Role of Women During and After the Age of Revolutions Essay
There have been many stereotypical views and misconceptions about the role of women during and
after the age of revolutions. Although the role of women did change, it is important to understand their
position before the revolutions in order to wager how their role changed and of course, to what extent.
It would be unrealistic to assume that all women during this period fell into one category. There are
many factors to consider and so it is vital to address how different types of women behaved in their
varied working and living environments.
In pre industrial Europe the life of a single woman can be regarded as extremely difficult from an
economic perspective. Most single women, irrespective of age, belonged to a family, ... Show more

The French Revolution was going to make the lives of all Frenchmen better, why not for the women
as well? That is exactly how Olympe De Gouges a devoted enthusiast of the French Revolution felt.
She saw that there was something more to reach for. The stirring winds of the revolution blew back
the curtains and showed women that they could and should be living a life with the same opportunities
and rights that men have.
Olympe De Gouges wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens, her work was
echoing the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen. She wrote this statement in order to
claim equal legal rights for women and the protection of civil rights among wives and mothers.
Olympe De Gouges goal was to open the eyes of women that they haven t gained any advantages in
the French Revolution, that women need to summon the forces of reason against their hopeless
affectation of supremacy. According to the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens
Olympe De Gouges says it is in your power to overturn them. What she means by them are the men
that stand in their way of equality, that the old regime is over with and it s time to be seen something
else other than ...a brainless person (p.99). In the declaration she talks about the life of a women born
into a rich family as well as a women born into a poor family, how both differ that in a rich family the
women gains equality

Examples Of Voyeurism In Rear Window
AWe re a race of Peeping Toms. People ought to get out of their homes and look at themselves.
What is the film s message about the ethics of voyeurism?
Voyeurism is originally defined as the practice of gaining sexual pleasure from watching others when
they are naked or engaged in sexual activity . However, the term is also used to describe a general
spying on, or having interest in, other people s lives. This kind of voyeurism is the central theme for
Alfred Hitchcock s mystery thriller, Rear Window (1954). The film follows the boredom induced
curiosity of photographer L.B. Jeff Jefferies. Bound to his wheelchair with a broken leg, he has little
to do with his time, and finds himself looking into and involving himself in, the lives of his ... Show

After the journey ends, we are left to contemplate the morality surrounding voyeurism, and Hitchcock
s own proposal about the nature of the practice.
Voyeurism in its generic form, has long been considered unethical due to its invasive nature. Most
people would agree that spying on others is an invasion of privacy, and would look down on those
peering into other s lives. This viewpoint is expressed in the opening scene of the film by Jefferies
insurance worker, Stella. She makes her entrance stating that The New York state sentence for a
peeping tom is six months in the workhouse... . She goes on to say that his behaviour has her smelling
trouble right here in [his] apartment and mimics his hypothetical court appearance. Lisa Freemont,
Jefferies girlfriend, also comments on the issue, first when Jefferies tells her of his suspicions of Lars
Thorwald; labelling his wild opinions as diseased while defensively giving alternate reasons for all of
Jefferies questions about Thorwald. Including these women, no character in the film, initially,
encourages Jefferies voyeurism. Instead they explicitly downplay and dismiss it. Both Stella and

Monday, November 14, 2016
Abstract
The differences between Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and the similar disorder, Attachment
Anxiety Disorder, were examined to show that the disorders are alike. The causes of Separation
Anxiety Disorder and the symptoms in which a child could be diagnosed were discussed. Following
that, the treatments that were presently available and ways parents could do to counter the onset of this
disorder were observed. Lastly, examples presented of the research studies were observed on a thirteen
year old boy and a two year old pointer cross. Both examples showed how both mother and owner of
the dog could figure out how the son and the dog were diagnosed and how they were treated.
Separation Anxiety disorder
Separation anxiety disorder is a condition that causes a child severe distress when away from the
parents or the caregivers. Studies show that 4 5% of children and adolescents typically have this
disorder. This paper will provide an overview of the present understandings of SAD. The information
covered in this paper will include an example of a study for both a child and an animal. The areas
examined will focus on the causes, symptoms, methods of diagnosis, ways to prevent it and the
treatment currently available for this order.

Policies in Relation to Abortion
Policies in Relation to Abortion Before and After the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Case
New Mexico State University
Jennifer Walker
Abstract
The Roe versus Wade Supreme Court Case has had a huge impact on abortion laws in the United
States. Before 1973, abortions were illegal and criminal, with few exceptions. Overnight, the decision
in the case legalized first trimester abortions while leaving the specifications of the other trimesters up
to the states. This case has led to many debates over the value of life and when life begins whether at
conception, independence from mother, or first breath. All of these can be defined by religion, law, or
individual beliefs. Unfortunately, none of the policies before or after Roe versus Wade have ... Show

Though the number of abortions has definitely increased from after the Roe versus Wade case, this is
likely do to the reporting of abortions rather than the legality of the abortions. Ideological/Value
Perspective Both the value one places on life and the question of when life begins plays a huge role in
the debate over abortion. Though people who are not part of a religion or are not spiritual have their
own beliefs, much of the debate does come from a religious perspective. So when does human life
begin? Some believe it is the moment of conception, others at the time when the baby can live
independently from the mother, and still others believe it is when the baby takes his/her first breath.
This is important because depending on when a person believes a life is valuable or that a fetus
becomes a person, may make an impact on whether or not an individual is for or against abortion. As
stated earlier, religion plays a large role in a person s beliefs as well. According to Stephens, Jordens,
Kerridge, and Ankeny (2010), the Catholic and Lutheran religions believe life begins at conception
and that this life has to right to live. Some Catholics even believe abortion is homicide. For the Jewish
faith, conception is the beginning of life; however, the mother s already existing life is more important
than the fetus. If the mother s life is at risk, an abortion may be an option. In Islam, the

