Meiosis Essay
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of meiosis is no small feat. The topic itself delves into the
complex realm of cellular division, genetics, and reproductive processes. To undertake such a
task requires a solid grasp of biological concepts, an ability to articulate these ideas coherently,
and a commitment to thorough research.
Meiosis, being a fundamental process in sexual reproduction, involves a series of intricate steps
that lead to the creation of haploid cells from diploid ones. Describing these stages in a
comprehensive yet concise manner demands not only a deep understanding of the biological
principles involved but also a keen sense of clarity in conveying these ideas to the reader.
The challenge intensifies when delving into the molecular intricacies of meiotic events.
Addressing concepts like crossing over, genetic recombination, and the significance of
homologous chromosomes necessitates a careful balance between scientific accuracy and
accessibility for the audience. Striking this balance is a nuanced task that demands a writer's
ability to translate complex scientific jargon into digestible information without oversimplifying
the subject matter.
Furthermore, a comprehensive meiosis essay should not merely recount the sequential events but
should also explore the broader implications of meiotic processes. This may involve discussing
the role of meiosis in genetic diversity, its significance in evolution, or its connection to various
genetic disorders.
In essence, tackling a "Meiosis Essay" involves navigating a landscape of scientific complexity,
articulating intricate processes with clarity, and weaving a narrative that engages readers without
sacrificing accuracy. While challenging, successfully navigating these challenges can yield a
rewarding essay that not only educates but also captivates the audience.

Mars Journey
It s the year 3012, Jan 2nd. Today we re the third group being sent up into Mars for
a mission to find a colony called Matis. The other two groups that went up to Mars
had something go wrong. Communicating had failed and they never returned. So
being the 3rd group going and not knowing what s going on up there is very nerve
wracking. At least we have a different mission then them which consists of getting
samples of the sand and rocks to see if it s even livable. Maybe this why they never
returned.
The spaceship is ready for us to start boarding. Even though Mars is so far away it
should only take a few hours to get there because technology had made the ship
travels faster than back in 2900 s. My fellow missionaries Brad and Nate ... Show

It could be on the opposite side so we decided to stay together so we don t get lost.
After a few hundred feet we saw the base. We walked the rest of the way there and
went inside. We found a lot of stuff there the place was all trashed as if something
was living there. We explored further and was surprised to find a locked door. We
decided to move on and will report it back to NASA later. We still needed to get our
samples.
On our way back we grabbed our samples that are needed for our second mission. It
was surprisingly harder to find a rock than we thought it would be. We found a cave
that was made of stone, so we ended up getting our rock samples from there. As I
reported to Brad and Nate I got all of the rock samples, I saw something out of the
corner of my eye. I started to yell for them to run back to the base. I don t what the
creature is but all I do know Is it had white sharp teeth and was the color of the sand.
It was as if it was waiting for us to come there.
We were running back to the base and it was chasing us and was catching up to us.
It was slowly getting harder to run. I then realized my oxygen tank is getting low
and it was getting harder to run. Once we got the base I realized my oxygen tank had
a hole in it. I started to freak out that no oxygen was at the base and my spaceship of

The Establishment and Rise of the Jesuits Essay
At the turn of the 1500 s, the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, began. It s
founder, Ignatius Loyola, created this society very distinct from other orders, in its
fanatical obedience to the pope, and requirement of education to be a practitioner in
the Society. The Jesuits played a large role in counter reformation, specifically
Protestantism. The Catholic Church used the Jesuits to reclaim many of the souls
lost to the heresies that abounded during that age. The Jesuits continue to serve the
Church today, especially the Pope, and despite the accusation towards them, they
remain a catholic organization. Loyola designed the society to be a secular
representation of Jesus, taking vows of poverty and obedience, and creating... Show

The more Ignatius learned about Saints, the more he desired to imitate their lives.
His first yearning after healing was to visit the Jerusalem and the rest of Judea. His
first stop however was Barcelona. There Ignatius proceeded to the Benedictine
Shrine of Our Lady of Montserrat, where his conversion really sank in. He left his
sword and knife at the altar and began his life as simple man, giving away all his
clothes.
Continuing on his Journey to Barcelona, Ignatius stopped in a nearby cave to gain
strength for a few days. However Ignatius lingered in this cave outside of Manresa
for ten months. During this time he created the Spiritual Exercises while devoting
his life to prayer, and work for the needy. He gained a new life view during this
time, coming to focus his life on God and finding Him in all things. Ignatius also
suffered through many penances, which left him in his later years with a
problematic stomach. This affected the future rules for his monasteries, for he later
did not require any penances. Finally arriving in Barcelona, Ignatius met Pope
Adrian VI asked permission to visit the Holy Land. Because of the danger, Ignatius
was denied consent. By then Ignatius had developed a new plan: He would become
a priest. Because of lack of education in Latin, Ignatius stayed in Barcelona to learn
Latin, begging his way through those years for food and shelter. He also gained much
notoriety for his lectures on the Gospels. The Spanish
The Models Of Servant Leadership, Transformational...
This paper aims to address an organizational issue and illustrate how the situation
could be resolved by using three different models of leadership. The work
environment will be described, the significance of the issue will be presented and the
resolution will be analyzed using the models of servant leadership, transformational
leadership and transactional leadership.
In 1989 I was employed by a retail bank and enrolled into an accelerated
management training program, the purpose of which was to fast track my progress
to management within 4 years, as opposed to the 15 years typically experienced.
The premise behind the program was that candidates did not need an in depth
knowledge of routine or front office activities, they could get a fleeting experience of
departments, from 2 weeks to 3 months, and progress on to leadership positions
elsewhere in the organization. In my local area there were 45 trainees, all in different
offices and stages of the program. Each trainee was responsible for projecting a
professional attitude, commanding respect from the team, and completing the
Chartered Institute of Bankers examinations.
The issue that developed was quite serious. Over 50% of the trainees did not
complete the process, generally for one of two reasons; commanding respect or
failure to pass the exams. The reason was not apparent for some time, and the bank
leadership created the program knowing that there would be some considerable waste
of money and resources for those that
Everybody s Luck Begins To Run Out Summary
Yes, the climax of the story is as significant as this sounds because Sammy is able
to describe and explain why everybody s luck begins to run out. For example, he
mentions Queenie s blushes when Leagel confronts her and her friends are not
dressing decently. After they leave the store, Sammy tells Leagel that he is quitting
the job because he does not like the way in which Leagel treats the girls. From
these two examples, it proves that everybody s luck begins to run out because the
girls leaves the store unpleasantly and Sammy loses his job. However, the tone of
Sammy s telling the story is informal and it does not match the events due to his
usage of colloquialism. Therefore, his decision to quit the job will let audiences think
he is immature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sammy describes Leagel as a dreary person who is the store manager and teaches
in a Sunday school. Therefore, being a teacher explains why Leagel is strict on
policy and readers can infer that he lives with conformity, which he never breaks
rules. Stokesie is Sammy s friend who is married, has two children, and wants to
become a manager one day in A P. Therefore, when he sees Sammy resigns his job,
he is not likely to follow Sammy s action because he needs to support his family.
This shows Stokesie is more mature than Sammy because he understands what
responsibilities he has. Apart from describing the male employees, Sammy thinks
the young female customers who wear bathing suits know what they want and they
enjoy greater freedom than other customers, which Sammy describes them as a few
houseslaves in pin curlers . From Sammy s point of view, he suggests the
houseslaves customers are most likely housewives because they go to A P with
curlers and that means they are busy taking care of their families and do not have
time to focus on their appearances. Therefore, Sammy s depiction of the house slaves
in pin curlers suggests they do not have control of their

Thomas Aquinas Five Proofs For God s Existence
Thomas Aquinas offered 5 proofs for God s existence (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009).
In Aquinas time, his works were considered very controversial and included some
that were condemned as heretical by the bishop of Paris (Archie, 2006). Since then,
Aquinas has come to be regarded as the greatest theologian and philosopher in the
Church s history (Archie, 2006). Further supporting Aquinas proof, many find
Creative Evolution attractive (Lewis, 2014). This gives a person much of the
emotional comfort of believing in God, and none of the less pleasant consequences
(Lewis, 2014).
The Aristotelian Background includes the argument for the existence of God from the
nature of efficient cause (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). Within this argument lies the
key premise that Aquinas idea is that nothing can be the efficient cause of itself or
own existence (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009)., that nothing can be the cause of its own
existence, which Aquinas expresses the chain of causes of things which come into
existence cannot be infinite (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). Therefore, God is the first
cause because nothing can be the cause of its own existence, or be responsible for its
own existence (Archie, 2006). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the cause of the existence of things, which was not itself caused to exist,
justifies the existence of God (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). Finally, Aquinas makes
the assertion, in which I agree, To take away the cause is to take away the effect ,
holding for an infinite regress of causes since there is no cause taken away (Archie,
Black Boy Character Analysis
Everybody, at one moment or another during their childhood, has wished to gain
the responsibilities of an adult. However, most kids are held back by the childish
part of themselves. They have to go through a coming of age cycle, that once
completed, has matured them and made them evolve from their old self. In Richard
Wright s autobiography Black Boy, we follow a young boy named Richard through
his own journey to become a man, as we see him struggle and overcome obstacles.
The author uses the motifs of hunger, discrimination, and religion to represent his
quest and to emphasize on all the challenges life throws at him. Richard s life is
horribly scarred by the haunting ghost of hunger. During his stay at West Helena,
once Aunt Maggie has left with his new uncle, Richard and his family are left with
no money to buy food. A few weeks after his aunt s departure, hunger [haunts him] so

After the boy s visit to try and convince Richard to become religious, his family
[begs him] so continuously to come to God that it becomes impossible for him to
ignore them without wounding them. He desperately tries to think of some way to
say no without making them hate him (Wright 116). Religion represents the
conflict that flares in his family. He is different from them, and he wants to make
them to understand that without hurting them. When Ella is caught reading a
book to Richard, his grandmother gets furious and tells Richard that books are the
Devil s work [...], [and that he is] going to burn in hell (Wright, 39). For the first
time in his life, Richard has tasted what was life to him, and is determined to get
away from his family s religious beliefs and get himself the life he wants. He
realizes that they can t understand what he is feeling. In this book, religion is used
as a way to represent the tension in his family, and is used to make Richard gain
independence from his

Gender Stereotypes In The Gutting Of Couffignal
Carving Out Gender Stereotypes in The Gutting of Couffignal The Gutting of
Couffignal is a detective fiction short story written by Dashiell Hammett that focuses
on the mystery surrounding the attack on the town of Couffignal by an unknown
gang, and more specifically, the robberies and murders that ensue. Hammett s story is
classified as hard boiled fiction, which Encyclopaedia Britannica defines as a tough,
unsentimental style of American crime writing (The Editors of Encyclopaedia
Britannica). Due to its hard boiled nature, The Gutting of Couffignal mainly focuses
on the issue of large scale crime in the city. However, throughout the story, Hammett
uses gender stereotyping of both the protagonist and the antagonist by the readers...

