Web And Content Management Systems
What is WordPress?
It seems that the internet is filled with blogs. That s not an observation, it s a fact. Wherever we look
on the web, we find blogs about everything from AA meetings, to taking the drug Zytiga. For most
people, starting a blog is a daunting process. Without knowledge of HTML and CSS it would seem
impossible, and for the average person, that used to be true. That is until the creation of self
publishing/content management systems(CMS) like WordPress (WP). WP was originally created as
new blogging platform in 2003. It was based on an older, and soon to be defunct, platform called
b2/cafelog. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were the founding developers of WP and sought to take
on the platform leader Moveable Type. Now WP powers around 20% of all websites. These aren t just
personal blogs, but corporate news and business sites as well. What makes WP desirable to is the cost,
and ease of use. WP is open source, so the software is free to use with any hosting providers (as of
2017 only providers that offer an SSL will be able to offer WP with their hosting). Ease of use comes
in the form of using the dashboard to publish content, and style the website. This is ideal for someone
that has no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Giving this kind of usability to everyone, makes
it possible for the average user to make a place for themselves on the web.
How does WordPress create a webpage? Now that we know a little about what WP is, we need to
understand how it

Intensive Child Rearing Ideology
During the 1930 s, the intensive mothering ideology began to emerge. Child rearing beliefs started to
shift in focus. Children, previously viewed as evil, sinful beings in need of discipline in the
seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, were now being considered innocent and vulnerable.
Approaches to parenting practices moved towards nurturance and devotion. Mothers adjusted their
behaviors to be warm, child centered, and completely devoted to meeting the needs of their children.
When mothers lacked attention and nurturance towards their children, they were accused of depriving
their children of essential elements of motherly love and devotion. The mothers were considered by
society as engaging in acts of maternal deprivation. This change in parenting style influenced the
practices of intensive mothering.
Models of child development were becoming popularized. Theorists, Erik Erikson and Sigmund
Freud, were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intensive mothering standards continued as the norm in the United States after World War II. Women
who entered the workforce to support war efforts were encouraged to return home to tend to their
children. By middle class women returning home, jobs opportunities increased for men. The transition
in the workforce promoted the economic growth. The rising economy promoted the societal
importance of women staying at home and their role as mothers. Theorists, Harry Harlow and John
Bowlby, also were focusing on the importance of the mothering role and mother infant attachment.
Harlow s research noted the social and cognitive deficits occurring in youth when maternal separation
occurs in caregiving with primates. Bowlby formulated the theory of attachment where mother child
bonding is essential during the early years of life and disruptions to the attachment contribute to
developmental problems in children. The booming economy and new advancements in caregiving
research continued to uphold the intensive mothering beliefs induced by the westernized

William Kennedy Ironweed Quotes
An Analysis of Ironweed: Victim or warrior?
In William Kennedy s novel Ironweed, the story is set in Albany, New York, during the 1930 s
otherwise known as the Great Depression. In the story, the main character Francis Phelan lives as a
bum and can be described as a classic antihero on a lengthy quest for forgiveness from both the living
and the dead. It is the story of one man s physical and emotional struggle for survival and redemption
as the guilt from his dark past become ghosts in his everyday life. He is a murderer, an alcoholic and is
constantly running away from his responsibilities. Despite these flaws, he comes across as a kind and
genuine person as he attempts to save his friends and finally returns to the family he once deserted. ...

You could have twenty dollars in your pocket at all times, make fifty, seventy five a week, have a
beautiful apartment with everything you want in it, all you want to drink, once you get straight
(Kennedy 70). Another factor to consider is that this story is set during the Great Depression,
increasing the chances of one being homeless as jobs went under and unemployment rates rose
significantly. This lasted more than a decade and many were compelled to leave their homes in search
of job opportunities (Dupuis 1) Although this was the case, Francis Phelan was not homeless because
of this reason, but because he chose to run away, commit murders, and spend his money on alcohol.
He had the qualities of a successful man but chose to react to his unfortunate life events in a cowardly

Experiment 3: The Gravimetric Determination of Calcium
Abstract:
The Gravimetric Determination of Calcium Lab utilized homogenous precipitation to determine the
percent Calcium (Ca) in an impure sample of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3). Three samples of 0.3574g,
0.3500g and 0.3736g of an impure sample of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) were added to three
beakers, two of which were 250 ml and one which was 400 ml. These three samples were reacted with
many different substances. After the reaction, presented above, was completed, the solution was
promptly put into a vacuum filtration and then subsequently massed. After the solution was massed,
the Calcium (Ca) ions from the Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) were transferred to the calcium oxalate
monohydrate, (CaC2O4 * H2O). After the Calcium (Ca) ions from the Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3)
were transferred to the calcium oxalate monohydrate, (CaC2O4 * H2O, the percent composition of
Calcium Oxide (Ca) was determined.

Animal Farm Compared To Napoleon
The pigs become more and more cruel as time goes by. The animals keep working hard, but the rations
are still being reduced. The second windmill was just starting. Napoleon has improved on the plans
from the first windmill. The farm had three new foals, and Napoleon took them to teach himself.
Another part of the field was reserved for barely. Each week went by and more whiskey was ordered.
The pigs would have parties with humans every Friday night. Napoleon is dead , Squealer announced.
The humans killed him by giving him too much whiskey last night. All of the humans ran off before
we could catch them. We will have a funeral for him Sunday morning. On Monday, we will have a
meeting for a new leader.