Celta Assignment 1
Cambridge CELTA assignment: Focus on the learner Part A My student s name is Corrado, he s 42
years old and his L1 is italian. He is an entrepreneur. In fact, he owns a bar where he works with two
friends. However, he doesn t need English at work as I thought. He loves to travel and that s the main
reason for him to learn English: he s been to London many times and he would like to travel to the US
as well and also he likes to organize his own trips so he needs English also to book hotels and flights
online. He s studied English only in school and (he says) with a terrible teacher who gave him no
motivation. When he was travelling, he was always with friends who knew English very well so he
was not led to try to talk himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the vocabulary he chooses is spelled correctly and most of the times it s appropriate for the
context. Listening: he s very good with gist comprehension, and when he doesn t understand he s able
to ask to repeat or to say something slower. That probably comes from his ability to communicate
effectively and from the habit of travelling. However, again when it comes to specific use of tenses
(such as present continuous used for planned future) he gets lost. Reading: I ve observed him in class
and he seems to not like particularly reading tasks, when he s doing pair work he starts making up
jokes and gets easily distracted. But then when he arrives at the activity after the reading he enjoys it
more and starts concentrate. Generally speaking with Corrado we have to consider that he s an
elementary student and he makes many mistakes because he tries to use complicated structures for his
level such as present perfect and relative clauses. I think the best thing about Corrado is that he s very
enthusiastic and he s a natural leader in the group so when he likes an activity (which most of the
times he does exept maybe for reading) he s able to draw the whole class. That s why I think me and
my colleagues tend to choose him as our volounteer for demontrations, because he s not afraid of
making a fool of himself and on the contrary he s happy to laugh

What Was The Influence Of Roman Law
Many nations in the world have not made as many original contributions to the world and modern
society as much as the Romans have. Many aspects of today s society can be perceived to have been
affected through the many influences by ancient Rome. Roman architecture, art, religion, agriculture,
and many more are all areas where influences of Roman concepts can be noted. However, an
important area of influence by ancient Rome was Roman law. Roman law has been well adapted to
other regions of the world, far beyond that of where its Roman creators had used it. The term in which
we say Roman Law has formed an important and consistent existence today. It is the common

valuable in understanding legal systems of today. It has come to be that Roman law is still a subject in
which many law students study and learn to understand its values in modern legal systems. Hence,
Roman law has created many values that are accepted and acknowledged in what we call law

SpaceX And NASA Mars Mission: 5 Things You Didn t Know

Plans to discover more about the space have been underway since the first trip to the space was made.
Currently, plans to inhabit and make a living from the planet Mars are exiting each and every ear.
Space scientists drawn from NASA and private space study organizations such as SpaceX have vowed
to make this a reality in the coming future. Not only are these people ambitious to visit the space and
mars, but also the moon. Well, Good luck to them! Hope the trips will be fun, free from calamities as

With this said, the NASA SpaceX corporation in the Mars mission is intriguing. Having completed
various missions in the space separately, what are these space companies after? Here are the 5 things
you probably didn t know about the SpaceX and NASA Mars mission.
How Are People Going To Survive The Trip?
During this announcement which dazzled dozens, Musk provided few and limited details about the
possible life inside the spaceship. However, he mentioned that the trip, by a spaceship that ferries
people to Mars would be utmost fun with restaurants and Zero G games. This however, does not
provide concrete descriptions of how the spaceship passengers would pass time and mist important,
stay alive.
One of the biggest concerns is definitely the increased levels of radiation. The deep space contains
energized particles from deep space cosmic rays and solar flares which can potentially harm people
during the voyage.
Where Will The Colonist Live And How Will They Survive?
This is the second issue Musk highlighted lightly. He mentioned that the concern of SpaceX was to
provide an ample transportation system to Mars. Besides, the promo video from SpaceX ends right
after the colonists get to Mars. It is therefore unclear who will handle the responsibilities of creating
habitats and a self sustaining civilization in the red

The Importance Of Internet Privacy
The purpose why internet privacy be invented is because the scientists hoped that the hardware,
software and data in its network system can be protected from accidental and malicious damage,
alteration, disclosure. Also wanted its system can be continuous and reliable Running, network service
is not interrupted, etc. But as for today, there are still lots of aspects like viruses and rogue software
are unchecked. The causes of virus and rogue software s rampant are both human factors and systemic
vulnerabilities.
In today s Internet world, Internet security seems to be considered an outdated idea. Instead of making
security a priority, technology companies see it as an added way, not as a security measure. This can
be referred to now there are many unsound places in the construction of Internet security. But at the
same time, some technology companies and the government set special legal restrictions on them, but
also can reflect its sound aspects.
Obviously, legislation is the most effective and direct way to limit cybercrime and improve cyber
security. In the original, there was no law that would prevent cybercrime from taking place. The
company collected data about people s internet access, assembled it into detailed profiles, and sold it
to advertisers or others without a request for permission. So it is best to see the support that appears on
the web and the minimum privacy standards that are turned off. The article states that the Obama
administration has called

Examples Of Moral Compass
Moral Compass
Navigation helps individuals arrive to a given destination, but the human life also requires of such
navigation. Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue and
know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is the soul
that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is immortal.
Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul is real. Such
evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s psychodynamic theory,
which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both address that the soul s existence is the personality of a human
being.
On the other hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subsequently, greater evidence validates the soul s existence through Plato s theory of the tripartite
soul. Plato s theory is broken down into three separate parts: reason, spirit, and body appetites. Plato
defines reason to be the ability to use logic and language, while spirit is the emotional drives humans
feel such as anger or love. And, he defines body appetites as essentials that the body requires to
survive like food, water, and sex. Additionally, Plato states that together these parts create a living
organism or a human soul whose purpose is to be in a healthy state. To attain the soul s healthy state
all of the three parts must be balance and such balance is only achieved when the element of reason
leads spirit and body appetites. Otherwise the soul will come across a dysfunction, which can cause
further effects. For example, let s say individual X s soul is not lead by reason, but instead by spirit;
and one day X discovers that his girlfriend cheated. X is not going to act reasonably instead he is
going to act upon his emotional drives like anger and frustration. Those emotional drives then cause
his reason to be set aside reasonable thought leaving a large possibility to become unstable. At an
unstable state it can cause X s soul or personality to be insecure or damaged. This is an example that
shows what can occur when

