Personification In Duchess On The Wall
not Fra Pandolf himself. Additionally, personification is used as paintings are not supposed to stand.
The Duke dehumanizes Fra Pandolf. This means that he would essentially a tool instead of a person.
Throughout the poem, the Duke can be seen as he constantly boasts about the duchess. The Duke tells
the painter that when other guests arrive at his palace, they would ask me, if they durst, . The
embedded clause and conversational tone reinstates his status and power and that the poem is set in a
patriarchal society where the Duke dominates and holds primary power. The Duchess on the wall was
Too easily impressed; she liked whate er She looked on, and her looks went everywhere . The verb
phrase, too easily impressed implies that the narrative persona is bitter and was hyperbolic at the same
time. Nevertheless, the noun, whate er also states that the narrative persona has a tyrannical nature. ...

The Duke instructs the painter, Will t please you rise? We ll meet the company below. The
interrogative sentence, Will t please you rise? shows that he has authority over everyone in his palace.
Thus, the proposition, The company below suggests that he thinks he is above everyone with his
power. The painter can be seen as he is scared of the duke. The Duke responds as he tells the painter,
Notice Neptune, though, taming a sea horse, thought a rarity. The comparison phrase, Notice Neptune
suggests that the Duke sees himself as he is similar to a God. The parenthesis also slows down the
pace of the poem and finally, the noun phrase, thought a rarity shows the Duke s misogynistic and
patriarchal figure along with his materialistic nature can be seen as the one controlling other

The Importance Of Growing Up In A Polish Language
Growing up, in a Polish household was very difficult for me since I was the only one out of my
siblings who did not have a clue about our language. My parents were both born and raised in Poland,
so in our household my parents would communicate to us in Polish. My mother is fluent in both polish
and English, but my father is only fluent in Polish, his English is pretty broken. The years went by and
it was growing more complex to communicate with my father, since he is only fluent in polish and I
only knew how to communicate in English. So my parents came to an agreement that polish school
would provide me with a long lasting impact. My parents always emphasized the importance of a
second language, which is very valuable when you are older. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Whilst, I was scanning the class and perceived how fluent, all of my peers were, it had made me even
more uneasy. I always questioned myself, was I ever going to learn Polish.
The thought, of not being able to learn polish was very frightening to me. Once, I was introduced to
the material, I began to progress. With the help of my parents and teachers, I was starting to master the
simple rules of enhancing my fluency in writing, reading and speaking in Polish. Slowly, but surely I
was gaining the confidence in my polish, my parents, would review with me on a daily basis after
school. I attended, Polish school until it was flowing for me, which took me about four years to
complete. At, such a young age, I began, to become more reluctant taking in at Polish school. After all,
I was going to school Mondays through Fridays, was enrolled in catholic school and the thought of
taking on another subject especially on Saturdays was very exasperating. Overall, I was eager to learn,
nevertheless going to school seven days a week sounded a bit absurd! However, the conclusion of
going to polish school was very rewarding, mainly now that I can fully read, write and speak Polish. I
am very fortunate that

The Prevalence Of Diabetes Mellitus
The prevalence of diabetes mellitus, type 2 (DM II) is grossly affecting people worldwide. 24 million
individuals in the United States were diagnosed with DM II in 2011 (Hunt, C. W., Grant, J. S., Appel,
S. J., 2011). 109.6 million DM II cases were reported in China in 2015, with an expected 36% increase
by 2040 (Browning, C., Chapman, A., Yang, H., Liu, S., Zhang, T., Enticott, J. C., Thomas, S. A.,
2016). The incidence of DM II is also expected to increase by 190% in Omani people over the next 20
years (D Souza, M. S., Karkada, S. N., Venkatesaperumal R., Natarajan J., 2015). DM II is a
cumbersome and chronic disease that requires meticulous self care management. Efficient self care
behaviors are necessary to improve quality of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) Sociocultural disparities with DM II management
results in abridged growth and development, comorbidities, and premature mortality. CHWs are strong
advocates dedicated to improving community health and wellness in vulnerable populations. A
hopeful intervention to help diabetic patients improve their health and quality of life is to promote the
concept of employing community health workers (CHWs) (Van der Wees, P., et al., 2014). CHWs are
an integral part of diabetes management, as they help to augment clinical practice and address many
dimensions of a person s life. The role and responsibility of CHWs is to communicate culturally
sensitive and appropriate education, promote individualized self efficacy using self care themes, guide
behavioral modifications, and provide patient care and social support (Hunt, C. W., et al., 2011). Black
and African Americans, Latinos, and Asians are vulnerable populations for developing DM II (Van der
Wees, P., et al., 2014). These particular groups have unique susceptibility risks requiring continuing
education and multi level prevention. However, based on research studies, these populations do not
receive optimal care due to racial and ethnic barriers (Van der Wees, P., et al., 2014). Language deficits
and treatment ambivalence due to a lack of trust are examples of cultural obstacles that influences the
delivery of care and is counterproductive to patient outcomes (Van der

Why Do Sub-Saharan African Countries Fail
4. In general, the reason of high levels of poverty in Sub Saharan according to Jeffrey Sachs is that
unlike countries in Asia, African countries failed to get onto the ladder of development which means
exporting manufactures and services in world markets, and linked to the world in the networks of
production, trade, finance, and technology. There are two main reasons why Sub Saharan African
countries fail to get into globalization. Firstly, the corruption and mismanagement of its leaders.
Corruption is probably the most understandable reason for lack of development in this region. Take
Zimbabwe for example, Zimbabwe is considered one of the most corrupt nations in the world, ranking
163rd out of 176 countries on the latest Transparency International

Mem Company, Inc.
CASE SUMMARY (PROBLEM STATEMENT) After sluggish sales growth in 1980, MEM
Company, Inc. was considering ways to increase sales for the company s line of men s toiletries. Two
main options surfaced; either 1) to expand distribution into food stores or 2) to introduce a new line
called Cambridge. MARKET OVERVIEW The men s toiletries market was divided into three groups
based on pricing, namely, exclusive, medium and mass priced category. MEM had competed primarily
in the medium priced market. Its principal toiletries were marketed under the English Leather line of
which generated 68.3% of total sales revenue. This was substantially more than any other line it
owned and it also had a market share only second to its main competitor, ... Show more content on

