Issues In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Many times we think what issues in the past have nothing to do with what happens today.
Sometimes problems back then compared to now are over rated but that s not true at all. During the
20th century, people started to view life in a different perspective and were changing their attitudes.
Slowly, people started to change their clothing, hair, music styles and opinions. This was a century
of different opinions and change. Some issues in the pastduring the 20th century still apply to us
today. A issue that came up was the parties. F. Scott Fitzgerald called it a time
when the parties were
bigger, the pace was faster, the buildings were higher, the morals looser. This phrase is very true.
People s opinions on how life should be celebrated

Haplogroup I Essay
Haplogroup I represents the largest and oldest haplogroup throughout Europe with few
exceptions. The origins of haplogroup I are thought to begin with haplogroup IJ from the Middle
East as far back as 40,000 years ago. The mutation of Haplogroup I occurred some 25,000 years
after the formation of haplogroup IJ. I includes Cro Magnons who were also thought to belong to IJ.
In short, some 40,000 30,000 years ago, the central ancestors from haplogroup IJ migrated to what
is now Scandinavia and Finland and then mutated into haplogroup I about 25,000 years ago.
Haplogroup I and its Major Subclaves
There is a lot of information that the subclades provide. They tell the story of geologic events such
as glaciation and other barriers to migration. They also tell the story of cultural shifts in humanity.
Haplogroup I1 Northern Europe
Populations in Scandinavia and Finland often hold more than 35 percent of the mutation that makes
up I1 and the Norse ethnicity. The I1 subclade is the Viking and Germanic story and follows in
relationship to the Germanic language.
In terms of time, I1 began some 20,000 years ago. Genetically, I1 holds 25 plus mutations within
the Y chromosome; a sign that genetic bottleneck events occurred. Life, in those early years, was
not easy for the people who made up I1.

incredible odds, and yet not all of the mutations made it. That is the power of natural selection on

Taking a Look at World War II
THE WAR
The second world war officially began on September 1,1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The
reason given by Hitler for the invasion was the Gleiwitz incident, which saw Poles attack the
German radio station Sender Gleiwitz on August 31, 1939. It later emerged that they were actually
SS agents in disguise and that the attack was done so as to justify the impending invasion of
Poland. The Soviet Union also attacked Poland from the east after signing non aggression pacts
with Germany and Japan. The United Kingdom and France declared war on Germany on
September 3, heralding the global nature of the war.
Poland was overrun in less than a month and Germany aimed to consolidate their advantage by
invading Denmark and Norway for getting access to iron ore shipments from Sweden which was
cut off owing to the naval blockade imposed by the allies .The Soviet Union, in turn, attacked
Finland. In addition, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg also fell to the German forces.
Germany next prepared for the invasion of France. The French had the heavily fortified Maginot
line which they hoped would contain the advancing German troops. However, the Germans
unexpectedly progressed through the Ardennes forest and bypassed the Maginot line, rendering the
French defence useless. Italy also attacked France on June 10,1940 and Paris fell four days later.
France was divided in to German and Italian spheres of influence.

Twelfth Night Foils
People have shiny and dull sides just like people in the comedic play Twelfth Night by William
Shakespeare and in Missing Fathers: Twelfth Night, The Reformation Of Mourning. by Suzanne
Penuel and Melville s The Lightning Rod Man As Foil by Linda Pergolizzi Gallagher. This writing
shows great information of foil characters especially in Twelfth Nightwhere Viola and Olivia
identify foil characters. One of them will materialize as the successful foil character. Twelfth Night
describes about two royal sibling crashing in the country that they identify at war with. They get
separated and happen to disguise themselves, meanwhile there a love circle exists and a bunch of
similar and different people, they happen to locate Viola and Olivia that... Show more content on

All through books, plays, and all literature foil characters endure in writing. In the article by
Suzanne Penuel, Missing Fathers: Twelfth Night And The Reformation Of Mourning she says
many things about Twelfth Night, but a solid part of her article is about foil characters and how
Viola and Olivia foil with each other. She states foil of, Such a Sebastian (my emphasis) implies
that father and son were alike in more than name, and Viola s likeness to her brother is therefore
likeness to her father. This twinning, then, is a reminder of the paternal, as is even her
evasively self duplicating confession of love to Orsino (Penuel 6). This quote describes Viola
and her foil with Olivia and how her father died, and the resemblance to each other. This article
remains full of proof of foil characters. More data of foil characters are here, Olivia s dead brother
is hard to distinguish from her father... More important, the brother has duplicated the father, first
as protector and then as decedent. Likewise, although Viola s disguise makes her a mirror image
of her brother, her brother is at least nominally a mirror of their father (Penuel 6). Penuel has deep
credibility to Twelfth Night in her tremendous article full of beyond useful information that drowns
people in credibility to Viola and Olivia foiling. Penuel continues to discuss and prove foil
characters. She announces, And paradoxically, he must double the dying adding his own deathto
Viola s in order to do so. The suicidal duplication renders death less powerful. As significant as the
duplication, and linked to it, is the imagined leap back in history (Penuel 4). She voices a great
scare tactic in this passage that moves the thought of

The Marketing Strategy Of Marco Gianni Shoes Essay
In Marco Gianni Shoes case, basically, the owners did not have any marketing strategy. Because in
order to create a marketing strategy, there are four necessary aspects that must be considered.
First of all, the operators must be aware of their target market and what kind of product they
intend to provide to their target customers. And the next step is to make a decision about what
kind of relationship do the operators intend to form with their customers or suppliers. Thirdly, in
order to create this strategy, what level of investment is required and how will the operators
allocate and locate the required resources. Finally the operators must have detailed objectives and
action plans (David, 2015a).
It is clear that the operators of Marco Gianni Shoes did not consider all of these four aspects.
Marco Gianni Shoes opened in a fashion center of Auckland, it is a fantastic location, plenty of
customers passing by their store every day. But the owners Leo and Josth really messed up with
their market positioning. They never considered what customer segmentation they are going to
focus. And they did not think about what are the appropriate products for this customer
segmentation. So the shop was made by an Italian designed images, low price shoes that are coming
from Chinese manufacture and a very horrible indoor decoration which does not fit the high street
environment.
For the second aspect, Leo and Josth had no intention to build any relationship with both their

The Wrong Direction
Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God
wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there
are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said.
For instance, Islamwas started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with Godand
became a prophet. Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however,
when Mohammed came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the
message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion:
Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many... Show

The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a
Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die,
based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for
forgiveness and didn t commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person
disobeyed the Christian rules, that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific
element of religion is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for
Christians, and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the
hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will ask a favor of
God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please God, help me lose weight .
This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something
personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose
weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with
virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to
God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by
the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is
simply testing one s faith. I would

The Causes Of Famine And Poverty
As a young girl, I recall watching a documentary about a young mother in Africa who cooked
mud cakes under the blinding sun to put some source of calcium into her starving childrens body.
The cakes were made from dried dirt which was dug from the ground. While children in first
world nations take for granted the meals they receive at home and in school, every day millions of
men and women across the world struggle to feed their children a nutritious meal. As children in
the richest countries in the world throw out vast amounts of food and have developed particular
appetites for certain foods, children in developed countries go to bed with an empty stomach. Many
parents do not understand the impact of raising their children with a silver spoon in their mouth and
how it can shape them into selfish adults in the long run. It is embarrassing as an American citizen
to know that while our country is facing obesity, people in other countries are dying from
starvation. Most individuals believe that famineand povertyare merely natural phenomenon based
on geography and environment. However, these individuals fail to realize that these issues are
rooted in social relations. In order to eradicate famine and poverty within society, particular social
relations need to be eliminated.
The popular belief of why famines occur and remain to impact many nations around the world is
because of geographic location. However, tragic famines like the Irish potato famine reveal that it is
merely

Why Is Star Wars Better Than Star Trek
To some people hearing about these two film might strike nostalgia among the diehard fans. Some

The two movie I m talking about are the most well known science fiction and they are Star Wars
and Star Trek. Now to some hearing these two most well known franchise go at it sound
supplementary of which one would be better. Obviously Star Warsis the better one of the two
because it has a better storyline, great fandom, and better characters. So why is Star Wars better
than Star Trek? Well one is the storyline; of course, that s the main part of their core. Their
storyline makes them what they are. Star Trek has a open story and wide universe,

External Factors Of Hinduism And Hinduism
Hinduism has continually modified itself due to a number of external forces but also to internal
forces. External forces that have helped modify Hinduism were Buddhism, Islam, British
Colonization, Christianity and even modernity. All have played in a role in shaping or modifying
Hinduism and Indian society.
Islam s major push into India began with Mahmud of Ghazni the Turkish ruler. He had established
a Turko Afghan state boarding on Delhi. The successor to Mahmud did conquer Delhi and in turn
made it his capital. This marked the first in a series of Delhi Sultans. Their empire would
eventually reach from Punjab to Bengal. However, there is no evidence to suggest that a mass
conversion to Islam took place under this empire. While some Buddhist monasteries and Hindu
Temples were ransacked it was either due to their wealth or down by zealous Muslim rulers. Islam,
Buddhism, and Hinduism generally coexisted and had peaceful interactions.
Once Babar overthrew the Delhi Sultans he established the Mughal series of rulers over India and
became the first Mughal. They would then make Persian the official language of the government of
India. Each Mughal ruler had different attitudes towards Hinduism. Some abolished the special
taxes levied on non Muslims while others would revive the tax. However, the Mughal rulers left
their mark on Indian civil governance and architecture. Some local and regional lineage heads,
chieftains and landlords benefited from Maghul ruling. They grew

