The dark sky is illuminated by the faint outline of the clouds. Just enough light to see the bright
glowing ring of the humanoids as you pass; but not enough to see the white shiny exterior that would

Like without knowing, he has created a barrier between himself and his daughter through his work.
The only time Emily sees him is in the mornings before work and when he gets home late at night.
Both of which only consist of an hour or so. In the mornings, as Bruce leaves early, Mr Helper is
responsible to drop off and pick up Emily from school. Every day without fail he is there. Waiting
patiently outside the school gate, always on time, never once late. As Emily thought more and more
about this on her way home from school, she came to realize that Mr Helper was and has always been
there for her ever since they meet five years ago. Emily thought long and hard about this,
remembering the times where Mr Helper was always there with her, sharing every moment. Thinking
back to the time when she first lost her tooth at five or played her first hockey game, Mr Helper was
there. Knowing her memory was not great, she still vividly remembers when all those promises were
broken. All of the times when her father promised to watch her hockey games or teach her how to ride
her bike, not one of them kept, all of them

The Themes Of Marvel Comics And DC Comics
Marvel Comics and DC Comics were both founded in the 1930 s as, naturally, comic book publishers.
Today they form 70% of the comic book market. By 2016, that market as a whole had hit a record
high of $1.085B in both physical and digital comic book sales (Johnston, 2016) (Comichron, 2016).
Some of the highest selling comic series currently in print have strong NCC themes. These include DC
s Batman and Marvel s The Punisher series.
Batman or Bruce Wayne, is a bat themed vigilante that carries out what he considers to be justice
within the corrupt, crime infested Gotham City. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016) (DC Comics, 2017). Bruce
Wayne is the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises and inherited his wealth and desire to fight crime
after witnessing his parents being mugged and then murdered. DC describes him as both a leader and
a hero. (DC Comics, 2017). In the typical Batman comic however, Batman is being hunted by the
police, mostly due to his violent solutions to crime. [He] distrusts the police and willingly breaks the
law in order to enforce his own values of what he considers justice. An interesting example occurs in
the very first Batman comic: Batman No.1 1940, in which Batman executes a mental patient by
hanging him from his Batplane. Using a toxic serum, an evil scientist had mutated the mental patient
into a very strong, enraged monster, locked him in a truck, and was planning to use him to rob a bank.
Batman kills the truck driver with the Batplane s mounted machine gun, then makes a noose with his
Batrope, lowers it down, and hangs the monster while he s attempting to crawl out of the truck
wreckage. The monster s corpse is casually dragged along behind the Batplane, and Batman remarks,
He s probably better off this way. (Cracked, 2012). Interestingly enough, Batman had created and used
an antidote to this serum just a few pages earlier, but did not attempt, or even think to use the antidote
on the monster. Despite this, Batman is considered a superhero and is often compared to Superman,
who by stark contrast, is willing to fight alongside the law, and has faith in the American criminal
justice system. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016)
Somewhat similar to Batman is the Punisher. Also known as

The Day the Cowboys Quit Essay
The Day The Cowboys Quit The Day the Cowboys Quit is a novel written by the highly acclaimed
Texas native, Elmer Kelton, in 1971. Kelton was born April 29th, 1926 in West Texas. Throughout the
early years of his life, Kelton was raised on a ranch and attended college at the University of Texas to
study journalism. Over a span of about fifty years, Kenton was hard at work delivering western
novels, most of which are based in Texas. The novel The Day the Cowboys Quit received the Spur
award in 1971 for the best western novel. This is only one of about forty novels written by Kelton who
has received prestigious awards for many of his novels. The opening of the novel presents a prelude of

Prosper Selkirk, John Torrington, and Lafey Dodge are on the other side of the spectrum as they are
the antagonists that represent big corporation. Each prominent character adds to the storylines
thickness and to the adversity Hitch must come to face. The story starts out with Hitch, Law, and
Rascal working under Charlie Waide on a cattle drive through Texas. The first conflict in the novel
arises when ownership of a cow is in question between Rascal and a fellow cowboy. This small
infraction ultimately sets the precedent of the story as the ownership of cattle becomes a problem that
builds up to the main conflict. As the story progresses forward, Law is caught violating the cowboys
set of unwritten laws as he tries to cheat other cattle owners out of cattle, an offense he would
repeatedly make throughout the novel that leads to his death and would add fuel to the main conflict
over cattle ownership. The title of the book is a direct reference to the cowboy strike of 1883, which is
represented in the novel when the cowboys left their jobs as cowhands for the cattle drives and
demanded higher wages, hoping to cripple the big cattle companies that hindered the cowboys with
their issuing of strict rules. Going against his own morality and wishes, Hitch takes half of Charlie s
men and leads them to join the strike. Hitch himself is a strong independent man that always keeps his
promises which is also

Abstract The increase of technology has given us luxuries beyond our ancestor s imagination. Yet,
with the growing technological advances information security among the cyber world is also a
growing concern. Hackers and cyber criminals are lurking to and fro seeking security vulnerabilities to
devour personal computers and computer systems alike. Their methods run into malicious behavior in
the form of developing malware that includes several types; viruses, worms, botnets, Trojan horses
and logic bombs. Moreover, to the Christian our very own sanctification has hindrances as well. In ...

