How Personal Organization Can Have Direct Impact On Your...
Is your laptop, monitor or desk covered in sticky notes? Do you use a different notebook or pad
of paper each time you take notes at a meeting or on a call? Do you scribble notes and tasks on
odd pieces of paper and then keep them in stacks on your desk? If you answered yes (and
hopefully cringed) to any of those questions, then I m going to venture to guess that you are
perhaps in desperate need of improving your organizational skills!
Personal organization can have direct impact on your small business s success. When your
important tasks, projects, events and schedule are all managed in a productive way, the result is
likely to be that your business is also organized and able to grow. Poor organization skills lead to
low productivity, which in turn leads to wasted time and effort. That s wasted time and effort you
simply can t afford when you are working hard at growing your small business.
To improve your personal organization skills, it s important to develop a system that works well
for you and your particular environment. An effective organization system is ideally developed
over time, and requires consistency and discipline. As I believe the saying goes, it takes 21 days of
repeated action to form a habit. However many days it really does take, we typically don t develop
our bad habits overnight so we can t expect to correct them in a day either.
Your personal organization system does not have to be complex or high tech for it to be effective.

A Few Good Men Plot Summary
An orphaned young girl teams up with a former enforcer, as they are pursued by a ruthless Mexican
mobster.
STORY COMMENTS
THE STRENGTH OF TEN MEN is a captivating action, thriller. The strength of this story is no
doubt the complex and highly compelling characters that drive the plot. The core characters are
thrust into a harrowing life and death situation where the stakes are extremely high.
The script offers intriguing twist and turns. There are solid themes about trust, family, believing, and
faith.
The idea of a young orphan girl teaming up with an enforcer is an appealing plotline. There s a
smart twist when the enforcer turns out to be the person who killed the young girl s father. In
addition, a ruthless Mexican mobster hunts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the most part, it sounds crisp and has a nice rhythm. The voices of the characters are consistent
with their personalities and reveals information about them.
The only area that should be polished is the running gag about whores. This is still overdone. It s
funny in the beginning, but then loses its charm. The discussion about big dicks isn t all that
engaging.
The overall tension works best in the opening. The conflict and tension in the second act can be
stronger if there s more of an urgency and ticking clock. The current pace hinders this. The tension
doesn t enhance again until the midpoint.
The script is professionally presented although there are a few minor typos (pages 4, 45, and 54).
Also, the character of Dennis introduced twice.
SUMMARY MARKETABILITY
The plot is engaging and merits consider with revisions, especially in the first half of the script
regarding the goal, tension, pace, and action.
The strengths of this script are the characters and they can attract talent.
The action is also well crafted.
The script should be marketable in both the domestic and international market.
The script should appeal to the mainstream action, thriller audience.

The Different Development of the New England, Southern,...
The Different Development of the New England, Southern, and Middle Colonies America was a
place for dreams and new beginnings, until white people arrived in 1607. Three groups sailed
over the treacherous Atlantic from their cruel lives in England to set up peaceful religious
colonies. The only problem is that they attempted to settle in their own way and all failed
dismally. The New England, Middle and Southern Colonies grew differently over the period 1619
1760.Examining the three sets of colonies will prove that they were all different: socially,
economically, politically but not philosophically. Socially the three groups of colonies developed
differently. The New England Colonies life was dominated by the Puritan religion.... Show more

The three colonies all wanted to make money but they had to go about it in different ways. This
was mainly due to what they had available. The New England Colonies were mainly agricultural
farmers. With all the water reservoirs like Cape Cod there were plenty of fish so lots of people
became fishermen. There were a lot of lumberjacks to cut down trees and export them to England.
The Middle Colonies were extremely different because they set up extensive cosmopolitan cities
reminiscent of New York. They had many specialists like doctors, lawyers, accountants, and
teachers. They traded a lot with in North America and occasionally overseas. The Southern Colonies
primarily depended on cotton and tobacco plantations. As the plantations grew they had to employ
black slaves. The plantations were fully self contained with their own blacksmith, teachers and
professionals. So there were no big cities or towns. The main plantations traded directly with
Europe via the Mississippi. The three colonies all made money differently with their diverse
professions and traders. The three colonies all had comparable similarities, as they were all
democratic. But they ran their democratic government differently. For instance the New England
Colonies was a Theocracy, which meant that the church controlled the government. The Middle
Colonies had their church and government separate. The Southern Colonies were the most
inequitable as they were an Oligarchy. This meant

Summary Of Hiding Behind The Screen By Roger Scruton
Hiding Behind the Screen In today s world we use our screens to hide behind, from making
avatars, to Facebook, to simply adding a friend on any media site. We constantly avoid human
interactions, using media as a front. Hiding Behind the Screen was written by English philosopher
Roger Scruton. This article goes into great depth about Scrutons views on the use of technology. A
title such as Hiding Behind the Screencan catch the attention of pretty much anyone, mostly more
of the younger crowd. The words hiding and screen already sets up that this article is going to be
about social media in some form. From the beginning to the end of the article his usage in strong
arguments, words, and information appeals to his readers. Listing more and more ways the media
plays tricks on our perception of the world around us.
The author Roger Scruton is 73 years old; he grew up in Buslingthorpe, Lincolnshire England.
Roger Scruton is a well rounded writer, because of his vast array of works ranging from novels to
operas. Scruton, a conservative and has written many books. Most of which were about being a
conservative; for example, his book How to be a Conservative (2014). Not only did Scruton write,

Electric Hybrid Energy Storage Systems
Abstraction
The energy storage technology is quite important for electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric
vehicles due to requirement of more power and more efficient with minor compromise on weight
and volume. The challenge for developing more advanced energy storage system is capacity or
energy density and specific power cannot be achieved at the same time. More specific power
means less energy density, and vice versa. The supercapacitor Li ion hybrid energy storagesystem
has both advantages of these two kinds of energy storage technology. It has high energy density as
well as high specific power. The paper will introduce about this hybrid energy storage system,
discuss about its advantages and drawbacks, and compare this system with other kinds of energy
storage systems.
Keywords: Supercapacitor, Lithium ion battery, hybrid energy storage system 1. Introduction
Currently, electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles attract more and more people s
attention. The benefits of electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles are less fuel cost, less
emissions, less maintenance etc. But there are still many drawbacks such as higher price, less
space in electric hybrid vehicles, require recharging everyday on plug in hybrids and pure electric
vehicles, limited mileage per recharging in pure electric vehicles etc. There are many engineering
challenges along with these drawbacks. One of them is energy storage technology. In recent
electrified automotive markets,

Asch Conformity Research Paper
Conformity is Key
Back in the year 1951, a psychologist by the name of Solomon Asch first began to investigate the
theory of conformity. He opened up a whole new door in the field of psychology and his findings
later influenced many other great psychologists such as Stanley Milgram (Slater 40) . Asch s
experiments made many heads turn and scientists began to wonder more and more about the human
brain. However, I think the biggest question with Asch s Conformityexperiment would be: With so
many small flaws, could his work really be considered credible in today s society?
First off I ll explain a little of what the Asch conformity experiments really conducted of. In each
experiment, an innocent minded subject was put in a room with many other participants that were
actually actors in the experiment. The subjects that were tested were told that they were taking part
in a vision test. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is shown in multiple studies that women are slightly more susceptible to conform because
they feel a higher need to be accepted in society (Vaughan Hogg 2013). While this is true, the
conformity distinction between male and female relies upon familiarities. For instance if you
are asking women to name a type of wrench, they are more likely to go along with the group s
answer because a wrench is more of a masculine object. It works the same way with men: If you
were to ask men to name a specific type of needlework, they d be more likely to conform because
they are unfamiliar with objects more feminine. However, if you were to ask both men and women
about something neutral (i.e. a famous person) usually the percent of conformity would be rather
equal, except maybe a little higher with