Initial 5 forces conclusions seem to hinge on a lack of competitive advantage to launch Cambridge in
the short run. RECOMMENDATIONS After a SWOT and 5 forces analysis, we would recommend
that MEM: 1. Delay the initial launch of Cambridge and in the meantime do the following: 2. Divert
energies and resources to expansion into food stores 3. Try to advance and maybe extend the product
life cycle of Racquet Club and Musk to a more mature stage 4. Phase out โ€˜dogs โ€“ Lime, Windrift and
Timberline based on BCG 5. Monitor the sales response for Blue Stratos, if negative, launch
Cambridge. The most important reason for delaying Cambridge s launch would be to help MEM avoid
direct competition with Shulton s Blue Stratos, since obviously; people never wear 2 types of colognes
at once given that these 2 lines have the exact same target market. Hence, it would make sense to
adopt a โ€˜wait and see strategy. Secondly, since MEM also has a strong opportunity to expand into
food stores, we feel it would be a more effective use of resources and manpower in this expansion in
the meantime rather than in Cambridge. This expansion into food stores could create greater brand
awareness for the MEM name as well as its other lesser profitable lines besides English Leather.
Furthermore, from our SWOT analysis, we believe the launch of

Solstice Canyon is mesmerizing places were the majestic serenity of nature and history are combined
with the sight and sounds from the environment and the animals that inhabit Solstice. Many people
have been attracted to Solstice Canyon for its gorgeous environment. When visiting the landmark the
bright green leaves you feeling like you re in a tropical rain forest but also leaving you feeling peace
and relaxation. Solstice Canyon is a landmark filled with rich history from the Chumash, to Matthew

Fred Roberts s ambition for obtaining more land in Solstice Canyon reached almost over 1000 acres.
Fred and his wife Florence Roberts hired a famous African America architecture engineer named Paul
R. Williams to design a modern home for them on their family ranch, Solstice Canyon. The material
used for building the home of Roberts family was wood, stone, and brick; which at the time was a
great combination of materials due to the home site of waterfalls, springs and lush vegetation. Fred
Roberts named their newly constructed home from the time Tropical Terrade. Fred insisted that the
architect included an elaborate fire protection system for the home and build using only fire resistant
materials. Before Fred Roberts was able to see his dream home he passed away in1976. Shortly a few
years later the house was destroyed in 1982 by a wildfire that frequently burned through the canyon to
the ocean. The Santa Monica Mountains first opened Solstice Canyons a public park in 1988. This
landmark is now managed by the national park Service and is free to the public with no parking or
entrance fee. It is highly recommended to take plenty of water and comfortable shoes. It is estimated
to takes about three hours to complete the hiking trail and the park is open to the public seven day a
weeks. It is best to arrive early in the morning to Solstice Canyon because parking is limited. There
are several animals one can spot on the trails such as wild

Page 9 Of Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury was published in 1953. This is considered some of this best work.
Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature that book set fire at. In this book, a fireman named Guy Montag has
fallen into the illusion that destroying books is good. Then Montag meets a young girl named Clarisse
who has Montag questioning his judgment. Page 9 in Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is extremely
important to the book. Page 9 is important because it affected the rest of the novel, used many literary
techniques, and this is where Montag began to change. The first reason page 9 is important is that this
page affects what happens in the rest of the novel. On this page Montag expresses his feelings after

books were so important to her, she was willing to die for them. And that she did. After burning the
house Montag goes inside and steals a book. The book he steals is The Bible. Montag wants to

in possession of a book, but beaty never mentions anything about it. Later the fire station gets a call to
set a house on fire. Little do they know it was Montag s house. They also did not realize that it was
Montag s own wife who reported the book. Beatty then asks Montag why he feels the need to have
books. Montag does not answer so Beatty slaps him. Montag who is holding a flamethrower becomes
angry and switches the flamethrower on. He continues to point the flamethrower at Beatty until he has

The Internet And The Dark Web
President Trump is expected to sign into law a decision by Congress to overturn new privacy rules for
Internet Service Providers (ISP). This means that US ISPs will soon no longer need consent from
users to share browsing history with marketers and other third parties. What is the Dark Web? The
Dark web is a part of the commercial internet that is not accessible thru regular internet browser
software (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox). Designed in 1995 by the United States Naval Research
Laboratory of the Office of Naval Research (ONR), United States Navy, the original version of the

What possible applications can a secure, encrypted and untraceable network have? As Danny
Bradbury states in his article The dark web is a secretive, anonymous place where shadowy users
access hidden services. It can be used for good or bad . A pretty good example of how this type of
technology could be used in a perverse or wrongful way, are the many black market websites that are
available throughout the environment. This type of markets emerged around the year 2003 and by
2013 it was already generating sales up to 180 million dollars per year, with over 35 vendors
exceeding over 1 million dollars of sales on illegal products. One of the most popular market names
was Silk Road, during the year of 2012 this market averaged weekly sales of approximately 475
thousand dollars. This site provided sales for many illegal items and services, that include but were
not limited to stolen accounts for sale, money laundering services, malware trade, passports and
citizenships for sale, leaked details: government, law enforcement, and celebrities, and assassination
services. The first Silk Road site was taken down in Oct 2013 by the FBI, and its creator (Ross
William Ulbricht) placed in jail, but not before he made a fortune. Not even two months after the site
was taken down Silk Road 2.0 emerged, providing the same type of services hosted by the original
site. Up to this date, the authorities does not have a way to

The Changes in the Way People Learn
Over time the way people learn, obtain and remember information has drastically changed and will
most likely continue to change. I will explore several of the changes from print technology, to
recording technology to computers and cellphones. Many years ago very few people knew how to
read, it was not until printing technology was improved that everyone began to learn to read. Before
printing began all books were printed by hand by specially skilled people and it took several months to
finish just one book causing them to be very rare and expensive so that only the wealthiest people
could afford them (Bernstein 109). After Gutenberg invented his printing press which had replaceable
movable letters used like stamps causing more books to be printed at a time (Bellis). The number of
books available greatly rose causing the price of the books to decrease drastically so that even the
poorest people could afford them. With this change many people were able to learn how to read. With
this new found knowledge the way we learned changed, before people had to remember everything
and after printing began to be cheaper people did not have to remember like before they could just
read and write to take notes. Lecture Capture is used to record both video and audio of a class so that
the students who have a legitimate reason for missing class such as a sickness or a school game they
need to be present at can watch and listen at a later time (DeSantis 6). It is a good idea as people

