Kamchatka Ainu Research Paper
Kamchatka Ainu dialect revitalization 1. General information about the community, the idiom and
its degree of endangerment Ainu people have lived upon southern part of Kamchatka peninsula
since very long ago (estimation of time when Ainu came to Kamchatka can differ seriously
depending on particular approaches of different archaeologists/anthropologists, but anyway
everybody agrees that Ainu already were upon Kamchatka by 12th century AD). Dialect of
Kamchatka Ainu is very close to that of Kuril Ainu and actually the idiom can also be named
Kamchatka Kuril Ainu dialect. The dialect is rather close to the dialects of Eastern Hokkaido,
especially to that of Kushiro/Shiranuka. The idiom was first recorded by Stepan Petrovich
Krasheninnikov who managed his field researches in 1737 1741; and the last recording was
managed by Benedykt Dybowski who travelled to Kamchatka in 1877 1883.... Show more content

In the end of 20th century and in the beginning of 21st it has been generally supposed that all
Kamchatka Ainu have been completely assimilated by Itelmen and by Russian people. However, in
2004 a small group of Ainu appeared upon Kamchatka. In 2000 ies information about this
community started to appear in different Russian media (mostly in different online media).
Kamchatka Ainu were not marked anyhow in the census that took place in 2002, however, about
100 members of the community have been marked in the census that took place in 2010. Actually
there probably are about 200 of Kamchatka Ainu. Despite Kamchatka Ainu have been marked in the
last census, but the community hasn t been recognized as indigenous community by Russian
officials. The case of Kamchatka Ainu is an extreme case of endangered language. The language
has gone out of everyday normal use, however, it has been documented, also we know its closest

Comparison Between Different Enterprise Architecture...
4.1 Comparison of Different Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
A number of EA frameworks exist in the industry with the goal of addressing the basic challenge of
assessing, aligning, and organizing business objectives with technical requirements and strategies.
Examples include the Zachman Enterprise Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework
(TOGAF), OMB Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), and The Gartner Methodology (formerly
the Meta Framework).
Each framework possesses different strengths and weaknesses, which makes it difficult to find any
one existing framework that is ideal for all situations. The following chart depicts how four
Enterprise Architecture Frameworks compare.
4.2 How to Solve the Problem?
To touch lightly on value, there are multiple levels of value and it is one of the most difficult things
to measure as it contains both quantitative and qualitative aspects. But for an EA practice the
following should be considered:
Cost Avoidance How do we avoid unnecessary costs?
Cost Reduction How do we reduce our current spend?
Quality How do we improve the quality of our information?
Risk Containment How to we control and reduce organisational risks?
Stakeholder Value How do we improve our value to our stakeholders?
Resource Allocations How do we improve the view of demand for our services?
Productivity How do we increase our productivity and efficiency?
Collaboration How do we improve our engagement

The Features Of A Relational Database
P1 Explain the features of a relational database. This is to be shown as a report or presentation and
must discuss the following.
Features: entities; attributes; relationships;
Entities: primary keys, foreign keys; referential integrity; attributes;
Attributes: field properties e.g. data types, size, validation rules
Relationships: one to many; one to one; many to many
Relational database This is a database that contains more than one table of which are linked using
key fields. An example could be a library database which could have the ability to have 3 tables.
To further this example one table could be Customers so when somebody joins the library a record

All of the features above techniques on how a database can receive, store, search and send all
types of data to a different database
Data Types
Databases always keep data as it stores it making the data more efficient and all the different types
of data are generally categorised as a specific data type.
There is 5 main types of data such as Boolean, date/time, currency Numerical and text.
Boolean This is when data is limited to only 2 different choices. An example is
True/False
Yes/No
Male/Female
Date/Time This kind of data limits you to only being able to use numbers from 1 31 for the
number of days in the month and 1 12 for the number of the month then it examines if the date in
fact exists/. There is three different formats for this type of data such as long, medium and short.
Long time 19:25:00
Medium Time 07:25PM
Short time 19.25
Long date 30 April 2014
Medium date 30 Apr 14
Short date 30/04/14
Currency This type of data is automatically changes the data you enter to possess a ВЈ in front of it

Essay On The American Identity
The American Identity Americans have not only defined themselves by their religious, ethnic
and racial identity, but also by their individual freedom and common values. America has
become a nation where its people can fight for what they believe in. Our founding fathers have
formed America to be the land of the free and the home of the brave . Being apart of the
American culture and living on the land founded by our leaders specifies the meaning of the
American Identity. In my opinion, the American Identity is shown through the ideas of its people,
and their willingness to take risks. The creation of The Constitution and the Declaration of
Independence were two ideas shown through the people. Americans were willing to take risks no
matter the circumstances. Intelligence is a good way to define the American identity. A
Constitution like ours has never been created before, but they drew on the ideas of other
philosophers and political scientists. It was written to make fundamental laws and to regulate the
basic rights of its citizens. With the creation of the government/constitution, they also created a
couple of different plans. They created The Virginia Plan and The New Jersey Plan. The Virginia
plan is a bicameral (2 house) congress, but votes are based off population and wealth. On the
other side, The New Jersey Plan is a small state, unicameral (1 house) congress, but every state has
one vote. Since both plans were different in certain ways a compromise was formed. The

The Concept Of Collaboration Within The Organization
Introduction
Interagency collaboration is the modern concept of collaboration in which different organization
within and outside of government work together towards a common objective. Collaboration
involves all the organizations and agencies in the advancement of the common agenda, and it has
been the real catalyst for development (Finn Kohler, 2009). Different programs have been initiated
to ensure that agencies can collaborate and work together to enhance social, economic and political
development. Agencies can collaborate at different levels ranging from exchange of information,
coordination, cooperation and collaboration and all the levels of collaboration focus on working
together to achieve common objectives (Noonan Morningstar, 2008). At the basic level, the issue of
collaboration has no single comprehensive definition, but generally, it refers to the joint action in
different organizations in an effort to articulate for a common objective. Inter agency collaboration
aims to bring together agencies, service providers, and workforces to form temporary of long
lasting partnerships that can enable sharing of resources to reduce the overall costs for program
implementation and increase efficiency. Interagency collaboration is the only approach to enhance
sharing of duties and responsibilities in program implementation. The study aims to show the
collaboration between the Illinois Community College Board and the Division of Humans capital
development to improve

The Woman In Black Analysis
How does the author make the first encounter with the Woman in Black particularly ominous?
The author, Susan Hill, makes the first encounter with the Woman in Black distinctly foreboding
by her use of description, sound and Mr Kipps s apparent innocence. The Woman in Black is
described as suffering from some terrible wasting disease which makes her skin only the thinnest
layer of flesh [...] strained across her bones . Immediately, the reader is given some clue about her
health. It seems, from the description, that she is on the verge of death. This association with death
instantly makes the representation of the Womanin Black creepier. Phrases like sunken back and
gaunt with disease are used to warn the reader and stop them pitying ... Show more content on

