Snap Traps
What are some ways to kill a wild animal in the yard? Realistically probably the only way it would be
considered humane to kill a wild animal that was in your yard would be to capture it alive and
euthanize it using the CO2 method. This method is pretty simple you get a bag large enough to put
cage in and seal up and the smaller container in which you put vinegar and baking soda, when you
mix these two they produce CO2, once the concentration of CO2 in the bag reaches over 30% the
animal will pass out and then soon afterwards it will die. Using that method means of course that you
first have to catch the animal alive and a lot of people really have no skills in that area and when they
usually try to catch an animal they fail. There are a heap of other methods that people use to kill
animals that are causing them problems, most of these revolve around lethal traps, the main two types
being snap traps which are the ones you mainly use to kill rats, mice and squirrels, as you can see
these are all small animals and that is what the basic snap trap you buy from the hardware store is
good for. The other main type of lethal trap a squeeze trap, this trap looks very similar to a cage trap
but instead of a gate closing behind the animal and locking it in, in this trap two metal plates slam shut

The Most Iconic Figures Of The 20th Century
Dictionary.com defines the word Icon as a person or thing that is revered or idolized , that sums up
John Lennon pretty well; he was an icon in many different ways. He was a musician, an activist, and a
legend.
Born on October 9th, 1940 in Liverpool Maternity Hospital in Liverpool, England, John Lennon was
born, and so began what would become a journey that would lead to Lennon becoming one of the
most iconic figures of the 20th century.
His Father was often away, but he continued to support Lennon and his Mother with regular checks,
until his Father stopped in 1944, and he wouldn t return until six months later, where after many
heated debates, Lennon s Father forced him to choose between his Mother or him, at the age of 5, and
after choosing his Father twice, saw his Mother begin to walk away and at that moment decided to
choose her instead. John Lennon wouldn t see his Father again until he was 25. Despite what
happened with his parents, he would live the rest of childhood with his Aunt and Uncle. When
questioned about his upbringing, Lennon said Part of me would like to be accepted by all facets of
society and not be this loudmouthed lunatic poet/musician. But I cannot be what I am not ... I was the
one who all the other boys parents including Paul s father would say, Keep away from him ... The
parents instinctively recognised I was a troublemaker, meaning I did not conform and I would

The Theory Of Association Rule Mining
As with the development of the IT technologies , the amount of cumulative data is also Growing. It
has resulted large amount of data stock in databases therefore the Data mining comes into model to

Gordie Howe In Hockey
Hockey has many aspects to the game including how it came about as national sport in the world
today and creating one of the greatest hockey players Gordie Howe who played for the Detroit Red
Wings. Gordie Howe grew up in a small town that goes by Saskatoon where he learned to play
hockey. Howe spent most of his winters on any ice surface he could get his skates on. Howe loved to
play hockey even though his family was challenged on the wealth side of things. He got his first pair
of skates from a neighbor, the skates were far too big so he put on multiple pairs of socks so they
would fit and so he could skate. Eventually he grew out of his skates and he had to strap blades to his
everyday shoes. Howe developed a health threatening calcium deficiency ... Show more content on

Gordie Howe managed to play a solid 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. He won the Red Wings
to 4 Stanley Cups, and even Grezinsky Idolized him. Howe played 32 seasons of hockey a majority of
them with the Red Wings. He played Right Wing by scoring in all kinds of different maneuvers . He
handled the puck very well by setting up his teammates by giving precise passes and sniping the
corners. Gordie Howe had hat tricks here and there from season to season, but Howe did however
create a new hat trick called the Gordie Howe hat trick which is one fight, one goal, and a assist.
During the time that Howe played helmets were not required so he received numerous injuries,
including 500 stitches in the face. But Howe kept living his dream. Howe teamed up with Sid Abel
and Ted Lindsay to become the Red Wings production line. The Wings dominated the league in the
1950s. The players on the production line could be blindfolded and they still could know where the
other player is on the ice. Howe was eventually 1st or 2nd NHL team 21 times. He helped the Red
Wings win the Stanley cup in 1950, 52 , 54 ,and 55 . Even Grezinsky recognized how good he was,
then again Grezinsky was only a kid. After playing with the Red Wings for so long he had ended his
hockey career, but later he played with his sons and a couple other NHL

Hassan Farhang Ansari
Because the Shi a philosophy considers the renewal in ijtihad and in fiqh is always a possibility, and it
takes pride as one of their main important aspects of their law. It makes possible a more contemporary
perspective of the women s role in today s world.
No wonder then that the Shi a approach to women s rights is evolving . Hassan Farhang Ansari
brilliantly discusses in his article, The Shiite Interpretation of the Status of Women, that women
always had an important role in Shia religion, starting with the Prophet s daughter Fatima who brought
an incredible insight into the history of the Islam and was the fiercest defender of Ali s right to
succession. Also Zeynab, who was always at the side of Husayn in Kerbala and who later on took over
the duty to protect her family and her brother, the next Imam, to assure the transmission of the
political and religious message of the Islamic movement. These are crucial differences from Sunni
jurisprudence (Ansari, 2016) https://www.ias.edu/ideas/2016/ansari shiite women Since 1959 the

them, therefore, they have less religious charisma in the community. Shia believes in the visitation of

