Solution, concentration and extermination camps were implemented in an attempt to rid of the Jewish
population entirely. Such a task, genocide, would not be done easily. By the end of World War II, over
six million Jews had been killed. However, not merely Jews were subject to mass murder, but nearly
five million non Jewish people. Out of all of these deaths, a range from 1,885,889 to 2,045,215 were
in the concentration camp system. Furthermore, approximately one million of these deaths were
carried out within the Auschwitz concentration camp complex. Thus, one in every six Jews killed
during the holocaust was killed at an Auschwitz camp. These extermination camps were the only
means by which such a multitude of murder could have been efficiently accomplished. The systematic
mechanization of mass murder, using gas chambers and crematoria, made such high death tolls
fathomable, making efficient killing easier both physically and psychologically.

camps had commonly been constructed in desolate places, free from German jurisdiction. Thus,

Everything looked like what you would expect of the late 1800 s. Horse drawn carriages, suspenders,
paved streets, it all really added to the movie and helped the story along instead of getting in the way.
Something that I think genuinely worked in their favor was the contrast between the wealthy and the
poor. Take David s family for example, a family of five living in what looks to be a studio apartment,
maybe a one bedroom and contrast that with Joseph Pulitzer s office at the top of a tall, domed
building finished off with a gold coat. Also, the music used in the background was nice to help create
suspense, I specifically liked how in spots during the second half you could hear pieces of Santa Fe
float around. Along with that, this is a musical, songs are a large part of the plot and how the story is
told and I believe that the songs were quite effectful. Songs where all of the boys sing together, like
The World Will Know and Seize the Day , were really strong and gave you this feeling of power,

The concept of designer babies has been around for a long time. You only have to look at works of
fiction such as Brave New World and Frankenstein to see the interest such a topic creates in people s
imagination. Now that this science has become a reality, it is increasingly possible to see the