Unlike the Continental Op, Princess Zhukovski allows some of her most
significant actions to be ruled by her own gender stereotyping. To begin with, the
princess is taken by surprise when the Op announces his suspicions of her. Her
reaction proves that she does not believe he would come to those conclusions, not
only because she is of royal birth but also because she is a woman. Once the
princess realizes she is found out, Zhukovski attempts to gain sympathy from the
Continental Op by expressing the woes of her troublesome past life. She laments,
There was no place for us in world. Outcasts easily become outlaws (Hammett 250).
Zhukovski hopes that her sob story will touch the heart of the Continental Op and
that her portrayal of the damsel in distress will drive the point home, but the
Continental Op is having none of it. Growing in desperation, the princess plays her
last card by seductively offering herself to him, and it appears it is a hand she has
played before. Zhukovski expects even the strongest willed men to bend before her at
the promise of a sexual favor. At the conclusion of the story, the princess employs
both her wealth and feminine wiles to save her own skin, bribing Flippo to kill the
Continental Op for her. Hammett illustrates her tactics when he writes She was
singing, chanting, crooning Italian syllables into his round face (252). Although
Zhukovski successfully manipulates Flippo, it ultimately does her no good; once the

however, is one of the best horror films of the century, in my humble opinion. I
enjoy this movie thoroughly and often watch it in my spare time, so I have plenty of
opinions on every aspect of this movie.
During this entire movie, all the main characters, to me, were all very interesting, as
the two(ish) antagonists are, to this day, traumatizing those who see them without
having seen the movie. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), the protagonist, is a very
hard worker who is blunt and concerned more about education and catching a killer,
as she rejects advances by both Dr. Chilton (Anthony Heald), the asylum owner, and
an entomologist named Pilcher (Paul Lazar) , who ask about her personal life. She
is often enthralled with catching Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine) that even in one of the

Importance Of Beauty
The Importance of Beauty to One s Self
WHAT SHAPES OUR IDEA OF BEAUTY How we interpret beauty is because of
many different things. Social media, celebrities, the internet, and models are some of
the biggest ones. We see all these fit and beautiful people posting on social media or
internet, or posing in a magazine. Advertising beauty is everywhere. On our phones,
billboards, television, and on commercials. There are also personal things that
contribute to our idea of beauty. Our family members, our culture, and us, individuals.
Tobias HГјrter, a Philosopher said, Beauty is at the core of our utmost desires. We
strive for 0fulfillment through beauty. Obviously, that beauty can look different in
various cultures and eras. But the very longing for beauty is a constant.
Eric Jarosinski, a Philologist said, what shapes our idea of beauty is Probably the
same things that shape our idea of everything else. Ideologies, experiences, biology,

Antigone, The Universal And Most Heavily On A Hostile...
While myriad themes that pervade themselves throughout the entirety of Sophocles
Antigone, the universal and most heavily manifested theme is that regarding the
conflict between how individuals choose to make decisions in a society: should one
fulfill religious and familial obligations even when they contract the ruling of the
state, or rather should the government be able to supersede divine right? In the
traditional Greek plays, the familial structure plays a significant role in governing the
actions of characters and causing conflicts, such as in the case of Oedipusmarrying his
mother out of ignorance of familial connection because of divine rule and fate.
Moreover, the role of hospitality and the almost unbreakable bond of family are...

Idealism: The Root of Antigone s Downfall in Sophocles Antigone
Sophocles Antigone centers around a familial feud that develops between Antigone
and Creon when Antigone decides to bury her brother and Creon s niece, Polynices.
While Antigone believes that it is her religious and familial duty to bury her brother,
Creon objects, citing the Theban civil war which took place right before the events of
the play. Adhering to Greek literary tradition, Sophocles ultimately seeks not just to
entertain the audience, but also to teach a moral lesson, in this case about the
consequences that ensue when a tyrannical ruler disobeys divine rule, violate
religious obligation, and attempt to place government over religion. In developing
the plot and conflicts of the text, Sophocles explores three unique but interconnected
themes. Sophocles first considers the role of the individual versus that of the family,
then rule by consensus versus that by a monarchy, and finally obligations to religion
and tradition versus those to the state. The underlying conflict of Antigone, therefore,
is not simply that between Antigone and Creon, but also between the themes

Difference Between A University And Community College...
Our whole lives we have been working up to accomplishing what our goals are after
high school. There are many different options we can choose from, so we can
experience the one that fits the best for us. Some choices are; a university,
community college, trade school, the workforce, taking a year off, and many more.
Depending on personalities, the best option may be different from others. When just
focusing on a university and community college, there are several differences between
the two. Knowing the differences will help make the decision on what to do after
high school. A university is learning at the highest level that offer many programs to
fit the needs for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. In contrast, a community
college, also known as a junior college, is an institution that offers courses for only
the first and second year to grant a degree for your program. Over the years there
has been a controversy on whether it is better to go to a community college or a 4
year university after high school. When deciding what type of school to attend,
students may look at certain aspects such as, statistics of the two schools, cost, class
size, academic quality, flexibility, ability to transfer, and the overall campus life.
WGBH news constructed a survey to find out if the majority of Americans would
recommend a university or community college. One of the questions asked was A
high school senior inherits $200,000. What would be better to do with that money? .
The Liberal Side Of The Immigration Debate
The liberal side of the immigration debate supports legal immigration, increasing the
number of legal immigrants permitted to enter the U.S. each year, and blanket
amnesty for current illegal immigrants. Liberals believe that regardless of how they
came to the U.S., illegal immigrants deserve things like U.S. government financial
aid for college tuition and visas for spouse/children to come to the U.S. They believe
that families shouldn t be separated and that many illegal immigrants do the jobs that
the average American does not want to do (Primeaux). The liberals are also strongly
against laws such as Arizona s SB 1070 and believe that such laws only encourage
racial profiling and are unconstitutional.
Democrats (who are generally more liberal) believe that a comprehensive immigration
reform is essential to fixing our broken immigration system. If a proper reform is put
in place, it will help to continue the tradition of innovation that immigrants have
brought to the American economy, and held to ensure a level playing field for
American workers. President Obama has recently stepped in to try and create a
solution. In November 2014, President Obama announced executive action offering
deportation relief for up to five million undocumented immigrants who are
contributing to their communities. The Presidential order also focuses on cracking
down on illegal immigration at the border and ensuring that immigrants who live here
pay taxes ( Democrats.org. ).

Cameron s Speech On The 2011 Riots
In his speech on the riots, Cameron discounted social conditions such as poverty and
unemployment as reasons for the 2011 riots, and focussed instead on criminality and
morality (Andrews, G. 2014). This essay will compare and contrast this conservative
view of the riots with the radical view. A riot is an occasion involving violence
directed at property, persons or authority. The current understanding of the term riot
dates back to the fourteenth century, when it began to suggest violence and disorder
among the population. By the eighteenth century violence and disorder was on the
rise in England, which resulted in Parliament passing the Riot Act of 1715.

and radical views on the riots. Ian Kinsella described his concern at how the rioters
would be controlled going forward. He described how he pleaded with the rioters

Opposite Ian Kinsella was Cody Lachey, a proud mancunion who admitted to

heart and although he fully supported the looters, he decided against looting.
Kirsty the BBC news reporter pointed out that Cody Lachey had served in the

Should I Be An Avid Concert Goer And All Around Explorer
Growing up as a wanderess, one would think that I would have mastered the art of
clubbing. However, that couldn t be any further than the truth. While I might be an
avid concert goer and all around explorer, why would I ever engage in clubbing? I
don t drink and the thought of standing in a dark room with strangers with no
purpose seemed odd to me. Truthfully, the closest I have ever had to a clublike
experience would be the horrific house party of 12. Needless to say, that was enough
to cement my belief that it would be unenjoyable. Sitting around Friday afternoon
with no plans yet set in stone, suggesting that we go out for girls nightlater that
evening via group chat seemed perfectly normal. Bouncing ideas off each other, I
brought up the idea of wanting to check out a club. Apparently that caught everyone
off guard; instantly the conversation died and I was greeted with several phone calls
asking whether or not I was okay and how long I had left .
Anyone who knows me knows that while I may love concerts I simply view
clubbing as Prom minus chaperones. If you could not tell, I was not fond of the
idea of prom either and so opted out. It is not that I am prude of any sort but what
is the point of spending hours in line just to enter a dark room only to be grinded on
and groped by strangers?
Once I thoroughly reassured everyone that I was in my right state of mind,
preparations for that evening began. Frankly speaking I never realized how much
time and
Osteopathic Analysis
Osteopathic medicine prides itself on being able to recognize the body s ability to
regulate itself and mount its own defences against most pathologic conditions
(DiGiovanna, Schiowitz, Dowling, 2005) Homeostasis can be referred to as the
maintenance of static or constant conditions in the internal environment. (Guyton
Hall, 2000) In conjunction with the Osteopathic principles, the osteopathic profession
aims to regulate the bodies natural function including the use of osteopathic
techniques to maintain the health and homeostasis of patients. This dynamic state of
equilibrium (Marieb, 2015) has narrow limits of which the internal and external
cellular fluids may fluctuate with the aim of maintaining an unchanged state.

