Film About A Foster Child Essay
Is there a film about a foster child living in new home that could make someone felt emotional
and intense? There is a film named Maisie moving into her new home that was in the year of 2011
that was filming about a foster family trying to get along with their adopted foster child named
Maisie and Maisie had temper issues that caused the former foster familyto send her back to the
care center to be adopted again. The only foster parent that did not send Maisie back to the care
center to be adopted again were Jim and Sue that did not give on trying to help Maisie recover
her temper issues that was caused by the harsh environment that she had experience from living
with her biological parent. Jim and Sue had decided to send Maisie to the therapy session in
order to help her recover her temper issues eventually Maisie had made a full recovery of her
temper issues and finally were able to get along with her current foster parent. The current foster
parent that live with Maisie that was shown in the film relate with the multidimensional approach,
two theories, life course perspective, Piaget s cognitive theory, and implication for my social work
practice.
For starter the multidimensional approach of the three approaches like for the person, environment,
and time that relate to the film that influence Maisie from the movie. For example like for the
people with Maisie is the adopted foster parent named Jim and Sue that are remarkable couple that

Enterprise Architecture Framework Paper
Enterprise Architecture
In this research paper we will be discussing The Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework
(FEAF) FEAF is business driven and is the U.S. Federal Government s answer to enterprise
architecture that provides a framework for complex established systems to be able to share
information technology across agencies. We will be discussing a case analysis that covers the five
interrelated reference models that is used to bring commonality and consistent enterprise
architecture for the improvement of the government agencies adopting FEAF. Like the other
frameworks FEAF is an abstract view and are covered by the 5 FEAF reference models. These
models are designed to facilitate communication, cooperation, and ... Show more content on

The strengths of FEAF is the flushing out of duplicated efforts between Agencies once the
framework is applied. This opens the door to collaboration providing opportunities to continue to
share information between the Agencies involved. By identifying duplicated efforts a larger
Return on Investment (ROI) can be achieved. When the framework is applied and the Agencies
principles are identified strategic goals can be reached. Another benefit to the FEAF approach
is a design to help eliminate duplication of effort which leads to waste. Another is the being able
to develop a common approach to government, industry standards that are legally compliant. Of
the legal mandates the Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 says that Federal Agencies must develop and
maintain enterprise architecture. (2) Of the many EA frameworks FEAF has the most coverage
but it still does not cover all the desired aspects of EA. The weakness in FEAF is that it is
designed for federal agencies. While this is good it does not necessarily fit corporations unless you
are catering to Federal Agencies. Centers for Medicare amp; Medicaid Services uses FEAF to build
their business architecture, data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture.
These architectures are what maintain the CMS EA tool called Troux Architect. This tool allows
for the alignment Office of Management and Budget s FEAF. (1) Being able

Percy Jackson Book Comparison
Have you ever read the Percy Jackson books and/or Carter Kane books? If not I think you
should, they are fantastic books as Percy and Carter are both very brave. A character trait that
they both share is being brave. The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus are by Rick
Riordan as are The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow. Except The Lightning Thief
through The Blood Of Olympus stars Percy Jackson, and The Red Pyramid through The Serpent
s Shadow stars Carter Kane. Percy Jackson and Carter Kane both have to fight evil and save the
world. My first reason, is that they both have to fight evil. An example is, about Percy is, he had
to fight an evil Titan, Kronos, and win. Kronos was and is a Titan who once devoured his
children that are gods this is another way that they are alike. He had to choose between giving
Luke the knife or not. He chose to give Luke the knife, Luke then stabbed Kronos as Luke was in
control of Kronos. Carter had to fight the god of evil, Set, he was trying to turn the world to chaos
and/or evil. Set had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One piece of evidence is, Percy had to return the lighting bolt to Zeus and succeed in which he
did, this where they are different and alike in a way. Carter had to return the golden scarab to
Zeus. He had to do that so gods don t start a war. If the gods had started a war the world would be
a warzone with only a few traces of human life form left behind. My second piece of evidence is
Carter had to fight Apophis this is a way Percy and Carter are alike, they both had to fight a
higher up more powerful being. I know I ve mentioned this before, but Carter has to defeat the god
of chaos and/or send him deep enough into the Duat so that Apophis can t come back to the surface
of the earth. If/When Apophis is sent into the Duat deep enough their world won t be entirely safe

The Bible, The Word `` Covenant ``
Despite the continuous disobedience and failures from God s people, His love for humanity is so
deep and faithful that He made promises to His people so that they would rebuild their relationship
and fellowship with Him once again. In the Bible, the word covenant is used to describe the
relationship between both God and man. God blesses those who receive the promises because of
their faith and their commitments to His commandments. His covenants with His people give an
important theme for Christianitybecause it still upholds truth to today s society and future
generations to come.
The first covenant God made with His people after the fall of Adam and Eve was the Noahic
covenant. This covenant was made during the time where only one man Noah, was able to make
God smile and stay faithful to God s plan despite the continuous sinful actions made by the other
people. This covenant shows God s grace towards humanity and their disobedience towards His
commands. The Noahic covenant lays down the foundation for the existence of humankind. It also
addresses in particular the matter of capital punishment that took place during this time. Genesis
9:12 13 states, And God said, This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you
and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow
in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. This covenant was
set after God flooded and destroyed the earth,

Island Fox Research Paper
Introduction
The island foxes (Urocyon littoralis) are a unique species of small carnivores that only live on
the Channel Islands located off the coast of Southern California. The island fox is about 12
inches high, weights 2.5 to 6 pounds, and has a grizzled gray hair color along the top of the head
and back. Along the abdomen, neck and legs it has a more cinnamon coloring, and white along the
cheeks and throat to the chest (Friends of the Island Fox, 2012). According to Levy (2010) Island
foxes are a keystone species. They play a powerful role in controlling various prey species in the
island ecosystem including the island spotted skunk, deer mouse, and black rat populations. The
California Channel Islands consist of eight islands and on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to Clifford et al., The total population for the species in 1994 was approximately
6,000 adults but current population size is less than half that, and island foxes have declined by
over 90% on four of six islands (p. 442). By 1995 ecological monitoring on San Miguel and Santa
Cruz Islands in the national park had detected rapid and alarming declines in the populations of
island foxes there Faced with the imminent extinction of three island fox subspecies, NPS convened
ad hoc recovery team in 1999 to assess the status on the northern Channel Islands and to recommend
emergency recovery actions. The team, comprising experts in canid conservation, endangered
species management, and raptor research and management, concluded that island foxes were
rapidly declining toward extinction on the northern Channel Islands. National Park began
emergency recovery actions in 1999, with the objectives being to remove the primary mortality
factor now affecting island foxes, and to recover island fox populations to viable levels through
captive breeding. On the Channel Islands, the golden eagle predation had been confirmed as the
primary mortality