Deception By William Shakespeare s Play
In William Shakespeare s play 1 Henry IV, deception is a recurring theme. Main characters King
Henry IV and Hotspur deceived other characters in order to benefit themselves. Were these
characters deceiving their subordinates for the sole purpose of gaining power for themselves or
were their choices and actions political strategy geared toward gaining honor and maintaining
the well being of the nation? It is hard to answer this with an exact, correct answer since the only
person that can really answer the question is no longer here, but from these two characters
actions we can draw conclusions. However, it is not as black and white what their intentions
were when they used deception since they both show qualities that make their deception look
good and bad. The question arises from this, did King Henry and Hotspur use their deception
merely for their own personal benefit or for the benefit of the country as a whole? Shakespeare
depicted King Henry as having more complicated reasons for taking the throne since we see both
sides where he shows he wants it for his own benefit but also we see that he wants it for the
benefits of others while with Hotspur it is pretty clear to see that he used deception to try and gain
power just for selfish reasons. Two of the characters take the same route to achieve power and
influence, deception, but their intentions for doing so differ. On one hand there s King Henry, who
although he does not appear a lot throughout the play, one can

Sustainability and Organic Foods Essay
Sustainability and Organic Foods
People nowadays are getting into the go green lifestyle while others continue to live without
thinking about the effects they have on the environment. Why do people go green? It can save you
money, it is the right thing to do, it is healthier because there are less toxins and less illness, it is
helping future generations, and it is a chance to connect with the local community and spread the
word. To go along with this lifestyle and its benefits, cateringcompanies are pushing to become
more environmentally sustainable and have more local and organic food options. Although
everyone is experiencing this push, it can be easier or more difficult depending on the position each
caterer is in currently. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Un served food products would be donated to local charities and fryer grease would be collected
and recycled (Shock, 2011, p. 134). I could maybe consider solar panels or reducing the use of
paper by having reusable menus for example. Becoming more sustainable and having healthier
and fresher options comes with a price. Depending on how much you want to change can affect
the financial impact, but generally more efficient equipment and organic foods are more
expensive. So generally if you are eventually upgrade the building, appliances, and food options
to be eco friendly and organic the financial impact will be large but also positive because
overtime you should be making your money back and more as well as helping the environment.
Organic and local foods always come at a higher price because they are naturally grown rather
than artificially with chemicals at a faster rate. Organic farmers work hard to grow their foods
naturally at a much slower pace so they need to increase their prices to make it worthwhile. If a
catering company is buying more expensive foods, it impacts the prices on the menu and causes
them to rise so they can still make profit. These days I believe a company can still be competitive
with higher prices because many people are looking for on premise caterers who offer these
healthier options. Many people are worried about the increasing obesity rates and staying healthy
so they are willing to pay more for those options. Like stated

Ethical Issues In The Challenger Disaster
The Challenger Disaster was a major incident occurring on January 28, 1986, in which seven
astronauts lost their lives, and the public s trust in NASA was rocked. It was revealed over time
however, that an engineering flaw caused the incident two rubber O rings that not only were
advised against prior to launch, but inevitably failed to serve their purpose. Nevertheless, one may
question what ethical values the engineers and their superiors were considering as they were
launching the shuttle, and why they launched the shuttle regardless of the warning. This is clearly
stated in a doctrine called the NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers), as one of their
Fundamental Canons is to Hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare... Show more content on

However, after further investigations from a special commission by the president, another factor in
play was NASA itself, who allowed the launch despite the warnings from its engineers. The
warnings of the engineers were blatantly ignored as they were proclaiming that the O rings may not
be able to stand the cold temperatures of that day, and launched the shuttle regardless (Cite About
Education). In terms of the NSPE, the engineers were serving their duty by warning the superiors,
thus attempting to bring concern to the issue at hand, but sadly to no avail. Without their warning,
it may have been substantially more difficult to decipher the cause behind the shuttle s rapid
disintegration. As a necessity however, another investigation that Reagan ordered had to be
thorough, so that his team could maximize their potential of finding another potential problem with
the challenger. Coincidentally they did, with the initial cause being the O ring, but the secondary
cause being a booster that slammed into the fuel tank, causing the liquid hydrogen and oxygen to
mix and combust, thus causing the shuttle s rapid deterioration. With this information, the shuttle
designers were obligated to make several changes to the shuttle for the future, and the NASA
program was grounded until they did so (Cite About Education). It can be said that in this particular

A JOKE ! Globalization !
Question: What is the height of globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana s death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a
German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was high on Scottish whiskey,
followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles, treated by an American doctor,
using Brazilian medicines! And this is sent to you by an Indian, using Bill Gates technology,
which he stole from the Japanese. And you are probably reading this on one of the IBM clones
that use Philippine made chips, and Korean made monitors, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in
a Singapore plant, transported by lorries driven by Malaysians, hijacked by Indonesians and finally
sold to you by a Chinese!
That s Globalization!

Coco colonization a market created to promote a consumerist culture.
Cultural imperialism overpowering local traditions; western ideals falsely established as universal.
McDonaldization a fast food doctored to spread efficient, controllable, and predictable human

knowledge for survival as time progresses new technologies appear to help evaluate the fishingand

A bag limit is the number of fish a person could take of an individual species of fish. Some of the
major variables that scientist look for is the anatomy of the fish, human intervention and
pressure of the individual fish species, and climate. Every single species of fish is different.
Baitfish are meant to be consumed by predator fish therefore they are plentiful and usually in
abundance so there are no bag limits. Even the color of the fish is important. Red Snapper is in
abundance because they are Red. In the fish eye spectrum red is invisible so these fish are
plentiful so the government does not have to put strict regulations. Offspring is also very
important some fish lay thousands of eggs because in reality not many will survive, but bigger
fish will lay less numbered fish because the chance of survival is much higher for these fish
species. Math is all around these subjects because scientist collects data and numbers from
oceans to predict and examine a bag limit. There is also statistics in bag limits because scientist
have to go out collect data on the fish and as well as the people. For example the popularity of
the fish correlates directly to the number of offspring a fish produce. If a fish produces a lot of
off spring and there s no demand for the fish then no bag limits should be placed, vice versa. In the

Why Do American Children Are Afraid To Grow Up Essay
(first quote)We as a group are divided with these statements above. A few of us agree with the
first quote ... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things
from a different angle. because children can become very closed minded in society because of
varying stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and
they just began to stick with it instead of personally analyzing the situation and forming their own
opinions. 3. Due to the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a
different perspective on their daily tasks. Children now have a one track mind meaning that once
they have an idea in mind they do not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue
that 21st century children have declined in their ability to elaborate on topics. For example, a
teacher at our school even claimed herself that in her 29 years of teaching she has seen a decline

The Effects Of Malnutrition On Educational Disparities
The Impact of Malnutrition on Educational Disparities in Africa
By: Merette Khalil and Blessing Kuebee, African Students Association At the start of the
millennium, various United Nations (UN) partners came together to tackle some of the world s
deadliest and most pressing social and economic problems, and in doing so, established the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In the past 15 years, the MDGs have been evaluated
and re evaluated. This year the UN has declared a new set of 17 goals for the next 15 years called
the Sustainable Development Goals. The first issue on both agendas is the eradication of extreme
poverty and hunger, a problem that is specifically significant for the entire continent of Africa.
Clarifying a few terms based on the World Food Program s definition is essential to understanding
the scope of the problem.
Hunger is not having enough to eat to meet energy requirements. It can lead to malnutrition, which
is a condition when one s diet does not provide adequate nutrients for growth and maintenance or
when a person is not able to adequately utilize the food consumed due to illness. Undernutrition,
being nutrient deficient, being underweight and even being overweight are all complications that
result from hunger.
Undernourishment is when a person is not able to acquire enough food to meet the daily minimum
dietary energy requirements, over a period of one year.
Wasting is rapid weight loss or a failure to gain weight and is strongly related

Resolved: On balance, the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election

To better the round, we clarify the following:
First, the definition of election process
ELECTIONS are based on three organizing concepts: equal respect, free choice, and popular
sovereignty are the building blocks of fair and just elections. The democratic process should treat
all citizens as free and equal persons. As applied to the electoral process this requires that each

3. Citizens United increases political polarization
A. Increased levels of political spending increase polarization
In the 2012 Presidential election, the majority of outside spending was a result of the Citizens
United decision1. The unique increase of money translated into an increase in television ads, radio
ads, and direct mailings. Unfortunately, the large increase in political rhetoric caused a move to
political extremes rivaling those at the end of the Civil War2. It explains that micro targeting of
advertising allowed corporations and Super PACS to create echo chambers, where only points of
view in agreement with the audience were expressed. Polarization was an issue before the Citizens
United ruling, but the unique increase in rhetoric caused the worst polarization in 120 years.
B. Polarization causes increasing amounts of low information voters
Increased shifts to the political extremes causes voters to vote in lockstep with party leaders.
Polarized voters are less informed on energy, healthcare, education, and other key issues4. Polarized
voters also ignore fundamental arguments in favor of partisanship. When told that their party
endorsed a certain stance, the polarized voters became more supportive, regardless of facts.

