thought that the dialogue was very authentic. Initially, I was offended on how the African

Miss Emily Questions
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily, the elderly woman is mysterious, suspicious, and a
murderer. Throughout the story the narrator talks a little about Emily s back story but the
narrator does go as far as telling about her child hood growing up but instead talks about her life
from the time she is a young adult until she is an elder. We start to see that there are some
unanswered questions throughout the entire story, and even with the surprise ending it still
leaves us with a lot of questions that need to be answered. Since the narrator didn t give that
much of a backstory regarding Miss Emily, we must come up with theories and conclusions to
answer our own questions. First, we see that Miss Emily is mysterious even from the very
beginning because the narrator talks about how her house used to be, white, decorated with
cupolas, and spires, and scrolled balconies . By the way the narrator describes her house it seems
that it used to be very beautiful and full of life, but now the, garages and cotton gins had
encroached and obliterated . The narrator mentions in the story is that Miss Emily had a
manservant; we start to ask ourselves the question that if she has a servant to wait on her hand and
foot than how could she let her house get in such a bad shape like that when she could have asked

Harsh. Unsafe. Dangerous. These are all terms to describe factories around a decade and a half
ago. This was during a time known as the Industrial Age. The Industrial Age, characterized by its
advances in technology and increase in urbanization, started in England in the late 1700s and
spread to America by the mid 1800s. The changes brought on by the Industrial Age affected the
US both positively and negatively. Workers were affected negatively. They had to work in the
harsh conditions of the factories where they were overworked and put into dangerous

Learning about dialects was another interesting topic we discussed in class, the topic made me
really think deep about what kind of dialect I use in everyday life. Dialects are a specific
variation of a language in a particular region or ethic group with individualized phonological
features to wide range of groups. A large part of decoding dialects is the understanding of the
International Phonetic Alphabet, phonology, and phonemes used in the different areas you might
be teaching in. Phonology is the study of sound and phonemes is the smallest unit of sound both

Alphabet represents the sounds letters make for a spoken language and when written the word
reads as a certain dialect. Lexical features of dialects are the preferred terms of words used in
certain dialects with different synonyms used by other dialects. Learning about dialects also taught
me how people code switch from home to public settings. I speak a Northern Jersey with a small
amount of classic southern mixed into my dialect. Allowing me to understand multiple dialects
including Standard English. My stronger northern accent may cause me teaching in areas with a

designed for the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI). C# applications are compiled into
bytecode that can run on implementations of the CLI. The fact that Microsoft own Visual Studio

throw, virtual, and null. But they are a few different keywords in C# that simply are not the same
as in Java. Furthermore, C# and Java share the same primitive data types, with the exception that
C# uses the System namespace regarding those objects. In C# and Java, there is built in garbage
collection, it helps prevent memory leaks by removing objects that are no longer being used by the

James died a martyr, something that Eusebius holds to be extremely significant which he continues
to mention throughout the piece. So important in fact that the following six chapters of the work
deal primarily with the persecution and turmoil Christians faced. Eusebius saw it essential that the
struggle of the Lord s people and the many deaths of martyrs not be forgotten. The end of this
persecution is said to have come under Diocletian. Despite being the final stint of Roman
persecution, that under Diocletian was the most brutal and most severe. Under a proposed return to
greatness Diocletian sought to completely eradicate the Christian faith. While other emperors were
reluctant to pass specific anti Christian legislature Diocletian targeted common christians as well as
the priesthood and teachers albeit unsuccessfully. Diocletian s attempted did nothing but facilitated
