Supervisor Monologue
I don t know what to do anymore, I say as I run the blade down the road on my wrist. I cried softly,
hoping no one can hear me. I don t want to be in this world anymore. How can I live in the world
when everyone hates me? My parents abused me all the time before they died. I guess it s now taking
an effect on me. My friends all stabbed my back a thousand times. I Wish I didn t tell them my secrets.
They just went and told everyone else and now I m known as the town slut. Even my boyfriend hates
me. Or should I say ex boyfriend. He proved it today. (Flashback) I was walking to class. I saw two
people kissing next to the lockers and thought I wish my boyfriend and I were like that. As I got
closer, it was my boyfriend with another girl. How could he? He said he loved me. We all lie at one
point in our lives. Am I right? He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don t mess up so you lose him. He s also the cutest supervisor. His name is Lucas. I guess it will be
fine here.
March 4th, 2015 4:56 am
I woke up to Georgia screaming. I wish I could comfort her. I know what it s like to scream from a
nightmare. Lucas comes in. He looks at me, then goes and holds Georgia.
:Don t tell the others, he whispers to me. I nodded. I slowly fade back to sleep. I dream, but more like
a nightmare. (Nightmare) Alex was packing. My parents were hugging him, begging him not to leave.
Alex puts his stuff in his car. He walks to mom and dad, he hugs them, walks to his car and leaves.
Dad walks inside the house and slaps me. He screams at me, blaming me for Alex leaving when Alex
promised he would stay until they died. Mom walks in, calls me stupid and tells me to go my room,
and only leave if I need to go to school (Nightmare over).
Lucas comes into the room.
Time to get up, he says. I sit up on the bed. I look around the room. Lucas looks at Georgia sleeping.
He wants to let her sleep, but he has to wake her.
Let me sleep more, Georgia

Computers And The Single Computer Platform
Whenever people play on their phones, work on their computers, or are just chilling out and playing
games on the gaming consoles they own they don t ever really think about what s behind the program,
app, or game they are playing. The thought of what makes them up is never really a big deal and the
thought of how much work went into all those tiny details never crosses their minds. It all just comes
together in this one big program that nobody really gives a second thought about. Whenever I say that
word, programming, someone may think just simply building websites or even making computer
games, while these are correct, there is a completely different side to it that isn t really as fun. This
different side includes learning different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

languages that can be changed into binary code, what you want it to do. These languages range from
high level and obscure to low level and popular ( Defining High, Mid, and Low Level Languages ).
Number wise there are very many, if you are just counting main languages there are at a minimum
hundreds and if counting all of them including the obscure languages then over a thousand. Some of
the more common ones some of you might have heard of them, mentioned previously Java which
most every internet user has heard. Then there is C which Programming in C is efficient and gives the
programmer a great deal of control ( How C Programming Works ). Java is actually built off of the
language C. This language isn t used very often but it has very many plus sides of learning it, this
language can be used on different platforms; laptops, desktops, and smart phone. This language will
also help with the understanding with many higher level languages. The last of the more common ones
I am going to list is C++, which sounds an awful like C but it has a lot of improvements that C doesn t
necessarily have. It maintains the same simplicity as C but it also has features that make it easier to
write for higher leveled programs. It can also make small

Isaac Luria Research Paper
Religions have historically incorporated elements of mysticism into their broader teachings in order to
help explain the inexplicable or to provide alternate routes to the Divine for their followers. While
more the conservative sects of a religion typically look down upon mystical schools of thought for
straying too far away from what is written in their sacred texts, most will simply accept them as
another group of lost souls looking for answers to the universe s deepest questions. In Judaism,
mystical tradition is referred to as Kabbalah and, unlike most other mystical schools of thought, it
stays true to the smallest details of Jewish Law. This close attention to remaining consistent with
greater Jewish tradition has made Kabbalah more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ibn Zimra was a master of rabbinic law, authoring over 2,500 rabbinic legal opinions and other
Kabbalistic works. One of his Kabbalistic writings delves into the mystical explanation for the letters
of the Hebrew alphabet, even exploring the significance of their individual shapes (Fine 35).
Furthermore, historical documents from this period suggest that Luria was one of ibn Zimra s top
students by the age of 23. This reveals how Luria s knowledge and understanding of halakhic and
rabbinic writings were well beyond his years; his studies under ibn Zimra made him into an
outstanding, highly skilled legal scholar in a fairly short amount of time. Because of this, Luria
transitioned from being a mere student to entering the most important rabbinic circle of Egypt,
continuing his halakhic work with ibn Zimra s successor, Bezalel Ashkenazi. In addition to building
up his Jewish education while living in Egypt, Luria worked as a commercial trader in the 1550s,
facilitating the exchange of goods between Egypt, Turkey and Italy (Fine 29 33). This smaller aspect
of Luria s life in Egypt may have contributed to his development by bringing him into to contact with
different cultures, religions, and

Rhythm is best described as the musical organization of sounds. The beat, meter and tempo help when
describing rhythm.
Beat: piano emphasizes on one and the and of two throughout the song.
Meter: 4/4 (quadruple meter)

The tempo is consistently fairly slow throughout Hello by Adele and it is in a quadruple meter. The
piano emphasized the downbeat of each measure and the and of two. The rhythm of the song helps

Homophonic o Adele lead singer o Piano, drum set, background singers, strings, guitar, bass guitar,