Medea Is Not A Bad Mother Essay
Society establishes a set of expectations by which males and females are expected to conduct
themselves. For example, a mother is expected to nurture her child, stay at home to take care of her
children, be patient, be kind, love unconditionally and to never get angry. If a mother does not live
up to these expectations established by society, then that motheris deemed a bad mother. Since a
mother gives birth to her children and nurtures them, a mother who kills her children is considered
to be unredeemably bad. Medea, in the play of the same name, kills her two sons and by societal
standards, she would be deemed a bad mother. Contrary to society s expectations of mothers, I will
argue that Medeais not a bad mother. I will do this by proving that: Medea defies the social
conventions of motherhood in three ways; she kills her children in order to protect them; and, that
she rebels against her husband s control and male domination by depriving him of his immortality
by killing his sons and ending his bloodline.
There are three ways in which Medea defies the social conventions of motherhood. Firstly, she
does this by not being a stay at home mother. Secondly, she demonstrates that she can be powerful
as a woman. Thirdly, she is unkind and gets angry. I will elaborate on each of these ways in the
paragraphs that follow.
The first way in which Medea challenges the social conventions of motherhood is by defying its
conventions. One of the attributes of a social definition

Prohibition And Social Deviance
Social deviance spawns from the constructed social applications. The problem with social
deviance, is it is a byproduct of social interactions based on the personal perspective and also a
tempering of community perspective. The presence of man has dawned the creation of many
things throughout human history. During the times of Prohibition there was a rise in social
depravity that could be assumed by the presence or absence of alcohol. Alcohol itself is cheap to
make and only requires a desire to produce or consume. Before the execution of prohibition laws
there were few times that social decadence made impressive foot marks while existing in a larger
phenomenon in history. Prohibition brought the reemergence of Gangsters. With gangsters... Show

Discussion The absence of alcohol left a void in different aspects of civilized life. For some this
was a past time activity that filled free time. For others this was considered a necessity of life that
required constant attention. Prohibition laws were meant to apply social pressure that carried out
a smaller groups agenda on a larger groups. The reaction was a mere causality of reciprocation for
the limitation. So the plunge into depravity became acceptance of certain selfish actions that
benefited the desire. Alcohol has acted as a social lubricant since its inception. Altering or
alleviating the boundaries drawn by human nature or social constructs. In many cases, it has altered
the course of history. In some parts of history fermented grape juice was introduced into common
practice, due to the absence of clean water. Although it did not have the pungency of modern wine,
it acted as the guide as people drank more. Such cases where seen by Christians with Sodom and
Gomora. Pagan cities riddled with moral corruption, lubricated by the vary drink later outlawed in
20th century America. Although the destruction of the cities are wildly exaggerated it lead to
uncontrolled social deviance. Human nature is destructive and requires a delicate hand when
tempering the fundamental nature of desire. Such tempering can be seen in the Muslim religion
where alcohol is outlawed, but still present due to

Urbanization Of Homelessness
After watching the Bloomington city council meeting on February 3, 2016 there were multiple
inherent issues which were discussed for the betterment of Bloomington as a whole. Some of the
topics ranged from healthcare and education, to homelessness and safety. Though many plans the
council mentioned which are currently in place are newer policies, a couple have been in place
since our country s origin. The councils use of public opinion and fundamental policies allows for
Bloomington to demonstrate an example of a successfully run city.
The first topic discussed was when the chairman of the Bloomington Human Rights Commission

With the increase in numbers, police officers would be able to crack down on urban crime, and
work toward decreasing crime rates. Additionally, in order to solve the problem of homelessness
I would suggest to take a new approach to this problem by creating more developments and
potentially providing and generating jobs for the homeless. This city planning tool is referred to
as municipalities control to direct growth and development in downtown areas. Though making
more spaces for homeless people to go helps their wellbeing, it doesn t help the fact that more
and more people are becoming homeless because they are unable to find work. By creating jobs
for a portion of the homeless that are able to work, it will decrease the number of homeless people
on the streets which will better the downtown

the fact that I sent a Na ahn to Earth in the first place, that he did not look like a traditional

I. Introduction. The Mind Body Problem Is A Problem That
I. Introduction The mind body problem is a problem that has been around for a long time. The
problem is the question Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body? , the reason
it s still a problem today is because we don t have a scientific understanding of how the mindand
body interact. The interactions of the mind and the matter of the body is seen every day. You can
only be aware of things around you through your senses. When you touch a table, your fingers tell
you through nerves that the surface you are in contact with is smooth, flat, etc. If you examine that
same surface with a high powered microscope, you will see ridges and valleys that the nerves in
your fingers cannot detect. Why is this a problem for the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

II. Leibniz Principle of Identity of Indiscernible The Leibniz Principle of Identity introduces if M =
B, then M and B share all the same properties. M has property P, b does not have property P, if m
has a property that b lacks, then m в‰ b, therefore m в‰ b. Using the superman example, Lois
Lane wants to marry Superman. Lois Lane does not want to marry Clark Kent. Therefore,
Superman is not identical with Clark Kent. In the eyes of Lois Lane, Superman is the hero she
wants to marry while Clark Kent is just a regular guy. Unknowing to her, they are both the same
person. Leibniz law shows that superman is known for all his super powers and special abilities
and everyone thinks that Clark Kent is just a regular guy so the two could not be one of the same.
When Lois lane marries Superman, she also marries Clark Kent which defeats the use of this law.
This same law can be applied to the mind body problem being that you cannot doubt having a brain
but you can doubt having a body. My body is dubitable, and it is divisible. My mind is indubitable
and it is indivisible. With that, one can say that the mind and body are two different beings because
they do not share the same properties.
III. Descartes s Argument for Dualism: The Indubitability Argument The Indubitability Argument is
basically saying I can think and perceive distinctly and clearly, therefore my mind exists; however,

The Discourse Of Multiculturalism In Canada
Canada is seen as a democratic society. It is the belief that as Canadians one is supposed to
promote the principles of justice, equality and fairness. In doing so, Canada has become one of
the most diverse country in the world. Most Canadian universities, such as Ryerson, also aims to
promote these democratic values. This done through advertising Canadian universities as inclusive
and welcoming to all students. However, this appears to be a fallacy. The reason why this is a
fallacy is because Canadian society promotes racism and discrimination in the subtlest way
possible. Society does this through making anti discrimination or anti inequity policies, but people
still do not see how it perpetuates. In Frances Henry and authors Race, racialization... Show more

According to Henry Tator, a discourse is the production of knowledge through language and social
practices that brings meaning to interactions with others (2010). Now in terms of the discourse of
multiculturalism, it is described as the tolerance, accommodation, sensitivity, harmony, and diversity
of other cultures (Henry Tator, 2010). Again, multiculturalism is seen as a good quality in Canadian
society. However, in Canadian universities the reality is that people focus on the differences
between others based on skin color. In the article, Henry et al. argues that Canadian universities are
not as tolerant of diversity as it seems to be. Many racialized and Indigenous faculty members and
students feel increasingly marginalized in the university environment due to the traditional, white,
homogenous character that is continuously practiced (Henry, et al., 2016). In other words, even
though the university advertises itself as ethnically and racially diverse, racialized and Indigenous
peoples culture seems to be overlooked. Which most often leads to stereotyping (or an
overgeneralization of a group of people based on race). When it comes to those attempting to
implement equity policies, it may be met with backlash from non racialized faculty members or
students. The reason being that one may not want to address issues of inequity. Canadian
universities would rather decide which differences can be tolerated and which differences cannot be
tolerated. In other words, because the dominant culture claims to be superior to other races,
racialized and Indigenous peoples are viewed as inferior. This should not be the case. Instead,
Canadian universities rather than finding changing this, try to uphold a good reputation and
continuously get more students or faculty members to apply to one s university. One thing that the
article did not mention is that, many students of ethnic

Henry Ford1 Essay
Henry Ford1 Octavian Augustus (63 B.C.E 14 AD) is known as the first, and one of the greatest,
Roman Emperors ever. Octavian enabled the long, peaceful time of the Pax Romana by changing
Rome from a fragile, crumbling republican government to a mighty empire. OctavianВ№s
government was strong enough to withstand weak emperors who mismanaged the Empire. His
changes proved to be the cornerstone of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. During the
Conflict of Orders, the lower class Romans, or plebeians, forced the upper class Romans, known
as patricians, to give them more rights and liberties (Hadas 1969). The Republican government in
Rome was established to satisfy the plebeians, while still leaving a majority of the control... Show

