Business Intelligence ( Bi ) And Business Analytics
Business intelligence (BI) and business analytics (BA) (sometimes used interchangeably) has
revolutionized the way businesses use data and can be contrasted, for the purpose of this essay,
in the following way: BI is raw data that has been transformed into meaningful information that
provides historical, current, and predictive views of business operations and environment, and
BA uses data and statistical methods to provide actionable information for decision makers. BI
explains what is happening, identifies the issue, and provides decisions to be made and BA
explains why an issue is occurring, what will occur, and what actions need to be taken. At the
forefront of BI/BA technology is International Business Machines (IBM) with a very broad array
of related products and services. Among the more popular products are its flagship analytics
product IBM Cognos and its Predictive Customer Analytics. IBM s Cognos Analytics allows
business and IT professionals to prepare and distribute all types of business reports from all
departments with an organization and access pertinent information such as financial reports, sales
trends, production yields, and inventory on any device on an hourly basis. IBM also offers a
Predictive Customer Intelligence solution, an integrated software which uses automation to acquire
customer information such as buying behavior, web activity, and social media presence to model
and score costumer behavior and provide customized actions so that a business

Comparison Of Bringing Up Baby And Annie Hall
The film Bringing Up Baby (1938) and the film Annie Hall (1977), respectively directed by
Howard Hawks and Woody Allen, both hold a significant impact on the history of the screwball
comedy genre. The screwball comedy is a principally American genre of comedy that became
popular during the Great Depression, originating in the early 1930s and thriving until the early
1940s. Bringing Up Baby, directed by Howard Hawks, is considered as the greatest screwball
comedyand is often considered the state of the art screwball film. On the other hand, Annie Hallis a
screwball that targets a very small population because it requires prior knowledge in order to
understand the jokes. Symons (2013) expresses the idea that Annie Hall is considered a high... Show

On technique that he utilizes amazingly gave the audience the feel of being with the character.
This technique is called a tracking shot. Tracking shots, according to Hayward (2013), are
cameras that follow a person or an object by physically moving with the subject. There is one
scene is the movie where he uses this technique, and the audience feels that they are in the scene
with the characters. It is when David Huxley is meeting with Mr. Alexander Peabody to talk
about the opportunity of having one million dollars donated to his museum, The Stuyvesant
Museum of Natural History, where he is working on completing a skeletal reproduction of a
brontosaurus. In this scene, he utilizes the long shot of the four men after they have stopped
walking, combined it with the tracking shot itself, and comprises the master shot, which is also
mandated by the classical style (Bordwell, Staiger, Thompson, 1985). Since the tracking of the
camera did indeed continue on for a few feet after the men had stopped, Hawks helps to establish
a better use of space within the frame. By lengthening the shot from a long shot to a longer shot,
the audiences not only gets to see the men and the golf course, the audience can now get a better
sense of where they are situated on the course itself as well. Hawks use a tracking shot to develop a
connection between the audience and the characters in the

There are many articles dealing with Tigers, talking about the complex relationship to tigers then

Tigers came from saber tooth cats, you can see the relatableness to them both. To the teeth to the

Governments Influence on the Radio
Radio was originally created for the purpose of communicating with ships out to see and emergency
broadcasting. Throughout history the United States government has had a major influence on the
evolution of radio. The government was responsible for fostering ownership regulations for the
stations in an effort to regulate information transmissions and military security. Unfortunately, in
doing so the ownership of radio stationsbecame about individual profit rather than national security.
The government in the United Stateshas played an integral role in radio s development. They began
enforcing limits on station ownership to regulate the number of stations a company can own. They
also began regulating the content of radio broadcasts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Owners stood to gain from purchasing of stations until the government started to regulate
ownership and ruled that there were no owners. This was a loss for many radio station owners,
as much of their investment was on the line. In 1996 when the FCC eliminated the restrictions,
owners stood to gain, allowing the cost of purchasing a station to drop and remain about even
since. With all of the influence from the government, one must wonder was there another way it
could have been done. The answer is no. Had the Navy not stepped in in 1919, the US might not
be a leading world power. At times, the government s rulings were extreme, and could have been
a bit easier to manage. For example, rather than eliminating all ownership, the FRC could have
instituted new federal regulations. Regulations could have covered the number of stations one
individual or company was allowed to purchase to a number smaller than the original would have
brought about enough change on its own. There will always be discrepancies in all of the
communications fields. Telephones are being replaced by cell phones. Telegraphs are almost non
existent. Radio is not going to go away. Allowing free range for a person to communicate with a
large number of people is always going to be a touchy subject. There has to be government
regulations. The government encouraged GE to monopolize much of the

When would India finally get their freedom back? The british had affected the Indians in many
negative ways, politically, economically, and socially. They had killed more than 1.8 billion

Breath Eyes Memory Analysis
In the book Breath Eyes Memory by Edwin Dedicat, Sophie lived in a time and place where there
were significant societal issues. As pertains to Haiti, genders are not seen as equal with women put
under pressure to conform to the masculine idea of what a female should look and act like. In the
book, a womans fingers symbolize her purpose in life, with each of her ten fingers representing a
different role, such as loving and washing. Sophie s aunt, Tante Atie, reflects on this stating, The
men in this area, they insist that their women are virgins and have ten fingers... Sometimes, she
even wished she had six fingers on each hand so she could have two left for herself, (Danticat
151). The social standards of women, such as Tante Atie, are causing them to conform to the
masculine ideal. The roles assigned to the women revolve around caring for men s needs, leaving
them with little time and opportunities for their own wants and needs. In wishing she had two
fingers to herself, Tante is showing that she feels like she doesn t have control over her own life
and can t do as she pleases in Haitis civilization. In this male dominated society, women have little
power, causing Tante Atie, Sophie, and other women like them to struggle to succeed and support
themselves without the contribution of a male figure. In addition to women in Haiti having little
power, their civilization created a hostile environment for the women of the country. During Tante
Atie s time in the

