Irving, Poe, and Hawthorne were arguably some of the most popular writers of the 19th century
(Dincer 223; Lauter 2505). All three of them are known for their short essays and their advocacy to
make writing a full fledged and legitimate profession. Their writings show that they were hugely
influenced by the Romantic Movement (romanticism); a movement in art, literature, music,
philosophy, politics and culture towards focusing on the individual, the subjective, and the
spontaneous (Dincer 218). Romanticist writing encouraged contemplation and self awareness, direct
contact with nature, and a focus on and an exploration of inner feelings (Dincer 223). Yet, they had
distinct writing style, focus, and theme. While Irving was more of a light romantic writer, a writing
style characterized by optimism, Poe and Hawthorne are widely considered dark romantic Authors

many stories told by different characters on the road to Canterbury. On their pilgrimage, each of the
characters tells a different story in a contest to win a free dinner when they get to Canterbury. Many of
the tales have similar morals, but the tellers are very different, such as the tales of the Friar and the
Pardoner. Though both of these tales have a similar plot and can be interpreted in a similar way, their
tellers are significantly different. Although the Friar and the Pardoner are very different people, they
both have a similarly structured story, using a symbolic demons as the antagonist, and with very

War II in 1940 alongside the Axis which included Germany and Italy. Hideki Tojo then came to power
a year later. The Government saw the Dutch East Indies rich in oil as well as other Asian territories.
However the only threat to stopping the Japanese from conquering them was the U.S. Navy. In order
for this to happen Japan bombed the Huge Naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.The surprise attack
killed 2,400 Americans and damaged warships and planes. Congress quickly took action and declared
war on Japan. On December 11 Japan s allies declared war on the United States. Roosevelt signed
Executive order 9066 on February 19, 1942. Executive order 9066 forced all the Japanese on the West

In The Choice, the objective point of view is being used when Travis takes Gabby and his other four
friends on a boat ride to the middle of the lake. The camera is being placed alongside the boat so the
viewers can watch what the friends are undertaking. In some of the scene, we can see the whole boat

the competence of the counselor. As I read I came to the conclusion intentional self disclosure is an art
that must be mastered. The well being of the client is the primary consideration, however, there are
also considerations of timing, the developmental need of the client, and the counselor s ability to craft
a disclosure that leaves no room to open additional doors. Although it may be counterintuitive
disclosing one s orientation to someone who feels alone in their sexuality does have possible negative
consequences. An emotionally vulnerable client who is struggling with being gay may develop an
attraction to a therapist who shares their orientation and is the same sex. If the counselor is not attuned
to this development the client could confuse the counselor s disclosure with their availability or
receptiveness to the attraction. A therapist who discloses but is not aware of an attraction that is
developing, meaning it goes unprocessed, has tremendous potential to do damage in the context of

Psychedelic. Psychedelic music was influenced by the 1960s psychedelic culture, a subculture of