Bowling For Columbine Ethos Pathos Logos
Bowling for Columbine film by Michael Moore is a film in which its central argument is that
Americans are afraid of each mainly because of the media whose goals are to put fear in the American
community. Unlike several documentaries this one is unique; this film is intended to appeal to the
audience who are against guns or are pro gun control and safety. Across this film, Moore s takes all of
the audience through an exploration of the history of guns and violence, and with the big question, we
all ask when a young adult commits a violent act, whom should we blame for this? We start off with
ethos or credibility. One way Moore shows credibility is when he not only interviewed one side of the
gun issues but both. An example would be when he interviewed victims of the Columbine massacre, a

Tamarla is the mother of the six year old boy who shot and killed the six year old girl Michaela
Roland in Flint, Michigan. Moore talks about how Tamarla was not home the morning of the incident
because she was on her three hour round trip bus journey to Oakland country, to work at her two jobs
at the mall, as part of the State of Michigan s welfare program. Pathos conveyed in two ways to the
audience; first, they are shocked, that how in the world did a six year old boy get a hold of a gun?
Moreover, the audience gets exceptionally heartbroken about the little girl s death which gave fuel to
the fire on hatred for gun

The Impact Of Multifamily Residential On Real Estate Market
Multifamily residential is a sector in real estate market. It is a type of housing where multiple separate
housing units for residential inhabitants are contained within one building or several buildings within
one complex (Resource: Appendix 26). The classifications of multifamily housing are various.
According to the methods of classifying online (Resource: Appendix 27), the multifamily are divided
into duplex or semi detached (in some cities, it is called two flat), three flat, four flat, townhouse,
apartment building, mixed use building, and apartment community. Although multifamily targets for
the number of householders are over one, each sub segment of multifamily has different targets and
focuses. Based on the variety of geology, demography, climate, hydrology, culture, history, and other
factors, each sub segment fits in different lands or cities. For example, duplex is common in
Milwaukee (Resource: Appendix 28), because duplex is popular in Poland, and Polish immigrants
built those houses to live in. In Chicago (Resource: Appendix 29), duplex is an old signature of
American workplaces and living houses, and they are reserved in Chicago to satisfy the needs of
residents there.
A duplex house is a dwelling having apartments with separate entrances for two households. This
includes two story houses having a complete apartment on each floor and also side by side apartments
on a single lot that share a common wall. By contrast, a building comprising two attached

Dicore Case Study
1. External Analysis
In order to understand the environment of the mining industry and evaluate Dicore s competitors and
customers, this chapter will adopt some tools, such as PESTEL and Porter s five forces, to analyze the
external environment of Dicore International.
2.1. PESTEL Analysis
The PESTEL framework is often used to analyze the broad macro environment of an organization
(Johnson et al, 2014). Thus, it is used in this chapter to identify how the trend of drilling industry can
be affected by the political, economical, social, technological, ecological and legal factors.
2.2.1. Political Factors
There were two bans on offshore drilling raised during 1980s in the United States, in response to the
damage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, drilling sites are always located in inaccessible areas that cannot provide a comfortable
working condition. Therefore, it could contribute to a lower level of operational productivity.
2.2.4. Technological Factors
The overall mining industry profits declining in 2013 came along with the declining of investment,
which may lead to a lack of funds in research and development in the mining industry, and slow down
the innovation process of drilling equipment to achieve faster and more accurate drilling. Besides,
better equipment can also address the issue raised by the bonus pay which often results in damaging
equipment or mineral.
2.2.5. Ecological Factors
The environmental regulations could impose the operating expenses of drilling, particularly in the
southwestern region. To be more specific, the drilling company has to take full responsibility to
reverse any damage that it may cause to the environment.
2.2.6. Legal Factors
More than one licence is required for a company to offer a full range of drilling services in
southwestern region. This may be a slow and complex process and may influence the company s
performance to some extent. Yet it is still much more stable than the rest of the factors that might
change the macro environment.
2.2. Porter s Five Forces Analysis
The Five Forces Framework will be adopted in this chapter to identify the attractiveness of the drilling

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Márquez delivers a tale of love set in Colombia in a time
amidst disease and civil war. The symptoms of lovesickness are described as the same as cholera, and
the conflict of the war mirrors the quarrels of love. The conflicted love tale begins with Fermina Daza
and Florentino Ariza experiencing young love. The two exchanged letters, filled with passion by
Florentino, yet their relationship was forbidden. Yet when Dr. Juvenal Urbino was determined to
marry Fermina, her father and even members of the church approved. Advocates of Urbino s advances

Even when Fermina Daza had rejected Florentino Ariza in a lightning flash of maturity , her maturity
like lightning was momentary and fleeting (Márquez 203). The ephemeral nature of her maturity
stems from her inability to control her emotions. When she feels guilty she is overwhelmed by the
sensation. Fermina panics when she is plagued by the phantom of guilt and her inability to process her
emotions is highlighted (Márquez 204). Her lack of control over her emotions makes her child like,
but her need for validation reveals her immaturity. Whenever a mistake occurred like a child Fermina
Daza would immediately try to shift blame from herself and onto the nearest scapegoat. Her
immaturity caused a dire need to never be seen as at fault. Like a child she was not concerned with
who was responsible or with convincing herself of her own innocence: she was satisfied at having
established it (Márquez 205). Yet her innocence is a fault. Since she required others to reassure her of
her innocence, control of Fermina Daza was again placed in hands that were not her

Antitrust Law Violation Of Antitrust Laws
Antitrust Law Violations
Introduction
This paper will discuss the Google case that was presented by Microsoft stating that Google was in
violation of antitrust laws. Also, in this paper some of the pecuniary and non pecuniary costs will be
discussed. Given in this paper will also be my thoughts on monopolies and oligopolies.
Antitrust Case
Google was investigated for antitrust behavior because they were claimed to be an internet bully that
abuses its dominance of online search and advertising (STEINHAUSER LIEDTKE, 2011, p. 1).
Google was doing things like buying smaller companies in search results but then