Adult Career Counseling in a New Age Essay
Adult Career Counseling in a New Age
The changing workplace a by now familiar litany of economic, demographic, organizational, and
social changes has made ambiguity the only certainty in work life. Many adults had little or no
career education, guidance, or counseling when they were in school and often seek such help now,
making job or career changes spurred by their personal stage of development or by the postmodern
workplace. Although career development is a continuous lifelong process, media and some
scholars continue to dramatize crisis in midlife (Lea and Leibowitz 1992, p. 8). Crises and
transitions can occur at any period, however. Hoyt and Lester (1995) found that the career needs of
adults aged 18 25 are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their clients career issues are complicated by family responsibilities and work and life
experiences that color their attitudes, values, and decisions. Some may already have made the
decision to change, have a great deal of self knowledge, and need information or assistance in
coping with the new context of job search. Others may have drifted into their jobs with little
planning or guidance, have difficulty making decisions, and lack awareness of their skills, abilities,
and interests. Some may be self directed learners who just need to be pointed in the right direction;
others may want to be given the answer to their career conundrum in a structured way.
Clearly, counselors must be familiar with adult development and adult learning theories and need
varied approaches for these different types of clients. They can guide adult clients in mining their
life experiences as a source of career information. For experienced clients who already know what
they don t want, traditional resources such as the Dictionary of Occupational Titles or Occupational

Society has strayed so far away from God that we cannot be guided back home.
Yeats begins the poem with the first two lines painting an image of society falling apart and
breaking down, one that O Brien refers to as a cultural breakdown. He says, The falcon represents
those forces that function productively only when disciplined. In order to maintain structure and to
prevent the gyre from widening further, our society needs discipline, otherwise our structure, our
faith, or very nature as human beings deteriorates. At this time in our society, our discipline in our
faith is gone. Our discipline in our morals and ethics is gone.
Lines 3 6 illustrate society s inability to hold together without discipline. Because the falcon can no
longer hear the falconer to find its way back home, things fall apart the result of society straying
from God. With everything falling apart, the need for someone or something to save society
becomes prominent. Since society has strayed away from God, the next solution is man as a
savior, but with the new age of war and machinery, mankind has lost their ability to save the
world. O Brien says, Everything that makes life valuable is being drenched in blood. The
ceremony of innocence refers no to one particular ceremony but is intended to suggest the grace
and order of civilized society. Moreover, there is nobody to fight the blood dimmed tide. Soldiers are

Kay Redfield Chapter Summary
This book was very inspirational. It is not only inspiring to people with bipolar disorder but to
all other people that are suffering from any kind of mental illness. It also speaks to people that
do not have a mental illness by giving them and inside look of what someone s life is like and
how they deal with their problems. The book shows how not only is life possible with mental
illness but that it is also worth living. The author, Kay Redfield Jamison, grew up in a family that
she did not particularly like. Her sister and brothers were a little on the crazy side when it came to
being teenagers. She, on the other hand, was quite the opposite until her first mania hit at the age of
seventeen. While she thought she was just having fun

Greedlessness In Washington Irving s The Legend Of Sleepy...
Washington Irving wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in 1820, which tells the story of Ichabod
Crane, a schoolmaster who persistently frightens himself with supernatural beings he supposes he
sees and hears on his way home from school. At one point in the story, Crane rivals for the love of
a lady with a man named Abraham Van Brunt. This man, known as Brom Bones to the townspeople,
took advantage of Ichabod Cranes credulousness to scare him out of town through a prank in which
he impersonated the dreaded Headless Horseman, the ghost of Sleepy Hollow. This caused Ichabod
to flee town out of terror. Ichabod Crane s characteristics of greed, superstition, and fearfulness
ended up causing his downfall. Ichabod Crane s greediness hindered his relationship with the
townspeople, consequently making some people, such as Brom Bones, more than happy to
expel Crane from the town, and others not sorry when he left. Ichabod had a great gluttonous
appetite, so he lived successively a week at a time with his pupils and their families, because
they simply could not afford to house such a gourmand. Moreover, he earned the distaste of the
other men of the town while trying to earn the affections of a lady named Katrina Van Tassel,
whom he hoped to marry only because of her wealth. He knew if he was to marry her, he would
have many delicious meals awaiting him. The pedagogue s mouth watered as he looked upon this
sumptuous promise of luxurious winter fare. Ichabod Crane s greed

National Peace and Security
Security is everywhere. It is needed for virtually everything that is accessed today. From starting
your car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is always present. One of the
most noticeable forms of security is the police and the Army. They are the security for the country,
both for internal and external threats. Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused
by the general population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are
overseas that can cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these threats, the security
appears to look intimidating, due to powerful weapons and armor placed upon the person.
However, when this happens, a side effect occurs, where the civilians may become scared of the
force, and begin to distrust the security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this
side effect from happening, the security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the
distrust and fear to occur, and end it. The way to best reform the security sector within societies
within transition is by finding and removing the corrupt, and by doing that, you will raise faith in
the security sector by the people. High Commissioner for Human RightsNavi Pillay says in an 2011
Human Rights Council I call on all those in positions of authority to take steps to prevent the
commission of crimes or acts of revenge, and for other concerned parties to strongly refrain from