Most people tend to pray at funerals, particularly in the Victorian era when religion was a highly
significant part of people s lives. She is also quite late, arriving halfway to the end of it and then
disappearing before the cortГЁge. There is also the obvious factor that it seemed particularly
strange that a woman who was perhaps only a short time away from her own death, should drag
herself to the funeral of another . To a reader, this seems decidedly minatory, since it is
incredibly unlikely that someone about to breathe their last would go to Mrs Drablow s burial,
especially as Mrs Drablow was known for having no close friends or family and the only other
people at her funeral (besides the Parson) were her solicitors. Lastly, on the off chance she just
didn t have a prayer book and actually was Mrs Drablow s long lost relative or forgotten friend,
as Mr Kipps clearly believed, she disappeared with a slight rustle of clothing . Finally, there is Mr
Kipps s reaction to his first encounter with the Woman in Black. Of course he didn t know she
was the Woman in Black; instead he saw her as a young woman who was about to die but kind
enough to see her friend off. Indeed, he vowed to speak to her [to see if he] could be of any
assistance . Susan Hill makes him pity the Woman in Black, yet warns the reader with short
sentences like Nor did she look old , followed by abnormally long sentences, joined together with
three or four commas, as if contradicting Mr Kipps s earlier thoughts in a way that can only be
interpreted fully by the

Rice Eccles Stadium Case Study
If you re from Utah then you know all about Rice Eccles Stadium, the home of the University of
Utah football team. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, the Rice Eccles stadium held the Opening
and Closing Ceremony. The stadium was built to host the winter Olympic and the winter
Paralympics. The construction cost $45 million and taking 18 months to construct, costing the
Eccles family and sponsors $1000 per seat. The stadium has also been used as concert venues for
the Rolling Stones, NSYNC, and U2. UtahUtes fans don t know about the expansion plans and the

as long as fire marshal allows it. The past few years the stadium has gone through several
upgrades to improve sells and provide a better experience for students and patrons. The
University of Utah spent $3.3 million upgrading men s bathroom, also spending $35,000 to
install a new and improved water fountains after fans complained that vendors were blocking the
water fountains. There is a plan to replace the current scoreboard with a scoreboard that is 4 times
bigger, by next football season. The estimated cost would be $13 million; there are also rumors of
expanding the south side of the stadium still keeping the original lockers from the Rice stadium.
With the expansion, the U shape stadium would be closed adding 20,000

The Movie The Frighteners Way Before I Knew Who He
The thing I find interesting about this Peter Jackson is that I watched his movie the frighteners way
before I knew who he was.
The Frighteners directed by Peter Jackson and co written with his wife, Fran Walsh. A lot of
people don t know that Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh conceived the idea for The Frighteners
during the script writing phase of Heavenly Creatures. The Frighteners was a spin off film of to the
television series, Tales from the Crypt. But after Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh s first draft it was
agreed that the script would be better of as a movie than a tv series The visual effects were created
by Jackson s Weta Digital, which had only been in existence for three years. And the fact that The
Frighteners required more digital effects shots than almost any movie made until that time, resulted
in the eighteen month period for effects work by Weta Digital being largely stressed.
Despite a rushed post production schedule, Universal was so impressed with Jackson s rough cut
on The Frighteners, the studio moved the theatrical release date closer by four months. The film
was not a box office success, but received generally positive reviews from critics. Despite its
lackluster performance at the box office, the film has gained a cult following in more recent years.
The Frighteners is also Fox s last leading role in a live action feature film; Fox then went on to a
four year run on the television series Spin City before semi retiring in 2000 due to the effects of

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
One day at a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym, a newer white belt was feeling overwhelmed with the many
techniques involved with the martial art and was wondering if there is an infinite amount of
techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He thought about the fact that it takes, on average, roughly ten
years for a person to achieve a black belt and knowing this, he started to believe that there is not
an infinite amount of techniques and the list of moves is just finite. He still wasn t sure so he
decided to ask his black belt instructor. After class that evening, he walked over to his instructor as
he was mopping the mats and proceeded to ask the big question, Coach, is there an infinite amount
of techniques involved in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? His instructor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

You see, not all black belts have the same cardinality and with each degree of the black belt,
comes a new set of skills in their infinite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey. Each black belt has different
body types, flexibility, age, injuries that they have adapted to, as well as experiences, and the
list goes on. The advanced skills that it took to become an adult black belt 20 years ago is being
taught to children today as the art has evolved through the years and will continue to evolve due
to the adaptation to the evolution. Each black belt has an infinite skill potential too, and this is
dependent on an individual level. It all depends on how many days they train a week, the
different training partners they have and the experiences they bring, and even experimentation of
the art. This means that each black belt s infinite skill potential is different and has a different
cardinality compared to the rest. There is no way to create an infinite one to one correspondence
between any of them. The only one to one pairing that can possibly be made will have to be a
finite one that is paired all the way up to achieving the coveted black belt. After that, they create
their own path in the infinite martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and then pass it along to the next
student with an infinite skill

A Brief Note On Parking At Grand Valley
The $260 Difference: Parking at Grand Valley As I was growing up I remember how excited I
was for my sixteenth birthday. I would finally receive my license and I would be able to drive
the gold Pontiac G6 that sat in my driveway for three months prior to my birthday. I was looking
forward to driving myself to school. At that time I was unaware that my high school required a
parking permit in order to have a car parked in their lot. Parking permits were $100 for the year,
which seemed outrageous since there were more than enough spots for every student and the
parking lot was recently repaved. As I grew even older and decided to come to college, I realized
that parking on campus was going to be $360 for a full year. Luckily, I had enough... Show more

In all of those expenses, parking is not included and is just another added fee. On top of that a
few schools in Michigan charge under $180/semester. For example, Northern Michigan
University chargers $140/semester, Aquinas College charges $150 a semester, Ferris State
charges $170/year and Michigan State charges $290/year. As a college student, I don t
understand why Grand Valley s price for parking permits is so much higher than other schools.
It seems like every other year the price increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to
$180 per semester in May of 2014, according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand
the need for the extra cost for parking, there are some students who do not realize the importance
of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP has this fee for parking is due to the limited number
of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400 parking spots between the Allendale and Pew
campuses (Garringer). With 25,094 students enrolled that is only enough parking for 45% of
students. Although not all students have cars at school, that reason alone is not enough for parking
permits to be at such a high price. Some of the students who purchased a parking permit aren t
aware of what that money is funding and don t understand why the price is so high. Some students
are misled about where the money from the parking permits is actually

Difference Between Social And Social Psychology
Social Psychology and Multicultural Psychology Paper
i.Define social psychology.
Social psychology is the science that aims to determine how people think about, relate to, feel
about, and influence one another. Social psychology is a branch of study on social influence, how
individuals have an influence on one another. Social influence is noted to affect trivial behaviours,
such as making paper airplanes in class, as well as important behaviour, such as giving in to
majority opinion over one s judgement. It is an attempt to understand and lay down how thought,
behaviour, feeling of a person is affected by the actual, implied, imagined, presence of other people.
For example, the social influence of social psychology can be demonstrated with an instance
involving Kim, ken, and their friend s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a person bending to the majority people s decision over one s judgment on an issue
is a social influence by the presence of others. Second, the phrase actual presence of others implies
a physical appearance in the place to influence thought or feelings. Imagined presence makes
people regulate their behaviour according to the reactions that they imagine people will give about
the behaviour. The implied presence is demonstrated by the people automatically obeying social
artefacts, such as streetlights, or other objects such as a black, may imply the presence of a person.
ii.Describe the primary research strategies used in social psychology and give an example of each.
There are three different types of primary research strategies that can be used with social
psychology. They are descriptive, experimental, and correlation research methods. The research
methods differ in the kind of hypothesis each investigates, and the issues it raise.

