I eventually let him know that I had a serious problem with learning Spanish from our teacher and

had to use and how to structure a sentence. There are four present tense, four past tense, three
futures, four conditionals, one simple, and three preterite tenses. He first taught me how to use all
of the conjugations because without those I could never learn how to structure a sentence

out of Spanish 1 with an 80 which was far better than my 55 that I started my year with. Though I

restaurant I observed elements of folk and popular culture which included the music that was
playing there, which was mariachi band music which made the place feel more authentic to
Mexico. The music from the mariachi band was a piece of their folk culture they had, because they
used violins, trumpets, guitarron a spanish guitar used in most Spanish music, and a vihuela a five
stringed guitar with a high pitch. Some of the popular culturethat was there was the outfits the
servers were wearing which was a plain old t shirt and some black pants, and it was more popular
culture because nowadays servers wear a shirt and pants that match what the theme or idea of the

Throughout this class we have read different types of literature from many different authors. Some
of the material I truly enjoyed and some of it not so much. I really enjoyed the Native American
literature that we started out with in the beginning of the semester. I think the Native Americans
are beautiful people who appreciated the land more than most. The Native Americans were smart
people who used short stories such as The Chief s Daughters and Coyote and Bear to warn their
readers of dangers or teach them moral lessons. I also enjoyed authors such as Edward Taylor, Anne
Bradstreet, and Thomas Paine. I did not like reading William Byrd s material, chiefly because he
was rude and spoke nastily of the Native Americans. It personally offended me that he thought their

from many different people who fought or participated in the Vietnam War. There are two

out because they use surrealism. Surrealism is the word to describe what most people may
perceive as unreal . These stories use surrealism by creating elements in the story that almost sound
impossible, but the author insists that they are true. Throughout the story, we are constantly asking

An active ITCZ has strong tradewinds causing solid lines of active Cumulonimbus (Cb) with other
types of clouds at higher levels. Due to the instability and predominantly vertical movement of air
the cloud development can be extreme with the tops reaching up to 55,000ft and can be some
300nm wide. At this scale it is hard to avoid the clouds and determining whether the ITCZ is in

Lastly is housing, this I tended to disagree with for the most part. Although the Pearl did develop
mostly mixed use, and multifamily housing the price range is pretty ridiculous. In the PBS
video we watching in class, Rick Gustafson says that 22% of the housing is for low income
tenants, if this is true those apartments must be almost impossible to find. I know personally that
the Pearl District is one of the most expensive places to live in Portland. I don t necessarily think
this is wrong or immoral or that there is social injustice, but the idea that the Pearl District is
affordable for many young people is far fetched. This would be one of the very few ways that the
Pearl District does not match Yin s guidelines for a sustainable city.
The second article is about a town in Sweden that decided to go all out for a eco friendly
sustainable town. Much like the Pearl District, Hammarby SjГ¶stad was built in an old unused
industrial area of Stockholm. This city, which is home to about 20,000 residents used many of the
same techniques that Yin pointed out, just as the Pearl did. One major highlight of Hammarby
Sjostad is its waste recycling and sorting process. The city uses underground shoots to take waste
from each building and sends it to a main location where the waste is sorted. Some can be recycled
and reused, while other bits are burned and used to heat homes

How I got interested in computers was when I got my very first one when I was sort of young
around eight or nine. It wasn t the best computer out at the time, but it was still a computer that
made me so attached to and fascinated with the technology that makes up computers. When I
started using computers, I would use them to play games and all sorts of stuff, but now that I
have my own computer that I built and paid for I can do anything with it, and it cost me around

The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock by T. S. Eliot is an excellent short poem about a man
reflecting back on his life and realizing that he is alone and might possibly die alone. Eliot uses a
variety of symbols, metaphors, and great diction to convey that Prufrock is unsatisfied with his
life, especially his love life. Eliot depicts Prufrock as an older man reflecting back on his life,
metaphorically, going through a midlife crisis. I grow old... I grow old.../I shall wear the
bottoms of my trousers rolled, by this Eliot is getting the reader to visualize as a person grows
older, they grow shorter (120 121). Along with growing shorter Eliot also describes the

Who is your favorite villain? Maybe it s the evil Darth Vader, killing his own people in his
conquest, or Sauron, who is rarely seen but sends his armies off to stop Frodo. All villains have
something in common, they are a character in a story or play who opposes the hero (Merriam
Webster). This is especially true in video games, where most of the story is driven by the villain.
The Legend of Zelda, a popular game franchise, has had many villains in its time. Lord Vaati is
the most well written and well developed villain in the Zelda series. He appears in the series
multiple times and never fails to get the player interested. Lord Vaati is one of two recurring
villains in the Legend of Zeldaseries. He is first seen in Four Swords, but we are given more
backstory about him in Minish Cap. In Minish Cap, Vaati is trying to become the most powerful
magician, and tries to take over Hyrule in his quest for more power. He searches for an ancient
artifact known as the Light Force, which would give him ultimate power. In the end he is defeated
by the hero, Link, and is sealed away in a sword to return in later games, (Miyamoto). Every great