Introduction As the world becomes more engrained with technology. The growing threats and security
vulnerabilities propose a great concern to keep our digital information private and out of the hands of
thieves, hackers, and abusers. According to David Donahoo quoted in the Liberty Journal, The more
information that is available in the cyber world, the larger the pie becomes as far as a cyber criminal is
concerned. (Menard, 2015) In other words, information security is becoming a vital intrinsic absolute
when we consider the luxury our technology has brought us on a daily basis. More so, in the spiritual
sense the biblical doctrine of sanctification also plays a vital role in the health of our own spiritual
lives. Sanctification as defined by Wayne Grudem, is a progressive work of God and man that makes
us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives. (Grudem, 1994) With that said,

Micheal Jackson s Jargon As A Profession
According to chapter 2, a cliché is a once clever word or phrase that has lost its impact through
overuse McLean, Scott (2010). Thereby, although one might try to be specific in this scenario, the
tendency of not being taken seriously by the receiver exist thus pose a hindrance to what might have
been a successful communication session. For instance, during a recent conversation I had recently
with my best buddy over coffee with some other of my closest childhood friends. She had wanted to
create a compilation of us her oldest buddies, lip syncing and dancing to Justin Timberlake s cover
version of Micheal Jackson s song love never felt so good and present it for an upcoming birthday of
her girlfriend which she had been dating for a while. Although I was all sport about it, I had actually
suggested that why don t she just say she loved her. But being the odd duck that she is, my statement
was a cliche as not only it might have unintentionally offended her, it does sound as if I had missed the
whole whimsical part of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Empty Road Spaces
Of the different road spaces around your truck, the space in front of you is the most important. If you
ever get into an accident, it will likely be with something in your direction of travel. While it s true
that you want to maintain empty space to the sides of your rig whenever possible, you must always
allow plenty of empty road space in front. That one time when you re following too closely because
you re behind your delivery schedule, may be the time when that car in front hits its brakes too hard
for you to avoid a collision.
Remember that unlike you, people driving small vehicles don t understand that large trucks can t brake
as rapidly as they. The car in front will not take your stopping distance into account when they brake.

The Five Types Of Business Entities
Choosing between the many business entities offered can be a challenge for some and finding the
different pros and cons to each entities. In this essay, I will examine and analyze each business entity
that is discussed in our class textbook. The book displays five types business entities. These entities
include corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, partnerships and lastly,
sole proprietorships. For each business entity, I will go in depth and define each usage and develop
some pros and cons ideas. A business entity can be defined as an association that launches itself as a
distinct presence for devotions with taxes.
The corporate structure can be quite complex and expensive than most of the business entities. A
corporation is an impartial legal unit that is discrete from the proprietors. It entails obeying with
guidelines and tax requests. One of the major advantages for a business holder that ... Show more

Partnerships come in two categories, general and limited. With a general partnership, associates
succeed the company and undertake accountability for the partnership s debts and other
responsibilities. In a limited partnership, partners serve as only investors. The partners have no power
over the company and they are not focused with the similar liabilities as general partners have. A
general partnership would be easier to practice if two or more partners who strive to be vigorously
convoluted in the company. One of the major advantages of a partnership is the tax treatment it entails.
A partnership does not pay tax on its earnings but passes through any profits or losses to the individual
partners. During tax season, the partnership has to file a tax return that accounts for its income and
losses. Personal liability is a main distress if you use a general partnership to develop your

The Habits Of The Polar Bear
The polar bear is a large bear that lives in the north. They are the second largest bear in the bear
family, and they have a unique white fur that differentiates them from the rest of the bears. This white
fur is not only their unique characteristic, but also an amazing tool that God has given them so that
they can survive in the wild. In order to better understand polar bear, one must understand their habits,
their characteristics, and the dangers they are facing.
First of all it s a question that everyone has, what do they eat? Their diet depends on high fat content
in seal fat, this is one of the few stuff that can provide them enough calories to maintain their survival
and to pass down their genes. They usually eat seals. Ringed seals are eaten by the females and little
ones, and the males hunt the bearded seals, which are bigger than the ringed seals. In the good times
when they have access to much food, they may eat only the bladder and the skin of the seal because
that s the fattest part. However, when times are not that good, they will also eat other stuff if it is
available. They will hunt whales if they are trapped, they will also accept small animals and any
carcass within their reach. Unlike some bears, they don t have the habit of storing food. After they
finish eating, they will leave the rest of the body for scavengers. Sometimes the scavengers might be
other polar bears that failed their hunt. It is also very common for them to share food. Once, a scientist

Albert Einstein s Theory Of Relativity And The Father Of...
Albert Einstein: Theoretical Physicist, Mathematician, Genius
Even in the year 2015, when asking the question, who is the smartest person in history? you are likely
to receive the same answer every time. Most people recognize this person to be Albert Einstein. This
is certainly not an easy title to earn, but when you look at who Albert Einstein is to the world, his
achievements, and the work he has done for not only the scientific community, but for the entire
world, it is easy to label him as one of the most qualified candidates. Throughout his career, he
developed many names for himself. Most notably, he was known as the father of relativity and the
father of the atomic age. These two titles alone speak volumes about his achievements and
contributions to science, but it is important to examine how he got his name in the history books, and
how he made such a big name for himself in his seventy six years of life. Most people know him for
his theory of relativity, and the famous formula: E=mc2, but his contributions to science extend far
beyond that, making him a renowned scientist long after his death. It requires a tremendous amount of
passion for science to be able to live such an inspiring life and leave a long lasting legacy like Albert
Einstein has done. His passion and dedication are all shown in Albert Einstein s work and are what
make him one of the biggest contributors to science.

The Negative Effects Of Stress
Stress, what is it, how it Affects you and How to Deal With it
Riley C. Keim

Stress, what is it, how it Affects you and How to Deal With it
Stress can have both positive and negative effects on your body. Stress is what gives a person that last
burst of energy in a competition. Stress is what keeps people up at night, what makes them stray from
their normal diet and it can even go as far as making someone physically ill.
What is stress? Stress is one s body s natural response to threats and pressure. Athletes feel stress
during any game or race, students feel stress before a big test or exam. Workers feel stress when they
are assigned to a big project or up for a promotion. Stress causes feelings of nervousness, low energy,
and even tenses us up and makes us feel on edge and easily irritable. When a person is stressed out
their adrenal gland kicks into overdrive causing high levels of adrenaline in the brain.
Distress is negative stress in a person s life. Examples of distress may include,
The death of a family member
The death of a lifelong friend
Separation from your spouse
The end of a long relationship Having money issues
If distress is not handled correctly it can lead to the feelings of hopelessness, irritability, and even
getting physically ill.
Eustress is the good stress in a person s life. Eustress can be caused by events such as
Entering into big tournaments
Being up for a promotion at work
The holiday seasons