He started to accept anyone into the army regardless of whether they owned any land. This
created a vast change in the makeup of the armies. Many poor people decided to join in hopes
that they would benefit financially from any victories. Soldiers became attached to Roman
generals rather than the state because of the possible economic gains (Hanes 1997). The
governmentВ№s separation of the army would prove to be a major problem. Laws could only
be enforced if The Republic controlled the armies. When the army followed a general rather
than the government, the government lost all power. In 90 B.C.E, Roman allies in Italy finally
rebelled against the city. The allies were angry that they were not considered citizens of Rome.
They had benefited little from Roman expansion even though their citizens had served in the
military. After a very bloody campaign, the Social War, as it was called, eventually ended when
the allies were defeated. The Senate, however, decided to grant citizenship to the allies (Hanes
1997). This move expanded the Roman State to all of Italy. As the number of citizens grew, The
Republic became harder and harder to manage. During the Social Wars, one general, Lucius
Cornelius Sulla proved to be very successful in battles. Based on this military success, Sulla was
elected consul in 88 BCE After completing his term, Marius tried to stop Sulla from taking any
military command. Sulla countered by marching his troops on Rome

A Clockwork Orange Dystopia
In today s society, there is an evil that hides in the minds of rulers, governments even everyday
people. This evil lies in the crimes committed by thousands of people each year, the corruption of
governments, and the suffering of innocent people. The laws and regulations that we live by today
are put in place in order to prevent crime from encompassing everything people hold dear to stop
the bad people. In the story of A Clockwork Orangethe narrator, Alex, gives us a criminal s view of

By Rebecca Solnit, I have come to realize that my modern day life is not far from that of Alex s.
Throughout the process of reading this book I was shocked many times by the everyday acts of evil
against innocent people. It is sad to know that they are so common in our world today. Acts such as
robbery, rape and murder happen every day, and they don t always just take one thing from the
victims. As Alex often shows us, during the process of evil acts the victims are dehumanized
and beaten. The laws and regulations put in place today are supposed to protect people from
ever experiencing these horrid acts, yet even in Alex s story, little justice is done for those who
suffer. Society brings out the best and worst in people and often puts people in desperate
situations, allowing the darkness to come forth. People have become selfish, cold and heart less
without a care for the people around them. Our society and government today have created
monsters and have done so without giving any type of cure or proper treatment to bring them
back into the light. The darkness and evil that had consumed Alex is the same as the darkness
that is in our very world today. The world of darkness is breaking through the fake seams of
society that present a false picture of happiness, and if our government and people all over the
world do not make a change, it will consume us

The Law Of Conservation Of Energy
This is my Theory: God desires to be relational and recreate himself, but it can t be done because
he stands alone, omnipotent. So he continuously creates, hopefully lovingly, yet he continuously
has to substitute himself reproducing only himself again. Having beside him... nothing but God.
This is why he is praised forever and ever amen. But why he s sorry when he has to wipe out the
face of the earth with the flood during Noah s time is that he is sorry that nothing is like him. What
an honest and sincere claim for the Godof the universe! Yet he strives to still create, loving his
creations till substitution (of himself). Because some of his creation had to be destroyed due to
God s desire to be relational, yet loathe of sin. God can not recreate himself (Law of Conservation
of Energy: Energy can neither be created nor destroyed). There is only one God. That is why there
is the law of conservation of energy the energy therein can neither be created nor destroyed.
This is what I believe. It happens to correlate with what author of engaging God s world Mr.
Cornelius Plantiga Jr. has to say. Plantiga, exclaims that loveand hope are the two most pertinent
things we long for as humans/Christians. Is he right? Of course. Can anyone deny when our master
Jesus spoke the two most important commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart
and to love your neighbor as yourself? In doing these two things what comes to your life is one

Bob Dylan s Influence during the Civil Rights Movements
Music has been around since the very beginning of time. The human body flows in a rhythmic
syncopation. Music is used to change one s mood and to inspire those who open their minds. It
has the potential to cure diseases such as Parkinson s disease. Humans, of every culture and
society, function with a type of rhythmic music. As humans, we are hard wired to respond to
music (Mannes). The human brain responds to music in such a way that the brain becomes more
open to new rhythms, ideas, and values. Music has the power to take over the human body. This
makes it easier to overcome conflict and change the ideals of somebody while using music (The
Power of Music).

Dylan made the people really dig down inside of their souls to find an answer. Dylan asked, How
many years can some people exist before they re allowed to be free? How many times can a man
turn his head pretending he just doesn t see? The answer Dylan had been simply Blowin In The
Wind . Dylan left the questions open ended because he himself did not truly know the answers.
Dylan was making the nation think for themselves rather than speaking with the normality of their
family and friends.
Bob Dylan also had a heavy influence on other music artists of his time. Examiner Publishing
reported that Dylan influenced John Lennon and it would show in Lennon s lyrics. Dylan promoted
the use of Marijuana. The marijuana showed through in Lennon s lyrics. It was a domino effect.
One simple idea from Dylan would push another little idea through Lennon in which finished with
two very influential music groups.
The song directly influenced Sam Cooke. After hearing Dylan s song, Cooke wrote his song A
Change is Gonna Come . Cooke s song was a tribute in a way to Dylan. Bob Dylan showed
America that if you don t stand up for what you believe in, nothing will ever get done. If society
were to stay quiet and remain a silent majority, the Civil Rights Movement would not have been
successful. Dylan helped to give courage to the many people who were longing to be heard.

Five Forces Of The Airline Industry
Five Forces model is one way to answer the fundamental question in strategic management; Why are
some industries more attractive than others? This pattern suggests five forces that shape industry
competition; bargaining power of buyers, threat of new entrants, threat of substitutes, bargaining
power of suppliers and competitors. In order to analyze the airlineindustry, we have a look at each
of these forces.
Bargaining power of Buyers The airline industry is made up of two groups of purchasers. First,
there are individual pilot. They buy airplane tickets for a number of reasons that can be personal or
business related. This group is extremely multitudinous; most people in developed countries have
purchased the airplane ticket. They can do this through the particular airline or through the second

The Playboy Of The Western World Critique
The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the
University of Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the
intention of comedy were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in
the play, seeming like I was actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt
on this play was very worthwhile, providing both a good laugh and a superb form of
entertainment. The predominant theme of this play was the chaotic father/son relationship. The
message the play is trying to give is that children can go against their fathers, rioting against them
and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a stereotypical message of disobedience is
sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly powerless, unable to act or alter the situation
in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes children can have control over their
parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it. In the play, it was exactly
like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without ever obeying a single one of his
commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have also witnessed this situation in
other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely disturbing for me in The Playboy
of the Western World. The idea of a son killing his father was a terrible idea for my brain to
comprehend during the course of the play. However, I must say

Indonesi The Largest Economy Of South East Asia
Indonesia is the largest economy in South East Asia; it has progressed into a decentralized
electoral democracy and has managed to reduce its overall poverty from 17 percent in 2004 to 11
percent in 2014. However, despite their steady economy and major improvements, nearly 40 percent
of Indonesia lives just above the poverty line. Additionally, Indonesian public services and health
standards fall behind other middle income countries; these facts combined with their high rates of
maternal mortality, child malnutrition, and insufficient access to education place Indonesia in the
developing or Third World realm. Indonesia s history, geographic position, abundance of natural
resources, wars and conquest, as well as trade has fundamentally shaped the economic and political
structure. Furthermore, leadership influence, intervening forces, and its colonial masters have also
played a large role in constructing the systems of this developing country. The colonial period has
greatly formed Indonesia into the country it is today; however, this period did not start
immediately as outsiders entered. The Dutch first arrived in the country during the end of the 16th
century, but it took a slow process of political expansion and centuries later before they would
reach the territorial boundaries of present day Indonesia. During the 18th century the United East
India Company established itself as a major political and economical power on the island of Java.

Critique of Title IX
What if you were told that a law was made to remove discrimination of sexes in sports and
education, or that man and woman are both given equal opportunities as far as an athletic or
educational career? Would you then agree or disagree with the ideology that both sexes are still
treated different even though this law was created and the opportunities that were promised aren t
precisely indistinguishable? Title IX does not accurately protect sexual discrimination; it doesn t

Cooking The Revolution During The Nineteenth Century
Cooking the Revolution
HTS Submission to Fabrizio Ballabio
Leticia Dadalto
In the nineteenth Century the kitchen worked as the machinery. It had to be the biggest room of
the plan in order to support all the apparatus needed for the housework: the stove, the sewing
machine and the fridge were basically built in architecture elements. That results in a very
unhealthy and harsh environment that keeps the house working. Each family had its own house
and its own land where their own food was produced and their own clothes were sewn by the
enslaved housewife: the whole system was based in isolation (Hayden, 1982). It is curious to notice
how Woman s History started changing around design iterations of this once oppressive space.
In the mid 1800, names like Ernest Engels, Charles Fourier, Melusina Fey Peirce, the Beecher
sisters and Louise Bourgeous started to propose different organisations. The Material Feminists,
who believed in the economical independence of woman as the way to provide them freedom,
were supported by the Community Socialists (or Utopian Socialists) for the creation of ideal
societies with no distinction between class or gender (Hayden, 1982:10). The support between
these thinkers emphasises that in order to change woman s condition there is a need for changing
the home design as well as the household and the economical system. The patriarchic organisation
of the house can be considered a political economical system in a

The Muslim-Christian Response To The Crusades
Rich in delightful episodes and dramatic events, spread over two centuries and three continents, the
Crusades were one of the fascinating events of Muslim Christian encounters. The Crusades
constitute a series of almost two century long military campaigns (1095 1291) conducted by the
Christians of Western Europe against the Muslims in the land of Palestine and the eastern
Mediterranean coastal strip. The Christian aim was to wrest the Holy Land, Jerusalem, from the
Muslims. Annoyed, angered, frightened, and disgusted by the presence of uninvited aliens in the
midst of their cultures, the Muslim response to the Crusadeswas initially one of intermittent,
unorganised, and disrupted by a preoccupation with internal problems. Later Muslims, however,...