This regulation is achieved via the stimulus (for example a reduced body
temperature) signalling a receptor cell of the body, which signals the control centre
hypothalamus; which determines the set point of the body temperature variable and
can determine an adequate response. An increased production of heat, would respond
to this output via increasing the rate of which some of the bodies energy supplies;
ATP and glucose are metabolised to generate body heat and maintain homeostasis
within the body via shivering and other mechanisms to generate heat and bring the
body back to its ideal
Dr. Dre s Marketing Strategy
In terms of challenges, Beats have been applauded for their great marketing strategy,
but criticized actually for the quality of their product and the tangible benefits that it
provides. If Beats competitors were able to capitalize better on marketing strategies
similar to Beats, but offering superior product (such as Bose headphones), they are
going to be able to compete or overtake Beats. In the long term, Beats might face
challenges expanding outside the United States. The specific marketingstrategy they
pursued in that market, capitalizing on the celebrities advertising and strong graphic
presence in social media will need to be redefined for specific markets. Right now,
Beats are basically still unknown in Europe.
b.)Dr. Dre should expand its product portfolio in audio industry including as
portable and wireless speakers, co branded smart phones or music streaming
services. Dr. Dre could expand by forming by allying itself with companies that
provide any audio features, including laptops, cars, tablets. In other words, Dr. Dre
should align itself with any company produces sound, creating the association of
good quality sound, no matter where it coming from, laptop, car or headphones, with
Beats.
While the streaming music industry is very competitive right now, Dr. Dre has points
of difference that allow him and his products to stand out. The brand had been already
succeeding thanks to the strong brand recognition and association due to celebrities
endorsements,
College Dropout Papers
College Dropouts throughout the U.S.
There are many reasons why over the years the United States has experienced a
high college dropout rate among college students. The dropout rate results in
unqualified and poorly skilled workers who eventually apply for low paying jobs and
then realize the importance of a college degree. College dropout rates throughout the
U.S. are caused by several reasons, including, lack of finance, lack of academic
readiness, and stress. Many students have aspirations about attending the college
of their dreams, but many people lack financial support and are not able to go
because of high tuition payments, such as housing, and other college expenses.
U.S. Student Loans Debt Statistics for 2017 indicate that the cost of attending
college is becoming a growing burden for a huge portion of Americans. (Student
Loan Hero). Students are left with the option of dropping and leaving school. Even
after receiving some financial support, such as scholarships and grants, students
have limited amount of money to pay off their expenses. At the start of their
college career, students apply for the colleges they would like to go to, and many
forget about the financial decision that is required to pay for college. A 2010 study
on more than 200,000 freshmen at four year colleges, more students rated
themselves as below average in emotional health than ever before. The financial
stress of worrying about their college loans and whether they ll find a job after
college and the day to day stress of making decisions for themselves in all aspects
of their lives. (Allianz). Unfortunately, freshman students are the main group of
college students that go through financial conflicts, leading to stress about how to
pay for college. Some students choose to work their way through college. Others
decide they d rather be making money working full time than pursuing a costly
degree. Still others become discouraged at the prospect of incurring loan debt
(College View). According to Public Agenda, Work is the top reason young adults
give for not returning to college once they leave. More than a third (36 percent) of
those who left school say that even if they had a grant that fully paid for tuition
Chris Murray Chapter Summaries
As an individual who is obsessed with medicine this book keep me mesmerized
due to the brilliant and distinct new way, Chris Murray looked at the world s
health problems by formulating the Global Burden of Disease Study. Why had I
not heard of this ingenious scientific study before I kept asking myself as I
indulged in the book s abundant supply of facts, figures, and Murray s distinct
calculations that are used in the Study? One of the most interesting aspects of the
study to me is the number of disability adjusted life years or DALYs which entails
taking the quality years a person lost due to a disability (YLDs) from the years
they actually lived ending up with how many years a person lived a healthy life.
Therefore, this is just a simplified version of how the book explains it but being
disabled myself this concept blew my mind even though it is a simple calculation I
felt as if Murray understood not being able to live life to its fullest. Whereas, Murray
has endless energy doing everything at an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, what I am trying to say is this book contains so much critical
information on so many different levels that it is essential for each person to read it
themselves. Whereas learning which diseases were the most prevalent in different
countries around the world and how they are changing as time passes is a lot more
interesting than you might assume at first. There is one question that was never
fully answered and it has been on my mind since finishing the book. Who and how
much is this crucial information being used? This study upset many important
organizations and groups around the world but I hope minds are changed and the
Global Burden of Disease study is put into use so lives of people around the world
can be of higher
Marbles Research Paper
Marbles are small round glass toys. They are also a great tool in recognizing the
little irritations in life and working the forgiveness muscles. Fill up a container of
marbles. It should probably be a large one in the beginning. You may not use them
all, but you do not want to run out. When something irritates you or makes you
angry, upset with a situation or person, move one of the marbles to your pocket.
The marbles must stay in your pocket until you are ready to do your evening
exercise just before bed. Okay, lets assume you are home now with your pockets
full of marbles. Take out one marble at a time. See if you can remember the reason
for that marble, it doesn t have to be the exact one. Now, is it worth carrying this

William Of The Battle Of Hastings
In 1066, King Harold and Anglo Saxon Europe were over ruled by William of
Normandy in the Battle of Hastings. William became known as The Conquerer and
was crowned King of England on December the 25th, 1066. The incipient ruler then
utilised the Feudal System as a governmental and social hierarchy to maintain power
over the country. He did so through paying his people fiefs (pieces of land) in return
for their allegiance. Following the end of King Harold s reign, England became a
Church State called Christendom. This meant that the secular hierarchy (Feudalism)
was joined by an ecclesiastical one (the Church). Thought to be the superintendent
of fortuity and fate, God sat at the top of both. This gifted Popes, who alongside
Kings, were supposedly in equivalent control over England, so that they could grow
stronger than Kings between 1100 (12th Century) and 1200 (13th Century),
regaining their power following the Great Schism. This was the result of Investiture
Conflict over who employed the clergy. They could then Preach sermons to the
community of nearly 100% Christians, and some even appointed new rulers. Sadly,
like previous Kings (who appointed family as Church clergy), some Popes became
corrupt and capitalised their power. They prevaricated about what the Bible
expressed, to receive more money from the attendants of the Sunday mass. This was
the majority of people, known as the Laity. Monks and Nuns were part of the Laity,
only they lived their entire
Deliquency And Juvenile Delinquency
Introduction
An estimated 70% of juveniles that are in the juvenile system have an elementary
academic achievement level, and have learning disabilities. [1]. Poor school
performance, skipping school, and dropping out at a young age are all connected to
delinquency. There was an increase in the rates of juvenile delinquency after
dropping out from school [2]. Juveniles who go to school consistently and have a
strong academic performance, ideally go on to college and have a successful career
and bright future [1]. There seems to be a connection between academic performance
and delinquency. It seems that young people with a lower academic performance are
more delinquent than young people with a higher academic performance [3,4].

What is linking academic performance and delinquency together, and what kind of
association do they have with each other, is it negative or positive?
Studies suggest that improving educational performance and behavior will more than
likely result in positive outcomes. It also suggests that coming up with innovative
educational strategies are the most effective solution to improve delinquency and
academic performance [2]. Educational programs intended to address delinquency
and poor academic performance that teaches self control and social class, will
probably be more successful in improving education outcomes for juvenile
delinquents [2][7]. The purpose of this study is to find the link between academic
performance and delinquency, and find what kind of association they have with each
other.
Methodology The participants for this study will include 200 juvenile delinquents
that will be recruited from juvenile detention centers in New York, through a
process of stratified sampling. Stratified sampling allows us to select participants
from different areas of New York. To be eligible for this study, participants have to
meet these requirements, 1) ages 14 17; 2) In juvenile detention; 3) able to speak and
read in English. Participants were excluded from the study if they were, 1) Under the
age of 14; 2) Over the age of 17; 3) Not in juvenile
Milkmaid Analysis Essay
The Milkmaid, painted by Johannes Vermeer, shows a woman working in the
corner of, what looks like, a kitchen. There is a large window that starts at the top
and ends about halfway down the wall that the woman is facing. To the right of the
window, there is a small black frame near the top of the wall and a woven basket
hanging under it. On the other wall, there is a metal basket with a long handle
hanging a little behind and below the woven basket. The walls are a creamy, off white