True Religion Jeans Case
The ups and downs of the premium jeans industry and the constant fluctuating of threats to the
industry made it interesting to see how the denim lines would respond. They were originated in
the 1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e.
Brooke Shields) to endorse the product. Since they were higher priced compared to your
common, regular blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to
serve as fashion statements as opposed to comfort. They started off well in early on in the 1980s,
but then hit a decline just a few years later. The mid 1990s came and they surpassed their highest

As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end,
premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans
that are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium
/high rise jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers
fashion senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the
casual, relaxed fit jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008
where many were trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the
case described. The aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000
income per year) who is willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that
all jean types are a threat of substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of
pants in general. People love wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot
of dresses and skirts nowadays, leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears
shorts at some point in the year. So these are threats of substitutes as well. Lastly, any other high
end products people could choose to spend money on pose as threats as well. Maybe consumers
will choose to spend their money on high end accessories such as a new watch, or maybe a

Effects Of Erosion Control On The Environment
Erosion control
Before any new construction begins in the United States the state or local municipality typically
requires an environmental impact statement, plan for erosion control, inspections and any other
methods needed to protect the environment from chemicals used, debris, and other waste which
might seep into the groundwater or land and pollute those important natural resources. Our project
is building in Huntsville, Alabama. We plan to follow advice for Low Impact Development, will
use for meeting civil standards for erosion control, such as water purity for example, underground
pipes for sewage. We also plan to attend any soil and water seminars offered before building begins
to learn as much as possible about any new developments in environmental codes.
We will begin to use autocad software to gain a clear picture of the building and the surrounding
area to help see possible sites where erosion might be a problem. The area in which the building
will be located is subject to erosion from wind, rain, and water, which is the primary source of
erosion in Alabama. Therefore, protection from water erosion caused by rains will be one of our
primary concerns. The autocad software will tell us the area we need to protect in it entirely, and
we will use a black silt fence for his purpose. Black silk fence comes in rolls of hundreds of feet,
and if that isn t enough connectors are available to connect additional silt fence.

The Great Gatsby Compare And Contrast Essay
The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of the most famous books in American literature.
This books shows American life during the 1920s and how greed and materialism were taking over
the American dream. The film director, Baz Luhrmann puts his effort to turn Fitzgerald s
masterpiece into the movie, The Great Gatsby. The actor in the movie do a pretty decent job in
portraying the characters in the book. The narrator of the book, Nick Carraway, is played by
Tobey Maguire. Maguire does a nice job of showing how disturbed by the events that occurred in

A main difference is that Nick is found in a sanitarium, telling the doctor all the events that led
up to Gatsby s death. This does not take place in the book. He never goes to a doctor to get help.
In fact, Nick goes back to the home in the Middle west to write the story. Another difference is
that in the movie Jordan Baker doesn t tell Nick about Tom s affair, when Nick goes to Daisy s
house for the first time. In the book, Jordan does tell Nick that Tom is having an affair when
Daisy leaves. Nick and Jordan s relationship is not shown too much in the movie, which is a
downside of the movie. The book, however, shows that they were dating, their break up, and
their first kiss. Also the part where everyone goes to New York is also different. At the hotel in
the movie, Gatsby gets really mad and he almost hits Tom. Gatsby doesn t do anything like that in
the book. This made the movie more entertaining and it showed it showed daisy going away from
Gatsby better. Even with these changes, the basic plot of the book and the movie is basically the

Insurable Interest Essay
What is Insurable Interest in a Maritime Insurance Policy
The term insurable interest refers to the benefit (or interest) a person has in an insured object (or
person as in a life insurance insurable interest). This benefit can refer to a financial benefit, among
others. A person has insurable interest in a thing when he or she would experience some kind of
loss (financial or otherwise) if the thing were to be damaged or lost.
Say that you have piece of jewelry in your home that is also a family heirloom. If someone were
to steal it (or if you were to drop it down the sink, or in the toilet, or even lose it in the garbage)
you would suffer different kinds of loss, both financial and emotional. Thus, you have an insurable

There is no requirement of insurable interest when the contract is made. This section also allows
the subject matter of a marine policy to be insured lost or not lost . This means that it is possible
for the insured to recover under a marine policy even if he acquired his interest after the loss has
occurred, unless he was aware of the loss and the insurer was not. These rules reflect the practices
of marine trade where cargo frequently changes ownership in the course of transit. In this case there
is a transfer of rights i.e assignment of interest.
Assignment of Interest may be done by endorsement in blank that is to sign the policy.
Alternatively, this can be also done by signing in favor of one other person. In turn, only that person
can then claim to be the rightful owner. The law permits this unless the policy states otherwise.
However, hull policies prohibit assignment even though the marine act promotes this transfer of
rights.
An interesting fact is that companies can have insurable interest in their workers, both in higher ups
and in those lower down the ladder. There has been some controversy about this recently, where
companies took life insurance policies out on their employees without their employees consent. In
these instances, the companies collected the policies on their deceased employees, who sometimes
did not even work for them anymore.
Of course companies have

Peppered Moth Essay
The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that
involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the
1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light,
medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor
widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information
that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it
works by using several pen update commands which execute the global variables (light, medium,
dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section... Show more

The setup and go button would help prepare the world with the specific amount of moths, and run
the stimulation respectively. The mutation slider would control the mutation rate of the moths
changing color. A lower mutation rate establish a correlation between the color of the parent moth
and the color of the offspring, whereas a high mutation rate like 100% represent that the color of the
parent moth and the offspring do not necessary have to be related. Moreover, the selection slider
determine the survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0
percent, the ever moth have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the
moth to camouflage is very important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution
levels in the environment, much like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to
manually manipulate the pollution levels of the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider
would control the rate at which the pollution level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100
being the fastest. Lastly, the monitors would document either the total amount of moths, the
number of moths for each three types of color, the pollution rate, or the time as shown by the

Christian Beliefs About Euthanasia
Beliefs of Different Religions About Euthanasia
For this essay I have decided to study the two religions Christianity and Buddhism. Buddhism has
no major denominations, unlike Christianity, which has many denominations around the globe.
However, I am only going to focus on Christianity as a whole, quoting teachings from the Bible (Old
and New Testament), and then referring to the two major denominations of Anglican and Roman
Catholic when their points on euthanasia are absolute. I have chosen those particular
denominations of Christianity because Anglican represents Christianity as a whole, a basis, and
Catholicism has some very strict rules that cannot be ignored.
Firstly, I shall explain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christians also believe that we are all equal as human beings. Therefore someone who is
paralysed in a wheelchair, unable to do anything for themselves and barely conscious has the
same social equality of someone who is perfectly normal. This is because God is benevolent (all
loving) and so can love everyone the same, regardless of their physical being. So to perform
euthanasia on someone in a vegetative state would be morally similar to performing it on a normal
human, simply because human lives are valued by God. Apart from valuing each other s lives,
Christians are morally against euthanasia because they are against killing. Do not kill states one of
the Ten Commandments, and by committing euthanasia would violate this rule.
Euthanasia is a grave violation of the law of God, since it is the deliberate and morally
unacceptable killing of a human person. Pope John Paul II: Evangelium Vitae, 1995. This is a
quote using by Roman Catholics, demonstrating their absolute morals on killing. They believe it is
completely unacceptable to kill anyone else, because God said that it was wrong to. Even when
Anglicans may be persuaded that euthanasia is the best option for a person, out of love and
compassion for a human, Catholics will not be convinced. They believe that killing of any kind is
wrong, no matter what the