Ecological Roles Of African Forest Elephants
Also, The African forest elephants are, similar to Maxwell s duikers, important dispersers of seeds
through their consumption of fruit [4]. Forest dates in particular are thought of as elephant
dependent, since the seed develops superiorly after going through an elephant s system and
moreover, the decline of elephantpopulations in West African rain forests in Upper Guinea is
correlated with forestdate population declines [4]. Figs are known to be a large food source for
many animal species throughout the rainforest, giving the ability for a wider range of biodiversity
for both plants and animals. This makes the dispersal of seeds by African forest elephants a crucial
part of Ghana s fig population, also creating an impact on other... Show more content on

African forest elephants can also provide ivory for economic profit if maintained in a well
structured system to boost the numbers in its population. Moreover, both species provide their
hides and skins for marketable products for Ghana s consumers. But, for these species of animal to
be useful and have a positive impact for our human population as well, management preparation and
action is needed to be taken to prevent any negative forthcomings.
Policies need to be put into place to effectively change the management of these tropical forest
inhabitants. One option of policy that I strongly recommend would be to change the logging and
deforestation rates along with a different structural aspect to the process. An idea by the
Biodiversity of West African Forests explains that, Many large animals have large home ranges as
a result of fragmentation of forest, the resulting forest patches may be too small to sustain a viable
animal population. Thus for effective protection of plant species and their related animals sizeable
forest tracts are needed. An alternative is a combination of smaller patches connected to each other
with corridors, forming ecological networks [6]. These networks would link the forest reserves and
other cataloged forests. This type of networking strategy is needed so that the passageways can be
used as linkages for both animals and plants to travel throughout more land area so that they can

The Federal Sentencing Guidelines And The Equal Protection...
Women are twice as likely as men to avoid incarceration if convicted of a crime. Whether or not this
is fair, though, is highly debated. Some politicians argue that women s prisons be abolished all
together, while Men s Rights Activists push for equal sentencing for comparable crimes. It has been
proven that judges tend to give women less time in prison, or no incarceration at all, and the
reasons for this support the imbalance in sentencing. Though many view women s tendency to
receive lighter punishments as unfair, it is justified that women receive this treatment because of
legal rules that surround the subject, the statistics that show women commit less serious and violent
crimes, and how women being incarcerated impacts those around them. Laws like the Federal
Sentencing Guidelines and the Equal Protection Clause were created to allow equal sentencing and
treatment for all, but have proven to allow for women to be given lighter sentences. The Federal
Sentencing Guidelines are designed to encourage the uniform and proportional treatment of
defendants based on legally relevant factors (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). What has
evolved to be legally relevant though, does not include gender. The guidelines allow for some
discretion through the use of departures, which enable factors such as family ties and
responsibilities to be considered (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). This further allows
extralegal factors to be considered when a judge determines the

their size , trying to fit in , or even think their weight isn t good enough for an relationship.
Women need to stop pressuring their self about their body size and just be happy. Always
remember beauty come in any size and form. This generation is cruel and evil , everyone looks

women bully one another with body hatred. Women like to have power over each other so by

nation would be the Obama care. This is a Universal health care reform that would benefit
everyone across the nation, including those with pre existing conditions and those that have
difficulty obtaining the proper medical attention that they need. I believe that with this type of
health care it could save many more lives and lessen the financial worries of families who have
love ones that are in need of a special procedure who may have to travel across that the states to

contributing to the downfall of society, evidence that President Obama is a socialist, and generally

The Pursue Of Adversity
Difficult circumstances often evoke critical responses from those who experience them. In many
cases, individuals who are subject to adversity are able to utilize abilities that they would never
have otherwise. As Roman poet Horace claims Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in
prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant. This statement is true in many ways;
evolutionary responses, technological innovations, as well as political pursuits can be applied to
this situation. The most basic evolutionary instinct fight or flight has shown how in the face of
danger, all living organisms will strive for the will to live. This simple notion of protecting oneself

Stereotypes Of African American Women During The Civil War
A closer study at Mammy , the quintessential Southern African American nanny, as the core icon of
African American womanhood, during the Civil War, particularly in films, who has figured
prominently on memory, reveals that her depiction and characteristics skewed the collective and
individual memory of the role of real African American women, such as Harriet Tubman. This
powerful figure in Southern households created stereotyped images of African Americanwomen
slaves, i.e. Gone with the Wind (1939), allowing audiences to believe this to be an accurate
depiction of African American women rather than recognizing the major contributions they made in
the Civil War. The stereotype overshadowed the real efforts and work of African American women,
both enslaved and freed; and left a false image which affected women then and now.
Particularly, in Civil War era films, African American women were predominantly shown as
having a robust figure, a constant smile, and a happy disposition, i.e. mammies. By the time the
flood of Civil War features began in 1908, these racist cliches were set in stone (Chadwick 80).
The archetype of Mammy became a stereotype created by white producers in an effort to portray
African American women in a more pleasing light, to satisfy white audiences. Filmmakers actions
created an intensified racial stereotype and instilled a false image of African Americans. Chadwick
called this the Hollywood black : a racial viewpoint filmmakers created about blacks.

Ulcerative Colitis
Introduction: What is Ulcerative Colitis? Just from the name, you can guess that this disease
concerns ulcers. But does this entail anything else? Let us find out in this article about the disease
that still has its causes unverified by the world. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is a disease/disorder of the
Large intestine. It occurs in the colonand rectum areas only. When food passes through the Large
Intestine, the body s immune system may mistake the food materials, bacteria, etc as foreign
invading agents and sends White blood cells (WBC) to defend the body. This causes chronic
inflammation and ulceration of the large intestine, which causes severe pain and discomfort for the
patient. This is why this disease falls under the category of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and
is also referred to as an autoimmune disease. Furthermore, we still don t... Show more content on

They are considered as auto immune disorders and both of them successfully fall under the
criteria of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) but they work in different areas of the body. Crohn
s disease can occur in any part of the Gastro Intestinal Tract (GIT), while Ulcerative Colitis only
affects the colon and rectum of the large intestine. Again, Crohn s Disease can affect all layers of
the bowel while Ulcerative Colitis, can harm only the linings of the colon. These are the major
differences between them. Conclusion
Though Ulcerative Colitis is not a disease that can cause certain death, but it can lead to the
creation of many other which have high mortality rates. Such as, strokes and colon cancer. We
know that there is bleeding when Ulcerative Colitis occurs. So, during blood clotting, increased
amounts of blood clots also form in the brain causes strokes. Again, the breaking of the mucus

Why Did The Patriots Win The Revolutionary War
On october 19, 1781 the British army surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia. Although the treaty had yet
to be signed, American independence had been accomplished. The Patriots had pulled off the most
improvable upset by defeating the most powerful military of the day. Although the British had more
troops, were highly trained, had more supplies, and a strong navy, the Patriots prevailed. Under the
leadership of George Washingtonalong with technological advancements in weaponry, aid from
foreign allies, new fighting techniques, coupled with medical innovations and an extensive spy

Peter Singer s How To Find Fulfilling Career
Everyone would like to have a meaningful work. In the past, people did not attach great
importance to find a fulfilling career, because they were busy earning money to support their
families. In their mind, they worked only because they had to. People did not pay much attention
to the meaning of their careers. In chapter 2 A Short History of CareerConfusion is from How to
Find Fulfilling Work by Roman Krznaric, the author argues that finding the meaningful career is
challenging because people have too much choice now. Some people are stuck in jobs that they do
not like. Others spend a long time finding their favorite work through experiences. Here are four
strategies that can help you find fulfilling career. Although some people think that... Show more

Today, in factories, offices and other workplaces, the details may be different but the overall