The days went by and the windmill was becoming a big success. All of the animal were dedicated to
making the farm the best. Napoleon s had planned an attack on Foxwood farm. The attack was at
night. The birds flew in with the best objects from the farm and convinced them to rebel. The animals
from Manor farm then came to help. The animals from Foxwood made a ruckus in the barn. Mr.
Pilkington came out with his gun. The animals from Manor farm then snuck in the farmhouse and
when Mr. Pilkington went to sleep they killed him.
Soon Paul disappeared. After a night of drinking and partying he was gone. Adolf declared him dead
and held a funeral. He then declared himself as supreme leader of the Animal Kingdom. He had no
orders for all animals to bow to king as he walks by them. He also created a new flag. It only had a pig

System Thinking Is The Process Of Understanding How Things...
System thinking is the process of understanding how things influence one another within a system.
Russell L. Ackoff, Dr. W. Edwards Deming, and Peter Senge s define, think differently, and have
different approaches of system thinking. Russell L. Ackoff was born on February 12, 1919 in
Philadelphia. He was a pioneer in the field of operations research, systems thinking and management
science. (Russell L. Ackoff) He received his bachelor degree in architecture at the University of
Pennsylvania in 1941. In 1942 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army. After his return he went on to
study at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his doctorate in philosophy of science in
1947 as C. West Churchman s first doctoral student. (Russell L. Ackoff) Russell L. Ackoff says the
typical way management has been trained in the western world is to divide any complex system into
parts, and then try to manage each part as best as you can. If these were to be divided into parts we
would believe two things which are any problem can be solved, and the system as a whole will behave
well. Ackoff goes on to say these are false because it s possible to improve the performance of each
part taken separately and destroy the system at the same time. (Production Management: A Total
Quality Management Approach) Ackoff defines a system as a whole containing two or more parts that
contains the five conditions. The first condition is the whole has one or more important properties or
functions. The

A Life-Threatening Disease Causing Infants to Blister,...
A genetic disorder that affects an estimated 25,000 50,000 people in the United States and can be life
threatening. This disease causes blisters on the skin but also in the mouth, esophagus, lungs and
muscles. Though this disorder is not common it can be mild with little symptoms, disabling, where
there are a few problems that may occur or it can be life threatening. This disease is called
Epidermolysis Bullosa.
Epidermolysis Bullosa is a genetic disorder that causes the skin to blister even with the slightest force.
Epidermolysis Bullosa is found in three different types. Each are caused by different genetic
mutations. The most common form of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is Epidermolysis Bullosa simplex
(EBS). The less common types of EB ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lives can be cut short if internal organs start to blister. Also those who have EB are more likely to
have skin cancer than those without EB. Another way that life could be cut short is because EB can
cause sepsis which is when bacteria is spread all over the body via blood stream.
There are three main types of EB. Each is caused by a different mutation. The most common type of
EB is Epidermolysis Bullosa simplex (EBS). This variation is unlike the other two in the fact that it is
autosomal dominant. The gene that is mutated is called keratin 14 or KRT14 for short. This gene in
particular codes for keratins, a type of protein that forms skin, hair and nails. There are over 60
mutations that have been found in people living with EBS from this gene alone. Keratin 14 is located
on chromosome 17.
A second type of this disorder is called Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB). This is an autosomal
recessive condition. Unlike EBS this variation of EB is more severe and causes more blistering and it
is easier to blister. Mutations caused on the collagen 17 gene which is located on chromosome 10
along with laminin 5 which is located on chromosome 20. Just as there are different variations of EB
there are two different forms of JEB. There are Herlitz and non Herlitz. Herlitz is more severe and
often can cause fingers and toes to fuse together. Herlitz JEB affects all the skin not just certain parts
such as the knees, feet, hands and

Mass Shootings
Over this past decade, an increase in mass shootings has raised a concern in the control of firearms.
With the ever growing number of shootings, the death rate due to firearms has intensified. Thus, the
controversy over gun control has caused society to push the government to re evaluate the regulation
of firearms in the United States. Hence, in order to keep and provide a safe environment for American
citizens without fear of death by firearm, the government should regulate firearms.
According to the Second Amendment, it states, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed (Lund and
Winkler). With that said, most civilians do not possess firearms ... Show more content on

The comparison between the two states show how drastically gun regulations can influence the death
rate by firearms. In the state of Wyoming, firearm sellers are not required to check gun owner
backgrounds. Therefore, gun owners are not obligated to register their guns or have a gun license.
That is to say, there is little to no gun regulations in Wyoming giving it the number one spot in the
highest gun related deaths. On the other hand, Massachusetts has the laws that regulate the possession,
sale, and use of firearms and ammunition. Once the applicant has sent in their application for a guns
permit or license, the applicant must wait 40 days in which the authorities may deny or grant them
permission to carry a firearm ( Concealed Weapons ). As stated by the Law Center to Prevent Gun
Violence, Massachusetts is a may issue state for the issuance of licenses to carry firearms, meaning
that the local licensing authority has discretion in determining whether or not to issue either license
type to an applicant ( Concealed Weapons ). In this case, Massachusetts is significantly stricter than
Wyoming and any other state in the country. Thus, with its strict gun laws, it has the lowest gun
related death rate and is ranked as fifty on the charts of gun related deaths (Hendry 2015). This further
justifies

Nicotine Persuasive Speech
I highly discourage you to abstain from even trying smokeless tobacco which consists of snuff,
chewing tobacco, and dissolvables. They may seem harmless and super easy to get away with using
but there is a very real dark side to using them.
Initially you may find them to be pretty awesome as it may give you a temporary high but
unfortunately that doesn t last and you will need to continually feed your body nicotine to keep the
high going. Unfortunately you will become addicted after allowing the nicotine to enter your body just
one time. Essentially be prepared to spend the rest of your life trying to quit nicotine after only trying
it one time.

For Most People, The Name Aaron Hernandez Was Synonymous
For most people, the name Aaron Hernandez was synonymous with a sports superstar. As a college
player with the University of Florida, Hernandez was an All American player and a member of the
BCS National Championship Team. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2010, where he
became the youngest active player on any roster in the NFL. He seemed destined for greatness, as one
of only two tight end players on one of the leading teams in the NFL. During the 2010 season, he was
named Rookie of the Week by Pepsi; he played in the Super Bowl in his second season in the NFL;
and by his third year with the NFL he received the highest signing bonus of NFL tight end in history.
However, there was a darker side to Hernandez that had a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hernandez not only emulated his father s sports star status, but also became involved with criminals
and began using drugs. These lifestyle choices almost prevented him from attaining success as an
athlete. Despite his obvious talents, NFL teams were wary of drafting Hernandez due to his admitted
flunking of a drug test. Privately, many teams also worried about his association with gang types from
his home neighborhood. He fell to the fourth round in the 2010 NFL draft before the New England
Patriots selected him with the 113th overall pick (Bio, 2015).
Professional Career Once drafted, Hernandez quickly proved his merit as a professional football
player. He had 45 catches in his rookie year, which was a team record for tight ends, helping the
Patriots secure the AFC Championship. In his second year, along with Rob Gronkowski, he led the
Patriot offense with 24 touchdowns and 2,237 receiving yards, helping secure his team s position in
Super Bowl XLVI. He was injured in his third year, but was still positioned to become a team leader,
which was recognized by the Patriots with his sizable signing bonus (A E, 2015).
Legal Problems Although he would not be indicted for murder until 2013, Hernandez s legal problems
began as early as 2007, while he was still a student at the University of Florida. It was then that
Hernandez was first prosecuted for a violent crime. An underage