When dealing with market structures and considering Google as a monopoly, the characteristics of the
monopoly market structure fit. In a sense, Google is being seen as the only producer for internet
search, and is trying to make it seem through their practices that they are the only reliable business in
the industry. Because of the overwhelming market power Google is gaining through the use of other
smaller companies, other businesses such as Microsoft, are beginning to feel that the competition
being created is unfair and favored. Especially with Google blocking out their results as the search
engine is used.
Antitrust as Investopedia pointed out, prohibits a variety of practices that restrain trade, ( Antitrust
Definition | Investopedia , n.d.). According to the complaints of Microsoft, Google was in violation of
the Sherman Act of 1980. The Sherman Act states that, public is best served by free competition in
trade and industry, ( Sherman Anti Trust Act legal definition of Sherman Anti Trust Act , n.d.). Also,
the Sherman Act points out that, it prohibits monopolies attempts to monopolize, or conspiracies to
monopolize. ( Sherman Anti Trust Act legal definition of Sherman Anti Trust Act , n.d). By blocking
out their rivals, and not giving them an equal opportunity to display the information related to the
searches of the consumers, Microsoft felt this was a violation of the Sherman Act. On another note,

Life In The Iron Mills Summary
Rebecca Harding Davis s story Life in the Iron Mills is considered one of the first fictional novels to
use realism and bring to life a delineated lower class and issues relevant to women. Encouraging
social reform for working class women as well blacks and immigrants Davis employs a harsh concrete
description of poor living conditions within the mills, workers homes, and for the workers themselves.
Whereas the meaning of class and social division has changed throughout time, Raymond Williams

of class among social division that correlates into the mills fictional setting. This essay will include
Davis s vivid illustration of class separation and argue for social change among women, immigrants,
and the alienated working class that are unable to escape life in Antebellum America. The story of Life
in the Iron Mills begins with describing Hugh Wolfe, an immigrant mill hand whose differences
separate himself from his faceless colleagues of the mill before he makes an appearance. The main
narrative of the story starts with Hugh s cousin Deborah Wolfe; third person narrative creates an

Essay On Texas Natural Vegetation
Human activity has impacted natural vegetation in Texas. According to sources, the region south of
San Antonio was originally brush country, with mesquite, small live and post oak, prickly pear cactus,
bluestem, buffalo grass, and bunchgrass. Much of this native vegetation has been replaced with
agricultural crops. Among the more exotic are the once nearly extinct whooping cranes that winter in
the protected Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, near Corpus Christi; the endangered Attwater s prairie
chicken, now bred in a number of Texas zoos and protected at a national wildlife refuge near Houston;
and the rare ivory billed woodpeckers, found mainly in the Big Thicket National Preserve of East

B Wells Red Record Summary
1. An example of whites lynching blacks in the South.
Ida. B wells can be considered to be among the greatest African American civil rights activists because
of her stand on the lynching of people of color in the South. She was also affected by the primitive
behavior of white men at the time as her newspaper s office was destroyed because of the opinion it
raised. One of the examples Wells gives of whites lynching blacks was of Ebenezer Fowler who was
the richest black man in his town. He was accused of having a romantic relationship with a white
woman because of the romantic letter he sent her. At the time, the white men were allowed to seduce
any woman but if a black man tried to have a romantic relationship with a white woman it was

They saw their actions as a way to gain control over the black people and create a boundary between
them. They wanted to gain superiority. To justify their actions, they also accused black people of
killings, rape, and theft.
3. How white violence and intimidation prevented black people from exercising their civil rights.
White violence and intimidation created fear among the black people as they feared for their lives. The
hostile environment against the black people was a major factor in preventing them from exercising
their civil rights. They feared if they exercised their civil rights, they would be accused of killings,
rape or theft and be lynched. They opted to stay put rather than risk their lives.
Hi Acheton,
I like your analysis of the document. I totally agree it is through the actions of civil rights activists like
Ida B. Wells that the plight of African Americans in the United States changed for the better. Black
people in this country have gone through hard times and it is commendable how they have managed to
rise through the ranks and play a major role in the country s politics and economy. It is also
heartbreaking to know that white people tried to justify their actions which were unacceptable in the
first place. Generally, I believe that the country has made large steps to reduce the racial gap and we
can say we are moving in the right

Lorelai Victoria Gilmore
Prenatal/Perinatal Development
It s a girl! Lorelai Victoria Gilmore was born on April 26, 1968 with no known birth defects to Emily
and Richard Gilmore. She got an APGAR rating of one for appearance, two for pulse, two for
grimace, a one for activity, and a two for respiration. Her mothers choose to breast feed her because
breast milk is almost always the best food (lecture slides). She used disposable diapers because they
are easier and Lorelai would just ruin the reusable ones anyway like she ruined her pretty white dress

by a peer so Emily speaks with the bully s parents and uses her connections to the principle s wife to

transition from blatant sexual comments and gestures to using relational aggression to isolate Lorelai
and try to make her peers ignore her (Ludden, 2015). This attempt is not very successful because,
aside from the bully and his immediate clique, Lorelai s wit and gregariousness makes her popular

Obesity is one of the major risk factors for gallstones, especially in women. A large clinical study
showed that being even moderately overweight increases one s risk for developing gallstones.
Secondly, excess estrogen from pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy or birth control pills appears
to increase cholesterol levels in bile and decrease gallbladder movement, both of which can lead to
gallstones.
Ethnicity is another important factor. According to scientists, Native Americans have a genetic
predisposition to secrete high levels of cholesterol in bile. In fact, they have the highest rates of
gallstones in the United States. A majority of Native American men have gallstones by age 60. Among
the Pima Indians of Arizona, 70 percent of women have gallstones by age 30. Mexican Americans
men and women of all ages also have high rates of gallstones.
The fourth factor is Cholesterol lowering drugs. Drugs that lower cholesterol levels in blood actually
increase the amount of cholesterol secreted in bile. This in turn can increase the risk of gallstones.
Another factor is rapid weight loss. As the body metabolizes fat during rapid weight loss, it causes the
liver to secrete extra cholesterol into bile, which can cause gallstones.
Gallstones may sometimes cause certain symptoms. These symptoms include Chronic Indigestion,
which have symptoms such as nausea, heartburn and bloating.
Sudden, steady and