Clean Water In Cambodia Essay
783 million people in the world are without access to clean sustainable water. The impact of the
lack of clean water can be seen in countries such as Cambodia, Ethiopia, and India. The trash in
villages of Cambodia seeps into the standing water and releases toxins in the ground which enters
into the water. The lack of clean water has Cambodian children exposed to diseases. While in
Ethiopia, an examination shows that fifty one percent of the populations drinking water in the rural
areais unimproved. To better understand more about access to clean water, it s necessary to take
a look at India. Twenty one percent of India s diseases are water related and when a water system
is installed, it adds to the overall development of water. Access to clean, sustainable water is needed
for survival; in countries such as Cambodia, Ethiopia, and India, this is difficult.
Cambodia, a country in southeast Asia, is situated on a peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand. It gets
most of its water during the rainy season from the monsoons. An examination from the CIA
studies of Cambodia reveals that its climate is very tropical with a rainy, monsoon season. This
suggests that much of Cambodia s water is from its heavy monsoons. This is vital because this is
where most of the water comes from in Cambodia and needs to be kept clean.
In Cambodia, the water is very unsanitary due to the lack of infrastructure and its sanitation. An

A pidgin language creates a way of communication among groups of people who lack a common

Chicken Pox is a virus caused by varicella zoster, a member of the herpes family. This same virus
also is a cause of herpes zoster other known as shingles in adults. Chicken pox is very contagious
and can easily spread to people. Chicken pox is acquired by coming into contact with the fluid of
a chicken pox blister, or airborne by an infected person sneezing near you. The blister like rash
usually lasts five to ten days. The incubation period lasts 10 21 days and a person with chickenpox

The person should avoid scratching or rubbing the itchy areas and keep their fingernails short to
avoid damaging the skin. The infected person should avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat
and humidity. The use of over the counter antihistamines or hydrocortisone creams may be
recommended for itch relief. Some doctors may prescribe antivirals if the rash began within 24
hours. Antiviral medication is not usually prescribed to otherwise healthy children who do not
have severe symptoms. Antivirals are usually prescribed to high risk groups whom are prone to
severe symptoms such as eczema, lung conditions, or who immunocompromised individuals. The
infected person should also be advised to avoid aspirin due to association with a serious condition
called Reyes syndrome or Ibuprofen due to the association of more severe secondary infections.
Tylenol is recommended for fever relief. Some complications that can occur are bacterial infections
secondary to scratching, encephalitis, pneumonia and death. The preventions of chickenpox are
acquired by vaccination with the varicella vaccine in children, adolescents, and adults, and the
herpes zoster vaccine for persons of 60 and older (Maurer Smith). The Centers for Disease and

to obtain proper treatment. Another consequence was uncovered racism in the medical community.
This lead people to believe that the reason the experiment went on so long was because the subjects

informed consent by subjects and mandatory review of all proposed studies by groups called

Throughout history people s views on certain subjects have often changed, and with these
changes have come disagreements. In some cases, when one disagrees on a subject, such as a

Romanticism In The Romantic Period
The Romanic period held great tools in which to develop personal expression within poetry As
popularity shifted from Neoclassism, a rigid writing form whereby poets and writers were
encouraged to copy those who also shared the poetic platform, to an increased in the importance of
the individual capabilities. Critic Christopher John Murray argues that The idea of poetryas the
sincere personal expression of the individual author emerged as central to the Romantic lyric and to
aesthetics and hermeneutics more generally connected to the increasingly important idea of genius
as a uniquely personal power of creative imagination and expression. This confirms my theory that
there during the Romantic Period there a shift from more social values in literature to a focus now
on personal ability .The importance of asking the question of why and how this shift from
Neoclassical to Romantic happened, is essential in understanding the literature of the time. Not only
was the mechanical and rigid Enlightenment rejected, the new period known as Romantic period
ordered for emotional directness and the overflow of personal feeling. Although Romanticism
pathed the way for self expression, some Poets were still very much favoring rhetoric, Angela
Esterhammer comments on this, Though Romanticism is often considered as the period which saw
the emergence of self expression as a poetic model and an ethos, a good many of the Romantic
poets were formally trained in rhetoric. Romantic

Analysis Road Warrior
Analyzing the Road Warrior
The Road Warrior sequence when Max first arrives to Tire City is full of action, sound effects,
music, camera shots, wardrobe symbolisms, and survival instincts. The Road Warrior (George
Miller, 1981). I will be writing about the time that Max rescued a victim (Nathen) and returned
him back to his tire people located deep within the deserts. The scene will continue all the way up
to when the refinery people come to make a deal with the tire peoples. The movie is set in a time
where a lack of resources is desperately needed. The viewer could notice that people in this
apocalyptic environment need resources because of everyone desperately needing fuel. There is
also a lot of scraps that are being used to build towns, clothes, weapons, and cars. The people of
this apocalyptic world are trying to adapt to this environment using up any resource they can.
Furthermore, I get a sense that the world might have gone bad due to rioting, nuclear warfare, or
global warming because of the town being all the way in the dessert and the deprives of resources.
These are extremely relatable to the problems occurring in today s time. In conclusion, the
environment is extremely harsh and the humane instinct kicks in when people have the will to live
which was shown within this scene.

The Ark of the Covenant is one of the Bible s most sacred objects. It s considered a legendary

How Did Henry Ford Assembly Line Impact The World
The Henry Ford Assembly line, it was invented in the year 1913. Henry Ford installed the first
moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile, the model T. His
innovation reduced the time it took to build a car from more than a half a day to make a single
car, to about 2 hours. He believed that there was certain principle in order to better his
production, which was interchangeable parts, continuous flow, the division of labor, and
reducing wasted effort.Using interchangeable parts meant making the individual pieces of the
car the exact same as the next car, which helped make things faster due to the less confusion of
which piece is which. Therefore, it was able to open the job market, by allowing low skilled
workers to work besides special skilled workers which lead to improving the flow of the work.
Due to the fact, the next step couldn t be complete without the previous step. So Ford divided the

could be damage done to ones property. The company could face possible lawsuits and in order
to prove negligence, an individual must have had a duty of care, which is defined as having
responsibility to act in the best interest of another. A company must always be ready to defend
itself in all the possible issues that may arise and cause any form of lawsuit (WiseGeek, 2003).
Recalled Product
Even though businesses do not like to recall its products, but when there is a safety problem
involved a recall takes precedent over rather a company will lose money. Recalls are necessary
to protect consumers from injuries, and to save lives. Recalls are beneficial to everyone when
expedited effectively. From the act of negligence a company could publicly be exposed which
could result in profit loss due to consumers being afraid or refuse to purchase the product, and the
stock values could fall if the company is publicly traded. This can be very damaging for a business
and could ultimately force the company to go out of business (Seaquist, 2012).
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is an independent regulatory agency
responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury and death associated with
consumer products. The CPSC has jurisdiction over approximately 15,000 different types of

