Derrick Rose s Argumentative Essay
[CI] After taking the veteran Celtics to a 7 game series Rose had just begun being seen as a elite
player and most likely a all star in just his sophomore season. However as a sophomore, his much
expected preseason was halted with an ankle injury in the first preseason game. The windy city
assassin would not return in any preseason game. The season Opener saw the Assassin playing limited
minutes with only 13 points but managed to snag 7 assist and 7 rebounds. The ankle bothered him
most of November as Rose averaged 15.2 for the month of november, but as his ankle healed, Rose
bloomed. [CI] January 28, 2010, marked the day Derrick Rose was chosen for his first ever all star
game, Making him the first bulls player since MJ elected in a all star ... Show more content on

Rose went on a roll averaging 33.5 points per game in October, and averaging 27.1 in the month of

The Soldier For Life- Transition Assistance Program
Introduction
Anytime one is dealing with a transition in their life, there will always be the unknown. That s exactly
how I felt when retiring from the United States Army. After being with one career for 21 years of my
life, that s all I really knew. I faced many challenges when dealing with Life after the Military . The
military has provided a program that helped me deal with my transition from soldier to civilian life.
Getting out of the Military after a long period of time leads to so many uncertainties. Not knowing if
you will get a Job immediately afterwards or having the proper background for the job you really want
to do. These are all concerns that leads to anxiety. However, the Military has implemented a program
that will help Soldiers transition to the next stage in their life.
Counseling
The Soldier for Life Transition Assistance program (SFL TAP) helps you to get acclimated with the
process from going Soldier to Civilian. According to the Soldier for Life Transition Assistant Program
website it states that The SFL TAP process must be initiated early. Allowing Soldiers to start early
provides you and the Soldier the flexibility needed to prevent a conflict between mission requirements
and SFL TAP services. It also ensures compliance with timeliness standards and promotes the program
s effectiveness (SFL TAP Process, n.d.). This program has allowed many Soldiers overtime to make a
smoother transition when going into Civilian life. Moreover, this process

Fighting Back By Harold Werner
Fighting Back It is well known that six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and the images
of Jews being rounded up by the hundreds to be taken to concentration camps pervade what we know
about the Holocaust. One might assume then that there were few acts of resistance to this inevitable
fate. However, resistance took place within the ghettos throughout Europe as well as within the
concentration camps. In Poland, where anti Semitism was rampant, there were organized movements
of resistance which took place in the ghettos and in the forests outside of the cities. Thousands of Jews
came together in what were known as partisan groups to sabotage German military operations and
help other Jews to escape from the ghettos. Harold Werner was a member of one of these partisan
groups who wrote a memoir entitled Fighting Back: a Memoir of Jewish Resistance in WWII. He
decided to write this memoir in part as a response to his children s questions about why the Jews went
like sheep to the slaughter. It was important to Werner not just to answer his children s questioning but
to highlight for the world, both Jews and non Jews, the bravery displayed by the thousands of Jews
who fought for their own lives and for the lives of other Jews. Werner s memoir is important for this
generation and those that follow to help us understand that there were thousands of Jewish citizens
who fought against the cruelty of the Nazis. I had read books about the Holocaust such as Night

Pizza USA Term Paper
Pizza USA: An Exercise in Translating Customer Requirements into Process Design

xxxxxxxxxx University
Abstract
This case involves Pizza USA, a small independent chain restaurant operation that offers both dine in
and carry out services for customers that has received feedback for a potential change that will require
the implementation of design process to add services. Currently, customers have indicated that they
are pleased with the food offered by the restaurant but they would increase pizza purchases if a
delivery service was available. This dilemma ties into two separate issues. First, in order to remain
competitive within the industry, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would be critical in the business ability to survive in such a monopolistic type market. Successful
operation within a smaller independent chain restaurant faces challenges that may not be as apparent
to a larger and more established national chains.
Pizza USA is a small chain operation that currently provides two services: dine in and carry out
options. Customers have commented that if delivery services were added to the restaurant offerings,
they would potentially buy more pizzas (Jacobs Chase, 2011). Based on this information, it is apparent
that the owner needs to assess his business operations and consider a process design that would
include adding this service to current operations. The addition of delivery services would potentially
require additional capital to finance changes and may involve the hiring of additional staff. However,
revenue increases as a result of the added service would off set the costs associated with these
additions. Near and long term implications would include survivability within such a competitive
market.
As a customer, the primary focus of my satisfaction with this type of business relates primarily to