Escape Lane
Escape Lane is an avant garde jazz record by a creative quartet that feels cohesive regardless the
distinct backgrounds and styles of its menbers.
Trumpeter Marquis Hill shows an inclination for groundbreaking sounds, feeling comfortable in
playing over inventive rhythms as he explores fresh musical concepts. In his latest works as a leader,
Hill has been teaming up with altoist Christopher McBride and the quirky drummer Makaya
McCraven, both longtime collaborators.
Creative guitarist Jeff Parker, a member of the indie rock band Tortoise since 1998, loves to electrify
the air around him with chops that aggregate free improvisation, avant jazz, and stylish art rock. As a
sideman, he teamed up with Fred Anderson, Joshua Redman, Brian Blade, and Scott Amendola.

There are many opportunities for individual flights, and Parker, now and then, exhibits a pleasurable
folk jazz disposition to remodel his usually abstract modus operandi. After probing enigmatic paths
one after another under the rhythmic conduction of Fournier, the tune initiates a swinging motion that
serves Hill s motivic efficiency, before decelerating toward a reflective state of limbo.
Introduced by chimes and guitar harmonics, 488 S. Lake Park ekes out poetic drifts declaimed by Hill,
having Florent s bowed bass underneath. Similar meditative tones and ruminations build Une Petetite
Fille Danse Asisse where the trumpeter straddles Coltrane s exultations and Miles cool vibes.
The title Roughed Grooved Surface is sufficiently transparent to let us have an idea about its mood.
Fournier s hyperactive drumming joins the eerie vibes invented by Parker, who also uses
chromaticism and strident, rapid fire strokes to respond to Hill s intercalation of high pitched blows

The Romantic Era was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country in the 18th
century that encompassed placing importance on the beauty of nature, passion of the imagination and
human emotions. The emphasis was on self expression and individual uniqueness whereas, society
should be driven by passionate emotions rather than strict confining rules and rituals. There was a
great interest in the mysteries of life, intuition and the pursuit of divine revelation whereas, the spirit
of God is present in all humans and animals. God made and loves all creatures great and small equally,
therefore, there is not a single creature better or more important than another. Playing God, or

decreed my utter and terrible destruction (23). Victor s consequences or punishment for defying the
laws of nature and creating a monster was to become enslaved by the unnatural man and is forced to
watch his loved ones be murdered one by one, while he remains powerless to stop the horrible events.
The monster passionately seeks revenge against Victor for abandoning him when the world

Persuasive Essay On Bullying
When Will it Stop?
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school each day
because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a
major problem in schools for far too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is
supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the
punishment they deserve, which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should
know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will
get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school.
The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that
they won t be caught and that bullying isn t a huge deal, but it is. Bullying causes students to not go to
school, to feel alone, and to leave their school feeling worthless. If the bully were to be suspended,
he/she would learn quickly that what they are doing is wrong in so many ways. They will realize that
bullying can be the reason they don t get into their dream school or do something they love. On the
other hand, victims of bullying don t come forward and voice that the have been taunted, teased, and
tormented because they don t think the school will help them. 67 percent of students feel that their
school doesn t hear about their bullying and doesn t do anything that will prevent it (Soard). A great
number of bullies in schools go unnoticed because of this which will in turn, make them continue to
do these hurtful things. Punishments that bullies receive are not harsh enough and need to be
reconsidered if we want a change in our lives.
Bullies not getting punished leads more students to get involved in these horrible acts due to peer
pressure. Students feel like they need to bully to be popular or because everyone else does it. They don
t realize that bullying other kids makes you look worse and can drive that student to never come back
to school or do something even worse. If the students who started the bullying were caught and
suspended, less students would continue the bullying. They would see the consequences that a bully
got and

Summary Of Buchi Emecheta s Novel Kehinde
Buchi Emecheta tells of a woman s search for independence in her book Kehinde. The story begins as
Albert and Kehinde Okolo have been living in London for 18 years as a couple. When Albert s sisters
begin pressuring him to return to Nigeria, Kehinde resists the idea as their two children have never
been to Nigeria and plus the fact that she found out that she is pregnant. But because of Albert s
insistence, she decided to get an abortion. Albert then leaves and Kehinde remains behind to sell the
house which was ordered by her husband. Later on, he calls their children also to Nigeria. Kehinde is
lonely at first but manages on her own. Eventually, she begins to feel like a half person without Albert
and so she gives up her job and departs for Nigeria. On her arrival, she is horrified to learn that during
their two year separation, Albert now has a second wife. Kehinde decides to return to England and
establish a life for herself there. Kehinde s troubled relationship to Albert and her children are
paralleled in her recollections of a difficult childhood: Kehinde s twin was stillborn and her mother
died at birth, prompting the family to believe that she had eaten her sister. It s a story that she at first
accepts, but as she becomes her own woman she rejects its superstitious quality. Some of the themes
of the story are Feminism, Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity.
Kehinde relishes the freedom she has as a woman living in Britain, a freedom she knows she would
not have had in Nigeria. Emecheta makes us very aware of this when she writes, Kehinde was aware
that she could talk to her husband less formally than women like her sister. She related to Albert as a
friend, a compatriot, a confidant. (page 6) However, with her son Joshua newly returned from Nigeria
with strong patriarchal values, Kehinde s freedoms as a woman are challenged as Joshua sees the
house as his natural right as a man. However, Kehinde is unwilling to allow her son to dominate her.
She asserts: This is my house. (137) The last few pages of the novel emerge as a power play between
mother and son. In fact the last chapter, where Kehinde and her son fight for dominance over the
house is aptly named The Rebel , as Kehinde

The biggest complication was to ensure the product s efficacy and safety at low cost. Currently, we are

concept involved developing a wearable galvanic skin response meter for sweat level monitoring in