Literary Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall ...
Rachell Burns
English 1302 Section 155
October 26, 2015
Symbolism in Literature Writers often use a myriad of different literary techniques to express different
ideas to those who read their work. One of the most common tools authors utilize would be the use of
symbols to portray an abstract meaning different from the literal interpretation of the text. This
element of a story helps connect an object or idea with the greater meaning within a story through
literary analysis. This helps make the moral of the story more meaningful to the specific reader. In The
Jilting of Granny Weatherall, A Jury of Her Peers, and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings,
Katherine Porter, Susan Glaspell, and Gabriel Marquez use one or more predominant symbols to
enforce the integrity of the message they are trying to convey to their readers. One example of strong
symbolism is in The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, by Katherine Porter when the author uses the color
blue as a way to connect the present with different phases in the life of Granny Weatherall, the main
character who comes to accept the inevitability of her own death. The color is first used to describe
the, white stone china jars with blue whirligigs and words painted on them: coffee, tea, sugar, ginger,
cinnamon, allspice, (Porter) in the neatly kept home of her youth. The author seems to use the color to
bring to life a part of Granny s life when she was young, energetic, and kept a well organized house.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ids
INTRODUCTION
The enormous growth of computer networks usage and the huge increase in the number of
applications running on top of it, network security is becoming an important issue. Moreover, almost
all computer systems suffer from security vulnerabilities which are both technically difficult and
economically costly to be solved by the manufacturers. Therefore, the role of the Intrusion Detection
Systems (IDSs), as special purpose devices to detect anomalies and attacks in the network, is
becoming more important.
In general, IDSs are using two fundamental approaches. The first one is misuse detection, also called
signature based detection. In this type of IDSs, the search for evidence of attacks is based on
knowledge accumulated from known attacks. This knowledge is represented by attacks signatures
which are patterns or sets of rules that can uniquely identify an attack. Being designed based on the
knowledge of the past intrusions or known vulnerabilities, misuse based IDSs are also called
knowledge base detection. The advantages of knowledge based approaches are that they have a very
good accuracy and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This way, the system will achieve the advantage of misuse detection to have a high detection rate on
known attacks as well as the ability of anomaly detectors in detecting unknown attacks. Despite the
inherent potential of hybrid detection, there are still two important issues that highly affect the
performance of these hybrid systems. First, anomaly based methods cannot achieve an outstanding
performance without a comprehensive labeled and up to date training set with all different attack
types, which is very costly and time consuming to create if not impossible. Second, efficient and
effective fusion of several detection technologies becomes a big challenge for building an operational
hybrid intrusion detection

Phrixus And Helle Research Paper

the king of Boeotia, were to be taken away to Colchis by a golden ram which belonged to Zeus, the
king of the gods. Unfortunately, on the way Helle had fallen into the ocean of Hellespontus and died.
That only left Phrixus who made it to Colchis and was greeted by King Aeetes, who sacrificed the ram
and had the fleece hung. Later he was told by an oracle that if he lost the fleece, he would lose the his
kingdom as well. Being told this, King Aeetes decided to have it guarded by a dragon in the temple of
Ares, the god of war. Generations later, King Aeson of Iolcus, a descendent of Phrixus, was killed by

that the dean didn t want to hurt anybody s feelings. Although this is a far stretch, this is the reality
people like Satasky in Children Need to Play, Not Compete wish could come true in today s children s

nothing but good for me. Obviously, there have been hardships such trying my best to juggle sports
and my many other obligations without letting any of them fall beneath the other, but I did it, and I
owe it all to the many years of playing. Although children s sports are becoming increasingly
competitive, their parents are playing a major role in the risk of injury and other mental hardships,
such as their child being discouraged if they don t make the cut. However, the values the children
learn by playing competitively such as perseverance and the opportunities that they bring upon
themselves through hard work outweigh the disadvantages.

Lost Faith In Night By Elie Wiesel
I have not lost faith in God [despite] moments of anger and protest; sometimes I have been closer to
him for that reason. Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel explains the struggle of his changing beliefs in
God during the Holocaust in his memoir Night. In Night, Elie Wiesel, a religious boy, is taken to
several concentration camps along with other Jews, and separated from everyone in his family except
for his father. He and his father live dangerous lives in the concentration camps, from being beaten,
watching other prisoners die, and being close to death, until eventually Elie s father dies and the camp
is liberated. As Elie Wiesel s time in the Holocaust lengthens, his devoutness in God begins to
diminish.
Wiesel was extremely religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eliezer hears a rabbi ask desperately, Where is the divine Mercy? How can I believe, how could
anyone believe, in this merciful God. (Wiesel 73) Wiesel no longer knows what to have faith in
anymore. He s hoping for any proof of God, any validation that the God he used to pray to would help
him, but always ends up disappointed. Wiesel is feeling extremely desperate and betrayed, especially
when he heard that Rabbi Eliahou had lost faith. When seeing that Rabbi Eliahou s son tried to get rid
of his father in spite of [himself], a prayer rose in [Eliezer s] heart, to the god in whom [he] no longer
believed in. (Wiesel 87) Although Wiesel continues to claim that he no longer believes in God, a small
part of him still hopes that he is out there and will save Eliezer and the rest of the Jews. He feels
reassurance and secureness when praying to God because it was an instinct and brought him back to
the days where he was very devout. He still believes God is out there and will eventually help him in
the end. Eliezer continues to believe that God is not merciful and good, but still turns toward him in
times of difficulty.
Eliezer went from being extremely religious to questioning in anger about God s ways. He shows that
only in the lowest moments does he turn his back on God, yet in times of need he prays towards God.
By the end of the book, Eliezer is still undecided; he is no longer devout,

The Nature Of The Good Life
Philosophers have been thinking about the nature of the good life since ancient times. The good life
was a central topic during the ancient period of philosophy. Many people say that the good life is
living a prosperous life full of happiness. There are many different ideologies of the good life and each
philosopher has their own values and beliefs. I decided to pick one of the most well known
philosophers, Karl Marx. Karl Marx s philosophy is by far one of the most looked at. He called
capitalism the dictatorship of the upper class. , saying that it was run by the wealthy class solely to
make profit and maximize their own benefits. The end product and goal of capitalism was simply
economic gain. In this philosophy there has to be organized production, which includes the means of
production, such as factories, facilities, machines, and raw materials. Throughout this paper I will
describe certain aspects of Karl Marx s philosophy mainly focusing on why capitalism is not the way
to road to the good life. A good example of this can be looked at by recognizing the class struggle
between bourgeoisie and proletariat, otherwise known as the upper and lower class.
The bourgeoisie owns the means of production and the proletariats are the labor and means of
production. The relationship between these two social classes is very unique. While they both work
together in a way, and have similar interests, they are completely different from each other. This is
called the relation