##rtance Of Minnie Hale In Susan Glaspell s A Jury Of Her...
Once Minnie Foster became Minnie Wright, she was a mere speck living in her husband s
world. She is described by Mrs. Hale as young and lively, She used to wear pretty clothes and be
lively when she was Minnie Foster, one of the town girls, singing in the choir (Glaspell 507).
Although her presence in her marriage was small, she holds a major presence in Susan Glaspell s,
A Jury of Her Peers , without even being physically present. Minnie is present in the minds of both
Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale once they step foot into her home with symbols such as the kitchen, the
rocker, the birdcage, the dead canary, and the busted preserve jars. Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale use
the birdcage, the dead canary, and the busted preserve jars to conclude Minnie Wright lived in a
broken home with a broken marriage which led to Minnie Wright s that both women deemed
justifiable. Before Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale step foot into Minnie Wright s kitchen, they
nervously stood outside already feeling Minnie Wright s presence. Mrs. Hale is described by the
narrator as, Even after she had her foot on the door step, her hand on the knob, Martha Hale had a
moment of feeling she could not cross that threshold (Glaspell 502). Mrs. Hale feels as if she
cannot cross that threshold because she had never crossed it before. There were plenty of times
where she felt that she should have visited Minnie Wright, but now that she is actually there
without Minnie Wright physically being present, there is something

Mentoring For Senior Professional Field
Mentoring is an interregnal part of every professional field. Organizations that pursue future
improvement and development focus on mentoring by means of inviting internal and external
professionals to mentor junior members. Mentoring is a rather complex subject and often takes
serious preparation on the part of a mentor. Just being an experienced professionalis not enough for
becoming a good mentor for juniors. Mentoring is a responsible activity, which requires high levels
of patience, professionalism, ethics, enthusiasm, tolerance and skills. Even though most of
organizations mention highly developed training programs, in practice mentoring is still a new
territory for most of them and often the professionals cannot properly explain what actually makes a
good mentor and what efficient mentoring should include.
The field of engineering is one of the professional spheres where young specialists are in high
demand since there is a growing skills shortage in this field. To be able to function effectively in
the future, engineering companies must take the issue of skills and professional scarcity seriously
and improve mentoring methods in order to prepare highly qualified workers for the future.
The word mentor comes from ancient Greek mythology, Mentor was the name of the teacher of
Odysseus s son (Miller 3). Today this word is used to refer to wise and reliable supervisors. First of
all, mentoring is based on a relationship between a mentor and a protГ©gГ©. The success

Essay on Alabama Moon by Watt Key
Soapstone: Alabama Moon
Characters:
In the novel Alabama Moon a boy named Moon is the main character. Moon is very independent
because throughout the story he does a lot of things on his own including living alone. On page
3 I found out that he was ten years old because it said I was ten years old and he d taught me
everything I needed to know about living out in the forest. So this showed me that he knew how
to live in his own out in the forest and that he was ten years old which was pretty young to be
living on his own out in the forest. At first when Moon was scared and lonely without his dad he
was aggressive with the other characters. On page 27 Moon really showed his anger toward

I like living in the forest. I don t know where else I d live, but I don t wanna be by myself. We
were always by ourselves. We didn t ever see anybody except Mr.Abroscotto. This quote shows
how Moon is developing through the story. That is how the main character is developed through the
story and how the main character interacts with the other characters.
Ideas:
The main idea through the beginning of the story is Moon trying to survive in the forest by
himself and trying to fight off everyone. Then over time Moon realizes that he doesn t want to
live in the forest anymore and fight against anyone anymore. The conflict in the story happens a
lot in the beginning of the story because Moon is trying to stay hidden but then towards the end
of the story he doesn t want to be alone for the rest of his life and fight off everyone that tries to
take him away or help him. On page 3 he said Pap said he even figured I could whip somebody
three times my size. He wasn t worried about me. So that quote shows that he was thinking that
he could just beat up anyone that tried to take him away from the forest or anything else. But
later in the story when he found out that he couldn t just do that and get away with it he stopped
doing it. On page 239 Moon was talking to a policeman and the policeman said, You re not gonna
bit me or nothin , are you? Nossir. I m not aimin to try and whip up on anybody anymore. I don t
aim to bust out of anywhere, either.

Persuasive Essay On Sleep Deprivation
Introduction: Sleep is as essential to the human body as food and water, but sometimes sleep
quality and quantity is inadequate and this is known as sleep deprivation (SD). Sleep deprived
people are sleepy and fatigued making them prone to accidents, impairing their judgement and
they are more likely to make mistakes and bad decisions. Not sleeping for 24 hours reduces hand
to eye coordination, which can be compared to having a blood alcohol content of 0.1 and
contributes to road accidents and work injuries. A child s school performance is negatively
affected by the lack of sleep and may cause emotional problems such as depression. Sleep deprived
adults suffer from lack concentration, irritability, sleep inertia and a grogginess that lasts... Show

Poor sleep hygiene some people s habits are disruptive; for example, drinking coffee or smoking
cigarettes close to bedtime stimulates the nervous system and makes sleep less likely. Another
common problem is lying in bed and worrying, rather than relaxing. Babies, older babies and
toddlers parents almost always experience SD because their young children wake frequently in the
night for feeding or comfort. [1] Psychological Effects: 1.a.Depression This investigation builds
upon past findings by evaluating sleep problems as cross sectional and longitudinal predictors of
interviewer assessed suicidal ideation and attempts, in direct comparison with depression,
hopelessness, PTSD diagnosis, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, in a military sample. The present
study revealed that insomnia symptoms served as a unique predictor of suicidal ideation assessed
cross sectionally, and for suicidal ideation and suicide attempt longitudinally (though the latter only
held when controlling for only depression, hopelessness and baseline suicidal ideation, which are
still strong predictors of death by suicide). This is a stringent test, given that depression is among
the strongest predictors of suicide risk, and considering that insomnia and suicidality are symptoms
of depression and highly associated with PTSD. [5] Although insomnia and nightmares were
significantly associated with depressive and suicidal symptoms, after controlling for additional

Latin American Cultures Midterm
Section 1 Question 1 Throughout the pre Columbus era in Latin America, The Mayas, Aztecs, and
Incas built unique civilizations, each with its own distinctive achievements, creating distinctive
cultures to unite their individual societies. The Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas not only shared many
similarities in the ways they built their civilizations, but also had differing characteristics that made
each people its own. Civilization in the Americas originated as early as 7000 B.C. as a result of a
land bridge between Asia and the Americas, formed when the Bering Strait connecting current day
Russia with Alaska united the two continents during the Ice Age. The humans who crossed the land
bridge, mostly hunter gatherers, eventually developed advanced civilizations throughout North and
South America. By around 900 B.C., the Olmec civilization one of the first advanced civilizations
in the Americas populated parts of Mexico and Central America, where they developed
advancements such as building the first pyramids. About 200 years later, descendants of the
Olmecs emerged the Maya, Zapotec, Totonac, and TeotihuacГЎn civilizations. Over time, the
Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas emerged as subsequent descendants of the first humans who populated the
Americas. The Mayan civilization emerged as early as 2000 B.C. in Mesoamerica, Southern Mexico

