Mahmoud Abbad Research Paper
Mahmoud Abbas was born on March 26, 1935, at Safed, Israel. In Moscow, Mahmoud Abbas received
a PhD about Nazism and Zionism, but others called that Holocaust denial. He is a Sunni Muslim.
Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, is the Palestinian Authority President. He was the
Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which is a terrorist group. His presidency
began on January 15, 2005, and he was the unofficial president since November 23, 2008. He assumed
the Palestinian Liberation Organization presidency after Yasser Arafat s death in November 2004. He

Beilin Abu Mazen Agreement with Yossi Beilin. When he was only 13 years old, Abbas was a refugee
who fled to Syria. He believes in the Two State Solution to the Arab Israeli conflict. He wants no
discrimination of religions, such as Judaism and Islam. Abu Mazen accepted the Roadmap for peace in
2003 for the Arab Israeli conflict. He controls the West Bank. The many ceasefires between the
Palestinians and the Israelis were only temporary or not followed at all. The Gaza Israel conflict

Eastern Jerusalem to be the capital of Palestine. He also believes in the right of return. However, Israel
has control of Jerusalem. The Israeli walls, which represent the border between Israel and Palestine,
are in some areas of Palestine. Palestine and Israel have sanctions against each other due to the Arab
Israeli conflict. The United States and the European Union have sanctions against Hamas. Abbas does

What Is The Theme Of Psychology In Lord Of The Flies
In the movie Lord of the Flies, a group of boys become stranded on an island and have to survive until
someone comes to rescue them. Though they may seem like innocent school boys at first, many of
them soon regress into a barbaric way of life becoming hunters . With the island split in two, the
themes of personality theory, aggression, and adolescence become more prevalent. Focusing on Ralph,
Piggy, Jack and Simon, we can further delve into these topics.
In class, we studied Sigmund Freud s personality theory; the Id, ego, and superego combine to create
the behavior of humans. The Id is an unconscious part of our personalities that work to satisfy our
basic urges, needs and desires. In the movie, Jack, the leader of the hunters , is a perfect representation
of the Id. He is obsessed with hunting and killing, which are instinctual and primal. He and his group
accidentally kill Simon thinking he is a monster. Even though it was an accident, Jack shows no
remorse. Later on, his group purposely killed Piggy and again, he shows no remorse. He reasons that
everything he is doing is in order for him and his group to survive and is necessary. Instead of
cheering up the younger boys, he says You better start learning to live with yourself, because we ain t
gonna get rescued (Lord of the Flies). He sets in everyone s, except Ralph and Piggy s, minds that
they have to be in survival mode. Throughout the whole production, Jack was the human
representation of the minds Id.

Bidleville Case Study
Biddleville like many ring villages , was a community that shared a distinct southern uniqueness in
that it was one of a dozen villages or communities that were established on the edge or outer ring of
the city.
Founded after the Civil War around the college, the community was established with assistance and
major influence in the 1890 s by the Myers family. A prominent white family, who touted the
community as a Model Negro housing development .
The early make up of this village derived from post war clusters of slaves and free blacks who did not
live on their master s property.
W. R. Myers, a very prominent land owner and businessman donated land for the nucleus of what now
is Johnson C. Smith University, and aided in establishing and building Good ... Show more content on

the turn of the century. This association gave credibility and prominence to members in the Biddleville
community that were educated and or held employment that was deemed respectable and or admirable

The community prospered and as the city grew and incorporated the Biddleville area, large
developments of white communities, such as Roslyn and Smallwood was built in close proximity. This
expansion also brought transportation resources such as the trolley line.
The culture that had been established helped those that were educated, or aligned with thinking of the
model negro doctrine were not necessarily benefactors of the positive growth.
As Urban renewal ramped up in the 1960 s sections of the inner city were torn down, which in turn
caused a shift of the black population. The communities in and around Biddleville that were
previously white working class were now over taken by Charlotte s black population.
As the white community moved out, so did resources that were previously available. The