The homophonic texture is what most popular music today is described as. There is a prominent
person, maybe a lead singer, and a background. Even without the background, there may still be a
song. The piano, drum set, background singers, string instruments, guitar, bass guitar and the toms add
to the song because they add their own dynamic to it. They all play a crucial and different role in the
song as well.
The overall effect of the song, Hello, by Adele is effective in communicating the message of the song.
Each section that I talked about above gives unique qualities to the song that make people interested
and like the song. I like how throughout the song, it builds more and more slowly by adding
instruments or even just instruments playing louder dynamics as the song builds. I also like how the
song is not overly complicated and there is not too much going on instrumental

Animal Welfare Research
Animal welfare has been a very controversial issue within our society, whether it would the habitat
destruction of California gnatcatchers in southern California to the elephants of sub Saharan Africa
being hunted for their tusks. Moreover, there has been one topic that has been discussed and hotly
debated, which is the animal welfare within farms and the conditions that they live in, specifically
pigs, calves, and pigs. Environmental ethics is a discipline within philosophy that studies the moral
relationship of human beings and also the value and moral standing of the environment and its non
human factors. Furthermore, it takes a biocentric approach because it takes into consideration the fact

utilitarian approach that the greatest amount of good can only be measured by the good or ethical
actions. Furthermore, he explains that there is no reason not to apply this ideology to other

Williams Hero Model
Williams fits into the Aristotelian tragic hero model because he was born slightly elevated status in the
1950 s Chicago society. Williams came from a pretty well known family; his mother being former
model Laurie McLaurin, and his father, Robert Fitzgerald Williams, a Ford Motor Company
executive. His great great grandfather was Mississippi Governor and Senator Anselm J. McLaurin.
Growing up in Chicago, Williams was lonesome and was often found playing with toys by himself in
his family s suburban mansion and not with any of the other kids his age. No one had thought that
Williams would become the brilliant comedian and actor that he became. Starting his career
performing at nightclubs in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Williams got his big break in 1978 when
he made a guest appearance on the tv show Happy Days as an alien named Mork. ... Show more

Essay On How Did Andrew Jackson Act Like A King
It is clear from the documents that Andrew Jackson acted like a king. One reason that Andrew Jackson
acted like a king was because he owned slaves throughout his lifetime. Document 7 states that he
owned the most slaves when he was president. He acted like a king because you can not own the
common man if you are the common man. This means that if Andrew Jackson was the hero of the
common man, he would not be able to own slaves. The slaves WERE the common men. If Andrew
Jackson was one of them he would ve been working for someone, but instead he acted like a king
because he was the one having common men work for him. In class we learned that during Jackson s
lifetime, he owned 300 slaves! That is a lot to people to own and have work

Personal Narrative Of My Life
Personal Narrative One day in mid November, I thought that one of the worst days in my life had
come. I walked into my parent s room, and I found my mother rushing to gather things to go
somewhere. Curiously, I asked my mom where she was going, and why she was in such a rush. My
mom said, Julia was in a bad car accident on the way home from school and is headed to the hospital.
I m going up there to see if there is anything I can do to help. Immediately many questions came to
my mind, but I knew that it would be best to not ask until she was sure of the answers and had more
information. Julia was family to me, but not my blood. I have known her since I was born, and she has
always been around since. Her Aunt is my mother s best friend as well as my Godmother. She has
known Julia s family for over 30 years. I wasn t as close to Julia as I would ve liked to be, but I still
knew her very well. She was only 17 years old and it was her Senior year in high school. Since my
mom is a Pediatric nurse at Baptist, it was no surprise to me that my mom was going there to help. I
told her to update me as soon as she found out anything. After my mom left to go to the hospital, I sat
on the couch anxiously waiting for any information from her. Eventually my mom texted me saying
that she was in critical condition and in a coma. She also said that she had to be on a ventilator and
wasn t responding to anything. With that information, I knew that this was something very serious and

Morality And Ethical Behaviour Within The Human Population
Morality and ethical behaviour within the human population is vital in order to conceive a healthy
society. Although throughout history, morals and ethics have been used interchangeably, they are in
fact not one in the same. Morality is within oneself and develops over a period of time as a result of
meeting and resolving moral issues as they come forth, whereas ethics is essentially a moral compass,
or a set of rules one follows throughout the course of their life (Crebert, Patrick, Cragnolini, 2004).
From a personal perspective, I believe each individual has several distinguishing moral codes they live
by, even if they may not distinctly know it. I personally have several moral foundations that I live by,
including transparency, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reasons for doing so was to limit the trade off between the emissions produced and performance
of the vehicle (Davenport, Ewing, 2015). The implications of this in the real world is vast, affecting
various interested parties around the world. Not only do employees, consumers and shareholders feel
misguided and lied to, but also society as a whole. Truthfulness and transparency are fundamental
concepts of morality that I use to define my life, and should have been executed in the case of
Volkswagen. If they were transparent with their fundamental operations from the beginning, these
corporate lies would never have occurred.
The Volkswagen scandal has caused, and will further cause, many consequences affecting major
associated parties. Consequences of this scandal extenuate to the individual, organisational and social
components of society. The individual consequences caused are mainly comprised of consumers and
how they have been affected. Consumers, overall, have felt that they have been blatantly lied to and
misguided by Volkswagen (Northern Daily Leader, 2015). This demonstrates that Volkswagen
seemingly do not possess the moral trait of transparency amongst its operations with various
stakeholders. Another aspect of society that has been adversely affected by this scandal is the
organisational component. Volkswagen has had harsh financial repercussions, posting its first