House On Mango Street Book Assignment
Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango
Street by Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza
Cordero and a year of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American
girl, or Chicana, living in a congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of
Chicago. The story begins with Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street
which she describes as an upgrade from their previous house but it is still not the home her heart
desires. Esperanza has big dreams of eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real
house with a big yard and multiple washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television.
Esperanza s journey into maturity and development is described through these interestingly
written vignettes. She begins writing poetry as a way of expressing the events happening in her
life such as developing friends, puberty and sprouting hips, and even dealing with sexual assault.
The first half of the book begins with Esperanza wanting to continue to play in her little child
bubble but is pushed into the world of adulthood when dealing with the deaths of her grandfather
and Aunt Lupe and when she is abruptly kissed by an older man while at her first job. Esperanza
also writes about her neighbors and happenings of the neighborhood to paint a picture of the
different paths in life that are available to her. She switches her interest to the older women of the
neighborhood who each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Comparison Of Superman And Wonder Woman
I am enjoying this discussion about Wonder Woman, even though I am not a huge fan of DC
Comics or superhero films. However, I love Superman and Wonder Woman films and television
series from the 80 s. Remember the Superman movies starring Christopher Reeves and the
Wonder Woman television series from the 80s (I grew up in the 80s)? Since we are speaking
about films based on classic childhood favorites, I have another example to add: Goonies. A
group of five boys (the Goonies) live in a town scheduled for demolition but this clique refuses to
give up without a fight. When these Goonies discover One eyed Willie s hidden treasure map they
depart from their normal life to hunt his treasure in hopes of being able to save their parent s
homes. Now,

Impact of Hyksos Essay Plan
To what extent did the Hyksos occupation of Egypt influence the development of early New
Kingdom Egypt.
Introduction:
The Hyksos invaded and occupied Egypt from the 15th 17th dynasties known as the second
intermediate period, before their eventual defeat by the Egyptians which started the 18th dynasty.
The Hyksos were highly important to the development of New Kingdom Egypt
With several new technologies brought it by the Hyksos, e.g. smaller, quicker horse drawn chariots,
composite bow etc.
The Egyptians were now residing in Thebes and surrounded by enemies with the Hyksos to the
north and the newly allied Nubians to the south.

The war itself lead to goods and wealth coming into the country through trade routes throughout

As a result of the Hyksos wars, Egypt was no longer isolated and before long began to play a full
part in the developments and trade of the Eastern Mediterranean. (Grimal)
Body 2: Technology
Without invasion of the Hyksos, and their introduction of new technologies, the Egyptians would
have possibly not been faced with the wealth and prosperity seen in New Kingdom Egypt. also not
having the means to surpass and destroy the Hyksos
The technology introduced by the Hyksos domination provided the Egyptians with the incentive
and the means towards world expansion and so laid the foundations and to a great extent
determined the character of the New Kingdom (Bradley)

Watson And Crick What Is Life Summary
The quest for deoxyribonucleic acid was a search that had drawn out for quite a long time. The
fame for the discovery of the structure of the double helix belonged to Watson and Crick, for they
had debunked the mystery in 1953. Their finding denoted a milestone in the history of science. It
also set the path for future biology studies. This study like all others, began with a solitary idea, a
single experiment, which sparked future generations to follow the same path. This follows the fact
that the scientific methodis not linear, it is circular. Utilizing this, the two researchers, Watson and
Crick, began with a purpose, collected background research on the topic, and created a hypothesis
which led them to results that may or may not have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While both John Watson and Francis Crickdid not start out the task of uncovering the structure of
DNA, they both eased into it. At the time of my arrival, Francis theories spread far beyond the
confines of protein crystallography. Anything important would attract him (9). A major factor in
his leaving physics and developing an interest in biology has been the reading in 1946 of What is
Life? by the noted theoretical physicist Erwin SchrИЌdinger (13). This demonstrates that while
Crick did leave physics, he did it for a reason. After reading the novel, he was inspired to start a
new science life. Instead of focusing on protein crystallography, the book s ideology moved
Crick s attention to DNA. It was Wilkins who had first excited me about X ray work on DNA...
My interest in DNA had grown out (21). This indicates how Watson commenced his search on
DNA. Although not stated outright, Watson got his ideas from Wilkin. He had observed Maurice
s words and from this, he began to question and became intrigued. The same is applicable to
Francis. He embarked on the path of DNA because of the book What is Life?, which shows that it
must have sparked inquiries, since he developed an interest in biology and then acted upon it with
Watson alongside

How Did Stalin Use Propaganda
Secondly, both exploited propaganda to promote their own ideology to the society and cult of
personality to strengthen their supreme authority. The USSR mainly used cult of personality to
promote the god like figure of the supreme leader of Stalin. The personality cult and the
adulation Stalin received were two of the most striking features of Soviet propaganda. By the
end of the 1940s, Stalin dominated the USSR physically as well as politically. His images were
found everywhere, as he has already been exaggeratedly deified. Praise was stacked on Stalin
personally and his link with Lenin and his role in the achievements of the First Five Year Plan
was emphasized. From 1935 onwards, it was possible to speak of Stalin only in glowing terms.
He was portrayed as the leader (vozhd), a genius with great wisdom and even prophetic powers.
The portrayal of Stalin gave his people confidence that they would have a strong and powerful
leader to take them through all those difficult and crucial times. Paintings and drawings, poetry and
sculpture of Stalin all served as the cult. Stalin was very popular at that time which these

Batek of Malaysia
Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (GSF1049E) January 17, 2011
The Batek of Malaysia
The Batek of Malaysia is a hunter gatherer tribe, they are located in the Malaysian rainforest in
groups of families. They would be considered Foragers, They live in camps of five or six nuclear
families. Nuclear families consist of a Mother, Father, and their children. The nuclear familyis most
common because, in a foraging setting, it is adaptive to various situations. (Cultural Anthropology
Chapter 3.7 Social Organization)
There are few differences in the way men and women behave and contribute to camp life. Both the
husband and the wife raise the children; and, although generally men take care of hunting (using

The couple can choose to live where ever they want, generally they will alternate between the
camps of their parents. Although initially the couple resides matrilocally, but after a year or so,
they move to the man s band and live patrilocally. Even after years of marriage, some couples
continue to shift from one band to the other, keeping their kin ties strong with both bands.
Monogamy is the normal expectations between the couples. But divorce is very common. It is
usually common to take place in the early years of a marriage, prior to the birth of any children.
The wife is who typically initiates the separation. Among Batek, in which moving in together
merges into marriage, once they are no longer living together they are considered divorced, but both
parents will still care for the children. Infants will most likely stay with their mother, who is
breastfeeding them, but older children may choose the parent they want to live with, and they can
move back and forth without causing animosity between the divorced parents.

Hofstede s Six Dimensions Of Culture
When a leader is born, raised and works in the same cultural area, he/she is adapted to the cultural
environment. But whenever a person has to lead a team consisting of intercultural people or even
when a leader has to move to a different country, the cultural differences might become an obstacle
for successful leadership. Different countries, nations have different history, values, religion. A
successful leader has to understand such differences to be effective. Hofstede s Six Dimensions of
Culture is an effective framework that helps to find and understand cultural differences of other
parts of the world and to overcome the misunderstandings that might erupt unintentionally.
At the end of 1970s Dutch psychologist Dr. Geert Hofstede created Four Dimensions of Culture.
Based on data from more than 40 countries he and his research team identified dimensions that
perceive cultures. Dr. Hofstede analyzed questionnaires of employees of a big international
company IBM with offices all over the world. He found it very important, that it is better to take
into consideration the whole cluster (country) and look for similarities in it, rather than concentrate
on individuals. ...they [IBM employees] were similar in all respects except nationality, which made
the effect of national differences in their answers stand out unusually clearly (Hofstede, 2011).
Each country received a score 0 100 for each of the dimensions. When placed relative to other
countries, using the scores it