Calculus Used In The Pantheon
An oculus denotes a circular opening in the center of a dome or in a wall, the oculus was used by the
Romans, one of the finest examples being that in the dome of the Pantheon. Open to the weather. It
allows rain to enter and fall to the floor. Where it is carried away through drains. Though the opening
looks small, it actually has a diameter of 27 ft; allowing it to light the building just as the sun lights the
earth. The rain also keeps the building cool during the hot summer months. Oculi have been used over
the centuries in architectural landmarks across Europe and the Middle East. There were oculi used in
the architecture of the Byzantine Empire and oculi were applied to buildings in Syria in the 5th and
6th centuries; and again in the

Alopecia Fever Research Paper
Alopecia is a common autoimmune disease. It results in the loss of hair on the scalp and elsewhere. It
usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth patches. It occurs in males and females of all
ages and races, but it most often occurs in childhood.
Approximately 6.8 million people in the United States, and 147 million worldwide have or will
develop alopecia areata at some point in their lives. In alopecia areata, the affected hair follicles are
mistakenly attacked in groups by a person s own immune system, resulting in the arrest of the hair
growth stage. These affected follicles become very small, drastically slow down production, and
grown no hair visible above the surface for months or years. The scalp is the most commonly affected

Alopecia Areata can affect any hair breeding and can also involve nails. The course of the disease is
unpredictable and the response treatment is variable. The various treatment modalities used can be
classified into topical and systemic therapies. The topical therapy includes intralesional corticosteroid,

Although there isn t a perfect cure for alopecia areata, Many of the available treatments are very costly

Herram Delvile
The relationship between Cecilia and Mortimer Delvile is one of the most frustrating parts of the
novel. Delvile is an indecisive, self centered man who does not think about the effects that his actions
might have on another person. He is not malicious, but he is inconsiderate and he introduces great pain
into Cecilia s life. He initially confesses to her that he loves her, then ignores her just long enough that
she is able to move on from him, then comes back into her life under the pretense of friendship, and
then he leaves again. His flippant disregard for her feelings takes a toll on Cecilia as she tries to
pinpoint what kind of relationship they actually have. Delvile finally decides that he does indeed love
her and want to be with her, so he travels to find her and suggests what he believes to be an excellent
compromise for the both of them: a secret wedding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The line The joy with which he heard it...was as violent as the eagerness with which he had sought it
is especially poignant; while Delvile may love Cecilia, he is totally ignorant of how a secret wedding
will take a toll on her personal morality. The scene comments on how men often innately brush aside
female concerns because they are affected by them, nor do they want to take the time to understand
where women are coming from. Not to mention, the secret wedding is only on the table in the first
place because Delvile cannot bring himself to take Cecilia s surname as his own, therefore taking on a

Duality In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
There are two sides to every person, and that is expressed largely in the book, The Strange Case of Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson. Duality is also expressed in the play, Romeo and
Juliet, by William Shakespeare. The book Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde talks about how man has two
natures, a good nature and an evil nature. The statement, I stood already committed to a profound
duplicity of life (Stevenson, 123) expresses this. Henry Jekyll was a good man; he helped people. H
had great friends, was very intelligent and a respected doctor in London. Henry also had another side
to himself, and he named that side Hyde. Hyde was an evil looking man. People said he had a hint of
deformity but no one could say what was deformed about him. He was not a respected man; he was
hated by people that he met. He engaged in all manner of evil acts. He did terrible things that
Victorian society frowned upon. Yes, I preferred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Friar Lawrence compares man to plant. The Friar expressed the duality found in nature when he says,
In man as well as herbs, grace and rude will; (II,III, 28 Shakespeare). Friar Lawrence also talks to
Juliet about how one small pretty flower holds the power to kill or heal: Within the infant rind of this
small flower poison hath residence and medicine in man as well as herbs, grace and rude will... (II, II,
23 31 Shakespeare). There is evil in beauty and beauty in evil. This is comparable to where Jekyll and
Hyde live. Hyde lives in a pretty neighborhood with a nice courtyard and shops, but when one see
Hyde s house it is the complete opposite of the neighborhood; it is old and decrepit; the paint is
peeling and the door has no knob. This is an example of evil or ugliness in beauty. Jekyll lives in this
older part of the city. The buildings are run down, but when you see Henry Jekyll s house, it is
beautiful. This is an example of beauty living alongside