The Impact Of Movie Piracy In The Film Industry
Most people, no matter what social class they´re in, have watched a pirated movie. By definition,
movie piracy is the illegal duplicating of movies for sale or any personal use. Or in other words, if you
want to watch a movie, you have to pay for it. No matter, if you pay for a movie ticket, a D.V.D. or
pay to stream it online, that payment goes to many different levels of people who help make the
movie. The latest movement to attack the American society is movie pirating. In any city, it is easy to
find individuals selling pirated copies of movies illegally. A great number of the world´s black market
business is represented by pirated movies. The use and invention of the internet allowed for creation
and expansion of downloading, sharing files and editing files. Pirates around the world used this
innovation in technology to their advantage. Movie piracy has become a plague to the world´s
economy because of the theft of over millions from the film industry.
What an average person probably would not understand is that watching an illegal movie is not just
some simple thing. The film industry, or the movie making business, supports well over 2.5 million of
the world´s jobs. Which goes to say, the film industry holds a huge part of the nation´s economy. The
sale of movies and their proceeds leads to taxable revenue, taxable revenue that goes towards new
roads, wages, development of advanced neighborhoods, schools, and bridges. The supporting action of
those not creating the illegal films, are also affecting the economy. Basically, stealing from the
filmmakers by purchasing illegal copies of their movies. Instead of paying the filmmaker for their
movie, so they can then pay their studio and they can in return pay their actors, producers, crew, crew
help, and more. The production of illegal copies of movies are one thing. The support of these
productions is an entirely different action, but yields a similar result. A knock in the worlds money
flow system, pay the creator, so the creator can pay the staff and the people watching can continue to
pay to watch. When that system is affected, those getting paid to continue the production of these
films, might not be able to be paid the same, or some of them might not

The Four Political Parties of Canada
In a country as vast and as culturally diverse as Canada, many different political opinions can be found
stretched across the country. From the affluent neighbourhoods of West Vancouver to the small fishing

Memories In Small Dulled Town By Margaret Laurence
Without memory is frightening. It feels like the big part of personal identity has taken away. It is hard
to imagine to live without memory from our experiences, such as without knowing who we are, what
our background, what our role, why are we here, etc. People need memories of the past to keep us
going on, instead of trying to keep reminded of our identity desperately. Good thing that most people
are capable of to keep memories with them so that they do not have to worry about writing everything
they do or think, unless if they want to. It is nice to entertain ourselves with memories of good times

Fate In The Play Oedipus By William Winter
Fate is always there. It always has, and it always will be there. We all can choose the decisions we
make, but fate cannot be changed, since it has already been predetermined. What happens will happen,
but what changes will not change fate. Fate is also what changes you, if you think about it. All the
events that have happened in the years of you being alive lead up to today; to who you are. All the
decisions you ve made would end up driving fate into taking its own toll on future, driving up to

Oedipus by Sophocles, Jocasta s (who is Oedipus s wife and mother) character would wind up
changing because of fate. She did not choose for or expect for things to have change in such a
negative way. Jocasta was forced to see her husband figure out that he was married to his mother She
begged Oedipus not to go any further in the search of his true identity. Perhaps she did this because
she was romantically in love with Oedipus, or maybe because she wanted things to stay as they were.

Benefits Of Traditional Food Products
While the country scores high marks from the World Bank Doing Business Report in enforcing
contracts, it ranks poorly in providing attractive conditions to start a business and protecting investors.
When talking about functional food products it is noticed that they are much less common in China
than in Western Europe and North America and the Chinese organic market is still in its infancy.
However, although still timid, organic and functional foods are starting to be present in supermarkets
and other caterings in China. Growing increasingly distrustful of local food sources, many people are
turning to organics and/or imported food items, which are perceived to be safer. Lesser trends have
also developed, including urban farming and dining out less frequently due to recent food scares.
Despite there being opportunity in China, we still don t recommend Eurochoice to enter the Chinese
market at the moment for a few reasons.
First of all, there is already a huge variety of different goods on the market. Secondly, local people
prefer traditional medicine to the healthy import foods, and in the end, Chinese economy is unstable
right now, and it is risky for an unknown company to launch a new product for a specific segment of
consumers.
But if the company is ready to take a risk, we have a few recommendations for launching and
branding nutrition products in China.

safety. Choose car seats according to age and size An infant cannot ride safely in a booster seat.
Likewise, a larger child should not be riding in a rear facing infant seat. Read the manufacturer labels

In this method, as soon as the raw bricks are cut to size, they are stacked on flatcars, slowly passed
through long, heated tunnels and after from 8 to 72 hours (depending on the type of brick) they are
dry. Now they are moved slowly through a long fire brick tunnel, where they are heated and cooled in
from 36 hours to four days, also depending on the type of brick. One of Portugal s largest brick
factories, located outside Lisbon, has a modern continuous car tunnel oven 180 m (590 feet) long!
When bricks were manufactured manually, their form and dimensions varied widely from region to
region, adapting themselves to the local necessities. However, even the Assyrians recognized the need
to standardize the dimensions of the most widely used bricks of their time. In Portugal, the National
Civil Engineering Laboratory made an inquiry of the principal factories as to the forms and
dimensions of bricks produced. The 44 factories that answered the inquiry produced 330 different
models! This great diversity caused many inconveniences, for manufacturer and consumer alike. As
bricks occupy a very important role in construction here in Portugal, standardization would be very
beneficial, not only as to quality, but also as to dimensions and materials. With the results of this
inquiry at hand, it was now necessary to determine how to limit the existing types. Ninety nine