Epidemiology Research Papers
Epidemiology is the study of diseases and informs the public about the health epidemics and new
standards put in place. They usually work in laboratories, businesses, and offices where they work on
discovering many diseases and conducting research while also finding cures to new diseases. In order
to become an epidemiologist, I will have undergo through 4 year as an undergraduate and obtain a

a strong foundation and having that warning system in place. According to him maybe they can save

West Nile, and HIV viruses outbreak. In order to do this he has conducted research and surveys which
have conducted them to have a map of hotspots which is where people are highly exposed to human to
animal contact which where some viruses emerge from. As an epidemiology they mostly focus on
retroviruses which as viruses that can cause huge worldwide epidemics like HIV. They mostly focus to
spot viruses as soon as they commence and collect blood samples, survey wild animals to later come
down with new evidence of the retroviruses. He ends his article by stating that he would like to see an

Selfless Love In The Film Harold And Maude
Selfless Harold and Maude depict selfless love; that is, not trying to mold the other, but a love that
realizes the beauty of life through the other. Harold is a 19 year old kid obsessed with death. He passes
his time with his obsession since his mother couldn t figure out his needs. He fakes his death to get his
mother s attention but to no avail. He got himself a hearse from a junkyard to his mother s disgust, so
she replaces it with a Jaguar which he turns into a mini hearse. Maude is a 79 year old woman who
loves life but shares Harold s hobby of attending funerals. She s a carefree and free spirited individual
who has a passion for life. His obsession with death and her passion for life draw them together at
funeral parties. They become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The soundtracks fit the scenes perfectly. Although it s a dark comedy film, we realize a few life
lessons we could apply to ourselves. The movie stresses out significant advice on every relationships
intimate, family, nature, and toward other people. The characters frequently react gently or like
credible human beings to the script s impossible notions (Ortega). Maude unintentionally falls in love
with Harold though she was four times his age. Love knows no barriers. Love recognizes no
boundaries. She is a human being capable of love and loving. Her age gave her wisdom through her
experiences in her younger years. Her kind of love doesn t ask anything in return. Love is a wonderful
thing; it is selfless. And Harold was the recipient of her love. Her lively and positive outlook in life is
the outcome of the rough times she had in the past. And she is thankful she s able to watch the sunset
and glorious birds with a Harold. Philippians 2: 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests

She taught him everything she knew so he can lead a happy life. She took Harold out of his life in a

for Maude. He drives his hearse over the cliff ending his obsession for death. His life is forever
changed because of the love that he found in Maude. As Bruce Feiler mention on one of his

Chilean Wine

DAVID ARNOLD HOWARD STEVENSON ALEXANDRA DE ROYERE

Export Strategy for a Chilean Winery
In November 2001, Patricio Middleton, CEO of Viña MontGras, a $7 million Chilean winery, was
driving through the Colchagua Valley to meet American journalists from Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Looking at the endless vines that surrounded him, he wondered how those newly planted grapes
would find a market. Chile, the world s 10th largest wine producer, had enjoyed an export boom in the
1990s and had grown to become the fourth largest wine exporter, its wines positioned mainly in the
lower end of the fine wines price range. (See Exhibit 1 for world wine production and exports, and
Exhibit 2 for price ranges.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the industry remained fragmented, with the largest player, Californian E J Gallo,
accounting for 1.5% worldwide market share.1 The industry was also in transition at the consumer and
distribution levels.
Old World versus New World
The Old World wine industry, centered on France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany, was
characterized by long standing traditions of wine production, industry fragmentation, high levels of
regulation from production to labeling and marketing, and strong domestic markets. Most Old World
wines were made from a blend of different grapes and were named after the growing regions
themselves, such as Bordeaux, Chianti, or Rioja, which resulted in considerable complexity of
designation for example, the French regulatory system included 450 different apellations d origine
controlées (AOCs, or registered origin names). The Old World philosophy of wine production was
based on the importance of terroir (terrain), which assumed that every vineyard was unique because of
differences including soil, microclimate, topography, and the skill and practices of the winemaker. The
New World wine industry, dominated by Australia, the United States, South Africa, Chile, and
Argentina, was more concentrated and more focused on exports. In addition, the lack of stringent
regulation in the New World had spurred innovation in production processes and a more scientific

The Patient Versus The Physician
The Patient Versus the Physician
In William Carlos William s short story, The Use of Force , the plot is unassuming. A physician is
telling the story about his efforts to save a child, named Mathilda, from herself in addition to his
efforts to protect an entire community from the tragic and fatal effects of diphtheria. In the story,
Mathilda seeks to avoid seeing a physician or risking any type of exam or diagnosis. Upon deeper
examination, the story is much more multifaceted than a simple appraisal of two characters
motivations. The Use of Force portrays a character contest between a stubborn child, Mathilda, and
the devoted physician who is narrating the story; the prize, won by the physician, is control, health,
and perhaps even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is determined to win this contest. She does not, however, and the physician gets the upper hand.
As soon as the physician arrives, he notices the child s penetrating stare, which seems to be filled with
fire, indicating that this task will not be easy nor will it be over quickly. He can instantly feel her
distrust of him, despite there being no expression on her young face. Initially the physician believes
that he can easily win her over and gain triumph in his pursuit to diagnose her and cure her, and
possibly safeguard the public from the spread of diphtheria. He tries to approach her in a welcoming
and peaceful manner in order to gain her trust. He tries to reassure the young Mathilda that he will not
hurt her and that he has her best interests at heart. However, the girl remains persistent. Even though
he is trying to utilize his typical professional behaviors and methods to regulate if Mathilda has a sore