Beowulf Vs Dante The Pilgrim
What is a hero? Maya Angelou believed that a hero is any person really intent on making this a better
place for all people. When the word hero comes to my mind, I see someone who is noble in character
and is respected for his or her brave actions. A Christian hero is someone who displays qualities of a
regular hero but has qualities that are similar to characteristics of Jesus Christ. Jesus was a man who
was humble, courageous, and a man who helped others. Beowulf is a better example of a Christian
hero than Dante the Pilgrim because Beowulf exemplifies the characteristics of humbleness, being
courageous, and helping others more than Dante the Pilgrim does. For a hero to be humble, they have
to not be arrogant and be courteously respectful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are 3 occasions that Beowulf helps others. The first occasion is when Beowulf goes to visit
King Hrothgar and the king begs him to help and to fight Grendel for him and his kingdom (Beowulf,
455 458). The second occasion is when King Hrothgar beseeched Beowulf to go and battle Grendel s
mother (Beowulf, 2131). The third occasion is when King Hygelac is killed and his wife wants
Beowulf to take over as king because she believes that her son is too young to lead and protect the
kingdom. But instead Beowulf honors, guides and provides support for the prince (Beowulf, 2365
2378). In contrast, Dante the Pilgrim does not help others. Yes, he is seen as a character who pities the
sinners at first but he does not help them. Instead, he wants to know their names and stories so he can
put it into his notes (Inferno, XXXII). Dante the Pilgrim is using the sinners for their stories and does
not care to help them at least feel better. A Christian hero is characterized for helping others because
that is what Jesus did. Beowulf was a helpful person to others, while Dante the Pilgrim did not seem to
help no one that asked for his

The Three Levels Of Standardness In English
The three levels of standardness in English are formal standard English, informal standard/mainstream
English, and vernacular English (Wolfram Schilling, 2016). Based in written language, formal
standard English is greatly enforced in formal institutions such as schools and is codified in English
grammar texts. It is resistant to change and only used in formal written or spoken language (Wolfram
Schilling, 2016). Informal standard English exists on a continuum in which speakers are judged to be
more or less standard. A speaker s perceived level of standardness is flexible and subjective, and
dependent on the speaker and listener s experiences, regional and social backgrounds, preconceptions,
and prejudices. Informal standard English ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker s speech is 100% rhotic, and almost all ( removed HTML ) sounds are pronounced. The
few occasions where pronunciations were different were single occurrences that were later correctly
pronounced. There were some instances in which the speaker s grammar may be considered
vernacular, such as like I say [like I said] or he s done real well [he s done really well]. However, these
were not systematic and perhaps not as stigmatized as non standard in comparison to grammatical
structures such as double negatives.
The five historical explanations for US dialects given by Wolfram and Schilling (2016) are settlement,
migration, geography, contact, and economic ecology and social stratification. The explanations for
the dialect of my DARE speaker include settlement and migration.
My speaker lives in the West dialect region. The western coast was the last area in North America to
be reached in the gradual westward expansion of English speaking settlement (Labov, Ash Boberg,
2006). Because of this, the dialect of the West region has a mixture of linguistic patterns from regions
across the United States (Labov, Ash Boberg, 2006) and is the least likely to be affected by the
founder effect and/or other characteristics of the native languages of settlers (Wolfram Schilling,
2016) . It is also arguable that speakers of the West region dialect does not speak in a variety the same
way that a speaker from the Appalachian region might.