Essay Exxon Oil Spill
Oil spills have often occurred too many times in this world. Unfortunately, when this does
happen, there is always losses of life. Many people are affected by it. There is always a price to
pay. On March 24, 1989 the Exxon Valdez oil tanker spilt all its oil into the ocean.
Going about twelve miles per hour, the doubt of a oil spill was highly unlikely. But, when the oil
tanker hit Bligh Reef in Alaska s Prince William Sound, the worst oil spill in United States history
occurred. Consequently, more than eleven million gallons of oil spued into the ocean. In addition,
more than thirteen hundred miles of shoreline was coated with oil. Furthermore, the slick would

The money was split up in certain ways. First, $213.1 million went towards reimbursements.
Second, $180 million went towards research, monitoring, and restoration. $392 million went to
habitat protection. Third, $108 million went to restoration reserve. Last, $31.1 million went to
science management, public information, and administration. So, who is to blame for the oil spill?
Exxon Valdez skipper Joseph Hazelwood was the ships captain when the oil spill occurred. But,
he blames third mate Greg Cousins, who was on the bridge, failed to turn the tanker away from
Bligh Reef despite orders to do so. Indications show that Hazelwood was intoxicated the night of
the spill. Based on evidence, the skipper had three vodka drinks earlier. He was charged with
piloting the tanker while drunk. He was sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service, was fined
$5,000, and was fired. Has Exxon done anything to prevent another oil spill? The answer is...
Yes, Exxon has done something to prevent another oil spill. In the aftermath of the Exxon Valdez
accident, Exxon redoubled its long time commitment to safeguard the environment, employees, and
operating communities worldwide. To improve the chances of not having another spill happen,
Exxon has modifies its tanker routes. Second, they have instituted drug and alcohol testing
programs for safety sensitive positions. Next,

Differentiating Tic Disorders Essay
Differentiating Tic Disorders
Is it possible to differentiate Tourette tics from non Tourette tics? Are all tics the same? What is
a tic? What does a tic feel like? How does ticcing affect a person s sense of self or I Function ? Are
Tic Disorders Inherited?
A tic is a repetitive, uncontrollable, purposeless contraction of an individual muscle or group of
muscles, usually in the face, arms, or shoulders. These movements may be signs of a minor
psychological disturbance. Such tics often occur in childhood and will probably be outgrown.
There are also tics that are caused by neurological disorders that could have resulted from brain

These tics are more noticeable during stressful, fatiguing or emotional times (2). Boys are three to
four times more likely to be affected than girls. Transient tics usually do not last for more than one
year, although it is not uncommon to have these episodes over the course of several years. For
many children, the symptoms never go beyond blinking and sniffing (or similar choices) and are
often described as nervous habits or allergy symptoms.
Chronic tic disorders are differentiated from transient tic disorders in that their duration is over
many years and the behavior is unchanging. With transient tic disorder, the tic may change from
one type to another, (sniffing may be replaced by forehead furrowing and then the furrowing is
replaced by finger snapping), while in chronic tic disorder the tic remains the same for a very long
time.
Chronic multiple tics present often, and in series. Sometimes it is difficult to draw distinctions
between transient, chronic and chronic multiple tics (2).
Tourette Syndrome (TS), first described by Gilles de la Tourette, can be the most debilitating of the
tic disorders and is characterized by multiform, frequently changing motor and vocal or phonic tics.
There are multiple diagnostic criteria, as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders IV.

Tribal People In India
INTRODUCTION: WHO ARE TRIBALS?
Tribal people are defined as those who have followed ways of life for many generations that are
largely self sufficient, and are clearly different from the mainstream and dominant society .
Constitution of India has not defined the word tribe but Article 366(25) of the Constitution of India
refers to the Scheduled Tribes as the tribes or tribal communities or the parts of or groups within
such tribes or tribal communities which the Indian President may specify by public notification
under Article 342(1) . The word tribe means different for different person. For a layman it simply
means simple folk living in forest and hills, for others who know little about tribals consider
them as colourful people famous for their dance and song, for an administrator tribal word
signifies a group of citizens whose welfare is the social responsibility of the President of India and
for an anthropologist it means a special field for study of a social phenomena.
The Scheduled Areas and Scheduled Tribes Commission appointed by the President of India on 28
April 1960 pursuant to Article 339 of the Constitution of India in its report of 14 October 1961
stated that As these groups are presumed to form the oldest ethnological sector of the population,
the term Adivasi which means original inhabitant has become current among certain people. The

Entry Level Trading Essay
Let s tie these two strategies together In my opinion, the best entry level trades are identifying
and trading trend reversals. You ll want to use either a 1 minute or a 5 minute chart, and keep
your trades between 10 and 30 minute expiry times. (I generally use 5 minute charts when I

price structure. You should be able to identify the trend direction (up or down) of your asset.
What my typical trade setup can look like: В·I notice an upward (or downward) trend in previous

to get started. I would suggest at least $500 or more otherwise the Martingale strategy could be
rendered useless. If you have to employ the Martingale too many times too early, and you haven t
grown your account or deposited the perfect amount ($500 $2000), you run the risk of draining
your account before you finally hit that winning trade. A $500 deposit is the sweet spot.