Gut Microbiota
Species composition of bacteria in the gut is highly personalised and mostly determined by
environment and diet. The proportion of each species changes throughout life and the elderly have a
significantly different microbiome. The introduction of antibiotics through the course of life alters the
variation and presence of bacteria via elimination, altering the species richness and evenness of the
microbiome.
Studies have identified different genera of bacteria which are present in the microbiome and their role
in nutrient intake. Gut microbiota has 3 main enterotypes Prevotella, Bacteroides and Ruminococcus,
there is a strong correlation between the concentration of each bacterial community and the dietary
constituents. A diet high in carbohydrates and simple sugars would also indicate and reveal a greater
concentration of Prevotella whereas a diet high in protein and animal fats would present a higher
concentration of Bacteroides in the gut. A long term change in the diet would permanently shift the
concentration of bacteria in the gut to accommodate the new nutrient uptake. This would then change
the bacterial barrier in the intestine which could make it more vulnerable due to reduced species
richness.
A radical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However throughout the months via contact from relatives and outings the microbiome diversifies and
there is competition for space. The bacteria begin to specialize and differentiate to become more
adapted to their environment; the bacteria present on skin would be more suited to dry conditions than
the gut which is wet and moist. The gut microbiome would also be more specialized in absorbing
nutrients. As babies drink breast milk they would obtain bacteria from their mother and thus they
would have a different gut biome to a baby who was fed formula milk as well as the introduction of
solid foods would cause the microbiome to

Anabolic Steroids In Sports
In society today, winning is considered everything. Man is always trying to beat their opponent no
matter what it takes. Some athletes are willing to do anything that could potentially be life threatening
in order to get their 15 seconds of fame. This something is known as anabolic steroids. Anabolic
steroids have come to improve many athletes physical activity, but also ruin an immense amount of
lives forever. Although it may give someone the power to feel good, be stronger, and build up more
muscle, the negative effects strongly outweigh the positives. All athletes dream big. They have the
desire to stand on the podium with a gold metal, receive an athletic award, or win the world
championships. Sometimes the desire to achieve gets so high ... Show more content on

Unfortunately, it is not completely uncommon for athletes to test positive for steroids. Amazing,
talented competitors like Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, and Lance Armstrong were all illegal users of
steroids. They did as many things as they could to not get caught, but eventually they did. Imagine all
of the die hard fans that found out that their favorite athlete cheated through sports. Kids look up to
athletes as role models and aspire to be like them one day, but the let down of discovering that an
athlete wasn t competing the way its body naturally could is devastating. Seeing all this success
through the use of steroids could actually promote people to use it. This is an extremely bad idea
because anabolic steroids ultimately lead to a path of physical and mental hopelessness. Anabolic
steroids can be extremely harmful. If the body is already producing a proper amount of testosterone,
there is no reason to be adding more. It is unhealthy for the body and results in abnormal effects.
Acne, liver disorders, blood pressure increase, possible HIV, sexual diseases, atrophy, infertility,
prostate enlargement, lower speaking voice, thinner hair, aggressive behavior, depression, and lower
hormonal levels are just a few of the side effects as a result of taking steroids. None of these are
positive, so why should athletes be using them if they have

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) was passed in July 1935 to govern the labor management
relations of business firms engaged in interstate commerce. Examples of violating the NLRA are
unfair labor practices. All health care establishments are prohibited from engaging in any events or
matters that the NLRA considers to be associated with employer unfair labor practices (Pozgar, p

The Importance Of Crop Biodiversity
Crop Biodiversity is a very important to the world we know. As populations grow around the world
people are going to consume more food. This can cause a problem without crop biodiversity. Crop
biodiversity is the outcome of the interactions among genetic resources, the environment and the
management systems and practices used by farmers. This is the result of both natural selection and
human interventions and human inventive developed over millennia. Crop diversity helps when trying
feeding growing populations with smaller amount of cropland. Crop biodiversity is used in several
different ways like pest control, pollination, pollution and sediment regulation, maintenance of the
hydrological cycle, erosion control, and climate regulation and carbon sequestration.
Crop diversity in pest control has made a big impact on growing crops in areas that are dominated by
pests that would eat up a crop as soon as it flowers. Crop biodiversity has made crops able to
withstand roundup and different types of pesticides, which keep pests off the crops while they are
growing. Thus letting crops grow to their full potential in area of the country that before crop diversity
wouldn t have been able to happen. This helps in utilizing land for growing crops to feed growing
populations when good land is being utilized for building structures.
Crop biodiversity is also used to keep food safety obtainable in the growing world of food safety
programs like the FDA. The FDA ensures every crop being