The Invention Of The Scientific Revolution
Women in the Scientific Revolution
The scientific revolution is generally considered part of the broader intellectual revolution that began
with the Italian Renaissance and the rediscovery and translation of the classical writers, particularly
Aristotle, sometime during the fourteenth century. It is only in retrospect that one can understand
broad movements, such as this, but one can assert with confidence that the scientific revolution
resulted from a confluence of several factors, most particularly the rejection of the Ptolemaic model of
planetary movement combined with an increased interest in Aristotelian science (Grant, 1996). Thus,
the scientific revolution, insofar as it was a revolution rather than a developing, continuous process,
may be claimed to have begun in 1543 with the publication of Copernicus De revolutionibus orbium
coelestium, though establishing this as a boundary is as much a matter of convenience as anything else
(Linton, 2004). As an intellectual and cultural phenomenon, the scientific revolution continues to the
present, moving through such advances as Newtonian mechanics, the experimental method of
chemistry, advanced in anatomy and medicine, Darwinian evolution, relativity and quantum
mechanics, with myriad offshoots at every stage along the way of this development.
At the present, there is much dispute about how, or whether, the scientific revolution will end: some
think it will continue forever, while others believe it will culminate with

Colonial Era To The Romantic Era
As America sought to create their own literary voice following the Revolutionary War, the transition

throughout the 19th century. Marked by themes of individualism, idealism, and being in touch with
nature, Romanticism altered both the art and writing of the time and has certainly left a lasting impact
to this day.
Key changes observed in the artwork of the time included the used of warmer color tones and
portraits, such as the one discussed in our forum, featured women in a more relaxed position. These
modifications reflected the changing times as many people began to branch out from social norms and

Have you ever wondered what acts angered the colonists most during the American Revolution?
During this time, the American Revolution made colonists want to have independence. After every act
Parliament passed, it made the courage of independence more wanted to the colonists. The acts that
mostly made the colonists want independence were the Tea Act, Coercive Act, and The Stamp Act.
The Tea Act angered, and led the colonists wanting independence because the East India Company
made their tea really cheap and the British tea stayed expensive as it was before. Parliament made the

Book Review of King Leopold s Ghost, by Adam Hochschild
What some have considered to be the first international scandal of
the modern era took place in the Congo from 1890 until 1910. King Leopold
II of Belgium was at the head of this so called scandal. Although Europe
and the rest of the world seemed to have forgotten the victims of these
crimes, there is a considerable amount of material to use when attempting to
recreate the horror that took place in Leopold s Congo. This is exactly
what Adam Hochschild is attempting to do by writing this book. By using the

In Chapter 9, quot;Meeting Mr. Kurtz, quot; Hochschild provides a good
description of the novel, Heart of Darkness, and in the process enlightens
the reader about the true background and meaning to Joseph Conrad s novel.
Early in the book, Hochschild mentions the novel and how it has been studied
for Freudian overtones, mystic echoes, and its inward vision. According to
him, the book is more fact than fiction because there are many similarities
between the book and Conrad s very own travels into the Congo. In fact,
Hochschild calls the narrator of Heart of Darkness, Marlow, Conrad s alter
ego. Probably the biggest example of how the book is based on Conrad s own
travels is the fact that the stories villain, Mr. Kurtz, is clearly
inspired by a number of real people. These include George Antoine Klein,
Major Edmund Barttelot, and Captain Leon Rom, who probably is the real life
basis for Kurtz s most important signal, a collection of African heads
around his house. Heart of Darkness is given a completely new spin because
of Hochschild s interpretation.

wants borrow. Through the development of a credit approval system, Santander Consumer Finance

Measure The Potential Difference ( V ) And Current ( A )...
Physics Lab Report SIXTO LEONEL GUANO ROBAYO [ Group S 13] 05/12/2015 MEASURE
THE POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE (V) AND CURRENT (A) VALUES BY USING A VARIETY OF
RESISTORS, REMAINING CONSTANT EMF TO FIND OUT ITS INTERNAL RESISTANCE.
Academic year: 2015 16 Title Measure the potential difference (V) and current (A) values by using a
variety of resistors, remaining constant EMF to find out its internal resistance. Introduction Batteries
and cells have an internal resistance (r) which is measures in ohm s (W). When electricity flows round
a circuit the internal resistance of the cell itself resists the flow of current and so thermal (heat) energy
is wasted in the cell itself. (physicsnet.co.uk,2010).  = electromotive force in volts, V I = current in
amperes, A R = resistance of the load in the circuit in ohms, Ω r = internal resistance of the cell in
ohms, Ω  I Based in the previous statement we can establish that in the real world the EMF of a
battery or any other power supply, considered as the maximum potential difference, actually is not the
same potential difference we measure across the external circuit, this is due to the presence of an
internal resistance in our power supply. Plotting the data we collect about the potential difference and

Aaron Is An Nfl Star
Aaron Hernandez was an NFL star. He was a college player the University of Florida, Hernandez was
an All American player and a member of the BCS National Championship Team. He was drafted into
the New England Patriots in 2010, where he became the youngest active player on any roster in the
NFL (Aaron Hernandez Essay). He was only one of two tight end players on one of the leading teams
in the National Football League. During his 2010 season, he was named Rookie of the Week by Pepsi;
he played in his second season the Super Bowl in the NFL; and by his third year playing with the
Patriots he received the highest signing bonus of an NFL tight end in history. Other than all of that
Hernandez had a dark side to him that had a severe impact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hernandez not only imitated his father s sports star status playing for the Patriots, but also became
involved with criminals and took on the role of his father s gang type lifestyle and began using drugs.
His lifestyle choices almost prevented him from gaining his success as an athlete in the NFL. Despite
his obvious talents, NFL teams were wary of drafting Hernandez due to his admitted flunking of a
drug test. Privately, many teams also worried about his association with gang types from his home
neighborhood. He fell to the fourth round in the 2010 NFL draft before the New England Patriots
selected him with the 113th overall pick (Bio, 2015). Once he was drafted, Hernandez quickly proved
his professionalism as a football player. He had 45 catches in his first year, which was a Patriots team
record for the tight ends, helping the team secure the AFC Championship. In his second year, playing
alongside with Rob Gronkowski, he led the Patriots offense with 24 touchdowns and 2,237 receiving
yards, helping secure the team s position in the Super Bowl XLVI. Then in his third year he was
injured, but was still positioned to become a leader of the team, which was recognized by the Patriots
with his sizable signing bonus (A E, 2015). Although Hernandez would not be indicted for murder
until 2013, his legal problems began in early 2007, while still attending the University of Florida.