Johannes Vermeer was born in Delft in 1632 and died in Delft in 1675. Vermeer
was never famously recognized during his life, like most artists, and became more
known after his death. There are just over 30 paintings of his that are well known
today ( Vermeer Gallery ). The Milkmaid was painted by Vermeer in 1657 58 ( The
Milkmaid ). This time period was known as the Dutch Golden Age. During this time,
women carrying out domestic roles was honorable. The woman in this painting is
most likely a kitchen maid who is making a type of bread porridge with leftover
bread and milk (milkmaids milk the cows, kitchen maids worked inside). The
small wooden box on the floor in the painting is a foot heater, but was sometimes
used by kitchen maids to heat other places as well. This added on to Vermeer s
previous sexual aspects to the image of a kitchen maids in his paintings (Liedtke).
When Vermeer painted The Milkmaid, he was combining the styles of other artists
with observation and polished artistic taste. For example, Vermeer s realistic aspect
to the painting was influenced by Gerrit Dou s detailed realism
The Mexican Revolution
Hernandez 1 Pancho villa was a man who not only was a legend. He was a
revolutionary hero, military leader, and a fugitive. Many people know him as the
person who fought for the rights of the poor. He was there to support his kind and
protect them from what they call the rich people. That s how the Mexican revolution
began. Before he was known as Francisco Villa , he was Jose Doroteo Arango
Arambula, born June 5, 1878 in San Juan Del Rio, Durango, Chihuahua, Mexico. He
changed his name because in his town he had killed a man who almost raped his
younger sister. He had no choice but to escape. Later in his life he was recruited as
commander in chief who led 28 men to the revolution. From then on he was a
military leader who had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He then fled his hometown because he couldn t bare what had happened to his

a small town in Durango. When he got there during the time that he was he
became an outlaw member. A band of people, who was created and led by Ignacio
Parra one of the bandits best known in that town. In 1903 Pancho villa killed an
army officer and then stole the officer s horse. So that is also why he no longer had
the name of Jose Doroteo Arango. In 1910, the Mexican revolution began. As it
later on spread he joined Madero and his troops. They won the first battle that took
place in Ciudad Juarez in 1911. It was the time where peasants were frustrated due
to economic problems and being mistreated by landowners. In that time of the
Mexican Revolution Pancho Villa was 32 years old and he led twenty eight men
into the revolution who only wanted the title of victory. They were going to do just
about anything to earn that title. Villa was best known as one of the best
gunfighters in the Mexican revolution. Everyone looked up to his ways; they were
amazed at how he had so much passion for what he was fighting for. He never
backed down he couldn t he knew he was stronger. Pancho Villa knew that the
people counted on him and his support. In Mexican history he was an idol especially
to those of low economic stability. To people in the United States it was the other
way around.
Using Parallel Processing For Large Scale Database Analysis
Modern Data Centers always interested in the new technology for various web
search analysis, web log, bigdata analysis, social networking, so in this tasks new
technology implemented using parallel processing for large scale database analysis,
so the MapReduce is one of new technology to get amounts of data, perform massive
computation, and extract critical knowledge out of big data for business intelligence,
proper analysis of large scale of datasets, it requires accurate input outputcapacity
from the large server systems to perform and analyze weblog data which is derived
from two steps called mapping and reducing. Between these two steps, MapReduce
requires a on important phase called shuffling phase which exchange the intermediate
data. So at the point of data shuffling, by physically changing the location(moving)
segments of intermediate data across disks, causes major I/O contention and generate
the Input/Output problem such as large power consumption, high heat generation
which accounts for a large portion of the operating cost of data centers in analyzing
such big data. So in this synopsis we introduce the new virtual shuffling approach to
enable well organized data movement and reduce I/O problem for MapReduce
shuffling, thereby reducing power consumption and conserving energy. Virtual
shuffling is achieved through a combination of three techniques including a three
level segment table, near demand merging, and dynamic and balanced merging
subtrees. Our
My Identity, Status And My Worldview
Different personality, believes, identity and behavior makes a person unique.
Identity is one s self representation in the world. Who I am, really makes up my
identity. Personal traits make me appear towards the world. My worldview
incorporates of different concepts and suppositions. It helps to decode my issues in
my life. As I continue to evolve, my identity, status and my worldview shape me.
My family and my faith status makes my life worthwhile. It s the love and
relationship that keeps me bounded together with my family. Without a family I
am absolutely nothing because they have helped me through hard times and
supported me. As being the oldest child of the family I was always appreciated and
praised for doing remarkable things in my daily life. In grade 8, I had final exams
and during that period of time I was sick with high fever. I was not in a state to
prepare for the exams which caused hopelessness and stress, although my parents
supported me and encouraged me to write the exam on the bases of the things I
have learned the entire year. Their brace made me successful and I got straight A s
on the exams. Family status is as important in life as eating food on regular bases.
My family is always ready to support and sacrifice their happiness for me. They
complete my world, thus it makes me confined to my family status. In addition to
family status, which makes up most of my status and identity is my faith status. Inner
faith makes me enthusiastic towards life. Just the
Solar Energy Advantages
Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using a range of
ever evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy,
solar architecture, molten salt power plants and artificial photosynthesis. It is an
important source of renewable energy and its technologies are broadly characterized
as either passive solar or active solar depending on how they capture and distribute
solar energyor convert it into solar power. Active solar techniques include the use of
photovoltaic systems, concentrated solar power and solar water heating to harness
the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting
materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing
spaces that naturally circulate air. The large magnitude of solar energy available
makes it a highly appealing source of electricity. The United Nations Development
Programme in its 2000 World Energy Assessment found that the annual potential of
solar energy was 1,575 49,837 exajoules . This is several times larger than the total
world energy consumption, which was 559.8 EJ in 2012. In 2011, the International
Energy Agency said that the development of affordable, inexhaustible and clean solar
energy technologies will have huge longer term benefits. It will increase countries
energy security through reliance on an indigenous, inexhaustible and mostly import
independent resource, enhance sustainability, reduce

Around 1,200 years ago, the pound sterling was created. Serving Great Britain and
its territories to this present day, it is one of the most traded currencies in the

at the turn of the millennium. In 2008, a new paradigm, Bitcoin, reared its head into
the world economy. Bitcoin sets itself apart from the aforementioned currencies
because it doesn t exist; it is one of many digital currencies, albeit the most popular

Labor Division
Preindustrial economies encompasses hunter and gather, agricultural, and agrarian
societies. The labors in this type of society are involved in primary sector
production which is the removal of natural and raw resources from the
environment. These resources are used with little or no processing. Most goods in
hunter and gather societies are made by family members in small quantities in
order to take care of their basic needs. Labor division is based on age and gender.
As people in these societies become skilled at raising animals and cultivating their
own food, they are able to produce surplus goods. In the case of agricultural and
rural societies, family life is separate from the economy. The production process is
more complex and the resulting buildup of surplus allows some people within that
society to concentrate on other endeavors beyond producing food. Food production
is the main focus in an agrarian society, however, labors have a greater array of
dedicated responsibilities, such as warriors who aid in the protection of the surplus
goods.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of economy relies on new methods of energy production such as electricity,
steam, and gasoline as well as the latest technology. This results in an increase in
factories as the main method of goods production. Labor division is bureaucratically
structured. Tasks are specialized and repetitive, and laborers work separately on
machines. Laborers are involved in secondary sector production which is the process
of turning raw materials into finished goods. For example, lumberjacks felled and
mill trees, turning them into lumber; carpenters then convert the lumber into
furniture or houses. A greater surplus brought on by mass production benefits some,
but not all in this type of
The Gas Leak Tragedy Of Bhopal
The Gas Leak Tragedy of Bhopal, India is considered the worst industrial disaster in
history. Originally, the Bhopal pesticide plants were to be some of the best and most
beautiful plants which would have huge production capabilities. However, in 1984
there was a massive leak of methyl isocyanate (MIC) which spread out to local
communities and has negatively affected the health of hundreds of thousands of
people. The reason why the pesticideplant was created was for the Green Revolution
in the 1960 s. Traditional farming methods in India were changing to high yield seed
varieties which needed more fertilizers and pesticides (Eckerman, 2005), to meet the
increasing food demand. Pesticide production was originally sourced in Europe,
however because of new knowledge and protests from environmental activists, it
became restricted. (Eckerman, 2005, pg. 24). Consequently, pesticide production was
outsourced to India because of fewer regulations and cheaper labor (Kovel, 2002).
The pesticide that the Bhopalplants created was Carbaryl, and this pesticide serves as
a neurotoxin that controls pests such as moths, beetles, ants, mosquitoes, ticks and
cockroaches (National Pesticide Information Center, 2003). The chemicals inside the
pesticide are a Cholinesterase Inhibitor, which inhibits the cholinesterase enzyme
from degrading acetylcholin, eventually leading to interference in the host s nervous
system (Gilbert, 2014, В¶ 3).

Today s Day And Age Sexuality And The Advertising Market
~~Forces of Nature: Research In today s day and age where sexuality and the need
to be thin has become prominent in both fashion and the advertising market, it is
important to create product for everyone in mind. The purpose of Forces of Nature s
research is to determine if there is a market in producing clothingthat is made with
the everyday girl in mind. We do know that the teen market is a force all on its
own, raking in over $1.76 billion dollars in the year 2001. As more and more
children and teens are taking on the responsibility of choosing their clothes, shoes
and cosmetics, they are looking for items that suit them in a more sophisticated
manner at a price that fits their budget (Henson, 2002). The company needs to make
sure that we are not producing items that fit an adult lifestyle more than a teen one.
While there is a tendency to view them as little adults it does not work this way in
their mind. They have their own likes and dislikes and definitely do not wanta product
that their mother thinks is cool. Just like with the cosmetic industry, forces of nature
wants to give teenage girls styles the fit their personalities and their pocketbook
(Marchie, 2001). One way of doing this is to go into the school setting, as FIM did
for Brylcreem s hair gel. They brought the product to the children and were able to
gather first hand information on what the student s liked and disliked about the
product. This
Contiki Speech

Good morning everyone today I am going to talk to you about how Contiki was
created and how the company became a success. Contiki began from John s own
desire to see Europe cheaply. He is the man who was behind all the successes of
Contiki and came up with the idea of this tour company. To make this happen, there
were guides that he went through to help establish this tourism business. I will also
talk to you about how he grows the business and make it a success and of course the
traps to watch out when running a business.