Alta California was the Last Expansion of Spain’s Empire...
The Spanish in contact with California occurred in the mid 1530s when Cortez s men ventured to Baja
California. They began to sail north to Alta California and established 21 missions. The expedition to
Alta California was the last greatest expansion of Spain s empire in North America. The missions were
a series of religious and military settlements established by the padre. The Spanish constructed the
missions to gain control and power over the land in California. San Francisco Solano Mission was the
last mission established in Sonoma, the Valley of the Moon, resulted an important historical event in
California and the existence of the California flag. The Spanish arrival to California created a major
impact to the lives of the native Indians, and there were many significant events occurred among the
Spaniards, the native Indians, and the Americans before California became a part of America.
San Francisco Solano Mission was founded on July 4th, 1823 by Fr. Jose Altamira, Father Altamira,
which was the last mission in California. The mission got its name from St. Francis Solano,
missionary to the Peruvian Indians (Simondi). After the arrival of Father Altamira, he decided to
create a new mission north of San Francisco Bay. He selected the sight of the mission with the
approval of Governor Luis Arguello, but he did not ask the church for an official approval. Also, he
wanted to close down the mission at San Rafael and San Francisco because the Governor s concern

China Missile Of The South China Sea
China deploying missiles in the South China Sea Since September 2015, China has begun to increase
the arming of the islands in the South China Sea on the islands that China claims belongs to them. The
claiming of the Paracel Islands and the Spratly Islands by China are creating panic for its neighbors,
Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Because, China is ignoring the claims the nations
have on the Islands in the South China Sea. Most recently, China has made a political decision to
deploy missiles on Woody Island in the South China Sea, an island that is very close to the Philippines
and Taiwan. China claims that the island belongs only to China and no one else, but there are
Vietnamese, Philippine, and Taiwanese claims on the islands in the South China Sea as well that China
is ignoring that is creating unrest in the South China Sea. China s claim on the islands in the South
China Sea for themselves and the creation of artificial islands are very important to me because China
is violating international law and the claims of other nations. As a result of this, if China was to
disregard the claims that Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Philippines have on the Paracel chain islands in the
South China Sea then a war might take place between China and the allies of the U.S. such as, Taiwan
and the Philippines. If war was to break out between China and the allies of the U.S. it is very likely
that the U.S. will send forces to assist its allies in war. Because I am eighteen

Fistfight In Heaven
Throughout The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, Sherman Alexie describes Indian culture
and life on the reservation. Alexie is the author of books, poems, and movie scripts, and he grew up on
the Spokane Indian Reservation in Washington. In his writing, he remembers his Native America
history and their lifestyle after the European controlled their society. Throughout his stories, the author
tells the audience about the Indian culture and the problems and issues that occurred inside the
reservation. Of all the stories, I think Indian Education is the most important in the book because it
describes a story about an Indian boy. The author shows the reader what it means for an Indian, like

book that he used to make up a character that tells the Indian history and culture that follows from
thousand years ago, but there are other Indian families who faced more struggle. There are many
stories from this the book that relate to the Indian education story. From other chapters of the book,
there are lots of Indians who are alcoholic and live with dreamless poverty on the reservation. In the
Indian culture, they believed skeletons are made of memories, dreams, and voices. From those
reasons, Indians never wears a watch because they think skeletons would remind them. In another
story from the book, the author uses unknown characters and describe his troubles when he walks into
the third Avenue 7 11, and he gets called to the police from the store because of his dark skin and long
hair. Another reason, he argued with his girlfriend because of the criminal appearance that makes him
trouble. Later that night, an unknown character is driving a car in a nice residential neighbor where he

N. Scott Momaday s The Way To Rainy Mountain
When reading, The Way to Rainy Mountain I found out one of the most prolific American Indian
writers of the 20th century was N. Scott Momaday, and he grew up on many different Indian
reservations in southwest American. He first lived with his grandparents on the Kiowa reservation.
Then N. Scott Momaday moved to Arizona where his parents were teachers on Indian reservations.
This exposed Momaday to the traditions of his Kiowa ancestry, as well as the traditions of other tribes,
such as the Apache, Pueblo, and Navajo.
As I was reading on I found that N. Scott Momaday went to college and earning a degree in political
science from the University of New Mexico, N. Scott Momaday gravitated toward literature,
eventually earning a doctorate in English literature from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
I found that alongside N. Scott Momaday he pursued creative scholarly writing, Momaday pursued
creative writing, and he won the Pulitzer Prize for his first novel, House Made of Dawn, in 1969. As I
continue on I found out that Momaday has worked as a professor while pursuing writing in many
different genres: he almost accomplished poet, novelist, memoirist, and essayist. Momaday is also an
active painter, and a member of the Kiowa Gourd Dance Society, which carries forward the
ceremonial Kiowa Gourd Dance tradition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparative Analysis Of A Few Good Men
A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men
It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to harm
others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is best for
themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame off
themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example
showing people will cause harm under given command. This not true for everyone, but for most
people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The
instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be i do not want to blamed for
hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would continue to cause
pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men directed by Red Reiner.
Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee and is a lawyer that is