Inoperable Brain Tumors Research Paper
Is There Treatment for Inoperable Brain Tumors? A person has a 0.55 0.7% chance of developing
any type of brain tumor in their lifetime (Mohammadi and Schroeder 1). A brain tumor is a mass
of abnormal cells located somewhere in the brain. Brain tumors can be caused by many different
disorders including Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). Some tumors caused by this disorder are
inoperable. Inoperable braintumors can now be treated using new advanced technology.
Technological advances provide new hope for patients who have inoperable brain tumors and
TSC. TSC is a rare genetic disorder that is the source of benign (noncancerous) tumors located in
the brain, heart, kidneys, and other organs (Mayo Clinic Staff). In most cases TSC is diagnosed
early in infancy, but in other cases it is not diagnosed for several years. In certain cases, patients
have such mild signs that the disorder will go undiagnosed. One in six thousand people have
been diagnosed with TSC. Although this is a rare disease, awareness is building and multiple
TSC clinics have been built across the country to assists those with the disorder. TSC is caused by
a genetic mutation in the TSC1 or TSC2 gene. The mutations in these genes cause several lesions
in the body to appear. This is caused by the excessive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Anticipation and Suspense in the Adventure of the Speckled...
How does Conan Doyle create a sense of anticipation and suspense in the Adventure of the Speckled
Band?
The Adventure of the Speckled Band is a classic mystery novel. It is so in the way that it uses
several writing techniques to create a sense of ambiguity and vagueness. Conan Doyle makes
sure to leave the reader with as little information as possible and to make it hard to foresee what
will happen next. This is all to have them anticipate the ending and the solving of the mystery, to
keep them gripped. Even the very title of the novel is unclear and does well to conjure up ideas
inside the readers mind. It is only until the whole story is took in and the ending is unveiled that
the reader can fully appreciate and

The meeting of Helen Stoner is very important. She is described as having veiled and fully black
attire. This suggests that she is in mourning. She is also described as having frightened eyes, like
those of a hunted animal, and being very agitated and trembling. Conan Doyle regularly uses this
technique of showing the reader the symptom before a cause is established. It is much more
shocking. This is all to construct the readers sympathy for Helen Stoner, but also instigate fear in
whatever it is she fears. Conan Doyle also uses this meeting as a means to show the reader the
significance of apparently minor and trivial clues in the story that unfolds. Sherlock Holmes deduces
Helen s mode of travel by observing that she has the second half of a train ticket in the palm of
her hand. This allows him to safely assume that Helen has travelled to him by train that morning.
This technique warns the reader to be on lookout for what may seem like trivial details if they
want to try to solve the mystery. It also allows Conan to throw in some red herrings in order to
divert the reader and throw them off the trail.
Helen Stoner goes on to describe her family and her circumstances, in particularly her Stepfather.
Her description of him suggests to the reader that he is monstrous, brutal and feared by everyone.
In a fit of anger, however, caused by

Self harm may be used to manage pain from an earlier life experience over which the person had
no control such as physical or emotional abuse. While not every client will use self harming
behaviors to deal with emotional pain, I feel that the knowledge of these behaviors will be
important in the field of helper that I am aspiring to work in. Self harm can also be called self
injury, self inflicted violence, or self injurious behaviors. These names refer to a spectrum of
behaviors where injuries are self inflicted. Self mutilation can also be used to describe these
behaviors but this term can be offensive. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders self harm is a symptom of borderline personality disorder only and does not have a

Induction And Hypnotic Induction
Prior to going directly to the hypnotic induction techniques, it is necessary to know the meaning
of the word induction , and its usage and application in the field of hypnotism; therefore, one
definition was chosen how this word is used in psychology and hypnotism. The Cambridge
Dictionary of Psychology (Matsumoto, 2009) defines the word induction as A form of logical

psychology it defines the word as Any act or process of bringing about a change, as of inducing a

Trader Joe s Marketing Model
Introduction Founded in 1958 by Joe Coulombe and now established with more than 365 stores in
the United States, Trader Joe s has been serving customers with their unique business model.
Trader Joe s specializes in organic and natural food offering staples like milk, eggs, and other
foods with below average price points. Trader Joe s encourage their customers to buy the product at
a low price without having to be registered with the store. Once the company makes contacts with
the manufacturer of the particular foodproduct, it then establishes contracts with the producer to the
supply the food and allocates the space needed in their store (Trader Joe s, 2016).
Analysis
Trader Joe s sells gourmet foods to its customers with a low cost business model, which may
seem very difficult to maintain, due to the rising costs in the international markets and the United
States. However, with Trader Joe s long term experience in operations and limited variety of
products, this enables the company to reduce costs and transfer those savings to their customers.
Furthermore, Trader Joe s has a very efficient management process that allows keeping the product
costs down to keep their customers satisfied. The management process is very significant for
Trader Joe s in which they have planned marvelously to carry certain products which is obtained at
a discounted price from their suppliers. Additionally, Trader Joe s keep costs down to a minimum

The And Of The Metal Ammonia
The rapid decreases in 5V as TMD, FeSc or host material is added to the metal ammonia,
10 suggest that the fraction of solvated electron is radiply decreasing. This means that these free
solvated electrons started to immigrant to host samples valence band or fermi band(see section
2.3.1) after that the guest spicies are nestled in the centers of the crystal structure of host spicies.
The intercalation of metal ammonia (if this clarication is correct) enhances the lattice match,
thereby advancing the intercalation process. To enhance the lattice match, the ions size of guest
material and the d spacing or c0 of host guets should be proportional to each others. Thus, the rst
one(ioniserted guest material) should be smaller than the later one, host material. Ions size may be

At the point when an atom loses an electron to edge a cation, the lost electron no more contributes
to shielding other electrons from the charge of the core; thus, alternate electrons are all the more

the outcome that the extent of the atom increments[7].

Essay On Far-Right
The most prominent example of the conservative far right confronting the more liberal centrist
/leftist factions happened in November of 2016 when the Americans had to choose a president
between a conservative candidate whose platform was deeply rooted in xenophobia, tolerance of
hate speech and misogyny, and a more moderate candidate whose platform was based around
maintaining the legacy of the previous administration while securing the rights of the
disadvantaged. While some countries that also faced this decision, such as France and Austria,
went for the more liberal candidate, the Americans voted for the lousy bigot whose platform would
only benefit the oligarchy by taking away the few benefits minorities possess. Ever since Trump s...

I will employ navigational capital in order to obtain an education and by doing so, fight against
the toxic narratives that the conservative media tries to push upon society by being able to call
them out in their bigotry. The reason why I would need to use my navigational capital to achieve
my educational goals is that, historically speaking, higher education institutions have not been
supportive of oppressed communities. This situation might worsen given that the volatile Donald
Trump has threatened to pull out funds from universities whose ideologies do not align with his,
such as was the case for the University of California at Berkeley, with whom Trump had an
altercation after the students at the campus rioted to protest the presence of the misogynistic and
racist Milo Yiannopoulos. Later on, Trump took to social media to express how he was willing
to take away federal funding for the university (Nelson, 2017). Seeing how turbulent the attitude
of the incumbent president is and how he and people who share his mentality are rather
machiavellian individuals whose main interest is to keep oppressing minorities, it is not a
surprise that they will try to make the educational systems more difficult to approach. It is in this
situation that I will have to utilize my navigational capital in order to carry myself through a
system that was made more difficult for people like me. Luckily, as a gay immigrant of color, I

Compare and Contrast a Technical Approach to Innovation
Innovation has traditionally been seen as technical issue concerned only with machinery and
systems. Compare and contrast this technical approach to innovation with the more knowledge
centred approaches discussed on this course. Your answer should draw upon case study evidence to
critically assess the value of the two approaches.
Innovation is a key element of modern business. In a world full of modern industrialised nations it
is essential for big business to innovate. Ed Rhodes and David Wield identify innovation as; the
implementation of new technologies (Rhodes, E, 1994, page 79) for a firm to rise above its
adversaries and create brand loyalty innovation is key. There are two fields of innovation, Ed