Peace Like A River Courage Analysis
One of the most needed human traits is courage. The book, Peace Like A River by Leif Enger, displays
many types of courage throughout the book and we can learn from them...of why courage is
important. Courage is an important trait to have because we learn from it, gain new things, and it s
helping others in need. The first reason of why courage is important is because it can be learned from.
How courage is connected with learning is because people with courage and bravery learn from the
mistakes that they took on. Why, yes sir, I told Elvis. He asked Dad a question. He said, How many
times you let the dog bite you, before you put him down? And the court did not erupt, nor the jury

In Peace Like A River, Reuben displays lots of courage when trying to shoot down a bird for the
second time... Blind with despair I fired again. The goose had to be out of range; yet somehow it
shuddered, went graceless, and made a controlled fall to the ground, some eighty yards away. (7).
Even through Reuben wasn t confident of shooting down a bird and had failed the first time, he didn t
give up and shot again, and got the bird he was shooting for. This takes immense courage to face and
go through, especially when it s something a person loves to do and to learn about. Also, in another
part of the book, Reuben gets his reward of helping someone else, He pulled out two ten dollar bills
and a five and said, You done a good job, then patted another pocket and came out with two chocolate
bars. (119). This was earned by the courage and hard work that Reuben did to earn some money and
chocolate bars. By doing something good and trying hard; which takes courage; a person, in this case,
Reuben, will earn more especially if they work really hard and quickly. This is shown because the man
that Reuben was working for, gave extra for the extra effort he d put

How The Domestic Servants Changed In The 19th Century
Domestic servants were a large occupation for women in the 19th century. Domestic servants were in
upper class homes and lower class homes. Usually if one wanted a butler or a professional cook or
more one would typically be in higher classes. When a family s income got to about 150 they got a
general servant. It was typically a young lady she would work 12 to 16 hours a day. When they got a
bigger income the highered more servants. They usually cleaned, cooked or hauled coal.
Who were the servants they were hard working people who dedicated their lives to helping people in
their homes. the life of a victorian During the time that Dr John lived at Shibden with his family they
had many servants. However, the number and type of servants that the family employed changed over
the years, depending on the needs of the family. In 1859, the wages bill for half a year at Shibden was

Despite this, the work was still demanding. There were no appliances to help in their work. For

leaves over them and sweeping with a stiff brush. In 1881, the butler at Shibden was John Masfield
and he was 26. He was born at Gargrave in Yorkshire. Most of those employed in domestic service in
Victorian times were women, outnumbering men at over 20 to one by 1880. Indoor male servants
became rarer as the century progressed, as they became increasingly expensive, and were considered
the preserve of the wealthy. As at Shibden, there was often only one male servant working with a team
of women. It was only in very large establishments that there were a group of male servants with lots
of roles. In smaller houses, like Shibden, the butler would be expected to combine a number of
different jobs, including footman, valet and page boy. His main duties would be:

In their relatively short period of widespread use since their introduction in 1978 (Agar, 2003),
handheld mobile telephones have had a significant impact across the globe on a social and economic
level, however the long term impact of their use is difficult to predict. Despite this, mobile use in
Australia has rapidly grown to rate of almost 130 phones per 100 people (MNO Directory, 2011), one
of the highest in the world. Increasingly, consumers are purchasing smart phones, which have the

Dr Aric Sigman in his 2009 publication makes the claim that face to face contact has been declining as
a result of social networking, and this reduction in human contact can alter the way genes work, upset
immune responses, hormone levels, the function of arteries, and influence mental performance which
in turn could increase the risk of serious health problems such as cancer, strokes, heart disease and
dementia. With social network users totalling 1.43 billion in 2012, increasing almost 20% since 2011
(EMarketer, 2012), it certainly appears as though the popularity of these websites is showing no
evidence of a decline, and if the claims Dr Sigman makes in his article are accurate, the use of social
networking on mobile phones simply amplifies the negative aspects of social networking. Mobile