Information flows around the world
Marshall McLuhan, a Canadian philosopher of communication theory, developed the concept of the
term Global Village in two of his earliest books The Gutenberg Galaxy, in 1962, and Understanding
Media: The Extension of Man, in 1964.
He defined global village as a small village where electronic media made it possible, and how the
information flows from parts of the world at the same time (Mcluhan, 1964).
No matter how far or near of anything happen around the globe, people can see and hear of what
have been occurred immediately, with just matter of seconds. Electronic media, Mcluhan said,
made people aware of and respond to issues happened around the globe as if it happen in the same
village people are living in. Today, after more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Fraser, Nance (1992, p. 110), Public Sphere is a theater in modern societies in which
political participation is enacted through the medium of talk . Participatory democracy is a core
concept of the public sphere. It is where people come to together to form a public opinion, and that
it affects to political action.
The only legitimate governments are governments that have its laws and policies shifted by the
public opinion of the public sphere (Benhabib, 1992). Democratic governance rests on the capacity
of and opportunity for citizens to engage in enlightened debate (Hauser, 1998, p.83).
In addition, both concepts of the public sphere and the global village have put a concentration and
demonstrate the importance of the use of the media.
According to Habermas (1962), the public sphere was set up and happened in many locations
such as coffee shops, salons, somewhere in society where individuals could assemble and talk of
public matters. With the emergence of the bourgeois public sphere, there is a publishing enterprise,
newspaper, where the formed public opinions of people are bridged to government and other
societies. Newspaper has been a main tool to use in the public sphere.
Later on, According to Habermas (1962), with the emergence of the capitalist system, people more
concern with their consumption rather than the political action. So, media has become an arena for
commercialization and advertising. In addition, the development of the

Impaired serotonin function has clearly demonstrated to be linked to clinical depression, because
low levels of serotonin may negatively affect mechanisms involved in maintaining recovery from
depression. However, there is evidence the serotonin pathways may not directly influence mood but
may be important mechanisms in depression due to an indirect consequence of shifts in autonomic
emotional responses, i.e., the impaired function may simply cause emotional responses to become
unstable contributing to depression. Therefore, Prozac, which acts as an inhibitor of the mechanism
that reduces serotonin, can help to reduce this emotional imbalance. However, serotonin alone is
often not sufficient in treating depression, as there are many mechanisms involved that are
associated with depression.

  • 2. How Personal Organization Can Have Direct Impact On Your... Is your laptop, monitor or desk covered in sticky notes? Do you use a different notebook or pad of paper each time you take notes at a meeting or on a call? Do you scribble notes and tasks on odd pieces of paper and then keep them in stacks on your desk? If you answered yes (and hopefully cringed) to any of those questions, then I m going to venture to guess that you are perhaps in desperate need of improving your organizational skills! Personal organization can have direct impact on your small business s success. When your important tasks, projects, events and schedule are all managed in a productive way, the result is likely to be that your business is also organized and able to grow. Poor organization skills lead to low productivity, which in turn leads to wasted time and effort. That s wasted time and effort you simply can t afford when you are working hard at growing your small business. To improve your personal organization skills, it s important to develop a system that works well for you and your particular environment. An effective organization system is ideally developed over time, and requires consistency and discipline. As I believe the saying goes, it takes 21 days of repeated action to form a habit. However many days it really does take, we typically don t develop our bad habits overnight so we can t expect to correct them in a day either. Your personal organization system does not have to be complex or high tech for it to be effective. My ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