The Effect of a Radiological Dispersion Device
The Effect a Radiological Dispersion Device The abundance of nuclear weapons or radiological
dispersal devices that terrorist groups have is perhaps one of the most terrifying threats to U.S.
security. Radiological dispersal devices (RDD) are also known as dirty bombs. They are made of
radioactive material combined with conventional explosives. They are intended to use explosive
strength to scatter radioactive material over a large area (Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD) /
Dirty Bombs, 2009). Around the world, there are a lot of sources of radioactive material that are not
sheltered or not accounted for. Dishonest nations and terrorist groups can get hold of these materials
for dirty bombs. These volatile weapons may primarily kill a few people in the direct area of the blast
but are utilized primarily to create psychological rather than physical damage by stirring up panic and
terror. Their utilization would also consequence in expensive cleanup for decontamination
(Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD) / Dirty Bombs, 2009). Typically, an RDD would be utilized to
inflict psychological effects, rather than to achieve a military or strategic goal. A military use might be
area denial, where an RDD is employed to contaminate an area to dissuade an enemy force from
occupying that area. The psychological effects like expectation, terror, over reaction and training costs
are much more effective than actual use, therefore the appeal to terrorist groups in conjunction with

Essay on The Duality of the American Dream in Amy Tan’s...
For millions of immigrants, America has been seen as the land of opportunity where anyone could
become anything he or she wanted to be. A family that believes strongly in the American dream can be
found in Amy Tan s short story, Two Kinds. The story centers around the daughter of a Chinese
immigrant who desperately wants her daughter to become successful. In the story, the author shows
the difficult lives immigrants face when moving to a new culture. In this short story, the theme shows
the protagonist s conflict with her mother on the type of daughter her mother wants her to be. The
author establishes the theme of how difficult mother daughter relationships can be through
characterization, setting, and symbolism. Primarily, Tan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The angry tone in the beginning leads to tension, but ends on a softer note once Jing mei is older and
learns to be more sympathetic. The setting of the story helps the theme become more realistic. In
addition to setting, the author uses symbols to strengthen the theme of the story. In the story, the
mother buys Jing mei a piano on which to practice. The mother and Jing mei have different
perspectives on what this symbol means. To Jing mei, the piano symbolizes her mother trying to
change her into something other than herself; however, the piano symbolizes the American dream to
her mother. Eventually as Jing mei ages, she could see her mother s idea on what the piano means and
learns to appreciate the piano. When Jing mei is a woman, [she] realized that [ Pleading Child and
Perfectly Contended ] were two halves of the same song (Tan 9). As Critic Cynthia Becerra states, the
self realization completes this rich vignette, it is not without pain and loss.(Becerra) This realization
shows how she learns that her mother only has high aspirations for her. The symbolical piano helps
the theme by showing the contrasting views between the mother and the daughter in their relationship.
Furthermore, Amy Tan writes a wonderful short story about the complicated relationship between
mothers and daughters, yet one can be enriching. The theme of Two

Essay On The Color Purple
The Color Purple written by Alice Walker is based on a society that is rather segregated when it comes
to their differences. Due to this segregation, the perspective of one group viewing another may be
rather skewed, causing them to be stereotyped into certain social structures. The novel is written in
first person point of view, meaning that the reader gets one particular character s version of the story.
Due to this, the reader is introduced to the story through a perspective that does not fully understand
different social groups aside from her own in society as well as different societies as a mass. One of
the most prominent examples of social groups being represented in a certain way relates to the roles of
women in society. Throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This includes the stereotypical white women in church that believe they are better than those around
them and are judgemental of those who aren t like them. However, there are also characters such as
Shug and Celie that believe in a different type of god. While the white women most likely believe in
god, the man, Shug and Celie end up believing in god, the force. Christians are typically portrayed as
individuals similar to the white women, however the novel tends to break that barrier when Shug
explains her beliefs to Celie through the quote Here s the thing, say Shug. The thing I believe. God is
inside you and inside everybody else. You come into the world with God. But only them that search
for it inside find it. And sometimes it just manifest itself even if you not looking, or don t know what

The Theories Of Personality Theories

Prof. Christina Gonzalez
Many psychologists have formed important theories regarding personality. Some of these theories are
still relevant to our world today. These theories have helped form humans and they have also changed
the way we think and the way we do things. There are many different forms of personality theories
that have shaped the world for us: Biological, Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Humanist, Trait, etc.
Biological theories are based on genetics and they believe that genetics are responsible for personality.
Behavioral theories suggest that personality is the reason for interaction between others.
Psychodynamic theories are mostly based on the works of Sigmund Freud. These theories state that
the unconscious mind and childhood has effects in personality. Humanist theories believe that the
ability to be free and have experience on one s own effects personality. The final personality theory it
the Traits theories. This theory states that personality is passed along by traits. The many personality
theories still may not be just enough information for us to understand why everyone has a different
personality, but the theories do help us to have a broader understanding of it. Famous psychologists
such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Rogers, Carl Jung, etc are responsible for making these theories
understandable. They are great thinkers who have proposed many intelligent theories and reasons for
personality. Some of these theories are still