Trader Joes had a plan to achieve their goals as a flourishing company. Gardiner also says, A great
cultural brand is built one interaction at a time. So the more encounters between customers and
employees, the better (Gierasimczuk, 2012). With this theory comes hiring more people and being
more engaging. That means paying a little bit more to hire staff with better than average social skills.
A goal commitment is the determination to achieve a goal. Gardiner states, A great brand advertising
campaign can make new customers flock to your store or try your product for the first time; but no
matter how brilliant your ad is, if the customer s direct experience sucks, you suck; In fact, the higher
you raise customer expectations, the worse you suck; Focus on the customer experience.
(Gierasimczuk, 2012). Value number six is what Trader Joe s does not do, elaborate budgeting. Stores
develop individual budget plans, based on their local marketplace and product array; the corporation

was that he was driving a military jeep type vehicle, and there were Iraqis walking by. So he said How
are you? and the Iraqi responded How you do? So he asked them What the f*** are you doing? (He
actually didn t curse in the story) So the Iraqi said Busch said drop weapons, take off shoes, go home.

where he was supposed to land his helicopter, and so the person in there; so the person came out of the
latrine covered in Doody . There was another time where one person had made a model of the battle
field to present to the general, to show what he thought should be the next course of action for the
military; complete with sand hills, and detailed little figures. When Mr. Sweeney flew the general into
the camp, he was landing, the downdraft from the helicopter was blowing away the sand and the

Describe The American River Basin
Study Area Description
The American River is a prime example of a multiple use, water resource system. It is the second
biggest tributary to the Sacramento River, a basic part of the San Francisco Inlet/Sacramento San
Joaquin Delta framework Its basin covers 2,163 mi2 of the western slope of the central Sierra Nevada
(fig. 1) east of Sacramento, California. This complicated system consists of three major parts the
North and Middle Forks, the South Fork, and the Lower American River downstream from Folsom
Lake (fig. 1). These major forks and Folsom Lake represent a natural and modified system of streams
and impoundments designed to meet the recreational and water supply needs of many Californians.
The American River basin is generally mountainous except for the small valley area on the west end
between the Sacramento River and Folsom Lake. Altitudes range from about 5 ft near the confluence
with the Sacramento River to 10,380 ft at Round Top Mountain, which overlooks the Silver Fork
American River in the southeast corner of the basin. Basin characteristics for each sub watershed of
the river upstream from Folsom Lake are shown in Table 1. The drainage density and basin order,

Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin
A dynamic character is a major character in a work of fiction that encounters conflict and is changed
by it. In The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, the emotional pattern and thought process of Louise
Mallard after she is informed of her husband s death are explored. Over the course of the hour in
which the story takes place Louise has a realization about the constraints she feels in her life and in
her marriage. By delineating Louise as a flat and dynamic character, Chopin is able to convey her
theme that real freedom is found in death. Over the course of the story, all the characters are left as
fairly flat and undeveloped. Louise is simply described as a young woman with a fair, clam face
whose lines bespoke repression and even a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the breath of rain in the air and the tree tops bursting with life (paragraph four), Louise begins
her journey to her conclusion. Even though the visualization of nature, Louise is competent enough to
grasp that her love for Brently could not compare to the possession of self assertion which she
suddenly recognized as the strongest impulse of her being (paragraph fifteen). Soon enough she had
nearly forgotten her departed lover and was drinking in an elixir of life through that open window
(paragraph eighteen). After the inhalation of submission, Louise carried herself unwittingly like a
goddess of Victory (paragraph twenty) down the stairs. In doing so, the once emotionally unstable and
physically ailed woman with white slender hands (paragraph ten) was able to prepare for a life without

Who Is The Perfect Life In The Great Gatsby
Nobody has a perfect life. Yet many people think that with great wealth they will have a perfect life.
Everyone has heard the phrase, money can t buy happiness , but still think they will lead a happy life
with the help of obtaining a lot of money. Many of the characters in The Great Gatsby, written by F.
Scott Fitzgerald seem to believe this same statement. Although these characters appear to have
wonderful lives, they are far from this reality. Written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
describes the lives of several of it s characters who have great wealth, yet live helpless, lonely lives.

Barbara Hochman s article Disembodied Voices and Narrating Bodies in The Great Gatsby, shows
how lonely of a life Daisy has. Daisy wants to be loved. Her husband, Tom Buchanan, has an affair
with another woman, and to add insult to injury the woman is someone with no social class. Daisy
feels so abandoned by her husband. She was willing to have an affair to feel wanted by someone else.
Even though she is not sure how she feels about her love for Gatsby, she is willing to put his heart out
on the line to give herself a sense of need. Even though Daisy reconnected with her first love, Daisy
still chooses money over happiness. Despite knowing the happiness that can come from choosing a
life with Gatsby, Daisy still decides she would rather be with someone of greater wealth, even though
it may possibly lead to less happiness later down in life (Hochman 2). Even before Jay Gatsby
reentered Daisy s life, she felt as though she was alone. Daisy wishes she would not recognize the fact
that her marriage is falling apart with Tom Buchanan. She thinks it would be easier to be a