Fritz Zwicky Research Paper
Fritz Zwicky, a Swiss astronomer, was the first to suspect the existence of dark matter in 1933. He was
trying to measure the mass of a galactic cluster (a group of several galaxies) using two different
methods. He tried to infer this mass from the speed of the galaxies. Just like kids on a merry go round
have to hold on to avoid being ejected, galaxies are held together in a spinning galactic cluster by the
gravitational force provided by the matter it contains. If there were not enough matter to create this
force, the galaxies would simply scatter.
He then compared his result with the mass evaluated from the light the galaxies shed. He realised that
there was way more matter in the cluster than what was visible. This matter of an unknown type
generated a gravitational field without emitting light. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cosmic microwave background
Astrophysicists can even infer how much dark matter exists by studying the cosmic microwave
background. This is relic radiation dating back to when the Universe was barely 380,000 years old.
This fossil light has been travelling around for more than 13 billion years and now reaches us coming
from all and no direction in particular.
The map of the Universe below was drawn using data taken by the Planck satellite. It shows hotter
spots corresponding to where first dark matter then visible matter started forming lumps, providing the
seeds for galaxies. Nowadays, scientists believe dark matter acted as a catalyst in galaxy formation.

associated to each frequency, astrophysicists can calculate the quantity of dark matter contained in the

The Process of Conditioning

The Conditioning Process
It was raining when Sarah was driving home from work. Both she and the driver of the car in front of
her were speeding. The car in front of her had immediately braked. There was not enough distance
between that car and her own car to safely slow to a stop, so she had quickly switched lanes to avoid a
car accident. Instead, the slick pavement caused her car to swerve out of control. When her car finally
skidded to a stop, it was inches away from colliding into a tree. Two weeks later, Sarah noticed that
she had become anxious every time she had to drive in the rain. Believe it or not, Sarah s anxiety is
due to an associative learning process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three groups were to run through a complicated maze. Group A was rewarded food daily when
they were able to get to the end of the maze. Group B did not receive any food and group C was
rewarded food on their 11th trial. Group A showed a much improvement in a short course of time
(approximately seventeen days) due to the reinforcement. Group B and C, however, showed little
improvement over the course of 10 days. After the 11th trial, group C showed a drastic improvement
and even exceeded group A. Tolman determined that the rats in group C have been learning the maze
just as much as group A. The motivation of the reward seemed to increase group C s potential. He
termed this as latent learning, which is dormant knowledge that an organism has, but does not express
until it is needed. Later on in the study of psychology, cognitive factors were integrated into the study
of conditioning.
A major theme during the study of conditioning was nature vs. nature (Weiten, 2008). Behavioral traits
were thought to be explained through environmental factors, but the recent decades of evidence from
the study of classical and operant conditioning has proved that the process of conditioning is impaired
by biological constraints. Heritage and the environment once again challenge the theories of nurture
when influencing behaviors in organisms. Child care facilities, schools, factories, and major

Summary Of Surprise By Jane Kenyon
Psychoanalysis can be inscribed in many poems subliminally. Authors tend to use psychoanalysis to
solve the concern of a psychological issue or dysfunction problem that they have encountered. It is the
conscious awareness of not knowing what the problem is that gives it so much control of our
destructive behavior. As human beings, we often repress our deepest fears, emotions and experiences
that tend to unfurl in the future beyond our control. Until we can acknowledge and openly admit to
ourselves the cause of this, we will continue to disguise the problems unconsciously. It benefits our
mental state for a certain length of time, but we ultimately suffer from it in the end. In her poem,
Surprise, Jane Kenyon utilizes fear of betrayal, the double and being forced into a regressive state that
creates her fear to be intimate. In the poem, Surprise, Kenyon displays psychoanalysis by revealing
the fear of betrayal through the main characters feelings. The female speaker in the poem unfolds her
repressed feelings about her past experiences that now currently torments her mental state. She
explains the kind suggestions of a man, such as dining together for pancakes and taking a stroll
through a field of mayflowers. To her knowledge he offers her a morning of happiness, and an
opportunity to spend quality time with this man who could possibly become a significant lover. At this
point in the poem, she does not conclude more than a casual date with this man seeing that he only
offers that much to her. She is unaware of his intent to surprise her and this is what causes her fear of
being betrayed. Though this is normally an act of kindness, she receives it as a symbol of deception.
He leads her to believe that he wants to spend time with her, when in reality he is hiding his actual
intent. This subtle dishonesty reveals the repressed feelings she unconsciously has due to past
experiences and therefore twists this kind gesture into a feeling of betrayal. This feeling then provokes
her fear to be intimate with him, or in general. Kenyon establishes the state of the double through the
role of the male character. The male in this poem is presumed as a kind, pleasant fellow who wants to
please this woman and make her

