Finally, wealthy women were likely to put their babies out to wet nurses while poor women would usually nurse their own children. Breast feeding actually reduces fertility after child birth leading to longer intervals between pregnancies for poor women. By the nineteenth century, the role of mothers had not changed in regard to the responsibility of bearing children. However, what did change was their role in deciding ... Through the use of economic concepts and the book Cocktail Party Economics, the change in prices can be explained further in depth. While any Blue Jays enthusiast could tell that the price boost is due to the increase in the team s popularity, one with a working knowledge of economics could explain that the price increase is a factor of scarcity, demand equilibrium. However, we must turn to economics to explain why demand has increased. Demand refers to how much of a good the market will buy at any given price. For this reason, it is important to understand that price changes, whether they be increasing or decreasing, do not change demand В they change the quantity demanded. During the first half of the baseball season, the Blue Jays had a worse record and were not expected to be in the playoff team for that simple reason that they rarely sold out their games, despite the tickets being at a lower price point than present. Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers (Feinberg 1984: 1). Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light.