Sceptile Controversy Blame
by BlameTheBlax One of the biggest causes of debate when it comes to Pokémon is which starter to
choose from. Usually, people will simply choose the one that they like the most, however, there are
those who aim only for the most competitively viable. So when Pokémon Sun and Moon came out
with Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio, there was bound to be controversy over which one was the best.
Sometime later, we received the leaks of the starter final evolutions. While the masses shrugged this
off as yet another fan concept, I personally found the art to be far too detailed to be entirely fake. Lo
and behold, a month before the game s official release, the demos were subject to datamining and we
found that the leaks were actually valid. While I m unsure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives it plenty of wiggle room for balancing out stats, but if I were to decide them, it would look
something like 70/105/70/100/70/120. This gives it enough defense to take one or two weaker hits, the
speed to outpace the majority of Pokémon it ought to in order to prosper in competitive, and the attack
to actually do some damage with every hit. As for hidden abilities, there are countless possibilities
with this. My list of ideas is based off of abilities that are somewhat likely, so with that said, here they
are: Sniper, Levitate, Technician, Infiltrator. Sniper is an obvious choice, personally I wouldn t like it,
but I could imagine the benefits if it gets Focus Energy. Levitate is also fairly obvious, why would we
have a bird that can t fly? Empoleon makes this idea redundant, not to mention Grass resists Ground
anyway, but never complain about immunities. There s also how Ghosts can levitate, but this holds
much less weight due to Pokémon like Golurk and Aegislash. Technician would actually be very
intriguing, since Hidden Powers would be boosted and it could run Shadow Sneak with the boost,
assuming it gets it. Lastly, Infiltrator would be interesting. While it may not be the best competitively,
the ability to ignore Screens and Substitutes is awfully rare and would make Decidueye become even

Every Saturday, my sister Precious and I always go to Skate City. We used to go to Fun Spot, but we

Growing up in Middle Georgia, sports were played year around. There was never a down time,

Harmful Effects Of Machiavellian Advertising
As accessibility to and the advancement of the new media increases, our control over what we choose
to see to decreases exponentially. Although advertisements do not seem to manifest harmful effects,
many advertisers use Machiavellian tactics to sway the opinions of people. Such tactics include:
clickbait, which makes use of targeting the curiosity of viewers to simply click on a specific link or
video, and data mining, the tracking of recent searches to show advertisements specific to what the
robots claim to be one s interests. These techniques used are implemented to evoke the specific
interests of the consumer, making pure curiosity in control of what the reader is paying attention to.
Clickbait uses persuasive and absorbing headlines and images to allows readers to quickly browse
through the content on a website and choose what they want to see. However, much of this content
that uses clickbait is false information so advertisers can get the views and shares they desire. Wu
mentions the power of clickbait, the technique that started attentional capture online. This attention
grabbing idea started on accident with a dispute with Nike. While Nike was promoting their new
personalized Nike iD, a customer named Jonah Peretti received an email from the Nike headquarters
saying they were unable to process his order because it broke one of four rules when personalizing a

Allusions In The Bible
In today s world it is difficult to read any piece of literature that has not been at least minorly impacted
by a piece of literature that has come before it. In fact, many stories published today incorporate
elements of past works or reference them directly in a literary device known as allusion. One of the
most commonly alluded to literary works is the Christian Bible, one of the oldest books to be
published in the common era. Because the Bible is often alluded to in other literary works, it has been
analyzed by countless scholars in many different ways. The most important way, that is, the way in
which Norman W. Jones analyzes the Bible is in a literary manner. Because of this, this review will
focus on Jones s literary connections and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He asserts that the Bible is a literary work that is meant to be interacted with in a different way than
most other books, and that that is what leads to the Bible having so many different ways of being
interpreted and understood in various works. He uses many examples of Shakespeare to display his
ideas about reception, explaining the historical differences and why biblical allusions and
interpretations in Shakespeare s time, and the time of John Milton and his classic Paradise Lost, would
have been received differently from how they are received now. He is constantly reminding the reader
of the differences between the past and the present in order to show how reception may have been
different. His assertion that the Bible is so ingrained in our culture and that we do not notice allusions
because of this was one that made the lack of biblical literacy understandable. The idea of the Messiah
coming to die on the cross and sacrificing himself for all of humanity is one that many people are
brought up with in the present day. Because of this, the idea of a character sacrificing themself for the
greater good or to protect their friends is not a novel idea to us in the present. In fact, it may even be
considered an overused trope or plot device. It is almost cliched and not original in any way. We are so
desensitized to this basic Bible inspired plot that we do not even realize that that is where it has come
from. While I did agree with Jones s argument about this, I also felt that when a book uses the trope in
the right way, like in Harry Potter where Harry sacrifices himself not just for his friends, but for the
safety of the entire wizarding world and muggle world s combined, the biblical allusion becomes
abundantly

Analysis Of The Film Waco-Rules Of Engagement
A cult, a term widely utilized within popular culture and American society to describe contemporary,
arguably, religious groups has garnered an extremely negative stigma. These media portrayed,
dangerous groups have over time been accumulating and growing amongst other religions. It is
definite that though, historically, these cults have been victims of marginalization, invalidation of their
beliefs and media/government harassment, many of these organizations are minimally nothing of the
demonized ameliorated image, that is enveloped by American society. Hence, from this point forward,
within the briefing piece , it is only with a deep understanding/a religious study interpretation to
acknowledge these groups as new religious movements (NRMs). As a standoff between the FBI and
the religious organization is inevitable, considering illegal acts may be occurring within the NRM, it is
with a better approach to look at the film Waco Rules of Engagement , directed by Amy Sommer, to
avoid any unlawful procedures that could possible occur with the group. Additionally, by gaining
insight with the help of Catherine L. Wessinger s article, How the Millennium Comes Violent the
agency could better handle the situation and avoid the effects of acting too hostile against the
organization. Apparent through watching the entirety of the film, Waco Rules of Engagement ,

Prenatal Genetic Testing Raise Ethnic Issues
In Improvements in Prenatal Genetic Testing Raise Ethnic Issues, R. J. Crayton produced an article
about prenatal testing and whether or not parents should be allowed to have these tests done. First the
situation of a high risk baby who will have a disability or defect after birth, so the parents decide to
abort the child is being viewed as an inequality to the disabled community. Secondly, certain
adoptions are put on hold since the biological parents chose to not carry the unborn child through the
entire pregnancy, however, the surrogate mother wants to carry the child through the entire term.
Lastly, research shows that the results can be a false positive, so unintentionally the parents decide not
to keep the unknown, but healthy baby.
To start off with the population that is born with defects or disabilities view the test results as a
discriminating factor against them because of parents wanting to abort children like them. According
to Professor Daniel Williams, he shows that a speculative society standards may arise to ...produce a
healthy child... due to the test results (Crayton, R.J.). Also, Peter Chipman expands to say that due to
the results parents think of the face value of the disability and not the authenticity of the disability.
Within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention article there are people who share their story
about living a disabled life. Nickole has spinal muscular atrophy, which is a genetic disability she had