(1). Some people make a difference. In How To Find Fulfilling Work, the moral philosopher
Peter Singer writes, He argues that our greatest hope for personal fulfillment is dedicating our
lives and if possible our working lives...especially an ethical one such as animal rights, poverty
alleviation or environmental justice (67). Make a difference is a good way to find a fulfilling
career. Not only do people make a positive contribution to people and society, but people also
reflect their values. They can gradually sense day to day the influence of their work upon an
audience from their heart. For example, my dad is a bank teller. Not only is he interested in
finance, but he also likes to help others in need. That motivates him to work well every day.
Some people think that this job is repetitive and boring. However, my dad enjoys it. He told me a
meaningful experience. One day, an old man told my dad that he lost his pass book. He felt so
worried and had no idea what to do next. He almost cried and told my dad that the pass book saved
all money. Then my dad calmed down him and helped him find his pass book. He tried his best to
apply for a simple and quick way to solve the problem. Finally, and old man felt grateful for my dad
s help. Making a difference is necessary for us to reflect our values and help others in need. It
enriches our life experience. In addition, it enables us to make a difference to other people. We can

William Shakespeare s King Henry Iv
Since the start of civilization, leaders have pondered over the qualities that makeup an honorable
and legitimate ruler. In William Shakespeare s play King Henry IV Part One the audience must
decide what makes an honorable leader. Throughout the play the main characters, King Henry,
Prince Harry, Hotspur, and even Falstaff, help the audience realize what makes up an honorable
leader for others to follow. The first character that William Shakespeare wants the audience to look
at is King Henry. Henry represents the truth and goodness of the kingdom that he commands. There
is some speculation as to how he became King, and rather or not he is the true King of the country.
King Henry can be compared to United States President s Andrew Jackson or Abraham Lincoln.
King Henry holds the country together despite parts of his country forming a rebellion against him.
Henry is showing the importance of a strong and powerful ruler, just like Andrew Jackson the
nullification crisis of 1836, or Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War
. Andrew Jackson told
his Vice President John C. Calhoun, That the Union must be preserved. Meaning that the country is
more important than the individual state or person. Abraham Lincoln helped lead America through
one of the most difficult periods of American history. All three of these leaders show a strong mind
and a focus on preserving a unified country no matter the stakes. The next character that
Shakespeare introduces to the audience is Prince

Jam-Packing The Room With Sound Analysis
The beginning of this poem is about how much the speaker likes loud music. For example the
speaker says the speakers throbbing which means the music from the speaker has a strong rhythm.
This is an Aural imagery. Jam packing the room with sound whether Bach or rock and roll means
to crowd to capacity the room with sound. Another phrase is the volume cranked up so each bass

stanza is about the speaker. She likes to stepdaughter disagreement. The stepdaughter is four years

Cover of A Raisin in the Sun
Hansberry used the success of A Raisin In the Sun as a platform to speak out for the American
Civil Rights Movement and for the African struggle to free itself from white rule. She helped raise
money, gave impassioned speeches and took part in panels and interviews to further these causes.
After her initial success she lived only six years and was able to complete only one more play, a
movie and a television script which was too racially controversial to be aired. Her second play,
The Sign in Sidney Brustein s Window, was received with mixed reviews and kept open for 101
performances only by the contributions and support of the theatre community. It closed the night
she died at 34 from cancer. After her death Nemiroff finished and produced her final work, Les
Blancs, a play about African liberation.
Hansberry had begun to claim her identity as a lesbian in a 1957 letter to a lesbian periodical, The

Methylcyclohexane Lab Report
Arenes 5. Introduction In this experiment, the relative rates of free radical chain bromination
where determined. Five arenes were used for this comparison along with two controls for each
set. One set was kept in the dark while the other was put under light. This allowed for better
observation of the reactions, as the light set would proceed fast to show which arenes reacted
slowest, while the dark set would proceed slowly to show relative differences between the faster
reacting arenes. The time it took for the arenes to react was recorded to determine the relative rates
of the reactions. 6. Data and Results The five arenes used for this experiment were toluene,
ethylbenzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. All solutions were a dark
orange right after the addition of bromine. Toluene had 1Вє benzylic and 2Вє aromatic hydrogens.
Ethylbenzene had 2Вє benzylic, 1Вє aliphatic, and 2Вє aromatic hydrogens. tert butylbenzene had

methylcyclohexane had 1Вє, 2Вє, and 3Вє aliphatic hydrogens. In the set that was exposed to light,

The Holocaust, And Art Spiegelman s Night And Maus
The word Holocaust refers to the mass murder of 6 million European Jews by the German Nazi
regime during World War II. It began in 1933 and ended in 1945. The ruler of Germany during
this time was Adolf Hitler. He and the Nazis put the Jew in concentration camps, where thousands
were killed everyday. This was one of the worst if not the worst genocides in history. Many books
have been written to document survivors testimony of this horrific event. Elie Wieselshares his
story and Art Spiegelman shares his father s story in the books Night and Maus. Comparisons can
be drawn between Maus and Night through the author s purpose for writing , the survivor s
experiences, and the author s perspective.
Elie Wiesel s reason for writing Night was personal, but it was also to keep the world aware of
the damage that was caused. He is a messenger to mankind , the nobel peace committee had said
as they gave him the prize. Elie doesn t want history to repeat itself. The best way to do that is
for the world to know what happened and learn from their mistakes. The personal half of his
reason was that Elie wanted to protect his child. My son changed me. Once you bring a life into
this world, you must protect it by changing the world. These were Elie Wiesel s own words. One
of Art Spiegelman s reasons was almost the same. He was eager to share his father s story with
the world. At the beginning of Maus I, Art describes how he asked his father over and over to tell
him his story. This

The Current State of the CHinese Economic System
The current state of the Chinese economic system has drawn international attention and praise due
to its overwhelmingly positive statistical growth. This growth, according to the nation s leader,
stems from what its government calls strides toward common prosperity. As of 2013, China s
leaders proclaim to be moving toward a state of theoretical consciousness. In China, consistency and

has created a fertile ground for socialism to grow. A recent documentary composed by a

Analysis Of The Book Opens With Carruthers
The novel opens with Carruthers, a British Foreign Office employee, recalling the many invitations
extended to him during his stay in London. Unfortunately, in his arrogance, the man turned down
the majority of invitations, only to find himself with nowhere to go. This pushes Carruthers to
consider the unappealing invitation of his old acquaintance Davies. Davies has invited Carruthers
on a yachting journey filled with sailing and duck hunting, across the North Seaand into the Baltic,
towards the Frisian Islands, right off the coast of Germany. Carruthers arrives to find a rather
small vessel with no crew present. He quickly realizes that this is no relaxing vacation after all.
While Davies shows him the ropes, Carruthers tries his best to help sail the Ducibella. As they
travel across the sea, they encounter beautiful scenery and even other sailors. Eventually, Davies
tells Carruthers about his previous journey through the Frisian Islands. He reveals that a German
barge yacht, owned by a man named Dollmann, had baited the Ducibella onto a shoal in a
troublesome sea that surely would have caused the small yacht to perish, if not for a small channel
and the Bartels. Davies finishes his story in a mode of inquiry; he cannot figure out the motivation
behind Dollmann s behavior. He comes to the conclusion that Dollmann must be an Englishman
and a spy, due to his actions, looks, and Davies analyses of the channels. Davies proceeds to lay
out Dollmann s possible route and tells