With each choice you take, each judgment you make, there is a conflict in your psyche; a fight
amongst instinct and rationale. Moreover, the instinctive piece of your brain is significantly more
intense than you may might suspect. The vast majority of us get a kick out of the chance to believe
that we are equipped for settling on sound choices. We may on occasion depend on our gut nature,
however in the event that essential we can approach our forces of motivation to touch base at a
consistent choice. Usually, we surmise that we have purposes behind what we trust, that is
frequently a misstep.
Prof Daniel Kahneman, from Princeton University, began an inquiry in our comprehension of the
human personality. It s a deep quest and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This quick state of mind is staggeringly effective, yet completely covered up. It is so intense, it
is really in charge of the vast majority of the things that you say, do, think and accept. We are
constrained, we are not immaculate, we are nonsensical in a wide range of ways but then you
have no clue this is going on. This framework is your concealed auto pilot, and it has its very own
brain. It is sometimes known as the outsider inside. More often than not, our quick, instinctive
personality is in charge, proficiently assuming responsibility of the considerable number of
thousands of choices we make every day. The issue comes when we permit our quick, instinctive
framework to settle on choices that we should disregard to our moderate, consistent framework.
This is the place the oversights sneak in.
Our reasoning is loaded with efficient errors referred to clinicians as intellectual predispositions and
they influence all that we do. They make us spend incautiously, be excessively impacted by what
other individuals think. They influence our convictions, our sentiments, and our choices, and we
have no clue it is going on. It might appear to be difficult to accept, yet that is on the grounds that
your intelligent, moderate personality is an ace at imagining a main story. The majority of the
convictions or suppositions you have originated from a programmed reaction. In any case, at that
point your legitimate personality designs a

Some foods are restricted based on geographical location. Pork is also a forbidden food.
For many Hindu s in the world, carving sacred images and figurines was an art form in itself. This
required years of hard work and disciplined training. Many buildings in the UK are influenced by
Hindu religion, which is evident in sculptures and architecture.
Hindus believe art is a very important aspect of salvation. Art is the ultimate release that is
founded by good things. Hindu art is also considered a disciplined style of worship. Art can also be
contemplated as India s oldest indigenous science. The many carvings on Hindu temples are shown
dramatically and powerfully at Ellora. Ellora is an entire mountain. This mountain has been shaped
out over centuries by talented artist.
In Hindu temples the three exterior walls are sculpted with images that show aspects of the deity
preserved within. The images depict the spirit of the deity. For example, the temple devoted to a
Vishnu can show his incarnations. The temple devoted to Shiva may show combative feats. Also,
temple walls can show foliage, pictures of women, or mithumas, which love couples.
Hinduism contains many schools of art including: Rajastani, Kangra, Kalighat, Moghul, and Parahi.

health and illness in the UK
Over the course of the last 50 years in the UK the government (England, Wales, Northern Ireland
and Scotland) have made a great effort in order to improve the overall health of the general
population in the UK. This has been achieved through the use of making the general population
more aware of the dangers to their health and what they are along with they can do in order to
improve it, thereby making better informed decisions in regards to their health when it comes to
things such as diet, road safety (driving), exercise, smoking and education.

penalty for being caught drinking and driving is a ВЈ5000 fine, a ban on the individual s driving
licence and 6 months imprisonment. If the individual causes a road collision whilst they are under
the influence of alcohol and cause a fatality, they can be sentenced to a maximum of 14 years in

government initiatives used in order to stop people from using their phones when they are driving,
to wear their seatbelt whilst they are driving and to prevent road rage by raising awareness.

A Brief Note On Electro Encephalography ( Eeg )
Electro encephalography : Electro Encephalography (EEG) is primarily an electrophysiological
monitoring method, recording the electrical activity of the brain. It involves placing electrodes
along the scalp, which measure voltage fluctuations resulting from the ionic flux across the brain
neurons. These are recorded graphically and typically referred to as brainwaves . Prior to the advent
of Computed Tomography (CTScan) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), EEG monitoring
was the primary diagnostic tool for stroke, epilepsy and other focal brain disorders. EEG
monitoring in the settings of cardiac surgery can be initiated before induction by anesthesia and
continues in the post operative phase , in the intensive care unit (ICU). EEG monitoring is useful
to detect seizures . The most common neurological symptoms manifest in the neonatal cardiac
surgical intensive care unit include Non convulsive seizures and Status Epilepticus; the primary
cause being Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy(HIC). Studies reveal that the incidents of HIC
increase in the presence of adverse events like cardiac arrest and also in the use of Mechanical
Circulatory Support, ECMO,etc. EEG can be influenced by the use of hypothermia and anesthetic
agents. Use of deep hypothermia leads to isoelectricity, a marker of reduction in cerebral
metabolism. The threshold for isoelectricty can be a useful indication for adequacy of

The Marijuana Legalization Movement
The marijuana legalization movement is one of the most controversial social movements of the
modern day. Efforts to reform marijuana policy have been organized since the mid 1900s. There are
two major organizations leading the battle for marijuana decriminalization. The National
Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and the Marijuana Project Policy
(MPP) are both looking to reschedule and eventually legalize marijuana for the use of responsible
adults. These two organizations provide various strategies that, along with additional tactics from
other sources, have strongly influenced the position of the marijuana legalization social movement.