Summary Of Three Girls By Oates
It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky, and suddenly you see
a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape, its staring you in the
face. (Oates, 95)
Oates Three Girls tells the story of two girl poets in the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan on a snowy
day in March of 1956. They wander through the aisles of poetry, with commentary about various poets
and collections of poetries and how they reflected on the girl poets . We were girl poets passionately
enamored of T.S. Eliot but scornful of Robert Frost, whom we d been made to memorize in high
school Slyly we communicated in code phrases from Eliot in the presence of obtuse others in our
dining hall and residence. (Oates, 92) Suddenly she is pulled from her thoughts, as her friend touches
her wrist and guides her further into the store to stumble upon Marilyn Monroe. From here, the girl
poets follow her discretely, with a commentary of how Monroe s discretion was so much different
form how she was normally seen. She was, at that moment, not a garnish blond showgirl , but rather
this woman was an individual wholly absorbed in selecting, leafing through, pausing to read books
(Oates, 93) They continue to follow her until she reaches the storefront, where they volunteer to pay
for her books to keep the secret of her being here. From there they return her books to her outside,
with her gifting them the Selected Poems of Marianne Moore before departing. The story closes with
the two girl poets sharing their first kiss.
The chosen quote, ( It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky,
and suddenly you see a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape,
its staring you in the face. (Oates, 95)) plays not only to the main plot of the story (the girl poets
discovering Marilyn Monroe in the Strand Bookstore), but also to the subplot (the girl poets sharing
their first kiss and becoming lovers) as well. It applies to the main plot very clearly through two sides:
that though by this point in the story only the girl poets have discovered it is Monroe, the realization
that others could at moment s

The Chesapeake Bay
Scene in Fig. 1.1., the Chesapeake Bay is substantial in size; at roughly 64,000 miles, it contains
roughly fifty rivers and thousands of streams and creeks. It encompasses parts of 6 states, including all
of Washington, DC. The Chesapeake Bay is what is known as a watershed, an area that contributes to
the drainage to a water body, stream, river, lake or ocean. Rainwater that falls within the 64,000 square
miles that is the Chesapeake Bay will subsequently travel through many streams and rivers, eventually
making its way into the largest estuary system in the United States.
The Estuary System
An estuary system is the resulting collisions of sweet and salt fresh river water flowing seaward and
ocean water inland. It is an aquatic system where salt and freshwater are constantly mixing. An
estuary system is one of most active systems of the planet; it is a hybrid system that contains the best
and worst qualities of the ocean, river, and lake systems it conglomerates. Estuaries are unique in
nature because of their ability to be the most productive ecosystem on the entire planet; humans have
attempted and failed to reach the productivity that estuaries naturally grant. There productivity lies it
the constant change that occurs from the conflicting flows of fresh and ocean water. Ocean and
freshwater are measured largely based on salinity, or the level of parts of salt per thousand. Ocean
water usually has around 35 parts per thousands of salt water, while freshwater

What Are The Changes In Law Enforcement Essay
Law enforcement has got to be one of the most adaptable careers out there. With our society it is
constantly changing and evolving. Law enforcement must adapt quickly. Over the past couple years
our society has seen dramatic changes between the public s relationship and law enforcement. With
such diversity among the United States our law enforcement has to be capable of adapting with these
people or else there will be more serious issues later on down the road. There is no constant, our
society continues to grow in every which way, but at the same time all these people need the proper
protection and policing. There are many challenges law enforcement will endure in the next decade,
but with the proper training many lives can be saved. I believe law enforcement should always be held
at high regard. Some people that have been hired in the past should have never been given a badge.
Background checks are crucial and should be done in drastic extent. Problems that have occurred in
the past seem to sometimes follow later on down in life, unless the individual drastically changes their
ways and character. The first step to avoiding a bad situation later on is hiring the right people. With
technology available today, anything can be found. Therefore, law enforcement should be capable of
doing the same thing for the people who they look to hire. The first step to avoiding a bad decision is
hiring the right people. There were many cases for these small towns that don t

The Inevitable Truth Of Global Warming

The Inevitable Truth
My dream is to live in a world where I can walk outside and know I live in a clean environment where
I don t have to worry about what my grandchildren s grandchildren might have to deal with during
their lives. Earth s climate is facing a dramatic turn of events and becomes more and more
unpredictable every year. Why is this happening? Many people ask. The clear answer is facing all of
us, yet some of Americans don t want to believe it. The answer is global warming. Many people
believe global warming is a hoax or a bunch of nonsense evidence constructed by the government;
however, it is real and has a major effect on our world. Sea levels will rise, carbon dioxide along with
green house gas levels will rise, wild life will die off, and the human race will not be ready for these
consequences. Firstly, Earths largest problem, and arguably the most detrimental to its health is the
drastic and sudden increase in carbon dioxide and green house gas levels:
The WMO s data for 2013 shows the global average level of atmospheric carbon at just under 400
parts per million, about 40 percent higher than in
pre industrial times and higher than in any other
period in at least 800,000 years. (Warrick.)
This upsurge emanates numerous problems. Increases in CO2 levels lay the foundation for many of
Earth s additional problems such as the rise in sea level, temperature, and its

Let s take football players, for instance. During the season many are told to bulk up or gain weight.
But what happens after the season is over? By bulking up during the season the players are eating
many more calories than necessary and are often eating the wrong foods. So after the season is over
the athletes have established bad habits and are carrying excess weight around. Now, on the opposite
side of the spectrum, many athletes are not eating enough. Their caloric intake is too low for the
amount of physical activity being partaken in. Sports that are known for having problems with this are

When athletes are not properly fueled they may become fatigued, and they are more prone to illness
and injury. This will most certainly affect their performance. But there is something we can do about
this. Matzkin says that anytime a young female athlete comes to her office with shin splits or fractures,
she now asks about nutrition and menstruation. We may be able to identify the root cause of bone
mineral density problems, she says, and patients can be helped early to chart a new course in eating. It
s not just about eating enough, Matzkin says. It s also about eating the right things like fruits,
vegetables, protein and foods rich in calcium and vitamin D. It s critical to build bone when you can,
she says, because there s literally a countdown to how long women have to build strong bones. (Patti
Neighmond) Neighmond in this radio show says that it is all about what they eat. By not fueling their