Analysis Of The Poem Zhuang Zhou And The Butterfly
The word Daoism holds little significance to people in some areas of the world; however in China, as
well as several other countries, the word signifies an ancient religion important to the people. Daoism
relates to a set of principles that state the way one should lead their life so that one does not interfere
with the will of nature. During the Tang Era (618 907 A.D.) in China many poets were inspired by the
faiths of not only Daoism but also Confucianism as well as Buddhism. One of these famous poets was
Li Bo; Bo was known for many poems with a prominent one titled Zhuang Zhou and the Butterfly.
The poem depicts three different scenarios that are affiliated with Daoism through their ties in nature
paired with the path one must take through life to show the reader that following the path is essential
in life. In the first four lines of the poem, Zhuang Zhou dreamt that he was a butterfly and when he
awoke the butterfly became him then questioned which was real. Li Bo utilizes the dream versus
reality element to show that dreams can be vividly real while still being completely fictional.
However, applying this to lifelong fulfilled dreams can change one s reality as well as putting them on
the correct path for their life. These lines also show the relationship to Daoism by using the butterfly
that represents nature. Meanwhile the dreams versus reality element present in the first four lines also
appertains to the concept of yin and yang. Yin yang defined in the

The White Working Class That Caused These Problems
Was it really the White working class that caused these problems? Or was it the companies that
outsourced their jobs overseas? The white working class are also known as the hillbillies. They are
people who have gone through a lot of suffering but also have made a lot problems on their own.
While I definitely think that it is up to the former White working class to dig themselves out, I m
unsure that they re the ones responsible for this mess. Loosing their jobs to outsourcing and loosing
their sense of hope has led them to follow Donald Trump s campaign because he sympathizes with
them and promises them economic and social changes. These families have struggled with poverty,
domestic violence, drugs, and unemployment. One of those families was J.D. Vance s family. Vance
grew up in the Rust Belt of Ohio, into a struggling, poor, abusive family. Vance escaped his hardships
by enrolling into the Military and going to school. However, other people weren t as lucky as he was
to get out, other families were still stuck in Hillbilly Middletown. Things were going good for these
families until the 1970s and 1980s came along. This is when things took a toll, industrial jobs were
cut, causing a down ward spiral for everyone in Ohio. This is when the alcoholism, drug use, and
domestic violence became a norm. For about a century, the region seemed to be on a upward spiral.
Middletown s streets today are full of shuttered storefronts and drug dealers, (Rothman,New Yorker).

Exercise and Depression

hormones such as urinary cortisol and epinephrine. The study consisted of two hundred sixty six
volunteers who were students of a nursing school in Thailand. All the individuals went through a
screening test, CES D, which was a self report test in which they would rank common symptoms of
depression to determine if they fall within the range of mild to severe. Forty nine volunteers were

affects depression within a typical population. As well I would split the participants of a future study

exercise intensities, this can help us predict if higher levels of exercise intensity make a bigger
difference or be less beneficial compared to the normal physical exercise program that was conducted
over a 8 week time frame originally. I would continue to keep the control group in order to have it be
used as a comparison. My big question next would be, Are there any other variables that would be as

The View Of The Afterlife Essay
Classical World Influences
Introduction
The aim of my report is to explain how the view of the afterlife in Ancient Greece has shaped works
of art, books and the mentality of people. In order to do this I am going to explore how ancient Greek
people saw the underworld as well as Roman people and the Renaissance period. Because Greeks saw
the underworld as a dark, dreadful and gloomy place, many of the works that refer to it, either in
Roman times or the Renaissance, are influenced by this view. In particular works like the Odyssey by
Homer or The Phaedo by Plato, explained to a certain level the structure of the afterlife in ancient
Greece. These two pieces of literature severely influenced works like the book VI of the Aeneid by
Virgil where he depicts the underworld referencing to the Greek point of view. But a deeper
description of the underworld is given by Dante in his Divine Comedy where he uses Virgil as his
guide, from the depths of hell to the Purgatory while Beatrice, Dante s ideal woman, guides him
through heaven. All these time periods shared the idea of the underworld as being a place where souls
pay the sins they committed during their lives.
Afterlife in Ancient Greece
The afterlife in ancient Greece was Known as Hades. It was a grey world ruled by Hades, the Lord of
the Dead. If they had a virtuous life they could enjoy the sunny pleasures of the Elysium or paradise, if
they had a wicked life, then they fell into the dark pits of Tartarus, while if they

The Factors Of Media, Body Satisfaction, And Gender On...
The factors of media, body satisfaction, and gender on weight biases Crista Benton University of
Tampa INTRO The stigma against obese indivuduals is now global. It happens at the playground,
during job interviews, while applying for graduate school, in court and even at the doctors office. (1 5)
There are already well documented differences between weight bias and gender. Aruguete, Yates and
Edman found that women tend to internalize their anti fat attitudes, meaning they value thinness
within themselves more than others. They become fearful of gaining weight, and tend to have a
stronger desire than men to lose weight. Aruguete s sample of women had desires 3 times higher to
lose weight than the men. Due to the internalization, women tend to be more dissatisfied with their
body and are more likely to engage in risky dietary behaviors. Interalizing antifat attitudes is not
related to the dislike of obease individuals. Men externalize their anti fat attitudes; even overweight
men are more likely than women to have a bias against overweight individuals. Men value thiness in
other people more than they do in themselves. A previous study shows that watching 40 minutes of
The Biggest Loser increases weight bias. The contestants on the program showed deciation and hard
work which contributed to the idea the weight is contorollable which leads to a higher fat bias. When
they measured the fat biases, they found that overweight participants displayed a

`` The Custom House `` By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Journal Entry 1: The Custom House Romanticism is the movement in literature that emphasizes
inspiration, selfhood, and the authority of the individual. The purpose of The Custom House is that it
provides the framework for the main idea of The Scarlet Letter and it also describes Hawthorne s life.
The narrator, who shares similar traits with Nathaniel Hawthorne, takes a post as the chief executive
officer, or surveyor, of the Salem Custom House. The author s attitude toward his former job is that
the building extremely run down and the Custom House serves the small ship traffic going through the
port, but it is usually a quiet place requiring only minimal work. Hawthorne describes his fellow
workers as elderly and have been working at the Custom House their how lives. The only reason why
they are there is through family connections and they repeatedly tell the stories. So, what I take from
this is that he did not like his old job, the reason being is that he only speaks negative about everything
relating to his former job. Hawthorne addresses the reader directly and it causes an effect by showing
that he s trying to connect with all sorts of people. He describes the letter as scarlet, gold embroidered
piece of cloth in the shape of the letter A . Which makes me feel that if they put all that time into
making it look nice, that there is some type of importance related to it.