Many celebrities publically advocate for the legalization of marijuana. Artists like Snoop Dogg,
Justin Timberlake, John legend, and Madonna are just a few of the many in the music industry who
advocate for the legalization of marijuana (Schiff 2014). These artists help the movement by
maintaining a culture upon which the use of marijuana is cool . This promotion of marijuana by
such celebrated people creates a sense of collective identity. Historically, one of the most obvious
means through which group identity has been manifested and shared is through language generally,
and music specifically (Danaher Roscigno:26). Athletes like Michael Phelps, Allen Iverson, and
Randy Moss advocate for the use of marijuana. Politicians like former president Bill Clinton, current
president Barack Obama, and senator John McCain have all been very vocal about reforming the
current marijuana policy. All these public influences help influence cultural outcomes that promote
positive images surrounding marijuana. Media coverage of SMOs is key to both substantiating
their claims to represent groups and developing important cultural outcomes (Goodwin Jasper:312).
Ultimately, public support of marijuana decriminalization from such important characters creates
communal support and strengthens NGO campaign support. To assert the media s influence
requires specifying the structural and instrumental ways in which it can shape collective action
across a dispersed population. On the structure end, the introduction of new media may provide
opportunities not directly associate with collective action, but which alter the leverage and/or
autonomy of subgroups (Danaher

Amanda Knox Summary
AMANDA KNOX: AN EXAMINATION OF JUSTICE COMPARING
U.S. VS. THE ITALIAN STRUCTURE OF THE COURTS SYSTEMS, AND THE USE OF
EVIDENCE FOR CONVICTION
November 2, 2007, was a very sad day due to the murder of Meredith Kercher. This is the day
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito lives were forever changed. This murder took place in Italy
and through this case the Criminal and Justice Systems were found to be very different from
country to country. This case specifically brought light how the United States and Italy are different
when it comes to finding justice for committing a murder. These differences consist of an
examination of justice, structure of the court systems and the use of evidence for conviction.
The Italian Justice System is an inquisitorial system (Huziker, 2016). In an inquisitorial system, the
court is involved in the investigation (Huziker, 2016). The judge and the prosecutor work together
in investigating the case (Huziker, 2016). This is interesting because, the judge also decides
whether the accused is innocent or guilty (Huziker, 2016). Before the trial starts and due to the
inquisitorial system used, the judge has a preconceived notion as to which way they want to favor
(Huziker, 2016). The Italian court is set up with three judges and six lay assessors of facts (Krings,
2015). There is no oath taken for the defendant when they take the stand (Huziker, 2016). When it
comes to the Amanda Knox case, the main topic was on innocents or guilty (Linth, 2013).

Greece and they have more recently been used in the Vietnam War. Alexander the Great was well

Elephants were the tanks of the ancient battlefield (Knodell, 2014). The mere sight, or smell, of
these beasts could cause the enemy to retreat. If the enemy did not retreat, however, the elephants
would often disrupt their formation. Even cavalry horses were afraid of the smell, sight, and sounds
of the oncoming elephants. The horses would refuse to proceed.

Was Justinian A Good Or Bad Emperor
Was Justinian a good or bad Emperor

Byzantine emperor Justinian was such a leader he was born a peasant and had a 40 year reign, two
years before taking the throne he married Theodora who was a former concubine, he exhibits traits
showing both great talents and great personality flaws.
Emperor Justinian is sometimes referred to as the last of the Roman Emperors and he desired to
return Rome to all of her former glory. He studied and learned from the mistakes of the former
Roman Emperors, he developed a large cavalry of horses and an extensively large Navy. He
wanted to take back the Western Roman Empire from the Germanic people and succeeded in his
conquests as he retook much of the Mediterranean basin. Emperor Justinian s developed a well
oiled machine and he believed that the Germans practiced a mutated form of Christianity that the
Roman Church considered sacrilegious. He did not waste any time and sent his military to reclaim
much to the western empire that had been lost after the battle of Adrianople and the fall of Rome,
this even included the beloved city of Rome. Since Justinian was loyal to Rome he felt that hit was
his duty to reduce this threat and return Rome to the Roman rule.
Justinian had a sincere wish to restore the glory of ancient Rome and improve the empire but the

Ancient Egypt
The culture of Egypt is thousands of years old. Ancient Egypt was among the earliest civilizations.
For years, Egypt maintained a complex and stable culture that actually influenced later generations
of Europe, the Middle East and many parts of Africa. After the Pharaonic era, Egypt itself came
under the influence of Hellenism, then Christianity for a period of time and later, Islamic culture.
While some of Egypt s ancient traditions remain evident, modern Egypt has evolved greatly due to
influences of immigrants from the surrounding Arab countries. Visitors to Egypt usually notice that
Egyptian people are mild mannered and polite, mostly as a result of their religious principles.

Tax Evasion Ethical Analysis
With a higher level of tax morale, an individual is more likely to remain compliant to tax laws
even when the economic punishment for tax evasion is lacking. This being said, it is fair to
suggest that the alternate position of committing tax evasion is a result of a low ethical sense of
duty. A low ethical sense of duty correlates with poor ethicsin an individual. Therefore, the lower
the ethical sense of duty, than the lower taxmorale an individual is likely to have. Having a low tax
morale means that an individual is more susceptible to committing tax evasion. This shows that
those who are ethically weak have a greater likelihood of committing tax evasion.
One key quality shown in an individual who is ethically weak is their poor perception ... Show more

Through this survey, they hoped to rank the main arguments that have been used to justify tax
evasion on ethical grounds over the last 500 years meaning that they hoped to find which
arguments carried to the most influence to prove that in that instance it is ethical (pg. 1). While
collecting data to ultimately rank these arguments, Nickerson et al. (2009) clumped data together
in accordance to the country of the participants. They took the mean scores from the survey,
based on a scale of 1 being always ethical and 7 being never ethical, and compared them based on
country. They found that the United Kingdom has the lowest mean average from the survey at
4.15, suggesting a low resistance to tax evasion, while United States participants average a 5.62,
suggesting a high tax compliance. These findings are a result of a combination of the community
perceptions, the countries tax penalties, and the perceptions of the government. This proves that
all three factors that lead to poor ethics in an individual play an extremely large role in whether or
not an individual will commit tax evasion. If economic reasons where the root of whether or not an