Charles Chesnutt The Conjure Woman
Superstitions and Folklore in Charles W. Chesnutt s The Conjure Woman Charles Waddell Chesnutt is
an African American writer who writes many novels and short stories about African American
superstitions and folklore of the south in The Conjure Woman. The Conjure Woman is a collection of
folktales that explore complex issues of racial and social identity in the post Civil War. Chesnutt
writes these stories in vernacular forms to represent the oral act of storytelling and express Chesnutt s
black identity and cultural heritage of African American people. Chesnutt s folktales show how whites
treat African American people as second class citizens. Chesnutt also uses African American folklore
to celebrate his black identity throughout telling these stories. Chesnutt s The Conjure Woman
represents African American traditions through telling stories about superstitions and folklore of the
south and displays Uncle Julius s purposes of telling conjure tales. The Conjure Woman is collected
seven conjure stories that talk about magic works and superstitions. Uncle Julius is an ex slave who is
the narrator of the conjure tales. Uncle Julius narrates tales of antebellum plantation life in order ...

Julius s storytelling, like Chesnutt s art more generally, is the self conscious product of just such a

The Effect Of Peroxidase Production On Stressed Plants Essay
This experiment used beets to determine peroxidase production in stressed plants. The purpose of this
experiment was to test if the stressed plant would produce more peroxidase in a higher concentration
than the control plant. The stressor for this experiment was watering with salt water. This stressor was
chosen because it is a natural stressor to plants; especially along the coasts and where roads are salted
in winter such as the Midwest. The control plant was watered with plain tap water while the
experimental plant was watered with tap water plus salt. The salt water concentration was 1.2341
molar. After the two week stress period the stressed plant was much smaller, wilted, and shriveled
compared to the control plant. It also had less water content overall, which made the extraction
process somewhat more challenging. To test the peroxidase production in the plants several methods
were used, including: tissue printing, DOT blot assay, electrophoretic analysis, and a
spectrophotometric assay. It was concluded that the stressed plant did produce more peroxidase than
the control plant and in a higher concentration.
Peroxidase Production in Beets Stressed with Salt Water
There are many types of peroxidases found in plants, animals, and microorganisms. The plant
peroxidase that was studied in this lab is the class III plant peroxidase (POX) (Hiraga, Sasaki, Ito,

Hewlett Packard faces intense competition in all its business segments in terms of price, quality,
brand, technology, reputation, distribution, range of products etc. The company faces stiff competition
in the PC market. The company has become the market leader in the PC segment in the third and
fourth quarter of 2006, relegating Dell to the second position. With Michael Dell returning as Chief
Executive Officer, Dell is likely to come back strongly and make a fierce bid for market leadership.
Other significant competitors in the PC market include Acer, Apple Computer, Gateway, Lenovo
Group and Toshiba Corporation. Moreover, Acer s acquisition of Gateways has made it the third
largest PCs supplier in the world. In some regions, the company faces competition from local
companies and from generically branded or white box manufacturers. The company s competitors in
enterprise servers and storage include broad solutions providers such as IBM, focused competitors
such as EMC Corporation in storage, Dell in industry standard servers and Sun Microsystems in
UNIX based servers. The imaging and printing group s key competitors include Canon USA, Lexmark
International, Xerox Corporation, Seiko Epson Corporation, Samsung Electronics and Dell. Hewlett

Leadership in Remember the Titans Essay
Remember the Titans
In the movie Remember the Titans , there are many management concepts covered throughout the
movie and he is the agent in the movie. The players on the Titans are the targets of the influence.
Remember the Titans is the perfect movie for Exam 3. It covers many topics that were on the exam,
and this class has given me a different way of looking at the movie. I have seen the movie many times,
but I never looked at it from a management perspective. It now makes sense to me to look at a football
team, or any other type of sports team, from a management point of view.
Coach Herman Boone, who is played by Denzel Washington, is a very influential person. He is a
perfect leader. While it cannot be found out for sure, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their opponents do not score against them often in the movie.
In the movie, Coach Boone is a master motivator. He does an excellent job of energizing his players,
sustaining the motivation, directing the motivation to the right players at the right time, and also
knowing when to stop motivating. The satisfaction progression hypothesis is also displayed in the
movie. Coach Boone knows that the small things, such as making the routine plays in the game, must
be done first before the main goal can be achieved, winning the game. He also has a high expectancy
of his team. He believes that the effort of his team will lead to performance and that the performance
will lead to results. He expects his team to practice just as hard as they play in the game. Julius
Campbell and Gary Bertier, the two main characters on the team, are also excellent motivators. They
get their teammates pumped up before and during the game.
As with most sports teams, the Titans have an autocratic leadership style. Coach Boone is the one and
only person who makes the decisions, he is the main man in charge. The style is productive, and the
team wins games. Although he has assistant coaches, such as Bill Yoast who is the defensive
coordinator, all the decisions must go through Coach Boone first. The democratic leadership style is
not applicable on a football team because that s why teams have coaches. The team does not make
group decisions. Coach Boone also uses Job Enlargement in Remember the