From the beginning, Emilia can be seen as one who is entirely loyal and faithful to her husband, Iago.
Under the Cult of Domesticity it would be downright unacceptable for a woman to defy her husband.
Women were considered to be subservient to almost the entire male gender. Emilia s husband, Iago,
was a character who most would admit did not deserve much respect or loyalty at all. Iago would
continuously use his wit and intelligence to manipulate others only to further his own position in
society. Iago, with a great lack of sympathy for those he was hurting, focused solely on reaching his
end goal of self glorification. Despite Emilia s dissatisfaction with her marriage, she managed to
maintain composure in the beginning of the play. At one point in Act II, Iago makes a bold claim
stating that women, including Emilia, only speak their minds when the men are no longer present. He
believes they would not dare defy the rules of society in front of others. However, in privacy, Iago
surmises that these rules quickly vanish. Emilia then proceeds to respond to the accusation in none
other than a simple and respectful manner (Shakespeare 2.1.115 124). Shakespeare introduced Emilia
into his play as a stock character, one who represents a common stereotype. Whether or not it is

Power Of Education In The Great Gatsby
October 5, 2014
For centuries, the world has favored those who are in possession of a higher intelligence. Historically,
ruling classes were composed of educated nobles or trained workers, the few who had been able to
receive an education. Education in developed countries is often included in the basic rights to which
every human should have access. Its importance has been the focal point of countless movements, all
petitioning for the opportunity of schooling for lower class citizens. The United States of America,
though it has experienced significant changes in regards to the literacy of all citizens, did not do so
without difficulty. The two most notable groups to fight for the right to equal education had to struggle
for years to obtain their goals. African Americans had little to no rights until the Emancipation
Proclamation in 1865, and even then, only males were allowed to read and write. Women did not
begin attending college in equal numbers to men until as recently as 1980. The strong correlation
between power and education makes possessing a sound education a valuable asset and highly sought
after. Education s role in society is a prevalent theme throughout Scott F. Fitzgerald s The Great
Gatsby. Tom s supremacy through education and wealth contrasts heavily with Gatsby s lack of
knowledge, creating tension within the novel between the two opposing men.
Tom Buchanan flaunts the power he holds over Daisy and Myrtle. Not only does he acquire economic
power, but

purchase health insurance in the United States for the first time and for those that already had
insurance he promised to them that they would be able to keep the insurance they already had and it
would not increase because of Obama Care. After the passing of Obama Care the only truth was that
Americans could purchase health care but other than that the rest were lies. People that already had

( Maria ) Obama Care is still a step in the right direction, though because it now allows anyone to
obtain health coverage that wants it. Lastly, another downside to Obama Care is that the people that
did not have health coverage before are now forced to get it or will get fined on their taxes at the end
of the year. Many Americans do not even have the money to buy it so how will they pay the fine? It is
highly unlikely the U.S government will never see that money any time soon. The republican party to
this day are still trying to repeal certain parts of Obama Care because it does not work. The
legislatures of the United States should take a hard look at how Canada operates with their health care
laws. In Canada their legislators passed a better law allowing all citizens to have the same health care.
Sure there are longer lines, but at the end of the day everyone is on the same team. The U.S on the
other hand has not played as a team but still as an individual. Why make others pay higher prices for
doing the right thing all their life? The U.S legislators should pass a law like Canada and make
everyone pay equally or do not pass anything because it s not fair game. Health care is valued by
many citizens in the United States and in Canada. Both countries have their own health care systems
to provide coverage for citizens. Canada has basic health care coverage for all citizens through federal

How Does Power Control In Macbeth

weaknesses are shown in the story. It proves a case where most humans can find relatable and tell of a

at the Oasis city of Sijilmasa, on the northern edge of the Sahara in the foothills of the Atlas
Mountains. Battuta stayed in the Sijilmasa for a few months, waiting for the rainy season to end.
When the Oasis s were full, the traders set out. They traveled from Oasis to Oasis. Walking across the
desert was dangerous, one time during the trip the traders could not find water so they slaughtered
there camels and drank there water. The caravan stopped at Taghaza, a village where salt mines were
located. They took on a load of salt. There entire journey took about 2 months (Frey, History Alive).
The traders used to just trade between settlements when trade was hard. After a while the traders
gained new methods of travel and this helped them carry more supplies across the Sahara. The first
traders traded Yams, Mahogany and Grains. The new ones traded Silk, Paper, Dishes, Spices, Gems
and Coconuts.