The Moral Standards Of Professional Athletes
There is a lot of controversy regarding the moral standards of professional athletes. Some think that
they deserve the same treatment as any other person while others feel they should be placed under
higher moral standards. The bottom line is that athletes are under constant watch of fans and media
and are role models for the youth in our society, thus they need to be moral leaders as much as they
are sports role models. This means that they are to be placed under higher moral standards. Being a
professional athlete is like any other job, they choose this career. It is not available to everybody so it
is a privilege for those who qualify, therefore they get the responsibility that comes with the job title.
There is no doubt that sports are one of the biggest aspects of a young child s life. It is readily
available to them and is entertaining. A lot of young people have their favorite player, or their favorite
team and are constantly watching and following their lead. They are trying to step up into the shoes of
their role model and become as good as their hero. This means that the athlete must set the correct
path for the young people to follow. They must be set the right moral guidelines. Kids are going to
grow up and try to be just like these athletes and it is the responsibility of that athlete to give them the
correct image to strive for. Professional athletes are bound to an important constriction, an employer
employee bond. What this means is, like any other

  • 2. Role of Women During and After the Age of Revolutions Essay There have been many stereotypical views and misconceptions about the role of women during and after the age of revolutions. Although the role of women did change, it is important to understand their position before the revolutions in order to wager how their role changed and of course, to what extent. It would be unrealistic to assume that all women during this period fell into one category. There are many factors to consider and so it is vital to address how different types of women behaved in their varied working and living environments. In pre industrial Europe the life of a single woman can be regarded as extremely difficult from an economic perspective. Most single women, irrespective of age, belonged to a family, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The French Revolution was going to make the lives of all Frenchmen better, why not for the women as well? That is exactly how Olympe De Gouges a devoted enthusiast of the French Revolution felt. She saw that there was something more to reach for. The stirring winds of the revolution blew back the curtains and showed women that they could and should be living a life with the same opportunities and rights that men have. Olympe De Gouges wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens, her work was echoing the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen. She wrote this statement in order to claim equal legal rights for women and the protection of civil rights among wives and mothers. Olympe De Gouges goal was to open the eyes of women that they haven t gained any advantages in the French Revolution, that women need to summon the forces of reason against their hopeless affectation of supremacy. According to the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens Olympe De Gouges says it is in your power to overturn them. What she means by them are the men that stand in their way of equality, that the old regime is over with and it s time to be seen something else other than ...a brainless person (p.99). • 3. Examples Of Voyeurism In Rear Window AWe re a race of Peeping Toms. People ought to get out of their homes and look at themselves. What is the film s message about the ethics of voyeurism? Voyeurism is originally defined as the practice of gaining sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity . However, the term is also used to describe a general spying on, or having interest in, other people s lives. This kind of voyeurism is the central theme for Alfred Hitchcock s mystery thriller, Rear Window (1954). The film follows the boredom induced curiosity of photographer L.B. Jeff Jefferies. After the journey ends, we are left to contemplate the morality surrounding voyeurism, and Hitchcock s own proposal about the nature of the practice. Voyeurism in its generic form, has long been considered unethical due to its invasive nature. Most people would agree that spying on others is an invasion of privacy, and would look down on those peering into other s lives. This viewpoint is expressed in the opening scene of the film by Jefferies insurance worker, Stella. She makes her entrance stating that The New York state sentence for a peeping tom is six months in the workhouse... . She goes on to say that his behaviour has her smelling trouble right here in [his] apartment and mimics his hypothetical court appearance. Lisa Freemont, Jefferies girlfriend, also comments on the issue, first when Jefferies tells her of his suspicions of Lars Thorwald; labelling his wild opinions as diseased while defensively giving alternate reasons for all of Jefferies questions about Thorwald. Including these women, no character in the film, initially, encourages Jefferies voyeurism. Instead they explicitly downplay and dismiss it. Both Stella and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Separation Anxiety Disorders And Children Essay Separation Anxiety Disorders in Parents and Children Christa Conrad Antelope Valley College Introduction to Psychology PSY101 Professor Laurel Johnson Monday, November 14, 2016 Abstract The differences between Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and the similar disorder, Attachment Anxiety Disorder, were examined to show that the disorders are alike. The causes of Separation Anxiety Disorder and the symptoms in which a child could be diagnosed were discussed. Following that, the treatments that were presently available and ways parents could do to counter the onset of this disorder were observed. Lastly, examples presented of the research studies were observed on a thirteen year old boy and a two year old pointer cross. Both examples showed how both mother and owner of the dog could figure out how the son and the dog were diagnosed and how they were treated. Separation Anxiety disorder Separation anxiety disorder is a condition that causes a child severe distress when away from the parents or the caregivers. Studies show that 4 5% of children and adolescents typically have this disorder. This paper will provide an overview of the present understandings of SAD. Wade Supreme Court Case New Mexico State University Jennifer Walker Abstract The Roe versus Wade Supreme Court Case has had a huge impact on abortion laws in the United States. Before 1973, abortions were illegal and criminal, with few exceptions. Overnight, the decision in the case legalized first trimester abortions while leaving the specifications of the other trimesters up to the states. This case has led to many debates over the value of life and when life begins whether at conception, independence from mother, or first breath. Though the number of abortions has definitely increased from after the Roe versus Wade case, this is likely do to the reporting of abortions rather than the legality of the abortions. Ideological/Value Perspective Both the value one places on life and the question of when life begins plays a huge role in the debate over abortion. Though people who are not part of a religion or are not spiritual have their own beliefs, much of the debate does come from a religious perspective. So when does human life begin? Some believe it is the moment of conception, others at the time when the baby can live independently from the mother, and still others believe it is when the baby takes his/her first breath. This is important because depending on when a person believes a life is valuable or that a fetus becomes a person, may make an impact on whether or not an individual is for or against abortion. As stated earlier, religion plays a large role in a person s beliefs as well. According to Stephens, Jordens, Kerridge, and Ankeny (2010), the Catholic and Lutheran religions believe life begins at conception and that this life has to right to live. Some Catholics even believe abortion is homicide. For the Jewish faith, conception is the beginning of life; however, the mother s already existing life is more important than the fetus. If the mother s life is at risk, an abortion may be an option. In Islam, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, again when it comes to specific use of tenses (such as present continuous used for planned future) he gets lost. Reading: I ve observed him in class and he seems to not like particularly reading tasks, when he s doing pair work he starts making up jokes and gets easily distracted. But then when he arrives at the activity after the reading he enjoys it more and starts concentrate. Generally speaking with Corrado we have to consider that he s an elementary student and he makes many mistakes because he tries to use complicated structures for his level such as present perfect and relative clauses. I think the best thing about Corrado is that he s very enthusiastic and he s a natural leader in the group so when he likes an activity (which most of the times he does exept maybe for reading) he s able to draw the whole class. Plato s theory is broken down into three separate parts: reason, spirit, and body appetites. Plato defines reason to be the ability to use logic and language, while spirit is the emotional drives humans feel such as anger or love. And, he defines body appetites as essentials that the body requires to survive like food, water, and sex. Additionally, Plato states that together these parts create a living organism or a human soul whose purpose is to be in a healthy state. To attain the soul s healthy state all of the three parts must be balance and such balance is only achieved when the element of reason leads spirit and body appetites. Otherwise the soul will come across a dysfunction, which can cause further effects. For example, let s say individual X s soul is not lead by reason, but instead by spirit; and one day X discovers that his girlfriend cheated. Obesity is one of the major risk factors for gallstones, especially in women. A large clinical study showed that being even moderately overweight increases one s risk for developing gallstones. Secondly, excess estrogen from pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy or birth control pills appears to increase cholesterol levels in bile and decrease gallbladder movement, both of which can lead to gallstones. Ethnicity is another important factor. According to scientists, Native Americans have a genetic predisposition to secrete high levels of cholesterol in bile. In fact, they have the highest rates of gallstones in the United States. A majority of Native American men have gallstones by age 60. Among the Pima Indians of Arizona, 70 percent of women have gallstones by age 30. Mexican Americans men and women of all ages also have high rates of gallstones. The fourth factor is Cholesterol lowering drugs. Drugs that lower cholesterol levels in blood actually increase the amount of cholesterol secreted in bile. This in turn can increase the risk of gallstones.