How Did The Electric Guitar Changed The Way They Able To...
Imagine music how it is now, now imagine music if the electric guitar was never invented over 70
years ago. What would music be like? That I cannot answer. But what I can answer is how the electric
guitar changed the way we are able to make music. When there was no electric guitar, only acoustic,
we were only blue to play at a certain volume usually not loud enough for a lot of people to hear.
When pickups were introduced, it allowed the guitar to be amplified through a large speaker. The
electric guitar gave a lot of opportunities to alter the sound that goes through the pickup. Whether it be
a picking technique or an effect pedal people have made sounds unreplicatable from another player. It
also created the perfect environment for certain genres like blues which was a genre long before the
electric guitar was invented. The electric guitar changed the history of music by making music louder,
giving new opportunities to alter the sound, and it created the perfect environment for old and new
genres. Before the electric guitar, there was only an acoustic. This was a hollow design allowed sound
to transfer from the strings into the chamber which released a fair amount of sound ... Show more

This of course, is the blues. Blues was around in the 1920s and was played on an acoustic guitar. The

Muckrakers In The 1920 s
Muckrakers According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary a muckraker is someone who searches out
and publicly exposes real or apparent misconduct of a prominent individual or business ( Muckraker ).
During the 1890s to the 1920s, muckrakers were a group of American journalists who exposed the
corruption in society and informed the public about important social issues. The term muckraker
originally came around when President Roosevelt gave a speech about reporters who exposed political
and corporate corruption ( Who Are the Muckrakers? ). There have been so many muckrakers in
American history whose works have been the cause of new laws and changes; some of the most
important and famous of these muckrakers were Upton Sinclair, Samuel Hopkins Adams, and Jacob
Riis. The first of the muckrakers to be discussed is Jacob Riis. Riis was born and raised in Denmark,
but moved to New York when he was twenty one years old. He grew up in an impoverished household
with fourteen other siblings; therefore, he understood the struggle of the needy that lived in New York

Comparing The Masks Of The Carnevale Di Viareggio
The Carnevale di Viareggio is an annual festival held in the beautiful city in Venice. The Carnival ends
with the Christian celebration of Lent, which is forty days before Easter, on Shrove Thursday. The
festival is world famous because of its elaborate, detailed and amazing masks.
Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian carnival. Usually people could wear
them between the festival of Santo Stephens s day and the start of the carnival season, midnight, on