Who Is Gustav Klimt Scandal
During his lifetime, Gustav Klimt rose to fame due to the scandal his paintings causes. With his art, he
shocked his way to success, with his erotic depictions in stark moral contrast with turn of the century
Austrian society. As said in Gustav Klimt: Modernism in the Making, Klimt s reputation grew as
much upon scandal as it did upon the quality of work itself.
But what exactly was the scandal? Nude paintings were hardly new to the art world. It wasn t subject
that was causing a stir, but rather the actions of his subjects. Klimt explicitly depicted female
masturbation and lesbianism in his art. Apart from the studies depicting the most intimate union of
man and woman, the artist concentrated mainly on the various forms of self gratifying ... Show more

This painting was considered so scandalous that it was kept in a special cabinet and rarely showed as
not only did Klimt portray the uncomfortable truth about infant mortality but also depicted a pregnant
woman in a sexual manner. Typically, that whenever a pregnant woman is depicted in art, she is shown
with about as much sexuality as the Virgin Mary. Jill Lloyd, an expert in twentieth century German
and Austrian art wrote that Klimt s allegorical women, moreover, are frequently seductive; even a
young woman in the full bloom of pregnancy like Hope I has a seductive allure. Whereas anti
feminists associated women with traditional, saintly ideas of motherhood that were radically opposed
to the threatening sexuality of the prostitute or femme fatale, Klimt combines elements of both
stereotypes to achieve a more complex, ambivalent representations. Even society, currently likes to
hold onto the idea that once a woman has given birth, she is no longer a sexual being.
Even more controversial was Water Serpents I, painted in 1907. The painting shows two women both
nude and surrounded by the typical Klimt level of ostentatious ornamentation. These two women are
both nude and in a clearly sexual

Describe Different Types Of EB
1.2 Subtypes of EB
There are three different types of EB. 1) Dystrophic EB (DEB), 2) Simplex EB (SEB) and 3)
Junctional EB (JEB). These conditions are either caused by autosomal dominant gene mutation or
autosomal recessive mutation. DEB can be caused by either of the genes. Another rare form of EB is
epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA). It is an autoimmune disorder. This is when the body attacks
itself.EBA cannot be inherited. EB can be identified by friction blisters and from EBA.
1.2.1 EB Simplex
EB simplex is caused by an autosomal dominant gene mutation which results in faulty keratin protein.
Keratin is a protein that provides structure and strength for the skin. Keratin, therefore, acts as a frame
for the skin. So when this frame or scaffold is not formed properly the skin tends to fall apart and form
blisters. EB Simplex can be localized or generalised. This means that the blisters can be localized,
occurring only in the areas where friction or trauma has occurred. While with generalized blistering,
blisters can occur all over the body.
1.2.2 Junctional EB (JEB)
Junctional EB is an autosomal recessive condition. Widespread blisters occur. There is a chance of a
patient with this condition improving as they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DEB also has two forms which are autosomal recessive and autosomal dominant. Autosomal recessive
dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is caused as a result of mutations in both copies of the gene.
Both parents can transfer a damaged copy of the gene to a child despite neither of the parents having
this condition. In the case of autosomal dominance (DDEB), a faulty gene can be inherited from one
of the parents who can possibly have EB. A patient can also born with EB due to sporadic gene
mutation that is not inherited from either parent, it can occur due to an error occurring in the child s
DNA during foetal development. It is therefore important to note

The distance was over 110 miles, which broke the world record for the distance swam without the