  • 28. The Impact Of Movie Piracy In The Film Industry Most people, no matter what social class they´re in, have watched a pirated movie. By definition, movie piracy is the illegal duplicating of movies for sale or any personal use. Or in other words, if you want to watch a movie, you have to pay for it. No matter, if you pay for a movie ticket, a D.V.D. or pay to stream it online, that payment goes to many different levels of people who help make the movie. The latest movement to attack the American society is movie pirating. In any city, it is easy to find individuals selling pirated copies of movies illegally. A great number of the world´s black market business is represented by pirated movies. The use and invention of the internet allowed for creation and expansion of downloading, sharing files and editing files. Pirates around the world used this innovation in technology to their advantage. Movie piracy has become a plague to the world´s economy because of the theft of over millions from the film industry. What an average person probably would not understand is that watching an illegal movie is not just some simple thing. The film industry, or the movie making business, supports well over 2.5 million of the world´s jobs. Which goes to say, the film industry holds a huge part of the nation´s economy. The sale of movies and their proceeds leads to taxable revenue, taxable revenue that goes towards new roads, wages, development of advanced neighborhoods, schools, and bridges. The supporting action of those not creating the illegal films, are also affecting the economy. Basically, stealing from the filmmakers by purchasing illegal copies of their movies. Instead of paying the filmmaker for their movie, so they can then pay their studio and they can in return pay their actors, producers, crew, crew help, and more. The production of illegal copies of movies are one thing. The support of these productions is an entirely different action, but yields a similar result. A knock in the worlds money flow system, pay the creator, so the creator can pay the staff and the people watching can continue to pay to watch. When that system is affected, those getting paid to continue the production of these films, might not be able to be paid the same, or some of them might not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, although still timid, organic and functional foods are starting to be present in supermarkets and other caterings in China. • 35. The Invention Of The Scientific Revolution Women in the Scientific Revolution The scientific revolution is generally considered part of the broader intellectual revolution that began with the Italian Renaissance and the rediscovery and translation of the classical writers, particularly Aristotle, sometime during the fourteenth century. It is only in retrospect that one can understand broad movements, such as this, but one can assert with confidence that the scientific revolution resulted from a confluence of several factors, most particularly the rejection of the Ptolemaic model of planetary movement combined with an increased interest in Aristotelian science (Grant, 1996). Thus, the scientific revolution, insofar as it was a revolution rather than a developing, continuous process, may be claimed to have begun in 1543 with the publication of Copernicus De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, though establishing this as a boundary is as much a matter of convenience as anything else (Linton, 2004). As an intellectual and cultural phenomenon, the scientific revolution continues to the present, moving through such advances as Newtonian mechanics, the experimental method of chemistry, advanced in anatomy and medicine, Darwinian evolution, relativity and quantum mechanics, with myriad offshoots at every stage along the way of this development. At the present, there is much dispute about how, or whether, the scientific revolution will end: some think it will continue forever, while others believe it will culminate with ...