The Conversions Of Augustine s Confessions
c Throughout Confessions, Augustine undergoes several conversions that lead to his final conversion.
Beginning when he was only a small child, Augustine experience his first conversion. Raised by a
Catholic mother and Pagan father, Augustine becomes attracted to searching for answers about God.
This conversion, which is a conversion of truth, continues to influence him throughout his second
conversion which takes place throughout his young adulthood. During this conversion, Augustine first
commits to the Christian beliefs intellectually and then shortly after, physically. Inevitably, the
answers and struggles that he experiences during his conversion of truth leads to his acceptance of the
Christian faith. After accepting this faith, Augustine undergoes a third conversion. This conversion is a
conversion of becoming a model of Christ. Augustine s book Confessions shows these conversions
and how they lead to his final conversion. Throughout Augustine s life, he experiences multiple
conversions with the earliest beginning when he was only a school aged boy. This conversion carries
over into his early adulthood and is a conversion of truth. During this time, Augustine becomes
attracted to the Christian beliefs and develops a curiosity for understanding who God is. Since
Augustine was born to a catholic mother, during his childhood he observed men praying and learnt to
do likewise. (Augustine, 11). Augustine practices this observance of prayer in his childhood and prays

Quality Issues in Project Management
QUALITY ISSUES IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Introduction
There are a number of issues surrounding the general area of quality in project management. You will
need to be aware of some of the requirements of PRINCE (or PRINCE2) as well as the more general
aspects of the ISO 9000 and 14000 series.
2. Quality requirements as part of PRINCE
PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments) was revised from PRINCE in 1996 and is the
accepted standard for the control of projects in the computing area of the public sector. It is also
widely used outside this sector as a way of formalising project control procedures.
It lays down 8 key processes concerning (content generally obvious):
1. Directing of the project.
2. Planning of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We should also be aware of the ISO 14000 which covers legislative requirements with respect to
environmental impacts. This is relevant, in parts, to projects and their impacts.
4. The Prince2 Quality Plan/Manual:
The quality plan needs to cover in detail several key aspects of project control:
How quality criteria will be set?
What measures are to be taken to prevent the occurrence of faults or variances?
What will be done to detect and correct any faults/variances that do occur?
What tests/procedures will be used to demonstrate that quality criteria are being met?
What review and follow up procedures will be used?
Who will perform the quality control work?
What documentation will be produced by the process?
5. The Prince2 Quality Review and Log:
This might be the most important part of quality control in your PRINCE2 project. The aim is to find
any errors, deviations from standards or omissions in the task or stage once it is claimed to be finished
or at any other agreed point.
It is a face to face meeting (of no more than two hours) which should allow early error or variance
trapping. It consists of preparation, review and follow up procedures.
A quality log is kept of all invitations, attendees, results, corrective actions and sign offs. This log can
then be inspected as an audit trail by the user/stakeholder/client or by any independent quality
assurance agency in event of any disputes.

Ascetic Hermits
Every single person in the world, regardless of their race, religion or gender, is different. Therefore,
there is more than one way to reach God, enlightenment, or whatever each respected person chooses
to believe in. In Christianity, there are two main paths taken to reach the divine; the communal path
embracing obedience and the individual route which focuses on asceticism. The Sayings of the Desert
Fathers and The Rule of St. Benedict in English reveal what each road to the divine entails while
explaining how the ascetic hermits and monks live for the mutual goal of reaching unity with God.
When taking the communal path to reach salvation, some people decide to become obedient monks
and live in monasteries. Once in a monastery, monks are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These followers can be referred to as ascetic hermits since they heavily rely on self discipline rather
than obedience. Hermits are constantly in journey, they don t have a permanent residency since they
withdraw themselves from society and all other formal ways of living. In order to be an ascetic hermit,
one must live off the food of the land, since they are living in complete isolation other than when they
pass by monasteries and stay for a few days. Therefore, hermits must have discernment and be able to
discipline themselves to stay on course with what God s scriptures tell them to do. If they fall off
course, they pray and confess their sins to God. Abba Anthony in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers
said that the great work of hermits was to always take the blame for his own sins before God and to
expect temptation to his last breath (Ward 2). Everyone will always have temptations, it s what makes
them human. However, it is one s own choice in whether to act on them or not. Ascetic hermits on the
individual path to the divine also practice hesychasm, which is constant prayer and silence. Bessarion,
a Desert Father, told a story when [he] came to [a prisoner s] cell [he] found [the prisoner] standing at
prayer with his hands raised towards heaven. For fourteen days he remained thus (Ward 41). This is

Trump Immigration Policy
Under the new immigration enforcement policies of the Trump administration millions of people
living in the United States illegally could soon be targeted for deportation. Any immigrant who is in
the country illegally and is charged or convicted of any offense, or even suspected of a crime, will
now be an enforcement priority, according to Homeland Security Department memos signed by
Secretary John Kelly. Under the Obama administration, immigrants whose only violation was being in
the country illegally were generally left alone.
Donald Trump s deportation policy focuses on anyone who has been charged with a criminal offense,
even if it has not led to a conviction. He also includes anyone who has committed acts that constitute a
chargeable criminal offense, (Medina, J). Which means anyone the authorities believe has broken any