Radical Republicans disliked the Ten Percent Plan because it enabled Lincoln to determine Union

which Andrew Johnson did not approve of. Andrew Johnson ratified the Thirteenth amendment
which, abolished slavery, and elected senators and representatives in 1865. Southern states
resistance to ratifying the Thirteenth Amendment prevented reforms from working to a larger

phenomenal Twilight, the first book to the epic series that gave birth to billions of vampire

this dream, she decided to make a story out of it. After many sleepless nights and countless
instances where she wanted to give up, she still continued on working. And all that work finally

A very recent example we can see of stadium bargaining is with the Los Angles Rams. It has been
a popular practice to threaten to move an NFL team to Los Angles ever since they lost their team

Air Canada Aligned Business Strategy with Information Technology
In 2014, Air Canada achieved its best full year financial performance in the Corporation s 77
year history, said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer. (Air Canada Website
CIO 2015) Adjusted net income was $531 million, representing an increase of 56.2 per cent year

their business strategy and Information Technology (IT) by managing information resources on
several levels to accomplish a competitive advantage over other airline carriers and gain the

A significant step towards Air Canada s success was implementing a multiple vendor sourcing
strategy for IT. Utilizing their long time trusted partner, IBM, who was familiar with their
industry needs and company IT standards became the key liaison for expanding additional
technologies needed by other outside vendors. This newly expanded relationship between IBM

months before the explosion a maintenance worker could not complete repair work on mining
equipment because it was needed for work underground. Because management allowed broken
equipment to be involved in dangerous mining operations this would be a human hazard.
Maintenance workers were also required to modify machinery in order to conform to safety
regulations. This is a human hazard because workers are required to work with machinery that
could possibly be dangerous and employees maybe using the machinery improperly. Management
did not encourage the development of an occupational health and safety committee. The company

Although the industry is beneficial from a life cycle assessment point of view, over the years it has
gravitated toward countries with low labor costs, weak regulations on occupational safety, and
limited environmental enforcement. The global shift in the industry to countries with
comparatively weaker regulatory systems is of particular concern as ships contain many hazards
that can have significant detrimental effects on humans and the environment if not dealt with
properly.
Currently, the global center of the ship breaking and recycling industry is located in South Asia,
specifically Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. These three countries account for 70 80 percent of the
international market for ship breaking of ocean going vessels, with China and Turkey accounting
for most of the rest. Only about 5 percent of the global volume of such vessels is scrapped outside
these five countries.
This study focuses on the SBRI in Bangladesh and Pakistan to get a better understanding of the
economics of the industry and the environmental impacts arising out of such activity and to explore
possible ways in which such environmental effects may be mitigated.

Kabuki Greek Theatre
Kabuki is a form of theater that is rooted in challenging the deviance. Izumo no Okuni a female
who dressed like a man was the creator of the Kabuki art form. Kabuki arose during the later part
of the 16th century and early part of the 17th century. What made the Kabuki Theater a direct
challenge to social and political norms was the storylines chosen, the audience to which it was
preformed, and who the performers were. Kabuki is an art form that serves as a representation of
how theater can be used to challenge authority, and how through such a confrontation can play a
role revaluating norms in society. Kabuki challenged notions of masculinity and femininity. Kabuki
theater came to popularity during the Edo period in Japan. During this period... Show more content

Izumo no Okuni as previously mentioned created Kabuki. Much of Okuni s early life is
unknown, but what is known is that she was born in the late 16th century most likely in 1571.
Also, it is known that during Okuni childhood she learned the art form of performance dance. It
is not known that at some point she moved from preforming to Buddhist devotional dances to
non religious dances. However, the exact point in which she made the change is not known. If
one knew what her reasoning for the change was it would add another element into the process
she went through to pursue non religious dance. What lead Okuni to early success was the fact
that she moved to Kyoto the capital of Japan were music and dance was thriving. After her move
to Kyoto is when one sees Kabuki begin to form. Okuni made her start by making skits that made
of individuals from all social economic statuses. She also began incorporating eroticism in her
performances during this time. This along with the choice to not use mask was the beginning of
Kabuki theater. What is important to note about these three attributes is that they are what gave
Kabuki it s name. Kabuki in English means to behave deviantly. This name is fitting especially
because Kabuki is a direct challenge to

Adoption Research Paper
Many children have been adopted throughout the world. While many of them do not know their
origins, they grow up wanting to know about their birth parents. An adopted child may want to
know if his illness may be genetic. This would be important regarding medical records, and
having access to them for medical decisions. An adopted person may also like to learn about his
ethnic background since that person may want to know about his roots. A person who was
adopted may also wonder what his birth parents are like and why they gave the baby up for adoption
. The emotional and practical issues are overwhelming and need resolution. Adopteesshould have

It will not go away until it is answered. Only by opening sealed records could this happen for the
adopted child. At one point in time, whenever an unmarried birth mother had a child, she was
forced to give her newborn baby up for adoption. This kind of separation could lead to depression
for the birth mother, and anxiety for the adopted child. By having access to the sealed adoption
records, both mother and child can have resolution. Finding his or her biological parents gives the
child better insight to understanding most of the events that he or she had to face. Many of the
factors related to abandonment issues are due to finding out about the adoption. The
psychological impact that this gives to the child is a negative factor compounding the difficulty of
finding their birth parents. Opening records is a sensitive issue for all parties, but the adopted
child or birth parent has the right to know. This should no longer be a request but a right. It is time
for the government to grow a conscience and realize the lives they hold in their hands are