President Abraham Lincoln, An Innovator And The Only...
Encourage Innovation President Abraham Lincoln once advised George McClellan, if we never try,
we shall never succeed (Phillips, 1992). Lincoln was an innovator and the only American president to
hold a patent. He constantly pushed his generals during the Civil War to move the war effort forward
and he considered mistakes to be learning events, or steps in the right direction (Phillips, 1992). In
addition to encouraging his generals, Lincoln personally sought out new weapons such as repeating
rifles and other equipment. Lincoln s desire for an advancing and innovative army was critical to the
survival of the union. In my professional career, I find myself frequently asking my subordinates can
we do better? Typically, when I ask that question, I have already answered it my own head, yes.
However, at times, I get asked that same question by my boss, and become annoyed. I quickly come to
the realization that the answer to his question is also a yes, and I somehow missed it. Like Lincoln, I
am reminded that the best leaders never stop learning and if we never try, we will never succeed.
Learning is a critical part of innovation. I am blessed to work for a supervisor who has many great
leadership characteristics. I consider Chief Michael Haworth a mentor who has instilled many of the
same characteristics in me over the years. Assistant Chief Michael Haworth has secured the support

The Importance Of Beauty In Popular Culture
Question? How do you define yourself as an individual? Through your style, through your mind,
through the way that you curl your tongue or even toes? We all have a unique way about who we are
and how we carry about ourselves, and it can t simply be defined through the manikins that you see in
stores or with the false reality that many media corporations have shown to their audience through
poster ads, TV commercial, and products they sell, sets a barrier between the reality and fantasy of
beauty standards. Sadly, with programs like Photoshop and SkinneePix, the media helps create the
illusion that corporations want their audience to see. These television, magazines, newspapers, and
billboard advertisements that different corporations create, are not the only thing that influences
standards of beauty in popular culture. But, when shopping online, many companies only put the
products that they want to sell and give the consumers the freedom and the right to choose whatever
product that they want without the judgment others and/or an advertisement, which is why buying
online is personally called my safe place!
Popular culture places a large amount of emphasis on the ideal model look. Which consist of a slender
build, perfect hair style, a certain style of makeup, and always dressed in the latest style of fashion.

Federal Budget Definition
The Federal Budget What exactly establishes the federal budget? Just as it takes money to run a
household, it takes money to run the government. Like people, the government also makes choices
about how to spend its money. Each year, the President and Congress have an official back and forth
process of deciding what next year s budget should be. All the government agencies and departments
submit a budget request explaining how much money is a necessity. The president makes a list of his
own spending priorities, and so does the Congress. They debate, consult, and finally compromise to
form a budget that says how much money each entitlement program will receive. When it comes to the
federal budget, there are different aspects that are affected;

Berlin Wall Symbolism
The Soviet Union in conjunction with East German authorities started constructing the Berlin Wall in
1961. This wall separated East and West Berlin. East Germany, desiring to prove to the world that
Marxism and communism were viable systems for running a country, decided to keep its citizens from
fleeing to the West,. The Wall failed to accomplish this, and fell on November 9, 1989. This was a key
moment that marked the end of the Cold War. While the Wall was still up, many problems persisted
between the eastern and western parts of Germany. In many ways, East and West Germany were polar
opposites. The Berlin Wall was symbolic of the political, economic, and ideological divisions that
existed between East and West Germany.
The Berlin Wall symbolized the political differences between East and West Germany. East Germany
was ruled by Marxism, while West Germany was a free democratic state. Many East Germans were
not fond of their circumstances, and as a result, they fled to West Germany. Around 2.7 million East
Germans fled to the West ( The construction of the Berlin Wall ). The East was on the brink of social
collapse because of this. East Germans were oppressed, while West Germans had many rights. A
picture from German Missions in the United States shows a peaceful protest against the construction
of the Wall ( Images of the Berlin Wall 4). Three little boys hold a sign which translates to freedom in
English. This picture exemplifies how many East Germans disapproved of the construction of the
Berlin Wall, and wanted to be one with West Germany. The Berlin Wall represented the contrast in
politics between the two German states. Secondly, the Berlin Wall demonstrated the economic
differences between East and West Germany. East Germany was ruled by communist. West Germany
was capitalist. West Germans had many freedoms economically, such as private individuals being in
control of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth, and owning private property. In East
Germany, all means of production were state owned. People leaving the GDR caused increasing
difficulties for the ruling communist party ( The construction of the Berlin Wall ). The millions of
people who fled the East almost led to its