The Impact of Nazi Rule on the People of Germany between 1933 and 1939 Whether the Nazis made
a negative or positive impact on the people of Germany, they most defiantly made one. In making a
decision on what this was I will look at all of the aspects of their aeon, and examine them. The bad
parts of Nazi sovereignty are obvious: there abominable policies concerning minority groups, their
way suppressing the people by removing their rights, using violence and threats and so forth, however
it must also be pointed out that there were good parts of their reign which included increased quality

However it would appear to me that it was not entirely impossible for workers to rebel, but factors that
made them better off ie money deterred them from it they were getting a little in return for their loss.
The attack on unemployment also changed a number of things for German men. It can be said that
Nazis greatly reduced problems of unemployment as from when they gained power in 1933 to 1939
unemployment dropped from 6014000 right down to 302000. This looks good on the surface but
underneath shows up a number of faults. Numbers of unemployment were most certainly improved
upon but this was mostly due to rearmament, compulsory military service (this took 1300000 off
unemployment registers), people making weapons equipments and scientist developing food and
material substitutes. This was not essentially a long term solution to Germanys problems but the
impact it had was to give men money and food, which at that time was what they needed. Equally it
was men s partners/partners to be which were affected. Women found themselves influenced in
numerous ways, one of which was marriage. In 1933 the law for the encouragement of marriage was
introduced newly weds were given a 1000 mark government loan, encouraging them to have children.
Not long after in 1934 the ten commandments for choice of partner was established. This meant that

knew I had to do this for me and them, I had to show myself first and them second that I had what it
took to make it.
Day two and forward we woke up at 4 am with yelling and screaming that we had 15 minutes to
shower, shave and get in line for physical training and breakfast. Everything was 15 to 20 minutes
including eating; you learn to eat real quickly. Training was tough but as the weeks went on it got
easier. Then around week 4 we had to swim, I was never a strong swimmer so I was nervous but I
made it through. Around week five it seemed they got a little easier and then explained that the
toughness was to help us rely on each other and build the necessary teamwork within us all.
As time went on we had learned the entire Chain of Command, proper Navy rules and how to properly
wear all the uniforms and the seasonal changes for whites and blues. As the 8th week came we got
ready for graduation. Everyone was ready to show their parents how much they had grown up in the
last two months. Part of growing up was proper grooming, making our beds and being responsible and
accountable for each other.
Some of the guys in my company sat around the night before talking about some of the hard times in
boot camp. I talked about the hard part for me was the fire fighting training and taking off that gas

The Space Of East Asian Studies
When thinking about the space of East Asian studies, we often only look at China, Japan, and Korea
based on their physical boundaries on the world map. However, retaining one understanding of East
Asia means we are not considering the problem of geography. In order to manoeuver with or around
the problem of geography, we must constantly reinterpret and criticize the space we take for granted.
The objective is not solving this problem, but to think of ways which can aid in our approach to it.
Space is shaped by and for a political purpose, and our understanding of it plays out in our everyday
lives. Scholars have criticized these dominant modes, and created alternate understandings. However,
these new concepts should not be understood as alternatives to these dominant modes. Power may
create and sustain the dominant form of geography, but the cultivation of alternate comprehensions
aids in the endeavour of continuously revolutionizing its concept, as Li Dazhao does to Spring in his
poem. By rejecting a single analyses of space to be the most correct, we begin to realize the discourse
of geography is constantly criticizing and revolutionizing itself. From our understanding of this, we
begin creating perspectives that make us more critically aware of our surroundings.
First, it is important to classify dominant modes of space, and the institutions behind their cultivation.
Perhaps the greatest driving force behind modern conceptions of space is the government for political

Ethernet cables are generally used to connect devices on LANs including routers and switches.
Theoritically, ethernet cables can support 100 Mbs or 1000 Mbps maximum bandwidith. This
maximum can not be achieved due to overhead hardware and computer operating system. Ethernet
cables usually support one or more industry standards including Category 5 (CAT 5) and Category 6
(CAT 6).
In this network, CAT 5 ethernet cables are used. CAT 5 ethernet cables are a fifth generation twisted
pair cables and popular of all twisted pairs cables available today because they are both affordable and

The LAN on the ground floor needs to connect to the internet. For a computer to connect to another

The program or device that is used to connect to the internet is called a gateway.

Translating between the IP address on the LAN and the IP address on the internet.
Control of the type of information that can be shared/flow by the LAN and the internet

Non German Laws Essay
The Holocaust, defined as the systematic annihilation of six million Jews (and other non Germans) by
the Nazi regime began with the rise of Nazi Germany ( A Historical Summary ). Adolf Hitler is
viewed as the main catalyst, using many different systems to implement his twisted views. One of the
systems used was the implementation of several laws and policies that stripped basic human rights, as
well as social and political rights from persons who were considered non German living in Nazi
occupied Europe. These laws included the forbidding of marriage between a German and a non
German, the stripping of citizenship from anyone who was a non German, and widely regarded as the
cruelest and most sickening of them all a policy referred to by the Nazis as The Final Solution .
In order to protect German blood and keep it pure , the Law for the Protection of German Blood and
German Honor was introduced. This law forbade marriage and extramarital intercourse between Jews
and Germans. This law also forbade the employment of German females under the age of forty five in
Jewish households. This law was effective in alienating the Jews from the rest of Germany. It was
later extended to include Blacks, Romani people (Gypsies), and anyone else who was considered a
non German. This law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Mexican Stereotypes
Is it right to stereotype someone for who they are, what they do, and what they think? To stereotyping
is someone that believes unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same.
When i m around people taking, sometimes i hear that all mexicans mexicans jumped the border but
that does not apply to all mexicans, i ll be talking about a time where i was stereotyped. One day I was
sitting on the couch, when all of the sudden i hear a man saying that all mexicans do is sell tacos. This
comment is stereotypical because that is not true, most of my mexican family members work in
various types of jobs. Actually, none of my mexican family members work in the business of selling
tacos. My dad works in construction, my uncle is a lawyer, and my other uncle works in a restaurant.