My Mistakes In My Life
My mistakes and life have been just growing with me as I move further into my life. I have had so
much mistakes ever since I was a baby. I am really clumsy which makes it easy for me to make tons of
mistakes. I thought this would be an interesting topic because you learn from failure and just got to
accept that fact.
The Mistakes I Made as a Baby/Toddler:
The only way I knew of all these mistakes I made as a baby was because my parents recorded
everything when I was a baby. I was an angry baby my parents said because whenever they took a
picture of me I would be making my angry baby face .
My family and baby me went to a park and, of course, my parents were recording me. I was a mad as
usual for no reason. I ran away with my chubby little baby legs. My parents were freaking out because
they couldn t spot where I was until... THUMP!
I bumped into a hotdog stand and fell on the ground. I started crying like the huge baby I was. My
parents to this day don t trust what I am doing when I start to wander off.
Another mistake I have made in my baby life is, I was at a funeral, my parents were being respectful
so they didn t record me. I was around 3, my parents say, I wanted for them to carry me but, my
parents didn t want to. Baby me was, of course, angry because my parents didn t want to carry me.
And I started crawling in the aisle so no one can see me. It was super easy to see me, and my parents
started having a panic attack because they had no clue where I was heading to. My parents were
surrounded by people so they couldn t run over to me and grab me, quickly. Also, my parents were
going crazy and when that happens you don t think of the simplest ideas. My brother, though, could
get around the crowd and most likely reach me before I did anything dumb.
My brother starts crawling through all the people trying to reach me. Just imagine this, you see a 3
year old crawling towards the altar and then you see a 8 year old about 5 feet behind that baby. My
baby eyes saw that my brother was behind me and as the smart baby I was I start going in different
directions. My brother finally stands up and sees what I am doing. He starts lunging towards me so he
can reach me faster. If he was just one foot closer he

Hey Big Spender By Elena Passarello Summary
A monster is someone or something who invokes fear or causes change. Imagine someone
permanently changing a young man s life to the point his whole body and life is changed in one fell
swoop. Anyone who commits an act like this is a monster. In Hey Big Spender by Elena Passarello, a
boy named Farinelli is castrated before the young age of ten years old. Farinelli was not castrated for
using his private parts in an improper manner. Farinelli was castrated so he could sing a note. Farinelli
did not ask for this process to be done, neither was he asked if he wanted it done to him, this decision
was made by his music teachers. That decision is unreasonable to make for a ten year old boy, just so
he can fulfill the wishes of his teachers (of hitting one note!). Farinelli s body was impacted by this in

The behavior of the elders in this situation was only allowed because they were powerful. This is a
reflection of how people with power change other people s lives to fit their own agenda. While many
of the changes for Farinelli were positive, the fact of the matter is, the church elders, like powerful
people everywhere, are monsters for taking advantage of a powerless human being.
Farinelli was born in Italy back in 1705. He was a member of a church sponsored music school from
when he was young. The leaders of this school were having trouble with the progression of music. The
choirboys just couldn t hit the higher notes, as Passarello states, Mastering these complex new lines
required years of training and a thoracic power that exceeded even the strongest and most gifted of
choirboys. By the time they learned the proper technique for possessing the ecstatic

Trail Of Tears Dbq Documents
The Trail of Tears was a controversial yet pivotal event in American history. The 116 day forced
march that removed Indians from Georgia caused 1 in 4 Cherokee Indians to die of cold or disease.
There were many arguments made about the Trail of Tears, showing the benefits and detriments of the
march. The political and military arguments for the removal of Cherokee Indians from Georgia were
that it would prevent attacks on the U.S., and that it was required by the Treaty of New Echota.
Andrew Jackson stated in a message to congress, It will incalculably strengthen the southwestern
frontier enough to prevent future invasions (Document C). Jackson wanted there to be a solid border
in this southern territory of America. This would allow the U.S. to be prepared against attacks. If
Indians still occupied the area, they or other armies could approach undetected. Another political

High School Football Benefits
Participating in high school football has had a beneficial impact on myself as a person. Football has
prepared me for situations and scenarios I will face during adulthood. Football workouts and activities
occupied almost every day from the beginning of July to the end of October. This experience is similar
to a person going to work almost every single day. If an individual on our team was ever tardy for a
football function, the player was punished. The game of football also taught me to face adversity; in
the game of football not everything can go your team s way, but it is the way the team meets the
challenge that shows who they really are. This applies in the business world.
I contributed four seasons to our football program and succeeded

The Lost Colony Of The Roanoke Colony
Roanoke, one of the first couple of colonies built in the New World is famous today even in American
history due to the fact that it had completely disappeared. Though there are many reasons as to why
the colony may have disappeared no historian can place a finger on the direct cause of the colonies
disappearance. The colony of Roanoke was built due to how close that it was to Great Britain and
After the exploration of Roanoke, It was compared the island to the garden of Eden and how bountiful
it was, supposedly deer, conies, hares and fowls had great numbers. ( Martha, Barlowe 2) this of
course was perfect for a new colony, due to the fact that it could grow in strength and economy.
Though there were many upsides to the colony there were many downsides to it as well, mainly the
Native American territory that surrounded the colony, this led to many fights and disagreements
between colonists and Native Americans and led many Historians to believe that Native Americans
attacked the Roanoke Colony. Though nobody knows what had happened to the lost colony of
Roanoke, It can be believed that they might have moved as fear of the Native Americans attacking
loomed over them.
The colony of Roanoke was built on the coast of North Carolina, it was the first English settlement in
North American, a man by the name of Walter Raleigh founded the colony with his cousin in 1585.
(American History 1.) before the colony was built, three voyages to the island of Roanoke, was