Honduras, The Land Of No Peace
Honduras, the land of no peace
Honduras is a mountainous area located in Central America. North and northwest of the Caribbean
Sea, Honduras is south of Nicaragua and west of Guatemala also being southwest of El Salvador
below the Pacific Ocean. The topography of the land is mainly mountainous with some non tropical
areas on the upper climate and tropical areas on the climate on the lower parts. Honduras also has a
little bit of flat land. Honduras is shaped similarly to the United States but flipped, being surrounded
by a sea and three countries with an opening at the bottom to the Pacific Ocean as mentioned above.
Honduras has been captured again and again. The country is new with its independence and struggles
because of it. The history of Honduras is a struggle for its people. The authors, who are unknown,
wrote Republic of Honduras. Background Notes on Countries of the World 2003, stated that,
Columbus landed at mainland Honduras (Trujillo) in 1502. He named it Honduras (meaning depths )
for the deep water off the coast. Spaniard Hernan Cortes arrived in 1524. The Spanish began founding
settlements along the coast and Honduras came under the control of the Captaincy General of
Guatemala. Independence was given in the year of 1821when they separated from Spain. They soon
joined the coalition of Central American Nations in 1823 called the United Provinces of Central
America or the UPOCA. The United Provinces of Central America did not last long. The countries

A. Urie Bronfenbrenner’S Ecological Systems Theory Looks
A. Urie Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems Theory looks at the development of a child as
happening within an intricate system of relationships affected by various levels of their environment.
Bronfenbrenner called his theory a bioecological model because the child s biological attributes mesh
with the environment to further development. There are 5 different systems that make up the child s
surrounding environment. The distinct systems are the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem,
macrosystem, and the chronosystem. The microsystem is the first layer of the environment. It consists
of the child s immediate surroundings and the direct interactions involved within. ... Show more

Some examples include the parents workplaces, religious institutions, and even any place they receive
government help. Some more informal surroundings of the exosystem include the parents social
networks such as friends and extended family who provide advice, assistance, and friendship to the
parents. The fourth layer of the environment is the macrosystem. The macrosystem contains cultural
values, customs, resources, and laws. The more the macrosystem prioritizes children s needs, the more
support they get at the more inner levels of the environment. It also works the other way around. For
example, in countries that emphasize laws which give generous benefits to employed parents or even
laws that prioritize a higher standard of education, children see more support and have more beneficial
experiences in their immediate surroundings. The last system is the chronosystem. According to
Bronfenbrenner, the environment is a dynamic influence on a child s development. There are always
new environmental conditions being created for the child. The timing of the ever changing
environment also matters in terms of the child s circumstance and age at the time of environmental
change. The chronosystem consists of temporal environmental changes and

Cell Theory Evolution
Biologists use the ideas of cell theory, hereditary and genetics, and evolution through natural selection
in many different ways. While being very different areas of study, they all share a core idea. This idea
is that cells duplicate, and sometimes experience random mutations. From this very basic idea,
scientists can theorize that all life on earth came from one or a few very simple cells, and are related
through this. But the diversity of life today also shows how these related cell groups evolved and
changed.
Cell theory is the scientific knowledge that cells can only come from other cells. Years ago, when the
idea of spontaneous generation was disproved, a new theory came into play and allowed scientists to
learn that cells split and duplicate, sometimes experiencing random genetic mutations. This led to the
question: if all cells come from other cells, then where did the very first cell come from? Some
scientists believe that perhaps spontaneous generation happened once, billions of years ago, to start
the chain of life. Others theorize that the first cells came from an asteroid from another planet. The
first cells split and grew and split and grew, until they started to mutate and ... Show more content on

The Plot: The Ugly Duckling
The PlayStation project faced much difficulty in launching due to the initial collaboration fallout with

Advantages Of Throw Away Prototyping
Throw away Prototyping Methodology
Introduction:
Throw away prototyping is use to develop or create application as fast as possible. It helps in creating
a part of future application to ensure that a new develop feature is technically feasible. It is different
from sketching, as the sketching is more graphical and concerned towards the user interfaces and
experience and it does not requires or consist of writing programming chunks or codes snippets.
The throw away prototyping is also called closed ended prototype. It is refers to the creation of a
model that will be discarded rather then making it a part of final delivered software. It is discarded at
the end after completing the project.
A small working model of the software is provided to the end users to conform their requirements, and

methodology is easy and transition from one phase to other phase is quick and fast.Due to this method,
the project is completed on time with less cost.
Throw away prototyping is useful to use when sketching is not enough, and it requires to show the
working of features or when need to show the actual performance or response. TheThrow away