Innovation follows science (Chris Land, 2006, Lecture 2) scientific discoveries since the spinning
jenny in the industrial revolution have changed the way our industries operate. There are many
fields of science; the typical view of science is technological, biological, chemical, and physically
orientated; i.e. science is tangible and therefore the widely known view of innovations relates to
these tangible sciences; dyson vacuum cleaners, the spinning jenny; both technological innovations.
Today, there are intangible sciences such as the science of Management, where new theories and
innovations on how to motivate the workforce, organise strategies, market strategies and the
management of strategic core competencies have revolutionised the industry. Knowledge
innovation is creativity and logic put to strategies of how to go about doing things, opposed to
technical innovation as creativity and logic put to the research and development of a new product.
James Dyson said about innovation, It s the unlikely juxtaposition of creativity and logic which
causes the wooliness and confusion around the term innovation . (James Dyson, Ingenia, Issue 24,
2005, page 32)

When price is $20.6, the quantity is 1,242,425 and profit is $101, we come near to break even point.
To sum up, if Superior reduces the price of product 101, its profit will increase significantly to

Sperm Whale Encounter Rare, Exciting
Part of the reason the sperm whale encounter is so much of an adventure, is due to the fact that
sperm whales are on the endangered species list and considered vulnerable according to the

Art has an interesting way of reinforcing itself through popular culture in western society. A culture
that has a population mixed with many different racial identities, yet cultivates its pop culture
through a black and white preface. The U.S is known to categorize diverse races into one;
highlighting the inferiority other races face while living within our culture. Women have been
idealized and compounded into western society as sex symbols and housewives. Women from other
races non white or Black are not only seen the same way, but are also included in the melting pot of
diluted racial identities formatted from whitening groups. Racial identity hardly sways the

reinforce in western culture that derives from improper stereotyping and labeling. Historically,
women are subject to unbound methods of reinforcing genderroles. Today, their sexuality is
exploited so frequently in popular culture, that they have become a sex object, rather than a
housewife. Tom Fords image of a naked female ironing men s pants grasps the concept of both
stereotypes, appealing to the young adults in the United States. Initially, this ad promotes the
ideology of mans superiority over women. Understanding how gender is really portrayed in western
popular culture allows individuals to conceptualize the inferior attitude many ads display towards
women. Through methods of observation,

Arsenic Research Papers
Brianna Cross10/28/16 Chemistry Essay Arsenic Arsenic is one of the most toxic elements that
can be found on Earth. Arsenic has a symbol of As and an atomic number of 33. It is a metalloid
which gives it both metal and nonmetal characteristics. Arsenic has many allotropes, but the gray
form is important for industry. The three main allotropes are metallic gray, black, and yellow.
Gray arsenic is brittle and has a low hardness (based on the Moh s hardness scale) yet a high
density. Yellow arsenic is soft and waxy. It is least dense and most toxic. It is also transformed into
gray arsenic by light. Black arsenic is brittle and glassy. It is a poor electrical conductor as well.
Inorganic and organic compounds of arsenic are found in many places among the earth. Arsenic is
discovered in the environment from both nature and certain human activities. Arsenic is usually
found in soils, sediments, and groundwater. The process of mining, ore smelting, and industrial use
of arsenic can result in these inorganic compounds meeting the surface. Organic arsenic compounds

ANALYSIS OF TYPES OF STUDENT TEACHER INTERACTIONS IN THE CLASSROOM

INTRODUCTION
One of the most important components of successful science teaching is the use of effective
questioning (Clough, 2007). Abraham and Schlitt (1973) argue that, Teaching requires continuous
analysis of both student and teacher behaviors and subsequent modificationof classroom
performance. They also say teachers must be their own critics if continuous analysis is to occur
(Abraham amp; Schlitt, 1973). The topic that I chose to focus on analyzing are the interactions,
such as questioning and responding, that take place between teachers and their students. Given the

The way teacher questions are worded does make a difference in student response. (Herman, 2008
pp. 16) Herman (2008) found that teachers were more likely to elicit extended answers through
the use of more open ended questions. After reading these articles, I was convinced that I needed
to improve my own questioning skills, which lead me to use the SATIC model for a self evaluation
of my use of questioning in the classroom.
METHODS
The tool that I will use to help answer this question is the SATIC (Student and Teacher
Interaction Coding) (Abraham amp; Schlitt, 1973) which is a tool that was developed for
monitoring certain teacher behaviors. In order to better understand how the SATIC works and
interpret the results, Abraham and Schlitt (1973) explain the use of the SATIC instrument; its
history, uses, and implementation, along with a coding sheet to help the user analyze the data
they have collected. I will use the SATIC to analyze a 15 minute of a section of the lesson and
the coding sheet to quantify teaching behaviors and types of responses so that I can quantify
how many times I used each type of interaction or behavior as opposed to another. In order to
perform my analysis, I will use data collected from student work and video evidence that was
recorded during my lesson for later reference. The video evidence will come from the second day
of the two part lesson that I taught to a high school integrated science class on the topic

Some disk models are optimized for this and reduce cost, power use, and heat by limiting seeks
performance. This is definitely not the type of disk on which you want to install an operating
system. If the disk moves the arm as fast as it can to the right location, once it gets there it may
have to wait for a long latency period while the data rotates around to the arm location. Newer
smarter disks can calculate that this is going to occur and respond by using less power to move
the arm more slowly into position while still getting there with time to spare. This type of
intelligent seek saves power and reduces noise without effecting performance. One company

they looked to see what improvements they could get in exchange for the slower speed. Among

Immigration Problems In America
America is often referred to as the Land of Immigration ( A History of Immigration in the USA ).
The foundation of America was built on immigration, when in 1492 Christopher Columbus, an
Italian explorer, discovered the Americas. Not only is immigration the base of America s history,
but it is also beneficial to the economy and society. Immigration increases the labor force, including
everyday, necessary jobs (Anderson). Therefore, immigrants are beneficial to the economical and
societal growth of America. To begin with, immigration causes a number of problems for America.
The first problem is that America is being overrun with immigrants. This problem is focusing on the
undocumented immigrants. A solution to stopping undocumented immigrants from overrunning
America is building a wall. The overwhelming increase of immigrants is causing a problem for U.S.
citizens; because of immigrants, jobs are taken away from American citizens. A third problem that
immigration causes is that immigrants are a drain on society s resources (Cole). Government
benefits should be cut off from immigrants. Stopping these benefits would save money and
diminish incentives for immigrants to illegally enter the United States(Cole). Although immigrants
come to America, they refuse to assimilate (Cole). Their refusal to assimilate denies America of its
cultural and political unity. An example of this is the large migration of the Chinese to California in
the 1850s. These Chinese immigrants

George Washington s Accomplishments
Cary Racioppi US History Bowler 9/16/14 Unit II Essay Prompt #1 Although George Washington

to his unremitting persistence and prudent tactics, such as strategic retreat, among those, such as
Napoleon, who are highly regarded when discussing renowned military leaders. One of the things
that makes a general memorable and considered successful today is determined by their
accomplishments and their endeavors to achieve these accomplishments. A main reason George
Washington is recognized today as a legendary general, is because, despite the unskilled army he
was provided, he managed to attain the pivotal goal for America; gaining its independence.
George Washington had a very well understanding of military power, and was forced to aid in