In June 2009, the Chinese authorities announced a plan to implement a new piece of software
called Green Dam Youth Escort , under the premise that it would protect underage web users
from accessing pornographic content. However, experts stated that the software can also be used
to block internet sites for political reasons, including any information regarding Tibet or the
Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989. The Chinese authorities hope that by continuing to censor
internet content, they will be able to keep its people in the dark about the true face of the Chinese
Government. China currently employs 30,000 internet police to monitor and crack down on any
dissent in people s e mails or on websites, and said that it aimed to have all PCs built and used in
China equipped with Green Dam Youth Escort by 1 July 2009.
However, after widespread criticism of the plan, the Chinese Government reportedly backed down
over Green Dam s implementation, making the software optional. Opposition to the software was
rife on the internet and public opinion in and outside China seems to have had an impact after the
blacklist of keyword topics which Green Dam blocks was leaked on the internet. The list included
references to Falun Gong and Tiananmen Square, despite government assurances that it was to be
used to block pornographic material. The

Analysis on Atheism
To be honest with you I think some of McCloskey questions of the existence of God are based
and as a Christian I know I have questioned the existence of God at one point in my life. I had to
really learn the hard way. From the article one can see that McCloskey is trying very hard to
dismiss every claim of the theistic view. From the videos on blackboard, when someone decides to
prove something or someone, then that means there is certainty and assurance that thing is
absolutely true. The truth of the matter is that we cannot prove one hundred percent of the existence
of Godand that is why an Atheist like McCloskey would say that without evidence then there is no
God. McCloskey try s his best to scientifically prove that the creation of... Show more content on

I believe that every argument is defeasible. I think that the reason that McCloskey is saying this
is because he is arguing the God of the bible and not the minimalistic ideal of God. Everyone is
entitled to believe what he or she wants to believe, he saying that the cosmological argument, does
not entitle us to an all powerful and all perfect God but that still does not disvalue the rational of
there being a God in the first place and I believe that makes his statement meaningless in disproving
the necessity and presence of God.
When it comes to the teleological argument, McCloskey also claims that the teleological argument
lacks premises due to similar reasons as the cosmological argument. In short both arguments do not
prove God as a designer. In his mind, this argument is faulty because it does not show enough
evidence for the existence of God. What he means when he argues for a genuine indisputable
example of design of the universe is that he desired to see obvious proof for the existence of God.
He disagrees with the fact that it is impossible to proof something with one hundred evidence. In
Evans and Manis, when they talk about some noticeable evidences that prove the existence of God
in Philosophy of religion, they said that the way in which nature and the universe is organized and
structured there must be a

Seventh Circle In Dante s Inferno
Drew Anderson
ELA 12
Dante
In The Inferno by Dante Alighieri, Dante is led down through hell by the ancient poet Virgil. As
he descends through hell he progressively sees people who committed worse and worse crimes.
Because of this we are able to see into the mind of Dante; and therefore, understand his thoughts on
the volatility of the crimes committed. Personally I believe because of Dante being screwed in his
own life plus the many backward thoughts of the time; Dante is much too harsh on humanity and
he sends far too many people to hell.
Dante s first circle is called Limbo. Limbo is just on the cusp of hell. People in Dante s limbo are
not tortured and crying out they are just sighing because they lack hope of a better life. No
tortured wailing rose to greet us here but sounds of sighing rose from every side. (canto IV) Limbo

The seventh circle is for those who were violent. This includes people where violent against
themselves because those violent against themselves denied their human form they are shown as
trees in The Inferno, Puzzled I broke off a thorn: and the great trunk of it cried out. (canto 13 pg.
120) The eighth circle is for people who claimed to be prophets but weren t, people who stole,
people who lie, and people who seduced others. The final circle of hell is for four men, Satan who
betrayed god, Judas who betrayed Christ, and for those who betrayed Caesar.
Dante ranks sins very differently than I would as well. Personally I believe he is much too harsh.
I believe that limbo, heresy, and a portion of the lustful should not even be on the list. Limbo
should be removed because these people did not even have a chance to make it to heaven. Heresy
should be removed because most protestants were indoctrinated into their religion and really never
had a choice in what religion they were. People who were lustful but did not commit adultery
should not be sent to

Cultural, Cultural And Culture, Culture And Cultural...
Italy Cultural Awareness
Culture gets defined as the shared behavior that usually exists within a given group of people, and
is known to have learned and develop with time through socialization in the families, social groups,
and schools. This group of people has to reach an agreement for that culture to exist. Culture
awareness, therefore is the understanding that someone has about the difference between
themselves and other groups of people from other countries or even other backgrounds. It could be
differences regarding their behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, norms and their values. Different people do
things in a particular way; they view the world in various manners and even react to things in a
variety of ways (Whittaker, A. 2010 ). Culture awareness in Italy is the focus of this paper.
Broadly discussed, Italian culture entails, arts, family issues, food, architecture, and music. Although
other ethnicities live in this country, it becomes known that about 96% of Italy is composed of
Italians. The country s official language is Italian, and majority speaks it as their primary language.
The Italian family became viewed as a significant value. Most dwell in extended families rather than
the nuclear family who are only composed of father, mother, and children. The families gather for
multiple occasions throughout the year, and even more for no special occasion at all except to be
with one another, this tradition continues on with their children and their children s

Violence and Nursery Rhymes
Violence in Nursery Rhymes
Nursery rhymes, fables and fairy tales have always been a part of childhood. They usually have
some type of moral meaning or happy ending. Initially, most of these rhymes and stories were not
meant for children, lots of them mocked the history of politics or they revealed abuse toward
children. Women also received their share of violencein some of the cute little jingles. For example;
Peter Peter pumpkin eater
Had a wife and couldn t keep her
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well!
My analysis of Peter and his wife builds a classic case of intimate partner violence. Peter must have
an addiction to pumpkins which I believe is symbolic for something else; drugs, alcohol, gambling,

The neglect and abuse may have led to death of the children.
Neglect has happened in the past but it strongly remains in the present. Nadya Suleman is
fighting back against the media s characterization of her and the claims of child neglect that put
the controversial mother of 14 back in the headlines this week (Abbie Boudreau. ABC News).
There are many reasons for neglect; alcohol and drug abuse, inadequate parenting skill, financial
difficulties , mental issues, and lack of a support system. Even though neglect, physical and
sexual abuse is not tolerated or favored, there was a time when it was accepted, practiced, looked
over and sometimes encouraged. These behaviors and actions are being taught in the form of sing
long s , however the words, in most rhymes, have been changed to kid friendly terms.

A nurse is working in an obstetric department and caring for women immediately after delivery. Her
patient has recently delivered an infant who was diagnosed with Down syndrome or trisomy 21.
While doing her morning care, the mother was very upset and asked for more information on what
that diagnosis means for her child.
Down syndrome is a congenital birth defect, meaning that it can be seen at the time of birth.

Trisomy 21 is an aneuploidy congenital disorder. This means that the cell had an abnormal number

Maternal age seems to be the biggest correlation between babies having the disorder. Once you
know you are pregnant there is nothing you can do to prevent the baby from getting the disorder.
Conclusion
There is nothing you can really do to prevent a child from getting Trisomy 21, besides
encouraging women to have children at an earlier age. When the body ages the women s eggs also
age causing problems with meiosis within the egg. This being said, no mother should feel guilty
about her child getting the disorder.