The concept is widespread and deep rooted both in the modern Islamic political ideologies and the
Christian Europe. Since the historic significance of the Crusades during the first half of the second
millennium CE cannot be denied by either the Muslims or Christians. However, it may be argued
that the Muslim interest in the Crusades has been more a matter of curiosity than a sense of the
relevance of these events in modern times. For the Christians of Western Europe, it seems that these
events are still pertinent to their lives and thought, because the concept behind them evokes a
feeling of service to God and righteousness. In the twentieth century, the Arab world rediscovered
the Crusades, viewing them as symbols for current political problems. Some saw the medieval
Crusading states as protocolonists , the precursors of Napoleon in Egypt, the British Mandate for
Palestine, the state of Israel, and the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. The Crusades marked the
initial phase of Western imperialism in the region (isti mar mubakkar or premature imperialism).
For other Muslims, the Crusades have been seen in religious terms, as part of a continuing conflict
between Christianity and Islam. The brutality of their campaigns, particularly in comparison with
the noble reputation of Ṣalāḥ al Dīn Ayyūbī, continues to colour Muslim perception of
the Christian West. One Arab intellectual, AmД«n

Edward s Life Had Been Perfect
Edward slowly stalked out of the dark, dusty cell. A guard lay motionless next to the open door,
his throat slit and his face drained of color. He had been trapped in the tiny room for months and
he was finally free. He inhaled deeply, taking in the ancient, musty air. The corridor that
contained his cell was dark, damp, and humid. There were streaks of red along the walls, most
likely due to the massive iron deposits above his underground prison. Edward took all of this in

to the light and he instinctively shut them. When they readjusted, Edward s eyes saw an

Fission Vs Nuclear
There are many ways to fuel the world s needs for electrical power, but we acquire our needs
mostly from three energy sources: coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy (Cravens, 11). Yet from
fossil fuels the emission of carbon dioxide (~1400 grams COв‚‚ equivalent per kWh) and toxic
waste produced from the burning of aforementioned fossil fuels kills more than 20,000
Americans annually (Cravens, 13), while nuclear energy (and its outputs) have not killed a

Carpetbaggers
Carpetbaggers were northerners who headed to the southern states during and immediately after
the Civil War, propelled by wanting to work on behalf of liberated slaves, a desire for economic
gain, or a mix of both. Carpetbaggers got their name because many of them had large bags made
from carpets to hold their belongings. Although many in the South saw carpetbaggers as people
who wanted to exploit and profit from the south s misfortunes, Carpetbaggers would play an
important role in shaping the south s government during Reconstruction. African Americans in
the south who had just been emancipated were restricted their freedom when southern
legislatures passed black codes , which forced them into repressive labor situations. The Black
Codes were laws designed with the intention to guarantee African American s availability as a
cheap labor force after slavery was eliminated during the Civil War, and to keep white supremacy

Why Should We Have Mandated Early Intervention And Early...
Alexis Smith

Final Exam
Why should we have mandated early intervention and early childhood education for children with
disabilities and their families? Provide a rationale for each. 8 pts.
The benefits of early intervention (EI) and early childhood education (ECE) are very clear. They
help improve children s skills, knowledge, and way of navigating the world while having some
form of a disability. EI is usually provided in the child s home, giving their family the
opportunity to learn more about their child and how to assist in creating a better life for him
/her. It also gets the entire family involved in the care of the child, which is important for parents
who feel that they may not be able to make a difference in their child s life or for parents who
believe it is their fault that their child has a disability. Through education and services provided,
the family will be able to function as efficiently as would a family who doesn t have a member
with a disability.
Early childhood education is especially helpful for each individual child with a disability. It puts
them in a place of inclusion while improving their language and social skills and gives them a
place outside of the home to achieve goals that are more individualized and about them rather than
their family. Being in an inclusive environment with peers their age would increase their social
skills and help them to navigate the world around with less barriers. These skills

Benefits Of Stereotyping
Stereotyping is useful although only used if to make things easier and the goal is for
empowerment and improvement. I have a son who has a learning disability and in this case this
term can get sticky!
Most people automatically assume that speaking, communication and interaction with someone
with a learning disability is difficult, impossible and some may say useless. These are stereotypes
that are unproductive.
Yet knowing that people feel this way is an empowerment to those who work so diligently to make
sure that this does not happen. By stereotyping say a child with slow processing speed or ADHD as

different things it can be useful....again only if it is done in the manner of making it useful. I think
without singling out the disabilities and stereotyping and generalizing the specifics of somethings
there would be less advancements. This must be why professionals do constant testing to make

Pardoner). A pardoner usually worked under the authority of a Bishop. There is a great deal of
evidence that many pardoners were fraudulent, and also saw their role as an opportunity to take
thieve money from the poor and helpless. All a Pardoner needed to sell indulgences was a fine
looking array of letters along with positive manner in making the appeal to scheme commoners of
their money(The Role of the Pardoner). Pardoners also sold holy relics which were artefacts
claimed to be bones, body parts, scraps of clothing, or personal belongings of saints which held
powers unknown to man. Geoffrey Chaucers Pardoner from The Canterbury Talesshows similar
characteristics and traits to ones of the medieval time period. Chaucer s Pardoner from The
Canterbury Tales falls directly under the category of being corrupt and unethical for he uses false
certificates and relics to extort money for himself; therefore, he is criticizing the corruption of the
church. The Pardoner s Prologue begins with the Pardoner explaining to the pilgrims about
himself and also shows off some of his relics. The relics are a counterfeit, however the Pardoner
says it does not phase him because he will still be able to

The 1992 US Men s College Basketball Team
Dedication. Teamwork. Leadership. Success. Those are four traits the U.S. and the 1992 U.S.
Men s Olympic Basketball Team, also known as The Dream Team, have in common. Without
question, The Dream Team was the best team to ever be assembled in the history of sports and it
was created after a devastating third place in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Ready to
come back winning, the U.S. compiled eleven all star NBA players (Michael Jordan, Larry Bird,
Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, etc.) and one college player (Christian Laettner) who is known as
the best college basketballplayer ever. The eleven out of twelve future hall of famers were
accustomed to being number one of their own respective teams, but when they were all put together,

Analysis Of If Black English IsnT A Language Then Tell Me...
James Baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, and poet. In the essay If Black
English Isn t a language, then tell me what is? James Baldwin asserts an argument as how
Language is like the ID of people, it can identify, as well as define people. Due to the
characteristics it has, it can be defined as a persuasive essay. It attempts to persuade the readers
to be on the writer s side, or accept the point of view of the author. This significant essay was
written in the 1970s. It indicates how language is not merely used for communication, but can be
used to classify people with different social backgrounds and class. Baldwin used examples like
how people in England talk make sense to their own people and not everyone else. He used this
example to illustrate his thought of why Black English is not recognized as a real language. In
addition, he thought that the white man never meant to teach the Blacks English. That is also the
reason why he thinks black children are lost, and can t be taught by people who despise them. The
inability of the salves to interact with each other made them create black English. Which was their
own means of communication. Baldwin s article has a lot to say about the impact that language has
on African Americanpeople and his positive approach is supported with strong historical events, and
the author s anger behind this writing makes it stronger. However, the assumption about education
makes the article weak, because it is not well

Texting And Communication Essay
Ever taken the advantage of texting or video call to communicate with people instead of
gathering the confidence and talking in person? The amount of texting in this society has
increased gradually over the past decade with a percentage of over 7,700% (Burke). Since the
development of communication on modern technology, this generation s ability to communicate
in person has been damaged through lack of face to face interactions and improper grammar.
Although texting and social media may benefit relationships in long distance, privacy is invaded
and the lack of interactions in person can damage relationships. Furthermore, texting has
changed the way the world communicates because it provides an easier option for people to
choose to contact people. To begin with, texting has changed the way society in the 21st century
communicates because it deprives social skills of a person. The increasing amount of
conversations developed on technology has affected the confidence and social skills of this
generation because communicating behind a screen is different from communicating in person.
Before sending a message, an individual can erase and retype a message before a mistake is
sent. On the other hand, in a verbal conversation, errors are irreversible once something is said.
Several people have turned to technology to get over their fears of confronting people. Not only
does this decrease the confidence of social skill in this generation, it also increases cyberbullying, a

Analysis Of Esters Lab Report
PREPARING ESTERS
INTRODUCTION
An ester is an organic compound where the hydrogen in the compound s carboxyl group is
replaced with a hydrocarbon group. Esters are derived from carboxylic acids and (usually) an
alcohol (Helmensine A, 2017). The reaction required to produce an esteris called esterification.
Esterification is the reaction in which a Carboxylic acid combines with an alcohol in the presence
of a catalyst (commonly concentrated sulphuric acid) to form an ester (Esterification, 2017). This
is an example of a general class of reactions called condensations.
Esters are common in our everyday lives. Esters are colourless, volatile liquids with pleasant
aromas and create the fragrances and flavours of many flowers and fruits (Organic Chemistry Life,
2013).
Esters are also excellent solvents for organic compounds. Sunburns lotions, nail polish removers,
plasticisers and glues use esters as solvents (Veerenda, 2017).
The aim of this experiment was to investigate different reactions between a range of alcohols and
carboxylic acids to produce a variety of esters of different odours and discover how they can be
used commercially in household products. MATERIALS METHODS
The experiment was divided into three parts. Firstly, to record the aroma of each alcohol and
carboxylic acid that would be used in the experiment. Secondly, to prepare five different esters and
record the results. Finally, reporting the balanced equations for each of the