One of the very important techniques that I learned on this book was the power of
word of mouth. Basically when a group young adults went for a trip, they makes sure
that everyone will have an awesome trip and when they came back they will tell
their friends and relatives about their experience. They will spread the word on
how amazing the experience they had on the trip. They will talk about what
attractions they ve seen or where they went in Europe or what activities they did.
At this point, when other people heard about their great feedback for the trip, it
will give a huge interest to other people. For me personally, if my friend went to
that trip and told me that she had a really great time on the trip, I would definitely
book on that trip too if I want to travel. It will give me an interest and it shows that
I can trust the company because they had a really great customer feedback.
Another thing is to treat the passenger s complaints seriously no matter how big or
small it is because you ll never know what could happen and it could possibly
affect the whole company. Make sure you identify and diffuse any issue before it
becomes a major. Because if you didn t solve the problem, it doesn t only affect the
company but also the customer s loyalty and trust which is very important for a
business. When you make sure that you satisfied their needs even though you made
a mistake, you can solve it earlier or later before it gets

Dystonic Reaction
Dystonic Reaction A dystonic reaction is generally a side effect to a particular
medication. Often the medications are used to treat psychological or psychiatric
conditions. They often come from other common medications such as antihistamines,
cimetidine, doxepin, and bromocriptine. These reactions occur when the normal
patterns of our nerve receptors are upset by a particular medication and the
imbalance causes multiple types of muscle spasm. This not a drug allergy. It is your
own particular response to the particular medication you have taken. DIAGNOSIS
This diagnosis (learning what is wrong) is made by the obvious symptoms (problems)
of contraction of multiple muscles in the body and the usual rapid response to

Network Security And The Internet

it be for a business, the military, or even a private computer. With the introduction of
the internet, security became a major concern and it s only though a brief look recap
on the history of security that we are allowed a better understanding of the emergence
of the new technology that is released for the private and public sector. As mentioned
earlier, the creation of the Internetallowed for a plethora of new threats. Despite the
constant threats of malware and other annoyances, the architecture of the internet,
when modified can reduce the possible attacks that can be sent across the network.
Knowing the attack methods, allows for the appropriate security to emerge. Many
businesses secure themselves from the internet by means of firewalls and encryption
mechanisms. The businesses create an intranet to remain connected to the internet
but secured from possible threats. Several key events contributed to the birth and
evolution of computer and network security. Back during the first World War, the
Allied army was having trouble deciphering secret German messages, while their
own became heavily compromised. However, Polish cryptographers created an
enigma machine in 1918 that converted plain messages to encrypted text. In 1930,
Alan Turing, a mathematician, broke the code for the Enigma. Securing
communications was essential in World War II. In the 1960s, the term hacker is

Equipment Materials And Methods Used
IV. MATERIALS AND METHODS USED 1. Tracing the DNS traffic From an
operational point of view, it has to be able to retrieve both online and offline DNS
packet captures. Thus, it can be used as an online monitoring tool, but can also be
applied as an offline incident handling tool. The first component is a passive DNS
sensor that is a simple packet capturer filtering DNS related traffic. This sensor
should be placed between the recursive DNS server and the upstream DNS servers
and its purpose is to listen for DNS replies, filter data and feed the retrieved
information into the centralized storage which is here a relational database system.
This sounds simple in theory, but in practice this tends to be more complex. Many
DNS replies are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The assumptions regarding this behavior are that Google somehow uses this trick
to limit the impact of cache poisoning, to infer the origin of the answers or even to
encode some data back from the original query of the user. Data that is stored can
be analyzed by both, a human operator using a Web based interface or
automatically be mined by a Data Mining application. 2. Considerations of pDNS
privacy impact DNS information or requests for it are considered personally
identifiable information (PII). If so the privacy implications of collecting it would
be significantly affected. Before discussing DNS as PII, PII must be defined. This
is not an easy task, and no authoritative definition yet exists. This section examines
how well the different aspects of the DNS exchange are described by the PII
definitions and possible legal concerns regarding pDNS besides PII. DNS queries,
DNS messages positive answers, negative answers, and IP addresses of the parties
to the communication. First, with respect to DNS queries, it is unlikely that any
part of the end user s name or identification number would be directly revealed
absent willful user disclosure the end user s activities, which would be considered a
type of information that falls under the NIST Special Publication s definition of PII.
In this manner, queries may fall under some international definitions of PII, even
being considered sensitive information in some instances. This would only be the
case if the queries
What Is The Importance Of Herodotus Actions
Darius was born as the eldest of five sons to a leading figure of power in Persia
named Hystaspes. Either Cyrus or his son and successor Cambyses appointed
Hystaspes as governor of Parthia. Briant says that the Behistun text shows that he
(Darius) held a high military command in Parthia at the time. We also know that he
accompanied Cambyses on his Egyptian expedition, since Herodotus places him there
in a well known story. Herodotus states that at this time Darius not yet of any
particular importance, an evaluation that only makes sense in contrast to his position
as king, his position when Herodotus first introduces him in the course of his
narrative. Herodotus wrote that after a dream that seemed to predict Darius reign,

On the fourteenth day of the month Viyaxana [11 March 522 B.C.E] did he rebel. He
lied to the people, saying: I am Smerdis, the son of Cyrus, the brother of Cambyses.
Then were all the people in revolt, and from Cambyses they went over unto him, both
Persia and Media, and the other provinces. He seized the kingdom [...]. Afterwards,
Cambyses died of natural causes. Briant pointed out that the ancient sources contain
major contradictions regarding the identity of Gaumata/Smerdis, and using them for
reconstructing the conditions surrounding the removal of Smerdis and the coming to
power of Darius is correspondingly complicated. According to Herodotus, it was
Otanes who initiated a conspiracy, being the first person to suspect that he (Gaumata
/Smerdis) was not the son of Cyrus but an impostor. Otanes chose Intaphernes,
Gobryas, Megabyzus, Aspathines, and Hydranes. Darius was a man of great
prominence and popularity. When Darius arrived on the scene from Persia....it was
decided to add him to the number. They immediately began to hold secret
consultations for the purpose of determining how it was best to proceed, first binding
themselves by the most solemn oaths never to betray one another, however their
undertaking might end. Darius told them that he had himself discovered the
imposture and usurpation of Smerdis, and that he had come from Persia for the
Big Data Technology And Services Essay
Big Data Technology and services Logistics 1.0 What Big Data is, and the
difference between Online and Offline Big Data in Logistics 1.1 Introduction Big
data is not just about having large amounts of data, but it also refers to the
complexity of data sets fetched from multiple sources, where traditional data
processing methods cannot be sufficient to process the data, and thus requires
advanced computing tools and technologies which can be acquired by using
distributed processing and cloud technology. In general, Big data excels in three
areas: Volume, Variety and Velocity. Volume and Variety is when you are dealing
with a huge quantity of data, in all types of forms and all types of sources. Velocity
is about additional capabilities offered by distributed processing, which drastically
accelerates the computing speed. But, when it comes to logistics, Big data is more
than just 3Vs. It goes beyond and presents real world use cases, revealing what is
happening now and what could possibly happen in the future. Big data is often
unstructured, so you definitely need advance mechanism for interpreting the data.
The major challenges faced are data analysing, capturing, curating, storing,
searching, querying, updating, sharing, transferring, visualising and security. As of
2012, the size of Big data ranges from a few terabytes to dozens of petabytes. 1.2

ВЁ Your children need your presence more than your presentsВЁ Jesse Jackson. In
the story ВЁ The Giving Tree ВЁ by Shel Silverstein, it shows the relationship
between a boy and a tree. The tree relates to a parent figure towards the boy, and the
boy relates to a child. It also showcases the difference between selflessness and
selfishness. The first example of selfishness and selflessness is when the boy kept
demanding for items from the tree, and the tree simply giving to the boy. The tree and
the boyВґs relationship are similar to a child and their parent. A parent is constantly
giving and caring for their children. A child also needs and wants from their
caretakers. And as the boy grew older he kept asking from the tree, the more
Alien Invasions In The Iron Giant
Imagine waking up on a seemingly normal morning to the sound of screams coming
from the streets, and the unsettling feeling of dread lingering in the air. Harsh, bright
lights shine through your window and local news stations report a startling
disturbances taking place throughout the entire town. It is then that you realize there
has been an alien invasion of Earth. This strange situation leads humans to pose the
following question: what is the appropriate response to an alien invasion? People
often question the legitimacy of extraterrestrial life, but, if the earth does encounter
life forces from another world, how should people react? In the science fictiongenre,
alien invasions are a recurrent theme, but, although they may be entertaining,... Show

One significant factor to consider is the alien s technological advancements, which
are likely much greater than ours. Further, it is important to remember that these
organisms probably won t share many similarities with us physically or mentally.
They may not share our senses of sight, hearing, or touch, and they could use some
form of communication that is currently inconceivable to us. No matter what the
traits of these aliens may be, history has shown that just because something may not
look or act the same as us, does not mean they need to be a threat to us. It may be
challenging to control the media or to calm the public, but, no matter the danger
potential of the aliens, this may be one of the highest priorities. History has also
shown us that propaganda and fear can be extremely powerful in influencing the
behavior of the public. This has the opportunity to result in tragedy, but it would be
easily controlled by calming the media. Of course, the alien invasion should be
handled with heavy precaution, and officials should be mindful as they consider the
full magnitude of possibilities when it comes to interactions with unknown life

The diagram on Figure 3 1 demonstrates a tree like structure or web with several
different branches going in multiple directions. The top of the tree lists the three
domains of life and specific kingdoms or groups within each domain. These groups
are put together because they contain similar characteristics that define them to a
specific domain. In the middle of the figure there are many arrows intertwining
signifying that each of the groups within the domain are somehow related to each
other and may share some of the characteristics from another domain. Finally, the
bottom of the structure demonstrates the cut off web that arose from the same
direction, proposing they each are derived from a common ancestor. The cladogram is

continues, the characteristics get complex but could still remain similar to the
domain before. In this structure, there is clear unique characteristics that were not
derived and stayed distinct to that domain, therefore explaining how they are each

Slate Relief Palette Of King Narmer
1. The Egyptians were extremely religious, and their belief in life after death was
an important part of their culture. They believed that, in order for the spirit to live
on, the dead person s body had to be preserved, or mummified, and buried along
with supplies of food and drink, tools and utensils, valued possessions all the things
the person had needed or enjoyed on earth. The higher the person s station in life, the
more extensive the preparations for the afterlife. Kings and other weathly persons
had elaborate tombs built. Sculptures and wall paintings in the tombs were also
created for use in the next life.
For more than 2000 years, egypt was one of the richest and most civilized lands in
the ancient world. Much of what we know about this great civilization has been
learned from its art and architecture. In particular, the ruins of tombs and temples
have provided a valuable record of Egyptian life. ... Show more content on