Wilhelm II Research Paper
Wilhelm II was born into royalty on the 27th of January 1859, at the Crown Prince s Palace in Berlin
to Prince Frederick William of Prussia who would later become the future Frederick III and his wife
Victoria, who is the oldest daughter of Britain s Queen Victoria. at the moment he was born, his great
uncle Frederick William IV was the king of Prussia. He was the first grandchild of Queen Victoria and
Prince Albert of England, and is also the first son of the Crown Prince of Prussia, Wilhelm was from
186, second in the line of succession to Prussia, and, after 1871, to the new German Empire, which
then according to the constitution of the German Empire, was ruled by the King of Prussia.
A birth defect left him with a withered left arm due to the disease Erb s palsy, which he then tried with
some success to conceal. Photos show him with a pair of white gloves in his left hand to make the
withered arm seem longer. In others, he holds his left hand with his right or has his withered arm on
the bottom of a sword. In others, he is seen holding a cane to give the image of a useful limb posed at
a dignified angle. His left arm was about 6 inches shorter than his right arm. Historians have
mentioned that the disability affected his emotional development. ... Show more content on

L. M. Rosenblatt
Summary and analysis of theory and research Over the last eight years, I have been a reading/literature
teacher in a middle school composed of 6th through 8th grade. I find that my teaching style has
evolved since finishing my undergraduate work due in part to the following theorists. A theoretical
model by definition is an abstraction, or a generalized pattern devised in order to think about a subject
(Rosenblatt, 1938). This was L. M. Rosenblatt s premise on literacy models, and one which I feel
reflects my thought and feelings while writing this paper. Pioneers The theorist listed in this category
could also be listed under the contemporaries. While she began her work many years ago, her work
has continued to the present. She had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader may decide on an efferent attention, which has the reader learning from the text. This is
common core classes such as science and history. The second stance is aesthetic and that has the
reader living or feeling the story. Reading a novel for pleasure would fall under this stance. In her
model, writing takes the same stance. If a student reads a poem, they may write another poem
aesthetic or they may write an analysis to describe their meaning of the piece. Rosenblatt contends that
we are always in a state of transaction. We are always changing and growing. Our socioculture
changes to fit the needs of the school environment as needed. We also bring our community and
family culture into the classroom to add to the already growing and changing atmosphere. This can
affect the entire class dynamics relating to the text. Contemporaries James Paul Gee believes that a
piece of language is to be treated as a representation of some information. Clearly state, language is
not some abstract notion that represents a verbal language, but people s experience they encounter in
their lives. Gee has a description similar to schema theory but never uses the terminology. He feels
that we videotape an experience, re edit as new experiences are learned, and then pull from the library
of tapes as needed to help us understand given

Mystic River Criminal Behavior
Social Process and Learning Theories of Crime Mystic River Andrea Vermilyea University of
Northern Colorado Is criminal behavior a learned behavior? Is it simply dependent upon ones
environment or is it much more complex? Many theorists have examined criminal behavior, such as
Edwin Sutherland, Pavlov along with Hirschi. Sutherland, who devised the differential association
theory, according this theory he stated that criminality is learned from those who are close to us, or
whom we have a close association with. An individual s behavior may be deviant if those whom they
are associated with are also involved in aberrant behavior. Sutherland s theory that criminal behavior
is learned then eliminates psychological and biological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The behaviors of individuals in this community could be viewed as cyclical, as many of these
behaviors have been passed down from generation to generation. This idealism can be directly related
to the theorists in the Chicago School, in that people can absorb deviant norms from the environments
to which they are reared. I feel that the learning theories observed in this film are the differential
association theory, as the characters show criminal behavior being emphasized with peers and how
they learn to handle their strives, such as Jimmy killing Ray, Ray s son killing Jimmy s daughter. I
also feel as though Pavlov s classical conditioning theory was observed as people learn through
associations between stimuli and responses, I feel that by Dave killing a pedophile he some how felt
vindicated, because he was given no choice when he was abducted and tortured, in his mind maybe he
felt as though this pedophile shouldn t have the choice to live, and he could gain some power, again

The Pros of Being a Vegetarian
Pro Planet. Pro Animals. Pro Health: The Pros of Vegetarianism. Vegetarianism, is it just a fad, or will
it continue to cultivate and grow more mainstream than it is today? All signs are indicating that it will,
indeed, continue to grow. As many as 3.2% to 6% of the U.S. adult population is a vegetarian (Parker
1). If one loves life, why not try vegetarianism? Having a vegetarian diet not only saves animals, but
also improves health and uses less of our planet s diminishing resources. The earliest known practice
of vegetarianism was in ancient Greece. Vegetarianism was encouraged by the famous Greek
philosophers, such as Pythagoras and Socrates. They stated that it was unclean and unfair to the living

Eating just one pound of meat emits the same amount of greenhouse gasses as driving an SUV for 30
miles (Knopper 6). While it may seem small, but many people can truly make an impact on Earth in
reducing wastes and various harmful effects. Perhaps the most associated reason by non vegetarians
are the rights of animals. It has been reported that the average American will consume nineteen
thousand animals in his or her lifetime. There are many absolutely grotesque and gruesome stories of
animals waiting to die, stories that I will not divulge here, but the magnitude of it is worthy of
researching on one s own time. The ethical treatment of animals a moral that many vegetarians believe
and follow. This is largely reason enough to become of vegetarian, but combined with the many other
reasons; vegetarianism is too hard to turn a blind eye towards. Vegetarianism has become mainstream
in many ways because of the many celebrities that practice it. Some of the more contemporary ones
include, Carrie Underwood, Paul McCartney, Demi Moore and Ellen DeGeneres. Albert Einstein has
been quoted as saying, Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on
earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Another quote concerning vegetarianism that I
personally found intriguing originates from Gandhi, It is very significant that some of the most
thoughtful and cultured men