easier ways to make more money faster. We can also stop stereotyping by selling tacos all over the

Chimney Sweepers Poem Comparison
Comparison/Contrast Essay
The Chimney Sweepers (Songs of Innocence/Songs of Experience) are both poems about young
children who clean chimneys. The two poems while seemingly similar, are different in some ways.
Songs of Innocence starts with a very dark tone, but in the beginning of the fourth stanza there is a
tone change from dark to rescue/religion.
In Songs of Innocence the narrator begins to explain a dream that another chimney sweep had. Tom
Dacre, a child, was upset when they shaved his head but the soot could no longer spoil his white hair.
His head was shaved due to him contracting soot wart which is a cancer related to prolonged exposure
to the carcinogens of soot. Him and 3 other kids die and get put into coffins. (Tone Change) Then

The Power Struggles in Jury of Her Peers and Mama Come Home
The issue of dominance and subordinance is addressed in the short stories A Jury of her Peers by
Susan Glaspell and Mama Come Home by James Tiptree, Jr. In the stories the subordinates are
harmed by the dominants, but the subordinates overcome the suppression to triumph in the end. The
groups with the power control the laws and the positions of the weaker group.
To begin with, A Jury of her Peers is about the way women in 1917 were treated by men. The main
women characters are Minnie Wright, Mrs. Peters, and Mrs. Hale. The women in the story are
confined to their homes; rarely getting to go to town or visit with their friends. The women did not

The men also think all the housework the women do and the things they worry about are trifles. The
women receive no credit for their work. Dirty towels! Not much of a housekeeper, would you say,
ladies? (Glaspell 264) The women become depressed and lonely.
The subordinates are harmed both physically and emotionally in the story Mama Come Home. The
giant women overpower the smaller men. They beat the men and rape them. The giant women use the
men as sex slaves. They see the men as inferior and only good for sex. The men are physically harmed
because they are bruised and beaten by the Capellans. The standing one had my neck in a vise at arm s
length, and when I worked the standard finger bend she laughed like a deep bell and casually twisted
up my arm until things broke. (Tiptree 69) They are emotionally damaged because they are taken
advantage of. Anyone that is raped becomes torn up inside.
In the story Jury of her Peers, the women are thought of as inferior. The men treat the women like they
are not able to do the same things as the men. But would the women know a clue if they did come
upon it? (Glaspell 266) The women have feminine intuition. They know the pain from isolation that
Minnie was going through and know what clues to look for. Again, for one brief moment, the two
women s eyes found one another. (Glaspell 280) The men underestimate that the women can think on
this level.

Immigration Policy On Immigration
The famous singer songwriter, Conor Oberst, told huffington post, How we treat the undocumented
says a great deal about us as a people and whether or not we ll continue to fulfill the fundamental
American promise of equality and opportunity for all. According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement, 240,255 people were deported in the year 2016. However, this year the number of arrest
have rose up to 38 percent (Gomez). The number of people being deported have been increasing every
year. The reason behind the increase of number is unfair hearings and policy of deportation. The
United States Immigration System should change their policies on deportation because it violates the
constitutional rights and exposes the inequality towards immigrants. Current The United States
Immigration System (USIC) policy is inhumane to the country and its legal system. There have been
many incidents of brutal deportation where person is being hurt or experienced inhumanity. As stated
by Mallory Shelbourne in the article published in The Hill, The administrative complaint includes
accounts from multiple women who were detained by [Immigrations and Customs Enforcement]
while pregnant, including one woman who said she was unable to obtain medical attention after telling
officials she was pregnant and bleeding. This exemplified the cruelty of officials in the process.

How Did Ben Chifley Influence The Labour Movement
I try to think of the Labour movement, not as putting an extra sixpence into somebody s pocket, or
making somebody Prime Minister or Premier, but as a movement bringing something better to the
people, better standards of living, greater happiness to the mass of the people. We have a great
objective the light on the hill which we aim to reach by working for the betterment of mankind not
only here but anywhere we may give a helping hand.
This is but a short excerpt of Ben Chifley s famous Light on the Hill speech in 1949, but it shows the
extent of his political aptitude and beliefs as a true believer in the Labour movement. He is best
recognised for his leadership in the Keynesian, interventionalist reconstruction of the Australian
economy following the Second World War and also his tenure as the architect of the Australian
welfare state since 1945. As such, it is highly evident Ben Chifley had a substantial impact on the post

The Crisp Air By Amy Winehouse
The crisp air encompasses the paper I wrote last year for English an essay on World War Z. A photo of
me and my mother from our vacation to Mexico floats by and then is lifted up, twirling around the
white marble on blue satin. Through all of this, soft, fluid music glides. I recognize the song: Valerie
by Amy Winehouse.
When people talk about iCloud, this is what I picture my cloud looking like all of my hard work, my
memories, good and bad, my favorite songs, that embarrassing video from last Christmas, all hovering
across clouds in the sky. What is this cloud everyone is talking about, though? Where is it? Is it a
legitimate place? Why is it that everyone uses it, yet no one seems to know what it is? When talking
about iCloud, the ignorant American stereotype shines bright. Sort of like how we are all fat. And
loud. And rude. However, in this instance we fit this notorious stereotype. Honestly, no one knows
what it is. Ask the person next to you. Can they explain it? No, they cannot. Told you.
This past summer I got a new phone and computer for reasons privileged children get new phones and
computers: none. I went to the Apple store with my mom and as the overenthusiastic bald man set up
this and that on my new devices, he asked me if I used the cloud or if I wanted to purchase an external
hard drive. I turned to my mom for the answer, like any child does, but unfortunately realised this was
another one of those adult moments. You know, like having to