STORY COMMENTS THE STRENGTH OF TEN MEN is a captivating action, thriller. The strength of this story is no doubt the complex and highly compelling characters that drive the plot. The core characters are thrust into a harrowing life and death situation where the stakes are extremely high. The script offers intriguing twist and turns. There are solid themes about trust, family, believing, and faith. The idea of a young orphan girl teaming up with an enforcer is an appealing plotline. There s a smart twist when the enforcer turns out to be the person who killed the young girl s father. In addition, a ruthless Mexican mobster hunts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the most part, it sounds crisp and has a nice rhythm. The voices of the characters are consistent with their personalities and reveals information about them. The only area that should be polished is the running gag about whores. This is still overdone. It s funny in the beginning, but then loses its charm. The discussion about big dicks isn t all that engaging. The overall tension works best in the opening. The conflict and tension in the second act can be stronger if there s more of an urgency and ticking clock. The current pace hinders this. The tension doesn t enhance again until the midpoint. The script is professionally presented although there are a few minor typos (pages 4, 45, and 54). Also, the character of Dennis introduced twice. SUMMARY MARKETABILITY The plot is engaging and merits consider with revisions, especially in the first half of the script regarding the goal, tension, pace, and action. The strengths of this script are the characters and they can attract talent. The action is also well crafted. The script should be marketable in both the domestic and international market. The script should appeal to the mainstream action, thriller audience. See grid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Different Development of the New England, Southern,... The Different Development of the New England, Southern, and Middle Colonies America was a place for dreams and new beginnings, until white people arrived in 1607. Three groups sailed over the treacherous Atlantic from their cruel lives in England to set up peaceful religious colonies. The only problem is that they attempted to settle in their own way and all failed dismally. The New England, Middle and Southern Colonies grew differently over the period 1619 1760.Examining the three sets of colonies will prove that they were all different: socially, economically, politically but not philosophically. Socially the three groups of colonies developed differently. The New England Colonies life was dominated by the Puritan religion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The three colonies all wanted to make money but they had to go about it in different ways. This was mainly due to what they had available. The New England Colonies were mainly agricultural farmers. With all the water reservoirs like Cape Cod there were plenty of fish so lots of people became fishermen. There were a lot of lumberjacks to cut down trees and export them to England. The Middle Colonies were extremely different because they set up extensive cosmopolitan cities reminiscent of New York. They had many specialists like doctors, lawyers, accountants, and teachers. They traded a lot with in North America and occasionally overseas. The Southern Colonies primarily depended on cotton and tobacco plantations. As the plantations grew they had to employ black slaves. The plantations were fully self contained with their own blacksmith, teachers and professionals. So there were no big cities or towns. The main plantations traded directly with Europe via the Mississippi. The three colonies all made money differently with their diverse professions and traders. The three colonies all had comparable similarities, as they were all democratic. But they ran their democratic government differently. For instance the New England Colonies was a Theocracy, which meant that the church controlled the government. The Middle Colonies had their church and government separate. The Southern Colonies were the most inequitable as they were an Oligarchy. This meant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Electric Hybrid Energy Storage Systems Abstraction The energy storage technology is quite important for electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles due to requirement of more power and more efficient with minor compromise on weight and volume. The challenge for developing more advanced energy storage system is capacity or energy density and specific power cannot be achieved at the same time. More specific power means less energy density, and vice versa. The supercapacitor Li ion hybrid energy storagesystem has both advantages of these two kinds of energy storage technology. It has high energy density as well as high specific power. The paper will introduce about this hybrid energy storage system, discuss about its advantages and drawbacks, and compare this system with other kinds of energy storage systems. Keywords: Supercapacitor, Lithium ion battery, hybrid energy storage system 1. Introduction Currently, electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles attract more and more people s attention. The benefits of electric hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles are less fuel cost, less emissions, less maintenance etc. But there are still many drawbacks such as higher price, less space in electric hybrid vehicles, require recharging everyday on plug in hybrids and pure electric vehicles, limited mileage per recharging in pure electric vehicles etc. There are many engineering challenges along with these drawbacks. • 7. Asch Conformity Research Paper Conformity is Key Back in the year 1951, a psychologist by the name of Solomon Asch first began to investigate the theory of conformity. He opened up a whole new door in the field of psychology and his findings later influenced many other great psychologists such as Stanley Milgram (Slater 40) . Asch s experiments made many heads turn and scientists began to wonder more and more about the human brain. However, I think the biggest question with Asch s Conformityexperiment would be: With so many small flaws, could his work really be considered credible in today s society? First off I ll explain a little of what the Asch conformity experiments really conducted of. In each experiment, an innocent minded subject was put in a room with many other participants that were actually actors in the experiment. The subjects that were tested were told that they were taking part in a vision test. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is shown in multiple studies that women are slightly more susceptible to conform because they feel a higher need to be accepted in society (Vaughan Hogg 2013). While this is true, the conformity distinction between male and female relies upon familiarities. For instance if you are asking women to name a type of wrench, they are more likely to go along with the group s answer because a wrench is more of a masculine object. It works the same way with men: If you were to ask men to name a specific type of needlework, they d be more likely to conform because they are unfamiliar with objects more feminine. However, if you were to ask both men and women about something neutral (i.e. a famous person) usually the percent of conformity would be rather equal, except maybe a little higher with ... • 8. Deception By William Shakespeare s Play In William Shakespeare s play 1 Henry IV, deception is a recurring theme. Main characters King Henry IV and Hotspur deceived other characters in order to benefit themselves. Were these characters deceiving their subordinates for the sole purpose of gaining power for themselves or were their choices and actions political strategy geared toward gaining honor and maintaining the well being of the nation? It is hard to answer this with an exact, correct answer since the only person that can really answer the question is no longer here, but from these two characters actions we can draw conclusions. However, it is not as black and white what their intentions were when they used deception since they both show qualities that make their deception look good and bad. The question arises from this, did King Henry and Hotspur use their deception merely for their own personal benefit or for the benefit of the country as a whole? Shakespeare depicted King Henry as having more complicated reasons for taking the throne since we see both sides where he shows he wants it for his own benefit but also we see that he wants it for the benefits of others while with Hotspur it is pretty clear to see that he used deception to try and gain power just for selfish reasons. Two of the characters take the same route to achieve power and influence, deception, but their intentions for doing so differ. On one hand there s King Henry, who although he does not appear a lot throughout the play, one can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I could maybe consider solar panels or reducing the use of paper by having reusable menus for example. Becoming more sustainable and having healthier and fresher options comes with a price. Depending on how much you want to change can affect the financial impact, but generally more efficient equipment and organic foods are more expensive. So generally if you are eventually upgrade the building, appliances, and food options to be eco friendly and organic the financial impact will be large but also positive because overtime you should be making your money back and more as well as helping the environment. Organic and local foods always come at a higher price because they are naturally grown rather than artificially with chemicals at a faster rate. Organic farmers work hard to grow their foods naturally at a much slower pace so they need to increase their prices to make it worthwhile. If a catering company is buying more expensive foods, it impacts the prices on the menu and causes them to rise so they can still make profit. These days I believe a company can still be competitive with higher prices because many people are looking for on premise caterers who offer these healthier options. Many people are worried about the increasing obesity rates and staying healthy so they are willing to pay more for those options. Like stated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ethical Issues In The Challenger Disaster The Challenger Disaster was a major incident occurring on January 28, 1986, in which seven astronauts lost their lives, and the public s trust in NASA was rocked. It was revealed over time however, that an engineering flaw caused the incident two rubber O rings that not only were advised against prior to launch, but inevitably failed to serve their purpose. Nevertheless, one may question what ethical values the engineers and their superiors were considering as they were launching the shuttle, and why they launched the shuttle regardless of the warning. This is clearly stated in a doctrine called the NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers), as one of their Fundamental Canons is to Hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, after further investigations from a special commission by the president, another factor in play was NASA itself, who allowed the launch despite the warnings from its engineers. The warnings of the engineers were blatantly ignored as they were proclaiming that the O rings may not be able to stand the cold temperatures of that day, and launched the shuttle regardless (Cite About Education). In terms of the NSPE, the engineers were serving their duty by warning the superiors, thus attempting to bring concern to the issue at hand, but sadly to no avail. Without their warning, it may have been substantially more difficult to decipher the cause behind the shuttle s rapid disintegration. As a necessity however, another investigation that Reagan ordered had to be thorough, so that his team could maximize their potential of finding another potential problem with the challenger. Coincidentally they did, with the initial cause being the O ring, but the secondary cause being a booster that slammed into the fuel tank, causing the liquid hydrogen and oxygen to mix and combust, thus causing the shuttle s rapid deterioration. With this information, the shuttle designers were obligated to make several changes to the shuttle for the future, and the NASA program was grounded until they did so (Cite About Education). A bag limit is the number of fish a person could take of an individual species of fish. Some of the major variables that scientist look for is the anatomy of the fish, human intervention and pressure of the individual fish species, and climate. Every single species of fish is different. Baitfish are meant to be consumed by predator fish therefore they are plentiful and usually in abundance so there are no bag limits. Even the color of the fish is important. Red Snapper is in abundance because they are Red. In the fish eye spectrum red is invisible so these fish are plentiful so the government does not have to put strict regulations. Offspring is also very important some fish lay thousands of eggs because in reality not many will survive, but bigger fish will lay less numbered fish because the chance of survival is much higher for these fish species. A few of us agree with the first quote ... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things from a different angle. because children can become very closed minded in society because of varying stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and they just began to stick with it instead of personally analyzing the situation and forming their own opinions. 