  • 2. Supervisor Monologue I don t know what to do anymore, I say as I run the blade down the road on my wrist. I cried softly, hoping no one can hear me. I don t want to be in this world anymore. How can I live in the world when everyone hates me? My parents abused me all the time before they died. I guess it s now taking an effect on me. My friends all stabbed my back a thousand times. I Wish I didn t tell them my secrets. They just went and told everyone else and now I m known as the town slut. Even my boyfriend hates me. Or should I say ex boyfriend. He proved it today. (Flashback) I was walking to class. I saw two people kissing next to the lockers and thought I wish my boyfriend and I were like that. As I got closer, it was my boyfriend with another girl. How could he? He said he loved me. We all lie at one point in our lives. Am I right? He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Don t mess up so you lose him. He s also the cutest supervisor. He looks at me, then goes and holds Georgia. :Don t tell the others, he whispers to me. I nodded. I slowly fade back to sleep. I dream, but more like a nightmare. (Nightmare) Alex was packing. My parents were hugging him, begging him not to leave. Alex puts his stuff in his car. He walks to mom and dad, he hugs them, walks to his car and leaves. Dad walks inside the house and slaps me. He screams at me, blaming me for Alex leaving when Alex promised he would stay until they died. Mom walks in, calls me stupid and tells me to go my room, and only leave if I need to go to school (Nightmare over). Lucas comes into the room. Time to get up, he says. I sit up on the bed. Computers And The Single Computer Platform Whenever people play on their phones, work on their computers, or are just chilling out and playing games on the gaming consoles they own they don t ever really think about what s behind the program, app, or game they are playing. The thought of what makes them up is never really a big deal and the thought of how much work went into all those tiny details never crosses their minds. It all just comes together in this one big program that nobody really gives a second thought about. Whenever I say that word, programming, someone may think just simply building websites or even making computer games, while these are correct, there is a completely different side to it that isn t really as fun. Now computers can t just use English they have to tell the computer in one of its many different languages that can be changed into binary code, what you want it to do. These languages range from high level and obscure to low level and popular ( Defining High, Mid, and Low Level Languages ). Number wise there are very many, if you are just counting main languages there are at a minimum hundreds and if counting all of them including the obscure languages then over a thousand. Some of the more common ones some of you might have heard of them, mentioned previously Java which most every internet user has heard. Then there is C which Programming in C is efficient and gives the programmer a great deal of control ( How C Programming Works ). Java is actually built off of the language C. This language isn t used very often but it has very many plus sides of learning it, this language can be used on different platforms; laptops, desktops, and smart phone. This language will also help with the understanding with many higher level languages. The last of the more common ones I am going to list is C++, which sounds an awful like C but it has a lot of improvements that C doesn t necessarily have. It maintains the same simplicity as C but it also has features that make it easier to write for higher leveled programs. It can also make small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Isaac Luria Research Paper Religions have historically incorporated elements of mysticism into their broader teachings in order to help explain the inexplicable or to provide alternate routes to the Divine for their followers. While more the conservative sects of a religion typically look down upon mystical schools of thought for straying too far away from what is written in their sacred texts, most will simply accept them as another group of lost souls looking for answers to the universe s deepest questions. In Judaism, mystical tradition is referred to as Kabbalah and, unlike most other mystical schools of thought, it stays true to the smallest details of Jewish Law. This close attention to remaining consistent with greater Jewish tradition has made Kabbalah more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ibn Zimra was a master of rabbinic law, authoring over 2,500 rabbinic legal opinions and other Kabbalistic works. One of his Kabbalistic writings delves into the mystical explanation for the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, even exploring the significance of their individual shapes (Fine 35). Furthermore, historical documents from this period suggest that Luria was one of ibn Zimra s top students by the age of 23. This reveals how Luria s knowledge and understanding of halakhic and rabbinic writings were well beyond his years; his studies under ibn Zimra made him into an outstanding, highly skilled legal scholar in a fairly short amount of time. Because of this, Luria transitioned from being a mere student to entering the most important rabbinic circle of Egypt, continuing his halakhic work with ibn Zimra s successor, Bezalel Ashkenazi. In addition to building up his Jewish education while living in Egypt, Luria worked as a commercial trader in the 1550s, facilitating the exchange of goods between Egypt, Turkey and Italy (Fine 29 33). This smaller aspect of Luria s life in Egypt may have contributed to his development by bringing him into to contact with different cultures, religions, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a prominent person, maybe a lead singer, and a background. Even without the background, there may still be a song. The piano, drum set, background singers, string instruments, guitar, bass guitar and the toms add to the song because they add their own dynamic to it. They all play a crucial and different role in the song as well. The overall effect of the song, Hello, by Adele is effective in communicating the message of the song. Each section that I talked about above gives unique qualities to the song that make people interested and like the song. I like how throughout the song, it builds more and more slowly by adding instruments or even just instruments playing louder dynamics as the song builds. Williams came from a pretty well known family; his mother being former model Laurie McLaurin, and his father, Robert Fitzgerald Williams, a Ford Motor Company executive. His great great grandfather