Different Aspects Of School Involvement Towards Health And...
Different aspects of school involvement towards health and wellness has long been thought to
influence students. Research argues that health promoting lifestyle activities maintain or improve
individual s health and wellness (reference). Researchers suggest that health promotion includes a
process of empowerment of the community to act on the improvement of their life and health qualities
(research) A closer look into a healthy lifestyle begins at childhood. Healthy lunches promote physical
activity and healthy diets. School lunches need to have nutritional value and a well balanced nutrition
scale including fruits, grains, vegetables, protein and dairy. Recess enhances health and academic
benefits. Recess involves more than just stimulating indoor activities, but also simply thirty minutes of
exercise outside. Moreover, the healthy lifestyle needs promotion by an authoritative figure or
institution. Many students rely on teachers, principals, nurses, etc. to teach them the essentials of
health because parents may lack the knowledge to do so.
In a school setting, health promotion entails providing students with educational courses, activities,
school lunches, and recess. All of these factors contribute immensely to the balance of a student s life.
Control must be given to the student to allow them to improve their health and cause a rise in
awareness. The purpose of this study evaluates the methods that public and private middle schools in

NSA Surveillance: Is safety worth losing freedom?
Recently there is debate about if it is okay for the United States government to spy on citizens using
NSA and FBI. This became common knowledge when Edward Snowden leaked millions of
documents that show the government is spying on the public. The United States government should
not keep the NSA surveillance going because it hurts the public more than it keeps the public safe.

The Geyser Old Faithful In Yellowstone National Park, U. A.
Paragraph 1 The Geyser Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park, U.S.A. is a geyser that has a
relatively isolated source of seismic noise. The seismic behavior of this one geyser is similar to many
volcanoes observed. Paragraph 2 Old Faithful differs from other volcanoes because the conduit is
constantly open, and rock fracturing is not a process responsible for the seismicity. Another difference
is that instead of using viscous magma the geyser uses inviscid H2O. Paragraph 3 Water rises into the
reservoir as recharge occurs which suggests that there are two large storage regions in the geyser. The
transport of heat from hot water or steam entering at the base of the recharging water into cooler

Social Support Networks Lowering The Risk For Depression
Social Support Networks Lowering the Risk for Depression in Young Mothers
Introduction
Young mothers, those under the age of 25, are a special group of women. They can be wonderful
parents and love their children as much as older mothers who are more prepared for their children,
however younger mothers can have higher risks for some issues such as depression. There are some
ways that can help lower these risks and these include increasing social support networks for young
mothers.
The Aggregate
The aggregate chosen for this paper is that of young mothers. For the purpose of this paper young
mothers will constitute any mother under the age of 25. The aggregate of young mothers can be linked
to chapter 15, maternal and child health from Community Health Nursing by Stamler and Yiu (2012).
In this group of women some may be married, some single, some have higher education, and some are
high school dropouts, but they all are under the age of 25 who have one or more children.
The Issue Affecting The Aggregate
One issue that is a concern for young mothers is a lack of social support leading to an increased risk
for depression. The risk of depression for a young mother is higher than that of the risk for older
mothers to develop depression (Lanzi, Bert, Jacobs, 2009). The risk for depression is a health issue as
depression lowers the mother s warmth and sensitivity towards her child, which links to poorer
behavior in the infant, and also links to the mothers isolating themselves

(Lavarda, 2009). There are two main reasons that an organization will seek to attain a tax exempt
status with the federal government through the Internal Revenue Services (IRS). First, is to provide for
their beneficiaries a tax deductible contribution, which allows taxpayers benefits when paying their
federal income taxes and secondly, simply is for organizations the ability to not pay federal income
taxes (Lavarda, 2009; Arnsberger, Ludlum, Riley, Statnton, 2008). Organizations who seek out the tax
exempt status do benefit from the protection that the tax code provides, however due to tax code
regulations and reform, organizations that do not heed to the code may be in jeopardy of violating the
code. This violation will result in the IRS revoking the tax exempt status. For emerging organizations
that are on the cusp of defining their affiliations in society must determine if applying for tax
exemption status is a profitable move. Due to the scrutiny of these organizations and such
organizations must take into account the liability that comes with the tax exemption status. The

the pool; an investor in a covered bond had recourse to the issuer, as well as a claim that was secured
by the mortgages.2
The mortgages collateralizing the covered bond were called the cover pool . Covered bonds were
typically structured so as to receive a rating of AAA or AA from the major rating organizations
(AAA denoted instruments of the highest quality). One important difference between covered bonds
and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond were dynamic; in contrast,
mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the security was issued. In the case of a covered
bond, mortgages that experienced delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with
performing mortgages replacing them.
Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of the cover pool was
dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the extent to which the size of the cover
pool would exceed the face value of the covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the
financial health of the issuer. Exhibit 6 shows how recently, as WaMu had been downgraded by the