The slate relief Palette of King Narmer illustrates many formal and iconographic
conventions Egyptian artists employed for the next 2500 years; primary among these
is the Egyptian preference for descriptive rather than optical representation. The
conventional figures offer a composite view of the human body, with the ruler rigid
and formal, while lesser humans display greater movement and a variety of poses.
The palette s narrative imagery is composed in registers without regard for three
dimensional space or setting. Hieroglyphic text explains the palette s subject, which

Choosing A Pet Should Never Be A Snap Decision
Choosing a pet should never be a snap decision; as one of the airmen in my old
squadron learned after he bought a potbellied pig. The airmen come into the
section with a bandage across his nose and bruises below his eyes. When I asked
him what happened, he proceeded to tell me about his morning. His pig was an
incredibly busy little pig during the night, he had piled all the area rugs from the
house into the hallway, which had been laid out to prevent the pig from sliding on
the laminate floor, the next morning the pig stood by his dish and squealed like he
was in trouble or dying. The airmen came running down the hallway in a half asleep
daze, tripping over the pile of area rugs landing on his face. The airmen said the pig
stopped squealing and walked up to the him and sat down, as if to say I m hungry!
The airmen said he looked at the pig and said Why did I pay $2300 for you; all you
are is a miserable little turd. I think, I should have stuck with a dog. Both dogs and
pigs can make a great pet, but the proper selection rests on the owner s lifestyle,
finances, and living arrangements.
Dogs can make minimal impact on an owner s lifestyle, once trained, they can be
very obedient and shows an unconditional love for their owner, such as greeting
them at the door. Most can be left for the day without worry as to what they are
going to do while you are gone. Then, if you travel and can t take them with you,
they can be boarded at a kennel for a week or two. Even though,
Analysis Of Primo Levi s The Gray Zone
Primo Levi s book, Survival in Auschwitz, examines how a select few managed to
survive the inhumane and brutal treatment of the Jews in Auschwitz. The well
known Italian Holocaust survivor, Primo Levi was only 24 years old, when he was
captured and taken to a detention camp in Fossoli, before spending eleven months in
Auschwitz. He, like so many other innocent Jews, was sent to die in the death camp
but with a little bit luck and resourcefulness, he survived. In his essay, The Gray
Zone Levi, writes privileged prisoners were a minority within the Lager [camp]
population; nevertheless they represent a potent majority among survivors (The Gray
Zone,117), where he examines the middle ground between Nazi soldiers and the
Jewish prisoners.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone in the Lager is responsible for oneself, and no one could afford to help his
or her neighbor because one act of kindness could get you killed. Levi shares the
story of Alfred L, a successful young engineer, arrested and sent to Auschwitz. In
his own country, L. was the director of an important factory chemical product and
its name was (and is) well known in industrial circles throughout Europe (Levi 93).
Primo Levi wants to make it clear to the reader that, for Alfred to reach the highest
position of director and be able to survive the camps he had to be determined,
motivated and intelligent. According to the author, Alfred always tried to separate
himself from the rest of the Häftling and made an effort to keep himself clean and
put together. He also made it a priority to always treat others with kindness and
respect. Alfred did not give up hope like so many others, in the camps, he adapted
to his situation the best way he could. He separated himself from the other
prisoners and made himself known. He carried himself with discipline and respect,
which made him an asset to the Nazis. By acting differently than the other prisoners,
Alfred was able to get a better job as the technical head of the Chemical Kommando.
According to Levi ... L. was able to earn all this show of prosperity with incredible
tenacity, paying for his acquisitions

The French Art Nouveau Movement And The
International...
Throughout history, the motifs and characteristics of graphic design have changed
tremendously. The unique qualities of poster designs from the French Art Nouveau
movement and the International Typographic Style both reflect their social
environments at the time. Henri de Toulouse Lautrec s La Goulue au Moulin Rouge
and Alphonse Mucha s Monaco Monte Carlo demonstrate the techniques and qualities
of the Art Nouveauera, while Josef MГјller Brockmann s Der Film and Neue Grafik
/ New Graphic Design / Graphisme actuel, no. 2 by Carlo L. Vivarelli demonstrate the
techniques and qualities of the International Typographic Style.
La Goulue au Moulin Rouge, a color lithograph created in 1891 by the French artist
Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, is a predominant design work which reflects the art of
the French Art Nouveau. Toulouse Lautrec was a prolific artist who created a great
number of paintings, drawings, etchings, lithographs, posters, and illustrations for
various newspapers (Funk Wagnalls). Toulouse Lautrec had flirted with
Impressionism in his adolescent works, absorbed the lessons of the Japanese
woodblock Ukiyo e prints and developed an immediately recognizable style with its
crisp articulation of form, abrupt truncations of compositional structures and vivid
colors used as much for emotional impact as for their descriptive value (Grishin 64).
One piece that specifically exemplifies those characteristics would be his poster, La
Goulue au Moulin Rouge. The poster was
Much Ado About Nothing Foil Character
1. CHARACTER Explain what FOIL characters are. Name at least two pairs from
the play. Foil characters are characters with opposite personalities that complement
each other in a story. For instance, Beatrice and Don John have very different
dispositions: Beatrice laughs and teases good naturedly, but Don John remains quiet
and schemes for evil. Beatrice also contrasts with Hero, her cousin. Hero obeys her
father meekly, but Beatrice loudly declares her desire for independence. The fact that
these pairs are so unalike helps the reader to better understand and appreciate their
natures. 2. SETTING Consider how the play would be different if it were set in
modern day times. What significant things would change? How would main events
potentially be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The climactic turning point begins in Act 3, when Benedick and Beatrice decide
to love each other. Then Don John and Borachio deceive Claudio and Don Pedro,
making them believe that Hero has been immoral. Finally, the climax happens
when Claudio publically denounces Hero at the altar in Act 4. 4. THEME Choose
a theme from the play and expand on its personal, spiritual, and/or cultural
relevance. True love believes the best and holds fast to the truth. In Much Ado
About Nothing, a lot of drama was wasted on believing unproved, disparaging
rumors. Even today, people read the news, social media, and popular magazines and
quickly believe their slanders of the government, Christians, and other people.
Society doubts the truth of Christ and trusts the lies of the world. However, God
calls Christians to love others by believing the best about them. When Claudio found
out that Hero might be unfaithful, instead of damaging her reputation by publically
shaming her, he should have asked her about it. Likewise, when a believer hears a
rumor about another person, he or she should ask that person if the rumor is true or
not. That would save a great deal of heartache and
Genetically Modified Organisms And Stem-Food Report
With reference to a recent news report analyse how genetically modified products are
created and evaluate the use of stem cells to combat disease.
Genetic modification is the manipulation of DNA in an organism. It involves
extracting a gene from one organism then inserting it into another organism that is
usually of a different species but can be the same. The genes can also be
manufactured instead of being extracted from the organism. Genetic modification
can be done to plants, animals and even food. Genetically modified products can
benefit humans in many ways such as genetically modified plants can be used to
reduce vitamin deficiency (CGP A2 Level Biology Revision Guide, 2009).
In 2005, UK scientists developed a new strain of ... Show more content on

Lastly, the agrobacterium tumefaciens insert the genes into the plant cells DNA
which then creates transformed rice plant cells. Now the rice plant cells grow on a
selective medium. Only the transformed rice plants will be able to grow due to them
containing the marker gene which is needed to grow on this medium (CGP A2 Level
Biology Revision Guide, 2009).
Although golden rice is great in the way it helps with a vitamin A deficiency and in
reducing colour blindness, there are disadvantages, such as there are concerns that
food from genetically modified plants might harm people and fears that it could cross
breed with and contaminate wild rice (BBC Bitesize, 2017).
Evaluation of stem cells and other methods of genetic modification.
Stem cells are unspecialized cells which can develop into any cell. Stem cells then
divide to become specialized through a process called differentiation. Stem cells in
humans are found in early embryos and in a few places in adults (CGP AS Level
Biology Revision Guide, 2008). Stem cells are found in every human body in limited
amounts and can be taken from adult tissues without harm (Thought Co, 2017).
The two main types of stem cells are embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells.
Most embryonic stem cells are from IVF clinics that have been donated for research
purposes with informed consent from the donors. They do not come from fertilized
eggs in a woman s body.
Essay On Afro-American Leadership
Through history, we can lecture about an enormous quantity of world leader who
have had the opportunity to make important contributions to the humanity by
spreading their brand new ideas.
Numerous people have work together to manage a change in racism. Centuries ago,
any Afro American didn t have the opportunity to attend to school or college. In
addition, it was unlikely to hire an Afro American as a manager of an enterprise.
Previously, the Afro American were captives who had no right to choose what they
fancied doing. As a result, to the influence of a few men, this situation has been
evolving. For instance, we can lecture about Nelson Mandela, who fought to obtain
equal rights for Afro Americans and aided to achieve a change in the world. Even
though we still have racism in our cultures. Now, it is probable to meet a CEO of a
company who is Afro American. Furthermore, we can mention Barack Obama,...