To get this done, he mainly plants to build the wall he has promised, as I mentioned. Trump initially
demanded for Mexico to pay for the building of the wall and Kelly s memos reiterate calls for
Homeland Security to start planning for the costs and construction (Baker, A). Also, during Trump s
earlier immigration orders, he banned all refugees as well as foreigners from seven Muslim majority
countries, which he has had extensive criticism and legal action.
While I do see immigrants coming to the United States illegally as an issue, the focus on which
immigrants or priority deportees is not efficient. It seems that most presidential administrations,
especially Donald Trumps have chosen to focus on immigrants with non threatening charges. I think
instead the focus should at least be on the illegal immigrants who are a threat to citizens like those in

Secondary Endosymbiosis
Primary vs. Secondary Endosymbiosis
Primary Endosymbiosis:
Essential Endosymbiosis is the initial phase in the process that in the long run prompted the
development of mitochondria and chloroplasts as we probably am aware them today. Essential
Endosymbiosis initially happened when a substantial anaerobic cell overwhelmed a littler oxygen
consuming microscopic organisms. This high impact microbes could utilize the developing measure of
oxygen in the air to maintain itself and produce vitality. The bigger anaerobe is then ready to use the
natural items that the vigorous microorganisms delivered utilizing this oxygen.
Maybe the most vital distinction in the middle of essential and optional Endosymbiosis is that on

Next, the authors write about how food has been modified throughout the years. They use the example
of cultivated rice, wheat, corn, soy, potatoes, and tomatoes have very little in common with their
ancestors. They use this example to go on to reveal that genetically modifying foods is nothing more
than hybridization, or the mating of different plants of the same species to integrate the desired traits
from several different varieties into a leading variety. The authors use the example of the tomato and
how it is commonly bred with wild tomatoes to make the plant more resistant to pathogens,
nematodes, and fungi while eradicating any unwanted traits from the wild plant such as toxins. This
example, as a whole is a brilliant use of ethos. It displays that genetically modified foods are healthy

years that has never been thought of as dangerous. More importantly, this comparison shows that the

The Components of Mishel’s Uncertainty of Illness Theory...
BACKGROUND
Mishel s Uncertainty of Illness Theory is a middle range theory (Black, 2014). This means the theory
is not overly broad or narrow. The theory was developed from studying men with prostate cancer who
were watchfully waiting for the advancing signs of their disease (Black, 2014). The theory has three
main components, which incorporate: the antecedents of uncertainty, impaired cognitive appraisal, and
coping with uncertainty in illness (Neville, 2003). The antecedents of Mishel s theory are the stimulus
frame, cognitive capacities and event congruence (Neville, 2003). The stimulus frame concerns three
parts including: symptom pattern, event familiarity and event congruency (Neville, 2003). Symptom
pattern may be when symptoms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This study is based on uncertainty management intervention (UMI) treatment option. The candidates
for the study were men who are 65 and older with a low stage and grade prostate disease. The UMI
study used a system of nursing telephone follow up care to help patients with their psychosocial and
educational disease needs (Kazer, Whittemore, Baily, 2010). The nursing intervention with the patients
focused on helping the patients examine illness related events and restructure their beliefs... to
incorporate uncertainty into a new life view. (Kazer, Whittemore Baily, 2010) The nursing
intervention s goal was to create a cognitive plan from events that are uncertain and use the plan to
change their view of the uncontrollable situation presented to them.
Miho Suzuki s study aimed to explore the relationships between uncertainty and the quality of life in
patients with head and neck cancer in pre and post treatment periods. Suzuki intended to discover
whether patients with head and neck cancer experience less uncertainty when they think they are able
to express their concerns to their doctor. Also, Suzuki wanted to assess if the patients experienced less
uncertainty when involved with treatment decision making and sufficient information about
symptoms. Suzuki used a prospective correlational

Recent Advances in the Study of Protein Misfolding Diseases
Protein misfolding diseases include highly debilitating degenerative disorders like Alzheimer s and
Parkinson s diseases. The healthcare and financial burden linked to these pathologies has been steadily
increasing over the past decade. Actually, there is currently no efficient treatment for misfolding
diseases as well as no reliable early diagnostic techniques for them, in most cases. It is known that, in
many cases, the cytotoxic effect of misfolded proteins is exerted through their self assembly into
amyloid like protein aggregates. Unfortunately, the mechanisms responsible for the toxicity of protein
aggregates are still not completely understood. The number of protein targets whose misfolding and
aggregation is being shown to be associated with the onset of pathologic conditions is constantly
increasing. Since the development of degenerative disorders is expected to increase at a similar rate
than life expectancy, it is likely that in the years to come misfolding diseases would become more
common and prevalent than previously thought. We should be prepared to deal with such a dramatic
scenario and join research efforts to understand the molecular mechanism that underlie these
devastating disorders without further delay. In this book, we highlight recent advances in the study of
protein misfolding disorders and their protein targets, but we also describe how different organisms
exploit the amyloid fold for the functional and dynamic assembly of biological structures.