3. Due to the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a different perspective on their daily tasks. Children now have a one track mind meaning that once they have an idea in mind they do not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue that 21st century children have declined in their ability to elaborate on topics. • 16. The Effects Of Malnutrition On Educational Disparities The Impact of Malnutrition on Educational Disparities in Africa By: Merette Khalil and Blessing Kuebee, African Students Association At the start of the millennium, various United Nations (UN) partners came together to tackle some of the world s deadliest and most pressing social and economic problems, and in doing so, established the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In the past 15 years, the MDGs have been evaluated and re evaluated. This year the UN has declared a new set of 17 goals for the next 15 years called the Sustainable Development Goals. The first issue on both agendas is the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, a problem that is specifically significant for the entire continent of Africa. Clarifying a few terms based on the World Food Program s definition is essential to understanding the scope of the problem. Hunger is not having enough to eat to meet energy requirements. It can lead to malnutrition, which is a condition when one s diet does not provide adequate nutrients for growth and maintenance or when a person is not able to adequately utilize the food consumed due to illness. Undernutrition, being nutrient deficient, being underweight and even being overweight are all complications that result from hunger. Undernourishment is when a person is not able to acquire enough food to meet the daily minimum dietary energy requirements, over a period of one year. Increased levels of political spending increase polarization In the 2012 Presidential election, the majority of outside spending was a result of the Citizens United decision1. The unique increase of money translated into an increase in television ads, radio ads, and direct mailings. Unfortunately, the large increase in political rhetoric caused a move to political extremes rivaling those at the end of the Civil War2. It explains that micro targeting of advertising allowed corporations and Super PACS to create echo chambers, where only points of view in agreement with the audience were expressed. Polarization was an issue before the Citizens United ruling, but the unique increase in rhetoric caused the worst polarization in 120 years. B. They were originated in the 1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e. Brooke Shields) to endorse the product. Since they were higher priced compared to your common, regular blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to serve as fashion statements as opposed to comfort. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end, premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans that are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium /high rise jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers fashion senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the casual, relaxed fit jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008 where many were trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the case described. The aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000 income per year) who is willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that all jean types are a threat of substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of pants in general. People love wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot of dresses and skirts nowadays, leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears shorts at some point in the year. Our project is building in Huntsville, Alabama. We plan to follow advice for Low Impact Development, will use for meeting civil standards for erosion control, such as water purity for example, underground pipes for sewage. We also plan to attend any soil and water seminars offered before building begins to learn as much as possible about any new developments in environmental codes. We will begin to use autocad software to gain a clear picture of the building and the surrounding area to help see possible sites where erosion might be a problem. The area in which the building will be located is subject to erosion from wind, rain, and water, which is the primary source of erosion in Alabama. Therefore, protection from water erosion caused by rains will be one of our primary concerns. The autocad software will tell us the area we need to protect in it entirely, and we will use a black silt fence for his purpose. Insurable Interest Essay What is Insurable Interest in a Maritime Insurance Policy The term insurable interest refers to the benefit (or interest) a person has in an insured object (or person as in a life insurance insurable interest). This benefit can refer to a financial benefit, among others. A person has insurable interest in a thing when he or she would experience some kind of loss (financial or otherwise) if the thing were to be damaged or lost. Say that you have piece of jewelry in your home that is also a family heirloom. If someone were to steal it (or if you were to drop it down the sink, or in the toilet, or even lose it in the garbage) you would suffer different kinds of loss, both financial and emotional. Thus, you have an insurable interest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no requirement of insurable interest when the contract is made. This section also allows the subject matter of a marine policy to be insured lost or not lost . This means that it is possible for the insured to recover under a marine policy even if he acquired his interest after the loss has occurred, unless he was aware of the loss and the insurer was not. These rules reflect the practices of marine trade where cargo frequently changes ownership in the course of transit. In this case there is a transfer of rights i.e assignment of interest. Assignment of Interest may be done by endorsement in blank that is to sign the policy. Alternatively, this can be also done by signing in favor of one other person. In turn, only that person can then claim to be the rightful owner. The law permits this unless the policy states otherwise. However, hull policies prohibit assignment even though the marine act promotes this transfer of rights. An interesting fact is that companies can have insurable interest in their workers, both in higher ups and in those lower down the ladder. In these instances, the companies collected the policies on their deceased employees, who sometimes did not even work for them anymore. Of course companies have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, I am only going to focus on Christianity as a whole, quoting teachings from the Bible (Old and New Testament), and then referring to the two major denominations of Anglican and Roman Catholic when their points on euthanasia are absolute. The Road Warrior (George Miller, 1981). I will be writing about the time that Max rescued a victim (Nathen) and returned him back to his tire people located deep within the deserts. The scene will continue all the way up to when the refinery people come to make a deal with the tire peoples. The movie is set in a time where a lack of resources is desperately needed. The viewer could notice that people in this apocalyptic environment need resources because of everyone desperately needing fuel. There is also a lot of scraps that are being used to build towns, clothes, weapons, and cars. The people of this apocalyptic world are trying to adapt to this environment using up any resource they can. Furthermore, I get a sense that the world might have gone bad due to rioting, nuclear warfare, or global warming because of the town being all the way in the dessert and the deprives of resources. Polk State College Abstract The Groupware fiasco begins with a struggling human sciences and humanities department at a university that has just experienced radical changes. The dean of the HSH division, Dr. Susan Pollard, enlists Dr. Eve Gordon to increase the efficiency of the division in her absence and decides the division s secretaries suffering from poor communication, gossip and animosity about unfair workloads will complete a Groupware project to improve the situation. If not in place yet, implementing strategic human resource planning, which consists of developing a systematic, comprehensive strategy for understanding current employee needs and predicting future needs, could also be helpful (Kinicki). Cons to this implementation may include employee resent of feeling as if they are being treated like a child, feeling stressed to come up with ideas, which could lead to satisficing choosing a goal that is good enough just so the group decision making can be over; not wanting to discuss their issues with other departments because they feel intimidated and groupthink; agreeing to avoid animosity instead of choosing the best option (Kinicki). The Groupware project was good in theory, but because the HSH division was not well suited for the experiment, it did not go as expected. The Groupware project was designed to resolve conflict and improve communication but required participation from all levels and competent leadership and facilitation things Pollards division lacked (Thompkins). On top of that, the facilitator for this project was a computer program designer lacking experience and knowledge in communication, which creates a problem as much of the effectiveness of a focus group session depends on the moderators ability to ask questions and keep the discussion on track ... However, the Covenant disappeared from history once the Babylonian conquest happened. God commanded Moses to build this Ark, while the Jews were at Mt. Sinai. The Ark was a box with the dimensions of two and a half cubits in length, by one and a half cubits in heights, by one and a half cubits in width. It was constructed of acacia wood, and was plated with pure gold, inside and out. On the bottom of the box, four gold rings were attached, through which two poles, also made of acacia and covered in gold. It is believed today that a monk, known as the Keeper of the Ark, now in Ethiopia, in St. Mary s Church, protects the Ark. There s many conspiracies about it, but none have been proven to be real or correct with the location or what happened with this special Ark. The Ark served as God with the people. It was used as a physical manifestation of God on Earth, so people could believe that he was present with them. There were huge penalties to the people who misused or mistreated the Ark, it was an important part of faith, not something to be used disrespectfully. Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile, the model T. His innovation reduced the time it took to build a car from more than a half a day to make a single car, to about 2 hours. He believed that there was certain principle in order to better his production, which was interchangeable parts, continuous flow, the division of labor, and reducing wasted effort.Using interchangeable parts meant making the individual pieces of the car the exact same as the next car, which helped make things faster due to the less confusion of which piece is which. Therefore, it was able to open the job market, by allowing low skilled workers to work besides special skilled workers which lead to improving the flow of the work. Due to the fact, the next step couldn t be complete without the previous step. • 40. House On Mango Street Book Assignment Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza Cordero and a year of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American girl, or Chicana, living in a congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of Chicago. The story begins with Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street which she describes as an upgrade from their previous house but it is still not the home her heart desires. Esperanza has big dreams of eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real house with a big yard and multiple washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television. Esperanza s journey into maturity and development is described through these interestingly written vignettes. She begins writing poetry as a way of expressing the events happening in her life such as developing friends, puberty and sprouting hips, and even dealing with sexual assault. The first half of the book begins with Esperanza wanting to continue to play in her little child bubble but is pushed into the world of adulthood when dealing with the deaths of her grandfather and Aunt Lupe and when she is abruptly kissed by an older man while at her first job. Esperanza also writes about her neighbors and happenings of the neighborhood to paint a picture of the different paths in life that are available to her. She switches her interest to the older women of the neighborhood who each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fame for the discovery of the structure of the double helix belonged to Watson and Crick, for they had debunked the mystery in 1953. Their finding denoted a milestone in the history of science. It also set the path for future biology studies. This study like all others, began with a solitary idea, a single experiment, which sparked future generations to follow the same path. This follows the fact that the scientific methodis not linear, it is circular. Utilizing this, the two researchers, Watson and Crick, began with a purpose, collected background research on the topic, and created a hypothesis which led them to results that may or may not have... At the time of my arrival, Francis theories spread far beyond the confines of protein crystallography. Anything important would attract him (9). A major factor in his leaving physics and developing an interest in biology has been the reading in 1946 of What is Life? by the noted theoretical physicist Erwin SchrИЌdinger (13). This demonstrates that while Crick did leave physics, he did it for a reason. After reading the novel, he was inspired to start a new science life. Instead of focusing on protein crystallography, the book s ideology moved Crick s attention to DNA. It was Wilkins who had first excited me about X ray work on DNA... But whenever a person has to lead a team consisting of intercultural people or even when a leader has to move to a different country, the cultural differences might become an obstacle for successful leadership. Different countries, nations have different history, values, religion. A successful leader has to understand such differences to be effective. Hofstede s Six Dimensions of Culture is an effective framework that helps to find and understand cultural differences of other parts of the world and to overcome the misunderstandings that might erupt unintentionally. At the end of 1970s Dutch psychologist Dr. Geert Hofstede created Four Dimensions of Culture. Based on data from more than 40 countries he and his research team identified dimensions that perceive cultures. Participatory democracy is a core concept of the public sphere. It is where people come to together to form a public opinion, and that it affects to political action. The only legitimate governments are governments that have its laws and policies shifted by the public opinion of the public sphere (Benhabib, 1992). Democratic governance rests on the capacity of and opportunity for citizens to engage in enlightened debate (Hauser, 1998, p.83). Impaired serotonin function has clearly demonstrated to be linked to clinical depression, because low levels of serotonin may negatively affect mechanisms involved in maintaining recovery from depression. However, there is evidence the serotonin pathways may not directly influence mood but may be important mechanisms in depression due to an indirect consequence of shifts in autonomic emotional responses, i.e., the impaired function may simply cause emotional responses to become unstable contributing to depression. Therefore, Prozac, which acts as an inhibitor of the mechanism that reduces serotonin, can help to reduce this emotional imbalance.