[1] Redesign the definition of capital
Bank regulation has made a more specific definition of Core Tier 1 Capital , which includes general
risk preparation , Capital reserve , paid in capital and so on . Second , To avoid default , using the gone
concern capital to ensure the repayment of funding and debt . The Core Tier 1 Capital should include a
part of shareholders funds and premium from other partners . The Core Tier 2 Capital should include
loan loss provision that has overdrawn and core 2 capital and its premium .
Negative :
The risk weighted assets will increase sharply since Basel 3 has increased the capital adequacy ratio of
the banks to defend against the operational crisis in the future . Also , Basel 3 updated the standard of
the main factor of Tier 1 as well as Tier two capital whose baseline has raised from 4% to 6% .
Although transition period of carrying out Basel 3 regulation is long , the banks with lower capital
adequacy ratio might suffer from the huge pressure of supplying sufficient capital .
Recent years , in order to reach the baseline , banks have to finance billions of dollars . A bank should
finance 30 billion dollars with 5% capital adequacy ratio , but if the ratio raised up to 7% , it might
need finance 57 billion dollars .[2] Due to accounting data from United bank of Switzerland in 2010 ,
Basel 3 regulation required 400 billion CHF risk weighted asset of United bank of Switzerland twice
than it was under Basel 2 ,

Compare And Contrast Still Life With Game Fowl
Beginning in 17th century Italy, the Baroque era is notorious for its exaggeration of movement, and
detail meant to convey excitement and tension. Influenced by the Counter Reformation, art began to
impart religious themes with detail, particularly towards emotion and drama meant to convince people
that Catholicism remained legitimate. One such artist in this movement was Juan Sánchez Cotán, a
Spanish Carthusian Monk. Although the bulk of his work comprises religious scenes, he is famous for
his work in still life. Another artist specializing in this genre, Clara Peeters, pioneered the way for
other Flemish still life artists. While neither conveyed drama, both exhibited competence in creating
beautiful and realistic still life paintings. Still Life with Game Fowl contains painterly detail in the
animals, fruit, and vegetables. From the left, one notices quince and cabbage suspended next to game
birds like mallard and quail. Employing dark colors, the background deliberately seems obscured

Contacts May Be The Best Way To Deal With Your Presbyopia If you have presbyopia, you may be
frustrated by the need to wear reading glasses. If your vision has always been good, it may be difficult
to get used to wearing glasses since you don t need to wear them all the time. You may constantly

this problem could be contact lenses. You can get contacts for your presbyopia, even if you have no

option when you have presbyopia. With these, one lens is fitted for your far vision, and the other is

Glutamate Receptors
In glutamatergic synapses the neurotransmitter glutamate transmits nerve impulses. Glutamate is the
prevalent excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS). It can act on two

receptors (metabotropic receptors). In addition, several drugs can interfere with glutamatergic such as:
Riluzole, N Acetylcysteine (NAC) and Tezampanel.
Synaptic transmission (i.e. the process of information transfer at a synapse) may be accomplished in
two distinguished manners: electrically and chemically. Chemical synapses are the most prevalent

Nonetheless, all these subtypes express a common basic structure, i.e. the presence of four
hydrophobic regions (TM I, TM II, TM III and TM IV), an extracellular N terminus and an
intracellular C terminus (Bristol.ac.uk, 2015). NMDA receptors are formed by two distinctive subunit
families: GluN1 and GluN2. GluN1 is a fundamental component of all NMDA receptors and it binds
to one of the four GluN2 subunits (GluN2A D). This means that NMDA receptors located in different
parts of the brain may have different pharmacological and biological properties and may as well act
differently. Furthermore, in order for the NMDA receptor to fully work it requires glycine (co agonist

synapses, which might be linked to memory and learning). Furthermore, AMPA receptors and kainate

narrative is consists of the bandit s story, the wife s story, and the samurai s story told through a
medium. In between each of the flashbacks the film returns to its main narrative of the film at the gate
of Rashomon with the mean discussing each of the accounts. However, thinking about it closely it can
also be said that the story the woodcutter is telling about the three suspects is ... Show more content on