Is Photography A Game Of Inventing Meanings
John Berger once said, One can play a game of inventing meanings. He was conveying the idea that
when one person interprets a photograph to have a particular meaning, the same picture might have a
varying level of significance to another person. In our culture today photographs take on many roles,
both traditional and new. They are used to tell a story and are a port into a particular moment.
Photography allows us to see past initial perceptions and make connections to our everyday lives. All
photography is subjective to different views and therefore contains a set of diverse meanings. In recent
years photography has taken on a more significant role compared to past generations; it can be used to
express these diverse views, and connect people from all different cultures and backgrounds. We take
pictures of many distinct and sometimes trivial moments that have a powerful meaning to us, and that
meaning can now be shared with the world. ¨ And in life, meaning is not instantaneous. Meaning is
discovered in what connects, and cannot exist without development¨(Berger). Photography is all about
connections. The picture is captured, and then shared with others, the meaning behind it may not be
apparent right away, but gradually it comes to light the longer the image is studied and developed.
Today we take photographs to connect us with specific people in specific places at specific times.
When we first view a photograph we have an initial reaction and the picture will have a

Educated Mexican By Rick P. Rivera Summary
To understand who you are, you have to first understand your origin of where you are from. In the
story, A Fabricated Mexican, by Rick P. Rivera, it is about a young boy named Ricky Coronado. His
mom is a very strong willed and encouraging mother, and he lost his father when he was still young.
So without a father figure there to help him through life he is questioning himself about his life.
Which probably lead to why he is so pessimistic and negative.
Without a father image to help you and support you, it will be hard to understand what some things are
in life. For example, when Ricky s mom is telling him how come he isn t like other boys, The fuse had
finally burned down to ignite a cache of collective feelings and confused memories. Because they
have real fathers! I exploded. And everybody in their family is the same age. They stick together!
(Rivera 26). Without a father Ricky wasn t as good as others and doesn t have a good relationship with

Sexualized In Public
Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need to
consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can personally
exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m still unable to
join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge; having a C cup bra
size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average size breast I do regulate and
more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall agreeing to be sexualized before I
was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a patriarchal modern day society. I think that
breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though being bare breasted in public is something that I
have yet to experience or actually do in my life; I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of
activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free
from those annoying straps, yet it also brings forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same
time. Is liberating your breast really worth it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. Yes, the time
has passed since Bartky was written her article, yet sanctions and violence are still prominent in our