The Three Hermits By Leo Tolstoy
The Reappearance
A bishop is a senior member of the Christian clergy who is in charge of a diocese and also
empowered to confer holy orders. The bishop helps teach others how to pray to God and become
closer to him. Praying to God is important, because we have to ask for his forgiveness to remove
our sins, in order to go to heaven.
The Three Hermits by Leo Tolstoy, shows a great example of a bishop s role. The bishop is
sailing oversea to a monastery, joined by pilgrims visiting shrines in the same area. The bishop
leaves his area on the vessel to visit the pilgrims on deck. He discovered that one man was pointing
to something far off in the sea. The bishop adjoined the pilgrims, but when he approached them,
they removed their hats and bowed down to him. He asked them to speak and ... Show more content

I am a member of a catholic church, and a strong believer in God. When the three hermits walk on
the water to get to the vessel, it resembles when Jesus walked on water. It teaches us to not always
follow everything you are told. We can each have our own ways to do things to get just as much in
return. The bishop had power over those on the ship, and he controlled the decision making in
where they went. When the bishop went to teach the three hermits, he was determined for them to
learn the prayer and never gave up on them. He dedicated hours to them so they could learn it well.
The Three Hermits reminds me of my sister, Lauren. She is not the greatest cook out there, but I
have worked with her many times to help her slowly get better. I am determined, like the bishop
was, to help her become a good cook. Before I began to help her, each thing she made flopped in
some sort of way. With a little bit of help and encouragement, she is slowly getting better. She has
reached the point of cooking simple things on her own, and sometimes turning out, yet there are
still those moments when I receive a phone call about the instructions or

Essay on Sun Chief
The religion detailed and examined throughout Don Talayesva s Sun Chief can be difficult to
understand and near impossible to appreciate. At first glance to the casual reader it can appear
shallow and ridiculous; a religion created around the wants and needs of the Hopi but not based on
any empirical or even supposed sacred evidence. When coupled with The Sacred Canopy however,
the reader begins to understand the simplistic beauty of their religionproviding necessary guidance
and support to the Hopitribe. The reader also is able to relate to Don s religion in terms of the love
one has for his or her own dogma and the importance it plays in an individual s life.
It is important to understand that Don s religion was not his by ... Show more content on

It is not fair for any religion to dismiss another as absurd, because of the inherent differences in
what different religions include or consider miracles , oracles , or rituals . Opposing religions
consider each other ridiculous equally and their own dogma is revered as true equally. To Don
Talayesva as a child, Christianity was nothing more than something white people talked about
while he waited for their free clothing or candy. This is soundly equivalent to the care and
consideration non Hopis give to the thought of dancing for rain. In terms of nomos, the Hopis
religion served just as well as any could have. At birth babies are born onto sacred sand. When
they need rain for crops, the Katcinas dance in the plaza. To live a healthy life and bear many
children, Hopi s have intercourse with the Salt Woman. These rituals and traditions make sense
to the Hopi and provide mental security. It shields them from terror and imposes a meaningful
order upon reality, as put in The Sacred Canopy. The Hopi can use their religion to eschew
helplessness and a fear of being spiritually alone in the world. It provides them with answers and
makes them calm and happy. These qualities make their religion successful as defined by The
Sacred Canopy s requirement of nomization for a meaningful life. From the perspective of a non
Hopi, their religion would probably be viewed as a convenient set of beliefs and practices thought
up by a group of

The Utilization Of Ancient Greek Values
The utilization of Ancient Greek values through the use of characters in Medea
Throughout the play Medea written Euripides, an assortment of unique characters are presented to
the audience. At first glance, the characters in the play seem to serve as the normal society in
Ancient Greece. This is true to a certain degree but Euripides intended it to be more than their
standard social roles. Euripides utilizes characters such as the all women choir, King Creon, Medea
and others to convey his perception of what is his modern but now Ancient Greek traditional values
are to him and even pushes the boundaries by breaking some of the social standards set during his
time. With a deeper understanding of the characters, the audience will be able to ... Show more

The Choir s disgust of King Creon is evident in the scene where he appeared to banish Medea
from Corinth, the First Woman said I have seen this man s arrogance, I watched and heard him. I
am of Corinth, and I say that Corinth is not well ruled. (Jeffers 12) Followed by the Second
Woman saying The city where even a foreigner, suffers unjustly the rods of power is not well
ruled. (Jeffers 12) The repeated phrase is not well ruled undoubtedly shows their displeasure
under his rule along with the Choir s constant criticism of him throughout their dialogue. The
women are also sympathetic towards Medea as would any other citizen would feel because of the
traumatic events that had just occurred to Medea. When judging Medea s actions, no one protest
more to her plots then the women, First Woman I think you ought to persuade Medea to come
from the dark dwelling, and speak with us, before her heart breaks. (Jeffers 6) The women are
attempting to persuade Medea from her dark thoughts but to little avail because Medea ultimately
commits her revenge. Despite the women s simplistic appearance in the play, Euripides exploits
their role to represent the vast number of ordinary Greek citizens and to counsel Medea on her
actions.
Another similar role the audience will recognize is the presence of a tyrannical ruler in the play,
this role is placed in the hands of King Creon, the ruler of Corinth. King Creon s

Professional Goals Essay
In my future endeavors, I would like to pursue a master s degree in nursing as an education
specialist. This specialty of nursing is something that has always intrigued me and after working
within the hospital setting I know this is where I aspire to be. I believe helping current and future
nurses expand upon their knowledge would be very fulfilling for me.
I have come to the decision to pursue a degree in nursing education after spending time as a clinical
preceptor for the hospital I work in. This role involves taking a student from the local nursing school
and allowing them to work side by side with you for around nine weeks. I love the feeling that
teaching someone else the profession gives me. I also took the role of Skin Care Champion , ...

This is a great attribute to have as a master s prepared nurse because often times you re in a
position of authority over other people. Responsibility and rational thinking would not only
help with my career, but also anyone I was working with as an educator. I am very dedicated to my
work and take any job I do very seriously. This would help with my master s degree studies because
I would put forth my best effort with the courses. It would also help as a master s prepared nurse
because I would dedicate myself to my work and the people I help educate.
The MSN program would help me meet my professional goals by providing me with the
resources to advance my degree. It would be an opportunity to go further with my knowledge
and career. It would also allow me to go into my community after graduation and take my new
found knowledge to my peers. This program would give me the stepping stone I need to take on
an advanced role in my nursing career. It would also allow me the skills to be a leader in my
hospital and community. The main thing the MSN program would allow me to do is expand my
knowledge to help the patients I encounter each day.
Thank you for taking the time to review my essay. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I
know my undergraduate work was not top notch, but I would be very invested in your program.
Thank you again for this

Calpurnia Motherly Figure
Second of all, I will be evaluating whether Calpurnia or Aunt Alexandra is a better motherly
figure for the two children. To start, Calpurnia is a good motherly figure. Firstly, she took the
children to church on Sunday when Atticus was not home to do so. In the reading it says, How d
you and Mister Jem like to come to church with me tomorrow? (Lee 156). Calpurnia did not only
take them to church, but took them to an African American church, giving the children a new
perspective on how life for some people is, teaching them both the valuable lesson of walking in
somebody else s shoes which is also a major theme in the book. Secondly, Scout found Calpurnia to
be good company when Jem decided to act independent and not spend time with her... Show more