Tea Drinking In The 1800s
Tea was declared the National Drink of England in 1784. The eighteenth century saw the
transformation of tea as an everyday necessity for the poor and working class of the British society. To
meet the domestic demand at home, the British East India Company imported great volumes of tea
from China. The tea import increased from an estimated 64 tons in 1711 to 6800 tons in 1791. Even
heavy import tax could not deter an increasingly expanding domestic market for the Chinese tea. As
tea drinking had become obsession with the British society, consumption of tea replaced home brewed
beer, gin, milk and traditional infusions of indigenous plants. This great transformation in the
consumption pattern of British society led to the commodification of

Partnership Is An Arrangement Or A Form Of Business...
Partnership is an arrangement or a form of business organization in which two or more parties come
together to achieve specified economic objective. Each such party to the organization is known as
partner . The relationship between / among partners is governed by the partnership agreement. Some
of the common clauses relating to partnership are capital, profit/loss sharing ratio, tenor, object,
inclusion of new partner, retirement / exclusion of existing partner, dissolution of partnership etc.
Partnership is a separate entity, which has its own existence from its partners.
Partnership is not a taxable entity. A partnership is a form of business that works as a medium through
which its profits, losses, deductions, and credits pass directly to its partners. In turn, each partner
reports individually his /her share of the partnership s profits, loss, deductions etc. in his/her individual
tax return. This may result in increase or decrease in personal tax liability of a partner. Hence, for tax
reporting and payment purpose, a partnership is treated as an aggregate of individuals, who provide
capital and services to a joint business organization, rather than as a separate taxable entity.
Partnership Contribution:
Each partner brings in money (cash) / property or some intangible rights to contribute in the
partnership, in lieu of interest in the partnership. At the time of contribution, the partners need to
compute the tax basis of contribution for him and/or for partnership.

UK Building Regulations:
The first building control legislation in England dates back to the Great Fire of London in 1666. The
reasons why it spread out so quickly were the proximity of the timber buildings. The government of
the day realised this and introduced by laws to try to prevent it from happening again. So in 1667 they
introduced the London Building Act. However it was not until 1774 that the District Surveyors in

elephants in hunting them and slaughtering them for their tusks, to in turn trade for the necessities of
life such as food, water, and shelter. Both of these show man s will to live and survive, be it in battle

Society as people see it is a mirror reflecting will, Everything in the phenomenal world is merely the
manifestation of this perverse will, or, as he [Schopenhauer] called it, an objectification of the will

Man has made laws and morals as the foundations for rationality to protect the people from their will

include sex and violence, but are not limited to these.

The International Trade Agreement With Costa Rica,...
Introduction On August 2004, the United States signed the Central America Free Trade Agreement

is the first free trade agreement of its kind given that it is between the United States and smaller
developing countries. The agreement encourages economic cooperation among these nations resulting
in a stronger regional integration and contributing to greater stability. Beginning with a brief overview
about the history of CAFTA, in this paper I will discuss the main issues being debated on CAFTA and

as the benefits to the Central American countries involved in the agreement. CAFTA Historically, the
United States has established free trade agreements with each of the countries in the agreement. These
agreements, as well as CAFTA, are currently active. The US government policy had originally granted
these countries relative open access to US markets, as well as protection of their own markets with the
use of tariffs and other trade barriers. These were implemented specifically to restrict US access to
their markets. Then, CAFTA changed the trend by eliminating tariffs, opening markets, reducing
barriers to goods and services, and promoting transparency through regulatory practices, while
supporting environmental protections (7). Moreover, it promotes investment between these

The Speech to the Continental Congress of 1744 is a discourse made by Joseph Galloway during the

B2B vs.B2C Marketing Differences
B2B vs. B2C Marketing
Marketing differs between business to business and business to consumer in a few different ways the
main one is the emotional experience of the buyer. The marketing programs are the same, which
includes: events, direct marketing, internet marketing, advertising, public relations, word of mouth and
alliance. The difference is how each marketing program is executed, what is said in the program, and
the outcome.
Business to Business or B2B marketing and Business to Consumer or B2C marketing follow different
rules but the outcome is still to sell the product or service to who needs or wants the item. Below is a
listing of how the marketing needs to think to market to the target group they are after.