Taking a Look at Stress
Stress can be defined as change in one s physical or mental state in response to strain and pressure. A
truly ignored side of stress is, it can be positively adaptive. positive mental stress can prompt
inspiration and test rather than uneasiness. Stress can help people in achieving their goals and taking
them through challenging situation but stress can also become burdensome leading to emotional
distress or physical illness. It could be outer and identified with the environment, however it might
additionally be made by inward recognitions that cause a single person to have tension or other
antagonistic feelings encompassing a circumstance, for example, weight, uneasiness, and so on, which
they then esteem upsetting.
Negative emotional states, for example, emotions of nervousness and melancholy, could impact the
pathogenesis of physical sickness, which thusly, have immediate impacts on biotic process that could
bring about expanded danger of malady at last. Case in point, when people are under ceaseless
anxiety, lasting changes in their physiological, passionate, and behavioural reactions are destined to
occur. Such changes could prompt infection. Endless anxiety results from upsetting occasions that
hold on over a moderately long time of time, for example, administering to a mate with dementia, or
effects from short central occasions that keep on being accomplished as overwhelmingly long after
they are over, for example, encountering abuse from senior employee.

Comparing Poems Industrialization And Soft Rains
We came into this world and started to take over nature which, in the past, ruled the world itself. In the
poems industrialization by Oni and Soft Rains by Sara Teasdale, they both share the message that
nature s cycles will forever go on regardless of technology through the use of syntax and figurative
language.
In industrialization Oni demonstrates the overall idea of human unimportance by using sentence
structure. what is a human/ but a cosmic spec/ of semi wanderlust... . The sentence structure of the
previous quote helps prove the theme of human unimportance because every line of the poem does not
have a complete sentence. The line but a cosmic spec not only is an extremely short line of the poem,
but also provokes how small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the third stanza the poem writes Robins will wear their feathery fire,/ Whistling their whims on a
low fence / Wire; . Alliteration is present in the lines that say feathery fire and whistling their whims
since they both use the same first letter as one another. This alliteration shows how nature does not
need humans in order for it to carry out its daily functions. Humans are not a necessary part of life, the
robins will still keep doing what they need to without the invasion of humans. In the last stanza, the
poem states And spring herself, when she woke at/ Dawn/ Would scarcely know that we were gone. .
This is an example of personification because it shows spring waking up and continuing her routine
which gives an inanimate object a human characteristic. This stanza also helps prove the theme of the
unimportance of humans since the quote is saying that spring arouse and did not even notice the lack
of existence of humans. The quotes above use figurative language to relate the theme of human
unimportance to nature carrying on its normal responsibility. Both show that nature does not need
human interference to continue with

job opportunity or remain in my existing position.
Step Two is to do a self assessment. At this point, I began to consider my needs and wants. Would the
new opportunity really be something I would enjoy? Would it be challenging? This particular new
opportunity was an office position. I am accustomed to working in the field. So I had to ask myself
how will I adapt to the everyday office environment.
Step Three is to identify the options. I began to gather information about other potential opportunities
that may soon be an option. Should I settle for this opportunity or what for one more suitable for me,
is a question I proposed to myself.
Step Four is to gather information and data. I reviewed the salary potential of the job opportunity. I
considered the current salary and potential future salary increase.
Step Five is to evaluate options that will solve the problem. In trying to make my decision, I listed the

Essay on Two Ageing Theories and Examples
There are two theories of ageing. The disengagement theory is when the elderly unfortunately start to

because physical functions deteriorate. There are three phases of disengagement theory. These are

The activity theory is when you will carry on with any activities or interests that you will have. This is
to stay physically and mentally active. You may start to disengage with some things such as leaving
job or leaving family however you will start new activities that you may have an interest in. A theory
is an explanation or reason for that fact.
In 1966 Bromley argued that people do engagement but need to remain active in order to prevent
disengagement to cause major problems. He said that it is important to have an interest in some
activities because being disengaged can have an effect on an individual and lead them to isolation and
depression.
A theory of ageing is a explanation or reason for the natural cause of ageing. It explains the changes a
person goes through when they age. Theories can be proved or sided by laws and facts and tested
hypotheses.
Disengagement theory
An example of disengagement theory is when a pensioner quits his job or does not take up any
hobbies. They may just stay at home and not even socialise with friends and family.
Advantages of the disengagement theory are people can start to rest and not worry about anything.
They become independent and take their mind off things. This may be because they are
understandable that it is the final stages of life so they may want to be independent and not do
anything. However there are many disadvantages of the disengagement theory. When a person

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Case Study
Introduction
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a heart condition in which part of the heart muscle gets too
thick. The condition can cause a dangerous and abnormal heart rhythm. It can also weaken the heart
over time.
The heart is divided into four chambers. The thickening usually affects the pumping chamber on the
lower left (left ventricle). HCM may also affect the valve that lets blood flow out of the left ventricle
(mitral valve). Symptoms often begin at about age 30.
What are the causes?
This condition is usually caused by abnormal genes that control heart muscle growth. These abnormal
genes are passed down through families (inherited).