The Issue Of Animal Welfare
Nobody can ignore the pain and suffering of another without feeling some type of sympathy and or
guilt. This is why when presenting the issue of animal welfare, most if not all will lean toward the
humane treatment of livestock. However, there is nothing humane about skinning, chopping up,
and serving a living creature to other living creature. Agencies such as the United States Department
of Agriculture(USDA) can t fret over mental and physical conditions of the animals if they have to
focus on feeding over 320 million people in the U.S.. There are a concrete set of principles that
enables companies to produce foodin any manner that will guarantee mass production of safe
(edible) food at a low cost, with no concern on what conditions the livestockare in. This barrier
protecting these companies would be difficult to amend without igniting a series of issue of the
structure of our society.
Throughout history, technological innovations in agriculture has been almost a direct effect of
increase in human population. However, in the past we never had to put some sort of ruling in
place to justify how we farm our livestock and obtain food. Farmers have recently found a new
innovation in agriculture technology that involves modifying the genetics of an animal. This
process is profitable for the production companies, but are harmful towards animals and at
sometimes harmful to the consumer. This technology brings a whole new meaning to the use of
artificial selection. Both the

Acehnese Genocide Research Paper
The Acehnese people experienced a history of attempted colonization and occupation, first from the
Dutch, then the Japanese, it was not until the Indonesian people united was the idea of
independence recognized. However, for the Acehnese people unification was only the means to
achieve impendence and they intended to be an autonomous region separate from that of Indonesia.
That dream was unfortunately not realized as the Indonesian government of Jakarta had other
ideas, and wished to pursue centralization towards a unified state. In order to appease the Acehnese
people the region was granted somewhat of a special region status until the 1950s when it was
officially incorporated into the North Sumatra province. Much of the Aceh history is filled with
violence and tension and despite some governmental change the region still experiences a greater
amount of tension and conflict than other areas within Indonesia. When the subject of the matter is
internal conflicts, identifying key causes of the conflict is difficult when not knowing all the facts.
For many other observers, including those from the Government of Indonesia (GOI), the conflict
arises due to particular grievances in Acehnese society about economic, human rights, religious and
other issues. Acehnese nationalists are apt to downplay grievances and... Show more content on

Tips On Choosing A Wordpress Theme
Tips on Choosing a WordPress Theme Choose Your Layout
When you sit down to construct your first WordPress website or blog you have a very big
decision to make immediately, and that s choosing a theme. This is probably the first thing you will
do after you install the software, and its major because your theme, or layout, is the first thing your
readers will see. Your theme represents you, and your goal is to make it as appealing as possible.
People will make an instant judgement as to the quality and value of your website as soon as
they land on your home page. Your header image should relay the message and purpose of your
website. Your navigation bar should be user intuitive, and the color scheme should be soft and
warm so you don t scare people off.
All of this is made easy if you have chosen the best possible theme for your product or service.
Lets learn a little about themes and then take a look at some tips on choosing your best possible
WordPress theme.
Look And Feel
Keep in mind that themes are simply the look , and to some degree, feel of your website. Your
theme is like the outside of your house; what people see first. It can have nice window dressing,
pretty colors, fancy decorative brick and an overall pleasant appeal. If people like what they see
they will enter, or (click) around and stay for a visit. This is what you want to keep your visitors in
the house. And, it all starts by having the right theme.
So start with an appealing theme and combine

The Pros And Cons Of Nazi Medical Experiments
During Hitler s mass killing of about six million, Nazis imprisoned many Jews and other races they
thought inferior to them in concentration camps. Within the walls of these camps, the Nazi doctors
had many opportunities to experiment on the prisoners at the camp in various ways. During the
Holocaust, the Nazis performed many different medical experiments on the prisoners at the
concentration camps which proved to lacerate and scar the victims of the medical experiment.
One type of experiment that the Nazis performed on the prisoners of the concentration camps could
fall into the classification of twin experiments. These experiments dealt with twins going through
examination and observation. Taken for examination, the twins entered the concentration camps for
three days of what must have been psychological examination and three days of laboratory
experiments ( The Holocaust: Nazi Medical Experiments , 1998). During these three days when the
experiments took place, the doctors photographed the twins to compare features between the twins.
After the twins went through examination and the process of photographing, Mengele and his
collaborators dispatched them with a single injection of chloroform to the heart, (Tyson, 2000).
Mengele conducted most of the twin experiments at the Auschwitz camp because he found twins
very intriguing, so he dedicated his time to their experiments. During and after the injection, care
was taken to ensure the twins died at the same time. The

Winton also addresses the impact of regionalism and cultural up bringing. Biggie has been raised in

labour in the meatworks or the cannery . Through first person narrative and vivid sensual imagery,
Winton expresses the influence of Australian regionalised culture, and the negative impacts it has
on youth, limiting their opportunities in life.
The importance and value of extended family and family heritage/ memories in Saed s work is
represented by descriptive language, personification and motifs. Saed tells the story of the healing
nature of sharing traumatic memories after hers and her extended family s traumatic experiences.

Arthur Andersen Case Study
Arthur Andersen Co. was founded in Chicago by Arthur Andersen, a young Northwestern
University professor and his partner, Clarence DeLany in 1913 but, DeLany left the partnership in
1918 so the firm s name was changed to Arthur Andersen and Company. (Encyclopedia of Chicago,
2005) Thus, Andersen began as a pioneer accounting firm who offered customers help with new
federal income taxes and other accounting problems and its first client was the Joseph Schlitz
Brewing Company of Milwaukee. Unfortunately Arthur Andersenpassed away in 1947, but the firm
s leadership was passed to Leonard Spacek.
Nevertheless, Mr. Spacek shaped the firm into a genuine international company and during his 26
year term (1947 1973), the firm s client base rose from 2,300 to 50,000. Still, the company became
increasingly involved in providing consulting services in the 1970s and in 1988, the Arthur
Andersen Co. (AA Co.) was the largest consulting firm in the world. By this time, I had joined the
firm as a Senior Executive Assistant and in 1989 after years of disharmony; the firm was split into
two companies, AA Co. (accounting services) and Andersen Consulting (consulting services).
Although these entities were financially separate, they were governed by Switzerland based Arthur