  • 2. Web And Content Management Systems What is WordPress? It seems that the internet is filled with blogs. That s not an observation, it s a fact. Wherever we look on the web, we find blogs about everything from AA meetings, to taking the drug Zytiga. For most people, starting a blog is a daunting process. Without knowledge of HTML and CSS it would seem impossible, and for the average person, that used to be true. That is until the creation of self publishing/content management systems(CMS) like WordPress (WP). WP was originally created as new blogging platform in 2003. It was based on an older, and soon to be defunct, platform called b2/cafelog. Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little were the founding developers of WP and sought to take on the platform leader Moveable Type. Now WP powers around 20% of all websites. These aren t just personal blogs, but corporate news and business sites as well. What makes WP desirable to is the cost, and ease of use. WP is open source, so the software is free to use with any hosting providers (as of 2017 only providers that offer an SSL will be able to offer WP with their hosting). Ease of use comes in the form of using the dashboard to publish content, and style the website. This is ideal for someone that has no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. Giving this kind of usability to everyone, makes it possible for the average user to make a place for themselves on the web. How does WordPress create a webpage? Now that we know a little about what WP is, we need to understand how it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Intensive Child Rearing Ideology During the 1930 s, the intensive mothering ideology began to emerge. Child rearing beliefs started to shift in focus. Children, previously viewed as evil, sinful beings in need of discipline in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, were now being considered innocent and vulnerable. Approaches to parenting practices moved towards nurturance and devotion. Mothers adjusted their behaviors to be warm, child centered, and completely devoted to meeting the needs of their children. When mothers lacked attention and nurturance towards their children, they were accused of depriving their children of essential elements of motherly love and devotion. The mothers were considered by society as engaging in acts of maternal deprivation. This change in parenting style influenced the practices of intensive mothering. Models of child development were becoming popularized. Theorists, Erik Erikson and Sigmund Freud, were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Intensive mothering standards continued as the norm in the United States after World War II. Women who entered the workforce to support war efforts were encouraged to return home to tend to their children. By middle class women returning home, jobs opportunities increased for men. The transition in the workforce promoted the economic growth. The rising economy promoted the societal importance of women staying at home and their role as mothers. Theorists, Harry Harlow and John Bowlby, also were focusing on the importance of the mothering role and mother infant attachment. Harlow s research noted the social and cognitive deficits occurring in youth when maternal separation occurs in caregiving with primates. Bowlby formulated the theory of attachment where mother child bonding is essential during the early years of life and disruptions to the attachment contribute to developmental problems in children. The booming economy and new advancements in caregiving research continued to uphold the intensive mothering beliefs induced by the westernized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. William Kennedy Ironweed Quotes An Analysis of Ironweed: Victim or warrior? In William Kennedy s novel Ironweed, the story is set in Albany, New York, during the 1930 s otherwise known as the Great Depression. In the story, the main character Francis Phelan lives as a bum and can be described as a classic antihero on a lengthy quest for forgiveness from both the living and the dead. It is the story of one man s physical and emotional struggle for survival and redemption as the guilt from his dark past become ghosts in his everyday life. He is a murderer, an alcoholic and is constantly running away from his responsibilities. Despite these flaws, he comes across as a kind and genuine person as he attempts to save his friends and finally returns to the family he once deserted. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You could have twenty dollars in your pocket at all times, make fifty, seventy five a week, have a beautiful apartment with everything you want in it, all you want to drink, once you get straight (Kennedy 70). Another factor to consider is that this story is set during the Great Depression, increasing the chances of one being homeless as jobs went under and unemployment rates rose significantly. This lasted more than a decade and many were compelled to leave their homes in search of job opportunities (Dupuis 1) Although this was the case, Francis Phelan was not homeless because of this reason, but because he chose to run away, commit murders, and spend his money on alcohol. He had the qualities of a successful man but chose to react to his unfortunate life events in a cowardly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Gravimetric Determination Lab Zainulabidin Adhami BB3 Experiment 3: The Gravimetric Determination of Calcium Abstract: The Gravimetric Determination of Calcium Lab utilized homogenous precipitation to determine the percent Calcium (Ca) in an impure sample of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3). Three samples of 0.3574g, 0.3500g and 0.3736g of an impure sample of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) were added to three beakers, two of which were 250 ml and one which was 400 ml. These three samples were reacted with many different substances. He was a pioneer in the field of operations research, systems thinking and management science. (Russell L. Ackoff) He received his bachelor degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania in 1941. In 1942 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army. After his return he went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his doctorate in philosophy of science in 1947 as C. West Churchman s first doctoral student. (Russell L. Ackoff) Russell L. Ackoff says the typical way management has been trained in the western world is to divide any complex system into parts, and then try to manage each part as best as you can. If these were to be divided into parts we would believe two things which are any problem can be solved, and the system as a whole will behave well. Ackoff goes on to say these are false because it s possible to improve the performance of each part taken separately and destroy the system at the same time. (Production Management: A Total Quality Management Approach) Ackoff defines a system as a whole containing two or more parts that contains the five conditions. The first condition is the whole has one or more important properties or functions. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each is caused by a different mutation. The most common type of EB is Epidermolysis Bullosa simplex (EBS). This variation is unlike the other two in the fact that it is autosomal dominant. The gene that is mutated is called keratin 14 or KRT14 for short. This gene in particular codes for keratins, a type of protein that forms skin, hair and nails. There are over 60 mutations that have been found in people living with EBS from this gene alone. Keratin 14 is located on chromosome 17. A second type of this disorder is called Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB). This is an autosomal recessive condition. Unlike EBS this variation of EB is more severe and causes more blistering and it is easier to blister. Mutations caused on the collagen 17 gene which is located on chromosome 10 along with laminin 5 which is located on chromosome 20. With the ever growing number of shootings, the death rate due to firearms has intensified. Thus, the controversy over gun control has caused society to push the government to re evaluate the regulation of firearms in the United States. Hence, in order to keep and provide a safe environment for American citizens without fear of death by firearm, the government should regulate firearms. The comparison between the two states show how drastically gun regulations can influence the death rate by firearms. In the state of Wyoming, firearm sellers are not required to check gun owner backgrounds. Therefore, gun owners are not obligated to register their guns or have a gun license. That is to say, there is little to no gun regulations in Wyoming giving it the number one spot in the highest gun related deaths. On the other hand, Massachusetts has the laws that regulate the possession, sale, and use of firearms and ammunition. Once the applicant has sent in their application for a guns permit or license, the applicant must wait 40 days in which the authorities may deny or grant them permission to carry a firearm ( Concealed Weapons ). As stated by the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, Massachusetts is a may issue state for the issuance of licenses to carry firearms, meaning that the local licensing authority has discretion in determining whether or not to issue either license type to an applicant ( Concealed Weapons ). In this case, Massachusetts is significantly stricter than Wyoming and any other state in the country. Thus, with its strict gun laws, it has the lowest gun related death rate and is ranked as fifty on the charts of gun related deaths (Hendry 2015). This further justifies ... My dad recalls me getting hit, head to head with the linebacker. I remember picking my helmet and running to the sidelines. My head was killing me. I sat on the bench with trainers around me. • 24. Harmful Effects Of Machiavellian Advertising As accessibility to and the advancement of the new media increases, our control over what we choose to see to decreases exponentially. Although advertisements do not seem to manifest harmful effects, many advertisers use Machiavellian tactics to sway the opinions of people. Such tactics include: clickbait, which makes use of targeting the curiosity of viewers to simply click on a specific link or video, and data mining, the tracking of recent searches to show advertisements specific to what the robots claim to be one s interests. These techniques used are implemented to evoke the specific interests of the consumer, making pure curiosity in control of what the reader is paying attention to. Clickbait uses persuasive and absorbing headlines and images to allows readers to quickly browse through the content on a website and choose what they want to see. However, much of this content that uses clickbait is false information so advertisers can get the views and shares they desire. Wu mentions the power of clickbait, the technique that started attentional capture online. This