  • 3. What Is The Theme Of Psychology In Lord Of The Flies In the movie Lord of the Flies, a group of boys become stranded on an island and have to survive until someone comes to rescue them. Though they may seem like innocent school boys at first, many of them soon regress into a barbaric way of life becoming hunters . With the island split in two, the themes of personality theory, aggression, and adolescence become more prevalent. Focusing on Ralph, Piggy, Jack and Simon, we can further delve into these topics. In class, we studied Sigmund Freud s personality theory; the Id, ego, and superego combine to create the behavior of humans. The Id is an unconscious part of our personalities that work to satisfy our basic urges, needs and desires. In the movie, Jack, the leader of the hunters , is a perfect representation of the Id. He is obsessed with hunting and killing, which are instinctual and primal. He and his group accidentally kill Simon thinking he is a monster. Even though it was an accident, Jack shows no remorse. Later on, his group purposely killed Piggy and again, he shows no remorse. He reasons that everything he is doing is in order for him and his group to survive and is necessary. Instead of cheering up the younger boys, he says You better start learning to live with yourself, because we ain t gonna get rescued (Lord of the Flies). He sets in everyone s, except Ralph and Piggy s, minds that they have to be in survival mode. Throughout the whole production, Jack was the human representation of the minds Id. ... Delvile is an indecisive, self centered man who does not think about the effects that his actions might have on another person. He initially confesses to her that he loves her, then ignores her just long enough that she is able to move on from him, then comes back into her life under the pretense of friendship, and then he leaves again. His flippant disregard for her feelings takes a toll on Cecilia as she tries to pinpoint what kind of relationship they actually have. The statement, I stood already committed to a profound duplicity of life (Stevenson, 123) expresses this. Henry Jekyll was a good man; he helped people. The Three Levels Of Standardness In English The three levels of standardness in English are formal standard English, informal standard/mainstream English, and vernacular English (Wolfram Schilling, 2016). Based in written language, formal standard English is greatly enforced in formal institutions such as schools and is codified in English grammar texts. It is resistant to change and only used in formal written or spoken language (Wolfram Schilling, 2016). Urie Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems Theory looks at the development of a child as happening within an intricate system of relationships affected by various levels of their environment. Bronfenbrenner called his theory a bioecological model because the child s biological attributes mesh with the environment to further development. There are 5 different systems that make up the child s surrounding environment. The distinct systems are the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and the chronosystem. The more the macrosystem prioritizes children s needs, the more support they get at the more inner levels of the environment. It also works the other way around. For example, in countries that emphasize laws which give generous benefits to employed parents or even laws that prioritize a higher standard of education, children see more support and have more beneficial experiences in their immediate surroundings. While being very different areas of study, they all share a core idea. This idea is that cells duplicate, and sometimes experience random mutations. From this very basic idea, scientists can theorize that all life on earth came from one or a few very simple cells, and are related through this. But the diversity of life today also shows how these related cell groups evolved and changed. Cell theory is the scientific knowledge that cells can only come from other cells. Years ago, when the idea of spontaneous generation was disproved, a new theory came into play and allowed scientists to learn that cells split and duplicate, sometimes experiencing random genetic mutations. This led to the question: if all cells come from other cells, then where did the very first cell come from? Some scientists believe that perhaps spontaneous generation happened once, billions of years ago, to start the chain of life. Others theorize that the first cells came from an asteroid from another planet. The first cells split and grew and split and grew, until they started to mutate and ... One such artist in this movement was Juan Sánchez Cotán, a Spanish Carthusian Monk. Although the bulk of his work comprises religious scenes, he is famous for his work in still life.