Satire It s not surprising that in this world you see at least one person a day smoking. I mean, who

I like mine fully addicted and ready to waste their life away. It s the best religion that I must say so

days. I mean, what other reason would people put something so horrible into their body if it didn t
relieve any type of stress or good feeling. I live for the day to see everyone to have lung cancer and
killing themselves for just being vulnerable about stress relief. I mean, people preach smoking
nowadays. People wanna go back to the way of smoking in a restaurant and people recommend it, it s
a religion that s being created without anyone understanding. As the smokinese people believe that the
only way to live a happy and stress free life is to become addicted to smoking, they sure are right. I

Essay Disadvantages Of Deficit Spending
Deficit spending is defined as government spending, in excess of revenue, of funds raised by
borrowing rather than from taxation . Government deficit is the foundation of our economical system.
Deficit spending is the process of spending more money than you have coming in. Government
purchases make up the next largest category and this contains items that the government pays for to
continue to operate plus the value of the goods and services put out by the government. It does not
however include government payments such as welfare or social security. There are many advantages
in deficit spending; one for example is increase growth within the economy. When the government

Society s Pokemon Impact On Children And Society
Nintendo s Pokemon franchise is a rare beast in a field of short lived children s cultures. The series,
which began in the realm of handheld video games, quickly developed into one of the longest running

its ability to target a younger demographic almost exclusively. Parents in the nineties would rush out

people should preserve nature and protect it. In addition, it is imperative to realize that, the survival of

fact, science place a relevant part in the conservation of the planet. Moreover, Physical geography is

Essay Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Recently I have been watching two Disney films on completely different sides of the Disney timeline.
Pinocchio was made in 1940 using cell animation with the story taken from an existing folk tale. Toy
Story was made in 1995 and it was the first computer generated feature film. This created a whole new
genre of computer animated films such as Finding Nemo and the recent Incredibles . Both of these
films use a toy as the main character and as always they both fit into the conventions of any Disney
film.

The good characters in Pinocchio are very stereotypical such as Gepetto. He is a typical homely
grandfather figure. Jiminy Cricket adds guidance and humour to the film and finally the Blue Fairy is
added for beauty with bright ora. On the other hand Sid s toys in Toy Story are very unattractive, and
at first we are led to believe they are evil, but in fact they save Woody and Buzz. This shows that you
should never judge on appearance. As we have good characters there are also evil characters. They are
usually portrayed in very stereotypical ways such as an evil laugh or an ugly exterior. Some examples
of this is Stromboli the circus owner in Pinocchio who is large and intimidating. His eyes are
frightening and he is most definitely greedy. Honest John is also evil; he is a sly and cunning fox with
a pun on his name. In Toy Story the only bad character is Sid. He is horrible, ugly (a brace and an evil
laugh) and even he destroys toys. But as in every Disney film the good will eventually overcome the
evil.
Another Disney convention is that there are always some Disney Values in each picture. In Pinocchio ,
Toy Story and even Finding Nemo one of the morals is that there is no place like home. The Toy Story
morals are Not to be jealous and Be happy with what

Relationship Between The Live Event And The Document...
This paper will explore a range of perspectives on the relationship between the live event and the
document within performance practice, specifically focus on in relation to body, time and space.
Performance art is commonly known as a performance presented to a viewer within a fine art context.
Through performance artists emphasize the body s role in artistic production. Historically,
performance archive has been characterized as an unfaithful representation of the momentary art
experience. Yet, in contemporary art the relationship between live performance practices and
documentation has progressed towards reconciliation. Whether, the performance is scripted or
unscripted, the performer s body is present or absent. Performance art can happen in any type of venue
and for any length of time. Documentation of performance practice documents the actions of an
individual or a group at a particular place and in a particular time.
A fascination with the human body, body were an experience that could somehow be held in common.
The ways in which we might experience the body as connected or represent it as disconnected in a live

proposed that art existed in real space and real time. Marina Abramovic, a pioneer of performance art

Types Of Unemployment From Modern Societies
Nine important types of Unemployment found in Modern Societies are : 1.Voluntary unemployment,
2. Frictional unemployment, 3. Casual unemployment, 4. Seasonal unemployment, 5. Structural
unemployment, 6. Technological unemployment, 7. Cyclical unemployment, 8. Chronic
unemployment, 9. Disguised unemployment. The various types of unemployment may be classified as
follows: 1. Voluntary Unemployment: In every society, there are some people who are unwilling to
work at the prevailing wage rate, and there are some who are lucky enough to get a continuous flow of
unearned income from their unemployed status. Jobs are available for them but they do not want to
accept them. Voluntary unemployment may be a national waste of human energy, but it is not a serious
economic problem with any social repercussions. Voluntary unemployment is consistent with the state
of full employment. 2. Frictional Unemployment: Frictional unemployment is a temporary
phenomenon. It may take place in various ways. When some workers are temporarily out of work
while changing jobs, it is called frictional unemployment. Similarly, strikes and lockouts may result in
the suspension of work, and there may exist some frictional unemployment for the time being. To
some extent, frictional unemployment is also caused by the imperfect mobility of labour. Factors
inhibiting the geographical or occupational movement of unemployed workers into vacant jobs, thus,
cause frictional unemployment. Hence the problem of

schools, colleges, and the workplace. To recognize that queer women have always been at the
forefront of the feminist movement, and that there is nothing to be gained and much to be lost by
downplaying their history, whether inadvertently or actively. I saw aspects of supporting and
encouraging LGBT in the music video Brave that illustrates my perspective on the topic stated. ...

The lyrics in the song Say what you wanna say. And let the words fall out. Honestly I wanna see you
be brave is a push for support and an increase in the visibility and power for the LGBT community. In
the video it shows encouragement in several places that people might feel the least inspired to have
courage and not be who they want to be. Such as a gym, the mall, and in a school setting. Co writer,
Jack Antonoff, stated I ll always internalize it as a real civil rights anthem at a time when there are no
civil rights anthems and there s a giant need for them. (Peeples,

The Importance Of Self-Limiting Beliefs
We all have self limiting beliefs in one way or another. However, if we want to be successful we need
to learn to let go of these beliefs; beliefs like denial and resistances. Many of these self limiting beliefs
result from stories that we have created in our mind. When bad things happens we tend to defend, over
rationalized or protect ourselves as part of our survival instinct. Unfortunately these kinds of behaviors
keep us from moving forward. Do you make excuses for procrastinating? Do you blame others for
your lower performance at work? Are you blaming your excessive weight on your genetics? If so, it s
time to learn how to make some mental adjustments so that you can really enjoy your life and
experience a much more abundant and fulfilling life. Abundant and prosperous people face the same
difficulties and discomforts that the rest of us do but they have learned how to take appropriate actions
to avoid negative consequences. The basic principle to learn is to take responsibility for your life. It is
up to us to be successful, overcome challenges and deal with drawbacks. Sometimes there are things
out of our control, but we can choose to acknowledge this situation, understand the red flags, find a

