Luther was adamant that the church must begin and end with the Word of God and that Jesus was
the Word made flesh.2 Luther believed that Jesus Christ created the Bible and the church and
therefore it was impossible for the church to create the Bible because it was the inspired Word of

process. Throughout this story the use of symbols were greatly used as a representation of a
civilization journey. The process was made up of 3 important symbols in the novel to which
helped the boys find an escape from the island. The boys found an escape route even if the
symbols were made as a negative impact on how they lived or as a positive impact. The novel, The
Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding utilizes the symbols of: the conch as an illustration
of leadership, the signal fire which illustrates a man s struggle for survival, and the beast is a

The conch is used as a symbol in the story as order to act as leader while holding the conch. As the
boys held the conch to speak they were given the chance to let out what they have to say without

The language of Jessie Pope is very informal as it is directed to young men, who in the era of

is nothing that can stop the man from dying, a small glimmer of hope but other than that it seems

an ever changing culture and a strong force against certain changes, certain ethnic and social
groups appear to be neglected by the lawmakers of America. One of the more recent occurrences
of this has been the LBGT community. Up until 2014, marriage was not even legal between a
same sex couple. After gay marriage was ruled legal, a landslide of other reforms were brought to
attention. One of the more controversial topics being discussed today is the rights of the LBGT
community in accordance to public bathrooms. They argue that anyone should be able to use
whichever bathroom that matches with their identified gender. The definition of gender and the
rights that accompany them is constantly being updated and adjusted. Because of this sudden
movement, social issues are sparking outrage and debate on whether this argument should be
implemented into society. This issue has dominated the media and has caused chaos on both sides
of the spectrum. Members of the LBGT community should not be able to use whatever bathroom