We d be glad to have you (Lee 168). To continue, Aunt Alexandra is not as good or a motherly
figure. Firstly, Aunt Alexandra is rude to Calpurnia. In the novel, the first sentence she says to
Calpurnia is, Put my bag in the front bedroom, Calpurnia (Lee 169). Calpurnia is the family cook,
not a servant, and she is also an African American woman. Aunt Alexandra being rude to a black
woman could be a bad influence for the children in the future, where they might think that it is okay
to be rude to them because Aunt Alexandra did it. Secondly, she fights with their father on multiple
occasions throughout the chapters. One example from the reading is, Alexandra, Calpurnia s not
leaving this house until she wants to. You may think otherwise, but I could not have got along
without her all these years... If anything, she s been harder on them in some ways than a mother
would have been (Lee 182, 183). Considering the fact that the children prefer their dad as a parent
over Aunt Alexandra, it is inferred that they would take Atticus side in the argument because they
also love Calpurnia, and if Aunt Alexandra were to take somebody they loved out of their lives,
that would make the children hate her even

There is a film named Maisie moving into her new home that was in the year of 2011 that was filming about a foster family trying to get along with their adopted foster child named Maisie and Maisie had temper issues that caused the former foster familyto send her back to the care center to be adopted again. The only foster parent that did not send Maisie back to the care center to be adopted again were Jim and Sue that did not give on trying to help Maisie recover her temper issues that was caused by the harsh environment that she had experience from living with her biological parent. Jim and Sue had decided to send Maisie to the therapy session in order to help her recover her temper issues eventually Maisie had made a full recovery of her temper issues and finally were able to get along with her current foster parent. The current foster parent that live with Maisie that was shown in the film relate with the multidimensional approach, two theories, life course perspective, Piaget s cognitive theory, and implication for my social work practice. For starter the multidimensional approach of the three approaches like for the person, environment, and time that relate to the film that influence Maisie from the movie. • 3. Enterprise Architecture Framework Paper Enterprise Architecture In this research paper we will be discussing The Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) FEAF is business driven and is the U.S. Federal Government s answer to enterprise architecture that provides a framework for complex established systems to be able to share information technology across agencies. We will be discussing a case analysis that covers the five interrelated reference models that is used to bring commonality and consistent enterprise architecture for the improvement of the government agencies adopting FEAF. Like the other frameworks FEAF is an abstract view and are covered by the 5 FEAF reference models. These models are designed to facilitate communication, cooperation, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The strengths of FEAF is the flushing out of duplicated efforts between Agencies once the framework is applied. This opens the door to collaboration providing opportunities to continue to share information between the Agencies involved. By identifying duplicated efforts a larger Return on Investment (ROI) can be achieved. When the framework is applied and the Agencies principles are identified strategic goals can be reached. Another benefit to the FEAF approach is a design to help eliminate duplication of effort which leads to waste. Another is the being able to develop a common approach to government, industry standards that are legally compliant. Of the legal mandates the Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 says that Federal Agencies must develop and maintain enterprise architecture. (2) Of the many EA frameworks FEAF has the most coverage but it still does not cover all the desired aspects of EA. The weakness in FEAF is that it is designed for federal agencies. While this is good it does not necessarily fit corporations unless you are catering to Federal Agencies. Centers for Medicare amp; Medicaid Services uses FEAF to build their business architecture, data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture. These architectures are what maintain the CMS EA tool called Troux Architect. This tool allows for the alignment Office of Management and Budget s FEAF. (1) Being able ... • 4. Percy Jackson Book Comparison Have you ever read the Percy Jackson books and/or Carter Kane books? If not I think you should, they are fantastic books as Percy and Carter are both very brave. A character trait that they both share is being brave. The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus are by Rick Riordan as are The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow. Except The Lightning Thief through The Blood Of Olympus stars Percy Jackson, and The Red Pyramid through The Serpent s Shadow stars Carter Kane. Percy Jackson and Carter Kane both have to fight evil and save the world. My first reason, is that they both have to fight evil. An example is, about Percy is, he had to fight an evil Titan, Kronos, and win. Kronos was and is a Titan who once devoured his children that are gods this is another way that they are alike. He had to choose between giving Luke the knife or not. He chose to give Luke the knife, Luke then stabbed Kronos as Luke was in control of Kronos. Carter had to fight the god of evil, Set, he was trying to turn the world to chaos and/or evil. Set had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One piece of evidence is, Percy had to return the lighting bolt to Zeus and succeed in which he did, this where they are different and alike in a way. Carter had to return the golden scarab to Zeus. He had to do that so gods don t start a war. If the gods had started a war the world would be a warzone with only a few traces of human life form left behind. My second piece of evidence is Carter had to fight Apophis this is a way Percy and Carter are alike, they both had to fight a higher up more powerful being. I know I ve mentioned this before, but Carter has to defeat the god of chaos and/or send him deep enough into the Duat so that Apophis can t come back to the surface of the earth. • 5. The Bible, The Word `` Covenant `` Despite the continuous disobedience and failures from God s people, His love for humanity is so deep and faithful that He made promises to His people so that they would rebuild their relationship and fellowship with Him once again. In the Bible, the word covenant is used to describe the relationship between both God and man. God blesses those who receive the promises because of their faith and their commitments to His commandments. His covenants with His people give an important theme for Christianitybecause it still upholds truth to today s society and future generations to come. The first covenant God made with His people after the fall of Adam and Eve was the Noahic covenant. This covenant was made during the time where only one man Noah, was able to make God smile and stay faithful to God s plan despite the continuous sinful actions made by the other people. This covenant shows God s grace towards humanity and their disobedience towards His commands. The Noahic covenant lays down the foundation for the existence of humankind. It also addresses in particular the matter of capital punishment that took place during this time. Genesis 9:12 13 states, And God said, This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. • 7. ##rtance Of Minnie Hale In Susan Glaspell s A Jury Of Her... Once Minnie Foster became Minnie Wright, she was a mere speck living in her husband s world. She is described by Mrs. Hale as young and lively, She used to wear pretty clothes and be lively when she was Minnie Foster, one of the town girls, singing in the choir (Glaspell 507). Although her presence in her marriage was small, she holds a major presence in Susan Glaspell s, A Jury of Her Peers , without even being physically present. Minnie is present in the minds of both Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale once they step foot into her home with symbols such as the kitchen, the rocker, the birdcage, the dead canary, and the busted preserve jars. Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale use the birdcage, the dead canary, and the busted preserve jars to conclude Minnie Wright lived in a broken home with a broken marriage which led to Minnie Wright s that both women deemed justifiable. Before Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale step foot into Minnie Wright s kitchen, they nervously stood outside already feeling Minnie Wright s presence. Mrs. Hale is described by the narrator as, Even after she had her foot on the door step, her hand on the knob, Martha Hale had a moment of feeling she could not cross that threshold (Glaspell 502). Mrs. Hale feels as if she cannot cross that threshold because she had never crossed it before. • 8. Mentoring For Senior Professional Field Mentoring is an interregnal part of every professional field. Organizations that pursue future improvement and development focus on mentoring by means of inviting internal and external professionals to mentor junior members. Mentoring is a rather complex subject and often takes serious preparation on the part of a mentor. Just being an experienced professionalis not enough for becoming a good mentor for juniors. Mentoring is a responsible activity, which requires high levels of patience, professionalism, ethics, enthusiasm, tolerance and skills. Even though most of organizations mention highly developed training programs, in practice mentoring is still a new territory for most of them and often the professionals cannot properly explain what actually makes a good mentor and what efficient mentoring should include. The field of engineering is one of the professional spheres where young specialists are in high demand since there is a growing skills shortage in this field. To be able to function effectively in the future, engineering companies must take the issue of skills and professional scarcity seriously and improve mentoring methods in order to prepare highly qualified workers for the future. The word mentor comes from ancient Greek mythology, Mentor was the name of the teacher of Odysseus s son (Miller 3). Today this word is used to refer to wise and reliable supervisors. We didn t ever see anybody except Mr.Abroscotto. This quote shows how Moon is developing through the story. That is how the main character is developed through the story and how the main character interacts with the other characters. Ideas: The main idea through the beginning of the story is Moon trying to survive in the forest by himself and trying to fight off everyone. Then over time Moon realizes that he doesn t want to live in the forest anymore and fight against anyone anymore. The conflict in the story happens a lot in the beginning of the story because Moon is trying to stay hidden but then towards the end of the story he doesn t want to be alone for the rest of his life and fight off everyone that tries to take him away or help him. On page 3 he said Pap said he even figured I could whip somebody three times my size. He wasn t worried about me. The present study revealed that insomnia symptoms served as a unique predictor of suicidal ideation assessed cross sectionally, and for suicidal ideation and suicide attempt longitudinally (though the latter only held when controlling for only depression, hopelessness and baseline suicidal ideation, which are still strong predictors of death by suicide). Latin Americ Latin American Cultures Jonathan Timothy Su Professor Patricio Navia Latin American Cultures, Sect. 001 20 October 2014 Latin American Cultures Midterm Section 1 Question 1 Throughout the pre Columbus era in Latin America, The Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas built unique civilizations, each with its own distinctive achievements, creating distinctive cultures to unite their individual societies. The Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas not only shared many similarities in the ways they built their civilizations, but also had differing characteristics that made each people its own. Civilization in the Americas originated as early as 7000 B.C. as a result of a land bridge between Asia and the Americas, formed when the Bering Strait connecting current day Russia with Alaska united the two continents during the Ice Age. The humans who crossed the land bridge, mostly hunter gatherers, eventually developed advanced civilizations throughout North and South America. By around 900 B.C., the Olmec civilization one of the first advanced civilizations in the Americas populated parts of Mexico and Central America, where they developed advancements such as building the first pyramids. About 200 years later, descendants of the Olmecs emerged the Maya, Zapotec, Totonac, and TeotihuacГЎn civilizations. A person has a 0.55 0.7% chance of developing any type of brain tumor in their lifetime (Mohammadi and Schroeder 1). A brain tumor is a mass of abnormal cells located somewhere in the brain. Brain tumors can be caused by many different disorders including Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). Some tumors caused by this disorder are inoperable. The Adventure of the Speckled Band is a classic mystery novel. It is so in the way that it uses several writing techniques to create a sense of ambiguity and vagueness. Conan Doyle makes sure to leave the reader with as little information as possible and to make it hard to foresee what will happen next. This is all to have them anticipate the ending and the solving of the mystery, to keep them gripped. Even the very title of the novel is unclear and does well to conjure up ideas inside the readers mind. The meeting of Helen Stoner is very important. She is described as having veiled and fully black attire. This suggests that she is in mourning. She is also described as having frightened eyes, like those of a hunted animal, and being very agitated and trembling. Conan Doyle regularly uses this technique of showing the reader the symptom before a cause is established. It is much more shocking. This is all to construct the readers sympathy for Helen Stoner, but also instigate fear in whatever it is she fears. Conan Doyle also uses this meeting as a means to show the reader the significance of apparently minor and trivial clues in the story that unfolds. Sherlock Holmes deduces Helen s mode of travel by observing that she has the second half of a train ticket in the palm of her hand. This allows him to safely assume that Helen has travelled to him by train that morning. This technique warns the reader to be on lookout for what may seem like trivial details if they want to try to solve the mystery. It also allows Conan to throw in some red herrings in order to divert the reader and throw them off the trail. Helen Stoner goes on to describe her family and her circumstances, in particularly her Stepfather. Her description of him suggests to the reader that he is monstrous, brutal and feared by everyone. Analysis Trader Joe s sells gourmet foods to its customers with a low cost business model, which may seem very difficult to maintain, due to the rising costs in the international markets and the United States. However, with Trader Joe s long term experience in operations and limited variety of products, this enables the company to reduce costs and transfer those savings to their customers. Furthermore, Trader Joe s has a very efficient management process that allows keeping the product costs down to keep their customers satisfied. The management process is very significant for Trader Joe s in which they have planned marvelously to carry certain products which is obtained at a discounted price from their suppliers. Additionally, Trader Joe s keep costs down to a minimum by choosing non prime store locations. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. The And Of The Metal Ammonia The rapid decreases in 5V as TMD, FeSc or host material is added to the metal ammonia, 10 suggest that the fraction of solvated electron is radiply decreasing. This means that these free solvated electrons started to immigrant to host samples valence band or fermi band(see section 2.3.1) after that the guest spicies are nestled in the centers of the crystal structure of host spicies. The intercalation of metal ammonia (if this clarication is correct) enhances the lattice match, thereby advancing the intercalation process. To enhance the lattice match, the ions size of guest material and the d spacing or c0 of host guets should be proportional to each others. Thus, the rst one(ioniserted guest material) should be smaller than the later one, host material. Ions size may be larger or smaller than the neutral atom, contin gent upon the ion s charge. At the point when an atom loses an electron to edge a cation, the lost electron no more contributes to shielding other electrons from the charge of the core; thus, alternate electrons are all the more rmly pulled in to the core, and the diameter of the ion decreases. So also, when an electron is added to an atom, framing an anion, the added electron shields alter nate electrons from the nucleus, with the outcome that the extent of the atom increments[7]. In this report, the ion s size was estimated by using X ray s data and table 2 in section 2.3 con rms the values of dierent guest samples. The second element that is crucial ... This situation might worsen given that the volatile Donald Trump has threatened to pull out funds from universities whose ideologies do not align with his, such as was the case for the University of California at Berkeley, with whom Trump had an altercation after the students at the campus rioted to protest the presence of the misogynistic and racist Milo Yiannopoulos. Later on, Trump took to social media to express how he was willing to take away federal funding for the university (Nelson, 2017). Seeing how turbulent the attitude of the incumbent president is and how he and people who share his mentality are rather machiavellian individuals whose main interest is to keep oppressing minorities, it is not a surprise that they will try to make the educational systems more difficult to approach. Arsenic has a symbol of As and an atomic number of 33. It is a metalloid which gives it both metal and nonmetal characteristics. Arsenic has many allotropes, but the gray form is important for industry. The three main allotropes are metallic gray, black, and yellow. Gray arsenic is brittle and has a low hardness (based on the Moh s hardness scale) yet a high density. Yellow arsenic is soft and waxy. It is least dense and most toxic. It is also transformed into gray arsenic by light. Black arsenic is brittle and glassy. It is a poor electrical conductor as well. The foundation of America was built on immigration, when in 1492 Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer, discovered the Americas. Not only is immigration the base of America s history, but it is also beneficial to the economy and society. Immigration