Business Intelligence ( Bi ) And Business Analytics Business intelligence (BI) and business analytics (BA) (sometimes used interchangeably) has revolutionized the way businesses use data and can be contrasted, for the purpose of this essay, in the following way: BI is raw data that has been transformed into meaningful information that provides historical, current, and predictive views of business operations and environment, and BA uses data and statistical methods to provide actionable information for decision makers. BI explains what is happening, identifies the issue, and provides decisions to be made and BA explains why an issue is occurring, what will occur, and what actions need to be taken. At the forefront of BI/BA technology is International Business Machines (IBM) with a very broad array of related products and services. Among the more popular products are its flagship analytics product IBM Cognos and its Predictive Customer Analytics. On technique that he utilizes amazingly gave the audience the feel of being with the character. This technique is called a tracking shot. Tracking shots, according to Hayward (2013), are cameras that follow a person or an object by physically moving with the subject. There is one scene is the movie where he uses this technique, and the audience feels that they are in the scene with the characters. It is when David Huxley is meeting with Mr. Alexander Peabody to talk about the opportunity of having one million dollars donated to his museum, The Stuyvesant Museum of Natural History, where he is working on completing a skeletal reproduction of a brontosaurus. In this scene, he utilizes the long shot of the four men after they have stopped walking, combined it with the tracking shot itself, and comprises the master shot, which is also mandated by the classical style (Bordwell, Staiger, Thompson, 1985). Since the tracking of the camera did indeed continue on for a few feet after the men had stopped, Hawks helps to establish a better use of space within the frame. By lengthening the shot from a long shot to a longer shot, the audiences not only gets to see the men and the golf course, the audience can now get a better sense of where they are situated on the course itself as well. Hawks use a tracking shot to develop a connection between the audience and the characters in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout history the United States government has had a major influence on the evolution of radio. The government was responsible for fostering ownership regulations for the stations in an effort to regulate information transmissions and military security. Unfortunately, in doing so the ownership of radio stationsbecame about individual profit rather than national security. Owners stood to gain from purchasing of stations until the government started to regulate ownership and ruled that there were no owners. This was a loss for many radio station owners, as much of their investment was on the line. In 1996 when the FCC eliminated the restrictions, owners stood to gain, allowing the cost of purchasing a station to drop and remain about even since. With all of the influence from the government, one must wonder was there another way it could have been done. The answer is no. Had the Navy not stepped in in 1919, the US might not be a leading world power. At times, the government s rulings were extreme, and could have been a bit easier to manage. For example, rather than eliminating all ownership, the FRC could have instituted new federal regulations. Regulations could have covered the number of stations one individual or company was allowed to purchase to a number smaller than the original would have brought about enough change on its own. • 7. Breath Eyes Memory Analysis In the book Breath Eyes Memory by Edwin Dedicat, Sophie lived in a time and place where there were significant societal issues. As pertains to Haiti, genders are not seen as equal with women put under pressure to conform to the masculine idea of what a female should look and act like. In the book, a womans fingers symbolize her purpose in life, with each of her ten fingers representing a different role, such as loving and washing. Sophie s aunt, Tante Atie, reflects on this stating, The men in this area, they insist that their women are virgins and have ten fingers... Sometimes, she even wished she had six fingers on each hand so she could have two left for herself, (Danticat 151). The social standards of women, such as Tante Atie, are causing them to conform to the masculine ideal. The roles assigned to the women revolve around caring for men s needs, leaving them with little time and opportunities for their own wants and needs. In wishing she had two fingers to herself, Tante is showing that she feels like she doesn t have control over her own life and can t do as she pleases in Haitis civilization. In this male dominated society, women have little power, causing Tante Atie, Sophie, and other women like them to struggle to succeed and support themselves without the contribution of a male figure. Society has strayed so far away from God that we cannot be guided back home. Yeats begins the poem with the first two lines painting an image of society falling apart and breaking down, one that O Brien refers to as a cultural breakdown. He says, The falcon represents those forces that function productively only when disciplined. In order to maintain structure and to prevent the gyre from widening further, our society needs discipline, otherwise our structure, our faith, or very nature as human beings deteriorates. At this time in our society, our discipline in our faith is gone. Our discipline in our morals and ethics is gone. Lines 3 6 illustrate society s inability to hold together without discipline. Because the falcon can no longer hear the falconer to find its way back home, things fall apart the result of society straying from God. With everything falling apart, the need for someone or something to save society becomes prominent. Since society has strayed away from God, the next solution is man as a savior, but with the new age of war and machinery, mankind has lost their ability to save the world. It is not only inspiring to people with bipolar disorder but to all other people that are suffering from any kind of mental illness. It also speaks to people that do not have a mental illness by giving them and inside look of what someone s life is like and how they deal with their problems. • 11. Greedlessness In Washington Irving s The Legend Of Sleepy... Washington Irving wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in 1820, which tells the story of Ichabod Crane, a schoolmaster who persistently frightens himself with supernatural beings he supposes he sees and hears on his way home from school. At one point in the story, Crane rivals for the love of a lady with a man named Abraham Van Brunt. This man, known as Brom Bones to the townspeople, took advantage of Ichabod Cranes credulousness to scare him out of town through a prank in which he impersonated the dreaded Headless Horseman, the ghost of Sleepy Hollow. This caused Ichabod to flee town out of terror. Ichabod Crane s characteristics of greed, superstition, and fearfulness ended up causing his downfall. Ichabod Crane s greediness hindered his relationship with the townspeople, consequently making some people, such as Brom Bones, more than happy to expel Crane from the town, and others not sorry when he left. Ichabod had a great gluttonous appetite, so he lived successively a week at a time with his pupils and their families, because they simply could not afford to house such a gourmand. Moreover, he earned the distaste of the other men of the town while trying to