Sabre has the Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Air Solutions both business sites, and then there is
Travelocity a consumer site. At saber.com there is very little on the website, a paragraph describing
work done by the company, stats about the company, a link to corporate and then three links to the
three websites that sell the products. At Travelocity the consumer site sells travel, airline tickets, hotel
rooms, rental cars, cruises, and special packages. The website is loaded with graphics, and links within
the site. The work is done by the consumer and transactions are quick (point, click, decision, credit
card, email confirming). On the Sabre Travel Network a B2B site, businesses using the site are
suppliers, corporations, government and travel agencies. The website has a table of contents link,
promotions currently in use, and a career link. For Sabre Airline Solutions there are comprehensive
solutions to optimize operations and reduce costs for airlines, airports, and government agencies. The
web page is almost the same as the Travel Network website. The business websites for Sabre are very
plain with little graphics. Marketing to either business or consumer is a challenge by following what
needs to be accomplished will depend on how you market the product or service. Graphics, table of
contents, company information and links are all determined by who the buyer is. Promotions, duration

Bigfoot Evolution
Bigfoot is a species of North American ape.
How it s possible: When the earth had one supercontinent, a species of ape from Asia migrated to
North America using a land bridge connecting Russia and Alaska. Over time, the continents spread
apart which prevented the two populations from interacting. The smaller gene pool of the North
American paired with the new environment led to the new population favoring different alleles. As a
result the population of North American apes grew larger and began to favor walking on their back
legs.
How it could be proven: Use DNA testing to evaluate the similarities between modern and/or extinct
species of apes from Asia and Bigfoots.
Unit connections: Evolution (founder effect, speciation), Ecology (organization ... Show more content

The descriptions of these two species tend to be very similar; they re tall, hairy, human like beasts that
walk on their hind legs. Is it possible that these are two species were once one? And are they still
capable of reproducing with one another? Scientists have found that grizzly bears and polar bears,
when put together, produce viable and fertile offspring. This technically makes the two bears one
species. Logistically, however, the two are not considered of the same species because they live so far
apart that in nature it is very rare that the two would breed, although it has happened before.
Therefore, there is a prezygotic barrier rather than a postzygotic barrier. The same may be for Bigfoots