increases the labor force, including everyday, necessary jobs (Anderson). Therefore, immigrants are beneficial to the economical and societal growth of America. To begin with, immigration causes a number of problems for America. The first problem is that America is being overrun with immigrants. This problem is focusing on the undocumented immigrants. A solution to stopping undocumented immigrants from overrunning America is building a wall. The overwhelming increase of immigrants is causing a problem for U.S. citizens; because of immigrants, jobs are taken away from American citizens. A third problem that immigration causes is that immigrants are a drain on society s resources (Cole). Government benefits should be cut off from immigrants. Stopping these benefits would save money and diminish incentives for immigrants to illegally enter the United States(Cole). Although immigrants come to America, they refuse to assimilate (Cole). Their refusal to assimilate denies America of its cultural and political unity. An example of this is the large migration of the Chinese to California in the 1850s. These Chinese immigrants ... • 40. The Three Hermits By Leo Tolstoy The Reappearance A bishop is a senior member of the Christian clergy who is in charge of a diocese and also empowered to confer holy orders. The bishop helps teach others how to pray to God and become closer to him. Praying to God is important, because we have to ask for his forgiveness to remove our sins, in order to go to heaven. The Three Hermits by Leo Tolstoy, shows a great example of a bishop s role. The bishop is sailing oversea to a monastery, joined by pilgrims visiting shrines in the same area. The bishop leaves his area on the vessel to visit the pilgrims on deck. He discovered that one man was pointing to something far off in the sea. The bishop adjoined the pilgrims, but when he approached them, they removed their hats and bowed down to him. He asked them to speak and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am a member of a catholic church, and a strong believer in God. When the three hermits walk on the water to get to the vessel, it resembles when Jesus walked on water. It teaches us to not always follow everything you are told. We can each have our own ways to do things to get just as much in return. The bishop had power over those on the ship, and he controlled the decision making in where they went. When the bishop went to teach the three hermits, he was determined for them to learn the prayer and never gave up on them. He dedicated hours to them so they could learn it well. The Three Hermits reminds me of my sister, Lauren. She is not the greatest cook out there, but I have worked with her many times to help her slowly get better. I am determined, like the bishop was, to help her become a good cook. Before I began to help her, each thing she made flopped in some sort of way. With a little bit of help and encouragement, she is slowly getting better. She has reached the point of cooking simple things on her own, and sometimes turning out, yet there are still those moments when I receive a phone call about the instructions or ... • 41. Essay on Sun Chief The religion detailed and examined throughout Don Talayesva s Sun Chief can be difficult to understand and near impossible to appreciate. At first glance to the casual reader it can appear shallow and ridiculous; a religion created around the wants and needs of the Hopi but not based on any empirical or even supposed sacred evidence. When coupled with The Sacred Canopy however, the reader begins to understand the simplistic beauty of their religionproviding necessary guidance and support to the Hopitribe. The reader also is able to relate to Don s religion in terms of the love one has for his or her own dogma and the importance it plays in an individual s life. It is important to understand that Don s religion was not his by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is not fair for any religion to dismiss another as absurd, because of the inherent differences in what different religions include or consider miracles , oracles , or rituals . Opposing religions consider each other ridiculous equally and their own dogma is revered as true equally. To Don Talayesva as a child, Christianity was nothing more than something white people talked about while he waited for their free clothing or candy. This is soundly equivalent to the care and consideration non Hopis give to the thought of dancing for rain. In terms of nomos, the Hopis religion served just as well as any could have. At birth babies are born onto sacred sand. When they need rain for crops, the Katcinas dance in the plaza. To live a healthy life and bear many children, Hopi s have intercourse with the Salt Woman. These rituals and traditions make sense to the Hopi and provide mental security. It shields them from terror and imposes a meaningful order upon reality, as put in The Sacred Canopy. The Hopi can use their religion to eschew helplessness and a fear of being spiritually alone in the world. It provides them with answers and makes them calm and happy. These qualities make their religion successful as defined by The Sacred Canopy s requirement of nomization for a meaningful life. From the perspective of a non Hopi, their religion would probably be viewed as a convenient set of beliefs and practices thought up by a group of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Utilization Of Ancient Greek Values The utilization of Ancient Greek values through the use of characters in Medea Throughout the play Medea written Euripides, an assortment of unique characters are presented to the audience. At first glance, the characters in the play seem to serve as the normal society in Ancient Greece. This is true to a certain degree but Euripides intended it to be more than their standard social roles. Euripides utilizes characters such as the all women choir, King Creon, Medea and others to convey his perception of what is his modern but now Ancient Greek traditional values are to him and even pushes the boundaries by breaking some of the social standards set during his time. With a deeper understanding of the characters, the audience will be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Choir s disgust of King Creon is evident in the scene where he appeared to banish Medea from Corinth, the First Woman said I have seen this man s arrogance, I watched and heard him. I am of Corinth, and I say that Corinth is not well ruled. (Jeffers 12) Followed by the Second Woman saying The city where even a foreigner, suffers unjustly the rods of power is not well ruled. (Jeffers 12) The repeated phrase is not well ruled undoubtedly shows their displeasure under his rule along with the Choir s constant criticism of him throughout their dialogue. The women are also sympathetic towards Medea as would any other citizen would feel because of the traumatic events that had just occurred to Medea. When judging Medea s actions, no one protest more to her plots then the women, First Woman I think you ought to persuade Medea to come from the dark dwelling, and speak with us, before her heart breaks. (Jeffers 6) The women are attempting to persuade Medea from her dark thoughts but to little avail because Medea ultimately commits her revenge. Despite the women s simplistic appearance in the play, Euripides exploits their role to represent the vast number of ordinary Greek citizens and to counsel Medea on her actions. Another similar role the audience will recognize is the presence of a tyrannical ruler in the play, this role is placed in the hands of King Creon, the ruler of Corinth. King Creon s ... • 44. Calpurnia Motherly Figure Second of all, I will be evaluating whether Calpurnia or Aunt Alexandra is a better motherly figure for the two children. To start, Calpurnia is a good motherly figure. Firstly, she took the children to church on Sunday when Atticus was not home to do so. In the reading it says, How d you and Mister Jem like to come to church with me tomorrow? (Lee 156). Calpurnia did not only take them to church, but took them to an African American church, giving the children a new perspective on how life for some people is, teaching them both the valuable lesson of walking in somebody else s shoes which is also a major theme in the book. Secondly, Scout found Calpurnia to be good company when Jem decided to act independent and not spend time with her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We d be glad to have you (Lee 168). To continue, Aunt Alexandra is not as good or a motherly figure. Firstly, Aunt Alexandra is rude to Calpurnia. In the novel, the first sentence she says to Calpurnia is, Put my bag in the front bedroom, Calpurnia (Lee 169). Calpurnia is the family cook, not a servant, and she is also an African American woman. Aunt Alexandra being rude to a black woman could be a bad influence for the children in the future, where they might think that it is okay to be rude to them because Aunt Alexandra did it. Secondly, she fights with their father on multiple occasions throughout the chapters. One example from the reading is, Alexandra, Calpurnia s not leaving this house until she wants to. You may think otherwise, but I could not have got along without her all these years... If anything, she s been harder on them in some ways than a mother would have been (Lee 182, 183). Considering the fact that the children prefer their dad as a parent over Aunt Alexandra, it is inferred that they would take Atticus side in the argument because they also love Calpurnia, and if Aunt Alexandra were to take somebody they loved out of their lives, that would make the children hate her even ...