earn the affections of a lady named Katrina Van Tassel, whom he hoped to marry only because of her wealth. He knew if he was to marry her, he would have many delicious meals awaiting him. The pedagogue s mouth watered as he looked upon this sumptuous promise of luxurious winter fare. To kill or not to kill? To abuse or not to abuse? To hurt or not to hurt? In the nursing profession, as in all major health professional fields, nurses are bound to a certain Nurse s Code of Ethics (Kelly, 2010). Obey the code, and a registered nurse can potentially live a long healthy career in the nursing field. Violate the nurse s code of ethics, and one can seek penalties including but not limited to fines, fees, revocation, license suspension, probation, and even imprisonment. So what exactly happens to a Nurse who disobeys the code of ethics? The case between the State of Florida vs Mr. D.R.O. helps in getting a better understanding of what happens when a registered healthcare professional, in this case a Nurse, challenges the nursing code of ethics. Is the verdict appropriate in the defendant s case? Were the consequences adequately applicable to the damages the defendant imposed? How can future and active registered nurses avoid situations like this in their career? • 13. National Peace and Security Security is everywhere. It is needed for virtually everything that is accessed today. From starting your car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is always present. One of the most noticeable forms of security is the police and the Army. They are the security for the country, both for internal and external threats. Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused by the general population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are overseas that can cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these threats, the security appears to look intimidating, due to powerful weapons and armor placed upon the person. However, when this happens, a side effect occurs, where the civilians may become scared of the force, and begin to distrust the security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this side effect from happening, the security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the distrust and fear to occur, and end it. The way to best reform the security sector within societies within transition is by finding and removing the corrupt, and by doing that, you will raise faith in the security sector by the people. Exxon Valdez skipper Joseph Hazelwood was the ships captain when the oil spill occurred. But, he blames third mate Greg Cousins, who was on the bridge, failed to turn the tanker away from Bligh Reef despite orders to do so. Indications show that Hazelwood was intoxicated the night of the spill. Based on evidence, the skipper had three vodka drinks earlier. He was charged with piloting the tanker while drunk. He was sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service, was fined $5,000, and was fired. Has Exxon done anything to prevent another oil spill? The answer is... For many children, the symptoms never go beyond blinking and sniffing (or similar choices) and are often described as nervous habits or allergy symptoms. Chronic tic disorders are differentiated from transient tic disorders in that their duration is over many years and the behavior is unchanging. With transient tic disorder, the tic may change from one type to another, (sniffing may be replaced by forehead furrowing and then the furrowing is replaced by finger snapping), while in chronic tic disorder the tic remains the same for a very long time. A Brief Note On Electro Encephalography ( Eeg ) Electro encephalography : Electro Encephalography (EEG) is primarily an electrophysiological monitoring method, recording the electrical activity of the brain. It involves placing electrodes along the scalp, which measure voltage fluctuations resulting from the ionic flux across the brain neurons. These are recorded graphically and typically referred to as brainwaves . Prior to the advent of Computed Tomography (CTScan) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), EEG monitoring was the primary diagnostic tool for stroke, epilepsy and other focal brain disorders. EEG monitoring in the settings of cardiac surgery can be initiated before induction by anesthesia and continues in the post operative phase , in the intensive care unit (ICU). This is the day Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito lives were forever changed. This murder took place in Italy and through this case the Criminal and Justice Systems were found to be very different from country to country. This case specifically brought light how the United States and Italy are different when it comes to finding justice for committing a murder. These differences consist of an examination of justice, structure of the court systems and the use of evidence for conviction. The Italian Justice System is an inquisitorial system (Huziker, 2016). In an inquisitorial system, the court is involved in the investigation (Huziker, 2016). The judge and the prosecutor work together in investigating the case (Huziker, 2016). This is interesting because, the judge also decides whether the accused is innocent or guilty (Huziker, 2016). Before the trial starts and due to the inquisitorial system used, the judge has a preconceived notion as to which way they want to favor (Huziker, 2016). The Italian court is set up with three judges and six lay assessors of facts (Krings, 2015). There is no oath taken for the defendant when they take the stand (Huziker, 2016). • 31. Tax Evasion Ethical Analysis With a higher level of tax morale, an individual is more likely to remain compliant to tax laws even when the economic punishment for tax evasion is lacking. This being said, it is fair to suggest that the alternate position of committing tax evasion is a result of a low ethical sense of duty. A low ethical sense of duty correlates with poor ethicsin an individual. Therefore, the lower the ethical sense of duty, than the lower taxmorale an individual is likely to have. Having a low tax morale means that an individual is more susceptible to committing tax evasion. This shows that those who are ethically weak have a greater likelihood of committing tax evasion. One key quality shown in an individual who is ethically weak is their poor perception ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this survey, they hoped to rank the main arguments that have been used to justify tax evasion on ethical grounds over the last 500 years meaning that they hoped to find which arguments carried to the most influence to prove that in that instance it is ethical (pg. 1). While collecting data to ultimately rank these arguments, Nickerson et al. (2009) clumped data together in accordance to the country of the participants. They took the mean scores from the survey, based on a scale of 1 being always ethical and 7 being never ethical, and compared them based on country. They found that the United Kingdom has the lowest mean average from the survey at 4.15, suggesting a low resistance to tax evasion, while United States participants average a 5.62, suggesting a high tax compliance. These findings are a result of a combination of the community perceptions, the countries tax penalties, and the perceptions of the government. This proves that all three factors that lead to poor ethics in an individual play an extremely large role in whether or not an individual will commit tax evasion. If economic reasons where the root of whether or not an individual would commit tax evasion or not, then the graph would be arranged differently and have different mean averages that only correlated to the risk of ...