Annotated Bibliography On Color Barcode
II.LTERATURE REVIEW
1)Homayoun Bagherinia, Roberto Manduchi, had proposed the for University of California, Santa
Cruz A novel approach for color barcode decoding using smartphones
The use of colors increases the information storage capacities in barcodes. Increasing the number
of color stolen code information makes the decoding a challenging task due to the dependency of
the surface color on the illuminant spectrum, viewing parameters, printing device and material.
The decoding becomes more challenging if a mobile phone as a decoding device is used due to
the capture of image from different distances as well as angles. We present an iterative decoding
algorithm that decodes the colors of all barcode patches across the barcode by ... Show more content

5) Amin Motahari , Member, IEEE, and Malek Adjouadi , Member, IEEE had Praposed the work
for Barcode Modulation Method for Data Transmission in Mobile Devices In this study, a new
approach for data modulation in 2 D barcodes is introduced, and its performance is evaluated in
comparison to other standard method of barcode modulation. In this new approach, orthogonal
frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is used together with differential phase shift
keying (DPSK) over adjacent frequency domain elements. A specific aim of this study is to
establish a system that is proven tolerant to camera movements, picture blur, and light leakage
within neighboring pixels of an LCD.
III. THE PROPOSED PICODE SYSTEM In this section, the proposed PiCode system is described
with an emphasis on the novel aspects of the image modulation and demodulation process. For the
modulation part the details of the modulation scheme will be presented to illustrate how PiCode
preserves the perceptual quality of the embedded image while minimizing the interference of the
latter incurred on the modulation waveform. For the modulation part, the algorithms for performing
discrete cosine transform, block division will be described.

The Museum Of Contemporary Art Cleveland
From Euclid Avenue to the east, visitors will enjoy the various buildings in Cleveland. From the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the Tower City, to the University Circle, where there are many of
amazing museums. No matter the famous Cleveland museum of art or Natural History Museum.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, is undoubtedly a unique one. During the day,
pedestrians and passersby see themselves reflected in the surface. As dusk sets in the building s
interior reveals itself and guests get clear views into the building. Glass windows cut diagonally
across several facets of the building following the building s geometry and creating banner like
views into all four floors.

Looking inside the building, color plays a crucial role in Museum of Contemporary Art
Cleveland building while the buildings dark reflective exterior offers little evidence of the
interior structure. The experience inside is more open and translucent. After entering the
building, guests will identify that individual floors through pale grey striping and full glass
windows that reveal different interior. Back of house, spaces like exhibition workshops and
conference rooms contrasting these light gray bands of color the building envelope hovers
above the interior space like an abstracted shell. One of the most striking aspects of this envelope
is its color. The interior is treated with an intense white and blue fireproof paint that immerses
guests in the experience of color a hue that has been the topic of intense artistic scrutiny in
modern and contemporary art(New Museum of Contemporary Art, 2015). Blue is a highly
elusive color as FNMA design architect Elliott Hodge s notes quote Farshid Mousavi was inspired
by Yves Klein in the selection of blue from interior (Grabowski, J. J., Van Tassel, David D, 2006).
In particular, a blue that would read Dark first and blue second. visible in almost every public

A Pair Of Silk Stockings, A Shameful Affair, And The Story...
What is social expectation and how does it affects one s life? In the short stories A Pair of Silk
Stockings , A Shameful Affair , and The Story of Hour by Kate Chopin from the novel The
Awakening and Selected Stories of Kate Chopin, they uncover the expected roles and
responsibilities of women in the early 1900s. Through imagery and diction, Chopin reveals that
people tend to fall into others expectations upon their marriage and even before it, which leads to
lose their personal freedom and gain desires in conflict with social expectations.
First, numerous people especially women in the early 1900s fall into others expectations upon and
before their marriage. In A Pair of Silk Stockings and A Shameful Affair , two of their main
characters are women, and they both fall into societal expectations about them where they later lose
their freedom. For example, in A Pair of Silk Stocking , Chopin targets the social expectationupon
one s marriage where she describes the usual mother s responsibilities by saying A dollar or two
should be added to the price usually paid for Janie s shoes, which would insure their lasting an
appreciable time longer than they usually did () As Chopin utilizes imagery, this infers an image
of what Mrs. Sommers plans to do as a mother, who she carefully plan her money to buy new
clothes for her children. Moreover, the word insures means to arrange compensation for damage
that is done to the event, whereas the word appreciable means large enough to be noticed. Yet,
both connotes a stable lasting which further reveal that one of the mother s roles that is expected
by the society is to know how use the money wisely for their children without falling in debt. Thus,
the responsibilities of a mother have overloaded her where she later turn in self indulgent.
Likewise, Chopin not only portrays how women fall into others expectations upon their marriage
yet they also fall into it before their marriage. In the short story A Shameful Affair , the author
describes the primary character as Mildred Kraummer, who she falls in love with the one of the
farmhands. While Mildred meets him fishing, they accidentally give a kiss where the author
narrates He kissed her lips... Shame

Orpheus And Eurydice In Boethius The Consolation Of...
In Boethius The Consolation of Philosophy, he provides in the twelfth poem of his third book, a
summary of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. He utilizes the tale to showcase a parallel
between their tragic love and the Christian s relationship with God.
Orpheus yearning for his deceased wife is similar to the strong belief a Christian has for God.
Considering Boethius, and others of his time, viewed God as the embodiment of goodness, the
beginning lines of his poem, Happy, the one who can see/ the clear source of good,/ happy, the
one who can release/ the chains of heavy earth can represent a Christian (Boethius lines 1 4). The
person who is happy is the believer because they can see the source of good which indicate God.
Similarly, the release from earth also implies the necessity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although it is Hades who challenges Orpheus, it can be argued Eurydice sends her lover to hell for
his failure. As stated in the poem, he looked, lost, fell (line 51). He loses Eurydice because he
fails to trust in the person who is behind him and disobeys the order given to him. The moral
message and final line given in this poem is essentially a rewording of the previously cited line,
one loses when one sees the lower worlds (line 58). Yet, there does exist a small difference
between the two lines, in which the final message claims seeing the lower worlds suggest failure.
This line would suggest seeing Eurydice therefore equates to seeing the lower worlds or, in other
words, Hell. Moreover, the reason why Orpheus fails is because of his growing distrust. His
inability to believe Eurydice is behind him parallels the idea of a believer doubting in their God.
Sinners or those who go against God are punished, and to teach Christians, Boethius demonstrates
Orpheus punishment for disobeying the action required of

Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling Methods
As research across all fields and topics evolve, techniques on how to improve research endeavors,
such as statistical modeling techniques, become important to utilize. Hierarchical linear modeling,
similarly known as multilevel modeling, has been a statistical approach that has gained attention
and improved the analysis and interpretation of research data (Osborne, 2000). Hierarchical linear
modelingis a regression based statistical analysis that considers the hierarchical (i.e., multiple levels;
nested) nature of variables within a dataset. Hierarchical data is data that has an organizational
structure consisting of units of groups (i.e., levels) that are clustered under a larger group.
Therefore, the variables within a dataset may have mediating effects and such effects can only be
explored when taking into account the clustering of groups in the data.
Prior to the wide spread use of hierarchical linear analyses, data that was structured hierarchically in
nature was not analyzed appropriately due to the neglect of considering the correlated, underlying
relationships among independent and dependent variables. Considering the correlated parameters
of a proposed relationship within a dataset is of importance because the relating parameters would
indicate that the variables are not independent. Thus, violating the assumption of independence and
increasing the likelihood to make a Type 1 error, in addition to resulting in biased standard errors
and hypothesis tests.