Both of which only consist of an hour or so. In the mornings, as Bruce leaves early, Mr Helper is responsible to drop off and pick up Emily from school. Every day without fail he is there. Waiting patiently outside the school gate, always on time, never once late. As Emily thought more and more about this on her way home from school, she came to realize that Mr Helper was and has always been there for her ever since they meet five years ago. Emily thought long and hard about this, remembering the times where Mr Helper was always there with her, sharing every moment. Thinking back to the time when she first lost her tooth at five or played her first hockey game, Mr Helper was there. Knowing her memory was not great, she still vividly remembers when all those promises were broken. • 3. The Themes Of Marvel Comics And DC Comics Marvel Comics and DC Comics were both founded in the 1930 s as, naturally, comic book publishers. Today they form 70% of the comic book market. By 2016, that market as a whole had hit a record high of $1.085B in both physical and digital comic book sales (Johnston, 2016) (Comichron, 2016). Some of the highest selling comic series currently in print have strong NCC themes. These include DC s Batman and Marvel s The Punisher series. Batman or Bruce Wayne, is a bat themed vigilante that carries out what he considers to be justice within the corrupt, crime infested Gotham City. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016) (DC Comics, 2017). Bruce Wayne is the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises and inherited his wealth and desire to fight crime after witnessing his parents being mugged and then murdered. DC describes him as both a leader and a hero. (DC Comics, 2017). In the typical Batman comic however, Batman is being hunted by the police, mostly due to his violent solutions to crime. [He] distrusts the police and willingly breaks the law in order to enforce his own values of what he considers justice. An interesting example occurs in the very first Batman comic: Batman No.1 1940, in which Batman executes a mental patient by hanging him from his Batplane. Using a toxic serum, an evil scientist had mutated the mental patient into a very strong, enraged monster, locked him in a truck, and was planning to use him to rob a bank. Batman kills the truck driver with the Batplane s mounted machine gun, then makes a noose with his Batrope, lowers it down, and hangs the monster while he s attempting to crawl out of the truck wreckage. The monster s corpse is casually dragged along behind the Batplane, and Batman remarks, He s probably better off this way. (Cracked, 2012). Interestingly enough, Batman had created and used an antidote to this serum just a few pages earlier, but did not attempt, or even think to use the antidote on the monster. Prosper Selkirk, John Torrington, and Lafey Dodge are on the other side of the spectrum as they are the antagonists that represent big corporation. Each prominent character adds to the storylines thickness and to the adversity Hitch must come to face. The story starts out with Hitch, Law, and Rascal working under Charlie Waide on a cattle drive through Texas. The first conflict in the novel arises when ownership of a cow is in question between Rascal and a fellow cowboy. This small infraction ultimately sets the precedent of the story as the ownership of cattle becomes a problem that builds up to the main conflict. As the story progresses forward, Law is caught violating the cowboys set of unwritten laws as he tries to cheat other cattle owners out of cattle, an offense he would repeatedly make throughout the novel that leads to his death and would add fuel to the main conflict over cattle ownership. The title of the book is a direct reference to the cowboy strike of 1883, which is represented in the novel when the cowboys left their jobs as cowhands for the cattle drives and demanded higher wages, hoping to cripple the big cattle companies that hindered the cowboys with their issuing of strict rules. Going against his own morality and wishes, Hitch takes half of Charlie s men and leads them to join the strike. This white fur is not only their unique characteristic, but also an amazing tool that God has given them so that they can survive in the wild. In order to better understand polar bear, one must understand their habits, their characteristics, and the dangers they are facing. First of all it s a question that everyone has, what do they eat? Their diet depends on high fat content in seal fat, this is one of the few stuff that can provide them enough calories to maintain their survival and to pass down their genes. They usually eat seals. Ringed seals are eaten by the females and little ones, and the males hunt the bearded seals, which are bigger than the ringed seals. In the good times when they have access to much food, they may eat only the bladder and the skin of the seal because that s the fattest part. However, when times are not that good, they will also eat other stuff if it is available. They will hunt whales if they are trapped, they will also accept small animals and any carcass within their reach. Unlike some bears, they don t have the habit of storing food. After they finish eating, they will leave the rest of the body for scavengers. Sometimes the scavengers might be other polar bears that failed their hunt. • 13. Literary Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall ... Rachell Burns English 1302 Section 155 October 26, 2015 Symbolism in Literature Writers often use a myriad of different literary techniques to express different ideas to those who read their work. One of the most common tools authors utilize would be the use of symbols to portray an abstract meaning different from the literal interpretation of the text. This element of a story helps connect an object or idea with the greater meaning within a story through literary analysis. This helps make the moral of the story more meaningful to the specific reader. In The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, A Jury of Her Peers, and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Katherine Porter, Susan Glaspell, and Gabriel Marquez use one or more predominant symbols to enforce the integrity of the message they are trying to convey to their readers. One example of strong symbolism is in The Jilting of Granny Weatherall, by Katherine Porter when the author uses the color blue as a way to connect the present with different phases in the life of Granny Weatherall, the main character who comes to accept the inevitability of her own death. The color is first used to describe the, white stone china jars with blue whirligigs and words painted on them: coffee, tea, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, (Porter) in the neatly kept home of her youth. The author seems to use the color to bring to life a part of Granny s life when she was young, energetic, and kept a well organized house. The next time the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, almost all computer systems suffer from security vulnerabilities which are both technically difficult and economically costly to be solved by the manufacturers. Therefore, the role of the Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs), as special purpose devices to detect anomalies and attacks in the network, is becoming more important. In general, IDSs are using two fundamental approaches. The first one is misuse detection, also called signature based detection. In this type of IDSs, the search for evidence of attacks is based on knowledge accumulated from known attacks. This knowledge is represented by attacks signatures which are patterns or sets of rules that can uniquely identify an attack. Being designed based on the knowledge of the past intrusions or known vulnerabilities, misuse based IDSs are also called knowledge base detection. Wiesel is feeling extremely desperate and betrayed, especially when he heard that Rabbi Eliahou had lost faith. Many people say that the good life is living a prosperous life full of happiness. There are many different ideologies of the good life and each philosopher has their own values and beliefs. I decided to pick one of the most well known philosophers, Karl Marx. Karl Marx s philosophy is by far one of the most looked at. He called capitalism the dictatorship of the upper class. , saying that it was run by the wealthy class solely to make profit and maximize their own benefits. The end product and goal of capitalism was simply economic gain. In this philosophy there has to be organized production, which includes the means of production, such as factories, facilities, machines, and raw materials. Throughout this paper I will describe certain aspects of Karl Marx s philosophy mainly focusing on why capitalism is not the way to road to the good life. A good example of this can be looked at by recognizing the class struggle between bourgeoisie and proletariat, otherwise known as the upper and lower class. The bourgeoisie owns the means of production and the proletariats