attention grabbing idea started on accident with a dispute with Nike. While Nike was promoting their new personalized Nike iD, a customer named Jonah Peretti received an email from the Nike headquarters saying they were unable to process his order because it broke one of four rules when personalizing a word or phrase. • 25. Allusions In The Bible In today s world it is difficult to read any piece of literature that has not been at least minorly impacted by a piece of literature that has come before it. In fact, many stories published today incorporate elements of past works or reference them directly in a literary device known as allusion. One of the most commonly alluded to literary works is the Christian Bible, one of the oldest books to be published in the common era. Because the Bible is often alluded to in other literary works, it has been analyzed by countless scholars in many different ways. The most important way, that is, the way in which Norman W. Jones analyzes the Bible is in a literary manner. Because of this, this review will focus on Jones s literary connections and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He asserts that the Bible is a literary work that is meant to be interacted with in a different way than most other books, and that that is what leads to the Bible having so many different ways of being interpreted and understood in various works. He uses many examples of Shakespeare to display his ideas about reception, explaining the historical differences and why biblical allusions and interpretations in Shakespeare s time, and the time of John Milton and his classic Paradise Lost, would have been received differently from how they are received now. He is constantly reminding the reader of the differences between the past and the present in order to show how reception may have been different. His assertion that the Bible is so ingrained in our culture and that we do not notice allusions because of this was one that made the lack of biblical literacy understandable. The idea of the Messiah coming to die on the cross and sacrificing himself for all of humanity is one that many people are brought up with in the present day. Because of this, the idea of a character sacrificing themself for the greater good or to protect their friends is not a novel idea to us in the present. In fact, it may even be considered an overused trope or plot device. It is almost cliched and not original in any way. We are so desensitized to this basic Bible inspired plot that we do not even realize that that is where it has come from. While I did agree with Jones s argument about this, I also felt that when a book uses the trope in the right way, like in Harry Potter where Harry sacrifices himself not just for his friends, but for the safety of the entire wizarding world and muggle world s combined, the biblical allusion becomes abundantly ... Analysis Of The Film Waco-Rules Of Engagement A cult, a term widely utilized within popular culture and American society to describe contemporary, arguably, religious groups has garnered an extremely negative stigma. These media portrayed, dangerous groups have over time been accumulating and growing amongst other religions. It is definite that though, historically, these cults have been victims of marginalization, invalidation of their beliefs and media/government harassment, many of these organizations are minimally nothing of the demonized ameliorated image, that is enveloped by American society. Hence, from this point forward, within the briefing piece , it is only with a deep understanding/a religious study interpretation to acknowledge these groups as new religious movements (NRMs). As a standoff between the FBI and the religious organization is inevitable, considering illegal acts may be occurring within the NRM, it is with a better approach to look at the film Waco Rules of Engagement , directed by Amy Sommer, to avoid any unlawful procedures that could possible occur with the group. Crayton produced an article about prenatal testing and whether or not parents should be allowed to have these tests done. First the situation of a high risk baby who will have a disability or defect after birth, so the parents decide to abort the child is being viewed as an inequality to the disabled community. Secondly, certain adoptions are put on hold since the biological parents chose to not carry the unborn child through the entire pregnancy, however, the surrogate mother wants to carry the child through the entire term. Lastly, research shows that the results can be a false positive, so unintentionally the parents decide not to keep the unknown, but healthy baby. Summary Of Three Girls By Oates It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky, and suddenly you see a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape, its staring you in the face. (Oates, 95) Oates Three Girls tells the story of two girl poets in the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan on a snowy day in March of 1956. They wander through the aisles of poetry, with commentary about various poets and collections of poetries and how they reflected on the girl poets . We were girl poets passionately enamored of T.S. Eliot but scornful of Robert Frost, whom we d been made to memorize in high school Slyly we communicated in code phrases from Eliot in the presence of obtuse others in our dining hall and residence. (Oates, 92) Suddenly she is pulled from her thoughts, as her friend touches her wrist and guides her further into the store to stumble upon Marilyn Monroe. From here, the girl poets follow her discretely, with a commentary of how Monroe s discretion was so much different form how she was normally seen. She was, at that moment, not a garnish blond showgirl , but rather this woman was an individual wholly absorbed in selecting, leafing through, pausing to read books (Oates, 93) They continue to follow her until she reaches the storefront, where they volunteer to pay for her books to keep the secret of her being here. From there they return her books to her outside, with her gifting them the Selected Poems of Marianne Moore before departing. The story closes with the two girl poets sharing their first kiss. The chosen quote, ( It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky, and suddenly you see a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape, its staring you in the face. (Oates, 95)) plays not only to the main plot of the story (the girl poets discovering Marilyn Monroe in the Strand Bookstore), but also to the subplot (the girl poets sharing their first kiss and becoming lovers) as well. It applies to the main plot very clearly through two sides: that though by this point in the story only the girl poets have discovered it is Monroe, the realization that others could at moment s ... It encompasses parts of 6 states, including all of Washington, DC. The Chesapeake Bay is what is known as a watershed, an area that contributes to the drainage to a water body, stream, river, lake or ocean. Rainwater that falls within the 64,000 square miles that is the Chesapeake Bay will subsequently travel through many streams and rivers, eventually making its way into the largest estuary system in the United States. The Estuary System An estuary system is the resulting collisions of sweet and salt fresh river water flowing seaward and ocean water inland. It is an aquatic system where salt and freshwater are constantly mixing. An estuary system is one of most active systems of the planet; it is a hybrid system that contains the best and worst qualities of the ocean, river, and lake systems it conglomerates. Estuaries are unique in nature because of their ability to be the most productive ecosystem on the entire planet; humans have attempted and failed to reach the productivity that estuaries naturally grant. There productivity lies it the constant change that occurs from the conflicting flows of fresh and ocean water. Law enforcement must adapt quickly. Over the past couple years our society has seen dramatic changes between the public s relationship and law enforcement. With such diversity among the United States our law enforcement has to be capable of adapting with these people or else there will be more serious issues later on down the road. There is no constant, our society continues to grow in every which way, but at the same time all these people need the proper protection and policing. There are many challenges law enforcement will endure in the next decade, but with the proper training many lives can be saved. I believe law enforcement should always be held at high regard. Some people that have been hired in the past should have never been given a badge. Background checks are crucial and should be done in drastic extent. Problems that have occurred in the past seem to sometimes follow later on down in life, unless the individual drastically changes their ways and character. The first step to avoiding a bad situation later on is hiring the right people. With technology available today, anything can be found. Earth s climate is facing a dramatic turn of events and becomes more and more unpredictable every year. Why is this happening? Many people ask. The clear answer is facing all of us, yet some of Americans don t want to believe it. The answer is global warming. Many people believe global warming is a hoax or a bunch of nonsense evidence constructed by the government; however, it is real and has a major effect on our world. Sea levels will rise, carbon dioxide along with green house gas levels will rise, wild life will die off, and the human race will not be ready for these consequences. Firstly, Earths largest problem, and arguably the most detrimental to its health is the drastic and sudden increase in carbon dioxide and green house gas levels: The WMO s data for 2013 shows the global average level of atmospheric carbon at just under 400 parts per million, about 40 percent higher than in pre industrial times and higher than in any other period in at least 800,000 years. What would music be like? That I cannot answer. But what I can answer is how the electric guitar changed the way we are able to make music. When there was no electric guitar, only acoustic, we were only blue to play at a certain volume usually not loud enough for a lot of people to hear. When pickups were introduced, it allowed the guitar to be amplified through a large speaker. The electric guitar gave a lot of opportunities to alter the sound that goes through the pickup. Whether it be a picking technique or an effect pedal people have made sounds unreplicatable from another player. It also created the perfect environment for certain genres like blues which was a genre long before the electric guitar was invented. The electric guitar changed the history of music by making music louder, giving new opportunities to alter the sound, and it created the perfect environment for old and new genres. During the 1890s to the 1920s, muckrakers were a group of American journalists who exposed the corruption in society and informed the public about important social issues.