  • 3. Snap Traps What are some ways to kill a wild animal in the yard? Realistically probably the only way it would be considered humane to kill a wild animal that was in your yard would be to capture it alive and euthanize it using the CO2 method. This method is pretty simple you get a bag large enough to put cage in and seal up and the smaller container in which you put vinegar and baking soda, when you mix these two they produce CO2, once the concentration of CO2 in the bag reaches over 30% the animal will pass out and then soon afterwards it will die. Using that method means of course that you first have to catch the animal alive and a lot of people really have no skills in that area and when they usually try to catch an animal they fail. There are a heap of other methods that people use to kill animals that are causing them problems, most of these revolve around lethal traps, the main two types being snap traps which are the ones you mainly use to kill rats, mice and squirrels, as you can see these are all small animals and that is what the basic snap trap you buy from the hardware store is good for. The Most Iconic Figures Of The 20th Century Dictionary.com defines the word Icon as a person or thing that is revered or idolized , that sums up John Lennon pretty well; he was an icon in many different ways. He was a musician, an activist, and a legend. Born on October 9th, 1940 in Liverpool Maternity Hospital in Liverpool, England, John Lennon was born, and so began what would become a journey that would lead to Lennon becoming one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century. His Father was often away, but he continued to support Lennon and his Mother with regular checks, until his Father stopped in 1944, and he wouldn t return until six months later, where after many heated debates, Lennon s Father forced him to choose between his Mother or him, at the age of 5, and after choosing his Father twice, saw his Mother begin to walk away and at that moment decided to choose her instead. John Lennon wouldn t see his Father again until he was 25. Despite what happened with his parents, he would live the rest of childhood with his Aunt and Uncle. When questioned about his upbringing, Lennon said Part of me would like to be accepted by all facets of society and not be this loudmouthed lunatic poet/musician. But I cannot be what I am not ... I was the one who all the other boys parents including Paul s father would say, Keep away from him ... The parents instinctively recognised I was a troublemaker, meaning I did not conform and I would influence their children, which I did. I did my best to disrupt every friend ... It makes possible a more contemporary perspective of the women s role in today s world. No wonder then that the Shi a approach to women s rights is evolving . Hassan Farhang Ansari brilliantly discusses in his article, The Shiite Interpretation of the Status of Women, that women always had an important role in Shia religion, starting with the Prophet s daughter Fatima who brought an incredible insight into the history of the Islam and was the fiercest defender of Ali s right to succession. Also Zeynab, who was always at the side of Husayn in Kerbala and who later on took over the duty to protect her family and her brother, the next Imam, to assure the transmission of the political and religious message of the Islamic movement. They began to sail north to Alta California and established 21 missions. The expedition to Alta California was the last greatest expansion of Spain s empire in North America. The missions were a series of religious and military settlements established by the padre. The Spanish constructed the missions to gain control and power over the land in California. San Francisco Solano Mission was the last mission established in Sonoma, the Valley of the Moon, resulted an important historical event in California and the existence of the California flag. The Spanish arrival to California created a major impact to the lives of the native Indians, and there were many significant events occurred among the Spaniards, the native Indians, and the Americans before California became a part of America. San Francisco Solano Mission was founded on July 4th, 1823 by Fr. Jose Altamira, Father Altamira, which was the last mission in California. The mission got its name from St. Francis Solano, missionary to the Peruvian Indians (Simondi). After the arrival of Father Altamira, he decided to create a new mission north of San Francisco Bay. China Missile Of The South China Sea China deploying missiles in the South China Sea Since September 2015, China has begun to increase the arming of the islands in the South China Sea on the islands that China claims belongs to them. The claiming of the Paracel Islands and the Spratly Islands by China are creating panic for its neighbors, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Because, China is ignoring the claims the nations have on the Islands in the South China Sea. Most recently, China has made a political decision to deploy missiles on Woody Island in the South China Sea, an island that is very close to the Philippines and Taiwan. China claims that the island belongs only to China and no one else, but there are Vietnamese, Philippine, and Taiwanese claims on the islands in the South China Sea as well that China is ignoring that is creating unrest in the South China Sea. China s claim on the islands in the South China Sea for themselves and the creation of artificial islands are very important to me because China is violating international law and the claims of other nations. As a result of this, if China was to disregard the claims that Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Philippines have on the Paracel chain islands in the South China Sea then a war might take place between China and the allies of the U.S. such as, Taiwan and the Philippines. If war was to break out between China and the allies of the U.S. it is very likely that the U.S. will send forces to assist its allies in war. Because I am eighteen ... • 14. Comparative Analysis Of A Few Good Men A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to harm others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is best for themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame off themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example showing people will cause harm under given command. This not true for everyone, but for most people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be i do not want to blamed for hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would continue to cause pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men directed by Red Reiner. Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee and is a lawyer that is defending the marines in a murder case, Jack Nicholson who played Col. Nathan R. The Effect of a Radiological Dispersion Device The Effect a Radiological Dispersion Device The abundance of nuclear weapons or radiological dispersal devices that terrorist groups have is perhaps one of the most terrifying threats to U.S. security. Radiological dispersal devices (RDD) are also known as dirty bombs. They are made of radioactive material combined with conventional explosives. They are intended to use explosive strength to scatter radioactive material over a large area (Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD) / Dirty Bombs, 2009). Around the world, there are a lot of sources of radioactive material that are not sheltered or not accounted for. Dishonest nations and terrorist groups can get hold of these materials for dirty bombs. These volatile weapons may primarily kill a few people in the direct area of the blast but are utilized primarily to create psychological rather than physical damage by stirring up panic and terror. Their utilization would also consequence in expensive cleanup for decontamination (Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD) / Dirty Bombs, 2009). Typically, an RDD would be utilized to inflict psychological effects, rather than to achieve a military or strategic goal. A military use might be area denial, where an RDD is employed to contaminate an area to dissuade an enemy force from occupying that area. The angry tone in the beginning leads to tension, but ends on a softer note once Jing mei is older and learns to be more sympathetic. The setting of the story helps the theme become more realistic. In addition to setting, the author uses symbols to strengthen the theme of the story. In the story, the mother buys Jing mei a piano on which to practice. The mother and Jing mei have different perspectives on what this symbol means. To Jing mei, the piano symbolizes her mother trying to change her into something other than herself; however, the piano symbolizes the American dream to her mother. Eventually as Jing mei ages, she could see her mother s idea on what the piano means and learns to appreciate the piano. When Jing mei is a woman, [she] realized that [ Pleading Child and Perfectly Contended ] were two halves of the same song (Tan 9). As Critic Cynthia Becerra states, the self realization completes this rich vignette, it is not without pain and loss.