Earlier, women had no right to study, to work or do anything outside of their

labor not only in gender equality, but also in the scientific field is Marie Curie.
Even though most women did not have the opportunity to study, she won two Nobel
prizes. In addition, she was the first woman who became a teacher in the University
of Paris. Besides, we can discuss about Margaret Thatcher, who became the first and
only women to become a prime minister of the United Kingdom. She had the
occasion to quarrel in behalf of women rights, when she was prime minister.
In conclusion, numerous world leader have influenced the world to evolve into an
improved place. Not all of the modifications were good. Nevertheless, we should
fight for our rights; we must study, work and endure to change our environment for a
positive cause and improve it for the generations to

Meiosis Essay

  • 1. Meiosis Essay Crafting an essay on the intricacies of meiosis is no small feat. The topic itself delves into the complex realm of cellular division, genetics, and reproductive processes. To undertake such a task requires a solid grasp of biological concepts, an ability to articulate these ideas coherently, and a commitment to thorough research. Meiosis, being a fundamental process in sexual reproduction, involves a series of intricate steps that lead to the creation of haploid cells from diploid ones. Describing these stages in a comprehensive yet concise manner demands not only a deep understanding of the biological principles involved but also a keen sense of clarity in conveying these ideas to the reader. The challenge intensifies when delving into the molecular intricacies of meiotic events. Addressing concepts like crossing over, genetic recombination, and the significance of homologous chromosomes necessitates a careful balance between scientific accuracy and accessibility for the audience. Striking this balance is a nuanced task that demands a writer's ability to translate complex scientific jargon into digestible information without oversimplifying the subject matter. Furthermore, a comprehensive meiosis essay should not merely recount the sequential events but should also explore the broader implications of meiotic processes. This may involve discussing the role of meiosis in genetic diversity, its significance in evolution, or its connection to various genetic disorders. In essence, tackling a "Meiosis Essay" involves navigating a landscape of scientific complexity, articulating intricate processes with clarity, and weaving a narrative that engages readers without sacrificing accuracy. While challenging, successfully navigating these challenges can yield a rewarding essay that not only educates but also captivates the audience. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any academic writing challenges, it's worth exploring resources like HelpWriting.net, where expert writers can provide support and guidance in crafting well-researched and articulate essays on a variety of topics. • 2. Mars Journey It s the year 3012, Jan 2nd. Today we re the third group being sent up into Mars for a mission to find a colony called Matis. The other two groups that went up to Mars had something go wrong. Communicating had failed and they never returned. So being the 3rd group going and not knowing what s going on up there is very nerve wracking. At least we have a different mission then them which consists of getting samples of the sand and rocks to see if it s even livable. Maybe this why they never returned. The spaceship is ready for us to start boarding. Even though Mars is so far away it should only take a few hours to get there because technology had made the ship travels faster than back in 2900 s. My fellow missionaries Brad and Nate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could be on the opposite side so we decided to stay together so we don t get lost. After a few hundred feet we saw the base. We walked the rest of the way there and went inside. We found a lot of stuff there the place was all trashed as if something was living there. We explored further and was surprised to find a locked door. We decided to move on and will report it back to NASA later. We still needed to get our samples. On our way back we grabbed our samples that are needed for our second mission. It was surprisingly harder to find a rock than we thought it would be. We found a cave that was made of stone, so we ended up getting our rock samples from there. As I reported to Brad and Nate I got all of the rock samples, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I started to yell for them to run back to the base. I don t what the creature is but all I do know Is it had white sharp teeth and was the color of the sand. It was as if it was waiting for us to come there. We were running back to the base and it was chasing us and was catching up to us. It was slowly getting harder to run. I then realized my oxygen tank is getting low and it was getting harder to run. Once we got the base I realized my oxygen tank had a hole in it. I started to freak out that no oxygen was at the base and my spaceship of 100 s of feet away. Brad and Nate tried to calm me down but it was too hard to. After 10 minutes, we started to hear pounding on
  • 3. The Establishment and Rise of the Jesuits Essay At the turn of the 1500 s, the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, began. It s founder, Ignatius Loyola, created this society very distinct from other orders, in its fanatical obedience to the pope, and requirement of education to be a practitioner in the Society. The Jesuits played a large role in counter reformation, specifically Protestantism. The Catholic Church used the Jesuits to reclaim many of the souls lost to the heresies that abounded during that age. The Jesuits continue to serve the Church today, especially the Pope, and despite the accusation towards them, they remain a catholic organization. Loyola designed the society to be a secular representation of Jesus, taking vows of poverty and obedience, and creating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more Ignatius learned about Saints, the more he desired to imitate their lives. His first yearning after healing was to visit the Jerusalem and the rest of Judea. His first stop however was Barcelona. There Ignatius proceeded to the Benedictine Shrine of Our Lady of Montserrat, where his conversion really sank in. He left his sword and knife at the altar and began his life as simple man, giving away all his clothes. Continuing on his Journey to Barcelona, Ignatius stopped in a nearby cave to gain strength for a few days. However Ignatius lingered in this cave outside of Manresa for ten months. During this time he created the Spiritual Exercises while devoting his life to prayer, and work for the needy. He gained a new life view during this time, coming to focus his life on God and finding Him in all things. Ignatius also suffered through many penances, which left him in his later years with a problematic stomach. This affected the future rules for his monasteries, for he later did not require any penances. Finally arriving in Barcelona, Ignatius met Pope Adrian VI asked permission to visit the Holy Land. Because of the danger, Ignatius was denied consent. By then Ignatius had developed a new plan: He would become a priest. Because of lack of education in Latin, Ignatius stayed in Barcelona to learn Latin, begging his way through those years for food and shelter. He also gained much notoriety for his lectures on the Gospels. The Spanish
  • 4. The Models Of Servant Leadership, Transformational... This paper aims to address an organizational issue and illustrate how the situation could be resolved by using three different models of leadership. The work environment will be described, the significance of the issue will be presented and the resolution will be analyzed using the models of servant leadership, transformational leadership and transactional leadership. In 1989 I was employed by a retail bank and enrolled into an accelerated management training program, the purpose of which was to fast track my progress to management within 4 years, as opposed to the 15 years typically experienced. The premise behind the program was that candidates did not need an in depth knowledge of routine or front office activities, they could get a fleeting experience of departments, from 2 weeks to 3 months, and progress on to leadership positions elsewhere in the organization. In my local area there were 45 trainees, all in different offices and stages of the program. Each trainee was responsible for projecting a professional attitude, commanding respect from the team, and completing the Chartered Institute of Bankers examinations. The issue that developed was quite serious. Over 50% of the trainees did not complete the process, generally for one of two reasons; commanding respect or failure to pass the exams. The reason was not apparent for some time, and the bank leadership created the program knowing that there would be some considerable waste of money and resources for those that
  • 5. Everybody s Luck Begins To Run Out Summary Yes, the climax of the story is as significant as this sounds because Sammy is able to describe and explain why everybody s luck begins to run out. For example, he mentions Queenie s blushes when Leagel confronts her and her friends are not dressing decently. After they leave the store, Sammy tells Leagel that he is quitting the job because he does not like the way in which Leagel treats the girls. From these two examples, it proves that everybody s luck begins to run out because the girls leaves the store unpleasantly and Sammy loses his job. However, the tone of Sammy s telling the story is informal and it does not match the events due to his usage of colloquialism. Therefore, his decision to quit the job will let audiences think he is immature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sammy describes Leagel as a dreary person who is the store manager and teaches in a Sunday school. Therefore, being a teacher explains why Leagel is strict on policy and readers can infer that he lives with conformity, which he never breaks rules. Stokesie is Sammy s friend who is married, has two children, and wants to become a manager one day in A P. Therefore, when he sees Sammy resigns his job, he is not likely to follow Sammy s action because he needs to support his family. This shows Stokesie is more mature than Sammy because he understands what responsibilities he has. Apart from describing the male employees, Sammy thinks the young female customers who wear bathing suits know what they want and they enjoy greater freedom than other customers, which Sammy describes them as a few houseslaves in pin curlers . From Sammy s point of view, he suggests the houseslaves customers are most likely housewives because they go to A P with curlers and that means they are busy taking care of their families and do not have time to focus on their appearances. Therefore, Sammy s depiction of the house slaves in pin curlers suggests they do not have control of their

  • 7. Thomas Aquinas Five Proofs For God s Existence Thomas Aquinas offered 5 proofs for God s existence (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). In Aquinas time, his works were considered very controversial and included some that were condemned as heretical by the bishop of Paris (Archie, 2006). Since then, Aquinas has come to be regarded as the greatest theologian and philosopher in the Church s history (Archie, 2006). Further supporting Aquinas proof, many find Creative Evolution attractive (Lewis, 2014). This gives a person much of the emotional comfort of believing in God, and none of the less pleasant consequences (Lewis, 2014). The Aristotelian Background includes the argument for the existence of God from the nature of efficient cause (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). Within this argument lies the key premise that Aquinas idea is that nothing can be the efficient cause of itself or own existence (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009)., that nothing can be the cause of its own existence, which Aquinas expresses the chain of causes of things which come into existence cannot be infinite (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). Therefore, God is the first cause because nothing can be the cause of its own existence, or be responsible for its own existence (Archie, 2006). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, the cause of the existence of things, which was not itself caused to exist, justifies the existence of God (Aquinas Five Ways, 2009). • 8. Black Boy Character Analysis Everybody, at one moment or another during their childhood, has wished to gain the responsibilities of an adult. However, most kids are held back by the childish part of themselves. They have to go through a coming of age cycle, that once completed, has matured them and made them evolve from their old self. In Richard Wright s autobiography Black Boy, we follow a young boy named Richard through his own journey to become a man, as we see him struggle and overcome obstacles. The author uses the motifs of hunger, discrimination, and religion to represent his quest and to emphasize on all the challenges life throws at him. Richard s life is horribly scarred by the haunting ghost of hunger. During his stay at West Helena, once Aunt Maggie has left with his new uncle, Richard and his family are left with no money to buy food. After the boy s visit to try and convince Richard to become religious, his family [begs him] so continuously to come to God that it becomes impossible for him to ignore them without wounding them. He desperately tries to think of some way to say no without making them hate him (Wright 116). Religion represents the conflict that flares in his family. He is different from them, and he wants to make them to understand that without hurting them. When Ella is caught reading a book to Richard, his grandmother gets furious and tells Richard that books are the Devil s work [...], [and that he is] going to burn in hell (Wright, 39). For the first time in his life, Richard has tasted what was life to him, and is determined to get away from his family s religious beliefs and get himself the life he wants. He realizes that they can t understand what he is feeling. In this book, religion is used as a way to represent the tension in his family, and is used to make Richard gain independence from his