  • 4. Fighting Back By Harold Werner Fighting Back It is well known that six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and the images of Jews being rounded up by the hundreds to be taken to concentration camps pervade what we know about the Holocaust. One might assume then that there were few acts of resistance to this inevitable fate. However, resistance took place within the ghettos throughout Europe as well as within the concentration camps. In Poland, where anti Semitism was rampant, there were organized movements of resistance which took place in the ghettos and in the forests outside of the cities. Thousands of Jews came together in what were known as partisan groups to sabotage German military operations and help other Jews to escape from the ghettos. Harold Werner was a member of one of these partisan groups who wrote a memoir entitled Fighting Back: a Memoir of Jewish Resistance in WWII. He decided to write this memoir in part as a response to his children s questions about why the Jews went like sheep to the slaughter. It was important to Werner not just to answer his children s questioning but to highlight for the world, both Jews and non Jews, the bravery displayed by the thousands of Jews who fought for their own lives and for the lives of other Jews. Werner s memoir is important for this generation and those that follow to help us understand that there were thousands of Jewish citizens who fought against the cruelty of the Nazis. Customers have commented that if delivery services were added to the restaurant offerings, they would potentially buy more pizzas (Jacobs Chase, 2011). Based on this information, it is apparent that the owner needs to assess his business operations and consider a process design that would include adding this service to current operations. The addition of delivery services would potentially require additional capital to finance changes and may involve the hiring of additional staff. He was trying to measure the mass of a galactic cluster (a group of several galaxies) using two different methods. He tried to infer this mass from the speed of the galaxies. Just like kids on a merry go round have to hold on to avoid being ejected, galaxies are held together in a spinning galactic cluster by the gravitational force provided by the matter it contains. If there were not enough matter to create this force, the galaxies would simply scatter. He then compared his result with the mass evaluated from the light the galaxies shed. He realised that there was way more matter in the cluster than what was visible. This matter of an unknown type generated a gravitational field without emitting light. ... Both she and the driver of the car in front of her were speeding. The car in front of her had immediately braked. There was not enough distance between that car and her own car to safely slow to a stop, so she had quickly switched lanes to avoid a car accident. Instead, the slick pavement caused her car to swerve out of control. When her car finally skidded to a stop, it was inches away from colliding into a tree. Later on in the study of psychology, cognitive factors were integrated into the study of conditioning. A major theme during the study of conditioning was nature vs. nature (Weiten, 2008). Behavioral traits were thought to be explained through environmental factors, but the recent decades of evidence from the study of classical and operant conditioning has proved that the process of conditioning is impaired by biological constraints. • 10. Summary Of Surprise By Jane Kenyon Psychoanalysis can be inscribed in many poems subliminally. Authors tend to use psychoanalysis to solve the concern of a psychological issue or dysfunction problem that they have encountered. It is the conscious awareness of not knowing what the problem is that gives it so much control of our destructive behavior. As human beings, we often repress our deepest fears, emotions and experiences that tend to unfurl in the future beyond our control. Until we can acknowledge and openly admit to ourselves the cause of this, we will continue to disguise the problems unconsciously. It benefits our mental state for a certain length of time, but we ultimately suffer from it in the end. In her poem, Surprise, Jane Kenyon utilizes fear of betrayal, the double and being forced into a regressive state that creates her fear to be intimate. In the poem, Surprise, Kenyon displays psychoanalysis by revealing the fear of betrayal through the main characters feelings. The female speaker in the poem unfolds her repressed feelings about her past experiences that now currently torments her mental state. She explains the kind suggestions of a man, such as dining together for pancakes and taking a stroll through a field of mayflowers. To her knowledge he offers her a morning of happiness, and an opportunity to spend quality time with this man who could possibly become a significant lover. At this point in the poem, she does not conclude more than a casual date with this man seeing that he only offers that much to her. She is unaware of his intent to surprise her and this is what causes her fear of being betrayed. Though this is normally an act of kindness, she receives it as a symbol of deception. He leads her to believe that he wants to spend time with her, when in reality he is hiding his actual intent. This subtle dishonesty reveals the repressed feelings she unconsciously has due to past experiences and therefore twists this kind gesture into a feeling of betrayal. This feeling then provokes her fear to be intimate with him, or in general. Kenyon establishes the state of the double through the role of the male character. The male in this poem is presumed as a kind, pleasant fellow who wants to please this woman and make her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Iago, with a great lack of sympathy for those he was hurting, focused solely on reaching his end goal of self glorification. Despite Emilia s dissatisfaction with her marriage, she managed to maintain composure in the beginning of the play. Historically, ruling classes were composed of educated nobles or trained workers, the few who had been able to receive an education. Education in developed countries is often included in the basic rights to which every human should have access. Its importance has been the focal point of countless movements, all petitioning for the opportunity of schooling for lower class citizens. The United States of America, though it has experienced significant changes in regards to the literacy of all citizens, did not do so without difficulty. The two most notable groups to fight for the right to equal education had to struggle for years to obtain their goals. African Americans had little to no rights until the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865, and even then, only males were allowed to read and write. Women did not begin attending college in equal numbers to men until as recently as 1980. The strong correlation between power and education makes possessing a sound education a valuable asset and highly sought after. Education s role in society is a prevalent theme throughout Scott F. The Sayings of the Desert Fathers and The Rule of St. Benedict in English reveal what each road to the divine entails while explaining how the ascetic hermits and monks live for the mutual goal of reaching unity with God. These followers can be referred to as ascetic hermits since they heavily rely on self discipline rather than obedience. Hermits are constantly in journey, they don t have a permanent residency since they withdraw themselves from society and all other formal ways of living. In order to be an ascetic hermit, one must live off the food of the land, since they are living in complete isolation other than when they pass by monasteries and stay for a few days. Therefore, hermits must have discernment and be able to discipline themselves to stay on course with what God s scriptures tell them to do. If they fall off course, they pray and confess their sins to God. Abba Anthony in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers said that the great work of hermits was to always take the blame for his own sins before God and to expect temptation to his last breath (Ward 2). Everyone will always have temptations, it s what makes them human. However, it is one s own choice in whether to act on them or not. Ascetic hermits on the individual path to the divine also practice hesychasm, which is constant prayer and silence. Bessarion, a Desert Father, told a story when [he] came to [a prisoner s] cell [he] found [the prisoner] standing at prayer with his hands raised towards heaven. • 33. Recent Advances in the Study of Protein Misfolding Diseases Protein misfolding diseases include highly debilitating degenerative disorders like Alzheimer s and Parkinson s diseases. The healthcare and financial burden linked to these pathologies has been steadily increasing over the past decade. Actually, there is currently no efficient treatment for misfolding diseases as well as no reliable early diagnostic techniques for them, in most cases. It is known that, in many cases, the cytotoxic effect of misfolded proteins is exerted through their self assembly into amyloid like protein aggregates. Unfortunately, the mechanisms responsible for the toxicity of protein aggregates are still not completely understood. The number of protein targets whose misfolding and aggregation is being shown to be associated with the onset of pathologic conditions is constantly increasing. Since the development of degenerative disorders is expected to increase at a similar rate than life expectancy, it is likely that in the years to come misfolding diseases would become more common and prevalent than previously thought. We should be prepared to deal with such a dramatic scenario and join research efforts to understand the molecular mechanism that underlie these devastating disorders without further delay. CAFTA Historically, the United States has established free trade agreements with each of the countries in the agreement. These agreements, as well as CAFTA, are currently active. The US government policy had originally granted these countries relative open access to US markets, as well as protection of their own markets with the use of tariffs and other trade barriers.