General information about the community, the idiom and its degree of endangerment Ainu people have lived upon southern part of Kamchatka peninsula since very long ago (estimation of time when Ainu came to Kamchatka can differ seriously depending on particular approaches of different archaeologists/anthropologists, but anyway everybody agrees that Ainu already were upon Kamchatka by 12th century AD). The dialect is rather close to the dialects of Eastern Hokkaido, especially to that of Kushiro/Shiranuka. The idiom was first recorded by Stepan Petrovich Krasheninnikov who managed his field researches in 1737 1741; and the last recording was managed by Benedykt Dybowski who travelled to Kamchatka in 1877 1883.... • 3. Comparison Between Different Enterprise Architecture... 4.1 Comparison of Different Enterprise Architecture Frameworks A number of EA frameworks exist in the industry with the goal of addressing the basic challenge of assessing, aligning, and organizing business objectives with technical requirements and strategies. Examples include the Zachman Enterprise Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), OMB Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), and The Gartner Methodology (formerly the Meta Framework). Each framework possesses different strengths and weaknesses, which makes it difficult to find any one existing framework that is ideal for all situations. The following chart depicts how four Enterprise Architecture Frameworks compare. 4.2 How to Solve the Problem? To touch lightly on value, there are multiple levels of value and it is one of the most difficult things to measure as it contains both quantitative and qualitative aspects. Quality How do we improve the quality of our information? Risk Containment How to we control and reduce organisational risks? Stakeholder Value How do we improve our value to our stakeholders? • 6. Essay On The American Identity The American Identity Americans have not only defined themselves by their religious, ethnic and racial identity, but also by their individual freedom and common values. America has become a nation where its people can fight for what they believe in. Our founding fathers have formed America to be the land of the free and the home of the brave . Being apart of the American culture and living on the land founded by our leaders specifies the meaning of the American Identity. In my opinion, the American Identity is shown through the ideas of its people, and their willingness to take risks. The creation of The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were two ideas shown through the people. Americans were willing to take risks no matter the circumstances. Intelligence is a good way to define the American identity. A Constitution like ours has never been created before, but they drew on the ideas of other philosophers and political scientists. It was written to make fundamental laws and to regulate the basic rights of its citizens. With the creation of the government/constitution, they also created a couple of different plans. They created The Virginia Plan and The New Jersey Plan. The Virginia plan is a bicameral (2 house) congress, but votes are based off population and wealth. On the other side, The New Jersey Plan is a small state, unicameral (1 house) congress, but every state has one vote. Since both plans were different in certain ways a compromise was formed. The ... • 7. The Concept Of Collaboration Within The Organization Introduction Interagency collaboration is the modern concept of collaboration in which different organization within and outside of government work together towards a common objective. Collaboration involves all the organizations and agencies in the advancement of the common agenda, and it has been the real catalyst for development (Finn Kohler, 2009). Different programs have been initiated to ensure that agencies can collaborate and work together to enhance social, economic and political development. Agencies can collaborate at different levels ranging from exchange of information, coordination, cooperation and collaboration and all the levels of collaboration focus on working together to achieve common objectives (Noonan Morningstar, 2008). At the basic level, the issue of collaboration has no single comprehensive definition, but generally, it refers to the joint action in different organizations in an effort to articulate for a common objective. Inter agency collaboration aims to bring together agencies, service providers, and workforces to form temporary of long lasting partnerships that can enable sharing of resources to reduce the overall costs for program implementation and increase efficiency. Interagency collaboration is the only approach to enhance sharing of duties and responsibilities in program implementation. The study aims to show the collaboration between the Illinois Community College Board and the Division of Humans capital development to improve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Woman In Black Analysis How does the author make the first encounter with the Woman in Black particularly ominous? The author, Susan Hill, makes the first encounter with the Woman in Black distinctly foreboding by her use of description, sound and Mr Kipps s apparent innocence. The Woman in Black is described as suffering from some terrible wasting disease which makes her skin only the thinnest layer of flesh [...] strained across her bones . Immediately, the reader is given some clue about her health. It seems, from the description, that she is on the verge of death. This association with death instantly makes the representation of the Womanin Black creepier. Phrases like sunken back and gaunt with disease are used to warn the reader and stop them pitying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most people tend to pray at funerals, particularly in the Victorian era when religion was a highly significant part of people s lives. She is also quite late, arriving halfway to the end of it and then disappearing before the cortГЁge. There is also the obvious factor that it seemed particularly strange that a woman who was perhaps only a short time away from her own death, should drag herself to the funeral of another . To a reader, this seems decidedly minatory, since it is incredibly unlikely that someone about to breathe their last would go to Mrs Drablow s burial, especially as Mrs Drablow was known for having no close friends or family and the only other people at her funeral (besides the Parson) were her solicitors. Lastly, on the off chance she just didn t have a prayer book and actually was Mrs Drablow s long lost relative or forgotten friend, as Mr Kipps clearly believed, she disappeared with a slight rustle of clothing . Finally, there is Mr Kipps s reaction to his first encounter with the Woman in Black. Of course he didn t know she was the Woman in Black; instead he saw her as a young woman who was about to die but kind enough to see her friend off. Indeed, he vowed to speak to her [to see if he] could be of any assistance . Susan Hill makes him pity the Woman in Black, yet warns the reader with short sentences like Nor did she look old , followed by abnormally long sentences, joined together with three or four commas, as if contradicting Mr Kipps s earlier thoughts in a way that can only be interpreted fully by the ... The Frighteners directed by Peter Jackson and co written with his wife, Fran Walsh. A lot of people don t know that Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh conceived the idea for The Frighteners during the script writing phase of Heavenly Creatures. The Frighteners was a spin off film of to the television series, Tales from the Crypt. But after Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh s first draft it was agreed that the script would be better of as a movie than a tv series The visual effects were created by Jackson s Weta Digital, which had only been in existence for three years. And the fact that The Frighteners required more digital effects shots than almost any movie made until that time, resulted in the eighteen month period for effects work by Weta Digital being largely stressed. Despite a rushed post production schedule, Universal was so impressed with Jackson s rough cut on The Frighteners, the studio moved the theatrical release date closer by four months. The film was not a box office success, but received generally positive reviews from critics. Despite its lackluster performance at the box office, the film has gained a cult following in more recent years. The Frighteners is also Fox s last leading role in a live action feature film; Fox then went on to a four year run on the television series Spin City before semi retiring in 2000 due to the effects of ... Brazilian Jiu Jitsu One day at a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym, a newer white belt was feeling overwhelmed with the many techniques involved with the martial art and was wondering if there is an infinite amount of techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He thought about the fact that it takes, on average, roughly ten years for a person to achieve a black belt and knowing this, he started to believe that there is not an infinite amount of techniques and the list of moves is just finite. He still wasn t sure so he decided to ask his black belt instructor. The advanced skills that it took to become an adult black belt 20 years ago is being taught to children today as the art has evolved through the years and will continue to evolve due to the adaptation to the evolution. Each black belt has an infinite skill potential too, and this is dependent on an individual level. It all depends on how many days they train a week, the different training partners they have and the experiences they bring, and even experimentation of the art. This means that each black belt s infinite skill potential is different and has a different cardinality compared to the rest. There is no way to create an infinite one to one correspondence between any of them. The only one to one pairing that can possibly be made will have to be a finite one that is paired all the way up to achieving the coveted black belt. • 16. A Brief Note On Parking At Grand Valley The $260 Difference: Parking at Grand Valley As I was growing up I remember how excited I was for my sixteenth birthday. I would finally receive my license and I would be able to drive the gold Pontiac G6 that sat in my driveway for three months prior to my birthday. I was looking forward to driving myself to school. At that time I was unaware that my high school required a parking permit in order to have a car parked in their lot. Parking permits were $100 for the year, which seemed outrageous since there were more than enough spots for every student and the parking lot was recently repaved. As I grew even older and decided to come to college, I realized that parking on campus was going to be $360 for a full year. Luckily, I had enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In all of those expenses, parking is not included and is just another added fee. On top of that a few schools in Michigan charge under $180/semester. For example, Northern Michigan University chargers $140/semester, Aquinas College charges $150 a semester, Ferris State charges $170/year and Michigan State charges $290/year. As a college student, I don t understand why Grand Valley s price for parking permits is so much higher than other schools. It seems like every other year the price increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to $180 per semester in May of 2014, according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand the need for the extra cost for parking, there are some students who do not realize the importance