(Becerra) This realization shows how she learns that her mother only has high aspirations for her. The stressor for this experiment was watering with salt water. This stressor was chosen because it is a natural stressor to plants; especially along the coasts and where roads are salted in winter such as the Midwest. The control plant was watered with plain tap water while the experimental plant was watered with tap water plus salt. The salt water concentration was 1.2341 molar. After the two week stress period the stressed plant was much smaller, wilted, and shriveled compared to the control plant. Lincoln was an innovator and the only American president to hold a patent. He constantly pushed his generals during the Civil War to move the war effort forward and he considered mistakes to be learning events, or steps in the right direction (Phillips, 1992). In addition to encouraging his generals, Lincoln personally sought out new weapons such as repeating rifles and other equipment. Lincoln s desire for an advancing and innovative army was critical to the survival of the union. In my professional career, I find myself frequently asking my subordinates can we do better? Typically, when I ask that question, I have already answered it my own head, yes. However, at times, I get asked that same question by my boss, and become annoyed. I quickly come to the realization that the answer to his question is also a yes, and I somehow missed it. • 30. The Importance Of Beauty In Popular Culture Question? How do you define yourself as an individual? Through your style, through your mind, through the way that you curl your tongue or even toes? We all have a unique way about who we are and how we carry about ourselves, and it can t simply be defined through the manikins that you see in stores or with the false reality that many media corporations have shown to their audience through poster ads, TV commercial, and products they sell, sets a barrier between the reality and fantasy of beauty standards. Sadly, with programs like Photoshop and SkinneePix, the media helps create the illusion that corporations want their audience to see. These television, magazines, newspapers, and billboard advertisements that different corporations create, are not the only thing that influences standards of beauty in popular culture. But, when shopping online, many companies only put the products that they want to sell and give the consumers the freedom and the right to choose whatever product that they want without the judgment others and/or an advertisement, which is why buying online is personally called my safe place! • 31. Federal Budget Definition The Federal Budget What exactly establishes the federal budget? Just as it takes money to run a household, it takes money to run the government. Like people, the government also makes choices about how to spend its money. Each year, the President and Congress have an official back and forth process of deciding what next year s budget should be. All the government agencies and departments submit a budget request explaining how much money is a necessity. The president makes a list of his own spending priorities, and so does the Congress. They debate, consult, and finally compromise to form a budget that says how much money each entitlement program will receive. • 32. Berlin Wall Symbolism The Soviet Union in conjunction with East German authorities started constructing the Berlin Wall in 1961. This wall separated East and West Berlin. East Germany, desiring to prove to the world that Marxism and communism were viable systems for running a country, decided to keep its citizens from fleeing to the West,. The Wall failed to accomplish this, and fell on November 9, 1989. This was a key moment that marked the end of the Cold War. While the Wall was still up, many problems persisted between the eastern and western parts of Germany. In many ways, East and West Germany were polar opposites. The Berlin Wall was symbolic of the political, economic, and ideological divisions that existed between East and West Germany. The Berlin Wall symbolized the political differences between East and West Germany. East Germany was ruled by Marxism, while West Germany was a free democratic state. Many East Germans were not fond of their circumstances, and as a result, they fled to West Germany. Around 2.7 million East Germans fled to the West ( The construction of the Berlin Wall ). The East was on the brink of social collapse because of this. East Germans were oppressed, while West Germans had many rights. A picture from German Missions in the United States shows a peaceful protest against the construction of the Wall ( Images of the Berlin Wall 4). Three little boys hold a sign which translates to freedom in English. This picture exemplifies how many East Germans disapproved of the construction of the Berlin Wall, and wanted to be one with West Germany. The Berlin Wall represented the contrast in politics between the two German states. Secondly, the Berlin Wall demonstrated the economic differences between East and West Germany. East Germany was ruled by communist. West Germany was capitalist. West Germans had many freedoms economically, such as private individuals being in control of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth, and owning private property. In East Germany, all means of production were state owned. People leaving the GDR caused increasing difficulties for the ruling communist party ( The construction of the Berlin Wall ). • 33. Is Photography A Game Of Inventing Meanings John Berger once said, One can play a game of inventing meanings. He was conveying the idea that when one person interprets a photograph to have a particular meaning, the same picture might have a varying level of significance to another person. In our culture today photographs take on many roles, both traditional and new. They are used to tell a story and are a port into a particular moment. Photography allows us to see past initial perceptions and make connections to our everyday lives. All photography is subjective to different views and therefore contains a set of diverse meanings. In recent years photography has taken on a more significant role compared to past generations; it can be used to express these diverse views, and connect people from all different cultures and backgrounds. We take pictures of many distinct and sometimes trivial moments that have a powerful meaning to us, and that meaning can now be shared with the world. ¨ And in life, meaning is not instantaneous. Meaning is discovered in what connects, and cannot exist without development¨(Berger). Photography is all about connections. The picture is captured, and then shared with others, the meaning behind it may not be apparent right away, but gradually it comes to light the longer the image is studied and developed. Today we take photographs to connect us with specific people in specific places at specific times. When we first view a photograph we have an initial reaction and the picture will have a ... • 34. Educated Mexican By Rick P. Rivera Summary To understand who you are, you have to first understand your origin of where you are from. In the story, A Fabricated Mexican, by Rick P. Rivera, it is about a young boy named Ricky Coronado. His mom is a very strong willed and encouraging mother, and he lost his father when he was still young. So without a father figure there to help him through life he is questioning himself about his life. Which probably lead to why he is so pessimistic and negative. Without a father image to help you and support you, it will be hard to understand what some things are in life. For example, when Ricky s mom is telling him how come he isn t like other boys, The fuse had finally burned down to ignite a cache of collective feelings and confused memories. Because they have real fathers! I exploded. And everybody in their family is the same age. They stick together! (Rivera 26). • 35. Sexualized In Public Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need to consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can personally exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m still unable to join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge; having a C cup bra size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average size breast I do regulate and more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall agreeing to be sexualized before I was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a patriarchal modern day society. I think that breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though being bare breasted in public is something that I have yet to experience or actually do in my life; I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free from those annoying straps, yet it also brings forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same time. Is liberating your breast really worth it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. Yes, the time has passed since Bartky was written her article, yet sanctions and violence are still prominent in our modern society.