Biography Of Felix Mendelssohn s The Mendelssohn Quartet
The piece my ensemble piece will be performing is the Mendelssohn Quartet Op.44, movement
1. The composer, Felix Mendelssohn was born on February 3, 1809, in Hamburg. Germany. As a

Sometimes problems back then compared to now are over rated but that s not true at all. During the 20th century, people started to view life in a different perspective and were changing their attitudes. Slowly, people started to change their clothing, hair, music styles and opinions. This was a century of different opinions and change. Some issues in the pastduring the 20th century still apply to us today. A issue that came up was the parties. F. Scott Fitzgerald called it a time when the parties were bigger, the pace was faster, the buildings were higher, the morals looser. This phrase is very true. The origins of haplogroup I are thought to begin with haplogroup IJ from the Middle East as far back as 40,000 years ago. The mutation of Haplogroup I occurred some 25,000 years after the formation of haplogroup IJ. I includes Cro Magnons who were also thought to belong to IJ. In short, some 40,000 30,000 years ago, the central ancestors from haplogroup IJ migrated to what is now Scandinavia and Finland and then mutated into haplogroup I about 25,000 years ago. Haplogroup I and its Major Subclaves There is a lot of information that the subclades provide. They tell the story of geologic events such as glaciation and other barriers to migration. They also tell the story of cultural shifts in humanity. Haplogroup I1 Northern Europe Populations in Scandinavia and Finland often hold more than 35 percent of the mutation that makes up I1 and the Norse ethnicity. The I1 subclade is the Viking and Germanic story and follows in relationship to the Germanic language. In terms of time, I1 began some 20,000 years ago. • 6. Taking a Look at World War II THE WAR The second world war officially began on September 1,1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The reason given by Hitler for the invasion was the Gleiwitz incident, which saw Poles attack the German radio station Sender Gleiwitz on August 31, 1939. It later emerged that they were actually SS agents in disguise and that the attack was done so as to justify the impending invasion of Poland. The Soviet Union also attacked Poland from the east after signing non aggression pacts with Germany and Japan. The United Kingdom and France declared war on Germany on September 3, heralding the global nature of the war. Poland was overrun in less than a month and Germany aimed to consolidate their advantage by invading Denmark and Norway for getting access to iron ore shipments from Sweden which was cut off owing to the naval blockade imposed by the allies .The Soviet Union, in turn, attacked Finland. In addition, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg also fell to the German forces. Germany next prepared for the invasion of France. The French had the heavily fortified Maginot line which they hoped would contain the advancing German troops. However, the Germans unexpectedly progressed through the Ardennes forest and bypassed the Maginot line, rendering the French defence useless. Italy also attacked France on June 10,1940 and Paris fell four days later. France was divided in to German and Italian spheres of influence. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Twelfth Night Foils People have shiny and dull sides just like people in the comedic play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare and in Missing Fathers: Twelfth Night, The Reformation Of Mourning. by Suzanne Penuel and Melville s The Lightning Rod Man As Foil by Linda Pergolizzi Gallagher. This writing shows great information of foil characters especially in Twelfth Nightwhere Viola and Olivia identify foil characters. One of them will materialize as the successful foil character. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All through books, plays, and all literature foil characters endure in writing. In the article by Suzanne Penuel, Missing Fathers: Twelfth Night And The Reformation Of Mourning she says many things about Twelfth Night, but a solid part of her article is about foil characters and how Viola and Olivia foil with each other. She states foil of, Such a Sebastian (my emphasis) implies that father and son were alike in more than name, and Viola s likeness to her brother is therefore likeness to her father. This twinning, then, is a reminder of the paternal, as is even her evasively self duplicating confession of love to Orsino (Penuel 6). This quote describes Viola and her foil with Olivia and how her father died, and the resemblance to each other. This article remains full of proof of foil characters. More data of foil characters are here, Olivia s dead brother is hard to distinguish from her father... More important, the brother has duplicated the father, first as protector and then as decedent. Likewise, although Viola s disguise makes her a mirror image of her brother, her brother is at least nominally a mirror of their father (Penuel 6). Penuel has deep credibility to Twelfth Night in her tremendous article full of beyond useful information that drowns people in credibility to Viola and Olivia foiling. Penuel continues to discuss and prove foil characters. She announces, And paradoxically, he must double the dying adding his own deathto Viola s in order to do so. The suicidal duplication renders death less powerful. As significant as the duplication, and linked to it, is the imagined leap back in history (Penuel 4). • 8. The Marketing Strategy Of Marco Gianni Shoes Essay In Marco Gianni Shoes case, basically, the owners did not have any marketing strategy. Because in order to create a marketing strategy, there are four necessary aspects that must be considered. First of all, the operators must be aware of their target market and what kind of product they intend to provide to their target customers. And the next step is to make a decision about what kind of relationship do the operators intend to form with their customers or suppliers. Thirdly, in order to create this strategy, what level of investment is required and how will the operators allocate and locate the required resources. Finally the operators must have detailed objectives and action plans (David, 2015a). It is clear that the operators of Marco Gianni Shoes did not consider all of these four aspects. Marco Gianni Shoes opened in a fashion center of Auckland, it is a fantastic location, plenty of customers passing by their store every day. But the owners Leo and Josth really messed up with their market positioning. They never considered what customer segmentation they are going to focus. And they did not think about what are the appropriate products for this customer segmentation. So the shop was made by an Italian designed images, low price shoes that are coming from Chinese manufacture and a very horrible indoor decoration which does not fit the high street environment. • 9. The Wrong Direction Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said. For instance, Islamwas started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with Godand became a prophet. Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however, when Mohammed came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion: Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die, based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for forgiveness and didn t commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person disobeyed the Christian rules, that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific element of religion is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for Christians, and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will ask a favor of God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please God, help me lose weight . This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is simply testing one s faith. • 10. The Causes Of Famine And Poverty As a young girl, I recall watching a documentary about a young mother in Africa who cooked mud cakes under the blinding sun to put some source of calcium into her starving childrens body. The cakes were made from dried dirt which was dug from the ground. While children in first world nations take for granted the meals they receive at home and in school, every day millions of men and women across the world struggle to feed their children a nutritious meal. As children in the richest countries in the world throw out vast amounts of food and have developed particular appetites for certain foods, children in developed countries go to bed with an empty stomach. Many parents do not understand the impact of raising their children with a silver spoon in their mouth and how it can shape them into selfish adults in the long run. It is embarrassing as an American citizen to know that while our country is facing obesity, people in other countries are dying from starvation. Most individuals believe that famineand povertyare merely natural phenomenon based on geography and environment. However, these individuals fail to realize that these issues are rooted in social relations. In order to eradicate famine and poverty within society, particular social relations need to be eliminated. The popular belief of why famines occur and remain to impact many nations around the world is because of geographic location. However, tragic famines like the Irish potato famine reveal that it is merely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. External Factors Of Hinduism And Hinduism Hinduism has continually modified itself due to a number of external forces but also to internal forces. External forces that have helped modify Hinduism were Buddhism, Islam, British Colonization, Christianity and even modernity. All have played in a role in shaping or modifying Hinduism and Indian society. Islam s major push into India began with Mahmud of Ghazni the Turkish ruler. He had established a Turko Afghan state boarding on Delhi. The successor to Mahmud did conquer Delhi and in turn made it his capital. This marked the first in a series of Delhi Sultans. Their empire would eventually reach from Punjab to Bengal. However, there is no evidence to suggest that a mass conversion to Islam took place under this empire. While some Buddhist monasteries and Hindu Temples were ransacked it was either due to their wealth or down by zealous Muslim rulers. Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism generally coexisted and had peaceful interactions. Once Babar overthrew the Delhi Sultans he established the Mughal series of rulers over India and became the first Mughal. They would then make Persian the official language of the government of India. Each Mughal ruler had different attitudes towards Hinduism. Some abolished the special taxes levied on non Muslims while others would revive the tax. However, the Mughal rulers left their mark on Indian civil governance and architecture. • 13. Medea Is Not A Bad Mother Essay Society establishes a set of expectations by which males and females are expected to conduct themselves. For example, a mother is expected to nurture her child, stay at home to take care of her children, be patient, be kind, love unconditionally and to never get angry. If a mother does not live up to these expectations established by society, then that motheris deemed a bad mother. Since a mother gives birth to her children and nurtures them, a mother who kills her children is considered to be unredeemably bad. Medea, in the play of the same name, kills her two sons and by societal standards, she would be deemed a bad mother. Contrary to society s expectations of mothers, I will argue that Medeais not a bad mother. I will do this by proving that: Medea defies the social conventions of motherhood in three ways; she kills her children in order to protect them; and, that she rebels against her husband s control and male domination by depriving him of his immortality by killing his sons and ending his bloodline. There are three ways in which Medea defies the social conventions of motherhood. Firstly, she does this by not being a stay at home mother. Secondly, she demonstrates that she can be powerful as a woman. Thirdly, she is unkind and gets angry. I will elaborate on each of these ways in the paragraphs that follow. The first way in which Medea challenges the social conventions of motherhood is by defying its conventions. One of the attributes of a social definition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Prohibition And Social Deviance Social deviance spawns from the constructed social applications. The problem with social deviance, is it is a byproduct of social interactions based on the personal perspective and also a tempering of community perspective. The presence of man has dawned the creation of many things throughout human history. During the times of Prohibition there was a rise in social depravity that could be assumed by the presence or absence of alcohol. Alcohol itself is cheap to make and only requires a desire to produce or consume. Before the execution of prohibition laws there were few times that social decadence made impressive foot marks while existing in a larger phenomenon in history. Prohibition brought the reemergence of Gangsters. With gangsters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Discussion