Analysis Of The Film The Flies By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Artistically speaking, this film is beautiful. There was a lot of thought put into every detail from the
actors to the camera shots. The film seems to flow in beautiful manner from one scene to the next.
One piece of art in the film is the use of symbols. Each symbol is delicately placed in order to make
sense to any viewers that can pick up on them. One symbol is Nick s obsession with his Peace Lily. It
represents his obsession with the job. It is the only other thing he cares for because its needs are
simple and by the books. When he breaks it, it is supposed to symbolize his change of heart; that
somebody has taken the place of the lily. Another symbol in the film is the number 3. There are 3
murders that take place before people believe Nicholas. There are 3 people Nick tries to talk to in
order to get out of being sent to Sanford. Many lines are repeated 3 times over. This could be in
reference to fairytales always using the number 3, since this plot seems far fetched like a fairytale.
However, it could also be in reference to the trilogy of films that Wright and Pegg made together.
Then, there is the swan symbol. Swans typically symbolize grace, beauty, and peace. In the film,
though, the swans symbolize an overbearing distraction. Nicholas is constantly surrounded by them in
the hotel he stays at, which is rightly called The Swan Hotel . He is also charged with the task of
catching an escaped swan. This causes him to miss many chances to catch the perpetrators of

  • 2. Personification In Duchess On The Wall not Fra Pandolf himself. Additionally, personification is used as paintings are not supposed to stand. The Duke dehumanizes Fra Pandolf. This means that he would essentially a tool instead of a person. Throughout the poem, the Duke can be seen as he constantly boasts about the duchess. The Duke tells the painter that when other guests arrive at his palace, they would ask me, if they durst, . The embedded clause and conversational tone reinstates his status and power and that the poem is set in a patriarchal society where the Duke dominates and holds primary power. The Duchess on the wall was Too easily impressed; she liked whate er She looked on, and her looks went everywhere . The verb phrase, too easily impressed implies that the narrative persona is bitter and was hyperbolic at the same time. Nevertheless, the noun, whate er also states that the narrative persona has a tyrannical nature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Duke instructs the painter, Will t please you rise? We ll meet the company below. The interrogative sentence, Will t please you rise? shows that he has authority over everyone in his palace. Thus, the proposition, The company below suggests that he thinks he is above everyone with his power. The painter can be seen as he is scared of the duke. My parents were both born and raised in Poland, so in our household my parents would communicate to us in Polish. My mother is fluent in both polish and English, but my father is only fluent in Polish, his English is pretty broken. The years went by and it was growing more complex to communicate with my father, since he is only fluent in polish and I only knew how to communicate in English. The Role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) Sociocultural disparities with DM II management results in abridged growth and development, comorbidities, and premature mortality. CHWs are strong advocates dedicated to improving community health and wellness in vulnerable populations. A hopeful intervention to help diabetic patients improve their health and quality of life is to promote the concept of employing community health workers (CHWs) (Van der Wees, P., et al., 2014). CHWs are an integral part of diabetes management, as they help to augment clinical practice and address many dimensions of a person s life. The role and responsibility of CHWs is to communicate culturally sensitive and appropriate education, promote individualized self efficacy using self care themes, guide behavioral modifications, and provide patient care and social support (Hunt, C. Initial 5 forces conclusions seem to hinge on a lack of competitive advantage to launch Cambridge in the short run. RECOMMENDATIONS After a SWOT and 5 forces analysis, we would recommend that MEM: 1. Try to advance and maybe extend the product life cycle of Racquet Club and Musk to a more mature stage 4. Phase out โ€˜dogs โ€“ Lime, Windrift and Timberline based on BCG 5. Monitor the sales response for Blue Stratos, if negative, launch Cambridge. The most important reason for delaying Cambridge s launch would be to help MEM avoid direct competition with Shulton s Blue Stratos, since obviously; people never wear 2 types of colognes at once given that these 2 lines have the exact same target market. Hence, it would make sense to adopt a โ€˜wait and see strategy. Secondly, since MEM also has a strong opportunity to expand into food stores, we feel it would be a more effective use of resources and manpower in this expansion in the meantime rather than in Cambridge. This expansion into food stores could create greater brand awareness for the MEM name as well as its other lesser profitable lines besides English Leather. • 10. The Changes in the Way People Learn Over time the way people learn, obtain and remember information has drastically changed and will most likely continue to change. I will explore several of the changes from print technology, to recording technology to computers and cellphones. Many years ago very few people knew how to read, it was not until printing technology was improved that everyone began to learn to read. Before printing began all books were printed by hand by specially skilled people and it took several months to finish just one book causing them to be very rare and expensive so that only the wealthiest people could afford them (Bernstein 109). After Gutenberg invented his printing press which had replaceable movable letters used like stamps causing more books to be printed at a time (Bellis). The number of books available greatly rose causing the price of the books to decrease drastically so that even the poorest people could afford them. With this change many people were able to learn how to read. With this new found knowledge the way we learned changed, before people had to remember everything and after printing began to be cheaper people did not have to remember like before they could just read and write to take notes. • 14. Persuasive Essay On Bullying When Will it Stop? What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school each day because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a major problem in schools for far too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they deserve, which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school. The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that they won t be caught and that bullying isn t a huge deal, but it is. Bullying causes students to not go to school, to feel alone, and to leave their school feeling worthless. If the bully were to be suspended, he/she would learn quickly that what they are doing is wrong in so many ways. They will realize that bullying can be the reason they don t get into their dream school or do something they love. On the other hand, victims of bullying don t come forward and voice that the have been taunted, teased, and tormented because they don t think the school will help them. 67 percent of students feel that their school doesn t hear about their bullying and doesn t do anything that will prevent it (Soard). A great number of bullies in schools go unnoticed because of this which will in turn, make them continue to do these hurtful things. Punishments that bullies receive are not harsh enough and need to be reconsidered if we want a change in our lives. Bullies not getting punished leads more students to get involved