are the labor and means of production. The relationship between these two social classes is very unique. The objective is not solving this problem, but to think of ways which can aid in our approach to it. Space is shaped by and for a political purpose, and our understanding of it plays out in our everyday lives. Scholars have criticized these dominant modes, and created alternate understandings. However, these new concepts should not be understood as alternatives to these dominant modes. Power may create and sustain the dominant form of geography, but the cultivation of alternate comprehensions aids in the endeavour of continuously revolutionizing its concept, as Li Dazhao does to Spring in his poem. • 26. Non German Laws Essay The Holocaust, defined as the systematic annihilation of six million Jews (and other non Germans) by the Nazi regime began with the rise of Nazi Germany ( A Historical Summary ). Adolf Hitler is viewed as the main catalyst, using many different systems to implement his twisted views. One of the systems used was the implementation of several laws and policies that stripped basic human rights, as well as social and political rights from persons who were considered non German living in Nazi occupied Europe. These laws included the forbidding of marriage between a German and a non German, the stripping of citizenship from anyone who was a non German, and widely regarded as the cruelest and most sickening of them all a policy referred to by the Nazis as The Final Solution . In order to protect German blood and keep it pure , the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor was introduced. This law forbade marriage and extramarital intercourse between Jews and Germans. This law also forbade the employment of German females under the age of forty five in Jewish households. This law was effective in alienating the Jews from the rest of Germany. It was later extended to include Blacks, Romani people (Gypsies), and anyone else who was considered a non German. This law ... To stereotyping is someone that believes unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same. When i m around people taking, sometimes i hear that all mexicans mexicans jumped the border but that does not apply to all mexicans, i ll be talking about a time where i was stereotyped. The number of people being deported have been increasing every year. The reason behind the increase of number is unfair hearings and policy of deportation. The United States Immigration System should change their policies on deportation because it violates the constitutional rights and exposes the inequality towards immigrants. A photo of me and my mother from our vacation to Mexico floats by and then is lifted up, twirling around the white marble on blue satin. Through all of this, soft, fluid music glides. I recognize the song: Valerie by Amy Winehouse. When people talk about iCloud, this is what I picture my cloud looking like all of my hard work, my memories, good and bad, my favorite songs, that embarrassing video from last Christmas, all hovering across clouds in the sky. What is this cloud everyone is talking about, though? Where is it? Is it a legitimate place? Why is it that everyone uses it, yet no one seems to know what it is? When talking about iCloud, the ignorant American stereotype shines bright. Sort of like how we are all fat. And loud. And rude. However, in this instance we fit this notorious stereotype. Honestly, no one knows what it is. Ask the person next to you. Can they explain it? No, they cannot. Told you. This past summer I got a new phone and computer for reasons privileged children get new phones and computers: none. I went to the Apple store with my mom and as the overenthusiastic bald man set up this and that on my new devices, he asked me if I used the cloud or if I wanted to purchase an external hard drive. Research argues that health promoting lifestyle activities maintain or improve individual s health and wellness (reference). Researchers suggest that health promotion includes a process of empowerment of the community to act on the improvement of their life and health qualities (research) A closer look into a healthy lifestyle begins at childhood. Healthy lunches promote physical activity and healthy diets. School lunches need to have nutritional value and a well balanced nutrition scale including fruits, grains, vegetables, protein and dairy. Recess enhances health and academic benefits. Recess involves more than just stimulating indoor activities, but also simply thirty minutes of exercise outside. Moreover, the healthy lifestyle needs promotion by an authoritative figure or institution. Many students rely on teachers, principals, nurses, etc. to teach them the essentials of health because parents may lack the knowledge to do so. In a school setting, health promotion entails providing students with educational courses, activities, school lunches, and recess. All of these factors contribute immensely to the balance of a student s life. Control must be given to the student to allow them to improve their health and cause a rise in awareness. Paragraph 2 Old Faithful differs from other volcanoes because the conduit is constantly open, and rock fracturing is not a process responsible for the seismicity. Another difference is that instead of using viscous magma the geyser uses inviscid H2O. Social Support Networks Lowering The Risk For Depression Social Support Networks Lowering the Risk for Depression in Young Mothers Introduction Young mothers, those under the age of 25, are a special group of women. They can be wonderful parents and love their children as much as older mothers who are more prepared for their children, however younger mothers can have higher risks for some issues such as depression. There are some ways that can help lower these risks and these include increasing social support networks for young mothers. The Aggregate The aggregate chosen for this paper is that of young mothers. For the purpose of this paper young mothers will constitute any mother under the age of 25. The aggregate of young mothers can be linked to chapter 15, maternal and child health from Community Health Nursing by Stamler and Yiu (2012). In this group of women some may be married, some single, some have higher education, and some are high school dropouts, but they all are under the age of 25 who have one or more children. The Issue Affecting The Aggregate One issue that is a concern for young mothers is a lack of social support leading to an increased risk for depression. The risk of depression for a young mother is higher than that of the risk for older mothers to develop depression (Lanzi, Bert, Jacobs, 2009). The risk for depression is a health issue as depression lowers the mother s warmth and sensitivity towards her child, which links to poorer behavior in the infant, and also links to the mothers isolating themselves ... Introduction The 501(c)3 tax code specifically for organizations that are reserved for educational institutions, churches or other nonprofit organizations including what is often deemed as charitable (Lavarda, 2009). There are two main reasons that an organization will seek to attain a tax exempt status with the federal government through the Internal Revenue Services (IRS). First, is to provide for their beneficiaries a tax deductible contribution, which allows taxpayers benefits when paying their federal income taxes and secondly, simply is for organizations the ability to not pay federal income taxes (Lavarda, 2009; Arnsberger, Ludlum, Riley, Statnton, 2008). Organizations who seek out the tax exempt status do benefit from the protection that the tax code provides, however due to tax code regulations and reform, organizations that do not heed to the code may be in jeopardy of violating the code. This violation will result in the IRS revoking the tax exempt status. For emerging organizations that are on the cusp of defining their affiliations in society must determine if applying for tax exemption status is a profitable move. Due to the scrutiny of these organizations and such organizations must take into account the liability that comes with the tax exemption status. The liability is not one that an organization can take lightly, if an organization does gain tax exemption status and then later fails to abide by the regulations, the risk is simple; the revocation of the ... One important difference between covered bonds and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond were dynamic; in contrast, mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the security was issued. In the case of a covered bond, mortgages that experienced delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with performing mortgages replacing them. Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of the cover pool was dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the extent to which the size of the cover pool would exceed the face value of the covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the financial health of the issuer.