The absence of alcohol left a void in different aspects of civilized life. For some this was a past time activity that filled free time. For others this was considered a necessity of life that required constant attention. Prohibition laws were meant to apply social pressure that carried out a smaller groups agenda on a larger groups. The reaction was a mere causality of reciprocation for the limitation. So the plunge into depravity became acceptance of certain selfish actions that benefited the desire. Alcohol has acted as a social lubricant since its inception. Altering or alleviating the boundaries drawn by human nature or social constructs. In many cases, it has altered the course of history. In some parts of history fermented grape juice was introduced into common practice, due to the absence of clean water. Although it did not have the pungency of modern wine, it acted as the guide as people drank more. Such cases where seen by Christians with Sodom and Gomora. Pagan cities riddled with moral corruption, lubricated by the vary drink later outlawed in 20th century America. Although the destruction of the cities are wildly exaggerated it lead to uncontrolled social deviance. Human nature is destructive and requires a delicate hand when tempering the fundamental nature of desire. Though many plans the council mentioned which are currently in place are newer policies, a couple have been in place since our country s origin. This city planning tool is referred to as municipalities control to direct growth and development in downtown areas. Though making more spaces for homeless people to go helps their wellbeing, it doesn t help the fact that more and more people are becoming homeless because they are unable to find work. The problem is the question Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body? , the reason it s still a problem today is because we don t have a scientific understanding of how the mindand body interact. The interactions of the mind and the matter of the body is seen every day. You can only be aware of things around you through your senses. Leibniz Principle of Identity of Indiscernible The Leibniz Principle of Identity introduces if M = B, then M and B share all the same properties. M has property P, b does not have property P, if m has a property that b lacks, then m в‰ b, therefore m в‰ b. Using the superman example, Lois Lane wants to marry Superman. Lois Lane does not want to marry Clark Kent. Therefore, Superman is not identical with Clark Kent. In the eyes of Lois Lane, Superman is the hero she wants to marry while Clark Kent is just a regular guy. Unknowing to her, they are both the same person. Leibniz law shows that superman is known for all his super powers and special abilities and everyone thinks that Clark Kent is just a regular guy so the two could not be one of the same. When Lois lane marries Superman, she also marries Clark Kent which defeats the use of this law. This same law can be applied to the mind body problem being that you cannot doubt having a brain but you can doubt having a body. My body is dubitable, and it is divisible. My mind is indubitable and it is indivisible. With that, one can say that the mind and body are two different beings because they do not share the same properties. III. It is the belief that as Canadians one is supposed to promote the principles of justice, equality and fairness. In doing so, Canada has become one of the most diverse country in the world. Most Canadian universities, such as Ryerson, also aims to promote these democratic values. This done through advertising Canadian universities as inclusive and welcoming to all students. Again, multiculturalism is seen as a good quality in Canadian society. However, in Canadian universities the reality is that people focus on the differences between others based on skin color. In the article, Henry et al. argues that Canadian universities are not as tolerant of diversity as it seems to be. Many racialized and Indigenous faculty members and students feel increasingly marginalized in the university environment due to the traditional, white, homogenous character that is continuously practiced (Henry, et al., 2016). In other words, even though the university advertises itself as ethnically and racially diverse, racialized and Indigenous peoples culture seems to be overlooked. Which most often leads to stereotyping (or an overgeneralization of a group of people based on race). When it comes to those attempting to implement equity policies, it may be met with backlash from non racialized faculty members or students. The reason being that one may not want to address issues of inequity. Canadian universities would rather decide which differences can be tolerated and which differences cannot be tolerated. In other words, because the dominant culture claims to be superior to other races, racialized and Indigenous peoples are viewed as inferior. This should not be the case. Instead, Canadian universities rather than finding changing this, try to uphold a good reputation and continuously get more students or faculty members to apply to one s university. One thing that the article did not mention is that, many students of ethnic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Henry Ford1 Essay Henry Ford1 Octavian Augustus (63 B.C.E 14 AD) is known as the first, and one of the greatest, Roman Emperors ever. Octavian enabled the long, peaceful time of the Pax Romana by changing Rome from a fragile, crumbling republican government to a mighty empire. OctavianВ№s government was strong enough to withstand weak emperors who mismanaged the Empire. His changes proved to be the cornerstone of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. During the Conflict of Orders, the lower class Romans, or plebeians, forced the upper class Romans, known as patricians, to give them more rights and liberties (Hadas 1969). Many poor people decided to join in hopes that they would benefit financially from any victories. Soldiers became attached to Roman generals rather than the state because of the possible economic gains (Hanes 1997). The governmentВ№s separation of the army would prove to be a major problem. Laws could only be enforced if The Republic controlled the armies. When the army followed a general rather than the government, the government lost all power. In 90 B.C.E, Roman allies in Italy finally rebelled against the city. The allies were angry that they were not considered citizens of Rome. They had benefited little from Roman expansion even though their citizens had served in the military. After a very bloody campaign, the Social War, as it was called, eventually ended when the allies were defeated. The Senate, however, decided to grant citizenship to the allies (Hanes 1997). This move expanded the Roman State to all of Italy. As the number of citizens grew, The Republic became harder and harder to manage. Why Is Barry Minkow Unethical After reading the case, it was truly fascinating how a very young man, Barry Minkow, could pull off such a huge fraud and how greed and audaciousness can make someone become so unethical. The red flags the auditors should have picked up when conducting the audit included rapid growth, bank transfers and other accounts, the avoidance of confirming the insurance restoration jobs, consistency of all the invoices, extravagant life style, cash flow problems, and problems meeting loan payments. Acts such as robbery, rape and murder happen every day, and they don t always just take one thing from the victims. The Playboy Of The Western World Critique The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the University of Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the intention of comedy were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in the play, seeming like I was actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt on this play was very worthwhile, providing both a good laugh and a superb form of entertainment. The predominant theme of this play was the chaotic father/son relationship. The message the play is trying to give is that children can go against their fathers, rioting against them and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a stereotypical message of disobedience is sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly powerless, unable to act or alter the situation in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes children can have control over their parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it. In the play, it was exactly like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without ever obeying a single one of his commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have also witnessed this situation in other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely disturbing for me in The Playboy of the Western World. • 30. Cooking The Revolution During The Nineteenth Century Cooking the Revolution HTS Submission to Fabrizio Ballabio Leticia Dadalto In the nineteenth Century the kitchen worked as the machinery. It had to be the biggest room of the plan in order to support all the apparatus needed for the housework: the stove, the sewing machine and the fridge were basically built in architecture elements. That results in a very unhealthy and harsh environment that keeps the house working. Each family had its own house and its own land where their own food was produced and their own clothes were sewn by the enslaved housewife: the whole system was based in isolation (Hayden, 1982). It is curious to notice how Woman s History started changing around design iterations of this once oppressive space. In the mid 1800, names like Ernest Engels, Charles Fourier, Melusina Fey Peirce, the Beecher sisters and Louise Bourgeous started to propose different organisations. The Material Feminists, who believed in the economical independence of woman as the way to provide them freedom, were supported by the Community Socialists (or Utopian Socialists) for the creation of ideal societies with no distinction between class or gender (Hayden, 1982:10). The support between these thinkers emphasises that in order to change woman s condition there is a need for changing the home design as well as the household and the economical system. The Crusades constitute a series of almost two century long military campaigns (1095 1291) conducted by the Christians of Western Europe against the Muslims in the land of Palestine and the eastern Mediterranean coastal strip. The Christian aim was to wrest the Holy Land, Jerusalem, from the Muslims. Since the historic significance of the Crusades during the first half of the second millennium CE cannot be denied by either the Muslims or Christians. However, it may be argued that the Muslim interest in the Crusades has been more a matter of curiosity than a sense of the relevance of these events in modern times. For the Christians of Western Europe, it seems that these events are still pertinent to their lives and thought, because the concept behind them evokes a feeling of service to God and righteousness. In the twentieth century, the Arab world rediscovered the Crusades, viewing them as symbols for current political problems. Some saw the medieval Crusading states as protocolonists , the precursors of Napoleon in Egypt, the British Mandate for Palestine, the state of Israel, and the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. The Crusades marked the initial phase of Western imperialism in the region (isti mar mubakkar or premature imperialism). For other Muslims, the Crusades have been seen in religious terms, as part of a continuing conflict between Christianity and Islam. Through education and services provided, the family will be able to function as efficiently as would a family who doesn t have a member with a disability. Early childhood education is especially helpful for each individual child with a disability. It puts them in a place of inclusion while improving their language and social skills and gives them a place outside of the home to achieve goals that are more individualized and about them rather than their family. Being in an inclusive environment with peers their age would increase their social skills and help them to navigate the world around with less barriers. These skills ... • 40. Benefits Of Stereotyping Stereotyping is useful although only used if to make things easier and the goal is for empowerment and improvement. I have a son who has a learning disability and in this case this term can get sticky! Most people automatically assume that speaking, communication and interaction with someone with a learning disability is difficult, impossible and some may say useless. These are stereotypes that are unproductive. Yet knowing that people feel this way is an empowerment to those who work so diligently to make sure that this does not happen. By stereotyping say a child with slow processing speed or ADHD as a child that cannot pay attention long or needs things to be concrete and direct you know how to hold a conversation effectively. Without these stereotyping characteristics there is bound to be information that is not received. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Be very specific. When he looks as if he has no idea what I am talking about....it is just that. And most children with the same type of disability have the same hardships with communication!!! Wow, I cannot believe I am saying this!!! I never realized or sat and thought that by stereotyping different things it can be useful....again only if it is done in the manner of making it useful. I think without singling out the disabilities and stereotyping and generalizing the specifics of somethings there would be less advancements. This must be why professionals do constant testing to make sure that they do not stereotype a child into one category and leave that stereotype as a label! Again making sure that is is always for the betterment of the child not what we know of a typical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Characters Of The Pardoner From The Canterbury TalesBy... In the medieval church, a pardoner was a clergy member who had the authority from the pope to grant indulgences to people who showed great charity. Pardoners were originally called questors who gained the named Pardoner for their ability to pardon people of their sins(The Role of the Pardoner). A pardoner usually worked under the authority of a Bishop. There is a great deal of evidence that many pardoners were fraudulent, and also saw their role as an opportunity to take thieve money from the poor and helpless. All a Pardoner needed to sell indulgences was a fine looking array of letters along with positive manner in making the appeal to scheme commoners of their money(The Role of the Pardoner). Pardoners also sold holy relics which were artefacts claimed to be bones, body parts, scraps of clothing, or personal belongings of saints which held powers unknown to man. Geoffrey Chaucers Pardoner from The Canterbury Talesshows similar characteristics and traits to ones of the medieval time period. Chaucer s Pardoner from The Canterbury Tales falls directly under the category of being corrupt and unethical for he uses false certificates and relics to extort money for himself; therefore, he is criticizing the corruption of the church. The Pardoner s Prologue begins with the Pardoner explaining to the pilgrims about himself and also shows off some of his relics. The relics are a counterfeit, however the Pardoner says it does not phase him because he will still be able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Analysis Of If Black English IsnT A Language Then Tell Me... James Baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, and poet. In the essay If Black English Isn t a language, then tell me what is? James Baldwin asserts an argument as how Language is like the ID of people, it can identify, as well as define people. Due to the characteristics it has, it can be defined as a persuasive essay. It attempts to persuade the readers to be on the writer s side, or accept the point of view of the author. This significant essay was written in the 1970s. It indicates how language is not merely used for communication, but can be used to classify people with different social backgrounds and class. Baldwin used examples like how people in England talk make sense to their own people and not everyone else. He used this example to illustrate his thought of why Black English is not recognized as a real language. In addition, he thought that the white man never meant to teach the Blacks English. That is also the reason why he thinks black children are lost, and can t be taught by people who despise them. The inability of the salves to interact with each other made them create black English. Which was their own means of communication. Baldwin s article has a lot to say about the impact that language has on African Americanpeople and his positive approach is supported with strong historical events, and the author s anger behind this writing makes it stronger. However, the assumption about education makes the article weak, because it is not well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Texting And Communication Essay Ever taken the advantage of texting or video call to communicate with people instead of gathering the confidence and talking in person? The amount of texting in this society has increased gradually over the past decade with a percentage of over 7,700% (Burke). Since the development of communication on modern technology, this generation s ability to communicate in person has been damaged through lack of face to face interactions and improper grammar. Although texting and social media may benefit relationships in long distance, privacy is invaded and the lack of interactions in person can damage relationships. Furthermore, texting has changed the way the world communicates because it provides an easier option for people to choose to contact people. To begin with, texting has changed the way society in the 21st century communicates because it deprives social skills of a person. The increasing amount of conversations developed on technology has affected the confidence and social skills of this generation because communicating behind a screen is different from communicating in person. Before sending a message, an individual can erase and retype a message before a mistake is sent. On the other hand, in a verbal conversation, errors are irreversible once something is said. Several people have turned to technology to get over their fears of confronting people. Not only does this decrease the confidence of social skill in this generation, it also increases cyberbullying, a form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Analysis Of Esters Lab Report PREPARING ESTERS INTRODUCTION An ester is an organic compound where the hydrogen in the compound s carboxyl group is replaced with a hydrocarbon group. Esters are derived from carboxylic acids and (usually) an alcohol (Helmensine A, 2017). The reaction required to produce an esteris called esterification. Esterification is the reaction in which a Carboxylic acid combines with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst (commonly concentrated sulphuric acid) to form an ester (Esterification, 2017). This is an example of a general class of reactions called condensations. Esters are common in our everyday lives. Esters are colourless, volatile liquids with pleasant aromas and create the fragrances and flavours of many flowers and fruits (Organic Chemistry Life, 2013). Esters are also excellent solvents for organic compounds. Sunburns lotions, nail polish removers, plasticisers and glues use esters as solvents (Veerenda, 2017). The aim of this experiment was to investigate different reactions between a range of alcohols and carboxylic acids to produce a variety of esters of different odours and discover how they can be used commercially in household products. MATERIALS METHODS The experiment was divided into three parts. Firstly, to record the aroma of each alcohol and carboxylic acid that would be used in the experiment. Secondly, to prepare five different esters and record the results. Finally, reporting the balanced equations for each of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Annotated Bibliography On Color Barcode II.LTERATURE REVIEW 1)Homayoun Bagherinia, Roberto Manduchi, had proposed the for University of California, Santa Cruz A novel approach for color barcode decoding using smartphones The use of colors increases the information storage capacities in barcodes. Increasing the number of color stolen code information makes the decoding a challenging task due to the dependency of the surface color on the illuminant spectrum, viewing parameters, printing device and material. The decoding becomes more challenging if a mobile phone as a decoding device is used due to the capture of image from different distances as well as angles. • 48. A Pair Of Silk Stockings, A Shameful Affair, And The Story... What is social expectation and how does it affects one s life? In the short stories A Pair of Silk Stockings , A Shameful Affair , and The Story of Hour by Kate Chopin from the novel The Awakening and Selected Stories of Kate Chopin, they uncover the expected roles and responsibilities of women in the early 1900s. Through imagery and diction, Chopin reveals that people tend to fall into others expectations upon their marriage and even before it, which leads to lose their personal freedom and gain desires in conflict with social expectations. First, numerous people especially women in the early 1900s fall into others expectations upon and before their marriage. In A Pair of Silk Stockings and A Shameful Affair , two of their main characters are women, and they both fall into societal expectations about them where they later lose their freedom. For example, in A Pair of Silk Stocking , Chopin targets the social expectationupon one s marriage where she describes the usual mother s responsibilities by saying A dollar or two should be added to the price usually paid for Janie s shoes, which would insure their lasting an appreciable time longer than they usually did () As Chopin utilizes imagery, this infers an image of what Mrs. Sommers plans to do as a mother, who she carefully plan her money to buy new clothes for her children. Moreover, the word insures means to arrange compensation for damage that is done to the event, whereas the word appreciable means large enough to be noticed. Yet, both connotes a stable lasting which further reveal that one of the mother s roles that is expected by the society is to know how use the money wisely for their children without falling in debt. Thus, the responsibilities of a mother have overloaded her where she later turn in self indulgent. Likewise, Chopin not only portrays how women fall into others expectations upon their marriage yet they also fall into it before their marriage. In the short story A Shameful Affair , the author describes the primary character as Mildred Kraummer, who she falls in love with the one of the farmhands. While Mildred meets him fishing, they accidentally give a kiss where the author narrates He kissed her lips... Shame ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Orpheus And Eurydice In Boethius The Consolation Of... In Boethius The Consolation of Philosophy, he provides in the twelfth poem of his third book, a summary of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. He utilizes the tale to showcase a parallel between their tragic love and the Christian s relationship with God. Orpheus yearning for his deceased wife is similar to the strong belief a Christian has for God. Considering Boethius, and others of his time, viewed God as the embodiment of goodness, the beginning lines of his poem, Happy, the one who can see/ the clear source of good,/ happy, the one who can release/ the chains of heavy earth can represent a Christian (Boethius lines 1 4). The person who is happy is the believer because they can see the source of good which indicate God. Similarly, the release from earth also implies the necessity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although it is Hades who challenges Orpheus, it can be argued Eurydice sends her lover to hell for his failure. As stated in the poem, he looked, lost, fell (line 51). He loses Eurydice because he fails to trust in the person who is behind him and disobeys the order given to him. The moral message and final line given in this poem is essentially a rewording of the previously cited line, one loses when one sees the lower worlds (line 58). Yet, there does exist a small difference between the two lines, in which the final message claims seeing the lower worlds suggest failure. This line would suggest seeing Eurydice therefore equates to seeing the lower worlds or, in other words, Hell. Moreover, the reason why Orpheus fails is because of his growing distrust. His inability to believe Eurydice is behind him parallels the idea of a believer doubting in their God. Sinners or those who go against God are punished, and to teach Christians, Boethius demonstrates Orpheus punishment for disobeying the action required of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling Methods As research across all fields and topics evolve, techniques on how to improve research endeavors, such as statistical modeling techniques, become important to utilize. Hierarchical linear modeling, similarly known as multilevel modeling, has been a statistical approach that has gained attention and improved the analysis and interpretation of research data (Osborne, 2000). Hierarchical linear modelingis a regression based statistical analysis that considers the hierarchical (i.e., multiple levels; nested) nature of variables within a dataset. Hierarchical data is data that has an organizational structure consisting of units of groups (i.e., levels) that are clustered under a larger group. Therefore, the variables within a dataset may have mediating effects and such effects can only be explored when taking into account the clustering of groups in the data. Prior to the wide spread use of hierarchical linear analyses, data that was structured hierarchically in nature was not analyzed appropriately due to the neglect of considering the correlated, underlying relationships among independent and dependent variables. Considering the correlated parameters of a proposed relationship within a dataset is of importance because the relating parameters would indicate that the variables are not independent. Thus, violating the assumption of independence and increasing the likelihood to make a Type 1 error, in addition to resulting in biased standard errors and hypothesis tests. ...