in these horrible acts due to peer pressure. Students feel like they need to bully to be popular or because everyone else does it. The story begins as Albert and Kehinde Okolo have been living in London for 18 years as a couple. When Albert s sisters begin pressuring him to return to Nigeria, Kehinde resists the idea as their two children have never been to Nigeria and plus the fact that she found out that she is pregnant. But because of Albert s insistence, she decided to get an abortion. Albert then leaves and Kehinde remains behind to sell the house which was ordered by her husband. Later on, he calls their children also to Nigeria. Kehinde is lonely at first but manages on her own. Eventually, she begins to feel like a half person without Albert and so she gives up her job and departs for Nigeria. On her arrival, she is horrified to learn that during their two year separation, Albert now has a second wife. Kehinde decides to return to England and establish a life for herself there. Kehinde s troubled relationship to Albert and her children are paralleled in her recollections of a difficult childhood: Kehinde s twin was stillborn and her mother died at birth, prompting the family to believe that she had eaten her sister. It s a story that she at first accepts, but as she becomes her own woman she rejects its superstitious quality. Some of the themes of the story are Feminism, Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity. Kehinde relishes the freedom she has as a woman living in Britain, a freedom she knows she would not have had in Nigeria. Emecheta makes us very aware of this when she writes, Kehinde was aware that she could talk to her husband less formally than women like her sister. She related to Albert as a friend, a compatriot, a confidant. • 17. Analysis Of The Poem Zhuang Zhou And The Butterfly The word Daoism holds little significance to people in some areas of the world; however in China, as well as several other countries, the word signifies an ancient religion important to the people. Daoism relates to a set of principles that state the way one should lead their life so that one does not interfere with the will of nature. During the Tang Era (618 907 A.D.) in China many poets were inspired by the faiths of not only Daoism but also Confucianism as well as Buddhism. One of these famous poets was Li Bo; Bo was known for many poems with a prominent one titled Zhuang Zhou and the Butterfly. The poem depicts three different scenarios that are affiliated with Daoism through their ties in nature paired with the path one must take through life to show the reader that following the path is essential in life. In the first four lines of the poem, Zhuang Zhou dreamt that he was a butterfly and when he awoke the butterfly became him then questioned which was real. Li Bo utilizes the dream versus reality element to show that dreams can be vividly real while still being completely fictional. However, applying this to lifelong fulfilled dreams can change one s reality as well as putting them on the correct path for their life. These lines also show the relationship to Daoism by using the butterfly that represents nature. Meanwhile the dreams versus reality element present in the first four lines also appertains to the concept of yin and yang. Yin yang defined in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The View Of The Afterlife Essay Classical World Influences Introduction The aim of my report is to explain how the view of the afterlife in Ancient Greece has shaped works of art, books and the mentality of people. In order to do this I am going to explore how ancient Greek people saw the underworld as well as Roman people and the Renaissance period. Because Greeks saw the underworld as a dark, dreadful and gloomy place, many of the works that refer to it, either in Roman times or the Renaissance, are influenced by this view. In particular works like the Odyssey by Homer or The Phaedo by Plato, explained to a certain level the structure of the afterlife in ancient Greece. These two pieces of literature severely influenced works like the book VI of the Aeneid by Virgil where he depicts the underworld referencing to the Greek point of view. But a deeper description of the underworld is given by Dante in his Divine Comedy where he uses Virgil as his guide, from the depths of hell to the Purgatory while Beatrice, Dante s ideal woman, guides him through heaven. All these time periods shared the idea of the underworld as being a place where souls pay the sins they committed during their lives. Afterlife in Ancient Greece The afterlife in ancient Greece was Known as Hades. It was a grey world ruled by Hades, the Lord of the Dead. The factors of media, body satisfaction, and gender on weight biases Crista Benton University of Tampa INTRO The stigma against obese indivuduals is now global. It happens at the playground, during job interviews, while applying for graduate school, in court and even at the doctors office. (1 5) There are already well documented differences between weight bias and gender. Aruguete, Yates and Edman found that women tend to internalize their anti fat attitudes, meaning they value thinness within themselves more than others. They become fearful of gaining weight, and tend to have a stronger desire than men to lose weight. Aruguete s sample of women had desires 3 times higher to lose weight than the men. Due to the internalization, women tend to be more dissatisfied with their body and are more likely to engage in risky dietary behaviors. Interalizing antifat attitudes is not related to the dislike of obease individuals. Men externalize their anti fat attitudes; even overweight men are more likely than women to have a bias against overweight individuals. Men value thiness in other people more than they do in themselves. A previous study shows that watching 40 minutes of The Biggest Loser increases weight bias. The narrator, who shares similar traits with Nathaniel Hawthorne, takes a post as the chief executive officer, or surveyor, of the Salem Custom House. The author s attitude toward his former job is that the building extremely run down and the Custom House serves the small ship traffic going through the port, but it is usually a quiet place requiring only minimal work. Hawthorne describes his fellow workers as elderly and have been working at the Custom House their how lives. The only reason why they are there is through family connections and they repeatedly tell the stories. So, what I take from this is that he did not like his old job, the reason being is that he only speaks negative about everything relating to his former job. Hawthorne addresses the reader directly and it causes an effect by showing that he s trying to connect with all sorts of people. He describes the letter as scarlet, gold embroidered piece of cloth in the shape of the letter A . Which makes me feel that if they put all that time into making it look nice, that there is some type of importance related to it. In the last stanza, the poem states And spring herself, when she woke at/ Dawn/ Would scarcely know that we were gone. . The film seems to flow in beautiful manner from one scene to the next. One piece of art in the film is the use of symbols. Each symbol is delicately placed in order to make sense to any viewers that can pick up on them. One symbol is Nick s obsession with his Peace Lily. It represents his obsession with the job. It is the only other thing he cares for because its needs are simple and by the books. When he breaks it, it is supposed to symbolize his change of heart; that somebody has taken the place of the lily. Another symbol in the film is the number 3. This could be in reference to fairytales always using the number 3, since this plot seems far fetched like a fairytale. However, it could also be in reference to the trilogy of films that Wright and Pegg made together. Then, there is the swan symbol. Swans typically symbolize grace, beauty, and peace.