of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP has this fee for parking is due to the limited number of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400 parking spots between the Allendale and Pew campuses (Garringer). With 25,094 students enrolled that is only enough parking for 45% of students. Although not all students have cars at school, that reason alone is not enough for parking permits to be at such a high price. Some of the students who purchased a parking permit aren t aware of what that money is funding and don t understand why the price is so high. Some students are misled about where the money from the parking permits is actually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social psychology is the science that aims to determine how people think about, relate to, feel about, and influence one another. Social psychology is a branch of study on social influence, how individuals have an influence on one another. Social influence is noted to affect trivial behaviours, such as making paper airplanes in class, as well as important behaviour, such as giving in to majority opinion over one s judgement. It is an attempt to understand and lay down how thought, behaviour, feeling of a person is affected by the actual, implied, imagined, presence of other people. Forest dates in particular are thought of as elephant dependent, since the seed develops superiorly after going through an elephant s system and moreover, the decline of elephantpopulations in West African rain forests in Upper Guinea is correlated with forestdate population declines [4]. Policies need to be put into place to effectively change the management of these tropical forest inhabitants. One option of policy that I strongly recommend would be to change the logging and deforestation rates along with a different structural aspect to the process. An idea by the Biodiversity of West African Forests explains that, Many large animals have large home ranges as a result of fragmentation of forest, the resulting forest patches may be too small to sustain a viable animal population. Thus for effective protection of plant species and their related animals sizeable forest tracts are needed. An alternative is a combination of smaller patches connected to each other with corridors, forming ecological networks [6]. These networks would link the forest reserves and other cataloged forests. This type of networking strategy is needed so that the passageways can be used as linkages for both animals and plants to travel throughout more land area so that they can maintain ... • 20. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines And The Equal Protection... Women are twice as likely as men to avoid incarceration if convicted of a crime. Whether or not this is fair, though, is highly debated. Some politicians argue that women s prisons be abolished all together, while Men s Rights Activists push for equal sentencing for comparable crimes. It has been proven that judges tend to give women less time in prison, or no incarceration at all, and the reasons for this support the imbalance in sentencing. Though many view women s tendency to receive lighter punishments as unfair, it is justified that women receive this treatment because of legal rules that surround the subject, the statistics that show women commit less serious and violent crimes, and how women being incarcerated impacts those around them. Laws like the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and the Equal Protection Clause were created to allow equal sentencing and treatment for all, but have proven to allow for women to be given lighter sentences. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines are designed to encourage the uniform and proportional treatment of defendants based on legally relevant factors (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). What has evolved to be legally relevant though, does not include gender. The guidelines allow for some discretion through the use of departures, which enable factors such as family ties and responsibilities to be considered (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). • 25. Stereotypes Of African American Women During The Civil War A closer study at Mammy , the quintessential Southern African American nanny, as the core icon of African American womanhood, during the Civil War, particularly in films, who has figured prominently on memory, reveals that her depiction and characteristics skewed the collective and individual memory of the role of real African American women, such as Harriet Tubman. This powerful figure in Southern households created stereotyped images of African Americanwomen slaves, i.e. Gone with the Wind (1939), allowing audiences to believe this to be an accurate depiction of African American women rather than recognizing the major contributions they made in the Civil War. The stereotype overshadowed the real efforts and work of African American women, both enslaved and freed; and left a false image which affected women then and now. Particularly, in Civil War era films, African American women were predominantly shown as having a robust figure, a constant smile, and a happy disposition, i.e. mammies. By the time the flood of Civil War features began in 1908, these racist cliches were set in stone (Chadwick 80). The archetype of Mammy became a stereotype created by white producers in an effort to portray African American women in a more pleasing light, to satisfy white audiences. Filmmakers actions created an intensified racial stereotype and instilled a false image of African Americans. Five arenes were used for this comparison along with two controls for each set. One set was kept in the dark while the other was put under light. This allowed for better observation of the reactions, as the light set would proceed fast to show which arenes reacted slowest, while the dark set would proceed slowly to show relative differences between the faster reacting arenes. The time it took for the arenes to react was recorded to determine the relative rates of the reactions. 6. In the letter from a Concerned Mother, the text stated, Just like athletes or musicians whose parents attend all their practices, kids whose parents volunteer in their classrooms know they have someone cheering for them every step of the way. This is significant because the concerned mother, who has experience because in her letter she noted that she had a son, strongly believes that the encouragement of parents will improve their grades. • 37. The Holocaust, And Art Spiegelman s Night And Maus The word Holocaust refers to the mass murder of 6 million European Jews by the German Nazi regime during World War II. It began in 1933 and ended in 1945. The ruler of Germany during this time was Adolf Hitler. He and the Nazis put the Jew in concentration camps, where thousands were killed everyday. This was one of the worst if not the worst genocides in history. Many books have been written to document survivors testimony of this horrific event. Elie Wieselshares his story and Art Spiegelman shares his father s story in the books Night and Maus. Comparisons can be drawn between Maus and Night through the author s purpose for writing , the survivor s experiences, and the author s perspective. Elie Wiesel s reason for writing Night was personal, but it was also to keep the world aware of the damage that was caused. He is a messenger to mankind , the nobel peace committee had said as they gave him the prize. Elie doesn t want history to repeat itself. The best way to do that is for the world to know what happened and learn from their mistakes. The personal half of his reason was that Elie wanted to protect his child. My son changed me. Once you bring a life into this world, you must protect it by changing the world. These were Elie Wiesel s own words. One of Art Spiegelman s reasons was almost the same. He was eager to share his father s story with the world. At the beginning of Maus I, Art describes how he asked his father over and over to tell him his story. This ... The Current State of the CHinese Economic System The current state of the Chinese economic system has drawn international attention and praise due to its overwhelmingly positive statistical growth. This growth, according to the nation s leader, stems from what its government calls strides toward common prosperity. As of 2013, China s leaders proclaim to be moving toward a state of theoretical consciousness. In China, consistency and persistence is promoted over spontaneity within the confines of a sound economic structure, which has created a fertile ground for socialism to grow. A recent documentary composed by a conglomerate of media outlets, depicts the current economic landscape of China. Its story unravels to present the growing city of Shanghaias progressive, oppressive, and modern; yet, its growth has been rooted in older communist practices, given to much economic success and an uncertain future ( City of Dreams ). The changes that have taken place in modern China since the late 1970 s has grown its economy to unprecedented ends, and by unprecedented means. The transformation into an industrialized capitalistic society has catapulted its development into an uncharted realm, prompting much discussion on its future impact on the world at large. Unfortunately, in his arrogance, the man turned down the majority of invitations, only to find himself with nowhere to go. This pushes Carruthers to consider the unappealing invitation of his old acquaintance Davies. Davies has invited Carruthers on a yachting journey filled with sailing and duck hunting, across the North Seaand into the Baltic, towards the Frisian Islands, right off the coast of Germany. Carruthers arrives to find a rather small vessel with no crew present. He quickly realizes that this is no relaxing vacation after all. While Davies shows him the ropes, Carruthers tries his best to help sail the Ducibella. As they travel across the sea, they encounter beautiful scenery and even other sailors. Eventually, Davies tells Carruthers about his previous journey through the Frisian Islands. He reveals that a German barge yacht, owned by a man named Dollmann, had baited the Ducibella onto a shoal in a troublesome sea that surely would have caused the small yacht to perish, if not for a small channel and the Bartels. Davies finishes his story in a mode of inquiry; he cannot figure out the motivation behind Dollmann s behavior. He comes to the conclusion that Dollmann must be an Englishman and a spy, due to his actions, looks, and Davies analyses of the channels. From the videos on blackboard, when someone decides to prove something or someone, then that means there is certainty and assurance that thing is absolutely true. I think that the reason that McCloskey is saying this is because he is arguing the God of the bible and not the minimalistic ideal of God. Everyone is entitled to believe what he or she wants to believe, he saying that the cosmological argument, does not entitle us to an all powerful and all perfect God but that still does not disvalue the rational of there being a God in the first place and I believe that makes his statement meaningless in disproving the necessity and presence of God. When it comes to the teleological argument, McCloskey also claims that the teleological argument lacks premises due to similar reasons as the cosmological argument. In short both arguments do not prove God as a designer. In his mind, this argument is faulty because it does not show enough evidence for the existence of God. What he means when he argues for a genuine indisputable example of design of the universe is that he desired to see obvious proof for the existence of God. He disagrees with the fact that it is impossible to proof something with one hundred evidence.