Hammett s story is classified as hard boiled fiction, which Encyclopaedia Britannica defines as a tough, unsentimental style of American crime writing (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica). Due to its hard boiled nature, The Gutting of Couffignal mainly focuses on the issue of large scale crime in the city. Unlike the Continental Op, Princess Zhukovski allows some of her most significant actions to be ruled by her own gender stereotyping. To begin with, the princess is taken by surprise when the Op announces his suspicions of her. Her reaction proves that she does not believe he would come to those conclusions, not only because she is of royal birth but also because she is a woman. Once the princess realizes she is found out, Zhukovski attempts to gain sympathy from the Continental Op by expressing the woes of her troublesome past life. She laments, There was no place for us in world. Outcasts easily become outlaws (Hammett 250). Zhukovski hopes that her sob story will touch the heart of the Continental Op and that her portrayal of the damsel in distress will drive the point home, but the Continental Op is having none of it. Growing in desperation, the princess plays her last card by seductively offering herself to him, and it appears it is a hand she has played before. Zhukovski expects even the strongest willed men to bend before her at the promise of a sexual favor. At the conclusion of the story, the princess employs both her wealth and feminine wiles to save her own skin, bribing Flippo to kill the Continental Op for her. Hammett illustrates her tactics when he writes She was singing, chanting, crooning Italian syllables into his round face (252). Although Zhukovski successfully manipulates Flippo, it ultimately does her no good; once the

Some of the people in our ART 105 class might not even want to see this movie due to its realism of such a dark and painful story, as well as some of the graphic material shown. This movie, however, is one of the best horror films of the century, in my humble opinion. I enjoy this movie thoroughly and often watch it in my spare time, so I have plenty of opinions on every aspect of this movie. During this entire movie, all the main characters, to me, were all very interesting, as the two(ish) antagonists are, to this day, traumatizing those who see them without having seen the movie. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), the protagonist, is a very hard worker who is blunt and concerned more about education and catching a killer, as she rejects advances by both Dr. Chilton (Anthony Heald), the asylum owner, and an entomologist named Pilcher (Paul Lazar) , who ask about her personal life. She is often enthralled with catching Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine) that even in one of the first scenes, she already has her sights on him. While myriad themes that pervade themselves throughout the entirety of Sophocles Antigone, the universal and most heavily manifested theme is that regarding the conflict between how individuals choose to make decisions in a society: should one fulfill religious and familial obligations even when they contract the ruling of the state, or rather should the government be able to supersede divine right? In the traditional Greek plays, the familial structure plays a significant role in governing the actions of characters and causing conflicts, such as in the case of Oedipusmarrying his mother out of ignorance of familial connection because of divine rule and fate. Moreover, the role of hospitality and the almost unbreakable bond of family are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sophocles thereby highlights Creon s injustice by showcasing not only the immorality of his actions but also how he easily breaks familial bonds to maintain power and establish a strong government. Du Gao Idealism: The Root of Antigone s Downfall in Sophocles Antigone Sophocles Antigone centers around a familial feud that develops between Antigone and Creon when Antigone decides to bury her brother and Creon s niece, Polynices. While Antigone believes that it is her religious and familial duty to bury her brother, Creon objects, citing the Theban civil war which took place right before the events of the play. Adhering to Greek literary tradition, Sophocles ultimately seeks not just to entertain the audience, but also to teach a moral lesson, in this case about the consequences that ensue when a tyrannical ruler disobeys divine rule, violate religious obligation, and attempt to place government over religion. In developing the plot and conflicts of the text, Sophocles explores three unique but interconnected themes. Sophocles first considers the role of the individual versus that of the family, then rule by consensus versus that by a monarchy, and finally obligations to religion and tradition versus those to the state. The underlying conflict of Antigone, therefore, is not simply that between Antigone and Creon, but also between the themes

The Liberal Side Of The Immigration Debate The liberal side of the immigration debate supports legal immigration, increasing the number of legal immigrants permitted to enter the U.S. each year, and blanket amnesty for current illegal immigrants. Liberals believe that regardless of how they came to the U.S., illegal immigrants deserve things like U.S. government financial aid for college tuition and visas for spouse/children to come to the U.S. They believe that families shouldn t be separated and that many illegal immigrants do the jobs that the average American does not want to do (Primeaux). The liberals are also strongly against laws such as Arizona s SB 1070 and believe that such laws only encourage racial profiling and are unconstitutional. Democrats (who are generally more liberal) believe that a comprehensive immigration reform is essential to fixing our broken immigration system. If a proper reform is put in place, it will help to continue the tradition of innovation that immigrants have brought to the American economy, and held to ensure a level playing field for American workers. President Obama has recently stepped in to try and create a solution. In November 2014, President Obama announced executive action offering deportation relief for up to five million undocumented immigrants who are contributing to their communities. It is an important source of renewable energy and its technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar depending on how they capture and distribute solar energyor convert it into solar power. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic systems, concentrated solar power and solar water heating to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air. The large magnitude of solar energy available makes it a highly appealing source of electricity. • 35. Labor Division Preindustrial economies encompasses hunter and gather, agricultural, and agrarian societies. The labors in this type of society are involved in primary sector production which is the removal of natural and raw resources from the environment. These resources are used with little or no processing. Most goods in hunter and gather societies are made by family members in small quantities in order to take care of their basic needs. Labor division is based on age and gender. As people in these societies become skilled at raising animals and cultivating their own food, they are able to produce surplus goods. In the case of agricultural and rural societies, family life is separate from the economy. The production process is more complex and the resulting buildup of surplus allows some people within that society to concentrate on other endeavors beyond producing food. Food production is the main focus in an agrarian society, however, labors have a greater array of dedicated responsibilities, such as warriors who aid in the protection of the surplus goods.... This results in an increase in factories as the main method of goods production. Labor division is bureaucratically structured. For example, lumberjacks felled and mill trees, turning them into lumber; carpenters then convert the lumber into furniture or houses. A greater surplus brought on by mass production benefits some, but not all in this type of

Originally, the Bhopal pesticide plants were to be some of the best and most beautiful plants which would have huge production capabilities. However, in 1984 there was a massive leak of methyl isocyanate (MIC) which spread out to local communities and has negatively affected the health of hundreds of thousands of people. The reason why the pesticideplant was created was for the Green Revolution in the 1960 s. Traditional farming methods in India were changing to high yield seed varieties which needed more fertilizers and pesticides (Eckerman, 2005), to meet the increasing food demand. Pesticide production was originally sourced in Europe, however because of new knowledge and protests from environmental activists, it became restricted. (Eckerman, 2005, pg. 24). Consequently, pesticide production was outsourced to India because of fewer regulations and cheaper labor (Kovel, 2002). The pesticide that the Bhopalplants created was Carbaryl, and this pesticide serves as a neurotoxin that controls pests such as moths, beetles, ants, mosquitoes, ticks and cockroaches (National Pesticide Information Center, 2003). The chemicals inside the pesticide are a Cholinesterase Inhibitor, which inhibits the cholinesterase enzyme from degrading acetylcholin, eventually leading to interference in the host s nervous system (Gilbert, 2014, В¶ 3). Thus, it can be used as an online monitoring tool, but can also be applied as an offline incident handling tool. The first component is a passive DNS sensor that is a simple packet capturer filtering DNS related traffic. This sensor should be placed between the recursive DNS server and the upstream DNS servers and its purpose is to listen for DNS replies, filter data and feed the retrieved information into the centralized storage which is here a relational database system. In general, Big data excels in three areas: Volume, Variety and Velocity. Volume and Variety is when you are dealing with a huge quantity of data, in all types of forms and all types of sources. Velocity is about additional capabilities offered by distributed processing, which drastically accelerates the computing speed. But, when it comes to logistics, Big data is more than just 3Vs. It goes beyond and presents real world use cases, revealing what is happening now and what could possibly happen in the future. Big data is often unstructured, so you definitely need advance mechanism for interpreting the data. The major challenges faced are data analysing, capturing, curating, storing, searching, querying, updating, sharing, transferring, visualising and security. Likewise, when a believer hears a rumor about another person, he or she should ask that person if the rumor is true or not. That would save a great deal of heartache and
  • 55. Genetically Modified Organisms And Stem-Food Report With reference to a recent news report analyse how genetically modified products are created and evaluate the use of stem cells to combat disease. Genetic modification is the manipulation of DNA in an organism. It involves extracting a gene from one organism then inserting it into another organism that is usually of a different species but can be the same. The genes can also be manufactured instead of being extracted from the organism. Genetic modification can be done to plants, animals and even food. Genetically modified products can benefit humans in many ways such as genetically modified plants can be used to reduce vitamin deficiency (CGP A2 Level Biology Revision Guide, 2009). In 2005, UK scientists developed a new strain of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, the agrobacterium tumefaciens insert the genes into the plant cells DNA which then creates transformed rice plant cells. Now the rice plant cells grow on a selective medium. Only the transformed rice plants will be able to grow due to them containing the marker gene which is needed to grow on this medium (CGP A2 Level Biology Revision Guide, 2009). Although golden rice is great in the way it helps with a vitamin A deficiency and in reducing colour blindness, there are disadvantages, such as there are concerns that food from genetically modified plants might harm people and fears that it could cross breed with and contaminate wild rice (BBC Bitesize, 2017). Evaluation of stem cells and other methods of genetic modification. Stem cells are unspecialized cells which can develop into any cell. Stem cells then divide to become specialized through a process called differentiation. Stem cells in humans are found in early embryos and in a few places in adults (CGP AS Level Biology Revision Guide, 2008). Stem cells are found in every human body in limited amounts and can be taken from adult tissues without harm (Thought Co, 2017). The two main types of stem cells are embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. Most embryonic stem cells are from IVF clinics that have been donated for research purposes with informed consent from the donors. They do not come from fertilized eggs in a woman s body.