was Mississippi Governor and Senator Anselm J. McLaurin. Growing up in Chicago, Williams was lonesome and was often found playing with toys by himself in his family s suburban mansion and not with any of the other kids his age. No one had thought that Williams would become the brilliant comedian and actor that he became. One reason that Andrew Jackson acted like a king was because he owned slaves throughout his lifetime. Document 7 states that he owned the most slaves when he was president. He acted like a king because you can not own the common man if you are the common man. This means that if Andrew Jackson was the hero of the common man, he would not be able to own slaves. The slaves WERE the common men. If Andrew Jackson was one of them he would ve been working for someone, but instead he acted like a king because he was the one having common men work for him. I walked into my parent s room, and I found my mother rushing to gather things to go somewhere. Curiously, I asked my mom where she was going, and why she was in such a rush. My mom said, Julia was in a bad car accident on the way home from school and is headed to the hospital. I m going up there to see if there is anything I can do to help. Immediately many questions came to my mind, but I knew that it would be best to not ask until she was sure of the answers and had more information. Julia was family to me, but not my blood. I have known her since I was born, and she has always been around since. Her Aunt is my mother s best friend as well as my Godmother. She has known Julia s family for over 30 years. I wasn t as close to Julia as I would ve liked to be, but I still knew her very well. She was only 17 years old and it was her Senior year in high school. Since my mom is a Pediatric nurse at Baptist, it was no surprise to me that my mom was going there to help. I told her to update me as soon as she found out anything. After my mom left to go to the hospital, I sat on the couch anxiously waiting for any information from her. Eventually my mom texted me saying that she was in critical condition and in a coma. Although throughout history, morals and ethics have been used interchangeably, they are in fact not one in the same. Morality is within oneself and develops over a period of time as a result of meeting and resolving moral issues as they come forth, whereas ethics is essentially a moral compass, or a set of rules one follows throughout the course of their life (Crebert, Patrick, Cragnolini, 2004). The reasons for doing so was to limit the trade off between the emissions produced and performance of the vehicle (Davenport, Ewing, 2015). The implications of this in the real world is vast, affecting various interested parties around the world. Not only do employees, consumers and shareholders feel misguided and lied to, but also society as a whole. Truthfulness and transparency are fundamental concepts of morality that I use to define my life, and should have been executed in the case of Volkswagen. If they were transparent with their fundamental operations from the beginning, these corporate lies would never have occurred. The Volkswagen scandal has caused, and will further cause, many consequences affecting major associated parties. Consequences of this scandal extenuate to the individual, organisational and social components of society. The individual consequences caused are mainly comprised of consumers and how they have been affected. Consumers, overall, have felt that they have been blatantly lied to and misguided by Volkswagen (Northern Daily Leader, 2015). This demonstrates that Volkswagen seemingly do not possess the moral trait of transparency amongst its operations with various stakeholders. Another aspect of society that has been adversely affected by this scandal is the organisational component. Volkswagen has had harsh financial repercussions, posting its first ... • 33. Mystic River Criminal Behavior Social Process and Learning Theories of Crime Mystic River Andrea Vermilyea University of Northern Colorado Is criminal behavior a learned behavior? Is it simply dependent upon ones environment or is it much more complex? Many theorists have examined criminal behavior, such as Edwin Sutherland, Pavlov along with Hirschi. Sutherland, who devised the differential association theory, according this theory he stated that criminality is learned from those who are close to us, or whom we have a close association with. An individual s behavior may be deviant if those whom they are associated with are also involved in aberrant behavior. The behaviors of individuals in this community could be viewed as cyclical, as many of these behaviors have been passed down from generation to generation. This idealism can be directly related to the theorists in the Chicago School, in that people can absorb deviant norms from the environments to which they are reared. I feel that the learning theories observed in this film are the differential association theory, as the characters show criminal behavior being emphasized with peers and how they learn to handle their strives, such as Jimmy killing Ray, Ray s son killing Jimmy s daughter. Having a vegetarian diet not only saves animals, but also improves health and uses less of our planet s diminishing resources. The earliest known practice of vegetarianism was in ancient Greece. Vegetarianism was encouraged by the famous Greek philosophers, such as Pythagoras and Socrates. They stated that it was unclean and unfair to the living animals around them (Driscoll ... While it may seem small, but many people can truly make an impact on Earth in reducing wastes and various harmful effects. Perhaps the most associated reason by non vegetarians are the rights of animals. It has been reported that the average American will consume nineteen thousand animals in his or her lifetime. There are many absolutely grotesque and gruesome stories of animals waiting to die, stories that I will not divulge here, but the magnitude of it is worthy of researching on one s own time. The ethical treatment of animals a moral that many vegetarians believe and follow. This is largely reason enough to become of vegetarian, but combined with the many other reasons; vegetarianism is too hard to turn a blind eye towards. Vegetarianism has become mainstream in many ways because of the many celebrities that practice it. Some of the more contemporary ones include, Carrie Underwood, Paul McCartney, Demi Moore and Ellen DeGeneres. Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying, Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Another quote concerning vegetarianism that I personally found intriguing originates from Gandhi, It is very significant that some of the most thoughtful and cultured men ...
